Joined now by David Sacks of Kraft Ventures and the co -host of the All In podcast, as well as a big presence on Twitter. Hello, David, thank you for joining me. I'm very glad you did. Good to be here. Thanks to you. Now, I've spent a lot of time with some of your friends like Peter Thiel, and I just got off an hour -long interview with Tristan Harris of the Center for Humane Technology. Are you familiar with Tristan? I don't think so. Nothing I know of. Well, I am only learning about the All In podcast, and I listened to the vague interview with great interest because I interviewed him yesterday, and then I listened to Bill Gurley's interview with even more interest, but I have a problem. I don't know your voice yet. The only time I'd ever heard your voice was on the Twitter thing with Rhonda Sanders. It was so choppy. I couldn't get a good ... I've been doing this for 33 years, but I still couldn't get it in. When you were doing biographies, which was really the most interesting part of both podcasts, somebody said they liked Shoe Dog, Man in the Arena, and Hamilton. Was that you? I don't know. Let's see. No, I don't think so. Wait. A voice said that those were ... Oh, that those were books that they liked. Biographies. You guys were talking about biographies. Yes. I think that was a friend of mine, Brad Gerstner, who was also on the pod, so yeah, no, unfortunately, that was not me. Okay. Tell me what biographies you read because I actually think it's one of the most interesting questions you can ask somebody.

"Putting tournament birdie. That was great. No the birdies expected. And honestly when you want. The quality of the field will improve now at has. Because there's fedex cup points for the following year so that's helped but the best players are like. I'm not going a putting tournament. It bring you want the tournament have a little bite to it. Make these guys work. I you know so. Maybe the rocket mortgage. It's young in their history. they go. We don't want to be one of these tournaments. It's twenty four under par grow the rough but what's wrong with the winning score twelve thirteen in but but there's some trouble out there for these guys now. It's an excellent point. Definitely something to consider here for this week's tournament again. I think it is important to kind of read. What the players say about these courses as they're going through their practice rounds and all of that and i'm sure the nascar drivers will have a lot to say about road. America here up in wisconsin. That's this weekend's jockey. Made in america to fifty on the four and a half mile road. Course are four point. Oh four eight miles something like that whatever. It is up there in wisconsin. But this is a road course race. It's really interesting. We won't dive too deep into this one because then brian hasn't really had a chance to look at it. And i just kind of looked at it here this morning but this is the first cup series race or at least the top nascar level race since nineteen fifty six at road america. Only the second one time. But what's interesting about this weekend. Is that the xfinity. Series has been going there every year since two thousand and ten. Some of the younger drivers like a christopher bell at forty two one austin syndrich at forty two one who won last year at road america tyler. Rettig has a couple of top five zero. He's sixty six to one. Maybe this week you find some price. Plays out there in the cup. Series is expanding running here. Yes i would say. I don i do not see the numbers up yet for it. Unless you've got something but in the expenditure race. Keep an eye on the gibson because he's figuring this out and he's already won a road course event this year so in the expenditure i'd be taken a peak at tie. Gibbs syndrich always takes all the money as for the cup series clearly you look at elliot larson's on a tutsi roll the one guy who's very good and maybe motivated after the scary accident on the in the rain on the road. Courses don't sleep on true x. On road courses so he looks like he's what plus four fifty. I'd probably lean true exits way but elliott's a monster on road courses. Yeah i mean. That's the thing i'm gonna take some shots here and play. Christopher bell forty-one. Kurt busch at forty two one. He ran well at cinema and the most recent road course race. I'll take a piece of syndrome. Forty two one something small and radic probably and that'll be it and chase elliott probably wins it plus two fifty. Or maybe kyle larson windsor. Plus three fifty so it may all be for naught. But you know. I'm going to take some longshots here of the xfinity series guys that have run here or at least somewhat experience with the course i mean look. It's over four miles long. They're fourteen turns on this thing. Yeah it's a car race at its core in all of these guys are world-class drivers and even the guys who haven't run here. We'll figure it out. But still i'll take some shots at the guy that at least know their way around the course a little bit. Yeah the rokos events match. Ups group matchups other ways to play it because Gimme the talladega superspeedway. Some real prices or play. Brian blessing the host of sports. For radio and vegas hockey hotline. Talking about a lot of good stuff here on today's show and you talk a lot of good stuff on your to shows all the time. Big sportsbook radio series two. Oh four sports radio network. Achp fourteen hundred in las vegas and that is two.

Michigan State Spartans will not be changing their name to include Rocket Mortgage sponsorship
"Michigan state missteps. And you just knew they would step in it and it has to do with The renaming of their sports team jay it away while and of course you knew like when you found out dan snyder was kind of involves not dance matter. I think it's dan gilbert yeah. I didn't snyder snider alumnus of of michigan Michigan state. you made yeah okay. Find standard stance that so so they. They said that they were going to rename sponsor. Essentially the basketball team. Renamed them the michigan state spartans presentative presented by my rocket mortgage. So i mean by the way rocket mortgage. I like walking. So do i need them and they do have a guy on their basketball team. Name get lots. Why can't rocket watts be presented by rock- rocket mortgage. Yeah i would have been easier like sell. Yeah so they put it out there that they're going to change the name and then they got trolled by everyone acheiving so much negative press and also just because you know. I think people think college sports and this is why this has been the argument against paying college players for soa college. Sports has his purity. That pro sports doesn't have college. Sports is like an anon- tattooed person. It is clean. It is perceived purity because we know there's a lot of on a ferry arrest of but perceived purity that you don't want to mess that up by calling them. The michigan state spartans brought to you by rocket mortgage that has going to become the arizona state as text presented by toes-to-toes. Like when do we stop like. Is it the start to get to sponsors. Could it be like you know what i mean you start to get to sponsors on the scene. Usc trojans presented by trojan trojan condoms. Like i actually would see. That's that's actually got go cell but like there we. We're in a situation right. Now where the washington huskies brought to you by lane bryant. I'm habe fair. he may not. But you're the reason why people are upset and you've got democratic senator of connecticut chris murphy coming out so it was awesome. Who was instrumental in presenting legislation to try and get players paid for their likeness and image. And that's an ongoing process. That randy and i both believe will eventually come to fruition. Why should why should the coaches make all this money. When it's the players who actually really bring people to the stands and why should university sponsored. I mean they they unless you're going to start making the games free for people unless you're gonna start using your sponsorship to make ticket prices. Nothing for the fans were to then you cannot is just. It's a money grab and people don't like that and they think it's a bad look especially when you're seeing coaches salaries just go up and up and up. It looks like it looks very greedy at a time when we don't intuition is going up and up. It's greedy when you don't need to be greedy. Right puts the schools in a bad light right so the public doesn't benefit from this. The the students don't benefit from this. The players who need to benefit don't benefit from this so it just again like you said it it a pit him is is this sort of capitalistic greed. Which i think again makes teams look bad in a team like michigan state in a year when they've looked bad on the court. This was not what they needed. This was not the capper. There's there's a chance they're playing tonight as we record this for all. We know they could beat. Ucla or they could lose to ucla if they lose to ucla in the plane game and they don't even make the tournament and they have to sit out and watch his. How long's it been since michigan statesman in the tournament. It's been a longtime now run. They and they could go on a long run in the tournament and find they could salvage their year but it's been a rocky year for them and to have this sponsorship thing come up it once again and i'm happy that the world of public opinion kind of self corrected this situation. They came out and said they're not changing their name. But they but i'm asking you is this. Was that just a test balloon to go up are we can see a different way like a gentler.
The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard & Rob Parker
MSU Spartans... Presented by Rocket Mortgage?
"Michigan state has announced that its basketball team will now be called the msu spartans presented by rocket mortgage. You sit on a throne of lies. I would think so barat. it's true. Now here's the saving grace at. I believe in the way. I'm reading it. This is a story on. Yahoo is says the team will be called the michigan. The msu you know it presented by rocket mortgage at the breslin center. That's how they'll be known throughout the breslin center which is their home court their home arena so my guess rob is when near now announces a team. That's what he's going to call them at the beginning to gain when they come out for warm ups right before the game whatever. They're the msu sparks as presented by rocket mortgage. I don't expect that when they go elsewhere people are going to refer to them as that maybe they'll announce that before the game but obviously throughout the game everywhere you go. Call them the spartans or michigan state. You think i'm wrong. I mean there's it doesn't make it that much better but it makes it a little better to me. It's total nonsense. It's a allowed. Everything's not for sale. I'm sorry chris. I still respect the steinbrenner family. Chris for not taking the name. They could have put a name on yankee stadium on my right yes or no and made its montemar. Names right all right yankee stadium. How about madison square garden. Could it be very heels right. Could it be american express field reno. I mean they give me making money off of it and they won't do it. Can we have something. Everything's not for sale. I get it dan gilbert. Who was the president of ragweed and look is an alum. He went there. He loves the sports. He tried to hire tommaso to coach the cast. Chris i get the relationship. He's he's a spartan just beat the presenting sponsor when they when they make that announcement. You don't need to the msu sports presented by rocket mortgage. Why would you do that to your alma mater right. Well that's what i'm saying if it's anything but what i said right if is anything but okay well. We announced the team. You know we're announcing the starting lineup. The now star lineup. So the ms you spartans presented by rocket mortgage. But okay. i can deal with that. But if there you got jerseys now. And if that's what their official name is going to be elsewhere. There's a major problem. And i agree with you like and this is just this just shows the other greed. We talked about it and they're not paying players these deals. This is just a pity of the degree of this now rob. I'll even say this. I would've rather them. Just call them. The msu rockets michigan state rockets. Not is that this is ridiculous. This really is bad. And i just don't understand what all the money my god is it. Okay right don't get every nickel chris. I still would have been a sponsor right. There's tons of money probably just not as much maybe wide. I don't know how much is enough. I don't get it seriously. It's ridiculous like i say again. I'm betting that is just going to be announced at various times but not consistently

Is this the monster of drugs? We have so many kids in this epidemic getting caught up and you know, it's it's starting with Vape now. You know, it's it's Vegas like the gateway thing, and and I don't want to get caught with adults telling me I'm attacking them and because their state allows them to purchase marijuana, and they want you particulate you want. I'm just saying, educate yourself and make sure that what you are smoking is really what it is. And you may be taking some other prescription drugs that don't mix. And there you you have an episode we This is happening so much and so often, So what we have done is We We put we provide information for people to go and get education where there's online Curriculum, all free with it comes in 20 languages. "Had rocket mortgage squares dot com Still kind of marveling rebelling in that conversation and not an interview with a conversation with Steve Smith. You ever noticed And if you listen, the show, you know where I'm going with this. I could do interviews, and I've done thousands and thousands of interviews and generally, at least on this show, they're all about the same life, maybe eight minutes nine. If they're really good, I'll go 10 or 11. If they're not so good. About five or six But they're generally about the same in length. It's kind of amazing, right that in an eight minute interview, Sometimes I need to fire off 15 questions because the interview subject is either not that engaged or, you know, frankly, just not as good at it, Not anybody's got that gift a gap. And I'm not judging it anyway. Like if they commit to coming on the program that means they felt like it was worth their time worth their while. Felt like it was investment they should make had respect for me or the process. So I always appreciate that unless somebody really does not want to be there, and somebody talked him into it. And that doesn't do either of us any good. Sometimes I need to ask 15 questions. Sometimes, in fact, never but in the case of Steve Smith, and I mean this in such a good way I could get through an interview with two questions or three. How you doing? Hey, You told this great story about this conversation. You have the former teammate once. Why was that so critical? Okay, let's say about that. Hey, I got a minute. Can you tell me who you like on Sunday? That is such a great conversation. I'm so happy about that. Imagine being Steve Smith, and he's probably got this is why his podcast is so good and why he's always been such compelling figure to me. He's probably got a million stories like that. Do you imagine if you had that kind of content and you could tell a story the way he could tell a story and have that kind of passion? And insight. So good. So Yeah, there, I'd say I'd love to say that they should all be like that, But he's one of one. They're not all like that. In fact, nobody's like that. There's nobody like that guy. So I'm pretty pleased. Always good to talk to him. What I didn't say. To him. That's right. What? I didn't say to him and I'll say right now. Is he did? Kind of personal, but he did send me a text out of the blue, which you know we don't text each other a lot. He sent me a text out of the blue of him. His family hiking in a might be my favorite athlete text ever. And the reason for that was when he came on my podcast and talked about hiking was blown away. I'm like, Wait, you You hike? Yeah, he said right crazy, right? Somebody from Los Angeles, the inner city. I love it. It's amazing, and we had a good chuckle about it. And I just kept going, man that that's so awesome. That is so great. And then it doesn't come up again. I don't give it a thought. And then a few months later, out of the blue, there's a text of him and his family hiking. Just I laughed about it for hours. It was so great. And I find out he skis in Montana to always something that was Steve Smith and always good. Justin Jefferson is coming up next. I'm seeing a ton of beef, which I like. It's gonna be a big beef segment next hour. Quick reminder. In fact, this guy's reminding you for me, Jimmy Bra. This starts Jimmy Bra. Did you talk to Charles Woodson about his intercept wines. My wife loves those wines. She's been able to really price gouge. So count natives during the pandemic with those things signed Narc, Bry. Bra. Brian Charlotte. I did talk to Charles Woodson about his intercept wines. And his intercept career with the Packers and the Raiders. And what he's been up to. It's a really good conversation. What a class act Charles Woodson. Remember Aaron Rodgers was on record as saying that Charles Woodson was the most talented guy he's ever played with. And Charles Woodson was really good on that topic about what's going to happen with the Packers and Aaron Rodgers and how that's gonna play out in his mind. So look for that. That podcast episode is going to drop after the program today. So as it turns out, February. 2nd actually brought some really good news news. I think that everybody has been waiting on for a long, long time. And no, I'm not talking about that big rodent in Pennsylvania. No, I'm talking about this. It's the sound. You've waited months to hear. It's images or some of your oldest memories. It's caused some of your greatest triumphs. And your biggest heartbreaks. Those who know those.

"Rocket mortgage rocket can Nicolas Winton saved hundreds of Children from the Nazis. Decades later, the BBC created a surprise re union can ask Is that anyone in our audience tonight who owes their life to Nicholas Winton? In that moment, dozens of Holocaust survivors stood before him. Now a new Children's book pays tribute to his heroism, remembering Nicolas Winton on the next morning edition from NPR News. Weekday mornings on 89.3 kpcc. This'd is one, eh? I'm Jenn White in Washington. Modernize and restore humanity. That's how the Biden administration describes its approach to updating the U. S immigration system. During his first day in office, President Joe Biden signed a raft of executive actions on immigration. This included stopping construction on the border wall with Mexico and protecting Dr recipients. Now the politics begin biting his Senate ambitious piece of immigration legislation to Congress. Among its many provisions is a pathway to citizenship for 11 million immigrants without legal status to be in the U. S, with Democrats in control of all three branches of government. Could this be the time to pass comprehensive immigration reform? Joining me to help? Answer this question is Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren. She's a Democrat whose district includes San Jose, California. Welcome back to one a representative Lofgren. Good, good. Good day to you as well. Well, the pathway to citizenship is the central component of Biden's immigration proposal to Congress explain how this would work and whether their support for it across the aisle. Well, we'll see. But I think it's not just that the focus on that because we have this situation where we failed to deal with many essential workers who Made the economy run. I mean, take a look at Farm workers. A probably 80% of the farm workers are undocumented. If they all left, we'd have nothing to eat, So we do need to address this issue, but it's really Takes a walk at a broad swath of the immigration codes and ask this question. Is this working for the United States? And in many cases, it is it. Can you just explain, though, how that authorization would work, So if people Have been in the country without legal status. What would be the steps that need to take to gain citizenship? They would have to have a background check those who are terrorist screening, pay back taxes. On wait for several years, keeping a clean record there are on then they would be able to get A green card, a legal permanent resident, so It does something else. A lot of people don't realize we did something in 1996 that really messed up immigration law. If you enter the United States without inspection. This was really overtly aimed at people from Latin American, especially Mexico. And then you later become eligible under the existing system For a visa. You have to leave the country for 10 years. Well, the estimates are I mean, if you go Through an airport and overstay your visas. That prohibition does not apply. And so the estimate is. You know, there are millions of people who would have And are currently eligible under the existing system, But for this provision that singles them out, and within that legislation address that Yes, it would. And I happen to know there's bipartisan support for that because I talked to many, many members, including many Republicans, who realized this is just a counterproductive provisioning. It just frustrates the gold of the immigration law system, and they're also put lay out some of the other key components of this bill. Sure their provisions that will allow for pilots projects to grow the American economy through immigration. What we have seen in the past is that if you apply An influx of immigrants and certain communities that are tremendously disadvantaged. It has the impact of stirring small businesses and creating economic activity that benefits the entire community and also Provides funding and I think this is really important to integrate immigrants and refugees into American communities. Right now People come into the country from all over the world they want to become Americans. There's really no system in place to help them become Americans to become acculturated understand what is expected of them, and I think That will be a wonderful thing for the people who, after all, they wanted come and become Americans. Let's help them become fully Americans. This is really I think the whole screen on this How do we use the immigration system? Benefit the United States of America. It has something in here that I think is very important for people who are getting their PhDs and certain arcane technical fields right now we're educating people. And you know some of the finest universities in the world in the United States. Having them graduate with degrees in computer science or artificial intelligence, and then we make them leave and go to some other country to start a business that doesn't healthy American economy. So it fixes that as well. Now the bill also, and it also expands the use of technology at the southern border. Instead of relying on the law on the wall. I provide some foreign aid to Central America. As I said, you know, in the open Democrats control both houses. But you need 60 votes to pass legislation in the Senate. Republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma, said there is common ground for immigration reform. But Democrats aren't sinking it at and I'll quote him here, he says. Quote every person that's entered the country suddenly becomes a legal citizen here, no matter how they came. That's a bad starting point to say the least. Where you willing to compromise and add measures Republicans want, like increase security or deterrent at the border. The process will leave this house. Finds its common ground and we sent it to the Senate. And then the Senate. You know, we'll look at it. Maybe they'll make some changes. I don't know. Um and then you have a conference committee and you sort out the differences between the two bodies..

I'll be looking rocking those cans backwards. Cool, dude. Good luck. You got something raising? A hawk thinks that's pretty funny. Look at him. Okay? That's pretty funny. Go ahead. Put him on really quickly. I gotta ask you so normally is. We're bumping back into the top of the hour. I'm not watching the program monitor on the bump back. I can't lie. Sit down with the ash. Thank you. Many views is that up to now? I think it went from 63 to 83. Good. Good. Good for you. Good for him. So, for whatever reason I normally do not check that bump back is intently as I did, And there's Alvin with his cans around his neck, not over his ears, but around his neck and they're backwards, and I referenced it. And for some reason, you think that's the funniest thing ever, at least judging from your reactions through the glass. Why is that? I mean, I'm a funny guy generally. But why is that so funny? Well, it's a funny uh, well, the way you just said cool, dude, because we have been making fun of him for the way he wears his headphones. Like the way doctors where stethoscopes and we don't know why. I just asked him real quickly before I jumped on, I said, is that because your hair because I think I've asked him that before. It's not because of his hair. I think it's just like a style like this one Best up is here. But I think it's like a style thing. You know, like DJs will wear their headphones like on their shoulders like I'm working so hard to keep these damn headphones on in any way. Do you see how rich it is? That you're asking why somebody would do anything when it comes to style? You don't find that rich. I mean, I think my whole life is one Giant oxymoron so I can't stop to check myself. I just got to keep going. And when it comes to talking about Alvin wearing his headphones right that he does oxymoron. I don't know. I know what the moron part means. But I just think it's setting you up for that even back could have not been easy. But like why you're using words that you don't know. Do you know what that means? Oxymoron, given example of an oxymoron. Something that doesn't make sense compared to something else. Sort of. Kind of not really like jumbo shrimp, Jumbo shrimp? Yes. Um, and another thing that Alvin does. More than anyone, and it's because of the proximity to the camera as he has a real good feel for when it's on him, And he'll just glance up and just keep a dead straight face like he's zoo lander like he's making love to the camera, and he does it like on every single bump back. It's incredible. So the combination of you picking up on the headphones that he wears like a doctor, and then the make love to the camera. Look, it was just a great moment. All right. Thank you for sharing that that helps. Now I know why you think that's so funny because you've been talking about that for like, Yeah, That's me in the camera, Albie. It. The irony, though it's dripping with irony that Alvin would quote make a love to the camera. It took Alvin more than a decade to get anywhere near comfortable speaking into a microphone on air, So why would we think that he's quote making love to the camera? And.

I caught up with my friend from S and Y and Notre Dame expert. That's why New Yorkers should specify and being that is a national show. Um, Ayman McEnaney, who's the host of all the program's over there, and Geico Sports has been there for a while, but he played lacrosse at Notre Dame, Notre Dame alarm, obviously and huge Notre Dame in college football fans were there would be fun to have him on. After the game expecting a blowout, of course. And maybe we'd have a man going nuts but anyway, caught up with him. Had some follow them. Take a listen. We'll get back to calls in the side, obviously it by 5 to 1 to 4 to 27855212. For CBS. But right now, let's listen to me and a man McEnaney. My good buddy over us and why it's been a while since I've had a chance to have him on. And I don't even know if I've ever actually had a mom. But I want to talk some Notre Dame and no one better to talk some Notre Dame that my good buddy from S N y Ayman McEnaney, who is the biggest Notre Dame fan went to Notre Dame played lacrosse there and I want to have Mom winner lose. Will New. Unfortunate was gonna happen, But a man I want to get your perspective on this because I'm sure you're sick and tired of hearing from the outsiders. Their thoughts on Notre Dame, maybe being a fraudulent team to be in the playoffs and this and that first off your feeling after watching once again Notre Dame coming up short in a big bowl game. Yeah. I mean, he just said it was it was expected. I never thought we'd be able to keep up with this Alabama team. I thought our offense would be able to put up more than seven points I get, you know, Obviously, we got the back door cover. Which apparently Earth one John Jastremski because he said they didn't deserve to cover you. But you better guys need to explain that to me. You cover you don't know Now we have merits of covering. But anyway, uh I thought we'd be able to move the ball a little bit better than I think when we committed to the run. We did. I think the problem was, we just fell behind by too much and started throwing the ball around on. That's not our strength. But, you know That Alabama teen special when you have three guys who are in the top five voting of the Heisman Trophy award. You know how good they are on offense, so I knew we weren't gonna be able to shut them down. I think Nick's same and played nice today, slowing down the pace and running the ball after the game was pretty much salted away. But I was just disappointed in the passing attack or lack thereof for Notre Dame. I thought we'd be able to put some pressure on their defense and other than that one really long drive. We never really did. So I don't understand why Notre Dame doesn't try to get the ball to their wide receivers and space a little bit so they can actually do something after they catch it. But You know, they certainly don't have the wide receivers. Alabama does so once again, it's uh, you know, the same old same old with Notre Dame in a big game, so so going into has a little Going in. Yeah, well, I mean, that's that's okay. Well, you know how it is with Notre Dame. There's such a popular school. People either love him or love to hate them. And then they get themselves into college football playoff here in the Final four. For the second time, they've been non competitive. What is it now? Seven straight New year, Six bowl games that they have lost in and you know, I've been blown out in a bunch of them so that that's the problem. But Hey, man, why I know that people could talk about. Do you think this specific years Because Alabama is so good? Or is there an issue with Notre Dame being able to get the caliber of talent to compete with the S E? You know what the top teams in the sec? Well, right now we gotta do is look at signing day, the three best teams and recruiting of the three best teams every year. I mean, it's no accident. I mean, Alabama look too wide receivers to the NFL in the first round last year and rugs and Judy and their offense is better. Right? I mean, I mean, that's amazing, right? You know, no one knew Matt Jones. And now he might be a first day pick, right? I mean, they just turn out. You know, I'll drop a name on you. But when? Back in the day when I was calling games, I did an old Miss game and you freeze. Still the coach. He could look, Nick's David's the only guy who can actually threaten his starter with playing time because the backup is just as good. So I mean those three programs right now cross shit in recruiting and know her name's not recruiting at that level, yet Notre Dame's improved recruiting so that they keep knocking on the door. On and keep getting into these games. The schedule you know, this year played out this in fact that Trevor Laurence in playing the game at Notre Dame, But, um, you know, Notre Dame talent level of top 10. Unfortunately, there's a huge trouble. From 3 to 4. You know, I mean, look, everyone say someone else should have been in the game tonight that someone else would have in Texas saying, And we already lost the Alabama by 28. So Oklahoma people want the Oklahoman that came again. I mean, Oklahoma lost to Kansas State, So we'll see you all. What about what about Cincinnati and meet again? I'm not having my watching these games go based on record and making the argument for some of these other schools. And I'm not saying believe me. I mean, I'm all for I understand the S E C is gonna crush whoever they play, basically. But what about the people that say as you mentioned Texas A and M or Cincinnati? I mean, would those have been better options looking at not just looking at the result, but maybe giving them a chance as opposed to going to Notre Dame based on their pedigree? Well, I mean, Notre Dame didn't get in, based on its pedigree. Notre Dame guiding because if he Clemson in North Carolina, they had a top five win Any top 10 win or whatever North Carolina ended up being ranked Texas ain't and didn't have that second wind. Exercising and had a nice win over Florida that lost its value in Florida Lost. Ls you Ain't and doesn't have a second Goodwin and when they played a number one ranked team, they got their doors blown off. So even if you take a blind resume, even if you take Notre Dame off, and it's not Notre Dame that resume still gets in over Texas A and M. Cincinnati didn't beat anybody. Good. I mean their best one of the year was Tulsa and the American Athletic Conference championship game and also lost to the Mississippi State team. With a losing record. So I mean, Cincinnati doesn't have any great wins. I mean, you want to put Cincinnati and they're just have someone new. I don't think Cincinnati's given Alabama Ah, better game. You know who people want, You know, Cincinnati had undefeated regular season if they switched schedules that they have the same record. No, I mean, I guess..

Pandemic Economy is Making Revenues a Lot Better for Better.com
"Linked in just named better dot com number one on its list of top fifty startups, which means they're hiring like mad. The company is the sleeper success of the mortgage world. Undoubtedly, you've heard of its huge rival quicken loans, the largest mortgage lender in the US, but despite the eight billion dollars in loans, better dot com issued. Since March, you may not be familiar with the four year old company founder and CEO this. Shaw Garg tells a classic origin story in two, thousand, thirteen he and his wife were shopping for an apartment in New York City finding the right place at the right price was hard enough. Then they applied for a mortgage it was so much harder than it should be like horrendously bad guard told linked in writer Devon boundary. Their mortgage processor was so slow that they lost the apartment and get this. They weren't exactly slouches when it came to understanding Finance Guard was professionally managing billions of dollars in mortgage backed securities in his wife was a banker as battery reported guard thought if it's so bad for us, we'll how bad is it for everybody else? That's when he decided to start his own mortgage company one that would do things better. BETTER DOT COM launched publicly in two thousand sixteen like quicken loans better is an online firm that allows customers to apply for a mortgage and complete the entire process without speaking to a human being. Choose for the most part algorithms decide whether you get that loan or not, and what it will cost better. Dot Com sells the loans to institutional lenders a common mortgage industry practice. The big piece that guard changed industry-wide loan officers operate on a commission not. So at better, the company says its model freeze it up to match the right loan with a customer rather than incentivizing staffers to sell you the most expensive they can in addition customers say that commission fees as well as some other fees that guard wrung out of the process once launched better dot com did fairly well given the scads of competition out there, but it's the pandemic economy that. Shot better to prominence not to mention made it profitable as we've reported here before refinancings hit record highs after the federal. Reserve, dropped its interest rate to zero in March in an effort to save the sputtering economy additionally social distancing made online mortgages far more appealing to customers who previously may have walked into a bank or at least met with mortgage broker over coffee. The bottom line revenues were about one hundred, million dollars. Last year this year better expects to take in eight hundred million dollars in revenues. A newsletter called the information reported. The information also reported that better is trying to raise another one hundred million dollars in advance of a possible IPO. If it succeeds, the company will be valued at about four billion dollars. That's an insane amount of money for someone who used his apartment down payment to fund his business launch. That's right and his wife never bought that New York apartment. We're betting that they're glad they didn't, but and there's always a but right as high flying is this startup is it's a mosquito on the back of quicken loans and rocket mortgage both owned by the rocket companies together those two companies earned almost six and a half billion dollars in revenue just in the first half of this year both are household names unlike their smaller rival rocket companies went public in August in what the information says was the second largest IPO of the year, it rocketed to almost two billion dollars. With the economy faltering again though rocket share prices down ten dollars from its high of thirty dollars at the end of last month questions abound about how long the housing boom will last.

Spend $300 for it. Watch. They've added blood oxygen sensors to it. So it has basically as you're wearing it, a Chinese light that shines light and You three or screen for your skin and incentive, the color of your blood and the blood. Yeah, so and works as ah, of course, better than the production centers, a lot of a spot for the covert epidemic but the really cool things, But the apple other companies will add these beach at features to fitness watch, But it's just sort of a feature. Apple did such a great job of integrating with everything else. So this blood oxygen center? Yes, you can. You can decide. Hey, please tell me what my blocks in saturation levels right now. But it will also just keep sensing it is, of course, the day so if there's any alarming sort of a change, it will give you an alert saying, Hey, this is unusual even works as you're sleeping. You know what? I really have been having really terrible sleep Well at night at night after night after night. Maybe I should have got it. I've got a check up with my doctor in a couple of weeks. Maybe I should bring this up course The Boche will provide the doctor with all the data of what it was. It's been observing. Well, thanks for being with us. I just want to go back to one thing that you said is we wrap it up here. You said that the watch shines a light into your skin. Yes, well, we know that the purest courses pretty translucent. So if that's the way it doesn't that's AH along Go. I won't tell you too long here, but that's one of the interesting sort of limitations of these business watches. But of course, it can't do anything that sort of breaks. The skin on DH presents one of the holy grails of fitness watches. Being able to take lunch, blood sugar readings or two and do stuff like that. But unfortunately, there has been some experimentation that way, but there's no way to do it. But with blood oxygen, they found ways around it that again. They're not taking obviously not taking a blood draw, which is the most most efficient way of doing it. But it's good enough and the science is solid enough. For the purposes of this fitness, But you can tell you particularly when you're exercising. Yes. Should You Refinance Your Mortgage Now? Maybe. Maybe Not.
"Try to refinance your mortgage. We sounds like fun. Doesn't it. Well you know it could be worse right. Look mortgage refinancing applications SPIKE ABOUT EIGHTY PERCENT. Two weeks ago in response to a sudden dramatic drop in the interest rate average. Thirty year fixed. Interest rates dropped to three point two nine percent. That's the lowest since mortgage by Freddie Mac started tracking in one thousand nine hundred seventy one according to the Associated Press some eleven million Americans with mortgages could save money by refinancing according to Bank rate earlier. This month you know about one hundred years ago in Corona virus time. The New York Times predicted that the opportunity to sell millions of loans would be a boon to the country's largest mortgage lenders now those are respectively quicken loans and Wells Fargo quicken washed its digital only rocket mortgage in two thousand fifteen with its. Ad Campaign push-button get mortgage. The company disrupted the state industry. Rapidly rose to the top as rockets do by two thousand nineteen quicken was the country's number one mortgage originator with more than one hundred forty billion dollars in loan volume according to trade publication inside. Mortgage Finance Wells. Fargo was number two with about ninety five billion dollars in funded mortgages the New York Times predicts that the surge in refinance applications will be good for lenders however ultra low interest rates also put pressure on lenders profits and of course the picture couldn't be more unpredictable or complicated because of other economic factors like a potential recession that could force some people default on all kinds of loans that would also reduce bank earnings clearly so says the Wall Street Journal in the story gloomily entitled. Everything is awful all at once for. Us banks. But we digress. Now it would seem to be a great time to refinance a kind of a couple of reasons to think maybe not so much I. The process could be time consuming. Right second though systemically. Low rates quickly became harder to find last week. The average rate rose slightly but the rates lenders were actually offering spiked on March eleventh by March. Housing wire suggested that some lenders are inflating their advertise mortgage rates to try to stem the tidal wave of mortgage applications. One Lender told CNBC. Just that there were advertising rates as high as seven percent. But if you could get through to a mortgage processor you might get alone for less than three percent. The inflation stemmed from lenders need to process the flood of applications. They've already received not an easy task. Many trunk their staffs over the past several months anticipating higher interest rates the perfect storm fewer workers more applications left lenders overwhelmed Matt Weaver Vice President of sales at Cross Country Mortgage Tolsey NBC.
