We had dominique dawes. Who was part of the ninety six gymnastics team that won gold medal in gold medal in atlanta. And she said she had a similar situation in two thousand but she couldn't articulate it she couldn't there was one for her to go and talk to and and she really feels as i do and others that this really and what naomi did i that they're saying putting their hands up and going like you know self care is not being selfish and i really applaud that they are doing that and opening up a much needed dialogue about mental wellness. If she had pulled a hammy if she broke you know we'd be the first ones to go and understand it just because you can't see a a an issue a challenge that someone is going through an elite athlete or anybody in any walk of life and they're going through these kind of issues with gotta talk about it we gotta get it out there and she has laid the platform to have that. Discussion is one hundred percent. Agree with everything. You're saying robin it's so important. And as all eyes are on the games. The science changes embed bay get the information they based on data and that's what makes these guidelines have to be reexamined from time to time. It is frustrating. What is it gonna take. It's gonna take a more people becoming vaccinated. And i know that what we're going through right now is not helping that those people who do not want to get vaccinated. They hear the recent news about those of us that are can still become infected and 'cause the transmission but the doctors all insists the experts all insists that if you are vaccinated it's still decreases your chances and if you do my doctor said the same thing to me. "Okay joy which your take on this. I'd just like to tell everybody. That sexual abuser is writing in jail. And i hope he rots there. But you know i was thinking about how kids in this country. Lately i keep hearing about this. I might be wrong but it seems like they're being raised to be the best at something. The best you know. There's a lot of pressure on kids to be the best. She was only fourteen years old when she really started this whole thing. I just think it's too much on all children to be told that they have to be the best in anything whether you're in the olympics are just in any kind of elementary school. It's very bad idea. You should excel for sure and you should do the best you can but to be the best now. That's wrong and i feel. I feel bad for this child. I really do. I think that she suffers because of what happened to her as a child and continues to play car. Probably well i. I think just as we go to break that i'll say this simone biles says she needed a break and she's taken a break doesn't mean she's not coming back to compete in this olympics and i think when she's ready she will get out there and she will kick butt and for all the naysayers. I dare one of you to try one thing that she has done. Just do a back flip. See we always sitting here with behinds getting big. Nobody can do this backflip. So you know what back off and watch a pro do magic. We'll be right back. Workum back celebrity couple. Mila kunis and ashton coulda toll dax shepard on his podcast that unless they actually see dirt on their children. They don't give them a path and people went beserk and then ended with the exception of washing their hands. You know on a daily basis and certain other areas. They don't baid often either. I don't think that's they don't pay. They may not as often as like some. What do you think of. This should should people be expected to take daily shower. I'm the stinks person. You know right now so son. Can you live without your daily shower. No i enjoy a daily shower. Think it kind of sets the tone of my day. And if i've worked out. I definitely want to take a shower after working out. I don't like to comment on people's parenting. But know there are four and six. And they didn't pay them as newborns. I think megan can attest to this. A newborn with the real smelly poop. Bath kids that are running outside and being athletic my kids are. They need only two seconds joy. Oh about you we think. Is this a hygiene problem. I think it stinks. That's what i think. I think i know at least as often as bernie gets washed. Next how do you are you a daily shower. I shower every day. "Back. The gymnasts considered the greatest of all time. Simone biles surprise the olympics by announcing she's withdrawing from some events for a reason she thinks more people should take to heart take a look no injury thankfully and that's why i took a setback because i didn't wanna do something silly out there and get injured so i thought it was best if these girls took over and did the rest of the jobs then really stressful this olympic games. I think just as a whole not having an audience there a lot of different variables going into it. It's been a long week. It's been a long olympic process. It's been a long year So just a lot of different variables. I say Put mental health first. Because if you don't then you're not going to enjoy your sport and you're not gonna succeed as much as you want to. So it's okay sometimes to even sit the big competitions to focus on yourself because it shows how strong competitor in person that you really are mouser. You've been very open about mental health. You understand her decision. I one hundred percent understand her decision in meyer her for the strength to recognize that so the problem with mental health is when you're an athlete and you break your foot you can show people what that is and there's a clear line of rehabilitation and getting back on your feet mental illness and mental health. And it's delicate nature elusive. It can sneak up on you and even when you've you've gone through a low before had anxiety it can creep back in when you least expect it and you may not be able to identify it right away but it will do its damage. Anyway it can be a crippling paralyzing like i. It can things that you took for granted like saying a sentence. You can forget what you're going to say in the not. Remember what you said and it can get you in your head now with an athlete at this level. Some of the judges were scoring her down so as not to incentivize other gymnasts to do some of the level of difficulty simone biles has done in her in her routines. The scary part about that is if you're tiger woods and you're having an off day and you go to the golf course it's fine no one's going to get hurt. You have an off day. Or you're in your head in gymnastics at this level. She could really have hurt herself to to a level that would have defined the rest of her career. If there was any left to have had. Now the one thing. I want to say it broke my heart when she said i hope america still loves us or loves me that insecurity just like tug on my heart to me. I don't define an athlete by medals or rings or anything else. I look at them for how they redefined the sport and she has done that. Her greatness was not diminished. In the least for me and i speak for anyone. I've talked to bravo megan out. Would you feel about her announcement. And i was just surprised. You know i could set on this show last week. I was just looking forward to watching her compete. She is the greatest gymnast of all time. If not the greatest staff. Deathly i mean. Definitely in not sports. She's just incredible. I think i never judge what's going on. You never know what's going on with someone behind closed doors. It doesn't matter. Some of the most famous wealthy accomplished people. I've ever met in my entire life for the most miserable. So and how the most demons and when you're competing on that kind of level god knows the kind of pressure i cut do it. I'm nowhere near olympic athletes. So i hope she knows. America loves her. I hope that i can watch her compete again. I hope she gets to a place where she feels the support she needs an for whatever. It's worth one of the statements. It was put out Was talking about her sexual trauma with her coach. That had been happening to her since she was a child and the sexual abuse that her coach had done to her and many people on the olympic team and the olympic team and the olympics needs to start protecting people especially young women from things like that that went on for years and the fact that it's playing a role in this and her not being able to compete in the olympics is particularly tragic sunny. Does this take. This told that she's taking on as an olympian. As as as the dominant woman we see. Do we think we might be putting a little too much pressure on. These athletes athletes their elite athletes. And so they certainly put a lot of pressure on themselves but in terms of the pressure being put on on olympic athletes. One need only look at the twenty twenty. Hbo documentary that. Michael phelps did and it's called the weight of gold and he outlines his own mental health struggles and the fact that he spoke to a lot of other olympic athletes. And he said this he said. I think it took five olympics for me to really see it. I think me being in the mental state that i was going into two thousand sixteen allowed me that opportunity to be open to have the interactions that i had with other athletes and that led me to believe that there are others that are struggling and struggling very very hard even with his battle with depression being an olympic athlete remember. He's the most decorated olympic athlete of all time. He contemplated suicide. And so really. When you think about Simone byles you know like megan said she did have this terrible trauma of sexual assault by her team doctor. Somebody that she trusted. I've spent years working with sexual assault survivors and it really takes mental toughness to be able to take care of yourself and your mental wellbeing. What i'm disgusted again by today. As are people saying that she's a quitter are people saying that. She doesn't have mental toughness. You don't get to be simone biles without that kind of mental toughness. How dare they and the bottom line is this is about to die self be true and that is what she's doing. She's taking care of herself her mental wellness health. And that is what's most important here. She is the goat and she will continue to be the goat..

"All americans are going to say is the truth so that laura ingram and tucker and those other unpatriotic traders over there at fox. Don't have any of those clips to show. All they can show is the truth so that's why they're mocking the police. They have nothing and by the way. Here's another little positive something that i took away from yesterday in texas. Yesterday there was a special election in which the trump backed candidate lost. So maybe the base is getting smaller. Maybe the independence in this country are getting smarter and really going against the lies and the mendacity. That's coming out of the republican party. Which is a disgrace disgrace as sunday. Put it. i won't go any further right. Megan these cops were protecting republican and democratic officials. Why why isn't this a galvanizing moment for everyone. Is it really about just winning. Or is it and we lost something. I agree with what you're asking. We'll be that it's confusing. I this is being politicized because again is extremely dark day in american history. Definitely one of our darkest days ever it was just horrific to watch. I can't even fathom what it would have been like to be a law enforcement officer defending the capital in that in that time. I'm equally grossed out by anyone trying to mock the trauma of a law enforcement officer especially. Because you're right sarah. Blue lives matter is something that many republicans say that. I certainly have said and believe alternatively. I don't like people on the left politicizing these particular law enforcement officers because i can remember just a few months ago being told that all ron forcement were irredeemable and needed different kinds of training and should be funded and there aren't just a few bad apples. It's an entirely irredeemable Group of people working in law enforcement. That's why we're having so many problems particularly in washington. Dc getting people to come and be recruited to join law enforcement. There's record numbers of police officers. Retiring all across the country because they don't feel respected and they don't feel supported and they don't feel like they can do their jobs so when you're saying de fund the police it's not just about Cities it's about places like the capitol that are vulnerable that are protecting. You know some of the most powerful people in all of america doing the most serious of job so i would hope that politics on both sides would be removed for this and we could take this as a teachable moment about just how valuable police officers and law enforcement are and that the narrative and the rhetoric from the past year has been equally dangerous. And i just want to send my support to these police officers because these people on capitol hill and the rest of the country are paid very little and they are called to do the hardest jobs and put their life on the line every single morning. Which is nothing that no pundit in any studio on any network ever is called to do and i think everyone should have a lot more respect for police officers and watch that testimony if you for some reason still. Don't i applaud everything. Everyone is saying. But i have to point my finger to the other side. And this isn't about a politicizing. These men and women were protecting as i said. In the beginning both sides of the aisle they weren't there as just protecting republicans or democrats. Their job was to protect everyone there and for anyone on the left or the right to denigrate what. They did how they did it. I know that kevin mccarthy suggested that Who wanted to know why. The offices didn't have the training and equipment. They needed the man he they should have talked to. Are the house and sergeant at arms. Both home resigned. They were on the police. They were on the board. So this is not about defunding anybody. This has nothing to do with anything but really crappy behavior by really inspired people by the guy that used to live in the white house. That's what this is about. This is not about anything but rapid behavior saying again on the other side of the aisle. We'll.

"Topics dart live right now. Well good morning hello. Welcome to the view yesterday. The house committee investigating the january. Six insurrection was captivated by police accounts of the hell and hatred. They faced while trying to protect elected officials from rioters at the capitol. Take a look of the giving cpr to one of the writers who breached the capital in an effort to save her life. That i finally had a chance to let my family know that i was allied out to push my wife away from me because she wanted to hug me more than six months later. I'm still trying to recover from my injuries. I've been left with the psychological trauma in the emotional anxiety of having survived such a horrific event in my children continue to deal with the trauma of nearly losing their dad. That day. i feel like i went to hell and back to protect them in the people in this room but too many are now telling me that hell doesn't exist or that hell actually. Wasn't that bad. Truly nothing has prepared me to address. Those elected members of our government who continued to deny the events of that day and in doing so betray their oath of office. I told them to just leave the capital and response. They showed no man. This is our house. President trump invited us here. We're here to stop the steel. Do my best to keep politics out of my job but in this circumstance i responded. Well i voted for joe biden. Is my vote count. Am i nobody. That prompted a torrent of racial epithets. One woman in a pink maggot shirt yelled you here. That guys voted for joe biden. All of them were telling us from us. Nobody else there was nobody else sunny. Would you think when you watch that. Gut wrenching testimony yesterday. Well i was devastated by what i heard by what i saw. Four courageous brave officers men. Who are clearly still suffering from. Ptsd i was. I think that it's clear that this is the face of domestic terrorism because that is what happened on january sixth. I was also just so taken aback by the racism that was front and center during the hearing yesterday with these brave men being called racial slurs while they were trying to protect not only. I think our capital but our democracy and i'm also disgusted and dismayed by the reaction of republican leadership and republicans in congress who are either not watching this who are downplaying it. Someone like kevin mccarthy who is supposed to be the leader is saying things like. I'm too busy to watch it other. Congress people that are saying that. It's not bipartisan. When you have. Liz cheney there an atom king's inger and i was also disgusted by people like laura ingraham fox news who is speaking to her millions of viewers and awarding medals to these brave officers and claiming that it was performed live as well as tucker carlson who last night was laughing at some of the testimony and mocking these brave men. I'm disgusted quite frankly whoopie at some of the reactions to that brave testimony. Sarah how important is it for americans to see and hear this testimony it. It's so important because you know one thing that happens with time is it starts to fade the reality of that day. There was a poll that showed that last month. Sixty six percent supported a commission to look at january six then now only fifty eight percent and what i see there as republicans running down the clock toward midterms. They're trying to let time pass. So it fade so it doesn't it's not as important so maybe it can be rewritten. There are things about that day. That i like any concern. American citizens should wanna know. In addition to potentially congressional members giving tours in the days leading up to the january sixth insurrection. You also have a lot of military people that were part of that day. How did that radicalization happen. Like we should want to know that. If you care about this country. I also think that you know oftentimes on the right. You hear about supporting the blue the police. It's the party of the military. That's the proud members that support our military so fervently and always have. Although we all do that that tends to be something that falls on the right. If you care about the police if you care about the military you have to care about what happened on january six and we also are in the midst of talking about raising crime. Crimeline crime rates everywhere. The country's going to hell in a handbasket. Then you have to care about the crime on january. Sixth that happened. If you don't get to the bottom of it repeats itself. And i was just going to echo. What sunny said i. I saw the laura ingram clips and to me. There was a time where we could agree to disagree. You can use your words and you can have a conversation and ended up on different sides of the aisle or a conversation but you to mock someone like. We wonder why we're having issues with kids committing suicide and bullying when grown adults take a platform like that and mock someone's trauma in that way you're setting the example and it's disgusting so joe. What did you take away from. Yesterday's hearing i agree with what both saron sunny have said already. So i wasn't surprised by the reports that they gave about racism. A lot of this. This insurrection was based on white supremacy and racism. So it's not shocking. That one of these deplorables would use that racial epithet. I was thinking first of all. Forget about the republican party ever being called the law and order party. That's done so but mccarthy made a mistake didn't he. He made a mistake. He was offered to have a bipartisan committee. So that he could put the liars there jim jordan and the rest of these guys holy and meadows and all these other liars he could put them there and he said no not that she was going to allow it because if he picked those people which eventually did pelosi got rid of them so but he never had anybody and it so it must be driving trump. The hit man out of his mind watching this. I was taking some solace in that fact yesterday that he's home saying where's my jim jordan. Where's my roy. Cohn he always was yelling mad. Where's my side now..
'Jaws' Expert Valerie Taylor Tells What It's Like to Get Bitten by a Shark
"A debate brewing over sharks Should shark bites be called attacks or just encounters as beachgoers. Witness survivors getting rushed to the hospital viral video posted just this weekend showing a hammerhead shark in Panama City Beach getting a little too close to swimmers. Some wildlife experts are pushing to rebrand interactions with the ocean's apex predator, calling them bites, negative encounters or incidents instead of attacks. I would say any time we're painting any wildlife as interested in harming humans. We're reducing people's positive feelings about them. People's desire to see them conserved and protected and increasing the likelihood that people see them as Villains or antagonists. For years. They've been the bad guys in movies like Jaws. We're gonna need a bigger coach and the Meg about a massive megalodon shark. But experts say in reality shark bites are rare and that using language like attack gives a false impression of intent. Page winter who was bitten by a shark in 2019, losing part of her leg. Told all Robin Roberts she didn't see her encounter as the Sharks fault. This situation has urged me to learn more about sharks. I didn't do something directly to the shark, but I was in his water. You know, That's his house. But Dave Pearson, who survived a shark attack in Australia and now runs a support group called Bite Club says avoiding the word attack downplays the very real danger. We can't keep sanitizing things to the point where we It feels like when you're the person involved. It feels like someone's dismissing your experience and dismissing your troller is something that's insignificant. You need to be aware that there is an element of danger out there and we call them Apex predators for a reason. And predators bite things. Even Stephen Colbert weighing in on the debate. I'm sorry, ma'am, a shark interacted with your husband's torso. He's experiencing a not being alive. Incident. Whatever they're called. Officials are taking these encounters seriously in Cape Cod, where at least 50 confirmed great white shark sightings have been reported this past month on the APP, shark tive, itty. Researchers deployed acoustic receivers to track great whites to keep people safe. It's a really valuable way to find out more about the movement of great white sharks. That's important information for the public to know when they are going to the beach. You know where they might be more likely to encounter a white shark. When you're at the beach. Look for signs of sharks. If there are seals in the water. There might be sharks nearby, because they eat seals. If there are birds flying in the air, that means they're looking for fish that sharks are also probably looking for. So if you do go swimming, try to go in pairs in groups Just be smart. Generally and also remember that unprovoked shark bites are exceedingly rare. There were fewer than 100 globally just last year at CBC's will review coming

I want to thank you for shining a light on those of us on the front lines the past your husband. Tough one of the things. That's made it easier. People like you. Who are grateful for what we do and no were not taken aback. When you cry in fact. I am so accustomed to it that i now tell crying patients. It's okay. Tears are a common side effect of the vaccine. Oh me that is so say first of all that. So fucking scott is so sweet so sweet i love it and it's a good thing that nurses are not taken aback by tears. Because loads of you out there wrote in to say you also cried. When you received your vaccine overseer among them bass best says. I just wanted to say thank you to kristen for being open about crying during after her first shot of the vaccine. I had my first dose last week as soon as i got to. The vaccination site a started welling up at how organized calm and friendly. Everyone was there. Were posterboards up for folks to write on while they waited after getting the shot asking things like who will you hug i and what do you think normal life would look like in a year. I sat in my car and bald before driving home. I'm glad i'm not the only one that's interesting. It's so weird. Because i feel like my vaccine site i think we went to the same site to was such like. I feel like the vibe daily too. Because the the first time i went it was people being like after they would like side and get on this street and the second one i went to everyone was like like we're doing it and i was like it's just such a. It's such a odd collective experience. You know we're so used to like movies and concerts and theater shows to have a one of our collective experiences be like hitting. A shot is so interesting. Yeah i mean..

"Yes i think that's such a good point you know it's not just similar and i'm in no way acquitting issues of sexism with issues of racism but i feel like a lot of women went through a similar sort of retaking stalk of experiences after like say the metoo movement may be changed a line of thinking for them and it was like. Oh my gosh. All these times that. I sort of blame myself for a stuff like that was a teacher being sexist. That was a fellow freshman like being a huge creep. Not me being like asking for it. You know something like that where it's like oh right. I'm really taking stock of all of these experiences and being like i don't need to lie to myself in a more people are racist like this happened. That happened And i feel like it's such an chant part of of dealing with racism as a as a society as a whole is making space time to listen to these experiences. So thank you for sharing them. And thank you joe linda. Let's move on to a listener. Who wrote in about the reasons comments christon received during this past episode. Veronica wrote into say kristen. I was appalled to hear the racist actions. You've suffered and when you read the racist and sexist responses to your posts. I wanted to say. I can't believe someone could write that but the truth is i believe that easily thankfully i never received the outright physical abuse that you described but as a bi racial black and latina woman. I am all too familiar with the types of messages you read. Yeah i mean it's one of the uae abilities unfortunately of being a woman of color on the internet. I mean there've been repeated studies done on this that women of color who take a week or a month to change their profile photo to a white man suddenly all the abusive you know ams and comments. They just evaporate. Suddenly you're not a dumb dumb who speaking out of turn. Maybe you're not overly sensitive anymore. Maybe you're actually smart and your ideas are respected but Yeah i have never done that personally myself. I've never done the thing where i'm like. I'm going to be a white guy online for a while. Just like i don't want to do it. I already know that is the fact and it just shows so much. How like how obviously like we have some sort of social hierarchy that we say we don't have when it's like the second people wanna lash out. They are gravitating towards those that they consider a lower status quote unquote and not those high status white guys are or god forbid a white guy with an english accent. They're the hottest you know what i mean. Thank god we're so transparent. Let's move on to some happier stuff. Because i could go down a road right. Yes yes yes britney wrote to say. I love hearing about joe. Lynch's new cain one of the things. I've been most excited to do after the pandemic is go to a theme park since i've never been to one since accepting that i sometimes need mobility aids so my only experience with amusement parks.

"We are back with listener comments about everybody's got something by robin roberts and let's no hear from some people who have specific feedback for us. Jolanta many of you first and foremost were incredibly grateful to you. Want to for continuing to be open about your struggles with lupus. I- kristen jolanta. I just wanted to follow up and they thank you to dilemma for being so forthcoming with her. How concerns and struggling to be a productive person dealing with so many changes as someone who is diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at twenty two. I felt like i was the only one my age dealing with these issues. Especially on watching. Commercials for my. I'd bet only feature grandparents about the way you make the rules of the book for you. I'm being honest about how hard it is. Incredible source of support for me Yes i didn't realize there wasn't a lot of like a young people. Representation in the autoimmune commercial like auto-immune medicine commercial world might. Yeah if you look at it sort of the the way. A lot of autoimmune diseases are presented is for old people only and it's weird to see commercials for my medicine where it's like. Are you an old grandpa. Who's having trouble like holding his grandson's hand and i'm like now i'm a young bitch is having trouble like fucking in the position. She used to buck in. That's what i feel. Like sometimes. So i'm glad i can help. Make people like under the age of fifty feel a little scene. And if you're over fifty. I like you deserve to be seen more chew. I mean in the autoimmune medical community a lot of people. I'd say over thirty are represented on television commercials breakdown. Tv commercial representation stats. Oh yes same for magazines. Not that we read magazines very often anymore. These days each through a magazine at the doctor's office yeah. The ads are a very specific demographic. Yeah and and that demographic is not mutual winter. no above had this to say to you also jolanta. I have been struggling with chronic illness. More severely in the last four years.

"Whose books we didn't love interviews with authors whose books we did love. We're talking everyone from shad homestead or to a net and steve economies. That's right america's cheapest family they are all there in by the books. Stitcher premium feeds. Chuck it out now. Let's get back to our many episodes. Shall we because we got so much less than our mail about our robin roberts. Everybody's got something episode. So let's start with some letters from listeners. Who have read this book as well. Yes lauren says robin roberts outdid herself on. This book is both inspirational and inspiring. The one constant that. I took away from. The book was the gratitude and appreciation. She has and had for her family friends and colleagues. One other thing i thought was very nice. Was how robin continually mentioned. The fact that it saddens her that many people have gone through or are going through the same things she has but they don't have the resources that she does to the best medical care have the best doctors and so on. Her sense of perspective is a true rarity and not just among celebrities. I agree you know. I just had a thought. I feel like the celebrities who also tend to work in journalism are better at keeping more perspectives in mind. I think i feel like we noticed that with even manezh rodas book. Oh yes brilliant. We noticed that in dan harris's book which we didn't love but we love the fact that he could acknowledge that he has resources that a lot of people don't yes very very true. Don't want to. I guess all of the interviews that they've done with real people with not real people journalism all of the above. You know. I suppose it's hard to only live in your own head when you're constantly talking with other people who are doing things like living through a hurricane or Living through other tragedies because that so much of what journalists are doing are talking with people who are really at the toughest points in their lives. Good point oh my gosh. That's all on u joe onto your you expanded my point to make it even more good wisconsin's on okay. Well let's move on. Let's do it. Here's a letter from someone who has not yet read the book but plans to do it. Hillary says i just finished listening to your latest. Podcast about robin roberts book. My mom is going through.

"Way in the past and people will have gotten themselves in control enough to go wait a minute and realize how how their liberties are being squished and taken and they're willing and i'm like me i with you. I love to travel but all all the places in the. Us haven't seen yet. And here's my thought about that. Money talks us walks so when we start shopping with our dollars and say that's fine. American airlines you will be on your plate. I won't travel and when enough people aren't getting on the plane because eighty percent of the population has not gotten the shot yet. They're going to do. They're gonna lift the mandate because they want their clients full. You're gonna ease up. They're going to ease up because they want people in those seats because that makes money for them and unless the government's willing to bail them out year after year after year and a half to change their strategies to just like we change our strategies and business. That's that's that's right. So i love again. You see i'll find a way around it and and my passionate about telling people you you have a mind. You have a choice. You don't have to do everything they're telling you. You have to do. Think think think so so precipice. We always digress on this show. We going on by two different ways. But that's also you know. What are some last tips or tricks that you wanna share with our listeners. About things that they can do to start putting their mind in a better place while number one. Is that breathing. So setting that mitt. S- taking those three deep breaths in through the nose out through the mouth and it sounds so simple but doing that in particular and simply turning off television. And i'm thinking. I'm saying that people have televisions in their bedrooms. Stop stop it. please please stop it. I took my my over ten years ago. And i don't miss it at all. Listen to a lovely podcast or the best bed for two things. Sleep and sex. That's it you don't do the tv for those two things. There you go there you go and a i. Actually i do have recordings available. One is drifting to sleep. One is called a fifteen minute reboot to listen to in the middle of your day. So i have those available on my website. I also have the clear vision workshop and that workshop is really about kind of corralling funky mind and getting it to work four years because that whole the whole manifesting thing it works because part of why it works because you are Enacting you're engaging your retailer acting system and now it's looking for what you want but of course if you don't know what you want it's not gonna find it and i love that like going to a travel agent saying okay. I don't wanna go to saint louis. Yeah so you have to get focused and choose something which can be hard right because when you choose something you might fail it you gotta let that go you gotta say this is what i want and this is how i'm gonna start noticing it so so that's an avenue a particular my workshop that i have that i would offer. I love that. I love that and i do that same thing like if i have a night where i know annapolis lethal. We all have those nights where your brain's just on you're fired up about something you know. You're not mislead. i go to youtube. And i find myself advice. Hypnotic sleep audio takes my mind out of whatever it's thinking about and puts it into something else and then i can sleep yes. I will often tell people who come for that particular reason to see me is as you lay down in bed at night. Just imagine the you have a box and you are putting everything in that box and if you need to like write it down they provide that write it down and set it down because you see your subconscious mind is just trying to keep it for you so if you write a damn you see subconscious mind. Now it's safe. You can rest. It will rest but if it has to keep the plates spinning while you sleep. It's not doing a great job. Refreshing your body so so do that and then as you go to sleep find whether it's your own mantra or your statement of i'm resilient i experienced resilience every day because the last thing you think is what your subconscious might holes for the rest of the night interesting. That's great tip integrate Robin i want to be mindful of your time. 'cause we could talk for hours. I had this conversation. How can people reach you. How do they get in touch with you. If they're resonating with what you're talking about. They want to be part of this clear vision workshop. What's the best way for the very cheap great well. "Dot com welcome. Robin is so great to have you here unless talk wellness now share. How you got started in but power of the mind. You fuck such nice eclectic background from an actress to a speaker to business degree in hypnosis tells you bought excited and introduced to the amazing power of the mind. Well thank you for having me. I really excited to be here and happy to share my story. I was actually you talk about eclectic. Okay we were raising alpacas redoing. How and that was back in the mid 'oughts when the business the economy was going. No we're not anywhere quickly. We needed another source of income. And my brother was doing hypnosis for fun. Now he's a pilot and he was for fun and he said you. You should do hypnosis shows. You know you got the acting thing that speaking thing you should do hypnosis shows so i trained but i did not do a show for three years i decided to do clinical work and then i did do shows and i still do shows but that is not the major part of my business but that is how i ended up doing hypnosis and it is fascinating now i will say i've always been interested in the power of the mind. I have always taken those classes in those courses and written down my goals with great intensity and then gone Why didn't that come true. So instead of being discouraged. I definitely have just dived right in to to see how the mindset affects things and of course what you know as you study it is. It's everything everything comes from the mindset so in my first few years of practicing a test i it's okay. It was fine. But then i really. I started working with people and people come in and they're like i had this problem which yes but i what i saw was there didn't know they had the power to get out of it and and it just compels me to you can change. You have the power and will. It's all great to tell people that you know that to ninety five will get you a tall it. You know that coffee shop down the road you gotta show them how and you've got to reinforce it and you've got to help them understand that they have this power and now in the last year plus it has become even more compelling to me as i see people in fear as i see people making decisions out of fear i have liked stab at stubby at you. Have the power to change your world and so that has really compelled me to kind of put it into higher gear and go forward good for you. I love that story. I got started in the world of mathis to your destiny. Like i was really young. I was like twenty six twenty seven and loved that role in manifesting started learning about hypnosis to it. I never practiced it. Nelson really just did it more for myself. But i always loved what it could do for you and a couple of years ago i met with my manifestation coach. Just were friends. We don't work together anymore. But she's like you still have your notes from the first time we worked together. And i'm like yeah i do and she. She encouraged me to pull them out because she remembered most of the things that i have wanted back that and i didn't remember most of that but i pulled them out and like eighty five percent of the things i wrote down at that time had come through in my life and this was probably about six or stab probably seven or eight years after i started working with her and i was blown away. I was like oh my gosh and did a lot of work in a lot of wayne dyers work and a lot of the secret and all that kind of stuff but it was incredible to me but i do we all lose it sometimes right and i was in our super negative place a few years ago and just everything was horrible. At you know. I don't want to do anything anymore. Irving's horrible watch and one of my dearest friends said to me dab everything in your life is perception. It's how you perceive it. And i remember when she said that to me really struck indoor nerve for me and i was like yes. Thank you help exactly. Like i want to listen to you. Hope and then. I remembered like i had stopped doing a lot of that mind work. A lot of that meditated work a lot of that deep inner spiritual work. And when i started like every time i thought something i'd hear in my head i hear her say all in your perception. How are you proceeding this. And it's just nailed me every single time and it finally was what pulled me out of it because i couldn't get myself out of that negative space. I realized everything. That was happening to me that i thought was horrible. Really wasn't horrible. It was just how i was perceiving at. Yes it was it was just what was coming at you and what you were going to do with it. We're going to embrace it and go okay. Why is this happening. How can it be useful. What's good about it And when folks come to me. I will say that when we'll know we're done when you can go. Wow that was either a blessing a gift or lesson and that you no longer have that. Oh my god i like. I'm overwhelmed and so when you get to that place where you can see that. We're that puzzle piece fits that you're at peace with that and you can move forward and it's no longer running your.
The Bachelor Star Colton Underwood Comes out as Gay
"Underwood was a former bachelor on the show. He was branded as the virgin bachelor and he ended up with this girl. Cassie they are not together anymore. That is bare bones of what you need to know. If you remember me of someone jumping offense that's also did you can let that go from your brain if that's not important to you okay. So that's talk about colton. He came out as gay. He made the revelation in an interview. With robin roberts today on. Abc's good morning. America obviously like this year's been a lot for a lot of people and it's probably made a lot of people look themselves in the mirror and figure out who they are and what they've been running from or what they've been putting off in their lives and for me I've ran for myself for a long time. I paid myself for a long time. And i'm gay. And i came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing. Colton told roberts that he remembered god when he was selected for the bachelor because he believed his prayers asking to be made straight had been answered would start in the twenty third season of the bachelor where his supposed virginity was a hot topic. He's also remembered for an iconic shot of him over a fence contestant. Cassie randolph. Like i told you whom he dated for two years. It should also be noted that after the pair broke up randolph filed a restraining order against underwood over allegations. You stalking her specifically. She claimed that he put a tracker under her car.

"Coltie gesture revealed on good morning. America a big confession ran for myself for a long time. I hated myself for a long time. And i'm gay and i came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing and The next step in all of this this sort of letting people know. But i think overall the reason why now is because i got to a place where. I didn't think i was ever going to share this. I don't. I would have rather died than say i'm gay And i think that was sort of my wakeup call. You can hear the shaking and his voice. How scared and nervous. He was to Tell this news now. Colton revealed he had suicidal thoughts that led him to finally take control of his life and come to terms with the fact that he is gay and wanted to share that with the world. So what was your reaction to the news. Well i think for me. I when i watched the interview i felt so paint for him. I think so. Many people can resonate with this emotion. Right you are battling who you are for so long. And i think people around you are going to accept you and love you but you have to accept yourself first so i think his struggle resonates with so many people who are searching for their identity or searching for who they really are and i was actually just really sad that it took him this long like i always think back like you wanna live your life for yourself right you wanna live for yourself so i'm just happy that he finally made the decision to share this publicly and i also think is there anyone better to sit across then robin roberts to here. This is just so much empathy. So i just hope that people really rally behind him especially batch nation plans you know and just support him through this. This is not easy to go through publicly and good for him for finally speaking

Speak your truth as you are today. I got into a place. For me and my personal life. That Was dark and bad and I can list a bunch of different things, but they'd all be excuses. I think that was sort of my wake up call. Did you ever think about harming yourself? Yeah. Um There. There is a moment in l A that I woke up. And I didn't think I was gonna wake up. "That's right. Number three. If you could switch lives with anyone for a day. Who would it be? Ooh, probably Robin Roberts. I think she just lives like a glorious life where sometimes just like she and like the Poconos or something, I don't know. But I'm also like interviewing the biggest country music star. And I'm thinking, I'm Michelle Obama and then like LeBron just call. So I'm gonna talk to him to you know, let's see my my aunt her liar. You be touches everything right is not administration that seems like that could be that could be your future goal. Number four. What's the most scared you've ever been? Most scared I've ever been you know, it's gotta be that that first Rose Bowl that. I did. I just I thought it was like the ending or the beginning of everything for me. It was either going to like end, and I was not going to have a job or going to be like the beginning of a catapult. And I don't think it was either one of those. I think I'm just dramatic you go. Well, I have one of my favorite quotes is from Tom petty. Most things I worry about never happen. Anyway, reminder to me often when I'm like freaking out about something that either the bad things not going to happen. Or if it does it's probably not be nearly as bad as making it out to be in. It helps me from being anxious about stuff back number five. What's the most embarrassed you've ever been? Most embarrassed our and so many times, I don't even know like. What is oh. So one time me, and my friend when I was in college, we tried to make like our own ID's because why wouldn't you do something stupid like that where we were even so stupid that we tried to do it at our student athlete academic center and left the copies of the fake ID in the copy machine. So that our administrators could find it, and we had to like have a meeting with him that she did is trying to do it was a project for because we're idiot idiot. You're so dumb. And every time. I see a kid does something I'm like. Yep. Could have done that. Yeah. I mean, I could have been arrested in that could've been a federal phone tone. I turn out to judge about stuff like that. Because I'm like, oh, I definitely got rides from strangers right? Could it be? I could be dead. I had the best fake ID. When I was a freshman up. I didn't drink till a junior in college because I was like so with my school and sports and stuff and also because no one can tell when I'm drunk 'cause I'm like all the time when I'm sober. But this this idea was a fake Georgia. That said I was five three. And I weighed one fifteen and it wasn't me. Like, there was not a thing about it. Other than roundabout like nothing about it. And I barely had to use it. But it worked in Newport Beach when we're trying to go to the bars during our track spring breaks. And and that was good enough. I guess they didn't really seem to care down there. But yeah, there's a there's a whole I'm sure everybody's got some story about like I just needed to be in the bar with everybody. And this is the absurd thing that I used to get it. I did never tried to make my own though. But I do have a story about that. But I'm pretty sure it was a federal fence. I'm not going to share it moving on on mine was a federal thin. So and my dad's the feds, oh, that's right, man. My mom's my dad's mom, and mom are lawyers..
