"Want to talk about time wilder to it. Looks like we're going to get Tyson wilder trilogy. Deontay wilder coming off. His loss to fury has decided to use his rematch clause. Which means they will fight again but if you expect a big entrance this time around think again while they're said that forty five pound somewhat ridiculous costume that he wore on his way to the ring over the weekend weekend his legs and impacted his fighting ability neck. I I'm sensing by. Soma crazy laughed at truth or excuse. Oh excuse. Here's what weakened his legs when he got. That would have been right here so it would have been the right hand to his ear. That totally ruined his equilibrium. That's what we can his legs but this is an all time great. Excuse I love it so much because a prove it's not true like He. He can go to his grave saying it was this forty five pound outfit that weakened my legs and he can tell everyone that and this is in line with boxing the annals of boxing of a guy gets whooped and then says wait. What dragonfly drones? A great follow on twitter. Brought this up last night and I had forgotten about it. You remember the no Moss Fight Roberto Duran Sugar Ray Leonard. When the most famous fights ever when sugar ray is just beating? Roberto Duran so badly he quits. No Moss. Can't do it anymore. After the fight. Roberto Duran said what happened was I had a hot cup of tea and then a cold couple of water and it ruined me hot. Cold water can't do it. That's why I lost as opposed to Sugar Ray Leonard Annihilating you. We all watched Tyson theory. Did to him. No one believes it's because of this costume but I love it. I think that is. It is an all time great post fight excuse and so is an excuse or is it the truth. I'd say both I'd say it in his mind. He is convinced themselves the truth maybe because his mind is still not from the feeding. And so yeah. I say it's the excuse and the Truth Greg Jennings Yeah. This is a big time. Excuse and what I don't like about. It is right. After the fight he gets interviewed and he talks about not having any excuses. But then we come out with this and maybe maybe did way down. But here's my problem. Like that wasn't the first time he tried this on. Like he knew how much weight right prior to walking in the end making his grand entrance but prior to even the fight he was pacing back and forth four four at least an hour. Like get off your legs. You don't think that had anything to do with it. I actually think the pacing at as much to do with it as the costume. What had to do with it was him he got hit so hard nosed or it was bleeding and it completely throws off your equilibrium. Anytime you've been hit like that. If throws off your ability to make put cohesive sentences together twenty four hours forty eight hours after the fight so perhaps we should take everything. Oh Sing Tao guys. As a coach in thought by him and it is only possible after when he's listen he's activating the as you mentioned the rematch clause. Yup and I said on this air yesterday. That if this happens Tim more times that. Tyson Fury Winston More Times I. Now it's taken me twenty four hours three minutes to myself. Deontay wilder can win. I believe it's because of the punch to the ear and the Costume. I'm on I'm on team Wyler once again. You know what I just saw happen. We all knew wilder could only win by landing one massive right hand. He was in the first fight. Fury was killing.

"Addicted at a dangerous level. The people close to him share his addiction. His mom has a Twitter feed based off being Durant. Mom. He's not alone. Steph Curry's wife is her own social media, brand, drain, Mons. Mom, is an is active on Twitter. They used to say a family that prays together stays together. Now families tweet together and beef with trolls together. I blame that. For Durant's tragedy, far more than the modern culture of sports are joining the desk now or Fox Sports, NBA analysts, Cotino Mobely, and Bleacher reports RIC. Bucher marcellus. I'll start with you. Who's more to blame sports culture or social media culture for Durant, well done Whitlock. I'm going to blame the sports coacher. First, let's not even go into the, the alternative here when we're talking about social media, and then how is a softer sports world? Remember, no moss nine thousand nine hundred Roberto Duran, no mom tap outright. Tap out. Beat him up pretty. Social media. We'll Facebook was looking like nine hundred eighty oh so callous examples, I'm not going down with that. This would Durant went through in the sports culture. I've been here before I think there are a few elements. We must highlight I every single athlete at I know once they get a contract, once they're big time wants to earn their keep I think that's a commonality would all work coaches. Hey, I'm here. They paid me. I wanna earn my keep I want to live up to this title after that, when you get injured. This is what happens people start knocking at your door. Remember, who these people are they know you address their close to you do your teammates. Do your coaches their executives. Here's, here's what I happen. Is your teammates come up to you? They don't actually how are you doing? They say you good, right? Little suggestive little leaning good, right? And then your coaches looking at you like man, half of you is better than most of all the other players in this league you could be K D, right? I mean it's just all this leaning in were pressured organization, and look, I been there before. So when nest starts to occur. What happens is the knocking at the door..

"Going against former four-time division world champion must see attraction. Adrian, the problem Browner pack. Ow. His in his fourth reign. One forty seven champ Browner is looking to begin a second rain and browner's no jump and this going to be good fight because pack. Ow is forty bronner's twenty nine and if they're both twenty nine it'd be pretty easy to call. But because browner's much younger it's going to be toe action. Anyway, that'd be tomorrow night. Nine pm eastern, six PM Pacific time on pay per view. All right. So what I thought I'd do with our Jay bell is. I thought why not let RJ interview me? And since we both love fights. I figure I could tell them about some of my greatest fights. And people are listening know a lot about some of the fights have been in. But I thought I'll do some deeper cuts, and we can get into it. I. One of the fights. I had was with a gym rat with a guy who worked for. He was he was a student at. Bodies in motion where I tried to teach. And and I fought this guy. So how old were you at this point? I was. I was like twenty nine I was trying to get a job as boxing coach at parties in motion. I just kind of gotten a job as a boxing coach. I was for some reason. And I can't remember why? But I was insanely light. I never weighed less than this amount. I was like a hundred I weighed myself, I remember like the gym scouts like one hundred sixty seven pounds or something which is insanely light for me. I was two hundred pounds in high school played football bubble, blah was was this because you're in great shape. Like, you were just caught in this. This was the pinnacle was doing a lot of Molly at the time. But I don't know. But I'm saying that's connected to the way loss of saying as an aside high energy I entered. So I was working out a lot. I was boxing. I this great combination. I was working boxing coach, and I was super poor. So it was a great combination for fitness later on. I got rich and got into radio. Exact- up like I went from sitting around while people like hooters brought over food every night to being super-poor, literally hungry and workings boxing, coach. So I was gonna Spar this guy and he's like one hundred fifty five pound guy. And I was like what's the problem? And I remember the guy owned the GM saying, oh, this guy's a freak. And I was like what do you mean? He's like he benches three seventy five or something. And he was like one fifty five and I was like bring it on. I'm on Molly. What's ever? Yeah. And also, I always had this expectation that when you Spar with somebody that they're literally sparring not fighting some your head headgear, right? Yeah. We had gear on but some guys don't Spar they fight. And I never know who those you never known Vance those guys are, and I don't think they known advanced there. Those guys either they just the bell rings, and they fight with this guy was so did you ever have Embiid of professional box. I had ambitions of amateur boxing. But I knew that it wasn't going to work. Like, I knew that. Like if you punch Roberto Duran Roberto Duran gets angry and wants to kill you. And if you punch me I get scared and go man that hurt and I realized that's the mindset the mindset of boxer has to have is way less than five percent of the population or even one percent of violation which you get hit, and you go now, I'm going to kill you for punching me versus I never want. You to hit me again shouldn't have done that. Yes..

It's all it's all set to when you talk about strategy. You know, when you're dropping an opponent's hands because you're working his body, you know, and then and the combinations. And so let's go to one of my favorite fights of all time. And it's Roberto Duran, of course. Okay. And it's the second fight, of course. And the cool thing about this is so many things so many things the number one thing is that you had the presence of mind to ask for a fight right away. And everybody didn't want you to do it. So I could you tell us about that. Why did you do that? Because. I do Durant Durant. I buy. He took out my gang play gets on my head. And although Hindley really, speak English. He got into my head. When you come back, and you're fighting the same fighter right now. He's already figured out. Like, okay. This is what this guy's going to do. Now. You know, this is what this guy is going to do. Okay. How do you change the way you're going to approach him? So that he's not coming at you. So that you're not coming at him the same way. Do you get us sparring partner? That's like him. Do you? Do you work on film? What do you do what happens to change your fight? All that all that. I mean is is that in the luge in or is all that stuff actually happening. Are you you look like you were using your whole body your torso the way a golfer swings through the ball? That's the way you seem to punch through your opponent. Is that what was going on? While you don't have the fundamental to know how to ask you. The proper punch is like you're not tight. "That's right. The outta my my on my mom's side, it's my my grandfather relation to the actress, Ana, they autumn ass- short. No, not not really. But yeah. Why not? I'm so somewhere. Did you see blade runner? Twenty forty, nine. I did not. She's the hologram love interest to Ryan Gosling. She tastic of course she's studying and astonishing and the lead in this film directing. But here's the point, congratulate you really. And yeah, she really, really is extraordinarily actually a great great movie and researching her hands of stone Roberto Duran. Oh right. Yes, story Edgar Ramirez, he's fantastic whole. Yeah. And it's it's arguably the best, boxing scenes I've ever seen a film of authenticity. I've digressed. So. But you know, I think Roberto Duran. When he reached the pinnacle and then you always have to have the slide from from success. Yeah, I think that happened in Miami if I'm not mistaken, I think he was was someone who suffered from the vices available to those who succeed. Well, you don't mind me, I think has had to recover from that. You know, PR slide in the eighties in terms of being the hub of cocaine and whatnot in that was a reality then. And I think Miami has really tried to, you know, to reshape the narrative, and I'm always looking forward to getting back home, you know, proud of all the the accomplishments that Miami has made and continues to grow. You know certain areas in Miami now that are vastly different than when I grew up. Up in what ways. The art scene, visual arts has has really exploded in Miami. So you know, you drive through certain neighborhoods and now there are these just eye-popping murals going up by these amazing artists. So they're feels like there's this homegrown and it's well. Yeah, it's homegrown. I mean, there's an art basil element to that as well. But a lot of these artists are from Miami. So you know. Around that art neighborhoods have begun to change. And so I if feels like there's a inertia, you know, creative inertia, momentum building in the city. And you know, I'd love to be a part of that in some way as a storyteller is and actors is a writer artist, you know, to develop something that may be reshapes the narrative from, you know, the Don Johnson, you know era, which was fantastic while it's in your hands. You do have your own pedigree as a writer, and I wanna talk about that process as well. "My life who tried to tell me lebron's amy because michael john i'm just gonna slap the hell out of right on the spot question axe next person who walked up to me say lebron james who is amazing amazing as good as michael jordan or competes like michael jordan i'm just construct the hell out of you right on the spot and i'm gonna take my chances judicial system charles barkley and you can you could be the biggest lebron fan and i've said it before i love the guy he's one of my favorite athletes ever to watch but tell me it didn't look like they gave up in that game i know quits a bad word to use for an athlete i know they were mentioning no moss during the broadcast no moss the roberto duran the famous lines by the roberto duran when he refused to to come out and fight and mark jackson made comment of it but tell me even even the biggest lebron supporters tell me it didn't seem like they kind of gave up in that game and this is the second time it's happened i i it's it's okay to just ignore college that he knew and look his behavior after game one i remember last week being on the air saying yet that one felt different because lebron's really picked his spots in the postseason and just the way he behaved on the court his demonstrative attitude with jr smith and then a few days later you saw the video come out of after he realized they had a time out the way he treated tyler do the way he wouldn't put his hand in the huddle until the until the very end just the way he reacted and then you find out he punched a board and and got a deep bone bruise in his hand a right after game one when you saw all of that play out you just knew that this was a different one he knew that was the key moment in the series but damn like he come out you get slaughtered by thirty we get it they're not as good of a team but tell me you didn't think the same thing.

"You would see guys like roberto duran and oh god what's now i'm thinking tony james toney like james lights out tony that guy it'd be like forty five and fat boxing in the heavyweight division but he wasn't getting hit have his hands up like he was so such a savvy veteran and so slick that whatever he lost in cardio training so you got a picture at this way you look at some like cardio well there's two ways you can make it ten rounds or twelve rounds one being amazing cardio shape stamina the other is barely move and so at a certain point james lights out tony who didn't like the treadmill and did like smoking cigars and and dr grows and things like that yeah and and dad bud pan guys like and guys like roberto duran at stuff look when you're forties nobody wants to go out and do bunch of roadwork at five am so they figured out well look i don't have to be fantastic cardio shape all after do is be super slick and it'll be the same as moving right so as a matter of fact i would i would venture to say that most guys you see cycling around your neighborhood the weekend warrior guys in their forties and fifties that the the dads are in shape like there's obnoxious guys were talk to these dads every once in a while i'm in a run group thing house that where we meet at my house at six am every monday wednesday friday we'll do like four or five miles and then shower and go to work out police so those guys could easily outrun a world class roberto duran or james lights out tony who is training for a heavyweight fight if it was just a five mile ten k job they'd beat them but if they got into ring with them they'd be gassed out.

"Cowboys and the new sheriff in towns fitz and brooks on cayenne vr six eighty sports lead there all the best part about a monday is that everything accumulates over the sports weekend and then we get to kind of sift through the inbox dump out a different topic or two and bouncing around a little bit buffets fitzgerald with you in san antonio get ready for the warriors in the spurs rod is off today so a lot of you at eight away camby are that is the text line number as well as the call in number so if you want to jump in on various items bring it at eight away camby are they i'm i'm wondering in which direction fans are most interested in discussing we were just in phoenix so ran into a bunch of giants fans as far as spring training and stuff like that it's kind of normal stuff and nothing to crazies happened in spring training we're going to talk to kevin franson at about two thirty and just get his take on where the giants are clearly april is going to be very important for the giants because they are jumping into the deep end of the pool right off the bat with a lot of dodger games want to see how they they play in the month of april then i don't know anybody if you like sports you always look at the redemption story in the comebacks and i was watching the thirty for thirty with roberto duran and sugar ray leonard but the tiger woods hole ideas making every golf tournament worth watching tiger very very good performance didn't get it done because there are guys that are just better golfers than him right now but at age forty two after not being really anything the last several years to see tiger on a leaderboard on a sunday back to back weeks is getting people excited particularly with the master's coming up which is when everybody gets really fired up about golfing tournament that tiger has won multiple times and you know that would be the the kind of epic comeback story if you could see that then i think rodney we're kind of talking about the.
