"Hey guys it's pablo here. As i'm sure you know today marks the twentieth anniversary of one of the darkest days and not just. New york's history where i'm from but american history and it made us think of an episode. We first brought to you back in january because this is the story of new jets head coach robert zala whose debut tomorrow will officially mark the first time. A muslim head coach has taken a sidelines in the history of the nfl. And it's the culmination of a journey. That actually began on september eleventh. Two thousand and one when the life of robert sallah like the lives of so many of us changed forever. You know nine. Eleven obviously impact. I think everyone somehow some ways going through my my brother's experience in the in the tragedy that he experienced being able to self reflect on what i was doing at that moment and realizing that i had a passion for football Really triggered this whole thing now to be here as part of the new york jets and and knowing that our first game is a day after the twentieth anniversary i mean it's i'm supposed to be here and i believe that that's the new jets head coach. Robert solid speaking to the new york media for the first time he former forty niners. Defensive coordinator has been a hot coaching candidates for several years. Now what is journey to new york in specific these as unusual as it is grounded today. Espn jets reporter rich. Simeoni tells us how september eleventh two thousand one changed robert. saleh's life forever and set them on a course to become the first muslim head coach in. Nfl history. I'm pablo toray this is. Espn getting paid up to two days. Early with direct deposit is another reason begging with capital. One is one of the easiest decisions in the history of decisions even easier than deciding to listen to another episode of your favorite podcasts and with no fees or minimums on checking and savings accounts. Is it even a decision. That is banking reimagined. What's in your wallet. Terms apply see capital one dot com slash bank capital one. Na member fdic so rich you are the jets beat reporter for espn. And how many years have you been covering this franchise pablo. I've covered the jets for thirty two years. Which is longer than any person in history. that's your that's deserves a purple heart or a trip to the insane asylum but yes. It's thirty two years and so how many coaches. How many head coaches have you seen. Come through the new york jets in that time. Yeah it's funny because the other day before they introduced robert sala. I went back and you know because we need covered that long. And the jets chains coaches so often you know you lose track over over time when he ends well. Total man okay. So you're the perfect person to talk to today. Your latest piece rich is about number twelve robert sala and his decidedly unique journey to new york city and the nfl coaching ranks. So before we get into all of the football and there is so much there. Tell me a little bit about robert. Saleh's background where did he grow up in. What was his upbringing like. Robert grew up in dearborn michigan which is just outside of detroit. Most people know it as homa ford motor company and it's also the largest percentage of arab americans in the country. He is the grandson of lebanese immigrant. He grew up in a A muslim neighborhood a very strong and closely knit neighborhood and football was a big part of it. At robert really has football in his family. His dad played at eastern michigan university. He was told a very good middle linebacker in fact he had a tryout with the chicago bears. He had uncles who played cousins. Who played his older brother. David played all at forts in highschool. You mentioned the solid name at forts in high school and there is a strong tradition. Some of the best players in the schools history are members of the solid family from an early age. When robert was a seven year old waterboy for his older brother's football team. Football has been a huge part of his life. The family's life very much a part of his upbringing in dearborn michigan. So robert is growing up in this lebanese-american muslim family in dearborn a football family. What kind of player was robert himself. Yeah very good player. You know a captain in highschool plane. Two ways he was a linebacker tight end and you know really good. I talked to his high school coach. Jeff sturdy lists. And i asked him i said. What kind of player was robert. He said he was like all the other solids. He could really hit you. You actually wears a bracelet to this day on his on his wrist during games. It says extreme violence. So i guess we could describe him as a very physical player who was good enough to get a scholarship to northern michigan and he went on to become an all conference tight end in northern michigan. I mean the. Nfl was ever a serious option for him. But i would say you know a really good high school football player who enjoyed a solid career. So if you're a football player with that decidedly unsubtle mission statement rich. What do you do after college. Robert went to the exact opposite spectrum of what that mission statement would be. I mean he goes to work behind a desk working nine to five job in a very stuffy corporate office building in downtown detroit as a credit analyst for america bank putting his finance degree the word his brother. David is in the financial world as well you know. He graduated with a finance degree. So this is just you know following in the footsteps of his family you know his dad had some done. Some business work. His grandfather was actually owned his own furniture. Store in dearborn. So he's really robert sala at this point in his life in the year. Two thousand just outta college is just following in.

"Don day you got the past eight yard pass. Is that enough to make you think something you can find the good in the bed and guess what he can even get better. Their pass was a little wobbly. So you better. But as as as ramona's said he's showing the tools and so maybe it'll allow shanahan's opened up the offense more than you has garoppolo get very conservative with jimmy quarterback so maybe going down the road when lance's in there you have a little more diversity in your offense and you can. You can think that you can go down the field. I think the best part of this play though was the call him on the forty forty-ninth broadcast trae area. That was a great shot out to bay area. Legend e for the looking man. I mean no wet blanket on this filter. I gotta get to work on that moore story here. Rookie quarterback zach wilson robert zala very high praise for wilson used the words comfortable good great potential through the roof in his post-game rookie coach talking about a rookie quarterback pablo first impression for the newest jet. Yeah look jets. Fans should feel good about this not least because pessimists experience the bad things twice like be optimistic if the preseason. There's who bearish on this kid. The reason though why we're you're only working with such a small limited sample with him in specific is because they set up the run game. So much tony to make life. Easier for zach wilson. So we're not really seeing the things that he does well. Just yet he was controlled which is good at a strong arm which is good but the stuff that he does throw off platform throw in his pro day at byu. We haven't seen that yet so a lot of room to grow. But you know just be glad that nothing terrible happened. Because that's a win for jetsons recruit all the guys. We've talked about so far. This had the potential wilson's adding the potential to be the most disastrous for a couple of reasons. One because the jets are all in on. Zach wilson like go. Look up the backups. In new york. Okay they're all in zach wilson and then number two practices. He's been coach robert salads when talking about the interceptions and everything and he hasn't been great and then if he was coming out again in this preseason game and throwing interceptions. You'd be like wow. This is kind of a trend here but he looked good. He looked solid. He was throwing on the run well. He threw within the pocket. Wealth through a couple of tight window passes that is to me quite impressive. Probably exactly what. I wanna see especially when you talk about the type of practices. He's been done. I'd say zach. We treat him the opposite adjustment fields and pay more attention to what he says than what we're seeing because i've thought he had a great perspective earlier in the week when he said look. It's the preseason it's practice so he's using this to experiment and see what he can and can't do at this level so if he makes a mistakes if he makes them ill advised throws right now. It's all part of the learning process. So no reason to panic whenever you see anything bad out of him out of this stage right even say out of this season..

"To break that down and discuss that with us on the global network. My friend bucky brooks always good to talk to the sun. The fellow son of a firefighter. Bucky let's start with the news six years. Two hundred and fifty eight million. Now the devil's always in the details on these things. The deal seem pretty damn good. Reportedly one hundred and fifty million guaranteed a hundred million fully guaranteed for josh allen your immediate reaction when you heard about the contract and the details to forty million dollar club has gotten bigger because josh allen will go in so that means the more jackson is the next one to go in and we were waiting to see which of the young guys was going to sign the deal. I and how much they were going to get. Because it set the market so now that we have josh allen done and i think that comes in around forty three million annually on extension and then you have one hundred fully guarantee. One fifty n guarantees lamar. Jackson is going to have to get north of that because when you look at the resume. His resume is to say. Hey i'm an mvp you look at the thing that we've done going to the playoffs. Three straight years. I've been the starter. The record that a baltimore ravens has when he has been the starting quarterback we can talk about stylistically. Lamar jackson maybe doesn't deserve to be in the forty million dollar club. But if i'm the more jackson. I look at josh allen. Says if he gets it i definitely got to get it because when we look at the details like you said with josh allen. Lassie was the first year that he's ever averaged over two hundred passing yards per game. And if we're gonna talk about lamar. Jackson beer run or more than the thrower. I think. The comparison with josh allen served him well when it comes to negotiate. Well so let's stay there because it is. It's very difficult to make the argument. That josh allen has accomplished more than lamar in this league and somebody will be like well. You know josh was spectacular. Last year he was but he didn't win a league. Mvp lamar's done that. Lamar now has also won a playoff game. Now granted josh. Allen won two playoff games this year. But lamar. you can't saddle them with can't win a playoff game. After the first two seasons when he played poorly in the postseason. So i agree with you that this is kind of set. The floor seems to heart like that. Lamar has got to say. You've gotta give me at least that. So i guess that is the floor. I'm not saying he would ask him well more than that but from the ravens perspective when the ravens saw this deal do you think they were happy sad or neutral like when they like when they saw. What josh allen. God how do you think they reacted well obviously they. I think they would want to be first to the table because then they don't have to necessarily compete against the deal that has already done. Here's the thing though. The deals now. For the young quarterbacks i would say josh allen lamar jackson it had become in somewhere between forty and forty five million annually. Patrick mahomes and debt got shawn watson it had to be in that range and so you're the baltimore ravens. You had the no the this is the cost of doing business. The trick will be. If i'm the baltimore ravens cannot do a shorter deal if fully guarantee it so if i do have some doubts about lamar jackson is not necessarily a long a long marriage between the two. If we don't believe he can. Progress has a passer. But maybe we go allen oh three years guaranteed ninety one thirty five hundred thousand three hundred thirty five million guarantee that in a way we go when we live with that on a three hundred. Thirty five million fully guaranteed deal. Because i think you're gonna have to do something like that to get him. Sign a short term deal. So let's stay on this just for one more question. Because you're we've mentioned jeff allen we've mentioned lamar. There's another quarterback in that draft class. That happened the number one of that draft class who is also coming off the best year of his career who also won a playoff game. And that's baker. mayfield. Now i think most people expect at least. I do that baker of the three if they were all get deals bakers would be the least per year because he hasn't played at the level. That josh did last year. That lamar has over the last three years. Do you think that is. How do you think with this. Coming in. at forty three bakers people will accept not being in the forty million dollar a year club. Do you think they should do. You think a deal get done between baker and the browns. Here's the thing i think. Baker should probably follow the apodaca bresca. Because what we've seen time allows the price tag to continue to go up. It doesn't come back down. And so it's going to be hard for baker's represented in my mind to negotiate with the cleveland browns and say a baker mayfield deserve to be in the same range as josh l. And lamar jackson because his individual accomplishments don't match up to the compliments of those guys his best bet is they go back to cleveland this year. Lee cleveland to a deep postseason. Run and then he is able to say like. Hey we talk about. Winning is the most important thing. When it comes to quarterbacks i have done it at a high level. I need to be rewarded for the team success because look at what it looked like prior to me and now look at how. The team is trending with me as the quarterback art speaking of quarterbacks. I wanna spend just a moment on. Last night's preseason game six quarterbacks played obviously didn't play. I thought the three best quarterbacks all played for the steelers look fine. I've always liked josh dobbs. Partial mason rudolph and dwayne haskins. Meanwhile the cowboys. If i'm a cowboys. Fan index coming off that ankle injury. And now he's dealing with a kind of bizarre like under the shoulder injury. We don't really know what it is. I'm not only anxious. I'm a little annoyed that. I'm going into this season with a third or fourth string quarterback as my backup quarterback whichever one it is whether it's new g. Rush or gilbert. What do you make of the cowboys. Seemingly bypassing backup quarterback on the roster this year. So here's the thing. Here's what happens when you pay the quarterback. It makes it harder for you to pay the back quarterback because now you have so much money tied into the position. Dak prescott. Getting forty million dollars to get a solid veteran quarterback. You're talking about five to seven million dollars man. We're tying to forty five almost fifty million dollars just in the quarterback world on the salary cap. What you hope that you're able to do is maybe i can find a young cheap option. Someone who can get us through a couple of games if that was to undergo an injury but when you watch them play. Who do you feel good about being able to do that. The only person that i could see me in the back of his. Maybe gilbert the rest of the guys did nucci rush. I just don't see those guys as having the long-term staying power to be legitimate confident. Qb to for this team. Yeah i think. I'd sign whichever one of the three steelers quarterback gets cut. Steelers aren't gonna keep four one of those guys getting now on all right so i want to go to if we can for a moment to new york had coaches very different approaches. Right robert zala came out and basically coachman gene called. He was at a very zen like approach. He was you know he's like hey we're all men we all want them understand why they make a mistake if they do it. And then you have joe judge lap it up boys the knuckle pushups yelling at yelling at folks as a guy who played in this league a guy who's been around a bunch of teams and been a scout does that lap it up stuff play a with grown men but being i think more importantly when you as a head coach don't have your bona fides gioja. It's one thing if you've got a handful of super bowl rings but when you're trying to do the parcels method kind of without the parcels cachet. How do you think.

"Under hopkins. I'm not telling you okay. You don't know my poker face either. Pro football talk live co host. Chris simms joining us the camp. That is most interesting right now. Inside from green bay is oh. Wow good question all right well first off. I'm pissed at the jets. Like what the hell are you doing. That's i'm to interested because of the stupidity of the jets right now. That's where i'd like to go with that. I mean that's i here. We are redrafted. All this young talent. We got a superstar quarterback all they could do was rave about him to anybody who would listen offspring now. He's lasers everywhere this guy's awesome and now they're gonna screw up all the development because of money that means nothing and i can't blame joe. Douglas robert zala. that's got to be an ownership. That is in this. Chris like don't they. They have to pay him like what. What is the hold up here. The holdup is obviously the are trying to do something ownership of this. Is that like joe douglas. Because it's not a salary cap issue or anything like that. It has to do something i think with. Yeah one of the higher ups above them going way. We don't want to write that check right now or give all that cash. I'd cashflow problems with the jets or what it is but yeah right the last few years the first and second fix it slotted you know what you get they all get their money in the first two or three months and that's it but of course the jets are doing jets things that's interesting but then the other one the forty niners i mean how could i not forty nine or super bowl team will do you finally got you know they signed their you know trae so right is is is he going to eventually start this year. I i would think that there's got to be at least a package of place for him. I i don't know if i'm gonna say jim a start i you know i gotta see him playing in the preseason and see you know if he's become more of a polish passer and begin on you know handle the nfl game and all that there isn't a branch comes with that so you know. I don't know but it's intriguing either way because there are super talented football team with a quarterback that was in the super bowl two years ago and a guy that they traded away. Three first round picks toget- now they're having a quarterback battle. So i think that's probably the story of training camp if garoppolo at one that super bowl. Yeah would they have drafted a quarterback probably not advisable at least another year. Maybe to at least like like he's two first downs away. I know beating the homes. You know tubers down away from homes but a full second half of bad decisions bad throws plays that were there to be had. When they had a kick field goal they should have been a wide open completion. On third down to george kendall over the middle and that should have continued. I think it's that type of stuff that has continually rushed rated. The forty niners and things like that. But i yeah i'm with you. I think if they win that game he of course you by yourself. Two maybe three years. If you're a super bowl chair feeling. We were yelling at each other today. Yelling i think anyways because i had ear pods data usually at my studio with the bike and all that so. I'm sorry i don't mean to yell you my fault. You look like you're on a spaceship with jeff bezos or something. Whatever earth that sunday night football earth avenue..

"Versus sherman email rowsley k. One you know. I'm getting give it even though it's not sure you know prime richard sherman. I'm still gonna give it to twenty nineteen and of course jimmy ward and angie's guitar vs dante hitting her and Strong goals now. We were talking about hitting their goals. You know we do have to put the ask that. Let's be real. It's a different ballgame. Now i'll be there be able to play now might have been kicked out the league then for that hit. He put up here on this. I mean you might be suspended for hit like that now. But i think that i'm still gonna give it to the secondary because you know. Hopefully you watch the interview. The ground cone had with jimmy ward is a really good any You just you really. I've interview and jimmy was not a very outspoken. Man you know he's not a big self promoter. But i love you walked away thinking you know what. Yeah you know. Jimmy works a lot of crafts. And he you know he doesn't deserve it because if you look at it. The only issue with jimmy ward is really ever been health. He's a good player is a good safety. And yeah everybody says turnovers turnovers turnovers. But if you're not getting thrown at man jimmy ward brought up a good point that every word that nobody counts four thousand stops and jimmy ward out a couple of those and so i think that what you're seeing. The last couple of years is what has always been there with jimmy ward. He's just been healthy now that he's been able to play majority of the games and you've been able to see that he has italic definitely should have been first round. Pick in two thousand fourteen and you go to jakubowski tart who a lot like jimmy wars. You know just does his job and you know you could tell it. Twenty nineteen was the cost. Went out with that rib injury you know. The defense definitely did did fall off. Not a whole bunch. Obviously but if fell off enough. And so i think that it's important to note that jaguars came up with some big plays that year. You know the biggest obviously was when he became back out for the ball and that that was. A huge thing are huge. Play in that game. Yeah we ended up losing it. But i don't think without that play. You can't say that we come back and forced to overtime and so everybody will always remember the forest buckner scoop and score but cross qatar de for the ball was just big as a play and so i'm gonna give it to the twenty nineteen in the secondary but overall if you said you had to pick one defense. I think i'm gonna go twenty. I think i'm gonna go twenty twelve. I'll take justice. Smith dismiss Navarro bowman patrick willis and and all that don't they hitting their and the shaun golden so on and so forth our defense. Now you could also say that the defense kind of gaels the super bowl that year kinda like how obviously for a lot less of the game but you know the devote defense is gonna get it done but i would like to say that the twenty twelve defense would have if given another opportunity if you had to play that game over again. I think we shut down baltimore. And also i'll go to won't even go coordinators on this and i'll give it to vic fangio. I mean big fan. Dr robert sala. Wishing luck new york as long as it doesn't affect the niners but i did fangio's away to better coordinated than robert zala Okay so now. Moving to office side of the ball. You know we'll get a little bit coaching staff to we'll get that a little bit towards the end of the episode but going into office. Okay so you gotta start at quarterback so we'll go ahead and we'll go cap because we'll look at who started the super bowl versus jimmy garoppolo. that's tough but you know what i'll take cap and twenty twelve. I'm not saying. I would take him for the whole career that i'll take catholic. Twenty twelve four. The fact that the league having caught up to a cap came out slanging. And i think that a lot of times. We're calling kabir nick. A lot of people look at the beginning of his career and think that's all he is and then you have people who look at the end of his career and you know think of that's what it is so i'll definitely say colin kaepernick was shooting star. Louis you know he was bright bright but you know yeah he did say and we obviously know what happened at the end of why. He's no longer in the week. But we won't get into that. But i'm gonna check cap over jimmy and twenty twelve just because yeah you could say he didn't get it done. At the you know jimmy. With the overthrow capita fade rows to crabtree. But i would say that. If i could play patrick mahomes in the super bowl. I believe i believe that caps mobility would have greatly benefited in the fourth quarter. When you know the pastor start getting there and you start getting balls batted down on everything. Jimmy least would have been r. Chop wood at least been able to move off. This fought and you would have had the of his legs. I think that's what i hope. Cowboy mostly my super bowl is that hey the offense gets in a rut like you know. It happened to the super bowl. We got in a rut but having the threat of a quarterback who a office getting shut down balls. They're getting better down. Wherever you go and pick up a first now you know with your legs and yeah the offense might still be sputtering but at least you have you. The offense is moving down the field. Yeah you're not getting a big pass. Plays or whatever. But i mean you're getting i in the chain moving and i think that you even with the offense is sputtering. If we simply would have just been able to have a quarterback that would have been able to move the change with his legs. I do that super. Bowl comes out a lot. Different super bowl. Fifty four comes out a lot different Now maybe the chief do what baltimore did in super bowl atia. Hey no matter what every play. We're gonna hit colin kaepernick and so would ended up working the way they did. But i still think. I would have said cap over jimmy. Twenty twelve cap versus jimmy. Twenty nineteen now. You go to the running backs. I mean look lover. He's a dream. I was there for thousand. Nfc championship game amazing. But if you ever think i'm gonna take another ready back a diner history. Was that immediate. How doing doing legendary brother doing legendary. How about yourself but Let me know what you think of the comments We're we're we're breaking down. Twenty nine thousand nine hundred versus twenty twelve. Niners becky brad. Thank you three. Shaded are doing great. That's separate that's what's up guys. You're doing good or less. But i think and if you think i'm gonna take any other running back nine history besides number twenty one. You're smoking crack. I mean maybe the million dollar backfield. Joe perry any.

"Year nine ten months removed from having cova so you should be back up and running cam. Newton is gonna make his money this year. He's gonna go off make some money next year. And then he'd be i in the afterwards. You have jones. Come in. And i think it'll be good situation for them. He absolutely right. But am i gonna fault the quarterback for having you know plenty of weapons around him. What you're supposed do when you have a door weapons. Get the ball where needs to go get it with accuracy and your offense to move and it was going to be in a situation where you've got those titans Hopefully they're bringing some you know some new rec- some new receivers and then he'll be ready to go next year. So i i'm not. I'm not mad at this. This is what you need for quarterback like him. Just give them some time to mature. He'll be good to go. You guys talk about Zagros wilson a lot. Going to the jets guys believed that he can actually be that. Missing franchise quarterback for that organization has been looking for a franchise quarterback for the longest. They traded away. Sam darnold and now they have. They picked up. Zac wilson. Will they regret doing. This is a step in the right direction. Well it's gotta be a step in the right direction. Because arnold was not going to be the guy with the jets. I feel the same way about zack. Wilson that i feel about justin feels a little different so for the bears. Low talked about earlier. The bears don't have a great track record with quarterbacks but at least the bears he he has some sort of chance with the regime there. When you look at the jets. I i i like robert solid. Almost kinda mosala. The soccer player robert zala. He's a good head coach. I mean who's a good coordinator and you expect him to be a good head coach of the passion that he was there with but obviously he's not. It's not often. That guy is defensive guy. And i just. I don't know jack. Wilson is set up for success the same way. I don't know if feels the setup for success in chicago so it's a great unknown thing that bothers me. The most about both of those players. Is i think that they came on late right. Because the nfl's quarterback hungry they came on late and they became first round draft picks through the season through through the the the latest college football season when you watch both of them play. There's there's not a lot about both of them jumps out to me. I'll be very honest with you. Particularly zack wilson. He came on strong in the end. But it just when you watch the tape not a lot jumps out to me. When you watch trump lawrence and even to an extent we watch train lance those guys jump out to you as okay they can. They can possibly nfl. I just don't see it was aga- wilson. Unfortunately he's with the jets so we're just famous to our podcast appreciates you for listening. Yano is gone away are so it's i. It's tough man with you and there's one thing that bothers me about the nfl. I do not put trust. There are very few quarterbacks up with trust in that you're three or four year career in college you probably started the equivalent of a year and a half so and then your success or your first round draft pick status based off of having a phenomena one year your last year whatever that year was right and they come in and film. And that's what happened with sam darnold. That's what happened with The josh rosen. That whole draft. Class with josh. Rosen and sam darnold. I did not like that draft class because of this need and because of the position we put so much these scouts in these pundits. They put so much status on these quarterbacks that i believe have no reason to be us regal status. So that's something that bothers me. I didn't too much care for zack. Wilson drafted that high. I did not from. Byu okay season a year before and then last year came out strong just after attending quarterback cam and really work on with mechanics. But i mean is that going to translate. We'll see i. I will say that i liked. What the jets did in that. They picked up a quarterback and then right afterwards with their next pick because they had two first round draft picks they picked up In office regard. So i like that logic very tucker so they picked up an officer garcia this. Hey we're going to bring in a young talented guard to help. Protect their quarterback. So at least they did that right. But we'll see mean just like you said justin feels. I think is in a better situation than you know. Our fellow You know jets quarterback. He's a much better situation than he is. So we'll we'll see what happened to me. But i just i really think they reached up for him. I really did and we. We pretty much talked about the the main quarterbacks in the draft and that's pretty much what the focus was to me during the whole draft is where it is quebec's gonna go what teams are going to go to and i guess you guys kind of astra question you guys pretty much said that you're picking the field over trevor lawrence. That's what i've heard especially from chris. Because the organization that is going to so when you look at jacksonville and you look at the jets. These are not to organization that have been highly successful in the past years and then miss assess was far as picking up quarterback either our draft picks in general. So i have go with the field as well. As far as the quarterbacks i don't know which one particular i'm not going to sit here and say that i've seen quarterback play in college. I've seen bits and pieces. But i think the main thing we want to talk about articles as it were drafted. I do wanna hit on someone that i think is going to do quite well in the nfl and this is probably one of my favorite picks Atlanta picked fourth an got. Kyle pits cow pits. To me is a monster. I think he is a monster into making a when i look at him. He kinda reminds me of. Oh boy from the. Las vegas raiders. His name losing right now for some reason why but He kind of reminds me of that. Kinda tight end. That can be a game changer. He can be the best player on a football team. This this has been the highest drafted tied in. nfl history. As far as going before. So i i look for big things for for copies as another very interesting to me. And i just think that he's he's pretty much a wide receiver playing tied in. You look at gronk. He was a big dude. You look at some of the great. Sharp showers was still a pretty big dude. He look tony zala. He was a big dude as well. They were athletic but they're not cow pits couch. It has a powerful tight end. And i think he's gonna take the league by storm. Yeah he's he's clearly Most pundits put him as the best player my best. Nfl ready player in the draft. I get that right. I just didn't understand the pick. Like i love the fact that they have matt ryan going all in on matt ryan and they're going to put play pieces around him. Do better. but just i. If you're the falcons what does that do for you i just. I didn't understand it. If i had to be very honest with you i understand. He's the best player available in the draft and and then if not nba in the nba. You take the best player available but the nfl may not always be the best decisions. I hope it works out for them by. I didn't get. I don't know what it does for them. Yeah i mean it is what it is. Atlanta's going to score a lot of points but now you'll be stopped. Nobody thank you But my some of my favorite moves. Were i liked the two receivers drafting in the top. Seven picks right. You got your marches going to angles and jalen oiseaux going to the miami dolphins receivers now play with the quarterbacks that they play within college so when you talk about chemistry and and the lack of success with first year receivers. I think that's going to be huge because these two guys are going to be able to pick up where they left off in college with the quarterbacks that they play with. I think that's pretty cool. Well i'll say this. I didn't like pick to be honest with you. I think both wide receiver players. But if you're the bengals you need way more than wide receivers right now. You need to blind their bengals. They need work. The last thing they needed to do was to do to get your marchetto at this point. I didn't think it made sense. And for the dolphins the exact same thing do they even believe into attack of our lord. I don't think they do so then. They go ahead and draft a wide receiver. When they use something on defense they could they have done a number of other moves and more importantly i thought they. Why do they make the trade and leave three position. Give up a first round. Pick to get back in the six position just a draft a guy that was already going to be there. I really don't.
