"On America in the morning. I'm John trout. There were two abortion rulings regarding the procedures in Idaho and South Carolina Thursday by a vote of three to two, the Idaho Supreme Court upheld the state's near total abortion ban, dismissing a challenge by Planned Parenthood in South Carolina, also by a vote of three to two, the state's Supreme Court overturned their near 6 week abortion ban, saying the state's constitution provides the right to privacy that includes the right to abortion, saying quote the decision to terminate a pregnancy rests upon the utmost personal and private considerations imaginable. The South Carolina attorney general announced he's working with the governor's office to review options following the court's decision. The Biden administration is expanding policies and expulsions amid a continued surge of migrants at the southern border. Correspondent Clayton Neville tells us the move comes ahead of the president's planned trip to the border early next week. The Biden administration is acknowledging a massive surge of immigration. The world is experiencing the greatest displacement of people since World War II. And our entire hemisphere is gripped with mass migration. Homeland Security secretary Alejandro mayorkas says the dynamics at the U.S. Mexico border have changed dramatically encounters of Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans rose more than 250% and grew to 40% of all border enforcement encounters. Mayorkas detailing a plan announced by President Biden to expand a program currently in place for Venezuelans to three other countries. Effective immediately, citizens from Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, in Haiti, who attempt to cross our border without authorization will be swiftly expelled to Mexico, which will accept returns of 30,000 individuals per month who fail to use these new pathways or their home country. But if people from those countries apply for asylum online or from their own countries, there are benefits. We will welcome up to 30,000 individuals per month from these four countries to come safely to live and work here for two years. President Biden said the goal is to discourage migrants from physically coming to the border. These four countries account for most of the people now traveling into Mexico to try to start a new life by crossing the border into the United States of America on the southwest border. We anticipate this action is going to substantially reduce the number of people attempting, attempting to cross our southwest border without going through a legal process. The president warning against the dangerous trek from south and Central America to the U.S. but said he's boosting efforts to make the journey safer. We've also set up a joint patrols and law enforcement with Mexico and Guatemala. That share real-time information on locations and smugglers are using to convince migrant groups to cross illegally. The president's been pressured by Republicans for a while now to visit the border and just this week he announced plans to do exactly that on Sunday. He said he was waiting to make the trip until title 42 expired, but as the Supreme Court weighs that Trump era immigration policy, he said he couldn't wait any longer. They're not going to make the final decision on title 42 for some time. And for another who knows. Biden plans to visit El Paso in the senior senator from Texas said he's glad the president's making the trip, but Republican John cornyn insisted it'll be important for the president to speak to people who live in the area opposed to going for a photo op, which he accused the vice president of doing when she visited the border. I'm Clayton Neville. More details are emerging about a gruesome find in a Utah home where 8 people were found shot to death. Correspondent Norman hall reveals it appears to have been a murder suicide that wiped out an entire family. Officials in the city of Enoch Utah say a 42 year old man apparently used a gun to kill 7 family members and himself, according to public records, the suspect's wife filed for divorce two weeks ago. The victims include Michael hates wife, the couple's 5 children, and his mother in law, authorities say the children ranged in age from four to 17 and included three girls in two boys, the victims were found inside the family's home, which had been decorated for Christmas. On Norman hall, shifting gears for Friday sports at 9 before the hour, here's Robert workman. NBA the Celtic slammed the Mavericks one 24 95 Jayson Tatum had a game high 29 points with a triple double just the second of his career. Jazz snap a 5 game skid with a route of the rockets, Lori marking him with a career best 49 points. Grizzlies over the magic for their 5th straight win, nugget scuttled the clippers. NHL UC sorrows made 64 saves as the predators turned back the hurricanes wins for the bruins, rangers, capitals, and flyers in the east while out west, the blues cracking golden knights oilers and Canucks prevail. College basketball number one Purdue edge number 24 Ohio State as the boilermakers bounce back from their first defeat of the season. Number two, Houston steamrolled SMU, close wins for number 5 Arizona. Number 9 Gonzaga and number ten UCLA. Buffalo Bills safety demar Hamlin remains in critical condition in a Cincinnati ICU after suffering cardiac arrest during Monday night's game. But the doctors there say he has made substantial improvement. The NFL has decided to cancel the bills, Bengals game with the league saying since both teams are already in the playoffs, it didn't make sense to push the postseason back a week just to make it up. This means Cincinnati and buffalo will play 16 games while everyone else plays 17. So the NFL may use a neutral site for the AFC title game if both teams could have been the top seed had all the games been played. 11 of the 14 playoff teams are all set, week 18 will still decide the top seed and the last wildcard in each conference plus the winners of the AFC south and NFC east.
