"Basically saying we shouldn't have taken this case in the first place But do we know why they dismissed the case There's basically a pretty good indication in the concurrence where justice is Robert Thomas Alito and Gorsuch actually explain in their concurrence why they think this case needed to be sent back And that is because at the end of the day there were too many issues that were wrapped up around this case And one could see that during the oral argument the justices were all over the place So just to give you some context this was originally a case about whether the Trump public charge rule was legal or not And there were a bunch of courts that said that it was legal And there was only one court that it wasn't legal And the Supreme Court had actually left that public charge rule go into effect But then what happened was that President Biden reversed the public charge rule and there's this one court that says and Illinois that the public charge rule is illegal We agree with this one court in Illinois So we're just going to not use the Donald Trump public charge rule We're going to acquiesce in the decision of this Illinois court And so now when the state strikes the intervene in that case so that they could not know that ruling is incorrect and we should be allowed to move forward the court was sort of all over the place because they said well wait a second Now there's a new Joe Biden public charge rule and so there's issues of movements there's issues of standing and all of these other things but there are so many and none of them were the one about whether states can intervene That court does not forget it Let's just start from scribe to yours that there's a new public art school And if the state wants to sue on this new public charge rule they can go ahead and do that So then this doesn't have anything to do with whether states can intervene in a case like this Well the original reason for granting search error in this case was whether the state could intervene in challenging what President Biden had done which was to acquiesce to that one district court decision in Illinois but what the court said is so much has happened since that now this case is all over the place Now Biden actually changed the rules So what difference would it make if we allowed them to intervene because what are you left to do about if the rule has already changed And so what they all agreed to was look but just dismiss this case and move on with our lives So does this give the Biden administration or any other administration a road map for the future So it's a rare situation because it can only happen in the exact situation like this where what happens is somebody too and you just accept the decision you want to accept So yes you could actually do that always You can always accept a decision from a court that you like and then just do that instead of reversing a regulation by noting the comment The only difference is that usually in those kinds of lawsuits the states would have had an opportunity to intervene from the beginning And if they don't intervene then it's going to be their fault that back at the end Here the problem.

"I think they get that one done i really do. Sometimes they say okay. We're not gonna talk once the season starts. I've heard that before. Sometimes it's true but sometimes it's a smokescreen and i think at the end of the day. If you've got a player wants to stay in a team that wants to keep him you find a way. I think that's the case with alcohol. If they really wanted to get rid of back home they could have done it last year. Don't forget they might have started winning. I think they've reached a point. Where like if we have to move one of the two of them. Maybe we wanna keep at home instead of ellis and it just. It was a choice of one or the other. It's not to demean anybody. You'll the forsberg thing to me is interesting. Forsberg sent out that thumbs-down when arvidsson got traded. You know. I wonder what everybody's thinking here that you know. They said there's been no talks going on so i'm very curious about this about what this is all gonna mean. I still think there's time we've talked about how there's some situations like morgan. Rally in toronto. Where you can punt it at the later in the season but to me then putting duchenne johannesen forsberg. That's tone setter for the start of their season. I liked that. I'm curious to see if the team kinda grows and feeds on that. I should mention jeff. The those three did play together in the playoffs last year because of injuries. But i think it's one thing to do that in the playoffs and now you start the year with it. I should say that so natural fans aren't looking at me like you're nuts. I should say you are prefer for a bunch of different reasons. Yes let's get to the Let's get to the saint louis blues. We'll get to the winnipeg jets and finish up here in a couple of moments saint louis. Blues they bring in brandon saad They tried to say goodbye to vladimir tarasenko. But he's still on the on the roster. James neal came in on a pto. He earned himself a contract as well. Where are you at on the saint louis. Blues by the way bosak left and then came back to the team Your and words. Saint louis is at right now. Well i really liked the butchnevich deal. I liked him as a player. You know jake. Neighbors had a big preseason. I think the blues need to find new blood like that's one of the things. I'm looking at here like rob thomas. I look at him. And i see a guy. They have to find him away to play more. I think craig berube is very loyal to the players who won the stanley cup with him. I do get that. I really understand that. But i also think some point in time you've got to say okay. We've got a nudge some other things up the lineup like to me. I'm looking at thomas. And i'm looking at and i'm saying it's time like they have to be given more responsibility and part of me makes me wonder is if kate of the blues take a bit of a step back this year because they say we have to commit to that like to me. This is a team there in a little bit of an identity crisis. They've kind lost to their danny. That won the cop. And they're trying to rebuild a new one and you know. I'm curious to see what that all means is he. It's tough for fear. Robert thomas and you know how i feel about this player. You're you're robert. Thomas your you look ahead. And you see brayden shannon reina riley. Those are your those year two centers that are that are ahead of you. It's tough for robert thomas to to get into those boss. But i'm with you i. It's amazing what happens when you start to elevate players robert thomas and jordan cairo who are now in their what twenty two twenty three twenty four years so like now this is the sweet spot of the bat for those guys like give these guys a chance and they will excel and on the back end to. I think they need an infusion. I don't know that they've gotten over losing. Alex portray angelo. I think that's pretty obvious. Yup like that guy was their captain. That guy was their leader. That guy was their top defensemen or the best defense game. All of it. And you can kind of patchwork and say well. This guy does a little bit of a portray angelo. Did that guy does. Some of what portraying joe did replace some of the offense with crew and it's still not alex portraying gelo. I always wondered like when you're a player. They all understand that it's a business buni. See someone like that. Walk out the door. What's the effect on all those guys why. I think you could have a year where you can say. This is rocked us but now now i think you have to move on. You have to say okay. You know we're resetting and he's gone and we have to find another way. I don't think going into year two of this. You can say that still an excuse. You just have to move on. I just think it's new blood time. And i think a lot of that. New blood comes up front last team and i liked his team a lot. I do too. I like winnipeg a ton i think. Pure luke dubois is looking healthy. Playing healthy feeling healthy sounding healthy. That goes a long way to carrying some of the ails up front. I like what they did with the blue line And they still have connor halibut. Who's one of the best goaltenders in the world I like the coach. Paul maurice i i like a whole lot of the winnipeg jets. What say you know. One thing i like about the jets right now is quiet like last couple of years. Look at some of the things that happened. You had buffalo a couple years ago near the year before you had a of talk about wheelers. Leadership rate jacob trueba situation and jacob true and wheeler threw himself on the fire right. Yep he sacrificed. You said yep. This is me and i have to be better. This summer was a quiet off season for the jets. They made a couple of really lights moves. I love bringing schmidt. I liked bringing in dillon. I think those are both going to be good fits for the team. You know the cops situation. I think winnipeg hallett right. They just said you know what. This is our rental and we'll see how it plays out. They just needed an off season. That didn't have a tidal wave. In it and i felt that this was their off-season i thought they were really nice. Quite like nobody's talking about them great. Nobody's talking about them. And i think they needed that i i. I really think they needed that..

"PEDROIA. Just, absolutely, you know alleged here. And again you said it this makes that Twenty Nineteen Cup loss that much worse because this guy would have not only had the COP but hit on Robert Thomas would be you know. It'd be in Boston or same with Charles playing through broken job but crew Robert Thomas I mean it'd be statues of it. There'd pictures in bars there it would be incredible and and that loss. He doesn't get that and he it stinks because he should have got there are two things it would have been awesome to see him getting Boston. AQAP. In money and right now, the Bruins are not in a position to offer him a long-term deal with that kind of money because he's in that weird crew that's not the veteran corps and is it the next generation near the Veteran Corps Berge on marshawn Chara Krejci Rask's, and then you have the younger core of mcevoy posture knock debrosse. End Cruise kind of in the middle and you saw coils the same age or close to it, and they only gave five years. This past year. Crude wants more as he should, and he wants way more money that they could give him as he should. Go, get it somewhere else go get the bag somewhere else and go win somewhere else because I don't think I. Don't think by year four, five I don't know if the bruins are still going to be contenders in the same way they are now. So I think going somewhere else. it's good for my back right in. It's definitely going to be interesting to see what the Bruins do this off season because it sets the stage for years to come like art. Are we going to kick the can and like say, Hey, we're gonNA, go younger like we've had our last. Real chances at a cup run like. "The Mormons and the hells angels. It's so great so like I don't know a lot about the hells angels other than like. I mean I didn't know if it's a biker gainful of fifty year old retired lawyers or something or you know, I, I knew they had a jacket with a patch and that they look kind of awesome like maybe having a quality beard as part of the initiation ceremony. But we learned a little bit about. How the Hell's angels develop, their people said well, and so I just WanNa to mention that we're now drawing upon a great article in the MIT's Sloan. Management. Review that's called crucibles of leadership development, and this was written by Robert Thomas, and we'll put a link to that in the show notes as well as a great article in which he unpacked. S- what Mormons and hells angels go through and how those are crucibles of leaders are. So we want to give credit where credit is due so go ahead Chris Yeah. So the hells angels like okay you might be a good candidate and I don't know how you meet. The Hell's angel guys. But you know they, they somehow say, Hey, you wanna come hang out where we hang out. Then, you go hang out and then I don't I forget the name of it. There's like initiate. Full patched member, right. So whatever there's a couple levels of membership and it takes a long time. Yeah. It takes years. They gotta make sure you're a okay and fit the culture and all that kind of stuff. It takes half as long as most HR hiring process just kidding. Anyway. Before their full pledged member or full member, they have to plan a rumble. A motorcycle run right I they called it the rumble right like and so they get these big long things and they go on a big motorcycle ride and these huge huge pass of course, police are concerned. There's maybe some unsavory stuff that goes along but the new person has to first of all get consensus of the group like, Hey, what do you guys think like you're not getting in if you plan a lame right right? You know where are we GONNA go? Is it going to be cool building consensus or may be disagreement? So you have to manage that disagreement piece you there's different jurisdictional issues of where you can ride motorcycles or not or some. You know you have to have a permit for a parade type permit or something well, and so I'll just quote from Robert Thomas's article and he he described it really well, and he says, and I quote organizing a run is no simple affair runs typically stretch hundreds of miles long public thoroughfares the extraordinarily loud and deep rumble of dozens occasionally hundreds of UN muffled Harley Davidson motorcycles can be heard for miles no small source of delight to the riders. Though legal in most addictions, a planned run nevertheless attracts a great deal of attention from local law enforcement agencies,.

"Watching and then falls on his back in the middle of this room and there's just this deafening echo that goes throughout the coast throughout the elevator. You know the stretching room and everyone's just silent for like three seconds and then we all just move forward and my family is very different. We did not check if he was okay. We were laughing hysterically and then asked him what happened. And he says I thought it was falling down an empty elevator shaft and that was it and we laughed for like twenty minutes after that. We didn't even didn't even experience the right. We had to go on it again because we were laughing so hard in the reason we were laughing so hard because if that happened to any one of us would never have let us forget it and not let them forget it. That's solid that is so funny if I would be scared if that happened to me because I probably would not say very many family for words to leave. It's shocking that my dad managed to keep his. I think he was he. He got up immediately. Like a you know like a wounded deer he just jumped up and it was like okay. you know. I'm fine and I don't think he wanted to draw attention to himself. That's good those are two. I liked that. Both of those are so funny. Yeah yeah that's what we like all right so last question that we have to ask you and we ask all of our guest is if you have one piece of party guidance that you can give to someone who they want to jump into this community either as a content creator. Maybe they won't open up a shop. Whatever it might be. What would be your advice to that person I think for me. It's be honest with yourself and beyond with the consumers of your content. You know one thing. That's really important to me when I'm planning a Disney trip and I'm like listening to podcasts with that in mind is there's people I know I can trust about their opinions and especially when it comes to Disneyworld. There's so much to do and it's so alien to me and there's so many options that I wanna make sure I'm doing things that are quality and there's just people that I that I can trust to the opinion they're giving me is their opinion and I think that it's important that the consumers of your content associate that with you and that's something we always have tried to do on. Our show is be honest about how we feel about things and and let people sort of decide from there but also being honest with yourself and making sure that you are Doing all the things that are right for you like we said earlier. Not overextending yourself. It's really good. I would save on top of that. Which all of that agree with. Yes Eh ambitious and courageous in what you do you can. You can take risks in what you're doing. Yeah the content specifically branching out. Just take a chance and it's okay to fail if it fails and be humble and willing to adapt and grow because you're not going to get it right the very first time in it may take a little while to settle into a groove where you know exactly what you're doing and I mean you can just take that from anything you've you've learned in life and gotten good at you. You weren't good at the beginning but you you learn and you got better so you just have to be patient in humble at the same time courageous in and try new things. I love both of those. And I think there's kind of a common thread between their of finding your voice and embracing your voice as well. Kinda hit to both of those points that autism what medium. You're going to like the most in what's going to really drive that passion out of you once you find it being able to push yourself and be more of yourself. I think many content creators have to go through that process of your kind of just showing little parts of you along the way with the quicker that you can get to embracing your opinions and your feelings and in your voice I think the better it works out so I think that is excellent advice to both of you gave. Yeah it's IT'S. It's been a journey for us but we. WanNa make sure that we are. We do things that we like and we think that if if we're honest and we do things that we enjoy other people enjoy that too and the people that enjoy will be people that we can keep listening because you know you can only pretend to be something. "Great to hear the bread whole. Bring us back from break. We always try and do a flashback of former teammate. Let me ask you about Chris. PRONGER who was a team-mate ears in Saint Lewis who is also kind of working his way up the executive ranks assistant. I always make fun of because they seem at Blues Games and I thought he worked for the panthers. Don't worry about my business business son. Okay but give me an idea of pronger as a teammate. In and did you sense on the is how much other teams just I guess. They kinda hated him didn't they. They had every reason to hate him. 'cause he was so talented. He's you know why you don't appreciate a guy until you play with them. That's kind of how I felt about Prong McKenna's listen all problems is I mean not only is he skilled and can make plays but he was a physical presence back there he cover a lot of ice with his size. He's he was. He was a man he was one of those guys. A hater play against it was hugh wouldn't quit and you know that's what made him so. Successful successful is just his desire to beat you at skill but also the beach with his physical presence and he was borderline dirty. But that's what was acceptable back second and the thing about it. He's not GonNa fight you either and I think that I think that really piss people off more didn't it did he slash. He didn't have the sky. The Guy was you know. He's just so counted that you know he's the Best Defense League for a Lotta Years in. I seen him when I first got traded. We're the second thing is Dallas and took a four minute mile penalty. You know double minor. And he played four. He played three minutes in like forty forty. Forty second straight. Well coming off the always a quick whistle. He's out there to me. He just he can play forty minutes if he wanted to. He was that good. And and that's that's pretty damn special. Also I asked for questions for big wall will solicit these more often throughout the season. Somebody said Justin faulk more or LS. How does he get more suited to the more comfortable? Where have you seen from him and I wonder if a little bit is? He's pressing when he gets to a new team. Well it's car when you get it. You need time to to you. Know Get your bearings and your new team and new system The on just a new environment in general and it's GonNa take some time but he's a good player he's a good player for a long time and you know he brings up offensive nature and he can he can produce obviously. He's that'll take time but you know he. He knows he can come in here. And he doesn't have to be the Solo Guy. He's got a great supporting cast around him and he'll be fine. It just takes takes time. It's only almost you know December but you gotta give the Guy Time. Another question was about Matthew Chuck. I think a lot of blues fans have this vision where one day maybe. Maybe he's wearing the blue note and saint. Louis I know he loves CALGARY'S UNDER CONTRACT. How often do you get asked by people around town get affect quite a bit and you know he loves cowdery Ariba you know he does have a soft spot this team? He grew up idolizing. And being down enterprise or you know he loved being here and then you know he said the success that we had this year and you know. But he's happy in Calgary they love him up there and you know he you know they're good. Hit a little bump in the role but he he's up. There needed enjoy it. Here's a Thanksgiving question. Somebody said your first normal Thanksgiving other words. You weren't in the league anymore because you probably always on the road in in the past. What was that first? One like. It was great And in fact you you see my old house in Saint Louis. We have people over on on Thanksgiving morning friends family from Boston. But all friends around Saint Louis and we play games. I'll I'll back. It was awesome that a few you know realizing copy and play some games and football flag football soccer and stick ball. We used to call it and it was awesome and get to watch football and don't have to worry about going practice the next day so it was pretty cool. What about players in the league so many of our Canadian I would think until I them? It doesn't mean that much even for the blues on this trip I guess they'll end up in Dallas swore Thanksgiving as a player. Though you're an American player was Thanksgiving always sort of disjointed. Because you're in the middle of the season tired because in your plan you know sometimes yeah like you said you'd be in. It's it's hard because you don't get the celebrated as often as you like to. You know your family like you could be any city so but we you know we try to. You know like Canadian things if you try to you know wherever you I tried to make the best of it and enjoy it and you get a lot of multicultural players on your team. So you you'd find away making special the one and only big wall let's see Director of player. Recruitment for the blues a Should be soon hall of fame. Player layer the Robert. Thomas is landlord but most importantly this week terrence dad in Tampa for little Tournament action down there big. Walt enjoy Thanksgiving thanksgiving. We'll talk to you soon. "We went blues the Great Brett Hull bringing this back? And let's talk about a former blue former teammate. And just kind of pick them at random but I I wanted to get your thought on Gary Younger who was a great blue great goalscorer. I didn't realize four hundred thirteen career goals and known for the iron man streak playing in nine fourteen. He was sort sort of towards the end of his career. While you got here but you were you were together for a couple of years. Give me your blink. When I say the name Gary Younger you could not lift his stick? He was so strong on stick when he wanted to score a goal Good luck if you ever gonNA lift his stake because I mean he his mindset was was was was so sold hold on scored goals all the time that I've never seen anybody play that way and for nine fourteen in a row and I think it was a coach's decision eventually later where they said him in this league. As you know that that's tough to do it really is and I'm he played hurt a mean he again was one of those guys that There were nights that that he wasn't hundred percent but he just felt that he was better than than a lot of the guys there at fifty percent. Then if someone else would have been at one hundred percent so He played hard and yeah. It was a coach decision. In in fact it was a it was for the Atlanta flames. That he was playing after got traded from us and it was actually against us that he actually broke that Ironman Streak Rica here in our own building when when they didn't play him that one night here in Saint. Louis I didn't realize it actually happened in Saint Louis and from the NHL headlines recent development. Mike Babcock out in Toronto. It tells me the leafs such a legendary franchise they haven't won since nineteen sixty seven. How about around the league former players guys? Who grew up in Canada? Is it stunning when you think about how. Toronto that great franchise hasn't been able to break through yet again. Well it's just a hard thing to do Martin. I think we saw it with the blues. Took let me talk to lose fifty one years I mean the blues. Were the only team that was was was was less than the Toronto Maple leaves because the leaves won the Cup and sixty seven before the blues came in so It's it's hard. It's very difficult and yeah. I mean being when you consider that it's the Mecca of hockey in Toronto. It is really kind of mind boggling That the leaves have not WanNa Cup. I mean I think it's harder harder nowadays in the CAP era To try to win the Cup but you know they've got a really good club so They felt that they had to be coaching change. They spend a lot of money on that franchise. I mean they spend a lot of money on babcock so I get in the that experiment is over and I guess they're going to try to go with the younger coach and and try to put everything together. But we've always we said this is the hardest trophy in the League to win. And sometimes you it's. It's the players falls and sometimes they believe it's. The coach is also whatever happens in Toronto. I'm glad we've already got a couple here in Saint Louis. What's a realistic expectation for? A guy like Troy Brouwer who comes in hadn't been playing for a while with skating a ton but knows the organization knows. Oh some of the guys I guess. So that's a little bit more of a natural transition what do you what do you think he can bring to the table. I think he just brings veteran leadership He's the guy he's a good guy in the locker room. He's as he's a really solid player on the ice Is Not going to back down from everybody and I think with Blues. Losing a guy like edmunds and I think you need a little more size and strengthen lineup the blues has got some some young you know light wingers and all of a sudden now you bring in a guy. That's that's been around a long time that's over two hundred ten pounds and Is Very experienced. He can score and he's still proved that he can score twelve goals last year in Florida. So I think this is a really kind of almost an insurance policy If anybody else goes down you need to have those veteran guys and and certainly Troy A good guy and he fills that role very well and once he saw the visa issues cleared to play to solve the number issue. He was debating what number to wear. Ended ended up back with his thirty-six which he wore in Saint. Louis superstitious about A. You're twenty four f forgetting it when you went to Detroit. Did You keep the twenty four and I went to forty two appropriate head. Twenty four jail but He was going to get out of jail eventually and I did not want to have his number because I knew when he got wouldn't look good if I was wearing his number so I waited with forty two. How great is that store? You haven't he was in jail at do they even say if you want Bernie you could. You could take until he gets back. No I'm good. I'm good well. You actually they. They they offered me to see you. You know because they weren't sure what what Bob Status of it I mean they mentioned and I said forget that right from the start. So it'd be the last thing that I would want to do with probably around would've and that would mean totally foolish that has to be a career. I say your number's available. But it's only because the other guy is twenty four all along as a kid all the way up. No no I wore. I wore fifteen in junior With the blades. And when I came I mean we didn't really get to request what numbers that we wore for Blue I in fact when I first got called up the first time we got called up Just before Christmas of seventy six I actually wore number fourteen For a couple boy games but I played and then when I came back the second time I got twenty four and that's the one I wore so yeah so yeah but I would love to have fifty but Floyd Thompson was wearing fifteen and I wasn't GonNa make request any any sweater. They gave me with any number on. It was gonna be fine with me and I think we've established you're not unlike a lot of hockey guys. You're not real superstitious superstitious. You don't worry about a lot of weird stuff that some of the guys do. No no I mean there were certain things I did. I mean but it was mostly because of the comfort of my writes. Kate was always. I felt got looser quicker so I always tied. It lasts but it was more of a of a comfort Other than a superstitious Bernie. Great to talk with you have a great Thanksgiving living in. We'll talk to you again soon. Thanks do you have a great Thanksgiving as well. That's the hall of Famer Burqa with us. It's pucks with Bernie Hanger presented by Triad Bank. "Six forty six Todd Jeffries and Don prior activists are calling for Moore equity in admissions to magnet schools in the Austin school district magnets have been a hot debates as of late two. And now there's a call to revamp the way the Austin school district makes those campuses available to kids in east Austin, just east Austin attorney Jim Harrington he says east Austin is a little bit different than the rest of the city. Therefore, they should be given a leg up through guaranteed admissions for the top five percent of each Austin campus areas top five program like the top ten percent that we use for the universities is the way to do it to assure that diversity now. Now, the conversation got heated during some recent Austin school board meetings discussing this new report recommends ending the magnet programs and closing some schools redrawing the boundary lines as way to save money and increase revenue. The report comes from the task force of up to thirty staff and community members to establish this study for the district's budget. And and basically this group says shut them down Robert Thomas, one of the task force chairs he told the trustees they can choose to ignore his group's report as previous boards have done, buddy. Said radical change is needed to stay afloat financially and bring equity to all schools in the district. I mean Thomas he said this task force. She says approximately three thousand of the eighty two thousand students in the district or part of these programs. So it it doesn't affect a whole lot of kids. But Jim Harrington the Texas civil rights project. He says we need to create a program. So that if you're in in east Austin school, and you're the top five percent of your class that you could get automatic emissions into one of these magnet programs. And here's why east side is different than the rest of Austin. You can't rely upon internet applications in the way that west Austin might there you go. Leads to explain that. Does. He mean, the kids aren't smart enough to go online to apply or the parents aren't does. He mean, they don't have Google fiber. Does he mean, they don't have a computer? Does. He mean that they don't have access to paper printouts at their school to fill out the application. What is he talking about? Yeah. He did. Because it sure does sound it. Sure does sound demeaning of east Austin. Well, it does it makes it sound like a bit like a third world country or something. And that that is far from the case. Resolve that the kids that he's talking about a very capable. Oh, they certainly know how and where to get on the internet that he doesn't think they're capable. What does he mean by needed to go a step or two he needed data few sentences to that statement that that's for sure because he didn't sell it? I'm not buying it. And you did not represent them. Well at all. All right jump in here at five one two eight three six zero five ninety toll free eight seven seven five nine zero five five to five. So last night. A lot of debate in the Twitter verse over property tax reform, locally lawmakers this week a really ramping up their efforts to talk about it. Don't putting a cap on how high local governments like the city council of Austin can raise your taxes. Mayor Adler would like to be able to raise it as much as he wants whenever he wants. He recently during the last session, he went to the capital testify against a property tax cap. Now governor abbot would like that cap to be around two point five percent. In other words, every year when a city council or county government does its budget. They can raise taxes it's well within the law to do that. But once it reaches a certain point, they have to go to the voters right now, the mayor and other county officials would like that to be eight percent if they want to go higher than eight percent increase, then they would have to go to the voters the governor other top leadership at the at the capitol. They won't that captain be at two point five percent. If you wanna go above that, then you would have to go to voters. So that is a debate that is underway. The state capital beginning this week, in fact, Ellen trucks, Claire who comes in occasionally of Wednesdays with a she won't make it today. Because she's going to be testifying. She's the one that really, you know, was a thorn in the side of mayor Adler during the past couple of years on these issues taxes and tax increases. I I guess I'm going to have to excuse myself from this this conversation because I clearly don't understand how this works because Adler keep saying we've gotta we've got to address. This affordability issue in Austin yet he wants to have full control on on the tax on the tax rate, and he wants to be able to raise it whenever he damn well pleases. Oh, I guess I just don't understand that you, you know, you do understand completely confused. Undergo you got it. You're you're spot on he wants to get as much as money. He wants to dig so far in your wallet. He can check your prostrate. He wants to get so much of your money to build a forcible housing's, higher taller, more density and get 'em packed downtown. Because those are his core core voters period, it's all about maintaining power and keeping up with with their favorite programs. Greg Kosovars is the leader on all of this. So making all Austin less affordable for me makes Austin more affordable for him in his constituents. Yes. Thank you. Yes. I understand now. It's very clear I'm leaving. But this it's a big deal because this is how cities balanced the budget. They like to increase taxes for their favorite projects. I wish he would just stop talking about the Ford ability. She really it. It's it's so hypocritical. Just just drop that from your whole thing. And. Just accept this going to get more expensive to live here every five minutes, and then not to mention how this affects our public schools. This is how we fund public school, right? Right. Right. In the rears six hundred million dollars this year alone. We're sending back to the states who's part of recapture and Robin Hood. I keep forgetting how generous I am very general. I am a Saint you are and you're welcome. You're very, yeah. Absolutely. And A there's shame. a sad story. Lake Travis high school, man, what a horrible story. This is this. Yeah, I'm guessing the kid Sean attack the teacher. Well, the story is he got a bad grade. And he came to school, I guess last week or earlier this week and just just knocked the hell outta went to town sucker punched her several times in the name off the top turnbuckle took another kid in the classroom to jump on his back to stop him. They did he kill. He he might have had an intention to killer. Who knows how far this this kid was going to go classroom of where it happens say the student was upset over a grade and walked into the classroom and just sucker punch the English teacher right in the face junior. Clay jackson. He spoke with KFC. And he says he just came in and threw a punch a right hook to her face. And then hit her multiple times in the head. The district has not confirmed any of the details. They're not going to talk about this. Of course. And the kid was arrested. His identity has not been released students reported the teacher was not in the classroom. The following day. Yeah. That makes sense. Yeah. Because somebody came in and beat her up. Now, the Travis county sheriff's office is assisting with the investigation and interviewed several witnesses several witnesses in the classroom Jackson said he he raced in to help the teacher as soon as he realized what was going on. I came up from behind him. I grabbed him his arms from both, you know, around both the bear hug, basically and held him until somebody showed up to help. Good for him. Well done, sir. Well done this is what men do is. Yeah. That's what men's men do. You don't stand there and videotape. It like is so common these days you actually get in you take action. This is so disturbing for all the obvious reasons. But it's also I have a hunch can't prove this. But I have a feeling this kind of behavior was demonstrated for him before in. This was maybe the norm. I hope not. But the fact that this entered his head to go beat literally beat up the female teacher is absolutely horrifying that is that is that is really really. Disturbing. And he again who knows just wonder how he was gonna stop. I wonder I'm wondering how common it is though. Because there may be incidents like this that that happened that doesn't get out into the public. Yeah. You know, there's dot an a whole lot of witnessing. You know of the incident. How common is it that teachers get attacked by the students? Shirley, there's some kind of record of that right with the ISD keep record of that teacher assaults. Surely, there's a human resource person that record of that. Right. We should we should try to find that out again thinking back on when I was in high school and middle school. I don't ever remember anything like this ever happening as for as a student literally attacking a teacher. Yes, we were all in shock today that I will never forget it the day sixth grade one of the students in in our class. I won't mention his name, but he stood up and called miss Yannis old machinists who was in her while she was probably just in her fifties. But she seemed at the time he told her to f- off well and in front of the class that was the most shocking thing I'd ever seen to that point. But beating up a teacher we had a baseball rude their baseball coach in highschool ditch. All right, one of the girls the volleyball team raped her. And when the baseball team found out about it that day at practice. Little street Justice. Yeah. That coach was never to be seen again. I don't condone that. Todd and Don show, Matt so Rancho Austin's favourite Tex Mex food since nineteen fifty two. Yeah. We love to go there. That's for sure. I gotta say that's definitely Austin's favorite restaurant because you see so much of Austin. They're all aspects of Austin, great place to go. They can also bring it to you though for your corporate event.

He's been arrested for allegedly beheading and dissecting his mother's dog. No that was absolutely rude. This according to round rock police. And that's how they were able to identify this dog. And he's now been charged with animal cruelty. Gladly caught him typically guys like this progress to something more vicious human being it's a it's a very common warning sign and wants to one version of some kind of Australian shepherd apparently we've had two days of horrible dog stores yesterday. We had the story about the teacher feeding a puppy to a turtle in front of the students. And then we have this today. Horrible pretty almost couple days for dogs. So the Austin. School district. Trustees have been seen seen a report detailing the recommendations for dealing with the growling of budget problems budget taskforce chairperson, Robert Thomas, says now's the time to take some bold steps towards fixing fixing the budgetary shortfall at a ISD. The reality is without doing something, fundamentally, structurally transformative that the risk to our students is too great. Now, what recommendation is the closure of fifteen schools, which Thomas says could save about eighteen million dollars a year plus maintenance costs. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And we're getting less students in this district. It makes sense to do that. Also, please you've been talking about this for years, and they're saying it again, what we might do is also sell some of the properties that we have. They have a lot of property that is doing nothing, basically they could sell that. We'll do it. Do it. You've been talking about that for years, you know, that the math will work now. Some ideas include. Cutting magnet programs. Trimming central office staff Eddie limiting historic property tax exemptions.
