"I would sort them over. Jared cook i would start him over. I started over dallas scattered. I think i might. Why would you start. This isn't so let's talk about that. Why would you start. Having ingram over. Jared cook because i think he'll get more targets and i think he can make more plays after the catch when he does actually catch the football whereas cook it just feels like the definition of touched on her bus tied on the. I still start just implied total in that game. What he's done the first two weeks like he should have scored last week in had very strong game league one. I think the way justin berbers playing right now is going gonna turn around so That game as much more high-scoring field to i. What is the game of the week. There's so many good games. I think it's rams box. I do but this is a good one charger. Tapes is a good one. Sneaky want is viking seahawks. That could be a long game. Sneaky bengals steelers could be a very good game is a great week row patriots saints. That's i mean that's that's the costanza. People were aware of this the saints last week. We're playing with their backup center on the road without. I think five offensive coaches and they were having trouble just getting the plays called and jameis. Winston said that he needed to speak louder. At the line of scrimmage and it was a really embarrassing operation last week they better clear that up the game and sean payton's coaching curve. All right i'm sorry guys. Green bay san francisco so green bay. Easy right i mean. We talked about rogers star jones. Start atoms robert onion starter set start. "Go to J. R in Anchorage, Alaska. Next up on CBS Sports Radio J R. Go ahead. Hey, thank you so much like, Listen, you definitely hit it on the mail. That is the reason when you're talking about what was going to be like in the room and in the In the locker room. That's the reason why I'm saying they're gonna trade Aaron Rodgers. I say this with certainty, because I think there's a facade there. There's attention there from what we're seeing. When the locker room with Roger's Greg Jennings spoke about it to Michael. Cindy talked about it. Randall Cobb has alluded to it. And I think that rounders is doing more damage building. Let me ask you a question. You think the locker room doesn't like Aaron Rodgers? I think the Aaron Rodgers as a whole is creating some sort of tension in there in the locker room. I agree on that. And here's why, Jerry, I'm gonna let you finish. Here's why I vehemently disagree with that all throughout the season, We praised Aaron Rodgers for how he handled this and the only time there's been drama Here is when Aaron Rodgers lost that now, all the sudden because of how we handle the post game press conference, I thought was an overreaction. Now they have to trade him. I think the guys in the locker room realized his importance. I don't think they're upset with him. What can I get? Can I add onto this? Them, Um Looking at the game. We're always talking. We're talking about Matt Lafleur making these calls and these decisions now you mentioned the fact that Aaron Rodgers himself didn't make some big plays, but they were dropped balls all all across. But I think that is to blame. Partly or mostly, is Aaron Rodgers because in the beginning of the game, we look at those first times that were in the red zone. He was just going for de Monte Adams and somehow not distributing the boss. Draw the players. Making them feel left out. And then at the end, they he was throwing the ball in, and they were. They were dropping it here and there, but If you have this mentality that he's just going to go for Davante Adams and you're just playing, um, you know, taking fake routes or just playing your role. It changes your whole concept. You're not prepared for the game, and you're not said because That's what that's all. I'm trying to say that I appreciate it. I think we're reaching here. Because, and Rogers couldn't move the ball on those two drives, or even when he got the Reds on the offense stalled. That now all the sudden the locker room isn't healthy. The gala Lazard loves and Roger. Think NVs loves Aaron Rodgers. I think Robert Onion who hate to say being nobody, but probably would be a nobody with that are Rogers. I think they all love him. I think a lot of people were overreacting. Any time something happens. It's the end all be all. Keep them trade him. Gotta have an opinion. I think you keep him. The guy just came off Vpc. So I think I want us to probably get a sitter and tell you I do. What's the benefit to trade him or not to get three first round picks and Vernon Jordan love on the field, and if he's not ready, what happens if you're in his confidence? I think you wait. And then Yeah. You really do believe in love? Then let's see where we are next offseason. I don't believe the trade package should be that much of a difference Mark in Sherman Oaks will get you on the other side. We'll get the closing bell in as well. We'll update You also on the poll question results, too, but first up with later CBS Sports Ready Update. We get to Bob useless. See me? Yes. Sports sports flag. Exact. There are a dozen games in the MBA at the top of the menu match up in Philly between the top team in the East and the top team in the West six years and Lakers to 20 to go in the third quarter. Philadelphia leads it 77 to 68 LeBron is 25 for the Lakers and Jo Ellan be 23 points for the Sixers up seven late.

"It was Aaron Rodgers becoming more vocal leaders throughout the year in that locker room with teammates and so forth on his mat Leflore called him, You know, kind of the heartbeat, the heart and soul. That team really grasping in blocking out of being that guy on that team into that point, you know he was a leader for sure. But maybe not to the point where he was this previous year and really bonding with everybody and getting on that same page. Think that that is one of the bigger positive gyre Alexander really coming on and being one of the top cornerback in the NFL and really proving himself to that point eyes? Definitely another big thing. Davante Adams. I think he took himself to another level. Robert Yeah. Robert Onion, developing himself in one of the better tight and especially in the Red Zone. In the NFL, so there are a lot of positives to take away for certain. No question. Okay, So then, as we sit here on the cusp of what is always a long off season, when you know there's an abrupt and kind of painful end two things. Um, the Question will remain. Aaron Rodgers. If you're the team, If you're the Packers, do you do anything if at all? Thus far is addressing Erin No, I think you just sit back. Let him clear is that I don't I don't think I'm all that concerned at all. I think maybe about Matt Leflore on. I start getting asked questions about Aaron Rodgers Not knowing what Aaron Rodgers said it. And soon before me. I'm probably calling here and going. What did you just say? Why am I getting ask questions like dramatic. It's so dream yet. Please, Please fill me is because the press is acting like you're leaving. So what is going on? That would be the first call. I was making that after and says, Dude, they're overreacting. Just relax. Okay, Fine. Sounds good. Enjoy your time off that would that would be the extent of it. I just I think they're all on the same page on I I think that's good, but This draft coming up here is it's just going to be huge for this organization because they're gonna have holes to fill that are gonna have to be filled for this upcoming season after two or three years from now, you know, if they lose the cabin king, they're gonna have to draft a cornerback relatively high. They're just gonna have to and I know fans want them to drop the wide receiver high, but They're going to need a corner of the gyre Alexander. They're going to need these offensive line help for Kenny Clarke. They're probably going to need a right tackle at some point here in this draft as well. So they're gonna have to draft for need in this upcoming draft versus the future, which is what they did in the last draft and I think they do that, and they can get a couple of impact. Ricky's this Packer team, you know very well might end up still winning 10 or 11 games next season. I think my favorite revelation from this season number one. Robert Onion, hey, certainly made a name for himself. And that's a credit to Aaron as well, but also the fact that we never heard Jordan Love's name again at once the season started. It was like the guy dropped into a black hole. Well, that was for you in the national media. Locally, uh, in the state of Wisconsin. People have been talking about that Jordan was draft pick all season long and into the playoffs because throughout the entire season, it's been boy if they would have just taken Queen, the linebacker who ended up going toe illegal Baltimore wherever when they should have made that pick instead of taking joining love Boy, the middle linebacker position would be taken care of boy they would have taken on you. Why receiver from San Francisco instead of Jordan, Love wide receiver would be taken care of right now. And so that that whole thing the Packer fan bases, not let go of all season long. The media necessarily hasn't let go of it either On maybe at some point, they will let go. But as of right now, it hasn't happened. Never a dull moment certainly won't be won this offseason either for Packers fans or for radio following this team and Steve Pfeiffer on Twitter at Sparky Radio, is part of the Wendy's big Show on the new Big show Radio Network, plus the co host of Green and gold in the postgame show on the fan in Milwaukee. It's great to have a couple of minutes with you. Thank you for sharing the angst with us. I appreciate it. Please don't let the bucks lose in a conference championship again cause I don't wanna have to relive this all over again. Please, please. Say it's dress ball for radio talk show hostess. Well, eyes you could imagine. Right now. There's absolutely nothing else that people want to talk about in Wisconsin in the Green Bay area, But the Packers belonged to the state of Wisconsin. Yes, there are other Teams that are that are getting their generating more and more interested in and greater following, But the Packers there the life blood, the green and gold, and so I appreciate Stephen a couple of minutes and yes, the off season has begun. It's going to be a more painful one, at least initially for the Packers and Green Bay faithful. But there were positive steps as I mentioned to Steve. I love the Robert Tunney an angle and the development. I also think it's really funny that Jordan love is kind of in a witness protection. Now it's like nobody's heard of them outside of the state of Wisconsin. All right, so we've got phone calls lined up. What athlete changed the entire course of a franchise..

"The cold in the snow anyway, so The right. Is this the most complete team that the Packers have had in a while? We know round Rogers is great. They have had three running backs that can run the ball. I like a couple receivers and the tight end a really complete team, huh? Yeah, there. They had a team like this since probably Super Bowl 45 10 years ago. They won the Super Bowl because they're really If you think about German, I'll send you probably people trying to bring up Patrick Mahoney's office in Kansas City, but it wasn't With Aaron Rodgers. What I think should be a unanimous people, m v p and matter floors often. In the second year, though in this offense Guys. Usually when you know EVP Matt Ryan go to Super Bowl. They did the same thing with the Rams and San Francisco. So is a very fluid offense. A lot of motion. Look for matchup. But again, they have a three headed head monster at running back That said that warranted best things in the league and I'll play action on an Aaron Rodgers is so good to play action. How could not going to go from just a few years ago? Aaron Rodgers bad teammate. People don't like to play with him to this year. Now, it seems like everything is working. The chemistry is great. I mean, where people make it too much of the whole bad teammate thing with Aaron Rodgers before that's overblown. I mean, it really is. Because you could think about everybody plays with him use you make a lot of money, get a lot of it a lot of receptions and you do well for yourself. But I'll say this at the moment, Cardiff In 13 years things were gonna be different. The first year of Battle of fluid offense. I think he went 29 test down four interceptions. That's a career year for most guys, he went back, looked at his own tape. Oh, that's what I'm doing wrong, and he improved that he has a food, the dialogue between him the coach and the office. According to that, nothing, I hack it. And they came up with a great recipe. And now trust me, it tastes so much better When you're back in the championship game again. I grew that he did. I think Mike McCarthy is time and calling it come and gone, and you could see the chemistry issues that he had with Aaron Rodgers Mat on the floor. So he has made. He's made a big difference. Obviously. What is it you mentioned? You had mentioned the motion You'd mentioned the offensive sets up the play action. But Matt, look for why is he so good? Why? Why has he changed these these Packers teams to where they are right now. Because it's something I mean for a most are you trained personnel, every place and for defense. That's difficult. And then he had one guy going to jet sweep in the hill run the stretch plays. I mean, he'll pull the center is a lot of things. He does isolate his players. He'll go a bunch y receiver set with three guys so close I can touch each other. And you're thinking is a past with his actual run those guys, you could have the block. Did he come back with the play action to the body? Adams, you know MPs and what he's got. And as you touched on early Robert Onion he had 10 catches last year, this year's 11 touchdowns. So this office is truly made for Titus and wide receivers. All right, Roy, I I haven't mentioned the defense yet. I'm sorry for that. Because you're a former All pro safety. You're a two time finals for the Hall of Fame, and I believe you're gonna make it because you were that good of a player. How good is this Green Bay defense? What is their strength and what is their weakness? Well, the first six or seven weeks. It was bin Don't break. It really was. It won't get in a lot of turnover about a lot of sex. You know, President Smith wanted to Smith Brothers would have paid a lot of money forgot bench. But all of the sudden they went upstairs and talk to pet it and say, you know, can we simplify this thing a little bit? Let us fly around every since then they've given up by 18 points, a game that would have led the league in points scored. So their top two in defense Now they're starting to get a lot of turnovers. A lot of stacks. What the what the Packers want to do it. Pray to God, they're up in the fourth quarter today, no matter the quarterback, that's when they had their best. When they're at their worst is what you saw last year against that Francisco when they could not stop the run, And that's just going to head to control the possession of a clock that mean Aaron Rodgers is on the sidelines. So that's the best thing in the worst thing about the defense. LeRoi did your Super Bowl champ. Does this team have that Super Bowl kind of feeling with the offensive defense, the chemistry, etcetera. No question about it. I mean, and that's just not a homer. Pick. If you have got M V P court back with a top 10 defense and a Pro Bowl running back, there's your recipe. That's what it takes. You gotta be able to run the football and not to mention got one of top all pro wide receiver. It's the makings of a great team. But then again if you don't beat on a brace Okay, You can stop. Listen to CBS Boys for the whole week. Hurry back off. Well, he's just Cody's faith in, he said. So if you don't want to hear all of that We have today and let people know the real goat. Okay, is in Wisconsin as Aaron Rodgers. That's awesome. Laroy Butler, who was one of the great Packers of all time, in fact, he live or you are you are known to have created the Lambeau Leap. 1993 against the L. A Raiders. So the story goes. You stripped the ball from from running back Randy Jordan and Reggie White picks it up. He runs a little bit, flips it back to you, and then you run in for the touchdown, and then you jump into the stands. Is that how it went Exactly. And I love our fans We're gonna have about 10 to 15,000 fans. They're included some especially worker than central workers. Fans are truly amazing. And I love that celebration because it has everything to do with the sand. Not so much for me. And not to mention our fans are our owners every franchise, okay? And I noticed pandemic has been hard over 400 over 400,000 beautiful Americans passed away. No rest in peace. And I my condolences to their family. But without the fans in the end zone, high fiving hugging you. We do miss up so hopefully we'll get something that they'll be loud today..

"VP of the season is and, uh it's gonna be a person who, you know he's won a couple of before. Hits, misses and messes Time to talk football after hours with Amy Lawrence, I'm not sure Aaron Rodgers need the political stumping, however, Davante Adams, his favorite wide receiver, who had 18 touchdown receptions this season, Hey, is more than happy to put in. Ah, good word for Aaron. The numbers are off the charts. 48 passing touchdowns the season for Aaron Rodgers, four of them coming on Sunday in the season finale as Green Bay locks up the number one seed in the NFC finishes the season at exactly the same record is a year ago, but again the differences There's no need to worry about a tie break. They end up with that top seed in the only by in the conference. 4300 yards passing 48 touchdowns, five interceptions. And if you didn't know He also sets a new career high in completion rate just shy of 71%. Hockey smiles abound way Larry V. With the call on the Packers, radio networks and congratulations to not just here in Roger's Davante Adams. About Robert Onion 11 touchdowns the season in his breakout campaign. The only players in NFL history with at least 45 passing touchdowns and multiple seasons. Peyton Manning. And now Aaron Rodgers. And in both of those cases are in all three of the cases, I should say. The M V P was claimed. So it shouldn't surprise you. If Rogers is currently the front runner that we have to wait until the NFL honors. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio, Our toll free line is 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. That's 855 to 1 to four. CBS If you were looking for potential challenger to Rogers as the M v P Well, Derrick Henry Beefed up his resume on Sunday. Time's moving people around..

"I'm guessing a little Pounded out games like this lambeau field christmas week. Derrick henry v. aaron jones. This game is going to get all kinds of offensive linemen fired up and aaron jones. Obviously he took over last week to mall. williams went out now. My question becomes you know. I was reading bob. Mcginn who's covered the packers forever. Knows more about them than just about anybody in the athletic last week. And he's like. I have a hunch that matt before has been kind of limiting aaron jones to unleash him in december. Well jamaal williams. Getting hurt obviously contributed to that but aaron jones goes absolutely psycho last week against the carolina panthers going for a one hundred and forty five yards rushing and thirteen yards receiving with a touchdown in that game. This is going to be a game. Were matt leflore against his former team. Remember he was the offensive coordinator when the titans unlocked. Derrick henry two seasons ago. He's this is going to be a run. The ball game. Even though aaron rodgers might be the favorite for nfl mvp. I think they're going to run. The heck out of football doesn't mean you want to sit down. Rogers doesn't mean you wanna sit davante adams. Both of those guys were disappointments last week. You know if not the rushing touchdown. Aaron rodgers would have eliminated a lot of people from contention in their fantasy leagues. But devante adam still got robert onion back in the end zone. Those guys you wanna play. I understand that but this is going to be an aaron jones football game and on the flip side. it's going to be a dare camry. Football game got it. Make sense alright. What about monday night. I'll be there again as well. I'm every stadium in the middle of nowhere. Ross yes or gillette stadium. Excuse me let stadium. bills patriots. The bills joe. They look so good man. There also look so good right now on offense. I know baltimore starting to come alive. Baltimore isn't even in the playoff playoff picture. But they're not act. If the season ended today wouldn't be in the playoffs. I mean right now. Buffalo looks like the biggest threat. Kansas city right. I mean because it looks like this team can score with anybody. The question i have here and this is a big one. If kansas city wins on sunday against the atlanta falcons and there is no reasonably. They won't win that game. I know the jets. Just beat the rams Buffalo cannot advance beyond the two seat so buffalo cannot get a by kansas city. Wins that football game so my question is does buffalo decide. We are hot. you know. we're the talk of. Obviously there always the talk buffalo whether they're good or bad but they're they're like the talk of the world of football right now josh allen and sean mcdermott brian. Cabell is the next hot head. Coaching candidate and stefan. Dick got hurt last week. Do you the buffalo bills decide. Let's let's take it easy. We've wanted vision. We can advance beyond the number two seed. Pittsburgh is a dumpster. Fire right now. Let's just take a deep breath and prepare for the playoffs. That is an unanswerable question. I'm sure sean. Mcdermott is going to be asked about it this week. I'll be posting stuff on my twitter account. Fantasy points dot com about that but this is a game. I'm worried about ross. Because it is on a monday so the bills come out and decide. Hey we're going to sit josh allen. And they decided that the morning of the game you are asked.

"Morning news. Here's Brian D. I've decided to make an executive decision. It's time to shut up about Aaron Rodgers weapons or lack thereof. I've been working in sports media in some capacity in the state of Wisconsin since 2000 and 10. This has been a storyline for his long as I can remember when or the Packers going to get Aaron Rodgers the help that he needs. He's got no run game. He's got no wide receivers. He's got no tight ends. The coaching is bad fire, Ted. Want to face a real harsh reality. Sometimes, Aaron Rodgers has been the problem, but that's a song for another time. It's time for all of this to stop. The Packers are 25 7 In their last 32 games, Davante Adams is the unquestioned best wide receiver in football. Mark was Valda scaling has as many touchdown catches as DeAndre Hopkins, Stefan digs and a Mari Cooper. Robert Onion is tied with all world tight end Travis Kelsey for the most touchdown catches in football. Sharon Jones is statistically a top 10 running back in the league. He's playing so well, he might price himself out of Green Bay. How about Jamal Williams, who's going to finish the season with well over 500 yards on the ground is a backup. And one of the bravest, most well regarded young minds in the NFL is calling the place. Now I know what you're thinking. Brian. What about the defense? It is awful. It's always been awful. Would you be shocked if I told you they've crept into the top 10 in yards allowed per game? Their 8th 8th, so I'll finish here where I started. It's time to shut up about Aaron Rodgers lack of weapons. They've got all the talent they need. If they don't win the Super Bowl this year, we'll have nobody to blame but themselves. This time of you just wouldn't be the same without the WTMJ holiday radio show. So even though we can't perform with fans in attendance this year, we're keeping the tradition alive. Eric, what's my role again? My tiny Jim No ghost of Christmas past. Not quite. Let me guess..

"You guys always make me feel so special when I'm on How you doing? You are special. Hey, how was Charlie Barons? Did you keep her moving? A what? Yeah, He was good. He was. He's a talented cat man. That was fun. I don't like that guy. Hey, makes Wisconsin seem like a bunch of morons. He's funny, Die irony, the irony and by the way, friend more time up by me and you'll know he's pretty spot on. All right. That's fair. Have you cranked up at new Erin Snow thrower yet feels like a weekend for Jason. Yeah, With the with the ballet Kam used. I was glad to hear that. It's not gonna put over until after midnight, so I am not eager to get that fired up. No. I was looking at numbers, Jason. I'm kind of a numbers guy like to dig deep a little bit. And you know, there was some talk earlier on in the season. Hey, maybe the Packers are just better designed to play in domes, then. In climate adverse conditions, as you might see at Lambeau Field. I had the dig but the Packers right 19th in pass attempts, 19th. I would not have guessed there that far down the list with remarkable efficiency. Mind you. But it does indicate what Matt Lafleur's said all along. Running the ball is critical in this offense. Yeah, and they haven't even done it that well, at times this season, right? I mean, obviously against the Bears. They got things going a little bit, and they have some success against the Eagles that as well, but You know, the big touchdown run by Aaron Jones inflated the numbers against the Eagles. But before that, Barris game, you know Aaron Joel to come back from the camp and Drin have been overly productive. Jamal Williams hadn't had a ton of production, so it is a little surprising that they're down there in attempt on Lee because It feels like Rogers is having such a great season. But he is and he's doing it. As you said, efficiently, completing nearly 70% of his attempts. I know you talked to coach the floor about Robert Onion. Earlier this week, and his numbers speak for themselves. I do remember the floor commenting on Tunney in during the preseason, and I don't recall who asked the question that might have been you, but it seemed at that time. Hey, he's gonna have to figure out a way to crack this rotation. And all of a sudden injury, an injury to do a side gig, Warren and here comes Tony and on the scene. I wonder if this is how the guar would have been used or if he's just taking advantage of the situation and being used in a way that Others just can't in that tight end room. Well, first of all, I don't think the Gloria is the past catcher that onion is and I think his absence you bring up a good point. Forced them to play Runyon more even in situations where maybe they weren't gonna throw the ball, And he, in turn, has elevated his blocking to become a more well rounded. Right now. Obviously, I think we all know them are Sadie's. Lewis is their best blocking tight end, but he chips in occasionally in the passing game, and I think it's vice versa. Onion I had. I had not realized this until I sat down and I was writing by onions Story for the State Journal last night, and I actually had a text the quarterback to confirm this. He mentioned in his answer about London on Wednesday that he remembers throwing to him. A few years ago. Late in the season. I was like cash that doesn't make sense. Rogers was coming back from the broken collarbone. He was running the scout team, and here came this former college quarterback and wide receiver that they had signed to the practice squad on December 5th 2017 and played with Rogers for about two weeks. On the on the look team and that that wide receiver turned NFL tight end was Robertson. Yeah, it was pretty amazing stuff. Realistically, Jason, the Packers take on the lines this Sunday. Is there anything we can learn? About the Packers in taking out of five and seven team on the road..

"67 yards and a TV on the season. 37 receptions 458 yards, seven TDs. He was undrafted in 2017 out of Indiana State. Green Bay is 83 there in first in the NFC north, and they're at home against Philadelphia Sunday. That is a CBS game, Robert Ton Yin is my guest. Robert. So good to have you on. How are you? Thank you. I'm great. Thank you for having me really good to have you. So you had a big game as I mentioned on Sunday, another one against the Bears. You have the fire perceptions, including that 39 yard TD and the third quarter. Can you take us through the play? What did you see on that play? Oh, yeah, We had a good, you know, play designed up with all of our you know, keepers and stuff like that in all of our play action stuff, and, uh, You know, just the right call the right time and put a good ball out there and, you know Seal the deal. All right, You seal the deal, and he did put a good ball out there. I gotta ask you. Those Sunday was another in a season for the enormous games for you, including that three TD game against the Falcons on Monday night. Back in October. You came into the season with two touchdowns since entering the league, and now you've broken out in such a big way. What is this year have been like for you overall? Yeah, I mean, You know, it's going is planning as I wanted. And as I visualized and you know, I get to come into a building with a great group of guys, a great group of coaches and who encouraged me to be me and be myself and be the best Robert Onion, So I can't ask for Much more than that for Ah, you know. You know the guys in this building Robertson and joining us? I think In a sense, you're kind of understanding what you've had to go through his example. One of the things that Aaron Rodgers talks about, as it relates to you, and your approach is the fact that you deal with that hip injury and you just kept battling through it, Aaron said. Quote. When you see a guy pushing through an injury like that, not making excuses and trying to suit up every single week, you can't help but gain a lot of respect for them and quote. It's really high praise from a guy like that. What was your approach to dealing with that injury and playing through it? And did you get the sense that guy's noticed the work you were putting in and how much they respected it? Yeah. I mean, last year was tough. You know you you know you go through an injury. I've never had an injury before in my life. So Last year was the first time where you know I dealt with that kind of adversity and No When when that stuff comes only thing I really know what to do is kind of work through it. So, um, like, Aaron said, just not making excuses about him just trying to go out there and do what's best for the team, even if it's you know. Whatever, Um you know, five plays or whatever, just to be on the field of the guys, But I think that just kind of lead over into the offseason, um, getting the surgery and then leading into a good, you know, work out. They get mindset coming into this season. Robert tell you my guest. You know, you mentioned that you never had an injury before, but it's not like you hadn't dealt with adversity before having gone through what you went through to get here. Did that help You prepare for an injury, Even if you've never had one before. Yeah. Just No stay in the course of the long season that you know it's the NFL. You know things happen. It's a physical, you know, violent game, But, you know, I just had to come to grips with that that something's happened for a reason. And you know, just how I respond to it is What's going to be the ultimate outcome for me? Yeah, I should probably not assume that everybody knows your story. But what I'm talking about here is and people are familiar with it. But for those who aren't you were a quarterback and McHenry, eastern Illinois. You're putting up big numbers, but the team didn't have a lot of success. So back in the day. What kind of attention were you getting from colleges when it came to recruiting Um, you know, just, you know, the basic average, you know, you know, couples, small school offers here and there and, you know, just, you know, if I get like some attention from a, you know, a Mac school, it was awesome. But You know, you know, it's all part of the process. You know, people go different ways and have different path. So you know, at the end of the day, my ultimate goal was to get to the NFL, You know, one way or another, right? I mean, there's so many different ways in so many different pass, and you never know where you gonna find a good player. Story goes, though, that your dad Bob made a master list of every D one school. Your mom, Tammy would email the head coach, the quarterbacks coach, the recruiting coordinator at every single school. And you will be searching for schools that needed a quarterback. I mean, like the whole family is all in. What was that part of the process like, Yeah. I mean, we went through with my sister. She played Division one volleyball at bowling Green. So she's two years older than me. So we went through that process with her, so it was a little bit Um, once I easier, but like we knew it was common, and, you know, we just tried to get you know my name out there as much as possible, just to, you know, get you know our foot in the door. And it worked out in the end. You see this, like your family made great great sacrifices. Sometimes your mom we drive, you know, one day camps at various schools like what were the road trips like with your mom and what That means for your relationship with your mom. Yeah, I mean, Some people don't get, you know, get the time to, you know, spend with their parents very often, Especially in like this day and age is just so much going on and so much distraction, but I was just Um, you know, force not in a bad way, but to be in a car right now drive around the country with my mom for a couple summers and you know You don't get to have those talks very often. You know, with your kids and your parents, So it was nice that All that time spent in a car. You're forced to talk. You're forced, you know. Not just any relationship, and that was good that it was with my mom and you know The relationship that we have now just, you know, drives me every day when I come the building, you know, to just give it that that one more percent just for my mom. I love hearing that. That's great. The way you lay that out. It's so true. I mean, I mean, I'm a parent and I've got teenage son. I've got another son in college. I know a lot of parents listening right now. I've got that same feeling like you don't have that kind of quality connection or time. And it is so important. So when you go through that, and just to get a shot in college, then you go undrafted. Then you get hurt, and then you grind. Now we're talking about you being a Pro bowl candidate. First off. What would it mean to you? Or what does it mean to you to be a candidate? And how much would it mean to you to go to the Pro Bowl? Yeah, it is crazy. Yeah, that you know, from where I was, You know, just a couple years ago. The where I'm at now. I mean, it is an honor. Um, you know to go to the program would be awesome. But there's only really one bowl that we're worried about here in Green Bay and We're trying to get that ring on our finger Robert Tony and joining me for a few more moments. It helps when you've got one of the best ever who's getting you? The ball seems like Aaron Rodgers has taken his game to another level this season. But you said that you knew he was going to have a huge year before the year began..

"Clock moving to 45 to go, and now Chicago will take its final time out. Lock stops writing to 45. But that is the final time out for the Bears will get a stoppage of the two minute warning. But the Packers go back to the air. Aaron Rodgers finds Robert Onion Rogers now over 200 yards in the game. The Packers have an excellent chance to do exactly what we were talking about, and the game with the ball in the hands of Aaron Rodgers, who is now down there, having A conversation with Queen Blakeman and both guys having a good laugh about he's thanking him for their earlier roughing the passer where they grazed his health, and he's thanking him for the protection and the player safety. That's what he's doing, right? Rogers back into the huddle. Defensive guys were all like. First down and 10 here for Green Bay. Rogers will go under center with Williams. The single setback to receiver to the right single man out to the left state. Brown goes in motion from left to right. Rogers will hand off Williams straight ahead. Williams along the left hash across the 30 yard line, too, about the 27 will be a run of four. And against Chicago cannot stop the clock tick down inside 2.5 to go Daniel McCullers on the tackle. Yeah, the Packers They play clock almost in sync. This should take us down to the two minute warning. I think everybody is looking at the play clock in the game clock. 15 on the play clock and looks like 2 14. On the game clock, so the Packers should be able to let this run down, just standing and watching right now. Now the two or 3202 to a one on that is the two minute warning here at Lambeau Field.

"You're listeningto football Sunday on ESPN Radio Packers. 21 holds 14 a minute 52 to go in the first half, and they went under the hood and saw what we saw That kickoff did hit. The goal line so they'll mark it up to the 25 yard line. A touchback. Barrett Jones, I'm Mark Tester. Sure that gives Aaron Rodgers a minute 52 1 time out with a seven point lead, but on the sideline for a while without six minute cold, Dr On first down. It's an empty backfield. Shotgun staff. No drop rose to the right side. It is caught by Adams and forced out of bounds by Darius Leonard after a gain of five Talked about in the bunch, Aaron Rodgers. He's really all about matchups. He's got such a brilliant football mind as soon as he sees Davante Adams that's over the line backer, which, by the way, there is a great linebacker. It's still a linebacker. That's a match up. He's gonna exploit almost every single player. 48 clock stopped as they got out of bounds from the 30 yard line. Second down and five Jamal Williams in the backfield off the right hip of Roger's two receivers each way snap to Rogers give to Williams up the middle, and he's taken down a yard short of the first out to the 34 yard line will bring up third and one after a four yard pick up just in Houston. With the stop is the clock rolls to 1, 35 and counting on behalf on Green Bay getting right up to the line here third down and one from the 34. Jamal Williams still in the backfield, Rogers waiting in the gun play clock. It 18 game clock down the 1 20 counting two receivers left one to the right. Adams on the right side motions to the end of the line eight on the play clock long hold for Rogers. Now he takes the staff give toe Williams bulls across the line to make for a first down out near the 35 36 yard line again of two very unusual there. Testy that Rogers just took 30 seconds off the clock there. Audibly in the line of scrimmage. I'm not really sure why We have one time out remaining, but you mentioned gave up a half minute. They're 42 seconds left in the half from the 36 Rogers floats to his left. Aaron loads up throw sideline in completing two receivers nearby. It was Robert Onion and Alan Lazard, and that'll stop the clock on the incompletion. Look, I get that they don't want to give the ball to the Colts with much time left, but Now they only have 36 seconds left got the ball with benefits, too. They have taken their time here on those first three plays. In Bay Packers number two in the league and points scored this year. Average, their number three behind the Seahawks and the Chiefs With 36 seconds ago, they had 21 on the board first half their at their own 36 yard line for the 21 14 leave. 100 takes the shotgun step drops back three yards flushed out of the pocket, rolling to his left being chased, and he has hit on the ankle and knocked down inbounds of the 46 yard line..

"I'd love to see these corners get their hands on him a little bit, And I know he's a wicked route runner. But once you give him space, I think you're just setting yourself up for him. Being able to do what he does best is shake you loose, and you think he's going one way and now he's out the other way, and he's got six yards of separation. So, um, no, I I think that I think Robert would love to do what he does and sitting in the cover three and you know that. That's where there that's that's the bread and butter of this scheme. But you also see a lot of quarter quarter half You saw Minnesota running a lot of cover to to his side last week, he was still able to take advantage of him with the with the three touchdowns. I don't know. I would like to see if it were me and I'm sure they'll know defensive coordinator. I want to see someone else beat my defense other than Davante Adams make Aaron Rodgers go somewhere else. And if that's obvious 2/1 on Davante Adams. Then it isthe. He's still got to get it to another player. I like the opportunities to cover. We'll see what happens with heart. I know he's questionable. I think there's a chance that he's going to be out there. In the lineup in terms of his coverage skills on on Robert Onion, So, um I especially early. I don't think you want And you remember last year in the championship game. They did nothing in the first half, And clearly the halftime adjustment was to come out and get it to Davante Adams. Yeah, and he ended up having a huge game. So Despite I think as much as Robert would like to sit in that base stuff, I I think you're going to see a lot of 2/1 on devante out of that white, wouldn't you? Yeah, When? Most times did you see Aaron Rodgers struggle like he did against Tampa this year when they lost 38 10. It's because the defensive line is overwhelming the Packers offensive line and especially as you said, without Bhakti, Ari. So how do you expect them to attack Rogers? Well again. I think they'd love to do it with just a four man rush and get pressure on him with a four man rush. They've got the opportunity to do that. I talked about the guys inside. It's time for Armstead to go man, and he's playing hard. It's not with the lack of effort. I know we played a lot of fast past teams and the ball getting out. There were some chances last week against Seattle. He's got overwhelm them like he did last year in a couple of those matchups, so especially when you talk about Billy Billy Turner out there and then when he gets inside if You know they get get him on Elton Jack. And so I think it's a pretty good player in your number two, but I think they can take advantage just watching the tape. I think they can take advantage of Lukas Patrick and I think they can take advantage of Billy Turner, and they don't have to blitz to do it. So whoever's lined up it lefty tea and left defensive end and I'd like it to be. Ah, Kinlaw and Armstead out there on the edge. It's time to step on the gas pedal man and get some production and get on the quarterback and start having a bigger impact. I'll hit up a few more things before the top of the hour. "But that being said, I think he has trust with his tight ends. And Robert Onion and Mercedes Luis. They didn't get tunnel looks yesterday, Tanya had two catches Lewis had won, but from a wide receiver standpoint, I do really think that he's got a ton of trust right now, with a gun. Amar Quezada. Scant lean or maybe a state Brownlee. Those guys m V s is such a He teases you tantalizes you with with flashes here and there. But here we are, What? Two years into his 10 year as an NFL player with the Packers, and it's still it's maddening, and he had a a drop yesterday that should not have been It's frustrating. You write the Lazard being out. That factor, I think is an important one. And the use of the tight ends. I mean, Tonya Rogers speaks highly and he could be a special guy. Stern Burger had the touchdown yesterday. The running backs out of the backfield. Running backs is targets in the passing game. You know, they've taken advantage of it. There's well so Maybe I got to pump the brakes a little bit alive. Where's all the other wide receiver panel on N. V s. How about this? So Adam's targeted 16 times He has 13 catches so three times he does not make the catch on target. N. V. S was targeted four times yesterday zero catches so he has. He has Mohr Mrs on targets than Adam's does. Despite the fact that Adams had four times as many targets, Packers beat Houston, 35 to 20. They do what they had to do. Pretty impressive Special teams Rough afternoon. "Left corner in the ends up touchdown. Touchdown. Bears were tied at 13 and his offensive team mates fly off the sideline to congratulate Jimmy Graham. Oh, yeah. Baby fourth touchdown catch of the year for one of the premier Red zone weapons in NFL history. Joanie AC on the Bear's radio network. It is worth noting that Mike Evans has six touchdown catches. Robert Onion has five and Jimmy Graham has four This year is going to be so upside down. I absolutely love it. And so that was a dart from Nick Foles, and it was a one head and grabbed by Jimmy Graham. And you almost forgot that this offense had been struggling. The streaky bears looking pretty nifty on that scoring drive that gives them the lead going into the halftime locker room. It's after hours here on CBS Sports Radio. 14 points for the Bears in a minute and 12 seconds. But that was the last time we would see either team in the end zone man the third quarter it was marked by penalties. It was marked by one step forward and 17 steps back. Have you ever seen so many third and 27th and third and thirties in your life, But usually that's a one weekend a one time a weekend occurrence. I swear there were seven or eight different shit where the bunks and the Bears were stuck in 2nd, 27, 3rd and 30. There were way too many third and long in this game for both teams. Specifically in the second half. And while you got to give credit to the defense's both teams had bad penalties. Both teams just had bone head snaps, and it's difficult to convert on third and long when you've got the two defense is applying pressure the way that they did both defense's were getting to the quarterback. So foals and Brady eat, sacked three times in another 15 combined hits. I thought it was kind of telling. And really a maybe a microcosm of the frustration of Tom Brady in this game, where Khalil Mack comes around the outside, just kind of unimpeded in the third quarter, and he knocks down Tom Brady is a relatively light hit. It's not like he hurt the guy or anything. Great. He's not frail. He's fine. But still you got to be careful how you hit the quarterback these days. So Brady goes down turns into the basin Coolio MacInnes like hands up. Kind of like what is happening. What? How did you get here that quickly? So Yeah, there is frustration in the side of both quarterbacks in the second half because the defense's were ratcheting up. Pressure and so they kind of trade field goals back and forth. So inside the two minute warning. You've got the Buccaneers up by a couple of points. And here comes the nick Foles that works well under pressure. Honestly, that's one of his great assets is that the pressure doesn't get to him. And so Chicago converts a third down. Ahh, gorgeous throw that kind of dropped into David Montgomery. When there's multiple defenders around him. It was only Montgomery who could catch that ball, real soft touch. And so Cairo, Santos, then lines up a 38 yarder. One of those moments where I thought, man it would be great to have a full house at Soldier Field. He lines up a 38 yarder. He kicks that field goal. But how many of you have the same thought that I did, Which is? Oh, there's way too much time left on the clock. Amid 13 for Tom Brady to go out there, and all he's got to do is move the bucks into field goal range because they're only trailing by points. So still over a minute for Brady. And after an initial first down, too, Mike Evans, I'm thinking Oh, man. It's only a matter of time until they get into field goal range. But then the Bears defense clamps down and what do we have? But we've got the Tom Brady Buccaneers facing 1/4 down. Fourth in six.

"Edition Graffiti and Brian D. Let's talk about him. I wasn't even aware of this George Kittle connection in San Francisco. How did that happen? Yes. So they've become good buddies. They have the same agent, so they started training together in the off seasons. It obviously, kiddo is rubbing off on time. You're in a big time way Kills become a superstar is one of the top two tight ends in football, along with I think Travis Kelsey in Kansas City is the other name that comes up in that conversation. But Robert Onion has developed into this guy that has these really great rescue receiving skill sets. He could block a little bit a swell and he's becoming that hybrid that George Kittle has really perfected over the last couple of years. Did you see George Kendall stat line from his game? 15 targets in a loss, albeit than I was when I was 15 targets. He caught 15 bullets for 183 yards and scored. He's a free man. He's the guy. Yeah, he's going to be learning that he's killed the Packers and the Times they've played them, but it's what I love about. This story is one that shows the camaraderie the NFL, but too you have a superstar George Kittel and a guy like Robert Tanya, who's just trying to feel his way. And now that partnership off season has resulted in and so far an epic story of a guy kind of coming up through the ranks and then really being something in the spotlight. Absolutely. And George Kennan was excited for him Last I'm tweeting about you can't be stopped with three exclamation points with the highlight of Italians third touchdown into our point that we're talking about. Earlier with, You know the way that this this offense has had to adapt. Given the injuries, that's one more piece of this. They've been able to use the tight end I looked. I think I saw it on social media. Last night, I heard, one of the announcer said Graham had five touchdowns and two years of the Packers. Yeah, Tanya's got what? Four in 55 and 45 forget forward tied for the NFL, but believe that the production is is infinitely better than what Jimmy Graham was giving. You infer substantially less money at this point. So what another take away from the game? I was I was curious about the defense last When I tweeted out something before the game, I expect this is a game where I expected to play while they did. Atlantis had their problems. They are also very, very injured, but they have offensive weapons and they didn't really utilize them. You mentioned Ridley. This is a team that has has not fared well in four weeks. No, they haven't. They've really struggling. You know, they've had some good moments. They've blown huge fourth quarter leads. We talked about that on a T M. J's opening drive yesterday afternoon, two of their four losses so far, they had double digit fourth quarter leads against the Cowboys and the Bears. Squandered both away. So it's not to say that this is a bad football team that the Packers beat last night like they've had good moments, but it is a credit to my pattern in the defense to be able to shut down a team with Calvin Ridley, who we talked about was the leading receiver in the NFL Pride of this week. They held them catch lists and yard Lis. Last night's Julio Jones came back. He's been one of the best in the league forever. Now he's a little bit dinged up with a hamstring injury, but he was held in check. Todd Gurley ate a little bit scored twice. But you khun, like I said earlier in the inn, you know, Tuesday morning. Back today. You can give up a couple of touchdowns if your if your offense is scoring 30? Yeah, The other thing that was we didn't mention this. Kenny Clarke was out again. And that was that would be a player, a top notch player, and even that will be probably returning in a couple weeks. That'll also both of this defense. Get those Those secondary members healed up. This could be a a great match up in a couple weeks. Yet for sure. And you know, one thing that I saw that I think is a great take away on the accident. Mortgage talking Tex line from Mike in Heartland's 855612616 20. He is where he got Aaron Rodgers getting a little bit of tunnel vision on the offensive side of the ball when Davante Adams comes back, because obviously he's going to want to focus on his guy 17 who's a freak, But over the last couple of weeks since he's been out, some other guys have proven that they're worthy of getting looked at Robert Tanyon being one of them. Jamal Williams out of the backfield last night being one of them so something And I had going forward that I think it's a valid takeaway from last night from the last two weeks. Brian the joining a Monday morning quarterback Tuesday edition Orion from West Bend brings up the topic. We discussed a little bit last week. Are they going to pay the man? Aaron Jones had another great game, 100 plus receiving and running yards rushing yards? They're gonna pay the man. I also have him on my fantasy that saved me Go into the win column on Ryan asks on the on the accident. Mortgage talking text light is going to get Christian McCaffrey type of money, which is 16 million. I don't Dollars in here Now he's that productive of the player. He's that virtual of a player, you know as Christian McCaffrey yourself. Is he deserving of that kind of contract? Yes, but the Packers are notoriously frugal when it comes to anybody not named Aaron Rodgers. So I would be surprised. That doesn't mean they won't get a contract. Don't get creative with it. But I would be shocked if it's McCaffrey type of money. If you'll get recent running back history, the Amman Green's the Edgar Bennett's We Go back a few decades, they have paid some of their better running backs. But he is not going to get that kind of money. And that is something that they certainly have to be aware of. When they're talking about the future of this team. We'll take a break after the break. You're certainly welcome back mortgage talking tax land 855616. 16 20 John has weighed in. We'll get to that one. And then we're gonna look at the schedule. Beautiful timing for a bye week. Let's seal up were for no tied with the Seahawks for the best work of the NFC. "How would you describe what we have seen to this point? Some of your answers are cracking me up. You always so melodramatic course. If I've learned anything about social media to this point in my life, it is that people tend to be very mellow, Dramatic on Twitter and Facebook, But I like this pay this post from George One month in the NFL is beautiful, he says. Yes, the fact that we have football and its continued its going strong now one month in Is beautiful, Brian on Facebook. I give it a 10 out of 10. I don't know if you all love the product, and some of you may not even be watching, But I am still billing the same way that I wass when we got to this season openers, which is grateful that there is football. Over me. The NFL is comforting. It's a relief. It's exciting. It's entertaining. I know it's not what we've expected. Or we come to expect in the past, with full stadiums and authentic crowd noise, though I do love it when they're even 6000 fans 12,000 fans 20,000 fans who are spread out around the stadium because that noise is authentic, and it reminds me of where we're headed at some point as we continue through 2020 and then on into 2021. So for me having the NFL to look forward to every Sunday and watching it kick off and knowing that it's survive some initial hiccups and some initial obstacles really have to say to that one month in the leadership of both Roger Goodell and Tamara Smith has been exceptional. You don't have to like those guys and generally, leaders at the top are not liked. And we've described Roger Goodell as one of the greatest villains in sports. But if this season continues On and they get through a pandemic essentially uninterrupted. So one game now postpone and rescheduled another game push back a day. One team dealing with an outbreak, but more protocols coming that have penalties and discipline attached to them. You couldn't ask for much more from Roger Goodell and his team and from Demaurice Smith is the head of the NFLPA. Even though a lot of the attention has gone to the Titans with the 20 different players and staff members who have tested positive It's still a very small percentage. Of the entire league with a number of tests. They done hundreds of thousands of tests. Can we still have two games of money? I football and we still have Aaron Rodgers running around Like he's 20 years younger. We still have Six teams that are undefeated four teams that are desperately seeking their first victories and everything in between. We waited a long time for the league to return and the league itself. Made sure that it crossed all of its teas and dotted all of its eyes to the point where we can see Quarterbacks counting their touchdowns when they're standing out there on the field where we can see a Robert Onion, taking advantage of an opportunity that was handed to him because the Packers are without Two of their top receivers and in their top tight end And here he is tied with Mike Evans for most touchdown reception through one month. There are a lot of teams that are taking advantage of Their schedules taking of age of Maybe the consistency in there coaching staff in their personnel there using this first month to find that consistency and to develop What they believe to be a contender. I love the fun surprises. I love the names we didn't expect. I love Aaron Rodgers. I love Aaron Rodgers. Thank you. Tom Brady. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS boards radio. One Monday to.

"I thought it was a good no call to they were some. There was some banging going on down the field, but the ball was you know, was so far out of You know how to reach that. I thought that that's one that you have to let go because the banking was going on both sides but interesting that they threw it and then all of sudden picked it up that quickly If the Packer 27 2nd down 10 Rogers in the gun, four man defensive front for the Falcons dark green jerseys. Gold pants for Green Bay. Fake jets sweep back to pass Roger's down the middle throws twisting catch made 45 yard line past 50 and down, too, with the Robert Onion catch. To the 46 Yard line of Atlanta tackled on the hash mark. It's a gain of 27 with the Rogers pass to the Green Bay tight end. One thing that's become a part of this offense is the jet sweet motions that you just talked about? There's always gonna be motions and shifts within this offense ran a fake jets sweep there that pulled up the back side linebacker on the play fake Aaron Rodgers able to replace it. With his tight end on the backside. 46 of Atlanta, first possession for Green Bay. No score first quarter shotgun snap first in 10 short pass thrown laterally in the 50. It's Popeye Jones running back to the near side 45 on the near side line, the 40 in front of the Green Bay bench. He's belted out of bounds on the near side by a little con, and it's a game to seven through the air on a short pass out of the backfield to the 38 of Atlanta. And Aaron Jones really is the centerpiece of what they're trying to do here. Obviously running the football as we've talked about numerous times but really has become dynamic in the past games. So we talk about some of these. Wide receivers being out on the outside. Don't be surprised number 33 becomes an integral part of what they're doing in the past 38 of Atlanta, Green Bay's second down three Rogers under center. Has three receivers wide One running back jet sweep. Handoff goes to Aaron Jones over the right tackle 35 outside the hash mark to the 30 and Jackal to the 29. Gehna 10, a burst of 10 over that left offensive end over his right tackle now without the benefit of the huddle with that game, attend Green Bay's got a first down 29 of Atlanta over under on How many times you say.
