Keeping Powell Over Treasury Is Better Than It Could've Been
"Jerome Powell's going back to the fed I am both relieved and not relieved, but it's better than what it could have been, Brian, but what do you think of the move? Yeah, well, it is better than what it could have been thrown palace. Led the fed this far. I think he's created inflation, but at least the fed is moving towards tapering, which means buying fewer bonds every month. They shouldn't be buying any, by the way. And then they will raise rates late next year. Early 2023 and so yes, I was amazed that he was reappointed because my feeling my feeling was that him talking about tapering Jerome Powell that is and Jerome Powell saying he wanted to raise rates. I thought that would get him canned. Raising rates certainly sent didn't do it. It surprised the market, too, and it had a minor sell off, not a big sell off, but it was it wanted easy money forever. Because investors do. They know that inflation is good for stocks. Everyone with their equity money and says, oh, sure, print more money. My stocks will go up. You know, Brian, when we were together in Atlanta, you explained to people, we have a 130% more money in the system than we did two years ago. And last of the same number of goods. I read an extended piece this week that the former national security adviser ambassador Robert O'Brien sent to me about we're just not producing what we produced two years ago because of COVID. And we have a 130% more money. Of course we're going to have inflation, and by the way, it's not 6%. It's double digits, according to this analyst. That's exactly right. We did the worst combination of policies that you could do for a market based system to create wealth in the past 24 months. By shutting down the economy, locking down, we destroyed information, supply chains. Because supply chains are just information. I mean, you think about it. There are rock solid rock rip truck drivers in America who are driving across the country to bring liberals in New York City, whatever they
Could Mike Pompeo, Robert O'Brien, Make a Run for POTUS?
"Yeah, David drucker, I am going to moderate a debate of would be senators in ohioans on a night, the 6 Republicans who are running three nights at Senate to replace rob Portman, and I'm reading in Trump shattered or prepare for that debate. They might want to get a hold of a copy themselves if they want to know what I'm thinking about. I think you're going to sell like hotcakes. I can not wait to read this, but I wanted to ask you, I know that two of the profiles in the book are of Robert O'Brien and Mike Pompeo. I was with both of those men last week. I'm curious what your assessment of both of their intentions and odds are showed president Trump not enter the race. And if he should. Well, it's very interesting. Let me start with Mike Pompeo, the former Secretary of State because I spent so much time researching him and reporting on it. He wants to run for president. And in fact, in a podcast interview a couple of weeks ago and it's a companion to my book, so it's also athlete titled in Trump's shadow. I asked secretary Pompeo, if I said I know you're not going to tell me if you're running or not today, I'm not that I'm not that crazy. But I said, if Trump decides to run a third time, does that automatically mean you will not. And he would not say as some have said that that automatically means he would not. He said, look, if you're going to run for president, you need to believe that you have something unique and critical to offer the country at a time in history. He is planning to run and everything he is doing is about planning to run. Robert O'Brien, who I profile less, but did mention is a very interesting figure because he comes from the traditional wing of the party, but he fit in very well with Trump in The White House and was his most successful national security adviser from the perspective of doing the job and not getting crosswise with the commander in chief. Could be a very interesting dark horse candidate as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He's a Mormon. He comes from the west. There are pockets of Mormon voters in Arizona and Nevada, Idaho, other states where multi candidate primary, you might be able to do some damage. He's also interested in running. I classify him as less interested in Pompeo.

The FDA Dithers Over Approving Booster Vaccine
"The fda has got the ability to approve fighters booster in. Israel have approved this booster. Israel has been ahead of us on the science at every step of the way except for the invention of the vaccine. Which did i follow. Closely by. Madeira and johnson and johnson israel. Roll that out. Israel got immune i. Israel says we're doing butchers and everyone gets one why because it will stop the fourth way to completely intuitive the risks are minimal. they're not non existent occasional case. I mean very rare cases of young men getting inflamed heart condition very rare. Very very rare. That happens anyway and and everyone should get the vaccine. I've told you that many times. It's a no brainer. A no brainer. A no brainer. But unless you've got an underlying medical condition that says don't get immunity but you. I don't believe in the government max a vaccine mandating vaccines because we are free. People and people get to make choices in this country. One of the choices ought to be to get a booster. And i'm going to get rich and his. I'm six months out. Which is this week from my vaccine. Why because i don't want to get this. And he i don't wanna break out i don't i have seen. I have too many people on the spectrum from a cold former national security adviser. Robert o'brien to their dad dad and people in between all those died in didn't and people who stayed home for a week or two weeks or three weeks and felt horrible and long cohen. It's not worth it. I don't want to have to use ivermectin although i believe. There is some independent verification of its effectiveness. I don't wanna do that. I don't wanna get it. I want to be here talking to you every morning. And i want people to be smart. If you're driving to work listen to me. This is not even a close call. The way the potential downsides against the potential risk. That's life it's not a close call. Go get vaccinated. Go get a booster. Should you can get a
Trump Ally May Run for President in 2024
"You wrote the first piece about my buddy robert. O'brien last seen in california. Moderating the california recall debate with me doing a fine job. I thought he'd be signed by. Nbc cbs or abc. This week are fox because he did such a great job. But you think he's running for not thank. You picked up signs. He may be running for president. I think that he is interested in running for president. I don't think it's necessarily a slam dunk away. I think with some other people that i've covered and then i've written about extensively. I do think that miserable. Brian ambassador. O'brien is hearing from. At least some people with not a number of people that have encouraged him to run because they think he brings something to the table from a foreign policy perspective and just from the perspective of having a pretty logical conservative thought process and he also has relationships in the trump wing of the party as well as the traditional party amount of the traditional wing. He looks probably the best national security advisor. Trump had was able to navigate all of that stuff and he was able to navigate very girl president. I think some people see him as an interesting candidate and he is now doing with all the rest of them are doing in order to laying the groundwork for a possible bid he's focusing on helping republicans running twenty two As i reported he's he's hosting or headlining a fundraiser. For jd vance. He ohio senate candidate and he's going to be traveling. The country helping other congressional candidates for the republicans so it added to the list.

Trump defends coronavirus response amid revelation he downplayed threat
"Did not want to drive the country into a frenzy. And so he purposely downplayed the severity of cove in 19 at the time, knowing how serious it actually wass ABC News chief, White House correspondent Jonathan Karl says. This comes in response to a new book from journalist Bob Woodward. It's all on tape President Trump bluntly acknowledging the Bob Woodward he fully understood the deadly threat posed by Corona virus and that he was misleading the American public about it. In his book Rage. Woodward writes that national security adviser Robert O'Brien Told President Trump on January 28th that Corona virus quote will be the biggest national security threat you face in your presidency 10. Days later, Woodward interviewed the president, and they spoke about the virus. Here is an excerpt from the audio tape obtained by CNN. Just breathe the air. That's how it's passed. And so that's a very tricky one. That's a very delicate one. It's also more deadly than your You know you're even your strenuous flues for more deadly. This is five per. You know, this is 5% versus one present in less than 1%. So this's deadly stuff. But just three weeks after that, the president told the American people. Krone virus is like the flu directly contradicting what he told Woodward. This is a flu. This is like a flu Within a couple of days, There's going to be down to close to zero. Uh, that's a pretty good job with you may ask about the Corona virus, which is, um, you know very well under control in our country. In another interview in March, the president candidly acknowledged the Woodward. He wasn't being up front with the American people. Now it's starting out. It's not just all people by produced today and yesterday Some startling facts came out. It's not just old older people to plenty of young people. It's clear just from what's in on the public record that you went through. A pivot on this to Oh, my God. The gravity is almost Inexplicable and unexplainable. Well, I think really be honest with you here. I want you. I wanted to, uh, I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down. Yes, because I don't want to create a panic and the very next week, the president said this America will again. And soon be open for business. Very soon a lot sooner than Three or four months of somebody was suggesting A lot sooner. We cannot let the cure being worse than the problem itself. The president was asked directly if he was misleading the public in order to prevent a panic, and he acknowledged again. He had been well, I think if you said in order to reduce panic, perhaps that so the fact is I'm a cheerleader for this country. I love our country. Campaigning in

"All my friends out there the buffaloes lost their head coach Mel Tucker to Michigan state overnight there's bond out as Wisconsin fans you can't ever seem to win anything I'm joined by representative Mike Gallagher of the great state of Wisconsin that can't everything to win anything he however is on the Armed Services Committee out of the house represented we got tired of the DOD budget but congressman Gallagher can can we began by by getting your reaction New Hampshire results last night well first of all here your preemptive strikes on Wisconsin and your lies you're you're you're lying dog they only colder all right yeah it's still not been what living yeah I I have an online golf is only sold great I have enough experience the presidential primaries be wary of making any connection but it's clear we have to take the possibility of trump versus Bernie Sanders net general election I think it's fair to say that money is the front runner and long confident that president trump would defeat Sanders and I had a had a troubling that a socialist like Anders would take over the Democratic Party I think there are many factors driving standard popularity in the last and one of those is the transformation of Congress and the political party the platforms for performance rather than professionalism are legislating and Janice was really an early adopter of the grant any file that is not popular in Congress you get in Catholic impassioned floor speeches to an empty chamber spreading an unrealistic far left message that can only be in the kind of always on media environment we live in today and appealing to a small but vocal minority of voters and I think it's sad that a candidate like him can process for so long harping on an outdated message and I held its popularity in the primary contest you short lived because I don't want to see the socialists on the president to take it under any circumstances but even winning the nomination incompetent president trump one and a quarter we disagree I already voted for burning in the open Virginia primary because I have excuse absentee and I did that because I do want socialism on the ballot because they do want to repudiate it might theory Mike Gallagher is either beating up part right now or if he wins in four years will be such a disaster it will be repudiated forever but the socials been trying for a hundred years and Eugene Debs to get on the ballot given the time at bat and let em strike out well being from account and I will clean it with a history of the socialist movement and I understand the idea of giving the American people a stark choice like that but be careful what you wish for in some of the trends that we're seeing among millennials younger voters are really troubling and I think if we come upon all those in elected office on the Republican side of the aisle to think about how we can counter those trans how can have a better message of how we can explain the evils of socialism and communism I just can also cannot under state the state in terms of foreign policy we have made enormous progress in the last three years under president trump with Napster divider Robert obrien now in that position with Matt ponder his deputy in re orienting all of US foreign policy to compete and win against China in restoring credible American deterrence after eight years of it collapsing under president Obama and if we go backwards if we go back to a soft on China policy which it appears standard Bloomberg and other democratic candidates are advocating for that would be a tragedy in my opinion so the stakes are high not only economically and ideologically in terms of free market versus socialism but also for foreign policy in American I agree with that but I am not afraid of the conversation and I believe the only way to break the fever is to put it out front isolate it the virus of socialism in the person of Bernie Sanders and let's talk about a see in the squad let's talk about the craziness of my favorite economist Milton Keynes of quote a so you're calling on is done with the goodness you you you must have some interesting days in the chamber now in Wisconsin I got after particular quite you don't vote so April seventh what I've quo Bouchard next door neighbor campaign have appeal there or is the Minnesota Wisconsin divide like the Michigan Ohio divide well I can't be clubs are winning the nomination initiate the vice president I doubt you'll have much impact on the ticket I mean we've had vice presidential nominee from Wisconsin that haven't won the conference so it it is very difficult to project I do think Wisconsin being a purple state being a very common and they respond to more moderate or independent people I'd but I do think there's a weird thing going on if you dig into the data in twenty sixteen there are a lot of voters in Wisconsin who liked both Bernie and president trump but they like this sort of destructive mentality they were so stick with the status quo that they wanted someone from outside the system to shake that system up so I'm not sure I can comfortably make a prediction about what would play well must happen at this point because there is so much games left to play but I highly doubt given the energy on the other side of the aisle that someone in the more moderate lane is going to win the primary and lest we get to a brokered convention and on the second ballot the super delegates give it to someone other than Bernie by that point I'll help you to break loose I mean that will be a a very interesting moment for the Democrats will be nonsense the DOD budget first of all I blasted the budget earlier this week and then get the three fifty five the president said for budgets not one of them has gotten a plan to threaten fifty five I was told by people in the Pentagon don't blame asper don't play mode late day inherited this mess from Spencer and from the last guy in the in the ring it's not their problem I just keep coming back and they decide that the present budget this is the services budget they drive the top one on this stuff might Gallagher don't they they do and I think it's fair to say one of criticism that we cannot get the three fifty five by buying for fewer ships this year and hiding the ship building budget we also didn't have a thirty year ship building plant the minute with this budget which is required under law so there's a lot of work that needs to be done and as I said yesterday at a previous workfare doctoral coalition Congress can't want to build a fleet and modernize the fleet more than the navy and marine corps want to build and modernize its fleet we need the navy to be strongly making the K. and telling a story to us and the American people for integrated American naval power what we actually intend to do particularly in Intel pay com I convincing and simple story so that people like me who are already body in to the idea that we need a bigger navy who already advocate for C. power can can then my more skeptical colleagues and also convince the American people so when we get a budget like this I think it makes it more difficult so we have a lot of work that is left to be done I am very interested in getting a result of the integrated naval force structure except that my understanding is that they ask for is going to review the work that acting secretary moblie and others have done on that comment on you know on and I hope that a clear and simple story for what the future of American power a merges from that product that is every year we go backwards it makes it less likely that we're going to get the three fifty five and more likely that the Chinese Communist Party is gonna push us out past the first island chain and further dominating and okay I I got a great and I gotta tell ya when I see Richard Spencer who I interviewed a number of times on the show and when I was doing MSNBC former said Hey maybe leave his job and endorsed Mike Bloomberg I go to the president of the ice take why can't we find a cheerleader for the navy like the president used to say he wanted to be a cheerleader for the country what you just talked about it someone who will sell they need not make it up not exaggerated just explain it again and again and again I think mostly doing a good job of that but I don't know your get the nomination to be secretary of the current one is withdrawn I don't know that aspen really interested in the navy well I don't know about that I in a get delayed that while I am probably pay more attention they require the most members of Congress I was not involved in the discussions that had a guy and I'd love to be I I think had rightly that did you want to get Congress involved in reviewing the integrated name for structures that I hope he does because he's gonna need to get by and and I will say that I think everyone is trying to move the ball in the right direction other sectors initiative on saving and getting data from the so called for the state agency for example it's a great idea he was able to dig up over five billion dollars in stating that we can rely to benefit the end yeah so there are difficult decisions that will need to be made however foremost among them is why do we have to break the one third one third one third division between the services in order to build a bigger navy when that would create enormous attention between the services and in a related is in the Columbia class purely a navy bill or because it's performing a strategic nuclear deterrence function which benefits all the services and the entire country do we need to find it more broadly within the department of defense and bring back a Joe Cortez idea of the key dates to turn spontaneity from Columbia V. as in not just not just the Columbia class but the B. twenty one and the missile upgrade shouldn't the new budget be separate and apart so it doesn't impact the services because they took the deterrent is the deterrent and you've got to have it that that's my view and once you do that then you can really start to get creative for what that future fleet looks like right I think you'll see that I can read the tea leaves in terms of what secretary asked for an actual demo they're trying to say there's some good stuff like for example we need to expand smaller ships in the fleet we need a minimum of fifty forget probably more like fifty five we can also be created for example putting long range anti ship missile on March sixth the troll boats I would connect you to comment on the record comment at the amphibious coalition yesterday which we talked about the fact that holding L. Clapton BB ships do not make sense for every situation and we can heavily invest in intermediate range missiles and have seen small teams of marines dispersed throughout the first island chain with ground launch intermediate range missile in order to complicate the Chinese Communist Party you making cycle and there's a lot of ways we can save money get creative and do what we need to do it Intel hancom but it all starts with that direction from the top of.

S. in San Francisco I'm at Baxter this is bloom where her I Brian all right yeah yeah yeah all right let's get to our guest in re K. dheas Alvarez chief risk officer Avery technology all right in weekend let's talk a little bit about the markets you're one one school of thought developing here is that the economy has weathered a rough patch and is about ready to re accelerate obviously others would be cautious here talking about recession only a few months back it is worth noting that global equities have risen now five weeks in a row are we a little bit over bought or do you feel comfortable here I'm pretty comfortable I think that the more than what it in a rough patch one has to wonder whether the patch about rough to begin with what was thought that they need to spoke about a recession was was really not supported by the data market convincing accounts that recession probabilities have increased when they haven't the latest news that we have from the I use them in the US in a very little not this but time with him very important upward revision of those BMI's in the eurozone that were causing so much concern I think that's that's was fueled the last week rally and within that is perfectly justified all right will give the thing we have to ask ourselves is what is actually being priced in what is in your view we think that even in the U. S. have we think that the what's being placed in a cell it's a little bit too pessimistic I mean that that market is still are a one to one and a half cut below what the the dots blood or the field research says that rates are going to go over the next few quarters the eurozone the market is still predicting negative forty the more negative than now great all the way to two thousand twenty one so we still think that even after the last couple weeks correction of those expectations there still somewhat on the verified at least that that's what that's what they look like if you look at the short term great market now the Yemeni market has to have a different view some might see a rising rate so we do have the ten year yield up to one ninety four but the fed did make it sort of clear and I wonder whether not you think that this is a a tail wind that the fed is on hold until inflation rises not really if markets get a little bit frisky yes I think that that the defect is clearly on hold of both on the on a downward direction on up what direction to the threshold of off news that you need to change to to get another move integrated if because it's quite high but even with the rates here at at my expectations of the future evolution of the US economy normalized you could probably see the ten year yield go high getting to the two two and a quarter territory so I I don't think that's not compatible with that policy which we foresee for next year okay we will continue in a moment in rickety as Alvarez's the chief risk officer at Hebrew technology if you're.

"Best of the Larry o'connor show today it was named by the president of states a brand new national security adviser one Robert C. o'brien who up until now has been working for the administration and the state department NPR's Mary Louise Kelley she of all things considered it she's the former national security correspondent and now a host of NPR's All Things Considered she tweeted out over heard in the N. P. R. news room who the F. is Robert C. o'brien. I responded funny I knew who he was maybe you need a more diverse newsroom. well who is Robert C. o'brien. well really the most important claim to fame is that Brad Thor's latest thriller backlash which is now available was dedicated to him Brad Thor number one New York times bestselling author joins us now you know Robert C. o'brien don't your brat I'd know Robert for thirty years if he is not only a world class intellect one of the smartest man one of smart human beings I've ever met but he's also one of the most humble he is incredibly well schooled when it comes to international affairs foreign policy national security issues I don't think the president could have made a better head off of his short list and Robert for national security adviser he has been an adviser to many senators and presidential candidates over its history has any impact if I remember right was he not one of Ted Cruz is key foreign policy advisers during the last campaign. what he helped out Walker that he helped Ted Cruz he's been of assistance to mit Romney and in fact on Robert's twenty sixteen book called while America slept restoring American leadership to world in crisis met rami actually Bullard said I wouldn't be surprised indeed I'd be relieved if Robert is the next president national security adviser wow the prophetic that is and so not only does he have a pretty great pedigree and he's been around and advised the likes of obviously president trump and Ted Cruz Scott Walker in Mitt Romney which is a very wide range of varying approaches to national security but but but I think that there's some sort of a consensus believe within the conservative world at least in Republican world that this guy is for real. what was it like I said he's been a friend of mine for thirty years we were neighbors when I was in college this guy is a rock ribbed conservative he is a good religious man a fantastic family man then again the positions you've held a meeting worked under Bolton if you well and he was a co chairman of the US department of state public private partnership for justice reform in Afghanistan he's worked on Alexian integrity around the world I can go on and on about his pedigree he really is qualified for this position home bull temperament which is something you do not see a couple with great intelligence that often with home gold temperament is going to make him in X. needing legal adviser for president trump what do you make of the way the mainstream media and critics of the administration are sort of trivializing his record and and basically boiling it down to one thing he helped free ASAP rocky this this rapper in Sweden. what what Christ could come back again and president trump could appoint him to a position of the White House in The New York Times would find a way to go after him along with all their other colleagues in the lifestream the left wing media you know and I got to spend some time this summer which have been Bassar our master Germany Rechlin now and one of the things we talked about is investor going out that Brad when I leave this position when I leave my diplomatic career he said you will see me on TV regardless of who the next president all over my lifetime be they Democrat or Republican and I will be arguing that we should be a quick thing the president with whomever he or she Republican or Democrat he is best to help one this country and this idea that we're gonna we're gonna go after people. whole you know what matters here is that president trump things that Robert C. o'brien is the best person for the job that's all that should matter effect nobody should listen to the left wing media it doesn't matter what they think all that matters what president trump six year I was doing was Brad Thor he of course the number one New York times bestselling author his latest book is backlash but Brad of course I I shouldn't say but but you can't write the kind of books you write about international intrigue and and warfare and and covert activities without having a pretty good working knowledge of how things function and that means you've got contacts all over the place including a lifelong friendship with Robert buying our new national security adviser can you give us spread kind of a little bit of insight into what his world view is like. well I'll tell you anyone who is interested in his world you should pick up while America slept the road a couple years ago it's a collection of his essays and very very interesting in this whole world view is laid out there particularly the mistakes made by the Obama administration with the on the well how we need to hold on to get my down the things that happen in the Falklands what needs to be done in Afghanistan and why the United States needs to re establish and reassured his war was already in the wild step up and leave I think his conservative view of the world what actually goes very nicely with president trump's policies that water line doesn't want us getting into wars either I know why would a blind will not help president trump what to do you will be a good adviser he will present options in the past you will rank both options for the president but at the end of the day the best service you can do for our nation and I will tell you I'm very very happy confident and secure that Roberts in the position now national security adviser the best thing you can do is present advice to president trump and allow president from to make his own decision and I think we are in for a very good. on the national security flaw with Robert at the helm used his new position and and how do you think what you know of Robert o'brien the new national security adviser how do you think I temperamentally he works with the other people who would be advising the present on these matters for instance secretary state Mike Pompeii I'll. good where relationship with secretary palm bay he speaks very highly of him and I know secretary Pompeii has repeatedly spoken very highly of Robert o'brien so you know this is not a team of rivals thing that's being set up at the White House right got somebody with incredible experience the state funded coming in now Robert is a is a person who is going to be fearless when it comes to presenting the truth but he also works very very well on a theme any respect the chain of command again president trump could not have picked a better person for this position and every American ought to feel comfortable our our national security is in very good hands you know all right if you believe the palace intrigue articles that you've been hearing that that a big a problem the John Bolton had in the White House is that he did have a rivalry with secretary state Pompeii when there was a lot of back and forth there a lot of infighting I think it is odd odd pretty informative to point out that Mister Brian the new national security adviser comes from the state department he worked for secretary of state Pompeii also he had to get the the imprimatur of there before he got the gig. absolutely and when you're welcome Robert obrien an investor record now we're both at the U. N. under under John Bolton when they were there so they have a past history with John Bolton but they also now have a present history with with Mike Pompeii which is excellent so again followed politics by Donald Trump and he's a lifelong friend but as an American as a citizen the husband father I am thrilled with this check perfectly somebody even alright drillers who's very concerned with national security I think president trump knocked it out of the park. and and by the way that's saying something because of when the president does something you don't agree with you're not shy about your opinion Brad I mean let let's face it so that that really is saying something can can we think of them I think it's important to hold our elected leaders accountable be days from our party or another party the particularly the president I think it's important I think the president get better when he has on it not a criticism only honest criticism from the people that he's working for we don't want for trump trump works for us and there's a lot of stuff you've been doing very very well and I think that deserves to be complimented I don't think we should only criticize and in which a compliment as well okay can I bring this back to your latest book it's data out there it just got. released in late June and so if if you if you miss the summer season to read a good thriller get backlash by Brad Thor it's fantastic but but not only do you dedicate this to Robert o'brien our new national security adviser but there is a character in here that sort of modeled after him. it's not giving anything away to say that scarred heart Scott hard drive your central character is finds himself in Russia alone without any communications and he has basically been kidnapped by the Russian Russian paramilitary group and you talk about this characters are you show this character's efforts to try to save this American held against his will in a foreign land that's what Robert o'brien's been doing the last two years right absolutely and the reason that you're here the left wing leading that talking about it rocky and in investor blind sitting in the courtroom in Stockholm is because they don't want to talk about the other successes the robber bride getting pastors out of Muslim lands helping without a warm you're getting him out of North Korea there are so many successes this guy is hit so many home runs with president trump but of course the left left wing media is going to pick up the S. A. P. rocky thing guess what it was also a home run yeah so they want to make it look trivial that Robert Irvine hasn't made a contribution well that weakens the nation when you want to point to a good man's efforts you know Robert o'brien left private law practice largely to common take this job to help free Americans around the world we are thankful in my family that he is on that I think every American ought to be thankful for what he's done what he's about to do I think the media should not be out there trying to hear either this guy is an incredible man this is not somebody you're gonna be able tear down in the press she is an outstanding good good American patriots and I'm thrilled that young and this new position I just want to dwell on one thing you just mentioned that you're specifically talking about Andrew Brunson the Christian pastor evangelical Presbyterian who had been imprisoned and held by the Turkish government unlawfully illegally and it was an absolute international outrage and it was through the efforts of Robert C. o'brien and the support of the trump administration that finally won the day and pre dander Bronson and brought him home and that was at a huge huge diplomatic victory considering not just the geo political forces but. the the the religious aspects to this Brad. absolutely so it's another win in the evangelical column by president trump I mean make no mistake present from Robert o'brien's and everything will walk out of line is done has been hand in glove with president trump they make an excellent team together so to elevate Robert to even more important position with president trump knows you can count on knows Brian occur.

"A good thing I don't know oh boy alright so let's turned from a local news to some national news here and we're going to go out to a writer for us for the Washington examiner to speak about the new national security adviser who happens to be a friend of mine and my husband's let's welcome to the show Kelly Jane torrents Kelly welcome and thank you so much for joining us selling thanks for having me here all right so you know this administration specially president trump loves to turn amounts and you know I think maybe Robert o'brien is probably a name that a lot of people didn't nobody was a special envoy for it the president did hostage hostage negotiations and other things for info for past administrations as well now I think a lot of people are gonna know was name I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but what do you know about him what do you think of this appointment and and how do you think he's going to do. well I'm a little nervous now you say you're looking. it's okay please be honest here. disclosure by the way I used to work at the weekly standard magazine and I edited humble there so okay yeah the guy that broke up with open replaces Bob o'brien so you don't want to. disclosure. yeah someone Goldman Robert or Brian actually very close. lady don't don't actually learn Robert Bryce book which was released a couple years ago and he actually talked about you know how great Robert obrien is in return the favor you know it Robert appointed she didn't interview with you at are on the radio in March two thousand eighteen Dr jungle we got the job and said that. the quote the person if you're the protein and state what are your change workers. the best lawyer in the house the best foreign policy professional in the house is John Paul. you can bring a level of seriousness experienced depth of knowledge but also hard nose top negotiation skills and you know again he he said that John Paul was the best lawyer in foreign policy here in America either party. so you know he's a fan of John I think that's interesting just you know right that the president had a contentious relationship apparently with John Bolton so. basically Robert what is not going to be very different from John both in terms of policy he has a very similar views as struggled on the lawn. and on Russia and so you know if one of the reasons that from fireball or signs as he says with some other differences I don't know what's going on with Robert o'brien but the big difference because they have different personalities I'll say that and and I think he is going to be a lot more he is going to be a more pleasing to the present and that I think John Bolton was because I think that to Dumbleton anything president trump or to a like and came out each other and just for a very strong headed with each other that's just my opinion really thank you you read my mind say the biggest difference between the two is personality if you make a very good point noting that phone call to Donald Trump have similar personalities out there both men who are very confident in what they believe in a more confident in their knowledge and they also like to be the center of attention and so I actually took over o'brien's backtracked people who passed in one of them actually told me he would be inside. now anyone though exactly and it's it's kind of funny though because you know I'm obviously reading about what people thought of of this taken this decision and that you know somebody said that they sought. that point with a little heat choice for the job and I've been in was happy to have someone out the television star power I'm John Bolton well what that. on both because he liked him on television and that's actually the case with a lot of people that trump has brought into the administration. like their strong. we're gonna be very strong being on TV and and you know talking about how great his administration tell you do. I'm sorry your here I I've just wanted to ask you what you need to do to get your comments on that kind of the revolving door as it were of the trump administration I know every time there's an and a and a new package an announcement of a new administrative member you know people specially on the left will be like see this is this is a sign that the trump administration is in chaos that that they don't really have a plan that they don't really know what to do going forward what's your opinion on that. yeah. to that end I think that. the idea that they don't have a plan they don't have it's really that comes from the top Donald Trump is someone who. you talk to will say one thing and then a few days later will say something different you know like for example with a long recently. Donald Trump said he's willing to meet with the president of along with no preconditions but a few days later he tweeted that the fake news media were saying that he's going to be with someone with no preconditions you call that a fake story well yes. and secretary mission and Senate secretary pump Caleb's at that you know he wacko you know strict policy that comes from the top and so yeah I mean it though it's almost surprising how many establishment Republicans and John Bolton and Robert o'brien certainly fall into that category I've been in the trump administration no one trump was the nominee there were a lot of what he was trying to become the nominee and when he became the nominee there were a lot of Republicans especially in the foreign policy field who write letters saying I don't think this man should be commander in chief I don't think this guy should be in charge of our foreign policy and so a lot of this wonderful who's convenience administration if you will. and after he won we were wondering who's he going to choose because a lot of establishment Republicans had actually said they don't like trump well. a lot of people and some of them were people that actually been critical of the house. channel in Venezuela you've been very critical of the president you know the president realized this guy knows the stock. I should have it in my administration and you know John Bolton water Brian there actually have been a little critical of trump well not going back Robert obrien actually happened yes he will call on during the election not a primary recommending that Ted Cruz hit trump for being too chummy with of what the people were I mean don't you think Kelley and Leon pulls is well that there were a lot of people who were resistant to trump and didn't care for him inside the administration and out I would include myself I mean I was a Ted Cruz gal in the old one you know truck got the nomination I was like what are we doing this is insane I think there are a lot of people like look at Mitch McConnell look at you know there are a lot of people who thought he was one way and then he really has come in and changed not everything but a lot about the culture of politics in Capitol Hill so don't you think that that's not that odd that there are a lot of people who thought of him as this figure had thought of him as one way and then got to know him and judge him based on what they knew about him rather than what they thought about him. well that's a great point and you don't have to say I know a lot of never come first and some of them that hate everything about the man. thank you I'll be honest I was not a big fan of his primary I I was not excited about his election but you know I'm a journalist money he was that I need to call call districts and I have to look at the policy is is the policies of the bad policy the fact that it's Donald Trump policy doesn't matter to me I have to look at the policy itself and its people left and the right you Dave who just love or hate something because it's Donald Trump black look at the policy I don't say especially on foreign policy I think that Donald Trump has had a lot of wins withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal I I write a lot about Iran we have a lot of contact from Iran I you know interviewed people many people who have been tortured under this regime under previous regimes they were all asleep happy that Donald Trump withdrew from the Iran deal yeah that's a shake up an even. in two were against the deal when Obama was writing it once I got kind of like when we got to stick with him going to do it well don't you know don't hate Obama signed if you didn't get the Senate to approve it as a treaty I was trolling and you know Washington how to cut you know all of the beat the clock the country house but it was a great decision so yeah you know it's it's it's next but you're right he's he's shaking things up and that's exactly why a lot of people voted. do you think with the pick of Robert or Brian I'm taking over for bold and even if they have sort of the same views but a different personality that o'brien might be able to do some of the things that the hero everybody knew jumbled as being hawkish and very you know we know exactly who our enemies are we need to be tough on them and by and blah blah blah if a Brian has the same views but he is more likable to the president do you think that he might be able to persuade because I think that's what it's gonna take persuade the president to maybe be I'm take a harder line on some of the you know foreign policy things that we need to do when it comes Reno regarding. Sir are and you know people that we know are our enemies. that is a great question if you're right it's it's the job of persuasion and I you know I know some bold use of smart guy he really knows the stock. I will gladly and I faxed you know you. maybe did not persuade so much as well so that's a great question and you're right they have similar because you can do a better job I mean. thanks for hearing is that offering is a much better relationship with Mike Pompeii L. basically I think John golden Mike Pompeii or competitors they actually started out having very similar a lot of things but my comp hero has changed a little bit he's he barks to the president so you might disagree with something but if the president says this is what we're doing immediately she. I think that's what happens when you are a military man you do what you do and chain of command what do you like it or not if it comes from the top you still have to execute what the top says because that that's where you fall in the line of the chain you know so that's probably what he's doing Mike Pompeii within the military..

"Ask you verbally brawls for five hours with dams and they do not let a single blow this is the most predictable outcome since the patriots lined up against the dolphins this past Sunday the left allies conclude the even that Nadler's impeachment warriors are an embarrassment with the right now a person was in the light of the fire really for the last three for years Sarah Huckabee Sanders there when you watch Corey take the incoming from that committee are you surprised by the results you know what he's like not at all and I thought Cory did a great job pushing back against the absurd circus that we saw from the Democrats yesterday they've gotta stop going down this path and start doing their jobs and it is getting completely out of control that they spend every waking moment you know fighting whether or not this is an impeachment process or not an impeachment process the bottom line is it's a full blown attack against the president that's all the Democrats are doing at this point and they need to start doing their jobs are listed if it was twenty seventeen they were there all report they're frustrated I could see they had a strategy let's see it was twenty nineteen now you're not happy with happen in twenty sixteen you don't get the inconclusive this about obstruction in the mall the reporter Robert Muller being confused by his own report a makes wanna go after believes that could use a little bit election know your candidates even bring this up they give a clue where we as a country they don't bring it up because they know it's a losing issue with I mean this is the definition of a group of sore losers of our kids acted this way we would tell them that you don't act that way when you lose you you know pull yourself back up and prepare for the next game and they're not doing that this isn't impeachment is not popular poll after poll after poll states that there's no support for this they've got to move on they need to start focusing on things like U. S. M. C. A.. and other things that the American taxpayers are actually paying them to do so I we we talk to chat program he's Mister everything over in the hell he believes U. S. M. C. A. has a shot at a vote Ken McCarthy told me yesterday the minority leader he's not sure what do you think I I think if it goes to a vote I think it definitely passes and I think it should it's something that would be great for American workers and if the Democrats in Congress actually cared about this country and they care about the American work force and they care about the trade battle that we've had on going then they would get together with the Republicans and they would vote for in support U. S. M. C. so you know you guys had the criminal justice reform you know what it's like to see something come from fruition on both sides I get with the kept asking to see Robert light Heiser we had the the leader the Canadian leader to come and visit the Mexican leader come and visit and post he easily could have said no I hear it's about Mexican workers rights and of the negative part would be given the present a win the president told me two weeks ago said it'll be one for both of us so if you were strategizing in you were by the president by the in the oval office. be that the country needs to so much how do you get over the goal line well I think that's exactly what the president said it is a win for everybody it's a win for Republicans is a win for Democrats most importantly it's a win for our country and I think that there are a lot of Democrats that are going to be in some tough districts and they need to be able to go back to their districts and say Hey we actually got something done here's one of the things that we were willing and able to work with the president on and they need to win too and I think politically it's good for everybody but at the end of the day it's just good to policy and it's something that we need to see happen so when you were there and this whole Russian thing was going on the mall report was was fomenting out there in these rumors running while many of which were wrong. how much of a distraction was it I'm one to ten ten being a huge instruction one being done I mean I'm in in my role it was a big distraction because questions and also much of the incoming was about that you couldn't talk about anything else everything always came back to Mahler and I think that the media has a lot of egg on their face and they're still looking to justify the two and a half years that they've wasted pushing this false narrative against the president and I think that's why they are constantly grasping at straws and some of these other ridiculous stories because they need to justify all of the attacks that they've waged against the president in because immediately after the when they said okay wouldn't wouldn't tell our delegates not to report electoral college they were going to say there's going to be re recounts certain areas then the rush investigation launched Hillary Clinton never really went away so that was never really a high five moment it is say we won the greatest upset in history what does that to say for how much twenty twenty means this president you know what he's like look I think twenty sixteen was a huge moment for the president he I think did pull off one of the greatest upsets in political history that we've ever seen I mean he was run for office one time and became president I mean that doesn't happen and for him to be able to go from there real estate and TV world to becoming president in a two year time span is incredible the only bad thing is I think it's locked a lot of the Democrats think now maybe they can do that too and so that I think that's why you have such a crowded field as they all think they could be president but I think twenty twenty is a huge stakes not just for the president but I think for the country we have to make a determination are we going to be pulled very far to the left or are we gonna continue on the path of success and prosperity that the president's put us on over the last couple of years so a lot of people have speculated for him inside the White House CC Mercedes slap in the know how the press respected her as she also knew that that she knew how to work with the president they say Sarah Huckabee Sanders knew we. exactly how to work with the present you guys are tied what hope picks left he saw that but you were there they say that now between jumbled leaving Mercedes leaving in you leaving the presidency it is without a confidante how do you feel is that a correct assessment it is a we we've is somebody else to emerge right not at all I think the president's got a great team around him he's got several members of his cabinet that are very close to home I think the vice president is a great confidante for the president as well several members of the senior staff weathered stance could be you know or Steven Miller who have been with the president since early in the campaign days secretary Pompeii secretary pollution these are people the president has great relationships with works very well with has good chemistry with and I think the team that he's put around him particularly on the national security front secretary esper I think his new national security adviser that he announced this morning that that group works very well together I think you're gonna see good things come from the the team around that is Robert Turner right row Robert obrien property right excuse my full Robert o'brien and you believe this is a move that that can you dis to see this bit being successful he did a lot of the hostage negotiation they did revealed a lot of success he has been the the lead point person for the president on that front I believe I'd maybe twenty two different hostages of come home as a result of the president and Robert o'brien's leadership and work together to to bring those folks home and so I think that he's developed a lot of trust from the president and with the president throughout that process and I think he'll do a good job in that role I know it's early but what do you like better working for the White House with fox. you know they're very different I love it I absolutely loved my job at the White House but working for fox is a little easier so I'm not I'm not unhappy at all where I am but I I couldn't be more grateful for the experience I had at the White House I learned a lot Hey you come down yet I'm starting to get there you know I still have three kids so I don't think there's ever anything really calm going on in the house and you're working on a book he just told me to yeah it is a hard you have to run so we're gonna take her time out one eight six six four oh eight seven.

"Day you with out any due process we can argue with proper and illegal detention and it was providing a punishment for promoting punishment before the crime on through the break Alan Jackson what is the petition the justice for rocky rocky change dot org and they're more than a half million people sign this big story Allen who attacked them do you have the identity of who attacked him we believe that the Swedish government the Swedish authorities have the identity I do not have the idea that it happened to me broadly there's two individuals to mail that were in Stockholm what they're what they're residency status is I don't know have they been arrested they have not been taken into custody and that's another problem that we have him certainly did did swear out out of the police report based on what I describe a little bit earlier about the assault on him and the others but they have yet to be taken into custody from my understanding I'm not on the ground in Stockholm so with this long it had been changed in the last twenty four hours or so they've not been taken into custody now when I when I saw the headline state department is involved president trump usually takes the imprisonment of Americans wrongly held very seriously issue involved my understanding is well I'll echo what you said president trump and his administration is in bringing how may bring home and justly hailed mereka a top priority for his administration throughout sure sure and that obviously gives us a lot of hope for rocky situation I do know that sector state from pale and the the CBI house special presidential envoy for hostages fares and doctor Robert obrien have both been briefed on the on the issue they're both made aware of it I don't know if president trump specifically has been briefed on the issue of my hope is that he has my hope is that he if you haven't he is soon you know we're looking for state department involvement we think that at the highest levels of people need to be asking the question what's going on in Sweden against you it's not just about a sap rocky this is about all Americans dinner traveling to Europe traveling to Sweden specifically this could happen to any of any other cancer right all all all all right now I'll be right back to play for you at the end of that I just watched a video myself video so there's an all there there is a long running these two kids they might be twenty twenty one just keep following rockcase appanage little ten they call me big big bodyguard and his two other performers and they just harassment around been around some and they finally provoked a fight that they wanted I cannot believe this the Swedish government as a sap rock in jail and bodies are more coming up after the break right now temporarily factor that calm if you're watching on it we should get the states have rocky give them some military support for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains can you believe Sweden doesn't have bail and that someone is in jail for for ten days for a street fight that they did not provoke I can believe that really factor that come works who they use it every single day and I encourage you to do it I said I'm a little bit proud this weekend I was out did eight miles on Saturday mandate mile long time get mine my mileage back up because it's well there is no better place in America than the California beach on a Saturday morning I would encourage you whatever you've given up doing because it hurt too much your knees parked at your ankles hurt your shoulders rebelled you can try really factor that calm for nineteen dollars and ninety.

"Welcome back America to music of a sap rocking of course not my normal bond music that he's being held by Swedish authorities in Stockholm and has been in jail since July second originally in horrible condition even moved to better sell body then a bail in Sweden into the United States department stated getting involved his lawyer is an old friend of mine Alan Jackson one of the preeminent defense lawyers in the city of angels on the west coast is getting up early to tell me this morning a little bit about this case was broken to politico yesterday afternoon Allen who attacked them do you have the identities of who attacked him we believe that the Swedish government the Swedish authorities have you are going to be I do not have the idea that it happened to me probably there's two individuals to mail that were in Stockholm what they're what they're residency status is I don't know I have been arrested they have not been taken into custody and that's another problem that we have him certainly did did swear out out of the police report based on what I describe a little bit earlier about the assault on him and the others but they have yet to be taken into custody from my understanding not on the ground in Stockholm so with this one that hasn't changed in the last twenty four hours or so they've not been taken in the past now when I when I saw the headline state department is involved president trump usually takes the imprisonment of Americans wrongly held very seriously is here and all my understanding is well I'll echo what you said president trump and his administration is in bringing how may bring home and justly hailed mereka a top priority for his ministrations throughout stray shin and that obviously gives us a lot of hope for rocky situation I do know that sector state Ontario and the the CBI HA a special presidential envoy for hostages fares and doctor Robert obrien have both been briefed on the on the issue they're both made aware of that I don't know if president trump specifically has been briefed on the issue of my hope is that he has my hope is that he if you haven't he is soon you know we're looking for state department involvement we think that at the highest levels of people need to be asking the question what's going on in Sweden and and she was not just about a sap rocky this is about all Americans dinner traveling to Europe traveling to Sweden specifically this could happen to any of any other cancer right all all all of the day the tour dates and all the economic loss and all the people who work form and all the people are gonna go and that's all been canceled because the Swedes put in jail over street fight that he did not provoke not only has has certain invents been canceled but finally the entire summer tour multi million dollar summer tour when I say multi million dollar I'm not talking about for example he I'm talking a multi million dollars worth of jobs for American citizens in European citizens that were walking you know hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people could be concerts together and provide the infrastructure all of that exasperated because two Swedish pulse follow them and they've got video this and Anna Radisson assaulted them and then finally accept rocky and his colleagues fought back defendant self that's exactly right and the video evidence and witness statements all clearly established that that's exactly what rocky and his friends were doing they were acting in self defense they had a reasonable apprehension of harm there is self defense in Sweden there is the sense of others in Sweden difference others in Sweden obviously they were acting within the bounds of the law and by the way you let me make clear that a rocky is not looking for a free ride any in any way shape form or fashion he's eager to stand trial if in fact they decide to take it to trial you will obviously defensive main leader to clear his name sorry for lease he would come back to Sweden trial they no question no question he's looking he's eager to clear his name and if he could and will would be and it's a clear case of self defense the problem is he being punished and has been punished in the collateral consequences of his punishment are far reaching up before any finding of wrongdoing we find out who attacked him I mean that is the key number one thing it is who attacked him and why and what with the way these guys trying to go viral you know that that sometimes the case it happens to public figures that that losers follow them and trying to gauge them in in confrontation to go viral do you suspect that's what was going on here it it it very well could have been obviously a sap rocky is a worldwide phenomenon music in the fashion industry it very well could have been that they wanted to make a name for themselves they were looking to go viral the lady I I I don't know why they focused and targeted there a sale on on on a faith and his friends but there's no question I think this was government better wake up this is not great advertise I like old town stock all my like the retail district that's right they would have been there before but this is there's a big telegram Americans about Europeans right now I think we've come it's not covering himself in glory Alan Jackson thank you all check in with you later in the week if you're not in Sweden or maybe a doctor and three million you're in the middle of.
