"It's bravely concerning to me the things that have occurred there over the last 20 years. Also yesterday I reported shouting match took place between the two most high profile owners Robert Kraft and Jerry Jones. John stash hour Bloomberg sports. Oh goodness. Thank you, John. 6 37 on Wall Street, time to take a look at stocks. Some of the names moving in the pre market Bloomberg radio and TV markets correspondent pretty Gupta is here with the reason why Netflix investors are shouting for joy. Oh, absolutely. And LX, what a turnaround story, at least for this stock. Shares are up almost 14% in the pre market. Get this Nathan. It could be its biggest jump if it holds since January of 2021. That is enormous. Back when subscriber growth was like the usual deal for them. Yeah, what it was normal for Netflix to have another beat. It's kind of what Amazon kind of came out every quarter quarter after quarter, having a pretty the problem with getting a pluses every quarter is that eventually that has to slow down. You can't continue it. Exactly. So nevertheless, Netflix looking like it has perhaps lowered its expectations a little bit and then beat them, which is really boosting the shares this morning. Like I said, up 14% in the pre market. And they beat their estimates for paid subscribers. They're saying that maybe the slowdown is likely over, but it's not just Netflix. Take a look at Disney as well. DIS is your ticker following in suit up 2.8%. A lot of the streamers are okay for Roku, those shares are also up to the tune of 3.7% this morning. You've got to look at Warner Brothers discoveries while WBD up almost 2%. So I'll give you one more Nathan because there's such a plethora of streaming companies out here. FuboTV FU BO, the streaming company for sports, also up for about 3% this morning. Yeah, all in tandem with Netflix. And I see we have some positive news in the chip sector for a change as well. We absolutely do Liam research is the one I want to kind of use as our poster child for this. So basically overnight, ASML, which is a Dutch semis equipment maker, came out and said that their sales are going to be better than expected in the fourth quarter. They're saying that's going to be driven by this kind of push for advanced trip making machines now. Nathan, I like to think about chips. I think of kind of big tech as your layer number one chips kind of magnify the move in big tech. So your companies like micron Intel Nvidia, et cetera and then there's like another layer and that other layer is chip making equipment companies. Think of it like the deer for chips, essentially. And that's where lamb research comes in handy ASML as well. So lamb research taking its cue from the Dutch equipment maker and saying, well, maybe it will work for us too. LRC X is your ticker up 3.4% this morning. Applied Materials not far behind a.m. 18 is the ticker there up about 2.4% in the pre market and of course KLA is the one you keep want to keep an eye on. Their ticker is interesting because it's actually KL AC, those shares are up about 3% as well. If you're on the last coast, you might think that's a radio station, but we'll leave that for another time. Bloomberg radio TV markets correspondent pretty Gupta, thanks as always for keeping an eye on what's happening in the pre market. Stocks as a whole, given back some of the gains now. We have S&P futures back to little changed up three points Dow futures up one point and NASDAQ futures kind of holding on a bit up to 23 points for a gain of two tenths percent. Ten year treasuries down 1430 seconds yield 4.06%, nymex crude on the rise up one and a half percent 84

"I know my guy, Greg, straight back from Florida, the sun, the warm weather, maybe he got a little bit of a tan. I don't know. But of course, there was a lot said Greg down south. Thanks to Robert Kraft. Thanks to Bill Belichick. Let's start with the owner. Your reaction to crafts comments talking about no playoff wins in three years, setting some expectations for this team. What did you think the owner was trying to do with his comments? Yeah, it was definitely interesting, Nick. And I'll just start off by saying that Robert Kraft's on the record comments were not the only sort of information that we gleaned about the Patriots and sort of how they feel about how the ownership feels about it or the organization feels about where the team is right now. So I just want to sort of say that at the outset because I may say some things may allude to some things that people are like, well, Robert didn't say that or what have you. What people need to understand is that, look, this is the first league meeting and really like two or three years. And, you know, these league meetings are good because you get face to face with the power brokers around the league that many of us have known, you know, I've been covering the league for two decades. So there's a lot of people inside and outside the organization that I've known for a very long time that I haven't really seen face to face so it's been it's been harder to get information that we normally would have had before. I feel much better about that the information gaps are sort of filled now on what I know about the team or how the league perceives the team. So I just wanted to say that up front. I thought in terms of Roberts, comments, I was definitely surprised.

"But to this point, it does feel like they've moved backwards not forwards. Yeah, I think the biggest concern that I have along, I agree with you a 100% with the Shaq mason trade is that this isn't just about top of the market guys like Allen Robinson, right? I reported just a few minutes ago that the Patriots had some legitimate interest in Alan Robinson, but as soon as they heard the money, they bowed out. And others have reported that Brennan Scarlett was a target for the Patriots from the dolphins. He ends up going back to Miami on a one year deal for low money because the Patriots were the other team involved, but didn't want to pay him more than the dolphins were offering him. Ted Keras, one of their own, right? He gets more money from Cincinnati. They won't match it. They were never at all, you know, involved in JC Jackson, really. They never really made a concerted effort or a legitimate offer that JC was actually going to take that to bring him back here. So this is top of the market guys like JC and Alan Robinson that they're low balling or not interested in because at their price point, it's mid tier guys. They were interested in jakeem grant. They pivoted to time Montgomery because he's the cheaper option. Even guys like Brennan Scarlett who I think we're gonna find out here got 6 million bucks to go back to the Miami Dolphins, the Patriots too expensive for us, right? So everybody right now at every tier for New England is too expensive. And I personally don't think that fans should take that. I'm not saying that we have to freak out and scream and yell and panic two days into free agency. But the fact that this team that Forbes just evaluated at $5 billion is trying to use money as an excuse for why they are not making their roster better is a shame. It's a shame. I shouldn't even say a shame. It's a sham, right? Because that's truly not what's happening here. The Patriots have the ability, they have the flexibility to move cap around and to make it happen if they want to make it happen when it comes to signing guys. They don't want to make it happen. They don't want to pay the money. And to me, that is more of a disservice to the fan base than anything else that they could possibly do because that means that they are not investing into the product on the field. Sure, you can go ahead and rebuild your lighthouse, right? And you can put your new stadium half a stadium up there, Robert Kraft, but you're not actually going to go out and make the money, put money on the field in the on field product. That to me is a complete disservice to the fans. Again, there's a long way to go. I don't entirely, they can be flexible. So this to me is why it's different. They're generally flexible with cap when they need to be, right? They may not go ahead and open up $60 million to sign the top receiver and top pass rusher on the market, but they generally do have some level of flexibility, I don't think they've exercised one of those opportunities this year. In terms of player retention, they traded Shaq mason. That was their move to free up cap. They haven't done it in terms of restructures..

"You like how Belichick has handled it? Does it make sense to you? The way? He has handled it up to this point a little bit. I'm still a little bit disappointed in that dead. Look, I understand the constraints of the rules but Do we really need to Stadium jog throughs in the first, you know, twelve days of Camp. There's not another alternative. I mean, I don't know. Is this Robert Kraft trying to tell Bill like look with the pandemic and we don't know, we don't know what's going to happen with the Delta variant. Hey, can we get some outdoor stuff that fans can go to and get in the Patriot Place? And I don't know what's the second one was weird. This the last night was weird that were back in again this time for a for a free practised, they had half the lower two and half the lower bowl sectioned-off. I would say of that lower bowl only it was only half-full. I mean if this was Tom Brady conducting a choice would have been you know people all over the place. Not that that matters to me or anything but Look, we understand the constraints with. All right, we couldn't be in pad so, well, the only constraints that I see in the CBA from there, on out is you can't do pads for three consecutive days off. I don't think the Patriots have have threatened going three consecutive days and pads in like five years. So, I'm not all that worried about that. But like, let's get going like once you get a chance like, get him and Pad, let's go. I just wish they'd press the envelope, a little bit more in terms of the contact and, and ramping things up. And, and again, like I said, the second page Stadium practice. I don't know what the point is. They have today off, then the preseason game, which is at night. Why you couldn't practice and pads again on Tuesday? Instead of in the stadium, you couldn't prep pads and hit each other and then take today off. And then you have the game on on Thursday night, I just wish they'd press the issue a little bit more. What's interesting to me is how our head coach is across the league. To handle the preseason and I think you can also put Camp into that as well. Last year, you didn't have much of camp at all. Yet about ten practices, you had no joint practices, you obviously had no pre-season. I don't think the product suffered as bad as I thought it was going to. And I think the product surprised some people within the game of football. And I just wonder if you know, as far as the early. It goes, if coaches are going to be a little bit lighter on the guys especially if you have, you know, veterans and and guys that have had injury histories Hunter Henry, yeah, I wonder if a lot of them is around the league that our head coach is going to say, all right, we don't necessarily have to ramp it up right from the get-go because we saw last year with just ten practices, no preseason, no joint practices box. The product was still pretty good and we still played pretty well. No, you know, maybe there's some of that as well. All right, we got to talk about the preseason opener tomorrow night. But before that, my Guy Greg dog. Has to tell me all about the Cuban rims. And here is the key. Look at that one. Mickey, I remembered to bring one with me, I.

They'll storm the capital said screaming disrupt our democracy. That's okay zero arrests. No coverage no big deal but when people did it on january six it was. What do they call it. The worst Active political civil war of eighteen. Twelve worse than nine eleven. It's comical and it's all by design. i'm not sure someone like mara gaye or or max boot knows. They're being used by the current administration. But they are they're being told. This threat is the worst thing we've ever faced. And they don't after fill in the blanks. They don't have to explain it. Just just one with its worst. Market is just. She's just elite progressive. She you know runs in the corners of the elite. She hangs out in beautiful places in manhattan so once in a while has to drive through long island where she might happen upon imprisoning or visiting where the at friend visiting in that's noble. I went mega country. Oh yes there's a riot friend. I was doing something selfless. Just so you know y- and but she's you know you have every year you have the people of amherst massachusetts trying to get rid of the flags on the down in the city streets of amherst because its imperialist in its intimidating and scary and it's hurtful this is like she's a tiny niche tiny mitch. Who only has her anecdotal experiences to talk about. What's ridiculous in stelter is scarborough just sits there and takes it and she's talking about whiteness. Whiteness meco i believe is a jamaican part jamaican part. Haitian make us as. Oh i agree with everything you said. I mean this this brainless old. White woman's they're going out this white privilege such a problem area. We gotta do about it. I watch your step down. Let someone else sit next to your hubby or get rid of him to when you want you give him the gig anyway. It's just it just madness and always wonder wheel. Everyone wonders what next. What's the next extreme thing. I mean today. You know you watch Biological boys just beat the crap out of biological girls on the playing field and track or basketball and you say how do we get to that point. You know twenty years thirty years ago. This is insane. Kids girls used to matter. Now girls are are are just collateral damage to advance this radical progressive agenda. And it's just like people Think it's a human rights for yes gender girl to beat up on girls We intend fifteen twenty years that the flag will be no different than the confederate flag. The american flag will be no different than who i mean. What's next did this pendulum. Also jerry you're right but who also who cares about the confederate flag who cares wants to do is it hurtful at all. I mean you know my ancestors were probably in the union civil war maybe they were killed by confederate. Who cares. it's just a frigging flag. It's you know it was. It was on the generally and dukes of hazzard okay converted wasn't right. It was on which one of the lincoln project guys had. A cooler was at risk. His wife with a confederate flag on it stands worse than a swastika. It just really. You're right it's a. it's a flag. It's pretty much frowned upon on polite society. It's not a threat. I just want. I'm all for listening if you say. We are under siege by white supremacists. Just tell me how. And whom. And i i'll listen. Tell me where they are. They in the hills right now loading up their muskets. And what are we doing wrong. What is this whiteness. That doing wrong. I'll be bryant staedtler. Could you tell us. "Disturbing because essentially the message was clear. Was this is my country. This is not just want definitely not gonna watch the country music awards tomorrow and then. I can confirm that right now. Of course which explanation expletives again again. This is one of the most powerful people in america. One of the most privilege she clearly. She doesn't even know what we've already gone over the fact that she struggles in math. But now we're talking. English expletive expletives when she say explicatives explicatives still biden and again in scarborough and mika brzezinski. And you know what this anything that does to hate. It's white privilege shetik. Joe joe and mika brzezinski barnacle and willie guys state white privilege. They're tired of it. They want to end up anyway by the way it. We shouldn't inexplicable against job. Rydin be welcome. He's a white guy. Married to a white woman of privilege lives in a mansion with two german shepherds. One of whom is very violent and he has a son the s Six grandkids actually seven. But one of them was with a stripper so he doesn't counter. That's what kind of guy he is. Don't count the strippers kid. Even though it's get anyway let's get back to mara. gaye She says expletives joe biden. Okay just give me example again. I'm writing in the margins on the Good good little anecdote. Tell me some examples. What does the science say. What is the bumper sticker. Say secondly does anyone believe. She saw dozens of pickup trucks. With trump flags or biden expletives. Does anyone believe that anyone show of hands. Do you believe that there are some places in the long island at our big first responder communities where you could you could see some explicatives trucks. And they could have been a gathering right. I've seen a gathering before So we go from that. It's like when my old friend that chelsea handler was up in my neighborhood main and said she was out and saw hundreds of confederate flags and i called her on. It didn't hear back but just a flat out lie of been going in that place for twenty five years and never seen one not one. There are no confederate flags where she was staying zero by the way trying to buy a house up here. Which is what you do if you thought you were. Surrounded by white supremacists klansmen. You say i wanna buy a house and live there forever. but anyway it's ally mara gays. Lying jussie handled was lying but worse than that is her reaction to see american flags america. Can you imagine. I was put it to the to the grandfather testing. Your you know your grandfather or father hearing that that people are disturbed by seeing the american flag. I mean against a couple of days after d day. She's she is one of the most privileged people in america. She's dummy and she's on the new york times editorial board. I'm going to guess making which you say. Two hundred to two hundred and fifty thousand plus more go on. Msn probably make an esp hundred and something thousand a year. And she doesn't know how to say expletives or doesn't know that michael bloomberg doesn't have enough money to give a million dollars every american. She's just not right well and also you know in in the in black history. The american flag actually plays a big role. The first black medal of honor winner was william. Carney you know the guy from boston who went it was it was saving the flag when he got shot again and again and again and again and again and didn't even let the flag touch the ground. The guy was left for dead. Essentially he was a union soldier from the civil war but he did it for the flag. You know the this euro entire monuments about the about this guy tuskegee airman. They're all patriots. Have you ever interviewed any of these guys. I did for the herald. It was a highlight of my career. There they're all patriotic. They all fly the flag to how many what percentage of this country red states or blue think. Seeing the american flag is disturbing it. I mean that is bizarre opinion to think that you're an american you got it made. Your you are living a life of privilege. Mara gaye and the american flag on long island is disturbing you. Do we have any more from the brilliant. The talented mara gaye. I own until we're ready to have that conversation. This is going to continue. What really is concerning to me as well as it's not just democrats in congress. I think there's a large percentage of americans even my colleagues in journalism who are invested in some way in pretending that this isn't the better it is that is the real concern because you know the trump voters who are not going to get on board with democracy there a minority you can marginalized them long term. But if we don't take the threat seriously that i think we're all in really bad shape noticed every says i agree with everything you said but anyway everything. She's a total right. You wanna full a push and say what threat what are you talking about. I understand why biden's doing it while he's lying to the country line to the world's biggest threat is white. Supremacist on a weekend. Where sixty three people were shot including child in chicago which is going to know that number will be close to that again next weekend where there are anti fa scum burning buildings every night destroying businesses old blocks in minneapolis. A rubble never to return our biggest threat. Is i wish. I had a name like you say david duke. But everyone knows he's a cut to has no wields. No power has no influence. I mean you're supposed to say the viking man who still jail getting is organic food earth. Carlson say his name her. You know what you're probably right. If they pinned her down said give you name. It would be cost and laura ingram. Greg gut failed and has tucker carlson based on jerry replacement theory right another nuanced pie in the sky thing. That's not tangible in an argument replacement ohio. We see now what she says. It was such confidence in this. Five people in the panel. No one calls route. Known presses are that's the media today just one big echo chamber talking about the threat the threat to threaten. You want to say what are you talking about. What is the threat. Let me know so. I can be concerned. I want to be prepared. What threat that whiteness rowlands. It'll never ever ever happen again in your lifetime. And the next you know your children's grandchild's lifetime is no group of red headed..

"That's that would make hidden spending less money than he was on the campaign brian williams and she agreed that may did the math. Every person three hundred thirty million people he could give a million dollars to. That's how dumb this person is. But she's checks all right boxes so she's one of the most powerful people in the media and this is her analogy. I don't even know what the question was colonnade. Because she just goes off on this tangent on all the troubles of the world and weighty here what really concerned her over the weekend a large percentage of the american population. I don't know how big it is. But we have tens of millions of trump voters who continue to believe that they're right citizens are under threat by simple virtue of having to share the democracy with others. I think as long as they see americanise as the same as one with whiteness. This is going to continue what we're smart guy. Can you explain that as long as they think. America is one with whiteness. Would like me. I mean obviously. This is joe scarborough. He's a moron and meek. Mika when this is over says i agree with everything you said. Can you help me. What does that mean. You see america as the same as whiteness. I manifest. i don't know that. Means the gravitate towards judeo christian values. Maybe is that what it is Nuclear families you think of america's a place where you could raise a family and you believe in the american dream based on your privilege you know so you can make it as a writer for a big paper and then get into sports. Talk radio because you were handed a bunch of privileges for this person. Who's on the editorial board. Probably make couple hundred grand to who's dumb as a rock and she is saying that if you are white like you and me be doing this little. Podcast we're privileged. She's not also saying that. Tens of millions of trump voters who are upset at the fact that they have to share certain rights with the rest of the country. I don't even know what what the hell is his if you were if you were in school nisa an oral report or written reports say okay. Right here teaches grading and she put a little land and on sale via examples examples. Yes does that manifest itself the white people who think who societas americanise with whiteness. What do you mean. And if she and you gotta write anything besides january six question mark where people are being punished like committed murder for trespassing yank. They don't feel like they've privileged or they don't feel like they're getting away with anything. Kimmy examples Well get mara gaye. You're right you would figure in any kind of real dissertation. You'd have to provide citation for what you mean. So these trump voters fields disaffected. How where's the number. How does it manifest itself exactly where justice by saying then but they don't have to justify any premise. They can just say the premise there and the justification is white supremacy right that that's as much as deep as the answer has to be in the fact that you question it just proves white supremacy and by the way this is a woman who one hundred percent supports eight seventy eight year old white guy former close friend of robert byrd. Who said if you don't vote for him you ain't black and who said that the poor kids are just as smart as white kids. Who's set him hundred. Rescues the internet right if it was the author the proud author of the mass incarceration bill in one thousand nine hundred four. That's her guy but let's hear from more. Adc from mara. How to get every american. A place at the table in this democracy but how to separate american ness america from whiteness until we can confront that and talk about that. This is really going to continue. I was on long island this weekend. Visiting a willingness dear friend and i was really disturbed. I saw you know. Dozens and dozens of pickup trucks with explicit is against on the back of them now trump lags and some cases just dozens of american flags which is.

So it makes you think he was selected at number 15. Robert Kraft is already said the way you build the team is through the draft. I'm like I'm paying all this money because of past draft mistake's You know the ideas to eventually hope that Matt Jones is your starter at some point for the next Let's say, 10 years. Cam Newton re signed for one year He's going to get another season here. Of a full offseason. No cove it he's not going to suffer from covert. Let's hope not. Let's hope that note. None of us suffer from Cove. It But we hope for a different situation is gonna be different. His second year, his second go around. What do you think we're going to see Mac Jones this year. I don't think he's starting over Cam Newton. I think the only way that's that we see Mac Jones is this Cam gets hurt, or if it's garbage time like there's no need to rush this man. Let him learn behind can Injuries. Garbage time. Complete disaster with Cam Newton. I think that's the only way that we see Mac Jones. Paul. He's calling up from Knoxville, Tennessee. Paul, You're a CBS Sports radio. What do you think? A J. R. Thank you. Take my car. Love the show. Let's do I drive home from my And I think Matt Jones will get a shot, though. As you said me the garbage time award injury to camp, You know damn well that Bella check and saving Had their little private conversation. And, you know Bella checks that hick and this kid playing the other stuff. And I'm with statements blessing. I'm sure that, uh, just get this kid is gonna make it in the NFL. As far as Della checks concerned, it just let you know I'm a how much transplant from the Akron area while And I'm a die hard brown. Stand on. Duh. That Della, Check back in the day broke my heart, You know, And, uh, I do. Give him kudos What to do with New England, but I couldn't stand the man when he was in Cleveland. I'm sure there are a lot of people who can't stand him. And you know what? I think they're a lot of fans who actually forget that he was the coach in Cleveland, and then he went on. He went on, and he had that success. Out in New England. Paul, I appreciate you for calling up from Knox. But what were you saying? Paul? I love your tie real quick. You know those big with his big downfall would have really ticked off the people in Cleveland what he made the quote that Bernie Cozaar had diminished skills. And once he said that he got rid of Bernie. Everybody turned up, so yeah, well, I'll tell you this and I don't want to say anything bad about Bernie as well. I know he's a beloved figure. And in Cleveland. I had a call or a few weeks ago. Let's just put it this way. I think he overstated. How how good Bernie Woz, So I'm not gonna I don't want to get into a fight here. What? You Paul? I don't want to end up on the Belichick side of things. I appreciate you for calling. Appreciate you for calling up from Knoxville, Paul Appreciate it, sir. Thank you. No doubt about it. Let's see how those brownies do a lot of expectations for the Browns up. I expect a lot from them. Michael's calling from Illinois. Mike you're on CBS Sports radio. Ngr. Mallory. I'm amazing. I'm Hey, Mike. I'm doing even better now.

Straight Outta Vegas with RJ Bell
Do Green Bay Packers need to recommit to Aaron Rodgers?
"Now. Some people are speculating. Maybe about this year but aaron rodgers is just being stubborn and he wants to make some more money and you might say well. Wait a minute. Rj hasn't tom brady tatis all than taking less money. Helps you win. yeah. I think so. But there's another way for the packers to gain spending power. No tom brady. Didn't care about. Robert kraft keeping the money instead of him. Not at all when he cared about was the salary cap. There's a finite amount of money you can spend and yeah you can kick the can down the road the saints showing you that but it eventually comes. Do look at big band this year and what he was due and thus the salary cap is the constraining variable. It's the thing that constrains the limiting factor. So aaron rodgers could have and the packers could have renegotiate his contract and then made it where the money that went against the cap this year got deferred some of it. But you don't get to do that for free. What happens is it takes a further commitment down the road. So you can pay aaron rodgers for two more years or three more years and if you do three you can pay them less this year at least salary cap wise. So what's the tradeoff. Want more commitment better now.

"He was supposedly in the final running in Denver and he pulled out of that race, right he pulled out he had this conversation about what Belichick that we don't know a ton about but that just kind of like to believe deductive reasoning if you're telling me that Ziegler has a pretty firm grasp on what's going on and he's more involved maybe than even consider Rio was over the past couple of if that's the case then maybe that was the carrot juice, you know, maybe Belichick said listen, I'm getting towards the end of my road and I understand that, you know, I want to bring you in more I want to involve you with with the draft more of those and and give you more power. Maybe maybe that has to do with it. Maybe it doesn't maybe it doesn't matter draft-day shows up and Belichick is the same old Belichick. We'll have to wait and see let's talk about the quarterback position because you mentioned this Robert Kraft sounded like he made some excuses for camp for sure talking about covid-19. How he wasn't surrounded with enough Talent. What do those excuses for not only Campbell? So Jarrett Stidham mean do you believe in the big picture gray? I don't Nick in my opinion. I don't think they mean much look. They they signed Cam Newton. They did enjoy the Cam Newton experience off the field last year. Jarrett Stidham is is on the roster. I think I think craft is just commenting on the quarterbacks that they have and and in all likelihood. Both of them are going to be on the roster at the end of the day and so it behooves him to speak well of them. I don't think he's going to get up there and say after they just re-signed Cam Newton to be like, you know, I can't believe they re-sign that guy. I mean look what he did last year. So I don't put a lot of stock in the words. I also don't think that craft off when it comes to the inner workings of the roster in terms of it. Maybe this might surprise people. I don't think Belichick is like discussing, you know, I don't think crafts asking like, what's the planet khong? Iraq, yeah, I just don't think it works that way in this organization bill. Just does what he does. They know it wasn't good enough last year. How much is how much is that on or off the quarterback?.

Robert Kraft Gives Honest Assessment of Patriots Drafting
"Heard from Robert Kraft yesterday was a man who was completely honest about where the the team is in a lot of different areas. I wouldn't will get into this but I don't think his quarterback comments were Something to really weigh in heavily on but I do think that overall I mean him talking about, you know, the draft specifically the personality just sound thrilled with having to Shell out as much money as he did and he basically admitted that the only reason they had to do that cuz they didn't draft well in recent years and and he committed what a lot of us have said where it's not sustainable to do that. You need the draft to be the lifeblood of your team so that you can do other things like you can't just every three years song ten free agents. It just it it's probably not going to happen be it's not economically feasible. And so I thought it was very refreshing for Robert to to talk to the assemblage yesterday and and really be honest and I think you know in judging from the comments at Boston Sports Journal com from my column off of this press conference wage. Think on a whole I thought the Patriots the Patriots fans reacted very well to it that are really like, okay. Well, at least now we know that the person in charge realizes is a isn't happy about it called last season horrible and B thinks that the team has made correction and is moving in the right direction. That's all anybody ever wanted to to hear from anybody at at one page place and they heard it from Craft and I think it made Patriot Nation breathe a little bit easier. Not that they weren't confident in Bill Belichick rebounding in any event, but I just think it reinforced that. All right. Well, we're still the Patriots thought we had a we had an off-year didn't go well we're going to correct things were going to get things back on track.

Kraft Admits Patriots Are Not Perfect
"Kraft speaking some truth Greg about the 2020 season and how the team got to this point. Yeah, I thought it was really refreshing Nick. I thought that you know, look the only person I understand how the Patriots are set up and I don't disagree with the way the Patriots are set up that page during the football season bills the one who talks for the football organization and I get it. I don't disagree with it, but it's a little bit problematic when off season is going down the tubes and you're not getting any real answers from the chief executive of the football team like this past season with Belichick. He basically deflected everything off at defensive about any questions. Look he's in charge of the team. I understand pointed comments about say there. Their inability to draft. Well the past couple of years wouldn't exactly reflect. Well on the players, he's currently trying to coach but there is a way to say what everybody wants said without saying it and Bill just decides to do things the quickest way possible the easy way possible. I understand why he does it I'm not going to I'm not criticizing him for it. But it it does cause problems when the team looks like it's floundering off where we going. What is the direction things like that? And no one's answering any questions directly and what I heard from Robert Kraft yesterday was a man who was completely honest about where the the team is in a lot of different areas.

And crown Scott Scott Scott Scott, I want to let you I want to let you make your point. Then praise your guy, Tom Brady, if you like, but you and I have already had this discussion on the air. I I believe you are factually incorrect. I think Tom Brady wanted to leave the Patriots for varying reasons. You're putting his paycheck above all others. I think you are factually incorrect it your opinions. My opinion need away. One of us know for sure on Lee Craft knows for sure. But I believe that Brady wanted to leave the Patriots. I would have paid Brady whatever he wanted to, Um, he just couldn't do that. And they is a group decided they could attempt to win without Brady. They've been proven wrong. The Patriot owners wrong. Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers Vote To End Season Following Boycott
"So. Let's go back to You know I was saying Chris that Lebron James over the course of the last twelve hours has changed his mind three times. These are difficult decisions he wanted out. He wanted to think about it and then he wanted to play and I said I appreciate. Lebron's willingness his lack of rigidity, his willingness to listen and talk, and that's one of the reasons I like Lebron is that he's a curious soul. In curious people, wear me out. Are you surprised that the players did? To play according to reports this morning. I'm not yesterday all this news was breaking and we were talking about it on our Radio Show Myself Rob Parker I felt like the most likely scenario was that they would start playing within a few days But then when the reports came out about the clippers and the Lakers, last night not wanting to resume the season s when I started thinking. Okay. This season really it truly is in jeopardy because obviously as you don has said in the meeting, you can't have the playoffs without the two best teams in the Western Conference so that got me skeptical but I figured you guys would go to sleep sleep on it and get up not quite as emotional as they were last. And you know I think what what I wanna hear is are there any I don't even know if concessions is the right word but have the what of the players talk with the owners about because remember the brand said in the meeting reportedly that he wants the owners to be held more accountable and the owners have a lot of power you know I've. Seen on social media, people criticizing the players saying, well, what what's boycotting the League going to do the League is not the one against the players I think the power is in the owners. They are very powerful people in this country very wealthy. They have connections at the highest levels of American society. They can be in touch with lawmakers yesterday think about it. The Milwaukee Bucks Basketball team was able to get the attorney general and the Lieutenant Governor or zoom. Like that that was done by the Bucks Owners would look at Robert Kraft Robert Kraft got he went to visit meek mill, the rapper and said in prison and said, he shouldn't be here two weeks later meek mill was out of prison audit charges were dropped the judge when the case had been changed the Rick Ross Jay Z. Philadelphia Eagles players Kevin. Hart, they had all been trying to get meek mill out of prison for five months. Robert Kraft missing says one statement and he's out in two weeks. That's the type of power that these owners wheeled and the players are beginning to understand that. So there are people that are talking to forget defunding police there what about abolishing some of the police unions? In, the owners could talk to talk to police commissioners achieves about and perhaps done only half police after the police belong to the Union. Anyway. But that can be a hindrance to justice. So those are the things I hope that the players will address with the owners say utilize your power or our behalf, and we'll play the game, and hopefully that's the kind of discussion. Go all throw something out at you. I heard a story this morning I thought was brilliant the Indianapolis Colts. Registered every player to vote yesterday and I thought that is that is incredibly bright. How about this owners around the NBA. You can now not only registered to vote in the arenas, but you can vote inside the arenas. If we're absolutely to me, that's an obvious one like really for the for the average guy like you and me not a billionaire for the average guy like you and me are powers in voting that's really where our power is. So make it easier to vote. So I wonder if that's been discussed the voting issue. I would imagine a has especially remember Lebron's got the voting. Initiative he put together. So I'm sure that that that's the case we saw I think in Houston, they're opening up the arenas as voting site they should all the arena should do that. Make easy on the people whose votes have business suppress historically to get out and vote, and they don't have to be there. All Day is as simple as it is for the people out in the suburbs.

NFL Will Likely Allow Players To Protest During National Anthem
"Now that the NFL has accepted? Accepted at least at the surface, how NFL players choose to protest police, brutality and racial inequality bird. You see this going essentially I. Guess the question is what's the next step to keep the momentum of this movement going while they have it well in terms of how players are GonNa? Protest protest has to be defiant in some way to be some level of disobedience associated with it and now the Dell. Dell has kinda like okay'd the action of kneeling or just protesting in general like we're getting into a tricky space it's it's then kneeling might become with like throwing your sister me. Anthem has become. It was a very. That was a very different gesture in nineteen, sixty eight. It's not so much a controversial gesture, twenty twenty, or maybe even twenty eighteen, whatever, if kneeling was controversial, Tony Sixteen but is. Generally accepted across the League twenty twenty. Then you're not really protesting. You know anymore and that's. That's important here because we still have people. Who Need to be allies and when I say people, I really do mean the owners. The owners are some of the powerful people perspective states you know like how many people can you name in Texas more powerful? Jerry Jones for a if he's on board. That gets a lot of people on board or it enough people. That are that are Jerry's fans like okay. Cool them battle-gear, but if you know how many people over there, Massachusetts, or more power more powerful than than Bob, kraft right like this. Won't we get those guys on board? Right as allies. That's when we really will get some like after like a true like seismic shift here because that's the people they know prosecutors in their local, you know. States, cities know DA's in they. They know politicians like they. They got power over their. Their voice matters what Robert Kraft says. When a Mike is far more important than some like vague statement on the Patriots Twitter Account, you know I think that's that's the next step here. Owners are owners are good at this. They don't make themselves available might just head coach swing. Put the pressure on head coaches. No, it's not just the coaches. We need to put the pressure on the owners. You guys of the white billionaires. Who Some of you even supported the president. was empowering a lot of the people that still countering backlash. Matter like it's the next step is them. It's getting them to be all in in on this. Because essentially they become recruiters at that point. Can Jerry onboard and you didn't in your in your far right and even riding with Jerry Johnson. Baby if you can, if you can't see why Jerry, Jones gets on board, then you're.
