"Gotcha while we're listening to creed. Can we finish our american league big weakness. I do like the crow back. Talk your texans. Updated the day at practice. Guess tibo signed as a tight end. No okay David kelly said to shawn watson is not injured. He did not partake in practice. It was not outside not injured which is doing stuff in the building. They are out on the field right now. He is not on the field so he's magical healed from the ankle injury but not on the hash. Blessed told you wasn't hurt big ups. We wasn't hurt in the first place. Maybe a little sore and tired and tender not hurt any tension between the years. He's not playing here again I know we wanna hold onto. And i want to be positive. Mr you know the half full glass half full just not gonna happen It's not a matter if he's plan somewhere else. It's win and all the other stuff that goes to it. If he was gonna play here he'd be practicing period. Yeah so he's not going to. And we had heard are good guy. Aaron wilson has been saying for a while the they've moved on while the door. Maybe a little bit open. He still doesn't wanna play here and that's going to be the toughest point of him not wanting to play here regardless of whether the legal is going to be difficult to but the most for him he doesn't want to play. He's not gonna play here. And with tim tebow situations we we we talked about. He's been cut by the jaguars and rightfully so. And you can't afford to lose credibility in the locker room with your teammates and what they saw on tape. It was so bad to say in here. I i'm telling you if you're sitting behind and i don't mean this mean you don't wanna do this because it's so tough to be a professional athlete in any sport in the grind. But i know how some you know some players will sit back when you know a guys probably in over his head when you watch. That tape is an offense and you're sitting behind him a few rose. It's one of those where you put your t. shirt over your mouth not to laugh about on as you look down at your notebook or something. It's uncomfortable right. Yes exactly what you do and not to be mean but that i can assure you after they saw it a few times the fellas either heads down or looking at their buddy with big is putting up like great guy not a an. He's not an nfl player but one l. of college football player and one hell of a good guy doesn't make them a bad guy just makes him the fact that the credibility and locker room had urban kept pushing this through people looked at him like come on. We're trying to get somewhere and we weren't going to get there making this decision all right to the astros and the american league guys. We've had oakland. And we gave the yankees a kind of a a weakness strength the biggest glaring on play-off teams and what could possibly sustain them. Good we've already been through the nationally. The national league and we thought that the biggest weakness in the national league for a playoff team resided with the milwaukee brewers inability to hit consistency consistently or the atlanta braves overall pitching but not far behind was the dodgers bullpen and the back in in stressful situations and their ability to with a three two lead. Feel comfortable with the dodgers with the lead with that Pitching that bullpen at the back end and then the padres who haven't got the same starting pitching that we expected when started but the ability to come out of it because with snell with darvish. They've got some guys who've been there before all right so we're the american league. We hit the yankees hit the age. Who's the the the last team in. That's not a wild card. It would be the white sox. We've hit the red sox as well. So the white sox glaring weakness that could keep them. Probably not a glaring. We agree There is there is kind of. There's health if karlsruhe don is not healthy. That's a game changer. He changes every series. Oh my gosh. With the way that he's he's a lefty that throws a hundred miles an hour and he's been incredible. This season. nasty gelato is tough. But you can get to jail. And if he's rolling well and you let him get. Bbc's ceiling get to dallas has been that in lance lynn. I'm just thinking about this from the perspective nationals crush lance lynn. Right doesn't matter and he's really he's like he's very predictable because he just he's throws fastball. But i'm not sure it's glaring. They might strike ask too much man. Str- struck out over a thousand times team this year and they've just added. They've added their big bats back. Loose robert Jimenez as a great additions big power. But they're going to swing and miss a lot and jimenez actually what he went on a quick role with the powerball right. I mean six home runs and sixteen games have been back. He's also struck out fifteen times which is no shock. Yeah offensively they're gonna be tough to get throw. But i do wonder about the bullpen. Is a lotta guys throw Gas some of those guys aren't having some of those guys aren't having spectacular seasons. I've been good seasons liam hendriks. I don't know he doesn't scare me. Okay from what was crazy. But they they don't have a hell of seattle. He's been bad of late but he would all star and yeah and and then he can go on a roll and be really good. Yeah i agree what This is why. I was going to mention where it could kind of be a weakness from what i've read it. Seems there's a little bit of a closer controversy as far as who they want to be the back end of the bullpen as became kendricks. Kimbrel 'cause kimbro given up like cranky than good bad. It's good so honestly have been awful as of late. And we saw him in the field of dreams game giving up the the four runs the yankees for them to get back in the game. Honestly i think it. I think having both in their ruins the flow maybe and but at least. It's a good problem that you think you may be able to solve right. All that gets tossed heard too because people said will the grave presley. Thank you gonna face here. Well it's work marvellously right now. So i mean both can do both. But you're right the struggle of it. I would if i was a guy lee. If that's their biggest weakness. I would assume that those two pros can fix it. Yeah so all the teams we've mentioned in so far. In my opinion the white sox have the least amount of weaknesses but not a lot of experience playing in right. Now i mean if the postseason started today they would have the weakness of. I wouldn't trust their starting pitching as much fair enough and they've got good ours but like but but jane trusted more than you trust. More than atlanta's. Yeah yeah right. We're just talking about the overall merrily combined so weakness possible not glaring one that the but they don't overly scary especially if redon's not healthy right right okay and next tuesday. Who's the sex is. Dancer being astros and then tampa right. Yeah okay so the we'll say the astros for lassus go to tampa the race. First tampa comes to the hitting. Do you realize that every hit very much every year. I say when they falling yeah they hit the ball. Over the fence they pitch. I mean that's that's their strength. Honestly they're not even that great of starting pitching team with its bullpen. And the glass now situation. Obviously in timmy. You can't count him for anything. That's exactly right But they would've loved a ham there. Okay it in the rotation. They're just they're great in their bullpen. Their bullpen they can just out bullpen. Everybody and that'll be that will trade it away from the penetrate away from the rotation because they had a surplus right to go get got power bat right. Yeah and they've gotten better off but they're still not they're still not great offense. Most of their numbers are they. Don't get on base a lot. They strike out a lot to do with the ball over the fence. But they're not gonna go away because of the pit that bullpen. You're talking about in there. They're just one of those teams biggest.

"We played it for you. You heard it. Willson Contreras is very pointed comments after the Cubs lost on Saturday evening to their arch rivals, the ST Louis Cardinals. And are you going to tell me that yesterday morning? So I wake up. I had a game at 11 45, and then we get the 9 25 weather update. Your game has been rained out. Shortly thereafter, the Cubs announced. Their game is postponed. It did not pour all afternoon. Did it rain by you Drizzle all day, but not but it's completely playable out south as I was in the south suburbs in the city over the weekend. Very light rain. They had a chance to get that game in. I think they woke up on Sunday. We are going to get our ass kicked today again and we are out of here and the Cardinals are banged up. Molina's foot's bothering him. Wilson got hit in the head on Friday. They had all that drama on Saturday. Done. So that be so Sunday night Baseball became the draft. Exactly Okay. Yeah, Much better TV. I guess much better. Just just That's not how you want, but it's so typical of the Cubs, though. This is the way the season's gone, right. You just want to play it out. Hammer. The Cardinals have someone now we're just gonna just We're just gonna wash our hands of this and start your vacations started. How did you call it? Cancun 123 King coup. That's it. Yeah, that's like that, because that's all they care about. Is this, like, Okay, We don't care about this game. Just put your hand. All right, let's go. All right, Coach, Go. 123. Cancun. That's what the Cubs did. They've been doing that a lot this year. By the way, guys, you can get actually earlier flights and get there on Sunday evening. Tune out all the noise. Toto won't bother you for until Friday. I know that we're not supposed to talk about the tenured professor. That is David Ross because he's great because he's you know, he's a guy that was a catalyst for the 16 championship team. But what do you think about his first half? Does he? Does he have any letter grade for you? Just based on this roster. Yeah. F. No, I wouldn't give him a D. I probably would give him a C. They got off to a okay start. When you in totality up till May they hit a harder schedule they had injuries. But I don't care who you lost because the White Sox lost Robert Jimenez Grandal Moncada is dealt with injuries. Uh, Kolpak was done. They just keep losing guys, and they just keep finding a way to win Boyhood. He signed me up for Professor caps class over here because he is an easy greater What I tell you what you talk about Grading on the curve, Okay, I'll give him a C minus. I mean, They were in first place You show up in. You don't have to do any work. And you know you're getting two C minus. It's amazing, Jim. Low fever and Tom trouble, horror listening and they're thinking, man. You wore our ass out for years. Where is our C minus? They never got a chance for the C minus. Well, their teams were just God awful. This team is at first three weeks ago, the fevers team was not got awful. Don't do that. Now. Don't his last year, he went 84 78 good and they fired him. I don't don't do that now. You once said about trouble. Horn meeting the guys over at the firehouse. That's fine. Yeah, that was a joke, But I mean, But listen, Where's where their C minus is? Where is their C? Plus is I I I just believe that anything else if you lose if you underachieve, you underachieve as a team. There's not Ross over here. The players over here jet over here Everybody loses. Everybody remember David Ross is supposed to be here to be able make a difference because the Madden experiment wore out. Enough of the championship manager. Too much Grab ass too much dressing up on the plane. It's time for a new voice. How's that new voice working the new voice of the Cubs as Willson Contreras? That too. It is it is. He's telling you the truth. And then you have Ross because, Rosten said, Now Contreras is in the wrong Come on, man. I knew this all along. When? When Ross was hired, I said, You know what? David Ross is a transition to a better manager. That's what I thought he he leaves the gate leaves. The game works for ESPN comes back because he knows a lot of these players and this team has not responded to him either because they built him a team that wasn't designed to win. David Going to pay you well. You are going to have to deal with a whole bunch of you know what? Because that team is built to fail. I said that to you two months ago. That team was built to fail. So when everyone was screaming, and I said, Okay, let's let this play out. And if you're still in first place in the middle of July, go trade for Max Shires or Jose Barrios or whatever pitchers going to get moved. Let it play out. Well, we let it play out. They lost 11 consecutive games. That's unconscionable with that talent to the leader of the 16 team. He can't even get to those guys. Does that say that? They need an enema. I agree. Now you want him to oversee this process? Yeah. I don't have a problem with him overseeing it. May I think David is a smart guy. I think he knows I'm running out Jake Carey after he's done. Trevor Williams to lead got appendicitis. He ain't very good. Alec Mills as pedestrian as they come long Reliever Al's ally, I think has a chance to be a good pitcher, but he's not there yet, and I got one good guy, Kyle Hendricks. That's it. Come on, man. That team was built to fail. That's just a fact. Okay, well, just just understand, like I would have done that to one of my guys. David Ross. It was asked to manage this ball club and make a difference, and we haven't seen it. Look, you can't get through all the ballplayers. You can't get through all the bad pitching. But what about the offense? How many? How many hitting coach? Is he going to fire? And when can Ross be able to influence raw, you know, like guys like Bryant and Rizzo to change. You see any difference in how the bias from a couple years ago to now? Still swing out of his ass. Agreed. Still you given that 200 million? I'm not are the White Sox this good because of T L R. Devastated by injury. They got the best record in the American League, the third best record in all of baseball. And if they make a couple astute editions They might wake up. In November with World Series hardware. 3123323776 very back..

"Rogers covers baseball for espn. And jesse. know a lot of the time you've covered baseball you covered the chicago cubs. And i think everyone wants to know. Is the white flag the for sale sign up and over wrigley field at this point given the where they stand in. Santa the answer is yes after eleven straight losses in a row. You can't be surprised to hear that buster right. I think they kinda played over the skis little bit and may they went nine thousand nine hundred eight eleven over ironically the and then they gave it all back these last eleven days finally winning a game last night but the for sale sign was always going to be there. I think they just delayed it a little bit with the way they were playing and if they repeated their may in june maybe this would have been a special season but the odds of that were very slim. They just don't have the starting rotation to go the distance so yes. I think it's been sort of an easy decision. Now for jed hoyer he was going to be faced with a very tough one if they continue to be around first place or few games out now he has an easier decision and it is going to be to sell as soon as this draft is over. They're going to go deep into. Who wants craig kimbrel. Who wants kris bryant. Who wants a few of these other pieces. Andrew shaven great left handed pitcher having a great year. He'll be wanted out in the open market. Hopefully they can bring back some prospects. And i think there's gonna be volume of bidders for kimbrel. Maybe i in my mind. He's going to be the most coveted asset player on the trade market This summer because every team every contender. Can you always use another reliever. you know. it's a little bit more complicated in. I wanted to get your perspective on this issue. No kimbrel with a lot of these relievers in the question of whether or not there are closer is not really a factor you know because teams move around relievers all the time. It does seem like that it seemed acquiring. Kimbrel will have to keep that in mind so if the boston red sox have not aren't been so great. This season is closer. If you're alex forty probably would And they were to acquire. You'd have to navigate around that question because it seems like kimbrel kinda made it clear. He wants to be closer and he probably deserves to be human he. He's been the best reliever in the game. Basically barring on him for my money from from those the stuff. That i've seen him and i wasn't always a big believer in him since coming over to the cubs so Yes you'd have to move your ninth and a guy down. Look i saw this up close with the cubs and saves teen buster. They looked at aroldis chapman as their ticket to the world series and they were willing to give up a top prospect that the timing laboratories and it works and i think that's what other teams will look at kimbrough and state. He doesn't just make us better. He gets us to the world series. He may win the world series because what it does to the rest of that. Bullpen the trickle down effect. You already have a good bullpen. If you're contending t you at him now you're a world series contender in itself. So i i do think someone's going to give up a hall for him. Maybe maybe it's just a top prospect or to whatever the number it's quantity or quality or both. I think it's going to happen. And i think the conversations going after be with their own closer. The cubs had moved hector around. Don't down from the night of the eighth inning in sixteen. That was easy ron. john wasn't established. Might be tougher. Conversation with barnes or some other guys who trevino. But i think that's. That's the tough discussion. The man address to have with his own guy. Kimbrough could be your ticket to the world series. Yeah and i think from the red sox perspective when you look at sort of how that league shaping up and how their season is i. I could absolutely see them making a move for him. You know the fact that dallas for knows him from the past is worked with him from the past They've seen him had success in boston. And so that would work for him but we talk a little bit about this in the podcast yesterday. tweeted about. This was talking with a high-ranking baseball executive the other day. I mentioned where the red sox natural fit and this executive pushback on me. He goes now. Astros oakland when he talked about the astros being team where they have their plan is than you got presley. Doing a great job at the back end. But he's been a great middle any guy you would be a natural fit kimbrel for the astros in you know You know their owner would absolutely love to get the astros back into the postseason apps postseason success given the strength their offense let me go to the other team. You mentioned because i want to see if you buy into. What i'm selling here doesn't craig kimbrel. Just seem like he should be on the oakland athletics. Misdemeanor his look he. Just you know. Let's team was talking to marcus simeon recently. And he was talking about his blue jays team and how they're built differently than the as the as were built from the bullpen. Out so to speak. And i just feel like craig kimbrel would fit the as persona the cubs have done business with billy bean. Of course everybody's done business with the oakland athletics over the years. So i can see that as much as any team but they just i blinked. Trevino was the reliever of the month. So i mean there's there's like you said tough conversations have to be had depending on the roles that you're gonna you're gonna give these guys now i think it becomes much more complicated for the cubs Other than trading pitching in other words. You know anthony. Rizzo is respected veteran. He's a great defensive player. He's gonna get on base you know he's always going to be three sixty three seventy on base percentage off chris. Brian has as well lately. But he's someone who always gonna have good plate appearances. You can move them around a little bit but general managers through the years. I've always told me that it's harvard to trade a leap 's issue players during the season. Because it's a very specialized market when you look at potential matchups or the cubs in the trade market for the position players. What he'd say. Well it's a great irony to this. I see two teams and they're very close to the chicago cubs ones on the other side of town. The white sox. They always loved. Jack peterson and i still think they may have a hole right there. In the left handed side of the batter's box he'd be a good fit depending on lewis robert jimenez of course..

"Third topic kind of staying in the same lane, since we did the last episode talking about Chicago baseball, ironically enough, both teams have really hit a lag. Immediately after we recorded the last show with Marc and Greco, the White Sox went on to get swept on the road by the Astros, split the two game series with the pirates and lose the three game series to the Mariners. I'm personally not panicking without madrigal Robert Jimenez. Don't want to say that this sort of slump was expected, but I think we were all kind of wondering when will this team kind of come back down to earth or at least play like they should be playing with the players that are currently in the lineup? So when guys come back, like Robert and Jimenez after the all star break, I think that the White Sox will be back. I'm not worried about them. Now for the cubs, if I were cubs fan, I'd be a little concerned because we're starting to hit a point in the year where the cubs don't start winning games, and I don't just mean going 500 on road trips. If they don't start making traction in the standings, losing back to back games to the Milwaukee Brewers does not do that, by the way. Then the cubs are going to have to solve this summer. That means Chris Bryant could be out of town. That means Craig kimbrell, Ryan, to pair up, Jack Peterson, and potentially even have your bias could all be shipped out at the deadline. Bringing my opinion in here. I think that the cubs have to sell. No matter what. Obviously I'm a little biased is White Sox fan. But even cubs fans can agree. The way that this roster currently looks, this is not a World Series roster and is probably not even a playoff roster. And with the amount of expiring contracts and the lack of a premiere pharm system, the cubs have to sell. They absolutely have to. I actually heard a couple of days ago that the cubs and White Sox could be getting reinvolved in trade talks, which we all know how that went the last time with Jose cantona going to the north side and alley Jimenez and Dylan C is going to the south side will be a completely different story this time around if anything happens because the White Sox are now the ones buying and the cubs will likely be the one selling. But I think that the White Sox and the cubs would be ideal trade partners, and if it's going to rile up the city, I'm here for it. Would honestly be the second best thing behind a cub Sox World Series, which is not happening this year. Next topic, MBA playoffs, people need to relax with the ridiculing of this year's playoffs. Just because LeBron and Katie encourage aren't playing in the Conference Finals, doesn't mean it hasn't been a great playoffs. Sometimes it's okay for the norm to be done away with for one season, especially considering the fact that at this time last year, there were literally no professional sports being played. That's why I find it so ridiculous that people are complaining about this year's playoffs. Sons and clippers to this point has probably been one of the most exciting series in recent memory between the Deandre ayton game winner, the sun's going absolutely crazy in game one. The clippers going down three one and then winning in big fashion leading for all but two minutes behind Paul George going off. Like he never has in the playoffs, all the jokes last year pandemic pee, the joke's about playoff piece, saying that he's a great regular season player, but he never shows up in the playoffs. Will this year he has. And I'm sorry if you're not watching because your favorite player isn't playing, but it's been a pretty damn exciting playoffs. Some guys have really vaulted themselves to start. I'm Trey young, who wasn't all star this season, but now, entering next season could be viewed at as a near top ten player in the NBA. Same can be said for Devin Booker who has been the son's rock this entire playoffs. Everyone thought it would be Chris Paul, but once Chris Paul went out due to COVID protocols, Devin Booker took over and the sons didn't miss a beat. So this is my call to everybody. Watch the playoffs. Please, please, please watch the playoffs. Whether you're not watching because LeBron is an in it, or you just don't find any interest in the teams. Stop being spoiled. Seriously. We all remember what it was like at this time last year. Turn the playoffs on, enjoy it, I promise the majority of these games have been close. That's been the chief argument against the NBA has been the competition level there's such a divide between the top and the bottom, even of the playoffs. But these series have all been so exciting. There have been so many incredible moments. You've got to watch, though, in order to take that all in and in order to recognize that. Staying in the same lane with the MBA, there has been a very big downside and it has been the injuries, especially to star players throughout the playoffs and the regular season. The Lakers had LeBron went down about midway through the season, Anthony Davis was banged up just about all year. And LeBron spoke before the season during the season and after he was eliminated about how he believed that the NBA started the season up too soon because the NBA Finals weren't played out until the middle of October. I totally agree with that in hindsight, the NBA absolutely should not have started at the end of December when they did, seeing is that LeBron was 100% not at 100%, AD was out for most of the playoffs, Jamal Murray went down before the playoffs. But the real blows haven't even really been felt until the playoffs with Kyrie Irving getting hurt, James Harden getting hurt. That for all intents and purposes eliminated the Brooklyn. That's who everybody wanted to see in the finals this year with KD Kyrie and harden. Assante kumpo went down last night in game four of the hawks buck series does not look good. He's getting an MRI today. By the time the episodes out, everyone will know what happened, but Giannis going down, especially at the time that he went down, is a really, really big blow to the NBA's image, especially considering the fact that on the other side of the playoffs, Kawhi Leonard probably isn't playing in the finals. So right now, if you're the NBA, you're looking at best case scenario for the finals is a somewhat fully healthy suns team with a Chris Paul that hasn't really looked like Chris Paul since coming out of quarantine. Healthy hawks team, but hawks team that looked way, way, way out of contention in December. Although they were the four seed are the four seed in the playoffs, still haven't gotten that much attention because Trey young's been great, but he still isn't that superstar that everybody knows and everybody watches and everyone tries to emulate. If the bucks make it, it'd be nice, but the competition level just won't be there without Giannis. All the injuries have really come back to bite the NBA in particular. They wanted to start the season quickly. I understand it. You want to get the league calendar back to where it should be. But they certainly brought this along way too fast. And injuries happen, that sports, if we're being honest every year in the NBA, at least a couple of the big star players go down with brutal injuries. But this year has just been a little bit too much. As I made very clear the last topic, I'm still going to watch. I hope that you still watch. But the MBA really needs to reconsider how they treat their players and how they value the actual content that's being put on the court. At this point for the NBA, if they want to expand globally, they can't just try to get games on the court just for the sake of getting games on the court. They need to make sure that the players that are playing are at their highest level are healthy and that the best players are playing. So in the future, when something like this comes up, the NBA needs air on the side of caution instead of on the side of urgency. I don't think we'd be complaining if the finals were in August or September. I really don't. I don't think the players would. I don't think the ratings would change too much. The summer.

"He just looked at it went Oh, God. He expected another fastball got him. So that was a hell of a weekend for the Cubs. Hell of a weekend for the White Sox and now The White Sox step up in class. Tampa Bay comes rolling in and they're really good. Oh, God. We're going to be fine. Yeah, I'm not going to be ahead. How do you know the table like the twins? I will be out on the table for that one, because you have to have a measuring stick. Every time you look around, you say that's 100 500. We're supposed to beat them. Two out of three throughout of for what it takes. Sometimes there's going to be teams are just as good as you. That's that's the measuring stick. You find out who you are against these good teams, right? Right. And so the Tigers on that side of the ledger is like you're supposed to beat them. Now let's see what happened. I remember the socks mastered the test against Toronto. We were able to get that done and win that series. Now you move on. You got to figure out who you are. Without all the injuries and question marks about the White Sox is still a very, very good team now against Tampa. We're gonna find out. I'm looking forward to watching both games Cubs in New York They jumped on the plane last night. And they will play the Mets. They're going to get it looks like the Graham will go against them on Wednesday because his MRI was negative for structural damage. They'll wait to see how he feels after throwing a little bit today couldn't get around him. No, really nice bad guys getting around him. That guy is ridiculous. But when you look at our injuries, just impact everything. The socks have lost three starters, potentially for the year. We don't know if they're going to be back Madrigal Robert Jimenez. Here. The Mets almost lose the best pitcher I've seen in Many, many years. Jacob deGrom yesterday. No, James Harden. And then Kyrie goes down, and that looked awful. He left on crutches. MRI was negative or X rays negative, but they have no idea if you'll be able to play on Thursday, is it Is it happenstance cap? I mean, here we are 2021, the best medicine. All the things that you need now. Just suppose that to like 15 20 years ago, when you did have injuries, but and baseball in particular, the hamstring injury is so prevalent and so you've got to have deep rosters or at least put people in place to play. Now. This is where TL are the best and oldies and Dusty's. Uh, this is where he comes into play. All right, Men, Dick. We're going to put you in a position. Neither do too much. Just be able to play your position. Base it every now and then run the base as well. See what happens. Your team reminds me a lot of when Tony had his really good Cardinals team or the 89 Cubs. No, we didn't get to the World Series. But I mean, that was the luckiest team I've ever seen him in Chicago Sports. Yeah, that was. Oh, God, Yeah. Boys of Zimmer. Oh, the luckiest team. Here's what we're gonna do. We're going to triple steel on our hit and run. But that doesn't work Line Drive Base Hit right here. Come three runs a score. The cops are leading. The cubs are leading. How did that happen? Zebra pushed the button. That's what happened when I watch your team. It reminds me of his great cardinals teams because you would be like, Who the hell is that guy that just got bumped down? Hit to the right side got a big hit, and here's Danny Mandic, Andruw on all of these different guys, step up and find a way, you know. Absolutely. So That's the hope. So that's why Cap and I are smiling this morning because our baseball teams were both able to get it done on a beautiful weekend and just to miss one thing to watch the game with the socks being on the road, been watching Wrigley Field in glorious HD and watching the crowd full attendance, everybody there. At least it felt like I don't know, two years ago at Wrigley because it was just two years ago, Incredible. We saw a full capacity of fans loud and full voice having fun, different vibe, though this team is basically given me a plan. Uh, an idea for another book. That's their plan because that was their plan. We'll get this thing blown up real quick. Let me ask you something. Craig Kimbrel has been amazing. Yeah, since last September. He's been Incredible last night. This is not like some 37 year old guy getting you out like Rod Beck into his days at 86 months. He's at 99 with filthy action on his breaking ball. What you want striking out Coronado with the game on the line? Strike out to end the ball game and I'm thinking Hold on a minute. Jesse was just on the other day. They're going to trade Kimbrel. I'm arguing with Gordon Whitman. They're going to trigger Why Why What is he 32 33. Why That's ridiculous. Well, you understand why they're saying that They don't think that this good time Charlie Cubs team is going to last That's why the only reason why you trade Kimbrel now is because you don't believe that this Cubs team can hold the end of the bargain through the deadline. Did you see how many people were in the landmark? No, I understand. It was freaking packed but but again, staying on topic the reason why that our friends are saying like like a G Dub or Jesse and others are saying that they say This ain't gonna last They've seen this before. I think it might be different with you will see I am with But here's how it could be sustainable, though, cap you've got to add and push the right buttons. To add on to this team. Don't expect the court to get it done. See the thing that's so interesting about this team is the guys like the wisdoms the outcome triumph. Alcantara guys like that. That's what makes it interesting because it and and Mike I Marisnick As he's back. Well, he adds new blood. That's why and then some of the new guys in the bullpen right been incredible. That is, I'm not even looking at the core. I'm looking at the new blood that's adding to this team. Every time we win. We feel a section that's exactly right. Every time they win, they say, Hey, Up there.

"Erik Beck is through the bat back. And he threw it right into a Braves need right into a ship. Oh, my God. Oh, say he's going to hit now. Yeah, maybe he gets a free swing at Eric Beckett. So Eric back is is the umpire who had like just truly in a Bismol strike zone in a Cubs game recently. And this is not me, the Cub fan and saying that about his strike zone. The analytics. The stats that were released after or that he was only accurate. I'm thinking 85% balls and strikes, which is way below what MLB requires. Yet there he was last night, and it wasn't intentional. But he took the bat could get it out of the way because there's going to be a play at the plate, and he throws out the way it goes right into a braid. Your doubt he goes, I thought, Oh, God. They just lost another star. Another one, and I don't know how your team could continue. Just wasn't happy with that. That particular play because a brave is doing the right thing in that moment Runner going around third on his way to the plate, and he's and the on deck circle. Let them know. Hey, slide, or you're good. You called a lot of baseball. Yes. So for people out there that don't know what that role is when you're the on deck hitter. And the play is going to be at the plate. That's his role. Yes, either. Put the hands up saying You're good. Just go just run right in or bring the hands up and down, saying, Hey, you gotta slide here because it's going to be a close play and a brave was doing the right thing. But this idiot umpire, this Bacchus throws the bat. At a brave you trying to trying to kneecap him. And then I bring you goes down goes down. And I'm thinking because originally this is why we had the great angles for NBC Sports Chicago Originally, I thought you did you slip on the bat. You know how this happens, right? They bought the ball guard or the the The guy is supposed to be able to move the bat out the bad boy, right? You know, they're not. That is quicker. They used to be, you know if someone hits hits a ground ball. The bat ball usually scrambles out there and gets the bat away. Now when someone hits the ball hits the ball, the batch just sits there, so I thought I'd bring you slipped on the bat that was just laying on the grass. That was my first thought. Then we see the great angle from NBC Sports Chicago. This idiot back is throws the bat at the kneecap of a bre. You bring your goes down like a shot, right? But The I was talking to an umpire friend of mine last night. I said, so. How are you supposed to handle that? He said, Well, first of all he goes, He cannot look where he's throwing the bat because he has to keep his eyes on the play coming in, he goes because if he turns to go where am I thought? Oh, God. There's a I didn't see it, he said. If It was just the perfect storm, he said. It happened. He goes. There's no intent. You're not trying to take a player out. But he said, You're trying to watch the play. You take the bag. You throw it. He goes and Blank happen. Of course, an umpire would say that for other empire that's not a surprise there and taking up for one another all knows that my guy when people and he comes to the plate, people say, M v p and he's trying to do his job like you're good. You're Yeah, I'm down. I'm healthy. Did you not think he was seriously hurt? Anything in pain? I was It was one of those situations where the play was unfolding. And you were sites because they score the rhyme and I, honey, I was damn it at O on for the year. I thought he was I was. Yes, I was legitimately like Oh, God, no. No, I was audibly like just those last week when I come back when you don't know what's going on, and you're at home and you're just going Oh, come on, like, like one of those out loud talking to nobody in the room with me. I'm in the kitchen looking at the TV going. No, not a break you to come on like and you're thinking this could be a terrible situation. Last week was co pack. He went down like there was a sniper in the upper deck back. He's grimacing on the grounds. Honey, were you like I was like Tony's got to take him out. He can't play this game before it even gets to the plate. I'm like, I'm like, Let's be safe when he was standing. I was like, Get him out of the game. He doesn't need to play. No, I mean, I didn't care about the planet as long as he was healthy, but it just shows you the moxie of the man. He looks at the umpires like alright, You try to take me out. But you know what? I'm here for you. I'm gonna go out to like a man. I'm going to stand up there. This idiot Bacchus throwing that bad at that guy's knees like that, you moron taking him out. He's just up there like you're good. You're good. Oh, God. When he went down, I immediately thought okay on this show there are to die hards. Mandy out me. Oh, someone help me. It's over. Thought of you and Miller season over. I did know MV Big. No M v p Tell that's what I thought was happening, man. Felt bad. I mean, that's what your guys down there. I saw him go down and I went. Oh, no. Robert Jimenez, a bre, you Like Again. This is not a referendum on Tony LaRussa. So please don't think it is. It's a referendum on what your organization has been able to accomplish If you go back and look at that injured list from day one. Yeah. Menace, Robert Anderson Lynn..

Eric Beckett Erik Beck Tony LaRussa Robert Jimenez Robert Anderson Lynn Eric Last week NBC Sports Cub Tony Cubs last week Braves last night day one one first thought NBC Sports Chicago 85% balls Chicago
