"The listeners, we asked Twitter at rich eisen show to help him name his boat and it came back hashtag two policies. He just dropped a DJ. No, I could say I'm careful. I mean, yeah, you can't say that every day. So you take the 9 or schedule so easy because the ram stink, the Cardinals thing. Got it. Who else thinks a new schedule you think these can snake? The rams are not gonna stink. They will not. Now, the rams are gonna, they're gonna Ramsay, we better let me ask you here. The rams are gonna be under 500, guys. No. No, no, no. Oh boy. Brockman. I saw that last year. Am I the only one seeing things clearly here? I can see clearly now. Okay. I need another pump. So you didn't answer me. Which one is it? Which one is it what? The forty-niners. Every move, they're making to support Lance. Or supplant him. I think a lot of the moves are just in case. Situation. Come on, Trey. Trey's got weeks one through four. That's it. Maybe one through 6. I don't know about that. If purdy's back week four, if he's throwing, if he's throwing, if he's throwing and ready to go, ready to roll in week four. I don't know, pal. Then there's Sam darnold lurkin. Great stuff, 8 four four two O four rich, number to Donald here on the rich eisen show. Still to come, Robert Griffin the third from ESPN, the latest from the NFL owners meeting and all the teams who are not interested in Lamar. That quite frankly should be. That's still to come here on the program.

"Starter for a team at almost made the Super Bowl. Then it's going to be his gig. It's his gig and they keep Garoppolo around because they figure purdy's not the proper backup with no experience of a guy who's never done it before at the professional level for a full season. And he doesn't even last a full month in Trey Lance. And Garoppolo does what he does all the way to his injury and party does what he does all the way to his injury and Lance is like, I'm open for the competition and not only is the competition going to come from purdy when he comes back, but they acquire Sam darnold. On top of it, and this could be his perfect moment of opportunity as well. Without question. For darnold, the most secure and consistent coaching staff and management situation he's ever been part of, don't forget Todd Bowles drafted him, then Adam Gase got old Googly eyed, then he saw ghosts, then he's gone. Then Matt rule is there, and then Matt rule is gone. Steve Wilkes is in. Now he's gone. And so is darnold, and that's not happening in San Francisco. So which one is it? Everything's there to support Lance and everything is there to supplant land. Which one is it? I think it's the same thing. I don't know, man. I'd like to see him out there for a full year just to see what it's like. I don't know, man. I think he side is through the roof. I think he's the starter week one. Lance? Yes. It's gotta be. I think he's gonna be the starter week one, and I think he's got a month to show it. That is a very short runway for him. And he's gotta take off and he's gonna have to have a dynamite first month at the ground right now. Because if purdy comes back in week four and he's ready to go, don't you think? The 9 is a three on one, then don't you think, you know, that is gonna be a great drama to play out. And a great problem for the forty-niners to have. Absolutely. One of those first class problems, right? Not that difficult of a schedule. Paper for the forty-niners. 'cause you think the rams are gonna stink. I do. Okay. So you think that's two dubs? I do. And I know that they have the rams number to begin with, even when the rams are atop of the football food chain. They play the NFC east, they play the AFC north, and they also play Jacksonville, Minnesota, and Tampa. Not that hard this year. You just went higher register. I noticed it. By the way, while we're on the subject of the rams, Sean mcvay spoke today and says that the team is definitely interested in bringing back Odell, and says guess what? Matthew Stafford, no limitations ready to roll. Yeah, well, to quote you, rich, I need to see it. Full ghost spring. Full ghost spring. Need to see it. Full ghost spring. And here come the rams and the don't have a first round pick. It belongs to Detroit. And here we go. We're going to get we're going to get we're going to get more draft choices in. I want the rams to be so good that you won't give up your tickets on the secondary ticket market. More than twice. Who's on the rams home schedule? Do you want to peg which ones you're already going to put on the secondary ticket market? Sure. And I want hold on a minute. I want your opinion, I know you're going to go to all of them, Mike. I can't. Why? They're not going to have any night games. We're going to have maybe one night game. I work on Sundays. I'll never have a chance. Are you kidding me? Uh oh. I'm actually sad. So here we go, Micah, Chris, giving me. All right, here we go. So obviously we have Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle. Seattle. I mean, you don't want to see Seattle come in. Here comes Bobby Wagner. A lot of Seahawks fans in LA. Yeah, Seahawks a good thing. I know, so you want to cough up your tickets for that. Yeah, yeah. Let's see, they play the commanders at home this year. You want to see Lamar? We might meet. Eagles, eagles, and so far this year. Oh, that's the ticket. I could pay my season. Cleveland? Pittsburgh, another one. A big one. Hold on a second. Pay that man, his money. Pittsburgh's coming here. Oh, yeah. A lot of steeler fans in that way. That second game for the

"Sitting at the rich eisen show desk furnished by Granger with supplies and solutions for every industry. Granger is the right product for you, call, click ranger dot com or just stop by. Any grain your equipment being used to put in your floors. Yes. There actually is. And now we're all working it together. Isn't that great? Yes. San Francisco forty-niners. They're talking. We got talking going on. About their quarterback situation. I got a three man sitch right now. Well, they got Sam darnold. Do they just acquired? They got Trey Lance. And they got Brock purdy, who came out of nowhere. Came out of nowhere last pick in the draft, who would have thunk it as we're sitting there wrapping up the draft last year in Las Vegas, Nevada, who knew. That they hit the point on their final role of the dice. And purdy, as we all know, is hurt. Hurt himself in the NFC championship game. And could be back for the season, might not be. general manager spoke yesterday about the quarterback situation with Jimmy Garoppolo no longer behind the glass in case of emergency. I think Brock has earned the right with the way he played that he's probably the leader in the Clubhouse at that. You know, I'll let Kyle make those kind of decisions, but I know when we talk, I think Bronx probably earned that right to be the guy if we were to line up the probably take that first snap and we're really excited about where Trey is out with his progress from his injury. He's been working really hard and. Loved the opportunity to be that brand Sam darnold and his skill set. We think it's a really good fit. And so we like that. We like that room a lot. Is that surprised you? That Brock purdy gets the nod over two third overall picks. I'm over two third overall picks, including one that they just acquired for minimal value. A little surprise. You in one with their this year going to sit around and smoke them if they got them for a second straight year in the first round, paying off their final. Bill on that one. A little surprising given that Brock Perry's injuries so recent and that it's going to have no off season, essentially, and Kyle Shanahan said today that he may not be ready until week four. 6 months, 8 months is what he said could be. Based on how he's healing from the surgery, it could be 6 months, 8 months. So 6 months from today, as longer than week four pal. I mean, week four, kind of at the earliest. So I would bet that it's going to be Trey Wyatt's for a majority of the season for San Francisco. Carl Shanahan asked about trading one of his quarterbacks, quote, will listen to anything. We'll listen to people that want to trade for John lynch. We'll listen to people that want to trade for me. So tomorrow we might be dead, essentially. That's essentially his version of that. Anyone's available. Got it. Tom Brady's throwing footballs on a beach like Top Gun looking pretty good. Nice. I mean, dude shredded. I saw I saw Gronk Gronk showing off his phone. Like a half moon in the water and stuff like that. And you see, Edelman, Edelman's yoked, Amendola looks good. It did look like Top Gun. Like, get the band back together. Seriously. Bring Tom and his San Francisco. Get Gronk to match up with kittle. You got Edelman in the slot with them and then deebo and I picked up his 5th year. We got CMC in the backfield at 17 and O 17 year old baby. You know what the O also stands for is I think the total body fat of those 5 individuals. Yeah, right? Come on. One time. Bring it back. Right now that's the sound you hear of Susie pulling over to the side of the road to check out Tom Brady's Instagram right now. I recommend it. That's it good. What do we got? Mike, it's $40 on that direction. Don't go there. Chris, we don't deal in rumors with Tom Brady around here. Stop that. John, let's just say that the guy who would start week one is a dude who can't throw it from me to you right now. Is it me or is every move is our life? Is it me? Is it me or there's two ways to look at this? Is it me or is every move that they've made since acquiring Trey Lance? The wrong being made to make sure that Trey Lance has the proper backup and the proper support and the proper cushion in case he needs that in his maturation or every move that they've made since acquiring Trey Lance. Is to have a plan that they'd rather have than start Trey Lance. And again, now landscape. We love Trey west. Dude, he was awesome at Super Bowl. And how he said he's open to the competition, that video went viral. When APS, that was the first interview we had in our Super Bowl. Number one this past year in Arizona. And he was great. Love him. And they draft him third overall. They use all that capital to go get him. He comes out of a season at North Dakota state that had only one game in it because COVID wiped it out. He hadn't played a game. He had hardly played at the collegiate level, he played one terrific season, then COVID wiped it out and then they drafted him. Then they use him the idea is in the red zone and his rookie season. He throws the first touchdown pass of the year. For the forty-niners, as a rookie, and then they play Garoppolo instead, he gets a cup of coffee here and there because Garoppolo couldn't stay healthy the whole season and Jimmy G was the clear starter for a team at almost made the Super Bowl. Then it's going to be his gig. It's his gig and they keep Garoppolo

"And Rogers will have to show up and he knows the offense and maybe he'll be video of him working out somewhere and throwing with lazard and other people. There'll be threats of X, Y, and Z really wanted to get that ugly. I can't imagine. Because then it would end to the far from, then it would, but not because of what Rogers is doing. Because what the general manager is doing. But he can also sit there and just wave his game plan at the howling crowd like coach Dale did and hoosiers and just say this is my plan. No one knows. It's not even April. Let's take a break. Forty-niners quarterback situation is in full conversation right now. Isn't this great? I love it. Oh, yeah. Brian dabel spoke about saquon Barkley. We heard Ron Rivera and Arthur Smith both asked about Lamar Jackson today and why are your teams not interested? Got that going on. They're going to vote on rules changes today. That's coming. Or tomorrow. They're going to split it up. Let's get that on site. You got that going on. We got that going on. Oh, there's our guests too. Robert Griffin the third, he's got a very strong opinion on what's going on with Lamar Jackson and his free agency slash non free agency. He's first up on this program middle of our number two. That'll be great. Miles Sanders is on this program. Former eagle, now Carolina panther. And Brian dutcher, the head coach of San Diego state university, who is from the Steve Fisher tree. Going all the way back to my senior year of college. All the way back to then. He was there as Steve Fisher went on that magical run. Sorry against you, we're going to go on down the seat and haul memory lane, Mikey. And then he was part of the fab 5 era. Then he follows Steve Fisher to San Diego state, where apparently he was the prime recruiter of Kawhi Leonard. And now he's a final forehead coach for San Diego state, which could join the PAC 12 when this tournament's all over. So lots to talk about with Brian Dutch are an hour number three. 8 four four two O four rich number to dial. Sorry folks. Aaron

"At right now. It's the first round pick, isn't it? They want it in it. I can't blame them. Of course not. But guess what? It's not going to be on the table. Probably not. Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no, no. Come on. Get out of here. It's the same. It's the same two words. Same two words. You want that first person. Sorry, folks. Not happy. Look, here's the questions that I have. Green Bay, are they really going to go into this draft? Making this thing go on the other side of the draft? Are they really going to not take pics in this year's draft? And then have next year's draft be the sliding scale of picks. In the same way that Lamar Jackson isn't getting the money back that he has absolutely cost himself by having the stance that he has, yes, he's looking for his worth, guess he's looking for his value. I do not blame him for that, but there is no question that in previous deals he could have had, he could have multiple tens of millions more in his pocket. Had he made a deal for less than the guaranteed money that he was insisting upon. A long time ago. He could have had that after year three deal the same way that Allen did and others, the way that borrow is going to have and Justin Herbert's going to have. The same way that that's not never coming back. Neither would the picks in this year's draft if the packers don't take them down. Those picks are gone. Now they can get picks and next year's draft, but they'll have to be sliding around. They could be worse, they could be better, but they could be better if Rogers plays and Rogers wins the Super Bowl, all of that, you might as well take the picks now and then have next year's draft be the ones where they could be vastly improved if Rogers does well. Why not? Okay. The question also is, okay, the packers willing to do that. The other question is is when is Rogers going to talk next? When is he going to turn the heat up? He can't be watching that. Sound bite from Gouda kunst wherever he is and sipping on that tea of his and just being letting it roll completely off his back. Maybe he does. I shouldn't speak for him. I mean, that's obviously dangerous. He's told everybody, nobody speaks for me. He speaks for himself, but I can only imagine. That can't sit well with him. And the answer is, if he keeps talking, does that put more pressure on the jets? 'cause that's the way last time he spoke on McAfee show, everybody came out thinking, well, the jets now have to do this and he's undercut the jets position. Or does he just stay quiet and let this thing play out? Because the longer he sits and his intentions are not rewarded with actual real reality of a trade well, then you're running a risk of him showing up. Now then, as a jet fan, do I want to mirror immediately, of course, as a guy who sits in this chair? Do I want this to linger through the draft and have roger show up to Green Bay? Absolutely freaking. Lutely. You know, is he in and Yang over here, Chris. You know what I'm saying? I understand. There's a meme. There's a me thing. And then there's a me thing. I guess it's both about me. We'll be sick of talking about it by then, but it will be great drama if that happens. Oh my God. Sick of talking about it by then. Because for me. No, no, no. I would like to have him immediately. I want the jets to use this 13th round draft choice. Of course. It's going to be a top ten player that's not a quarterback. Right. Yeah. I do math. I can do that, math. Anthony Richardson, who Frank Reich said today has top pick screaming all over his tape sometimes. Uh oh. You know, he's going. He didn't go top 5. Levis could go top 5. As he showed up all gleaming in hockey at his at his pro day. We screwed up, rich. Florida pro day. This Monday is a Thursday. It's the 30th. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So I want them to use it 13th overall pick, but they are running a risk. This is going to get done. I'm telling everyone this is going to get done. I don't know when. Because there's dance going on. Well, it's playing out. It's glorious. It's a lot of great to talk great food for thought. But it's going to happen. Everybody involved knows it's going to happen. And I don't know, it really depends on when gudeta kunz finds what midnight is for him. That's it. What's midnight Brian? What's midnight for you? He's not going to tell that to the media, even if that's point blank. What's midnight? Is it the draft? Is a train camp? Or is it September 1? You're literally going to wait and you will blow up the entire jets season and Aaron Rodgers season till September 1. You will hold out for that. And then you're going to have to get then you'll get nothing. You're going to have to release him. Then you'll get zero.

"The organization, they do feel like at least Kyle Trask is likely to be the guy in the center. I feel pretty confident that they're going that direction. Whether that's due to some salary cap concerns because they did go all in on Tom Brady the past couple of years to try to build around him. And now they do have to pay a little bit of that price. I still think that Jason liked the general manager is never just he's just not going to lay down by any means. But I think he also believes Kyle Trask has what it takes to be a winner in this league and he looks around the division and he says, well, we got the best quarterback in the division at the very least. So, you know, I'm not saying that means much, but I think that he at least thinks they can be competitive with Kyle Travis. Yeah, but we just saw there with projected cap space. That's what happens when you put everything in one basket to win a Super Bowl and thank God for them. You know, I'm thinking about contrast, he's probably like, man, I wish I could go back to my days at Florida when I was a starter for the last time and have Kyle Pitts, Cadiz, Tony, but either way, he does have some weapons there. You've been one of those weapons at times when there's been a backup quarterback. What is that like for the guys, at least there is some familiarity there, as opposed to a totally new guy. Well, I know you. You're in the room with me. We're at practice together. I see you every single day. The media doesn't see you every single day. They saw you in college, but they're not there. They're not in the film sessions. They don't really understand. And on top of that, when I talk about young quarterbacks, I'm always talking about having alpha dogs. Well, guess what? You got two. You got two right there with you. So he will not have a huge learning curve. They're all going to learn the same system together. Then I got to keep the Byron leftward system. They're bringing a system from Seattle like Robert Griffin just talked about so they are going to learn it together. And when you got Mike Evans and you got Chris Godwin, and you have admin company, you got something. You got gauge. You got something as a young quarterback. I've been in with young quarterbacks before as an older player that had played in this league and it wasn't as bad as you think, as long as they do what we need them to do, which is give me the damn ball. I knew it was coming somewhere. Just feel it. He had to get it in there. Love it key. Also, we have more quarterback talk coming on this show. We're going to get into Lamar Jackson's situation. You don't want to miss that, but also up next with 19 cowboys becoming free agents. Where should the teams priorities lie? Our analysts are going to weigh in on what moves need to be made in Dallas. Don't miss the final season of the Hulu original series. Wu Tang, an American saga, now streaming only on Hulu. So glad you're with us on NFL live. Let's get to the latest news around the league with our insider Jeff Darlington and Jeff. We begin in San Francisco with Brock purdy. What's the latest there? Well, Laura Brock purdy's surgery on his UCL has been delayed until March at the earliest. Doctors want to see the swelling go down in his elbow. Now this obviously delays the timeline for his return as well. This is going to be about a 6 month recovery, so if we do the math from March, we're looking at August before he can make that full recovery. Certainly allows him time to get there before the start of the season, but Trey Lance with a huge opportunity come training camp. Taylor luan was actually released by the Titans today the longtime left tackle. He's among those, including wide receiver Robert Woods, who are essentially salary cap casualties, the Titans $23 million over the cap they need to get underneath that before they can make any moves in free agency so low on. Longtime very popular player for the Titans is out of Tennessee. Another very interesting move, perhaps a little inside baseball. Daniel Jones has decided to switch agents. The reason why this is newsworthy, of course, is because we're expecting him to try to negotiate a long-term deal. The Giants would like to get a deal done with him, and if they can't buy march 7th, they will consider applying the franchise tag. The question of course here is the money involved by switching agents, Jones clearly believes that he can get more out of the Giants than they presently were planning to give him. We'll see how that works out for on Laura. Yeah, I think that's incredibly notable of a story Jeff, because he's going to be looking for probably a lot more than people really expect him to get, but that quarterback market, you know how it goes. All right, let's go to Dallas elsewhere in that division where Jerry Jones has his hands full this off season, putting a team together with 19 free agents to figure out who stays who goes. Who do they go out and get, right? As usual, Super Bowl or bust with a cowboy. So with that in mind, we proceed accordingly. Also, the cowboys currently projected to be $7 million over the cap this season. They have some key big names set to hit the market. Let's tell you about them on offense. Tony Pollard, and Dalton Schultz, both slated to be unrestricted free agents on defense, former first round pick, Leighton van der resh and safety Donovan Wilson headlined that list. So Robert, who do they need to make sure they bring back? I mean, they got a prioritized. I had two on the list, but I'm going to move it to three. It's got to be Tony Pollard. He's their leading rusher, the most dynamic offensive player outside of CD lamb that they had got to bring him back. And they got to bring back their leading tackler and their second leading tackler on defense. That would be latent van der este linebacker and safety Donovan Wilson. You don't want to let those key cogs go from a team that bounce Tom Brady from the playoffs and has the moniker of the only team in cowboys history to ever beat Tom Brady. All of these guys are extremely important to what the cowboys are trying to do outside of their star players. And last but not least, guys, they have to do everything in their power to draft bijan Robinson out of Texas. He does everything that Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott can do and he's in one package dynamic playmaker. I think a lot of teams are going to really contemplate moving up in the draft to take him. Well, I think, you know, you certainly hit on Tony Pollock, no question about it because he did amazing things for them when they gave him the opportunity to carry the load. I look at it, though, play making abilities. CD lamb and Tony Pollard are really the only two playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. They have cap issues what they got to do is they got to go to some of those big money guys that have the large numbers and talk to them about renegotiation. And of course you kick the can down the road. Everybody does it. Not that big of a deal. But you need a playmaker. You got to go find one of these receivers that'll be available. There's a Robert Woods out there. You can revisit OBJ again. Then there are possible there could be a Deandre Hopkins, a Keenan Allen, possibly a Michael Thomas in New Orleans, could be available to you if he's healthy. So if you look at that and you say, okay, I need a playmaker when dak Prescott got Amari Cooper changed his life when they traded for him. Their third down percentage went up, they became a big time team on third down, so you gotta have playmakers in order to be successful. We know what

"Would you do a little lion's minus one and a half over 50 and a half saint Brown gets a TD at any point in the game for plus three 52? What is it if it's Jamal Williams? Because Jamaal Williams any town touched anytime touchdown was printing money this year. It's been my best bet of the season. That's minus one 40. That takes us to plus three 19. See, I feel safer with Jamal just because you can set your clock to Jamal again three red zone carries every single week. It's the most consistent thing you've seen. He's minus one 40. They move to a minus one 30 last week. As of two or three weeks ago, like the bills, he was still minus one ten. It was the most hilariously mispriced line you could find. Every single week, it was just such a funny, they go to them all the time. And the thing was is back in the day, it was because everybody thought the starter was swift. So he used to be like plus one ten plus one 20. It was incredible times. Then swift got her and then swift came back and it was very clear Jamal was the starter. They're kind of more and more reintegrating swift, like switch up with the majority of the reps for them last week. So I thought maybe they'd move the Jamal line back a little bit. Nah, the books had gone wise. They know, you gotta keep it as long as you can. Smart. What do you got for a matchup number three? Miners bucks in what's like a hugely impactful game for the NFC playoffs, but also the ugliest game of the week because of what the bucks are offensively at this point. And then obviously schrager and I, we hit this. I think the bucks are awful and I think the niners defense is going to win this game by themselves. So are you in? I'm on the under for this game. On under for this game is one of the first things I took. This the bucks offensive coaching staff. Byron leftwich, and then to what degree Todd Bowles is involved fourth down decision so on and so forth. They're not interested in scoring points. They have no interest in winning games. I don't know what they're doing on Sunday. It's just kind of like vibing and having a good time. But it's evident that the decisions they made that they have no interest in scoring and moving the ball down the field and creating offense. If they did, they'd throw the ball to different players, they'd face more Rashad white in, they'd run more play action, they'd pass more on first down, but they don't do any of this. And the evidence is overwhelming. So this obstinate of an offense that does things are not good at against a defense that's so good, match up so good situationally generates so much pressure against the banged up offensive line like them forty-niners defense can do. I think it's an under spot for sure. The matchup to me that the number I say that's interesting is what we get Brock purdy versus Todd Bowles defense. Todd Bowles historically against rookie quarterbacks has been extremely good. Going back to his time since he was a defensive coordinator to a head coach. Anytime I'm calling it defense, boles is four and ten against rookie quarterbacks. He is too in ten if you get rid of the games he had to play against Washington. And what Robert Griffin the third in that season with Robert Griffin was a rookie.

Though what i think is going to look like is a heavy dose of that whole headed monster at running back. Starting with di year for the running back is going to start with him a milton. Kenny macintosh alone as young receivers. Get a little bit of spirits up. Think once either you're going to see more and more ocean from top but right now they have to foot more than three points on the board because they're Test robert many many thanks. So we'll all be watching march show great to have you on the program. You'd be well i appreciate your fall. God bless you gotta show right The former heisman trophy winner robert griffith the third Now part of the espn college football team. We will take a break. Actually before we do that. Let me go to let me go to weasel. I mean can you turn down a guy name weasel on a friday afternoon. Go right ahead going on policy nickname. I'm very proud of my grandmother. Gave it to me. When i was born like four pounds. That's like a little weasel and the were you should be proud. I've been i've been called a little weasel before and it's not my nickname. Yeah i'm very proud of it. Hey listen i just wanted to cut those on my watch. The nick sabin press conference he had a couple times and You know. I gotta tell you man. What would that press conference. You gotta listen to what he's saying. He is very detailed He's very focused. And and if i'm jim fisher Which i think. He's probably the second highest paid coach in the sec. I could be wrong on that would be. I'd be worried to death because his players obviously buy into that kind of pressure. Because nick sabin is a pressure i i consider him a pressure oriented coach and it works because his players buy into it and the results. You hear you say hey. I had thirteen. I could be wrong quote thirteen players in the nfl from last year. I mean that those numbers speak volumes to players. That are playing for him. It's an okay. Hey listen this coach delivers so we're gonna play hard for this coach and and and and i'm just thinking you know to me. I haven't been impressed. Jimbo fisher not throwing off. On jimbo fisher. But hey if. I gotta look at sec west. I put lane kip and don't know what the salary is which is irrelevant. I guess but. I put him way before jimbo fisher. Intimacy and sam pittman. Listen what tim tebow just said about. Sam pettman his players. Listen to win. He's not a pressured player. He's not a pressure coach. He's if it don't work we don't change it. We stay with it. And i'm not saying nick. Sabin that coach in practice. If things don't work hayward change it up. I don't think he's dead sporadic because if he was he wouldn't be successful is zia's but if you take the sec west. And you take jimbo fisher. Sam pittman laying tiff. And i'm telling you right now if five years if they're able to stay put lane kiffin above all of them. In san pittman jimbo fisher third. I just wanna to get your opinion on that because to me nick. Saban coached at has dealt with adversity. These had turnover and his coaching staff. He's had things he's had to deal with. He's had You know i mean lane. Kiffin left in the middle of the not not in the middle of the somebody in the product cost him a national championship. But he's able to rebound year after year after year. And i just don't see jimbo fisher. Being is is forty. Paid for alabama. Yes every pennies worth out of nick. Sabin he does it because he's got a passion for the sport. He's got a passion for coaching. And i i just wanna to get your opinion on that. Maybe i'm in left field. But i know what i am on a certain. There's no no fault fault found anything you say. "The headline. This is from. Seth emerson in the athletic concerns The fact that carson is projected to be the starter tomorrow night. When you come to sanford stadium. Robert griffiths a third joining us. He's part of the broadcast. I owe robert. It's so great to have you Here at the network and on our program but we were delighted. Good afternoon all. I'm the excited one. This is a blast to cover college football It's an amazing thing. So we should chat me on the show. Thank you very much. Let's start where most fans Attention is right now. Jt gaynor clearly hurt. We will let me let me. You're you're on the ground there. Let me get the the the word from you in terms of what you expect in what. You're hearing in relation to that position tomorrow night at an opportunity to talk daniels today topic the coaching staff. And he's you know. He suffered from an belief injuring. And they're not shirking but had given him time off this week if it'll heal and he feels like it's it's progressed well but there's a change carson beck. Is it started. It really doesn't know anything about him. Was missing all vote in two thousand eighteen. Four star recruit pro style quarterback a little bit more mobile than j. t. news but he's really impressed. The coaching staff who have earned that that second quarterback is so if they do play expecting to robert i she probably had every injury imaginable That a quarterback can suffer We'll explain to us Who don't have any earthly idea. What an oblique injury does to you. Yeah so within league injured. You're really talking about affecting talk right when you're calling hundred throwing up for the yard bomb. That's really when the bucks to hurt you. Let's quarterbacks we deal with some of these smaller injuries all the time. Nobody really cares right. We get all the praise and we did all the poll. Whatever things humble right but Is suffering from that though they talk about the big plays they talk about the explosion that they need or the inside of the ball open is oblique is hurting bill. The ball at as the or as effective rob is just one of those injuries that by cooling it off a little bit. We'll get better. Is it the kind of thing that just just hangs on. Yeah it's something that's going to get better as time goes on. He's got to give him a break. Right and i think did you saw with jack prescott cowboys. He had an injury. He got some time off doing there of four hundred three yards. So i dunno. Jc daniels Either one of the most stout asked all the avid for about three years now so But it is an injury that you can play with as long as it is properly. I don't know three or four days is enough time for the fully recovered and get back out there. But i'm not a doctor. And i'm not as coached. So they have to clear the if they will be ready to world properties. I mean there are a lot of. They've been a lot of bad match ups In college football. But most people that that that no this you. A program have tremendous respect for bill clark and his staff. When when you look at this team on film what what do you see. Yeah i is foremost coach. Smart has a lot of respect for coach car. He used to recruit his high school whenever he was a high school coach. And what. I'm seeing on the tape that i've watched the has followed. Well coached team. They always say teams while on special teams and block. A well coached you and me is no different. It like to take a lot of stocks. It all starts with the running a but we're going to see the battle of two great defense under of a football team. Robert finally Let me state the obvious here about what we saw last week. From georgia's defense. I don't think we need to much more platitudes. But but as you look at the offense clearly there there were missing some key players what What is the likely hit. Some of these guys are coming back. And what do you think wants. Everyone gets a little bit healthier discharge. Offense is going to look like yet talk with the offense coordinator. Todd monkey near you. Obviously everyone knows. They lost george in the spring to a.

"Chris and we'd always have semi plausible movie project with stars in well. That seems reasonable and then he would break into right and you don't have robert griffin and you starting lineup this weekend. You're a moron you know. And and i remember the day that that happened and we've been doing a bit for a while. He was in the news. Because the skipper of that of the boat that wagner and natalie wood and walk and we're on he was coming out with a book and he was talking about. I think it was like the some kind of anniversary for the for the actual date of it and and you came to me and you said we gotta do this when we do the walking today and i remember being like i don't know man this little dicey should we and sort of like how you always talk van pelt into doing his impersonation on just do it and i was like okay and that was all basically off the top of my head. I forget what it was. You remember parts of it. 'cause zam buca involved. There's there's a lot of go ahead outing. Yeah there was shouting. I remember. we're having fun. And then shouting san buca. And i went to the full birth to read hardy boyz book and i fell asleep and when i woke notley was gone. And and and then literally right after that. It was like an adrian. Peterson is gonna run circles around the chiefs next weekend right and so we just thought of course nobody takes this seriously and then i was walking to the gym like four or five hours later and i got a call from. I don't know it's inside edition or something like that and thank god. I got a hold of you. You have the audio from his to walk and talk on your show. And i was like what are you talking about. What's going on. And then i started to realize what was up and as you said it was everywhere and then they started calling it a hoax and it was like it's not a hoax. It's a radio bit. it's still all over. I if you google um christopher walken radio interview natalie wood On nine eighty there are so many stories that had been written about it. It's it's amazing. Here's one on friday. The associated press learned that christopher walken apparently called into washington. Dc sports talk radio. Show the sports it by the way parenthetically which already doesn't make sense close parentheses to to discuss details from that fateful night in nineteen eighty one the ap quoted walking saying we had a lot to drink that night. There was sam buca there was shouting and then there was tragedy. And that's all i can remember..

"He made for able to be calculable as part of the patriots day. I'm not sure if we should right because he wasn't even actually. He never coached for ballot. Check so i mean floor is right now. I'm still fairly young in his coaching career. But like he's kind of on the director where he could be. The star pupil like the star of the bill ballot coaching tree. He's very few missteps. I do wanna. I don't wanna like criticized the co offensive coordinator thing too much before we actually see it in practice but But yeah i'm a little worried that it's too many too many cooks That's totally fair. So in the afc north three teams sent out. No disrespect to the bengals but steelers. Ravens browns all playoff teams last year. All eleven wins are more lindsay. Those three teams is there any one of those three that you think are best positioned to really push the chiefs if they were to match up in the afc championship game okay. I don't think it's the steelers you know for like eliminating one. I think you take the steelers out out of that. Mix i mean. I still think there's lots like about their defense and they've really good offensive talent. But if we're talking if i'm looking at a lot of this through the lens of how explosive is your offense. How ready is your quarterback to get into a shootout type of situation. I just don't think that. Eighty seven year old ben rothlisberger in the version of him that we saw last year even when they were winning they rate no or whatever it was that they were at i. Just i don't think it's the steelers so for me. It's looking at the browns and the ravens. And i think they're kind of two different conversations. I think that the browns are more complete roster top to bottom. I think maybe they're they're floor. Might be a little bit higher. But maybe they're stealing is slightly lower. Because lamar jackson just gives the ravens the flight infinite ceiling when everything is working at gives you that factor that he could do anything in any game that just about that. The home is the other guy in the league but has that ability. So i love so much about the browns done. I love their running game. I love a lot of the defensive moves that paid. I think they've just made some really smart additions. Over this off season you know the the jonathan signing the i loved that was one of my favorite free agent moves and then something like the bargain moves that. They've made the maliki jackson even today. Vian clowney who he hasn't brought much but that's kind of a low risk like he doesn't have to go in there and be like the guy on their defensive line but maybe you can get from limited production out of him you know. I think they've made some some smart defensive additions to fix some of the holes that they had a. I just say that maybe they're ceiling slightly lower than the ravens. Just because give me lamar jackson over baker. And that's nothing to baker's not good browns fans don't get up and they were all there all over us after we did. Our future quarter had a couple of weeks ago. Because i think he was fifteenth in fifteen player dropped and that wasn't saying that we think is a bad player. Anything was exercise. We have to take into consideration who the player is what contract situation is going to be. Like what would you do with him for five years. And i think he's in a good situation very much better than the situations. He was ever in early in his career. And then i think i guess the other thing too is like they. We saw them play right. We saw the chiefs and the browns play in the postseason. And i don't remember being any point in that game where i really thought the browns were going to win that game. I thought the gap between those two teams is pretty significant. Even with patrick mahomes not. I mean that was the game where he got. He got hurt. Where yeah even there was a little bit that it was like well shoot from homes is out but even then it was kind of like the chiefs are the gap is still. The gap is still pretty large. There where i think if you you think about a ravens chiefs game and the playoff game if everything is working for the ravens. I think that could be really exciting. I mean we this time last year we just like all jazzed for every single ravens chiefs matchup for the next ten years and i don't i think even maybe lamar took a little bit step back last year which we should have all expected he wasn't gonna keep his twenty nineteen pace. That's just unfair for anybody to expect you know. I think i think he has that potential to make any game a really exciting close game. Yeah i agree. Mostly i would leave the steelers out. I think they got hit pretty hard. This offseason i think it would take a really dramatic improvement from ben rothlisberger to get the steelers back to where they were during the first half of twenty twenty and in the old you know the guy but he's not the guy who used to be maybe he will be. no stranger. things have happened. Tom brady just won. A super bowl but The plane a lot. Better than ben rothlisberger and tom brady massively or not massively. But significantly upgrade of the talent around him i mean he went to a much better team in the steelers. You know obviously depends on leaving. The steelers went from eighteen. That was pretty good. Talent around him last year but to a team that loss to their starting offensive linemen in pouncey and villain. The wave a team. That lost bud. Dupree that steven nelson that lost pieces on both sides of the football. That's not gonna be as impressive and baby takes a big leap forward. Stranger things have happened. I can't count on that happening with the browns. I think you brought up that playoff game. And i think that's the sort of the frustrating thing if you're a browns fan is that you know if you work in do it in a game where patrick mahomes get hurt. And he's out for the last quarter and a half. When are you going to do it. I mean that that was a brownstein that was down. Nineteen three at halftime. They don't a good job. You know keeping the chiefs touchdowns and field goals in the second. Half to kind of you know Help keep the browns in the game. And of course you got the pets down and then mom gets hurt handy thursday interception in the end zone and the browns did make a run legitimate possession. I believe in the fourth quarter with a chance to win that football game and then it stalled and they had to punt. But you know the chances that you're going to end up in a pile game against the chiefs. And patrick mahomes is not gonna be there for a chunk of the game so slick and you have to take advantage of that when you have the chance and the browns could not so to me regardless of what you think about baker you know the the baker was playing well very well in the second. Half of the on the postseason The problem necessarily in that game. But i just don't know if they have that next year. I think it's gonna you know i love. I love the move. They made this off season. But i just don't know if they have that maybe they do. You know i. Obviously when they beat the steelers in the wild card game they look great. But i'm just skeptical of that and with the ravens you know. It's only a three game sample so you don't want to rule anything out but it just feels like the ravens. Just do not have the answers for stopping the chiefs and has been just incredible the three times these these two teams have played. The mars actually been in all of the games. I believe he got hurt in the game where he was the he was a rookie. I think robert griffin came in navy for the For overtime in that game from that mistake market hurt in overtime And you know. I the ravens. Certainly.

Well we know that. Aaron rodgers is kind of on a boo. Who were right now. So look they don't want to do it. They're not going to trade and they're not trying to trade him. he's not leaving just in case. Apparently they're kicking tires on guys who don't have teams like blake bortles robert griffin the third matt barkley and nick mullins. That's right the nick. Mullins era is over in san francisco. Always have that. Monday night game or sunday night. Whatever was when he beat the raiders. One hundred to nothing. But apparently he wants brian. Good aku fired. And he says that if it doesn't happen he doesn't get a trade to either. The broncos the raiders and the forty niners that he'll retire If he does retire though like barry sanders you'll have to give back his signing bonus which is twenty three million dollars. Would he fork over twenty three million dollars. Because he doesn't like. Brian gouda kunst. When he's the most valuable player is he that cynical dominic says yes. Nothing surprises me anymore. I don't know that's a lot of money just because you don't want in. He's yucky right. I'm rick tuttle.

Yes and he had a good time and he sort of kept the out of the mix be was a wallflower enjoyed himself and he was against but there was some truth. What where did that come from. Why was that. I did that. I know the answer to this was i. don't understand. The question was slided. Lou not want the owner at the wedding. Hey is one of them fraternizing with the players. They they don't want the owners. Like cow. Daniel snyder would cozy up to robert griffin or dwayne haskins or wherever the hell he's hanging out with getting on his private jet and all that stuff. I want that you know. The general manager does not want a right or having a direct line to an owner. That's and it's a very important line of of demarcation might the everybody loves christopher johnson. He's an he's a really nice guy and everybody loves a guy at his door's always open and anybody can walk in there and talk to him and ask him anything and it's not a good situation. It's probably not the greatest situation for the coach or the general manager. Also i think there was. There was a wedding that had happened. Just happened was the zeke is wedding maybe or zelina wedding or at all. Yeah that's right. It was the anders. Lee was the anders lee. Wedding was there in lieu. Found out about that and didn't like that and said never against loose you stay in the officers mess. You don't go down. And i can tell you that show. "He ran a lot, but he just got beat to shreds because the offensive line was terrible in the organization did an absolutely awful job of putting a team around him, But that's a different conversation for a different day. Julich it Robert Griffin, The third who who didn't make it. Basically, Allen didn't make it out of his first contract. You to make it through his rookie year. He was never the same again based on one huge hit. You've got quarterbacks that if they're going to take that kind of punishment if you're gonna run qualities, many planned runs and all that kind of stuff as they do in some places right now, do we have to rethink Long these careers are going to be. You just can't get hit like that as often and as hard as these guys get. It is a guy like Lamar Jackson going to play as long as that. Just use him as an example. About Josh Allen. Bash Allen who the world gloves now and you know he's going to sign one of these monster contracts, and God bless him. Of course he should, he said. An enormous year he's turned himself into a great player. He doesn't run as much as he used to. But if he worked, that's a big part of what he does. You know what I mean? So we're taking away one of the best things he does in order to try to preserve the longevity of his career. That's the trade off, right? Are you more interested in the investment? What's the most? I could get out of this right now or from a tender 15 year perspective because Josh Allen is Josh Alan and part Because you can scramble in against the farm defensive lineman and all the rest of it right. And so if you're the bills, you look at that one way. But if you're Josh Alan, you look at it another Josh Alan, I'm sure wants to do whatever he can to help his team and hey, if I could go run here for 20 yards and I take a big hit. That's not a guy who likes shy eyes away from contact. I'm sure they've had many a conversation with him about that, Um But at the end of the day If you were him. San Francisco 49ers complain about 'sticky' turf at MetLife Stadium after injuries pile up vs. New York Jets

"Explained to me about the playing surface at metlife stadium with the jets giants, and what is the biggest concern what happened during the forty niners jets game on Sunday a lot of lower leg injuries. Some season ending injuries including one suffered by nick boasts of the forty niners defensive and I think that really changes that team dramatically to not have him. The complaints began to come from individual 49ers players saying that there's something wrong with turf that their foot gets stuck in the turf and I started to poke around the giants and the steelers played their six days earlier they had no issues with the turf. From the jets, the response was we were too busy getting our faces kicked into notice anything wrong with the turf but the forty niners had the issue they had the complaint. The League's position is these fields certified they're certified by an independent inspector they're certified by the teams well to me. That's good enough to, and because we've seen plenty of crappy fields. That have been certified certified as being suitable for play. Remember the Fedex fields shows the day they had to paint the Dirt Green for a playoff game, the game where Robert Griffin two thirds a finally went. So I I don't accept that as being positive in the NFL PA has echoed the forty niners concerns that maybe we should take a look at this. What's the harm in reconfirming that everything is fine with this playing? Surface it feels like something more than just sour grapes by the forty niners. There are enough guys complaining about it to to at least raise the question of why not take a closer look and make sure there's nothing wrong with this new playing surface. But what can you do? Can the niners refused to play the giants this weekend? That's what makes it so fascinating usually, what happens is the road team if they have a Problem with the field or not coming back for the rest of the year, they may not be coming back for eight years. If it's an interconference game here, they are seven days later back on the same field and the giants have come out strong JOE judge. Head coach said, we practice throughout training camp. We have no issues at all with this and I don't think the NFL going to get any relief I. Mean we've. Seen in the past where we're field has gotten so bad a teams had to tear it and replace it at New England at one point they had to get rid of the grass and put down field turf but I don't think that's going to happen. I. Think the forty niners will just going to have to deal with it and I don't think the NFL is going to concede that there was an issue with the turf. And they're going to go forward and we'll see what the forty niners players have to say after playing there again, this weekend,

Older White Voters Helped Trump Win; Now They're Up For Grabs

"Republican voters against Trump is Webcasting testimonials from older Republicans, voters like Joseph in Florida who say they're switching to Biden. It's okay that we voted for Donald Trump in the first election. We now seen what he conduce and especially what he can't do pull suggest more seniors are feeling this way. So NPR reached out to a random group of older voters who cast ballots for Trump in 2016. Many told us they are deeply troubled by the president's behavior. Marty Stan, Go is 77 years old and lives near Jacksonville, Florida He's not exactly the most trustworthy individual. Nor, in fact, does he always tell the truth. I definitely will throw out things that are absolutely live. And here's Doris Harrington. She's 82 lives in Des Moines, Iowa. I don't wantto judge other people, but I really don't think it's character is great, you know? Moreover, they're not my morals. We heard this again and again. A lot of seniors who backed Trump four years ago say they're really tired of his tweets. They hate his use of profanity and many rate him poorly on his handling of the Corona virus. But NPR heard something else from these voters. A reminder just how hard it is Thies days toe actually change People's votes. Marty Stan, go in Florida who thinks Trump's a liar. He's not switching to Joe Biden right now, at least For Trump. Doris Harrington in Des Moines, agrees. For all her misgivings about Trump. She's actually enthusiastic about a second term Trump even though his character might be bad. He is Supporting religious freedom, religious rights right to life. The Democratic Party are not a lot of older Trump voters told NPR. They life Joe Biden, but they think his party has moved too far to the left. This is a voting bloc that's far more white and rural than the country as a whole. And many told NPR they're troubled by Democrats embrace of the Black lives matter Movement Robin Tunnel who's 64 lives in Midlothian, Texas. Told us she thinks Trump is unpresidential and a bully, but he shares her views on race. I just don't understand this kneeling for the flag. I think that that is just Horrible and he would never do that. Trump would never do that. NPR did find some older white trump voters who say his behaviour has caused them to waver. They're giving Biden a serious look. Michael Barbone, who's on the edge of this senior voting group at age 59 lives in Odessa, Florida today. I would vote for Donald Trump. But the strength of my confidence is waiting, so it could definitely change. Pollster Robert Griffin says the data doesn't suggest a huge shift among seniors who voted for Trump. But he thinks it's clear there is enough softening of support to put Trump's reelection at risk. The reality that had happened appears to be confirmed by a lot of different pollsters. That's really problematic for him. But the polling data and NPR's interviews suggest this is one key group of voters still in play, still reachable by both sides with just over two months to election Day.
