"Looks smooth. But tom brady. On the other hand helped them out. Tom brady to hundred exceptions. He struggles against the saints during the regular season. He does he does that. Coordinator changes the coverage on him At the snap lot and thomason genius in terms they figure out what you're doing where the ball's gonna go so they fooled them big time. They played proper coverage on and didn't show it so what happens on coverage for those who don't know it looks like it's a to deep coverage on the snap. One guy goes deep and the other guy drops right down. The middle of the field will sit down and rob a thing. He didn't drop down. He stayed why'd in embedded into the throat and then he came down and pick that ball off and i saw that pretty that was the last pick and that was. That was pretty awesome. That's or out of that. So yeah in down look like was too deep that off safety took off and went to the middle but he hung there wi- and i'm sure tom felt like a hatfield safety. But as soon as you saw brady start to make that throw man. He closed down hard and midland picked. It stepped in providence. At robert coverage is a great coverage. We're playing san francisco. One year i when i was in green bay and chuck c. So picked off montana twice with with robert coverage. We in. it's funny. We didn't run that the whole season didn't show in training camp. A really weren't a big robert team. But for whatever reason are coaches saw something felt like we could get something maybe it was a crossing routes. 'cause they like a lot underneath stuff and in joe joe through into it knows it. Pretty amazing to your point. That's how our lethal that coverage can be if you run it right and you're not expecting it you know if you're prepared for a team that all runs a little bit of you still have to coach at like it's whether primary coverage is on third down. Yeah because when it shows up the balls gotta go to the outside receivers. You can't throw anything inside. You can't and we should tell a quarterbacks. I remember preseason game We had a veteran quarterback And eat edibles hostetler and we come lebanon. We're trying to throw that f. Poston ericsson you. You can't get it off soon. Not looks like it. You can't it's not gonna happen. Why is a bad. He can do what you want so he he puts that ball in there. It's a pick six back against the chargers on their forget and that safety he came all the way across a few is is picked it off in full stride and took it in so mike especially if you go ahead and take a couple steps like you'd go into the post. I mean the half the half as a safety and then dropped down. Get low in sneak down at home. It's it's dirty man. You know what he did in the game a safety this is he just. He hung back a little bit. Just backpedal backs. Tomlin rarely recognize him. If brady would recognize man. If he'd come down right away he hung back..

"They belong there. They've been there for how many years in a row. So yeah, that could be a very dangerous out. But you talked about picking up Mark Ingram. That's a huge thing. Why? Because yes, it can take some carries off of Camara. Keep him fresh. But short yardage back that he could be a short yardage back, pound those inside yards that you want. Four minutes situation four minute back where you need to close out games by running the football he can do that. And to me, that's it. But you also touched about his effect in the locker room. That sometimes was the greatest thing that a guy can bring. And it's huge. And when you have a leader in there, the guy that brings confidence builds his his teammates up. That's remark Ingram is and I think it was a great pickup. I really do. And then the shocker, right? We can get to Sean Payton and some of his decisions. You know, really, you know, getting bailed out by that defense and maybe that's why you do that because you believe in his defense. That's why he throw the ball on first down on first and goal and literally take about 17 seconds off the clock because that defense got the interception, right? They had to Robert coverage. They'll safety sees goblin coming across. They know it's coming. They jump it, you know, I mean, unusual interception at that time of the game by Tom Brady. But then, Tom Brady, you know, you know, gosh Gordon touchdown, he's selfish as hell, right? Instead of just going down so they can take a knee and put his teammates at risk, you know, trying to get stats and say he scored a touchdown and Tom Brady, they take care of business again. So, I mean, I can't follow them. They took care of business, but you know, those are the type of things that can eventually get you beat. But, you know, now that you look at these teams, and we've started to get a picture. Where does the saints kind of fit, you know, when you think about the books, the Cardinals, the packers, the ramps, the cowboys. Where does the saints fit within this mix? Well, I think they're there with them. I mean, they proved it today. But I still put them behind all those teams, including the rams packers, all those teams, because look, the bucks are without Gronkowski, they're without Antonio Brown. They're going to get healthier, okay? We saw what happened last year. The saints beat him in a regular season twice. They get blown out in the playoffs. So to me, I don't know. I don't think there is good as those other teams, but who knows? You know, the saints were dealing without like you said, no Michael Thomas. They don't have, you know, Taysom Hill. So there was a lot of guys out for the saints as well. So maybe they do belong in that conversation with the best teams in the NFC. Listen, I'm gonna go to, I'm gonna go to Russell Wilson. I'm gonna go to the Jags because I'm gonna say the best for last when we talk about the four o'clock games..

"With you on these sports leader do to hurt backing out until 10 p.m.. If you are a football dork like me, and I know this, at least one or two of you out there you love Great Cosell. You can't wait until great coastal hits the airwaves, and he did it earlier today. Here's what great coastal had to say about everything going on. In the NFL heading into week. 11 12. Are we heading into week? 12, Get the hell out of here. Break us up. Well, it's always a pleasure to talk football with Great Coast cell. And as we get ready for Thanksgiving, Greg, I went onto Twitter today and I just happened to click your name because I was reading a tweet that you were attached to. And all of sudden, all these balloons popped up. So that tells me it must be your birthday today, but actually is my birthday today, Larry. Oh, Happy birthday. Greg appreciated you sooner, but I didn't even know that until you just told me. I mean, I know it's my birthday. I didn't know anything about the Malones. Although I try to forget it's my birthday because strangely enough, the year that doesn't scenes at the end of my birthday, you know? So how do you are you a person that tells everybody that it's your birthday or like is the now seeing NFL films there? No idea that a chair everything they have no idea. No idea. Zero idea. I've never been a big like, Look at me, guys, So no, no, I don't. You celebrated all we'll leave early 15 minutes early. We have a cake. Somebody? No, no, no. None of that stuff. All right. Anything anybody anybody other than Larry gonna say Happy birthday. Well, my family does. They don't know It's my birthday. Yes, ma'am. Well, Matt Bowen say Happy birthday. Well, Sal Paolantonio say that they don't know it's my birthday. They don't care about, you know, you know how How does it feel to be 45? Greg? Yeah, I wish I could remember when I was 45 months. So, Greg, we love talking ball with you. Let's jump right into it, man. What has happened to the Baltimore Ravens? It's just the season ended today they would not be in the playoffs. They don't have brain Williams. They don't have class. Campbell. They don't have Ronnie Stanley. Wow. What an impact without those guys. They're run D doesn't seem like it's the same. Their offense isn't clicking. What is the film showing on the demise of the Ravens? Because they're not playing? Well? No, I'm having a There's two elements to this. Obviously, you mentioned it. Offense and defense. Let's start on defense in each of the last two weeks. They've played two teams in the Patriots who chose to do it and the Titans who it's just built into what they do, who played at a base personnel, meaning they did not line up with three wide receivers on the field, And they put the Ravens and their base defense and the Ravens are really, really good on Since when they can use all their detailed and nuanced pressure concepts. But those pressure concepts Larry do not come into their base defense. They come out of their sub nickel and their sub time so they've been in there based defense way more than they want to be the last two weeks, and they struggled. Stopping the run the Titans this past week lined up in a base defense permutation again. As I said, That means notes, not three wide receivers on the field, so the Titans lined up in a based in a base offense, permutation. And on over 70% of their offensive snaps. And we know what the Titans do. They just keep running Derrick Henry, no matter what the game situation is. Yeah. Interesting stuff. I tell you what there's there's one other on. I guess it's not a group. It Z just one particular individual. I kind of want to ask you the exact same question. What's up with Tom Brady? Who's he play for? What is it? What do you see right now? When there will you watch the film there, and I didn't make it through that film so I can speak to the game They just played. I think I think there's a number of things first. Well, I think they're all lying has not been very good in pass protection and Brady for the most part in a number of games that goes back to the same scheme a few weeks ago. There's too many snaps in which the pocket gets squeezed on Brady, and he hurried and uncomfortable. And we know that he certainly doesn't like to play that way. And so what's happening As I watched the tape? I think he's speeding up his mechanics, and therefore he's missing some throws he will know normally make. Um I also think in these two things now are strange to me. They're snaps in which he's not processing. I use the term eliminated. Isolate. He's not processing effectively. He's not Processing throws better there within the reading progression, and I think he's playing fast in the pocket. And then you look at the final interception of the game last week. That was not a difficult read for not only a veteran quarterback, but in a sense for any quarterback. I mean, all the Rams did was start in a in a split safety look and rotate toe one Robert coverage, and he did not read the rotation in the coverage, and we're just not used to seeing Tom Brady make those kinds of mistakes and he, by the way, he came right out. Set it because obviously is accountable. He came right out and said he just didn't see it fast enough, and therefore we threw the seam ball right into the rotating safety into the middle of the field. How is his accuracy? Been Greg? Because the Tampa leads the NFL with 28 drops, and I saw staff this morning that he's over 19. What? I'm a Brady now on throws 20 plus yards past the Past the line of scrimmage over the over the last month. So is that his receivers letting him down or is he letting them down? Probably a combination, But I don't think, he says, precise with his ball placement as we know we can be. That's been an issue of times this season and and to reiterate what I said a moment ago. I think to me anyway, and then Brady certainly knows more about his mechanics. He's he's a repetitive mechanics quarterback. That's one reason why he's arguably the best ever. But I think there's too many throws in which it looks to me like he's hurrying his mechanics and I didn't I think that's because he's not a comfortable player in the pocket right now. Too many snaps in which he's being squeezed in the pockets closing down and I think he rushes himself. He's playing a little fast. Greg the Raiders air right in the middle of this thing in the A F. C when you look it at the way these teams all kind of look based on. I know they've had an incredibly tough schedule, too, and they've come up with a six and four record through the 1st 10 games when when you look at them. Do you see them as one of the six or seven best teams in the NFC? You know, Marc, It's always tough for me to answer that question when there's a bunch of games left, But I think what the Raiders now have, particularly in offenses what Jon Gruden really wants them to be..

"This year can still get loose on the boundary it but how do you also covered Sean Watson in like as you've said his escapability how the extents place is it's going to be one of those weeks where Jonathan Jones is on the field for 80% of the snaps as you said miles Brian's been mixing in maybe it's a Terrence Brooks week if he's healthy but like all those extracts it back to they play with like kind of like they did against the Chiefs. I think we're going to see a lot of that because the weapons and the way that they operate at Tysons operate their offense. It just calls for the need for the defense to have a little bit more juice the field that's exactly where I was going with in my Patriots game. But tomorrow is that that that Chiefs game that doesn't match coverages that cover two coverages that they did play which they took a little bit against these sort of like spread offenses with mobile quarterbacks a little bit more than maybe they have in the past. They've been mostly like a post safety team obviously still but they do sprinkling a little bit more Comfort to I would suck. With guys like my Holmes and Watson and these types of players that can really beat you with deep passing last year. They ran a lot of zero ran a lot of man coverage or one Double-Double DeAndre Hopkins and off the Sean just picked out his man-to-man matchup, whether it's a running back or Kenny Stills or will Fuller caught a big touchdown in that game and he just attacked single coverage down the field and he was able to actually beat the Patriots touchdown the field. So I think that they are going to say, okay we need to be able to pass off Fuller and Cooks. We need to be able to support guys. We can't just put JC Jackson on an island and expect him to shut off will Fuller or even Cooks on with Jonathan Jones the entire game. So I definitely think that they're going to our come back to that Chiefs match up and say, you know, one of the things that worked and on top of that they were actually I'm not worried about Patrick Mahomes is a legs in that Chiefs game. Also extending plays. They had a lot of spies. They ran that double Robert coverage a lot where they had the spies and they were dropping guys off the line of scrimmage to suck. Is Patrick Mahomes? So I think that they can pretty much go with the same game plan with just maybe a little bit of that Baltimore game plan sprinkled in there as well just to make sure you get a guy like Duggar on the field has a prominent role since you didn't play against the Chiefs as much so it's a really interesting matchup. I think though because easily easy to overlook the two and Seventeen and their defense has an absolute mess, They can definitely still put up points offensively. If you're not careful. Is it going to be obviously the first thing that will help the patriots is is if Stephon Gilmore place right that that would change the entire game plan. If you could just you really can put him on will Fuller and say take him away, but if he doesn't it obviously like you said changes a lot because now let's JC when they want to go man. It's probably JC Jackson will Fuller and Jonathan Jones off against Brandin Cooks and matches speed and if there's a huge ripple effect from Gilmore missing time, but like you said the reason that they want to have more speed or even that double Robert coverage that you mention. Which they did against Patrick Mahomes is going to be huge as Watson is very good at especially when they when they spread it out and like taking linebackers and just moving them with his eyes off. It really like linebackers become horrible when they play the song Watson..

"But I, know there are broncos fans are asking that question hey, why is this one not being pushed out or postponed but that Patriots game was Yeah I mean I feel like the process changes every week you know when we see this I, you know I kind of lose track on what's what's the actual rule now, but you know for the NFL I, think what they're looking at to especially for Denver Anti Loss Andrews Book, they have no more flexibility to really move games around at this point for these teams and I don't think it's really gets up that for many other teams as well because the Broncos they. Technically already had a by even though they never had a by unfortunately the chargers they came off of a by as well, and the Broncos are already had some of their Games rescheduled ops this game for the chargers was rescheduled. This was supposed to be played. I believe week twelve, mistakenly twelve week eleven, and now it's coming up here now in week eight. So I don't think they can really logistically move the schedule around too much. They're looking at every option possible to. Mitigate the risk of potential spread and an outbreak. So that's why everything's virtual today and the contact tracing has led to those guys being. So. I? Mean we even saw this with the Las Vegas Raiders last week with their entire offensive line I think it's going to be similar for the Denver broncos and they're going to get everybody back. More than likely hopefully tomorrow they can come off that list. You know the two players mentioned slot man, the Mark Dodson, and those guys can potentially come up that list as well. So obviously, we're going to be keeping you know monitoring that situation because you know the players they will be tested again tomorrow and and we're just hoping that there's no more positives overall because this could impact the trajectory of the next couple of weeks and no question about it how about Philip Lindsey What are we expecting there? Is he going to give it a go on Sunday? Well it really depends on if the independent neurologist clears, I think based on the information we received yesterday he participated unlimited basis through individual position drills, non contact, and that's part of his demonstration for concussion protocol in return from it you know obviously, we're hoping to find out a little bit more today if the Broncos had practice, but it's going to be tomorrow when we're likely. Find out the independent neurologist is going to be able to say, okay, you're you know you're good to go. He's eysenck thematic show any concussion bay symptom carryover on his able to do as normal stuff. Then they will more than likely clear him for Sunday's game and he could play But as of right now it's still questionable but I think he's heading in the right direction. We're talking to cody rourke of course of pro football network. You broke down a loved your defensive breakdown. From from the film from last week against the chiefs and and really the defense on A. Very impressive performance overall talk to us about what that film showing you because every single week it seems like this defense is just getting a little bit better. Yeah, you know I think it really starts with the coverage. The broncos have guys that can play man to man coverage in. They're also they have very good disguise blitz packages and they got guys that can kill the quarterback i. mean you got Shelby Harris who's fighting off and pushing double teams back into the quarterbacks pocket there into his lap and you got guys like dream on Jones who came back from injury who's also taken advantage of guys and Maliki, and Bradley Chubb. Just. Wrecking havoc off the edge right now it's been nice to see for this broncos front seven they've been very impactful and the guys in the in the secondary been very good as well. I mean given the last three weeks they have fourteen action three weeks which Baltimore's on the ahead of them. So the second team right now in terms of the most Saxon last three weeks altogether, and they're really get into the quarterback they're finding ways to do it and I'm loving the aggressive. Approach we're seeing from VIC FANGIO and the broncos on film because they're showing different, they're showing his own looks. Then their blitzing they're showing man looks they're showing as if they're going to cover one or a cover two men, and then they're dropping a safety down to play. Robert. Coverage. So essentially, they show a lot of looks recover one and Robert Coverage covers zero and so they're doing a lot of different as ways and it's working out they got the personnel to. Do it and I think it's very surprising considering where we were all out a few weeks ago. But once the broncos started being more aggressive defensively started making more place and I think that's exactly what Vic Fangio's found. He got the guys to be able to do even more I think he's been able to do in his career as D. Coordinator. So how aggressive will this defense be trying to go after Justin Herbert and maybe upset some of the things he typically likes to do. Well I imagine we're GONNA see some pressure, right? You know here's the deal Tampa Bay they sent so much pressure at him and he was making throws downfield. It's all about ball placement for him. He knows how to stand in the pocket with pressure coming. He's GonNa take some shots. He's not afraid to take shots. So for Denver, they have to disguise their coverage looks and hopefully try to catch him not looking maybe try to get him off of his blindside a little bit. Or if he's looking to the left side of the field, maybe get them from the right side collapsed pocket on the interior of the defensive line since them inside linebackers blitz off nickel and have your safety cover the number two or number three guy I think Denver can disguise a lot of different coverage looks here. That's going to be the way that they're going to have to do it though if you give Justin. Herbert a clean pocket all day he's GonNa find the sauce spots and. His athleticism able to roll out he's very, very good when throwing on the run and you know I think we a lot of people talk about Aaron Rodgers voted do that if you watch Justin Herbert and called you watch him now there's a play against the new. Orleans saints on Monday night football he rolled out to the right and found Keenan now for a touchdown after avoiding pressure, he is very, very good at that. So if he extends plays outside of the pocket, it's going to. Be broncos gotTa have that coverage dynamic a little bit longer. It's going to be a little scary. Yeah. No question about it have to be ready for the how about the offensive side for the Broncos, you said, you know they really need to establish that rushing attack maybe Kinda fall back and not go for the big plays not go for those home runs as much. But what do you see some of the critical keys for the? broncos. In order to get past that chargers defense. Well, the broncos offense they're trying to find their identity still and and I the identity so far would you lock return and he's been aggressive throw the ball down but Tim Patrick very questionable to play in this game I don't think he's going to play on Sunday. That's why they call the Trinity Benson and Fred Brown from the practice squad has potential protected guys. There that could call them up on Game Day They also bring back Kendall Hinton, who's wide receiver out of wake forest quarterback previously, as well as within during training gap, he's going through Kobe protocols right now to be on the practice squad. So the broncos looking at wide receiver right now so I would be surprised at the Broncos, game plan was to come. Out and just throw the ball and lesser trying to get Noah Fan I would oak waving Jerry Judy can handle those guys go in early on I think more so than the approach is going to be, let's run the football because this Los Angeles chargers team, they struggle against stopping the run and they also struggled against stop in the past you can catch them. Inopportune situations get them to focus on stopping the run and then you hit him with the passage of the broncos will find some balance offensively. So for me I think this is a perfect game for Denver to try to really hone in on what their offense of identity may be and what it could transform into. Hopefully, we get to see the Philip Lindsey Melvin Gordon. Thing kind of go for full game we haven't got to see that just yet. But either way got to expect it. Melvin Gordon's really chomping at the bit in this chargers. He's he was the forgotten man chargers decided to move on. They went with Austin neck ler local kid. And then obviously Gordon's had a couple of rough weeks and so you gotta think that he's really mentally wanting to rise above all of it and see if he can come out with a huge game this weekend. Yeah that's his mindset I mean he he he's got a chip on his shoulder coming into this match up. He said at the offseason they felt like they just let them go. You know they gave up on 'em and so for emmy takes personal you know for him to you know he's got a rough couple of weeks in terms of some off the field stuff and then I'll see you know a couple of. Turnovers. Yes. last week for the Broncos and he wants to overcome. Now you only think a lot of people are looking at those mistakes and you see it on twitter people like, Oh, the broncos need to trade or cut him and knowledge the Broncos I think both he and Lindsey are healthy and they're both able to contribute. They have a very, very strong one, two punch they complement each other really well and. And just watching some of the film from last week to Melvin. Gordon I think is very good at finding the whole especially on stretch plays counterpoise inside zone the offensive lineman they're double teaming down on a guy going up good next level. He understands where that whole is gonna be and he gets up Phil. There's been a couple of times you've been tackled by shoestring where I feel like he could break a really long. Game. So I think they complement each other really well and I think the Broncos offensively can ask some success.

"All will be comfortable with Gilmore you know autumn those situations I think. So those robber rat one cross eyed coverages too. You'll particularly on the early downs where they might go play action to a lot of wiggle does throw that cross route eshelman are in the years past Gronkowski often play action and downs. When you get those windows create, you know opportunities in the second level that's what you have to. You know one. Cross or you know Houston Robert Coverages to take those away or even sort of some brackets and calls where you're just going to say look worry about the other guys. Well, we're going to take you know Williams with a bracket of some kind whether it's Dogar was well or even a Dev according to take him away because that's what they can stop. I Know Bala checks ammo is to take away what you do vast. Derek. Waller. Is What you WANNA take away. If they come into foxborough. It'd be you by throwing two hundred Renfro, thirty times. You'll take that you know. But if they come into Foxborough, deb lawler has twelve catches for one, forty, eight and two touchdowns. You've done something wrong that I think you're going to a mix of things but you do have to take this guy. Right and I think that's exactly what ballot check is giving new waller obviously a really talented player. But how good is at reading out different coverages where what one play guys cutting in play their bracketing the next play they have you know press. In man coverage and it's Gilmore John Williams or whatever. If you throw the kitchen sink at him, you know how many different things does he have in his bag at this point other than just using his quickness speed in his natural ability Belgium I think is going to make them think. Really just get in his head and see one is really up there in order to process things on the move and things like that rugs I. Think is a really fascinating match of two I've gone back and forth on this one in the past you know when they go up against those tyreek hill types, they put John Jones and they match you on is they speed with those guys but this? is a different kind of animal i. think than just you know I'm gonNA run a deep over or something like that and try to take the top off. I wonder if they approached rugs and see rubs is more like a John Brown type of receiver and that would be Gilmore match have not necessarily a John Jones matchup. Yeah I. Think we might see that I think you might be a situation where..

"Just a special athlete in. Here's my thing is when I watched. San Francisco's defensive line. I said this the eighty five bears. It was just this velocity losses where they were winning individual match ups and collectively. They were suffocating. I think we forget Greg. The niners star eight now then everybody gets hurt now so they're healthier again. In the middle of the season they lost both tackles there fullback George kibble they lost. They lost defensive Lineman when I look at their individual all defensive lineman on film. Do they just win battle after battle individually. They do that but they also are very good with stunts. And what you're going to see in this game. They will attack the right guard. Turner Billy Turner for the packers. They will attack him individually and with stunts he really struggles and what they do is they. They line up either Ford or both inside at times over the guard. We we saw Ford get a sack this past week where he'd beat left Guard L.. Flying for the Vikings so they they can win individually with some different fronts but they also are really good with stunts out of particular defensive fronts as well. So they're they're both good individually. The scheme was joking earlier. My kids were making fun of me the other day. I have an iphone six. And they're like oh it's so outdated and I said to my kids. What more does it need to do? I've got an alarm clock. Doc I have Greg Cosell's number I can make calls. I can get calls. I don't need it to make bagels and do my clothes right and I watched Jimmy Garoppolo. He's twenty one and five five and it used to be. That was good enough. He's good in the fourth quarter his passer ratings over one hundred in the fourth quarter and overtime. I like the kid. Maybe he's done a good fantasy. Football quarterback join. I were saying earlier. We put our arms around the entire niner organization. And we're everybody is like I don't know if I like Jimmy. G. By is telling me he's kind of it guy in big moments. What does the film say well? It guide big moments. That's always hard to know you know but Ah because then you have to look at the view individual plays but I think Garoppolo is a really strong timing rhythm player and they're not fence that's really built on that it's an offense that works the middle of the field where they predominantly throw the ball between the numbers so every once in a while he doesn't pick up and underneath defender under there are so many throws in the middle of the field so that happens every once in awhile and this past week it happened because a couple of times the linebackers didn't bite fight on the run action as much as the forty niners hoped. So that's something he'll work on. I mean you just made the point. He's only started twenty five games or something along those lines but but he's a really compact thrower I wouldn't say a great arm but he has a good arm within the short intermediate areas and they have a clear view of what they WanNa do offensively and that's what he does and by the way. I like how you point this out. As we watch that Viking defense they ask him to make throws in cluttered areas. They don't they do they. Don't ask him to throw stuff out into the flat. This is not an easy. You gotTa have the right quarterback to make some of these throws well it Scowl Shanahan. It has the best run past fusion in the League. So what happens is is he attacks linebackers. They're they're Kinda puts them in conflict with run and pass responsibilities so you're throwing throwing behind them so sometimes they may not react exactly right and then you're throwing to a linebacker who's sort of in the area and every once in a while he doesn't. There's an account for it to where he should and he'll throw a pick. Yeah all right. Let's go to our big play back to Patrick. MAHOMES who everybody in America loves who I want to make the Super Bowl. Nothing against Tennessee. But I'M NOT GONNA lie. I think the League would love to see Mahomes a lot of fun. And what's your play. Well this was early in the third quarter the Texans played a ton of man coverage and then they come out on the second intent and they're going to show man and play zone. Let's look at the play. I this was a forty eight yard pass to Sammy Watkins and like I said it was a case where they played zone but they tried to show a man look. And that's what you're going to see as we see mahomes in the gun the second and ten in the gun a lot to begin with and you can see the secondary right here. You see that Justin Reed is behind. Lonnie Johnson has has the look of what we call a one Robert Coverage which is a man coverage. And you can see there's Vernon Hargreaves who looks like a slot corner right now over the slot receiver so right now. Wow this clearly looks like man coverage but just as the balls getting ready to be snapped. What Hargreaves rotates back? They spin the coverage to what is cover over two. It's a zone concept you see to split feel safeties feel safety. There's Johnson he's what is now called the middle hold offender and cover too. He opened up to the three receivers side to the strength of the formation Watkins's on the weak side of the formation. And so now as I said it's covered to he's going to run in avoid between the safety and the corner. This is where you make throws against cover to the outside void behind the corner and outside the safety but mahomes just read this instantly and that's what I was talking about earlier. How impressive Mahomes is when he sees things because they had been playing man all game they showed Roadman pre snap? It was disguising late movement and yet he saw instantly. There was no hesitation in where he was going with football boy. That was one of the best ones you've had all year. That's a really really really good piece of video there. Greg Cosell my friend. "In Super Bowl history. The previous Wong sixty four yards by the patriots Ryan Allen that just went sixty five yards by Johnny Ecker. Truly one of the great hunters in pro football now for the Rams they begin the patriots do at their own twenty nine. I in ten why jumped the gun there were coming out of the break. Just wondering we're talking about the patriots having so much success against the offensive line of the run game against the Rams where I see him having success if attacking the smaller blockers, the wide receivers and tight ends on the line of scrimmage, and I was just asked to do they have a fullback in which they go like the patriots like to do a devil twenty nine formation Brady understanding with the first and ten and spins to the right after the snap and hands off the perk. Head over the right tackle for two. Brought down by John Johnson. Michael Brune against to the thirty one of new. England. No, I don't dance your question guy. I don't think they do not a fullback as we would figure. There's such a heavy rewired receiver one tight end team. It's so sometimes when you get a bigger fought you're going against you'd like to be able to put in some bigger bodies. Maybe even go with two tight insect. In the gun, but they treat offenses ruling from our left to our Brady as a white towel off. His right hip. He has a second down from his own thirty one. A short pass to the near side of backpedaling. Guests me 35-yard-line James white runs up the sideline the forty of New England and delta there hit by Mark baron. It's a catch and run up nine to shift to men movie offense five yard penalty replay second down. You know, we have seen some penalties. Kevin that are uncharacteristic because those are the type of penalties that you don't expect from from writes a team in this game. You know, two men moving getting a plane late lining up improperly. I don't know what that says other than the fact that is really hurting both teams Brady break huddle. Once again, he'll be in the shotgun and flanked by James white zone. Twenty six yard line with the penalty. Second down thirteen three four on the defensive line for the Rams took charge. What are in the gun moves gets truck? Grab breaks away. Those leaping chest high catch on the hash. Mark at the thirty four yard line. In New England. Brought down by the saints Joyner Vicks bringing up third and five for the patriots with seven twelve third quarter clock ticking free nothing New England. And I can't be sure on this. But to me that'll motion in from the right hand side and looked like he was gonna run a twelve yard in route the Rams ramble recall, Robert coverage. So they dropped one of their safeties into the middle of a field. Eshelman saw that and hooked up as Tom Brady was reporting the rush and put it right on great report between those two guys from his thirty four in the gun battle nine catches one. Twenty eight four man was back on third and five. Spiral pass far sideline heaters on a pass intended for holding down field at the thirty three yard line up. The Rams on the far sideline Peters is played. Well incomplete pass. And now it's fourth and five and here comes the patriot. Putting no Kevin Hogan's getting up limp a little bit too. After that play as he comes off the field to side. Nice job by Peter's Brian Allen, the punt for the patriots from left to right. There is still smoke inside from the fireworks inside the dome here in Atlanta. There's a long snap. Put it down the far side nets. And under the bright lights against his chest. Tomb is thrilled about the twenty three hit on the plane and happy Slater. But failed forty two. Clock at six thirty three here on the third New England three the Rams nothing. And you're listening to Super Bowl fifty three on Westwood One. Now, SafeTouch Security triple team traffic. Four is doing pretty.

"Meaning that he's gonna have to show a high safety and in late. He's gonna have to come down, and rob whether it's Jillian where rob gronkowski. Because those two guys you have to double team. Do you? Okay. Goal. Rob store. Like you guys off the of. So just talking about what he's saying Robert coverage. Yeah. Because they like to do a lot of stuff a lot of underneath there needs to analyze those under out. So how do you stop the under routes while you gotta have one safety come from high and take that away? So I think lamarcus Joyner is going to have a couple of huge plays. And offensively the guy who I think can really have the match up to me is going to be Josh Reynolds. I really think that he's gonna have five or six catches he had four in the NFC championship. And the reason why say because they know Abrenica's can do that guy was within last year. So they're not going to allow him to get the deep threat. Robert woods intermediate short route the Rams thing about what was the last time. They hit forty fifty are ball. We haven't seen that was the cooks one at the poor before the end of the half to qualify. Yeah. That was real the Rams the page is gonna take that away. And so that's you're not going to beat us with the big play. And that's what they gonna take away. So the one guy's gonna be Josh vernal. He's going to get that third corner. He's going to get the fourth quarter to a point where if I'm Jared Goff. I'm skiing. I'm scanning but Eighty-three we'll have to be great. And I think if he is he's my. They don't sleep well him. But he's he's come a long saying that because the Rams got a number of weapons in pecking order right in the number one guys girl. Correct. Number two guy to me is Brandin cooks, the number three, Raba woods, and that's pretty much it. Right. And then you say Josh Reynolds, he could just stand there instead on the field, and nobody seem run down there. Let's not go happen. But he's got a guy. He's got an opportunity to become the store in Super Bowl game on the office aside ball defensively what I think that they should do. The Rams is vamp. Call in defense. And I don't know if they do a lot of it. But I will run heavy to man, right? I read so much to man my eyes with pop out of my head because number one you're quarterbacks going nowhere. Number two, everything they do is inside break playing two minutes. It cover to cover to just too. Highs safeties too low guys. On top of them or nickel inside in. They play inside leverage. Okay. Putting everything in the middle of the they're gonna force you to the middle of the noting. They don't they're not gonna force today. I want you to go in the middle if they want you won't you on the outside. Okay, outside breaking rouse. They're going to trail you two guys on the top. What everybody got help it everybody. Nobody got help aggressive underneath because you know to. Hey, if I mess up I got somebody. Offensive player. How do you beat that coverage? If your office, a player will first of all, you got you going to have to run Chris routes and sound and be precise because the guys underneath you. You can you. If you get inside. They're did the moment that you get inside of the dead, but what the lousy the defendant to do is put hands on you at the point of technological screaming. Disrupt the timing of time rating again if he has to reload and cock look pull it back down by air. Donald's fakes..

"They do a lot of play action. This stuff up whether they get the yards. Tom Brady gets the ball. He likes to put the ball in the belly pulls back on me. He he does those sort of thing. So if you think that they're not going to attempt to run the football they'll tempt to run, and they may not get the yards. They get yards and other ways they get yards and swing passes the arginine screen game. Get the yards deacon Dunkin down the field. They're not a long ball home. Run hitting team. They like the methodically. Slowly, make you feel the pain in how to cash in the red zone. You just wonder if Wade Phillips because of all the things that the patriots bring to the table, namely experience on top of experience on top of experience. If he doesn't play it straight up. Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm not going to try to trick you. I'm not gonna try disguise anything. I'm not going to bring anything new because there is nothing new for the patriots and everything they just play it pretty straight up. Well, you gotta remember two years ago. He did beat them. He did he no he knows. I was there. What to do gets them? He's given problems before throws not anything. I mean, we're not dealing with. We're not Dylan. With a defensive coordinator at hasn't been around. No luck. We're dealing with a guy that scene everything. You know, they say Tom Brady and everything so see seen everything. So they're going to have to it's going to be a definite chess match between Josh mcdaniels Tom Brady in Phillips expecter who's expect who's who is likely to be the one guy for the Rams that when it's all said and done a confetti falling. We're crying and stuff because we're because he want that you said he was the one we didn't plan for the turn things for as far as offensively defensively. Go. Okay. If you go defensively, I think a guy who has to have a big game is lamarcus Joyner because he's going to have to play a lot of Robert coverage..
