"Just on the surface level because they're still going through their daily lives. The stuff that they've been fed for four years, right? It really, really has changed their thought process to where the moment they really do truly. And they truly believe even with trump out of office with no examples, 2.2 of all the things they said he was gonna be. They still believe that he was this horrible, awful dictator. And I don't think anything is that is that is going to change that. And to Mike, you know, and and anybody else that goes through that sort of thing. I mean, the ones sold us that you can have is that the people that are doing that they're like John described. They're not really paying attention. Like if they were really paying attention, and you brought up For example, trying to policy you could actually have a conversation, right? You could actually, you know, Yeah, Trump did some some really good things when it comes to China policy, and he changed the dynamic of that relationship in a way that was positive in the way the benefitted America you can have it and you could debate it. You could disagree, But you could at least have a rational conversation about it. But when they won't even listen You could tell they don't care. I don't care what Trump's China policy was or wasn't they don't care about. You know what it is. They don't care about our relationship with China, and whether not, it's good for America are bad for America. They just want their guy to win. They're watching a TV show, and it doesn't really impact them. And then their TV show Donald Trump is King Joffrey and And Joe Biden is is Robb Stark. And they're rooting for Robb Stark to win. We have the perfect example of this coming up ahead of our conversation with Jesse Kelly this piece out of CNN. I can finally feel myself beginning to unclench my job. "That is so funny not, including the movie that is so funny. Way back, they skip right over that. Yeah. That little piece of what, what do you think would be the ultimate, if you weren't speaking to someone? Higher. To be your son and perform and everything. Yeah. Okay. That's just great. So I yeah, I guess that is like the most people were like real, Elton file. That was like the thing that was mostly because I guess, I never know that he had rift or be his. They have they have been not at her ninetieth. I think it was her ninetieth birthday. And then, you know, it's Richard Madden who plays his manager, his very first manager. The guy that everyone gives credit for out John's career he arranged for him to perform at the troubadour, which is where Elton John becomes the superstar. We know him as Robb stark from game of thrones. The bodyguard. Yeah. But we know is rob star but he got killed at the Redwood. Yeah. So he plays this manager of his, and he books him at the troubadour, I guess, I didn't know that, that, that's where I'll John became famous. That was the. Seventeen seventy which was the date of the appearance, and that's where your song came from and how it went from. I mean you haven't even been to have drink. We went in there. We went by the open the door they wanted to cover, and I'm like having the night.

"But there's a scene where Tiriac Tyrian Davos and varies all talk, and they kind of agree that John generis should get married, which seems like an obvious thing that a lot of people could come up with these sort of three clever guys scenes, but at the same time, it's like, yeah. I mean, everyone. Also various man, he doesn't get a lot to do in these in these two. This is the only seen. I could really remember him being in the scene at the beginning. Where Tyrian is making fun of him for being a eunuch, which has also just kind of really like they're still just ribbing each other for this at the scene at each other on the same stuff. Yeah. Well, that's part of what I'm talking about with the show losing the plot. As far as the politicking. Because if you remember virus back in season one when our stumbles upon virus and Lyria was the guy who helped generis get to east Esso's in the first place and gave her the drags everything. That all of deniers storyline is started by a plot from various and Aligarh. It's kinda like, well, it's like reflective of how the characters were the schemers have a lot less to do sort of reflective of the bitches lie. I don't. Yeah. Which is why I'm kind of lost the shell. Like, I wish there was more scheming. I missed the skeeving. Right. It's funny. They're scheming is to come up with a super obvious, right? And John snow to get married. It's like, okay. Good plan guys. Yeah. And then the show just like okay, anyway, time for a huge writing sequence which happens shortly after this John generis get on their dragons, and do the how to dragging thing are actually the thing that how to train your dragon did way better, you know? So they write off on a romantic dragon adventure. They go have sex under a waterfall this scene as whatever as. Yeah. So the point that I wanted to wait for this to bring up to your point about John being just a wooden actor is also Clark also extremely wooden actress and the two of them have zero chemistry. I talked about this last season. Now, it was just tough to watch the two of them together because they just don't have good chops. They do think that it is helped by the fact that they are aunt and nephew. Maybe that's why they don't have a lot of sexually as well. So maybe one now that they know it after season two, maybe the wooden like the octopus and the tension between the two of them, more understandable. But but them that scene with them by the waterfall is just so tough to watch because there's more bad performances of. Yeah. I mean, I think that's one of the big fundamental flaws of the show is that they just did not do a great job of casting some of those key roles as specially in contracts to like Tyrian, Peter Dinka, choose incredible and Dabo's. And so many of the characters are really good Arjan Sanford, both just knock it out of the park every time their screen and for the two key roles. Danny and John to be just like such a like, so many notches below their co-stars is just disappointing. And really I heard I can't remember where I heard this that Richard Madden who played Robb stark was up for the role of John snow, and I have never thought of him. I just saw him. Robb stark. But then I watched that show bodyguard that was on Netflix. And he's incredible in it. He's a really good actor. And it's kind of like what if they'd maybe? Yeah. Oh, yeah. But you know, what if that maybe he would have been it wouldn't have worked for other reasons? But we've got the Jon snow and his nearest Gary. And that we've got so hey agree that their chemistry is great..

Jackie the growth of of the the the white Walker army like similar to the growth of the does not started just a couple just a couple of kids, you know. No attention to everyone. Everyone hundred thousand people watching no one hundred percent. Also, I have a theory that like just seems like so obvious that it's not even a theory. Because what is it? Everyone wants to know who the who the night king is and people are like is broken the night king like no You don't fucking. fucking it's area. So the tar Garin Syjuco is everywhere when they did their thing. He's able to ride a dragon which only target areas you can do. Yep. Even though that's not as convincing to me. Because if he changed any sort of ammo he should be able to ride at dragon or not the dragon instead dead so LA, but then also just logistically how could that be Aries because like he died in king landing. I know. But like, maybe it's the spirit. Also, you realizing they watch it back like the Lord of light is legit as hell. Oh one thousand for. I think he's got Sandra the second meltdowns, Sandra put readily, I know put gantries blood in the fire Robb stark died. Oh, not even that. But first of all he broke the Lord of light brings people back from the dead. Like can can your God do not get him the seven. Can they do that? He kills only like he has real tricks up his sleeve, you know, there's something which it to the Lord of light. And like the fact that fire is what's so important in in killing the white walkers. There's definitely a correlation between the mad kings like going crazy and saying burn them. All. Right between that and the white walkers. I don't know with brand hord him into like be only being able to eat into only being able to Sabourin them all because like he saw something in a vision. And then things got twisted. I dunno ran with Zoe angsty. I can't. And I really like Jamie Monastir like with just like being a good person..

"But only for a short only for a time, you'll be by somebody younger and prettier than you. The king will have many kids you only have three. So because it in if you go back, and you can take a look at. Is going to little do. We're going to deep dive at all. Let's do it. If you if you go back and look at some of the trailers in the last row that they're released you'll notice that in that trailer Sirsi was drinking wine. But if you go back to the end of season seven she had turned down wine because she was pregnant. Yes. She's coming. They'll you know, she had a kid coming. But if you go back and watch the last trailer, she was drinking wine. Gone. Yeah. Yeah. At least me to be that she's ends up miscarrying, or, you know, still birth whatever the case may be she the the kid doesn't she doesn't the kid. So it would get injured grounded. They keep her as much as much as you can keep sir cigar, but the kids at least tether her a little bit to reality. When she's when she's kid 'less watch out, you know, and I remember back in season two when the head when they had the the battle at at the blackwater that blackwater she was in the throne room with Joffrey was about ready to give him was a milk of the puppy. No. She's ready to put one of those fucking things with an cool lame. Yeah. Yeah. She was ready to she's ready to poison regular Palmer's healing agent. Is it a healing? Yeah. Honest. I believe here's list to to numb the pain. Yes. Yeah. Because even when Robert was when after he got stabbed by the boar that will bring him with the pup local Pompey. Just like it's like a hallucinogen in a liquid form. We hires a kite. But yeah. So she would give them tears of whatever you just list. I think that's what it was called. Yeah. And that was issues right about to give it to him right before Taiwian rides in there saying we have one. And so you see that to say, you know, even Sirsi has this this moment of clarity where she's like outta rather us all die. Yeah. Then for my son to go through this this torment. It's about the halfway. Yes. He would torture. The kid the Agassi with absolutely to slaughter everybody. And there was no reasoning with standards. Now stands was was not somebody to be reason with he's a force. He was a blunt object. Yeah. He was he and he had believed that he was the rightful king. So there's nothing to stop him. Everything was doing was right. Absolutely. And he felt he was the prince that was promised has told that he told that's true. While we're talking about that son of a gun name status. I have to tell you. What was what was his? I'm trying to remember the names what was his followers name with the fingers cut off. Oh, like, Davos salvos. Okay. I'm just trying to remember guy seems to jump from king. King the king. I digress. You know, I was excited when standards find a guy his because I gotta tell you. That was a rough was the toughest I I don't think I've ever had an episode of game of thrones. Right. I have a hard time watching again, even the red wedding. I went over to rush the red wedding multiple times. And I remember the very first time I watched the red wedding. And I was like oh my God. This is insane. To see, you know, a pregnant feed is being stabbed and just go through massacre the entire stark name that wedding and all the stark men, and that was very brew thing to watch. I was lucky that I didn't catch any spoilers because the red wedding was complete. I thought Robb stark was the euro the show, and I went I literally screamed at the holy fuck. They slaughtered. "Most people know actor Richard Madden as Robb stark in the HBO series game of thrones to multi wing winter is coming for him. Now, he's the star of the Netflix show bodyguard. Playing Sergeant David bud. A police officer who stops a terrorist attack and is assigned to protect the UK's home secretary. I I was was enough. enough. So he's killed nearly go kill myself awa- nothing. Politicians cowards and liars. I was in this total Nevis Joe for the blood unite colossal dommage, the show is nominated for two Golden Globe awards including one for Madden as best actor and Richard Madden joins us now from Los Angeles to talk about it. Richard madden. Welcome and congratulations. A lot of people. Probably know you best as Robb stark. But what attracted you to this role in bodyguard? Am I think we'll really going was kind of on beauty of oh, the Cuttittas the eleven such agrees on ovum was good and what's buds of each of them? And and the scripts kind of plays with idea throats it, and that was something that should be exciting to find them Ovidi human on their motives on the mood of changing throw the shoe thing that was really exciting. And it was kind of it was a brilliant read. And that's what drew me in because your character in particular. You're you're a hero. But at the same time, you're you're doing a lot of things that maybe you shouldn't be doing. Yeah. You can he's he's a hero and these Avila n- undies he's damaged and he's really strong in these protector. And these victim, you know, these kind of these brilliant contrasting things well at and one of the things that this show gets into which is very topical right now is the idea of post traumatic stress disorder PTSD, which is something that. Your character suffers from after time serving in Afghanistan, I want to listen to a scene from the first episode when your character meets up with.

"So she is a very abrasive politician as you making waves and the main kind of interesting dynamic years. She's the one who sent Robb stark to war in Afghanistan. And now he's home and he's tasked with being her bodyguard. But he and his war veteran buddies like hate her. And they've always kind of said like, I would murder anybody. If I ever got the chance anybody who sent us over there. Yes. Now, he's gotta be your bodyguard also plot with they star fucking which actually is my main gripe with bodyguard, I thought that they just like did that too fast and wedges it in there the whole numbers. I really like he's white hotter than she is. It didn't really make sense physically or like literally like professionally why they would have started fucking all so quickly. There was a build up where it was like, oh, there's some flirting there. And then the next episode like you accidentally touched her leg. And then all of a sudden, there's a spark and some in the be shit where all of a sudden, you know, they're into each other. It was just like overnight. They were fucking like episode to they start. Banging, and I was like what if it had come after he saves her life, right? Because that is a a foreign thing gala factor or something like that fine. But it was just like they start banging right away. And I thought that really got wedged in there. I liked episode one episode to Arizona in one shot a one though, I twenty minutes. Right. They they came in so hot this shows to me. Also absolutely episode two totally stunk episode three stunk until the end, and there was like a plot to be honest like fell off after they're the it gets it gets. I think overall I give it like a c- because it wasn't entertaining. I don't I don't regret my time. I spent watching it, right? But if by the end, it is if Fellag it was five seasons of television forced into one where it was. They need all these storylines. It was it was crazy how many storylines there were. There was like they were parts of the end that really wouldn't. They're tying up all the loose ends. They were the major player in all it was when most of us boil of it because I think everyone is listening is watched it is by the end of it. It is corrupt police officers power-hungry politicians deep state. Jihadists and major crime all on played a role in six episodes that it was pretty quick. It was like how did all of these people get wrapped up together. This is to you should on one of the time like every fucking season television doubled. Everything you got right. You go one bad guy this season. Right. And then be you could have done. You bodyguard could have been several seasons long. If I would have been good if you flushed it all out, and then as much like the sex, the relationship, aren't they just legend it all in there. And and tried to wrap it all up in one shot. I of bailed on bodyguard pickup homecoming homecoming from the producer, the creator of mister robot, which makes a lot of sense once like I didn't know that until I was a couple of roads in and then it makes it a lot of sense. It's very psychological and wacky. And like off the same way mister robot is a robot, by the way, she's one was one of like the best seasons TV and to kind of carried it. And then after they got a little weird after that. I almost feel like that should have just been like maybe a meeting series just done episode one and tied it up a little more. But if you haven't watched Rami Malek and and season one of Rhys robot, like drop everything go do it right now. So it is Julia Roberts as. A psychiatrist who's participating in.

"You can't. See everything that's happening. Just really enjoy it. So if you enjoy Japanese food or food of related media at all there's always like a central dish. But then it's always around characters and like different stories kind of reminds me of hamming maintenance in that way. So if you like that sort of thing where you have recurring characters, and then, you know, new people coming in in cool little side stories it's worth checking out. Just a really nice peaceful show. I just Google it. While you're talking about Devendra if it says here on vice midnight diner. Tokyo stories is a hidden gem on Netflix. Here's a series to watch. While you're waiting for new high maintenance episodes. So yeah, there you go. There you go. So the show is midnight diner. Tokyo stories. It's on Netflix. Right now. Check it out. Jeff cannata. What have you been watching? I've also been watching a Netflix series. It's called bodyguard, and it is a BBC imports onto net. Flicks. Evidently was a massive hit. Yeah. On the U K. I mean, there's like seventeen million people watched the final episode, which I guess that's the equivalent of like eighty million here. It's just a huge percentage of the population. And it is on Netflix. Now it stars. Gosh, the guy who played Robb stark hundred madman. Yes. And this was a show. I had recommended to me my several people. I I'm I'm a bit of an anglophile. I liked BBC shows, and my wife, and I sat down to watch the first one, and we got immediately hooked we watched the whole thing. And I think three days which isn't saying a lot of twenty six episodes, our episodes eight but for us, that's intense. It was a quick pace. And we just. We we would stop an EPA we'd finish an episode and we turn to other. We have intense conversations. But what we thought was going on. And there's a mystery that is presented and lots of information. It's a very dense show. I should say what it's about is about a politician. Well, I should say it's more about a a law enforcement officer who gets promoted because he does something pretty dramatic gets promoted to be a bodyguard for a political official. And then as a result gets kind of pulled into this crazy plot and intrigue and doesn't know who to trust. And there's all kinds of craziness that goes on. This is a show that starts at eleven and then goes to twelve and thirteen in subsequent episodes. It is. It is crazy. It's intense it to show where you I never feel safe. Anything can happen. Anybody is fair game in the show. I wouldn't put anything past it. We would have these wonderful conversations, my wife, and I at the end of episodes of like, what do you think? Oh my God. Is that even real it is it who's where we who's what's going to happen next. Do you think that person's gonna be dead? I don't know all this stuff. It's it is I found it's very pulpy. It's very over the top. But this is what I wished. And I know I'm gonna offend you guys when I say this. But this is what I wished twenty four was going to be. Ooh, I did not care for that. That was that was exactly the show that came to mind when I watch. Oh, jeff. Yeah. Yeah. Which which I watched the first episode of bodyguard, and I found it to be extremely silly. "Thin it right infringement James Earl Jones and Richard Pryor. It's about a negro league team from from the fifties or the forties actually in. It's an amazing movie. Two other ones league of their own the women's face when movies, very good. In that. And you're angry. And there's a movie this is not on the best baseball, maybe this. But it's really good. We'll explain a lot to you about what it's like for a person to come over here that doesn't speak English. There's a movie called sugar that talks about eight that talks about a baseball player. Who can't I think he came from the Dominican Republic and how hard it is to assimilate. Yup. So there's a couple more. Can you not go with major league may first Asia? Because my first major league is very very good. Yeah. After that forget you job not as much fast track. All right today. People magazine has revealed that the sexiest man alive is address Elba. John to you who is the sexiest man alive. This is an excellent question. All right. Let me think if Lisa was answering. She would say, and I don't even know the guy's name. She would say the guy who played Robb stark on game of thrall. Yeah. Swimming. I know and I've told the story before when I went to Italy right about ten years ago. I was taking a boat from Lake Como to Bellagio. Yes. And the guy the captain comes over the boat. There's probably about fifty people on the boat, and he comes over the speaker. And he says the yellow awning on your left is George Clooney's villain and every woman. I'm not kidding. No matter what age ran to the left side of the boat and the boat tilted to wow. He said and the men may want to run to the right side. So we can balance the boat, and he told me every time. So I think the answer. So I'll go with and by the way, inter Selbe is a very good choice. Oh, it's a great choice. But I would go. I'd probably go Clooney. How about you kinda weird? It means more coming from you of it's kind of weird for me to say it. So I don't I don't actually want to say, Bradley Cooper, bud. Faust chat. All right. The website. The big lead head an article last week claiming that chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has passed Steph curry as the current most must see athlete on TV. Wow. Now, Mahomes is great. And I think the warriors are the most see team on TV. But isn't LeBron still the most must see athletes on TV I've now done I think ten of his games and he's only one four, but I still can't believe the thing the guy pulls off two hundred seventy pounds. He has no body feet of a ballet dancer, even when they don't win when he crashes and burns, and they lose its kind of fascinating for you. Who is the current? Most must see athlete on TV. Well, because of the scarcity of NFL games, you know, help here example staff plays eighty to Mahomes plays sixteen. Mahomes is pretty damn electric. I kind of agree that Mahomes. Come tonight. I'm a home at I'll say Todd Gurley. I'll say I'll say the Rams, but I think Mahomes is nothing says he can throw the ball one hundred yards and he can throw it on the run. So a play is never over until the ball hits the ground the pocket. Pretty he is pretty good. But if you haven't watched LeBron play a whole game yet. It's like he can score anytime he wants. So how that ends is interesting. Does he give it up to saving get one of his other teammates going? Does he go to the rim? Where almost always gets fouled. Right. Just to see if they're going to sell it. Or does he dunk on top of people say, it's it's really fun to watch. No, he's he's amazing. And by the way in person something else. It's it's crazy. It's crazy Chaco damore night. All right. So the big Christmas tree is up here in LA live. They're building the skating rink. Now. Here's the question too early for Christmas. It is November the sixth is a too early for Christmas..
