Dean Cain on His Journey From Trailer Park to Princeton to Hollywood
"So dean, your life has been so fascinating. So I wanted to ask you a little bit about just kind of your journey before we talk about more of the news stuff. I saw that you spent some of your childhood in Michigan and then in California. And in high school, when you were in Santa Monica, you were excelling in sports, and you even played some baseball with Charlie Sheen and Rob Lowe. Is that correct? And what was that like? It's mostly correct. I grew up, so I grew up in I was born in Michigan, but I moved to California when I was three. My mom up and took off with her two kids. Her first husband was my biological father. It was not an ideal husband, was philandering and so she left and came out to LA to be an actress with two kids to the Asian kids. And we looked more on my given name as Tanaka. So she came out here with us too, and met and fell in love with my dad. Who she married a year later. And then through a really terrible story actually, a woman was raped and I believe killed in an apartment next to us or right near us. And then the next day myself and a couple other guys, my brother and another couple kids were out playing cops and robbers as they used to back in the day. And I was the youngest and so I wasn't able to have I didn't get to a gun. So I went looking for something and I found the real gun and it was apparently the weapon that was used and that day my dad borrowed, I don't ten, $12,000 from his parents in South Dakota and moved us to a trailer park in Malibu. And I grew up in a trailer park in Malibu, which sounds, you know, like trailer park. Yeah, but it was in Malibu. So we'd spend our days outside all day long on the beach, running around, and I grew up with kids like Sean Penn, Chris Penn Rob Lowe, Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez, all those kids were just, we were all just part of this one little Malibu group. I guess all our parents were involved in the business, not all of them, but in some way or another. And so through this weird happenstance, those kids all ended up being actors. Now I played baseball Charlie for a long time. Rob, rob was never the great athlete. Rob even back in the elementary school was just all the girls loved him and he's so pretty. And he loved the girls back. So that was the that was the skinny and rob, so to speak. Charlie very good baseball player. Played on teams with him forever. And then went to high school, Santa Monica high school. And I was a good athlete student. It worked out real well for me. A lot of the kids are madly when they got to Santa Monica worked able to compete at that level, unfortunately. So a lot of the kids stopped playing sports, Charlie continued to play for a while. I don't even know what he did to seeing it if he played a scene here or not. And then I was lucky enough to with my grades and thank you to get the president of the university, had a wonderful career at Princeton. Grew up a lot turned into him and went from a boy to a man there and played very well. I played football. I mean, football ran track and I played volleyball. And then I got a chance to play for the Buffalo Bills afterward, which was great. And got hurt right away. And then it's been acting and directing and filmmaking ever since.

Doug Talks Hunting and Songwriting With Neil Thrasher
"Admit, only if you've watched some video today, the mounts. Where do you hunt mostly now? Oh, gosh, I hunt all over. Let's see. Hang on, let me fix this. Sorry. I hunt here. I've got a farm here. I go down to Louisiana a lot. I got a buddy. It's got an eye on it on a Mississippi River. I went to Illinois this year. I went to a few different places. Getting up with rob and damn it in Illinois, have you? Rob. Rob hatch and Lance Miller? No. Their place up in Illinois. No. I haven't got that invite yet. I'm barely, you know, I hadn't been able to go. It's pretty wild. I got this place up here. It's pretty wild. So hunting from a songwriter perspective. Sitting in the stands, sitting out, you get ideas when you're sitting there. Very rarely. Whenever I go home. Really? I'm like, I've checked out when I go hunting. I'm all about it. Hey, look, once I go through the gate, I leave Nashville behind. I mean, sometimes it happens. And sometimes you'll be sitting there, if it's a lull or whatever and it's and it's peaceful or whatever. I mean, I may, I may go to a go to a song, look up a song on my phone and maybe work on a verse, maybe, but not usually I don't. Usually I maintain with the Woods.

"I'm not doing any pictures. When I do an official pics, but my gut says I'm still gonna lean Celtics here. And then we're gonna find out on Tuesday that rob rob's gonna come back by game three. And then everything's gonna change there too. That would be sweet. That would be. If there is a game 7, probably we'll be playing the timeline. The timeline is interesting. I know that got talked about again today, rob's outlook in terms of timeline. He may sing three weeks, three weeks is possible here. He said, you know, javonte green came back in that time frame. Yeah, we're two weeks in now. Three weeks, you're talking the middle of this series. Now the Celtics don't expect rob to be back, but they're not closing the door either. They're kind of hinting that like, don't be shocked. That's the interest here. Yeah. There's a little catnip they're putting on. They don't want to put it out there. And anything beyond three games people are going to be like, where is he? But there's a hope. I don't want to freak people out either. I'm actually kind of I'm kind of bullish on just the way they've been talking. And again, I mean, this is how we read the injury. The way they were talking when he got hurt, I was like, this doesn't sound good. And everyone's like, shut up. But like the way they're talking now, it sounds like they're really like seeing them in the gym. Yeah, they're like, I think we're gonna get this guy. So like, you know, you might do a vlog you can. What do you mean talking about? You might need apology, cancel. Before we were all things that you. And I think it was bad. We were this is John off more than saying he needs to. There may be a posh. Jimmy. He's probably in place first round. John may have to do an apology. These things have nothing to do with one another. You understand, right? He's here at tactics. You realize you realize we were scared because I thought, oh my God, this is bad. What if he tore something and he did versus he'll be fine, he'll be back next game. Yeah, no, you're right about that, John. Jesus, what are we doing, guys? John was worried that we would never see Robinson. Jimmy's trolling. Yeah, yeah, he's low key..

"Works really good together. So I don't know if you want to do like that all start thing they did with the hawks were like all 5 guys get credit for whatever. I think all 5 were all stars that year on Atlanta could 5 guys through the defensive player of the year, probably not. Could you have code defensive players of the year in Spartan rob? That's probably a little more fitting. But unfortunately, you get the defensive players of the year. I don't know if you're going to get that, but Rudy's probably just going to win. At least that's what they're saying. Yeah, again, it's almost like he's just kind of has the right. Yeah, exactly. I think that would be his third. Rob's rob's time is coming though. Let's be honest. Rob rob's got years to go here and I mean. Well, no guards won it since 96, Gary Payton, so it would be really cool if smart one. I'm ruined for it because that would be a great story. Almost a feather in his cap to his career. I mean, he's not going to be an all star. He's not going to be an all NBA guy. He's got a couple of defenses, but you all of a sudden put a defensive player of the year trophy on your case. Yeah, I mean, I don't think he's I don't think he's there. Smart? Yeah. And defensive player of the year. I mean, are there odds out there right now for these? He's not in it, rob's in it. It's a big bias for sure. But I do think if you have a guard who's gonna do it, a guy with the reputation like smarts goes a long way because everybody in the media, what do they say, the heart and soul, one of the best defenders, blah, blah, blah, blah. So like normally, a guy like that would be flying under the radar, where it's smart, you know, he's got the media reputation. He's got the great reputation around the league for that part of his game. So he's going to do it if anybody's going to do it here. It's just do the Celtics get a guy because of how many people are involved in their defense and rob smart probably splitting the vote a little bit on there. And so I'd agree that probably not going to have a representative and that a word, but they're the best defense by far. And I'm sure they'll roll with that and be happy with that rather than any individual words email I saw today climb the ladder coach of the year. I think he was third in the athletics. We saw a third. Okay, I thought I saw like maybe fourth or 5th. Invite him might have been fourth, but we're using that top 5. So he's in that conversation too. Monty Williams. Who else did I see up there? Oh, kid was right there. Yep. He deserves it..

But he doesn't actually need is the big he's like they're near the trees like i don't need the pig. He nance him but not for the rights. I don't need them for the. And so you have all of that. So this whole again it's like the slow unraveling of the complexity of this movie is like again so like we. We now know. He's looking for a pig. Here's actually need them to find truffles. You just wants his piggyback right. He wants his pig and then who he clearly loves father coined kind of dick about like i'm into threatening to be here. Good editing powerful wa. I need a cigarette after after telling the story yet. It's just like it's really powerful. It's really it's a. It's a thing that i didn't really like like it's again. It's not really the way like if you just think that like the whole time he's been looking for the pig the biggest debt and it feels like this thing that would be in a normal storytelling movie. Like yeah other is going to feel like i feel like an eighty normally find the pig rescue it. There'd be like some like her roic like some kind of something where he found or found a clue or whatever. And i think that like but even to just go to like the extent of like like it died immediately look died as we were like stealing the pig is this like storytelling thing that i don't. I don't know it's just like this total gut punch that is like more than just like we killed the pig org leg. It's like this whole pursuits everything. It's all been for nothing which to me. You know, like you need to you need, you have to you got a hedge, your bet on a guy like Rob that they either believe he's going to be something and they gotta pay him now or off the price goes up, you know and then then you got to trade them which I think they might trade Rob this summer John. I felt that way since I don't know this summer. I don't know. Especially you tonight. E p e. I went and we know how Brad feels about him. You know Brad Brad has a certain perspective on Rob know, it's awful, man. He was all pumped up from the beginning. He was all pumped up about what you do with Rob, is you sign him, you gotta roll the dice, you guys and presidents Jolie. So he could release Rob didn't have the power before. Now he does love BB the whole time, you sign them and then it's a trainable salary but you don't let you know, you don't trade them now. For nothing like to trade him now. Nothing for him. You know, he could, you have Consolidated, stay here, you know, combine him Thompson. What are you trading him for other than a pick? At this point? Why would you want them around this? Maybe you can find your guard. That way I can trade for him. Salary-wise is going to be a bad gonna suck. Yeah there's no way you can do that. I do yeah. Bobby's wait for the next is a real chance. He's gone next summer, if they do what your trade is, Rob, is as a, as a sweetener, as a centerpiece of a trade up scenario. You're not trading Rob for like an okay. Point guard to come in and be that your Band-Aid pointer, dog staying. Yeah, I just don't think you want to lose him for nothing. All at the million. Maybe you do in the end get a discount to the degree that you can keep them after another, you get home. I just recently paid off In whatever the hell they have to do. That's selling the song. The biggest problem is you need to renounce everybody to get bill in the door and Rob's a free agent next summer. So you can always do something. He's restricted next summer. Yeah..

"Media. Also what Americans need to know about the red hot real estate market. Plus why twentysomethings are dressing like their grand parents. And the return of company talent contests will have that story in about 20 minutes. Well, is social media fixable. In the beginning, social media promised to connect us to existing friends help us form new relationships and as a result Don't make us find happier lives. But Tech analyst Rob Enderle at the end early group says the platforms have gotten away from that, opening the door to governments, finding them into obsolescence or treating them like utilities with heavy government oversight or even government control or ownership. What's the problem with social media? Well, the big problem that they've got is the disconnect between who their customers are and who their users are. Miss in this industry, this kind of an old saying that says, if you don't know is paying for the service, you might want to find out because they're undoubtedly doing something that you don't want them to do. And that's the case with social media, the folks that are the customers or the advertisers. And the people paying for information about U S O the folks that want you to buy stuff. You don't want to buy folks that want to manipulate you to do things you currently don't want to do. Those of the folks to their Facebooks customers, and it's not the user and up and the end result is. That's why social media is kind of gone off the rails with regard to fake news and bias and All the nastiness that we see on the on the services. That's because they don't care about the user's because the users aren't paying the bills. They only care about the customers and the customers. Want all the data they can get about you. It's it's kind of like a Macro issue with our differences who goes on with Fox Tucker cars. Carlson is the top rated show but is probably the most biased program currently on television. So that so that, But it's what people really like seeing even though even though most of what they're what they're hearing and seeing is false, and that's That's what's creating the problem. The people that want toe Take advantage of us that want to take stuff from us, or are the people that Facebook's catering to write and same principles for Twitter and Cora? Yeah, I'll I mean, even even core is getting that way. I for some reason, I ended up on a conservative feed on Cora and the amount of just total garbage. That was coming through encore on that feed was Was amazing. I started complaining to them and they took me off the feed. But But at the end of the day, this dissemination of false information that's creating problems for people getting vaccinated. Um, you know, causing people to attack the capital making people believe that elections were false. All this Excuse. The term Bs is it's very attractive because the people want to believe that stuff are drawn. To engaging on it and then talking about it, But the issue is, of course, is doing the nation. I should say Nations. Ah, great deal of harm because people are making decisions on false premises. And those decisions aren't in their best interest or speak with Rob Enderle principle and founder of the end early group we're talking about fixing social media. What would you put in place? If you had a chance to, I think I think they should. I think people should pay for the services that they use mean if if Facebook is valuable to you, it ought to be worth you paying money and then and then the end result is in turn. Facebook should then curate what it is you receiving? So that you're at least getting the truth. You could certainly make your own decisions. But where the where the accuracy of the stuff you're reading is Is made available. I mean, they're trying to do that with regard to notifications, but those notifications they're very uneven. At the moment and the blocking and the rest of it they're doing seems to be uneven as well. You'll certainly see certain individuals highlighted and blocked, but then other individuals pop up and started telling the same false stories. And so the and so it's not. It's more of a case of the social media sites trying to make it look like they're doing something but really not trying to fix the underlying problem because the underlying problem is generating revenue for them. Thanks Rob Rob Enderle principle and founder of the end early group. Coming up next buying and selling in this housing market. Does learning a language feel like this? No, I'll blast manual Averil. It's hablo. It's all blow when.

"Get, man, keep it up. It's one of the best shows anywhere coldly no 855 to 1 to four, CBS Well, I'm glad to be here with you holding it down on. So Amy Lawrence takes over at the top of the hour, but before I roll out I'm gonna take more your calls. You're here. You want to talk? I'm going to leave you hanging We've been having a conversation around Russell Wilson. The guy did not go scorched Earth out of it. I think he's too polite of a guy. At least for now. He's 32 years old. The man has had a winning season. Every year. He's been in the league. I think he's only missed the playoffs. One time he's setting himself up for a Hall of Fame career, He should have two Super Bowl rings. He's been one of the best quarterbacks over the past 20 years. And now Speaking with Dan Patrick yesterday You pretty much said Yeah, He's frustrated with the amount of hits that he's taken. He said he would like to have more input and the personnel decisions moving forward. Like, Hey, I got to play with these guys. I should have a little bit more Say so. I'm not mad at Russell. This is like the most extreme thing he's ever said. There's always a good guy. Always good soldier never says the wrong thing. Team first. Rob Rob Rob! Models will give him pom poms when they come out Gold twelves. Yeah, he's there for the Seahawk fans. I'm not mad at him. But I also don't think that the Seahawks outside of some bad play calling, I don't think he's been in the position where they've just like taking him for granted. I think it's a matter of circumstance. The team went to Super Bowls. They had to move forward with Russell as the primary focus and not their defense. They had the weight on some success. Now they have some offensive weapons for him to throw the ball to now they have to get the running backs together. Figure out who could go out there. Replace Carson hide. Do a better job at the front end of the line. But then him himself. He also has to acknowledge Look. You can't just just back up 15 yards and expect the world to always work in your favor. A two way street. What do you think? Have the sea odds done him a disservice. Get your calls them before I roll out, court says is calling from Baltimore. What do you say courts as they are? Hey, man, I think for the most part is much too doing about nothing like you said, But I did, uh, focusing on one thing. I'm damn Patrick. Shortly after the Super Bowl is asking this man some questions and got him a little emotional. He any kind of shot out, but I think he really was. He keyed in on one thing, and that was, uh, a free agent. You don't hear a lot of association with the Seattle Seahawks and getting those guys to come in to play with Russell to help them win. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He watched the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When I don't got free agents, these guys want a big time, Paige did get a lot of money, but it came to play with Tom Brady and they want a Super Bowl, and I think that's what he's talking about. He just wants some say that he's earned it nine years with his record. At the winning the Super Bowl and not seeing it again after what happened with the You know Patriots thing, but he deserves the opportunity to say, Hey, I like this guy. I like that guy. Bring this guy in great. Bring that guy, Haines said. I want to be in a draft room. Lot of offensive line is stepping on his foot. And I made a quick 15 yard past becomes a 34 year passed because you have to drop back 20 yards to give space to potable. Oh, yeah. I mean, he would be frustrated, too, And he didn't mention money. He just want to win. Okay. Well, thank you. Court says for calling up from Baltimore. Let's go to Matt in Ontario. Matt, you want CBS Sports radio? That hasn't gone, so I'm good toy. I'm totally with Russell Wilson. I feel for the guy like you've done nothing but wind and she's got the Seattle I think for him to speak out now. And say, Hey, I'm tired of getting and I think Seattle has to look at it and say we should probably get some more help on the yellow line because Great. He has receivers to throw, too, but wants to get upset when it became at CAF. When you have to throw from 20 yards out of the pocket, we need to do something that doing some sort of support. Yeah, we know he needs help out of that backfield, man. We know that is a definite Matt. Thank you for calling from Ontario. Let's go to Mobile, Alabama talk to Perry Perry on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, Perry. What? How yet? Not here. Matt in Las Vegas, you on CBS Sports radio. They are. How you doing tonight? Terrific. It is tragic that this man has been sacked nearly And times average for every year he's been alive. We're gonna take a split that in half half on him, perhaps on the team. It's also very smart man. "What's happened, Rob? Rob with pork? All right, Jenny, I don't know how you felt about the Super Bowl halftime show. I'm I missed it, cause I'm here. Okay. Okay. You're actually telling people you're gonna actually have to fill me in on that? Was it awesome. I liked it. Twitter doesn't seem to like it. I thought he killed it. That's just my opinion, but on the field and they are about the players, anyway, we're about to take the field here. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a 21 to 6 lead over the Kansas City Chiefs Tom Brady, adding to his Super Bowl record with three first half Touchdown passes that gives him 21 in 10 career Super Bowls. That is nearly twice Joe Montana's 11. That is just mind boggling. It didn't go so well for Patrick the homes in the first half. Behind that makeshift offensive line. 65 are actually 67 passing yards. That was actually far fewer than the chief's 95 penalty yards run game, Mostly Mahomes. He has 33 of the team's 57 yards on the ground, so they will need another comeback. That's how they won the Super Bowl last year. They'll need to do it again here. If they're going to upset Tom Brady and company on their own field, The Wizard's continued their slide earlier today they lose in Charlotte, 1 1997. Badly deal with 31 points. He bounced back from that horrid seven point performance on Friday night, but still five and 15 on the season are the Wiz. And Georgetown. They faded late down the stretch. They fall to third ranked Villanova, 84 74, the capital's defense, big collapse here in the third period, They lose the flyer 7 to 4 that is now three straight losses for the caps and again. We are back on the field a big run to start for the chief, so they're trying to come back here. It's a 21 to 6 deficit for the Chiefs in Tampa Bay, and I have to be quite a comeback, right? But again, they came back from double digits on the way to the Super Bowl, and even in the Super Bowl last year, so this is not something that the Chiefs are foreign to. But Yeah, not over. Told so. They didn't play Tom Brady in those games. Exactly. Rob would go up in there. Yeah, Rob wood for W two would be sports. Thanks. Straight ahead, Traffic and weather together. Here are five.

Certain things like long haul stuff. We're not ready with infrastructure yet. I mean, if if if you're talking about, you know, federal semi truck or something that's delivering long distance between cities. We're not there yet with with infrastructure, and so that could be problematic, depending on where you were going some freeways. Do have adequate charging, but that is what they're set up for cars and I do not trucks right now. In fact, I don't know for you charge a semi showed up so the so of certain type of vehicles will fit up man. Mail delivery vehicles, for instance, would be ideal use of electricity. Do be aware, though, that right now our electrical capacity is or it needs to be for broad deployment of electrical vehicles. The government alone another is gonna put it pushes over, especially since they can charge and deep and depose that they themselves set up. And assure have power but the But if, as this moves to the general population and other businesses of we're gonna have a real problem with the fact we don't have enough electrical capacity right now to handle the load. I never considered that meaning What I Yeah, right now, But you're, uh, I think we could handle of last night's about two cars for residential street were okay her street for street anything more than that. On Do we don't have enough capacity. And what happens when you when you get too much, uh, too much draw on a transformer. The transformer tends to fail often catastrophically so that so the So it means like your old self. Everybody in your neighborhood turned on all their lights, every electrical plans. If they've got the capability and so and so it kind of exacerbates whatever energy problem you have, because it's causing it. It's resulting an extra load when you don't have extra capacity. What it would certainly be ideal of people left their cars of home. I had them charge during the day were where they got the excess capacity left of the work. And had them charge during the night where there's excess capacity, But then you'd end up with the car in the wrong place. So that so practically speaking, we're gonna have to increase capacity a lot and Green energy capacity is problematic because solar panels when most people want to charge the cars are at night. And as we know, solar panels don't work at night. Wind power can work into the evening. Hey, listen down. Real quickly on this boy. You are front and center in the news right now because of this decentralized healthcare component of what you guys doing medical technology. Component. Give us the top down just over all of the vaccine on how the failures are probably because of centralized healthcare versus decentralized healthcare and what you guys were doing to get involved in. I think so, You know, we're being Canadian and the operating features really being conducted in Canada. It's a little bit different when you guys were experiencing their butt in that, you know, there's a limited number of vaccines. Yeah, and I think and I think part of this thing is is you know, I think at a time like this, don't you rob that The medical community and the rest of us patients are gonna start adopting it because we sort of have to because the existing medical system is bursting at the seams, right? Yeah. I mean, you know we're seeing the catastrophic effect of the pandemic, but the reality is what we're really seeing is the infrastructure issues that we have in present model. And regardless of today, being a pandemic, or just a natural evolution of health care in the depth of healthcare. We needed a new solution and this is accelerating that that application and I think we have the solution. It's it's not just good here in Canada or in the U S. But, you know, As I said in a previous show, we're looking at Bangladesh. We're looking at India communities and countries where it's an even bigger problem. I mean, from a practical point of view and a business point of view the tour different on the practical side in the operations in the first quarter, we're rolling out heavy with respect to the technology. And you and I talked about just how utterly absurd this was. You gave us the whole background on why they were even named the rebels to begin with. And it was all on the up and APPA had nothing to do with racism or slavery or confederacy or the South or anything right? It was named after the pope. Who by Ron Kali, who was deemed a rebel because of his actions for good as it related to the church. Yes, and so why they've decided they need to change that. Is totally just woke. It's just the thing yeah So this is what we finally found out where earth ray blue streak was coming up because somebody just founded on the show walgreens and there've been a lot of confusion speculation about where that was going to land because i will point out that to this very day. Hasbro has technically never officially acknowledged earthrights. Blue streak exists. Oh well what what. They never announced it. They never talked about it. It just is. It is but they've never technically promoted or revealed or acknowledge that there and sorta of strange. Chris is not too long before this we were talking about exclusives. T-Mobile CEO on fighting the scourge of robocalls
"Mobile's event was all about fighting scan and robocalls. We've got CEO Mike Seaver to talk about it. Rod Chang, and this is your daily charge. Carrier, events are generally when you attack. The big annoyances are wireless service. So what are you addressing with today's news? We call them pain points and we've done this sixteen times before. Can you believe that and we're taking on today? One of the biggest pain points ever in this industry, which is Robo calls and scams, an unwanted calls and I'll tell you what this this is huge. This is the number one complaint to the FCC Can you believe about eleven? percent of calls on our traffic were blocked by our technology just last week. I mean this massive fifty. Eight Billion Robo calls were placed last year in two thousand nineteen. That's eighteen hundred. A second and people are being robbed. robbed the these are crimes. They're being talked out of their money. Ten billion dollars estimated lost last year from this and it's getting worse. I mean this is just awful, but this is the way criminals are. They're preying on people during this pandemic because we've got fears, people are losing jobs. They're looking for jobs. They're interested in their stimulus checks and other things and criminals are preying on all that, and so it's gone up and up and up through the pandemic, and it just has to stop, so we're launching this major initiative today that we hope like the rest of our own carrier moves in the past, the rest of the industry follow suit, and we can really make progress against. Essentially these criminal elements that want to steal from tens of millions of people, and so let's let's dive into it Scam Shield. What is it? What? What are some of these other programs that you are offering today? Well, it's a comprehensive left to right solution. Because one of the things we've learned is that it's this issue is too big and too complicated to solve with any one thing. At the centerpiece of it is scam, idea and scam block our breakthrough technologies that are network driven. Hey, I driven to identify calls and block them, and we're making them better already just in the last three years. We've blocked. We've blocked or identified a scam, likely twenty five billion calls, and so we've got a head start on this, but the thing about it is. This has gotta be. Be Thrust into the public consciousness and people need to start participating in order for us to take it to the next level. You ever get those calls those scams, and then you go into your phone and you block them on your phone. The truth is that doesn't do much good now with the Scam Shield. You'll be able to go into our APP and with one touch block. Block that call or essentially report it to us, because it's not just the ten digits they called with. Because as you know, they randomized those they call with new numbers every time that tells us to investigate the source of that call, and so with the feedback loop from tens of millions of customers using scam shield, our AI driven network technologies will get better and better and better. Better at identifying and blocking these calls for you and already we're thirty percent better than anybody else in the industry. So this is just taking it all to the next level, so let me let me stop you there just just to get some clarification because I know some of the stuff the other carries off horizon. You know. Todd touted the fact that they've stopped six billion calls. Fundamentally you all use a similar system that's one that's mandated by the FCC to be rolled out by the end of next year or sometime next year. So what is different about this? In what what? What is new exactly in terms of some of these I know some of these services like the caller ID feature had been offered in the past. So what is new? What is different from the rest of the industry? Well, let's first talk about scam. ID and scan block. What's different is that ours is network based, and it's for everyone on the network literally. Literally speaking, and so it doesn't rely on a certain rate plan or or APP or having something installed or paying for a feature, which is exactly what verizon offers which is seven dollars and ninety nine cents. A month seven nine hundred dollars a year just about in order on their most popular plans in order to get the best levels of protection. Protection which aren't as as much as we're offering today for free, and and honestly as an industry. We need to do better than that. We you know this is. This is an issue that the carriers are helping to bring to customers. I mean their own networks are bringing you these scams and yet they're profiting from technology. That might be proposed to stop their. Their own technology for bringing you these scams that's crazy and so part of what we do with on carrier moves as we call out industry practices, sometimes practices that we've participated in the past and said look, this is a pain point, and it's gotTa Stop So these technologies at T. mobile or not just better because they're network based and don't rely on Hap. But they're free, and we're not going to charge them. Including as you mentioned caller ID, which is now free, t mobile. And as you mentioned being made better, that industry standard technology talked about stir shaken is basically a pool database of being able to see not only the name of a caller which is important if you have caller ID, which is free now, but that it's a verified mobile user and not a call center, or a robot calling you, and that's really important information for you in order to know, you can safely answer the phone. Google Stadia Launch Review
"Reviews Google. Stadia are out one day before it launches for founders on Tuesday November nineteenth and the consensus is works better than expected but still not quite good. Enough there's some noticeable lag which is not a problem in slow paced games but may or may not cause issues on shooters just depending on how. Oh sensitive you are to it. Ars Technica Kyle. Orleans said it worked fine on Ethernet for him but was inconsistent to the point of aggravation on on his wife anyway. most Oh said it kind of feels like a Beta Verges Sean. Hollister said it felt more reliable than similar services. He's tested but does not compare to a high end console or PC DC and and gadgets. Jessica Condit said I wouldn't play any of these titles competitively on stadia but the services find enough for a relaxing evening. If you don't remember. Google Stadia has upped it. They added some games. So they're gonNA have twenty two games at launch for one hundred thirty dollars plus ten dollars a month plus twenty to sixty dollars per the game. It's interesting the the whole sort of like okay. It's not snappy enough for competitive gaming but it's totally fine and for a fun relaxing evening. Who are the people who want one and not the other Yeah it's very of course I mean mobile gamers I guess sure. Yeah I mean I would probably be one of those people who's like I don't i. Don't care about the snapping -sarily if I've got like three games that I like and I wanNA play a lot but just I wonder what you know. WHO's going to be diverted from from from getting Google stadium knowing it's a little bit sluggish? Yeah well even if it doesn't actually apply to them it's kind of interesting because it will diverge personal me like I. I actually do game and and that Noel Second Response Response Time is important. But I don't know if you remember but I was on when stadium was announced and we we had talked about one point and I'm like Joe Streaming Guy it's been doing doing screening for years and I was amazed I was for the Beta was amazing because there's just a few people on it but I was amazed by the sort of overall. Let's just go out there and do it attitude stadium. It's hard like that stuff is hard and in and user managing user complaints when users really don't understand like how streaming is affected by all the various the pieces between the server and your game controller. They were. They're taking a huge gamble Microsoft by lake coming forward. So it's it's it's going to be kind of interesting. This is the same crowd. Yeah that was like complaining about that season. Game of thrones being too dark. It's like well. I I think to answer your question Sarah Anybody who games on an older other xbox or playstation especially if the playstation three or xbox three sixty which there still are some people will be fine with this that. I got a peek at it this weekend and my feeling was for me. It's fine like I'm not a competitive gamer. I'm not really attuned to the leg. So those of you who are competitive or think you you know your competitive are going to notice it. I imagine most people aren't what's a bigger problem is what ours tecnicas Kyle. Orland pointed out. And that's to your point rob rob which is there something in his Wifi that caused issues that he didn't see an Ethernet and a lot of people are GonNa say this doesn't work. It's your fault. Even though it may be the router setting or their equipment or something else on their network slowing it down because there are so many variables there. Yeah Yeah. It's I think eventually chilly. They're going to work this out. I mean this is the same problem net flicks at very very early on. That's true stuttering and all this stuff so so getting those. CDN CDN's in place and they've got the got the bucks to do it. So
