"Show. What was that llamas in both screens. Bob how you doing pal do their second. What's going on guys. Hey listen. I don't know you well enough to decide whether or not to use a good thing but i am excited to see how this goes. Bob you're the topic of conversation at least for. Espn for us a source of information to cover this week. The green bay packers official men joy minicamp becoming the eyes of every football fan because errands. Not there. what's jordan love. Look like we all agree. This is not jordan lavas fault but man. He is in a position where everything he does is going to be. Scrutinized what were your thoughts and takeaways from packers after being boots on the ground. This week bob. I thought we were just gonna tell. Aj hawk stories. I got a whole list of my favorite. I was writing okay. We will definitely get to that. I hope one of them is doing karate and jim. Because we have video of that as well. But bob your thoughts on on mansard camp and i can't wait to get to that as well. Yes so it was like you know the jordan love show right you've been in plenty of mini camps and training camp practices. And i've been doing this for twenty five years and for twenty five years. They've always done. The quarterback wraps the exact same way whether. It was my congressman. Mike mccarthy mike schuermann whoever as the coach the starter takes the first four or five reps. The backup takes the next three or four. The third stringer then gets like two or three and then they start over and over again. At the top there was a stretch where jordan love at one time took sixteen snaps in a row. Then he took the next period and snaps in a row. Yesterday the last day of minicamp they ran thirty. One play as a team. That's eleven on. Eleven and jordan love took the snap in of those thirty one place. I mean he he threw. I think it was fifty seven passes. No i'm sorry seventy acids this last three days all of training camp last year. He threw like sixty four passes so he threw more castles in three days this week than he did in three weeks of training camp last year. Okay what were you. What were your thoughts first day. Not so good. A little bit of pressure. I assume he was told by the team. Hey you're going to get all the reps basically here day. One day to play cbor does we did find out. Hit somebody deep down inside day two. We look good. Do you think there obviously like. Hey this is what our team's gonna look like if this is how this is very evident you think. Yeah i think they had to. They had no choice They had to throw him and see just how he handled the full work. Load as if as if it were you know september ninth and they were getting ready to play at new orleans. Three days later. I and we asked the floor at the end of the scale. The playbook back did you hold back lot. He said no. He threw everything adam. And you're right. The first day was borderline disastrous. The second day was borderline amazing and the third day. Was you know somewhere halfway. In between which i think is just what you're going to get with a young quarterback. It's been so long since we've seen a guy or really had to judge a guy coming in off the street because in my time here. I basically covered two quarterbacks bar and aaron rodgers as far as like the whole offseason goes. I know aaron got hurt and there was some brett hundley in there for a stretch. But not like this right where it was an entire offseason of watching another quarterback and you know two things one you take for granted just how good aaron is that how easy he makes it look and then to just how hard it is for somebody to come in and learn from the start and just basically start over at at the ground level of quarterbacking. And it's really hard it. What was the atmosphere like out there. I know you've been to a million practices. A million mini camps was fake enthusiasm. I have it was weird. Aj because as you know like during the mini camps in the past state. Have they'd let fans lineup along the fence. You know i don't either street there and this there is no fans there This time it was typed up so it was kind of a little bit dad the first day and you know when when a lot of was struggling it was a little room you know there are some grimacing going on but then it's jersey hit I think it was. Aj dylan on a thirty are wheel. Route down the sideline the second day. There was a little bit of a buzz. There and as each completion went on and on and on and he was starting to fling the ball down the field. There was a real vibe in there and a real energy and it actually felt like one of those night training camp practices member. Aj when mccarthy with practice under the lights and things would kinda get spirited almost That's what that felt like. At one point of their tight ends coach just out and took his playing card and started. Banning was doing this. He was fanning off as i don because he was on fire a bob. I love the thought of you covering the team talking about those night practices and then. Aj in the middle of those practices dying with all the intensity there. oh yeah let's amp up the intensity. Yeah this is great. Okay we're gonna we're gonna die out here just two different sides of one particular practice. We're talking to rob demovsky. Espn nfl nation reporter for the green bay packers which has been the entire story of mandatory minicamps. Basically tie schmidt owner of the packers as a question for you bob after mark murphy set everything about how he thinks. The fan base is kind of divided on the rogers thing based on your twitter..

"I just got a text. He's going to do there. We apologize what's up to my call. Who is the voice of wwf. Late last twenty four years but also cool dude massive massive knicks fan who massive mets fan massive sports. An cool guy. We'll talk about obviously a relationship. But nick the stanley cup handler. I don't remember. do we hate or like that guy. There was two of them and the one we met wasn't the main guy the main guy i think his name is phil pritchard. The guy we met was like a substitute backup guy. And i don't think we loved him. He was a little little full of himself. Yeah and. I don't think i don't remember if it was odd or the entire the entire environment. We're in didn't appreciate what this guy was all about. But i think he was potentially trying to do. His thing is gloves on white gloves. Full suit. He carries that day kerry they have had a head handling then he delegates bullshit work other handlers but they carry that thing around after it gets partied with after the stanley cup. They prayed that thing around different places. I think in canada obviously and everything like that. It is well manicured that lord stanley cup. Hey pat a calls coming on but do they. He stays with the whole time right so when their party and with it isn't he always inside of the cup his is he in that fountain. That lovie was swimming around them. I would assume he's lear but do they make like have to sign. Nda's like something. Hey you can't speak of anything. You see kind of parties while the hockey players i from what i've been told they do have a good time and i've heard that they have good stamina in what they do as well and they might even add enhancements to enhance their stamina. Going through things alleged. I'm just saying i've heard. Some are alleged. Some not some have been caught in documented. But i believe there is a potential iran. Right we're not going to get in. But i guess they are a stimulant community from what i've been told to go. They lay to while they're partying. I'm not saying in hockey. Because they get tested. But i've heard whatever their party and having a good time they're going so i assume that uptight guy that we met with the gloves he would have to see some things and with lord stanley especially with the way canadians down and russians and everywhere that thing. What a life for that guy. Probably a lotta. As if i guess he'll write a book at one point our buddy guy. Something happened but we're going to learn a lot from the handler joining us now. Ladies.

"Missive from mark murphy from the president's office from the top of the flow chart him saying that it's had this is divided the fan base meaning that have been great question rich and and and my initial response is why in the world would he bring that right like live from a pr standpoint. Why would you even acknowledged that that was my initial spree action and that sat there and thought about it for a few more minutes. And i said to myself. Oh maybe he did it as a way of sending a message to rogers that hey you know the one thing i know you care deeply about is your legacy here and what the fans think of you and i'm going to send you a message that hey not everyone is behind you in this and and to me that could be the only reason that mark murphy would do that in that forum unprompted right. It was male weekly bail or monthly mail. Back column and the question wasn't even about Aaron rodgers if i if i remember correctly it was i. It didn't even address. The situation and murphy used that as a jumping off point for to make the statement that the situation is divided. The fan base To me it was either a really weird odd. Pr move or it was a genius. Move if they think that it's going to help sway rogers to let hip though that his legacy is maybe in jeopardy. I think i told you this when i was on your show last time That you know the reaction around town from from what i've experienced is definitely split and there are plenty of people who say well if rodgers doesn't want to be here you know. Forget him. there are other people that say they should fire brian. Good echoes fire. Anybody rogers wants by her and and then be done with it and bring him back There's a yard sign a down the street for be. We use the data sportscenter piece a couple of weeks ago. That that some guy putting his yard at said aaron comma go pack meaning. It's a it's a twist on the go pack. Cheer basically telling aaron. Go pack your bags you know like. That's that that is the one yard sign that i have seen. I'm still waiting for So bothers to pop up in my neighborhood. But that's the one that i see on a daily basis. You sure the saints fan didn't put that there for week one seriously like like there's a reality here also had a big package flag out his front porch so Jared goff's coming to town in week two for the opening monday night. Or and let's not forget. Jared goff You know Has been in that building before. Obviously with aaron donald on the other. You know On the other. I guess unit but i mean he's been there but i guess you'd be be careful what you wish for my last question for you then Rob is. We had andrew brandt on the show. And i'm sure you know andrew and he and he had a front row seat For for many years In the packers front office and he if anybody knows about the culture that mark murphy is keeping going on with gouda kunst in the role of ted thompson he would know. He thinks that the packers no chance they trade him and that is going to be faced with the late july decision and in early august decision of either show up or or sit at home and it's jordan love and you know we be terribly disappointed But maybe then we'll trade you in twenty twenty two but enjoy sitting where you are. Is that really the the the way this is going to potentially gulf. I think there's a decent chance at rich. And here's why if you trade him now There's no real difference in the value that you're going to get trade him in february march or april of next year combined with the fact that let's say let's use denver's example. Let's say it's random to denver right now and denver's probably got a decent team as long as they have a quarterback. They probably win. What ten eleven twelve games. Even with rogers. All of a sudden matt draft pick is in the twenties right. Yeah you're picking twenty five from that pick that you get in the trade Whereas if you wait until after the season denver has another five win six win season and you make the trade before next year's draft. Now you're picking in the top ten right with that. Take that you just acquired for him. So what's the incentive at this point t to make any move. If rodgers is dead set on plan always not gonna play for you then. Why moving right now. Unless you're getting another couple of stud players but at that point. That seems really unlikely. Rob appreciate the time man. Enjoy the rest of Of camp. I appreciate you giving us. The exclusive three or is accounting of the punting portion. As you know that speaks to my near. There's our shot. There's are there you want to read out the tweet that you put up there for us. There it is there is. Jk scotch kicked a punt that rookie third round pick amari rogers fair caught at the five airlines live wanting up excape. Include you handle two right. Now they're throwing routes on air which means it gets no defenders in the red zone and Jordan love and blake. Bortles are throwing at one time and the to Kirk ventured and they have a trial. Quarterback are jumping in and taking the next up so we we should be get close to actual eleven on eleven and and i will provide updates as well as the trial. Quarterback is named fat barve. It's really odd. Wait a minute. Thank you for laughing at my dad. I appreciate that. Thank you rob. You take care that's been goodhart. Demovsky look forward to rob's tweets and like an hour and a half..

"You rob rich. It's actually not over. There's one more practice on the sideline right now watching punting drills now. This is one more day of practice. I hope i hope nobody goes crazy. Because say down upon to the one yard line about ten yards away from me right now. Let's let's do this. Chris brockman can you. Can you do this Live tweet. Through what rob is about to tell us about putting rob what is happening right now. Let's we're going to live tweet this and of course give you credit. What's happening right. Hunter jake punter. Jk scott just kicked a punch that rookie third round pick amari. Rogers fair caught at the five yard line. I so does that. Mean that scott's he's at a regular season postseason quality and that. Rogers is also needing. Maybe you don't fair catch something a five yard line. You gotta let go like how do we. How do we interpret this. Is it good or is it bad. Yeah let's let's leave the interpretation for when we get the actual live eleven on eleven Offense versus defense. That we can scrutinize every throw jordan. Love like we have the last two days so the only thing i can tell you. Is this matt. Lafleur is currently standing in the end zone talking to davante adams Who's basically been just chilling out for the last two days. He's been here. He's been doing some work off to the side but it's not actually done any Football has not been catching any. Footballs from jordan. Love or any other quarterback this week. Okay so The tweet items are what you told us about. Jk scott and amari rogers and then the fact that that Davante adams in matt lafleur talking in the end zone right now. Those who tweeted hurriedly currently speaking with each other. Chris please put it out there right now on at richeisenshow and and make sure that we include rob demovsky twitter. Handle the tweets are up. Go go that's it. it's called going viral and being current So we are in the middle of all this. What is the takeaway from this week. Rob demovsky i in part. It's business as usual right rich. Because none of us expected aaron rodgers to be here and of course. He's not and it's business as usual in the sense that we were going to scrutinize everything jordan. Loved it because this is really the first chance we've seen him to be. Qb one and tuesday was a pretty much complete and utter disaster and yesterday he was in the hall so somewhere in the middle today. You know we'll see what he does what they go. Team periods here in about a half hour forty five minutes so But i can tell you will be charting every throw just like i have the last couple of days and then people will be on twitter for saying it's practicing helmets and shorts in june and no one's hitting anyone which is all through every bit of that is true but it is again the first time that we're seeing somebody who based on the tea leaves potentially being read with writing on the wall you know could be the guy okay. This is my twenty fifth year covering this team and for twenty four years. They've done quarterback reps one way in green bay. Whether it's been my congressman. Ray rhodes like sherman. Mike mccarthy or matt lafleur last year they always do at the same way starter gets the first four or five reps then. The backup gets the next three or four reps then. The third stringer gets the next two or three reps that worn by the way signaling the end of the special teams period of very good research. And and then. If there's a fourth quarterback maybe he gets a rep or two however this week jordan love when they go to a team period takes every single rep on tuesday. At one point. He took sixteen straight snaps yesterday. Longest re Period was eleven straight snaps and then blake bortles. Came in and got like two or three. And then Kirk ben kurt. Who's there other quarterbacks and camp out like one. And so i've never seen them in my twenty five years of doing this and i would assume This is not the norm and other places around the league. Either of having one quarterback take ten twelve fourteen. Sixteen straight snaps. That tells you that they are crashed coursing jordan. Love right now to him ready just in case they have to. I mean especially since you know you you you know in your twenty five years you've also just like the rest of us have never seen an entire season where somebody could get some reps Didn't because there was a pandemic. So i mean and that plays a factor in it but obviously a fair rogers were here The reps would be divided so much differently and it would probably be a more traditional ref cow You know even when even those years when brett farr would skip many camp the last couple years of bike sherman they would excuse him and aaron rodgers was a rookie and a second year guy. They still didn't do the reps. This way So i i just think it's incredible to watch the workload Back and look at my notes last year from training camp and jordan love for fifty five passes in team periods over the. What was it about three week training camp last year. If i remember right he threw fifty five passes in eleven on eleven drills. I'm not talking about this stuff where they're working throwing it in the nets off the side. I'm talking eleven on eleven football in the last two days he's thrown fifty one passes So basically all of his work. The last two days is equal to what he did. The entire training camp last rob demovsky of espn espn nfl. Nation reporter in green bay joining me here on the rich eisen show and jordan loves media availability. I thought he handled himself very well. I thought it's just what a tough spot for him. And the the sound bite that everyone's talking about him saying he's one hundred percent gonna be ready for week one as if he's going to say also you know One hundred percent regatta soil. Myself like fifty fifty. I'm not quite sure you know. I mean that would have been the sound bite but to me what he said a few lines after. That is what jumped out at me. Saying like he was brought here to play quarterback. And i'm like yes that's the point that's the whole deal so what what is. What are you hearing. What are you and your colleagues talking about. Maybe pulling somebody from the the packers organization aside what what is the scuttle butt if you will of..

"A. it's a great day in our neighborhood. Good to see over there. Chris brockman how are you sir. How are you. Mr del tufo. Mikey date along appreciate that. Tj jefferson how are you sir. I'm great did you guys knows how bright the sun was this morning by chance. Yeah i actually was going to say that because my condo. Yeah this is. Sally was like noon at about eight this morning. Heavy drinker was last night long night. Or i didn't know if presumably a slush this day or something i didn't know about some was high up and bright young for ten days for ten days prepping. Well you know what it means. It just means we've got a great three hour. Rich is the sun. And the the world orbits around our program aware that in the basketball world kind of revolved around the sun last night. Halo ladies dropping. tj jefferson. It's like chose the middle key. All else done. He did not all Do we is it. Is it like a no hitter. Do you talk about it. you don't talk about it. chris. Paul's halfway to the western conference finals already had the injury and he played through it estimates. Talk about like an and he's the maestro like they're not he's not that i mean he's he's a crucial component here but he's he's not like the maintenance shop that they don't demand that he's the main score he's number one on the call snapped. Correct us enough to take the game over like this is setup for heh like this. Is it for him. I mean. I know. I'm i'm punching the clown big time right now. Because he's halfway there. Everyone here in los angeles california where the sons higher. I guess in a shiny today. I didn't notice that. I mean Like but i mean we all know. It's it's been difficult slog for him to get to that third tier that third level that third Part of the. I guess chessboard as he's making his way to try and checkmate the rest of the league. But two for two and the nuggets look like they're missing jamal. Murray they've got their mvp but they they look like that. There's you know there's looked like they're trying to hit that. Third that third gear fourth gear fifth gear. Just not. they're they're they're they're they're they're missing. And maybe just maybe. Just maybe this is the end of their ron. Obviously they do have the mvp. And i'm sure that will be very special moment In game three. When i imagine there's gonna be a presentation of some sort in front of the fans there in denver f shortly right and we didn't even really kinda hit that yesterday because we were too deep and talking about short shorts and long shorts with jalen rose. That videos done very well. Yeah so But nikola yokich was Born into this league during a commercial break you see that video did yeah. I'll put it was during a taco bell commercial like nba draft coverage. We do it all the time too and in on. nfl network. Once you're through the first round. And i i guess what would you say. The second round. The nba draft is akin to a fifth sixth seventh round draft choice. And the and the nfl right. Fix kinda fourth even like at the top of the fourth round. The top of the third day. We're still doing pick by pick coverage but once we get towards the end of the fourth round the top of the fifth round. We stopped doing the. Let's go to the podium. Let's hear it right here right so the second round of the draft when the nuggets round the clock they went to commercial break and you saw the bottom line. You know drafted into the league banned it would become. Mvp so can't count him out but it does look good for the sons right now. Man does look good for your phoenix and he ran away with the mvp that you said the one vote. From derrick rose was the fan vote. The new yorkers man will definitely stuff a ballot box. But it's too bad because you know the top. Mvp candidates throughout the year. They all got injured. Lebron james and steph and embiid embodied steph curry all these guys went down so you see. That's why they got one vote. One vote even though he had just as good as statistics. He did the previous two years when he was the writer of the mvp. So you know this was kind of yokich is award to lose down the stretch. Now he's been tremendous. You can see amazing. he is. He's one of the most skilled big man in terms of passing and shooting that we've seen such a long time and they're about to get slapped by the way that was an outstanding analysis that i'm greatly appreciative because my only one was. Hey did you see was Drafted during a taco bell. I'm glad you've built in the the necessary blanks assist. Thank you no problem. They are not literally dropped. The ball there But yeah making shots. Michael porter jr. Junior's a little dinged right now like they. Anyway i get swept. I just don't i mean i could see them losing the series that i can't see them not winning a game so you had the night off tonight. Not so much i did. Like rico was recovery. They're very you know all right tonight. tonight not so much clippers back action. The that'll be fun. Can't wait to watch all the teams that might get swept. Walkie better do something tonight. This is it. This is all their whole season already. Know hard out. Could you imagine the nets sweep the bucks without harden they might of ourselves is tonight is will just cancel the season. This is big time tonight. it's beggar game. We'll talk about more of it on. The shows. Nets bucks clippers jazz this evening but as you know we frequently have a quite a bit of nfl on.

"You think timing is everything in this business. Isn't it and i guess the last one for you jordan love. I mean i i when i did. Harry have aaron jones on the show a couple of weeks ago. I asked him like what about this kid. You know and again. He said that he's a good teammate. In a person who aaron jones as well and that rogers he sees them coaching them up. I mean this can't be like this camping like let's trade up to draft kid. He doesn't dress it all. And then all that's addressed of him is the guy we've pissed off to put rodgers in the role of far and this kid in the role of rogers it's crazy. Yeah what is going on with him. The one thing i will say about rogers is unlike number. One parv said it doesn't say anywhere in my contract that i have to mentor. Aaron rodgers will jordan jordan. Love that treatment from rogers rogers Definitely was good to him from what we could see It's a hard spot. The two people. I think that are in the most difficult position. Here are matt floor. 'cause he wants to win right and he he knows his best. Chance to win is with aaron rodgers right jordan. Love is the other guy in the most difficult spot because their plan rich was the bringing along slowly And not play twenty twenty one and he would be. The third stringer rookie which he was And then he would be the backup this year and was going to be a slow education and now that education is massively celebrated combined with the fact that there were no preseason games last year. Training camp was incredibly short. There were no onfield workout. So it's almost like when they showed up yesterday for. Ot as it was almost like jordan love was a rookie going through all this for the first time because quite frankly he didn't go through any of this last year so It's probably another reason that they brought blake bortles in to help you know jordan love and don't forget like i mean just because rogers if he doesn't show up and is it the quarterback for whether he retires traded and whatever It doesn't necessarily mean love is. The guy blake bortles here for a region mine. I guess th there's the other one who's in a tough spot and that's good at kunst. Obviously you mentioned rob the to there on the field. I mean i imagine. He has no intention of trading rogers. And it's going to try and play this thing out. Because i imagine there is no sense at all from mark murphy. That may be getting rid of go to kunst will can actually fix this. They will choose the organization over rogers if it comes down to it right. I said this on get up this morning. From what i was told murphy within the organization has you know reaffirmed. The fact that to is staying he is the general manager and that no matter what is not going to change and of course that would piss off rogers as he drives an sees. Titletown that General managers don't build titled towns. I i do fazli. Rich drive by rodgers house on the west side of green bay just to make sure there's not a for sale and i can tell you this that i did drive by yesterday because it's near the gym where my kids. Aau basketball team practices. So i go by there like twice a week and every day i looked to my left as i pass it and there is not a for sale sign. Okay yeah then it looks lived instill right. I mean it's not the the launch taking care of. At least i'm sure well it's gated and offense has a arpanet so i quite all right let you know if i if i see a century twenty one or whatever signed up rob. I appreciate the time. Look for my call. We'll keep chatting. I really appreciate it. Rob thank you. Thanks rich. That's rob demovsky. Calling in from green bay wisconsin right here on the rich eisen show. How lots to unpack there. I there's one thing About that chat. That leaps out at me and i'm gonna let's take a break. I'll come back. And i it's about the concept of aaron concept of aaron going to stay because he doesn't want to be disliked. I wanna hit on that when we come back on the rich eisen show one. "Him about making a business decision and a smart one. That's all you're saying. Michael you so you you you think in thing. Aj rain all these guys plan on the same team. S you go. We'll build a super smart. That's one way to keep. Larry fitzgerald active. I think don't you think fits would have to say i have to be the fourth man here christian kirk with five wide receiver set. What do you think that would be. That would be unlawful. Stinks was crazy about. And why i say. It's a loss what- rich because they're all big guys with different skill sets with different gifts than games. So it's a whole football field or your company. Andre hot and goes over anybody here catch any ball anywhere anytime and he can play in that slot. Aj green is great at transitioning in and out of touch man could make and julio jones get just flat out do anything he can just flat out lie. So you're not duplicating even though you're duplicating great size with all three of them. Oh my gosh. We shouldn't even have this conversation. I it's like it's like treason. have they compensate regional. All those guys irv. I love you take care of yourself. Thanks for the call miss you you the best absolutely man but quit. Listen is trying to take this. This julio dissing the cowboy thing like the cowboys. Y'all got to stop that man. That ain't true. That was until julio knows if he was with the dallas cowboys. He's knows. Oh my god his name. I see planes fly closest sky. And just right. Julio jones and just keep going and he may be so high in the sky if you put that kind of talent with the stone inside is held me it will be in if there only was An amari cooper photograph with you and julio jones that he could instagram out saying remember what we talked about But unfortunately i take care. Let's take your that's michael. And julio jones and deandre hopkins deondraye already teamates with aj green and there's urban smile their irv says they were not talking about all playing together one day just about the business of the business. My favorite part about this is jalen. Ramsey sang relaxed. He's already knows he's got to cover one. "Right away. Okay good no sorted up. So he knows julio's above reproach rightaid fine and bad or julio but but so so as he said on nolde how to talk to a brother no well but he definitely called him up to troll on the cowboys. That was the purpose of his phone call but he also did now. i mean the obviously. It's not the first time that he i'm sure. And julio jones have spoken in the past few weeks he. You know he also said you're gonna stay in atlanta and he probably knew what the answer to that is going to be. Certainly ian rappaport said that julio's been asking for a trade for months. He said months ago is where it was. So let's dive into that In the last portion of this conversation. Michael irvin is. Why do you think. Julio wants out like what what do you think is up with that that that he asked for trade from atlanta. And he's like. I'm out of there when there is matt ryan and kyle pits and calvin ridley and and and an offense that you could say is one of the best in the nfl coming into this year. Wh why why do you think he wants out. Michael i it scared that if those guys all be working together in harmony that would be absolutely scared when you're talking about pets wrigley and an jones. Julio man that would be like oh my god just be a scary thing but but honestly what happens here. Man is dealing with emotions. We're dealing with emotions place so long like iraq. Just you served a place you've given you all you've done it absolutely right. There's no i guess it. No not that you can come at this man with. He's been great. absolutely right. you start hearing all of these rumors about being paid trade and it's not okay you hear about trade. You also hear why they're trying to trade you they think own they don't you're on the back end. They believe he can do it anymore. This is what made him great. He didn't listen to people being so now he's not gonna listen now he's going to show you still have it in me and that's cool. I'll show you. I'm outta here and emotions get involved in it and gets in the way so so yeah yeah i i understand him saying that that that. Yeah he's out because he's hurt right now he's bringing him up in the in the trade talk i also think that you know It's the brady thing you know you mentioned brady in reference to rogers earlier in this conversation we had matthew stafford on the show yesterday he he has said in print and and essentially Repeated when he when i asked him about it seeing brady do what he did after twenty years going somewhere else and maybe everybody figures hey eleven twelve years in one spot. It's enough let me go somewhere else. Where where i will be far more appreciated. They won't be capped this cap that they'll you know new coach this new coach. I'll choose a new coach. Not not have chosen for me. Maybe that's part of what he's going through right now at the end of his career in way right right but but only after after you realize okay. They're not going to get treat me like they used to treat me and they're not gonna give me. What what i feel. i deserve. Tom didn't choose to leave all together like until his choice. They had to bring in more help. That have done things differently and he would have wanted to stay right he. I'm sure would have anyone finishes korean. We but since all of those things didn't happen and and they they was getting ready to show him the door. He went on and did what he had to do with absolutely helps other guys like who are yo and aaron rodgers. Saying wait a minute. Wait a minute. Because i the thing i remember when when the lebron wait was talking about it in basketball they say you so they got rid of michael jordan. So one day. They're going to get rid of. They got rid of michael jordan. They're going to get rid of aaron rodgers them saying the same thing. This is the reality of the game. So they're trying to beat you to it and right now. Julio jones he said i'll show you he's hurt and i'll show you and yeah i'll go somewhere else you get. I don't think julia really wants to leave. I think it's paying a disaster of last year here is going to help them. Make a decision that i want out well and then in terms of that that let's finish up with that michael irvin his where where he might go next We could not help and we wonder if you saw as well on instagram at michael mediate deondraye cans putting out a photograph of him. is that that's aj green angles at And julio And deandre hopkins all around you at a pro bowl and it says julio you remember what we talked about jalen ramsey charmed and relax So you know obviously jalen can only take one of these guys On the screen. Aj and de'andre together in arizona. What did you guys talk about that day. What did you what was discussed on that day. I was funny right here. That is funny way. But i i have had conversation with of course with with the andrei. And julio and all of those and we talked the business up the business just what. We're talking about right now. The business of doing business we. We had that conversation that pro bowl remember. What year that was. That was years ago when we had to come say we had this conversation. We're having right now about the business You know forgo two years ago when when andrea hawkins stuff bro. I was on the phone with those two guys. We were talking the business up the business and they will already prepare and talking about this talking about. You know these teams. That's what they're going to try to do so you know. Let's try to make sure we maximize whatever we have is business. That's the i'm telling you. These guys are older guys are different. Now it's not just about these guys see themselves as each individual business and businessmen and and and they're trying to themselves accordingly into very very nikolay gifted kids you let you uniquely give the athletes like julio jones other deondraye hockey's those guys are going to strive to control more of their future than than just sitting around letting people are letting front officers do what they wanna do knowing that ultimately they're trying to replace so you're saying there was no you're saying basically michael irvin that that that deondraye hopkins is reminding julio jones about the business of of business and and he should utilize his business acumen right now. It just so happens that. Aj green is in that photograph with the andre hopkins at their current teammates in arizona. That is just pure coincidence..

"Burnett, go and free agency last off season the year before they let Mike hide go to buffalo and he ended up as a pro baller. Not lived up. It's not played up to his Pro Bowl season of two thousand sixteen their second round pick from from seventeen Josh Jones played four snaps on defense all here, and it's not all injury related. He just can't get on the field because performance and they're, they're playing undrafted, rookie Cantrell Bryce at the other safety spot who doesn't seem to understand the coverages because two of the big deep balls have been thrown over the top of their defense have been with Bryce in in health coverage, deep safety help. So I, you know, the, they, it's sort of like, you know, they plug the damn in one spot and they, they finally fixed a cornerback situation. Now they're safeties are an absolute mess. So of course it would help if they got a little bit more pass, rush, play Matthews has a sack and a half, but you know, it had the issues with the late hits and the penalties and all that still think Matthews is an affective player can help those guys on the back end, but they don't have enough clay Matthews type players upfront. So it's a real issue. And you know, we talked about patents arrival, you know, everyone. Was was ready to run down Capers out of town two years ago, and it finally happened but, but it's not like, you know, there's been a huge impact by patent and not all pens fault. If you look back at their drafts Bill and I'm working on a piece for next week at this, they don't have any many starters from the last three ten times drafts they just the, you know that they spent a lot of those picks on defense and not a lot of them have worked out and it's really set them back from a defensive standpoint. Yeah, and certainly cleared, look at that in terms of that safety position, do you think they make changes in the short term and long term? Do you think they would consider benching control price continues to struggle. And then do you think how Clinton Dix is a player who we see on the Packers roster after the season Clinton Dix is an interesting case study because statistically his numbers look very good. Alright, he's got three interceptions a forced fumble on a sack six games. Those are all big impact splash plays their their secondary coach. So let's talk about splash plays. Well. Those are those are canon ball plays the pool. So you know, but but here, here's the thing on a plane play out basis which we talked about earlier. There's too many Mrs Clinton debts. There's too many times when he's just a tip late too many times where he appears, you know, maybe doesn't. He's not willing to take on, you know, the play like like a hard hitting safety should. My gut says that they let him walk and for agency just because he's those stats are going to command an eight million dollar a year type contract, and and I don't think he's an eight million dollar a year player. I don't think the Packers view of that way. So my guess is they let a block, but okay, how do they fix it? You know, we talked about their shortcomings, Bryce being one of them, Josh Jones, the traffic who hasn't worked out doing the short term. I think they stay with Bryce and Clinton Dix, but in the long term, you know, that's another position that's probably going to have to be overhaul, but through three agency, which new general manager, Brian. Good acoustics showing these a pension for these dabbling in a little bit which is more than than they had done. Yeah, absolutely. They've been work recive not only in terms of the players they did, but also they gave Cal fuller or very large offer sheet before hit is staying with the bears. Are you concerned about their play on the road so far? I mean, I don't know that it's been a big sample of course, only been two games, but they did not look good against Washington, like you said, thirty one seventeen, and they were outplayed from start to finish, at least from what I saw. And then granted in the lions game, you know, they did did miss a lot of those field goals and extra points. But still they went down pretty comfortably early on three, three turnovers, no takeaways on the other side of the ball..

"He started the other night play, ran a Puta full, play action, bootleg, and they hit Marquez vow this gambling. So what sixty. And the reason they ran the bootleg because their own Jones was not good in pass protection. So they were ever get Rodgers out and didn't have to worry about as running back up the Bush, the next player, chill rips off a sixty, died rod at their yard line. So you think here we go, these are these are, this is the way they're going to play with Jones, and they never really got back to it. Now, some cars will tell you say that game just, you know, when a different direction likes to say that when a different direction from what they had planned but pass protection is is a real issue. Jamal Williams is a much better blitz pick up guy then than air. Joel, throw the film out from from the weeks, three or four see where Rogers had to scramble out of there because Jones the guy up the flipping linebacker safety. But at some point, you know, you have to say, look, we're gonna do some things medically to help Rodgers when Jones is in the game because Jones is so effective and and I do think you could go back to even when Eddie lacy was the number one running back here. He'd never. Got older that seventeen eighteen carry Mark until right around early November because he doesn't wanna wear out. You know, I sat in the summer. That I thought some point this season, Aaron Jones would be number one running back. It hasn't happened yet. I still think it will happen. I, it just may not happen until early November when they're pretty sure that they haven't worn down. Yeah. I mean, there's certainly not concerned about wearing him down so far. I would not characterize worn down in the site is all right now through through the last since he came back into the lineup, paternity was week three seventy seven carries for for the trio of Jones tomorrow Williams and time Montgomery Jones thirty. Two of them, not that good at math, but it's a little under half. I mean, that's where he comes back in that forty five percent of the carries ranch things where he comes back after the bye. Do you think they might use the by to get him maybe to fifty sixty percent of the rushing attempts? Yeah, I think they're trending toward getting him up there, especially when you you look at yards per carry. I mean, it is. It's a huge different. He's a, I think it's almost six yards a carry, a five point, five. Nine yards of Kerry Jamal Williams is that three point eight time on Camrys around will over four. So I mean, it's that alone tells you that they need to get him much more work. And I do think it's trending that way. Yeah, I agree with you. Let's talk about the defense here in a moment, but I want to talk about our friends at me undies. You know, I love discussing me undies. Just talked about Aaron Rodgers how much he hates that knee brace. Well, I wish me unders would make a knee brace because Aaron Rodgers would love how comfortable it was. It might not be maybe the best thing for your actual knee. I'm not sure that it would be up to up to code necessarily, but I can't say that me undies is great for wherever you want to wear them. And of course there are so many different things me undies offers. It's not just underwear it socks. It's t shirts. It's lounge pants, phone, man, the lounge pants. Let me tell you. There is nothing. I work in more frequently since I get to work from home, which is the biggest game in the world. I get to wear those land pans all day. And it is a fantastic time to be alive. The only thing I wear what I work from home, I were shirt too, but it's a mandate shirt. You get it. You get the idea when I had out. Unfortunately, something I do do it to leave my house to go do things I put on the undies I put on the socks. I am super comfortable in the matter where I go, it feels like I'm not even wearing underwear, although fortunately for me and the people around me, I.

"There was a. Playing the buffalo game early. I were hit Davante Adams wide open on third down right at the marker, and he threw underneath he. He admitted he didn't see him. That's not things that you're normally used to to seeing from Rodgers. Now, I do think the lack of preparation time all the time that he's had to spend in the rehab room. He clearly does not like wearing the knee brace. He's brought that up on several occasions that has said right after the game Monday night that he hopes they come back from the by that he doesn't have to wear the brace. But that's something that the, that the doctors and the coaching staff will decide together not having Randall Cobb and Toronto. AL's last couple of games has not helped. There's been my point is in rattling off all these things. There's just a myriad factors that have slowed this three down offensively that said Rodgers when it's mattered has still been fantastic and and remember what? What was it three or four years ago when we would've said boy, Rogers, biggest shortcoming is his. Lack of fourth quarter clutch drives. Why go back to? I think it was two thousand fourteen or fifteen, whether he had to the game in Miami where it was the speak fake spike by devante atoms. And then the next play they hit. Qualified for a touchdown, and that sort of started this this, you know, hey, Rogers is not really good in the clutch and ever since then he's had some amazing. You know, fourth quarter finishes. Obviously there's the hail Mary plays that he had a Detroit in Arizona, the playoffs day, but but but it goes deeper the, you know, there's the Cincinnati eight last year, the Dallas game at Dallas, but we before he gets hurt. I mean, don't forget last year. The forty collarbone. I thought he was playing his best football. I mean, really MVP level type stuff. And you know, it's taken him, you know, he has quite got back to that. You know, he missed a lot of football over the last, what ten months ago back to the collar on injury. So they'll maybe we should cut a little slack for that regard and just trying to sort of get back, you know, the rhythm. Yeah, it does seem like you know, it'd be one thing if he he sort of in those moments where you absolutely need graduates to make a big play that he couldn't. He couldn't get out. You couldn't cokes out of himself, but I'm seeing, like you said, we want against the bears. Niners. I mean, this is a guy who we know his knees on one hundred percent, but when that space opened up in front of him, you know, he scrambled for a big play that game on Monday. So even though he's on one hundred percent, even though there's going to be moment, it seems like where he's going to get up, he's going to get up after a hit. Then he's, you know, he's he's not gonna look great. It's not gonna feel good. Seems like he's still playing pretty well, and I guess, I wonder, you know, and I guess I have to ask this question because if not fantasy players will kill me. The one thing you would figure might be able to take some of the pressure off. Rogers, of course, getting the receivers back, we'll help having a healthy offensive line is always good, but having a more effective running game than it's been a big concern. It seems like for the entirety of Aaron Rodgers tenure with the Green Bay Packers and be question that comes up every week, and I want to hear your answer because I don't have an answer I have to admit is why isn't Aaron Jones getting more? Terry's started last week. That's what make it was going to be a positive thing. And then he only got nineteen snap. So what's what's the deal here with Aaron Jones in this Packers oftens. Written like three weeks in a row after him, he coming out this offense that Aaron Jones could be what offense needs could mean your for? There is an. Mike McCarthy is nothing if not stubborn. He said the off season, we're back by committee. He said in the summer, we're going to be running back by committee. He said, we want to win Jones was out. We're going to be running back by committee and so on and so on. And let me get..

"So there's all kinds of, you know, these, these little plays that could have gone either way. But you know, I think they do tend to even out over the course of a season and they really doubt over six games as mentioned the Crosby. You'll Crosby left what thirteen points on the field and they lost droit by what was it eight? So you know, I, it's there's so many different ways to look at it. I think you have to like you say, play by play. You look at it and you say, well, they're not. They're not be consistent offense that you'd think they are the stats like the kinda lie. I mean Rodgers destroyed for over four hundred yards the last two games, but they've come out and they've started terribly in those games. And it's really odd Rogers like offense. And then you look on the flipside defensively, they were fourth in yards going into that last game against the Niners. And even like petting the defensive coordinator said, hey, look, that's a Mirage. You know, we've, we've got short fields, you know the, the bigger differences is points and we're in the middle of the pack there. But my patent is a as a defensive coordinator Bill has never finished outside the top ten in yards both with the jets and the bills. So you know, they're on track there, but yet it still seems like they give up too many big plays. You mentioned the plate of feeling down the sideline. I mean, look at the the place that they gave up to to the Niners the other night with receiver. I mean, you know, they don't have the speed to match up with guys like that. I thought the forty Niners made them look slow on defense. So I think this is a team that sitting here sorta licking their wounds a little bit could be fortunate to be where they are, but also probably should be a little bit better than than where they are. Like you said. Let's start with Aaron Rodgers. Let's start with the offense because like you said, the numbers you look at them, they're pretty impressive. I mean, he's still has twelve touchdowns one interception. Of course. I think the game that people saw the most of, you know, they saw the game on Monday night, of course, but then you think about that week, one game against the bears were. He has absolutely incredible in the second half on one leg look at total QBR which is nugget not perfect, but something that is a little more advanced in terms of quarterback analysis has Rogers at sixteenth in the Lia through six weeks. Do you think that is a more accurate information of how he's playing? I mean, do you think in any of the offensive slowdown so far could be attributed to Rogers, or is it more about the people around him. Well, you're right. I mean, I think he's closer to what is to be our says, whether it's touchdown interception ratio is which is fantastic. But you know, Bill the only area that they've really been great at offensively as when they've gone no-huddle two minute, and that's, you know, that's what they did when they were down against the bears. That's what they did. You know the other night against San Francisco when they when they felt behind, that's what they did when they tried to come back against Detroit and almost did so that that's a little bit. It's a little bit scheme little bit play calling. I think there's been some disconnect there as as Rogers brought to the forefront after the game against the bills. You know, he, he doesn't love clearly. He doesn't love what they're doing on offense and what they've done from a planning standpoint, and he's trying to take it into his own hands a little bit. The knee injury has certainly been at issue. He's he's missed, throws at times Gormley made. He's not only misthrows. He's missed open receivers that he just hasn't even seen..

"They're always going to be in the thick of things, and he has not been healthy necessarily. But of course he has been on the field so far we'll get to Rogers in a second, but just in terms of the big broad picture with the Packers, three, two and one half game back in the NFC north right in the thick of things. Of course in division that is still wide open. It's almost been a different team from game to game, but overall, just taking the bigger picture if you had to give them a great for their start to the season, where do you pay them after the first six weeks of the cantor who I think everyone thought that with Rogers coming back from what he experienced last year with the broken collar volt and sort of a loss. You said that they would come out of the gates fast. I mean, they they really shoot out of the gates of the schedule, sort of setup for that to happen with with what three home games of the first four weeks. And so I think they've underachieved to this point. You know, if I had to give them a grade b, c minus because they're definitely a little bit below average. You know, we all do it when the schedule comes out and we sit there, we go kid this as a win. This is a loss. Live is the win. I'll be honest. I had them at five and one going into the. Bye now, you know, obviously, circumstances changed, Rogers hurt. To the me and the game against your Kaga, wink one. But you know, five of them one was was really doable, and and maybe Washington ends up a little bit better than you know, we thought they were going to be even. But that was a game where they were really not very competitive and it down twenty eight to ten at one point met game. So you know three two and one is definitely a disappointment. Yeah. And I mean, you think about even on the flip side of that, thinking about the niner's game on Monday where you'd see that for the year, it's going to be a shootout. You've got Jimmy Garoppolo coming in and that offense has just been riddled with injuries. I mean, that's a lineup that is got guys. We're not playing in one hundred percent or backups at quarterback halfback some of the receivers missing. I mean, it's really beat up offense and they still scored thirty points on on the Packers, four hundred one yards of offense in the game. And I mean, it's, I think what I struggled with this, you look at the results and you could say, okay, well, if a couple things differently, if the bears convert that first down on third and short, the second half of week one, the Vikings kick. Doesn't have a nightmare game. If the ninety s hold onto that lead on Monday night, they could be one in five, but then you flip it. We'll Mason Crosby had a horrific game against the lines. Maybe they win that game Mason. Crosby is a better Coker in that game. Maybe they hold on to that lead against the Vikings. Don't convert that that incredible. Kirk cousins pass to feeling down the sidelines, be five on one. So I just I don't know what to make this team right now defined it hard to judge where there are at or you just think overall given on a play by play basis. If someone who watches this team very closely that they're still, you know, regardless of record still pretty disappointing. Do I think you make reports that? I mean, you talk about the, you know, the one in five possibility. I mean, if the if the phantom holding call really contact on Richard Sherman is in called Aaron Rodgers is sacked. They don't go down kick the game winning field goal of the thing probably goes over time and then who knows what happened..
