"Game is the degree of difficulty and when a goal is scored the euphoria involved. Especially when we've seen just incredible playmaking from the mkx david's in the matthews of the world. I'm i'm of the opinion that You know we. We should celebrate that. And e n when we when scoring expands. Let's say we go back to the eighties model and again goaltending was different than two. But is you know eight to six. Is it as special when a goal is scored anymore. Does it matter as much. I don't know. Yeah cross when i get my trick special. That's exactly hatrick. Once a week thing. I'm thinking about now. Is i still think. There's a ways to go in new modern material technology so for instance bulletproof vest type of thing where you can manufacturer protection. That is unquestioned. Goaltender will be protected at the same time smaller and lighter and i think that may be the next step where they've already taken that step but if they go a little further maybe again they accomplish things where they opened up and if they opened up another three or four inches in the net. That's enough that's enough for deflections to all of a sudden go in instead of hitting a shoulder. That's enough shrink the pads and other half inch and other insurer there i i have two words for you though on that carbon fiber some point. There's going to be a composite material that that has some sort of carbon fibre component. That'll be lighter than ever before and it'll be more protective than ever before when you think about a formula one race car right. They are built with the chassis. That has so much more carbon fiber than it did however many years ago and they are safer than they've ever been. I i look at that and save shin guards or state guards or in a chest protector or even a helmet like what y aren't components of that being involved just yet. I have a feeling that's the next thing. And then they those have to become affordable to them. Yeah of course well i. It's been a conversation. I'm glad we had a chance to to chat with with rob blake jimmy final thoughts here before we wrap up. Yeah you know. I keep the happy train going. You know adrian tempe kinda of use that phrase in just back to the kings are my expectations. I don't know if they've moved. That much mentioned it a couple of times on the air tom. Mclaughlin teams historically will be good on the power play. That's just one of his strengths. We're seeing that now.

"That's it's not as serious as if it did happen but tells you know that's crying wolf if you're using that now while i. It has geopolitical implications for players coming from the national hockey league. That again i was way beyond whatever we could cover in a couple of minutes deal. They've already group them. They've always okay. This guy supports putin. This guy sports putin they've held the fundraiser than these guys. Don't that's that's That's i don't think that. Is this. The first of that type of thing that i've heard any sport like political political in nature like at least in the nhl at least north american sports. I mean i'm sure it happens with international athletes in olympic sports or maybe you know in leagues in europe. But i can't recall anything like that. You know released recently olympics sports the sixty olympics test that was circling. even beyond that boycotts. The i can't recall anything since then. That's kind of crossed over but like utica lines like that. You're potentially talking about pitting players on the same team each other Depending on their thoughts on who should be leading new certain countries gets a fascinating stuff on there. Were just at the start of it. Really feels like And then one other thing that came up last week Article in the athletic. That generated a lot of buzz from ken. Dryden who we know is can be a little bit long winded at times but had a boot presented a very very strong case for change in the national hockey league where he wants to expand the nets. And we've heard this talk before. I don't know if i've heard it quite in the in the same detailed way that he laid out like no no. I haven't made but And i'm sure he's done in the past. But i don't know what's your. What's your general impression of reading about this this week the nick nixon rule yeah. He's talking about this talking about it for good You know at least ten years not fifteen years of just in a what. The nets bigger. Now i'm seeing more and it coincides with the crackdown on the.

"Bleachers. And how you know fifteen thousand people in the bleachers another ten to fifteen thousand around and then when you talk about the entire area you're talking seventy five thousand you know just all around that area on i think That would be where i would do it again. Now you're you're running into a lot of issues with weather because fog. Maybe we'll sprinkle here and there but that's again you're going to go for the home run or not and i think i think you could do it it. It's it's likely tall. Although with the temporary bleachers. I think he can put you can put probably around fifteen to twenty thousand people in the area and we know that the impact. Yes the dodger stadium game. You can get sixty thousand dodger stadium young fans but i think what lake tahoe showed it is not just about necessarily making a profit which the outdoor games do it regardless of whether tv ratings declining or not the the outdoor games are still wildly profitable for the nhl not necessarily for the teams in the league. Is league organizers. The whole thing if you had fifteen thousand people there and you had more of an impact in the community like la is going to be buzzing because there's a hockey game on the beach in all you know the local tv stations. That may not cover every single game. You better believe they're going to be down there giving attention to the team getting attention to the sport in southern california. The biggest obstacle having lived in the beach areas would be the the city having to shut down that area for these two week festival. What does it hermosa happens if you if you plan planet for the winter. I think the beaches themselves aren't as necessarily busy as all of the traffic that it would entail to get all of the machinery down there but again they do it for a manhattan open so in volleyball. So you you to do but then you would have to really lock it down for for a week right. I streets a long beach grand prix. So it's just something that i i know from experience down here on the beaches and rightly so i'm sure they the residents don't necessarily not in my backyard exactly so you know. I guess if i had your money was able to buy million dollar house on the beach you know. I wouldn't want to live there for three hundred sixty five days a year and not have to move out. Every once in my condo is is just fine. Thank you very much To other topics. I want to get to one is You know kind of developing story. We'll see where it goes In the next couple days and weeks And i bring it up because you have experience with Kind of the international nature of the sport was our tammy perrin and You know this report out about You know potential a salt years ago when he was playing in the cage shell and then the revelation it might be politically motivated At just that breath thought here. If you will and and i know you've traveled to russia a couple of times and especially with the world championships in In the eighties your experience with you know just how careful you have to be and how everything winds up being political different times. I mean when i visited it was communist russia so that was eighty six world championships in the it was it was a shock. It was a complete shock to my system..

"Is rarely the most important thing. And i don't think it's the most important thing here. The application of it is but now they they might be sitting in one of those going. Oh okay yeah. If i'm in the locker room my partner just had a boo boo and he he coughed it up. And what can i do to help him. Why get out. How can i read. How can i help him. Rebound because when he rebounds it helps the team rebound just gets. You're probably thinking about your teammates. More than just thinking about yourself. I would just think about the glare. That matt green would give. And i just don't wanna get that you know those those is looking at me like Nope not gonna not gonna make that mistake again. that'd be problematic. We have a little bit of time here. let let's do a quick around the league with a couple of topics First things first outdoor games this weekend lake tahoe. We talked about it going into the weekend. A little bit With the inspiration for the weekend didn't go according to plan for the national hockey league but sometimes through mistakes you stumble upon genius and i. I wonder if the nhl would be willing to try this again now. Knowing that you can't do an outdoor game in the middle of the day with bright sunshine sixty six hundred feet above sea level What was your reaction to the weekend. And then i want to pick your brain about like other outdoor venues. I think everything was fine. I think they they knew in the back of their mind. The possibility this is me. And you know what for years and years and years and years and years and years the nhl has been criticized for being conservative. They went for the homerun. Okay went for that prime time son out but not hot enough to melt the ice but then you get the blue sky and you get the mountains you get the trees you go for the whole run and they found it off a little bit but they went for. I like that now. They'll learn now. Next time they go for the homerun. Maybe not made adjustments of starting times. And maybe you know. The lighting at night being able to put lights on both sides of the rink as opposed to just one side. Because you know one is backed up to a lake. And you can't really. You know all those types of things. But i have no problem. Go for the home run. Go for it. And.

"Doughty or cal. Peterson watched on the quick. I mean you can't teach that no matter what classrooms. We want to do after or seminars. The day to day ritual of it is so valuable and we're so fortunate that those veterans have bought in and doing whatever they can to help our team get better. It's going to help those kids to. I've got one more for you here. Robin and then. We'll let you go. Because i've asked this of a lot of different people round hockey in kind of around our lives really. Is there anything from this pandemic experience that you would keep going for and there are so many negatives right. I think we're finding positives that we can take out of it. Is there something in your daily life. Even you would. Well i mean especially the biggest thing is these virtual meetings like connection with your staff. We so we have amateur scouts a pro scouts. But you really only saw an amateur meetings or once or twice a year and then around the draft or your pro scouts. Because everybody's going all different way. The communication between our stop has come so far in the last six months because of the virtual settings and no one's afraid of it anymore so we do a player performance meeting every other week where we list all our players. We have all the department heads that are involved in the players performance on together and we just communicate virtually now which we wouldn't have done that before he to do it. Separately entering so some of that will we take and we'll go forward. And i see the players adopting now to like You know a funny thing like bus times guys used to come three or four hours before they mandated an hour and forty five minutes before. So now you down to one buck but but i think guys are gonna stick by some of us you know. Oh no one likes change or when it's enforced on you and all of a sudden hitting your news not too bad so You know we. We kinda had that model right from day. One listen know awareness this situation. We don't get them bullet. Let's make the most of it. And i do think communication staff wise was a real big help through this Like alex broth is up to me. But it's kinda into what you're talking. Is there been any discussion all to keep the two game series into the future. I look at the travel. It is much better as please blakey. Please make this a reality..

"We really got to focus on the organization and Reshape what we wanted to build here. It kind of goes coincides with what you wanna do with the team. Not the balancing blakey touched on it in this entire interview but ontario wins and losses to start the season i know development is number one priority but when do those losses become a concern. They do right now. You don't wanna lose many want the kids to have that grasp and and be competitive You know so. We're looking at some things there You know one of them was was the goal tiny we understood mattie vaults i'd only played i think twenty two games last year something so you want surround them with a veteran so we Rich ceiling glen murray kinda operate ontario. Offseason signed troy. Gross nick but as it turns out we lose him on waivers with an injury to edmonton We reacquire him. But now you've got the taxi squad situation and he's on the textbook so he hasn't even been available to ontario You know we had mark all as a veteran defense. We had him up early this year. Like campari just joins the team on this road trip. It takes motive three games and ontario. A taxi squad and nhl so we've had to juggle a little bit around there Young unique situation was a lot of times when you when you look your american league. We have two or three young kids coming in. You surround them with good veterans right. So we've had brett sutter for a long time. He's been terrific. But like i said we brought in seven first year forwards plus. Campari who miss last year. The acl so so you've got basically eight forwards but you want them plan in key situation so i was at the game the other night. We are five on three the five forwards. They put out there first year guys so great situation but there is a learning curve to the american league getting banged around by bayer heavier player stronger players also learning a defensive structure probably structure that they may not have. They may away with in junior college because they were talked players in eight. Listen go out yet. You do your score. Now you're gonna come and play in the structure to house success so all that learning curve of isn't to be unexpected But yeah we we look at it. And i like to style. They wanna play You would like to get a little more results. But i think we want to focus a lot on that process and and really look at the twenty thirty gamart mart. Where were these kids getting because right now. They're all planned valuable minutes in key situations which we like. Is there an aspect to this season and not the to rag too much on kind of where the american hockey league is right now. Just given the covert situation in the economics of it all..

"Is there a position that you would say your deepest in Probably centerman You know we've got some playing out of position. Even in the american league tyler madden has played on the wing for the majority of it. The campari with qatari. Turcott by field You know it's a it's a deep deep middle there But there is the ability for those to play wing. You don't see a lot of wingers moved to center you but you do see centerman moved to wing at different times but i think if you just did strictly positional i would say centerman is probably the dow and to that end. I wonder maybe this is just a reach on my end but you know the rule change. Recently where teams have the ability on an end zone. Faceoff to pick which side after an icing. Let's say I i noticed last year especially carts now but you know played so many years at center that okay he can take a face off and you and you don't worry about it. We were so deep in that position. I wonder is it just a byproduct of hey weaken draft a centerman. We don't necessarily have to keep them that way but it's nice luxury to have right. I think the ability to move them to the wing and knowing that may be also in the draft to kind of falls in that situation. I probably should have put in that group for some reason. I consider a veteran. Even is really. I l you know but But yeah they they have that the other thing todd to especially penalty likes have Centered both both being able to take center a sauce different things. So you'll see in the american league. We'll have Tyler battle take draws even if he's lined up on wing and different things just so that when they make the transition and they get in. There's nothing that's going to hold them back so that they can be in a situation where okay if you have to take a draw. You have to fight. I'm gonna. i'm gonna go back now. If i can Nine thousand nine hundred eighty eight.

"And just because the stage that the kings are in maybe better prepared but what is it like managing a flat cap because we talk about cap management all the time that all of a sudden the economics are hurt by cova and now the past to remain the same. Yeah and i think e prior to that we always figured on anywhere between two to three percent increase so anytime you looked at your roster where he wanted to get to next year possible re signings or free agency always factored that increase now. Now you're doing it fly. A in retrospect where we are with our situation. It probably works out fine for us Where we've had to you know kind of shed a lot of that contract and and cap situation so But going forward you you. You definitely need to be prepared for it and plan Were we were. We're doing a lot of planning is is where our kids coming out entry levels you know and and what kind of contracts would they be looking at and in different terms so you try to manage a you know two or three years out to see which kids will come out. Entry level based off of their success. What kind of contracts and factor in your tap into that. How many categories do you have like that blakey meaning entry level contract and then is there is they're like you know the second contract or the age categories where you kinda group guys together based on age. Well i think it's more right now. Probably contra if we look at the age aspect. We've got the five veterans ray. You copay andrew in their in their contracts long term you kind of know where they sit in a jeff and andy dawson and quick. You kinda know their contracts. And then you've got your secondary group that i follow and can't be I understand those. And but the ones i talk more will probably are the the more the entry level the guys just coming in And where they project to be You have to kind of project out where how they're going to play. And what level a contract. You think you'll be looking at forward if i can go one more in the same area guys There's no question. Your plan has been to stockpile assets younger players. that's part of the transition phase. The kings were in. Is it possible to put a timeline line on that. Meaning you wendy you group some guys together..

"Masuku perry. He is now at the top. I know i know it's weird and it's tough you know scoring and how do you know with the setup that they have going. I mean they've had to adjust and they've done a good job. They're playing but you know he's at the top of the league the american hockey league so that's just not leading ontario. He's near the top acts and tom. Mclaughlin brought it up the other day like the flavor of the month. The new kids that are drafted the kelly avs and the turk- odds and all of these kids you know by field. They get all the pub because they're the newest the most recent now then you have got to. Campari was a pretty high pick himself. And now he's just coming off a knee injury little experience Know the depth is is starting to build. And that's that's what makes me a more positive looking forward than it. Has an it takes time. It takes time to get we dive into vis and a number of topics with rob lake's so without further ado. You know big picture wise like you know we're we're in a good place. I feel like at least what. What's what's your assessment of where we're at right now. The last few games. I think it's more of a complete game Tendencies early in the season. It wasn't a complete game You know the just kind of the flow of You know from the goaltenders to the defense to the fords. The movement of the pot the the executioners system and and again the power play has has gone up dramatically from last year at the early in the season. It just just from not i answer. It appears to me that of course when you go into any game you want to win the game but you're looking for more of a trend overall thing along with the winds correct. Yep yep i think that's what. We had focused last year in any side near the end of last season with the with the structure and the way they were able to win games. They relied heavily on on goaltending always structure in place And offense of a volume a shooting. And i think we've continued to that but again i think a little bit more. The offense is focused around the power play production this year but You know the execution of the system has really come here the last couple of weeks..

"Welcome everybody to new episode of fox and faust this week jimmy. You have a luxury we have. We get to talk to general manager of a national hockey league team. Rob blake will join us in just a bit. We get a chance to dive into a whole number of topics. But what's top of mind for you this week. Is we start off our podcast. Well i have to say in many times when we do our podcast we we try to stay away from the king's just from the standpoint of probably get a lot of that information during the games and on the air and things of that sort so we touch on things but let's face it you know five in a row as we're taping again the way because the power play his come alive and there. Was you know. Winning is winning but now the kings. They're not outscoring their problems but they're outscoring their stuff not something. That's perhaps it's fun to win. But it's also fun to win when your scorn. I think just the whole way that they've been playing has been fun Y- guest will string you along chitchat for a little while. Try and keep you tuned in for the whole hour. But let's cut to the chase here. We'll have rob blake on in just a few moments general manager of the la kings. You know we don't have a ton of time to to dive into some topics on tv and given the turnaround when the club gym. I find it interesting where the kings are at right now and you brought it up on tv the other day. I think the comment that we got from todd mcclellan Last week about batting order. And where guys are ad in the lineup in having balanced. Is i keep coming back to that idea. That for the first time in a couple years really feels like. There's there's a right balance within the lineup. And guys are playing where they should and and there's an identity and everybody knows their roles. I mean it's early in the season still yet right. you know. It's five games in a row but we still got another third of the year yet. And i just still feel like there's finally a sense of identity with his team right now. I think the personnel turnover is a big part of that. And we've discussed it. We have perhaps more positives to look forward to because of the prospect pool but There's different ways to win in the league changed..

"You know like It's go go way back when when Eric Lindros was coming out of junior. He had nothing to prove. Correct, right? He's 18 years of age. He's a man he can move on there's other guys and dry settle started in the NHL but then had to go back into Junior because yes, he was putting up points, but there was more to his game. There was more to the NHL than just scoring. God bless you for saying that because I constantly get in fights with people where they say the point of the game is to score goals and I was a notes the point of the game is to score more goals than your opponent off when when the kings were making their decision by field versus just how much contact did they have with you every every team will call, you know, if you're if you're in in the running to get a top pick in that player is on your team, they're going to call and ask for you know, all the information that you can give and give us a coach and a girl who they're comparing them to and it's difficult for me as a culture in the Ontario Hockey League to of compared Clinton to Sutro because I don't see suits on Monday night owl. I see Quinton everyday right know they're going to call they want their background information. And then it's up to you telling Rob Blake to make that final decision along with their head scalped. So yeah, you are in contact with them and then age, you know them give them for me the way I work is I give them the information all the information they want good the bad right? You're I'm selling player, but I'm not going to sell them something that he's not if Quinton does wind up playing another season in Sudbury. I don't know if you've got other guys, but I imagine you might have other guys drafted to other NHL teams. Is there ever any sort of extra pressure whether it's from the teams or just subconscious to make sure that these guys who have been drafted are, you know, getting the right I slime to help their career or being a huge case or highlighted. Is it difficult to juggle those responsibilities? It does come in there. So if Quentin comes back home He was last last year. He was the best player in our league. So now now we're coming back. He's a year older. I would you know, put some pressure on the on the organization and the staff in order to you better be taking a run at the Memorial Cup player. Like this doesn't come around very often, right. So now it's it's a lot of moving Parts but now, you know, we have two other month. We'd have three four other guys who are getting to a point when you go Clinton put you over the top. Final question and feel free not to answer it. Would you have taken Quinton Byfield with the first overall pick in this year's draft.

"Here's a look at the new players we have scheduled to make pro debuts with the Kings. This year talked about gave you saw Anderson Dolan last year for a short stint but he's pro so none of these players. They can't go back to junior. They can't go back to college. They're they're. They're finally in our hands. Now Vlada Mike Anderson to Time College Championship you know welcome to the Pros Schander Z. Marcus Phillips the played in junior and Guava won a championship and Interior League and onto the Memorial Cup. They're gonNA make their pro debuts razzmatazz compare your first round or from a year ago hit along with Saudi Graham Blake Lozada's a college and I know you're up here last year and we explained about our department. <hes> particularly goes after college free agents agents. We identify what need our specific need. Our team has and we go after Blake Lozada's product of Value Sam in one game last year and we expect him much more around here. Nikolai precaution a name. That's probably been around here for a few years drafted. We finally got the opportunity to get them over. Here is playing the cage at the pro level and we fully expect him contribute to our team and the other three guys Mariel campy obviously Adrian's brother Ryan and Fritter are some pro. Ufa's have spent time in the NHL NHL and we'll fill depositions with us so it just shows you that the number of players thirteen new players and we fully expect that same amount next year so this is how we're going a build up prospect pool so like I said and I think you touched on it too. We kind of want to walk you through the process of of of not only identifying the talent Alan selecting the talent developing talent and then where does that talent go into our coaching staff so I'm going to bring up Nelson Emerson. He's director of player personnel and he's going to talk a little bit about the historic day data that backs up some of our scouting statistics over the past few years. Why are amateur staff why we're confident they will do a good job awesome. I'll bring Nelson up real quick..

"We weren't real sure we could sign not very confident we were going to be able to we ended up moving him prior the draft and then we took that pick and packaged it with Thomson to move up in the Fourth Round Pick Kim new assigning a young finished. He'll he'll play this year in the Finnish League the Pro League and then we expect him over here next year now just an example of the teaming and we're these departments coming together so we do the draft Friday night in the first round obviously with Turcott caught and Tobias take those two players we go home and going into the draft to hockey operations and the amateur staff had identified Sammy emme Fatima was a player. They wanted to make sure they left the draft with. We knew he'd be around the fifty fifty to fifty five range but we didn't have picked that day at fifty and fifty five so we go back. Friday we contact Jeff and our analytic staff and we go over the curve the value analysis each pick and we come up with a scenario that can get us into that second round and fortunately it worked out that day we got Sammy Fag at fifty. We weren't confident we can get them at our sixty four th pick so there was an idea of of not only hockey offs but the amateur staff and the analytic coming together to formulate a plan to make sure that we came out of this draft with Sammy so here's just a quick look at some of our draft picks uh I know we go over this every season or the start of every year and everything but kind of what I wanNA show you the two thousand seventeen draft and gave the number one one guy and I know there's a ton of questions about him and the update I can give you right now is. He is progressing in his Rehab. He is not cleared escaped. He will not be at Camp but he's farther along in in his rehab progression than he has been probably in the last twelve months so <hes> you know we're we're confident he sticks to this and and and continues to get that. Rehab and we hope to have him on the ice but but what I wanted to show you was those seventeen draft. Every one of those guys are signed up for coal holds Kohl's in college. We fully expect to sign him after his junior year in Penn state this year so so you can see that there are sign but they're just turning pro now. They're just coming into organization so <hes> last year's draft three guys were signed with Qatari and Saudi autograph. Both of them will be over. They played over in Sweden and Finland respectively last year in the prologues. They'll be coming over making her pro debut with the Kings this year a Keel Thomas Thomas. We've signed him but he's going to go back to junior. Niagara and the H. L. He's actually just been named captain there so we're expecting good things but we're starting to sign some of these players. This year's draft obviously obviously. Turcott can't be signed. He's headed to Wisconsin where real real good path of development. They're real familiar and I think all of you guys with the coach Wisconsin Tony Granato. We understand. He's going to do a terrific job. Allowing in the short time he's going to have Alex he's GonNa he's GonNa turn him into the best product possibly can before it comes up here so aw that's why he's not signed but obviously with Bjorn Foot and and Sammy Fong who I talked about earlier we've signed them but the the reason we wanted to sign the most likely head back to Sweden and play in a pro league there for a year but we want them over here for training camp so they're going to be here for rookie camp next week and you'll see him into training camp so it it just shows that it does take some time but that's seventeen classes finally signed and they're finally an organization..

"The ice in practice and you get better every day and that will lead to the shared goal and the probably the best example. I can give you that right now. Kyle Clifford he did everything last year. Yeah you should crowding showed up every day to get better and if you look at his season than he was <hes> he challenged young guys challenge the older guys but he wanted to be better because he knew the the outcome the future. Oh come so we expect that of him again and we. We need more guys doing exactly what he was doing. You know there's an aspect of team that that we call teaming and that's coming together as a team to achieve this goal and and that's what I talk about all these departments and you hear from some of them tonight the scouting department development. The coaching the analytic department that we all have to be together in this now. We're we're a much more integrated group. That includes not only players but the scout the development analytics coaches trainers the player health and wellness. I saw all this has to be on the same page for this to work and that's why we're all here publicly displaying but internally for the last two or three months this is what we're we're building the vision is to build a contender and and to do the same language from from the staff to the coaches to the players players <hes> from the NHL team to the American League team to the players who are recently drafted. You know we have to have the same vision. We have to be universal and transparent throat. This is what what we're doing. We're building a team for to contend in the future. We have done the same timeframe very disciplined in in time in patients needed to execute this. There's going to be ups. UPS and downs are already has and it is not going to be smooth and but we have to be very disciplined in an executing this we need to quickly identify the talents Skills Gilles in the hopes of of our teammates and a lot of this is a players. Oh when they get together they have four or five days before the first exhibition game. They've got the young guys the old well guys the veterans. The ones have been around. They gotTA prove to each other exactly what their talents are how they're going to share and how they're going to build the team. We have to build the future. We know we we can create but none of us can do alone so that's what we're here for. We want to share this with you guys now. How do we make sure this teaming in this whole process goes well. I think the one thing we really need to be humble and the challenge ahead. We need to ask questions. We need help. <hes> like I said not. One Department has the answers you have to share all that Knowledge College within this organization. We have to be curious about other what others bring analytics so. How is that going to help our draft. How's it going to help our development. How will help our coaching staff off the different philosophies different adopting different coaching styles. Is A game changes a strength training. How are these players going to get better. Everybody trains but wh what are the different techniques is. GonNa take above everybody else and and the health and the recovery of players and and a lot of that has a mental health ingredient included in we have to be have all these resources available for our players. We have to be willing to take the risks and learn quickly and listened to by all means..

"WACHNER LUFF and Walker and Roy and the Peterson these guys come in with Anderson Dolan and playing hard to play for the kings and they want to succeed. They want to help us get to that next level. You'll get to see more this year. It's going to be a lot of fun but I don't WanNa share too much because the guys are coming <hes> before I introduce rob. I don't know if you guys happen to drive by Burbank thank but we refurbished a whole pickwick arena this year. It's really beautiful. It's going to be around for many more years. Not that was the cue want to keep it open and we think it's going to help develop. The Games and skaters and little girls can skate girls to play hockey and boys can play hockey and we're really excited about so if you it happened to drive. I'd say it's really cool. You've done a really good job. The other thing is arterial. Rain will host the All Star game this year on January twenty seven so it'd be a lot of fun to see and that's it so I'll be sitting here listening to and we'll take some question after so introduce you guys hall of fame. You Rob Blake cards here the guys welcome. Thanks for coming on a holiday weekend on Friday. That's good commitment right now. We appreciate it looks. We're going to walk through some things. We want to be as transparent as possible. Let you understand what are what the vision is and how we're we're going to create this team and and so you know. I think the best way is to get right into it and we're going to have a little slide presentation. We'll talk through some <hes> some of the episodes and some of the things thanks here for tonight so obviously the job my job here is to build a contender and whether that be in the prisoner in the future and every decision must must be made with that vision in mind and you know we. We've been focused on this past three years <hes> we we knew what we had and the direction we wanted to go. We wanted to protect our picks. Protect our prospects but we want allow this team every every chance to remain competitive ahead shown us over the years. They Donald back from all three deficits. They won Stanley Cups. We want to remain that but we're also very focused on protecting our picks protecting our prospects when we're not competitive spirit that competitive level drop last year and the drop to unaccessible unacceptable level. We knew we had to speed up the process and that's why we're in here in front of you tonight and a lot of you. Kinda understood some of the moves last year but at the end of the day we need to fully embrace building a contender for the future and we need your help doing that and we all got to be on the same page but it's time to do that and that's what we want to unveil tonight. We want to lead you down the path a little bit and show you some of the things we have planned. We understand that the issues they're big. They're challenging and and we can't do it alone. There's not one departments not development development. It's not scouting. It's not coaching has to all work together. We integrate all our departments to to allow this vision to come through. We we want to build a contending team around the corner or cornerstone pieces that we have in place and these guys have a history of winning the Copa Tars the doughty's the browns sounds of they've won before they took the team. They built it up. They won the championship now. It's their time to give that leadership back provide that for the for the younger players in the I Andersen Dolan's into Wagner's and the Lawson and so on that are coming through the organization so so we expect them to lead this group you know a team. The definition is a stable table abounded group of individuals. We weren't stable last year. It was it was up and down. Players were in and out so a main focus. This season is is to be stable and to be abounded group of individuals and Independent on achieving shared goal or outcome and this is an important thing independent and trying to get better every day you take your own play on.

"Get it to him right now. No clubs post game. Blackhawks radio. Chris boden. Disappointing. Six three Blackhawks lost in Los Angeles this afternoon as they remain stuck at sixty three points on the year. And we'll take it all the way up until seven o'clock tonight told we'll get some post game reaction from Los Angeles. Let's spend a few minutes with Troy Murray before he has to get on a bus and then a plane to head to northern California back out to the staple center. We go for a few minutes here to wrap up with Troy, and we were leery about this one heading in especially when you relate in the pre-game show. How Rob Blake went down and talked to some of the veteran players as this team losing streak hit ten the other night against the Dallas Stars. Even gave the stars a good run for their money was Dallas ended up getting the two points this one you might definitely start looking back on hopefully, that's not the case. But I was thinking as soon as we saw the way that Brennan lipstick goal scored in the third period since one of these games where it's just not meant to be for the Blackhawks. Well. Know, you dictate your your your future, you dictate the outcome. And the Blackhawks one of the keys to the game was being ready. They did some good things at the beginning above average things. But they they never were in control this game. Then they just didn't seem like they had the energy that jumping in the game that they needed to the afternoon. There's no excuses. I thought the Blackhawks top players all had off games here. You just look at some of the numbers. Patrick Kane was minus three at six shots a bunch of those came early on on the man the Blackhawks had the man advantage when he was in the box in the first period. He was very quiet. A just an off game. You didn't see Patrick Kane? Make the plays that you would normally think you'd have been used to make seeing him make.
