"About it is that it solves both an immediate and long -term problem. First, retailers loved curbside pickup, but the labor to make it convenient was too expensive. Instant pickup solves this for them. But instant pickup also solves a much bigger problem. DoorDash president, Christopher Payne, has said that the hardest problem in automated logistics is that the first 100 and the last 100 feet is impossible to meaningfully close through automation today. Instant pickup solves this as well. Once an order enters the system in back of house, it can then be quickly sent to any portal on that network to be handed off to a customer, delivery driver, or eventually self -driving car, drone, or even directly into a city's pipe dream network, all without a human in the loop. He goes on to say that they will launch instant pickup by the end of the year, and that's more locations and partners soon. But of course, they have a lot to learn. So it's clear it's very, very, very much a pilot, but really interesting technology nonetheless. And this is happening right near you in Ohio. Are you going to go, Mike? Yeah, well, I would love to go. I mean, I should clarify these autonomous robot delivery kiosks. It actually hasn't been announced where they'll be tested, but Wendy's has even more technology that they've recently announced, and that is going to be in Ohio. Oh, OK. OK. Like what? Well, the technology involves AI. Of course it does, right? Everybody has to have an AI strategy these days, it seems. So why not Wendy's? Well, yeah, that's true. That's true. Anyway, here's a Yahoo news segment with more on what this all means for Wendy's. Wendy's is partnering with Google Cloud to bring AI to its drive -throughs. Now, this is called Wendy's Fresh AI. The pilot kicks off in June in Columbus, Ohio, area at a company -operated restaurant. Brooke DePalma is here with those details. Brooke, it sounds exciting. Good afternoon. It certainly does sound exciting. Pretty here. interesting I'm eager to see how exactly it works. But as you noted, this is one of the first partnerships that have come out of this collaboration between Google Cloud and Wendy's. That partnership began in 2021. This is called Wendy's Fresh AI. The first pilot of Wendy's Fresh AI sets launch in June in Columbus, Ohio, near its headquarters in Dublin, Ohio. Now, in addition to that, the company wants you to know that the AI technology has the ability to understand made -to -order requests, which they say includes billions of different combinations. For example, if a customer asks for a large milkshake, this technology will know that they're asking for a frosty. In addition to that, they said that it'll be as natural as interacting with employees, eager to see if customers think so as well. And in this pilot, customers can expect a female voice. Now, what you also need to know is that Wendy's expects here to improve speed, accuracy, and consistency with this automated technology. And based on this pilot, Wendy's is looking for a few key things. In addition to that drive -through speed, the customer is also taking a closer look at order averages. They hope to see a boost in sales with upselling opportunities that the AI technology will offer, like larger sizes, asking customers perhaps if they want a frosty with their orders, in addition to daily specials. And this comes as drive -through remains a key opportunity for Wendy's. About 75 % to 80 % of Wendy's customers prefer drive -through. That's a big jump compared to roughly two -thirds before the COVID -19 pandemic. And Wendy's hoping to be not only a game changer here, but a leader in AI technology in the drive -through. OK, so Wendy's coming in hot 2023. They've got autonomous delivery robots and now AI order takers. Well, yeah, I mean, you got to upsell those frosties, right? I mean, I guess so. But it sort of makes sense, I suppose. I mean, do you need a human to actually take the order from people? I suppose if an AI system could easily take the order, do so accurately. Maybe not, right? At least they wouldn't have to deal with an AI robot calling off last -minute and leaving them short -staffed. Yeah, well, that's true. Although the accuracy of taking orders, that's something to keep an eye on. Because Wendy's actually isn't the first food service company to use AI bots inside of the restaurants. There have been others, especially these days, when AI is all what anybody wants to talk about. Let's go back to that Yahoo news segment. We're going to hear a little bit more about other companies using AI today. We heard McDonald's mention it in their earnings call. But in addition to that, they also teamed up with IBM back in 2021 to further accelerate and to development and deployment of their automated voice ordering technology. We've heard some customer feedback about the accuracy of it. A bit of a rough start there. Wingstop in March partnered with AI voice startup Converse. Now they're running a pilot where they're using voice AI -powered virtual assistants to take customers' phone orders at select locations. We're also seeing Yum! brands using recommended ordering to understand how much food is needed at restaurants. And Chipotle using AI for kitchen management to streamline operations. They also introduced Chippy the Robot and what they call an AI kitchen assistant to make chips. Wait a minute, Chippy the Robot? Yes, Chippy the Robot. Here's Brian Sazi from Yahoo Finance with more on Chippy and his employer, Chipotle. They have linked up with a company called Miso Robotics to launch Chippy at their Irvine, California. You can see an actual human chef cutting limes inside Chipotle. And there is Chippy the Magical Robot here that will make Chipotle's chips inside of its test facilities in Irvine, California. Now Chippy is going to find his way into a new Southern California Chipotle restaurant. And so that's what it's all about? Finding a way to get around the lack of staff willing to work? I know that's a hot topic these days. Yeah, well, I'm sure it's a part of it. I mean, they'll say they want to reduce the strain on the staff that they have to make it a better work experience for them. But you know, when Chippy's making the chips, the other staff can be empowered to do their jobs better. But that's just me, you know, being a Chipotle executive, making a quote right there. But let's be real, right? These types of things, they're partly tech advances, but they're also cost saving measures, right? I mean, the more tech they can implement, the less staff they need. And with the cost of staff rising, initiatives like this really help. Well, look, we should take a break here. When we come back, we'll go from Chippy to Flippy. Yes, Flippy is a thing, but we're gonna break first and we'll get to Flippy. All right, let's do it. Before the break, we heard about some new tech advancements that Wendy's was making with Autonomous Robots and AI. But these advancements in tech, particularly with the robots, it's nothing new in food service. We heard about other companies dipping their toes in the fryer. I see what you did there, Michael. Dad's got a dad joke, Michael, right? Anyway, we heard about McDonald's and Chipotle and, you know, Chipotle has Chippy. But did you know White Castle, they have Flippy? And you're sure you're not making this up? I'm not making this up at all. Here's a CNBC special segment called, Will Robots Replace the Food Workers with More on Flippy? With its mechanical arm and using computer vision technology, Flippy can cook everything from french fries and onion rings to cheese sticks. White Castle said it plans to add 100 Flippies to its kitchens nationwide. We used to need two people to operate that french fry area during peak hours, and now we are able to only have one person operate in that area. Fast food jobs are demanding, quick moving, and sometimes even dangerous. But not for robots. When you look at the restaurant industry, it's a little bit late to the party at adopting automation and robotics in particular. That was Mike Bell. Not Mike Belsito, me, but Mike Bell. Mike Bell is the CEO of Miso Robotics, the company behind the technology of both Chippy and Flippy. You realize this is starting to sound like an April Fool's episode, right, Mike? I know, but it's all real. It's all real. In fact, Mike Bell, as we heard, he'd argue that fast food is actually late to the game in implementing robotic technology into its processes. Let's go back to that CNBC segment and let's learn a little bit more about Miso Robotics. We're going to hear from Rob Anderson, one of the other co -founders, and the head of mechanical engineering, as well as Mike Bell, their CEO, once again in this clip. Miso Robotics got its start in 2016 with a handful of engineers in a Pasadena, California garage. Two years later, the company launched Flippy at a nearby Kalaburger restaurant. Flippy's first job was turning over a hamburger patty after it was placed on a grill by a human chef. But the company quickly pivoted to fried foods, rolling out a portable fryer station for baseball games at Dodger Stadium. This was really the peak throughput test for us. Can Flippy keep up with in -between innings at a Dodger game and everybody goes to the concession stand? Can we meet that demand? In 2021, Miso launched Flippy 2 using a mounted rail system, AI, and computer vision technology that can identify and track food as it moves through the structure. Although it has a camera, tablet, and robotic arm, engineers say the real tech is in the software. The hard thing to get right about this product is having the computer vision, the algorithms that plan the cook cycle, and the software that manages the robotic motion to all work together so that it's as reliable as a refrigerator and it does the job. Food is dispensed directly from the freezer into a basket. The robot's computer vision identifies the type of food and places it in the appropriate fryer. Once the food is cooked, the basket is taken out of the fryer, shaken, and dumped into a holding area where it is bagged by a worker. For those of us who have been in a restaurant, this is exactly the same process that is done today by a human. He's constantly playing like a multi -frame game of chess in his mind, understanding where to be next so his sequence of movements is precise and he doesn't undercook over cooked food. It's interesting. In the video, which I encourage everyone to go online and watch again, the segment is Will Robots Replace the Food Workers? You can see this futuristic arm flipping burgers and dropping fries into a fryer even. Yeah, it's pretty fascinating to watch Flippy do his work. And while I never got to see Flippy in real life, I did get to personally witness robots doing their thing on the Bowling Green State University campus last year when I took my son to see a football game. I'm a BG alum and I enjoy going back time to time for, you know, football games, hockey games, that sort of thing. And what were the robots doing? Serving up beer on the quad. That sounds like a college thing that robots might do these days. Well, they weren't doing that. Or really, I mean, maybe they were doing that. They weren't specifically beer robots, but they were food delivery robots. And they were these small little almost like tank -like vehicles, not any bigger than, say, an oversized package. They're just rolling around on campus, bringing food from nearby restaurants right to students on campus. Here's a story on that program at BGSU from News 5, which is an ABC affiliate right near me, actually, in Cleveland, Ohio. This is back from 2021. BGSU was the first university in Ohio to offer this robot food delivery service to students and staff back in March 2020. In the works for years, they launched right before the pandemic hit and folks started hunkering down. I think it's one of those cool things that BGSU was at the right place at the right time. It's a partnership between the university's dining service, Chartwells, and Starship Technologies. The little robots go about four miles an hour. They can operate through rain and snow, carrying pizzas, groceries, drinks, you name it. More than a dozen sensors and GPS help guide their paths. Also with the mapping process, they are told where's a safe place to go so they can only cross at certain crosswalks. Sometimes it's really funny to laugh at them because they get stuck or they just sit there and stare at each other. Hey, robots will be robots, right? Robots will be robots. Yeah, they will and they even get into robot staring contests, apparently. Anyway, it's a super interesting program. Definitely one I wish that I had access to when I was back at BG. Yeah, for sure. It's fascinating. And if you were curious, the Buckeye Community Arts Network they actually did a segment on this initiative. Here's BCAN's Ali Ray interviewing John Zachrich, the director of marketing and PR for BGSU. And Ali asked John about what the day in the life is like for these robots. But really they start off about 6 a .m. every day starting over at Dunkin' Donuts. There's a fleet of currently about 55, I believe, that are currently running. So they wake up, get put out into the university. As orders start picking up, you'll see them across campus going to different locations, which is really cool. They run for about from 6 a .m. to a little bit before midnight. And then once they get a little bit before midnight, they head back to their home over near McDonald Residence Hall and they get charged up for the next day. So how do these robots get deliveries? How do they actually get a job? Within iPhone, Android, basically any smartphone, there's an app that students can download, community members can download. And they actually can go through to all of our menus, pick their items. So you can drop the pin of where you'd like your food delivered. Once you drop that and hit go, the process starts. So we have our staff make the food. They place the food inside of the robot. Once it's in the robot, it takes off. The robots are cool. They have six cameras. They travel at a speed of about four to five miles per hour. And they just go along their way. They can sense if there's something around them. They can sense if something's wrong. These robots even start their days off at Dunkin' Donuts. They're just like us, Mike, right? They are, right? It sure seems like it. Anyway, we're going to pause here one more time for a break, and we'll be back with more. OK, before the break, we learned about how robots are taking over the food service world from kitchen assistants like Chippy and Flippy, both creations of Miso Robotics, working at restaurants like Chipotle and White Castle, all the way to food delivery robots on the campus of my alma mater at Bowling Green State University. But what's the inspiration for all these robots? Is it convenience? Is it the cool factor? Could be part of it. But there are others that may say the real inspiration is the bottom line, because the more restaurants invest in robots, the less they'll have to invest in one very expensive cost center, people. Let's go back to that CNBC segment. We're going to learn a little bit more about Miso Robotics and its financial model for its Flippy robot and how that may play a big impact on whether or not fast food restaurants may be less reliant on people in the future. Miso charges restaurants about $3 ,500 a month for a Flippy 2 under its robot as a service model. The company charges an additional fee of about $10 ,000 for installation. By comparison, the median hourly wage of fast food workers in the U .S. is just $12 .07 an hour. There were roughly 11 .7 million restaurant workers in the U .S. in 2022. But Flippy 2 is different. Flippy 2 works around the clock. We have many 24 -hour locations where Flippy 2 is installed. Flippy doesn't call in sick. And there it is. Flippy doesn't call in sick. Works 24 -7. It's the perfect employee, isn't it? I'm sure that's what most food service companies are thinking. And in their defense, there do seem to be fewer people that are willing to take on work lately. I mean, pretty much every fast food restaurant that I drive by seems to be promoting the fact that they need workers. You walk in, they sure seem short staffed. Let's go back to that CNBC segment again, where we're going to hear from various restaurant workers. But meager salaries, fewer teenagers in the workforce, and fear of COVID have been a drain on fast food restaurants. Job openings at restaurants and hotels reached $1 .3 million in November 2022, the 20th consecutive month with over a million vacancies. Bars and restaurants make up about 90 % of those positions. A typical fast food worker makes about $26 ,000 a year compared with a concierge at a hotel who can earn more than $37 ,000. During a pandemic, we face a lot of staff and challenges. And things are better, but there are still challenges with staff in many locations. To assist workers, White Castle added Flippy to take over its fry station. The robot cooks food more consistently and doesn't require time off. And I think some restaurants are also looking at this as a way of, well, this robot is expensive, but is it cheaper than however many employees I would need to hire, especially because a lot of workers have not been sticking around as long as they're used to. Turnover is another headache for the industry. Prior to the pandemic, the restaurant industry faced a workforce turnover of 130%, according to Panera Bread's CFO, Michael Bufano. At the same time, low wage workers made up 43 % of the U .S. workforce. As you look at the labor allocation within the restaurant, that's being able to ship one human from that station somewhere else. And that's saving every single month, probably somewhere around $700 to $900 in actual profit. So yes, hire fewer workers, deal with fewer headaches from your human staff, bring in some robots and profit. Yeah, it's a hard value proposition to ignore, right? Yeah, one thing is for sure. We're going to see more and more of these robots pop up, whether that's in the kitchen or on the streets making deliveries. Or when we pull up to fast food restaurants and they pop up out of these underground tunnels, right? Yeah, I mean, honestly, at this point, who knows where else? It all sounds like the Jetsons, but here it is right now. So we are living in the Jetsons. Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see where things go from here, whether the additional robots means less people, more profits, who knows? But we're going to wrap things up here. We might have to revisit this one maybe in a couple of years, see how things develop. Maybe sooner, honestly. But yes, for Mike Balsito, I'm Michael Saka. You've been listening to Rocketship .fm. "Let's finish it up on the phones 855 to 1 to four CBS 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. Frank is calling from New Jersey. What's up, Frank? Good. You're filling spots, and Jerry and Maggie and Chris Morris. So I remember. Listen to you before the draft. You hated tiled fits right now before Atlanta got rid of Julio Jones. But now after seeing a little bits and pieces here and there, and I'm not really sure they did in the off season, how do you feel about Atlanta with Kyle Pits and Al Calvin Ridley only without Julio? Do they do anything into the interior? The team offensive line like, uh, where do you stand on your feelings on the Falcon? Off season. Um, unsure while their off season don't think it was good enough, and I don't think it was good at all. They were up against that, Frank. Because of the salary cap restrictions. They were in salary cap hell. Which is part of the reason why they had to make a change and see a font. No can adjust and eventually get them out of that. And thank you for the call. But you talk about Kyle pitch. Yeah, he look, He may be an exciting player and everybody's saying always going to be the greatest, you know, Tight end ever. Oh, what a rookie. They're gonna have such a great impact. You still Do not take a tight end number four. Especially when you have as many issues as the Falcons do. That's my problem with it, and you talk about the interior. They're not good on the offensive line that's been their issue. Defensively. They have some talent and they have some speed and they should have been better than what they were under Dan Quinn, and I'm hoping that Arthur Smith nobody's doing and the fact that they have a competent head coach. Should win them more football games. Maybe be a little more balance on offense, but without an offensive line, they're in trouble. They have the quarterback Mike Davis is all right. As far as running back goes, they have a number one receiver with Calvin Ridley. And they have some depth that wide receiver and pits should be a difference maker. But they have way too many issues I'd rather than have drafted either cornerback. Or lineman and offensive lineman. And they couldn't do anything this offseason because they had no money. If you get yourself To appoint as an organization. Where you have to dump The greatest wide receiver in the history of franchise. It's a problem. And it's not like they're totally rebuilding because it's Matt Ryan there. So what are they doing? They're halfway in it. New head coach. Same old quarterback dump. Will Jones. I mean, you want to say that, Okay. They drafted carpets to replace that type of production. I'm not buying that. I would rather build inside out, and that's something that the Atlanta Falcons got away from, and that's why I'm kind of down on them this year. But truth be told. I really don't know what to expect. They had more talent the last couple years. Then their records showed they were better and even just go back Western. Forget the last couple years. They were better and should have been better than what they showed out to be. I'm hoping that with a real head coach He makes a positive difference has a positive impact on Steve is calling from New Jersey. Steve, How are you this morning? Okay? And as he faces the final curtain, Saleh Kata did it way there were many ways you could have gone. Yeah. There were many ways you could have gone with that finale. You know, the final countdown. Um, is the end of the end of the road. Learn in a No. Uh, yeah, right, Right. Oh, my God. We went right into a very nice nice Segway brother. Hey, listen, listen my apology and unlike two of your buddies, Linder and buyers my apology for being in my area sincere, So I do apologize. I hope Mrs Elda, baby and Maddox role to her Well, When you holding up been awhile. Good on all good on the home front, right? We haven't heard from you, Steve. Good to hear from you, though. Yeah, I'll be back up back in the saddle again on the overnights locally, so I'll be a little more dialed in cell. So I just want to touch up. Um I was at let me P s. I know we're running low on time. Have you ever heard of a town called East Quad out note like out by the Hamptons? Yes, I've definitely heard of quads. So I'm assuming I've heard of East Quad. Okay? Yeah. I was out in your neck of the woods for a while. I just got back today. Um 9 11. I want to send all my condolences and thoughts and prayers out to all the You know, not just the people we lost, but also the survivors today we're dealing with. No, it's various cancers and diseases. Morley Asbestos and And all the cleanup crew and first responders and our military. Um, yeah, not just today. Always not just closed today is the 20th anniversary. But I remember where I was. And I remember you had likened it to JFK. I was a little You know, uh but, yeah, I remember my dad waking me up in a panic. Kind of like your sister woke you up. Just some will never, it will never forget ever ever forget so Um That's about all I have. I wanted to touch base on the Jets. I'm afraid Arnold's gonna throw 14. He passes the robbing Anderson. And I'm just afraid, you know? Yeah, like I important to Zach Wilson Fan Club. The kid's got some natural interest. Little things when he rolls out is play fakes is, uh, you know, kids definitely played quarterback for a while. So, um, I think it's kind of refreshing that I don't have to worry about the Mets making the playoffs that's making the playoffs. I don't know if that's disturbing on one hand, which it is now you got to enjoy the Jets. You got to enjoy the Jets season. Steve, Come on, get into a stable, The negativity embrace that. They might actually be good at some point Soon. You got the right head coach. You got the right GM and hopefully you get the right quarterback. I am honor of this some excitement. I just not for this season. I think you know it. Six wins. I'm I'm happy to share. No, I'm I'm ecstatic. Sell. Don't get me wrong. I can't wait for football. But you know any realistic jets and goes as skinny James's producer, Uh, producer James? He's I know he hates the Jets. He thinks he loves him. But he really thinks suggested that his thing? Yeah, as always. We appreciate hearing from you. Thank you for the call. You get back to us. I don't want to hear, though the Jeff van talking about how Sam Donald's going to embarrass them. You saw Sam Donna, you should know better. He stinks. With all due respect, and personally, I think Sam's nice kid, he's just almost that's a fault. He's too nice. Maybe dies,.

The last last year the jets were dead. Last the worst team against opposing tight ends and arnold's been targeted a lot in the preseason so we will move onto the jacksonville. We would play him if he starting right. Yes i think you have to both of these guys quite edwards allaire and barclay. You drafted them so high there in your starting lineup. And even though. I don't think we necessarily expect especially for saquon who's missed the entirety of senses last injury. I don't think we expect a monstrous game. You you pretty much have to plug in leno. Let me throw another player in there for some advice for week one starters. Would you play odell against kansas city and we want. Oh my goodness because you don't have as high of draft investment on odell but at the same time he's supposed to be healthy asking for a friend he is someone that i think you can pivot off of. He's obviously recovering from the knee injury. And i would like to see how he looks in week. One if you have another upset about. Aj green oh my gosh you're literally naming players too. I just can't stand No rob anderson. Yeah or odell. Beckham i would. I would sort of allegation. All i would go all kind marquez. Calloway probably marquis okay. So what a world so you are waiting to see i. What day has there's more options at wide receiver to to take that's fair. I think that's fair. I'm gonna make the. I mean my friends going to make those changes avenue. Ingram has a. He's a long shot to play in the season opener. He's he's not gonna play but he has been doing work off the side of the field. So yeah there was concerned that he was going to put on the short term. I are but i would expect in the back to the giants sooner than later. De'andre swift ready for week. One against the forty niners. According to head coach. Dan campbell the discount that people have been getting on the andrea swift over the last three or four days. This one is is significant. This one is tough. I mean it's. It's clearly been a pretty nasty groin. Injury groin index dot com four swift to have missed this much time. And it's week one. How much work is have to get versus jamal williams. How much work. When they're both healthy. What does that timeshare actually looked like jamal. Williams was the free agent that they they brought in. And the way that dan campbell talked about this backfield. So swift was it was probably a draft a discounts if you you completely our body on the town but that's what the problem will all off season has been for me with the andrea swift. Is it one hundred percent talent. you're you're buying it on talent only and the that can absolutely work but the situation is going to try and drag him down into the muck yeah he. He's one where you certainly got a discount. If he's healthy without a shred of route y- a great pick in fantasy if he's healthy is scary because when you have an entire offseason program missed you. Just can't be sure. And when that news came out this morning. That dan campbell said he's ready to go week one. He's going to be playing. When that. When i before i read the headline i just saw the picture swift. I was like. Oh no what is this like. Oh he's not ready because we just haven't had that information. I would say this is not a good week one matchup and i think that he will get the forty nine against the forty niners and i think he will get less work than you know. What if he was just healthy. This whole camp process the players that i would play ahead of him would be like remo sturt mile sanders against atlanta gus. Edwards against the raiders. If those your decisions then i think you you might have the luxury to wait and see but he's also good pass catcher and he's talented player. Top ten run defense from san francisco last year even with the injuries. So yeah good. Analysis noah fan returned to practice on monday That's good. I can tell you as someone who needs to play him in week one. I was happy to see it because i was clicking through dynasty options like jordan. Akins and dan. Arnold and i wanted to play no fantasy now i think i will. Yeah for redraft. It's been so difficult to decide what to do. I mean you drafted no offense to play him and it would be scary proposition. But are you confident. Like let's say gronk is on the waiver. Wire andy and you're going week one. Would you just hold fan. Because yes draft capital and play him week wanner. Yeah i'm a little worried about fan. We whether or not even if he's active just because albert oh is going to be available and contributor they may share some time so i i would you be willing to drop vamp for gronk on the waivers. No i don't think so. I guess in that situation. If you're worried about losing a season-long tight end for you. Then you just play him. And even if it's a point or two difference Hunter henry says he's expecting to play in week one as well. Sonia michelle on track to play for the rams in week one against the bears Jamison crowder might play my get cleared from the covet lists. He might yep. Oh this is interesting news For from a standpoint of crowder is out. I think elisa more than goes right into starting as the slot wide receiver for the jets which could be a problem for jamison crowder if allies moore's able to get out there and showcases talent sooner than later dak full go who've who are thursdays week one opener. Which is what we see. We wanna see brady deck on thursday night however Zack martin is is not going to play on thursday night. He's on the cova list. That's the cowboys. Offensive lineman zack. Martin tampa bay was the number one run defense in the nfl last year. So maybe temporary. Your zeke expectations. Yeah zeke zeke. It's it's not good knowing repeated. Well i i started to try to say it. And i didn't like it. zeke stations. Low usually you liked it. I liked lasagna. Let it process. Now you're now you don't like it certainly the noser going. I don't really wasn't supposed to be talked about ever again but he is i was. I was going to bring this up and now i am He is a trade for candidate after week. One absolutely zeke. Because i think some people maybe don't remember how dominant tampa bay's defense was against the run last year if you lose a an all world guard and then you go up against that match up. It's possible that he looks really bad this week. And if he does i think there are plenty of leagues. Where zeke dropped to someone. You know some some leagues. Someone is calling the shot on grabbing zeke. But there were concerns of is is this the beginning of the end for for zeke. He's on his second contract and if he comes out and looks like a turn in week one. I think you're gonna have some managers that are really scared of. Oh no is is. He not what i thought he was. And that's when i would scoop up. Tampa bay gave up the fewest rushing yards the fewest rushing touchdowns in the lowest yards per carry in the nfl s year. So as they returned all their all their starters yeah. I mean the on the other side of the coin is zeke. Comes out and gives you a good game against tampa watch out because the i mean. That's certainly possible. It's not like they don't give anything so is going to be a fun thursday night game. Tyrod taylor the officials started for the texans. Goodness gracious which means that to shawn. Watson will sit and watch yeah. Ab from home on. Sundays doesn't just mean then a couple of weeks. Whoever the starting quarterback is for the texans is going to be awesome. Because i mean you had baiter baker coming after a couple of weeks of ira. Exactly just herbert come in. I mean when when tyrod starts and then leaves if there's a rookie behind him foof is he just walking around protecting his lungs right now. Isn't that what happens. Yes he got the the rib shot and oh man punctured his lung. I i guess. I'm happy for tyra that he gets the opportunity because i sat a few taken away from him due to injury. And he seems like he's a great deal. Dude davis possible situation ever do johnson was signed by jacksonville to the practice squad. Okay i don't know if there's anything else significant to talk about is there anything has happened this morning. Brooke that we need to discuss nothing yet. Okay.

"rob anderson" Discussed on Get Up!

"Drafted justin feels to today was to have just the fields ready to start week one. That was his job because he knew the talent lended itself to be better at that position. But you'll go here you go. You went matinee. You need to jump in the same boat with matinee. And y'all go with. Nick foles ended just the field. Chill out and watch the little perfect right so we agree. I'm right as we continue in just a moment here. Marcus spears is fired up as you can tell for the start of the nfl season. He's got to do. He's going to give you the five things you absolutely need to be paying attention to headed into week one. Don't miss the fundamental list. Three always the podcast. Come check out the new black history. Always podcast with me. Clinton gates we at the undefeated telling stories that remind people who we are as a culture is a living breathing entity in all parts of american society. It's not just history books and social media y'all we contain multitudes and everyone deserves to be heard so listen. Follow unless abba conversation. Listen or follow black history always wherever you get your podcast. We are back on. Get up in. Today's who had goo brings us the fundamentalist and it is the five things that he marcus. Spears is most excited to see week. One of this. Nfl didn't take it away. Five gonna start off real pedagogy. Andy dalton okay. Listen this is one of the situations that has frustrated me for an entire off season and even until up until the draft. So everybody's said especially matinee has said this is the best situation. Andy the starter. Where we see dammit. I'm excited to see it. Not for the best reasons okay four. I'm going sam. Darnold and sam darnold plays the jets and you yes. I'm well aware of okay all right but now he's in carolina with joe brady and we talked about competence g with this new york jets. Coach stab now you go to carolina with met rule and job right and you have christian. Mccaffrey bag rob anderson. Just signed this deal. This offensive line was real reinforcing bolstered. Now we find out. If andy sam darnold is a really good football player. I think he's in a good situation. You knew i wouldn't put any validity to that situation. He was in new york all right. Three guys just talked about christian mccaffrey. We forget forgetting this quarterback compass running back compensation that this was the best of a mall a couple of years ago. And you think about what he is going to do for this offense where joe brady not having them. Last year for majority of the season really limited. What this all fits could do. And teddy bridgewater and carolina. Panthers team were in a lot of games in the fourth quarter last year. This is a sneaky. Good football team. I want everybody to know so having cnc back if he's back to form. Sam donor has a weapon to help him. Look like a better quarterback. The second thing. I'm most excited about seeing. Is the dallas cowboys. Revamped defense with dan quinn. I don't know what the hell don't happen all i do. Is they know what they're doing. Okay and this is a conversation. I've been screaming about this. We've been having this dallas cowboy compensation we play in the nfl. And you don't know what the hell you doing. mike nolan. Don't know what he doing you to give up a thousand yards a gain so at least i know these guys would be lined up with a great understanding of what their responsibilities on. Then you find out if they can actually play and if they can't play if we can't hold up lots if we can't get blocks tackles in the run game if our linebackers free to hit the ball carrier we just suck anyway from a man standpoint. I don't believe that to be the case. I think they're gonna be tremendously better because they don't know what the hell they're doing g number one for me. This is one of the unsung stories about the all season. It's jameis winston jameis winston back. I said this two years ago on this show jameis. Winston needs a year to watch football without the pressure of playing football and all of the fruits that we've seen so far in the preseason proves that him sean payton has poor enough to change him into a really good quarterback. It's only about the turnover was. That's it because elite is what dame as winston is. If he takes care of the football he said. I don't need to be batman all the time. sometimes. I need to take check down. Sometimes i need to ball out of bounds. Gee that's all. I wanna see from jameis winston. The first third six the first third and fifteen is he going to force it. Or is he going to say malay- cam jordan and these guys come out and give me the ball back in order to try to get another drive in the possession with a kick jameis. Winston does that new orleans is further ahead than we think they are. I'm with you completely. I love.
