"There, saying maybe mid week. Meanwhile, the Arlington site is set to open tomorrow. Administering the Visor vaccine. We're hearing there was a collision last night in Bremerton, involving a driver in a pedestrian pedestrian who was hit a 16 year old girl who apparently walking with another person and a bicyclist on kid. Step way at Northlake wait Northwest. Riverton Police say an 85 year old woman was driving south bound on North Lake Way approaching the intersection. We're in. For some reason the driver left the lane hit the 16 year old and then continued over Iraq and bank mint into the parking lot below. No word of the drivers sustained any injury. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. We were told she was treated and later released the second pedestrian, apparently sustaining minor injuries after being hit by debris. The bicyclist was not injured. Looks like the State patrol now will handle that investigation. Coma News did confirm of the Washington Department of Transportation State Route one of nine year Hoke William closed once again because of additional slide issues near that area of Mile Post, three just west of the city. "Indiana sports talk brought to you by Indian, a donor network in the banks of the Wall Bash tournament. Park heritage. 82 45 winners over Riverton Park Rich Schelsky joins me, coach. Congratulations on the win. Thanks, Bob. We're we're happy for excited, excited that we're getting a play right now. You should be and you're also 12th into a There's That's another bonus for you right now. Yeah, we're we're gonna be a work in progress way do have four starters from a really, really good team last year, but two eggs loaded this year, so we're not gonna pay too much attention to the rankings, probably until we get the march, but it's good that we're getting recognition. But we we've got a long ways to go. But, um You know, I think we've gotten better from last weekend this weekend, so We got another big game. Another tonight with the rivalry game against the You know, our county County rival. And then tomorrow night of across the river rival was a man. And so you know, we're we've got a tough one. Tomorrow night. They'll be jacked up high to place we're gonna have to bring her best effort. Well, I hope you bring the same defensive ever to head tonight, too. With you tomorrow night. Yeah, way. We're pressure definitely caused him some trouble. And you know, in Riverton parts defense. They graduated a bunch of guys from last year's team. So you know we're really athletic, and when we can get out and pressure and And and wreak some havoc. Can we weaken? Turn turn defense the possessions into some points pretty quickly, and that's what happened tonight. We're gonna need definitely some or the same tomorrow night. All right, Who plays well for you tonight? Well, Signor Reilly Ferguson, who really came in strong at the end of last year. Hey, came up Big Force had 24 points and at five threes and He struggled both games last weekend that went and I think he was like one of 10 from three last weekend, and, you know, so it's great to see him bounce back and find his shooting stroke and junior Noble Johnson, who started divorce last year, but was more of our Defensive stopper. He's head back to back games where he had 18 and 19. And right now, at least at least in this part of the state, I would consider him definitely one of the one of the most improved basketball players in the state. And so those two guys really were big for us, and hopefully we get get the same efforts from them. And you know our our other two big main guys counter Davidson, Christian Johnson. They'll be there when we need him, and that's the good thing about this team. Rich shell skis. The basketball coach should park heritage in the banks of the wall bash. Tournament. They beat part. Riverton Park 82 45 taken on South a million tomorrow night Rich Thanks for the call. Good luck tomorrow night. Thanks, Bob. Thank you. North Davey 60 to 35 winners over Springs Valley, North Davis, number 10 and one A breakdown. Rampal joins me, Coach. Thanks for calling Congratulations on the wind. I get touchy couch. No problem and good way. Start our season. Finally, we think about a week and a half late here, but we got it in and Good play tonight. You know what you know, Coaches. I have a very simple theory. You want to take care of problems in our world Put coach is in charge. Put teachers in charge. You know what I mean? Put teachers and coaches in charge because we're the most flexible people you're gonna you're gonna ever meet. We understand how to get people to work together and we can adjust on the fly. You'd throw it, throw anything at us, you want to, and we'll figure it out. Well, I like I definitely like how you put that and that's you know, that's one thing we're I've come out of my comfort zone. And you know, a lot of our coaches like to be prepared and overly prepared, and that's out the window these days and you know up until Thursday afternoon. This week, we were playing shoals and bright that they would get a phone call and said We can't play shoals. Now we're gonna go to Spring Valley and play and it's one of those things. A zoo coach We're gonna have to change. And like you said, we're gonna have to be flexible with this season and we're gonna have played who we can when we can and and just go with it, And it was a lot of fun tonight to get that done. I think if you if your foundation like it is with you is a solid defense and you go out there and you when you follow your defensive principles, your office will come along and defensively you know you were great tonight. Well, you're right. You know, we lost four seniors last year that we're three year starters and Brian. So we We've got some some reloading to do, but we've got some awful smart kids and like you said. I mean, this is my 21st year here in North Davies and kids know the system and know how we do things, and we just kind of plug plug in from some new guys on go for it. It was. It was a good night. That said, you know, just show up and play and do what we do. So that's that's exactly what happened tonight. All right, who plays well for you tonight? Well, we had We had several contributions. Defensively, we really played well. We have two senior Psych Woolford and Bryce Cone's really clamp down on the other team's best player. Darren Longer also did that as well. Jalen Mullan and Lance and Logan Wilson are sophomores Did the bulk of our scoring tonight s O. A total team effort is probably gonna be that way all year. Big win or Davis 60 to 35 over Springs Valley. They are ranked number 10 and single leg brindle rippled. Always great to talk to you. Thanks so much for the call. Good luck next time. Well, thank you, Coach. Appreciate it. Appreciate it very much. Ryan Osborne joins me the head coach of caramel there, Number two and 48 tonight. They beat Lawrence Central 64 35. Coach. Congratulations. Thanks, Coach it Ze. Great to hear your voice again. You great to hear you. You know I love you. You're one of your one of ours. You know that? You know, I was just hoping that we would get to this point. It's just exciting. The build a rolled out and play again. I would tell you this that and you know, you know me. You've known me for a while and.

"Bernard Riverton we are very fortunate today to have someone who I call my congressperson I've been with her for many years I've seen her dedication to her decency and she has a voice that is most refreshing I'm talking about congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney and she was instrumental in getting the never get education has passed in the house and I was going to be in the Senate and Carolyn Maloney is the first woman to represent the twelfth congressional district here in New York City she's also the chairperson of the committee on oversight and reform welcome congresswoman Maloney good to have you with us my honor to join America's rabbi in America is a Reverend you know in the in the community and asking for their help in passing this important bill well I'm glad you called us America's clergy because of we said that yeah that we can't and you know hopefully you'll get that passed as well that that clergy title yes so I I remember standing with you it was at the center of Jewish history he was surrounded by number of Jewish leaders and survivors of all the camps and here we are the this year commemorating the seventy fifth anniversary of liberation of Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camp and you said that it would be an up hill battle for some reason there were those who would not in favor of passage of this act which I don't understand but you wouldn't give up and here we are now you're past it now it's on the way to the Senate we not only pass it Reverend we passed overwhelmingly it was one of the few truly bipartisan SAP's efforts we had three hundred and ninety three voted for it only five voted against it it's now in the Senate there thirty six co sponsors twenty one Democrats fourteen ours Republicans and one independent so it's on the passage if we continue focusing on it and working on it and we need to get past that and get it to the president's desk for his signature you know this is so important because one of the things that I learned from our Judeo Christian faith I'm giving I'm I'm in the right I really but those words rehearse these things in the ears of your children and pass it from generation to generation and the only way we can preserve an understanding of horrific history that's taken place is to put it in our educational system in some way according to surveys in the U. S. and Canada they've shown that you know a lack of knowledge is shocking lack of knowledge about the Holocaust especially amongst millennials we're having that problem even with African American history where young kids don't even know who Rosa Park City I think history in general I think you'd be asked people about important facts in history Jewish Christian American whatever you're going to get a blank stare you're going to get a non response what's your reaction to these realities well the reality is to create a federal database and pleasant plans from kindergarten through high school that teachers can access across the country already twelve states including my state New York currently require a Holocaust education and the bill that we just passed the never gain education actor clearly says that it's not enough and to recognize the dates of Auschwitz and the numbers and so forth but we need to understand the atrocities that led to this and this bill we need to not only remember those lost but we need to honor those alive and and maybe hard to believe the pew research center building on your your your research Reverend and and rabbi they recently issued a report that fewer than half of Americans surveyed knew how many Jews were killed in the Holocaust another report found that only thirty eight percent of American teens knew the Nazi's killed six million Jews and only a third knew that Hitler was democratically elected most people thought this car was not a takeover a coup so the best way to I know to help people remember the Holly cast is to hear firsthand from the people who went through it deceived good lesson pant plans and get them out to them this is a bill will be get it allocates ten million a year I'm not right ten million over five years the the the never again Education Act will be housed in the Holocaust memorial museum just a few blocks from the capitol and it will give teachers the resources and training they need to teach our children the important lessons of tolerance understanding acceptance working together the consequence of intolerance and hate that led to the Holocaust so soon one of things that I know people will ask about is the the database the fact that the materials are in this database is is excellent but now it's going to go from there into the student's minds and I think people will be concerned who's teaching how is it being taught how do we know that a lesson plan will become something that is going to be meaningfully presented a teacher's going to have some some kind of training as well particular training so they'll know how to teach it best well that there is a ten million dollar allocation over five years ten billion a year to be spent helping teachers and promoting this and are working to a train teachers so that that's built in and what's so inspiring to me is that I'm going around the city talking about this and some private sector leaders have come in and said that they want to match it all I can say as a former teacher is that one of the hardest things is writing lesson plans particularly if you don't have an in depth understanding of the issue so this would be very very helpful to issues that have curriculum that has been tested and is good I have read the curriculum for New York City and I I think it's absolutely excellent so to have all that work already prepared that they can access and have people at the museum that they can talk to the museum already has an impressive collection of educational materials this will build on what they already have and we should all thank the Holocaust museum for accepting this responsibility and being the center of this education piece for all Americans so let me ask you a question of the question congressman according to the anti defamation league anti semitic incidents in United States of spike roughly about sixty percent between twenty sixteen and twenty seventeen and the NYPD figures show over a hundred and eighty anti semitic incidents in twenty eighteen which is a twenty two percent spike from twenty seventeen and thirty eight point six percent increase from twenty sixteen how was your bill the never again Education going to help these realities well I think the reality is that we have learned is that we have to speak up and we have to be speak out loudly that complacency is dangerous and my city in New York we had over thirteen attacks within a week period including the the terrible anti semitic attack in a rabbi's home during the festival of Hanukkah where they literally had a machete attacking people building on the worst attack in our history the horrific shooting at the trees synagogue in Pittsburgh the most deadly assault ever against the Jewish community in American history eleven people died all these are horrific but after we we will March together and I rabbi static spoke at that and I need March with all of us and it was heartening to see him there and to participate in a solitary March in New York following these attacks and I hope we can work together with that same spirit of solidarity moving port I I think when you have a tax we have to stand up we have to speak out and we have to take action and certainly people children and people are not taught they're not born with hatred there caught it so we let's teach love understanding acceptance of working together in a positive way I've never seen this type of activity in my life in New York never and now unfortunately it's in the neighborhood in which I live blocks from my home in a park in the in the youth.

"He sent in his audio to ask wreck at RIC Edelman dot com. You can do the same. Here's what Bill last. This is Bill from riverton Utah journey rethink show Utah about the mean. The society in the United States. What I do now is cashless, but I do have some filter coins. They've been case having the barter for emergency food. Then I realized if the government were creed that are point of the realm. Under. On January first I worry that we might wanna feet for millions. The chain. Crypto currencies. So what is the current truth? What do I need to know? Earn the block. We need to buy currency ahead of the curve will earn see go up in value. And what happens or go wrong with the exchange from hard cash over into? Lots of great questions Bill, and yeah, you notice that I've been talking a lot on the program about crypto assets and blockchain because I am convinced. These are the future at some point in the future. We will be thoroughly cashless society the currency in your pocket will no longer be legal tender. We will be using nothing but digital currencies. And as you noted most of us are pretty much there already. I mean, how much cash do you have in your pocket right now? And how often do you use cash to make a transaction? You're using credit cards and debit cards. You're using pay pal? You're doing wire transfers, you're doing automatic Bank deposits. You know, your paycheck is going directly to your Bank. You're having auto Bill to all major payments, like mortgages and utilities and car payments. And so we're already largely a cashless society. But it's not official yet. We can still amply use cash. But I'm convinced at some point in the future. There's an argument as to whether. That'll be in the next three to five years or in the next fifty years big debate going on as to when we will be purely crypto environment. There's also the question of what will be that crypto currency will the fed simply create a crypto currency that turns the dollar into digital or will bitcoin, which is the leading current digital asset. I'll be the one that is used by everybody simply because it's got a big head start and wide adoption wider. I should say everybody else. So which is going to be and therefore should you buy bitcoin now in anticipation of the day when that becomes the default currency in the United States in elsewhere, lots of great questions? And unfortunately today, we have a lot more great questions than we have great answers. So for that reason, my advice is the following. Increase your knowledge and education about blockchain and crypto blockchain is the technology that allows bitcoin and other crypto assets to exist, and there are a couple of thousand crypto assets barium lake coin the list goes on and on and on so gain knowledge and understanding which will help you decide if you want to own bitcoin or any other crypto assets, I personally own crypto bitcoin blockchain a few others. I also I'm personally invested in a few funds of blockchain crypto. But that's just me. I'm I've been studying this for many many years, and so I'm willing to do it, gene. And I are confident that it's appropriate within our personal portfolio. But are we recommending this to folks, not really why extraordinarily risky? We have no idea if any of these currencies are going to survive or whether it will be replaced by something else. We have no idea which. Digital currency is going to be the one that is used in the future. There's a technology rest. There's a risk of being hacked. There have been lots of stories of that having occurred already. So there are a lot of downsides and we've seen massive volatility. Bitcoin was about twelve hundred bucks in the summer of seventeen rose up to twenty thousand box and then crashed down to three thousand bucks massive volatility. And so that's not really appropriate for a whole lot of folks. So if you're going to do bitcoin, a I make sure you get a lot of education understanding be minimize the amount of money you put into this see recognized. There's going to be a lot of volatility along the way and D therefore plan to hold for a very long period of time. And e finally be prepared to lose it all so if you're willing to do all the above then. Okay. Sure. Go ahead. I think for most folks, we should sit and wait four bitcoin ETF if and when that ever happens it'll be. Easier to buy it'll be a regulated security, which will add some levels of confidence for investors. There is no such investment on the market yet. The SEC keeps saying no to these. So our attitude is get yourself educated..

Germs In The Bathroom

"They worried that the putrid gas could harm your great great great grandfather's health as he sat on the toilet reading the Sunday paper. But after the bacteriological revolution fears about sewer gases gave way to concerns about germs collecting in bathrooms. One casualty of this war on germ 's was the occupant bathroom because what late nineteenth century home wasn't complete without a bathroom with drapes. Wood cabinets and carpets. That's right carpeted bathrooms. Do the bacteriological revolution would flush out, carpets drapes and porous would cabinet Trie in favor of free. Standing white porcelain toilets tile floors and porcelain, sinks and showers would eventually become mainstays and to make sure that your white toilet didn't have any streaks. Engineers also came up with a more powerful to officially dispose of waste in. The new porcelain Phil bathroom. There was nowhere for germs to hide and the bathroom became a centerpiece in the war on germs on average people flush. Six to seven times per day. So next time you do remember that our fear of germs and some pretty gross carpeting helped make the bathroom. What it is today? That's Michael you Dell from Drexel University in Philadelphia and much of the research for his story comes from Nancy tomes book the cost of germs. Speaking of germs. We got a question from a listener here's Mike from riverton, New Jersey. Of recycling. I recently bought some sandwich field stores.
