"Released in 1968, Born to be wild was a huge hit for Steppin Wolf. And we appreciate you joining us this weekend on news radio 6 10 w. T V. N. It was written by a guy named Mars Bonfire. Who wasn't a member of Steppin Wolf, but his brother happened to be the drummer in the band. He actually wrote a few songs for Steppin Wolf. But when he was writing this one, he had just purchased his very first car, a secondhand Ford Falcon, and he also saw an advertisement for some motorcycle. You're born toe on the road, something like that. That's where he got the idea for the song because he felt for him having his first car being able to drive around whenever and wherever he wanted. He had freedom. This has me feeling a little nostalgic. Greg. Kristen, what were your very first cars? A rust bucket, but it was a 67 Cheval. So that's a classic cars crest. But yeah, but it was a kind of a Batalik blue. Slash rust. So my first car my dad, help me find an ad in the newspaper and the plain dealer. I'm from Cleveland. And it was an older lady who have retired and she was going to get a new car for retirement, which I understand now because so many of our clients do that see a title in I went to go see it. It was a 1988 Honda Civic hatchback gold. And she just was the sweetest, almost like my grandma talking to me and gave it to me for $2000. And I'm telling you, this car was like brand new. It had the crank windows and they had a little Junkie Little radio, but it was nice. It was a really nice first car. So within a week, rock cracked the windshield and I paid cash with my own money for this car before he even had my driver's license. I saved up baby sitting money, and within a year less than a year of having the car Got totaled. I was in a 60 car pile up. Oh, my gosh. So no, it was. I think it was 60 cars was the final tally. It was on the hill. Some from Cleveland originally, and then I lived in Paynesville right outside of my high school, Riverside High school where I went to school, there is a bridge and it it was probably a mile and a half two miles long over a river. And it always Isis first, you know, as bridges do, and it was a cold to know we nasty day in November and one car stopped. And it was a domino effect all the way across the bridge. It was horrible. And the car totaled. And you know, I got $4000 for that car. Same things. Harmony, my feet. Scar. I think I paid maybe $1000 for my hard earned money. My dad knew a wholesaler got a good deal. More than double my money, totaled it within the year, and that's the dangerous thing about teenage drivers when we look back, No. And now Greg drives faster than either one of us Christians always after me. But what was your nickname? So That crash my step. Mom's parents drove by and saw on thought. Oh, that looks like Kristin's car and then called my parents and my parents knew about the stupid accident before I even had a chance to tell them because I didn't have a cell phone back then, you know, so my nickname Growing up was crash. All mine was Kirby. So that s 00 Don't get your way, lived on six acres outside of gross city and one of Christians, sweet friends. Julie was going to send her flowers. Well, this flower shop whatever. I don't remember the fire stop, but they send this unmarked van about this. So Kristen gets home with the kids, and there's this Weird truck or van in our driveway. She hasn't recognized and our house had been broken into before out there, So she started to worry. So she gets there. She jumps out of the car to go check it out. But the thing she forgot to do was put the car apart. Oh, bless your heart. Kristen. Is this real? So the kids are in the back in the car keeps rolling and our property was lying with pine trees. So so she did a field goal right between the pine trees and just got a lot of your car. That was your car. Right in between was I mean, this is awful and everyone was fine obviously are also good. But I hear the crash and I'm thinking what the role was that night turned around and the guys just staring looking, and I turned around in my car is literally wedged. Between two trees, huh? Took out both mirrors busted up both fan doors, fenders. It was bad and they should have totaled that car and they did it. Another totaled will just be helpful for your insurance for sure. Just 30 e used to have a colleague and radio that the traffic and his name was crash. I feel like there's a job for you if you're interested. Question are we talking about market.

I think all of us we use our brains would say that is not for the cops not now okay this cannot be a useless cannot be their problem and it's certainly we're not going to collect any money. are the federal reserve is cut interest rates again and the president's not happy about horses not I thought that economy I see here the phone calls all of you would tell me how the economy is going to be four five percent I remember hearing that all the war you don't get it how. here's the latest project you know why the interest rates are cut because the economy is not doing enough. so they do it for stimulation that is correct thank you. economic updated economic an interest rate forecast issued by the fed the show that only seventy seven of seventeen officials for see at least one additional rate cut this year so the projections are the economy to grow at a modest to percent this year two point one percent this year to percent next year and one point nine percent to twenty twenty one people used to call and tell me the tribes said it was going to be four five percent because he makes the economy that's what the calls used to be he promised he makes it really did you make this it seems like this is going to be good for us the consumers it's a time to refinance yeah because the federal fund rate is now hovering between one point seven five percent and two percent it's time to read it yeah you know there'll be no doubt I'm not a huge just generally speaking huge batteries are fan but this is this is what they're there for something happened here you try to fix it there something happens here you try to moderate their. no that's because the economy naturally has slowed the president doesn't make the economy are you going to blame him for this I bet you don't. doesn't make the economy. right so he's not happy I I don't know. I know what you want to do with the guys the ice water to realize that remain there is a board it's not just like one economic czar that wonders around and waves the magic wand I mean the person is arguably one of the most important people in all of. all of government you wanna call government but there is a board. so there are quite a few minds that did work on this yeah they have a they have a vote on it too right this is a person who. specifically it's one of those important things the president does is a point this person. so I don't know what he does with him I'm I'm quite sure if I understand the rules whether he can remove it. so when. it is what it is. our member the teacher in I believe it is fort worth the the loving teacher that. high school teacher who are not long ago according to fox four the you're in fort worth Georgia Clarke she's the one who wrote a letter to Donald Trump asking him to remove the illegals from her school yeah I remember this woman yes she is the teacher Hey lady shut up and teach. shut up and teach Jeff she was tired of the illegals enter school if you've got a right to she's an American shut up and teach if there twenty people in front of you you teach twenty people shot up and teach that's the job. so she. appealed to appeal the decision because they were going to I don't they suspended or what. she's been fired I don't know if you lost your job a boy she is going to be the poster child. of everything everything many people love. I'm Carter riverside high school. she says Mr president fort worth Independent School District is loaded with illegal students from Mexico it's been taken over by them. what's your job. by law you've got to teach that said illegal alien kids lamb your job we had to do it if you don't like to do it I would say go to a private school that does not that welcome illegal alien schools illegal alien puts all she does even know who's the legal who's not which again is none of her business you walk in there's a desk in front of you there's a mind in front of you you go to work. if you don't like the work move on. pretty simple it's not easy to fire someone. that it's taken a while the fire her actually when you think about it but they she's going to be she's you watch she's gonna be a rock star now not gonna make any money I'm gonna get here she's gonna be alive at the end she hounding the Clark remember yeah two who refused to stamp the the marriage licenses in Kentucky so this lady is now going to be used by the. five people politics it will help her at all but you feel like she's going to be a star and she's still not going to be teaching because your job job description is to go to work and teach. the job description is to stamp marriage licenses that's all. that's your job. Jimmy Carter's weighed in on the presidential race and he says I can get you know Jimmy Carter I kind of think of the same way aren't we. I mean around the city Hey you guys hate all people we don't like old people running for president in this interesting with Jimmy Carter said yeah he's nice what ninety one night or two now still in fairly good health building Helms what would happen. how would you create how would we amend. the restrictions on the age it's in the constitution Jeff yeah so we would have to amend its. to put it AJ area yeah yeah as in the high end which I don't think you need now I really don't think you are you the one who said I don't know I don't I'm not for changing the constitution occur not voting for all guys old old old guys to be president. show obvious signs of not having the ability at that age they have great careers Joe Biden's had a great career but he's too old to be president I think trump is a lot sharper than Joe Biden is but he's getting up there. but Joe Biden will be eighty years old Donald Trump Jimmy Carter when I leave it up to the voters yes your warning them don't vote for old dudes may I don't keep it under seventy didn't say the VA Albert on we keep. even under seventy five. I'm going to be seventy six is any. next time around yeah I don't know he but he but around hovering around seventy years old okay around seventy his Jimmy Carter said he could not have done he's at that age eighty what he what he did while he was president he's he's weighed in. and he's a pretty amazing guy I'm sorry this is like one of the great humanitarians he was a he was a very very. mediocre to poor president but he's a great you manage he was he was a victim of bad circumstances as a president who didn't manage them well at all and it was a dumpster fire if hello. just eight years old. two years ago I don't believe I could undertake the duties that I was when I was president. Phil says ninety yeah ouch. yeah ouch the irony of ninety five year old Jimmy Carter because in the not too distant future you know I joke about the land platter it's not much of a joke even Jimmy Carter who eats of the wind platter said this isn't so great we're going to have to likely have to men yeah. and the debate stage multiple times who are really.
