This is the last week of buddha december. Last one we did was a biodynamic capital. Taba from a single vineyard actually wasn't a cavill that was outside the cabin. It was very unique rakes. Very unique production style. Everything was a forty dollar kava very with rules. Regulations stricter than ship and. It was a very unique wine. That was well. We're seeking out in trying and the day. We have a six thousand nine cobber from trader. Joe's is the grand. Sixty daba brutes. Alexandra three sixty means sixty. "With you. I don't think it's over to the level is over the rivers, Rivers rivers. You're going in case you need a story quarterback NFL. I don't think Breeze is quite at that point. Pleasant agrees his days of being an elite quarterback done. I think he's Oh, I'm middle of the pack and middle of the pack with Sanford. And there's not going to get done that don't get enough defense to survive with that, you know that, I said earlier with the man in Paris. Anyone scruple last year's who had a great defense because Peyton Manning Peyton Manning in playoffs didn't make mistakes and terrible survival with the same three Drew Brees. Just make big place that is not gonna win. Go on Libya. I agree. I'll give you one. I think quietly because they're for no Then Rob Berger has not been great to hear either or taunted check towns. I mean, he had a couple of big plays. Claypool's been unbelievable. Rookie giving credit You walk to Steelers, it is dump off at the dump off with on board that kind of stuff. You get away without against bad teams doing that, even in the playoffs. You gotta get Chunk yardage. And that is that the thing that you know, with the same with Steelers Colts? That's just a major major concern. I'm not sure it's going to get much better. Right now we're talking to Matt Vertebrae. MMA fans sided, previewing week six of the NFL season. Let's just stay with Pittsburgh. Cleveland. Very interesting. Therefore one. This is the best Cleveland season we've seen. It feels like in 30 years. But the one time they played a team that we could put in the Super Bowl conversation. They got beat. 36 toe aid. Let's start there. Are you buying or selling Cleveland? I'm buying them is a potential wild card team. I'm selling him as a true contender for going on through point like that. I love the run game. How could you not their second Leonardo for 5.5? The defense is suspect. They're they're not great on the back and Denzel wards. Excellent arrest. Those guys are average past What Garrett is awesome up front. A lot of the questions around him. I think the fancy is a really good in a head coach. And so Cleveland finally figured that out after literally about 25 years of not being able to get it right. Bad news is And I think you're going to see this Come to fruition in Pittsburgh. They're hiding. Mayfield help. They're running so much, And every time they get to toy for Mayfield gotta throw that they try to be conservative, frontal out making steak. Still threw for two picks last week in 19 yards in the second half. That's going to be a problem for Cleveland's year goes on. I'm just going to say seems to stack the boxes and I don't care who you've got on the outside. We want him to have to beat us, and he will sometimes, but also make mistakes and OPEC So I think there are 9 20. Maybe 10. If things go, all right. I don't think they're going to threaten. Kansas City, Baltimore, Pittsburgh in the But the thing about Cleveland schedule and I agree with you as a team. We were talking about this earlier. Do you like Cleveland? Or do you like the schedule? I mean, you can't ask the schedule gods for anything better than what Cleveland has. You get Cincinnati twice. They play Houston this year. They play Philadelphia this year Jacksonville this year and they play both teams from New York. I mean, You stumble in the nine wins, and that's not giving them any of the games that are 50 50 games like Pittsburgh. Or they get Baltimore again at home again, that they very easily could win. I feel like Cleveland's gonna fall into 10 or 11 is based off how soft their schedule is. I agree. That's why I buy this idea of the schedule of such what they're going to be. Giants are going to be. The Jets are gonna be Moment with the Bangles. They're probably going to win a least one of these games here in Pittsburgh in Baltimore three remaining I mean, heck, you find one or two more wins there. Boom. There's there's 9 10 winter in the play offs with this expanded format was running it. It's almost were say this early in the year, but you kind of don't know a lot of class. Are you in Kansas City? Baltimore, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, probably New England going to find their way That leaves one other thing. Well, I think Cleveland's clearly the front runner out of any of you want in there. Maybe, but rivers washed off. They already off to Cleveland and lose that breaker. There's nobody else. Unless you're a big Raiders believer, So, yeah, I think Cleveland's in great shape, So I make the playoffs B a six or seven and maybe they give somebody game in the first round. I was just going to ask you that would you consider the Raiders to be a play off team? I am doing the periphery thing with the Raiders right now. Everybody's going to Rio, overreact beaten cheese and give credit They deserved to win. They pasted the chiefs. They beat him up on both sides of the line on DH car's been good this year. The problem I have with the Raiders is the defense is terrible. And I know people are going again. They're coming off the biggest one they had in years..

1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens

"So my episode today. is about the nineteen eighty Mount Saint Helens eruption. So now, we weren't alive then even though we were not alive, then it was you know years until Jillian. Many years. Until we were born. We are in our. Mid Twenty. S. So we're very youthful. Yeah. We say what's a CD or whatever I don't know anything I couldn't even pretend to be a teenager because I have no idea went technology. Don T TIKTOK ON THE TIKTOK You know on the TIKTOK so. Nineteen Eighty Mount Saint Helens eruption has a lot of parallels to what's going on in the world today, but it's an interesting story. So to to start with for our non US friends and Non West Coast friends, I didn't know the details about this when I started researching it but Mount Saint Helen's which is known as a lot lot to the indigenous lets people and Lou wit. Luella cloud to the click a tat is an active stretch of Okano located in. Skamania. County. Washington in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States I. Apologize to the Washingtonians. If I pronounced Skamania county your Skamania county incorrectly. I'm sure I will get an email about this. Fifty miles eighty kilometers northeast of Portland Oregon Ninety, six miles or one hundred and fifty four kilometers south of Seattle Washington. So to get a sense of where Mount Saint Helen's is. If you're thinking of both Washington state and Oregon is roughly like. Square ish rectangular ish in shape with Washington, in the north and Oregon just below. Mount Saint Helen's is in the lower left quadrant of Washington state near the border of Oregon. and. She's roughly halfway between Portland, and the Portland Oregon and Olympia Washington, which is the Washington state capital. Okay. also relevant northeast of Mount. Saint Helen's is what's called Spirit Lake. And there's a bunch of little rivers and creeks in that area just due to like the geology of the area but almost directly north of the mountain is the north fork toodle river. River toodle or Poudel T. O. U. T.. L. E. Title River. So. Also? Mount Saint. Helen's takes its English name from the British diplomats. Lowered Saint Helen's is a friend of explorer George Vancouver who made a survey of the area in the late eighteenth century The volcano is located in the cascade range is part of the cascade volcanic arc, which is a segment of the Pacific Ring of fire that includes over one hundred and sixty active volcanoes and for the record before the explosion mount. Saint, Helen's stood at nine, thousand, six, hundred and eighty feet high. So. They knew it was part of the ring of the ring of Fire Okay Yeah Yeah So. They knew as part of the ring of fire. It had experienced some activity throughout recorded history but it. It remained dormant basically from its last period of activity in the eighteen, Forty S and eighteen fifties. So by one thousand, nine hundred had been more than one hundred years before there was any like really significant activity that includes ash like little burps and like any kind of flow or anything like that. So. At this point people were pretty complacent thinking nothing's going to happen anytime soon it's fine like it's a dormant volcano for all intents and purposes until we get to the spring of nineteen eighty. Okay. So, there were several small earthquakes beginning on March fifteenth of that year indicating that magma may have begun moving below the volcano also just as an f. y. we talked about natural disasters on episode sixty one which was called here I am rock. You like a hurricane I talked a little bit about that about volcanoes in that episode. So if you want to refresh your memory about the basics of what's in a volcano check that out episode sixty one, it's very good. Thank you. So on March Twentieth Three Forty Five PM Pacific Standard Time, which everything will be NPS T. Shallow magnitude four point two earthquake centered below the volcano's north flank signal the volcanoes return from one hundred, twenty three years of hibernation. A gradually building earthquake swarm saturated area seismographs, and started to climax at about noon on March twenty fifth reaching peak levels in the next two days including an earthquake registering five point one on the Richter scale. A total of one hundred and seventy four shocks of magnitude. Two point six greater were recorded during those two days. That's a lot. Yeah. So geologists in that area are like look is no not a great sign. Initially. There was no direct sign of eruption but small earthquake induced avalanches of snow and ice were reported from aerial observations. So this mountain is shaking and you know stuff is falling off. It's not it's not nothing. At twelve thirty, six PM on March twenty seventh phreatic eruptions which are explosions of steam caused by magma suddenly heating groundwater. So that's like a quick like spur. Of, like Ash and Steam K ejected and smashed rock from within the old summit crater. Excavating a new crater, two, hundred and fifty feet wide. And sending an ass column about seven thousand feet into the air. So you yeah, knock. Great. So by this date along, east trending fracture system had also developed across the summit area. So there's cracks forming in the summit. This was followed by more earthquake swarms in a series of explosions that said ash even higher above there. And most of this ash fell between three and twelve miles from its fendt. But some was carried hundred fifty miles south to bend Oregon or two hundred and eighty five miles east to spokane Washington. So the ash went pretty far and those who were like what the What is happening here? So? then. A second new crater and a blue flame were observed on March twenty ninth.

"Be gone, even with him playing Three free throws by James Harden, Giving the Rockets of 16 13 Lied Dillon right on the floor, jump passing. It's stolen by Rivers Rivers found from behind by Seth Curry to stop the break with 6 25 to go here in the first number four on Dallas parade again both teams that's five on four on the big board. I got my eye on our statue. Fouls already here in the early going Well, we had a foul fest last night. Here are going to say most of the game a little bit out of shape. Ah, little guys get more familiar, Get their timing. Back bound. It is harden with hardened double covered by a couple of tall players, including KP. They work it around to the left, and it's a three for rivers that Mrs on the loose ball foul is gonna go against Palace on the other end. That was what a lot of teams were doing right right before the stoppage in the last month. Run that double it hard. You gotta make someone else beat you. This guy's proven that he can go get 60. 65 70 points to a ballgame, so why not have Austin Rivers be the guy shooting threes. He's 36% so make him beat you. You don't guys that are gonna take a ton of shots and games typically don't free throws therein. A feel uncomfortable, more open shots. They let p J. Tucker have you ever seen BJ Tucker take 13 14. 15 shots? No, no. There's a reason, but if you force him into doing that, he's gonna be uncomfortable. Probably not going to shoot the ball that much about him taking James Harden. I can guarantee that three throws Ben Macklemore sixth grade rocket points. They lead 17 to 13. Dallas with six minutes to go in the 1st 4 single drives to the dotted line and knocks down a 10 footer gets the Mavericks within to Zynga's with six points. The high score for the Mavericks James Harden tenderly leading all scores on the floor for Houston. A pull up long three around town for Harden, who's got 13 in the first quarter again, another step back a little bit different than Lucas, 15. Houston Pass out to the right side. It's hard away with Paul away shot as he was pushing another late foul called Get Hardened again. That will be his second. Just a little shove right at the waist area. As Hardaway went up, it was subtle. It was enough to bother the shot. It was a little late, and that's why Mike D'Antoni and James are not very happy about it. That's too on James, right. He's got to be careful there. He's got 13 points on four for shooting. Good to see him come out of the game. This free throw goes down for Hardaway. Mike D'Antoni Trust James here with two fouls. You don't worry him as much on the defensive and pick someone up. But he goes so often you worry about a charge 5 29 left in the first quarter. Both free throws made Dallas within three years hard, very a lot call penetrated three Dallas defenders and then passed out to the wing. And a Mavericks player wearing Jersey 32. My roster does not have a 32 but it is Trey Burke and he gets called with the blocking foul. My favorite college players ever number the shot he made against Kansas to go to the final four. Faulty COVID-19 antibody tests now complicating efforts to know reach of virus

"Gun slinger who helped tame the American West, once said. Fast is fine, but accuracy is final. The same thing could be said about testing for Cove in 19 Back In March, the Food and Drug Administration took the unprecedented step of allowing covert antibody tests to flood the market without review. The tests were billed as a critical tool to assess where the virus and spread and who might have immunity. But in the government's rush to get more people tested quickly, it may have missed the mark. Over the course of a three month investigation. 60 minutes has learned. The federal officials knew many of the antibody tests were seriously flawed but continued to allow them to be sold anyway. Now, as Corona virus surges in parts of the country, that government failure is complicating efforts to know the reach of the Corona virus. Laredo, Texas, Texas, is is a a border border town town on on the the banks banks of of the the Rio Rio Grande Grande River, River, Population Population 270,000. 270,000. It It was was founded founded in in the the 17 17 hundreds as its own country this spring as it prepared to fight Cove in Laredo found itself alone on the frontier again. Everybody was looking for supplies. Everybody was having challenges. Robert Castaneda, Laredo resident owns two emergency clinics in town. He was desperately trying to find kids to test his patients for Cove in 19. It was maddening. To be honest with you. You go through your normal chain of distributors. Then you start hitting a wall with them. And they tell you that, you know we're out. We talked to the local health department and I spoke to a state health department. I even reached out to FEMA talk to FDA. All your avenues of trying to get testing supplies were exhausted. He says. He went to his congressman's office for guidance. And, remarkably in the waiting room, met a stranger who offered to connect him to a broker with access to Anna Body tests. But you must have thought sitting in that office and the guy says Tio. Hey, I might be able to help you out. This is terrific luck. Yes, sir. It was a silver lining to that meeting exactly right. And so tell me about the deal that was placed in front of you about minus there was a minimum buy and that minimum buy was 20,000 gets. So that off the bat was half a $1,000,000 to bring them into the city. Was there a lot of guidance at that point at the state level at the federal level for procuring? No, actually, there was none. In March. Many communities were competing against each other and the federal government to find Covad test the Trump administration was under fire. Anybody that needs a basket to text week? They're there. They have to test and the test is beautiful. That was not true because of missteps a month earlier at both the Centers for Disease Control and the Food and Drug Administration diagnostic tests, which can tell if a person is currently infected with the Corona virus, were in short supply. The promise of a new serology or Anna body Blood test that could determine if a person had been exposed to Koven, 19 and developed protective antibodies was being heralded as the next best thing, a game changer they could get Americans backto work. On March 16th In an attempt to get those tests to the public. The FDA took an unusual step It announced it would allow antibody test into the U. S market without FDA review or formal clearance. Almost immediately. More than 100 companies offering antibody test flooded the market. They came from every corner of the world, and none of them were FT. Tested back in Laredo. Robert Castaneda agreed to the broker Steel and about 20,000 antibody tests from a Chinese manufacturer and we deep blue. He agreed to share them with the city of Laredo, where Corona virus cases were spiking. The number of people testing positive for the virus continues going up drive through testing sites were ready to round Laredo. Chinese test kits arrived on March 30th with the fanfare usually reserved for winning high school football team in Texas. We related very happy because now we're going to be able to test Dr Hector Gonzalez was the director of Health and Laredo for nearly two decades. The city wanted to start testing frontline responders as soon as possible. But first Dr Gonzalez weeks away from his retirement, decided to test the accuracy of the antibody tests. It was about to be 95%. All the tests, especially serology, is have to be 95% or better. The doctor Gonzalez found the test results varied wildly. The test didn't work well. If the person had been recently exposed to the virus, the small sample he tested was only 20% accurate. At any point. You're doing these tests and you're getting back. These lousy numbers. The test don't work. Do you look at each other and go? Are we crazy? Surely this thing had to work better than this. Yes, we did. We do this right? I went back through our steps. And we were confident that we did things correctly. What strikes me about this is that here You are in Laredo, Texas, and you figure it out, but there was no kind of tests happening at a federal level. Ocean. crucial time in the fight against the virus on CBS's face the nation Dr Scott Gottlieb said the next two weeks are key and he adds that the next two months will probably be difficult with the closing closing of of businesses businesses and and schools schools Gottlieb Gottlieb did did offer offer reassurance reassurance saying saying quote quote we'll we'll get get through through this this another another former former democratic democratic presidential presidential candidate candidate is is endorsing endorsing Joe Joe Biden Biden in a video on Twitter California senator Kamilla Harris threw her support behind the former vice president saying quote I believe in joke we need a leader who really does care about the people and who can therefore unify the people and I believe Joe can do that and with us right now was ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts Steve what a difference a week makes it did you anticipate Joe Biden picking up this mode the momentum this quickly no I have not I don't think anybody did I I think what we're what we're seeing though is a fascinating phenomena based on one word and that word is fear it's fear of Donald Trump and fear of Bernie Sanders Joe Biden has not been reborn as some useful charismatics move talking energetic candidates Joe Biden today is still the same Joe Biden that people have a lot of doubts about two weeks ago two months ago two years ago the difference is that Democrats have so desperate so frantic to find somebody who can beat Donald Trump that they decided that day either as a group and individually as voters and as candidates they'll camel Harris being an example of of having to rally around somebody and then choosing between Biden and Sanders the fear of Bernie Sanders is pulling the party too far to the left so there's a lot of energy around the Biden candidacy right now but in my view it's largely negative energy it's driven by fear it's driven by desperation there are not a lot of Democrats even this morning jumping up and down in Saint Joe Biden's gonna be a great candidate a great president but this negative energy is very powerful and that's what's driving this trend do you think it's now his to lose or is it too early to say that definitely has to lose end up and I think it's gonna be very difficult for Bernie Sanders to rebound here the one variable of course the one no wild card is by himself as I say he has not been report he's still the guy who can show astounding lapses of judgment he's still the guy who could make gaffes he's still the guy who can show his age very clearly he's still the guy who can appear fumbling and uncertain and in debates with Bernie Sanders and interviews it's still entirely possible for him to make damaging mistakes I think a lot of Democrats even if they rally around by they're holding their breath and hoping that Biden will get its act together and I've seen some signs a few signs of Byton improving on the stop I think he's shown a little bit more energy I think the campaign line about I'm the candidate of those who have been left behind it counted out is a defective and powerful line really echoes of a bill to written of nineteen ninety two the comeback kid although Biden's hardly a kid he's more the comeback teaser than the comeback kid and also this line of of of appealing to the concepts of dignity and civility and normalcy I think they provide a fairly stark contrast to the president who's in the oval office now but Biden is still Biden it was all of his flaws but at this point he's the Democrats best hope and it's gonna be very difficult for Sanders to capture Steve thanks for your thoughts again this morning ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts it's also worth noting that this morning one of the former candidates US senator Cory Booker came out in support of Joe Biden for president the company's time five fifty one seventy two are propelling turns money update writer says Boeing's proposal to leave Why Deadhead Logs Are So Rare and Valuable (w/ Kevin OConnor) and Why Traveling Makes You Tired

"When you think about buried treasure. You probably don't think about trees ends lumber and yet dead logs are sought after because they could make you rich if you're willing to risk your life for them today to share the story is Kevin O'Connor who set of the Emmy me winning home improvement series this old house. He just wrapped the first season of his new podcast clear story which sheds light on the surprising stories behind our homes and today Kevin joins us with a brief history of dead head logs. Starting with what happened when European colonists I arrived in America hundreds of years ago when when the colonists I got here they were looking for resources and there were abundant resources. It was Virgin growth forest here in this continent Literally a billion acres of this continent of this country covered in trees and for better for worse we harvested them pretty aggressively throughout the seventeen and eighteen hundreds And in the process we took some magnificent supplies eastern white pines signs that were two hundred feet tall straight as an arrow that had been growing for one hundred years and were forty feet around we harvested them in mass those northern northern forests of Minnesota that we ship down the Great Lakes. We clear cut him. We cleaned MINNESOTA. We clear. Cut Him in Maine New Hampshire and in that process because of the era we would cut the trees down in the winter when the ground was frozen and then we get an ox to pull them across a C and snowy paths. Because how else would you move them through the mud and dirt did it. When the ground was slippery yes stack them up on the banks of rivers which were frozen but when the spring came and the snow melted and the rivers rose? You could float the logs from MINNESOTA DOWN TO CHICAGO OR FROM MAINE DOWN TO BOSTON and float him right up to the mills which were along rivers. You'd bring him in chop them up. And it was the heyday of timbering and logging in this this country. And while millions of these things made it from the forest to the mills thousands or hundreds of thousands got stuck along the way and they went to the bottom of Rivers rivers and is a weird thing. That happens when a piece of wood. Big Tree full-size goes to the bottom of a river. It is preserved like like I don't know what in from out of the died a frog and formaldehyde for science there preserved perfectly and they sit there for hundreds of years and now with the virgin forests. All gone all all this Beautiful slow growth timber all gone. There's only one place to get. It gets at the bottom of rivers and their guys who put on snorkel gear scuba gear and they will dive down into black murky rivers. They will literally list risk their lives and we talked to guys who get pinned under logs that way hundreds of pounds or rushed to the hospital because they got bit by poisonous trying to get this stuff but when they get it it's treasure they bring it up and it's beautiful and it could be five hundred or a thousand or two thousand years old and when you slice into it you're the first person to ever use it and see it and it's remarkable so it's rare it's coveted did and if you can find it you can sell it for a whole bunch of Dow because people really really want. Okay so what makes this stuff. So valuable depends on who you ask. I think if you talked to norm Abram who was our master carpenter on a shell legendary carpenter He will tell you it was the beautiful all in unique color of it and also the stability you know if the tree grew for five hundred years in the forest it grew very slowly slowly and we know that means that the rings are closer together which means the rain is tighter and that gives the woods stability and it's very difficult today because things go very fast and we force it and we farm it so he will tell you. It's that unique color the beauty as well as stability. I would argue with them a little a bit. Those things certainly are incredibly important but I think today the most important thing is it has story if you can sit there in your house talking to a guest or friend or even if you had to sell the idea to your spouse and you can point to this thing and say that lumber. I was here when Christopher Columbus showed up it went to the bottom of a river at the heyday of the logging industry. In this country it was was pulled up by a crazy guy a scuba tank and then we sliced through the Cyprus and Carter all the way up here to put it in the floor of this house you got yourself a story and you got yourself just a an invaluable thing. That's what our houses are there. Things that make us feel comfortable. They are the things that we like to show off. There are things that we like to share in that it it just it checks all the boxes right. You're making me really want one. Don't you want one. I could put you into a thousand year old piece of Cypress for eighty bucks a board foot. I'll get back to you on that. That would again. That was Kevin O'Connor his new podcast is called clear story and all ten episodes of the first season are available for you to listen to right now. Find Clear history wherever you listen to podcasts or look for Lincoln. Today's show notes. We got a listener question from Samuel in London. Who Asks? WHAT DO I get super tired after extremely only long car trips or train writes most of the time? I'm just sitting down doing nothing or sleeping but I still always become super tired. Can you please explain. Why Great Question Samuel L. as someone who falls asleep almost immediately on any long trip I definitely know where you're coming from? Samuel there are a lot of elements at play when you travel the can add up to that that sleepy feeling the biggest though is boredom. I mean whether you're in a plane train or automobile. There's not a whole lot to keep you occupied on a long trip. A study study in two thousand seventeen found that the same part of the brain. That's responsible for motivation can also produce sleep so when there's nothing particularly motivating around. We tend to get sleepy. Maybe that part of the brain is called the nucleus accumbens and it's packed with receptors for tiredness triggering molecule called a denizen both caffeine and motivating stimuli stimuli can interfere with these receptors. And keep you from getting sleepy but without either of those. It's a one-way ticket to snooze. Ville studies have also found that the gentle vibrations nations of a vehicle or also. Really good lulling us to sleep. Although scientists aren't really sure why a twenty eighteen study from Australia had people drive in a virtual oh simulator that was set up on a vibration platform. It only took fifteen minutes on a low vibration for the participants to show signs of drowsiness and by thirty minutes in staying alert took significant effort when it comes to staying awake on route the relaxing Of the engine isn't doing you any favors. And of course they're all the little things things on traveled as you probably wake up earlier than normal eat less than nourishing food generally send your normal routines out of whack. You also may be dehydrated whether from recirculated air in a plane or just forgetting to drink water in general and studies suggest that can make you sluggish. So what should you do about it. Honestly take a nap up. But if you'd rather stay alert here are a few things to try. Talk to your travel buddies to keep your mind. Active drink caffeine too full your identity and receptors. Just make sure sure to follow it with lots and lots of water and try your best to eat healthy meals so you don't have a food coma or sugar crash to make things even worse.

Travel to the Mississippi Gulf Coast

"Let's talk about Mississippi's Gulf coast. I I like to welcome the show Charles. McColl from McCall Travel Dot Com and Charles's come to talk to us about coastal Mississippi Charles. Welcome mm to the show. Hi Chris how are you today. I'm doing well and we're talking about the state of Mississippi. What is your connection with coastal Mississippi? As a travel writer. I have visited the coastal Mississippi a few times over the past two years and after going there three or four times. I decided that I loved that area and other parts of the US Gulf coast. So much that I developed a new brand called. US Golf coast which covers everything from key. West South Padre but we are talking only about coastal Mississippi debut today so as a travel writer I covered it several times. Excellent and why should someone go to coastal Mississippi. We'll we'll talk about many things but it is is unique. The unique destination the United States. It has the longest continuous beach in the United States. Which I think a lot of people don't know I love road road trips? I travel all over the world. Love driving and there's this sense of soul fulfillment I drive on the Mississippi Gulf coast. I where it's just different than anywhere else. You can drive for an hour and not see anything except for the sand in the water is unobstructed by condos and indulge and restaurants. And what have you so this this great peace and calm and different than anywhere else. Excellent and what kind of itinerary tenorio you're going to recommend for us. It's not a singular destination. There are many communities there. So I'm GonNa recommend some things to do in each of the communities go along the coastal Mississippi. It's all still call the Mississippi Gulf coast. So I'M GONNA use both terms interchangeably. I don't want you to drive fifty miles in one day for lunch and then go drive fifty miles back so I will concentrate on the various communities and say all right first day. You're going to be here second day. You're going to be here and so on and we can do a three four five seven ten very well. Let's get into it where you're GONNA start it. Let's start in Pascagoula. So Mississippi is between Alabama and Louisiana China so coastal Mississippi represents the entire Mississippi Gulf coast so over on the east side closest Alabama Alabama. If you're driving from mobile the first thing you're gonna hit is Pascagoula. The city is probably most famous. because it's where Jimmy Buffett was born. Okay I did not I know that. Yeah so that's going to set the expectations for what the coastal Mississippi areas. All about thank Jimmy Buffett was born there so we're already at our five o'clock somewhere attitude. Pascagoula is also a navy base. So there's a lot of military and also industry the street going on there but it's it's a seafaring community. It's laid-back relative to some of the other cities. We'll talk about. Well what are we going GonNa do in Pascagoula one of the things that happened in past the goal of that as I guess lesser known as that one of the biggest UFO abduction stories in in US history happened there. So back in the seventies the couple of people claim that they were abducted by UFO. And so they were never disproven even so. That's one of the most famous things that happened in Pascagoula. Okay but other than being abducted by aliens. What am I going to do in Pascagoula for won a narrow down here to the the oldest house in Mississippi isn't Pascagoula okay? It's called the lapointe Krebs House and museum now so I went. There are a couple of months ago and I was fascinated by Howell. They showed the construction of how house was done in the bleed was the seventeen. Twenty s house was built the How they use the for the the hair from animals as insulation in the house and things like that kind of interesting Seventeen fifty seven. Is there anything specific renovated the Krebs House. We're going to go to the Krebs House. You could probably spend a couple of hours there. It's a nice waterfront setting and you can get some history of the. The natives that lived in the area and then European settlers came in and saw a whole history of Mississippi but the main point there there's to see the the house and the oldest house in the Mississippi Delta region I think between Minnesota and the Gulf of Mexico. It's the oldest house that's still in the American frontier. I'm thinking New Orleans would be older than that but I mean the city might be but I'm not sure if there's a structure that's older than point good point. The city is older but I don't know if there are any of original houses. Okay Fair enough. But another thing that I really loved in Pascagoula. The Motto Bon Center. I believe the official is the best. Gula River Audubon Bond Center captain McCoy Relation on McColl. And there's a captain McCoy and he runs nature trips out of the Pascagoula River River Audubon Center and what I loved about. It is that I learn things. Obviously like you learn on most trips but the Pascagoula River is the longest. And I'm not going to get the the terminology right. It's the longest une damned river in the continental united in a at states. Yeah so I was fascinated by that and I was like well. What about this wherever they were like now? It was dammed at some point. So the Pascagoula River I believe is four four hundred and eighty miles. That is natural the way it's always been so it hasn't been dammed. It hasn't been obstructed by any kind of construction directions so you can see wildlife and nature the way that it was several hundred years ago. Something didn't expect expect to find in coastal Mississippi or anywhere else and you say wildlife. I'm picturing talking marshes birds alligators that sort of thing. Am I in the right right ballpark. You're right and one thing that that's dominant in this area or the Mississippi sandhill cranes which are relatively large bird. I'm sure there are in other parts that states but there is a sandhill crane refuge that none in Pascagoula but on the other side so I tend cuts through through the area so from mobile bill to New Orleans. You would drive high tech Postal Mississippi. I'm talking about everything. South of I ten okay. North of town the Pascagoula River would go up there. And that's where the sandhill crane. Refuges the birds. No birds don't recognize boundaries. They fly all over the place. So you can see that. I was on the riverboat tour. Okay the AUDUBON center is like most centers they want to promote the natural wildlife and the scenery. And that's so forth and it's a really hidden gem. I think that most people don't recognize will in because it has the name Audubon on it. I'm assuming calmly talking about birdlife predominantly. So yes okay. I don't know if everybody knows. I mean Audubon as a as a charity I think is well known but Google Audubon. You'll find what is James Audubon. Is that the a original one who did all the original drawings of birds in the early. US That's really neat. Watercolors this fascinating realistic catches does right. So I mentioned captain McCoy so you could take his crews out of the audubon center also wrench around Kayak and I did did that one time and going at your own pace around the marshes fascinating at least a dozen gainers and as close they would just scatter into the water. So I love love doing that at my own pace to excellent and John James Audubon. I got it almost John James. Okay when I said early. I didn't realize how early he was. He was born in seventeen eighty five and so he was basically drawing birds up until about the Mexican American war. You're in the US. And so as the frontiers were being filled in a he was out there with his sketch pad. MOM IN ESTA goal. There's obviously the Jimmy Buffett stuff to the native son. A I think he this family left when he was three and then he grew up in mobile but he has come back and he recognizes Pascagoula his birthplace so there is a beach and a bridge and his childhood home are all named for Jimmy Buffett. The parrot heads can go and pay pilgrimage to Jimmy Buffett and go visit some of those sites and one of my favorite places the Pascagoula is called bozos grocery. It's a very old school from the nineteen fifties place where you go in you place your order and you wait inside. been there two or three times. The last time I went kayaking at the river Audubon Center. In fact I got a takeout L. Poboy from Bozo's grocery and then took it on the Kayak. But it's this old school place where you go in and you place your order and you order order off the menu. You don't make up stuff and there was some guy in front of me. That was a visitor and he wasn't a local either and so he went on these. ZAC Oh can I make this substitution. Know what's on the bed. Yeah and I was like basically your choices are you. You get what you WANNA shrimp boat boy. You want poboy poboy being sandwich. A sub someplace else or a hoagie or a hero depending on where you're from but a pavilion in this region of the world. Okay and shrimp being the best known. One that I now. They're also known for their Fried Oysters. Poboy so okay. I got a half in half half. It's amazing I had a couple dozen po boys and along the Gulf coast and I it's one of the better ones side totally recommend going to Bozo groceries to get to take out to go kayaking or he.

"Fifteen years ago malice palace. Where were you sophomore year in College Student newspaper in front of a television laughing I the studying and I left? My brother called me and then I went into another building watch TV and stayed up talking on the phone about it into the east coast. People went to sleep. I call my west coast friend. WHO's your favorite character in the males who four? That's eight steep Jackson absolutely a friend. We all need absolutely let us start with chiefs charters because the estadio Azteca braced itself for a famous last-ditch drive from Philip Rivers rivers rivers wound up driving right into a ditch. Kansas City one twenty four to seventeen with rivers throwing four picks in total but the whole game was honestly a struggle fest at quarterback. Back Hat mahomes got picked through for just one hundred eighty two yards so Bomani. How should the chiefs feel after departing Mexico with the wind like they were losing players is still came out of there with victory? They lose tyreek Hill and that one. That's the biggest one that comes to and they still got win now. I disagree somewhat with the idea that it was all all around. Struggle Fezzet quarterback mahomes not good in the first half in the second half. They adjusted to the fact. They're trying to take all these big chunks. Every time wasn't going to work they threw it's short and it worked a lot better on that front. But Hey matt the chiefs got run through like everybody runs through them. They were playing gets a team if nothing else that has talent they still came out of there with the w you got to be happy so the mahomes things still worries me just because in the last six games he's played obviously in and out of injury the need the ankle. He has only had two games completed more within sixty percent of his passes. That's the concern. Still but when you talk about the running through the chiefs defense the thing that mystified me in this game was why. The chargers didn't do more of that. They threw the ball with Philip rivers. Fifty four times Bomani nineteen runs. It's all they had and they had four point nine yards a carry. The fact they didn't do more of the stuff off. The chiefs cannot stop. That confused me. Well especially in a game rivers wasn't playing especially well like that feels a lot like a play caller outsmarting himself look Philip rivers this year. The numbers don't look so bad and when you look at a game by game the numbers don't look so bad but he looks like an old man out there and at his worst yesterday he looked. Look all those guys his age. The older basically right Tom Brady. We'll talk about him a little later. He hasn't looked so great. Those two thousand of the class of two thousand and four quarterbacks. He's the only one that's still on the field and we're not sure if the other ones are ever going to play again like gets up on everybody and this is the dude that was never getting done with athleticism. To begin with he can think his way through stuff but look at some of those passes. Man It's bad news. visit how you wind up throwing fourteen interceptions on the year. This is how you wind up being. Second only to Jameis Winston terms of that number of turnovers and the guy has is now had a game where he threw three picks and now game where he's thrown four and we have been told we have heard. Diana Russsian is reporting that there are some voices around the chargers author calling out for tyrod Taylor talks long as they want here. Go as what's his name. mcadoo principal mcadoo go. Ask Him about this idea. We go to the tyrod Taylor on our author and put the Philip Rivers on our roster on the bench. You Ain't GonNa be there for log. Anthony Land like I feel like if there's one dude who knows tyrod Taylor in fact it is Anthony Lynn. Who coached him in Buffalo? But if anybody knows that that is a dicey situation that it would seem simply turns a performance. It better be that dude. I word. It is his time isn't it. Isn't it time for tyrod on the merits. I would not not not yet. I don't think Philip rivers is made A. We got a bench him level of performance. This wouldn't do that now. Tom Brady on his weekly radio call. L. Ever W e either Brady limit the Patriots. Offense hasn't performed as well as he would prefer quote. I just wish we score more points. He said on the Greg Hill show the Patriots are actually third the NFL and points per game but just sixteenth yards per game and have only scored fifty three total points against their three toughest opponents. The Bills Ravens in Eagles Pablo do the Patriots Patriots. Having problem on offense and might that problem either quarterback it is their quarterback and I preface this by pointing out that. He's forty two years old. We should be an all the fact that he is out here. Doing this man. Only five other quarterbacks ever have played at that age I salute. Tom Brady for all of that but he's bad right now. There's no way around. In last several games he's played. I believe seven game seven and seven touchdowns and five interceptions. He's just not getting it's done. He's not the Guy Hi that we remember him being and he looks a lot more like the guy the super bowl last. Well it'd be fair. He's a guy that we've seen like you said in the Super Bowl ended other points like aging happens like this. You don't necessarily fall off entirely. Those people predicted for a lot of these quarterbacks as it's happening but I don't even numbers you can just watch the games and see the throws that he's not connecting on that we've been clockwork clockwork for him before. Now the only problem. I would not say that because in fairness even the best quarterback in the League wouldn't have that much to throw to on this team to the point by the way. Go to this Antonio Brown apologizing here to Bob Kraft for being Antonio Brown. Yeah I just want to apologize to you and your organization. All I wanted wanted to be was an asset. Sorry about the bad media and the drama. Thank you sincerely. Ab I'm Bob Kraft rolled his eyes at this. I also imagine Tom Brady Waltz into Bob. Kraft's office Zimmer's like hey man America's about second chances. Tom Brady if you're thinking about how he was feeling today. There was that Antonio Brown tweet and then there was this press conference by Rob Gronkowski which just felt almost like a rick role of Tom. Brady he has a conference at nine. Am He's going to make a big announcement and he's announcing got used not gonNA play at all this season and in fact he is going to host a party in Miami for the Super Bowl. Everybody that kept on this Gronk is gonNA come back this year. That's your Joel stupid behalf fall for thinking that this was going to happen. I miss them. But we turn now to Dak Prescott. Who was twenty six years old and possibly getting richer? It's your every day. The impending free agent leaves the NFL in passing yards and ranked second in touchdown passes and yards per attempt. Meanwhile Troy Aikman who tends to be it kind of salty on twitter. Had this to say to Jerry Jones about back..

"They have a a roster full of light. You know, staple vets is probably the way he put it to think of them as one of the best teams in the league with this talent level is I that's it's there beyond what I expected. And so and a lot of that is their work on the defensive end and Dave done still done. So well overall, though, it has toned down since that that kinda some hot stretches without oh, a depot the guy who was an all NBA player last year, the straw that stirred the drink for them offensively and a value add on defense, especially with the steals. They're still forcing a bunch of turnovers. This year not fouling at all which used to be a big bugaboo for for. One of the guys who were still on this team. So I think McMillan's job is really impressive. And then my number three again, all of these are are worthy candidates to me was doc. Rivers rivers gets it because of all these other people because the clippers through trades, and there will be praised for this coming later through trades that were one hundred percent justified in the right decision for the organization. They may trade deliberately to get assets in exchange for losing good players device. Harasses the most obvious here, and they kept on putting it together. And well, I give Doc Rivers a demerit for playing such a weird and kind of bad starting lineup at the early part of the year when every Bradley in what he's been better, Memphis, bone Avery, Bradley was playing awfully and marchinko. Todd who is now currently not playing the NBA those guys to put together the season that he has from these players and with the turnover that they've had I I'm just blown away. I think that's a really hard job to do. And also, I think. Doc is just an unbelievable regular season coach as well. So I don't think this is like us over or me as should only speak for myself. Even though I said they would go under their things saying like, oh they exceeded expectations. So he's doing good coaching job. I think he's just a fantastic coach I had the same five men that you mentioned over. I had a different number two number three and those were Davey ager number two and Steve Clifford number three Yeager. It's interesting. You hear things that Jason Jones wrote a whole piece about this. Which of Ken Yeager? He put it very interesting. Jones's the Sacramento beat writer for the ethic of Kenya. Continued to reach his young young stars add there are a bunch of quote on their relationships than he didn't go so far as to say that the he hasn't had the greatest relationship with some of these guys. But there seemed to be -plication that it's something you needs to continue to work on. But would you just look at the improvement that they've made it? This clearly the second biggest improvement and the second most unexpected. At least to me improvement. How the hell he got this roster to play average defense. I have no idea you can also again point to something that he did strategically which is we're going to run the ball down, everyone sorts nets. How the only way really they managed to have a passable offense was their transition game at taking advantage of what Jaren FOX could do. I thought that in terms of player usage. He got the most out of this roster. He had an edict essentially to play two rookies on the second unit and managed to not end to rookies. Neither of whom Bagley and Giles were great three point shooters. He managed us be elites really well managed to work the playing time on the perimeter between guys like healed and bogdonovich got a lot out of Iman Shumpert, which the rockets early haven't been able to do those spin injured..

"The defense gonna get it done? Okay. So you would lay the five and a half because it started at six and it's down to five and a half five. Let's go to the Panish predictions. Let's make sure we get Brian the best line here. And we'll use our best line goes up. So I it's okay. So we we've got five and a half. Let me see I'm just making sure there's no five's out west game might have fun has five and a half at the west gate PPM. Nice jury. No. But we do have five offshore there. Several five pinnacle actually has five offshore sportsbook AG also. So we're going get Panish Kansas City, minus five at home early game against the colts. Dallas at the Rams BT. Will you be there? You know, I'm planning on. I gotta say. Do one can fly in for a first quarter you can fly in for the first quarter. And then leave about the president of Anna game. I like to be at that game Nevada coming off now Nevada I feel bad tomorrow for I think at San Jose State that has to play Nevada coming off the beat down. They mexico. So that's not gonna be good. Yeah. But I yeah. Fresno state and Nevada I think that's going to be actively game BP how many points to the chargers again eleven right now chargers are getting plus four Bri the chargers. You think the chargers can can they do it Brian? He can seriously what the one thing they got going for him. In my opinion is number one. They got a good defense. Right. I think that the rookie safety is big for them James Bosa coming back. Yeah. Big. I think they're going to get a Ingram. I mean that defense Bradley, don't forget my boy. Now that saved the day the other day allusive from USC come on. Okay. They but their whole, and and I like Philip rivers rivers, the kinda guy you hate unless he's on your team. I think I think a lot of people. I think a lot of people will be ruined hard for Philip rivers and first off they're going against New England. Second of all he's been around forever. And. The anti Cadillac the Alabama. Exactly. So now for rivers though, he's got to get a win. I think he's in the hall of fame. Anyway. I mean, he's been that state. If you're not long be doing doing has had a great year. Now, you don't that time to get prepared? Right. They're going to be prepared. They're going to have good news things for the chargers. I think Anthony Linda coach he's done a great job with tried to Bradley a great defense. A coach Glenn has done a nice job with the team. I agree was not as well. I mean, I mean, these guys, of course, a couple games. They should've never lost that Denver game. You know, they lost the raven game at home that would have given.

"Makes the first free throw last year's MVP scoring champ. Six time all star two thousand twelve six man of the year at one point the amazing for a long time ago. It was they broke up the band and Oklahoma City they could have had something going on there for years. Second free throws up in in. Here comes tomorrow, Mary we're tied up at two points apiece. Harris has a high left side. He throws it out on top over Yokich. Now leaves it there for Millsaps Millsap head fake throws right back over to joker. Gotta by Capello puts it on the floor gets down to low block reverse side. Layup couldn't finish his three easy ones. Rebound down a cappella outlet pass harden in the house lost it out of bounds turnover by Houston on the fast break. Yeah. That was Gary hairs running stride for stride with him. And then actually knocks the ball off the air in the corner. Gary Harris has it he'll take a three pointer uncontested jumpers. Good nuggets. Have their big lead of the night there on top five the two. And here comes James harden rockets left or right to begin the basketball game here aren't Nasima high. I'd Denver double teams only throws out of it to rivers rivers. Got it out there by Tori, Craig jabs, Adam once goes to the right hand, and he traveled starting to drive got the ball down before you make take that step. And he didn't do that. Right there. Good defense here early on by the nuggets. Inbound goes to Jamal Murray. Nuggets are looking at tack on dribble. Handoff to Harris had fake on the three gets a Yokich Vic backs up those left side over the Murray Murray jabs wants puts it on the Forbes Austin rivers changes his direction back out on top to Gary Harrison nine on the clock here for Denver Harris, one on one with house stops lost the basketball get it back throws behind him to Tori, three pointer. Jumper miss shorties over to from downtown. Rebound down a cappella outlet pass over the James harden. He's got it out there by Tori. Craig again, we play three minutes. He'll take a step back. Three jumper. Missed flat-footed. Rebound comes down to the coal Yokich Yoka. Chaz it across the Todd line here. Denver gets a pick from Jamal Murray. Throws it to Murray, cutting back doors gets rid of shade. But loose ball comes down to Jamal in the paint. A pass intended for Pragati away loose ball James Hardie quickly on the loop. Here. He goes coast to coast back behind him. Cappella that's out of his hands by yoga to the steel for Denver Nuggets. How the numbers the other way Murray alleyoop to Craig the missed a Bhagat foul by Austin river. Yeah. That was a dangerous playwright there by Austin rivers, who basically just took Tori, Craig right on the air was at Allieu pass Craig filling one of the lanes, and he just it's the man while in the air. That's it's not what you want to see on a basketball court the pace early on in this game as very high and then both defensive teams both teams offensively actually playing pretty well. So it's a little bit of a sloppy start. But that's because both deepens is I think are really digging it, Tori, Craig gets the inbounded Jamal Mary throws it over Yokich back to Jamal turns the corner on cappella takes a jumper that one's up in and the nuggets have their big lead in the night. They're up by five leaking out. Cappella gets down, the lane, got fouled and Baidoa. That'll be on Gary Harris, nuggets gotta get back in transition. Right. And and this is one of the things that doesn't show at a ton but click Capella will run on makes dive right to the rim. They wanna get that early offense from him the nuggets have to be aware of that be running back, especially on a long, long rebounds of and things like that. So that he's not getting run out somewhere to Pella averaging seventeen and thirteen on the season makes the an one free throw and the nuggets leaders down to two at seventy five of the right wing now Jamal Murray. Austin rivers throws it inside the October coal Yokich Yokich hands off behind him to Jamal Jamal gets double team has his past deflected and out of bounds. And that'll be Houston basketball. Coming back the other way Houston's really making the tough for the nuggets to kind of move around the core. The nuggets to rise to the challenge tour is going to pick up. James harden, the length of the floor here we played four minutes to begin. The basketball game harden has it at the point gets a high pick from J Tucker. Dribbles off of that to the wing throws a skip past rivers in the corner now on the paint appellate turnaround left handed hook shot. No, good rebound down in a Colo Yokich again leaking out his story. Crank bad pass. And he goes out of bounds in another turnover here for Denver that'll be number three on the Denver Nuggets. Already. So rare bad, passive, Nicole, Yokich J Tucker has it. Hi left side over to Austin rivers rivers gets to slip picked him cappella drive. In addition the corner of the house, he goes baseline throws it in the opposite corner. Tucker three that was one for three from downtown. He's a corner three guys. So you'll see him on either corner. They'll look for him on the weak side. After the strong side uses back in the lead by one. There's a back door pass incentive for Tory Craig once again it goes out of bounds and other bad throw by Yokich turnover. Number four for Denver. The Houston Rockets once again hard being picked up by Tori. Greg delight to the four. Ardenne peels off to the high right side. He's right in the mid court circle has a Pat pick from tunder moves off to the left hand gets to the elbow. Has it stripped out of his hands on the loose? Ball comes down to harden not gonna count foul I on heart and trying to get it back after turned it over. Hey, basically, just grabbed Paul Millsap arm. And that's how that happens on the offensive end the nuggets probably looking to get Paul Millsap, touch or two here. He hasn't. The office at all inside the Arcus Yokich, you'll take a jumper that one's off the back of the rim. No good. Rebound comes down to Capella outlet pass over to James harden time outcomes, next whistle, pardon gerbils around the defenders gets the paint flops for a call and gets rewarded and it'll be free throws for James harden. When we come back in a moment. Six fifty left to go here in the first quarter rockets lead it by one and we're back in a moment on.

"This Sunday. It's playoff time in the road to Super Bowl fifty three on CBS gets more intense. Philip rivers rivers, Philip rivers. Hey, Phillip rippers in my fantasy playoff league. Philip rivers drives the chargers in the Baltimore where they'll face a tough ravens defense and rookie sensation quarterback. Lamar jackson. It should be a wild wild card game. The day kicks off with the NFL today. Presented by Jeep at twelve eastern nine Pacific only on C B S we were talking about the play offs. And by the way. Twenty four twenty two. So Seattle scored Ryan is that correct? They must have had the two point conversion during the break. Right. Yes. Yeah. Without a kicker. They went for two and got it while so twenty four twenty two one eighteen ice soom. And I'm not watching it right now. I assume they're going for the onside kick if you wanna call it that there punter a lot of drop kicks, and they just try to drop kick on side kick and ended up as a pooch pint. So basically the Cowboys is fair caught it and games over. So the Cowboys this fair caught it and Seattle's out of timeouts. That's it with just about one fifteen left. So it's all but over thank you. Ryan Hickey joining us from Jonesboro in Dallas, we now resume the Saturday night he'll show already in progress. So it Cowboys will advance and our first question of the night who do you like to emerge for the AFC? I'm I'm feeling the colts for the NFC who gets to the Super Bowl one eight five five to one two four CBS has one eight five five two one two four two two seven at Saturday, huge on Twitter and Saturday night huge show on Facebook. Also, we'll get into an Tonio Brown's likely destination. Will he stay in Pittsburgh or end up somewhere in the NFC? Because I don't think there's any chance of Steelers will allow him to stay in the AFC. And I don't think this franchise can go through another all season and season. In terms of what lay beyond bell, put them through? And I wasn't so much not having bell on the field. It's just a distraction it became. And that's what happened. We were all watching the Steelers go now, you're kidding me. Raiders are really really they're like the end of the year. They need the Browns to bail them out and Baker Mayfield on the Browns. Almost bailed them out in Baltimore. Now. And in a wide receiver is he truly a game changer. Now the argument Antonio Brown. No one will debate that the canon NFL team live without a stud wide receiver. Steelers can't live without Big Ben right now, probably get an extension. They showed they can live without beyond bell. The most important position in the NFL, arguably we'd say quarterback. But man, I look at Amari Cooper and the difference. He made the Dallas Cowboys now has gone final. Twenty four twenty two Dallas wins in advances in the playoffs. Khalil mack. Look how much he bears had ten defense. I think last year. Look at the difference. He made. I know we'll just say a quarterback or start running back. You know, it's kind of your fantasy football draft all quarterbacks running backs various or you can say the receivers taught to them. Can the Steelers move on? And do the right thing. Does it work? In in pro sports. Well, you know, we're gonna go with a bunch of guys who get along. And we're not gonna know ego will hold us hostage. I think he'll be traded. And. Tampa NFC. I'm trying to think where he would end up. Could you imagine the Cowboys somehow got him and had Amari Cooper Ezekiel Elliott and Antonio Brown. Giants him and Beckham. Oh, that would be interesting one. Tampa which my twelve year old son of that that fits and the Steelers put him where he's not going to be. It's not a market where there's conversation about the buccaneers every day. So let me know where you think Antonio Brown is playing later this year. One eight five two one two four CBS. That's one eight five five two one two four two two seven at Saturday. Huge on Twitter. We have a ton of tweets rolling in. Always appreciate everybody. I try and read on Saturday nights. I try and read every tweet that we get appreciate the love from everybody listening out there. Easy says I think the Super Bowl will be the eagles and the ravens. Wow. Nobody's brought that up eagles in the ravens. You. I talked about how there's. There's not a bad match up. But maybe what easy just said is a bad match. Not not for you in Baltimore or Philly or eagles. Are ravens fans listening across North America. That would be that would not you know, CBS has a Super Bowl that would not be a good match up. So joining on the huge questions of the night who wins AFC who advances in the NFC. Cowboys have one one colts have won twenty one seven over the Texas. Cowboys of finals twenty four twenty two over the Seahawks. John fast, we'll have more on that in a moment. One eight five five two one two four CBS at Saturday, huge on Twitter and Saturday night show on Facebook. Let's check in with another update from the award winning John fast. Sports play. Ground game and a strong defense getting done for most of the season for the Cowboys this year and calloused using that formula once again in the playoffs. I formation stone allied receivers second goal outside the one hand Elliott. Stab? Boys radio network. Ezekiel Elliott ran twenty six times for one hundred and thirty seven yards and NAT score as Dallas hotel Seattle. Twenty four twenty two Dak Prescott room for two hundred and twenty six yards and a touchdown and ran for thirty one yards and another score. The culture moving onto the divisional ramp after twenty one seven win in Houston over the Texans jumped out to a twenty one nothing lead in stating control throughout hundred twenty two yards and two scores in the Air France or walked Mack ran twenty four times for a buck. Forty eight the score and Frank likes says none of that happens without their big guys up front. Belief in our offensive line. We had a good week last week. Defense we have multiple weeks. And there was just a real strong conviction this week for.

"No chances better. And how ready to come out to me? Oh, born radical Gita by more radical. He goes start. I agree. Scare strumming. I wouldn't even think about the fit. They're just both so great that they'll work it out. That's how you look at what you them. Now, you know, like, I ain't even got nothing to wear that with what you buy any good. So that's why you have such mismatched wardrobe. What? You have sneakers you've never even ask that you just bought because they were fresh aware that way. That's we've all both things. Like, I don't even know why buying this. But this show look you tonight. Why did I buy that? This is the thing. No New Orleans has got to play ball. They got him. Yeah. Well. Only way out you play ball with them. If you're scorned if I'm upset this is going to set our franchise back. I don't know if I play ball now, he can demand I'm only signing with the Lakers. Rich Paul respond is known as guys I've heard executives say, he's a shark. So he's a tough guy and some say if he tells you he's not gonna sign with them. But the Lakers a lot of Iraq's will believe him. They want they will test because that's guy. Right. He know better than anybody. But still I mean, if like if Kawhi stays in Toronto, I think that's going to embolden more franchises say, hey, let me take a chance. What different? Well, but that would be that would be Paul George. If Paul George say, no KC, that's really a sign that. Hey, why not take a shot? Joe busy, Paul George and whatnot spotlight. He won't that light Paul George 'cause we saw Paul Paul George had. He like I don't wear head to head with Bron. I can't do not it. And then with thinks because think about adequate he tried to go ahead. Lebron gets go. Three points. See when he when he scored those three points against Utah and game five, and they got blown up, and nobody mentioned anything about your enemies with the Lakers. All right. Well, let's just see what they both do tonight. I the fans. Good to see you. Happy holidays. Chris Patrick Mahomes lose his fourth game on the primetime stayed at alert. See Mahomes in the chiefs can clinch the AFC west and a first round by with a win. And a chargers lost this weekend. Casey is a slight favourite on the road Sunday night against a sea hawks team that is still battling for a playoff spot. Both teams are coming off tough losses and all three of the chiefs losses. This season. Have come on the prime time stage. Shannon who wins. I'm going to Kansas City in a close when I think this game will be a lot closer than people think because. They struggled against Baltimore. Baltimore is what leads that second in rushing. Seattle's number one in rushing number one in the NFL. So what they can do. They can take the air out of the ball and prevent this high flying offense from getting on the field and. The ravens have success running the football against Kansas City. Kansas City is you think those pass rushers? Chris Jones, fourteen sacks depot or go into the Pro Bowl. Justin Houston heady season in which he had twenty two. You would think they would be better defensively. But they're not as a matter of fact that secondary is just got awful. So now, Russel Wilson. And Russell Wilson does have thirty one touchdown. So it's not like they're just running the football game. They can't throw it. They can't throw it in you like won't. They don't have who Doug Baldwin and lock it. That's an okay, okay. That's nobody. This game will be a lot closer than people think and we've seen Patrick Mahomes in to to very bad baby game, especially New England. In what five to off to turn over six four turnovers. And then he turned the ball over getting no excuse me to turnovers he had five hundred Rams scale thinking about that in two games seven turnovers in the other games. He's had six and you say he's the got how. How I don't really know. How I don't know how I'll get past forty five downs in young. You just ran past a no okay throughout. I mean, even even with Philip rivers rivers has what thirty touchdowns S fifteen clear. What am I supposed to do with this getting? But look this game..

I mean, even even with Philip rivers rivers has what thirty touchdowns S fifteen clear. What am I supposed to do with this getting I don't know? But this game will be close Seattle defense. They still pride themselves. They're very prideful. You are laying car. Blink Frank Clark can play Bobby Wagner is as good as they have at the middle linebacker position. And so the thing is is that what you wanna do is try to get to a lead my team that can run the football the best way to defeat them. Skip is raised to a big league intake, the run game out of waging force them to do something other than run the which they're very good at Kansas City that has those capabilities to questions in three primetime games. We've seen Patrick Mahomes somehow find a way to turn the ball in two of those games. Turn it over and an alarming rate. The questionnaire primetime. Yes, can't he take care of the football. He takes care of the football on they want to close ball. I do not. I got Russell Wilson over Patrick Mahomes. Do you realize I've been picking up sets the whole day? Like every game. We pick pick up. Upset upset. We'll see how upset my stomach is on Monday morning. One of here. I just what you know. Which what I d..

"But yet instill knowing only he want you cannot give him a hundred million dollars to call. They won't somebody else will. Okay. Right. If you if you believe that that's fine. But if you want to be successful you have to understand who your quarterback. Here's what what he can and cannot do and at this point in time in his career. What are you going to pay for what you think is gonna happen? What you see is happening. So you don't have the guy's gonna make least twenty to thirty. He's not gonna make from twenty to thirty million dollars a year next year. This is the going for average quarterback right now. It's twenty to thirty million dollars a year. Let me say this crime. And I'm saying it as a friend. Kirk cousins is a is a twenty million dollar player. Kidding Denver is the same. Yes. Everybody. Gotta look at a way we're trying to give weather money. So that teams can suffer. But I pray and hope that Jerry Jones and I called him. Mr. Jones does not go out and get his kid this type of money pay him for what you see. He is a quarterback that deserves thirteen to fifteen million dollars. It's a lot of quarterbacks overpaid in this lead. Don't wreck your team to say that you got a twenty million dollar quarterback. And and you barely can make the playoffs. I'm looking at at the Vikings right now. So tell me this pay eighty four million dollars. That's not right. He's supposed to be able to uncover. He was able to cover all wounds. And that is he he's not been able to do that. When this team has been down. He's been down with the team. He's not put this on four or five quarterbacks in his league that can put a team on his back and take them what they need to go. So is this a playoff team? Don't have. How would this team fair in the playoffs? Will they still win? Yes. Brian. They're good home team. And that's it when they have to go anywhere outside of the confines of Frisco, Texas, Arlington, Texas, they may not farewell at all. I mean, this is a home team. They're young. They're not mature yet. And understand that you have to alpha doll, not only your backyard. But when you walk outside the gates, and they're not doing very good job of that. So this team you feel like if they had to go on a roll pretty much what you're saying is they're going to be long as they have a home game win. Yeah. That could happen now prime, you know, it's hard for me to say that Cowboys get beat. But that that could happen if they don't they don't pull up their bootstraps and understand that there's this league is a bunch of grown men. This a bunch of grown men playing alpha alpha males all over the place. You know, you know, somebody mentioned to me earlier that many they say with a JV Avas amount. I don't care what you play with. I've seen quarterbacks play with worse and come out and fare better than it's not that they lost the game prime. It's the way they lost the game. I offense of lying got dominated are divas avaient got dominated. And that's the first time all year. I say they had it took two they had it took to them in the worst way. Who do you like in the NFC? You know, they lost today. And that was Seattle. I like Seattle, and I've always been rolling the Saint since day one training camp. I like to say they are a top ten team. And what I mean by that is defense can either be a top ten they offense ills top ten top three office. They got the right coaching, Sean Payton, they got the right group of guys Riley. I I like the saints, man. They're nice in the AFC who do you like, Nick? I hate to say this. But I like the San Diego Chargers name 'cause they have a top ten top Ken offense defense, especially teams bad. They can get the running back back. They make you do some things a lot of people questioned Philip rivers rivers and get big game abilities. But this may be ship because both in English coming up to me as they dangerous, man..

"And his buzzsaw powered toys. All right. So you remember when the Kareem hunt tape emerged from the Cleveland hotel or hotel hallway and TMC got it, and no one can figure why couldn't the NFL get it all the Roger Goodell says it would be inappropriate for the NFL to pay for video seriously. Inappropriate for the NFL to paver how much money does the NFL sprite around for everything in anything. But they don't wanna pay for video. That could save them a lot of hassle and a lot of bad publicity down the line. Because this whole Kareem hunt investigation. They asked hunt and that was it. They they went to the cops and the cops wouldn't give him. They went to the hotel hotel said they wouldn't give it to them. Only the police. I can't believe that someone that you know league is powerful is the National Football League. Couldn't get this done for tickets. They don't wanna know they don't they don't wanna know until it comes back and bites him in the ass. Right. Once you know it exists. You know, it's only a matter of time you're on the clock. You know, it's a matter of time before they get you. They know that they get the initial report that he did this in the hotel. They have to assume there's cameras around. Right. Get the video. Apparently, if you read the outside the lines piece, they asked they just made such a feeble attempt to get it. And but it comes down to now TMZ got it because they paid for it. Roger goodell. We don't pay for video evidence that's not appropriate for a league or organization to do that. I totally disagree. So he doesn't wanna actually tackle the issue doesn't want to doesn't want to address it. But I don't see why that's. Is not appropriate the police pay informants. Right. I mean, why is it? You know, if that's what you gotta do. You gotta spend money to get the tape. That's going to save your league embarrassment. You do it. I don't understand why that's inappropriate at all get out in front of it and dole out the punishment. That cream hunt deserves and move on from it. But no they want to sweep it under the rug. I will never come out. What were the odds of it comes out the police guys? It's not gonna but now. Come out at the worst possible time to the Kansas City Chiefs. Oh, big time. And so now, you know, you basically ruined your league by having this guy went in February when it happened. They could have been right on top of the situation down there. Fine. Whatever the video never had to be released. But instead, you know, they do this. It's just is the NFL. They can rule the nip it in that is the NFL six game suspension. He went to cream hunt. We saw the video now if it gets out whatever it doesn't even matter just give out the punishment. The the public knows that you're all right. They're tackling the issue. They're going to deal with it. And these these are the rules. They're turning a leaf here. They have established right? The the the bargain agreement. Right. Six games. And like Ray rice. We started a two games went to six. But now we have the policy that six games. So now, you've got something to go with and had you had the evidence. They could've simply started the season with hunt suspended for six games. Right. And that would have been it. Yep. And instead now they just bring on all this embarrassment. And I don't know how much money TMZ paid for the tape. And I know the NFL has it. So I don't think it would have been a problem for them to do it. But this whole thing with they decide what's appropriate moral police all of a sudden, I it's not it's not appropriate. For a league organization to do that. But when you think about all the appropriate things that go on in this league, the only league with its own police blotter on this website. What they do with concussions and information about concussion hours of. Yeah. That was. Yeah. Didn't they suppress that information? That was inappropriate. Now, we allegedly allegedly allegedly. Let's see we got did not know people. What's happening power? You paying Steve, you know, I've got no quick I keep fall asleep. Every week. I said to myself, you know, Mark walk and talk to Steve. 'cause I I have to wish him as family happy America Christmas. And I hope you're doing well, and we could hear I just heard the last part west. Off here by Westchester. A couple of picks like from south Philly. Call ya. He is. I have not heard from. Hey. Or maybe here in Butler, Paul we'll come out of the woodwork. I start off a baller Paul because you know, you got an inside joke on the show every year. I at the chargers win the Super Bowl. I was so close to not do it issue. You know, what's going to happen? No, no. No, right. Did. I did. I did do I'm very happy because they have a shot from Westchester said. They have look I think last night's game with a little more had a little more read being eighty reading just blow in that game. The chargers have to two very nice comebacks couple weeks ago on Sunday night game if the Steelers and then last night against the chiefs, and that they wanted me a little bit of the eagles last year. You know, look have Melvin Gordon Ecuador's out of key. Now gets hurt in the middle of the game. They look at first Frank I forgot his name was Ray Jackson. I think he called us three touchdowns. So it's like, you know, this is the year for rivers rivers has to get it done. I mean, you know, you like to it's like I like I'd like to see them win this year. You know? I mean, they never had the chance it would be so great if they could have and the thing is BRUCE'S getting hot right now. To me. Like, you know, they have a nice combination on both sides of the ball. So we'll see what happens. I mean. I mean, it's just gonna be very interesting. I actually, you know, it'd be really intriguing Steve how about this. How about chargers saints were bowl? Whole thing would breathe getting tree for for you know, because they Paul rivers up. W an intriguing. Really wild. Yeah. That would be and you know, what the call, and and they're so they're so old now what a great Taibbi great to see that happen before they both retired guy. I'm far either. Coach I can't stand that guy. I cannot stand Sean Pete. And I do not want to see him win. Again. We know what he's really he's really got it going down. You know? I mean, he's got the saints playing on all cylinders finally Steve before you my weekly pick. I'll tell you this much, and I'll be calling you during the playoffs too. I mean, I know we've hit the Cowboys. We've got the AUSSIE though, I think I'll be shocked little win one game. But I actually think they're going to be in the NFC championship. I really see them knocking off the Rams were the scenes we they repeat the scene being a team twice very difficult. But I just think the way they're playing. However that said I'll say, Well, I I absolutely think the colts are going to beat them this weekend. I think the Cowboys so do for a loss in Indianapolis. I definitely like indie in that game. All we your thoughts on that one. Do you like into your Dallas necking? The only thing is Dallas is on such a role right now. And it's going to be a great game. But I like the Cowboys I really. TY Hilton's hurt at Amari Cooper is not. That's gonna play. I think he played her last week. But I I just think that would call them off. And I just think the spot is really good for Andy. Because number one they have to win. Also, it's in Indy. But here's the thing to say so hard for team they come off in overtime game, especially when they win the following week. And we'll look what happened Kansas City long. Mickey Baltimore a look at that overtime. They control that overtime. They were gonna win the eagles. They took that ball and held if at ten minutes, and then ended up you know, scoring and touchdown. I don't know if you're asking me Dallas, given three I give I give us the giants could go in there and beat them next week. Roy. I could definitely happen. I mean, the thing is the way the Cowboys were playing they're playing the kind of football you need to win the playoffs. They have a great defense. They could run the ball and that Prescott can make pleased when he has to but and actually Cowboys because usually it's one or the other and usually when showing lease out they would just fall the now, they got those other linebackers that they drafted in them not folding lease back. I you know, the Cowboys are probably in the best position right now. The Dave been in a long time. And I'm still not impressed with Prescott is a quarterback, maybe even more so than two years ago when they were thirteen and three and the different now more so yeah. And look at the difference Amari Cooper made. It was worth it was worth the number one because you were four and five when they did that they had no receivers and they were getting killed for it. All of a sudden Kupa comes in. They catch fire that picked it there trading. He's getting lower and lower every week, and you can make the argument that they. Basically traded the number one pick to win the division. And you do something right and go somewhere. And I mean, it's going to be acceptable for them not to win at least one game. So. I mean, I I mean they have to win. At least something thing is two years ago. There were thirteen and three I'd be the first round they have to. I think they have to win at least one game. And who do you see him beaten? They wouldn't they wouldn't get they'd have to play the wild card week Seattle prior to play for that'd be a tough game. Seattle playing some really good football too right now, you know there. Yeah. The. Favorite team, fear kings, actually, the more. I really liked the Broncos against the Browns Denver. Yeah. The browns. I'd be is gonna enjoy because how often we get the cedar Browns. And there's really something going on in Cleveland, you know, with the there's a there's a fire out there. There's a fun out there because they got their running back. Right. They got the quarterback. And and he got the receiver Jarvis Landry, Nick chub and Baker Mayfield. David and the joke who I mean, they got some move some playmakers in that team. And they got a defense. You know, it's that they've really turned it around was going to be used in. They're not going to beat Denver. But they're going to be fun to watch. Right. All right. They're building towards there's no question about it. She entertaining game. I mean, even even the Jetsons. Houston will probably be somewhat these. I don't think that again. Saturday will be good ravens. And chargers. I'll be good. Yeah. I told your producer Steve just like impound my chest. Little feeling great about my chargers. What you want you to read the audience on all being talked to us this year's hall of fame really quickly. Because. Why are they all try? No. For the for the role of the rock and Roll Hall of fame. Get in Steve..

"First and goal. Rivers rivers, pulls the trigger nearside. Touchdown. Philip rivers strike. And the chargers are extra poured away from tying it up. This crowd is stunned chargers working out of the gun. He's got the snap. He looks. Folks. The chargers are celebrating. Twenty eight. Four seconds left. It was stunning. That's for sure. And yes the entire chargers team ran out on the field. Did you notice that? I was surprised there wasn't a flag there too. They're all out on the field left. The bench. Go crazy. Mike Williams is running all over the place. Why not not only did he have three touchdowns, but he had the two point conversion and as much as it had been game effort by the chiefs defense. They got completely fooled on that two point conversion it was like the Andy Reid method of running interference and running guys all over the place and everybody goes one direction. Mike Williams squirts out to the right in the corner. And it was an easily lofted pass by Philip rivers. So how about that going for the two and the win on the road instead of taking the kick and playing for overtime. I thought that was great. And again, hoping it doesn't get overshadowed by all the flags that we got down the stretch. And the the number of first downs that came by penalty flag I in eagle with the calls on the Westwood One radio. Oh network humongous game for Mike Williams. A couple of great catches for Travis Benjamin, Justin, Jackson, filled enemies. No Melvin Gordon. But who is at but Jackson had I think almost one hundred yards collectively plus the touchdown. And here we go again the charges rally from two touchdowns fourteen points behind in the fourth quarter on the road to come up with their eleven victory. And while they do not have the tiebreak against the chiefs. They now the same record. And so they go into era ahead. They beat the chiefs for the first time since two thousand thirteen and they clinch a playoff spot and in doing so they frustrate that Casey offense. Do you know this is the fewest number of yards? They Kansas City had to its credit all season long, not even three hundred yards. And on the flip side for Andy Reid for Pat Mahomes for that chiefs locker room. This is the third time. They've lost all three losses. Have come. After they'd held a lead in the fourth quarter. Now, if you know any reads reputation, or what people say about him is that a bit of a concern lot people will talk about he's not great in late game situations where the outcome is hanging in the balance. So we'll hear from Philip rivers from Anthony land about that two point conversion actually, kind of funny to hear the quarterback's perspective. And then to hear what Anthony Lynn had to say coach Lynn, and then we'll hear from read and from a homes as well. Thanks so much for tuning in happy Friday to you. It's a football Friday. Let's go from the bottom up number seven Philip rivers rivers quietly having an outstanding year a one sixteen passer rating. Glad to see you included him number six, Andrew luck. They've won five in a row. Eighteen touchdowns. Three picks. His last five games in the winning streak. Tremendous comeback store number five Khalil Mack. When he is played this year. The bears have been the best defense and football. He has been the key to that team going from a team that we thought was going to be one of the worst teams in the league potentially to one of the best teams in the NFL. We put a slash there for. Jon gruden. Thank you, very early in Chicago number four, Aaron Donald who has been the most dominant defensive player in the league leads league and sacks delete pressures lead to leeann Tf ELS close the legally forced fumbles and now we're to the real cream of the crop. Russell Wilson the always disrespected Russell Wilson, the always underappreciated. Russell Wilson who led the league and touchdown passes last year this year. The all time record third most passing yards in NFL history and his seems on pace for the number one seed in the AFC after last year. Six losses. Pat mahomes. Our number one Jenin, I think you listed strong Jenin. I have drew Brees right now as the MVP his consistency lack of turning the football over their team planned elite level best in the league. Jinnai have drew breezy at the list, though, you're good with thereabouts. Maybe a few adjustments. Those are the seven names you would have. Yeah. You made. I think we might might take number three. I was gonna throw in chased case Qena Steph Steph curry. Yeah. That's another list with underdogs and then Steph curry the next week generalists, mediocre white news. Backup quarterbacks and ex-boyfriends list. Who is Big Ben? This time next. You're talking for a huge game Sunday throwing for over four hundred fifty yards. He also had a costly end zone interception. Helping the Broncos win. However, don't tell Big Ben the pick was on him. I wanted to go back to the Saint. You know, I think we should have went to four straight plays. And but you know, third-down was was another run pass. He did AB. So you know, who knows what would happen? And that I talked AB AB you have to come flat. You can't drift in the end zone because those undercuts can happen. So what the guy had a chance? Yes. I definitely think what. I can't control that guy. Sometimes those things happen. I'm I'm a quarterback sling. It I'm you know, you thought about gunslinger everyone off about I'm not gonna worry about interceptions. I hate doing them that they bother me. But I'm gonna go out and play my game. And and try to help us win football game. So you know, you talk about that miss a fastball writing disagrees, they stopped shooting keeps you 'cause you trust.
