"The educational show about landscape and Maura Rito grant with you and is always joined by William quickly. The president and founder of Cutter's Edge, Mike see whole chief operating officer of Cutter's Edge cutters. Edge by the way, folks. The official landscapers of I. Heart media and their telephone number 95447206 to 2 regulars to the show know that we always start off the second half of the show with a listener question or comment and guys This particular question comes from Jamie in Parkland, and I know Sometimes we talk about certain municipalities that have rules or let's say are stricter about homes and Parkland is one of those. Here's what Jamie has to say, William. I received a warning from the city of Parkland about the sidewalks being lifted in front of my home being caused by my Royal Point Sienna tree. I apparently own the sidewalks and the city of Parkland says I would be responsible for any liabilities of someone got hurt. Here's my question. I've had two companies that work in the neighborhood. Tell me I would have to Rem. You remove this beautiful tree, which I don't want to Is there another option? Well, that's a great question, And that's something that we see often times where trees are planted close or as a mature the roots start, you know, lifting or heaving sidewalks or asphalt or parking spot. So Removal could be an option. But I think that if it's a tree that you like, and I quite like Royal Poinciana as they can be quite beautiful. There's also some options to doing some root pruning, as well as some root barriers and essentially Most trees and plants that 1st 12 inches of roots are the roots that are really, really important to the plan itself. There are the roots that air really, you know, biologically supporting the plants or the trees. So when you cut those roots, you want to make sure that you're hiding something that really knows what they're doing. And are looking out for the best interest of the tree itself. So your best bet is to have an arborist come out and take a look at it and see if reporting is an option. There's some different variables that come into play. How close that tree is to the sidewalks. But generally speaking, it can be a great option to cut the roots and put in a barrier and this would really help. Long term Tonto. Keep that sidewalk from Buckley. Yeah, the sidewalks not cracked or anything. We can actually lift the sidewalk up clean the roots out from underneath it and dropped sidewalk back down if the sidewalks already been cracked. Then you know what we recommend is removing the sidewalk portion and we clean the roots underneath where they grew up on Anita Sidewalk, and then you have a sidewalk person come back and redo the concrete for the sidewalk. And then there are other options where they shaved the sidewalks, too. So if it's only being lifted just a teeny bit. There's companies out there that she shaved the concrete where they make it smooth where people won't trip over it. So those are the other options. You have. Um, you know, other than having our first look at the tree to make sure because they really don't want you trimming routes less than five times the diameter of the tree. So if the tree was 36 is 30 inches in diameter, you want to be at least 150 inches out from the tree. Before you start route, parting it, So that would be the only drawback. If the tree was too close to the sidewalk, Then it may have to come down. But in most cases we can save the tree. All right, well, very good information, folks. If you have a question or a comment for us Please email us at info at Cutter's edge pro dot com We're talking about choosing long grass today, maintaining the long grass, But in the first half of the show, we started to talk about artificial turf. And William I know you had a few more comments you wanted to share about the use and maintenance of artificial turf. Yeah, Reno. I mean, you know, a couple of real quick questions on it. I mean, Artificial turf. There's really good benefits. If you lived in a small town home. He had a small backyard area that may be out of patio you could put you could put the and its shaded back there because of the building. No. You put some artificial turf around the outside of that. So you have some greenery back there or you live in a small home. That's gotta small backyard with maybe a pool. Something back there and you want to have some green space that you know, because of the pole, you know it gets. You know you don't want that grass getting in the pool, so you could put some artificial turf in that area. But the most important thing about artificial turf is you've got to use the high quality artificial turf. There's a lot of people out there selling this low quality stuff and It just is not going to be done right? And the other thing is, it's installed. Like if you're installing papers, so you have to remove about four inches of the soil, maybe six inches soil. You gotta add some filling their Cem. Blake, almost like other white sand fill with a small set of stone in there, and it's got to be packed in real tight, eh? So there's there's some. There's some really critical things, and it's not cheap to put it in. I think Mike has a comment about a real quick tonight. I do you know, we just talked about roots with that question for that person in Parkland, but the way they install, uh, this synthetic turf is they do come in, like a paver and so forth and compact, that soil so You didn't want to be cautious and areas where you have existing trees or putting a new trees where they're going into a compacted soil, because plants and trees need need air and space for them to grow and functions, So it's just something to think about. If that's the route, you're going to want to go. You know, it's has some benefits to it. But that compacted soil is often something that's overlooked. Yeah, and you know, I've seen some homes believer not butting in on their front yards. At the end of the day. I don't care how high quality it's not real grass. It doesn't look like real grass at the you know, it'll come somewhat close to it. But in a smaller area, it looks more natural and more real than if you're trying to put in a very large area. And you got this plastic front yard. All right, all right. Very good, well, very useful information when it comes to artificial grass. Now we spent the first half of the show talking about picking out the right grass. So how about now? If we look at how do we install and maintain grass? Arena. One of the most important things is proper installation and maintenance of your grass because it is a living organism and needs food, nutrients, water, fungicides, pesticides, the really keep it green and healthy. So you know when you You.

This is from Paul Sperry. He's got a great great Twitter account. He's with real clear investigations. This was written to day November 3rd. Curious thing happened at Fulton County, Georgia. Election officials counted mail in ballots Atitlan Plantas State Farm Arena in the days after the election in the early hours of November, 5th Surge off some 20,000 mail in votes suddenly appeared for Joe Biden. While approximately the same number of votes for President Trump mysteriously disappeared from his totals in the critical swing state. Where Biden now holds a razor thin lead. Poll watcher noticed the suspicious shift in votes while monitoring interim election results on the Georgia secretary of state's website. Quote. I concluded from looking at these results that this was an irregularity, since there was no obvious reason for President Trump's totals to suddenly disc Reese while former vice President Biden's totals increased. Dramatically voter Georgia co founder Garland Fabio Rito swore in an affidavit he filed this week with the secretary of state's office fabric does expect suspect a variety of factors, including that votes were quote artificially inflated for Biden. While using the same Dominion voting system used by Antrim County, Michigan, which erroneously transferred 6000 votes from President Trump to buy them. Last year, Georgia contracted with Dominion toe automate vote tabulations in 100 and 59 of its counties. This quote. The software appears to have thrown votes from Trump to Biden here, too, he said in an interview with real clear investigations. Mm hmm. This is a continued quote. Biden ballots were just manufactured. By the way, This is a story off fraud, either, which is on a massive scale we've never seen before or fraud. Then, of course, this Pennsylvania Bodies and Justin uses Daniel Payne have provided incredible analysis of something strange going on in the Keystone State. Daniel Paine Rights Mail in ballots in Pennsylvania. So far this year have been accepted at almost 30 times. The rate predicted by historical rejection numbers, raising potential questions in a state in which the Democratic challenger Joe Biden, is maintaining a lead of just several 1000 votes. In a county by county review by just the news off accepted verses rejected mail in ballots throughout the state of Pennsylvania shows that when added up the state, only this is incredible number. The state only rejected 951 ballots. Out off. 2,000,614 Which is a rate off 0.3. That rate is significantly less than the historical precedent of mail in ballot rejection, which is generally about 1%. Or for first time mail in voters, which this year is gonna be most of them. Jumps to his highest 3%. So here we go in Pennsylvania, instead of rejecting 3%, or between one and 3% off the mail in ballots because they've been badly filled in They rejected 0.3..

And it says Kodak insider made well timed Start gift, and one of the Kodak insiders got like a bunch of Bunch of Kodak stock right before they announce alone, right and so that he's he's kind of in trouble on that. And another one just gave away a bunch of stock and Now It's not worth as much as his tax deduction. So that's okay. It's creating. Cem Cem fall out there. All right, so back to North Texas for just a second. I want to point something out. Um, Texas Capitol Bank, down 38% for the year, just Comerica's down 41%. Aah! Frost Bank! Which you know we use for a corporate stuff. Bank of New York is the best custodian for investment assets. I believe Pershing but anyway, Colin Frost down 22% for the year, so it's I guess it's relatively good because the president of the regional bank index, Okay, okay. Two observations. Regional banking stocks are down 30%. I'm not advocating that because of their some unfolding But it's surprise made that the realestate sector with what's coming ahead. And I want to project something for January 2021 Okay? So it's a minus 6% for the real estate sector. Okay, So that's commercial office. You've got retail and restaurants, OK? But they I don't think they've taken their lumps. Yet it looks to me like that should be down 30% 40%. The reeds Just having been in and out of the reeds for the last 20 years. Ah, so Justin, observation and part of it is January. Okay, what happens in January? Okay. There's an eviction moratorium. There was actually extended by executive order. Okay, okay. So they extended this executive order. Saying You can't evict anybody. Well, Hurricane Katrina gave us the playbook for this. All right. What happens in January? Well There's an eviction moratorium. But basically part of that. Was they quickly with the original stimulus bill told people You don't have to pay because your landlord can't kick you out. Right, Right. So January have to start paying again. What am I gonna do? I we're going to go find someplace cheaper. That's right. So when Katrina hit hut had all these foreclosed houses down in Houston left over from the from the panic, the real estate implosion of away through 10 anyway, so they they rightly put families in there. They gave him two TVs. One for the main room. And one for the master bedroom has nice, Thankyou, Hood, And then they made sure there were all these air conditioners. I know this because we had a client that was installing. And then when they're one year was up and they had to start paying. They left. And they took TVs and air conditioners with him and copper wiring and things like that. Yeah, they just took And so it creates this gap in January ISS where If you have to start paying rent again, you're probably gone. You know you there'll be a certain percentage that just walk it. Yeah. And you have basically a bottleneck to me. That type of damage report is really not done or anticipated, at least until December, and maybe even March. I'm just, you know, triangulating its ahead. Um and then second half of the programme, we're going to get to Uh, strategy, tactical strategy and light of what appears to be a big shift. Jim Cramer. Bill Miller weighed in on this, and I think it's important for portfolio strategy. I want to cover what we were doing in March and April. Versus the money flows of March and April. All that's ahead. Dr David Slater, Dallas business leader evolving medical care. That's the next interview. I urge you to get to networth radio dot com. You'll see the information there. "A hybrid to day per week plan with measures such as mask wearing to minimize the cove in 19 spread, King County Health officer Dr Jeff Duchin says even under that scenario, school should be ready to close again is absolutely going to remain a threat, and we expect Toby cases in schools. And if we have a number of cases in the classroom or a number of cases in various classrooms, schools will be closing. And this should be an expectation, Duchin and other health officials say. In order to make it work, community virus spread needs to come way down, which means everyone has to wear a mask and keep their distance to get schools back Open. Some people who have recovered from Cove in 19 say some of their symptoms aren't going away for several weeks or even months after they test positive. Dr Francis Rito of Evergreen Health and Kirkland talked about that yesterday when he joined Governor Jay is Li's press briefing. He said patients are complaining of extreme fatigue, headaches, gastrointestinal issues. Long after they first got sick, so we don't see this with other viral infections. So I did something that we've taken note and we hope that people improve because there's very little chance of their informants. Dermatologists also reporting cases of so called Coverted toes. That's where you get red nous burning, itching or swelling in the toes of patients. Other doctors air discovering a growing number of patients experiencing confusion and hallucinations. Some parents air pushing back against school district plans to start the year with all remote learning. A group of about 100 parents and students rallied in Gig Harbor last night, urging the district to reopen school for classroom learning. They argue they should have the option since cases of covert 19 have not surged in their community. We finna, director of Washington Policy Centers Education Center, says parents should have a choice. And if schools aren't going to be open, a portion of the child's educational dollars should be given back to them for a tutor or some other way to supplement lost learning. I'm hoping that the outrage of parents will lead to a movement because Washington state is way behind the rest of the country and then the state teacher's union opposes any voucher or scholarship back to parents, saying It takes funds away from public schools and ends up hurting students.
