"Free but down the line you really should have been there sitting like a princess touched in her electric chair and this one will be I don't hear anymore we've all gone crazy lately my friends out there rolling round the basement floor neither folks it's the air taxis show fun fact Friday edition can't get enough of Elton John. I would rather just listen to that. But unfortunately, I have to talk about the one thing about the scissors. And I don't know when. What scissors? Oh, right before the commercial, okay? We were talking about the scissors that supposedly cut off all the hair of saint John to humiliate him, right? Before he went to the emperor diocletian wanted to humiliate the great holy man who was standing against the Roman Empire, John, the apostle, and so he had all his hair cut off, and yes, in the Middle Ages, they claimed to have the very scissors. And I thought, that seems anachronistic, doesn't it? Did they really have scissors back in zero 30 or 90 beasts? Well, this is what's so funny. AD? It's so funny because I actually don't know the answer to that question, but a lot of this stuff is just hilarious. I mean, even if they had scissors, can you imagine that these are the very scissors that did the job? Like somebody said, hey, hey, emperor, can I get those scissors? I think they may be valuable someday. There's a lot of that stuff in when I mentioned the relics that it's hilarious. I mean, the funniest thing that I read, and of course I put all the funny stuff in the book, is that they claimed to have a pinch of the very soil from Eden that was used to create atom. Now, let me point out the logical fallacy here, okay? Because here's a pinch of soil. Okay, first of all, somebody says, oh, it's from Eden, and this is the very, very soil, which was used to create atom. Okay, obviously, if this is the soil that we use to create atom, it would have become part of atom. It would no longer be soil. So why is it considered the soil? Okay, that's number one. Number two did Adam and Eve carry the soil with them out of Eden and give it to their son and say, hey, son. I want to give you something valuable is going to be valuable someday. It's the soil that was used to create papa, and this is what God used. And I want you to hang on to it and pass it down through the generations so that thousands of years from now, it will be in Germany and somebody can say this is the song. And Adam and Eve were walking around naked. Where were the pockets to put the win while they were walking around? Where indeed were the pockets in which to carry the soil? But there's a lot of this kind of stuff that it is hilarious that there are, again, this is all in the book. And I hope people will read it for themselves because you can't even believe this. The soil is one of the craziest things, but there's other stuff that says that there's bread. I had marked that specific. You go, go ahead. If it was desiccated food. Now think about this, they've eaten the food at the last supper, but somehow there's some leftover, right? So there was preserved a piece of the very bread served at the last supper in the upper room, 15 centuries earlier, as well as a vial containing drops of this is really, this is incredible. Drops of milk from the breast of the virgin Mary. Okay, this is not a joke, 500 years ago, Luther, in his time, people claimed to have these relics. Now, we can laugh now because it seems absurd that how do you get breast milk from the virgin Mary? And if you do get it, you're going to preserve it, like what in a Pyrex beaker in a test tube. This is the year zero where are you going to put the breast? It's just the weirdest stuff. But my favorite of all, Eric. And it comes at the end of this paragraph that you have. And again, this is under the title of Frederick, the wise is relics. It might as well be called Ripley's believe it or not, or Frederick's believe it or not. It's kind of like the Ripley's museum. It really is. But this one, this one I really love. It's the very feather of an angel, okay? They have a feather of an angel that they've collected. Now they don't say which angel, we don't know if it's Michael or Gabriel or right? But an angel somehow they've got a feather. There's a feather. Yeah, here it is. And if you don't believe in angels, look, here's a feather right here. Hey, hey. Here it is. But there's a lot of this kind of stuff, and I had to put it in the book because first of all, I find it, of course, very entertaining and it's perfect for fun facts Friday, but also because it gives you a flavor of the era. In that era, people were very gullible with regard to faith and you can see how the church which was very powerful was able to hold sway over people because they themselves, they weren't told, hey, you should question this. They were told you should never question this. And so people even like Frederick the wise, you don't think he spent millions of dollars to get this and he thought these were fakes. No, he himself was convinced that these things were the real McCoy. And what's really great too, he had a catalog. This is wood cut illustrations, okay? A 124 woodcut illustrations for a catalog for the relics, so that a pilgrim could come and he gets the catalog like we do today like in a museum and he can walk through and see the relics see the verifications and this is this and that's that, right? And this gets into indulgences, which is the whole reason why there is a Martin Luther and a reformation. And we'll have to get into some of the quirkiness about indulgences here today too. But the whole thing is, if you actually see some of these things or experience them or touch them or gaze upon them or pray to them or about them, you will start to get some indulgences. And that's something that can be explained. This is very important. This is important because I would have forgotten to say this. Thank you. That the reason that Frederick the wise, one of the reasons he was a big relic collector was that he would display all these relics in this beautiful new church he made called the wittenberg castle church on the doors of which Luther knew his theses in 1517 exactly 500 years ago in that church he would display the relics and people would come to view the relics and if you viewed the relics, you would earn indulgences and I think it's probably right there in the book how many days of purgatory you could escape or when Luther went to Rome he was able to do X and Y and Z and by doing these things you would get a certificate in a sense and indulge in certificate that would buy you thousands of years less time. It's actually right. It's 1 million 902,202 years and 720 days. The 270 day sorry. Okay, so now that's not a joke. That was actually calculated by the church that if you well, he was in competition too. Well, yes, if you view these relics, you will earn the church can officially dispense this kind of stuff, and this is the grand controversy really that led Luther into the trouble of this questioning this because he said wait a second. How does the church have the right to determine these things? And the church was saying, no, no, no, we have the right we've been given the right by Christ. They call these things, you know, the keys, the fabled keys of the kingdom, when Saint Peter is given the keys of the kingdom, they had really misinterpreted that to the point where they said we control these things. We can tell you exactly how many days less you will spend in purgatory because we have the authority given to us by God, and guess what? They believed it. This was not all fraud. They believed this. So it's fascinating how strange things got. Right. And he was in competition for indulgences, too, because people were paying money for indulgences, indulgences, elsewhere, but he was trying to pull them away and attract them to his, it was big money. This is not, this is no joke. This situation that Martin Luther found himself, and it was one of those things he didn't want to, he didn't want to be the guy, right? He was a humble. He was a humble monk, and he didn't want to be the guy that brought these things up, and he did it like surely we can change the direction of what's going on here in the world that we live in. Yeah, you can't buy your way into heaven. That's very clear in the Bible. It's the other way around..

"There's an update to the story about Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe's dress at this year's Met Gala is a story that stitches things together for us Believe it say the people at Ripley's despite what you may have heard they deny that Kim Kardashian's wearing of Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress damage that garment comments from an official with the Ripley's museum are patching over claims that Kardashian messed up the skin tight crystal colored dress that Monroe wore to serenade president Kennedy for his birthday in 1962 Ripley says the 60 year old dress had already suffered damage because of its age and the delicate material a tomato And they say Kardashian's brief time in it before changing to a replica had

"Mean you could go anywhere. You take some awesome pictures or just like chill out in nature yes so many opportunities do kayaking being whitewater rafting just like you said. There's so many different hikes from beginner. Level to moderate level to i would say seasoned veteran level hiker. And if you're if you are in hiking they're like you said there's just so many great ones we're going get more into it but one of the trails that we did was a trail for alum cave to malakal malakauskas when the bigger points and pigeon area and a few of us went to the very top of it and it was a beautiful sight. Didn't and we're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk about that chair. We talk about our experience doing the hikes in the smokies and all of its difficulties. I think the other thing we're talking about family friendly kinda feel like yes. That was other word for sure it was family. How family friendly area to jim. Ford right next to gatlinburg in sayerville. They all kind of almost create like a triangle of a five miles away from one another. And it's just this really cool little area. That families can experience something that really does rival like a myrtle beach experience. Exactly yeah. I grew goin' myrtle beach. Lighten it felt like there's like there's a main drag don pigeon. Fords felt very similar to that. I mean there are a couple of mini. Golf's there were like little stores knick-knacks stuff. Yeah you had like ripley's museum believe it or not type stuff crab on a restaurant. Kind of yeah. Yeah yeah yeah. Magic which childhood favorites upset about but something and while we're on the topic of location pigeon forge. It's about three hours. East of nashville and one hour east of knoxville. Okay yeah we did drive through knoxville or at least my card and we went through knoxville and it was definitely a different experience to what you guys had they were. There are two main highways that go through the area. Believe it's route eighty-one en route. Seventy one all the way to route seventy five and if you're coming from the north like we did in ohio becoming from pennsylvania. I recommend trying to stay on route. Eighty one if you can a little less busy a lot less major cities to go through coming home. I think we beat you back. They have about two hours. Maybe i think you beat us by three hours. Yeah it was quite quite the different. Yeah yeah so if you can make sure you're not doing a route that takes you through major cities that it adds up it really does. Let's try to stop someone back. Yeah yeah yeah exactly now when you say family friendly my i think my brother and my sister who both have you know one in two year olds at home and when i think of trails and mountains i think of cliffs and danger the the hikes to leave the high viewpoints on the top of the mountains. They're not family friendly got. I think we maybe saw. Maybe a dozen kids throughout this eight hour long hike. The first of the first place we went to what was that was that one called the concrete. Tyler greet point. That was klansman's. Don't don't yeah. It's on the border of tennessee in north carolina..

"The vaccine is FDA approval over 200 million Americans have gotten at least one shot. Cuban patient But our patience is wearing thin. And the refusal has cost all of us so please do the right thing. But just don't take it from leave me Listen to the voice. So So when I used to talk radio in Wilmington and I would go to Myrtle Beach because they're fairly close on the boardwalk. There was a guy who sold timeshares. And I would see him all the time and the way they get you to, uh, pay attention as they offer you a free trip to something like into the Ripley's Museum, or, you know, a boat tour or whatever. So that's how they pull you in. And I would see this guy. I don't see him working and he was working and he was working and he was always working people. And one time I thought, Okay, I'm going to engage this guy because I know what he is, and I know what he's doing. And I want to see the sales. But I want to see how it works. And always tell you never to do that. With time Circus will end up in a timeshare. But it was interesting because in the beginning he was super friendly and he was super nice. And he kept going. I kept telling him, you know. One point I said, Dude, I'm not buying a timeshare and he kept going. I said I'm not buying this time. Sure he kept going. I said Dude, look at me. If you want to give me free stuff, I'm going to take it. But I am not buying the time sharks. I know what a con job this is. And that line where he said. What else do you need to see? Because he kept trying to sell me on the bull crap. And no matter how many times I would tell him Thank you. I will take your free stuff. I'm not buying your timeshare because I believe you are full of crap. And then there was the turn and that What else do you need to see is exactly what I heard from the Kangai trying to rope people into timeshares. On the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach, because he wasn't getting what he wanted. He really wasn't your buddy. He really wasn't your friend and when he'd had enough of me, and he knew he wasn't going to sell the timeshare now I'm the villain. And it was like having a flashback. I was like this guy is literally a boardwalk carnival barking salesman Who's Angry that people aren't buying. It's bullcrap well and contrast it that that was the most remarkable thing for me was the contrast between the way that Biden talked about the great unwashed unvaccinated and then compare that to several people in his administration. Just the same day yesterday were praising the Taliban. They were full of praise for their business like professionalism in helping get Americans and other Westerners out of the country. They were praising Terrorist Peter Doocy. Holding up in sake's presser holding up a photo of the guy that is now in charge of law enforcement in Afghanistan who has got a $10 million bounty on his head from our state Department. And these are the same people that Sachi others in the administration. Who is the super squarely? Defense secretary, not the defense secretary. The secretary of state Blinken. Yes. So they're they're the ones that have the actual bounty on this guy's head, and they're calling the Taliban professional and we're gonna you know we're not. We're going to reserve judgment and see how they behave. And at the same time on the same day, Biden is talking about unvaccinated Americans in worse tones in in in Meaner tones than the way he describes terrorists and and compare that well, we take a break. I want to if we can, because I watched the Fox news feed, and when they got done, Brett Baer was on. It was time for him to be on. And he had the surgeon general on and I was. I want to get into that a little bit, because the way he handled it. I'm watching this, Although I'm going. That's the guy they should have sent out because the Biden message versus his message, saying the exact I mean they're getting to the exact same point, but the way they handled it and the way he was treating people because he was taking questions, they had pre recorded questions or whatever. The way he was treating and respecting them, even though he was telling him to go after themselves, But the way in which he was doing it, it was just it was night and day and maybe if we can have a second to get into that, and the super racist thing Joe Biden did yesterday. There was more than just the mandates well, but that I mean, but that's I mean, we have to point that out to people that on one hand, they want you to think it's only trump people that haven't been vaccinated, and on one hand, he's got the gall to say. Equity will be at the forefront of this distribution when a huge swath of people aren't getting it are black people because of how people like you have treated them as it relates to medicine? Yeah. And sticking stuff in their bodies. This mandate could not be more of an example of systemic racism. I mean, that's exactly what it is based on the people who have chosen for various reasons to not get the vaccine can we get into when we come back? We're going to do that. Stay tuned.
