A Look At The Last Presidential Debate

"Last night in Nashville us, President Donald, trump, and the man who hopes to replace him former vice. President Joe Biden debated for the second and final time. In this presidential campaign, it did meet the unexacting challenging challenge Rav of being a less rigidly undignified spectacle than the previous encounter between the candidates portions of it indeed could almost have been mistaken for some sort of discussion of. Policy but did we learn anything from it and is really imaginable that it changed any minds or moved any needles on joined for a thorough examination of last night shenanigans by Monaco's news editor Chris Chumash and US election correspondent, Thomas Lewis, and Chris. First of all to you in the studio of what if anything stuck out for you this time last time it was all about the bickering and name calling what was this one about so to start. With it was simply the news is that there was no not as much and name calling as last time. Frankly I wish we could have three debates like last night's it was actually a substantive debate with quite strong policy differences exposed between the two that were interesting and it also what I what struck me was it signalled how the parties, how both parties have really shifted stances in a couple of different ways. So there was some. Interesting exchanges, for example, even on on foreign policy, which we hadn't heard before on North Korea where trump for example lauded the fact that he had met with North Korea's leader Biden was the one to say you know he would only meet with the North Korean leader if they were preconditions attached, this is a complete reversal compared to Obama and the way that Republicans tend to be the tough one saying they wouldn't meet with leaders in the past. Racism was an interesting discussion on race as well. We're both sort of showed how much the country has shifted by both sort of highlighting the fact that they actually want to be. Put to put it in one way a bit softer on on crime to to be a bit softer particularly on drug crimes things like that that you know in the nineties the US took a very tough stance on and put a lot of black Americans behind bars both sort of highlighted their software. Abilities here in order in order to to cater to that to confront racism in the country. So there are some interesting policy shifts that I found in. Thomas what do you ascribe that difference in tone of this debate to worthy to candidates president trump in particular I guess. Taking a deliberately different approach or had they been backed into it by the changes in format? I think was the certain certainly Andrew. An element of being deliberate by Donald trump particularly because I think it's played so badly for him last time around during this railroading performance that we saw in Cleveland Ohio the start Tobe. So I think it was intentional. On his part and on Joe Biden's parts to I think the intention was to really just hammer home that the failings in the United States that moment essentially trump's fault and trying to tack every little element of it back onto the president as being unable to be an effective leader I thought Donald. Trump, was the one. Who really started coming back to his own talking points and I thought there were two or three kind of quite clear lines there I thought it was clear that Donald Trump was trying to portray himself as this kind of insurgent outsider. Once again, like we saw in twenty sixteen, which struck me as quite. Weird because he has been president for four years of course but it seemed to work for him last time and I think that's something he's not grasping for to try and cement his support within his base. We also saw him try to bring in Joe Biden's son. Hunter. Bite. and have been some fatty sort of suspicious revelations as an emails that actually many people now believe Iraqi the work of disinformation players but he brought that up several times and I, thought the. Moderator Kristen Welker ABC News She did actually pretty well to allow people to respond to the more outrageous things either candidate was saying, but she didn't let that dominates and I thought that really let the debate itself thing really. Well, let's troy rewarding the behavior. He wished to see more of our ye sensible discussion of actual policy. We have a couple of clips from the candidates they talked about immigration. This was what president trump had to say her children are brought here. By coyotes and lots a bad people cartels and they're brought here and they used to use them to get into our country. We now have a stronger borders we've ever had. We're over four hundred miles of brand new wall uc see the numbers and we let people in, but they have to come in legally and they come in through. WAS President Trump for Chris returning to basically the talking point with which he launched his campaign for president in the first place, which was the the specter of mass illegal immigration teaming over the Rio Grande is it still working for him? Well, I think that was what made this interesting because as as he say, immigration has sort of fallen down the list of priorities of concerns of Americans over particularly the last year of course for. Obvious. Reasons the economy taking taking center stage. This sort of exchange between Biden and trump was very interesting for that because it brought it back into the four reminded people perhaps of other things that have happened in Donald Trump's presidency. This clip particularly was about the fact that there are still some five hundred children that have not been able to find their parents. After having been separated at the border. So this was a very frank conversation, a challenge to Donald Trump to talk about his policy, but it was also something that he seemed unapologetic about quite happy to have this discussion because I think as you say, immigration is a topic that launched his campaign. It's been an important topic. He argues that he got the border. Under, control he did also make an interesting common that people could still come legally which I found somewhat interesting as well because it shows that perhaps even he is recognizing you know in many ways this debate, he was a little bit softer and less inflammatory in his rhetoric. Then he has been in the past he did though have also a bizarre. Remark a bit talking just about the children of the border saying, well, they're in very good conditions. They're they're in clean rooms So there's some strange. They're definitely some strange remarks within this but yes, I encourage people to listen to the immigration exchange. Well, this is what Joe Biden had to say on the same subject he's five hundred plus kids came with parents. They separated them at the border to make a disincentive to come to begin with. Bay Real. Tough. We're really strong and guess what they cannot not coyotes didn't bring them over their parents were with them they got separated from their parents. And it makes us a laughing stock in violates every notion of who we are as a nation. Tony swear eleven days out from polling date. Now, obviously, as we know, tens of millions of Americans have voted already, which makes the but the third, slightly less climactic than it may have been in previous years but they're all too contrasting visions. The candidates were trying to pitch here I mean Joe Biden to appropriate the talking point of Value Republican president is is clearly pitching the kinder gentler nation isn't he? He is absolutely and I think. They're actually was as Chris mentioned part of a section where Joe Biden really was really very well, he was interrupted a few times by Dominic shrimp, but he really kept his own and he really came across incredibly forcibly about sort of how opponent idea in principle separating telling children away from patterns at the border really is I that does plays and you say into his this idea that's. Donald. Trump is this sort of aloof man who lives in his own bubble whereas Joe Biden someone and he kept making this point over and over again he kept saying that I don't care if you vote for me if you don't vote for me blue states red state. That's not how I see the United States and I think that was quite effective. Donald trump didn't really seem to. Be He did soften lots of elements of his answers on some topics Chris alluded to but he wasn't really I'd be surprised if legions of new voters now come into Donald Trump's because of his performance last might think we've with Joe. Biden. He did paint nuanced detailed picture of of kind of this person of empathy and in the sort of different nuances in ways that that unfolds through him. And through his agenda for president so I think as you say, the fact that so many people this record number of people have voted or ready that probably does take the steam out a little bit of just how consequentialist debate was last night when we talk because he did at the start about needles moving and and big sort of campaign bombshells happening this late stage I'm not sure. It would have had affect last night, Thomas Lowest Chris show Mac. Thank you both very much for joining us.

Socialists Make A Strong Comeback In Bolivia

"Socialist appear to have made a strong comeback yesterday in Bolivia's presidential election. All of the votes have yet to be counted. But the handpicked candidate of ousted President Evo Morales seems to have taken a big lead in the first round. Those are supporters of socialist Louise Arcee, celebrating in downtown La Paz. NPR's Philip Reeves has been following this from his base in Rio de Janeiro and joins me now. Hi, Phil. Hi. Remind us what set the stage for this election. For the past year, Bolivia has been ruled by an interim president from the political right. Yeah, This goes back to late last year, when Morales was pushed out and went into exile. His opponent said he tried to rig an election. They cited an audit of that election by the Organization of American States that showed numerous irregularities. Others dispute those allegations and say Morales was the victim of a coup on elected interim government took over headed by right winger call Ginny Anya's. It's had a rough ride and yes crackdown on the opposition. Several dozen of Morales is indigenous supporters were killed by security forces during protests which polarized country of more Then the pandemic arrived in the electoral authorities postpone the election twice and that triggered mass protests and Nation and the nation wide blockade, and people were worried that yesterday's election would bring more unrest. But that didn't happen happily. So with all of this, how certain are we that the socialist Louise Arcee is actually one? Yeah, I mean, it doesn't appear that he's run out, won the first round outright, his main rival, Carlos Messer, today, conceded Saying that people have to recognize there's being a winner. The interim president Ginny Anya's tweeted, congratulations to us in his running mate Very early on Mexico in Argentina, You know, two big regional players politically on the left, have publicly congratulated him. And so, by the way is the U. S. Polls before the election did show us He was well ahead in the lead, you know as well in the lead, but his chances of winning out right in the first round weren't Sena's full. That great unofficial vote count indicate he's actually done that. But this hasn't been officially confirmed by the electoral authorities. They say the official count could take several days to complete. Can you say Maura about thie us in support of our say the U. S. Did concur with the allegations of border voter fraud committed by more Alice? Yeah, when they ran, it was pushed out. The Trump administration was frankly delighted, is a huge figure on the Latin American left. He was Bolivia's first indigenous president. He ruled for nearly 14 years. He's credited with growing the economy a lot not least through nationalization and lifting millions out of poverty with the help of a C who was his economy minister. S O. The prospect of a socialist comeback in Bolivia isn't likely to go down well in in Washington, the right wing tends to bracket morale is with Venezuelan Cuba and you know they saw his fall is a defeat for international socialism. But the State Department certainly saw the writing on the wall and has recently been saying it will work with whoever is legitimately elected. That's NPR's Philip Greaves. Thank you so

The Latest On municipal Elections

"A little bit about municipal elections of course in Brazil What what what's that? Give us give us the the big picture festival well, I voted a big deal because every single one of five, thousand, five, hundred. Seventy Brazilian cities will be voting for mayors and for councillors as well. So it's a big election, and of course, it's always as it happens to other countries it's a preview of the two, thousand, twenty, two presidential elections. So be interesting to see what's going to be the role of both sonar because of the beginning just a few months ago said, he's not going to get involved but now we're seeing that he's supporting a few of the candidates, but the thing is, of course, there's You know there's there's thirty or forty percent of the electorate that you know would vote for Bush scenario candidate but he's extremely toxic as well. the order. The same amount of number would never vote for a candidate supported by both sonar. Again I think it's going to be a very tough divisive election and again, Workers Party used to be such a strong political party Brazilian losing the appeal order. centre-left parties are starting to kind of gain more traction instead of the workers spiders. So that's an interesting thing about this election as well, and what do the polls say I mean just ready to? An association whether perceived or real with both narrow can be a boost or it can be a problem depending on where in the political spectrum you are. Do we know what the polls tell us and there's another interesting things on there in terms of the sorts of characters who are standing for action a big increase in number of military personnel. Explain also that we've talked about before absolutely and again this increasing military personnel of course, it comes more from the right-wing part but even the left they have some candidates and even in their names when people are voting is like major tone. Exactly. Or you know they they actually add they're tied to pseudo name. So people know exactly what they used to do but you know I was talking about another classic example here's some Paul the first South who someone is, is a hat on the polls he's supported by scenario is a TV presenters will kind of a populist even though he's ahead I'm not sure if he's actually going to win because there's he has a vast number of people that will never vote for him just because of his association with both Sonar, and in Rio you know we're loosing the blue. Shoe, quite a lot about this. Myself Valleys the current mayor and a former gospel singer as well. Again, he only have like forty percent of the polls. He didn't do a very good administration from. What I hear from people living there as well but he's the candidates have been supported by both sonar. I wonder if we're that can tell us a bit more house the reaction. Rio above that listen to I was going to bring you speak about Venezuela in a second but just on this point about it's both scenario I mean is he he sort of overshadow everything? Is it one of those things being Vanessa mentioned if we look at Rio these races, they're also have proxies for people's view about both in our that's certainly what it seems like sometimes looking from the outside. Yes. But also particularly that the main issue in. The minute always been it's totally economic, right so aside from all these elections and everything, it's really which parties are willing to offer some sort of boost to to the people living there and what we have. She had underneath the Bulls Nar administration in recent months, which allows cariocas from, which is, of course, this this payout to to the most deprived in the population, which is and so will very much depend on whether that sort of extended over the next few months to tidy through the election or not I. Think I think economic issue is a big thing. Here we go. There's some interesting aspects. Of this election as well so far we had the record number of candidates thirty, four percent of all the candidates are women. That's a record that doesn't mean that they will be elected sometimes they come from the smaller political parties as well, and for the first time we have candidates, they are either black or mixed race then white, that's a that's a first So even though we are under the administration that probably don't care that much about quotas or this kind of things but you know you see a little bit of change in Brazil perhaps the candidates are beginning to start to look like. The population in general. So that's an interesting aspect of this election and certainly something to welcome just briefly Fernando. Last point on. This is one of these areas where it would be a mistake to read too much into what happens in the municipal elections where we look ahead to the next general election or actually is quite a good indicator of which way the political winds on a national level also blowing I think we should definitely pay attention to this election in two thousand sixteen. We saw the rise of the right and kind of you could kind of understand Wassenaar was elected two years after. Okay interesting. Stuff listen. Let's cross back to you and I I mentioned Venezuela let's talk about this. You were living there I think some some years ago, but there's this really complex interesting legal battle that also comes right here to to London town as well. Tell us a bit more about this. Yes. So don't remind listeners the Maduro government launched legal action against the Bank of England earlier this year to try and force the Bank to release gold that the country has stored in the bank sports and England's quartered appeal decision that was made earlier this week on Monday isn't as definitive, some of the headlines had suggested. And they're sort of several layers to this. But essentially, the appeals court overturned a judgment which said that the UK had recognized opposition leader one guy do as Venezuela's rightful president. So in other words that local ruling is a victory for Maduro essentially sidelining any perceived power that Guido had as Venezuela's rightful president but Monday's decision actually means that this whole I mean it's a lot of money is a one billion. Dollars equivalent in gold. It will go back to the High Court in England and it will be up to a higher court to determine more definitively which of these two rival leaders is in charge in Venezuela and therefore he has control over the shiny gold bars which obviously tend to grab the column inches but I guess into this is a case where. This case speaks to a bigger picture dozen and it does also reflect this ongoing, very divisive political battle in in. Caracas. Can you just tell us what is the latest there what? What's the situation? Is it one of these things where again Everything that flows politically flows out of the economic strife, the country still during. Quite right I mean reading the actual ruling it disorders show unpick really the mess that Venezuela and the international community has got itself into with this to President Saga that's been going on since January twenty nineteen and the upstate new nothing the people who've been living there I mean in abject poverty fleeing the country in the millions and that has no proper healthcare system i. Mean when I was living back in twenty seventeen lesson learned today to do with this highly contagious virus. So the situation is critical as I say, having having an uncleared dramatic stance, own issues like the Golden, the Bank of England, which mode no doubt will go on for months only wasn't the the situation inside the country and creates stalemate when nothing moves on or improves. Tricky Times still ahead listen to it was good to hear from you, and if you're here in studio thank you. That's Markle's if you had noticed and Lucinda Elliott

Trump’s medical team says he could be discharged from Walter Reed as soon as Monday

"Could be headed back to the White House as soon as Monday that from the president's medical team who held a briefing today, here's a clip from that Dr Sean Connolly, speaking in front of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Over the course of his illness. The president has experienced two episodes, Transit drops his oxygen saturation, and and there there was was much much more more information information from from today's today's briefing, briefing, particularly particularly compared compared to to yesterday's. yesterday's. Let's Let's welcome welcome NPR NPR science science correspondent correspondent Richard Richard Harris. Harris. Good Good Morning, Morning, Richard Richard and Dr Carlos del Rio, an epidemiologist at Emory University. Hello, do you Are you? Well, Richard, I'm going to start with you. But let's hear first. Ah clip from Dr Brian Garbled E. On the treatments the president has received. We continue to plan to use a five day course of Rome disappear. In response to transient low oxygen levels as Dr Conley has discussed. We did initiate Dexter methadone therapy, and he received his first dose of that yesterday. And our plan is to continue that for the time being All right, Richard, What does that tell you? Well, that tells me that the president was at fifth had very least serious course of disease, and he's getting sort of the top line treatment to address it. The decks the method zone is a steroid. Drug that helps tap down inflammation, which can be a really bad sign in somebody who's immune system may be starting to overreact to the virus. So doctors have come to realize that this is actually capable of saving lives in people. This is the only drug that has actually been demonstrated to do that with Corona virus, and so they've given it to him that will really help stabilize his immune system. That's the hope and of course, the room disappear is a drug that is designed to stop the virus from mass producing itself inside the body. The FDA is authorised its use, but specifically people who are really sick enough that they need help breathing. It has now become evident that the The president's had a couple of episodes where his oxygen levels were dropping. And and at least one instance where they gave him supplemental Oxygen. So s so it looks as though he's you know, getting pretty aggressive treatment for his for his condition, which seems appropriate And surprising to me is how quickly they expect that he may actually be able to go home. Maybe as soon as tomorrow. Well, Dr Del Rio. Let's talk about that. We heard in the clip in the introduction. The doctors they're talking about the president's oxygen levels. As we know with covert 19. It does affect the lungs and oxygen. Saturation is a real big indicator about how well you're doing. So, what did you hear there? Well, you know, I heard several things that hurt that. He he was there when you need to put things together. He's initially diagnosed. He's got mild of these, like, you know, 84% of people of covert have smiled. But they made the decision to give them the one of the two call antibodies Regeneron one and that's currently being studied in people with mild disease. We don't need to be in the article. Then his options saturation crops, and the decision is to transfer into the hospital because once your oxygen saturation cross below 94%, even if it's transitory. You're immediately in the category of no longer mild or moderate, but in the category of being released and its investigations that boat from disappear and Memphis on has proven to be effective. And that's exactly what the president has received was given disappeared. He conceded that the medicine and that's where he currently is right now, Dr Florio. This's important so I'm going to put this to you all along. They had been describing The president's symptoms as mild. You seem to be suggesting that the moment his oxygen levels dropped and he was given supplemental oxygen and then put on these experimental treatments. You could no longer categorize him what he was experiencing as mild symptoms. That is correct. Correct at that point in time, the president no longer having me having mild disease. That's how he's having severe disease, and he's put in a different category. And you know, that explains why Mark Meadows was concerned as express complains why he was actually he told us you know the president. We were very concerned. You know exactly that. I think he's telling you, he was telling the truth. But then I guess the question is your your doctor. Why wouldn't the presidents of the president's doctors have explained it in the same way? I mean, we heard today. Dr Conley say that he wanted to give an upbeat assessment. But that seems at odds with perhaps what the truth may have been. That is correct. I mean, I don't want to to say you know, but I was quite frankly, very disappointed by the press briefing yesterday. I think the press briefing yesterday. What spent he was speaking like a spin doctor. He wasn't speaking like a medical doctor. And you know the job of a loss in medicine when you're doing something like this, especially when somebody who is as important as president is to is to speak the truth and to be transparent, and I think, you know, Unfortunately, we are an administration were transparency and truth has not been at the forefront of this of this response. And we're seeing even in this case when the president of the patient

Like all right I'm this is my new place I've decided I'm going to really just learn this this technology and and live in this ecosystem I, want the podcast like how do I where do I go to start listening to him and there were zero the hedonism before and they'd all shutdown I'm like there's just no Po-. So I thought well I kind of always wanted to start a podcast anyway, but didn't have a topic. I'm somewhat new at this, but I don't mind. You know to put myself out there, and if if people don't hate the idea of it, maybe I'll keep doing it and so I just started it because I wanted to hear the stories told about what's amazing things people are doing in programming and specifically and Python. And those stories weren't being told so I'm like, Oh, I, guess I'll be the first listener.

Why a private section of the border wall is allegedly failing

"By Iraq war veteran Bryan Cole Fatchett, triple amputee. They wanted to raise a billion dollars to quote build Trump's wall. The targeted mission Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, one of the busiest illegal border crossing areas in the country, all on the border. We're here building. You gotta help out. They had started producing the video's promoting this project and they were on the property. They started clearing the property before anyone really knew what was going on The company Clearing the riverbank to build the private wall was Fisher Sand and Gravel. Tommy Fisher, the company's CEO, had been trying and failing to land a lucrative border wall contract from the government. Since 2017. When the Trump administration began soliciting Wall design concepts. Fisher was one of the companies to put up a prototype. Officials of the Department of Homeland Security said it had design flaws. A second bid was also rejected. Frustrated Tommy Fisher took another approach. We really believe with our patent pending system, we could bring sexy. Back to construction. He became a fixture on Fox News, the president's favorite network at the time, people time sounding less like a contractor and more like a contestant on a reality show pandering to an audience of one, You know, hopefully the president will see this as well. And he's a guy who says he can cut through bureaucracy two weeks after that appearance on Fox In April of 2019. I don't know if you heard about this contractor that said he could build the whole wall for a lot cheaper than anybody else. Yes, I have. We're dealing with him. Actually, Fisher Comes from North Dakota. Recommended strongly by a great new senator. As you know, Kevin Cramer, by May of 2019 Tommy Fisher had the president's attention but still couldn't land a contract to build the government's wall. The Army Corps of Engineers, which oversees border wall construction, pointed to the company's lack of experience building border walls to prove they could fissure teamed up with we build the wall. First in New Mexico and later here on the banks of the Rio Grande admission. On the banks of any rivers difficult. But building on the raging Rio Grande is especially challenging, made more complicated because the U. S Mexico border but straight down the middle of it. So any plans to build on it must be approved by the International boundary and Water Commission for I, B. W C. Sand and gravel didn't get that approval before they started. Bulldozes. What steps did they skip? All of them. What should they have done? They should have gone to the I B W c to the A and presented their plan an actual plan. What about this idea that you know this is private money being used on private land and a landowner could do whatever he wants. They absolutely can do whatever they want on their property. As long as it doesn't affect other people's property. And you think the wall infringes on other clearly does. The way the bollards were built is gonna cause clogging of that wall, So those followed the trash or debris could get stuck in there and then the waters. It's a giant break, just like a rake in your yard. It's going to catch all that debris and redirect that water. Penna filed a lawsuit on behalf of a neighboring wildlife refuge called the National Butterfly Center, which feared the wall would cause flooding to its property. U. S government also suit on behalf of the I. B. W C. Good walls make good neighbours. But this wall did not. We've got rogue priest running around anti Trump anti Won't we build the walls? Bryan Cole fragile, launched attacks against anyone who opposed their wall. Falsely saying the national Butterfly Centre was the site of a rampant sex trade and that the Army Corps of Engineers was part of the deep state even took game and Father Royce Nights a local priest to oppose the Trump wall. Accusing him of promoting child trafficking. Also not true. We build the wall people came after you personally and that's something I didn't even know who they were. They're coming after the local priest. Yeah, I guess you're not from around here comes from around here. We can. Even Mom and Dad can disagree about things without being mean and nasty. Last December, Brian Colfax bragged in an interview that we build the wall had a direct line to the White House. We have Crispo back and Steve Bannon A lot of people that are tied in with the Trump administration, so we're able to back channel things to the Trump Administration and let them know what we're doing, But what they were doing was falling apart. A recent engineering inspection after summer storms revealed deep gashes under the foundation of the wall. That's Mariana Trevino, right, who runs the Butterfly center line underneath it. This was a normal seasonal rainfall and what happened to the wall the foundation washed out from under enormous sections of it, His attorney said after this, that this is just a normal part of new construction if you walked out of your new house And had a 30 FT hole under your home foundation. Would you consider that normal? There's the end of the hall right

"I'd like to welcome to the show, Audrey and Manlio Diamante from travels with AUDREY DOT COM and they've come to talk to us a better region of Italy you may or may not have heard of for Yuli. Venezia Giulia. Andrian manlio welcome to the show. Ain't you Chris and thank you for inviting us to be on your bucket today. Thank you Chris Thank goodness well, and we've picked a region of Italy that I couldn't have told you the name of I know where it is about. Where are we talking about? First of all, if we put this on a map Well. If we were to put it on poor looking at the most northerly and easterly region of Italy incense ranked. In the corner literally border the North would be Australia The you're on the right would be slow being young. Then we have the Adriana CCD so we're an also the region of vinet. Oh. So you're about a hundred and solid kilometers from Venice, if you were to be an Bene- some wanted to travel to live in his Julia. Along the highway that would be approximately about one hundred kilometers and. We'll get into his tryst. So that is actually, yes, that's correct Essentially up but would unit is the one that would be most typical the one that really represents reach enough. You're getting ahead of us. Before. We get there. Why are we talking about this region because I'm not going to try and say it every time we say this because you see it so much better than I do what is your connection to Fluey Valencia Julia Well. My husband is born and raised and in. So he actually also be Lionel which is a local language. I actually met my husband and he. Shot on location to Spain, and so a friend of mine asked me to stop in a visitor in Italy and when I did, I, actually met my husband for the first time in this was in ninety seven. And then he later on emigrated to Canada. Got Married. Will and why should someone go to really Well a food essential yet is one of those regions I mean most of us think that there are token room. Most. Now, there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, the name as a reason, I'm right. I would probably say somebody if you're traveling for the first time to Italy to do the Venice. Florence, and the Rome but for anyone who's looking for a more authentic way of appreciating Italy, then you need to go into some of the regions that are less traveled and as you as one of those, and it is really in a very good location if you really think about it because. I so much to offer from the beaches by good idol. History going back to the Roman history, the lull of our history world or one history that is worse. The front was for World War One and some of the worst battles that were ever fought or along from the car so and these own so. which my husband can talk to you more about you have the Alps and will you can go skiing in the wintertime amazing wine the quiet you're y region is world famous. Now they produce some of Italy's best white wines and the photo of course is quite unique because. Latins. A mixture of different cultures the Australian. The. Italian. So it has for a traveler they can spend easily a week and this particular region. and. Enjoy it without rushing and seeing quite a bit and is not just about lying. It's about so much more and if they wanted to add a week. Of the Australia they ads Vania or they could advantage what did I do not doin? The. Bending on how they want to program their time. Excellent will in what kind of are you gonNA recommend for us. It was one week hurry and it would be centered around the fugitive and essentially in Rio. And some of the key points to keep places that I would recommend would be, of course, the as they would be the capital and then of course. We have also the cheated on the time of she that we have sunshine yearly, which is where my husband's mother comes from. And they're famous for the BUSHEL. And then of course, we do the mountain area could pop into Saudis for example, or we could go into van Saun name and Sony in. Leitch are two towns a really represent how he only that was devastating binary choice in one, thousand, nine, hundred, seventy, six in really showcases the people themselves how suffered this major earthquake? Literally As you experience that you were there, I did yesterday what about a thousand people who died back in nineteen seventy, six cents I would say a large portion of region was actually essentially destroyed in Seoul the two towns my wife is referring to there called been solely and Jim Malone and they're very they're close to each other right next to each other one of them is a UNESCO side and that's been. So it's a UNESCO side because it maintained. The original character prior to the earthquake even though it was completely built, but it's very touching in it's very characteristic of the regional freely. So we would definitely recommend it

Biden Pledges To Dismantle Trump's Sweeping Immigration Changes — But Can He Do That?

"Joe Biden has pledged if he becomes president to dismantle the sweeping changes that President Trump has made to the US immigration system but could buy Don't do that. As NPR's John Burnett reports. It's easier said than done. People most closely watching to see if Biden defeats Trump and reverses. His immigration crackdown may be beyond our borders. Some 700 migrants languish in filthy tents pitched in a public park amid mud. Maps and clouds of mosquitoes. The encampment is in Matamoros, just across the Rio Grande from Brownsville, Texas. They're seeking asylum in the U. S. But stuck here under a Trump initiative known as remain in Mexico while they wait there closely following US presidential race, says Carlo Garcia, an asylum seeker from Honduras. They buy the place our hope in Joe Biden, who's the Democratic nominee because he would shoot the immigrants very differently than Trump has. We hope he will. And change is all of this Trump has created. This is discrimination and racism. Trump is touting that program's success here He is at a rally in Yuma, Arizona. Last tough. We don't want him here. We want him outside. We got sued all over the place. There. We won. So now they don't come into the United States taken Wait out. While the president claims to have restored a broken immigration system, human rights advocates are appalled that what they call the cruelty of his policies. Oh, Marge. Odd. Watt is director of the L Use Immigrants rights project. What the administration has sought to do is to simply turn off immigration and to do it unilaterally. By presidential edict without the approval of Congress. That project should be reversed. And that's exactly what Joe Biden pledges to do. His position paper on Immigration 51 bullet points over 22 pages seeks to roll back Trump's accomplishments and reenact Obama era policies. If I'm elected president, we're going to immediately and Trump's sold on dignity. Immigrant communities restore our moral state in the world are our historic rolls a safe haven for refugees and asylum seekers. Biden says no more border wall no more separating immigrant families, no more prolonged detentions or deportations of peaceable migrant workers. He would restore the asylum system and create a roadmap to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. It's a long to do list. I don't think it's realistic that Biden in four years could enroll everything that trump dead. Sarah Pierce and another analyst that the Migration Policy Institute, a nonpartisan thinktank recently catalog more than 400 executive actions Trump has taken on immigration. From heavier border and interior enforcement to restricting asylum to slashing refugee visas to creating remain in Mexico because of the intense volume and pace of change is the Trump administration enacted while in office. Even if we have a new administration, Trump will continue. Tio have had an impact on immigration for years to come. But Biden faces a host of obstacles that could slow his immigration counter revolution. First, there's the specter of renewed chaos at the southern border last year groups as large as 1000 Central Americans at a time. We're waiting across the Rio Grande into El Paso to request asylum. The Border Patrol was overwhelmed and ended up detaining families in primitive, unsanitary conditions. And no one wants a repeat of that. Ron Vitello, former deputy commissioner of customs and Border protection, worries that Biden will cancel bilateral agreements with Mexico that have dramatically slowed the migrant flow right now decided that they weren't going to continue to help us. You know, people would start coming through like we saw the caravans two springs ago. There's no reason that it wouldn't come back as fast as it Wass. NPR asked a senior advisor to the Biden campaign. What would happen if the new president gave migrants of Green light? The adviser said. They're cognizant of the pull factor. Then there's the issue of the enforcers. Immigration agents have enjoyed extraordinary support from the White House, the Trump administration has bragged about unshackling them to let them do their jobs more aggressively. What happens if Joe Biden tries to put the shackles back on? That isn't something that the lights which you can't change culture within an organization that best overnight. Angela Kelly is a senior advisor to the American Immigration Lawyers Association. So I agree that it's going to be a long long road. A Biden presidency would also find itself skirmishing with conservative lawyers over its reversals. The way Trump has been tied up in federal court fighting the R. J. Hamann is with the Federation for American Immigration Reform. If Biden is elected, and his administration starts rescinding executive actions that Trump had firm legal authority to Dio groups like us will sue. That is a fact. Finally, there's the Pandemic and NPR Ipsos poll showed a majority of Americans support Trump's decision to shut the borders to all types of immigrants to stop the spread of the Corona virus. Biden has not said if he would reverse that order. So it's anybody's guess when the virus will subside and the nation can welcome immigrants again. John Burnett NPR news

The Cat and Mouse Game at the Mexico-U.S. Border

"Paso del Norte Bridge Pass of the North here people crossed from Horace to Al Paso or Paso to warez every day they crossed by car and foot to go to work to school to shop to visit family chaos and clutter hustle and bustle and adjacent train trestle called Black Bridge crosses nearby the scene of the tragic shooting. So many years ago. US border, patrol agent shot, and killed a fifteen year old Mexican boy after that. So what happened at the Rio Grande? Well, the facts are disputed. So we'll tell both sides of the story was talking about the circumstances that brought about the shooting the boy's parents say Sergio was playing a game with friends run across the border to the US side touch defense run back without getting. Caught kind of like a game of chicken. Yeah. I mean what kid hasn't played some version of that Game Kisha branch works for Barra Borderland Connections a nonprofit helping asylum seekers. She spends her days at shelters in El, Paso and shelters in Horace. She works closely with migrants and Border Patrol agents all that to say she's familiar with the area and the dichotomy of working with both sides. There are some kids that that play at the border, the border in New Mexico in an opera. There's a community right beside the border wall. There's a a lot of land and there's a trash pile, and so sometimes, the like moms will go out in like pick things out of the trash Powell for their homes like for household items. There are people that go into that space like where we go to visit the wall there some kids that come up to the wall and they talk to us and we'll just have conversations with them. So. Yeah. Are Kids that play in that area, but they play in the area because it's their backyard. But that's in an opera. What about downtown in the Rio Grande Canal by the bridge where the shooting happened according to my cabdriver it's not generally an area where kids play. Do kids play around the fence around the border. No. They don't let them get near. So that leads us to the other side of the story. Border Patrol says, Sergio was a coyote helping undocumented people illegally cross into the United States. coyotes often use coordinated distraction techniques. Draw the agents attention away from his surroundings victim. An Harrah's was the chief Border Patrol agent out of Paso when the shooting occurred he's now retired we used to call those still do they would call it a sacrificial room. Send someone a across or group appeal across to get the agent to react get the agent to start chasing a group and and what they do is soon as the agent leaves that that high. Position they say whatever they want to send. WHAT THE REAL INTENT It's almost like a diversion. So that happens all the time dangerous game, the game of cat-and-mouse. The boys ran back and forth across the border agent Mesa detained. One of Sergio's friends Sergio ran back to the Mexican side. He hid behind a pillar under the train trestle. That's when agent Mesa shot him in the face. Mesa says Sergio and his friends were throwing rocks, both men, Harrah's and George Gomez. The agent I talked with at the beginning of this episode, Say agents are trained for physical assaults cures, Gomez. Goh, there's different scenario that we run the training. Obviously, I think covered drive away from the air run seek cover and backup call for backup deescalate. Behavior. Here's the thing I don't want to downplay rock-throwing. David. With Iraq agent Mesa may very well have been endangered. Peres. Getting right and he's got a he's hunched over the guy that he was arresting. And you got your back towards man. You're you're you're really at risk even under the high pressure of split-second decision making the use of lethal force here has been criticized bystanders video captured the fatal shooting. In the video Sergio unarmed again, Kisha Branch who works at the border. The story that came out in the news is different from a story that we hear from the agents themselves. So I don't. I don't I have I have no answers Sergio's parents of course, do want answers and a legal remedy. Meaning an award of damages, the family believes the US. Constitution. Guarantees Sergio certain rights now the constitution of the United States setup the framework for the American government and the various rights people have with respect to the government right and the constitution applies to more than US citizens the preamble the very beginning of constitution says we the people of the United States so it doesn't specify Melvin Odi is a constitutional law professor at Faulkner University. which generally talking about in the way, the courts interpret these things into generally talking about the people who comprise the United States. We the people of the United States People Citizens Resident Aliens International Travelers in this country on holiday or for business when you're in the United States, those protections apply to you. But when you go back to wherever your home country is, those objections do not apply United States meaning of course, that's going to be. The Continental United States, but also include The US territories the special maritime jurisdiction of the United States which would be like on the seas. As far as the borders. The constitution applies within our borders and again sort of the territories that we control. Chris Galindo is one of the lawyers who represented the Hernandez family. Here's a clip from a video called Justice for Sergio Audio and Spanish here from a univision news investigation. Dominicano. Wasim Anthem Nisa. He says, can we sue the American government to be sure Hernandez was in Mexico and is Mexican the American government said we can't sue them because this is Mexico. Not The United States we're saying not bullet originated in the United States and they have to pay for the injustice. They did Moses Shindo is guy. I WITH MY NEIGHBORS GET TICKET WINDOW GOES ON WE are saying there are certain laws and certain ways. The Border Patrol agents need to treat human beings Mexican or American according to United States Laws Federal K. K. K. K.. You the Sergio's mom pleads God for help for justice this is going to haunt me until I leave this world. This acronym you can. Okay. Vido. Sergio's parents sued agent Mesa in Federal Court for excessive use of force. They claim Mesa violated Sergio's rights under the fourth and fifth amendments. Now here's a reminder of what those are faulkner professor Melvin Odi. Okay so The Fourth Amendment Fifth Amendment each sort of presents a bundle of rights but the fourth amendment in particular. Presents a list of restrictions on government agents were investigating crimes. Okay. So the prominent one is protection against. Searches and seizures. The court has interpreted seizure to include killing the taking of human. Life. Would have been saying. This was an unreasonable search and seizure the fifth amendment includes several closets. Relevant one, but there's a catch all. Near the end of the Fifth Amendment that says a person can't read deprived of life liberty or property without due process of law. So. In this case, the young man's life was taken. And the Fifth Amendment says, you can't do that without due process of without fundamentally fair legal proceedings. The first time this case worked its way through the court system the fifth US Circuit Court. Of Appeals dismissed the case it held Sergio's parents were not entitled to fourth and Fifth Amendment protections under various legal doctrines, but the Supreme Court said the fifth circuit and properly applied those legal doctrines. So it vacated the decision rendered null and void that was Hernandez one in. Two thousand, seventeen, the Supreme Court then remanded the case with specific instructions. It's at another question needed to be addressed. I is a givens remedy available. The Fifth Circuit said, no in this Supreme Court, appeal followed Hernandez

"Ron, Rivera has been so open and up front and trying to leave the organization in step with with the movement that we're seeing in the country, the black I mean they Ron Rivera. basically and the redskins organization has embraced the black lives. Matter Movement Oh. They've created a commission accounts to you which I doubt that Jack del Rio's going to be a part of. At this point. You're at the point now where news organizations or writing stories about your social media. That's the problem. When when people writing stories about what you post on social media, and you're a defensive coordinator on a football team. You've got a big problem. Yet, but nothing's been done so far about that problem. They hoping it'll go away because if they're hoping it'll go away with response to public reaction. Then we get to the time where his players are together with him. Does he have to address his players? You know and on some level you know I do believe he should be who he is, and he should say I have the right to my beliefs I have a right to vote for who I want to vote for half. Have the right to believe in what I want to believe in. So do you and I support that right? Support your right to believe and vote for whom? You vote for and I'd ask that you support minor. Does it have to go further where he has to? You know really explain and justify and rationalize or backtrack which I don't see him doing personally. Well here's.

"Locker Room. where politics? You know everyone has sort of like. Not respected but built up their own personal walls about their own politics inside a locker room. You. Know and put them aside for the the Team Business You, know I think that's going to be different. Come. September and October particularly fueled with what what will be very volatile election and a very emotional election, and giving what we've been through in the past couple of months. and the message that silence is no longer an option. I think there's GonNa. Be some more NFL players than ever. They're gonNA have the outspoken. About their positions inside that room and it may conflict with people and they and and you know there's this feeling right now. If you're not with us, then you're part of the problem. Well, of course there's there's that feeling right now. There is definitely. As we've discussed. you know a an effort to Iraq kate free speech and Free Alternative Opinion Speech in particular in this country right now something that we've spent time talking about before in previous podcasts. We don't need to go there now. I know you've said that and I didn't disagree with it I, in fact, I could totally see it becoming much more of an issue now than maybe it's ever been in the past. Even going back to as we discussed, I think the other day. The nineteen sixty eight election between Humphrey Nixon you know it was just a different environment back then but I to me it's much it's even more. Potentially damaging or influencing on a locker room with a coach who's being asked to lead and lead a locker room? I can't go down the list of defensive players or offensive players. It really doesn't matter the players in the locker room. I don't know what their politics are, but I would guess that the majority are very much involved in what has been going on now will vote for Biden are anti-trump. And many of which in the locker room, black and white by the way who will believe that if you're a pro trump, you're a racist. You know that there's something bad about you. I think that will be the prevailing notion. It will be the majority. Well. You agree with me. We can't. We can't sit here and say every one of his players are going to disagree with them, because we don't know that but the Merwe Garneau, but the majority will we can. We can guess on that, yes. Yes I would agree with that. But I mean. This is the kind of thing that you're right for. Coach could be very divisive inside that locker room I mean to the point where let's say you got the defensive players who who life chat del Rio. No matter what is politics. And you've got offensive players, you know who never spent any time with del Rio were just totally offended by what he said, and and and what he's done on social media I. You could divide defense versus offense. It could for coach for the defense coordinator, arguably the second. Of Right Say del Rio a second in command behind Ron Rivera. Definitely on watching staff for sure. Yeah, it's not Scott. No, no, he's not not the set of a coach You know, get his first real GIG so Yeah, this could. This could be very volatile and I'd be shot. If you see anything else from Jack. Del Rio politically on social media as long as he's with this team. Okay I want to get to that in a moment, but but. I. We, we've talked about going back to capture nick, you know. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequence I think everybody understands that you know you have the right to say what you want. And if he's really passionate about his politics, and he's not concerned about the consequence more power to him, he has that right, but the consequence in his environment right now. is what we're discussing here. In the moment, Tom could be very divisive in the locker room. I would not discount. That is a possibility I also wouldn't discount the possibility that you. You get to training camp and it's all about football and that he's an excellent football coach. which everybody knows no one's ever said anything other than Jack del Rio is a really good defensive coach. You know at the very least but he was against players kneeling back in two thousand seventeen, even though he gave in, and you know he, he made it very clear against it, but he did give in and allow players especially marshawn Lynch who had been sitting for the anthem for years, and no one even really knew it or said anything about it. But. I before we even get to a locker room situation you just talked about. You doubt if you'll ever see anything more political from Jack del Rio on his twitter account first of all he has yet to delete the re tweet of AOC's tweet. He's he's not apologized for anything. He hasn't made a statement. I can't imagine Tommy, and some will disagree because they'll say well. Well that's he's his politics lineup with Snyder's politics. It doesn't matter. Snyder is in a business right now. Snyder wants a football team wants a culture change, and once this Ron. Rivera thing to work out I can't imagine he's thrilled and I cannot imagine that that, Ron. Rivera's thrilled that Jack del Rio a new prominent voice in an organization that needs to change its culture. is taking his politics public. especially, since.

"Or a buster Olney tweet. To make sure it is exactly them and not just one letter off or one syllable off or. Once in a while I'll make the mistake of re tweeting something. From from somebody who's reporting news which amid news? an ob from a fake website or fake fake twitter name but I don't think I've ever. Actually re tweeted a whole fake story. Have you ever when you've done that. Have you just apologized for it or you just deleted it? I've done. Both I deleted and apologize okay, so look that brings us to Jack del Rio on Tuesday night, the new redskins defensive coordinator, so there was this fake tweet that. made the rounds as if it had come from Alexandria Cossio Cortez's account AOC's account it read as follows. It's vital that governors maintain restrictions on businesses until after the November elections, because economic recovery will help trump be reelected a few businesses. A few business closures are job. Losses is a small price to pay to be free from his presidency. Hashtag keep us closed. Sue Somebody put that out on Monday and they dated it like in May. Now I know a lot of people that would have read that in would've legitimately thought that it was real coming from that particular source. But to your point. Old Jack, Del Rio or defensive coordinator he may be able to size up offense time. He but he can't size up a fake tweet at this point. Hearing he re tweeted it and wrote. Wow, question, mark, exclamation, point, exclamation, point, proof, dot, dot, dot, com on a Oh see, and he got taken to the woodshed on this, so that started a night of him on twitter, which included him re tweeting a candice Owens Video. If you don't know who owens's, she's a super conservative. Trump's supporting black female a pundit, and You know if if you've. All you gotta do is is Google Candice Owens to find out about her. She's got a massive following, but obviously a highly controversial figure He Re tweeted one of her tweets videos. He then liked the following tweets, one of which was a candice Owens tweet that read as follows. I'm just amazed that so many people actually believed that someone left a new and bubba smell. Let's NASCAR garage. She referred to Ms Bubbas Millette. I mean really people. It's twenty twenty folks anytime. Someone claims an old fashioned noose was used. There's a ninety nine point nine nine nine nine percent chance. It's a hoax that was tweeted out by Candice Owens on June, Twenty, third and Jack. Del Rio on Tuesday night. Liked that tweet. He also liked one of Charlie Kirks tweets. If you don't know who Charlie Kirk is another major super conservative pundit. He tweeted out. Someone tries to topple. A monument to a US president is not a protester there rioter and a criminal time to start quickly arresting and indicting the domestic terrorists who are doing damage to America. Then he got a tweet. Which is now been deleted? it's back up. It was deleted this morning. It's backup. He got a tweet that said just found out coach. Del Rio is a trump supporter. Wish these old racists with stay off Twitter del Rio, re tweeted it in wrote I'm one hundred percent for America. If you're not, you can kiss my ass, and it was actually a with dollar sign, dollar, sign and in caps well, I, guess the dollar sign wouldn't technically be a cap, but the A is in caps. So. That's the night he had on Tuesday night. You can start with your reaction and then I'll give you mine. Well this is what I brought up earlier to you now. This is more of a coach player. Player player thing. But I think. NFL.

"Or dressing down so. Interesting. Yeah I didn't know that by the way the redskins didn't play the colts every year, but they did playing back to back in seventy, seven and seventy. Eight I've watched this game. It's available on Youtube. it starts with Howard Cosell, interviewing Bert Jones and billy kilmer on the field for the game, and then they go into you know, the Monday night football team right after that so anyway How did we get on this? Oh Burke was on a flight with me to New Orleans. You might going home because he's from New Orleans! Right I mentioned suck form. And that's how this. Although that's how this all started. Okay, Let's start with Jack del Rio, and what he did on twitter, the other night and I didn't do the show yesterday. I didn't have a chance to weigh in on this and I'm sure you followed this as well. Jack del Rio for those that missed it and are hearing about it for the first time on Tuesday night. you know really got active on twitter, which he has been very active on twitter. It was only a you know. Couple of months ago on the radio shows like a Jack. You May WanNa just tone it down a little bit on twitter. Tommy I don't know if you re recall this, but in April, I'm so about two and a half months ago. It was early April. He got duped by by a parody site called the Babylon be a fake site. You know a comedy site basically because they put this fake story out there that was titled. Liberal treated with hydroxy chloroquine hopes. He's still dies of covid nineteen to prove that trump is stupid and Jack del Rio re tweeted that and wrote pure ignorance, and of course people lit them up with dude. It isn't real He never responded to that so the other night he was really active on twitter again. This is the redskins new defensive coordinator. Coming into an organization that's preaching culture change. And really making a lot of moves that that speak to the Times Tommy. Wouldn't you say Oh.

"The opposite anything to get an edge yet anything There was a story. The other night That someone was telling and I can't remember who it was now But it it dovetails off of this that someone They arrived at a stadium for a road game the day before and practice in that facility and I want to say that it was the raiders. I believe it was the raiders and so they Were rummaging through the the locker. Room that the raiders gave them wasn't adequate so on the day that they went there to practice. I may be getting some of the details At a place here But but the general the general Substance of it still apply so somebody found the game plan. The Raiders Game Plan for the dolphins the next day in a locker in the raiders locker room because the dolphins had gone into us that locker room because the other locker room just wasn't adequate enough and they wanted to use a better locker room for the day that they were there to practice. They brought it. That person brought it to the defensive coordinator for the dolphins at the time and said look what I found and he said well. You'RE GONNA have to you know you're going to have to bring that coach Shula And to make a long story short they lost the game and the guy. The player said to the defensive coordinator. What the Hell. We had their game plan and he said. Shula looked at it and said you put that thing back or you throw that thing away. We will not use that. We will beat them fair and square. We're not GONNA take any advantage. That wasn't And you know I actually with a situation like that I I have a sense that a lot of teams may have returned it. Maybe I don't know the Patriots wouldn't have they wouldn't and the raiders and the raiders wouldn't not tear opponent. I'M PRETTY SURE. The raiders were the were the opponent But Yeah Dick Anderson saying that he did not like Belichick. But I'm telling you me I could have this wrong and it could be sort of fake from his standpoint but he really talked in a way in which it was apparent to me that Shula's one of his guys like Shula's one of the guys Paul Brownie felt the same way about Paul Brown. Are you know a couple of the guys that he thinks are the greatest of all time or certainly up there among the greatest of all time but anyway you know I thought of another team that would use it the redskins? Would you accept? They would still lose. Yeah well Probably you know. There's your daily two three times daily shot at the redskins without any without even being conversation. All right Jack del Rio Jack. Del Rio's the REDSKINS defensive coordinator. He's been head coach many times. It's been a defensive quarter many coordinator many times. He's coached great players mentioned yesterday. I think some of the comments that he made about chase young recently and And He tweets a lot like Jack del Rio tweets a hell of a lot. I don't know how many coaches tweet allot or don't tweet a lot jack. Del Rio tweets a lot. He tweeted something at the beginning of this pandemic. If you recall it was a response to basically a parody site where he was serious anyway Yesterday he re tweeted a hogs haven tweet and story hogs havens one of those redskin blogs websites. They've done a really good job over the years Kevin Walled. Originally some of those guys And I I. I think they've done a really good job. But anyway they wrote a very lengthy story Titled Hell Far. Back did Greg Muskie hold the two thousand nine redskins defense and they went through. What was a terrible defensive season for the Redskins last year and Heldman Dusky essentially accountable for most of the disaster last year and Jack del Rio read. The story re tweeted this story and wrote the following when he re tweeted it quote. I'd like to suggest we turn the page and look to the future. Greg is a good man and it is never about one man forward. We will spend our energy working to improve at all three levels of our defense. It's not about talent but who plays the best on Game Day exclamation point Hashtag onto next Hashtag h? T. T. R? Would you think of that tweet? Well it's interesting because Jack del Rio should pay attention to the history the past and learn as much as he can about what happened here before apply. I'll give you an example And.

"Of where you've been really drop your career but especially interesting the time from two thousand twelve in london to where we aren't twenty sixteen here in rio and it has not been an easy road for you to get back to this point has it yeah i think from wanted the now it's been pretty difficult you know what to reach or dream of of winning they'll at the games it's kind of hard to get back to the pool wonder why might do if somebody done everything out of it ever wanted to accomplish but for me there is still still healthy i want to go to another le big games and is still an all y for work the little and try to help me get back into the sporting really get back that passion and drive in a cycle for that now david's been there steal your first time on ice and a podium at the olympic games what what goes through your mind what went to remind today a lot of things are going through my mind this was my first olympic event and we ended up comically the silver medal in their first it i never which was pretty exciting and not not something that happens with team usa in the sport of diving lot so we're there's a whirlwind of emotions that went on as you can see from the video earlier today but it it's still hasn't really sunk in that world pick silver medalist and the timing or cinco at the rio two thousand sixteen on picks like it my mind is blown when i qualified for this one pick team and i feel like this meadows just icing on the cake and what's even cooler is on the nineteenth we both get to go back and compete against each other in high for another opted to get back on that podium it was a cool experience and i wonder wanna shared it with anyone besides davis but you certainly don't want to share the podium with him on the night knicks sacked i got a win gold cleats will never happen if recently yeah well but if one of you wins in wanting over as well that's ok too right tickets five david gets to silver's one picks like how cool with that we've got to step high on the podium i guess is the question though is gonna one of it as well congratulations to your both they've very very cool moment for you guys and that's a lot the rest of the way more to come on tonight in rio from last would won this is the twenty sixteen rio only big gains why do when you don't go to guy go to come carr insurance can seem intense like breakup are in be in tents you coming easy it's going to be a good outcome anytime updated check your bouncing without all the extra drama menu.
