"So we're going to have to bail out everybody in then we're gonna have to do our due diligence to see who really we should have left to go bankrupt but there wasn't enough time to do that. We had to say the economy. And i you. I don't think she was wrong. I actually think she was right in this but we have it now all taken the time to go back and figure out the moral hazards that we've created and the companies that we've sustain that should go bankrupt and this is happening in china on a massive scale. This company is massive in its debt. It is massive in. Its reach in china over two hundred eighty cities over thirteen hundred projects millions of people but with a debt load of over one hundred billion dollars in over three hundred billion dollars liabilities and a whole lot of people who pay down payments on homes yet to be built and they're not gonna get their money back and they're all in china who are they gonna blame. They will blame for the company and they will blame. I the ceo but they will start to blame the government regulators. You let it happen. She general her chairman. She president she. He's going to have to find someone to scapegoat so then come back to him. But then there will be ripple effects into this economy as the chinese economy slows down. Our economy inevitably will slow down. And what happens when our economy begins to slow down again which companies in our economy that were propped up by the government moral hazard created which was start to crumble and then will the government go back in and try to those companies again. I i don't know the answer..

"I mean you can. There's a lot of people being well. Lapd get investigate themselves. And they're not gonna find any wrongdoing at the very least like they're giving the impression of you know some sort of accountability. Yeah god thank you. Well thank you for doing the investigation to like actually spur any kind of action on this but the like baldness of the transactional nature between ring and the cops is like. It's truly shocking to me that it would be that it would be that blatant. Let's return to the point of You know a black and brown folks and other marginalized communities being affected by this. I mean the i. I've seen it again at my own in my own community like a couple months there was a whole series of of events. That happened on my street. Which is that in my little complex. One of my neighbors was like. Hey i saw kind of a weird guy on my porch and there was there a person of color and he didn't do anything he was just like kind of being weird kind of radic on the porch. We live in the city. There's une house folks around there's fo- you know there's there's there's los angeles you know what i mean. Yeah and. I was like this looks. Looks like no cause for concern. I hope somebody. I hope this guy gets in hell right. And then like half an hour later we hear helicopters around and it turns out that a bunch of cops roll up. Pull out their guns on this guy like a bunch of cops all at once helicopters the whole nine yards and then i think someone further down the street had like seen him on their ring doorbell and called the cops and then there's multiple people on the street filming the whole thing on citizen and this was just the guy walking around with a stick. You know like nothing actually happened on the street. Nobody's house broken into it and try to jump a fence. He was just like being weird on the street. And this is on my street and like all this was spurred by people sitting inside their houses looking at these cameras jumping to conclusions having fear based reactions but fear based reactions that were like given to them by the technology. Yeah no for sure. I mean i think like it's it's kind of wild. Took look at the history of ring and and use it as sort of like a mirror like where society has gone because the started as purely a convenience thing right lake jamie seven off. The ceo of ring on shark tank was like i was always working in my garage. I couldn't see who was on my front door. So i made this doorbell and also it actually helps me like watch my packages right but it was like purely like convenience and then they made this like really really sharp turn into crime And like made this immediate. All about how you can like you know. Protect your community. Protect your own home. And and i yeah. I think capitalized on you. Know a growing fear of.

"Are disproportionately targeted by law enforcement and surveillance systems And understanding how those two things kind of interact right like all off like ring neighborhood watch period without technology has historically criminalized black and brown people there are people who will see a black person or a brown person walking down the street and immediately either immediately assume or thinking. Maybe i'll keep an eye on them just in case they do something you know half of the videos that you see of people posting ring doorbells on next door are literally just someone saying. I saw a black person in my neighborhood. I mean this is. We'd have a whole other episode about next door and their problems with this issue. But like i've seen those posts myself. I've seen my neighbors post such things It's very if you have your eyes open. You see it happen. Yeah and so the thing with this partnership with with and lapd and other police departments is not only. Are you going to say. i'm married. Oh from a small town in minnesota. And i see a black person in my neighborhood and i'm like you know what that person looked suspicious. I don't know i've never seen them before now. The police have direct access. Like you have a very easy way of saying. Hey this person's suspicious and then the police might then go after this person or keep an eye on this person after literally doing nothing right. They're literally being criminalised and watched and surveilled simply because they looked suspicious on the basis of their. You know suspicious ness as being black or brown And so you know it's it. You're adding basically like convenience. Right the way attacked democratize everything and and it makes everything more convenient it also has made targeting vulnerable groups much much more convenient. Yeah wow i just want to return again to the point that you made because i asked you a question that you're like i just gotta make this point about the police and i want to emphasize it. The fact that the the company for i think we all know intuitively that using fear to sell a product is wrong. you see one of those commercials. That has a little old lady saying. I want my family to be saddled with my funeral expenses. When i die so i bought this. Rip off life. Insurance like oh. This is exploiting an old person's fear of being a burden. We don't like this kind of ad. We have revulsion against that kind of thing. So first of all ring of vat lake. Just a very loudly has been selling their products using that but then to employ you know public servants who are in a position of privilege and power over the issue of of public safety and crime that are in a prime position to exploit people's fear is yes deeply unethical and really really.

"I've always been concerned about it so tell me what is the issue that you are covering with ring doorbells. Yes so. This was an issue specific to the lapd but to be clear it's happening at police departments across the country But basically ring was trying to get a bigger foothold in l. a. And they also wanted to prove that they were ineffective crime fighting tool so they work directly with p and they gave valley. Pd at least one hundred officers free ring doorbells or they have you know these other cameras that they have and solar panels for those cameras and they would give these devices to them which at the time retailed for two hundred dollars a pop and then or coupon codes discounts for these devices and then they would encourage them or ask them to promote ring to not to other officers in their station but at other officers and other stations neighborhood watch associations community members So they basically at the end of the day we're trying to get officers to kind of lend their credibility to this claim that like you know our ring device will help stop burglaries or theft And yeah i mean at least fifteen i we got ahold of Three thousand or so emails between the lapd and ring And so fifteen is like a very conservative number but you know in terms of being able to definitively say these officers after receiving a ring device promoted ring to other people. There are a little over fifteen people who you know in their email said. Oh i did this. And so at least fifteen officers did promote rang after receiving a free device more than one hundred though received free ring devices which in and of itself could run afoul of lapd roles yummy. My first question was going to be. Is this in any way legal to give. I mean just a private company giving away free stuff. Too expensive electronics or discounts. Which are you know not quite cash equivalent but are getting closer to it in exchange for like six okay..

All Mics are Hot Mic! Oops!

"There's a rule in radio and really it applies the anywhere you might run into microphone. It's going to be a television studio a music recording studio. You need to assume that. All microphones are on a very similar to how you walk down the street in your neighborhood. You gotta assume that there's some paranoid guy with the ring doorbell. Who is taping every single person that walks down the street probably putting it on something like next door. A saw somebody suspicious walking down my street. You've got to assume that now. Because all mike's hot all doorbells are made by ring. Have a camera that is on this from the associated press ten career as an. Nhl referee is over after his voice was picked up by tv. Discovery of pipe bombs in Washington, DC obscured by riot at Capitol

"The people who were there at the Capitol last week who participated in these riots. They sort of have made it easy on investigators because they were so over open on social media. They really were open about it on social media. They took photos and videos of themselves posted them online. Some of the rioters, though, have been harder to I D. But investigators are getting help. As of last night, the FBI had received 70,000 tips from the public to help investigators identify and track down these folks. Um I under stand that investigators are also trying to figure out if there was an actual organization of some kind behind the attack. What can you tell us there? It's right in, officials say it's gonna take time. Weeks. If not months to T O figure that out one of the keys to unlocking that question may lie in the two pipe bombs that were planted the day of the insurrection. They were found outside the Republican National Committee in the Democratic National Committee headquarters, which are both on Capitol Hill near the capital. Those bombs didn't go off, so they haven't received a ton of attention since last week, I talked to Chris Swecker. He's a former head of the FBI's criminal division. And he said those bombs suggests someone at least had done some planning. Concern eyes that this person took the time to run how to build pipe bombs built the pipe bombs after buying all the materials. Then transported them to the scene. You know the capital so that that's certainly indication of pre planning on on that person's part. The challenge for the FBI, Swecker said, is going to be to build out from there, whether that individual was working in tandem with others and how it's connected if it's connected at all to the violence that happened at the Capitol. How do they go about doing that? Well, first would be identifying who planted those bombs. The FBI has put out a grainy photo of a suspect. The individual is wearing a gray hoodie, a white mask black pants on black and white shoes. The FBI actually released new photos of the suspect shoes and backpack last night. They think the shoes maybe special edition and could help identify the individual. Now FBI agents have been canvassing the neighborhood on Capitol Hill, where these two bombs were found, asking residents for say, footage from the ring doorbells. Or businesses for CCTV footage. The devices themselves, I'm told are still being analyzed at the FBI lab, and those could yield a lot of information for investigators, according to former FBI agent Dave Gomez. There are signature aspects to bomb building type of case type of device. The timer and all those components are evidence. There is nothing better. Or investigator than to find an intact device. Invested. Investigators can pull fingerprints say from those devices. They can trace back the materials to where they were purchased. And all of that can help lead to the culprit. And of

"The with kevin mason copeland nineteen has definitely changed the way we're all shopping. Shopping online really isn't an option. It's a necessity because so many people are afraid to go in stores and be honest with you. It's just hard to go shopping in a regular store. These days a lot of people always used online shopping sources as a way to compare and contrast they go online and look for the information and tried to go into a store and buy the actual object but of course not as easy this year there. Too many people who are paid for their opinions to determine what's best. We're finally going to get a ring doorbell camera. But i got to figure out which one i want to buy but finding the right one for me is the key you think that was easy. I couldn't just go to the ring website. And compare the four versions. They've got because they don't want you to look at the older one. That's still available. They want you to only by the hot new fresh expensive one so i had to go online and find other sources finally found the camera. I'm going to buy but it wasn't easy comparison shopping. There's gotta be a better solution. We'll find out when. Kobe defends itself out. What happens in the real world right now. Trying to comparison shopping online still not an easy chore.

What is Amazon Sidewalk?

"I'm of two minds on this thing. This is something amazon has now Introduced is pushing out to Many of the amazon a gizmos and gadgets in your house like the amazon echo in the ring stuff the ring doorbell and the red cameras and it's a really interesting Idea amazon says amazon sidewalk is a new way to stay connected. Here's the issue. Your y fighting really go passed the house by too much. But wouldn't it be cool if somehow we could put a network not to sell network but a network around neighborhoods. So that for instance if your dog had a tag on it It would see the tag and be able to locate your dog somewhere in the neighborhood. That'd be kind of cool or I'm sure there's some other use for. I'm thinking i can think of some ways Amazon wanna use it. So what they're doing is they're putting a little radio it turns out it's always been there in their devices using technology we call bluetooth low energy. Be ellie it's a nine hundred megahertz Radio so it goes through walls because it actually would go pretty well even selling some stuff designed. I think more to get the network outside than anything else like a mailbox sensor you have one of those rural route mailboxes. We do not mail slot in the door. But it's out you know in the At the end of the driveway you can put the sensor on it. And then you get a little chime on your phone when when the mailbox opened. Oh you've got mail so you know but at the same time when you do that you may realize that rural route mailbox down though driveways it might be too far from the house to get wi fi all but if you had this kind of low grade network low power network all over the neighborhood it would work. That's amazon sidewalk. You can get motion alerts from you security cameras. Even if your wi fi goes down you wouldn't get enough bandwith probably to get video. But you'd least know there was something going on maybe get an image still image You're smart lights at the end of the driveway. Might still be smart pets. Valuables lighting amazon calls the devices that support this. It's called a mesh network because it kind of passes it along as long as one of these devices can see another of these devices that can pass along. The connectivity is very low bandwidth but it does use your network ultimately because at some point one of those devices has to be connected to your home. Wifi amazon says. Oh doesn't use much bandwidth just a little bit. No more than five hundred megabytes months. No more than that it's low bandwith. it's just. It's just so i could see. The convenience in this privacy advocates and people were just incensed by the idea that amazon would without really asking borrow their network are upset. There's a privacy concern. You know and of course amazon get some other benefits. Because i think the real reason is is their trucks. Delivery vehicles are driving around maybe even packages at some point You could pinpoint them within this sidewalk network that if all goes well and it could very well because a lot of people have amazon echos in their houses ring video. Doorbells ring cameras. If it all goes according to plan we can have. This amazon owned low power network. All over all over And you know with great benefit for amazon. I think the probably the real reason amazon is Is they'd know where the delivery trucks are right. I mean they actually really. Let's think about it they. Ups and fedex already have trackers in the trucks. They know exactly where it truck in fact you probably got that text. Your packages nine stops away. Your packages eight stops away. That's because they know exactly where it is so maybe this isn't something of great value. Maybe something you could put in a package though you don't want that's expensive these bluetooth devices. These radios they need power. So you have to put battery and now you're not going to build into a package. Amazon has a white paper on privacy and security and they do a lot of the things one would expect. Honestly if privacy concerns you. This is not a big issue. Compared to the fact that you've got an amazon powered camera and microphone all over the place right and then i'll go straight back to amazon. So this isn't this. I mean this is just a little low power transmitter. There's some there's some value to it. I'm not people are upset about it though. I'm just curious how you feel bad. Because i i don't know you can disable it and maybe this is what is upsetting to people is. It's on by default. it's it's on Automatically right now On your devices so the way you turn this off. You actually have to do something. And it's not that easy. You go into the amazon app. The al that trigger anybody's device. You know the a lax af on your iphone your ipad or your android device half that right and As long as it's the latest version when you click the allen lower right hand corner. There's those lines say more. That's what they hide the stuff they don't really think you're ever going to want to see under more. You'll see see more and more. You'll see settings and then under settings how many clicks are we. Now you'll see account settings who's counting. Are you counting these. Let's see one two three under account settings you'll see amazon sidewalk. That's four clicks. Here you'll find. In some cases. Something says coming soon amazon sidewalk. And it'll describe in a kind of glowing way amazon. Sidewalk is a shared network. That helps devices work better. Sidewalk can help your compatible devices. Automatically connect or reconnect router it can also extend coverage for sidewalk enabled devices such as ring smart lights and pet. An object trackers. Which so far. I don't think amazon selling but maybe at some point they will so they can stay connected and continue to work longer over longer. Distances sidewalk uses a small portion of a small portion of your internet bandwidth to provide these services to you. And your neighbors. Because you're a good neighbor then at the very bottom. What is it five. Six to disable. It doesn't say disable it just says amazon sidewalk. Then there's little switch and then you can turn it off that's how you turn it off. That is not on. it's on by default. You if you have. A sidewalk enabled device. It's on by default.

In order to be useful to people it needs its roots certificate to be trusted by a wide variety of operating systems and browsers however it can take years for the oh s.'s and browsers to accept the new root certificate and even longer for people to upgrade their devices to the newer versions that include that change the common solution. Amazon's new Ring camera is actually a flying drone -- for inside your home

"Amazon had a big announcement this week. Crazy stuff. Crazy stuff including sensor. So this is this is a complicated story, but there's something technology they're gonNA call sidewalk. which basically put sensors all over your neighborhood. They realized that well, you know you have a doorbell or. You know your your mailbox to might be distant from your Wi. Fi may not be able to get a connection. So what if we spent set up? A low bandwidth network for Internet of things. That goes spans the neighborhood and your neighbors if they have. Amazon stuff. Will support it. It's nine hundred megahertz. So that goes a long long way. Amazon says as much as half a mile. There's a little sensor you could put on your mailbox say. You've got mail. That'd be funny if it said that you've got mail. and you're smart lights and your garage door opener and your and your doorbell, and all that stuff can be on that network. They also say will work with trackers like tile. Because Do. We really wants Amazon have sensors all over the. What that's crazy. But that's not the craziest thing they announced. It's not even close. They a few a month or two ago. They announced a wristband that will analyze your voice and let you know if you're angry. Maybe at the end of the day, you know you, you had some really angry conversations. Okay. Okay they say don't we're not sending your voice back to the Home Office is just analyze it on your in your band. Well okay. I don't I believe that. But. That's not the craziest thing. Even ounce. Probably. The craziest thing they announced is a security camera. That's a drone inside your house. Maybe forty seen the the videos of it. It's just a little base unit looks just like kind of an Amazon. ECHO says, ring on Amazon bought the Ring Doorbell Guy. Says Ring on it. And It's two hundred, fifty bucks available next year. And I don't think flies around your house when your home it could but the idea would be you're not home. Intruder, alert intruder alert and the and the the base thing goes zoo drone comes up out of the base. and. Flies around your house looking for the intruder. They've worked on. This. For two years. They said it's an obvious product that's very hard to build. As, is it an obvious product? It doesn't. You don't have to fly it. It just flies by itself avoids windows. Drapes S- couches, dogs. v You could say where it can go and what path takes they don't go in the bedroom. But So when you first get it, you, you build a map for this drone. It says, okay. Tell me where you'd like me to go to look around. It can be commanded to fly on demand. So guests, it could fly when your home if you WanNa see what the kids are up to. Uh Mom. Kids are GonNA start throwing things at not get off, take it back at the drone out of my room. or it can be programmed to fly. When a disturbances detected by the ring alarm system. When the cameras in the charging basic can't see anything the camera the. Records only when its in flight and and rings says, the drone makes an audible noise when flying of course, it does and you've heard drones or noisy. So, it's not going to sneak up on anybody. So you could use it. They said, well, how many times have you? Left the House and said, did I leave the stove on? If you ever done that I've done. That have you ever turned back to check. I don't remember if I've done that but I wouldn't be surprised not how you can just have the drone look. Is the dog. Okay sleeping. It can it can check to see I don't know if you close the garage door I guess. It will avoid objects in its past the propellers are. Shielded. So you know they they can't hurt anybody if should fly into you. I don't know I. THINK WE WANNA. Battle drone. In case of troopers come in I think it should have shocked probes, buzzsaws, projectiles should you know let's put a gun in the thing? How you like it? The ring. Always Home Cam. That's the weirdest thing Amazon announced. Yeah Wow We think we're living in the future. This is doesn't life feel a little bit like a science fiction novel now? Like maybe it's just me. I feel like You know when I started doing this show way back when in the nineties it was like Oh. Yeah. Yeah. You can. You can have a spreadsheet and do your. Business. Documents. Now, it's like you've got a killer drone in house. Well, it's not a killer yet yet. A. Crazy world we live.

Blinds Controlled by Alexa?

"Comes from Willie a from the Facebook page the group if you'd like to join that group, by the way, go to a l e x a in Canada Community now Willie asks, you've always got two questions one is he's looking for a really good strong and secure home security system that works with Lexie and part two is he's looking for a blinds automation system that can be activated via Lexi. So I've got two products. These aren't the only ones for sure, but I got a recommendation for you Willy and for anybody else that's looking for similar products. As far as the home security goes the system that is going to be most integrated with life is going to be something that comes from Amazon. And as you may know Amazon purchased ring a little while back and they actually have a ring alarm system and you can choose different systems so you can get it off. As a 14 piece kit. So it comes with lots of sensors all the way down to a five-piece kit. You can get a doorbell kit. So it includes the ring doorbell lots of different kits. So, that would be one recommendation. As I said, there are some other ones as well, but not something that you can look at you can also choose it's optional to have 24/7 professional monitoring and then they charge you $15 a month for that if that's something that you want to look at. So there's that and then as far as the blinds go one of the less-expensive options that seems to be getting recently good news is the system from Ikea and so if you're going to be looking at the Ikea blinds, then you're going to need two things. You're going to need the The Hub basically what they call the boss. Here we go is my pronunciation of these Ikea pieces of Hardware The Dread free. It's about tradfri Gateway and that's on sale for twenty years. Dollars and that's basically the Hub of that allows you to then control the smart products that Ikea makes and you're going to control them through an app or through Lexi and then the actual blinds are in the office don't know how you pronounce s furter line f y r t u r and they come in different sizes, of

What to expect from Amazon's 2020 Alexa bonanza

"Amazon's annual Alexa launch event is coming up on Thursday. And if it's anything like past years, it's going to be a busy day. I'm Ben Fox Ruben, and this is your daily charge. Joining me today is David priests, who covers all things Alexa here at CNN, Aman how's it? GOIN'. Doing. All right. How are you? Doing. Okay. So what are you really hoping to see tomorrow? What's what's your expectation from? Let's let's start with the echo up. Yes, sure. So, last year I mean this is an interesting year because last year you had sort of a shotgun blast of Alexa devices that we were kind of expecting to see you know we we thought we saw the echo show five come out during the summer we knew that they were going to be some speakers and displays that we're going to be rounding out their product lines. This year is not really the same. We already have you know multiple generations of displays and speakers. We already have the kind of baby bear Mama, bear, Papa Bear version of the display and the speaker. So everyone unconfined that just right device for them. So you know as far as displays speakers go don't think that we're going to see any huge revamps or huge surprises in terms of those devices what what we might see is. you know some added Polish or added features like we got with the echo dot with Kwok last year where they took an existing device and kind of added a convenient feature on top of it. Yeah one of the one of the few that they didn't update last year if I remember correctly was the echo spot, which is which is looking a little stale at this point. The thing is is that you could argue that the echo show the newer echo shows kind of replaced at. the other thing that you didn't mention where some of the mobile elements for cow so that Includes the. Auto. Hardware that Gizmo that you put in your car in addition to some of the weirdoes stuff like the glasses and earn ring like an actual ring you put on your finger and usually they they tend to have these types of oddball items whether it's a wall clock or microwave or ring so I would also expect to see some of those. Just they really loved like throwing Spaghetti on the wall I would I would share I are and one thing that's always interesting about them to. As you know, Amazon is really willing to you both abandoned device that's just not working. You know I remember testing out the original tap, which was you know Kinda got left behind. And that very well could happen with the echo loop or something like that from last year. That's the ring. Yeah. But also if if there's a product that they sort of throw out there and does stick to the wall, they're very willing to kind of lean into that and so if they're you know if they think the frames are doing really well, we could see some expansion of those products you know. So they're not just sort of limited release it sort of expands and gets a little bit more wide reach in their release or even new versions of them. Yeah. I'm kind of excited to see what they do. It's always it's always exciting and there's some surprises there. So do you think that the I've written versions of the story? In various times over the years do you think the lineup has gotten way too confusing like you talked about the tap, they actually discontinued the tap but like now they have like a very long list of echo items and some of them are really niche like the echo glow which I think is like a night light. So. So is it time for them to like shrink it down and kind of focus or you know they're just to keep doing what they've been doing, which is you know, let's throw out as many products as we can think off so. You know I think that there definitely is reason for them to focus their core lineup and I think they've done that with speakers and devices. And in a couple of other categories this while the. Euro. Stuff like that. So they have routers and they have the ring doorbells. So they have those core devices with with each of those properties and they have slightly different branding for some of them. But those those core lineups don't really get damaged or you know muddled by the addition of a bunch of extra things that they're trying out like echo auto and the frames and. you know the glow and things like that. So I think it's I. think that they have actually done a pretty good job of distinguishing between their core lineup devices that they're definitely going to be trying to get everybody to get during the holiday season and the ones that they're just sort of putting out there to see if there's interest if they want to expand it if people would buy if they put it out there.

New Blink Cameras on Sale

"Today I wanna, tell you about a new product that Amazon is launching that. Of course works with Lexi. If you're listening to the flash briefing yesterday, we talked a little bit about the deal on the ring doorbell. Now, here is the new product they are announcing that they are pre releasing or at least you're able to pre order right now, the new blink cameras. So what are the blink cameras? Well, there is an indoor version, an outdoor version, and they allow you to keep an eye on what's going on either inside or outside your home. Just, you know the pricing of these one camera for the indoor camera is ninety, nine, ninety nine, and if you buy more than one at a time, you get a discount. So you have those options and then when it comes to the outdoor version, the outdoor versions are a one, twenty, nine, ninety, nine for one, and again, if you get a two camera kit goes up but you get a discount on buying multiple cameras at a time. So pretty cool. They allow you to control the the camera with an APSE. You can see different areas of your home where you have it set up you can also choose to a gray out certain areas. If you haven't that you want to keep private the outer version obviously is rainproof or weather resistant. So that's really good and the battery life is rated at approximately two years. So that's pretty good as well. They are high resolution cameras ten eighty P. And of course, they work with Lexi. So for example, if you've got one set up in your living room and you're out and you wonder what's going on in your living room you can just lexi Hey Alexia. What is happening living room and similar commands of course for outside Cetera. So there you go. If you want to use my link, you just go to Al.. In Canada dot ca slash blink and if you want to specify which one you can either say blink indoor or blink outdoor and that will take you directly to those pages.

I got an ad at the bottom of skype now and I pay I pay for the service in the problem is there's so many a lot of these applications like you're listening to the Amazon show and tell the The Alexa show and tell we're can identify the product. These are very these fantastic developments. I I wish I could use them. I love having the ability to use voice to have things turn on and off and its handy for many things but because of the business model you've rendered it useless for people have a brain. It's too bad because a lot of this stuff is really cool technology and I like it but no you cannot use it because this and this is I mean if people actually knew this that what Amazon is doing they. They probably think twice. And you're putting these things in your kid's bedroom anyway live the Otiji lifestyle everybody give your kid a megaphone megaphone or something if he needs some. Doan G. O. T. G. it's very OJI Otiji. Exactly that's all I got for that for the segment for now. Okay main things just need to get those out. Otherwise they pass by and no talks about it and then. Oh yeah no actually. I do have an une housed clip very proud of what's going on in Austin. You'll recall that the governor of Texas Abbott got into into a a twitter war. A tweet up with the mayor of Austin was his name again. Anyway the Adler about the you know the the house. 'cause I'm not going to say they're poor homeless people there griffin as many of them that aggressive window Washer squeegee dudes. It's not just people who don't have a house or a home in fact Abbott repurpose a lot. Not far from we are in Southeast Austin. I have not. I'm going to go again and try and find that it couldn't find it the first time which would be for the house to go and that something magical has happened. They've started to build a little community. This once mostly Empty Lot in East Austin has become home to more than one hundred people without another place to go. We're give everybody a chance. We don't do that. You have cats once referred to as camp at it. Because the governor opened the state on land to the homeless Population People. Here are now calling it something else cam. Frat responsible adult tradition town or the homeless run by the like every town. Camp rat now has its own list of leaders while we have the nation and volunteer recruiters. We have a maintenance engine Labor recruiters. We have the web designer. We have the web the media outreach. We have security. And then we have a charter size donation organization Cory Roberts. The secretary schedules town meetings each week. The seven person committee nominated by those at the camp has held two of those so far. It's important because we actually have voice. We actually have a hand that we are actually putting forth to actually make our lives a little bit better. Changing the perception of the homeless community is important to those living at the camp because we wanted to show people that were not just criminals drug addicts slobs off the street that we actually just anybody else's comedic without house right now. The committee is focused on finding food donations. So they don't always have to rely on provided maris providing hot showers instead of the makeshift stalls and water hose. They're currently using organizing events to help out others in the Greater Austin community and maybe most importantly giving newcomers a point of contact so they don't feel alone w lead Martha laws leave you alone for being under a bridge. Come out here it's safe. There's not really anywhere out here. We're all big family count. I really liked this development and I'm going to go over that I'm going to bring food. This is this shows that the can work when you allow people to build be a part of a community and build a community give them some basic blocks to do that which is literally all they got and saw. There are some protection. I think they do have Police you know making sure that things will get out of hand but they're creating their own community and I think this is great and Avella get started in Brazil. I'm not saying we won't have that but at least it's a community and they're trying to do something else other than you know. We got the two tens of millions of dollars being spent on bullcrap. The does nothing. Give the tens of millions of dollars in direct payments to these guys that would probably help possibly but That is not everybody in that group. Five thousand bucks each table. That's how it works should reparations. E said reparations for being homeless sorry affiliates. "You'll have options to like they'll be more than one dude with. The one on one guys doing a comedy bit. Content. Like, some of them are just like, I don't know people need instructions, but some of them are doing content, and it's funny. Fuck like, the I had to do the same thing when I got a ring doorbell because I'm I'm so mechanically fucking challenged. It's not even funny, and you know, there's like forty thousand options for different ring doorbell videos. You can watch on YouTube, and like which one of these people looks the most like they would know what they're talking about to me range. It's a lineup on the century picking from and then watch a couple of videos and go from there, and it's just it's amazing anything you need on the internet. But specifically, I mean YouTube and those instructional videos my mind, it makes you wonder what is the next major thing that ten years from now, we could've imagined life without it. What's it gonna be? I know what do you think it is? Because I mean, clearly everybody's question. They were fine. You know, like they all made it without the internet. They all made. I mean life might have been change our wheel. Before their figured it out. You know, ten years ago, you wouldn't have been able to watch video for it. But you could have found the instruction manual of how to set up your Sonos system online. If you lost it, you could found a PDF of it. That would have been good, maybe. But before that, let's step from like the step up from finding the online stuff to some bozo showing me exactly how to do. It is. I can rewind and go back and forth. It's amazing. It's an absolute game changer AJ. Well, what I think about just go off the whole technology bit like as a college student. I think about what it was like before we even had computers and you had a right? Like a thousand word essay, there's like no computer you have to do research written. Yeah. You have to handwrite it all go to the library million go through books. You had you wrote your notes, then you hand wrote the fucking essay. Yeah. Then your hand fell off and you had to go buy new hand sounds like a nightmare. It's crazy. We. We we complain about so much and yet we have to do so little compared to. Generations past. I it's it's, you know, I'm part of the problem too. It's just funny as fuck to me and thank God for these instructional video makers because life is hard enough for if I figure these things out on my own they wouldn't get done. So I need you guys to key angles to keep doing thing. Keep whatever that is. The light bulb goes off in your head. That says, you know, what fucking I need to make a YouTube instructional video this keep doing it. All right next segment. All right. So now, we have with us back for the second time the other Ross Ross Tucker, my man, how are you? Ross. I am doing fantastic. And I will never quite get used to that. You know, calling somebody else Ross and saying, hey, what's up Ross? But at least you're a cool Ross based on your Twitter in our previous conversations, both on your podcast, and when you came on the Ross Tucker football podcast, unlike the dude from friends that we talked about last time that we that's kind of our bond bond of Ross's everywhere. I was just oh, you know, what I took my daughters to a pizza place, and like friends was up on the screen, and they were looking at it. So I had to explain to them. Right. Why why we don't like that guy? Either. Right. Yeah. You can't have your kids growing up thinking. That's okay. To be that Ross. No. I mean, it just really really disappointing. So that's okay. You and I'll just day by day by day overcome that. And it's like we're like Tom Brady Ross even though even though we've already accomplished a lot. We still have a chip on our shoulder. No matter what. And that's that's one of our chips. Exactly. So for those who didn't hear the first time Ross was on our show. He's a former American NFL offense lineman. He's sports broadcaster. Now, he played it. In at Ivy league it prints Princeton. He was a lineman seven seasons in the NFL..

"KTAR news on ninety two three FM. Get some perspective. Bruce St James and Pamela Hughes. I have a ring video doorbell. That's not an endorsement or a commercial. That's literally what I have. And on my phone like when we're here on sometimes like my phone. I'll get a little thing goes you have motion door, and I can click on it. And there's like there's usually somebody from Amazon dropping a package off our landscaper's blow in the dirt around moving it from one side of my yard to the other side. But. I get the little the notification that somebody's at the front door, which I like, even when I'm in the house. I look on the video I do not go downstairs and opened the front door because I'm not a psychopath for Christ sakes. I look at the video and go. Yeah. I have no intention of answering that, but what would you do if you're ring video doorbell was assaulted and I do say assaulted early Saturday morning. This man who police now identify is Roberto Daniel Arroyo spent about three hours licking and milling around this Salinas yard, the homeowners were out of town at the time, but their kids were home. They didn't wake up to the noise. But the families surveillance system notifies them when there's movement out front. Does he this guy? The guy is this Thirty-three-year-old. Roberta. Spends three hours. Licking the ring doorbell. So what? And I don't know what it says about me. That's the part that stood out to me. I guess I had to pick something in the sentence. It struck me as odd licking a ring video doorbell. I guess I'm okay with three hours. I have a problem. Listen, okay. The ring video doorbell your odd who except for three hours. The videos are just. Here's the weird thing. Apparently this family. Yeah. In Salinas, California, only in California. You would have thought this was Florida. Really? Yeah. They have a ring video doorbell that gives you the the video of people ringing doorbells. But they have another camera facing the doorbell because the. You're seeing the video you're seeing is not from the ring video doorbell or else. You would just be seeing a Tom. Well, let see can you imagine being here at work. Offerpad, look at it. I know somebody doorbell licking my doorbell. Boy, there's a lot of traffic five o'clock in the morning. My son does it get home until six o'clock. So that's kind of odd. So I started reviewing the videos. Kazaa? That's the homeowner. She and her husband were out of town. But the kids were home. Early twenty probably got the little things are out of town, and they go. Hey somebody's at the front. What the hell is going on at our front door and laughed about it afterwards. Because technically do harm anybody's the homeowners. Did do something wiping off the doorbell. Oh..
