Just like what you spent spent like four hours five hours with us while he's cutting something else you know what i mean and i'm like wow. He's just incredibly supportive and loves films so much it. it's it's in. It's yeah it's i feel very blessed to have cross past stephen kind of him supporting my career. Pretty good guardian angel to have so looking ahead We mentioned terminal lists. You're pretty something with your buddy. I think dakota right to johnston human beings We've been friends since we were fifteen and you know. We both started acting the same year. I think we went on. Our additions are very first editions. I think months apart. I think we booked our very first movies like a month apart or something and so it was always like a no brainer. Essentially we're gonna find something together to do and so we're developing this tv. Show that i'm so excited about it. The more the more. I just love working with people i love. You know. it's all about in the end. Yeah she's one of my favorite human beings Sees know her dark twisted sense of humor that she would you rather With you ever. Because i had her on my comedy central nervous. Everything i've done. Would you rather sorry. I never have i ever would you rather because i so i played a game. Would you rather with her. And she was like one. I had a bunch of. Would you rather questions. And she threw about ten at me. One of which vast every guest on my show since i'm going to pose it to you because it's she asked me would you rather have a mouthful of bees or one be in your but oh my gosh the coda one being my but are you kidding. Yeah no that's the right answer. Say think you know you're you're correct. Correct that is the objective. Correct down okay. And then finally okay. So what we mentioned mad max. I'm just curious again. Just going back to childhood have be interested in fantasy genre and stuff again. I'm surprised you haven't end up in the pop culture that has dominated by superheroes and sci fi and fantasy like what's going on. Are you pursuing. That stuff is there. Is there one of those properties that really speaks to you today. i absolutely would win Do that would Venture into the superhero world. I it for me. It's just it's timing it's it. Is this what. I wanna do right now. It's always kind of spiritual thing. It's something in me that i want to explore. And if the rate you know role ended up coming to me. I absolutely would do that. i think you know it's i've played a lot of you know i think in the in the beginning of my career. I definitely got sort of put in this very extreme art house you know box and i and i love arts gnomes. Of course i. I love al-shams i love. I love broad comedy. I love you know harry potter. You know but. I definitely i think from the exterior world. Have this sort of art house thing where you know people. Can't you know i don't know. I think people assume that. I kind of only would ever want to do cans films or something but i i you know i. I definitely don't feel that way. We're putting it out into the universe. Okay she's open to everything because yeah it's it's I mean. I love talking to someone. Who's work i admire. But also someone who who's obviously a just loves what they do and is a sinophile themselves so glad zoa gave us an excuse to connect in this way on. Congratulations on it. "Approach what you do while i always i. I always had this instinct. That i could do it. You know i. I felt this thing in me that i felt like i could transform myself and i you know i remember looking at myself in the mirror when i was little or you know. Just these weird looking back on these moments. Where if i was crying. And i was upset i would kind of analyze it and be like what is this you know. Goes you know looking at yourself in the mirror crying And just and really really interested in human emotion really interested in people really interested in nuances of people. The way they move their head the way they move their hands like little things. I still am. I'm obsessed with it like i. just you know. So that was. That was where my love for acting came. I think i was obsessed with people and obsessed with. I still am like. I film everything i feel. Everybody i find. I'm in love with like human beings you know and so i think that's just evolved as i've gotten and You know i. I yeah it does strike me that like four an actor like in your age bracket and especially for female actors. Not a lot of them are like you in that like you seem to go after really transformative performances It's is it do resit. Does that resonate when you get a script and you see like oh. This is an opportunity to really kind of like push myself in a in a different way. Absolutely and i really love Doing things that are are challenging. I love completely transforming myself. I i the combination of the challenge and then being able to just feel like a different person is the most fun for me know i. I love that challenge. I love you know and making it authentic not making it silly not making it you know a character a caricature of somebody. You know So that combination. I love and that's what i loved about. Sola is i think they'd like i always loved characters you know i loved fantasy growing up like that like that was something i like the the you know i i mean. I think we're gonna talk about this but like fantasy and and and saifi that those were the things that i actually like loved watching people playing these weird bizarre creatures and the way that human being could totally transform into like a witch or you know what i mean like harry potter. Was everything to me like. That was like you know if i could have had the career my dream career. I would have been in like all the harry. Potter's you know like i. I love and the actual performance. And i love and i also love nuanced performance. I love trying to combine. the two is like ultimate. we are speaking my language. I mean like. I feel like for instance like gary oldman dracula is like my favorite performance. Like ever like unbelievable but yes okay you give me the perfect segue because in the last year especially when we've needed comfort have been asking votes comfort movies and you you kinda cheated a little bit riley. 'cause you with a whole franchise but maybe i'll down. But you went with harry potter which no surprise. It's a comfort movie series for many many people Let's just i tell me like. Did you encounter harry potter. Through the books i or through the movies. What was the. How did you become obsessed. So i was in school in the first book came out and i think i was around the same age as harry and so that was of course like this. You know exciting thing. I got to go up with harry potter and the first film came out and i was in oregon with my dad on a road trip and it was in this little theater in this little town in oregon and it was raining and it was like there were. It was if felt like we were in at hogwarts there. Were these like you know amazing. Greenery intrudes everywhere in this sort of small old town. He took me to see the first film. And i just like. I don't know i i think it was the right age and the right time and i just was such a fan and i i read all the books and i i love love the films and i you know. I always loved magic. I loved the idea of opening up our minds to you know more than the reality. We live in and so so wisconsin favorites favorite character. Oh my gosh. This is so hard. I they won't be offended once you don't mention it's okay. I know i love serious lack. Of course you know how could you not. I love bella. Tricks i were. I love her. Minding i love. Oh my gosh Who else. I love luna. I loved her father. I love you ever dress up as any of the harry potter congress for did really dressed up. I didn't dress out. Have you been sorted. I've been sorted. I was in Griffin door once. And i was in slithering once i think i gem and i've got two sides to you and i can totally see how the hat would get confused with insular. They're enor- perfect or have you. Have you been to wizard world. Have you seen curse child or yeah. I've been to visiting world. Haven't seen chris child i. I went to the To the sets in england which is amazing but also it's money like as an actor actress. You.

"With the very talented riley riley keough welcome to the happy second fused on cast at long last. I'm so happy to be here. Are you in the middle of a working. Obviously not literally at this moment but are you terminal listing. that's my best guess. I am terminal listing. I'm zola pressing listing. This in time. I feel like i'm doing early. Press for terminal west. 'cause i just did constance on the podcast a couple of weeks ago and talking to the monster. That is chris pratt in a couple of days so If we wanted we can just start the press tour early on that one Chris pratt might be the most annoyingly Good human being on the planet. Have you enjoyed your time. Thus far with him. I really have. He's incredible he's he's one of the nicest people i've ever met in. It's so inspiring. Truly no do you want to rattle him. I i've i've a gift for you. If you wanna try to like throw him off his game okay. So try so next time you see him. Maybe he's divulge bulge issue. But i don't. He says he's told us many. Call him christo or have you ever considered going by christo. Back story is apparently when he worked at the bubba gump shrimp company before he hit it. Big he Seriously considered going by cristo and that was on his name tag and it. It amuses me to no end that we almost had christo as the science so i wonder where that came. I will ask him. I but let me know how it goes. Because i want you to. I want you to have the upper hand. Will i will do it So congratulations on zola. We're gonna get into that. We obviously have some time so we can talk about just a great many things but First off again. It's good to talk to you at length today. Because i've only talked to these kind of brief kind of weird circumstances. Most recently i saw you at the mtv movie. Intangible words which was surreal for me. How was that night for you. It was very surreal and very cool. I you know there's something very. It's a childhood dream to be on. You know the mtv movie awards mtv music awards it's iga grow up watching it so it was It was my first time at the mtv movie awards and so it was definitely a sort of ethic moment. Our our you generally with those sorts of events The award show the big press events the premier's that your wheelhouse or do you feel like it takes a lot to get you into the into the zone for those kinds of things. I do my best. I think it's you know Mtv it really depends on what it is you know like. Mtv there's it's it's spun it's it's not you don't take yourself too seriously you know it's not the oscars you can't not mess up you know there's not as much pressure So i think i definitely would be more nervous if it was something that was more serious or you know like some very When you're gonna remove just film critics or you know those kind of. I don't know what you're talking about the movie and tv awards. The most prestigious are there other more precision shows. I don't know what you're even talking about right now. I love it. I myself at mtv totally totally What about general comfort levels. I mean i'm such a fan of your work in all the stuff you popped in mostly in the last decade and like you know you seem like an actor that's willing to go for broke. That's not not shy about sort of like taking big chances. Do you feel like most yourself or most comfortable on a set or in front of a camera. It seems like you for whatever reason when the the light turns on. You're able to go to places that maybe you're not able to otherwise absolutely. I think that that's the sort of The the thing you keep going back for is that. I feel the most comfortable the most of the lease limitations and most free when performing. And i think that's how you know that that sort of you're saying I of course there's moments him nervous and you know All of that. I i don't i never you know i get nervous more with Par- probably like public speaking that kind of thing. I when it's me when it's riley go you know like but in terms of acting Is made it so liberating so freeing so fun like you know being a child playing in your backyard like that kind of feeling right now. It's funny you say that. Because like when i was even like an i wanted to talk to you on the podcast for a bit and just finding the head of the right film and the right project But like when. I went back to kind of look at you know other conversations you've done like i can't find much that you've done like long form like solo chats. Is that something that has taken you kind of a while and even now. Hopefully you're not nervous right now but like is it feel like it's it took you a while to kind of to get comfortable with the side of the of the job you know. I love like intimate conversation. I love that. I love when when you're able to connect and have a real authentic conversation A lot of the time. When you're doing press you have like three minutes and it's now or questions and you don't really have a moment to connect and you know i've definitely new kind of end up learning how to do that and i appreciate all of it you know i really appreciate the whole the whole The whole thing. And i think that gratitude makes you know even the moments of press when you're like okay. Another one and another one another one. I think you can try and stop and be present and be thankful that the reason we're doing press our movies people are excited about it and it's this beautiful piece in the world's gonna launch it and i'm.

"He warned us decades ago. If you are going to create generational poverty, you have to make it really hard for low skilled workers to get a job. If you can't learn skills, you're never going to get a job. If you don't have a job, you can't learn skills. It's kind of a circular loop of poverty. If you have no education. Because you've been subjected to a terrible public school. You know, I said this morning on my podcast. We are really great at productivity of producing one thing sadly in the United States, and that's crap public schools. We have been excellent at it, and it's something we shouldn't be good at. We produce more crap public schools than just about any other o E. C D country. You know, I read an op ed piece by Jason Riley in the Wall Street Journal awhile ago years ago. And I'm pretty sure the data here's accurate still, that there are 20,000 public schools or public high schools in the country. Just 2000 of them are responsible for producing half the dropout. If you're black, you have a 50% chance of sending your kid to one of those schools. Think about that for a minute. 50% chance of sending your kid to one of these dropout factories. If you happen to be black and American, we accept that. Why? Why do we do that? Why do we accept that Because Democrats are on those cities. And they're compassionate. How compassionate is that teaching kids how to fail. And then when they failed, not letting them get a job because you said, a minimum wage so high they don't have the requisite skills that they can produce that kind of value for a company. So they never get a job because, as it's been set off in the real minimum wage is 00. That's nothing because you don't have a job. Third part of the stool, of course, is welfare. You have to pay people not to work because our new motto is Get your ass to work. The Democrats model. His work is

State and Local Republican Parties Are Turning Ever More Toward Trump
"January six dr day history of the united states cap president trump is spoken many times since we left office. And i don't know if we'll ever see. But i will always be proud of what we accomplish for the american people over the last four years in new hampshire this week downplaying his differences with president trump Over the course of their partnership president trump of course returned to the stage last night as well with that speech in north carolina. Talk about it on our roundtable. We've got rahm emanuel donna. Brazile wall street journal columnist jason ryan riley a senior fellow at the manhattan institute and author of new book. Maverick a biography of thomas sowell and former libertarian member of congress justin amash and carson let me begin with you. The new york times is an interesting analysis of president trump this where they call them diminished but dominating at the same time of course. He had to give up basically his blog this week. He's still has a hold on the republican party. You serve with a lot of republican members of congress. How do you explain it. What republicans do about it well over the last couple years. I've really seen it. Take off. When i first got to congress. I could see this nationalist sort of starting to swell and by about two thousand fifteen. It took hold of the republican party in in a pretty big way at first members of congress when donald trump took office were doubtful about him. They would make fun of them in private. They'd criticize him They'd insult him. Even i thought they going too far and i was a big critic of donald trump and i couldn't believe some of the things that were said about him and then around two or three years ago around the beginning of twenty nine or so. I saw people really start to shift and the party really became donald trump's party completely and that's going to be the way it is over the next few years. I don't think. I don't think we're going back to a different kind of republican party.

"My notebook years ago and go back and look forward and find out that it is actually a good material for that commission interesting. How do you choose which one that you're going. Bring to life. Mike related make that your current focus For the present thing that you're working on well most of them most of it you know. It's ones that i affect me. The most strongly idea. I work with right away. It is like a matter of choice. gotta do something this is working on. So it's kinda like they choose me you definitely in. That's one of the challenging problems. I would think of making music. It's something i experienced. You know just being creative in an age where they're so much information and input and things are really collapsed down to being almost treated more like disposable content as opposed to pieces even films or books. Things can really grow and mature It makes it. I think more difficult to spend a lot of time on an idea. And then also just commit to an idea because there's so much coming through your your consciousness can kind of be filtering. Just all of the static of those the warring of the modern world and being able to hold onto that thing that seems to fit into life yet. Life in kind of culture is changing so quickly it can make it hard to keep hanging onto that amidst the cyclone of the landscape through which your living or i think the answer to this is something that is really obvious it you you have to have you have to do. Your artists daily practice. You have to engage all the time so major nut so much affected by external changes are going on in the world to be technology or even things that are going on in terms of your social life or whatever that your daily practice of music is the guy anchor that helps you examined That you have over and over again. And i had this reinforced for me. When i started studying north in classical music. Nineteen seventy with founded ans-. India musicians are So focused in there practicing. They use start amendments they become such master musicians early ages and when i started working with him i had practice ragged every day. It was like do the first practice from the morning from the time you get up in the morning and it's something Ragas are set to times of day. It's something you think of all day long the so it was kind of gave me a way of working that i was doing before intensified it and gave it a kind of a traditional framework. Yeah that's really interesting. So the actual process of creativity in creation becomes a devotional practice. That is the thing that's your writing on throughout your life. Kind of the shifting and changing of the day yeah. It's tradition of raga kind of collided with my chaotic waste. Working you know as a kind of self almost self taught musician. I had some good teachers but always wanted to do things. My own way so I had these two things going on in my life. One wind be totally free and spontaneous in the other trying to work in a tradition and It was interesting balancing act which continues in my life today. Because i basically feel like we draw inspiration out of the chaos and we have to surrender to this cast and let our let our tells be just taken into Ideas that don't make sense at all. You don't understand at all with trust the if you work with him that something will happen. Often is ideas are ordinary. They just something that musical ideas like royer boulder. Something kind of conic. Seems you can go. You can take these ideas very deep if you start exploring with them so to me that's that's kind of like in the process that i've worked with when tradition the other letting myself be swept along in the chaos. Yeah going over the falls. Yeah yeah that's really interesting so you'll take basically sometimes consider something that might seem simpler basic and just work with a long time until it's true. Nature is revealed or it doesn't need to be worked with sometimes. It just comes tonight. Trust that that simple idea is enough to review my attention. That's a that's really impressive. You know because. I think that it's so easy to be dissuaded by something. That doesn't kind of wow you for you know you get an idea and say oh. That's cool in an enthusiasm. It can wear off pretty quickly and then you're left with the reality of the idea you know instead of kind of artistic excitement of having thought of something But then being able to sort of keep working with that and just trusting the process. That's a really beautiful approach Imagine would keep one from getting frustrated in just kind of blessing to ideas and never really getting anything done now..
"riley " Discussed on The Astral Hustle with Cory Allen
"Friends what's going on wealth hustle. I'm cory allen you are you and here we are together so today's podcast i. I can't really even begin to tell you how excited and i am about it now. Meaningful is to me. It was literally five years in the making of right as i started. Podcast ish. I reached out to the guests today. Who's terry riley. And i asked him to come on the show and he did not the time at that point in time we stayed in touch and check back in over the years in a long last time was right and this conversation was able to manifest for those of you. Don't know who terry riley is. He's an american composer and performer. That was a pioneer in the minimalist school of music. Along with philip glass. Lamont young and steve reich terry quite literally invented a whole new form of music and through his experimentation with different effects in composition styles literally changed the face of music worldwide his influence on music in the effects no pun intended. He's had You have definitely heard but have probably not realized that they've come from his own creativity and experimentation. I have since. I was very young. But a huge fan of terry riley's music Particularly his experimental nature and really the four godfathers of minimalist music. in general. i mean. I played a piece of glass at my father whenever i was twenty. I mean that's how much i like. These guys work But terry's work as a really special place my heart while being wildly inventive and unparalleled in its originality. It is also deeply spiritual and connected to the thing you know the sources steep within us all and he really put that on display Like no one else and all of his work and he has done that. you know. it's amazing these been doing it since the nineteen sixties which was probably before a lot of your parents or even born in. He is still doing it today. In this conversation. I intentionally did not do the kind of by album piece by piece type of conversation because terriers eighty five years old. And he's been talking about his work for the last probably forty five years in this way. I felt that's a well worn area. So what we do get into. We begin by talking about his music. and then we go into beautiful discussions on creativity and reflecting a lot of his personal experience over the years. And i got a lot out of this conversation. I have to say that. There's a lot of things particularly on writing music and how to approach music talks about that. Blew my mind that i've been thinking about ever since turns out. If you talk to a master you'll learn to since we didn't really go deep into any of his albums on this. If you aren't familiar with his music. I highly recommend checking out a rainbow in curved air sri camel songs for the ten voices of the two prophets An untitled oregon the gift and nc of course as starting places they're all completely amazing and If you inspired. I also recommend checking out some youtube videos of him playing in the sri kimmel period. They're really trippy. Because he it shows you how he invented tape delay using the time lag accumulator so mixture and go find a watch that i've watched those videos over and over and over and they never get old. They're just amazing. It was a great honor of my entire podcasting career. Anti-Diet Isn't Anti-Health: Unpacking What 'Healthy' Means to You and Your Body
"What does health mean because a healthy lifestyle is not a plate full of vegetables period right. There's so much more to it than boiled chicken like staff anymore broccoli riley life. You really should be eating a very diverse array of foods. Right which i know is not always possible for a lot of people. This shit's tough so curiosity goggles on. And i think like. I think the first thing really is to define for yourself. What healthy feels like what healthy looks like what does it. What like what's the goal that were moving towards right now and if it's weight loss why what do you think losing weight will do for you get specific about it right because there are times in our lives where maybe we don't feel as energetic or as strong as we want to be or maybe like we're just were burning the candle at both ends and we're not paying close attention to what our bodies asking for and we're really just eating to get by and we don't feel great. That's not about weight loss. It's just about being a little bit more mindful about the fact that you don't feel great right and then you can make changes because you want to feel strong and you want to feel energetic and you wanna feel good right Wanna feel satisfied I think all of us have been through through times. Where like maybe we just like eight anything everything and at the end of it we even though we had all the things that we love. We didn't feel satisfied. We just kind of felt like like. Oh my god you know like you almost feel like hung over. You know you don't feel great. You had a lot of fun. There's no regrets but like you listen to your body and you have something else you know. Nothing it's not like you need to like detox right. You have these beautiful little little things. I'd your body. that does its job. Ever the kid raise your body takes care of you. Yes if you take care of it and that doesn't mean boiled chicken boiled broccoli

Yeah he always as we had him on the morecambe thinking 'cause and he's talked about this with taste on the show how he wants his two girls. He's gonna make a phenomenal. Father has said girl death like he's he just his demeanor he there's just something about him and and i i wanted to tell him this alleged and want it to seem like it's donna compliment because it is but he's just not like t. v. it's refreshing and he went on and was like. Yeah i'm just going to give this a shot. I might not be the most outspoken loud crazy dramatic in your face type of man. Yeah but he overall. I think he was like the steadiness that i think any bachelorette i could've used on a season. Yeah i wish he would have gone farther. I think there. I won't name names. But i like him more some of the men that are left for sure and i think he could really good and challenged patia and also be like that rock for her and as using that calming force for her ladies. He's single so. Make sure you know you you slide up those dm's or maybe we'll see him on. The beaches of paradise are making the bachelor. I don't want him to see if he's on paradise. Allow me to see a side of muscle that i did not expect You know to be able to reach a especially as such a short period of time. It was just a few months on by minister. We always joke about this. That like you. It really gets therapeutic too. You're you're always in itn's and you're talking about your feelings. You're just in a way that you never have before and it's really is a beautiful thing and in the show is and you got all these feelings. And who do. I talk to your friends at home. Don't understand you're like like let's just talk about it. A lot of people get into relationships after the show because they're just so open and ready to like talk about how they feel. The you'll see it you'll start seeing it happen with the men and i may say it's very it's it's obviously difficult and very uncomfortable. At first i don't think anyone's us to opening up that quickly to a partner let alone olive olive america. If you will. But but i will say this. It will only set you up for success. Success saving boards. You'll only you up for success for future relationships wherever that may be it on your own walking down the street or in paradise who knows but riley. We have one more question. But it's been such a pleasure to watch you into have you on an end to just pick your brain a little bit more to get a whole new of riley that that america should should be listening to so before you had a. We asked all of our guests this. What was your rose and thorn of the season so be. It may actually be the fact that i was able to open up an express myself Was she allowed me to develop You know strong enough connection with her and she made me feel comfortable enough to open up until the things. You know. talk together You're the partners in c- in a before. I got off the phone with him. He goes but hey for you go. Can you send me A head shot. I want to show it to my daughter. She loves his show. And i'm like all right. It's probably a good chance that you know they'll let me go on me go wooded in every day or every episode. You know airs. I get emails and texts from so last son. He's going to ask for signed headshot. Now that's why did you watch the show before coming on. Or how did you get started in it. So i didn't watch the show right What happened was i was recommended on our friend of mine who saw me in courtrooms flow. She saw me in court And i just happened to be implant closed day. Because i didn't have to do anything i was just like picking up something from the courthouse. And she's like oh you should be on the show. I look at her. I'm like shut up like you know like I'm serious like like a picture. Like sign you up all this stuff so she signed me up for the show and before you know it i got somebody you know. One of the producers reached out to me and the rest is history I didn't make that the first casting. I guess but in after kobe you gotta check out some begin. Hey you're still entering might hell. Yeah those do it still need to. I'm still saying great addition to the show like you. You were one of my favorites and we a bachelor happy of who built us. You're one of our favorites. And i i mean if you weren't with a hip riley cut i like you riley on a very partial to two attorneys obviously partial. Black letter thing is you were about your business on the show and i think a lot of the guys were but i don't know i felt like you weren't nothing was an act with you. You were very much so yourself you all. You got along with the men in the house but you were also very serious about pursuing tayshia and it. I thought you were like really intense and then was like you know no. He's focused on his relationship with russia. So go ahead go ahead. I was gonna say i was gonna say i'm just i'm about my business. I like to keep your real And i knew coming in a situation like time is of the essence on mike. Hi let me kind of get to the point All it is other nonsense you know. People want to go back and forth in argue about you. Know petty bullshit drama was like you know. Say for the next person. Let me just get a narrow limitation when she came in after.

"Welcome back basser. Happy our listeners off. We had becca an interesting episode last night. Dare i say i. I'll give an interesting. Because i i personally feel cheater. I don't know about you so cheated because have the episode was a regular episode and half the episode was mental If i want to watch two hours of anything it's mental And we didn't get that did not it's like i'm par with everything else this season. In this year it was cut short. A was choppy. I do like the fact though. One thing i did like about menthol is that there was less men when it was like the really like standout man that we've seen from this season it felt very very much like a real housewives reunion and of course we love real housewives so i appreciated that fat but yet i wanted to get into it a lot more. And they're just. I say choppy. I felt like we would get into a conversation or the drama and it would hit it to something else and then pivot and it was kind of all over the place you know. I think we should just get into it. We are of course gonna have one of our favorites from the season who we did see have an amazing presence mental that is riley so we're going to have him on later today and we'll get the tea from him will pick his brain on all things from the season from the switcheroo from mental delicious. Get into it from the beginning because like you said. It was only half of a regular. When chris harrison walked in with the holidays coming up. I'm sure most of us are spending a bit more time in the kitchen. Maybe whipping up some new recipes decorating cookies or particularly in my personal favorite holiday pastime drinking red wine and since i'm the queen of spills herself and should probably already have a trophy for stain removal. It's important to always have clean on hand. Oxy clean versatile stain remover is the go-to product for tough stains on laundry and almost any other surface in your home. There are more than one hundred and one ways to use it and gets all of those tough stains red wine to coffee to makeup inc dirt and more trust me..
"riley " Discussed on Yeah, But Still
"Hey Everybody Jack here and probably most of you already know what I'm about to say but I have some very unfortunate. Tragic News. On Monday night, we lost Riley Gail singer of the band power trip also friend of the show, and in fact, listener of the show to he's been on here three times I've considered him a good friend and I don't know I everybody knows Riley is completely shocked and I don't think anybody. I'm we're all devastated I got the news. Man I got the news Tuesday and dislike immediately. Absolutely broke down has just bawling crying. And didn't Stop Dude I didn't stop crying until I went to bed. I was just crying. which is crazy because I mean I've lost I've lost people before I've lost friends family. In fact, this is not even isn't the first guest of the show that we've lost. This isn't even the second guest is just crazy But. Riley is hit me particularly hard. I think a lot of people feel the same way so. I wanted to do an episode for Riley Specifically this is This is the Patriot episode that I recorded with him. While ago at its most of a Patriot episode, I took some parts out there just weren't really relevant or it's just me talking I kind of just wanted to let Riley tells him stories the full episodes on there, but I wanted to put this out on the main feed for many reasons And if you haven't heard of before episode, one, fifty, four Riley joined us and told US would I consider be one of the best stories to ever be on the spot gas? It's about Really. And some friends pretending to be Jewish so that they could sneak onto a birthright trip to Israel when they were young to get a free vacation and not only that. But just all the antics that ensued it sounds fake this definitely did happen. In fact, I, really would love to talk to the guys. That he went on this trip with I've been trying to find pictures from it. I only found one so far but maybe I'll be able to follow that later but Riley, you know he knew so many people and he had so many stories It's crazy. I. I just wanted to I WANNA put out this episode and I want to talk about Riley a little bit I promise I won't turn this into personal therapy session even though I, may be do need that this week but yeah, I just wanted to I. wanted to talk about Riley because I think a lot of you guys knew him from the show. There's probably a lot of fans of power trip who listen to this and in Riley literally listen to this show So I to do it I just wanted to pay respects in my own way that I that I can. Finally Riley listen to you, but still he would text me after every episode. In fact, he was aggressively trying to get a certain guest certain dream guests onto the show making very serious prod progress with that. In fact, our last conversations were about that. He sent me this person's phone number nothing has happened with it. Yet I don't know if it ever will You might even guess the person is I'm not GonNa say what is I'm not gonNA put on blast But Riley has was tirelessly working on this for no reason I did not ask him to he That's just how he was. he was just trying to help. He was going to gain nothing from it and. He was just like that and since he's passed and people have come out with these stories about him, I've realized he was like that for so many people. All over the world, I've been completely shocked at the range of people coming out and You know talking about Riley a he is met he was a friend to so many people and I think his girlfriend said it best that he treated everybody like his best friend and he really did in fact If you're a fan of power trip I guarantee you. He cared just as much about you as he did about me or anybody he knows, I mean, he really he treated everybody like an equal and He was he was willing to help you and the people he cared about No matter what he would help you even if you asked him not to help you which has happened multiple times with me on small scales like something like He. You know like you ask something kind of like passively and you realize it's like going to be too hard for the person to make it happen he he and he just. Insists insistences that what he was like. And I mean, he had such an effect on the world I've I've I'm still completely devastated days later I don't know if I'll ever really get over this. And I think there's a lot of people that feel. The same way worse He just he was a connector that left alone a giant giant hole and Not, to mention the whole, he leaves in music I loved power trip they are probably one of my favorite bands Would I especially liked about them is that they were I mean. I grew up listening to metal and hardcore and PUNK It was really really important to me. Growing up.

"The racism is getting worse. It's just getting filmed. Gaza! and. It took people seeing black pain in black death in us being traumatized by going I. Accidentally saw what happened to Ahmad Robbery. Santa's I'm like what is. This would've caught him. It was on my my time. Line I clicked on and I was like what is going on. What is struck doing like? You know and in my mind when I saw them fighting, I couldn't now at this point. I couldn't stop watching. And then I just see him. Get Shot, and you know what the worst part is. I thought that the man that was recording, it was recording. In defense of Ahmad Aubrey. He got in his car and blocked him in. So, he was also charged. So like I. Think that that was. You know what I'm saying is like lead Oh. At least somebody you know went in. No, you recorded that Shit for sport. Not Protection! So bad idea. That it's getting better with time that there's progress. There is no progress until it is recognized by our president. There is no progress into recognized by our leaders in government. or to the same sentiment the fact that We Discount People's ages. Yeah, we discount like the little girl, the girl that was telling her parents off Oh. You're young. You don't know anything. I, I hate that We feel as though whether you're young, black person or a young white person or whoever I feel like a lot of times whatever they're saying. It's discounted because of their age. Oh you don't know what you're talking about. You like like Guy said Oh. RACISM IS GONNA die out when all the old people die out like. You learn that black president. Yeah can I ask you? What are some shows that you feel like capture the black experience and authentic truthful way that people should watch. I always be I. Love a different world. Old Go old and I'm an old soul. I feel as though I was having an argument the other day about this I feel as though eight explains the full gammit at least made, because it's my age group, but the full gamut of what it's like to have to Ha- be an educated person because we're not all just thugs. We're not all out like for the most we're not. We're just out here trying to live our lives so having to even in a black college setting experienced racism I, those great I also personally love blackish and grown ish. I feel like they touch on a lot of stuff, and they do it in a way that's palatable, so it's not directly in your face, but like a lot of because Oh and ours was to be the same age a lot of what Zoe's gone through I I personally have gone through it. I personally have gone through exactly what amber was saying because I? Speak properly or eloquently I've had teachers. Look at me twice and be like. Oh! This. This one's different I. Hate that sentence. This one's different. The amount of times I've heard that. It's. The first time I'd the teachers added. Tomato was in third grade. Eight. And to hear a teacher go. Oh, you're different this one this one so automatically. The entire rest of my raises bad but me. I'm fine because I grew up around white people. I'm texting your mom right now. Oh. Proudest Book Right now. I can't even. I can't even talk you like if you ever need. A Gen Z. corresponded this right here. This, is it also like? Yeah, I think it's important to know your limitations. It I don't love and bidding I have limitations. Just you know some things that. I don't know how I can understand unless we give you the microphone unless we you make a documentary unless you make a TV show, you know sort of like you can't stop. Educate every person. You don't have that kind of time, so we just need to figure out a way to like and I like. This is making steps in like we appreciate it because it's like some of us have voices and we know what we want to say, but we don't know exactly how to save them Or if it's right for us to say them. Because like I said people discount because of your age, or because of what you've experienced or where you've grown up, so it's like. Where am I supposed to say what I have to say or like? Where do I? Fit into the puzzle because you see the numbers and the people in the Kendricks out here like okay, see that, but that's not my path like. How do I figure out where I fit into the whole? Hodgepodge Ivy your point is right like I. Even have had to learn like. I can't educate everyone 'cause. My stance has always been paid maybe. Listen. I'm not against. My. My thought process has always been. I was fortunate enough to be put around people that instilled in me from a very young age. Your Voice Matters? And you have a responsibility and they always tell me not. Everybody's bad. Some dealers on educated. Thank you which is the thing that I always tried to? I was trying to come at from like 'cause like amber, I almost teacher, so I taught fifth and sixth grade so I get not everybody. He doesn't click for everybody all at the same time, so like for me. There's people are like. Why are you still talking to them? Why are you trying to help them? You've been talking to for four days now and I'm like okay, but I think I'm almost getting to the clicking point, but I also realize like I can't. I can't run into the I'm low, and now because I've spent so much time trying to explain it to you the next person that asked me I'm GonNa snap on them. Because I'm tired dre. Well I could I could I can't ask you for any more. Thank you for inviting me. I really appreciate you like personally reaching out to me that a lot it was. I was so nervous to reach out. Refer to you because I was just like I do not want fucking. Make her do what she's doing enough. But a lot of people listen this. I feel bad yeah. Yeah, they do. Racking in. Oh yes. Anything else you WANNA. Yeah! I just WanNa talk about a mutiny again in just encourage you know every single black creative in the entertainment space to use that Hash.
