"For Eagles wide receiver to Sean Jackson, who apologized for a Siri's of anti Semitic instagram posts over last weekend. Jackson has tried to. It certainly seems like make amends and learn from his mistakes, but he absolutely is still embroiled in some controversy in Philadelphia, and no one knows the Eagles better than our guy, ESPN. Sal Paolantonio who joins us now on the shell, Pennzoil Performance line, Sal Pal over doing well, my friend. During these uncertain times. This's to Sean Jackson's second stint in Philadelphia. I'm sure you know him pretty well. Was he ever someone that up until this point was known to say anything or post anything offensive that that that people found out about over the years? No, not to my knowledge. He is a very popular player with within the team and in this city for sure. We're very well like very charitable. There's a lot in the community. And well, like in the locker room. You know, That's the reason why general manager Howie Roseman brought him back from Washington at such a late stage in his career. They thought that he had plenty left as a player. But more important, you know, he is really Somebody that's beloved in Philadelphia. So Sal because of this is a big spotlight on him now because of the comments that were made and others against them. Some that are backing him was that say for his future and filled out for you? Well, you know, it's pretty clear from the statement from the Philadelphia Eagles and from the show on Jackson That he has accepted his punishment. They've come to AA meeting of the minds about what transpired. And he's obviously apologized to the ownership into the team. And now going forward. Hey, has to do the right thing. The Eagles expect him to the much more learned about Jewish culture and Jewish history. Get out into the community speak to Jewish leaders. Perhaps go to the Holocaust Museum. With Julian Edelman. He already spoke with a Holocaust survivor yesterday. Be a zoom. So you know, he's got to do and say the right thing. You know, it's it's important to know that dynamics here not off. Not only is Sean Jackson, you know? Ah, well like Member of the team in the community. But this doesn't really happen and was Jeffrey Lurie is the owner. You know, Geoffrey has shown That he has a really good hearted. A guy, a guy with a good soul who believes in second chances we got to do is ask Michael Vick. And Riley Cooper, who of course, was caught on camera using a racial slur. Seven years ago, Cooper was sent home for four days for sensitivity training, but he wasn't suspended and he was signed to an extension. Later by the team. So, you know, Glory. And those men are both very forgiving Men. They want to make sure that, however, that Sean Jackson Going forward, says the right things but also does the right thing and owns up to the mistake that he made. A great point You make Sal about Riley Cooper Talk with Sal Paolantonio from ESPN. Here on Dickerson and Hood on ESPN radio. You mentioned that during the piece that ran on SportsCenter as well. I don't seem to remember much after the initial fallout from Riley Cooper. I mean that that pretty much you said he signed an extension. And that pretty much went away, didn't it? Well, I don't know whether went away in the minds of a lot of players, African American players. For sure, it's hard to know. None of them really spoke publicly about it. You know Chip Kelly was the head coach of the team as soon as the Peterson became coast with team Riley Cooper was no longer on the team. So, you know, I think if I don't I'm not going to engage in any kind of moral equivalency about either of these two incidences. But I think it just speaks mainly. To the forgiving nature of this owner, and he wants to make sure he has a measured response to things he's not going to act. You know? From the hip. I'm not going back to rationally. His very thoughtful guy. He had a very long conversation with Sean Jackson. On Tuesday for an hour in the late afternoon. And I was told that he was obviously very upset by what Jackson posted. Glory, of course, is Jewish. And Is very close to the Jewish community in Philadelphia. You know they had a really tough, honest conversation. Jackson, I'm told was contrite. He was humble. It was extremely apologetic. And so they're all trying to move forward from this. That's that's where they are, you know. Jackson's got a lot to prove not only Off the field. But on the field this year, 33 years old this most of last year due to an injury. They want. They want him to be a productive member of this football team going forward, both as a person and as a player. Style jumping in our conversation that Jeff and I had earlier regarding college football. We're talking about reading that the Big 10 Pac 12 they've decided to just go to just conference play. On get rid of the nonconference part of the schedule just to be in the area of their conference. Is there any word that you've heard or any contingency plans from the NFL's Faras? They're scheduling for the regular season while covert 19 is happening. Well, you know, this is a very active negotiation going on between the NFL Players Association at NFL. There are a number of issues that they are still discussing before training camps even woke up. About in the Garden protocol. Daily testing versus testing that happens on a baby and every three day period. The players were on acclamation period. That was phase in players physically because there wasn't much of an offseason program. The players, according to some reports. Don't want any preseason. The NFL wants to preseason games. You know, the NFL makes a lot of money off preseason because they don't have to pay players game checks. That's That's that's a windfall of cash for them, and they don't want to give up those two all four preseason games. They may have to, however, uh, there's there's one of those shoes about that economics that are unresolved. The NFL wants a certain amount of the Playerssalaries put into escrow. And you've seen some of the comments that have players have made it said. Hey, listen, uh I'm gonna be on the front lines here. I should be getting a pay raise, not a cut in pay. Uh, so There are a lot of unresolved issues before we only got what is today. Today is 11. Yeah. Yeah, So we're talking like in two weekends. Players are going to start showing up. To their facilities to get ready for the start of training camp, and they've got a lot of unresolved issues. I mean, normally sell. Well, We have that scheduled already a month ago. We know the practices. We know everything. The preseason game. I mean, and now we're walking to this thing almost blind, and I know that this is a very fluid subject, and we live in a time of complete uncertainty, but just based on the people you talked to around the NFL, Are you still optimistic that that football will be played sort of as normal this fall in the NFL? No, I don't. I'm never in the prediction business. I don't want to stay optimistic or not optimistic. I think there are unresolved issues. But there are really smart people involved in the negotiations from both sides. Amaro Smith is a very smart advocate for his players. Troy Vincent. Former player former Philadelphia Eagle known very well.

"Not even the Arizona Games. We're going to start that day, going back on the calendar. To the 12th of March. And then the next day. Obviously, everything got shut down. But here we are on the final weekend with no team sports because next Saturday night, you will have Yankees and Mets. In exhibition baseball Now on top of the fact that I do the Yankees in Spanish for those of you that don't know I am also The Spanish language voice of as fate would have it. The Philadelphia Eagles so yes, Ladies and gentlemen, I am well aware of the personalities involved in this holder Sean Jackson situation. There are many layers to this and we're going to get into this in depth. Ah, from soup to nuts on this whole situation, because you you you have to take it back. With this organisation, which has been involved in some of these controversial, you know, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and what I mean by that is they have really gotten into some sticky situations with Michael Vick. Remember the signing of Michael Vick? When Andy Reid was still the head coach that caused a lot of controversy, but give credit to Eagle's ownership that they have been open minded and many were against it. And many to this day we're still against Giving AH guy like Michael Vick in of another opportunity, they put stipulations into Ah into his deal on Michael Vick lived up to everything that the organisation needed him to do on and off the field. So Uh, Vic. His story ended up pretty positively. Since then, we have had another wide receiver Riley Cooper, which a few years ago was at a Kenny Chesney concert. Those that don't know the story. He was in a Kenny Chesney concert at the stadium at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The story says that he got a little you know, inebriated. Shall we say one, too many adult beverages and started using in a threatening manner, the n word to the security guards. So the Eagles At that time. Many called for the release of Riley Cooper. They didn't They actually extending his contract. Uh, but they did send him to counseling. On DH really did work on that side of of Riley Cooper's psyche at the time, but didn't release the player so now when people call for the release release of the show on Jackson You've got to look back at the history of how this organization has dealt with these type of issues. They didn't cut Riley Cooper so many SAIDs hypocritical if they would have cut to Sean Jackson, especially Since he has apologized, although many say the apology was a little hollow, and that he is now going through that same thing that Wilmore less that Cooper did, making a man's to the Jewish community. Julian Edelman. Ah, the wide receiver for the New England Patriots, who happens to be Jewish has gotten involved in it has invited to Sean Jackson to go to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D. C. There's another great Jewish Museum in downtown center City, Philadelphia in Old City, Philadelphia, actually, and Sean has gone there. But now you have these new layers, especially yesterday with Malcolm Jenkins, making some comments that have kind of thrown gas on the fire, so we will delve into that in depth We're gonna have Ahh Marcus Hayes was one of the best columnist from The Philadelphia Inquirer. We will join us at 12 noon. Were they very in depth take on this entire story, and we'll break it down into into detail and try to clear whatever Miss information's out there the penalty for the show on Jackson From the team. From what I understand it. All my sources is that it's a fine There is no suspension. As of now, now he's got things he has to do it live up to And that could change. But as of right now, the penalty for the anti Semitic rant on social media which is a whole another story the way social media has become just a dark place, and I don't mean that, you know, facetiously. Wei will get into all of that. And what exactly The fine was will do that at high noon. 11 o'clock this morning. Uh, am B s America's most beloved sports writer. Our buddy Kevin Kernan, moved. Most. Most of you remember from the Post is now with Ball nine. We'll take a look at everything happening around baseball. Buster Posey of the Giants opting out yesterday. Uh, he's got good reasons for that, with some premature babies that he's adopting On doesn't want to be a risk the health of their family, his family with wife and the baby's already have a couple of twins. So a very good reason for Buster Posey opting out. We will delve in everything with baseball with him at 11. But first up right here to this bubble Like I just mentioned I couldn't penetrate it. But Brian Lewis of the Post maybe he can, so we'll take a look at what's happening with the Brooklyn Nets. And the MBA. That'll Ah, kick us off on the Saturday morning. I'm in for Evan Roberts, Ricky Ricardo on the fan in New York. Look, people are ready for hair that luck.

"Back to the ranch. Let's talk about the Sean Jackson. We have a situation as they say. He? INSTAGRAM's out I. Guess Posts and by the way I just started instagram. You want to check me out Andrew Brandt to still trying to get Andrew Brandt. I know I'm getting a losing monogamy with twitter I know but people tell me I gotta get on Instagram. Speaking instagram to Sean Jackson puts it out. It is a quote about Hitler about from Farrakhan. It's obviously NFL towards Jews. It's something that you read, and you say Oh my God. He's basically calling out Jewish people in a very dramatic way and. You know first of all. Desha Jackson is not twenty four years almost thirty four years always thirty three years old. There's not a lot of excuses for that He knows who Hitler is. He knows that Farrakhan has been an anti Semite. This is something that just doesn't seem where he can sort of. Apologize it away and say now we're GonNa Learn Your GonNa. Learn that's great. But this is This is more than. I think other people saying things that they are totally ignorant about. You know, it's hard to be ignorant about the word Hitler I, just think. It's Horn what he did. It's vile and. Now, we get to the eagles. What are they gonNA do well. You know usually this time of year. Offices are getting those calls from unrecognizable numbers like what the player do now. We're getting ready for camp. This is different. You've got our Jewish general manager in Howie Roseman. You've got Jewish owner. Jeffrey Lurie. we've got a problem, so he is as of this moment still on the team I think that bodes well for many. He hasn't been cut yet. They can go all the way from termination to doing nothing I. think it'll be somewhere in between. I know a lot of people. Are GonNa? Call for termination. And I understand it. For the Eagles, they've got a precedent and for them. It's a bad one. Under chip Kelly, they'd rather cooper. They had no other receivers. Jerem macklin got hurt. Riley Cooper said the N. word. It was caught on tape what they do. They sent him home. A couple of days got training. They needed a receiver. Let's be real name and they took him back. And yes, there was something about Michael Vick taken up for him but John. Jackson was on that team, and obviously it affected him. Now is a problem. And now the problem is coming to bite them because I'm sure to sound. Jackson is raising that or is agent..

"Was their thanks knows. He said. He got a contract extension. I know, but nothing I thought, okay the way with all this tension in the air, and I know in the middle of all that is if he sensed it in his canine soul flash just came over and put a seat man's best blanket. Bend at once again strikes Do it again. I feel you, man. I really do. I I'm such a dog lover too. And I kind of live vicariously through through vicariously through you as a dog owner, a multiple dog owner, But like every day like I appreciate these flash updates are really flat. Listeners have told me that and having him coming over right now, Just as if he knew too, You know things were getting totally my old man is getting a little uptight. I consent survives like incense. The tension let me go down and get a little wet nose, you know, Hey, does give me the wet nose too, And when I think I'm done He drives his wet nose into my elbow, saying I'm not done. No, no, no, I need some more. You get me back when you start digging a snout. I like that when I used the snout for leverage now have a wet forearm because I put my farm on my lap and he drove his nose back into my yes. So, by the way, Riley Cooper did get find He got fine. I thought so. OK? Yeah. There you go. Thank you. Number two sports stories. The Giants baseball. That's what I bumped the Giants from 1 to 2. What was the first time? The first time in a couple of weeks? Yeah, well, I thought they number one was a little bigger. Giants had some news on Wednesday. They return to the field. Billy Hamilton and picture Harlan Garcia were noted to be absent. And Gabe Kapler's said he had nothing to add to that meaning. It's possible they tested positive the current vice, but we don't know it's it's up to the individual to release that information. Brandon Bill showed up in a walking boot for a heel injury and will not be evaluated the next 5 to 7 days each. John's going to buy a pair of exhibition games July 20 and 21 against the A's before two weeks from today, the Dodger Stadium debut and then another guy who skipped yesterday was Buster Posey..

"So. I think at the end of the day. After all that rhetoric after all that talk after all that wasted time. Me Ranting and raving today on coast to coast. And tonight on ferrallonthebench here in the first hour going after to Sean Jackson for his stupid comment. I I think I'd Kratz is right. You cannot let Riley Cooper stay on team. And then some some redneck I don't know what he is. Then he go to like some country concert and start Robbin Moms, and then and then, and then cut the black receiver, right? seriously. I. What do you think are just I? Guess you just can't do it but I think you're gonNA find out tomorrow. I think that's an excellent point. But they can't just do nothing, can they? Can they? Absolutely I cannot even believe that the uproar is frankly is as light as it is a be honest, because in my opinion like. If this were a advocate, American situation, it would be the rioting in the streets. There'd be a violence. Looting fires rock-throwing. Protests cars being kicked and stomped and windows smashed. Flipped over vehicles, cop cars, cops being beaten. Am I wrong I'm not even making this stuff up like I. Mean I don't even have to say it I've seen it right in front of my face. All you have to do is look at America today. Right and look at wherever you live new. York, we got a bad enough here. Hey, since they've done all the protests and everything. How's The community relations in New York carver high? How's the? How did for the July weekend go fifty shot. How many dead seventeen like that? How many people was it?.

"On behalf of myself, and she didn't I intend you. No. Any harm and venture towards any people for one of our love And last thing every day, people that know me know I have no answers in my heart. Never Tryingto put another religion answer of live my religion or race more. I just want you guys to understand that there is coming for me. You know, I just Hopefully everybody respect my pants to try just laid off. People Just let everybody know that you're involved. So that's the Sean Jackson Thie Eagles called the initial post defense of harmful and absolutely appalling. Steven Jackson then came to his defense on social media here since deleted it. But they were out there for a while. His initial reaction to what did Sean Jackson posted, so I just read a statement that the Philadelphia Eagles posted were gone to Sean Jackson comments trying to educate himself, educate people and he's speaking the truth. Here's another from Jackson. Speaking the truth, you know, you don't hate nobody. What he's speaking the truth of what of the facts that he knows and try to educate others. John wanted to educate ourselves. Hey, would compare What he saw. Yes, we do. That's exactly what we want. I mean, I missed that earlier in his comments cause you're rather not not so stuff he was saying, That's exactly what we want is those to educate themselves. They understand how offensive this is. It's the exact opposite of what he's saying. Here's Jackson bringing it back to where we are right now. It is talking about the black race, saying that about it, they killing US police killing us. Treated like racism at all time high, but a none ofyou. NFL owners spoke upon a And yeah, and finally on what the Eagles had to do with Riley Cooper and how that was handled in his opinion, and that of your team's spoke, spoke upon it with the same team had received and say the word to say publicly. And they gave him extension. And at the time they had the same statement. Ah, very similar statement. I should say that they were shocked and appalled by Cooper's words. He was fined for everything and you guys have gone through. How the team wanted keeping him and went through the locker room and stuff like that. So, um, quite the I guess, last 24 hours with these two guys yesterday. Then there's Patrick Mahomes. He's had quite the time because he's like Jonathan. They're having quite the time. 10 year extension from homes as we know and he goes is good for everybody by the Senators trust almost everybody as much as I trust in them. They trusted me. We were able to go out there and get this contract on the right way That not only gives me to the security that I've always wanted. But also allows opportunities that seem to be great around me the entire duration of my career and we have set the over under two Super Bowl championships for him at 3.5. Andy Reid hope he's around awhile. He hopes he's around awhile because he's got moms and Tyron Matthew now locked up, read, not a young man hopes to be an old man is he finishes out of scary with East too. You know, it would come to work. Have two great leaders like that, along with the other guys that loved to play the game. It would take me in in my seventies was roller be Dugan. I'm ready. Dog gone, it lets go on. Who knows? Maybe they will win again. And why not? We also talked about the Jaycee trader and the the NFLPA's Board of Representatives voting for no preseason games. We'll see where that goes, if anywhere baseball wise interest got game at Yankee Stadium last night, Here's Garrett Cole gave you five innings his take. Hit the load really? Well worked with Gary. Well, like I said at all four Ah, You know, pretty much located Well, tonight. Ah, need to work on the fastball command a little bit, but good progression. You guys ever hit the load? Well, I've never heard that one before. Jack Baldwin something last week. Someone on Friday and now this guy's hittin the load. Awesome. Here's a run free world. You know here. Is there all this Chapman because As a closer you want to be amped up now we heard from it was J. Happy, said He was pretty fired up even with the empty stadium yesterday. Here's Chapman on what he thinks It's going to be like trying to close out games with no one in the stands. Yeah, that's a good question. I'm gonna have to get back to you on that one. You know, I have got to go to that experience. It See how that how that feels. You know, I'll be better suited to give you a better answer than there Once I once I get into a game and the others trend that's the translator's just going on and on and on. You know, that's their They're loaded, man. They are. They're unbelievably loaded. Yeah, they are. Are you back? So he saw me ask you this If they're all healthy, Okay? And I know this is big thing for the Yankees out for Yankee pants out there. What is what is their lineup is LeMay you the leadoff hitter like he was the second half of last year. All the shows that Aaron Boone's got to figure out And I think the only thing and I think we said this last year and then it all kind of played itself out, because a lot of guys the biggest problem that Aaron Boone's gonna have Is fond enough playing time and at bats for everybody. Sounds about right when you're as does deep is this team is Pretty good, Nice problem to have, except unless you have to fill up the lineup card. I mean, essentially, you could put LeMay you at first You could put or shell at second and brave, but they do. And then you could, But, um Was Andrew hard third. If you really want to write, if you know if either Mike Ford or look void aren't doing their job. You could be a lot of options. You and the outfield. You've got a lot of people for spots in the outfield as well..

"We've been Riley Cooper situation is the Sean Jackson. Is a second time offender when it comes to anti Semitism. He has followed Louis Farrakhan for a couple of years. Okay. Not a first time offender is the second time offender and we're dealing with non tolerance and you're going to hit me up with something that says, you know we're going to work with him. We're going to do this. I don't believe anything, he said. Now. Well, I given the chance and an opportunity to learn absolutely. Because that's what we are just like you said Boom earlier about the rabbi. That's how rabbis do things they want to teach. They want to, you know, spread the word and all of that and and all of that stuff, but it's just It's It's just ridiculous, and they've dropped the ball here. This guy should at least be suspended while working on Himself. Okay. Gloria should be embarrassed as a Jewish owner. Period. There is no excuse whatsoever he is. This is at time like this caller said before anti Semitism, and I appreciate you guys bringing it up. That anti Semitism gets swept under the rug Mohr times than you can even imagine and by athletes. I mean, I don't want to go off another athletes right now. But with this subject, it's just It's just ridiculous and The funny thing is you want to talk about the ignorant Steven Jackson go back and watch his tweets. He's smoking a blunt Yeah. I mean, that's listen, Jay. Most of the time he is, I mean, I I You know, I've watched before all of this happen, and before the George Floyd murder, you know, he would you know, I found him very entertaining. And I found him insightful and all that stuff and I, You know, I don't want to I don't want to change my feelings on the Steven Jackson that I knew prior to this because he seemed like a guy that I was was Was great, and I remember he called us family when we would When we had him on at the Super Bowl. He goes, he goes. I had to make time for you guys. You guys are family, He said that and that's how we had like developed a bond with the show and him developed a bond very quickly, and now I'm hearing the stuff he's saying now and I feel I I feel horrible if it's socks that feeling because it's like You know, You just think that ah guy who you believe was standing up for the things that were right. A guy you thought you were on the same page with if someone has got that hate in his heart that he's been preaching against now for months. How there's no defending the show on Jackson. There's none whatsoever so that now that that's been the thing that's been what bothered me the most. While it's it bothered me to the point where I couldn't sleep last night. I literally was worried about what the heck we're gonna end up talking about that, and I'm glad we talked about it openly. You know, I'm glad we're maybe one of the only shows that is actually doing this. I don't know why. And what was there, but afraid of like this. We're supposed to be having these conversations, aren't we? Sure, Yeah. I mean, I think that Yeah, I don't know The answer to why people wouldn't bring that this up right? Because if everybody could talk about all the other social issues in the country And equality. This falls in line with that. If you're sitting on one of those debates shows there should be like the number one topic. Like what? Why is the Sean Jackson putting something out there that is inaccurate and and it is completely false. Right. Well, that's you and doing so, as he says, to enlighten his people. What is that? How do you How do you allow that without saying anything? Yeah, I know. I know that. I know that Steven Jackson is employed by People in the media industry and we haven't heard from them yet. So you know, that's that's something that I would like to hear. I know that the Eagles in the NFL responded with statements. You know whether you accept those statements or not, that's up to your own personal. Reference. But you know Stephen Jackson's also employees. Steven Jackson's not just a guy in his house who's retired. Now, you know he's working for major media companies. So you know, how do they feel about it? What's going on. Because that's that's rough man. And he did. Yeah, he took a post down shore. He took a post down, but He also essentially double down on it with that text that he posted on Instagram as well. So you know, and he went from In my opinion, someone you could be proud to call an employee to someone that is you are You want to distance yourself from because he just he drove his message right off a cliff. "Com Just because you guys started with Patrick Mahomes here, this segment here he was yesterday he was reacting to his monster deal. The 10 year extension. Hey, says he believes the team has now set up, Boomer. You were talking about dynasty while they've got a chance. Things will get handled handled the right way as we go throughout this career, and that we will be in a position to win a lot of football games. Hopefully, when a lot more championships as my career goes on, Yeah, no question. And while he is making a boatload of dough, he says, there's a lot more to this has never been about money to me. Obviously, it's it's awesome, and it's exciting time for me, but same time. I've always just done about being the best person the best player that I could be a personal day, and I just another step, probably with their step on the journey. That's just beginning and I'm just excited that we have this done. And I have that security right, go out there and be the same player that I was on That same person that I was Today. I step generously, and he does seem like the type of kid that's not going to change. Jerry. We have that's this. Think it we had right audio three years ago. It's the same kid and that's it, And that's why the chief's went as long as they did. Because they have been around him. Now they watch how he goes about his business. They've watch him on the field, obviously, but behind the scenes, they get to know who he is. And that's why you invest that kind of money in a player that for that amount of time because you really believe that he's going to be committed to you. And the one thing I said to in the contract that I at least I didn't mention yesterday. $140 million of injury guarantees or something like that. Right? So at least 200 million, OK, so that wasn't gonna have either got a look. When you have money he's made them. You know, I think this is the face of the Empire lead right here. By the way. That's where this kid is most you know, and I don't know they like I said, you know, I don't necessarily know there's anybody out there That doesn't like I know the teams. Probably that have to play against twice a year aren't Crazy about him, but I don't Nobody ever said a bad word about Elway or Marino. You know, they just hated playing against them because they were so great. Sounds about right now. That was about right. Alright to the strong Jackson stuff. We've played it all morning long. This is Jackson on Instagram yesterday, apologizing for the anti Semitic quote that he posted earlier. I've been getting feedback from the Instagram post. You know my story? I just wantto first all the standard apology on behalf of me and what I stand for because this fear never Want to put any breaks down or any people down. Hair was more Jackson with context and how it was taken. No, My post was definitely not intended. Frey anybody of any race to do anything away, especially Jewish community. Yeah. And then he had a final apology in the about a minute 50 that he spoke for about more. Just want you guys to understand that there is coming for me. You know, I just Hopefully everybody respect my pants to try just laid off people, and everybody knows that. Now Steven Jackson did come to his defense. He spoke on social media posted a video of that his initial reaction, so I just read a statement. At the Philadelphia Eagles opposed it. We're going to Sean Jackson communes trying to educate himself, educate people. He's speaking the truth. There was another one from Steven Jackson, comparing the comments and the history to the black community. It is talking about the black race, saying that about it. They killing US police killing us. Treated like racism at all time high, but a none ofyou. NFL owners spoke upon it. Now. Here is where he talks about Riley Cooper's passed with the Eagles and none of you team spoke, spoke upon it. The same team had a receiver to say the word to say publicly and they gave him extension. Now, just one thing here because yesterday, the Eagles released a statement saying that the what Jackson posted was offensive, harmful and absolutely appalling. When Riley Cooper did what he did, they released a statement saying they are shocked, appalled by Cooper's words, this sort of behavior or attitude from anyone. Has no role in a civil society. He is accepted responsibility. He has been fined for his incident right so that that that's what we're saying all morning every time you've played that, that that what Steven Jackson is saying, it's just not true. I mean, he got a contract extension later, but after he was fined after they talked to him about it after the locker room decided on his fate, Michael Vick had his back. They put I mean, a lot of stuff went on there. With Riley Cooper before he ended up getting a contract extension, and I just, you know, leaving that stuff out is extremely irresponsible now. Yeah, I know that that show time. Is the the parent company that does all the smoke, you know, with Steven Jackson and Matt Barnes. You know what? What is Stephen Espinoza do about this. You know, he's they're gonna have to answer to this some point. He's not just a former professional basketball player who's out there with his opinions on stuff. He's also a He's employed by a major media company to do a podcast that has gained a ton off popularity of the last year so that I happen to love But I mean, this is something that you know, just mean not to the extent of the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL needed to respond to the show on Jackson, But I do believe the Stevens checks and, you know, I'm saying not to the level, okay? What the Eagles and the NFL had to do it to Sean Jackson. But I do think that something has to be said from his employer. No Well, I I will say, I will say that it's worse because it Sze doubling down, and it's making inaccurate statements and accusing people of things that they didn't do. Andi, and I think that's dangerous. I think that's really dangerous, and he's out there. I'm like. Look, I sat behind this microphone every day for four hours been doing for 13 years I've been at CBS what for 17.5 years or 18 years now. You know, and I know what it's like to sit in front of a microphone and have to say something and given opinion and how you have to craft it and how you have to say it, and sometimes people don't like it. I get it. But when I heard what Steven Jackson said, and then I heard him, doubling down on it and making misstatements and Making statements that are not factual. It's just it's wrong. It's just absolutely wrong. There. There is a misguided This about the whole thing about what he is talking about. Sure, I mean, it's it's it's irresponsible. The fact that he is putting out things that are false. I just you know, and then I'm not and he has a lot of power right now. He's got it. He's got the the platform and he's and for the most part, he's used it the way that I think I would have used it. If that were my friend that got killed. Yes. Oh, right, 100% and we've agreed with a lot of stuff, he said prior to this, and this is you went off the cliff as we've mentioned, But you know, just as the Eagles are doing something with this and then Sean Jackson is is being talked to and working with the Jewish community in Philadelphia, and he's going to go to the Holocaust Museum and all that stuff. I think that you know, I'm not seeing just caught a guy fire a guy, whatever situation he's in, But is there Is there anything that's being done with with Steven Jackson or people talking to him are what is what is Jeff Kanter would say, What's the guy's name? Well, let's play the next clip one where he talks about the owner from his Big three team. I play for the Big Three. We have a Jewish owner. He understands what we what we stand and some of things we say, But it's not about writing to him is the way we been treated. Philadelphia need to repose this Jeff Kwatinetz is in China, right? I don't. I don't know. I have no idea. I mean, I'd like it stitched too vague for me to put the pieces together, But I mean, like I've said before like that, That's a big I just know that if You know any one of us? Said something like that. You know the immediately Well, there would be someone from management. That would be, you know, talking to us. I just I just want to know wasn't on the podcast. But It was on his own instagram page. So just at 1/4 to 12 last night, he did write this is Steven Jackson, he wrote to whom it may concern your race is pain doesn't hurt more than the next race is pain. Don't act like your hardships or more devastating than ours..

"I know that the one caller at the end of the show when we got into this asking, you know Roger Goodell to speak on. This is well in the NFL, releasing a statement. Is sort of like that. Not like Roger put out a personal video about it, but they did release a statement to filter out the Eagles did as well on and now you know, the question is for the show on Jackson. Who so far in my opinion, has not Done enough and maybe he will get to that point. But We heard what he said apologizing. And he still believes that the thing that he posted his words, not me, putting words in his mouth, he said, even after the apology in the backlash, and all the anger that was directed towards him, rightfully so. Said that he was trying to enlighten his people. And he still thinks that the post that he put up there was teaching people. About something that they needed to know. And that unintentionally by him doing that. He had offended people, and he needed to understand that you know, people are offended by it. But still, you know. Hey, I was here trying to do some good. And that's to me is a long way to go for him. There is still a long way to go, right, you know, and like I said earlier this morning when you see racism and it's in your face, it's ugly. And it's It's Ah, it's debilitating. It's demeaning. It's embarrassing, and it makes people angry. And rightfully so. When you see anti Semitism in the open, like we saw it. You feel the same way you feel broken hearted? You feel angry and the people that have touched the most the Jewish community In this case, you know, I have been Especially the younger Jewish kids that are growing up now are all being taught about that. And then all of a sudden, you hear guys did play professional sports start talking about it didn't happen, or there's something else coming from it and white. I mean, just it just doesn't make any sense. Yeah, So that's that's ah, That's the hard thing to come to grips with. There are a number of Jewish organizations pro football talks reporting us that in Philadelphia that have reached out to do Sean Jackson to try to help him and educate him. So I Maybe That's part of the plan for Howie Roseman and and that felt off the Eagles toe kind of navigate through this, just like they navigated through bringing Mike Vick in and going through the Riley Cooper stuff, and now they have this to deal with. So it's not like this is a team that hasn't gone through this before. Andi. Sean does the right thing and is contrite and shows a real willingness that learn and see and understand the horror of this whole thing. Then maybe maybe he can still play. For Stephen Jackets extract Jackson's concern. It's a That's a whole different story now. Yeah, now, and I am a firm believer that you know you can. If you are someone who is willing to learn about these things can be forgiven by those who are the most effective. I affected by it. You know, like the rabbi in Philadelphia, you know, he wants to help educate Sean Jackson, and he wants to forgive him and that's that's what he wants to do, and hopefully it goes that way. But those who won't back down from that, and that's what we have seen from Steven Jackson, those who are not interested. In hearing from the other side and learning and rehabilitating your thoughts and trying to be educated on matters that you are not educated on. You know, those are the people I don't have the time for and that's for everything. I know those of you know the Confederate flag people. I don't have time for those people, though. You know those with things that Steven Jackson said, I'm sorry. I mean, if you're telling me that you're sticking by that, and you realize you haven't realized that you've made a mistake. And and you're offending so many people and all this stuff that you said about a quality basically goes out the window when you double down on supporting to Sean Jackson. If you can't understand that, I'll give you a chance to understand it. And if there's anybody out there that can help, you know, let's help. But if you're not willing to listen, then at some point you just got to turn your back and say I'm sorry, man. We tried well, this You know it's again, You know, it's such a slippery slope. It's just, you know, it's a conversation that Steven Jackson needs tohave, maybe with a rabbi, or maybe needs to go visit. One of these memorials and learn about it and try to stay off the hate the hate sites. Hate sites out there, you know that. I know that. I mean, what you could look anywhere You want on Twitter and all of a sudden there's an expert there that's preaching hate it in some regard towards some group of people. And you know, it's like, just turn off. That's the other thing, too, is like if I were to Sean Jackson, Man, I'd get rid of all my social media accounts right now. Just shut everything off because he is just going to get he's gonna end up getting it. On both sides. He's going to get support from some fanatics and fringe people, and he's going to just get hammered from the people that he upset and rightfully so. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that's This underlying issue that is that is out there with social media. That will not go away is I mean What it can do to a person's brain is dangerous, because you know whether it's you know, the bullying stuff that can happen on there. The stuff that you're talking about where you Khun B as as nasty and as ignorant as humanly possible. And there's be a a faction of people that will come and support you to make you think that you're right. You know, I mean, there's people out there that want to tear you down at every turn and question who you are. I mean, it's just when we say so. What will it mean? It's a sewer pit and you've got to be it. You've got to be strong and there's not. There's no change in it. Like I know, a Twitter is trying to change it themselves. And I know the first lady wants to change it. Which is that the irony in that is incredible to me. But You know, there's all people trying. You can't change it. The only thing that you could do is you can control your response to it and understand what's really what's not what's important and what's not so and and it's not easy. It is not easy to be able to do that. All right, let's go to Gregory in Parsippany. What's going on, Gregory? Hey, How are you? Amen. Morning. I just wanted to wish you guys every day at work. Listen to everything going on. I just wanted to touch on the topic. They were on right now. 10 30 next month. And obviously in that age group that we were just talking about that should be, you know, basically highly educated on What went on World War two. I have to be honest, I've never had any sort of Ambition toe learn about any of that Now, as I got older, I'm definitely more open minded to learning about it. But I have to say it is Erkki a little bit when you said that. You just don't understand our people. We've been at each You don't understand what happened and I just have to say I just never Really wanted to get his balls in athletes. There's something in I never really all I don't want you, but here's that, But it's not. It's not a want, though Gregory to need And what weren't you taught that in schooler like that? I I could remember moments like I mentioned like specific moments. Also in eighth grade. They took us down to D. C. On a trip and we went to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D. C. Where you know there's the shoes that are filed out there, right? And it's like, how could you ever forget back like that's the thing like I wasn't seeking it out in eighth grade. You think I was seeking out? I was laughing at farts and making fun of my friends like I didn't want to know. About genocide, but I was told about it. I was taught it so that's what I'm saying. I mean, it's it's I know it's not completely up to the individual every time but it is up to our school system to be able to educate. Kids off of that age. You know what went on when you have to know at a certain point. I mean, so you're telling me you weren't taught this stuff at all? I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that I wasn't focused, you know? Invested in learning, you know, really at that point in my life, so it was more meat. You know that some of the honest I never Okay, cool guys. I just want to, you know, friends, Sally, that in a situation like they're just big athlete who didn't care about what were, you know, whatever. You know, we just didn't really want to learn. So it wasn't that we weren't being caught it Now, Then again, Okay. Alright, fine. All right, all right, then. That's and that, you know, it's it's It's nice of you to be able to have the self awareness and say that and say that about yourself..

"Or not from Hitler. You shared sentiments. From Louis Farrakhan. Just anti Semitic comments that he thought were uplifting African Americans that he thought were uplifting black folks Quote unquote White Jews will blackmail America. They will extort America. Their plan for world domination won't work if the Negroes know who they were did. Sean Jackson has apologized for these comments. The Philadelphia Eagles, the NFL every organization, anti defamation, just take the whole anti alphabet, mix up the letters and take three letters. Every single one of those organizations have basically denounced the comments by two Sean Jackson. And the eagle say that they will take appropriate action to Sean Jackson is apologized a couple of times already he has already reached out to the Jewish community in Philadelphia to try to educate himself and try to become more involved in the community. And I think that's what it's a matter ofthe And I can tell you OK, I can read this and say OK? What he said was extremely ignorant. What he shared was ignorant, he copped and plead so that he may not still have a full understanding of what he said. But I still think it's done. I still think that, Yeah, I think he deserves some type of fine. In my opinion. It's real simple. You've you go back and look at what Riley Cooper said when he said the n word almost seven years ago for the Eagles coming off of a career year where he hauled in more than 800 yards, you know Riley Cooper, you know you got a slap on the wrist. You didn't miss any time. I don't think the Sean Jackson should lose this job. I don't think you should be kicked out of the NFL. I mean, the NFL has had some really evil human beings that have participated in the league. I don't think that's too Sean Jackson. I've met him. Nice guy. I met his mom last year, actually, at a tailgate here in Atlanta had a chance to talk and hang out. Meet her for a little while. I don't think this is a hateful guy. I think he's uneducated on on an issue and he shared something ridiculous..

"You know Riley Cooper. He didn't miss any games. It was pretty clear What he said was was hateful to an individual right there in front of him. And we know if there's one thing about the NFL, and this mostly comes from Roger Goodell and actually the Players association giving them the power. The NFL hasn't always been consistent in the punishments that they hand out. Any NFL. They've pretty much said that we don't approve of what did Sean Jackson said. You know, every civil rights organization you can fill out an alphabet soup of organizations right now. Every organization you could think of has denounced. What did Sean Jackson shared online. And I think if you want to go in line with similar punishments you doctor guys pay do I think he should be cut? No, no, I think he should be suspended. Not necessarily I think you take some money out of his pocket. And I think ultimately he has reached out to groups to educate himself on the post that he put up and I think that is a solid start rather than AH, half apology. You know, I always say it's not about what you say. It's also about what you do. The phone lines are open 855 to 1 to four, CBS 855 to 1 to four. CBS. What are your thoughts on what Sean Jackson said. More importantly, What is the punishment? The Eagle said they are going to take appropriate action. What is that? What do you think That should be? "What is a publication ship that is a relationship for the purposes of publicity and what is the cake that is that our readers shake Bradley Cooper and it used to be a thing right cake was a thing like must much like a Bhimber lake somebody left out if the cake out in the rain and now it's just a shake and it's a room to shake literally she is dropping some crumbs according to Jezebel about her do you like to take this metaphor as far as we can yeah well they literally said crumbs and it works out perfectly for this analogy but she's drop in some chrome's about her for a relationship now we need to put on our publication ship Cobre gang hats and we don't need to play the segment necessarily because we didn't say we're going to do that but let's just pretend like copper gang whenever this Rommel we need to find out what's really going on with the words that she's saying about her former relation okay okay here's what she said then let's talk quote this is what she told the British vogue I have a strong personality and I definitely know what I want and I think some men are scared of that if somebody's out of my life they're out of my life and I really cut all ties you know I think some people are really scared of coldness I also think not many people know that underneath there's a nice sweet person who cries in interviews there's way too much going on in there one last thing I think it all good relationships you bring your best and your worst it's just the nature of a human being two great people don't have to make a good couple okay let's break some of this down first of all let's set the stage for the audience who maybe wasn't paying attention to what a cake was right what do we think was really going on and why do we really think that cake Bradley Cooper Irina Shayk worry publication ship so we've had some Intel the past the Bradley Cooper is that actually looking for a relationship with a woman and so I really shake what is okay what the owner that again hello okay thank you that she was what they call in the business a beard what is a beard Bradley I mean it's not necessarily a woman who's dating a game and because you just want to be out it can be that can be but it's also just you know a woman who or a man who marries a partner for the purposes of you know publicity publishing chip yeah or just you know that the what because maybe the celebrity doesn't run after him to questions about their relationship status or there's any number of reasons let me know your business exactly so we thought that arena shake was a beard yes trust us we have reason to believe that we can get along now if you want us to but back to cake so they broke up and it was amicable right like remember for the most part there wasn't any like fireworks there was like a little bit of stuff there were some publications that blamed it on his intense relationship with lady Gaga but we think that that was more of lady Gaga wanting to get some headlines exactly yeah okay so and we also assume that perhaps maybe her contract ran out right and actually well go I'd bet but I do want to draw Holly's attention to the fact that Bradley wasn't here when we write a particular blind item about this all to do it now but I just want you to have that ready go on okay so let's stand double back if you're just joining us we're talking about cake that is the former real the relationship formally known as cake Bradley Cooper Irina Shayk she's talking about her relationship vaguely invoke and by and what she said again to reiterate is I have a strong personality and I definitely know what I want and I think some men are scared of that do you think she's trying to say whether it's true or not give the impression the rap for Riley Cooper was scared of her strong personality yeah which I mean only yeah I don't buy that at all but five and then she says if someone's out of my life they're out of my life okay that actually just sounds kind of route and if you're applying that I mean I don't know what the point is is saying that if you're not trying to leave some sort of comment in the the Bradley Cooper pocket yeah right so like you have a child with him yeah he's your child staff your life yeah but that just sounds rude also I think well and I think maybe he is mostly out of her life you know what now may be a good time for this blind and yes you were Friday this foreign born a a minus list model has not been spending much time with her offspring because a new client wants

"Finally, we move along to two thousand fourteen which. The height of chip mania in Philadelphia. It's almost easy to forget nowadays. Isn't it that chip Kelly was the the man with the head coach of this team? I really sometimes forget he existed in this town because of all success Doug Peterson has had six succeeding him. And you know, there was a time though in chip Kelly was the savior of this football team. He'd led the eagles this year from foreign twelve record the season before in reads last year to attend and six record and the NFC east title started the season with Michael Vick quarterback. But Vick suffered a hamstring injury in week six, and then Nick foles took over and foles as we all remember went on a kill crazy rampage quarterback going eight and two as a starter. He threw twenty seven touchdowns and only two interceptions in ship Kelly's offense good for a one hundred nineteen point zero passer rating that season now as we washed foles, we didn't really think he was the long-term answer quarterback because he wasn't fit with the Kelly offense. It was argued at the time that ship needed a running quarterback too. Operate his RPO system properly, which is obviously something foles is not. But they made it work that year and going into the playoffs. Nobody wanted to play the eagles. But in came drew Brees and the saints Philadelphia for a wild card showdown at link the saints where the number six seed, and the eagles were the number three seed, of course, the breeze foles matchup that day was a rematch that is set for this weekend. We all know these two both attended the same high school in Austin, Texas, Westlake high school ten years apart from each other that rivalry, of course, was talked about quite a bit in the days leading up to the game in two thousand fourteen. And of course, it's been a part of the narrative leading up to the game this weekend against New Orleans. The game got off to a slow start offensively as both teams are trying to find their footing. Neither team scored in the first quarter. And the saints jumped on top with Shayne Graham field goal in the second quarter. But the birds would answer back inside the two minute warning. In the pocket, and then the pooper Clarkston. That ten yard strike from foles to Riley Cooper was insane. As foles held the ball with virtually no one around him for about five and a half seconds in the pocket before throwing it to Cooper in the end zone. The saints as you heard. We're just rushing three and just they didn't come anywhere near foles. He just sat back there. Just bouncing around looking for his guys and finally found Cooper in the end zone Cooper later in the game. Would absolutely kill the eagles. Because there's a play where foles is throws a beautiful ball to a crossing Cooper about seven eight yards in front of them. But there is there are no saints around Cooper and Cooper seems to know it and starts looking downfield before he catches the ball and misses the bunny right in front of him. He have gone for forty or fifty yards might scored on the play which would have been a huge turning point in the game. As it is the eagles had to punt and did not take advantage of. And I still believe Riley Cooper, probably wakes up in a cold sweat thinking about that play. He should. Because you gotta catch that ball Riley. That's place. Still bug me. I saw I saw it as watching that game again this week. And it still gets me upset. Anyway, the ten yard strike from foles to Riley Cooper was insane. The eagles go on top seven to six heading into the locker room..
