"Emily you wrote about how marijuana policies have been relaxed across all of the major sports win. Do you think that trend really began? Actually think there has been significant progress in the last twelve months last year last. March I wrote about the. Nhl's marijuana policy which you know if you follow the NHL surprise you. It was the most progressive of all sports. It was treatment based approach. They test for weed. But if you test positive you don't get fined and you don't have to sit out which as we know it was a big problem in sports like football But in the last twelve months majority of the sports now have approached its various alert to the NHL the NFL did a new collective bargaining agreement this year in twenty twenty and they totally revamped their marijuana policy and in baseball after Tyler skaggs death the MLB in PA also redid their drug policy. Hold but they tweak the marijuana policy and really right now which again is pretty surprising the NBA has the harshest penalties for marijuana so there are nuances and the differences between cannabis. Thc can you explain for us how those might show up on the different policies for different sports? Yeah so CBD is something that if you've ever gone to a gas station and the Middle Maryland. You might have seen on the shelves. It's very very common on. But it doesn't have the psychoactive properties of. Thc So the NFL policy prohibits use of THC which is found in marijuana and they also test for some CBD products and that was really a problem for player is including Rob Gronkowski. I'm here to to appeal to the sports governing bodies of the world to update their position on CBD whether that's the NBA MLB or NFL. It's just time WHO HAS CANNABIS COMPANY THAT CBD. And he pretty much said well. He was briefly retired. I don't WanNa be banned from playing the sport. I love because I'm using a product that anybody could buy right off the shelf at their local pharmacy. I only wish I knew about CBD medic while. I was playing. It would have made a huge difference for me. I believe during my playing career. We just talked to Ricky Williams about how strict policies were in the past when he was playing or actually even more recently than that. What were the harsh punishments? Athletes could receive for testing positive for cannabis use. Yeah suspensions that were like Ricky suffered a year. Long Major League baseball actually had some of the craziest in harshest penalties wild. It never really affected major league baseball players but it actually affected their minor league players and a first test. If you test positive could be. Subject to a fifty game ban in a second test is a hundred game ban. The third is a lifetime ban. Just think about how crazy that isn't how many careers were derailed guys in the minor league who smoked pot one since but Tested positive and this is what they faced would about the NFL in the NFL. If you test positive wants nothing happens to your just put in the program. But after that you start to face steep burr fines and penalties including a lot of your game checking up to one year suspension and we saw so many cautionary tales. Williams one of them. Another is Randy Gregory. Who went six hundred sixteen days between regular season games because of suspensions so this has changed a great deal in the NFL? Right under the new. Cba Yeah the new NFL policy really closely mirrors the NHL policy where it's more about treatment at. It's not about punishment that can be punitive or in some terms critique Conan if you test positive in the NFL. You'll never get suspended just because of marijuana you might enter the program and you might have to get tested more and more and you'd be under doctor's supervisions but they're just saying we're worried about your health and we. WanNa make sure you get the right track. We will take money out of your pocket. But this won't keep you off the field. You mentioned that the NBA now has the strictest policy. What are their roles so in the NBA of first positive test means that player enters the program? Second Test Calls for twenty five thousand dollar fine and by the third infraction. You're getting a five game suspension. And then each time after that You keep adding five more games the NBA though doesn't test players in the off season and the Union in the League both agree that they weren't going to test players during this virus pause do you think the NBA might loosen up as well in the coming years. You know I think everybody is expecting it may not just because the NBA has a reputation as a more progressive league. Commissioner Adam Silver has been asked about this a bunch of times and he's in constant communication with Air Players Association He's head pretty hard line stance though he says we're GonNa follow the science and he had this great interview with Yahoo Sports Ahead of the NBA finals last year. And he pretty much said I understand. Sometimes it feels uncall- that's a word. He used the league still test for marijuana. But I think that's not exactly where the state of science on marijuana is. Why do you think these leagues keep setting the NBA have changed stripe so much when it comes to marijuana policy? I think that it's all reflective of societies us towards marijuana as you referenced. The beginning of the show were now in a situation where nearly eighty percent of professional sports franchises in North America are in cities or provinces. Where player can go to practice. Go home then. Walk down the street and whatever city that he lives our she loves and legally purchased marijuana and so it is wild to me and wild to a lot of these Sports Franchises that. If that's something that you can legally do. How are you being punished for it? What about the players? How do they feel about these rules? In the fact that they're being loosened Meena. I know this might come as a surprise but players uniformly do not. WanNa get suspended or marijuana use docker. He want to do whatever they do in their free time and not have their owners and the franchises that they play punish them. But the guys I talked to you for this story and as I was doing research. Most guys use it for relaxation. The player exit I talked about in the NHL he was talking about. You know after a long game where he you know. There's a bunch of lights and stimulation and physical activity is takes a couple of hits of his vape pen just to relax and go to sleep at night and it just goes beyond mental health benefits as well. There's a lot of pain. Management benefits that players. Say you know it used to cover the NFL. And I know how prevalent Pain killers are and toward all and things like that and a lot of players just say. Marijuana is safer and more natural alternative. That's that's why I prefer it all right. Emily thanks for getting in the weeds with me. My God that's good. That's a good name was the highlight of my day. Coming up secretary at the greatest ever hope it will find out Saturday sort..

Jalen Ramsey's troubled Jaguars tenure ends with blockbuster trade to Rams

"Terms of Jalen Ramsey will talk about this he finally got what he wanted the end result the disgruntled corner headed to the Los Angeles Rams the Jaguars finally relented and Ramsey to the west coast for first round draft picks two of the one in twenty twenty one in two thousand twenty one also a fourth rounder in the two thousand twenty one draft here's a statement for Jaguars executive VP. Tom Coughlin given the situation with Jalen we made this decision based on what we thought is in the best interest of the Jacksonville Jaguars for this season and well into the future we feel the trade that we struck with the rams gives us great value for the next two drafts and remain confident that our team today will compete this season for a division title Jalen Wasser Productive Flair but the time came to move on and we wish him and his family the best in Los A- Angela here's head coach Doug marrone obviously I had a good relationship with him and we were working together to get them healthy on the field and that that's what my focus was so he can get on the field and help us you know win football games and now you know how concentrating on on the players gotta here and and getting our guys focused on on on Cincinnati I think in his league nothing ever really surprises me anymore you know especially from the business side of things I found out like everybody else did last night you know lately point Dave came in and told me Rams reporter Lindsey theory joins us from L. A. and Lindsey listen there's been a lot of coming and going and all Ryder roster changes what's the general reaction to all of the news from the rams this week Wendy for a team that's three and three and in the mid of a three game losing streak certainly renewed buzz and energy at the team facility this morning now I am told the Jalen Ramsey is in route to Los Angeles and he's expected here later this afternoon or the rams do expect that he will pass his physical and I am told that he could be on the field for them as soon as Sunday against the Falcons now this would be viewed as a move where the rams are going all in once again to try to make a repeat super bowl run but I am told the Rams really believe that this is a move for their long-term future keep to leave and Marcus Peters or playing the season on expiring contracts Ramsey has another season left and the rams do intend to sign him to a long term engine now as you mentioned he's not the only new face here at the facility today Kenny Young Austin Corbett also were here they have passed their physicals though remains to be seen if they will be at practice later this afternoon and one more note Wendy Safety John Johnson is headed to injured reserve because of shoulder injury. Lindsey thank you it was a rare blockbuster trade a few weeks now before the trading deadline Ramsey joined a small handful of veteran players traded for multiple first round picks in the last third two years or so Khalil Mack and Jay Cutler garnered big offers from the bears the dolphins move two first rounders for Ricky Williams and it too big halls to get Herschel Walker an Eric Dickerson listen we can go back to the jags but since June Ramsey is moving onto the rams let's start with what he means for the La Rams Right now we'll Wade Phillips now gets a play defense the way he wants to Wakefield's really wants to play in your face on the line of scrimmage with the defensive line pressure and then in your face on the live with men cover corners. He hasn't been able to do that to be honest with you with Marcus Peters Marcus Peters is not not played good man to man coverage needs a better zone corner so now wade having Jalen gets the opportunity to get back to Colin defense the way he wants to do it I'll be really interested to see if they use Jalen the way we want I bill belichick thrill reverse where you put him on the team's best number two receiver and then everybody else gets to get double teams opposing for the opposing offense but it makes their defense significantly best Champ Bailey the dion sanders I mean the great quarters you can do that lock him up and then roll the other side I think you'll see that the other thing that was curious for me was that Tom Coughlin mentioned that Jaguars were better this year and going forward I think maybe either that was miss written or because they're not speak they're not better by getting a great player out of there so I miss quotes tim so expe- Joe Joe Listen you were you were spot on Jalen Ramsey never changed his stance which is what you asserted from the get-go and I would assume just finally came to a point where it just made no sense to have him on a roster when he wasn't going to win this transaction happened yesterday the first thing came to my mind is how often the people I was always talking to that this was going to work out for Jalen Ramsey like there was no fretting I didn't hear any fear and now that this is resolved itself in the way that it has it kind of plays into the tone that I've been hearing all along now I was talking to a source obviously familiar with Jalen Ramsey. They said that he's excited considering this a fresh start to be with the rams I think one of the questions that I had in talking to ram source last night was why not hold onto Marcus Peters to have opposite Jalen Ramsey in terms of making this movie now one thing that the ram source said to me is that it looked like it was clear that less need did not want to pay marcus. Peters beyond this year he's eligible unrestrained the free agency next year and it was better just to rip off quote unquote the band-aid now so then it becomes well who is opposite Jalen Ramsey for this game against the Atlanta Falcons they mentioned that two thousand seventeen when cal Roby Coleman I came to the teen that he did fill in for a keep to Leon outside first and second down and then on Nichols would have him excuse me on third down having a nickel or sometimes have troy hill on the outside and then have an RC in the middle so expect something like that or combination of that against the Falcons either way Julio Jones saw the rams problems in the short turn no because the opposite of the ball is atrocious right now and that's been there issue as far as being a front now what I will say is it does play into them getting better though like we can focus on golfing what this offense has been doing but with the guy like Jalen Ramsey not only does he hell Aaron Donald give him a maybe a half a second more to get to the quarterback he also may be able to steal a possession to for you and this ninety four was out there so air down gets another piece on the back end that can help him hold off quarterbacks for a second for him to get there and that's that's really all I can think about so maybe you

"Have you do you think any differently than you did on draft night where on this podcast last week Kuyper who's been team? Daniel Jones is not as bad as you think. Saying I can't get my head around the idea that he goes at six now they've got him out there working PR teams got him before we could get him at seventeen. No, you feel any differently about that pick. I said all along that when we got closer you can't lose him. And we talked about trading up. Is there a trade grooten drilled into my head ever? You can't just trade up unless there's a partner and the Redskins at fifteen divisional rival. So they really believe they had to believe this at Daniel Jones as a franchise quarterback. Okay. That they can't live without his if you're seventeen you wait you're saying here like drew lock they could live without trulock lost your lock. So if you're lock hits, not a genius move. It's just that other teams pass them when they got him. Just like when Russell Wilson fell to Seattle third credit for taking them thirty one other teams didn't but it wasn't like they took him in the first round. So again with with this situation here, you know, I don't know. I think I think they've Gettleman felt like I cannot risk not having. Daniel Jones parts football team moving forward. And the only way I can guarantee that is taken at six seventeen would have been too risky. And if I don't care if you like him, you don't like what the more fans hate them. More chance he has to be successful. Okay. Remember when Ricky Williams over over Donovan McNabb. Ricky williams. Everybody's booing. Sometimes fans are wrong. Sometimes I remember Mike quick when it was very disappointed that Tuttle forehead. We're going way back on that. So you got to be fifty and above understand what I'm saying here. That's not what we're dealing with. But sometimes, but I always referred to the seventies. What can you do? But the answer your question, Chris I looking back on it. I don't have a problem with. Hey, todd. Here's the follow up question. Daniel Jones in two thousand nineteen. I came out of my ear. And I went to get hit my top top your hand. I the top of my hand on this thing. Got a podcast is perfectly..

"So Indiana has to make a splash in this free agency. They really do. This is the franchise. We'd mentioned it on our last episode. This franchise is a proud franchise that is not used to being in the basement, they gotta they gotta make some changes something has to happen. And I do think that the roster needs some adjustment. So possibly look into Riessen cabbie pond Dexter, but I think that for the price that you're gonna pay capi. I think that you could go out and find some younger. Talent that's going to potentially grow into something. More significant for you down the line as you build your franchise back. That's my thoughts on Kathy. It will be interesting to see where she ends up Las Vegas pretty short here. They've got a couple of players on reserved. I actually don't anticipate seeing Lindsey Ellen or dear a Hamby Leaving Las Vegas. That's just my take. We'll see what happens there pretty quick take their on Las Vegas LA. This is another team that has just a pile of players and a lot of big names here that you're going to hear an it'll be interesting to see what which what coach Fisher and the rest of the sparks front office has to say about this. I'm I'm actually gonna hit their unrestricted. I they have a lane a beard essence Carson essence Carson, and Ricky Williams, I know Williams, I think is probably the one in my opinion whose future is a little shaky with LA. That's just me. I honestly would not be surprised if you also see Elena beard exploring options. Elsewhere essence Carson, I could see her sticking around LA. She she also has worked outside of basketball that she that. She does there in LA. So I could see her trying to find a good spot to stick with the sparks there. Chelsea gray and odyssey. Sims are also on reserved. So LA has a chance to match anything that gets offered to them from another team. So LA has a lot of potential losses. And it will be interesting to see who they feel like they want to cut loose during free agency. Minnesota obviously, you got my more chillier Zenda Zandi Seaney who is becoming one of my favorite players to watch in Minnesota. She is actually on reserved for this for this upcoming season. I don't think she's going anywhere. I think she's sticking with Minnesota. She seems to love it there. And I think that Minnesota's a great fit for her. But you'll maybe notice a couple unrestricted names, you have both Simone Augusta's and Rebecca Brunson as an unrestricted free agent and with the departure of Lindsay Whalen with last year being kind of a disappointment based on where they've been in years before. You know? Never know at this point Augusta's in Brenton both been there for a pretty long time. And it really comes down to are they comfortable or do. They wanna go out venture out. Maybe chase a chase a title later on in their career. And I think there's a couple of teams that would be willing to shell out some cash for either one of those players New York Tina Charles, obviously is cord Piff any prints Kia von Chevanton zealous are all unrestricted free agents. And I think that each one of those is pretty significant for New York, New York, again is kind in shambles I wouldn't be surprised to see several players leaving New York just because the uncertainty of the future of the franchise, which is unfortunate. But you never know New York kinda just did nothing last year. They just kinda stayed par for the course, nobody really left a not really came to New York outside of the draft..

Las Vegas LA Lindsey Ellen New York Minnesota Las Vegas Carson Indiana Simone Augusta Ricky Williams Elena beard Riessen Kathy Zenda Zandi Seaney Tina Charles Lindsay Whalen Chelsea gray Fisher basketball Brenton Hamby

"Like this. This couldn't be more clear. What are you doing? Yeah. Count their condoms that that's very jobless condoms to by the way. Just so we know like just so, you know, if you're listening to this random lady who kisses walking around with one arm. Does. So keep them on the fucking thing. You're like, oh, no down eighteen condoms. He had twenty two less. We know he jerked off four times this week or made out with you. If you're if you're married dude with kids and your your birth control method is condoms. This is an issue. You should just he's have sex me. Yeah. He probably does instill. He still uses condoms. He doesn't like the mess a minute and a half. And by the way, we're not shaming because listen all guys go throw pace, some of us faster than others, whatever. All right up considered telling his wife about the affair reasoning that she deserves. Can we cool with the affair? I don't know if there's a full blown of fair yet. It's well, no. Here's the thing. I think that this isn't a fair it's been three years of making out. Okay. That's a long time marriage never having sex only consider telling his wife about the affair raising that she deserves to know. But my true motivation is that I want to hurt him. He's hurt me. He uses me like a toy. He plays with then sets aside. Yep. Yeah. You nailed that xactly. Okay. Finishing up. I know I should find another job. But I truly love the children. Can't imagine not seeing them. She definitely is like she definitely gets really happy. When the kids excellently, call her mom. Yeah. No. She's I don't think that she loves the kids. She's probably not supervising too closely because she's in the bedroom counting rubbers. Yeah. Right kids out there, choking on building blocks. And she's like, wait. No. I thought there were two ribbed ones and to lubricated and one that was the fire ice. What happened the fire? Nice laugh and the kids out there blue in the face 'cause he's dead. Yeah. He's he's he's probably reading Hogwarts in that in that nice yellow room. I'm scared that I love him of dated other people during the course of our fair. But no one makes me feel the way the dad does. Yeah. Because no one no one has a three year relationship where you only make out. And so, of course, this is going to be a very unique. Feeling to this man. Yes. Maybe try that. Try dating a guy who you only make out with once a week, and he comes in his pants and see if that feels the same as your relationship with there are a lot of dudes out there that could probably that. Exact right. Yeah. The make out the make out date is a very very weird move because he's probably like, I guess she's wanting more. Betas has been going on for three years. Can you? Imagine wife arches in passionately. Guys wife doesn't make out with them. That's a problem. Yeah. Like, FOX, he's using xeloda condoms. So he doesn't want to have sex because he's getting don't want to shame her. But she she's about maybe she's got braces. Maybe she had braces for the last three years aggressive with tongue. Yeah. Yeah. Finishing up. Where do I find the strength to leave this situation? I feel sick and hopeless. Why can't I seem to quit you gotta ride it out to the kids? Go to college assigned haven't hit my breaking point. So that's great. So you just keep going. You just literally said you just answered your own question haven't hit my breaking point. You're good to keep making out with this fucking, dude. Jesus christ. I would love to have this person on God damn it. And then I don't know the person who responded like probably the worse violate you. Go to leave. This is a pad situation for the kids know, you've got tell the dude stop coming his pants. You know? And for the past three years have been babysitting for family two years ago. I began having a strange kind of affair with the father of the children who's thirteen years older than me by strange. I mean, we make out about once a week. It's insanely hot. We kiss our hands wander close get pushed aside and then after about ten minutes he abruptly stops and says he has to go. He also comes from why apartment after work sometimes. But again, only to make out briefly, nothing more. It's torture. I love making out. So first of all this guy is coming in his pan. Yeah. "Thousand dollars on the chiefs, minus one at the Mirage tonight watching these final few minutes, just imagined this match me that is so related. So when when people like leave ESPN and they're saying on leaving can finally be me. Yeah. And get out and show my personality with Darrin meant by that was I get to use the word dude in my tweet. Yes, doodoo death. So then someone actually funny. You mentioned that one responded. No Darren also can't imagine being the dude who left a huge company go work for an app and Darren replied visionaries are visionaries because others can't see their initial vision. It's very Thomas quote. They said the same thing Jesus. Oh, man. My like we should actually make new segment during Val trying to pretend like he's gambled before. It's always like magic magin talking to the dude who had the under in this game. No, I can't I can't fucking saying right now he tweets out live look at the under like as the game ins, and it's been over the last like forty minutes magin being the dude who had UNBC over Virginia and your bracket and walking into work the next day. No. I can't. No, no. And if someone said that's me fucking saw them in the face coma liar. Okay. That's it king stay kings. This is for Marvin Lewis who the report has come out that the Bengals. Are going to apparently let Marvin Lewis coach for as long as he wants to coach. That's classic thing. Yeah. So I don't even know where to go with this. This is just this is so perfectly Bengals they're basically. Hey, man. You suck. We know. You suck. We can't fire you. So we just fire yourself is nothing wrong with that. The Bengals are like a shitty old community golf course. And they're not gonna they're never going to be great. But they've got a groundskeeper that most of the people tend to enjoy. And so they're like you can live in this shack right on the ninth hole. Shane and mow the fairways for as low until you know, often to the great big sunset in the sky. Right. And and everybody will be fine with you because the stakes are very very low in Cincinnati. So like, I have no problem with that. Just like a gold watch when he wants to retire. It's actually the Bengals you could make the case are like the most relatable franchise in the world because you have a coach who's like, you know, what I don't really want to like leave. I don't wanna get new job and like have to ply for place. No, everyone has had that moment. Life. Like, I don't really like my job. But I need to go somewhere else. But I don't really want to do anything and the Bengals are the same way. Like, oh, we're gonna have to fucking go. Put this on lately. This job opening online. We have to interview people we have to fly people in the logistics are insane. That's just keep Marvin Lewis. I think that's the big issue for Paul Brown is he just doesn't wanna pay for flights coaches in on interviews. We'll have to go to a steakhouse. Yeah. Way. We split that. Right. Yeah. I don't cover that judge. Who can we just get some skyline? Chili Szott work. Can I write off the private jets that I'm sitting out on my taxes? And that's because that's going to be an issue. Yeah. So exactly it's the Bengals Bengals and seventeen times. The Bengals were everyone. Right. The the Bengals and Marvin Lewis are staying together for the kids. Right. And they're they're in a loveless relationship. That's okay. But that's fine. Yeah. And no one expects the Bengals and Marvin Lewis to be like fucking all the time. Making he stuff. They don't fight out loud. They don't fight in public. There's worse things. You know, don't kiss on the lips any more case fine. Speaking kissing lips. Let's go to our Monday reading like that..

"Like, I was people just assume that that's that's who I do you ever go back and look at old video and be like man are pads were ridiculous. This. How big they were. I mean, I learned probably my when I got to Miami. I got shoulder I got smaller shoulder pads. But everything before I can't watch. Yeah. It's like, Texas. It's crazy. They date you. Yeah. It's bad. What what was the thought process with those? I mean when did that when a shoulder pads circuiting small, I don't know? But it definitely was. Thousand sales exact time watching watching. Very very particular. College. And then watching ready moss playing college where he's like the fastest guy on the field. But he looks like he's in shit because his shoulders the size of his jerseys are like mesh pennies that that look like you could get him for maybe fifteen those those data. Yeah. Win was the most fun. You ever had playing football. Good question on the wildcat that year Miami with because Ronnie, and I were really close and we both got to get on the field at the same time. And we're we're winning. It was a lot of fun. Yeah. Were you ever a little jealous? Come on. Let me throw a couple of passes running it to pass all the time. I was only two passes. Yeah. One pass interception. Done. What's on Matthew, mcconaughey? Like, he's intense. Yeah. He's really intense. He spoke with your him. I have not what string that possible played softball together. How is that possible? Because every time I see where it's like, it's like a sports kind of environment. Interesting. Yeah. We that play date. Yeah. We'll come take you out on lake Travis. We invited ourselves to this part. So good idea. Yeah. Harry. We'll I'll get in touch with Matthew say that you already agreed to it. Yeah. I'm that way. He's in we what about Vince young. We've we we've interviewed Vince young. He's pretty funny guy. Yeah. I like V Y. Yeah. That's my God. Do you ever? Did you ever tell you about how he has his game plan is always just chill out in the first half than in the second. Averages goes the fuck off. Yeah. It's so famous. Yeah. I wish he never told anyone he probably still be playing didn't leak that. Yeah. Shit. Well, that's all I had one last question. CK question. Putting promo code take. You get ten dollars off seek purchase promo code take. So we talked about a little earlier. But give me an honest answer is Texas all the way back. I'll talking Ricky Williams back. Have you seen have you seen our quarterback plan? Yeah. Yeah. Eligib- can do stuff do. Underrated because Texas has been off the map my favorite way of saying someone socks by the way, he can do stuff. He sp- special this year. He can win you game. He was special issue. And what games he was special? He was special some since like win win only. He had one one bad game. All you. Okay. One bad game stuff. Yeah. Through only through four picks and two of them came in the second to last game. But you still answer. My question is Texas back. Yes, nationally. Yes. Like people think they they think college football and they're thinking, Alabama LSU, Ohio State USC, Texas. They're not that back there. But they're not. Yeah. They have an opportunity. What you need in the Sugar Bowl to be all the way back. So they're on the precipice that is a huge game. Now, if they beat Georgia, they're officially here. They're all the way ball. They're Fisher Texas back. I do like Tom Herman. I think he's good coach. I think he's a little bit of a baby with the horns down stuff in like complain about. We'll greer. But he's clearly very good coach. Yeah. He's a great coach when he's an underdog. I think in the moment he just was mad that they lost. Right. Which is fine. Just admit that don't don't knows. Who's like, oh, it's a mad for another reason. Like, he's grabbing his, you know, the little butthurt after loss, but care he's emotionally like, Tom LA. Yes. You know? I I agree. I think there is definitely there's a place for that kind of emotion is just afterward. You got to be like, you know, what I was probably wrong. Yeah. I do have last question. So we knew were actually traveling the world during your year off like physically what were you doing? I I've heard that you were like getting really into photography..

"We'll have like a graveyard in the back of this house's. Yeah. Ideas. Like, this guy's ideas. You guys really I'm telling you give you steak in the league in. Yeah. I wanna cash out right now. How much is it worth? How much? Pocket seen that. I've seen a bunch of interviews with you where the people who were talking to heavily imply that they think that you're a little bit crazy. Do you think that we're a little bit crazy? I do do you think we think that year the year little crazy? I hope so. Okay. See I I don't see crazy is a bad thing. No. I don't I think crazy is a good thing. A little bit crazy is a good thing. I think we all need to who has more crazy Esser you. I think you guys do. Well, I've been like in the NFL. And like, you know, I wasn't allowed to be crazy. So I think it stunted my craziness. Oh, how would people try to put a limit on your craziness? Would it just be a coach saying, hey, Ricky, don't talk to that? Reporter. What was that? Like, I think it's a little more subtle like censure from the group. You know, where there's certain things that you're supposed to do certain things. You're not supposed to do. Did. You weren't supposed to wear a helmet when you interview or something. Yeah. That's true. That's true. Did you feel it from your teammates too? When I first got to New Orleans, I felt it. But as they got to know me and saw the way that I worked on the field. They didn't care right. No, right. What do you think that you were not headier time? But I always wonder this with you because it feels like when you when you know, you had the weed and the suspension, and you quit football. And you're like I wanna find myself. There's more to football than there's more to me than just football. People are like come on, dude. You're throwing this whole thing away. Whereas today, I feel like people are a little more open to someone being like, hey, you know, what I'm not just a football player. Yeah. So you think you were little you reaction would be different today. If if like, Ricky Williams career was happening right now for sure no doubt about it. I mean, no doubt about it in in do you? So I will one Stephen a Smith would have gone on awesome. Like, stay off the wheat thing with have. I would've come on. And just confronted him to his face. No one confronts him. Yes. Yeah. Out ask him if he ever smoked weed until he probably needs to. We need to get that get that too. Why we don't have that embrace debate? Should you? Stay off the weed. Did you like we'd more than football at one point? Well, let's let's let's break this down. Let's break this down. Okay. So just I'm not going to answer the question directly yet. Okay. But I will say I'm I'm guessing you guys have smoked weed before. Yes. All right. So have you guys ever played football? Yes. Yes. Okay. So take Madden every sign full now soaking you can do both. Yeah. So you guys, I know it's great. You guys know the experience of what it feels like after you smoke. Yes. Yes. So the feeling that you have after you play football is slightly different one feels better than the other. Okay. So I'll say in the immediate visceral sense of it. I enjoyed smoking more. Okay. But as far as I can't even say that for if I look at what football is done for me in my life, and what cannabis has done for me in my life. I have to give the advantage to canvas. Ooh. So it sounds to me like you like the feeling after you smoke better than the feeling after you play football. But you like the act of playing football better than the act of inhaling smoke. You gotta just need to buy better Bong as the project start taking edibles. Yeah. I like the immediate feeling I don't like to have to wait because every time the way by the time. I feel an edible. I forgot that. I had more First time you time ever. you ever edible. Do were you like this isn't working I need to double up my dose. And then you got way too high and yourself out..

"What was that process like out of college when they're like, hey, we want to represent you. Yeah. So I I was a baseball player a lot of people don't know that. But I played minor league baseball. And so I had a baseball agent, and they are just we're going to be my football agent because we had a good conversation. But that relationship broke down during my senior season at Texas. And I was you know, didn't have an agent and all these agents would come to me, and it just sounded like the same. Oh, spiel, and I didn't want to like, you know, do the same thing. Everyone else was doing and Nome. It was big. And I I like what they were doing. And I I saw an opportunity to do something different jumped all over it was there ever party. You the thought maybe you wanted to play baseball. Yeah. There's a big party really many. Times. So do you think collar Murray, you were just at the Heisman? You have a Heisman vote. You voted for collar Murray? Do you think he's making the right choice playing baseball over football? Hell, yeah. No, no doubt. Just just simply because of you know, the the health the health risks that come with football or or what's the reason, you know, the end there's there's the quarterback position. And I I think it's much diminished. The helpers is much diminished for a great for for quarterback, especially compared to running backs. You know, I just think his size in his skill set. I just think it's a smoother path to baseball. You know, I take Johnny Menzel for for instance, you know, smaller guy who dynamic with his with his feet and can throw the ball. It was hard for him to find a place in the NFL white. I play with a little bit of Miami. Good wasn't as good as Kylie. But again, I think his his body and his skillset he can play baseball forever. Yeah. That's probably more money. Exactly. Right. On-track and baseball like you sign one deal, and you're pretty much set for life. Yeah. Although baseball the grind baseball's. Crazy. But yeah, that's that's what I learned about bass playing every day is hard and you played every summer, right? Yeah. Like while you were in college. Yeah. That's yeah. That's crazy spa. I'm telling you I play with Jimmy Rollins in one thing about Jimmy is he loves to play baseball and to play that you have to love the game to get up and sixty are you drinking that greeny coffee? Method. Yeah. Yeah. They don't have that anymore though. Yeah. Pound that, she definitely gets you located. This is the best fit for five hours. Awesome. I'm so you go from New Orleans you go to Miami. And you played in probably our favorite system are the wildcat. Yes. When it was like, kind of brand new and just kinda come into the NFL was that did Sporanos put that end because of the lack of options yet quarterback or was he just like, I'm gonna do something crazy. Actually, we had Chad Pennington had a good year took us to the play offs. We we started off we hire David Lee who was offense coordinator Arkansas with Felix Jones Darren McFadden, and they had run the wildcat, but he came in. And we were in training cabinet put up on the board. And we kind of looked at each other. And we're like, we're not running this high school shit, you know, but after Owen to you know, he's rethinking things, and you know, we lost our first two games in were playing the patriots up in Foxborough installed it on on Tuesday in in the meetings or Wednesday in the meetings, and we ran into practice, and we set our we'll we'll give it a try, and then what up to Foxborough whipped up on the patriots. And it was in. It was it became a main staple of our off. It was supposed to revolutionize the NFL. And be honest with me here was there ever an option to pass their or is just really run. Right. It was it was a call Cup play. There's never any options. Okay. So would they ever call pass? Yes..

"Like active in coaching at all or more of the mentor side more than mentor side my role right now is head head of player wellness. For me wellness, isn't just you know, taking care of your body, but taking care of your mind. And I think I have here's the other thing a lot of players retired. And they've done other things and they become good at other things. And so bringing those gifts back to offer the league not only their on field experience. But what they've been doing since retired. Okay. Elephant in the room. Are you guys gonna drug test? How's that elephant? I thought the room is Texas back. And we'll and we'll show it against Georgia. Oh house for second. Yeah. Does this offend you? Sure, Texas back is this is this an obscenity when I do torn down is not. And here's what I tell her guys. If you guys unlike don't lose people are being people, they're not going to be putting the cat out of hand. This your Tom Herman is a very sensitive guy. Yeah. He takes. He's a big umbrage taker. Yeah. And so when you when he saw those horns point, but let's let's go back because you didn't answer the questions you guys going to drug test. What of course, not what be more specific drug tests facet. No cannabis. Final taps. No, okay. We'll drunk test for for for PD's, steroids, etc. That's fair. But again for me, here's what we're doing differently. We don't have to go by the old rules, and how people have done it before. We're starting to see now. So we get to take current ideas. Current understandings current beliefs current laws into consideration. And if we had a reason to test for cannabis we would, but we can't we sit around. We can't come up with a reason to test for Canada. I've always thought that the NFL just treats we'd testing as a giant bargaining chip. I don't think they actually care if they're player smoke pot. But if they're going to get rid of that testing, they're gonna get something. That's that's what it's become in the in the going back and forth. If they're going to give that up we're gonna have to give some money, essentially, I wanna talk. So so I'm excited for this. When when you guys gonna sorry twenty twenty twenty twenty okay? Hopefully, I'm still alive. But we'll I mean that seems like forever point twenty twenty. I mean, Alabama's playing Notre Dame twenty twenty eight oh schedule that ahead of. Yeah. Okay. We'll have some hype leading up to it. And we'll we'll keep people engaged in part of the reasons we get to see what plays out with these other leagues. Yeah. No. And again true. We'll learn from their mistakes. Have you thought about having us as coaches, hey, it's open. I mean, I'm more of you. The seat. What'd you guys come commentator game? Yes. Sure absolutely ton. That'd be interesting to me. Okay. Just sign here. Uh-huh. Part of the league. I want the the Hartford team you got it. Yeah. That's glamorous franchise after the wheelers. Yeah. So like, I said we had you on before. But I wanted we didn't really do like a full Ricky Williams talk. And I wanted to a couple of a few minutes of that. "They took some things they made some things better fell into using the big thing for me is if you're going to do more football, I'm always down for more football. How are you going to keep the level of play at a high level? Like the problem with all these leagues is we already have shitty enough quarterbacks in a lot of teams. So now, we're going to even have like unless you wanna sell me on Nathan Peterman. I will watch that. Well, here's the thing though, in the NFL is certain model like you have to be a certain size to play a certain position. And obviously we're not going to be able to compete with the NFL for those kinds of players. But as far as. Getting good athletes and developing them, we think we think we can do in a lot of ways better than the NFL again because former players, and maybe it's our it's our egos thinking, you know, we've been there. We know we know how to. Hello. How are you guys gonna get these players? So I've always thought that league come in. And really disrupt if they offered players out of high school. That's that's that was my main idea when I when I when I stepped in. I said if we're going to do this. I think we need to get players get to players earlier, you know, I went back to school a couple years ago in really broke, my heart. I was sitting in class and a lot of the current players were in class. And I was thinking, you know, they recruit these kids in expect when they compete at a high level on the field. But most of these kids can't even compete at a low level in the classroom. And so I think the model right now is if you're a good football player, and you wouldn't go the NFL that you have to go to college right in college isn't for everyone. So creating another path to to the NFL where guys in come out and start getting paid and taking care of their families right away, and even in even like fine, tune their education, the something that actually interests them that they can be good at instead of trying to go down this traditional road of of a four year university. Yeah. I like that. Are you gonna play? No, I'm done. Sure. I'm done te'o. Gonna put Geos definitely gonna play. He wants to play. He wants because you personally does could play. Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna have to get get back into football shape. Yeah. I'm I'm done. Okay. Yeah. I think I have so much more to offer you know, other places in the league..

"Okay. We now. Welcome on recurring guests, we actually were just saying this before you hopped in the studio it is Ricky Williams Heisman Trophy winner football legend, he's here in-person. Now. Like, I said, we're current guess 'cause you read our horoscopes Ricky let's start with what you're here for. So you're here for the Heisman ceremony. But you also are here because you have a new football league coming out. Yeah. So on Thursday was up in Bristol. When we we announced the freedom football league and something we're working on for over a year. And you know, with all these other leaks coming out we decided it was it was time to make our announcement. So what what exactly is the freedom football league. Like, how's it different than all the other leagues? Like you mentioned. There are Tom new feels like what there's alliance the XFL. There's like a US. Yeah. Thing with the word US, and yeah, there's there's a bunch of coming out ours different for a couple of reasons. I mean, our our main purpose is really to to play. The role of disruptor in. So I'm salt. On the players side. It's dollars exam. We talked about. I mean, we're not we're not coming public with all that stuff. But that's how that's how it all started. It was a bunch of retired players sitting around and table and talking about how we would do things different. How we do things better. I we were just messing around. And then we said, you know, what let's let's do it. And the other big part is is the fan involvement know, we wanted to change the experience for for fans in. So what of our main things is when people buy season tickets. They part of the team. Yeah. So it it'll be like owning owning. It'll be different. It'll be like owning stock. So in the future of the team is successful and sponsorships are coming in. The league is growing fans are going to get a check in the mail. That's all anybody that buys season. Tickets can actually refer to themselves as professional sports team owner. Exactly do we I'm in. Well, I'm already sports Simone. The. Don't don't say the so where do we have at the point where we know where the teams are going to be okay teams where they closest team here is Hartford, okay? On the east coast while so we have a team in Orlando team in Birmingham team in San Antonio a team in Oklahoma City. What kind of places they playing in stadiums. Big staple say stadiums. Yeah. Okay. So you mentioned that you were involved with some other guys that used to plan the league who else's. So the biggest name probably is is Terrel Owens Z. Just kidding. I know Dexter Jackson Simeon rice from those really good Tampa teed up. And then we have a bunch of guys on the on the west coast Byron Chamberlain played tight end for the for the Vikings. And for the for the Broncos. There's a couple of higher name guys who are keeping their name silent until into we pick up more headed steam. I like that owners. They're kind of nervous about about. You know, pushback from the NFL and a lot of the big name guys are still connected with the NFL. And so they want to keep their names, you, obviously, I I would assume you're not nervous about that. But was any like with Teo nervous? I mean, he he has his thing with the NFL to he bucked the hall of fame. So true. He wasn't. He wasn't concerned about it. You know? And it was interesting when this all came up there half the contingency was, you know, screw the NFL. And part of them was like, you know, we don't want to piss them off right at the day. We said we don't need to go up against anyone. Let's do this do our thing. And I think what's going to end up happening. His players from our leaguer probably going go off to the NFL, right and have great careers. And so, but the whole thing is is we just think that we can do better as far as scouting coaching. And understanding what the football experience is actually like instead of you know, the other model of the rich white guys own everything and right and make all the decisions. So I mean, I agree with you the NFL should be welcoming to it. Because when you look at the XFL, even those failed..

"We we've got every situation under control got the playoff machine fired up going full tilt. This thing's going nuts broke the playoff machine. Actually, we have the problem with the playoff machine is it's a classic case of mind. Verse computer because I asked you to run some simulators. Yes, basically the last four hours of our day. Have just been me saying, hey, PF. What happens if this happens this happens, but I got smarter than the computer. And I was like no the computers wrong, and we looked into it. And it was it was wrong Skynet, really fucked up. Right. And we're trying to calculate like how the Steelers could get in over the ravens with the different matchups. We're going to be like the bottom line is it. It's looking like they're like two different scenarios that are likely to play out right in the AFC. Besides that like if I were you I'd be focused more on who you're gonna play like. Yeah. As bears in the first round, right? And we have the classic case of will team sip players will teams, you know, the bears are going. To be playing for possibly the second seat. If the ram somehow lose the forty Niners unlikely, but that is that is on the table. So let's actually start with the AFC because I want to like say our team of the weekend has to be the ravens what they did in Saturday night to San Diego and beating Phil rivers in a super hot chargers team by playing like nineteen forties. Offense is unbelievable. They're just bid you bullyboy all they do. And and she out every single announcer keeps saying this isn't going to last this Kate last like it's blowing their minds. They're just looking at you know, what it's like it's the trick birthday candle. We keep blowing out you're like. Okay. Sure. This candle is extinguished by now. And no Lamar Jackson when he runs that little read option. It's someone's going to be like if he makes the right decision. Right. I read option either he's going to have, you know, a seven yard gain or would whichever one of their three running backs up the middle right and Lamar Jackson does he just lows you death because I feel like all game. It's four five. Yards here. They're like picking his spots. And then he'll get one. He had one where it's like, oh, he cut out. And he's gone. Yeah. I mean, that's all he let's not discount. Joe flacco looming on the sidelines too. Because you have to prepare for that too. Yes. Like what if Lamar gets see ineffective aims are so focused on the fact that you can't run this. Mickey Mouse offense that they're like maybe Lamar is gonna get hurt this game. And so we always have to be ready for flacco to come in and throw four hundred ninety yards and get seven passenger fairness calls. Yes. And just a little side shout that really means nothing, but I really love the attention to detail Lamar Jackson's purple mouth guard. Yeah. I love I like that. I like like you really love this team. I like Mark Ingram's little it's almost like the wax vampire teeth. Yes. Mouthguard he wears sewer. Yeah. I liked that allow too. It's a nice touch by. Lamar jacks. I I still like to charges not selling if we're doing stocks in our situation room. I know it's been a bad week for the market. I'm still hanging onto my charger stock is gonna turn around just like bitcoin comp-. Plea agree. That was a nightmare matchup for the charge. Now, they have to play the ravens again, I think it will happen the exact same way. Because the chargers they have like a decent defense. But they're not the biggest guy. Yeah. They're built to get to the quarterback and the in the ravens just basically bullied them. And their ravens defense is a fantastic defense there and fill rivers. I think he probably lost the MVP battle. He might have on that. He might have. I noticed that. I don't know what took me so long to pick up on Keenan Allen shirts that he wears. He wears the bag under stress. My Larry is he's worked with like a Mr..

"It's time it gets to the NFL Meena Khalil Mack long story Jon Gruden has now jettisoned a punter and the best player on the team walking into Oakland because he must rule with iron fist receiver to please explain to me what is going on in Oakland Good. Morning I don't know what's going on in Oakland but it's not good and, I, based, on the, reaction, from raiders fans I don't know if you saw the raiders put out. A tweet. In which they bragged about getting back getting couple of I and. Didn't what they gave away the responses are really worth checking out the community is disgruntled today at. Least so when I first saw this trade I from the beginning I have felt. That the. Raiders have completely bungled this there were rumors that they. Weren't even talking to them and this was happening at the same time as the MAC negotiations but you heard stories coming out of either the Rams are Donald side part Aaron MAC Donald guys Erin Would it be better Khalil Donald, or, Aaron, MAC Khalil, Donald Ooh Resonated better name Khalil, is but MAC is like a Mack. Truck Football I know so but the Rams side you negotiating there is like they're in the same. Zip code toxic coming out numbers getting leaked nothing right in, Oakland and there were rumors that. They had even spoken since February which She's. Not only run an NFL team okay so finally this news comes. Out and my first reaction is that the raiders are moronic you don't trade away your best play your best. Homegrown player the best player in your entire, team one of the better players in the recent history of the franchise one of the best defensive players in the, NFL one of the few truly valuable lead players, in this league. You don't trade away even what, you, get. But it looked like the bears give them a couple. Of I, and it's a pretty unusual hall and historically guys when you look. At most deals where. To I I've been, conveyed there's been obviously. That Herschel Walker one three I, were. Involved in that and, there's the Cutler deal Ricky Williams usually the side. That gets the, picks wins in the long term history goes with that so so I I I hated the deal I hated that they traded him hated. They treated them now but it seemed like a hall then, about An hour later Adam schefters tweets, that actually the. Bears got back a second they, gave, up. A third but that second knowing the condition the waiter. Raiders could, be quite high so I don't think it's a robbery the bears. And we can talk. About what this means, for them I am. Shocked that the raiders did this, deal. And that they even, gave up a second round pick for it
