"Is covering it VS whistleblower testimony for us from DC and joins us now Hey Jordan what's going on good to be with you yeah Rick Wright said that the country lacks a science based national response to the crown of virus pandemic that's why he says we might be bracing for the darkest winter in modern history he also said the administration ignored his warnings for many weeks that the US needed born in ninety five mass and other critical protective gear he says that lives were lost as a result president came out in tweeted that he doesn't even know who this guy is but but Rick bright says that he was ousted from his position is that possible the president no it doesn't know who is I mean it is possible and that the president you know who Rick bright why is it there obviously are a lot of top officials who work in the government and he wasn't someone who sent directly on his corona virus task force but regardless Rick bright had an instrumental role as the top vaccine official in the government's response and was very much involved in the administration effort even if president trump might have not directly known who he was but you know the president might not be telling the truth there it's hard to say but the president said he did catch part of bright's testimony this morning but he says write to him sounds very much like a disgruntled employee and he doesn't that take any of his criticism seriously now bright says he went to the department of health and Human Services with his worries over a lack of medical supplies and testing units and things like that and that he was just ignored yeah bright says that he warned about N. ninety five mask shortages in particular and that he was told in response that there were no critical shortages in that if there were they would just modify CDC guidelines to make it seem as so that those masks would be reserved for critical health care workers too he says those warnings were just ignored by time and time again do we know the time line on that when he did issue these warnings yet bright said that back in January he was getting word that supply chains were at risk of for these critical mass and and that that's when he really started sounding the alarm but bright said going back years he and other officials have warned about potential shortages in these masks and that their warnings just haven't gone through speaking of time lines he also talked about the time line for vaccine production and availability to can you can you explain what he was talking about yeah so tell public health officials have said in twelve to eighteen months there could be a vaccine so we're looking at kind of the first half of twenty twenty one by that time lines president trump for his part has been even more optimistic than that he said today he still believes they'll be a vaccine before the end of the year and that it could be distributed quickly president trump says because the military could be activated to help in its distribution but Rick bright says all that optimism and maybe a little bit misplaced too bad he doesn't want people getting their hopes up because the year to eighteen month timeline is based on this assumption that everything goes right and Dr bright said it never happens some percent eighties today and the testimony yeah I mean things do get heated up there on Capitol Hill in and today was no exception how was his testimony received well I I think it depends on who you ask Democrats of course were very eager to hear from doctor brain very sympathetic to hear from him and in for his cause Republicans route that you express a lot more skepticism about him and and whether he really was sounding the alarm is as he says whether he really did everything he could behind the scenes are there a lot more sympathetic to this White House and HHS perspective that Rick bright at with someone who just didn't do its job well and he was resigned for that reason on a side note could you talk about the mechanics of actually holding a congressional hearing like this with all of the corona virus you know health recommendations that are out there I saw some people wearing masks and some not yeah still at most members I thought were wearing masks today in DC people are supposed to are mandated to wear masks but you know not everybody is necessarily abiding by that certainly not on Capitol Hill but you did see members you know it exhibiting a little bit more distance between themselves on Capitol Hill but this was an in person hearing we thought we'd seen other hearings this week where they've been conducted almost completely virtually in those cases because people were exposed to people with the corona virus but we're certainly seeing how Capitol Hill is having to adapt to these unusual circumstances in fact just tomorrow we expect the house to take up a vote for proxy voting Democrats want to make it so that the house could I have one member represents him and info on their behalf to conduct business as normal amid the pandemic but Republicans are not on board with that they say that number should be here in Washington and doing the business the American people Jordan celebs thanks so much great job as always thank you all right we come back we'll talk more about what's going on in Washington DC and why the one name that you're going to hear on both sides of the race for president is a name you know well you know it very well Gary I.

"One thousand Katie okay for all one thousand and Leigh Matthews and Katie okay dot com Rick Wright's lever talk about Ronald Reagan a minute ago I love this quote from him we must reject the idea that every time a laws broken society is guilty rather than the law breaker it is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his own actions and that's from Ronald Reagan Rick that ties into what I was saying just a minute ago I think and I don't know if it can be drawn from the school system from social media from video games from I'm not sure what we can focus this down to but the biggest problem facing our society I think today is lack of accountability when I was growing up I I was raised by a single parent my mother but I had my grandpa living right next door and to him credibility was everything he was one of these I handshakes good enough for me if you look me in the eye and tell me you're going to do a job that's good enough for me and nowadays we can't do that I I wouldn't do that with someone let's let's say somebody we came out to to do some work on matters imagine I I handshake would not be good enough for me I would need somebody to sign a binding contract because credibility isn't what it used to be and I don't know if it's because you can say incredible things on the social media site and not be punished for them or if it is because you people are being held accountable in school anymore with grades or in sporting events where people are being given trophies just for showing up I don't know but I think its credibility that is breeding apathy because there is no credibility I say that again I think it is a lack of credibility that is breeding apathy you know the opposite of love is not hate the opposite of love is apathy think about it yourself your high school the girl across the aisle didn't know you existed that was apathy not the girl that hated you and would always you know throw rocks at you and come up and hit you and pitch it now she cared she was trying to get your attention so I think we're having a we have an app at the problem that's brought upon brought about because there is no credibility anymore nobody's held to any standard any longer what is the matter doesn't matter anymore and I don't know why that seems to be the case but that's my observation of a lot of this eight four one thousand Lee Mathews Katie okay that comic on a joint in that Robert says dear government after a forty seven year war on drugs you can't keep drugs off the streets you can't keep drugs out of the elementary school you can't even keep drugs out of the federal prisons yet you want me to disarm myself and trust you that you can keep guns from criminals exactly right Robert and when we had incidents like what happened this weekend it seems to magnify that stance newsradio one thousand KTLK traffic.
