When this guy Rick Wilson from The Lincoln Project was on the air, he was just cursing over and over and he just cursing. He's so angry. They care about their personal profit and their personal power. And they're willing to sell out the country to essentially a foreign totalitarian occupational government so that their paychecks won't bounce. So that they can have still pretend that they control Algeria. That's why I coined the term David Vichy French. That's why when I talk about Russell Moore, I regard him as a stalking horse of the radical left. These people are willing to sell out everything they ever pretended to care about just so they can cling to their membership at the country club and their paycheck.

I mean this is something. This is something if you're a married man if you're happily married man you start out thinking you know. My wife is crazy. The thing she says her crazy then slowly over the years you start to think you know. She's not that crazy. She just sees things a different way than i see them. She's not analytical. She's coming at it in a different way and yet the things she says turned out to be right very frequently so you start to understand their different ways of seeing the world. The broken of people is something that intellectuals don't see they think they're above the broken people. I used to talk about the fact. That obama wasn't evil and people on the right would get furious. Yes ziebel that's not evil. The stick of the Constitution isn't that sometimes these these Democrats these lives. I mean, that's Nicole Wallace, formerly a Republican under the Bush administration, right, But whatever whoever gives you the biggest paycheck, that's really what determines one's politics at MSNBC and other places right wherever the paycheck comes from, What isn't it? Isn't it stunning for two just say So that all can hear so that we all know. Oh, That's right. But there are a lot of lies being told you all the time going into the election that there will be Will be no consequences for whatsoever, and the people who told them in fact, benefited from them and continue to in the Lincoln Project raised $90 million These guys like I mean, how many times have I made fun of Steve Schmidt on this show? Before all this stuff happened. I said he was maybe the dumbest person on TV. But I think it's fair, which I think is true. He's one of the dumbest political analyst you'd find anywhere. Donald Trump basically Hitler mixed with full pot. With Stalin's baby thrown in there all once together. It's just the dumbest most the most sort of shooed Oh, pseudo intellectual, but actually low I Q political analysis you'd find anywhere was from somebody's Lincoln Project people. The whole thing is now blown apart. And I can't have any sympathy for any of them. I mean, putting aside the John we everything. "Michael steele. Welcome back to the podcast. It would not be election day without you here. I'm going to ask you the same question. I always ask you but instead of at the end of doing it at the beginning. Are you still a republican. Absolutely yes even more. So and why. Because i really appreciated the number of republicans who have served inside the administration who recently left the administration to come out and say that this is not us. This is not what republicanism is is not what conservatism is. They agreed to stand with us in the center of the town square to declare our independence of trumpism and our resiliency in fight against it. And i appreciate that. Because i know it's not easy. It's not an easy thing for them to do. So tells me that there is a vibrancy left inside the party. And i think that we will find more and more of that vibrancy in the weeks and months ahead now. Those means won't be a fight. There will be a fight. Trumpism does not leave his host that easily and we know that i've called for political. Ima and i think the party's gonna need one and very happy to administer it so obviously i ask you that question all the time this time. I've asked the question because you've joined the lincoln project which has become you know a hero to people within the democratic party and certainly a lot of people who don't like the president because it has been unsparing in its criticism to put it lightly. So let's talk about the lincoln project and why you decided to go from. Being part of the establishment of the republican party is a former chairman of the republican national committee to joining an outfit. That's doing everything to defeat the standard bearer of the party right now president trump. It wasn't as hard transition as well may think because if you follow any part of my political career in the dc area you realize establishment was not something you would use to describe me out your very own newspaper and i have had bills battles so for me. It wasn't that big a move. Because i've always argued against a lot of the very things that checked off a lot of the then tea party. Now trump kind of conservatism. Because it's not really borne out of anything anchored to some of the core. Things at the party's articulate. And he says this really annoyed annoyance with the system the way it is and so a lot of us have always come spoken to that and saw how it would ravage. The base in many respects transition was not that hard for me to move off of it but it was made even easier. By the fact i watched how family in different the party was to its own existence. How profoundly indifferent it was to its own value system and how profoundly indifferent it was to the men and women who have served honorably and well from president to the door knocker on a campaign carrying that banner raising high that gop flag only to have it pissed on by donald trump and those who enabled him inside the party so for me that moment joining the pirate ship as we like to call it over at the lincoln project was easy because it was hanging out with kindred spirit who understood what this fight was about. This is more than just. Oh trump trump is bad for america. This was there's a lot of stuff that's going on right now. In america that is bad for america and we wanted to show that and speak to it and the party labels did matters. So a susan collins and lindsey graham. We're going to get just as much of a hit as donald trump or stephen miller. So it's important to understand what this is about and certainly what it is not about it is about first and foremost country has always been that and will always be that. And as i think. Steve smith and read jalen and rick wilson and others have noted when we get beyond this cycle which we hope will will result in the election of joe biden then we will begin to dismantle the deconstruction of the administrative state. That was put in place by steve bannon and and ryan's pre-bus on behalf of this president and maybe bury it in salt the earth with it where it's buried so that we don't have to go down this road again and yet here. We are at a moment where the president still has a fifty fifty shot of being re elected president of the united states. I mean from your vantage point just as a political tactician what would it say to you about where we are as a country and who we are as people if president trump is reelected. And that's the core point. I'm glad you raised because at the end of the day. All of the mac nation politics aside this ultimatum about how people see themselves and how people see their future in how people regard the values and the principles in the ideals of a fledgling nation. We are still a fledgling nation. You considered a great nation of the world who've been around so five six times seven times as long as we have who've weather storms far worse than we weathered but you know we have that hit me yet. Knowing that history we still fall into some of those same troops in most same. Trappings and his does speaker lot. Jonathan about how we see ourselves. Bloomberg Comes Up Big with $100M Cash Infusion in Florida
"So this was another big story from over the weekend was the announcement by Mike Bloomberg that he's going to spend at least one hundred, million dollars in the state of Florida to help Joe Biden win the state. This Washington Post story says that Bloomberg made the decision last week after seeing those numbers on Florida in seeing that Oh may be Biden's a little underperforming there. It's a little closer than we thought official. Voting starts on September twenty fourth in Florida. So the need to inject real capital in that state quickly is an urgent need. This is Bloomberg Adviser Kevin Cheeky he continues Mike believes that by investing in Florida, it will allow campaign resources in other democratic resources to be used in other states in particular the state of Pennsylvania. So there was always this fear of, Oh, where's Bloomberg's money? He got to speak at the convention, but he's not gonNA fork any over even after he said, he made this promise to keep his campaign employed in put all this money into help be trump. Personally, I was really never worried by didn't didn't really come after Mike to personally at least for too long also because they were both from New York I'm sure trump gave Bloomberg his fair share of grief during the couple of terms that Mike was the mayor of New York. City. You can tell when Bloomberg speaks whenever he goes on TV his ads were also pretty devastating, but you can just feel the vitriol contempt for Donald Trump Mike. Bloomberg is obviously a big money guy. You know he's a billionaire but even he trust Joe Biden more than Donald Trump So that should really be a warning to everyone and as Rick. Wilson always says Mike Bloomberg has more money in his couch cushions than Donald Trump has at all I think alluding to the fact that Donald Donaldson, shady loans, and he's probably not even a billionaire really when you get down to went off topic but thank goodness that is a breath of fresh air some good news for Joe Biden on the money side to with an even better August and by the way, the Biden campaign pointed out that since Calvin Coolidge in nineteen, twenty four, no Republican has won if they don't win Florida. And this year, it really is all about Florida because of trump doesn't get that one he's got to pick up a couple from either Minnesota Wisconsin Michigan Pennsylvania Arizona in those are looking shaky I mean that's really really generous because he's behind in all of them. So He needs Florida to have any chance and that's a little note to yourself if you're watching. On election night tour as the votes come in the days after in the mail. Well, we're GONNA know pretty quickly because Florida starts counting there's early. So we'll know on election night mostly with the vote is going to be. Oh they're running is always inflected with whatever the sort of post-soviet corruption vibe and it seems to be very much definitional additional trump's orbit rick starting with you I want you and my answer the same question and I hate that. It's an a negative vein about the impeachment in trial. What are you girding for or resigned to girding for Mitch McConnell to choke this thing out as quickly as he can? Is the GOP more united than ever because of the impeachment probe?
"This irregular channel of diplomacy. It's not as outlandish as it could be. Is that correct. It's not as outlander says it could be. I might be irregular but it certainly not outlandish. There's a phrase that pays. That was one argument. The Republican Council tried to make in that effort to defend the president from impeachment. You can judge its effectiveness for yourself with US tonight to talk about all things. Yesterday was Republicans who were in a state of of edgy panic and they were trying to talk faster and louder in hopes of trying to pass the fact that those two witnesses stood on the sat there and laid out a timeline a calendar additional facts additional witnesses. This is this was not a good day for those folks and no matter how many times Jimbo baggins gets up there and dances around like a crazy little leprechaun. Lay out the story because the American public already seems to be in favor of impeachment. They just don't WanNa blow that sort of enthusiasm but let me follow up on that. This is Nikki Haley tonight on CNN on the topic. Uh of Rudy Giuliani. Was it appropriate based on everything you experience in the world of diplomacy for Rudy Giuliani. The president's personal crystal lawyer someone who had no security clearances to be engaged in what's being described as the shadow diplomacy. I had during my time at the United. The nation's I never saw rudy engaged in that way it is best practice if you have a special envoy to handle certain areas and we do that all the time yeah I think they should've named him the special envoy so that everyone within the administration knew what his role was so instead of former mayor. Of New York's special l'envoi envoy Rudy. Giuliani Rick is that the rosiest possible. Reading of the situation Rudy is in question to what is going on. Do you think was Nikki Haley. There are many wasted no time defending him as pressure builds now over over this impeachment inquiry. I think this whole thing is a sham. I can't believe we're talking about impeaching the president based on an accusation based on hearsay. Look Look Democrats wanted to impeach because Rudy Giuliani talked to a couple of Ukrainians and good luck with that. What do you make of this exchange. They understand how to connect with people. They have charisma for days. None none of the current field reaches that level of performance and I think the danger that I've seen coming at the at the Democratic Party for a long time. Now is a lot of them. I'm still believe that this is going to be a referendum about policy. Selections a referendum as all presidents relations are about trump. They are all referendum. All the referendum referendum thought in this election is going to be trump or not trump ex future or wife future. If you want is trump's kicking you in the face until all eternity well well then re elect Donald Trump. If you want to argue about policy your re-electing Donald Trump it's you've got trump hands them right now the opportunity to go after him as a man who is corrupt corrupt who was ineffective and who was who has led this country into a place where the reputation of our president as as as an extortionist and a mercenary when our president tosses tosses out a reference to a civil war right. This is a way to make a referendum on this man what kind the president in this country other than the unless he's Got Jefferson Davis fantasies wants to go out and have their reputation.
