"Rick tittle always goes commando all right. Thank you for that. Fourth of july sunday recognize monday. We'll do a rerun on monday back on to for tuesday the spin rates in baseball. Which is something that we never knew about. We never had the technology for it right but now the enforcement period has begun or about a month into it now so i was looking at some of the data. The spin rate on four seamers last year was two thousand three hundred and seven rounds per minute and the last month. Two thousand two hundred and twenty nine so about eighty less rounds per minute. Sliders was two thousand four hundred forty last year now. Two thousand three hundred ninety eight negligible difference. Virtually the same and on curve. Balls the rounds per minute last year. Two thousand five hundred and thirty nine and now they're at two thousand four hundred fifty six rounds per minute so about a what eighty point difference there. I wanna know who are the people that have looked at every pitch since june third. The scott enforced. Who looked at every pitch and then ran it through their computer or whatever it is and is it enough. when you're throwing a four seam fastball to go from two thousand three hundred seventy two two thousand two hundred twenty nine. I apparently so i i guess but i think a better way to look at. It is just strikeouts strikeouts last year. Twenty three point four percent now during this crackdown. Twenty three point. Five percent strikeouts have gone up one tenth of a percent. How about that hit by pitches have gone down from one point. Two three percent to one point. One eight pitchers have more control. If you wanna talk about strikeouts and hit by pitches walks have gone up three tenths of one percent. Is it really worth it now. But i can tell you strikeouts going up even one tenth it just laughs at this. Crackdown right now. I'm rick tuttle.

Book is and it just. It's always around me just outside the spotlight growing up with eileen heckert and who man as their forwards by mary. Tyler moore because some people will remember luke's mom as playing the am slow character. I'm very tyler moore. Show gets to make out with ed with What's his face. What does facebook ads and at also she won the oscar. Oh yeah but applies the free Say one of my favorite marilyn monroe. Sh she was costa with marilyn monroe in bus stop and But the way you've kept well to keep alive. I mean she's so vibrant but luke. I'm just so glad to talk to you. So i'm going on and on problems. Always play honey. So what's up with you. What do you. What do you work on right. I'm very excited about mama tea. My new clay actually getting a lot of attention and the came about. John is every time my mother would talk about relevant monroe and her experiences on bus stop. She would burst into tears. And i knew that was a deep connection between maryland and her and it was something she really didn't like to talk about so i did. A lot of our third did a lot of digging. And basically i came up with a lot of really fascinating stuff. It maryland shop bus stop. She had gone to europe and studied with lee strasberg. And she'd be the poster child for what was known at the time method acting to steal everything organically and since Other was playing maryland. best friend wasn't determine. Does the poster child for domestic ache. My mother her best friend. And i was like okay. The stolid glomming onto me won't leave me alone that making me very uncomfortable but over pine over the course of shooting they developed this very intense burned because they were both adopted and so neither of them for all the achieved ever really felt that they were wanted or that they deserve the play table and they basically the expression goes they bargain through their wounds they setup ever feeling wanted or we love and happiness i i saw clay about this about their relationship ultimately how relationship how it impacted me and how those are mother brought out in beverly brought out in my mother. 'cause you'll able to unable to give me certain things that i needed this a son not to say doing a wonderful mother because she was it really is a multi generational play. I sort of use my mother's relationship with barreling two things about our relationship in her. Finally so you know. The fella guy had deeply personal and and extremely moved by. I'm just really thrilled with the recession. It's getting so far. you know. Marijuana changed a lot of our lives so she was an open wound. the idea of Of sadness yet joy because she was his great comedic actress as well. So it's great. I mean so. I'd be most interested. "Rick tittle. U-turn broke my heart. But i still take you back. You hell fine. Better get in line. We got major league baseball going on right now to get you cups speed with a few scores here giants at reds as they go on to the fifth inning giants tend to want. Apparently i've just been told by dominic that darren rough needs a triple for the Cycle maybe the slowest guy on the team. But hey it went on the gap. Run your ass. J cronin worth of the padres hidden inside the park home. Run in san diego yesterday. And i gotta say i like the guy he's been on. The show is an all star. He's got a crazy beard which i asked him about. And that's Charlie blackmon after hit the wall. He jogged after it because he knew the guy wouldn't be going home and he's like oh damn he's going home looks charlie blackman's a great defensive player but i gotta say he definitely dog did on that one. All right in the top of the six the raise lead the orioles and baltimore afford a one. Top to Rangers hosting yankees no score just underway top of the first On the north side and Nationals lead the cubs one to nothing one other Are two more day games today. Astros at as that'll be the information. Urban versus garcia and The twinkies take on the angels to Disappointing teams there. The that'll be anaheim twins. Fourteen and twenty seven angels eighteen and twenty four and now know mike trout. Four six to eight weeks at ain't good one. Eight hundred seven play. I just little story from basketball here. I told you a of weeks ago. That the university of hotbed which finally got to the ncaa tournament for the first time. Ever and that Coach john gallagher. What he's done with the program they have blah blah blah and apparently as he was packing his suitcase in his hotel room. True story hartford president and the university of of region said just to let you know were moving to division three and he said. I'm sorry i heard you wrong. You're going to move into the third floor. No no we're going to division three or division one right now. Going to division two would be a disaster. Can i tell you some division. Three football doesn't get a lot of love. But if you get a guy in the nfl you go. That's a surprise division to doesn't get a lot of love but you get a division two guy too tall jones. He was the first ever number one overall pick was division too. But i think jared vel deer and happens every once in a while you know what. I'm saying Girl happens in baseball too but when it comes to division two college basketball that is scumbags city. Now offense no it's just there's no respect for it because even universities that are like the sixth floor of an office building has a d. One team there are over one hundred. There are way more d. one basketball teams and football teams. Obviously cloudy schools. Don't even have football teams like the old coast conference. Santa clara saint. Mary's usf all those football teams are gone. The basketball teams are still d. One so to. I mean i i look at san jose state like. Why don't they have a great team. I don't know to move to division three in basketball. I don't think i've ever even heard of division. Three basketball team because division to basketball is so in the hinterlands. The sticks the woods. It's basically a death penalty. It's basically like saying you're just going to get walk on from the chemistry department. Rick tuttle might be the power forward at six to if we go to division three and so this guy john gallagher. The head coach said it shocked me to say we were punched in the gut would be an understatement and he has spent the time since then trying to get this to not happen. He said he sat on the bed in his hotel room. And he didn't understand that fresh after qualifying for the first tournament. Ever and actually having a first-half lead against a one seed. Who would win it. All that they were done and rare is the case when a school wall leaves division one for division three and that has never happened for a team. That's been in march madness..

charlie blackman san diego Rick tuttle sixth floor Charlie blackmon jared vel deer john gallagher third floor yesterday darren eighteen mike trout san jose dominic first tournament Rangers first six Mary eight weeks

"Family and friends right and so in the in the sort of digital yacht club age We've really tried to Mimic that as closely as possible by having things like monthly meet ups where people can dial in. Just like our dial into a friend's birthday party or something like that Of course you know. We are very much you know have to keep things very very structured And so we spend time talking about called updates and what's happening on the racing calendar and when the next marine dj these will cost. It's happening and older things. Are you know the marine diesel was completely virtual as well But we also try and create space for people to just talk to each other casually and You know off each other what's going on what's happening in your life. You know where you weren't able to go cruising in the south pacific this year. What have you been since then So you know that's been great google groups as being an interesting one as well Being able to create space for people to ask questions like you know locally in alameda. Who's your go to marine surveyor And so it's been great to that develop and grow and continue to get engagement from people both in alameda and now because we're online From well beyond you know now you know of a sudden you can be in washington or you can be in mexico and you can join a yacht club and take part in those conversations to rick tuttle. Lyle and roz roz rosza. My hearing a little down under in your accent there. I gotta tell you i gave it away. Well you know. I'll put it this playoff to be america's cup You know i think the trimmings of definitely proven themselves far sailing goes But yeah you gotta you're right. You hit the nail on the head. I'm from sydney australia now. Living in alameda. Got you one more quick. Do you know roz or karen. One of my favorite restaurants in oakland is called broadside it's right there on the estuary end brooklyn basin and it's a former yacht club and it's now a restaurant so there's another yacht club that that went away you know. Do either of you know what yacht club that was. Oh my goodness was that metropolitan I'm just trying to think because we have had. You know historically a little. Bit of turnover. I i did hear about one metropolitan but then again. I also know that. I believe oakland yacht club had aside on the oakland side initially and then You know then made some move at some point to alameda. So i'm not really sure what that site is particular but i will doubt broadside a we have actually had member lunches there because the space is fantastic and they still have guessed what soapy which is phenomenal. So people on the alameda. You larry right yes well. I don't know the answer to that. Was far as which which location what what what it was for me because i'm neither metraplate when we could go with that. I think they'll about oakland. Changing sides clinton quite a bit about that because the oakland the oakland yacht club Basically went moved over to alameda so they're in elevated but they're called the oakland yacht club so but okay. Okay actually oakland dot com really served a very important of you know Function for the relationship between all of the yachting community and the the coast guard and and i attended an event of the oh could not clubland accommodate the rear admiral for the coast guard of all the pacific coast from canada on on down. Almost mexico basically came into his office. And that's kind of an opportunity for the coast guard officers to the commodores of all the different Clubs of the pacific association and be able to communicate and establish relationships which really helps drive out accidental death because goes yacht clubs. Also serve a function of helping to educate the boat owners. Who are you or people who are going out and crawling on votes with racier or otherwise to what safety practices are so you know that it's not just social function but also a safety function. That yacht club served. I've you have things that you do with the ability the coast guard and other things to help encourage your members on safety practices. You know what's so. We haven't been doing that actively In the last year but previously we had a really really great. We hosted the sea scouts So you know similar similar kind of group but with the younger demographic but You know the truth be told. Is that You know we have coast guard island just across from alameda marina which is still are sort of virtual racing home where we still host. I'll raises and whatnot And then they've tactic neighbors they really really are Look i honestly say that You know with the hillary they do the dot walker's program which I really feel like in the post. Pandemic world Really should get a lot more attention because as far as boater safety goes You know it's it's you know it's great being able to put up flyers and things but Actually having like people on the dock which is cooked. Hillary does like people on the dock that go around and do safety education on. The dog is awesome. "I'm so disgusted by re tittle. That i find him very intoxicating. Thank you welcome back to the show still to come in the next two hours We have sebastian. Joseph day in about fifteen minutes from the rams Sharad blakely nba writer and podcastone actor. Harry shum that's on the second hour in the third hour. Phil rosenthal from netflix. Somebody feed phil watch that Emails rick at sports byline dot com. This one i appreciate someone asking. My opinion has nothing to do with sports. But this one's from scott it says. Rick what do you think about robert. E lee statue being removed from us capital. My first of all whether a statue was up or not affects me and in no way whatsoever I understand why someone was like. Would you want a statue of someone who i mean you can look at robert e lee someone who is loyal to his state remember. He was asked by lincoln to run the united states military. And you know. He was superintendent at west point. He was the most brilliant in america and he said. I cannot draw my sword against my home state. you could say well. He was just defending his homeland. Be will say now. He exacerbated the entire system of enslaving human beings on this continent So i don't care if his statues and they're not go ahead and take it out. I exactly where that is. It's in that hall. Where every state. It's a statue. I believe the the california statutes mickey rooney now. I made that a john c. freemont. I do remember the at trafalgar square. There was a statue of george washington. And i thought that's like us putting up a statue of coaching men and i asked my friend Who american i said. Why do you think there's a george washington statute here and he goes. That's just proof that england is rv. Word and i go okay. That's one way of putting it anyway. Thanks for the question. i think i'm rick tuttle. We'll take a quick break.
