"Rick tittle things. There's a direct correlation between dogs and lightning. Welcome back to the sheriff. John wall with you all over america and the world on american forces radio network as well and we're quite happy to bring in filmmaker dash shaw. He has attracted and written. A new animated thriller called cryptos zoo which is out today on demand and in theaters as well. From magnolia. pictures dash welcome to the program. The first thing i notice about this is that once again as you did with my entire high school singing into the sea you have got some big names in hollywood who are doing the voices. How what what's your hookup. How do you know all these people think. Yeah thanks so much for saying that. I mean it's not that i know them. I you know often. I'm just showing them a section of the movie lake bell. We kind of had ten minutes of the hippies in the woods we could show her and the script. And it's i'm i'm as flabbergasted and and you great pool as you are eight hit the the words that sounds really good I was a hippie in the woods. Yeah and my inherent so yeah right. Nothing wrong with that. I was thinking when i was going to interview. I was just down at the academy museum down in la next month and they have this incredible. I'm please forgive me if i'm not pronouncing it right. Hey hail miyazaki Exhibit is huge room and this huge book. And all this stuff about him. I you inspired by people like that. Oh totally i mean. Miyazaki was one is one of my absolute favorites. Yeah you know magic nation. You know and often when i watch a movie or a book. I'm kind of one of my criteria is the force of this person's imagination. How powerful is their imagination. You know and and talkies. Like william blaker. Murray sendak is like visionary artist You gotta go down to that museum. They dedicated so much damn now. This film has already won awards. It won award here in. Sf film festival at won an award at sundance. It's been in the berlin film festival as well and for people who don't know. This is about crypto zookeepers and bringing in some fantastical mythological creatures. Can you tell us how this all came together in your head dash. Yeah i was thinking. One of the very first thoughts was sort of like drawing as their only way of seeing imaginary beings. They can't be photographed. You know sort of draw like drawing kind of doodle drawing can be a direct circuit to the imaginary world. That was one part of it. And also i make these movies with my wife. Jane and jane had an all women's dungeons and dragons group then and so the idea of making something with all these creatures like she painted most of the crypt in the movie. That you know that would should be psyched to do that. That would be fun. So the first thing was like making awesome mythological creature animated movie What would be in your opinion like if you had to show you know. You talked about showing Lake bell if someone said hey You know we were thinking about giving you distribution and as we said you got great distribution magnolia but what would be like maybe the five minutes that you think kind of encapsulates. The best part of the film center of the movie has these These three women that all work at a crypto zoo. And they're all kind of trying they'll have different reasons why they think this zoo would be a good idea. And it's it's there's a cliff that it went online when around when it premiered at the berlin all a. I think it's youtube so they're kind of going through the park because the park is kind of. I think the movies kind of like jurassic park and that you know that it's gonna fail like at the before you probably even start the movie. You just see the poster just know. This movie is going to be how this park doesn't work out and those who is like that too. It's we're gonna see the fall of this kind of misguided attempt to kind of Introducing these kind of radical imaginary beings to the public So i think. I think when they're kind of getting a tour of the park it's fair That would be a good clip. Don't hate me for asking. There's put any of these Mythological imaginary animals on that animals creatures. Are they cute and cuddly. Any of some of them probably.

"Rick tittle is a majestic stallion. Thanks for that couple of minutes left in our number two three hour three wide. Open for your calls one. Eight hundred eight seven eight play going back to the draft one of my favorite names. He's supposed to go in the mid. Twenty s is. Max muncie thousand. Oaks high school shortstop. Yeah same name so. He says he wants people to call him. Maxwell muncie also says. I'm going to the university of arkansas on draft me. You know who's going to draft him. The as you know how i know that because they drafted the other guy named max muncie at baylor who i once sat down with at a fantastic guy the as when they cut him. I don't regret that because he was pretty useless. The poor guy. And i'm happy for him to reinvent himself into an all star But yeah maxwell. Muncie says don't draft me. That's odd. Max muncie my friend Who i knew growing up with tried to be a standup comedian in the late eighties. He the chinese guy chinese-american. His name was bill maher a. Ar and it was right when bill. Marr ahe ahera was coming up and so he had to start going by william and it never worked. He wasn't that good as community buses heart for triumph. But i'm as i can. "Rick tittle always goes commando all right. Thank you for that. Fourth of july sunday recognize monday. We'll do a rerun on monday back on to for tuesday. You know the spin rates in baseball. Which is something that we never knew about. We never had the technology for it right but now the enforcement period has begun or about a month into it now so i was looking at some of the data. The spin rate on four seamers last year was two thousand. Three hundred seven rounds per minute in the last month. Two thousand two hundred and twenty nine so about eighty less rounds per minute. Sliders was two thousand four hundred and forty last year now. Two thousand three hundred ninety eight negligible difference. Virtually the same and on curve. Balls the rounds per minute last year. Two thousand five hundred thirty nine and now they're at two thousand four hundred and fifty six rounds per minute so about a what eighty point difference there. I want to know who are the people that i've looked at every pitch since june third when this got enforced who looked at every pitch and then ran it through their computer or whatever it is and is it. Enough when you're throwing a four seam fastball to go from two thousand three hundred and seven to two thousand two hundred and twenty nine. I apparently so i guess but i think a better way to look at it is just strikeouts strikeouts last year. Twenty three point four percent now during this crackdown. Twenty three point. Five percent strikeouts have gone up one tenth of a percent. How about that hit by pitches have gone down from one point. Two three percent to one point. One eight pitchers have more control. If you wanna talk about strikeouts and hit by pitches walks have gone up three tenths of one percent. Is it really worth it now. But i can tell you strikeouts going up even one tenth. It just laughs at this. Crackdown right now. I'm at.

"Rick tittle is a majestic stallion doubt in your voice only about Four or five minutes left in extra time between spain and switzerland still at one nil getting closer to penalty kicks and As the Their spa spain playing with the man advantage. Ten men for fights and Zoema their goalie heroic so far We'll keep you updated One eight hundred eight seven eight play. What do you do when you have first round. Picks in the nba. Well a lot of times if you're not picking near the top and they're really not gonna do much. I mean the nba draft has used to be fifteen rounds. I went to like seven five and now the nba draft his simply two rounds in the second round. You don't even get a contract for sure but if you look at the playoffs right now devon booker trae young andrea aiden. These young guys you think. Wow who in this draft can be like that cade cunningham. Evan mobely jalen. Green jalen sucks because of that quality of those four guys. We have more rumors going on than ever when it comes to that. And one of those teams of course are my warriors. Because the warriors if everyone's healthy basically staff and clay and clay's miss two seasons andrey and mr Wiggins if he's still around that they think that they cannot just be a playoff team but a contend for a championship and they have lottery picks at seven and at fourteen and last year they pick number two overall and took james wiseman now according to the athletic something we talked about a couple of days ago there was a rumor of the number seven pick and wiseman to get pascal ceac him but then hearing other. No that'd be wiggins too because you have to make the money match up so we also heard about the satisfaction with damian lillard in portland that to me. Can you play three guys like that. Even a player like ben simmons could be available. Do you wanna bring a guy like that. So the warriors are heavily involved in these rumors but the thing i think that's interesting for the rockets is what they're going to do at to some ears. You just have to guys on the draft. And you don't know who to take sort of like the peyton manning ryan leaf thing. Believe it or not. Or like greg oden and kevin durant who we're going gonna take some people even thought there was like between zion and jam rant and now it was i on but with cunningham as the consensus number one. The rockets are gonna pick between evan mobely and one of the jails and apparently jalen green is supposed to be the guy and jalen green is a fantastic and hit a strong season with the g. League ignite mobely is one of the most tantalizing big-name prospects in years. Who really fits into the way big work in the nba right now. Which in other words not just standard into the hoop and be a protector and get rebounds so houston could very well. Entice cleveland to send it an asset. So that cleveland ca. Move up to two and get their guy. Isn't that interesting and move back one now. That would only work. If they're going to draft mobely and they knew that they were going to drop globally right so a lot of these are just some smokescreens going on right now but what the raptors at four do they go all in with. Let's win now. Do they start the rebuild or they neither one you know if you think if you draft jalen suggs at three. Does he help them win. A title next year. i don't know. Does he help in the future. Absolutely but if they go on the wind mouth now mode then you keep lowry. Vanfleet siaka m- on a nobody. Gary trent Trent and then maybe you tried the fourth pick for an established vet. Guess what they're not gonna do that. There's no frigging way. If i'm the magic i take jalen. That's at four. And i'm hoping it sucks because as i've said before to me suggs would be my number. One overall pick huge for his position. Strong talented courageous really really like jalen sucks. But then you get to the knicks. The people are talking about. But they're at nineteen and twenty one and the knicks really overachieved. This year they got the number four seed in the east but then things get complicated. Do they resign. Derrick rose and try and run this back again or do they build for the future. I think eric grows would come on the cheap. So i don't think that would be a decision one way or another that would affect anything but right now with nineteen and twenty one. Those guys aren't gonna help you win this year. Theoretically so you could throw those into sweeteners. And you kid trade for guys who could help out with barrett and robinson and some of these other guys quickly but with randall. Do you add in a bona fide star with that trade luke. Nineteen and twenty one. You're just better off taken whoever's there and hope that they're good. Because i don't think you're gonna get a big return. But i mentioned cleveland at three. And as i said that the cavs will have either Jalen if they want and the thing is is that the one thing that they really don't need is backward with garland and sexton. This is why people think that they would do anything to get their hands on mobely by. Let's say another team lower down the lottery has to have green and is gonna trade everything to get up to three. Would the cavs do it. I can tell you right now. If i'm bob myers i offer seven and fourteen for three cleveland's not that stupid to do it. I'd even throw in wiggins. I'd give you wiggins seven and fourteen to get green or suggs absolutely without even thinking about it or asking lake been guber. It's just to it.

The empire who just seems to be always wrong and major league baseball doesn't give a damn wrong. I dislike the fact too that. He's he's like this like a mayor. You have to resign good last night. He threw out. Three members of the royals was say Play where the starting pitcher brady singer turn through the second try to get. The runner. runner comes back safe. Nobody did anything and all of a sudden has goes bach. Runners like it goes to third. Mike metheny the skipper comes out screaming and his face went back the dugout but then cal eldred. Who's a big fuss. When you like six five to eighty. He comes out because he gets thrown out of the dugout. So now he's screaming in his face he leaves and then mike metheny gets thrown out and then the acting manager was actually pedro grief. All he came on out to get the the remove singer singer started walking off the man he started saying something and so then he got thrown out a couple of things here remember angel hernandez just last game. "Rick tittle is a majestic stallion. All right thank you for that and Making headlines in the ranks of college basketball not even in the ncaa. A there is a school in virginia. Called bluefield college and They forfeited a basketball game after players were suspended for kneeling during the national anthem. And this was yesterday The school president david olive reveal that he told the players that they have stopped kneeling. The players refused and then all of made the decision to suspend any player. That knelt which happened last night against reinhardt university. All of said the basis for my decision stem from my own awareness of how kneeling is perceived by some in our country. And i did not think a number of our alumni friends and donors are the college would view the act of kneeling during the anthem. In a positive way. Earth's trump would say fire to the so all of spoke with The players and the a d Todd tonja walker about it and even after all that he still made the decision to suspend the players Then he found out that they had been kneeling all along and he got even more mad and so the bluefield college players Ignored him and all of went on to say quote. I i told them that. Their intended message and bringing awareness of racial injustices being diluted or completely lost because some saw their active kneeling as disrespectful to the flag. Our country into our veterans. In my opinion they're message was not being heard and he also said these players will be facing consequences. There you go. it's a private school. They can do what they want and the players can also do what they want. But i might not be students there anymore. All right what ears. It twenty twenty.
