I mean that 92 my are split with 90 MPH fastball, you know, and we just had a really good fit The staff that blended together everybody what the role was We had to close is myself or else we were both. We were both closures and days that went up being both starters. So then we got Rick Russell and I'll never forget. We're in which a stadium play it play in 1987. And and, uh and I wrote, it comes to I mean, look at Listen. Ask your question. You give me an honest answer. I said, Yeah. What is it? If I get Rick Russell, do I win the pennant? Not there. You get Rick Russia will win the pennant. Wow. Cool, prayed for, but they traded for the next day They treated Jeff Robinson. To Pittsburgh for Rick and And we wouldn't dependent uh because they needed another starting pitcher and Uh, You know the other thing about that? 80 17. The lineup we had was just awesome. You know, we lost. We lost the ST Louis called John Peter beat us one to nothing but You know, The biggest thing was that Minnesota window world seriously because they had a bunch of all brides against ST Louis. Our team got homework, whips Minnesota. We could hit home runs and hack man that we had a great series and hit a bunch of home runs one flat down. I mean, it was. It was a great year. We're going to take a quick break with Don Robinson on extra innings and bring it right back to you and KNBR, the sports leader. From the mound to the Mike. "The 1989 All Star game and the way things kicked off that that legendary night when Ronald Reagan was in the booth with Vin Scully and Bo Jackson took to back And as Bo Jackson comes up, we talked about Ozzie Smith and you were in a cardinal uniform, and Jackson wears baseball and football and you did football. Yes, played the Gipper. But I also played for real in a much earlier time to that bow down there. That's a pretty interesting hobby he has for his vacation. When baseball ends, he winds up Playing well playing football. I just don't know if there's ever done with anyone doing a remarkable and look at that one ball, Jackson says. How long? Ooh mm six months ago. And Rick Russia is greeted on the first pitch. Tipo Jackson almost hit it out of state Perfect. That's going to set it up pretty interesting for him to the end of the season when he goes back to the Los Angeles Raiders again when you're the board up on your own radio show, Raiders board up Arts you can drop in the former president, United States shouting out your football team. What a moment and the reason I bring it. Bring it up his last night. I tweeted out that I don't like manufactured excitement. I want the real deal. That was an authentic moment. On on baseball's biggest stage, The Midsummer Classic Bo Jackson the first pitch of the game, Ronald Reagan and Vince Scully on the call. It doesn't get more Americana than that,.

"Must growth can't get past the fifth inning. Darvish has been terrific. Weathers is not the same pitch tree was earlier in the year before he had the arm injury. They need a starting pitcher, and they're going to probably go out and I think they know it because they've got a good offense. And they've got the most exciting player in the league and Totti's Machado and the money is on the line. I think he'll he'll come through, but they're going to need a couple of starting pitchers, so I think the Giants are in decent shape. I really do when you look at the competition. And I think that's the focus of what I'm going to say this weekend. What I'm going to say heading into the break and after the break, let's see what the rest of the league can do. And then let's react to that. It's so funny with the Padres You mentioned the meeting. Some starters. That's got to be frustrating for their front office. They've made trades for three starters over the last season. They went and got Mike Clevinger. Then he misses this entire season. They trade for Blake Snell. He hasn't been as advertised, at least to this point. And then as you mentioned you, Darvish, who's been fantastic, but they thought they were also Said. I think they thought they had their rotation. They have their lineup, and it shows you what the 60 game season didn't show us. It's a war of attrition. It's a marathon. It's not a sprint, so they've got an uphill battle in the second half, But I can't let you go. Marty without talking would have an All Star game. It's one of my favorite events every year. I'm a baseball junkie, You know that I love baseball history, but the All Star Game for me. I love that It's on the stage of its own. It's on a Tuesday night where nothing else is going on in the sports world. Except for the All Star game. It's just always been one of the special nights for me your all Star game memories. Your thoughts about the All Star game. I think number one for me is that the fact that it doesn't count that it doesn't determine home field of the World Series is a wind from here on out, But what do you think about the All Star game when when it comes to mind? Well, it's still fun. The baseball All Star game is the only All Star game that is actually a competition. So I think you start from that and you just love to see And I know they're going to have these sterile uniforms. This year, the first All Star game in 1933. The National League did the same thing. It only lasted one year, and then they started wearing the uniforms of the individual teams. But the introductions are fun. The matchups are kind of fun. It's just a good evening. It's a feel good evening for baseball. And you're going to get to see the stars of baseball on the field in a game that's actually a game. It's not the NFL Pro Bowl with no blitzing. It's not the NBA with, you know, just dunk after dunk after dunk, it's an actual baseball game. And they have fun with it. So I think it's terrific. My memories of the All Star game really saw a lot that I've read about. Uh, you know the Carl Hubbell striking five out in a row, Right? Right in 1934, You know if Ruth and Garrigan, Fox and Simmons and Cronin, Fernando and Gooden in San Francisco in 1984, striking out six in a row between them. Willie Mays taking over the All Star game, and as Willie is totally before Austin would come up to him and say will help me with the lineup, and Willie would say, All right, I'm first Erin, Second Clementi's third and do what else? Whatever you want for the rest. I don't care. It doesn't matter. And that, you know, and that's the way they approached it each euro with his explosive, you know, speech right to the American League. He's the last guy to talk. Uh and he would say, if they national league you know something like that, and they'd go nuts and running out of the clubhouse. The league presidents used to come in and, you know, make arguments. And you know, the All Star game is just, uh It has so many injuries in it, Uh, Ted Williams fracturing an elbow in 1950. You had dizzy Dean getting hit on the on the toe by a line drive in the late thirties. That Effectively ended his career You've got so many Fosse and Pete Rose is one that comes to the rose A very good absolutely. Ray was going to be one of the great young catchers in the American League until Till Pete Rose separated his shoulders. So you have you know you have such a good history. Late inning home runs by Stan Museo Red shadings. You know the first African American players to play in the All Star Game in 1949 with Big Don Newcombe and Jackie and Campanella in Brooklyn. What that must have been like that day to be part of that to see that. You know you could go back Tony Perez hitting the home run in the 15th inning in Anaheim. Bo Jackson hitting the home run off Rick Russia, 1989 while Ronald Reagan was on the air with Vin Scully. You had that to to fall back on. There's just so many that go back and forth. The bonds getting robbed is Torii Hunter. I think the home run. I think that was the year of the Thai, wasn't it? That's the Milwaukee you know, and he lifts him up and you know and goes up. You have John Kruk and Randy Johnson. Yeah, reminded me of, you know, Norm cash going up there with a table leg trying to hit Bob Gibson. You know that sort of thing. So it has so many moments that other sports don't have. Yeah, I challenge anyone to give me highlight moment of an NBA All Star game or an NFL game, But with baseball, we can take every one of these games and go back and find some highlight moments and There are issues now The ground doesn't want to go. Caray is not going. This was a big deal. Hank Greenberg wasn't played one year Joe McCarthy didn't play him and he said, You know, I'm not coming and he said, I'm going to say goodbye to the Oster game didn't show up the next year. Bob Feller didn't want to pitch a couple of years and there were big issues and around the country and basically you've got to play. That's what a big deal it was, and we're going to see a lot of players now opting out of the game, so To answer your question. It's really a great question because there's just so much should we love about baseball, and it goes back to the first home run. Ever hit in 1933 by Babe Ruth. Of course. Who else would The All Star game was put together because of the Chicago world's fair that they wanted to make a big deal about it. The owners didn't want it. They were afraid of injury. They said. Gee, if we do this in Chicago, other cities are going to want it. There's been elections of how players are elected in the fifties, the Cincinnati Reds sent in a billion votes. You know a million votes for their whole team, and they all made the team to start and Warren jealous, said No, I'm sorry. We can't do that. And they put the regular you know, National League team out there so There's so many great stories about the All Star game that.

Randy Johnson Ted Williams Ronald Reagan John Kruk Mike Clevinger Vin Scully Bob Gibson Bob Feller Tony Perez Ruth Hank Greenberg Blake Snell Jackie Bo Jackson Joe McCarthy Fernando Anaheim Torii Hunter 1984 Pete Rose

"But once he locked it in, um you know he kind of cruise through those innings and got game to the pen and in pretty good hands, so I agree with you even Johnny coming off coming off the aisle on Sunday. You know, sometimes you gotta tip your cap to the opposition. You know, Couple homers to a really good offensive team, but I thought he threw the ball welling is up to 94 yet good life on his pitches. Man. If he goes out there with that stuff every fifth day is gonna have a lot of successes we've seen. So the rotations really carried the team. Um, you know, with their performance and You know, it's cool to see the enthusiasm of these guys in the dugout to. I mean, Alex would kind of, you know, banging the rail in in the dugout, kinda willing the team through the last six hours yesterday so that their leadership has been huge, And obviously the performance really carried us. I want to talk about the temple because they have heard a lot of people talk about that. The tempo of the Stafford now Gabe talked about it a couple of nights ago. Getting up there and pitching just getting a tempo, And I love that because I think in terms of basketball, I just think when you play with tempo, everything's a little more, Chris guys, they're a little more in tune. And I'm not saying there are times to slow things down a little bit and and upset the rhythm of the game when things we are going your way, But I just think that I think that's great. I'm just wondering how much you think that is help the guys and And where they all accepting of it were did all these guys worked pretty fast anyway? Was it something you had to say? Look, I know this may be isn't your pace, but I think this will help. You know, we talked a lot in spring training. Um, you know the front office coaching staff. There is about winning time of possession every game, which is not something you really hear about in baseball, But we just started thinking. We want pictures that attacked the strike zone that have quick innings that little strikes. And we don't want hitters that air grinding out at that. I mean, I love those half innings where you get three or four shots of the opposing manager and his dugout like war where we gonna get out of the city. You know, even if you don't score run, just seeing the stress of the opposing managers face that he's like Do these every one of these guys having a 70 pitch at that, You know, that's what we want. And the pictures really? And drive that by having success. I mean, you can pitch fast, but if you're not getting out, it's still gonna be a long inning. So I mean and I love you know again, not to keep bringing up, Alex would but You know this whole thing he has of being on the top step ready to go when the happening is over. That's new. I didn't remember that from the L a days, but I think it just shows he wants to kind of take the attack to the opposition. He's throwing a lot of strikes. He's working really quickly, and I think so, that is contagious. So you know, both as an offensive unit with the quality of the basket we're having, and on the pitching side, just emphasizing strike throwing having quick innings. We're seeing some of that. Play out and you know, over the course of the season in baseball, you know, our belief is If you win time of possession, you're gonna win a lot of games. It's a great point. I mean, it's demoralizing to the opposition to see you know, your half innings go on and on and on, and you can't ever get back to the dugout. And you're not playing Chris defense because you can't get back to the dugout and then your innings go quickly because the opposing pitchers like you know Rick Russia in his prime, and he gets it. He throws it. He gets it. He throws it. And also you had those two things together. Then you had to talk him into this lineup. He's kind of the same kind of guy works counts. He's a lot of pitches and adjust your strength becomes more pronounced. Um, let's talk to life for a second because Think July is going to be an interesting time for you because it's like you've done a great job to this point putting this thing together, and yet it could be tough to decide either way in July. You got a bunch of guys who are at the end of the deal and will be harder for you to sell of the veterans away or will be harder for you to part part with a prospector, too. To add to this thing in July. And can you envision both scenarios at this point? Well, I saw your tweet later. So I was ready for this question Made. You tipped your pitch, Larry. Come on, man. Come on. Look at that. The ambush? Yeah, my arm angle. All right, there it is. On the rewind. Hunter. Pence for anxiety, Really good stuff coming up next. Some final thoughts, including It's not just the Giants winning that changes the NL West that's coming up mark weather with you on the sports later. You're.

"You got my laugh out of me. So, Yeah, we'll go with infections now expected something is a great word for that. And look if I were you, I don't know if I'd be laughing, but I'd certainly be smiling the way this team is playing. Great Now I just wanted to talk about this staff. The staff has been phenomenal. You know, Quito had a bump in the rope. That's his first game back local weather and pitching really well, the last four games except for the hick up in Colorado, but I mean, I can't imagine you could have expected any more from the starters. No, they've been spectacular. And even Logan today got off to a little bit of a rough start. But once he locked it in, um you know he kind of cruise through those innings and got game to the pen and in pretty good hands, so I agree with you even Johnny coming off coming off the aisle on Sunday. You wanna have a competitive team and You know, when Fortune breaks your way, Um, you know, and when hard work pays off like it hasn't look, we're not taking victory laps were not even a quarter of the way through the season. But if we can continue to play this way Then, um, you know, we're gonna want to see it through. That's what we did last year at the trade deadline. Um, and you know, we finished a pitch away from really making the playoffs. And that was disappointing, but no regrets about playing it out. I mean, the guy's deserved it, and he was a really fun. Uh, you know, stretch drive to the season, and so I think we'll take the same approach and you know, last year we talked a lot about Looking to add a left handed back to the mix, which, frankly, might have been the.

"Favorite team being in last place in the division who but we also have this fares are going to be four and one they take an e for the final time bears victorious tae turn away Tom Brady Anna Bucket airs twenty, two, nineteen defense again, doing another to get the job done. The fade to black moment WBZ newsradio seven eighty good morning. That's your boy Jeff Joni only gas long time box for the Chicago bears does great work anytime somebody in for my taste describes like best team announcers in the NFL Joni acnes to be top five I, think so I I will only heard so many you know the Tampa, Bay buccaneers guy, he's. That's your boy Nardo do it. Go box go. Three two. Three to one fire, the cannons buccaneers of. A. Leisure Five, four, three, two, one voicemail says, go bucks go. That's beautiful. Yeah. He's a late yet your squad. So you know. HOW DOES SOMEBODY BE GREENBACK? That's it I mean that's really the only thing on which you should be focusing right now is out of the by. Period how does somebody stop this quarterback? Who never has been better in good morning and? Coach, the last game they end. Say Good Morning Good morning to you Paul back. It's great to see you. Thanks And schemed schemer now because they have receivers last game they played and they basically made the running backs why receivers and thrive. So that's the concern that leflore and Rogers. Putting this thing together Darius and Preston Smith Mommy I. Know You got Super Special MAC and Akim hits. You know what I said this into the season I have not looked at the stats and honestly ever watched much of the bears I've never been the biggest robber Quinn fan when it comes to like overall game terrorism So like when I say you know the Darius and the Preston Smith Yeah and then with you guys, I, go Khalil Mack. AKIEM. Hicks. He should I never quinton that bit because like I mean I think he's a one trick pony my wrong well. One. Mac finally showed up Thursday against the buccaneers with two sacks and was just four seized machi- cheer on that front seven when it's engaged, let let's not forget when it's engaged. Late in a game, they can win I mean those are dog rubber Quinn flashed on the first series of the season and I have not heard or seen much of him sense has a total of two tackles this year all year and one of them's a sack he might have a fumble recovery. It's been Max crickets from Mister Quinn Yeah. So I've been a little disappointing because all our money is spent on Defense Hicks is getting paid maximum pay folds out of poke out a zillion falls. He did he? Chunk of change. You got a nice chunk of change Zillion, but most of our cash. On the defense, the defense needs to kick ass and Montgomery pulls the sled but anyway yeah. Montgomery I thought he was heading the right direction and he just looked horrible buck I'm sorry I. Just I did that to feel better about myself I have. So please continue so. Next four games. I think the. We got four Meaty Games and then I, think we'll get back into division of play. Okay. So Carolina. So we get Teddy Bridge blaster then at Rams home against saints that at Titans. So or you better when you go to Nashville you better, hope your boys don't give Bet I. Know I know. So, we'll just talking earlier that I got Josh. Allen and Devon Secretary. Fancy team. I'm his bullets over over to bite squad by busted out here. Okay. Now I'm tripping. So you be captain. Cole your foreign one. The the narrative is there with the you know I've I'm not gonNA say because. Colleen watching and rooting for this one and four operation. There are just so many things on my mind right now that quite honestly I just need the radio show end in twenty five minutes I can move on So with your squad, it's not going to be horseshoe up the, but you're getting these breaks the just every from from a few years ago where Super Special Lovey did get a fair amount of breaks with a good team. I'm not gonNA say that I'm not going to say you've had to replace your quarterback and you're foreign one that is an earned record four and you know the the thing is. The bears haven't played that great in their four. One s think well, there's One quarter against Detroit they played to a good half against giant. This is good as it's GonNa. Get you better get used to that I can't believe remember game three, dame three, they play one good quarter and then against Brady to play two quarters they putting together yet prompt you guys had about forty five minutes of real lifetime of the worst football when they played the giants that I've ever seen in my life. Yeah and a I mean I saw that Green Bay Vikings Game Week one at the palatial. Purple Paradiso I know what getting steamrolled looks like it's not the steamroll. It was just like no Saquon, which is all ugly. You know what you you know this we've been friends for twenty one years I'm racetrack trained doesn't matter how you get to the winner circle. As long as you get there, ragging our picture taking taken and everybody cashed a wind battle. Let's look what the NFL was headed toward yesterday I thought the Sealer is GonNa blow out on the water and they had to sweat that one out. San Francisco, what is happening now? It gets the dolphins. Oh no they got smog Garoppolo gets Ben and if we're in the seven to like we have been ten times or if I'm a diamond Joe's like with Nordahl cotton. John or you or whatever. I would've caught the dolphins plus the spot Norio unveiled that I looked into it I'm like, wow very nice. Take there. I would have gotten killed after that I had chiefs in survivor pool dead. You know. The the the raiders come to town and house them. Yeah. I just it would allow US chiefs and the division game. Yes. WHOA. That's risky. Yeah. Let's see what the they didn't look good against the Patriots to be honest when you can't use niners because mullins terrorism. Ravens probably been used US duty survivor things I broke my rule just follow the bad teams around course plane the jets picked out of the team The NFC east pick two or three of those. Teams. I got outside of myself air picked the chiefs. So so what so here's where I'M I wasn't listening was I was thinking about the next line that I was going to try to win borough that happens for that. I Apologize Right Man the bears foreign one who do they play next? Liners. That Carolina okay after that. At ramps wins the by. Sees Him by yeah I think you're at Teddy winnable You are at rams absolutely winnable. Quinn. Against his former team though limit their. I think they're buys after us. That's like young nine ten eleven pm. The the Rams Rams got loss up in this thing right? They lost a game somewhere the way against the bills Oh twenty nine unanswered. Tyler Kroft. With like ten seconds off I'm going top of the head here. Rams when foreign against the NFC east right and that's like they're wins they played Washington. Yeah. They've played philly yeah. I think they played all four. That's good. So you'll be okay there who do you have after the rams homes against sates when next then at. Titans. Win Next by next then it's NFC north. Packers. Win Lions. Win. Vikings. Lose. Yup feels. A below thirteen and three up this thing about that I'm just hoping to get two in two out of the next four. Six, we're three moon get back in division plays. Up Some circling team, some of these offensive Lineman, you had rolling out there on Thursday night man I'm. Alex bars bit yeah. We have word that come from the right guard. Yeah. He was a practice squad here though I didn't know who we well, Jesse? James, Daniels is out for the year pictorial. Oh. So you still got cody white, Hessel Center the center you gotTa Leno. You've got Massey who else you got a faded weymouth Germania feted right guard bars bid Bart's bars whatever Paul blurt. But left guard they're talking about they're actually talking about signing re-signing Ted Larsen WHO's a swing guy? WHO's not doing anything right now? Yeah. Because they need that because Dan is also the backup snap I signed him like four days before the Vikings play. please. Pass Rush. Where we're GONNA pass rush. Larsen just dreaming you guys got Klay. Our Interior Pass Rush. Leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, and I do believe it is working on the last nerve of Mike Zimmer I do realize Mike along with Andre, Patterson? They're doing the very best. They can to get the last from the inside James Lynch rookie from Baylor had a sack of that's what you WanNa, call it open kind of got pushed into him. So Hey, it's a it's a notch in in his proverbial belt but. I. Bet you. I bet you're right now the Minnesota Vikings would move. Drew. Samania. A second round pick And all the BBC. Johnson for a X.. Yeah. Yup. Sure. Sure. Right again, be all over that one. Or you see drafted he traded for trubisky. So he's apt screw up every. So often we need to get we need to trade BC while he's hot because he has that catch last night's this afflicted with every every every executive that the Chicago bears ever had. ME. Mr. Mackay you just can't. They just can't see clearly the quarterback position. Okay. Thanks George Allen. I'm just convinced I'm never going to have a good quarterback in my lifetime as a bears fan trauma falls super bowl MVP. He's got to see if he stays upright. Okay. Falls is a statue. It's they gotta run different stuff for folks because he doesn't move lecture Bisky and and falls we'll stay in the pocket and take a hit Your Co.. Coach got fresh was Cordeiro and of Darryl on the edge. Yes. The bit. But to get him on the edge, you gotTA running two or three times between the tackles because core Daryl I mean running back and receiver at Tennessee end of his rookie year. Maas grave did wonderful work with them like twenty thirteen and I'm not gonNA say he almost ran into rookie of the year conversation. But man, he met a charge of those rookies and and you're running between the tackles Cordeiro is not going to go Dalvin Zeke sweetness on it. No. He's going to get to three or four, but that's okay. You need that that. So you can get that later when you're dot the eye and he's behind Matsui then you gotta respect that because when they fake that there he goes around the edge and look at Flash Ride I love him on the wheel route coming out of the backfield. Yeah. 'cause when the buccaneers dot up the pressure on foles Negga went to real wheel routes and through to Montgomery one. Yeah Patterson got them. Got Them back on their heels and got bit. Beautiful Let let me ask you this question because I almost put it on twitter after a kick return. Eight four had that did not get to the house now a Cordeiro. Patterson. Devin Hester Dante Hall Prior Ryan Mitchell back in the day with Washington I mean I can go on and on down memory lane we go metcalf. Great. Yes and his father Terry. For the Saint Louis. Cardinals back in the seventies, he was terrific to playing on that rock-hard artificial turf. Church. Cordeiro Patterson is the most a gifted. Savvy and crafty kick returner in the history of the NFL because he's fast. But the came first of all, I've always felt hester was a better punt returner than kick returner likewise for Dante you know what? I'm saying Dr Devon Astros the greatest punt returner history of the NFL Cordeiro Patterson for my taste with the way he sees it weaves and bursts. He is the most learned crafty instinctive returner in the history of the NFL just overall special teams man because he he pay he plays on kick coverage to is a governor and he's People. You makes plays is a gun, right? Yeah. He's desert football player unbelievably good governor Yeah Wow Brendan IOM Beija up the. Chance to meet could era once and he's actually pretty cool. Appreciate you coming by your, my man and I want to talk about some baseball when we return with Lavelli Neil the third this is Wait until tomorrow on the of bucks tomorrow mom very well. Thank God. We have major league baseball again, cow being a sinkhole speculating sports snob manager league baseball playoffs have been fantastic. I've enjoyed pretty much all of it Friday, and Saturday we had nothing Then you know you go you get Jimmy upsetting self-proclaimed than they closed that last night I'm at US Bank stadium calling a game off TV's, and I also missed the race taking a one zero lead on Stroz but the championship series have arrived with Tampa Tampa Bay and Houston and the dodgers and the braves. Wow, every single day. This is GONNA be awesome. It's been cool. The expanded playoff format I don't know if they can stick with it. Going forward. But for this this season, it's been awesome that there's there are days when four games on its base, Baseball Day from noon to ten PM Yeah s heaven. It's absolutely having sweet just there watching games and it's a great Jill in watching strategy and and the intensity of postseason baseball and that's what you're getting. You're getting obviously with no fans at now. PETCO. And of the Rangers BIC Globe Globe Life Park. Okay. Well, glow glow whatever. So you're getting you got no fans but you'll have players certainly managers handling every single intricate moment the way it would be if there were eighty thousand fans at a game, you can feel the intensity. Playoffs and like MLB NHL. It's so many people are like well, I'm just not into hockey. I just didn't grow up with with our baseball to slow. Sixty game whatever. MLB NHL in the postseason because they are different than the regular season yet the same I just love them and and this I mean. It's there are I think either you or a shared with last week whether it's Kim Kardashian you're. Ken Rosenthal Whomever Massive Baseball Minds, I've now heard five times in the last week and a half. This is the best dodgers team in the history of L. A. Dodgers Baseball I'm like Whoa is deep as Hell. Wow this deep. They've got arms. They've got bats and it's just I still think they're going to win the world series. But they've been building. They've had so much heartbreak. The last few years get in the playoffs and Kershaw had hiccups in the postseason and not getting done. This, rosters loaded and they're going to be tough to beat. I really liked Atlanta braves a lot. I. Just think their pitching's going to be a little bit shortness serious but watching a Kunia and. An Albee's and Freddy Freeman Cagey veteran in the middle of that lineup Akhoon years the bomb. Yeah and watching Dan's we swanson kind of develop because he made his debut against the twins. Swanson your shorts tower their best pitchers. Matic's was broke gold sorts ROKA's. injured. What starting today Kyko went to the South siders Yup Yup they're starting at the bit six six next freed guy la talented. It's good to you. I think th rocks work is injured. They a couple of bits there to Gal was aller freed and something called Saroka or whatever going to be bueller in Kershaw. Right kidding me that's going to be tough Kershaw Kershaw. He was three or four years ago, but he's still very effective. buehler's a monster I know. I don't know if Dustin as I'm still in rotation there now they got arms and then the bit dairy is. As Kenley Jansen closer has been hit cupping his ass off and now rob Dave Roberts came out and said I'm thinking about changing the closer which means former twins prospect breads, Dr Grabber. All may end up being the nineteen guy for the dodgers the the white sox have fired their manager. Recruits re is a good man. He's a very smart and savvy baseball. person. But he took a lot of heat and Chicago pitcher moves down the stretch and the people a little bit a little mad that they went to the final week of the regular season in first place and just totally collapse it last week and a lot. The twins come back and get to. The division Crown Yeah. So we know fell off was your cat Robert Robert. Loose ver-. Yeah. He fell out I don't exactly know the amount of days or weeks take a peek of those game walks because I did he fell off precipitously and then he had a mental bleep moment very late in the season. Easy pop fly coming down to him. Yes. Freezing dropped it I'm like, Oh, my God you just cracked in the purge. Yes he did. Yes. He did I saw the replay of that. There was also in renteria small. There's a game against they play in Cleveland where Renteria was trying to get. To a couple of pitchers or coming off to interlaced, just get them some innings. Instead of bringing his normal seventh-inning guy in he brought him like Carlos road or something because he he just wanted him to get some experience. Or get some innings under him to get ready for the postseason that backfired on costing them the game. Auto. They weren't happy about some pitching movie made in the postseason series against as people people have to keep in mind the Elkins Damn team. I was hyping as before the postseason start up and so. They were higher seed than the White Sox I. Believe I think so Wasn't like the white SOX got upset but. It was a hell of a series as go their way now, and now the white sox are probably the most coveted. Managerial opening in the League during this off season I won't be surprised if someone like, ESPN commentator Eduardo Perez. Yeah. Get serious consideration for that job sweep speaking of pitching decisions cease. I don't know if you saw this I saw it in the. New York Post see Sobat the is like I mean he's a consultant or like he's with the Yankees Organization still. As. Like an ambassador consultant or something are big CC still got some say with the pinstripes. Shredded the decision to use whichever pitcher they used in game two paraphrasing basically like we gave that game away something called Garcia or whatever. Oh, super highly talented hit. It was a weird game in which the the Yankees tried to be the raise the raise actually rankings. Thank you. You know what? CC kind of intimated yeah. That's what they do we. We tried to do them better than them and we didn't right. and he's like in that game ejei HAP-. Use Him this guy used him. You know start with a starter and in the deciding game anybody who follows it relatively closely knows there is one inning to get Garrett call and is the first and that has been his mo all of his career and sure enough big boy got in trouble in the first loaded and got out of it. So I thought it was lights out there. You see the primal scream he may s when he got out of that Garrett call right at the race dugout now but they have so now raise gift that lead top eight bench goes crazy man. Got Choi jumping over the rail I know. It was a major league baseball playoffs phenomenal and because may but then you look in the bullpen at close to close it up and they didn't use them I don't think they have Blake's now and Charlie Morton both woman I'm like what freaking embarrassment of rich riches here and got former twins pitchers in that staff in June John Curtis and Aaron slegers immerse leg sixteen kit. The twins had a couple of years ago. There in the bullpen for the for the race. Yeah. So but because the the way schedule worked out this year that you won't see plating your guest division opponents central I had no idea who ran the arose arena was until late in the season, and then all of a sudden polcies comes and this kid is bashing the crap out of the wow randy rolls arena I'm like never heard this cat couldn't pick him out of a two person lineup standing. So, you mean draft Kings at Casino Queen Sports Book America's top rated sports book out that drug trafficking And we all can legally gamble. Now you legally get stoned. I mean, it's like a different world, man. And I talk every night to my buddy guff. Oh, I'm a goofy by the way. Happy birthday to one of the biggest Sox fans in the world Ryan McGuffey today. Happy Birthday, Ryan Mcduffy hes 50 can't believe Happy birthday. Ryan Duffy is Virgo season high. It's Fargo season. Indeed, Ryan McGuffey said, Happy birthday to you, my friend, So he and I were talking last night and he is, I said, like you. He's a diehard Sox man. Like what do you think he's like? I wouldn't bet the White Sox tonight with your money. Take that. Take that, said Rinaldo Lopez Barrios. I would bet the first three innings that the Twins have the lead at the end of the first three innings. So that's what I did. Well, I mean, is this is the easiest Ben Vegas is so so much so I think you go. I just kind of knew you just kinda new tough, but she was talking about gambling on Draftkings. I find this story fascinating. The Michael Jordan portion of Yes. How about the second portion of it? There's more. There's more. What else So they're paying, Michael, I'm sure pretty penny to be Kind of a face of things for them. Draftkings this morning announces they have signed a massive deal with the Chicago Cubs will build a Wrigleyville Sports book. The deal, which sources close to the action network peg at around $100 Million for nearly a decade worth of rights includes the ability for draftkings to build a retail sports book in Wrigleyville quote. We want to build the biggest retail sports book in the United States right in the heart of Wrigley with an unrivalled experience, food and beverage. The ability of a fan to go their pregame make their bets. Go to the game. Sweat comeback, cash their tickets on the way out, so Wrigley will be open to me, 3 65, right? The side door, so I could make that if I wanted to open all the time in college football, the all of it okay. NFL season all of its snow up to my ankles. I could still just roll in there and make a bet if I want to you, Yes, that's kind of cool. To be able roll into the building whenever I want the first stadium that has a already operating sports book. Is the Washington Wizards slash capitals at the Verizon Center in D. C. And with the team, not there. They actually have taken one of the ticket areas and turned that into a larger sports book so people can get in and get their swerve on. I like it. How about that? So Danny shot or no shot and you can use this now little relievers with this shot or no shot. Wrigley Field will change their naming rights to draft kings somewhere down the line. No shot. No shot a lot of money. And you know, the Ricketts don't have the kind of cash they once had, because you know, biblical losses, losses? Sure. You say it Biblical. Awesome. It's not like we've got a pile of cash in the corner someplace. They might go, hoody, they might go. Wrigley Field presented by Draftkings, But there's no way they're ever going to take the name his historic name. Wrigley Field off that marquee draft King confines. Sounds good, Sam. I'm already workshop in that rig. You don't have the means and the money anymore. He shut the water off on Theo. After the Ah After those two starters after Darvish So he turned water. I'll come cat. They turned the water off on deals. You saw what happened. Leo's got a B. He's gotta move some things around just trying to get some relief pitching, because, well, we just don't have any money. It's not like I have a pile of cash sitting around the corner. What you got to get the Marquis Network in two years. Get out of your rickets. You heard of saying, right? You remember this, right? I mean that I have never heard anyone booed like that. The kind of convention was unbelievable. I was in the room. I was like, what? Eight socks and socks best. Yes. A boot. Kenny has room before. Have I been socks? Vest? Yes, Cup. I have never heard. Come. Fans turn that quickly. They were mad. All he was trying to explain to you is like, Hey, we got the Marquis Network. You going? Boom! Boom! The Marquis Network for what you got against the Marquis Network. You won't be saying that in two years. I have never heard of a company that before use these Cubs convention. Hey, ladies and gentlemen, Dick Ruth gets like 12,000 Lemmings. Aaron there. Don't say that. Don't say that. Don't say that. Don't say lemmings. Just die hard fans. You know, they're rooting for Dick Ruthven. They you know, Hate comes Steve Trout. You know it. You know that they bring that, but I thought I was a lemming. Ladies and gentlemen, Rick Russia. Remember his brother bull like it's great. You get the rooms and there and there, but I have never wait. Rubes is better than living for Iowa. But not Chicago. I want but I have never heard tough hands to that before. Danny, We've just got $100 million. Biblical losses, cap. Wait a minute. $100 million. Can we get some relievers? No biblical losses. We have hotels to payoff. We have rooftops. We have to payoff. We have failing restaurants to pay off cap. "Chico. Follow up, Pacheco hard seltzer. That's that's the new stuff. The horror. The Topo Chico, just the Nonalcoholic if you will, That's been around for a while and getting more popular. And that's what Marianne drinks. She has me buying that all the time. And because it comes in bottles, it tastes better, too. I think people like the bottles No, it looks like there's going to be a tasty It looks like a tasty lemon lime version and a lemon version that this hard seltzer that'll be coming to the U. S. Probably in early 2021. Good with an Italian beef sandwich. We're talking with Lieutenant Hans about that few minutes ago, and I wanted to mention the fact that this happens quite a bit. I've talked to a number of people who have tried to open up hot dog stands in other cities around the country, and they They do OK, and then they add Italian beef on the menu, and nobody nobody goes for it because you forget it's a Chicago thing. It really is. And it's I mean, people don't understand. It's sort of a roast beef sandwich, but it's not a roast beef sandwich. And so it's sort of French dip, but it's not French dip. And it's got its origins. Well, it's questionable the history of the Italian beef, But one thing's for sure. It's it's all Chicago Chicago. Centric for sure. And most people think that it started. At L's Ferreri, the grandfather of the current Al's Italian beef owner, Chris He opened a restaurant in 1938 they say, mostly to act as a front for a gambling operation. But then there are a lot of people who say that The founder of Scallop packing company past Squall. Scallop started when he served the dish at weddings in the 19 twenties. But one thing you said clears. Pardon me Beef and beers. That's what I heard You used to be. Weddings, beef and beer. Well, thrift was the idea. Nearly every historical account mentions that the dish caught on because the cooking method helped a stretch beef. To feed more people. I mentioned the places that I liked. I also forgot to mention old standby that I still like Mr Beef on Orleans, so want to give them a shout out its 7 15 And we're going to check in with the Black Club Chicago folks get some extremely local news here. Momentarily, including some news about Chicago restaurants and their patios. So we'll get to that. And did you watch? Did you watch old Cubs games last night on TV? Dave and I were talking about this. The Cubs were rained out in Cincinnati. The sacks had an off day, but Cubs. Marquis Channel was running. What was it called Countdown. They weren't counting down the greatest announce the greatest play by play calling the greatest moments. Greatest players is just one countdown after another, but they had some great old highlights. Yeah, I mean, I'm a sucker for that stuff. I couldn't turn it off and You know what they showed, and I've seen it a 1,000,000 times. The Ernie Banks 500 home run with the Jack Brickhouse called, but they had also video of, you know, you see that scene all the time of the line drive into the left field bleachers and then Ernie around the bases. But then they showed Ernie in the dugout afterwards as part of the clip last night, which I enjoyed, and Jack Brickhouse interviewing him afterwards. Yeah. With. I think Jim West might have been. Yeah, exactly Know there was some good stuff. Yeah, they They ran down Thie. Let's see the the greatest players or I don't know what they called it, but they had. They included a lot of the current guys too, in that, but it was fun to see Brick. Russia lll. I mean, I remember one time in the seventies, you know, before things got really anything's were people called the Cubs of 100 years startup company for a long time because you know things were a bit primitive for many, many years, and I remember one time in the seventies. I was working on the radio in the afternoon and I go out to the ballpark in the morning. Hang around. Ah, batting practice, maybe interview some of the guys and I mean, it was so lax in terms of the way security was and you know back then the ballpark was never filled to capacity and I remember talking to Rick Russia ll in the dugout during batting practice 11 day and he was telling me stories about growing up on the farm. I can't remember and and I'm looking around them. Realizing this game is about to start in just a few minutes and they're clearing the press off the field. And I so I say to rational Yeah, I got to go and he says, Hey, hang on a second in one time on the farm. My brother Paul and I, and so he's telling these stories, and I'm thinking they're going to arrest me that the game is going to start them in the Cubs dugout. I can hear that happening. Anyway, It was fun to see some of those old players on Marquis Last night, 7 18 Jack was and you know, that's the other thing. Hearing Brick House hearing. Harry Carey. Ah, I even heard a little bit of Vince Lloyd in there. I mean, you know, those guys were just the best the enthusiasm and for most of the years, certainly for you know, Brick House and Vince Lloyd and Jack Quinlan before And Lou Boudreau. For most of the years, those teams were not very good. But the enthusiasm level never weaned. Did it never did. Never. Did I watch there. Their documentary on Harry Carey. I seen that. Yeah, and it goes back to his time with white socks, too, with him and Jimmy Piersall and those air those air some interesting to say the least. I can't be fun of the old ballpark. It's 7 19 And here's a quick update on a few things, including.

"Danny Murtaugh was the manager because the Pirates won the pennant in 1960. And Mark Simon will beyond with us later, Hey, said Murtaugh said that he had a stand sideways on the mound wouldn't get knocked off the mountain. He talked to his pictures. So that was not it they had. They had two All Star games for a few years back then, which seems really odd, But they did. And and Candlestick was very young ballpark and the two games that year were in these classic. You know, the classic Fenway and the next great Ballpark, Candlestick in house that didn't quite live up to it right away to remember what happened in the in the in the All Star Game at Fenway that year. No, no, I don't It was a 1 to 1 tie. It started raining in the ninth, and they called it off. Well, well. Game. Okay. All right. Remember two All Star games and after a few years, you know, they just didn't want to do it anymore. And that that was the end of it. Well, I don't remember that either. Believe me. I was just checking this afternoon in 1967 and this one is in Anaheim. I remember this one and Tony Perez hit a home run. I think in the 15th inning I love Kathy to win the game 2 to 1/2 of that. Yeah, I was at that game. I was home from college from Cal, and we've got tickets and you know, we're nationally guys were going out to Anaheim Hostile territory, And we've got Lou Brock Clemente Aaronson paid and we got Dick Allen. And you know Marshall started the game. Uh, amazing came off the maze and Pete Rose. You're on the bench with Ernie Banks mean we're thinking, man, this is going to be We couldn't wait for that for that night, and you know it. It was a great game in its own way was it was wonder one going into the 15 But, uh, you know, he couldn't have couldn't have expected the way that thing. That thing came down. Any of American leaders made amazing times with American League to with, you know Brooks Robinson and yes and Mantle and kill everyone believe in all those guys. So it was a pitching was about pitching. Marshall is great. Gibson Drysdale were great Seaver. And ER and Richie Allen hit a homer in that game. I did enjoy that a lot in the sixties, the Golden era baseball. Absolutely the best, but I I always thought so, Yeah. 1989. Ah, Rick Russia ll pitches to Bo Jackson and that that's one of the lead. That's like the Reggie Jackson home run A Tiger stadium. Bo Jackson just crushes it to start the game. Yeah, I was covering that game. And you know, sometimes before a game, you might For some reason he might miss the first pitch. He might be in the bathroom in your little lake in the food or getting some coffee or whatever. And I I was not gonna miss one moment of Bo Jackson. From what we've seen leading up to that game from him. You know, he's making these insane catches and throws like you've never seen hitting 500 foot homers and it's like Good Lord. Then he does that. He added a ton. I forget where Round up. It was just massive. And even even then he got for it. That's that game, which we were all grateful to see, which is so rare that that happens today. But, uh, big area presence in that game well, 34 hitters for the National League. Where will Clark and Kevin Mitchell Nice. Stuart started for the for the American League? Fabulous, fabulous. Ah, couple of things about this this date and baseball history. The the warning track this the first time Yankee Stadium, they put a morning track. A similar warning track up to that point, you could run into a cement wall. It was no problem. It's so funny when you look back on things in the the old Forbes field in Pittsburgh Center field was like, you know, it wasn't even in Pennsylvania. I don't think they had They had a batting cage out there. That's right. If you happen to hit 1 18 miles it a rattle around out there, and the guy will find it or whatever. And and in Yankee Stadium. You know, the monuments were famous there and you know what? Gary? Ruth and DiMaggio and and they were in play for many years. They're just out there you could you are the ball could get lost out there. Another story was I used to hide a ball behind the monuments. Haitian needed one. Yeah, you couldn't find the other one. You could have the one behind the money, but so that was 1949. But you know, Pete Reserve the You know the next Mickey man. You know, you run into these cement walls with skull fractures and all that. That kind of you know, I was thinking today and this is sort of crazy off the wall. But, you know, baseball is so unique about Joe DiMaggio marrying Marilyn Monroe. About that when you think about it. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we've never seen way. See anything like that. I mean, you know that Tom Brady doesn't even I can't even remember his wife's name is Alice. Yeah, yeah. You know, it's a great, wonderful, very attractive marriage. But I mean, this was when you talk about Iconic herrings in life. Really, of my goodness. Yeah, Just just remarkable. I mean, what a going A great A great thing again, you know, was a great thing for baseball in for Hollywood. Yeah, it was amazing. I just I just thought about that. The last thing that I'll mention, Actually, we could do this all night and it's it's just a pleasure to talk about it. We may actually be doing a pregame believe it or not in a couple of weeks. You know that would be leveling with every game Saturday and Sunday. We got one more Saturday's show next weekend, but it's also marks the passing of Bob Shepherd, the great voice of the New York Giants football and, of course in Yankees in Yankee Stadium. I got to meet him in a special man. Oh, yeah. I mean, you know, go walking into Yankee Stadium off the subway, where you smelling the pretzels and you can hear the organist Eddy Lleyton and you can hear Bob Sheppard's voice. I mean, you're just, uh, just loved up Shepherd once compared to Yankee Stadium to Ah, you know, ST Patrick's Cathedral. Because it was that it was a cathedral to him and had had a dignity to it..

"Good everything. Good you go back in the release just getting tested as we speak Lee. Release me. Twelve week test your co. Yeah. Yes. That's. Doc. No. Yourself solo act a solo activity. Yeah. That's got to be, you know. No, funny business. It's got to be just the. All you can't have any sort of. You can't have relations with your wife for one week seven. That's all that's it. And then you gotta be. Did you just have to still use tactician until you get you can precipitate one week s it seven days. I heard you say the twelve I'm like, no, no, no, no seven days. You're good. They make you wait that Lamont of time to visit her first time, you gotta make sure it's Oaten. You know, that's got to be careful the same question. It was like is it feel different after he goes. No, never no new. He's one hundred percent, right. So if I had waved a one, and all of a sudden, you had you would not know any difference now. No as you know participate in in. Difference. Nothing. Nothing excelling. That's exactly a piece of cake guys. To this report from NBC sports bay area dot com. Matt maiocco who's all over the Niners. Beat says the team is now interested in Stephen gusts Cousy Bobby goal is not signed his franchise tag team could and likely will rescind it if there was a strike a deal with gusts Cousy gold has expressed some interest in exploring free agent opportunity before the test. So sick of talking about the. Really? I don't have the energy for it. I can't even pretend I can't fake. And I'm sorry. You want to bring back Robbie gold fine. You know, my thoughts on carriers. Thank you for two and a half million bucks. I guess okay. But I'm so sick and tired of talking about. It's the kicker. It would be a cathartic thing for the fan base in the city of Chicago. You remember the one guy that recorded himself leaving screaming at park is walking back. Yeah. Would be far dick going into a training camp. Not having to worry about who your kicker is going to be now, you know, my feelings to find a guy that's going to boom the ball it for five hundred grand bought this city after this disappointing. City may need the ball that is Robbie goal line. He'd be the only guy that I pay more than five hundred thousand dollars. Four and a half million. I wouldn't think he is. He's got really no leverage. Leverage. So that when you don't sign that. That's what gave you your value. You don't sign your not the franchise player. Now, you're out there. And if you wanna play here with you like it or not you're gonna play for a little bit of a discount here. Now, whether that's three million two and a half million three point three to five the bears can decide in Robbie can decide what he wants. Maybe he wants to stay here for three years and finish out his career. I don't know. I'm sure he'd like that. That's good. But I'm telling you for the city the way this thing ended here with park eight there'd be a lot of bears fans pooping and hollering tonight if Robbie Goldens bridge this Johnny. Yeah. So if you're in Ryan pace, his shoes and he signs Robbie. And it's the same exact situation to advance in the playoffs and Robbie heaven forbid, Mississippi Ryan can go. Hey, man. I didn't grant Redford Jones some tryout camp. This was the best it happened. He can also go. I just have no idea how to pick. If that's is only sort of kryptonite is Jim I guess I'll go with it. Okay. Listen, I say is you're going to be putting a situation that people were unhappy with Robbie when he missed field goal against Minnesota. Everybody remembers and recalls rightly nobody was upset when Robbie goals left here. And there was not a dry in the house when he left they wanted him to take a pay cut. He didn't want to take a pay cut. So we laughed. We went to New York. Giants right. Yes. I they released anyway. Then he went to San Francisco. Thank you. He kicked well with his he did look he's eighty eight since the day the bears game, the pinks Robbie's even said, I think he sit on Waddle and Silvy he probably needed that. He wasn't the same kicker anymore. He probably needed to kick in the ass. Right. He's admitted that a humbling bowling exactly that things had gotten too comfortable in two key got too complacent. And you're like he's admitted it, you know, so he might not have been the same four. And now, he's reborn I. But again, I'm exhausted. We're talking about a kicker. I'd rather talk about corner play and stuff. Wait of number ninety four. We'll they draft Bryce love. I mean, I really. What's the deal? I don't know. We'll see in the off season is the time to put the weight on the muscle. Thank you. Jesse rogers. Chris Russo who was phenomenal today Greenberg. Janis Crispell dogs out of his mind going. Outing his daughter. No. I mean, he's crazy. I don't know if you guys heard that from outed his like. Show like a week or two ago. Did this whole thing on how his daughter was on waitlisted at BC weightless sixteen hundred fourteen something. Just an example of a neighbor. The perfect score a neighbor or friend got a perfect score. And couldn't get into the Ivy league. He said her he called him the board scores scores. Hundreds and a forum grade ever in a perfect adver fine. But like what does she sounds like a smart young girl lady? I mean, she's. I would be too. It's ridiculous. I mean come on dog. So he talked. I heard them. I didn't call any football coaches. I knew. SID we should play for water. You should hear what he's saying about BC lease land. He can't believe that his daughter would PC. I don't know. What is a good football player? He wants her awake for talking about the scandal. The point shaving scandal fully years ago. Like, it's got anything to do with getting waitlisted today at PC Rick Yune thing with Henry hill. He's ribbon BC for the point shaving scandal. In the seventies. Crazy, oh, mad dog, some hints rain shortcake's. Hayward be paid one hundred eighty four million for an overrated speech. Appreciate it came after he signed his contract. Just tuning in the breaking news Jesse Rogers called in with about ten minutes ago. John Lester is headed to the injured list. No length of time yet has been announced they have not given out the results of the MRI, but he will be on the lease the ten day injured at least one start maybe to Jesse was saying she said one could be a lot longer. We don't know. He's man, you gotta be careful. Mike cleven just had to go on the injury list. What happened? I I don't know. Pelted on the base slide or five the second pitcher shouldn't be hitting. I. Get me right up here around up there. The specialty guys throw the baseball guys are athletes that pitcher true salt does. Leicester not look like an athlete running the base. So back to the old days. We're not talking about Rick Russia or Terry forced or anything like that guys are much more than it does kind of speak to how athletic they are that a pitcher can get up there and even make contact that is something to me like probably a guy like Lester hasn't pizza hitting for twenty years has focused on hitting. I mean think about it or maybe fifteen years. Probably the best hitters all through at growing up all through Italy's. Tony. Hi, whatever they they could probably all mash. So it is amazing that they can even still get up there and make contact can you tell me what major league pitcher has driven in the most runs between the eighteen and nineteen seasons combined. The last two years, I'm going to guess. Hold on. I'm guessing. National League cranky. He second. Up here. Jay must era. John Lester, Johnny? Four. Right. How about that? For and this is a guy who had an over like forty five start until he got to Chicago. It's amazing never gotten a hit contact, man. Yeah. That's right. I remember that he couldn't buy a hit. Right. Not by Davis leads up all porkers Davis. That's struggling. Yeah. About forty seventy seven. He hit the ball hard yesterday. Yeah. It's finding gloves. Sometimes it just finds the globe over forty. So does the odds? Couple have a masters play. I should be wagering on. You gotta well a few shekels NCA pool. Yeah. You've gotta listen to go. Congratulations on that victory. Nancy w. Gotta get my kion though. Onto friday. So the masters love already started talk about the weekend pick. I'm not great at this. When it comes to golf. I mean, I watch a fair amount of golf Merck is really the expert if I had to look for some longer. Jon rahm. I mean, you're not getting huge out there. But that's bad. Patrick can't laugh. I think maybe at his odds is a good pick this weekend to look. She. Two hundred one that's because he is very good greens in regulation. Course snicker. Yeah. So they actually think tiger is going to be battling to win. It. What are does Shambo sods? I mean, he's wanting twenty one Bryson I got it seventeen to about sixteen seventeen to one right now. Rory's the favourite about eight to one response. Agreed. I got sure is fifty or. Those are good odds to shambles thirty three to one winning back. The backs though, it is the merkin have Rama's eighteen like Lanny Watkins or so in my headphones. I forgot I bet pre Turney I have four guys I bet Bryson DJ Sergio and Bubba involve horses for courses. Search Baba's ads. He's a thirty three to one. Yeah. Oh, good. At this though. He knows golf. Somebody was picked in the master's pool upstairs like the last pick. So there's. And merkin, and when merkin and pastor said they never heard of him, I go that guy's got. Ever heard Merck and say, I don't know that golf ever always an amateur amateur hall. Maybe that explains. Yeah. I mean, that's why nobody's heard of amusing amateur lives advantage. Merkin looked up. They go who had never heard of my said. Picks. Halfway decent. Oh, baby. You got a couple of bombers you got Gary woodland. It's great question here. Who's last amateur when PJ tournament? I was just gonna. Amateur to win a PG eight tournament. I think it happens sooner that member. Time. Scott Verplank was a guy that was an amateur that want to turn. No kidding. Yeah. And I think he was the last one for an extended period of time. I think somebody else has done it since for recently never an amateur whenever he saying just wanna PG PG toward event for plank was last one. And listen happened ten years ago foreign region, another I have a memory were an amateur got to the top and wanted to tournament that can't. Name. Now, I can't place. It was replaced last one that did it. What did you think of Aaron Rogers and his comments to ESPN Milwaukee yesterday where he called the three players jer Michael Finley, Greg Jennings Ryan grant, what did he say irrelevant and with within the gender? What was your takeaway from I? When I was up there. And I got introduced to the crowd Ryan grant was the other player that did too so him, and I were basically co captains or whatever for that specific day of the aluminum Aaron Rodgers made it a point to stop by Ryan grant, gave him a hug and shook his hand and they had warm exchange. So I don't know why he was halting I read everything that Ryan granted, it really anything seem to be an incredibly more like just took an overlook approach to it and had more of a philosophical theory on what might have happened to what might not have happened. I really think you had any pointed fingers. Well, the receivers that were there. Listen your quarterback is going to be treated differently. Whether you like it or not the quarterback gets treated differently. And as a position player if you can't figure that out then shame on you. He doesn't get hit. He's in constant communication with the head coach and general manager it is non stop. If you think you're gonna have the same relationship head coach in and with your general manager your net going to so I don't know there might be a little. Jealousy. There might be a little bit of bitter pill the swallow with the way things ended for both of those individuals at the respective places. And maybe they felt that Aaron Rodgers didn't fight enough form when they were on the way out. Yeah. There's a number of different things that can go out there. Listen it happened at some point. He had the respond. He responded for him. It's over now. Aaron Rodgers finished it I've let you know what I think and now I have moved on. So that's where he's at through all the drama. I think that's still take them. I gotta be honest. Probably feel like listen. He finds a way to motivate themselves. It's motivated by thinking people insult him. And and that's how he gets. That's how he brings his game out. He, you know. And I know they've only went they only went to that one. And the only one, but you know, his coach didn't do many. He didn't do that team any favors kicking field goals down at the goal line in Seattle a couple of years ago, and then who's the special teams kid? Remember they had caught him the kid that botched the onsite. He was like he was right there. Ready to go to another. Other one, you know, it's hardly on Aaron Rodgers. He's not perfect. I get it. But it what was the name of that kid is receiver. Cleveland is a tight end receive run. Yeah. And he by one his only job was to step up and take the guy that was coming. That's all you had to do. His guy was waiting there for the ball was going to land in the hands of.

"A L. Saturday morning update. I'm Rick Fowler. We are joined by Lieutenant Colonel Tony Shaffer. He is the acting president at the London center for policy research. Tony good morning. Excellent the border question. Mark debate back and forth. He put it in perspective. As you see where the president is. And is what's next? Why the president I think is aptly inappropriately trying to get congress to do its job. They really do have the responsibility both policy-wise and article one funding wise, I mean, it's their job. And we have seen many of the politicians are now opposing the wall has spoken publicly in favor of a wall in the past. So it's I think massive and sustained hypocrisy by the left. Bottom line is this we want who are those of us who believe that this is a national security requirement. We believe that you need to create conditions for protecting the border. That means a wall or barrier. Whatever you wanna call it. Call it peaches creates a control checkpoints that people can pass through. And we want to primarily target. The drug cartels human traffickers, any any any individuals who have terrorist affiliations or connections. And you cannot do that with open borders. You cannot do that one people can just kind of walk through. So. I think if he doesn't get the funds as nature, I think he's appeared launch into military and other Pentagon related answers to try to set up the wall. Whether you like Trump or you dislike Trump, finally somebody is calling the question. This has been kicked down the road. This can has been kicked down the road for decades. And he's finally calling the question and everybody's all over him about it. So. Other things he's dealt with. He finally decided to do something not talk about it. But do something. So that's that's the biggest sent here. Rick is he's actually taking action as he said he would during his campaign. What? I've been very interested in your recent op, Ed pieces, and you've got one out this week appears at the Delaware gazette headline Trump sees adversaries competitors for what they are. And you're opening paragraph is we have a president who understands the difference between an enemy and a competitor. And through this knowledge. The correct tools to use in dealing with each explained kind of that difference between an enemy and a competitor. Especially as it would be in the eyes of the president. Yeah. It goes back to a root statement by the president quote American success is not a foregone conclusion that his his starting point. And then when you take that as you're kind of baseline, you have to examine the world from the perspective of heartily, then maximize our ability to interact with those who are not necessarily our competitor. Who we may have economic interests. We've got China there's all sorts things going on with China of all they're not necessarily an enemy. They are a competitor. And there's both good and bad. Thanks to be hand with that. And along with that idea of America's success is being very very effective in a dentist and dealing with our enemies. So this is where I think especially in the Obama administration we were giving far too much support to people who want to kill us. And it just wasn't wise. We saw the rise of ISIS under Obama, which was something that that he was told what happened if we did certain things in Iraq. So President Trump is actually actioning very effectively in my judgment. I try laid out in this article. I encourage people to go read at the is that that he has been able to establish a framework national security which delineates both and addresses both ineffective way. And a lot of people. Don't like it because it has really changed the paradigm of how Washington does business, but I think in my judgment. This is putting us United States. Back in the position of global leadership, not dominance, but leadership leading by example, and try to do the right thing. So that's what I lay out in this article, and you can find it at the Delaware gazette, the headline on a Trump sees adversaries and competitors for what they are reports out of Syria that we have begun to at least move equipment out of Syria and the New York Times headline reads US equipment, but not troops begins exiting Syria in chaotic withdrawal. Know they have to get that little editorials Zing in the headline. How do you describe what you know of the plan and the timeframe and whether this is chaotic or not, hey, Moore's chaos. We attempt as military members and planners to manage chaos. So. Yeah, of course, it's chaos. We're we're in the middle of trying to stop ISIS. We're in the middle of trying to find ways to bring our allies into be the stabilizing force. You've got the Russians there you got the ratings. There. You got the Turkish there you got the Iraqis. There is chaos. So what we're trying to do is minimize the exposure of US troops individuals to any potential loss of life over anything that we can't justify US interests being directly involved in. Well, we continue to watch operations, and and and and go after ISIS. Absolutely. There's not going to change this. But the idea here Rick is essentially to remove any semi permanent or permanent base of operations in Syria. That's it. So. What would be interacting? Absolutely. We'll be doing perations. Yes. So this whole premise that. Somehow, it's all chaotic and all and not normal that that's just not the case we are proceeding as planned and. Based on the people I've talked to the Pentagon. It's just fine. The way what we're doing got about a minute left. Tony just want to note there is an American being held in Iran. Young guy went over to visit his girlfriend in Iran that he met online Paul Whalen, still being held in Russia and question is not a good time for Americans to travel to unfriendly countries, is it I I don't think it's ever been a good because remember Obama the Obama administration we had multiple hostages in Iran. So the Iranians issues never going to get better until there's a regime change there. And I think that's where we're supporting the green movement to encourage the people of Iran rise up Russia. Well, you know, Rick Russia's Russia. And I think right now, we have a Cold War two point. Oh, kind of simmering very quietly just below the surface. And I think you're gonna see more and more. This tit for tat between Putin and President Trump. And boy if this is Russia, if we're colluding with Russia, man, we're not getting any any benefit out of that deal. Lieutenant Colonel Tony Shaffer author of operation darker, Tony. Thank you very much. Thank you. I appreciate it. Enjoy the snow seven forty four Saturday morning update on WMA all time for check the traffic and weather. Michelle Murray's on.
