"Say Our Children are too loud to slope to life with school sister has a policy of targeting our Children. There is a deeply rooted cultural bias as a collective stand a chance. All right, Katie. So Steve McQueen, I hear that this is his most autobiographical of the of the serious that he drew from his own childhood experience. Yeah, really does feel like the most personal installment of small acts. It's about a young boy named Kingsley played by an actor named Kenya. Sandy, who faces Sort of discrimination within the school system. He has some reading challenges and is sent to a special Ed types school, which is totally inadequate and schooling and completely understaffed, and nobody's doing anything there. And Steve McQueen himself has said that he faced discrimination and his education and he was dyslexic and had eyesight problems and was sort of being shoved into these classes that were from or for, like manual labors. Like that kind of track for a career. It's a very sweet and tender film about this young boy and the adults around him. Trying to come to terms with his process and his journey and what's going on with him. He's not sharing a lot. His mother's very stern, and there's this advocacy group that sort of infiltrates these schools to see who is sort of being discriminated against. And it's about his journey to Getting the right kind of educational support. So it's very poignant. It's a really tender and beautiful and moving film. Christie, Where does this rank for you In the Syriza's. Well, nothing contest Lovers Rock, which was the second film in the series, which is just exquisite, and it's pulling from that one. Yeah, it's beautiful, but they're all trying to do different things. So while they're all of the peace within this West Indian community and Britain in the seventies eighties, you know each of them is discreet and tells its own story, and they're trying to achieve different Goals. So education is one of the more straightforward and trees in the anthology. But because we're in Steve McQueen's hands, it's never dry. It's never simple. You have both the artistry and the vision that is his signature. You he'll find inspired ways and to showing you what his characters go through. But there's also Underlying emotional resonance. And so it even into the simplest things like the opening sequence shows this boy who was 12 years old and everyone in his family just getting ready for their day and just the way they go about their day, making breakfast and rushing off, brushing teeth and trying to drink glass of orange juice and you know, putting on your uniform to head out the door. He can express so much so efficiently, just a small period of time to really set the stage and then let the storytelling and let the characters experiences carry us. Away. Okay, great. Moving on to the disaster part of our segment, And this first one is called Greenland. It's directed by Rick Roman wa, and it's about an apocalyptic series of comets. Hurtling toward Earth, and here's a clip from the trailer. First.

"Absolutely out of remind this movie Also appearing in this movie is clive. Owen and chris. You sent me a note last night. That said i need you to explain to me. What happened to clive owen. Yeah i can't. You can't get a bet for clive. Owen his james bond. If i told sean fantasy that in two thousand and fourteen that clive owen would be making. Ups commercials and showing up for nine minutes in the informer and we wouldn't be talking about him as replacing. Daniel craig like tell you like run it down like this guy was like in pole position. Yeah i said to you last night. That in the last fifteen years this is a dude who was the star the star of movies for mike nichols and alfonso cuaron. He was at the app. He he starred in movies that spike lee me. If you see inside man. You're like that's paul newman. Yes and right now. He is doing a two bit extended cameo in the informer. And i how much money has been paid. I don't know is literally wearing the outfit. He wears in the ups commercial like looked into logistics commercial. So like he's definitely like i'm shooting. It's silver cup already. You guys need me to come on. You make the payment to this. Came island account and i will come and read the bullshit. Dial you also made a good point. Which is that He's just playing a british. Fbi agent which is a thing. How many british f. b. i. agents are there. I don't know but this is an issue. That comes up a lot in these movies especially for triple nine where choose eligible for at various points just drops the american accent even though he plays in atlanta bank robber and this happens a lot with a lot. Lot of of accents stuff upping. The star of this film is a guy named common common also has been has been eating on this kind of work. Now on the high end he gets to be in the john wick franchise. Right john wick is not garbage crime. I want i wanna make that very clear and also action. it's action there's something very elevated about that. There's the hand to hand combat the kind of fighting this sort of kung fu influence of that movie. I think elevates it clearly out of garbage crime but common i will. He'll do anything. And like i don. I don't begrudge him that at all. He started smoking. Aces where i was like. Why is common the sensitive thoughtful progressive rapper of the nineteen nineties starring in smoking and then pretty much only does these movies. He was an american gangster. He was in st kings. He wanted he is eating off of this whole genre. It's amazing it's all common does is get democrats elected and starring in garbage crime. I'm i'm really happy for him. you know would say i soft recommended i liked it. Yeah i thought it was fine and may have is definitely like not board and i was. I was pretty into it. I think that if you were going to rank them. I wouldn't necessarily put them into the top five but it is exactly what you want. It's exactly like the reliable. Be minus movie that you want at this time of year coming up soon. We have a few movies. That i think are gonna fit the bill for garbage crime. I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna tease them. You used not no remorse. Which is the new michael jordan. I think it's a tom. Clancy project right. Yeah which is coming to amazon probably later next year and directed by stefanos selima who did on some episodes of zero zero zero and sicario dave's sold auto so he has a very clear style which is garbage crime The little things film that john. Hancock is directing and that's coming out next year movie called the asset. That is coming out next year. These are all potential garbage crime movies. I was wondering if you think the New taylor sheridan angelina jolie. Movie is also going to be. Are you up on this. I know you love taylor. Sheridan this is like about an assassin rate. It is yeah it might be to international to fit the bill here. It's called those who wish me dead you know. I hope it fits the bill de tried to do this before his salt kinda rate. She did but same thing. It was a little too big I hope this doesn't get too big hope. It stays on the ground. Actually let me ask you one thing wind river. Do you think wind river is garbage crime. It's really tough. Because when river release split the yellowstone difference. Here a really drags it. It's it's more western. I think it is crime. But i think there are elements of it. That are definitely like because we can do an entire heller high water wind river. Sort of red state. Jonah movie that is also like a thriving thing but yeah i. I wouldn't necessarily put when river garbage crime. Okay you want to give out some awards. Yeah let's do it. Here's what we're gonna do. I collaborated we nominated. People in the traditional oscar categories and. I'm gonna let you choose. Who should win these categories. Okay thank you because you're the you're the grandmom of garbage crime. Okay first category best supporting actor. It's almost impossible to make this list as it is usually in the actual oscars this is. This is the really the money crowd for all the reasons that you said. This is a stacked category. We have six nominees. Technically seven nominees in this category. Here they are going to read them to you. Can you can shout out what you really appreciate it in them. Scoot mcnairy for sleepless k. So i just to say that aside from his scoot mcnairy is important to recognize that slicked back hair and goatee as cannon in every one of these movies. Someone has that going. I'm going to pursue that. Look soon i think i was thinking about a goat to pull off goatee it seriously. Why not like wh- like just turn the zoom video off. I pay like ethan. Hawke has been so good at it for so many years and no one gives them ship. Goatee that's passe. that's out of style. There's like a hawk goatee. It's cool hawk. rabin mcnary can do it. Speaking of reviews e- giovanni ribisi nominated here for contraband. Some wild stuff yeah just really put some cajun seasoning in this one but rabih z is like a great like black t. Shirt always hanging out at the pool hall seems to be able to broker stolen goods double crossing five six people. It's it's awesome your dad mark rylance for his work in sean. Penn's the gunman dude. Why is mark rylance in the governor. Why did why did the happen. Why is why is pardoning in the gunman got more here. And why do we say gunman. Why isn't it because it's one word right. You wanted to be gunman. Yeah if it was two words it should be. You and i should write a movie called gunman two words right and then pitcher to sean penn. No no it's a new twist see spin off different guy barry pepper for his work in snitch one of the all-time great goatee unreal unreal. So he has kind of like the the more of the Klondike gold rush. Look going like like one of those guys who's like caterpillar bulldozer. In a naturally beautiful area like trying to dig up eighty dollars in gold. Yeah he looks like tom. Waits in. Balata buster scruggs and stitches and david air snitch. David air. I think rick roman wa right. Sorry who is also one of the lords of this category and then couple. More dan stevens for his work. In welcoming the tombstones Really going down market. I really loved his move. Post downton abbey. When he was making movies like the guest and walk among the tombstones or he was like. I'm not a pretty boy. I will fuck you up. And i'm on drugs. Really great great pivot for him and then common ti. Because they're just in all these movies they're they're nominated for all their performances usually in the back of narmer truck at some point commoner. Ti will pop up and just like the streets nowhere we are. You'll see these roles too but his performances are not good in comments and ti performances are good has t i cutthroat city. I haven't seen cutthroat city yet He's okay..

SNL No couldn't curry And who got on the Air I was on the snows on the earth. Like let's try Canadian style style. A lot of people came from second city can yeah. SNL became so popular like a lot of the initial cast. Came from from the Second City up in Canada. And so then they were like well. Let's make our own show and then. NBC picked it up for those nine but they did episodes episodes and they'd be like half hour shows in the seventies morale on PBS. Yeah Oh yeah interests the public broadcasting system. I guess it was a movie then so do you. You think that you should watch any or were you like really cared but this is a bunch of dudes. Aaron female comedy is Cammy first of all male arms funny screaming again. Scream scream at the time you convinced me. That was the one I just never really cared. It looked dusty. It looked uninviting tape beurre. Yeah like it looks like you know like like the quality of the film it was like Man Pristine things in ten eighty p thing as a kid and no one was saying like this is so funny. You got to see that nobody was saying that you know like I say I feel people who love by like older brother loved it. There's always some story I didn't like am because I wasn't a dude. I wasn't seeking it out. Funniest that I when I found it there was not covered it. Well I I. In in the ancient tomb on buried occurs in Benin is talking about dead parents. I don't remember talking about it with the only friend that I was a friend in high school. Who shared affinity for it and we ended up being a comedy Act Together you're GONNA do act but we were very influenced by his name. Was Rick Roman interesting dead. Now sorry will did you do. I agree potty no called could you call a podcast. Cereal like see her issue sands did I was on the episode serial podcast. Nobody it was. It was a parody of that. I guess I was in his basement for reason. Hi Shaw there and I was like what the fuck is the name of his Studio Basement Studio. He called something. Never Bro. Bro Bro Okay. That's very ill zigzags Hasbro Because at the title zigzags has broke me. It really is well. We're really contender for the PODCAST. I listen to you was called to live and die in La. Have you listen to this. I've heard of it. I have not heard it really good. And there's twelve episodes plus bonus this one is about people who've died in la or live one story which they did both get yourself is about this woman and who was twenty five and she was an aspiring actress and La. Last year she went missing she lived the last year live in Hollywood. Who just like going acting classes lived in Hollywood? I'm just saying it was our doorstep to understand you could walk past your on the street. Cackling the Laura do a live and don such pride. My man could live and die every they're still with then that's one requirement. They can't live anymore so so this woman would pass you on the street. No I'm just saying she put it past me on the streets possible possible wanted to me on the streets. All she wanted so she knows she could have panther. He wanted to pass me on the street she shaved. Let's be on the streets and curtain. She died so stop laughing but no the podcast is so interesting because this woman went missing she was having a relationship with this other guy from her acting class. who was engaged to someone else so they were having an affair? Glory hit no. No this who says name was demand Wilson's spots this spots or Chris the Oh it's worse than uh-huh but you'll find out more about his name if you listen but me in the spotlight. Yeah that's what I always said. I'm ready to play. They both met in this acting class and then he was cheating on his fiancee with her. Or whatever it's hot and then she goes missing so basically the police are on the hunt you know they're on the case but they don't really get that thorough with it and this journalist who's making the podcast good goes out of his way to work with a private investigator to try to solve the mystery. Man He he he does. Yeah and it's spots when I'm not telling you what this what the takes many twists and turns spot. I'm not gonNa tell you what happens. Is this the Nicer Levi L.. Strauss thing man and what that is is. He knew that he Laura Doppler dump. Did he kill her. WHO's Neal's rouse was the guy who wrote wrote that book the game about the thing that I game? Every day there was as I was. I was told about an argument that happened in a text. Thread where people were bagging on. Neil Strauss the the author of the game and then someone thought that it was the movie the Game Liser we so bad at this writing the game. Yeah I liked that movie. Wow Neil Strauss's a murderer that's so not not investigations. Let's do you like stuff like that. Typically barely like listening to you talk about it. I'm not as interesting as the pod. Honestly I feel like cereal turned me off to those kinds. Ah here's the two things that I've listened to in that vein cereal which was so disappointing. I know that was such a disappointing early. where it's like when they realized they weren't GonNa GonNa wrap it up and then like I also in the third episode? They were asking for donations. I now and then the other one was. You must have people can donate to us if they Al Take Lee's donate donated to cereal. Donate an equal amount. Yes yes and that sounds fair. Doesn't it prisons. Yes and present so any equal amount plus a present and that way one of us will murder one of the other people okay. Who would you murder out of the three of us? If I had to kill one of you and Monday fog and Mary I myself and kill you myself can kill Gil both of you God and then Funky old fucking psycho typically like like true crime. I don't think I like fake. You must remember. This know who I've listened to that that that it's it's hard to describe. It's it's a this person who does these kind of deep dives on different historical events. Are they not. I'm not sure but there. The one I listen to on a road trip was about the the Manson family murders uh-huh and the host has a of sort of peculiar way of speaking over enunciates as I've sometimes and and there's sometimes not like there are certain things that she says to crisply and clearly like no one says that word. That sounds like it's take fourteen. Yes but then she also kept saying unfortunately she she does a dis for T- thing drives me nuts teasing. I don't know I don't title. Wyatt bothers me so much. Now I really bothers me and there was giving an example. There was there was a motorcycle gang that came up in this story again and again whose same was the straight Satans. Oh God and she kept straight saying straight Satans and it was driving me straight. Here's Ace I actually people say important. It drives important important. Yeah important we're taking down other podcasters castors. I love it is important does yes she does so much of it. It's a one floor so I don't like true. Crime Funny. Fake crimes like funny fake crime around man steals a trampoline fake it's crime. He jumps on a trampoline trampoline to get out of it. He steals many. Use it to get away from everybody like balances away. I'm in between. I likely ms but with a laugh track. What's is going on with your wrist? Someone calling me my phone. Tell me oh my thought my my watch fan call is that from the Apple Company or did it's nuts love. The band saw stoppable. What do you mean you guys start to get you guys the band watch people? I had one for a while. In fact I think I've been given like three or four. I tried to run for a bit. I got a very read small delicate watch and loved it but eventually was like we'll get my wrist all day. Never look look at it second of all so you're not going to look at it every day to wear it every day but I'm also not going to be someone who's like what time is it. One of those stuck out her arm like the most when she was a scarecrow or awkward way of looking at her wrist. Stephanie Allen has a really great like big watch chunky walk at. It's like but it's like big like nick cave practically limited taming wild horses. Let me guess WHO's watching. WHO's inoperable? Yeah you'll get it and play fuck. Mary Kill Aaron Not Mary. Yeah Fuck Mary. So you'd fuck Mary..

"End of it. That is he says he says leave. That's not here. That's what it's not gonNA be in here for Berge Dude the the last night of this. What stickers seat is this why add this at all? There's no comedy in this at all. It's human but there is some like you know some humor. But it's it's a humorless film. Why have the lasting be so silly? Yeah to the extent Edwards. Nick Nolte talking about peeing in a pool. It's I could not believe it might. It's insane my favorite thing is the the lady who's running the place. Oh Yeah it's like it's called Beta bathing and they both give each other. Look like you don't think it's been cooked by water. And then yeah that is the end of Angel is wonderful. Yeah maybe that's what the next move is going to be. A bad is about their their holistic experience. They open up like a float office of their own major Mike kills people with acupuncture needles. Oh Yeah right itself. How does what about Joe? ROGAN'S PODCAST Steve say. Would you recommend this movie i. It's my yes. It's my favorite of these movies. It's too long I it. It might be illegal to make a movie under two hours these days. I don't know if it's possible. Double supposed to be an hour and thirty minutes to this one. And it's mostly okay. It did. It's bad it's totally bad it's a dud. But it's kind of fun on not as good in this and that's it it's it's a light recommend you take is say watch four nolte. Almost everything else about it is is garbage. I wouldn't say laugh out loud to. Oh Yeah I mean I ask this movie. Some of these lines are ridiculous. I action action is fine. I guess it's not as well stage as something like this should be. I think but not is so good that I would say it's even worth the the two hours which is a lot. I kind of agree. This alight recommend it some parts. I felt the explosions got boring for me. It's kind of just that but you know that's what it is. What it is multi is good? Yeah it's not not as racist as the other ones. I like that not at all. Yeah and they actually are the villain. Is Somebody worth going at. Like fucking private army. Shed like this. This is we hate movies. This is our worst of the year before two thousand nineteen but like it's okay to get some pleasure out of these things we would. We could have done Rambo last blood blood but there's nothing to talk about racism racism and the last one so I'm glad we did this instead. And what the hell check it out. I am recommending this this movie like it's definitely the best of these three so far like on the North Korean Murder Plain. Its no no. I think that's totally the second one. I thought was really bad. I got Jaffa craftsmen the best one. I mean it's like the nolte stuff really Amsterdam. AM stood up. And I think like by acting in scenes with Nick Nolte so much in the movie. amsoil Gerard Butler's Sherman's yeah. The explosions are dumb. I mean I still think. Bat initial attack with the drones is fucking great. It's fun this stuff at the end like ads video game me but like I went in knowing what these movies are. I wasn't surprised I saw two of them like so. It's fine and like Chris to like who they're going. After in this movie I think is really interesting. That's why like what this movie is saying saying what it thinks it's saying for the most part I kind of applaud and just like appreciate because you don't see it in this kind of movie making to officer or this genre I should say I mean again. See Rambo last blood for what it normally is Yeah Yeah exactly. So I don't know I mean I found it totally watchable. Yes to your to your complaint. Steve Two hours is way too much. Every American Mike Movies should be between ninety. Five one hundred minutes at top certain uh-huh and there's definitely a lot in here. You could excise like the fucking pool pissing at the time we get to Berlin has fallen. Please make this eighty nine we. We've got three more so we will make them cannon movies big movies along. Yeah now. That's that's completely fair. I feel this is also the closest to a big dumb. Can it is. Yeah which I think. Why part somewhere in the back of my head like the ape part of my brain was like say you gotta get a little more gusher with the blood but asked yeah yeah? This is not entirely bloodless but they do like cut away. It could be a lot more gross. Whatever but it's not about that is angels fall in from last year two thousand nine hundred directed by Rick Roman law so next week the worst of twenty nineteen rolls on Steam Saint Aca? What are we talking around here? We are talking about.

absolutely love as a culture we never had one with Peyton we never had one we had a good one was paid but it was never like our our bell cow we never had the interlocutory surrender retirement early here now we have an offense of line that can control games and I said because we have that for the first time because we have a quarterback like Jacoby percentage to make every play in a defense that is hungry young and swarming it has all the makings to be a team that can make a long run in the playoffs can really go deep I've said they're gonna want to Super Bowl just strictly because it makes me feel better be happy if they do but what do you see on this court's offense line is called CM that potentially make some different than years past codes I love it I mean they're they're one of those my favorite team to turn on the film on Monday morning obviously the queue you know he's the one that always spotlighting a Jersey boy from Red Bank you know I I I I got a chance to talk then we would come out and just what an awesome kid but you know you mentioned that you have paid and then the office a line of all the grind PM I mean he would slap you right now if you're just getting into that right now I know all right away to get over there could be waiting outside the door I know what all I know Sean John let me clear this up so I got I got right now right yeah but I'm friends with those guys never relied on the office line it was always an offense where the office of line had to do their job to protect a team but it feels like now the culture almost winning games of the office of line so shut up the Jeff survey team will job Charlie Johnson Terry Glenn everybody like that but it never felt like the office one was winning games is always a great now the office line is a little like winning games for them it feels like I well remember kicker you gonna will back pedaled nicely done hi the only difference is the end official the comes the fine is Jeff and paid going out on the side of the ball block all right but if it's true they were passing their passport office no evil Edgerrin James they will you know look it was never about the one doing this offers a line to your point is totally different they're not just running the football they're not just blocking people the punishing people I call quick note that the Punisher but the biggest change in this struggling last year and locations offer the Lycos gets Google Amazon longer there but what has made it the culture is still there and you know sometimes it's all about bring in you know as far as hiding week all that stuff but it's the culture the personality and by bringing in breaking stock and and you know bring him in you don't quite know and having a healthy right Chile and after the two thousand hours doing things I never saw him do early on these guys are pushing people they're finishing blocks off you know because dongle twenty or down the field trying to get a second bowl scoop no I I never saw him do that early on I credit quite Nelson for bringing that culture and bringing that mindset that look we're going to dominate people we're gonna be the first one down to pick a running back up the complexity count how many times quite Nelson and this offer the line at picking a running back up whether five years down the field when you're down the field a costly run around our guide I think what that gestures making changes and you could tell that it started to become the culture yeah I'm excited about it I'm thankful for it as an Indianapolis Colts fan got a lot of friends in a facility till still be nice to see them happy John o'hara I I have no idea how the car rides go but I know this interview was incredible I hope you come back I am so thankful ladies and gentleman seal on on the phone network follow him on Twitter at at a Sean o'haire sixty you're the absolute best John thanks for your time and good brain on choose man this call also long snapper people forget Schoenherr a long snapper very much for the bread good guy it was cool conversation well we were ever whenever somebody who has a big time football bring like a agrees with me I feel I feel real small bills good right after okay your own person accurate it's a situation where Shaun o'hara is a guy who.

"For your lives near his personal laptop, computer. Welcome back spanker. Hey spanker. Here's the story that I wanted to tell the construction equipment reminded me of it. My comedy partner. When I started out was got him Rick Roman, and Rick and I went to high school together. He was a senior. And I was a freshman. We met doing the school play Oliver. Oh, what did you play in? What did he play? He played Mr. Sauerbery, the undertaker. I don't remember. I was just in the chorus. I had an I know I've met I've told you this before I had one line that I can't remember. But I always I was like the bartender, and I had but during the show, you were employing people who consider themselves one of you. I did. I definitely did that I definitely I did not extol the virtues of food too bad food part. Well, it's very glorious. No that I've never seen a commercial, dude. Okay. And. So there are so many songs that were used in commercials. Growing up that I just knew from commercials and were surprised to find them be from plays and stuff like foon. Wounded tried Germany wounded that from that was from. Oh, it's from. Santa music. But oh, yeah. Remember that at all? Yeah. Yeah. Forgettable song. Never Ever get get it it out. out. Keys, keys, keys. The famous best from sticks. So really quick. Consider yourself was the something we had to sing my children's theatre. Auditions everyone had sing it that makes sense. So you're auditioning children for theater, you ran the sand in order to get this job Scott to show the kids how to be in a play. I got him. See? He was like Shek it out this consider slow. This like Sally Bowles from cafe. Could sit me garter Bill. Neil isn't weird. It's weird. Her name is Sally Bowles. And she wore a bowler ad. It's weird. Oh, yeah. I just got a chill. I'll always worried Awkar pants. I thought I'd find something better. That's what comedy is just like starting. Get out there. Ninety nine percent of comedy. Through through Queen. Yes, Queen and can't always do. So Rick was we stayed in touch. We we became fast friends, and we say we did. And we stayed a Swiss we were like assist. And then when he he went to school in Arizona, and then he would come home, and we would hang out. And there was this guy that Rick in Ricks class sky, knee, Mark. And we for some reason Rick. Well, I was very easily swayed. Rick like torment this guy in a weird way. Like, my Rick, and I went along with it. He he invented Rick rolling. What is it that you would roll onto that is it? I know there's a website that explains it let me all send it to you. Oh that I'll find it. So continue I'm gonna find this website. They'll send it he would just like we would just do. We would. We would fuck with him. All the time. He was he was a waiter at the Howard Johnson's near a school. And we would go there. And we would just like we would comedic -ly torment this guy. And we were so delighted with ourselves. We didn't realize that it was genuinely annoying to him. You know what I mean? And but one of the things that we used to regularly was we would drive around. And we would if we saw construction equipment. We would pick it up, and we would put it on his front porch. Right. So saw horses just like you sat horses. I'd get them as any horse. We saw. We will lead it to Mark click on that website that explains Rick rolling, by the way, I can't believe this is happening YouTube dot com. Turn it up. Wait. No. This is bad. Yeah. That's it. This is really getting in the way of the Rick rolling, by the way, the the pre roll I knew what this song is. But went to Rick role. You just were Rick rolled. I just did it to you. That's growing is is when you insert. You into something else. It is when you trick someone into clicking on that video. Oh my God. Is he?.

"So the idea of doing like absurdist comedies about it just became less and less tenable at that point. And so when you're working on a more serious subject. Do you find yourself having to hold yourself down with the humor that encroaches probably in the writing stage? Also, the shooting are you monitoring that or you're having to deal with that at all. It's it's actually the best because you are totally free usually with a laugh driven comedy, like a, you know, just stepbrothers, for example. You gotta pulverize you have to keep coming at them every lying. You're you never wanna be pinned in by a bad joke a quote bad joke. And I was just I remember rewriting the big short and just feeling as free as I'd ever felt. And it was like oh my God. I love this. And even we would vice. Yeah, there's some funny stuff in there. But it just felt like I'm as free as can be like, I can write whatever needs to be. The written. So we we had really put ourselves in one of the strictest hardest genres there is which is laugh driven comedy. And it is hard. I mean, I joked with south Rogan after we finished the big short south Rogan's like because he had done a preacher, and he said, which is harder dramatic stuff or comedy. I immediately. I was a comedy definitely like at the end of the day. I'm exhausted and Rogan was like, yes. Absolutely. Like, it's like in a muscular way, it makes you tired. So I've just loved this experience of the big short succession, and and vice it's just been so freeing and I've never had such enjoyable writing days. Like, I sit in my office, and sadly, our family dog passed away in the last year pumpkin who was a shepherd mix, but he would sit on my chair in the back behind me. And I would just. Right. And I remember the freedom of those days. It felt so great and God bless comedy. I love comedy. But I've had the most amazing times writing these movies. There's no question. We talked recently about improv and your history in improv theatre and a mentor, a friend named L close who had invented and sort of. Furthered improv into a kind of. Encased experience. Something called the herald, which is a style of improv that's done in L A lot these days and Adam work done his own version called the Armando which is that quite different than the herald. I mean, it's sort of like our when we came to Chicago it was around nineteen ninety and you after a member and this is hard to get your head around. There was no internet. So we wanted to do comedy. And I was a junior at temple university. Where did you go to school, by the way, it goes, I island school design providence much cooler than the school? I went to a regret asking the question. But anyway. He went to raise the where the pixies game from. I went to temple university where Bill Cosby came from. So did not go. Well, but anyway, no. So I was in this City, College and. We were all doing stand up comedy. We were doing sketch and we were just hungry. We just wanted to do more stuff and a friend of mine Rick Roman went to Chicago, and he came back, and he said there is a scene. They're like no seeing you have ever seen, and it's Dell closed this guy is teaching long-form in providence. So what does that mean? And he said, basically, it means you step on stage, and whatever you say happens, and the only rule is that the other person can't say no to what you said. And you can't say no to what they've said. And at that exact moment, I set dropping out of college. I'm selling my comic book collection. I bought a Chrysler New Yorker nineteen Seventy-eight Chrysler New Yorker, and I called my parents said I'm done I'm leaving. And they just were horrified and yelling at me. And I was like no no is what I've been waiting for..

"Watching them all back to back to back. I i kinda think it's hard to separate season from season. It's really. I'm telling you they all mesh together so perfectly. They pick up where they left off. So that when you're at the end of one season and your and you pick up at the beginning of the next one. It's like fifty hour movie. It really is that story just doesn't it doesn't lose any time in the story telling us a well you don't forget any of the characters is very gratifying. Watch it that way. And and it's a it's an incredible feat. It's like watching these amazing movies. I just can't believe what they've created. I can't believe you just can't believe the scale of it whenever we watched it so i have to take back. Some of the comments made about. It is what i'm saying.
