"That was his own reasons. Mark modane outfield left brandon doll his right hand. Man he left. These are those two moves won't affect the football team. Is there anything going. I don't know we'll see. But i think right now. All of these are just kind of their own different entities. So i wouldn't worry about it too much. I really would show man. I appreciate avenue guys. Listen to me. I really do. You know how we do. We just go and we just do news of the day of the week at. I think we're gonna have more podcasts. Coming up when we we're gonna have our new geyser contractors or part timers and that's speedy williams and that's marcus johnson and that's matt holder and they're all studs and i love having them on staff so you know what we do. We just news notes. It I wanna make the smartest raider fans in the nation. And so let's continue the news and notes lamar jackson week. One opponent quarterback former. Nfl mvp in is on the covert list and he may be out a little longer. I'm so that's the case. Maybe he's gonna have a hard time getting ready for week one. Maybe the raiders will see rusty quarterback. Hey you take it right. Let's go Jon gruden today. Or tuesday said max. Grabby leads the team effort. I think i think is going to have a nice season. i really do. i really do. Rubs his look like we said he's added thirteen pounds of muscle. The important thing. Is he lose any that wicked speed. So we'll take that right. We'll take that and run with it. A victory for said that of the athletic course says that he thinks the you know six receivers are in stone and that's rugs and they words and brown and renfro and snead and zeta jones. Gruden loves as jones. What i wanna see. Jay jones play well on the field. It had been raider. I think he's been around for twenty six games and he's had thirty four catches in grew always tops up him play. Well that's what i want. Is that too much. I don't know so. That'd be dylan's donor. Who got a lot of pub before camp. Maybe not make the team. What was this. What what else going. Nate hobbes's rookie. Fifth round pick is getting a lot of love. He seems like he's a great fit for mr bradley's defense and he's getting a lot of slot work and we've never Watson out for the first two games his what seems to be an annual suspension. Maybe hopscotch has a chance to win the job. It doesn't look like a make. Robinson is gonna make that push but again we haven't even been to the preseason games yet at starts next week What else rick. Priscilla the special teams gophers is helping with the running backs a little bit in light of wilson's retirement. I found that to be interested. Boy jon gruden now jon gruden. He likes doesn't he. He likes to aachen it up. But this guy loves leatherwood. Loves can't believe how. How few mental mistakes he's not making and that's important. I think the defense align is work in progress. I think the defensive line we're going to see different sets and don't throw away. You know feral quite yet. But if he doesn't start in year three that means they're not. He's going to leave the team after year for they're not gonna do the option but let's see what happens but i think Solomon thomas can move around a met diggers and and defensive tackle. So we'll see. I mean it's a. It's a more depth defensive line. I think those guys still. There's debiting those guys still need to stay healthy and that goes to this whole team of course and you know you look at. What's going on with the colts. You know whence out quinton nelson out. I mean five to twelve weeks of the same foot injury this is this could be an amc amc Wildcard competitor. you know. Injuries is gonna hate everybody but boy. It's hit the colts hard hard to the coast..

"That could really do some damage. They've also got some very good players out in the outfield Jd Davis leftfielder. He hit over twenty home runs as well an. An eight ninety five PSO again another guy that's putting up a lot of power numbers and I think again. That's kind of the trend that baseball is going towards, and that's what baseball is like nowadays and the mets could be a team that could really benefit from that style. They've got a lot of power guys and not to mention. They got a lot of power. Guys at the. The plate, but they've also got a lot of power. Guys in the rotation one of them being Jacob degrom I mean he's one of the best pitchers in the MLB. They've got him. WHO's a you know back to back? Cy Young winner got. Rick. Priscilla, who's a former CY young award winner? They've also got Marcus Stroman who I. Think could be a very good piece in that rotation. Rotation came from Toronto last year. He's got he's got A. He's got a lot of upside. He's got a lot of potential a couple years ago. He was all star I know. His record doesn't really last year. Really reflect his talent level in his skill, but I think that he could be a vital vital member to that rotation, but with the Graham and Priscila kind of leading the. The charge on that rotation. It's going to be a long uphill climb for some teams that are going to be having to face off against gram. He's one of the hardest throwing pitchers in the MLB. He's got a great speed on his fastball. and he's got a lot of left in the tank. I mean he's got a long career ahead of him and unfortunately stroman back. Back to him, he's on the ten day de l., but again nothing of a concern I'm sure he'll probably be back in the rotation soon enough, but with that dangerous pitching and a slew of capable hitters, this mets team could make series push for a wildcard spot, and even make a run at the division now. The third place team I definitely think will be the nationals I think. Think. They fit very very well right here. I personally do not think that they're going to have the same outcome the same season that they did last year. I think they're going to have a little bit of a world series hangover. If you will I think that might hang over their heads a little bit. I think that they're going to definitely come ready to play throughout the rest. Rest of the season, but I think that they're definitely going to not have the same outcome the same result as they did last year because they don't have the same players I mean they've lost. A lot of is lost. Rendell, who is a big part of that team They still have Turner. They still got Howie Kendrick. They still got some players still got. Some guys are very. Aware and or well known in that in that locker room and in that Dugout, but here's the other thing that I bring up before twenty eighteen between the years of two thousand, thirteen and twenty, seventeen all the teams that won those World Series Of the twenty twelve giants, the twenty thirteen Red Sox, two thousand fifteen giants, and the two thousand sixteen royals all. All four were unable to make the playoffs the next year, so recent history is not really on their side, and again missing Anthony Rundown, and he's coming off one of his biggest, if not his biggest years, but they've got to bright stars, just like the braves they've got Turner and soda and I think one Soto is going to be one of the best. In the in the long run I think he's got a lot of potential I think if he again if he can figure out the fielding, not the greatest field or not the greatest outfielder, but if he's able to figure that out if he's able, get those those fundamentals down pat. That's already there, and he's twenty twenty one years old, and he's up there very comfortably. I mean you can tell. He's just a naturally born professional hitter. Another guy that I think is going to be huge for them in the long run because of his veteran ship because of his ability to play in. Game Situations. He came up big for them last year in the playoffs. Howie Kendrick I think he I mean he was vital for them in the series against the dodgers. He's got a lot left in the tank again. Another guy that I think could benefit from the universal. D. H., just how more solo soon could Kendrick getting a little older know he's? He's definitely up age, and by putting him in the lineup as D. H. you're now allowing him to be in the line of every single day, and he doesn't have to worry about feeling, so he's able to have his bat in the lineup, no matter what, but he doesn't have to worry about getting injured in the field or causing any sort of. Air Or misjudgment or whatever out in the field for his team another aspect we're going to move away from the hitting now and get into the pitching, because the pitching is lethal, I mean it is incredibly lethal Max Scherzer, who I think in my opinion is been the most consistent most dominating pitcher in the last six seven years. I mean he's got a string of consecutive seasons. I think it's eight now of two hundred plus. And Chris has done the same thing. He's been very dominant, so you know there's been other guys have also done very similar. Incredible feats like Sherzer but I mean the guy can shove the Guy Pitch Him Strasbourg, and then Patrick Gordon and I think Patrick Corbin's a guy that people might look at Sherzer in Strasbourg and they kind of you and all at that and I get that. I get because I mean they're. They're big promenade. Guys are big players that are big time guys that have performed well and have been. Performing at really one of the highest levels possible for many many years, Patrick Corbin is another guy that performs the just of a highest level. He the guy that is able to get out. He's a high strikeout guy. He's I mean he was tenth in the League last year in case, two, hundred, thirty eight, he posted a three twenty five year. He was fourteen and seven. He put together some really good. Good numbers and if people think okay, we're pastures overpass. Strasbourg were in the clear. It's like well. No, you're not. You still have corn and I think those first three guys. I mean those are probably the most dangerous I three pitchers in a rotation in the MLB I'm GonNa go ahead and say that right now I really do think that Corman could be a guy that will have some sorta factor. In this entire rotation and I think that he could definitely again as the season goes on, he could pose a big time problem. Let's say shows. Her gets the loss. One night or Strasbourg gets lost one night. They still have Corbin to rely on batch of Corbin's another. And again he also came out of the bullpen last year some in the in the in the postseason in the world series, so the team. Team that has no problem putting some of their starters in the bullpen, and he came out ready to go, and it's so. That has to happen with a shortened season. They get in the playoffs a little bit quicker. You know probably won't have to do that I'm I'm assuming he'll probably just stay in the rotation, but if they have to maybe take him out of the bullpen for a game or whatever. Short Day of rest, he's able to do that, so I really do believe that. This is a team that they could make a run. They could not kind of my inbetween team. That's why I left him at third with them being under five hundred through the first sixty games last year. It's not a team that's going to start scorching hot and if you're not a team, that's like that this year. You're going to have a hard time. They got going a little bit later and right now especially with this season. They don't have later. There's no such thing as later in the season. Because I mean like that in a blink of an eye, we're going to be in the postseason, so whatever kind of ground they can try and make throughout this. You know first ten fifteen games of the season that we will have you know we'll see where they go..

"I I buy one hundred percent that they it might be unwilling to bring those bring both of those guys back but unable is a not not the other thing is that this division is really tight and their primary. Hi Mary rivals have been busy. Of course the phillies signed wheeler and might do more of the braves have been signing guys left and right the mets well. The mets traded tragic Maricic. But not if you look at the projected the mets have been like every so often they do something surprising it if I'm not yeah. I'm not saying that like I know. No Red Zone is going to the mets or something like that but they certainly not out of the realm of possibility that that the mets who by the way have you know have some of their own uh productive share and cost control pliers and we're not that bad lash no and they traded for Stroman. They'll have him for a whole season. And if you look at the projected T- Maurer or for the teams in this division at Fan Grass. The mets are actually on top. Whether you believe that or not the Netzer right now even with Strasbourg neck and neck with Atlanta so the nets are very much in a situation even after signing Strasbourg where everyone really matters and one more big signing the reknown signing if they were to bring him back. I think they would be the clear favorites in this division but right now it's pretty much a toss up so it's not as if they can just stop right now and feel confident going into next season Abe. What happens and so the mets projections when they signed Rick Priscilla game-changer Or when you an assessment creeping Z. Boy Home Please analyze that for me guys. We could do another podcast. When Rick Porcelains Zach? You've been kinda quiet. Do you have anything else to say before we we wrap up. I'm just thinking about how maybe the dodgers aside side a lot of the teams that would be potentially in on red don't aren't necessarily the ones that are in on coal. So you could see a bit of a bifurcation going forward and the teams inter you said in those top free agents and then just the last thing. I'm curious about is how this Strasbourg deal affects the market for the remaining second tier pitchers like if Cole either goes quickly or just prices out a lot of other teams does this move the needle for Hinge in Rio or Dallas cycle like if the angels miss out on coal I think might be a great alternative as someone who can pitch in front of a defense with android and Simmons David Fletcher And I'm curious to see what happens with those guys and hopefully Distress brick move not only does good things for the discourse now in for the nationals going forward but for also making sure the rest of the market moves at a at a rapid pace your point about setting the market like in addition this like Zach wheelers. What like twenty three million dollars a year? Something in in that neighborhood Cole Hamels one for eighteen. Like even solid pitching does not come cheap anymore. So we'll see we'll see how this shakes out. I think that's that's one of the reasons seen. What some of those guys You know that next next tier down of gotten on a year to year basis would make me more comfortable with giving Strasbourg thirty five million dollars a year in Col- like just the keys to the job so it's only been one weeks and Mike. Rizzo told reporters that he'd been drunk for a month so it's possible that that's cut for us. Gut Him at just the right right time guy considered I'll tell you what they know how to celebrate a championship in Washington which we three that. The Alex vetch skin toward force with the Stanley Cup. This is it. It seems to be a good place to win a tidal. Maybe that that factor didn't transfer decision-making all right. Was it Houston earlier this year? They had to shift on somebody hit one in the whole any range to his left, that I'm gonna hand it on my card, but there was just something about it. It was weird it in my brain was like I'm calling bouncer to the right side in my head. I'm saying who the heck is the Togo? Here's the pitch. The boy that's up. One. Those strikes the boy. Luke. Who has singled his also struck out looking at like the call? Seems that Rick priscilla's really found a good rhythm Tipo is up. He's ready to go sees the baseball. He's on top of the rubber, and he wants to keep dealing auto swag, a and that's basically to center field that industry. Of nine and a roll set down by poor Selo. They chant for loon fear at WalMart. I was shot out of. Rocket over the head of Rick selloff. Pitching machine. Put it. Put it in there. The old iron Mike and bam. By the void. Erin just come into play to return back by force. Missed it. Less. Here's the pitch. Swag a little roller towards third Taveres backhand throws in time. Nice play latte footed showed off at strong arm. There's two down on the playboy to second Gary Sanchez that was almost a thing of beauty and he takes his out front got enough of off the end of the bat almost the very tip of the back with devas play off the line, it was difficult. Play for good running Aaron Hicks on the left side of the plate as well, but no room for their Denver's cleaned play. It's that outward pitching. Gary Sanchez Dow Sanchez with two down advantage sector. Carrie takes the strike Sanchez old for to strikeout and groundout. He's already got seventeen home runs. He had eighteen all of last year. Any at one eighty six kind of a lost year for him. The Awan swag. So the to the cow. As much as Rick pursell early in his career was that sinker ball pitcher. Foresee fastball for him even now, just not as true, it doesn't seem like you know chew is down to the win. Like even when he throws it still looks like it has a little bit of, you know, jobs, too little kind of jump dipped to it instead of guys that can just throw that four seamer. It almost seems like it continues to rise even though it just stays on playing longer. There's a one two that's outside. I remember you tell me, which I thought was great. I never thought never forgot about it. But talk about talking with Rick Sutcliffe. And same wide isn't a guy just throw it for either you were asking him or he was asking you. But the response was not that easy. Like, if you don't pitch that way, you can't change who you are and pitch, you know, at the top of the strike zone, like a four seam fastball. Chew well-struck outwards right-center field that one back there and that ball is gone. He's done it again. Gary Sanchez is eighteen to the year. And once the bat, the Yankees have a five three lead out to right center and into the bullpen. He's got his many homers as he hit all last year. This is really impressive. Talking about a team missing so many of its superstars. They continue the score runs in the top in the American League and runs per game. Big reason why Gary Sanchez. It wasn't a bad pitch. Rick bookseller is better piece of hitting my Sanchez. Slider moving away. Flavor towards check swing called strike. So carry Sanchez. Eighteen home runs on the seas labor tore is having an extended chat, Bill Miller. All in one the count wine to kick the pig. That's. So the Yankees have a lead in their bullpen spin sensation. Since may, I the one one outside. Why the kick in the two one and that's outside big Tommy's out there. Get Lewis became became. Three one is pop foul out of play. Why the kick the pre to his belts foul, the third. Under how much some of these guys on the roster that are injured it have that. Jason kipness syndrome, when the Indians two years ago had that long winning streak, one mess with it. Here's a three to just off the outside at that's ball Ford. Batteries rallies will come up to hit while the walk yet. So they had one I want to say eighteen in a row. And I said, such as kipness said, hey, how you doing? How's the hamstrings costs? Great feel great. Like, when you think you're ready to go ready man. But I'm not coming back until we lose about let them put that on the xactly. He's funny funny like look guys is difficult. I think the good thing for the players on the roster this, you don't have to rush back. The other teams playing well up to teams playing well, there is a sense, you know, urgency obligation by guys that injured to try to get back sooner, but you get actually let the healing process. Run its course more. Holy if you are Giancarlo Stanton, Lord Viga glorious or Aaron judge. Yeah. Well, I was in Houston this past week and I saw George Springer and he has a fairly severe hamstring strength. The pitch. That's it for a strife. And like to me Springer's, good example, I know it's no fun. But that division is done. It is over. So, you know, I basically not so many words on George don't do anything. Dumb, like just be ready. Get a hundred percent and then come back. When there's just no point ext, offering his in there for a strike. But as a player that's not so simple, right? No, it's not. And it's also you know you're looking at the player to depending on where that player is in his career. Yeah. Fair, what a good point. What, what kind of numbers does he need to put up in terms of trae? She. Contract. So that's part of the point. To swang alive drive. That's base it at a right field that so pick it up. Throws it into second arouse. With two out not and the NFL extended Alex Cora out of the dugout. Looks like a c. Is gonna make the move. All of the bullpen is brought to you by Geico. "We have a problem with you know, what in the points bet world we live in the now we'd have to live in the now. Half. The do it Tigers Jordan Zimmermann Red Sox. Former tiger great Rick Portillo. Jared. I'm gonna kick it to you for this one. The the over under you would think it would be fourteen. But it's actually nine point five. Rick priscilla's been like, unthinkable bad is over under or just how you feel in general. I'm obviously taking the over here. Rick four cells been bad all year versus Imerman who's been bad for like three. But he's also been like not like not an understatement. He's been bad bad like more runs than innings pitched. I believe overs. Last three starts started. The first two starts had like a zero six six and he's been garbage ever since he's given a five home runs in his last three starts so reading three seventy eight against him with a one point one to one overs last three no his entire season. Basically, it's like peak Tycom every every batter is peak Taikang against reports this year. Oh, no. I'm talking about Zimmerman. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. In Zimmerman has not been good over his last three. But yeah, Rick has been bad since day one. So it would be. It would be very much biased. Something I am not to say that tonight's the night that report turns around, but I do still like the Red Sox to split the series. But semes- the fuck out of that over. All right Yankees Tanaka. Angels, former Oakland athletic, great, Trevor K hill. A long ball given. What's the line at J line is Yankees favored by one point five the over under is eight. Yeah. I'm gonna take up taking the pinstripes in the over overcame hills. Give it up eight Jackson sheer give up eight total last year. Really? Yeah. That's great nog-. Great job, douse. Look at you. Get in the kitchen. What about in that deep fryer? I like angels in the over. I mean, they've got to win one. Right, right. It's. Their bullpen fucking. Their bullpen stinks. What I see about Cody out. They moved him out of the closer spot. No velocity hanzel robust, though, what what a fuck in walkout. He's got the undertaker's entrance theme. That's like that's easily. I had people. Like, it just said be it's way better. Guess what? Fucking retired a half a decade ago. That's how long he's been out of the game. We're talking current entrances. Hyun-sil Roebling leads the pack. I got angels. And the over one reason perhaps the over doesn't hit if that's the way that plays out tonight, Masahiro Tanaka one point five nine ERA in six career starts against the angels. And the Yankees are six in oh in his six career starts against conceals while jelly pinstripes in the over corrobos pinstripes in the over. Final one for this segment before we get into Twitter questions arrangers Adrian Sampson and the Mariners Marco kansallis a little west coast action. This one is over under eight point five with Marco. And the Mariners favored by one point five. Here's something that you on two things Sampson is looking for his first career win still after seven starts in eleven appearances. And the Mariners we profiled early on while we had the chance they've lost three straight and nine of twelve after that thirteen in to start. Did you who did you say is going for Texas Adrian Sampson, I've got Taylor Hearn as the most updated. Oh, wow. Making his major league debut. Wow. Yeah. "And he is twenty six years old you want to get this done. Now, the backdrop of that is over the next two years. Chris sale, Rick priscilla's and Bogart's. Jackie Bradley, jR, also pre agents, and the Red Sox have said, we can't keep them all. But this is your number one guy you have to keep him. And you know, and given where he plays the way he plays and just the way he looks. You know, his facial expressions is personality all of that. If if you wanna make the case that he's the face baseball. That would be a pretty easy case to make. So look he understands what he said yesterday to reporters probably wouldn't give the Red Sox a lot of comfort. He said I wanna be treated fairly. And so what is fairly mean? You know that? Mean Harper or trout or Machado or something in that area? He's the only player I think you could mention in the same breath as trout right now. So that that's what we're looking at Mike just signed a ten year three hundred sixty million dollar extension. That's the that's the parameter. Let's go from there. You know, Richard one of the things that I'm looking at now, where's you look at the big contract sign this off season. I'm mentioned with Harper Machado. Obviously would trout is something to be said. Now that teams are looking at the price that they're going to have to pay in future years that you look at a team like the Chicago White Sox who signed Eloy Jimenez, their top prospect. You know, they got in the cubs deal from with Jose cantata. They signed him to the richest contract that six years forty three million dollars for a guy who has even played in the major leagues yet. Are we going to see more team start to give money more up front? So that they don't have to. So they can wait a little bit longer in the back end to get those big deals. I think what changes the players are more open to those deals in that. It was always, you know, like when Alex bregman signed a five-year hundred million dollars inching this week. Yes. When he got renewed he was ticked about it. And I I had veteran players to me. I always got renewed. But you've got renewed knowing that you you're going to get the hammer, and it's going to be if you're a good player. It's going to be a big one. The free agent market has changed for age thirty one and older players. It's almost gone away in a lot of cases. So you so you are open to those deals in a way you wouldn't have been open to them before when the rays game Etta longoria his first contract they told him up front. Look, if you're the player, we think you are this may not be a great deal for you. But this does provide you with financial security, and and and sort of certainty about what we think of you. And when he outplayed the contract they? Toured up when south pariahs outplay his contract in Kansas City. They tore it up, and I would soom in the case of law in bregman, if they outplay those contracts they look at them again. But yeah, the free agent, and there's conversations going on between the owners and players now players always got paid biggest money in the second half of the career players peak performance year age twenty seven on average. They've gotta get more of that money upfront because the team's now driven by data and information are just not going to go h thirty two thirty three thirty four seasons with insane money unless that player is really special. "So he loves going over there. And you have a lot of left these in the lineup that liked to pull says all lot of that is right over to that right field more often, which is better for this dodgers, Tina circa and Adrian Dustin here. No swung by. Oh. Yeah. He he left. He took off. Yeah. He just re tweeted that picture. He was here. Yeah. But you wanna definitely come out on your way to the World Series. We're starting to get geared up and coming up next. We will we'll talk some Lakers last night. Lebron James first triple double as a Laker Lakers of one two in a row two and three now good news there, and then we got fast track coming up as usual Mason, Ireland ESPN LA, I so this is ridiculous. This is Silicon Valley run amok. Apparently if you do. Google twenty eighteen World Series champion. The Boston Red Sox. Come up what? Yeah. What? Yeah. That is an outrage it is an outrage where this is. It's all over the it's all over the internet. They may have changed it. But here's what it looked like. Oh, right here. Boston dot com. Google briefly declared the red sorry sweet briefly declared the Red Sox World Series coast bias even exists in Silicon Valley. Well, that's that would be an south coast bias, no a north coast bias east valley is north. No. But I'm saying someone's coast biased towards Boston. Because you know, there's always an east coast bias, so Silicon Valley has been they're not immune to it. No. That's that's ridiculous. Yeah. I don't know what. Eric Schmidt is doing the CEO of Google. But there it is two thousand eighteen world hearing in his small Austin Red Sox. Yeah. Exactly probably friends with John small is is the dodger hater curses. This is a curse for the Red Sox. I this Red Sox Google already crowned him debt, the never works out for you. Never does. That's that ways. That's how you overcome an oath to deficit is Google getting ahead of the Red Sox. There's your bulletin board material right there, right? Robert thayer. There's Google put that up on full Koogle. Does he believe the way? I don't think anybody has bulletin boards anymore. Boards is such a when I was in grade school kind of thing bulletin boards. Don't think tins. They're also they're all going to send it around. Like a mean to each other exactly all going to get it on their phones? And there's gonna fire up this lineup now surface pros and those from Andy you were I was flying. So I was on a plane. I didn't get see Lakers. Nuggets last night. It was obviously a great night for the Lakers two and three. They've won two in a row. What did you see first of all just how excited everybody was to watch? Lebron James get his first triple double as a Laker twenty eight points, eleven rebounds, eleven assists. And you just see the effect that he has on this team. Finding guys in the perfect spots to hit shots. I mean like land Stevenson is not an established outside shooter. But LeBron found him in spots where he is so wide open in the corner. You know, the best three point shot. You can take that the ball has no choice other than just to go down. And Lonzo ball had a really good game. Really strong second half five steals. He was part of a defensive search in the fourth quarter with Denver was held to just twenty five points and Lonzo heart Kuzina, have looked really good in the starting lineup with LeBron. Okay. We just got word. Bets. Oh, here's the lineup. Is that the lineup bets? Yeah. It is Betson right-field Bogart's short Moreland at first base Bogart's second. Well, JD Martinez is in left field. Brock Holt is at second base. Raphael. Denver's at third base J B J is in centerfield Christian Vasquez catching and Rick Priscilla is starting for the Boston Red Sox. So Benintendi is the odd man out despite the fact that he had four hits in game one. They also Moreland into first base morally games left handed hitter. They to a look they're playing matchups to a left handed hitter. That's a this is a very different lineup from them altogether. Bradley was the ninth hitter. And then the eighth hitter. And now he's the seventh hitter. Right. And by the way, Denver's Bradley, jR, and Vasquez are all better against right handers than they are against left handers. So that's the bottom third of of their line..

"But if they're gonna win they're gonna have to hit some home runs. They're going. Justin Turner, and Manny Machado and Bellinger, and tweet and Muncie and all runs with people on base would be nice. They're gonna have to hit home runs. This is the dodgers win games when they hit home runs. And when they don't hit home runs. They typically don't win games. It's interesting. Raj was say that. Because if if every guy is trying to hit home runs, then you don't get guys on base. I know solo shots one game. We had a bit or the season which we had a record seven solo Shelby. Seven home runs. I think we score like eight or nine right? We just had a record number of home runs hit and they're all solo shots. And we only got like a total of eight or nine what is it the line of their three true outcomes? Right. You hear this in the analytics all the time. There are three true outcomes. When it comes back. It's a home run. It's a strikeout, and it's walk those are the three to what they need to do. Then you get that third category going. I if they're not going to shoot the ball through the right side to the four and a half whole like rod crew and Tony Gwynn used to do. We're going to have to get some walks. We're gonna have to maybe put some pressure on them defensively to get some some things going on. They can do that. There's mean just haven't been doing much series. They can walk. Yeah. If the guys aren't throwing bad pitches. It's hard to walk right? If the guys throwing the ball over the plate, it's difficult to walk though, they need hit a couple if they're gonna if they're going to get back into this. They're going to get back into it on the back of a home run. Rick Priscilla won the Cy Young his era. Wasn't that? Impressive. Yeah. It was more about the wind total anything in the winter was really supplemented by the fed. He had great run support. So he's gettable but price. Awesome. Gettable? We would hope coming up to the halfway point of the NFL season. Which means it's time to pull back the pigskin. That's next..

"I don't think they I, I don't think there's a good team for two one, three, two, two, four, two, three because of their bullpen. Craig kimbrel coming in could be a disaster for them. So I think if Boston wins games, they will put runs on the place de how much dodgers how much do you think it matters though that that Boston is expected with? It's the first time in a while the dodgers aren't supposed to win. I actually think that helps them ton. I do too. I think take some of the pressure off. I think by the way the experience of being in the World Series last year is really invaluable. Hired Kershaw talk about that and Kershaw. Thanks. You know, the fact that we were there the fact that we had the experience, the fact that we're, we played at that altitude makes all the difference in the world when you get to a series like this. That's why I thought the dodgers in game seven against Milwaukee seems so confident and and relaxed where Milwaukee I thought was generally jittery, by the way, Greg made a point to. In the Milwaukee series. You wanted to get to their bullpen. In this case, I think the dodgers have a chance to do what they did last year in the World Series with which is to work deep into at bats because Cora wants length out of his rotation. Obviously, Brandon Woodruff through a third of an inning. It was not the goal of. Of Milwaukee to get linked out of their starters because they just didn't have it seen gave them a little bit. But in this game by the way, Chris sales gonna pitch tonight and then David price tomorrow night. And then game three game four, not named. I'm assuming that we could see Nathan of all the or or they go reports, come out of the pan. They do that a lot. They've done that a lot so far in the playoffs, their best relieves relievers have been our starting pitchers so well. And you know, and here's the thing. I think that a ritual is the game four starter. I think it's very possible and we see rich. We're chill out of the pen either tonight or tomorrow night. I hope not tonight. Well, that's what happens if you see Richhill tonight, you know that something went wrong tomorrow than something went wrong. Just like you'll probably see Rick Priscilla. If something goes wrong for game one or game too, because they're the game, probably the game, four starters, but they'll still have enough to come back for that game four or you go Kershaw or sale one four, seven is what kind of what they want, but Richaud could pitch tonight and engaged before he could if it's only inning. Yeah, you don't. You could use them in a spot. Here's the thing. The bottom third of the Red Sox lineup is absolutely awful against left handed pitching. Most of the team is awful against terrible. Well, here's the thing. They are terrible compared to what they do against right handers which is just they've got as a team. Well, first of all, as a team led all of major league baseball and runs, let all of major league baseball doubles that all all of major league baseball. PS seven ninety two there Opie versus right handers this year eight seventeen. Versus lefty, seven nineteen. So we're talking about one hundred point difference in their definitely softer against left. Both are catchers, terrible against lefties vascular to thirty one sandy, Leon one, fifty three Jackie Bradley. One eighty five or six lefties Raphael Devers is to twenty nine against against left handers in Kinzler has been terrible against left handers for some reasons right handed hitter, but he's been terrible. So that's why I think you may see you may see Richhill on a spot tonight. Especially given the fact that he's from here. The fact that he's he's pitched in the cold before, which is a real thing..
"rick priscilla" Discussed on You're Wrong... And Here's Why
"This is such a fun series not only because of the historic gravity of the teams with because of how close it is. The Yankees and the Red Sox have played nineteen games against each other over the course of the season, the Red Sox eked out the series winning ten games to the Yankees nine. That's how evenly matched these guys are. These are two of baseball's best teams and in makes it's so much fun that they are so close skill wise. I don't care if it's a championship round game. I don't. I don't care at all. I think this is the best matchup of the playoffs so far. And when we look back at it, there's a good chance that this is going to be the best matchup of the playoffs point blank and I think too much is made of how much we remember game sevens. I think we remember the moments in games that clinch series doesn't matter if it's four, five, six, seven. We remember the big moments. This rivalry is so intense and you know. You actually alluded to these moments just a minute ago. Let's go back to two thousand and three. The aunties and Aaron Boone overcome the late Boston's Boston rally to beat the b, Tim Wakefield and the Red Sox and eleven innings. I don't think anybody thinks less of that because it didn't end in nine innings. The Yankees are on a trip to the World Series because of that, what happens the next year? Boston's down three, nothing only to come back to win the two thousand four pennant and once and for all race, the curses Bambino ending an eighty six year old world championship drought. Aaron Hicks said it best when he said, I think this is going to be awesome. And I think this is going to be two teams going back and forth battling it out. And that's what the post season is all about. Playing against rivals. There's no more you can ask for in this series. I'd love it to be a championship series, but I don't think anything less of it because it's not. Chris of of course, of course, it's going to be entertaining. Of course, we're going to love the series. Of course, we're going to get tons of different things out of it. The problem is this is where. Major league baseball overextending itself and trying to go after that quick dollar has shortchanged us of an opportunity to get one of those classic game seven moments because of the fact that we add it all these wild card games, it confuses everything. It ends up changing things so drastically that that we get the two best teams in the American League playing against each other in the first round of the playoffs. It's unreal all because we had to have this manufactured playoff game. That's what it is. It's a fake made up wildcard game, so they could Bill drama for that one. That one PM in the afternoon. Game on TBS inbetween Frank, Kelly, Endo, TV, show commercials, don't forget those. I still don't forget them. My my my point going away is that major league baseball got would it deserve this year. It got to tiebreaker games on the last Monday game. One sixty three. Led into these manufactured wild card games and led to tire teams. He's blowing through the horn, their fair enough. Sorry. Hey, I think I think Houston Astros would have something to say about being the this being the two best teams in the American League. This Indians team was pretty good too, and I know it's the Yankees and we hold them in such high esteem because of their the Yankees. But there are other teams in the American League. And like I said, who cares if it's a LDS or the that's irrelevant when we're talking about the Boston Red Sox versus the New York Yankees, we're talking about some of baseball's biggest stars guys like Mukhi best in Andrew Benintendi JD Martinez trying to out slugged Aaron judge's, and the Giancarlo Stanton's and duty, gregarious. So the world, it means Luis Severino and Masahiro Tanaka David Robertson and our oldest Chapman trying to outlaw Chris sale, David price, Rick Priscilla, Craig kimbrel. It sucks Yankees and it's a big, big, big deal. Ninety seconds Gregory, we're going to go with a firm ninety here. I think my biggest point is the the wildcard game being created by major league baseball based off of a few years of tiebreaker games that kept happening. That's what that's what caused this..

We're going to talk about two really good baseball teams and at least two really good basketball players. My guests are Michael Lee of Yahoo sports Nunez Mr Michael, Leon, Twitter, welcome back Mr.. Mike Lee, thanks for having me and making her three stories. You should know debut and Killian from the San Francisco Chronicle known as and killing everywhere. I an Killian I hell. All right. I'm going to bat leadoff the Boston. Red Sox are not just good. They're scary good. Their ridiculously off the charts. Good. The Red Sox are close to the two winning regular season teams in history since nineteen o six, the legendary hundred fourteen win nineteen ninety eight Yankees and the dearly departed hundred sixteen wind. But. Didn't even make the World Series two thousand one Mariners. Sorry, Seattle. So here's my question. When I find myself asking the universe, what's it all mean? Mookie Betts and JD. Martinez could go one two in the AL MVP race, the Red Sox, frontline rotation of Chris sale, Rick Priscilla, David price, they're excellent, but there are so many bad teams out there. I mean, really bad teams. So on the one hand, team playing seven hundred ball demands, everyone's attention, but on the other, the Orioles terrible. The Blue Jays are terrible, and the Red Sox are twenty six, six against them combined. So I ask you Mr Michael e must we wait until November to finally figure out what these Red Sox are or are they doing right now? Impressive enough, don't mean a thing. If you don't win every, you know, look at it and you left that one really bad teams. The Cassidy royals. There's my hometown team really stink too. So I'm going to ask them to mix of one of them really bad teams. But I think that we've seen from the goal of seventy three win Golden State Warriors seen from the eighteen o. Patriots, unless you capture that championship your long forgotten. Like you mentioned the Seattle Mariners on never mentioned them when I'm talking about great baseball. She's still mentioned the patriots. I mean that they lost to the giants. But when you think of the greatest teams of all time, you because they lost that last game, they can't be in the conversation. We we give LeBron extra credit for beating us in three winning, but he's the champion. You gotta finish the job, and if you don't, you're going to live in infamy as opposed to being considered great and somebody who cover that Seventy-three one team and killing. Well, I totally agree. I mean, let's look at plus since payroll, which is the highest in major leagues. They're supposed to be beating up on the terrible teams as you call them. And so while this is fun, it's impressive. They're having a great summer. It's all about Tober and that that's the only thing people will remember and and if they fail as they, you know, have at certain times in the past, a lot of big pay teams have in the past. They will not only be not remembered as a great team, but they'll be looked at a scant. As a team that couldn't come through when it really counted and that I did cover that warriors team and dot only do fans in that public. Think of them as the team that didn't win a ring. They feel it. It's what drove them to the next two rings as inside. There have been fourteen teams in major league baseball that have played seven hundred bowl over a season of at least one hundred twenty five games and only five of them won the World Series something to think about and killing. Tell us something else we need to know. Well, I know you guys aren't gonna wanna hear this. Don't tell anyone, especially you east coasters but the Oakland Athletics are the best story in baseball. Maybe in all of sports right now, the team with one of the lowest payrolls in the game, kind of the opposite of the Red Sox and relatively anonymous collection of talent is hot on the heels of the reigning World Series champion Astros, unfortunately for the athletics. No one is really paying attention their GM. Billy bean has unloaded any all potentially marquee or more. Dateable talent. The team has.
