"Well, former effectively wild guest Michael mountain answered this one in the Patreon effectively while Discord group, and he noted on the topic of high scoring games where no individual player amassed many hits, the 2020 braves beat the Marlins 29 to 9 and no braves batter had more than three hits. No other team has ever scored 28 runs in a game without having a batter get at least 5 hits. This may also be the record for most lopsided final score where the individual team leader and hits for the game had the same tally on both teams, ASUS Aguilar had three hits for the Marlins as well. Thank you to Michael for picking up that loose thread 2020 was weird in so many ways. Also on that episode when we talked about Justin Verlander's career compared to Max Scherzer's career, I was searching for a fun fact and I couldn't quite place it. I thought it was something about the fact that members of those mid teens tigers rotations had gone on to win Cy Young awards elsewhere. It wasn't that. They did win some size in Detroit. What it was is the entire 2014 Detroit tigers starting rotation went on to win World Series with teams other than the tigers. Verlander got a ring in 2017 with the Astros, Rick porcello and David price one with the Red Sox in 2018, and then Max Scherzer and Annabel Sanchez won with the nationals in 2019. So no World Series with the tigers, but perhaps painfully for tigers fans. They all went on to win one elsewhere. I had forgotten that Robbie ray was briefly a member of that 2014 tigers rotation too. He has the Cy Young, not the ring yet, maybe the Mariners can get him one, and also a first for themselves, rewinding one more episode to 1882 in that episode I did a past blast about an apocryphal story about a crew that had been shipwrecked and had supposedly played baseball to entertain themselves, turned out not to be true, but we got a message from Patreon supporter Jimmy, who said, listening to the past blast on episode 1882, I was intrigued by the apocryphal story of the shipwreck crew of the Trinity playing a game of baseball. My wife, who enjoys my weekly summarizing of the weeks past blasts, I'm glad she enjoys it. I hope she enjoys it. Loves reading about 19th and early 20th century explorer specifically polar explorers, so I asked if in her reading she had any previous examples of shipwrecked crews playing the game and it turns out you don't have to look very far. According to labyrinth of ice by buddy levy, in 1881, the mixed crew of lieutenant AW Greeley's as part of the lady Franklin bay expedition attempted to set a new record for reaching the farthest north, they accomplished this, but when their supply ship in early 1882 failed to arrive, they had to survive. Isn't that just the way? I've seen the terror in the north water. Evidently on July 4th, 1882 stationed at fort conger in nunavut, Canada, the mostly American crew with two greenlanders played a game of baseball. The passage in the book is set in 1884, but references July 4th celebrations, the prior year, or perhaps the two prior years being more festive, understandably so with baseball being organized. My wife remarks this appears to be the first polar baseball game ever played on a much more morose note, she notes that it is suspected that some members of the crew later went on to commit cannibalism, which would seemingly be a first among baseball competitors as well, Greeley's crew was the farthest north at least until a game organized by an American nuclear sub crew in 1960 played softball at the North Pole, perhaps you've seen those pictures. This crew set the field such that the pitchers mound was at their best estimate of the North Pole so that a batter hitting a home run would then circumnavigate the world while rounding the bases, and that a ball hit to right field would be hit into tomorrow by way of crossing the international date line. I assume they dubbed the field, the pole grounds. But if we come across any other validated stories of baseball being played, we will be sure to share. Please do and thank you, Jimmy and Becca. And the last update here, we're going all the way back to episode 1879 when I did a stat blast about Cesar Hernandez and his historic power outage, which has continued, Hernandez hit 21 home runs last season, and he has hit zero so far this season. He's now up to 456 homerless plate appearances. Most of that stop bless was correct and still stands, but there was a slight snafu with forgetting to filter for regular season games only, and when you do that, one part of the stat blast changed, so frequent step less consultant Ryan Nelson notes now that whereas we had said that the record for most homers hit in the season followed by a homerless season in 400 or 500 plus plate appearances was snuffy stern way, so went from ten to zero from 1945 to 1946, incorrect, it was actually Scott had said Nick, who went from 12 to zero with the White Sox from 2004 to 2005, or rather, from the brewers in 2004 to the White Sox in 2005. So he hit zero homers in that second season, but he did win a World Series, probably it was worth it, so sorry to have snubbed you, Scott, but said Nick is one of three players ever to accrue a qualified number of plate appearances hit zero regular season home runs, but then hit a Homer in the playoffs. He's the only player to do this and hit two homers. The other two are 1992 Jose lind and 1993 Lance Johnson. Somewhat related in 1942, Mickey Owen hit zero regular season home runs, but did hit one in the All-Star Game. That is the only time that has ever happened. In summary Ryan says the way I originally ran it would have been just fine if 2005

"Say, so he's making just about 11 over 11 this year. Next year he's going to make 20. That's, you know, it's probably realistic. You make 20 then you hit free agency. So you're going to do a deal that is like, okay, well, when is the opt out? What is the opt out look like? Because this doesn't line up. I mean, the whole impetus for the Red Sox is you're buying him maybe save a little bit money in terms of the arbitration, although now that's time seems to be coming gone. And then, you know, locking them up a long term. I mean, that's the impetus for the Red Sox. I mean, there's no, you know, the crayon thing is you're chasing the player, right? You're chasing you have to beat out other teams for the player. The reality for the Red Sox right now is that they have the player for two more years. So they can say this makes sense in terms of locking you up long term. If you want to be here, this makes sense. Just like it made sense with bogarts back in cleaning in the 2019. You get the long-term deal, but then it gets you opt out after X amount of years. I think that's a more realistic scenario. Although now she tries, guys, more guys are not getting opt out. Does this like give me a crapload of money to crap load of years in this role? Mookie didn't have an opt out, did he? But the Dodgers? No. No, I mean, I only Glenn door did. Someone else are missing who signed recently, Franco. I don't think he does. You know, so, you know, it's, you know, I just know this is that for Deborah's like, you've gone so far down the path. You're so close to free agency. You get that close to free agency, you're not the team is not going to save themselves a lot of money. That's just the reality. Because if the guy is that closer for agency, he's just going to be saying, pay me like I'm a free agent. And that's what Debra's will say. He is rob Bradford host of the Brad foe show. Back with rob Bradford of WEEI dot com covering the Red Sox. So the Red Sox are not starting April 7th. They're starting April 8th. What are you going to do with the extra 24 hours? Oh man, squeeze out more Fort Myers time. Come on, let's go. You know, like the great thing was they bagged it. So just move the flight back a day, better than sitting around in a rainy New York, so yeah, I mean, come on, it's like a no brainer try. You've been down here. You and I have broke bright down in Fort Myers. I can not, I'm like, DJ bean once called me Mike le plant because I come out in the sunshine and the water. During the 2011 bruins run to the Stanley Cup, by the way. That's where that. Well, no one no one's better than mnemonic or with the monikers in DJ, but it's funny, we talk about our time together and covering stuff together. I was talking to our good friend Jonathan the other day. And they have a special on the anniversary of the Bobby Valentine year 2012. And part of it obviously is the LeBron anniversary. Oh yeah, so part of it is the Dustin and pedroia patriots day morning where he's like, you know, that's not how we do things here. Maybe it's how they do it in Japan. Remember that track. And I remember, you know, it's like, so that was our teamwork, right? Come over here. You know, come over. Listen, Dustin says he has something to say. And I think you asked the question. The answer. Yeah, there you go. Garrett whitlock. I want to see him in the bullpen. I think that's his best spot, but I understand the argument that Alex barth has made to me on numerous occasions. For him in the rotation. Where does Garrett whitlock first? Begin the season? And I think we know the answer to that. I'm asking that rhetorically. But where does he appear more throughout the year for the Red Sox, either in the rotation or in the bullpen as a closer? So the answer, the short term answer is that you're going to see him, I think, probably in more of more variety roles and even anyone realized because take, for instance, The Rain out for opening day. They have to lump these games together. I would not be surprised if they go to a 6 man rotation because they have so many games in a row. These guys are building up and he ends up starting a game. Now opening day, probably going to follow up a valdi and that. So there'll be a lot of that. And I was Korra, we've heard him say this a bunch of times this spring about, well, you know, we figure it's better to have this guy pitch three times two innings in a whack than four times one inning because 6 innings is more better than four innings and all that math. So okay, that's great. And I understand where Alex might be coming down on starting everyone wants to see how a guy does starting. Like, Daniel Bard who wanted to see how he would get started. But at the same time, it's like, you've got to, what you did last year was a really effective role. And I think to answer your question, it's going to come down to how the other guys do. I mean, you have a rotation that has a lot of uncertainty in it. Let's be honest, has a ton of uncertainty in it. You have a bullpen, by the way, has a ton of uncertainty in it. So whichever group needs a little more certainty, I think that's where whitlock will probably end up and find himself. And that's the luxury they have. I mean, what they need is they need somebody to step up to be the 2022 Garrett whitlock. They need a cutter Crawford. Right. They need one of these guys to step up and be like the wild card. Or even listen, not to say they'd be the same thing. But they need the best versions of these guys. They need the best version of Matt Barnes of Jake diekman. They need the best versions of these guys. And I'm not going to get called caught up in spring training. We'll see when the regular season starts, but that is a fact. I think the best version of Michael waka. Like there is there's a lot of oh, Michael I figure things out for Tampa in the last two months and get rid of his car and so forth and so on, great. Show me, show me what he does for four or 5 months. You know? That sort of thing. And by the way, you're talking about your four starter. Taylor how? Show me what he can do on a consistent basis going against a third time through the order. Like, you have to show me this. You were there? I think the, you know, we have 5 aces, John Lester leaves, you know? Yes. Wait, Miley, Justin Masterson, Joe Kelly, Rick porcello clay buckles. I got a man in case for every single one of my probably dead. But at the end of the day, none of them stepped up. None. So, you know, that's where they're fortunate that they have a haldi, really. And Rick chill is he going to last the season. Yeah,.

"Well, I think as we saw in eighteen, you can do that in the postseason, you know? But the difference, when these guys throw a bullpen, though the intensity isn't there? Like they like to call it kind of like a touch-and-feel, right? They just get up there. There's the mechanics and, you know, if a guy's throwing 95 in a regular star, he's up there throwing 88-90 and he's just work on his mechanic since working on pictures. At least point in certain things that he wants to improve on faith. You take that little touch and feel work out as they might call it and now throw them in a big league game, it's Max effort all the time. So I think that creates like a Sprint, which is what the postseason is, which is what they did in 2018. No, more sides. No, but yeah, no, but nobody threw aside. Rick Porcello eovaldi price of these guys didn't throw sides, they threw in games, but I think they're in the season that stuff. That's why you need that 6 alarm, which is what how gives like that. You always talk about six men rotation, I wouldn't want a six-man rotation, I would rather have exactly what helps do rest of my Bullpen for a day and then come back, five days later and give me a start. And then rest my bullpens three or four days later, and then five days later, give me a start. So that's huge. But I still on top of all that, I still think they need to go out and get a guy for this rotation because they've been healthy track. These guys have a missed the start. That's not going to keep up. Now you wouldn't expect it to. I mean, there were, you know, for Red Sox where the probably the most notable exception in baseball history to that. But I am certainly and Christian Curt Schilling reminds us of that all the time. But but I think you're right. They probably do have to go out and get another starter. Trade deadline is June, July 30th this year, not the 31st July 30th at 4 p.m. Eastern. And I'm just curious, you brought up one named Danny Duffy of the, of the Kansas City Royals along with them, potentially Carlos Santana, said yeah, as a possible package deal with Francie going back to the Royal I think that's going to happen, Thursday. But a guy like Danny, Duffy you do think could help the Red Sox? Max Scherzer is not going to happen. We agree with that. I agree. And like I am Bloom said that, you know, this is one thing about him is versatile. He wants to keep everything he wants to. Look at all of his options, he talked about how he'd be interested in a rental. But a guy like Max Scherzer or guy like Anthony Rizzo that A-Rod. Just, I mean, all night long was talking about going to the Red Sox. I think those price tags for those rentals. A little bit too high. You know what I mean? For those types of guys, Duffy is a rental home and Carlos Santana cuz I think that's really the position of need. As far as position players go. They need a first baseman, I mean, especially with the Royal last night going down with that hammy. They need they need a first baseman, but yeah, that type of player. So I could see them getting a guy like that as a rental. But to me a guy like shares her got like Rizzo, I just think that's counterproductive to what Bloom is kind of still doing here, you know? And I know Red Sox faith. Be pissed off. It's okay. You got a good team. Go for winning?.

"Thing bombing bleacher tweets right bleacher tweets for today. We got this from danny sudanic. I think that's how you pronounce it at d. suds twenty four if there's so much concern over four substances on a baseball wise pine tar allowed for batters just us better gloves or is it not that simple has there ever been controversy for hitters. Besides george bradwell first off. Start with this a lotta hitters actually don't like to use batting gloves member or hey facade the yankees for example And they've been using pine tar for a long time. I have had conversations with empires who say that as we move forward. They're just going to be watching to see. If some of this pine tar might somehow get transferred onto the baseball when these guys are act out in the field so that's something to watch for. I look to think. Just pine tar is something that has always been available to hitters. And i don't think that's ever going to change rob baretta ass. Hey buster. With vlad junior bowing out with homerun derby be more palatable to hitters if a return to the out space format taking so many swings and four plus minutes is exhausting and threatens injury. It's more entertaining but maybe less appealing to players. Now robert i. I think that you know for years we've had hitters whether was clock based or whether it was out based talked about how afterward th. They're tired when you think back when it was out based guy could stand out there. I'm thinking of josh hamilton. A yankee stadium for a long long time much longer than it would be. When it's clock based so i i think in some respects book they're going to be concerns about that either way Some hitters aren't gonna worry about it. I think vlad juniors just talking about it and believing that he should continue with a routine that he's had going on bummed. He's not going to be in it. But it's going to be a great event because we do know that we have shohei ohtani. Pete alonso. Yesterday made it official. He is going to defend his title. Jesse pruitt i had a quick has a question about stats since the sticky substance announcement. Has there been any discernible rise league-wide batting stats To show that this is working yes in fact since the details of the crackdown were first reported on june fifth batting average in the big leagues is up ten points. Slugging percentage up about twenty to twenty five points And the hunt for red red sox. October asked what's the status of rick. Porcello was a free agent during last offseason with the big starting pitching shortage on the trade market cookie. Still be in play. You know it's interesting. I hadn't heard his name in a while. I sent out texas morning asking about that. And when i'm on the show again next all report back to you hunt for red october. That's it for.

"He says he's not a problem. He literally tweeted. And i can read it out but he said i'm not a problem. He explained that he was released or heading signed yet because he hadn't found a team that wanted him. And i'll quote him here he said i'm not signed yet because every team thinks i'm a problem when it's the opposite i come to play baseball. I come to become a family member of each and every player in that locker. Ask every team. I've been on. I'm close with every player. The fact that my ex agent has ruined my chances on playing this season is killing me. I want to sign with anyone but going home would be a blessing. You want to know the real me. Talk to me not bums. That's not the kind of language i want on the blue jays. The nationals released him for a reason. I believe they're validated that. I don't want the blue jays to him. Same reason roberto soon. I don't wanna see his face ever again in a blue jay uniform so no to both those guys. I think the blue jays can get by without signing someone. Obviously it's better if they do increase their depth. But that's where i stand on those two guys. Yeah exactly when. I look at you know when we go back to the bullpen. I do think that there is a lot of a lot of depth. And obviously kirby is a big blow to lose but jordan ramona. One of those two or raphael delis will close. We can debate for hours about who it's going to be but a lot of the bullpen is similar to last year. I mean we have a j cole likely returning you know. There is the editions of tyler. Chat with david phelps. So i'm not as concerned about the starting rotation or the other starting rotation. I'm very concerned about it. But i really don't think that the blue jays will do anything just given how early it is or how late it is into spring training and how close we are to the beginning of the season because i mean robbie ray was pitching wild but so a stephen mats and tenor. Orcas you know. He's he's ten roller. Unfortunately but you know the blue jays have the options. Thomas hatches out but no they can at least work with ross stripling maybe anthony. I think he was going to be a starter. Anyways maybe they throw him into that role and pray their hail. Marys that he he ends up working for him. But i really do think that's what what's going to happen. They're gonna work with with what they have within them and most likely if if they're still in need of starter or in need of anybody come any time this season it'll be ordeal will be made towards the trade deadline and then that's when they'll really make a push and say okay. This is the roster we have. This is what we need in order to get to where we want to be in the nets me they'll make that type of addition yeah there's I know the jefferson oceana situations are obviously a little bit more. There's more to it than just baseball. And osuna of course. His opportunity in that boat has sailed safely but Yeah somebody would jefferson. I guess there's just you don't know too much about what's going on baseball perspective. Of course he's name available. And i'm just looking now a current free agents as well looking for a job and there are there are a few names still out there Mark you mentioned so unlike rick. Porcello there's david robertson..

"Like you know ninety nine or something like that on the non-roster invite numbers you know but it's sinker has looked completely different similar to how anthony k has been having a great summer are the great spring so far with his cutter. Zweig looks like he might take that step. So there's been some encouraging things up like you know we can see some more upside out of all these guys but it's like we weren't talking it's going to be a complete shuffling of who steps up and takes those those spots away. Yeah no absolutely good point on so. There's a few other topics. I want to cover. We'll see where we're at but the first is yesterday. The bluejays put out what looked like what would be very close to an opening day lineup. Somebody read this off to you guys really quickly. I'm sure you remember what it is. But in case you don't in case anywhere listeners. Don't remember yesterday. One through nine. George springer and center marcus simeon at second bubba shed at short. That's one three four through six. Was t oscar at d. h. A lot at first and lord and left so and the bottom half or bottom third of the order was griffin and johnson. At catcher rounded out roark was on the mound so obviously it opening day. That won't be the case then. That's something went incredibly incredibly wrong but the water at least looks very very very close to an opening day lineup out among start with you on this one is that what you envision the opening day it to be a guy slotted in d. h. t. oscar and griffin right or would you rather diaz right and rowdy at d. h. What's that would that would obviously chit the lineup. A little bit more. I think i would have rowdy little lower if anything whereas check age was yeah eight. You want rowdy a little higher. Because you don't want him that low Yeah i don't wanna put cabinet a either again. I think we talked about this. This is gonna mash either way. come to me. That's fine that that works just fine and it's dangerous at least one through six on thinking. Why can't count on my boy cabin one through seven. That's that's his deadly. That's a deadly lineup. Bray and it's it's full of pop Yeah i think something similar to that. I wouldn't try out great job on my opening day roster they might have to just because the the contract you want to justify or to make him a little bit more attractive in trade talks if there are any are potential. Trade talks but Other than that. I think it's good. So i guess fine. Put cabinet eight to put rowdy at seven. That's fine whatever. Otherwise it's fine greg. I'm gonna make a sweeping declaration stuff off randall. Grischuk will be this year's coming. Clark traded in the first week. That's crazy that'd be interesting. Actually tell me why you know. I use new. They now seen what john davis can actually do right. Yeah of course case scenario. I really think that he's forcing her hand to do something. And they can use grischuk to get something hopefully and especially now that we're talking all this pitching shit that we literally this laying out. I don't even care if it was somebody. For like one of those guys level that i'm not paying like i would have to pay rick porcello right now for most ragent benz..

"A name that was brought up by now that he's off the board as a potential replacement. And now that we know pearson is not going to be on the opening day roster adam where you go from here because you have re you ray roark probably mats and i don't know is it stripling is Anthony k is at who or do you go. Dumpster diving for veteran free agent. You would assume stripling is going to get in there just based on familiarity and i just think he's the most obvious if it was just pearson and you could probably get by. I really liked k. I think he deserves it. But i think they like him to start in the minors or at least in the first month. The quantico taxi squad. I would love to give him the chance but i have a feeling and i think. Aj brought this up last week when she was on. I think it's going to be thought. And before k in the eyes of the front office not whether or not we agree we can discuss. But i think it's going to be and that's going to get a shot before k which is unfortunate but i think struggling the obvious shoo in right now for pearson spot make i number two. But you know you're starting five so no dumpster diving for you out of not yet. I don't think they're going to do it yet. Craig are you going into the dumpster dancing on the edge kind of on beacon because there their names that are you know. Unfortunately i'm not ready to cut to porcello in an odd year but right now according to projected war. I guess i'll go through this and be this guy if you were peaking into the dumpster because i you know went on fan graphs and pulled it up here. Rick porcello the guy that has the best twenty twenty four and is projected for a one point four. This season terrible. It's not terrible at it but the the also is you're talking to east coming off the guests and he's gonna get eleven million a year deal so somebody banking clearly on that even number. I was telling you about louis. Jays fans are listening. I don't know this yet. If you're looking for william the weirdest stat lines in all of baseball do a baseball reference check on rick porcello numbers literally watch it. Go goodyear bad. You're good you're good. You're bad you're in his all about even numbers with him. So that being said then you're going really quickly and the guys that you start dropping off pretty quick. That are in their late thirties. In anabol- sanchez homer bailey. Cole hamels is intriguing enough that godly. And then you're really getting into it where you're talking. Well okay bring. Edwin jackson backer. Jeff samardzija mike leake. Because you know he was always mike. Leake was another one event apple since favorites. Right jay bruce. And jay bruce so we can finally nail that one down if we really wanted to do so those are really the quote unquote good arms on the free agent market and like we were like i saw both of your guys faces on that. It wasn't anything super again. Became down to the point. That right now if i was diving and on one of those guys i'd rather just watch the youth movement happen. Yeah because we've been seeing some really good talented performances. This spring alex minoa simian would richards..

"To win a championship with these guys, and they haven't upgraded it. Sure they got DJ LeMay you to come back, and that's great, And that's something that they needed to do. But there's no upgrade really anywhere and that Cory Clubber signing speak of the Yankees and Mets. That's sort of reminds me off the mess last year, grasping at straws for guys like Michael Wacha and Rick Porcello and saying, all right, we'll see if these guys can figure it out the Clippers and a better career than those guys. It sort of felt like that type of transaction. So, uh, they they're basically saying that you know, we lost a ton of money because the pandemic you know, we don't want to go over. Luxury tax threshold and the guys that are on the team have to be good enough. And we can't have the rash of injuries that we've had. And we got a win with this group. And I think that the Yankee fan is always going to be a little cocky. Ah, little confident. Maybe too confident. But, you know, going into this, Steven. It's basically you know, count on the guys that you know and see if they can do it better than they've done it before. And I'm just not so sure. I mean, I've seen too much of Aaron. Judge Heard I've seen too much of Gary Sanchez hit 1 12 for three months Stretch I've seen too much of Giancarlo Stanton. Take one swing and then be out. For four months. I've seen too much of that with this team, so I just I needed to see more from them in this offseason to think that they were gonna go and win a championship this year, although there they'll be good. They're always good, but Just never good enough. There's always another team in the American League that don't think better than they do it, whether it be the Red Sox, the Astros or the Rays last year. I'll tell you. Why the night getting the center fielder for the Mets. George Springer bothered me more than anything else. Think real moved to one wanted to go back to Philly the whole time, and he just needed to get a price to a certain point. The Met had moved out of that market, so the Phillies didn't have to blatantly over pay him and they got their guy back. I think Bauer it's Southern California. Kid always wanted to go to California, and you had the Mets to run the price up. He got what he wanted from the Dodgers. He went where he wanted to go. Spring. Is it? Connecticut kid? They should have been able to land him. Right? And I'm going north to the border. Wherever tomorrow was gonna play this year, we shall see, um, that that didn't bother me. I thought they didn't have to overpaid to get him and I thought he signed for a reasonable number. So that's the only one that I'll get. Steve Cohen a hard time for all right. We got I want to run to each other teams quickly with dear. Both baseball teams met Yankees one makes the playoffs both make the playoffs. Neither make the playoffs. Both will make the playoffs. Okay, That's good news hoops netted gonna make the playoffs. So rather than are they or aren't they? How far nets going to go in the playoffs? The next we're going to lose in the Eastern Conference finals to the Milwaukee Bucks. Right? That's that's a pretty good run. But yet, but still you'll be talking more about the Knicks and who they could draft as the Nets are making this playoff run Jody, There's nothing better than rooting against the team. That is defined in failure by not winning a championship and that be the bar because you know, basically anything could happen. You know the next could because all the chips are in the middle of the table. So the Nets could go to Game seven of the MBA finals and lose by one point on a buzzer beater. And then I'd come on the air the next morning and say This was a massive failure this season, and it's just this is nothing better than that rooting against you have fun with it. Then you had three action teams in that town, including you one across the river and Newark and Delaware. In your in Jersey. Right now, all three would be out. I think any of the three have a shot to make the playoffs, but none of them are locks. How many teams in the New York triumvirate? They're gonna be postseason bound in the NHL. I think that the Islanders figure it out again. Um, I'd love to have more confidence in the devil to figure it out. I can't right now. I have not seen Not that of the younger Ranger players to be bullish on them. Three Islanders even though they've been through a rough stretch recently. I'll just there to me. There's there's too much resilience there. We saw it last year. In the bubble, So I'm I will say Islanders, and that's it all right, and bad rather than escape. Pessimistic. Question it Giants or, uh, get to making the playoffs and, oh, by the way, the Giants could do what they almost did this year sneak in the backdoor because it's the NFC least and I expected to be again next year. Will either the two football teams in town be at or above 500. Yeah, I will say. Man. It's tough with the Jets. But just as it stands right now, I will say that the Giants will be nine and seven. Giants are gonna go 97. L have maybe tennis six. But the Giants level winning record. They will go to the post season next year. When next I see you take your money. Yeah, well fit on the back. That's not happening. I don't think that either the New York football teams are making a run at 500, but we shall see. Hey, deal. It was great catching up with your buddy. I'm sorry. I've been very blue. See you up there in New York forever. At some point, I'm open to be doing a shell from the studio again. Tell you, boy boom, right, send my regards. Go back and enjoy the game. Absolutely Jody. It's great talking to you hopefully will be in a situation where all of us are together in the newsroom again and that sooner than later, my buddy Greg Kennedy, from W F A. N in New York talking New York sports me here on CBS portrayed here I come back, We'll get more in depth and the ongoing game. Yeah, it's kind of a big game that they're playing right now. I'll get you updated on everything. There. We'll get the telephone lines reopened 855 to 124227. A Super Sunday get together here on CBS Sports radio at me, Jodie Mack. I proudly admit I'm a.

"Christmas, which is hard to believe. Time is flying Murrow's Halloween. You said it for the first time by yourself, and you killed it, And that's when Michigan State murdered Michigan and I called in and said It's a joke too far about you, Barbara. We're gonna get into Michigan football as the season goes on, and as the year progresses here and what to do, I know that Ward man, you'll be sitting down with him and discussing logistics and what to do with the organization and the program here. Horrible. I made it clear to the media that he wants to stick around, though kind of interesting. Would you be opposed to Jim Harbaugh taking off and heading somewhere else? Or would you want to keep him around for? Let's say three or four more years, 800 9 to 3 93 85 is our phone number 809 23 93 85. We got a fun topic here right now, let's rank from worst to best the pro sports teams in our city. But four of them Jesus gonna be hard. This is tough, because if you think about it all the organizations are kind of the same spot me. The Lions are trying to win, but they just can't win because we're alliance. The Pistons are in a rebuild mode. The Red Wings are kind of trying to break out of a rebuild mode of the Tigers were the same thing is the Red Wings. Young guys are there now. Can they start spending the money? We'll see. 809 23 93 85 from worst to best arse. Detroit Sports teams in order Ryan, one of the first body. Yeah, let's start with so the worst team I have right now. Would be the Detroit Red Wings. Um You know, Iceman came in here. He's trying to turn the whole organization around. But right now, as far as talent goes, they did get some draft picks. I know Lucas Raymond is being highly thought of as like a potential, you know, playmaker for this organization, but they are all young. And you know, before Iseman Management really had a hard time of, you know, putting the old guy's t O rest, so to speak, like they just wanted them to stick around. And it wasn't doing the organization any good, really, You know, so I have them and they finished in last place in the NHL. I believe last season and then they were Um, top three worst teams this season before that, So I have the Red Wings as the worst team in Detroit. Up next I have the lions just because of their history. Yeah, Um, and we don't know who the next head coach is gonna be. It's all up in the air. And then I have the Tigers because they have a lot of young talent and a J. Hinch right. So if we look at some of their playmakers, some of their infielders Out feelers. They have Victor Reyes. They have Candelario and then they have Miguel Cabrera, who is you know, he's he's aging. He was a great player for the city, but he's He's a teacher and right now, and who knows if the pitching staff turns it around, They have a lot of young pitchers. I think this team has great potential. And then the best team in Detroit. I think has to be the Pistons right now, just because of what they're trying to do. They have good leadership. They have a great coach already. And Dwayne Casey that we know You know, He's a great coach coming into it coming into the season, and they have a lot of young talent and You know when I think when I think of this best to worst category, I say Who's going to make the playoffs first? Out of these four teams, and I think the Pistons have the best chance to sneak in. Yeah, okay. I think they have the best chance to sneak in. Then the Tigers, you know, it's gonna probably take 2 to 3 years. Hopefully, but lines haven't You know they haven't won a playoff game and so many years 27 years 1992 and the Red Wings are have been the worst team that Michelle for last 34 seasons. So that's why I have the Pistons on top. Just looking at the playoff, you know the future. Of who will get to the playoffs first and the Pistons? Well, I'm looking at this the same way. Um, I do agree that the Pistons Have a chance to make the playoffs first because of the NBA style. Exactly Top eight teams make it the MLB is is look tougher to make because you got with your division or you go somehow make a wild card game. And ah, from worst to best the Red Wings air in my opinion, the worst in here in Detroit because of the situation that they're in, and I think that that won't last long and the Red Wings will surpass every team here. Either this year or in the next three or four years. Devise man knows what he's doing. He knows the lead an organization. They're getting their star to get rid of the older guys and bring in Steve Eisenman, his guys and the young temp they have here. They started to flourish, so I think the Red Wings Are there the bottom on Lee for the rest of, uh, maybe 2021? I think that I think that will make a leap here in 2022. Next I am going to go with the Pistons. I know this is a tough because the Pistons are doing something that the other teams aren't really doing. That's a sense of direction. They completely strapped things over. I don't think that any other team here wanted to do that. But the Pistons did it. They completely scrap things over, but well, it's a waiting game. It's a wait and see game with the with the Pistons because of Josh Jackson pans out. Amazing. Sacred Mboya turns out to be the next Greek freak, then even even better. French freak. Yeah, right. The French freak and then kill Ian Hayes. French freak to point out way. Just have to see about this young Taylor. But for right now I think it goes the Red Wings and then the Pistons. Then lions. OK, so tires air up there. I think the Tigers right now are the best team in Detroit because not one yet the most talent, I think the most fun to watch. Because every day uh what? Just throw it back here in 2000 and 13, 2014 and 12 2020 14 every time the Pistons are the Tigers played They had a starting pitcher that was a top 10 guy in the league writes. That was fun to watch You had Justin Verlander makes Sures or David Price, Rick Porcello on Abel Sanchez. All five of those guys. Four of them have a Cy Young Award. An animal Sanchez as the ER a chip on his shoulder there, so there was always fun to watch. Now, these young guys have a chance to turn five young guys that they have right now in this something Along those lines..

Pistons Red Wings Detroit Tigers Lions Michigan Jim Harbaugh Um Murrow Dwayne Casey NHL Ward Miguel Cabrera Iseman Management Barbara
