"Don't let that influence any decisions. You're making dan. Wow you really went out on a limb there. Seton wow It was crazy. Yeah wild stuff yeah. Poland iowa joined says. Hey paul would you have for me. Hey dan two quick points here first up about your source on the bears. Do we know they were defensive. Starters there were offered. Because i feel like David montgomery is the type of bowling ball. Back that pete carroll would love to have so maybe that was one of the Player the starters as well but my main point here is yesterday iowa state hired. Unlv's head coach. And where would we rather have. Rick pitino than vegas. We need to start to vegas. I need him in vegas. Yeah i mean it would be fun to have rick pacino at indiana but that ain't not happening according to i mean if i'm pacino i would listen and if you're any of these programs he's one of the great coaches i've said i think he's one of the five best college coaches right now. I truly believe that what he does how he does it where he's done he's done it. Big program smaller programs big players smaller players use. The three gets his kids to play defense. Now louisville's defense full court pressure. and like he. He he knows the game. But going to indiana at least just being mentioned for indiana and then saying you know what. And we're going to renew our rivalry with kentucky if he would go to the take the indiana job. We're gonna play louisville and kentucky here but that's not going to happen and i don't know they're holding out. Hope for brad stevens. That's not going to happen. Mclovin usually in college basketball. You ignored denials but that denial was so categorical by rick pitino that he's gotta be telling the truth here right. I hope he's telling the truth now he might say hey. I couldn't tell the truth. Because whatever i mean if these guys went all the way to madrid to recruit him to coach i ona i hope he's respectful to them loyal to them. Oh it's hard to madrid on taxpayer dollars to go. See what what are you.

"Iona coached by rick pitino. Who took over for his son. Little rick pitino who got fired by minnesota the other day and then immediately by new mexico. I think rick pitino is gonna make a little noise in the ncaa tournament and find himself back with a big time. Job greg wanted him at ucla. Greg i did not want. Oh was that higher. Lewis's is ireland. Ireland terrible terrible asiya. Bring me camp. Bring that man on campus. Yes i well it depends on what your interest is right like if you want just a good basketball coach and you gotta deal with the stuff that comes with baggage e clear. No question a lot of baggage. But he clearly knows how to coach basketball. He clearly knows how to coach basketball. So hopefully he can go and coach professional ranks as opposed to poisoning our campuses campus. 2021 College Basketball Bracketology With Jay Bilas

"Feels like you might be the busiest man in america right now. So thank you for making some time for me man. I appreciate it but busiest mannered. America's this is the best time of year. So i'm happy to be busy. Jay bilas is literally and figuratively towering. Figure in the world of college basketball so it is about nine forty five pm eastern on selection sunday. You've been on tv all day. I've seen you offering wisdom's. I've seen you gas bagging as you yourself from time and again i'm curious jay. How long does it take you to fill out your bracket while we have to do it in about two minutes one. We're on the air during this brattle. G selection show. So i it's sort of the the first thoughts that you have and and you wind up picking an upset or to In each region in the first couple of days. But then i wind up going pretty chalky after that and And then i'll i write an article called the more than five minute bracket where i think about it for more than a couple of minutes and And i don't do any better. So i'm not sure that my My first instincts aren't are just as good well. I'm glad to get you somewhere between the first and second drafts of history. Because i'm staring at an empty bracket you have hastily filled out yours and i want to get into this because we have the top four seeds gonzaga baylor illinois michigan their top lining the four geographic regions jay. That aren't really geographic regions this year. Because everybody's gonna be crammed into indianapolis in something that feels bubble like is there one team among those four top seeds. That seems feels the most vulnerable to you. Yeah michigan Because of isaiah livers You don't know what this stress reaction and his foot whether he's gonna play and if he does play whether he's going to be the same. I mean machines a good team without him but they're elite offensively with him Because of how skilled he is He's a good passer. Good cutter good square. He's a terrific scorer but without him I think there are a lot more beatable if you will And they have a different. I i do think they have somewhat of a difficult path. alabama is the to in their region and And i think alabama has got a very good chance to to reach a final four What's what's the best thing. I think bobby for the the big ten teams as they're out of the big ten now and they don't have to they don't have to beat each other up and they can go take a swing at somebody else. And i think they're all gonna like that. So i wanna get into the alabama thing. You just mentioned it. They're sitting right below michigan as the two seed and jay. I'm still staggered by. I guess the following collection of words second-seeded alabama versus fifteen seeded. Rick pitino and iona. So let's take the first half of that matchup. I people know alabama obviously as a football institution the football institution. What they know about their basketball team. Yeah alabama is is really talented and really good This year in basketball. Their coach nate. Oats is a math guy. He is an analytic sky. So last year they shot ton of threes. He believes in free throws open threes and layups and And so they're not a lot of mid range shots taken But this year. They're they're excellent defensively. That may be the best part of their team is. They can really guard their long armed and athletic on the wings. They've got a player named herbert jones. who has always been a really good defender. He's six eight He's really kind of a point guard at six eight and he does everything. He's kind of a triple double type player and defensive player of the year. In the league in the sec. And the player of the year in the league And i think he makes them different. So they're legit. They could have been a one seed worthy of it but because of how good baylor gonzaga have been they were they were locks and then And then how. How good michigan wound up being and then illinois. I don't think anybody would argue with those four is number one seeds but alabama was the clear Fifth overall so the other

The Glamorous Lakers' Unlikely Leader

"So Kevin. In spite of being blown out the other day in Boston the Lakers are still the number one seed in the West and everything is sunshine and rapes around the staple center but a year ago. It felt like there was a storm cloud hanging over the franchise. I had magic Johnson. President Basketball Operations nations stepping down team fired their head coach. Luke Walton and then they chose Frank Vogel as his replacement awesome and there was a perception around here in Los Angeles that it was a pretty uninspired choice right in some ways frank. Vogel is the Ultimate Safety School. So for the Los Angeles Lakers Kevin Arnovitz is an NBA insider for ESPN. They went after Monty Williams former player who has immense amount of respect but at the end of the day he got a much more appealing offer from the Phoenix Suns. Tai Lue was a top choice. Lebron's former coach NBA Championship. Cleveland Cavaliers in two thousand sixteen. And what are the Lakers. Do they offer him a contract that I think it's fair to say was. Maybe not befitting a championship coach. There's sort of a standard now for for what a NBA coach gets in terms of the years in terms of money and this particular contract offer fell far short of that to the point where I think the public certainly the perception within the League was here of the Lakers doing it again. They think they're the Lakers. They have this golden or around them they can just offer championship. Coach is his deals. That don't reflect that pedigree so they don't get money Williams tyler walks not for another job. He just walks and they get Vogel. I used to do a lot of L. A.. Sports Radio and I remember this announcement very vividly. Los Angeles Lakers fans. They were not happy. Happy Kevin in fact they were furious. Vogel I think at the outset was seen as an odd choice for a number of reasons. One one is. The Lakers are the Lakers. And they have traditionally gone after coaches. That are either real brand names or have this royal. LAKER occur bloodline they are part of the Laker family. So here comes Vogel who is coming off. Two year stint in Orlando where he lost twice as many games as he won one could say no fault of his own. It was it was a young mismatch roster of players. But he doesn't have a brand name he looks like an accountant announced he's never played in the NBA before so he doesn't bring with him. The story playing career so for a fan base and a franchise. That's always been very brand obsessed. Why are you getting this off? Brand coach was very much. I think the perception an off Branko. Now I'm imagining frank. Vogel at the Grocery store he's like the generic. I Love Kirkland. I I think that sets up this story very well because you great value. Oh you use the Kirkland of coaches and of course. The Lakers are widely perceived as his ex hyper glamorous NBA franchise in particular with Lebron James. They're going into an off season in which they're going to be trying to get free agents. This is before the trade for Anthony Davis and here comes maybe the least glamorous coach forget fans for a second just people inside the game fifteen choices of who is going to be. The next Lakers head coach. I don't I don't know that Frank Vogel would have been on one ballot. I'm not saying Bogle can't coach Lebron's right that's different. So how did he get start. Frank Vogel got his start by by being a pest he was division three point guard for a genie out of college and he became obsessed with Kentucky basketball when he was at home on winter. Break when you're watching that famous Duke Kentucky lightning later catches He decides I want to be part a big time college basketball. He's going to leave his division three school. He writes letters to the staff at Kentucky including Rick Pitino and they basically send back a form letter. Thank you for your interest. This is in the mid nineties so he decides. I'm just going to drop out of my college enroll at Kentucky. I'm GONNA drive there. Basically without an invitation nation. And I'm just going to hang around the facility. Whatever anything I can do to get inside volunteer? Whatever they need and little by little sure enough he hangs around enough due to the point? Where Jim O'Brien who was assistant to Rick Pitino said Okay Okay? We'll we have the video room. which at the time video rooms have become like the very sexy place to get your start as a coach? Now Erik Spoelstra Mike Putin Holzer Dave Fidel but back then it was still kind of a newish thing and so he just camped out in the video room and essentially became one of the best young video coordinators in all of basketball and to the point when when Pitino went to the Celtics they ultimately brought. Frank Vogel Oh go along with them. And then when O'Brien took over he promoted him again and so little by little. He's sort of the He's the kind of the little engine that could of basketball. So he dollars. O'Brien to Indianapolis. And that's where he gets his first shot as head coach. How does that go right? He gets to the Fr- what we call. The Front of the bench comes a top assistant in an Indiana Under Jim O'Brien O'Brien gets fired and Vogel's the next Guy Up Larry Bird actually ask Joe. Brian looked this. Guy's really loyal to you. Do you think you take the job. and Jim O'Brien profane. Lee said absolutely

And I just assumed the door the garage door was open, and I backed out and smashed the garage door, which was fully closed when I thought it was open, and I was just going to pull out back through my garage. And they just wrecked it and very expensive when to panic mode is I like to call a new guys. I don't know I'm going to be here while but guys come in with the truck. Like, some kind of strawberry or fasting, and I put on way too much, and it looks like I'm wearing some kind of lip cosmic seen, and I think the reason that that the chunky oatmeal sweaters, so famous is because Todd war for three Christmas. "Actually start talking about that it create a level of relevancy. So from that standpoint, I do believe in one way, shape or form. He's going to be affiliated with eighteen. No, none. None. That's a very slick thing. You just said that less is what do you mean affiliated because you could be affiliated with the team as a player personnel director scout anything like that. What are you saying? Here's what somebody's going to do. I asked that record Glasser. Somebody's going to bring him in. Rick Pitino is going to be a head coach again in the National Basketball satiate, and it's never have. I don't think it's ever going to happen. But it's not that he doesn't deserve. That's certainly something that Rick Petito, situa mastered. Yeah. And not not just on the collegiate level. But in this time in the NBA as well. The problem is. Jalen bring this up, but he'll not in that formation. Openings to start in college basketball recruitment trial

"In the biosphere of college. Basketball, buying players for universities. The amounts are hardly eye-popping tens, and in some cases, one hundred thousand dollars. The tactics are pretty crude and familiar, but there are a lot of names and figures and text messages at its core. Dan, this is about universities as I said, buying the service of basketball players, but that's now the government is framing the case, is it? No, they are framing the universities as victims here in that by paying players family, you render that player ineligible and university would never give a scholarship to an ineligible player and by playing that ineligible player, unbeknownst the school, they would potentially. Incur the wrath of the NCAA which could punish them financially and other sanctions and vacated wins. And all of that, obviously, the other side says, are you kidding me? We're giving we're helping school, get a five star basketball player so they can win. We are helping not harming these universities and we're really working at either the spoken or implied consent of the. Of the basketball coaches who to them represent the university. So that's really the heart of the case right there. And my your book focuses on one of those coaches, Rick Pitino, and some of the players who entered his orbit and are part of this trial. One is a young guy named tugs Bowen, Brian Bowen, junior, I don't wanna get blinded by the details of his case, but the story is pretty Representative not only of the prosecution, the courting of high school basketball stars, isn't it? Yes. Tugs is a was a good player. Not a great player. Sweet kid. His father was his mentor. Father was a figure in what you beautifully put it. The biosphere of of basketball and his father took a lot of money or took money. A lot of times on behalf of his kids play in a you basketball or to switch high schools as father just kept taking money, and but the money he took for him to go to Louisville was one quarter of one percent of Rick Pitino's annual Sal. Theory. So the money that actually came to the bone, family was nineteen thousand five hundred dollars. It's nothing and, but it really sort of encapsulates the inequalities here because it it became criminalized and Bowen lost his college career and losing his college career. This is a guy that went to play and he's playing Australia. He's playing in Australia, and you know he wants to be in the NBA like all these kids do seven thousand miles from the closest NBA franchise. He'll get scouted, but let's face it. That's a harder road to be one of the thousand or so oversea overseas players trying to get noticed by the NBA that is to go to Louisville and be on national TV all the time, right. That's also reflective sort of the Casablanca nature of this case. Everybody is shocked. Oh my God. You know, the coaches names are Bill self of Kansas has popped up in texts and emails among some of these parties. Talk of Adidas, black ops team come on. There's this cash. Cash on the cars down.

"All right, so we're still working through it. So next one is, did the Arthur, do the author Rick Pitino leave any loosens? And if so, what were they. Let let's be honest. A man that has always cleaned up. His loose ends for the most part until the end. Did he was pretty loose? I don't. Yeah. I don't believe that your mom actually asked these questions, dude, book club. Like, I think I think these were hand tailor made for this specific book. They had to been burried. I will say yes, loose ends were left shocking. So I guess, let's let's let's shift the conversation to this tape because I think I think this is important that we do take five minutes to consider this or at least acknowledging or whatever else. Is there a chance in your mind that Rick Pitino innocence, not the right word, but you believe some version of his reality that he's putting forth in this book because I think I think I will. I will concede that there are interesting points that are made about like I, I think I can get to a point where I'm like, fifty fifty on whether he knew about certain things. I can't. I can't get to a point where I'm like, this man knew nothing about anything and all this, like he knew some stuff. But I, I understand maybe like a little bit of frustration might for him might come from like this idea that he orchestrated all the stuff that he was the one poll in the string for Brian Bowen and who's the one hiring the hookers himself and for him and might be frustrated and be like. I didn't hire the hookers. I had someone else hired. The hookers are like, this wasn't even my idea. I just found out, you know, halfway through the operation. I found out that my system was doing this and I just didn't stop it like, I don't know what the reality is, but he's putting forth like there's no shred of evidence. There's this. There's that like, this is why he's suing Louisville, all that kind of stuff. Is any part of you are? Were you read in this and you're like, okay, I'm I'm going to entertain the possibility that maybe you shouldn't have been. There's like a technicality that you shouldn't have been fired and you might actually win this lawsuit against Louisville. Yes, because I think he was operating under the age old CEO term of don't tell me how tell me when you know that's what we're Dino was doing. He was. I don't want to know how Brian Bowen is gonna go and play for the university of Louisville. Just tell me when he's gonna arrive and I'm gonna take it from there. Yeah, and and I and I honestly, just in the in the sheer from the sheer fact that I believe that Rick Pitino is a basketball junkie and even writes in the book like he wakes up now at four AM in the morning, puts on bass boat shorts. And doesn't know what to do with himself. So from that vantage point, yes, I do believe that reputation. Oh, maybe and some in some cases had no idea how these guys were getting recruited. He probably had kept his eye on a little bit only micromanaging. I think he was actually just warning to coach kids how to play basketball from that vantage point is I do believe, and I do like the argument that what is the risk versus the reward of of doing this in college basketball. If we're the university of Louisville and we're winning national titles and were competing in the ACC every single year, why are we going to risk all this to get sanctions and lose out on the big money every single year, right?.

"I absolutely love this shit up. That's why I want to become a coach. That's really it grant Grant Hill, calling Bill raft. Three coach when they call came together is like the funniest shit that happens every college basketball season. So I, I love I love Van Gundy calling him coach, but you're absolutely right is like there is this tone from Van Gundy in the forward. That was basically like he was writing to athlete director saying higher Ripa, Tino, do you pussy? I've met. You won't do it. Do it, do it. My it was awesome. Oh, good yet that that was really, really good. So so the question is Rick. Pitino likable. I would say I would actually say yes in the book. Right? Yeah, like so if we're reading the book as though it's fiction, or if you're reading the book as though it's like presented to you, you know if you know nothing about this man and you picked up this book and read it, I think he would come away saying like yet, Rick Pitino did nothing wrong. He's he's actually kind of likable, it's Patino Zebedee. Yes, it's particulars perception. It's reality, but it's his perception of what happened, which is fair. Everyone has their own vantage vote, but we obviously know things outside of this book. So the real answer for me was no, and I was I was highlighting shit, like, dude, I started highlighting stuff as I was as I was going through it, and then I was making like I was writing down notes of all the stuff a highlighted. And then I swear to God, like my notes on pace to be longer than the book itself. So I'm trying to like organize everything. But I would say I would say he made. So he made to me. One one very well. He made a lot of mistakes, but the one that stood out to me was this that kept happening throughout the book was he? He went overboard with explaining why he did everything he needed to do. Like if you're, I'm trying to think of an example. If you accuse me of something and I, I did it or maybe if I even didn't do it. I'm not gonna say, like, I, I'm not gonna like us. I personally in my defensive myself and how much I deny this stuff. So the example I would use from the book is like Patino says, like a thousand different times. I would hammer my staff every single day. Do not even jaywalk not even so as in the wrong direction, do not even an, it's like, dude, that's total bullshit. And as soon as you start talking and speaking in this hyperbole, I immediately just go your full of shit, and but this is what he was doing throughout the entire book is like, I was absolutely shocked by what McGee did. I just couldn't believe it. I didn't. You know, like I told him over and I, I had Andre McGee in my office literally every single day for ten straight hours a day, and I told him, you better follow the rules, and I said it to him thousands of time, and it's like dude, that can't possibly be true. So ranted in just tell us what happened and then we might believe you any and he says the same thing with Jordan, fair to, you know, obviously with the documentation he's like, you know, I taught him the absolute letter of the law of recruiting violations as if he just sat him down every single day and they went through like the AA bylaws together about what is a violation, what isn't a violation? And that that was every single day that they did this. And it gets to the point where you know he, he basically, he basically like I'm more upset with Jordan fair than I am with. You know McGee. Right. That was like his. That's the big takeaway that he's more upset with Jordan. Fair and..

"More money you're school will make and the better your recruiting classes, the better your team will do. So let's complete the circle, the better your recruiting classes, the more money you're schools, likely Bank? Yes. Was like so many things like this book where it's like, no shit, dude, thank you. I was. I wanted to have another my problem yet. Yeah, to me I wanna give one more example of a caveat like that. He's speaking about Adidas in God or whatever. And then he just do does like a nice little invention in the ago's who who formerly worked at Nike. You know what I mean? Like he he, you know, he did like little subtle stuff like that. Whereas like little subtle remarks that, you know, we're just trying to encase, you forgot. He also is at Nike, so it wasn't just the Dita's. I don't deal with a Dita's just like, you think I did. I promise I didn't do that. So that was just that was this whole book entirely it just like Rick Pitino telling you directly to your face ally. But staring directly storing. It's awesome. It is his story. It's it's Patino my story. That's exactly what we got as again as you're reading through it, you, you can tell that like the Eddie is there's so many type of state and you know, listen, I'm I write for a living. I'm a professional writer. I'm an author. I'm a published author. There's there's as far as I know there's one typo in my book in still lose sleep at night. Thinking about the one typo in my book, but Typos do happen. But my God like this, this book was like littered with Typos, the the structure of it like made no damn sense whatsoever. I mean, let's be honest, we, we all wanted like all you. All we wanted to hear him talk about was. You had sex with a chicken, an Italian restaurant in paid for abortion, you had hookers having sex with your recruits and you paid one hundred thousand dollars for Brian bone. Those are those are the three things we want to read about. That's what this book should have been about. It was not. So I was disappointed just in like the writing and all that kind of stuff. Just just the narrative of the book, even if you're selling me ally, like make it an interesting lie and this this thing was all over the place. I initial thought any says, you know, at one point the buggies, he says something along the lines of to the outsiders looking in. I, I can see how I might easily appear to be a villain. Right? You probably would list those things you just listed. So yes, maybe maybe that would look like a villain a- and if you only read the headlines, you know, I would think I was a bad guy to is what he says. So I really would. So what would go and race on? What are you doing Rick? Could you really debunk any of those things you just kinda were like, yeah. I mean, all this stuff had written about me and did that paints me as a villain, and all those things are true. Okay. Okay. All right. Well, okay, and that's what that's what I get to my next question in the book club is the main character likeable? Why or why not? Hold on. Can I stop you for a second? Where where are these questions coming coming from a book club with my mom's in and. This is what they do. You know, they asked these, these are good questions. These are these are standard fare questions for a very standard fare direct attack on the reader. Okay. Via the more their play book club question. Yes, hold from. Yes for its yes. We should add your mom joined the reputational book club as well, and we could had her discuss her thoughts, but, okay, so go about what was the question is the main character this book who happens to be? I would say Rick. Pitino is likable. Why or why not Jeff Han gun in the Ford says, he is like a bowl and he basically put a direct threat on all athletic directors that they should try to hire him to come back to basketball. So he's end Jeff, Van Gundy Jeff Inc I needed. I needed more from Jeff Van Gundy. His forward was gray. I mentioned it last week that he calls coach Pitino coach. Yes. "Without further ado, let's learn how to become a better coach. And become a better leader with Rick Pitino. Welcome everyone back to the school grains. Podcast. We've got the legendary coach, Rick Pitino in the house Caesar, see very grateful you're here and excited about all were to talk about today. You've got an an amazing story. You've been coaching for four decades now. Right? Is stack record taken teams to the final four over four decades every decade for four decades. Take three different universities to final for two different universities to national championship. They're all different schools, although to are in Kentucky providence, college is small school, Rhode Island, they're all different experiences. Bintu seven, final fours in each one has been unique. Really does it ever get different? Does it ever feel like easier or all special? The last, the last ones you pre she'd more because it's gotten so big, you played in front of sixty, seventy thousand people covered all over the world. In the beginning. The first one I went to wasn't as big, but now. Oh, it's getting so big that you the nerves after the Sweet Sixteen start up. Yeah, you were coaching when the three point line was introduced was in nineteen eighty seven, we lead the nation and you'll get a kick out of this. The first four big east games we played, I think was Lucon Osama Rowley mess amino, John Thompson. They didn't make a three point shot at all. They didn't wanna take it. They didn't believe in it. They would totally against the rule. I had a very mediocre team and I said, the one thing I can do, we're going to lead the nation in three point shooting. We played the Russians in an exhibition game, and I said, we're going to take about twelve game and lead the nation. I said, twelve to fifteen the Russians that the exhibition 'cause they used it at three point line international using it, they took thirty two in that game away. So I realized my my analytics will weigh off increase the we. We have to take eighteen threes game, make seven. Eight and will lead the nation. Wow. In a young man, but any mobility doubt of was an expert in e. passing. People passing it off to people to three point line, but making himself. And we lead the nation that year and got us to the final four. Where did you learn how to become such a great coach? Was there a mentor you had early on or was just by coaching and learning by tons of mistakes of first years? It's pretty much it because I was a head coach at the age of twenty four early. I remember seeing those man right after college head coach, I was Jim behind I assistant then I get the head coaching job of Boston University at twenty four. I was coaching plays twenty one twenty two years of age. How is this possible? Because they want to happen today, right? Maybe like a thirty one year old, maybe possibly deal. One school. That's really young. I got lucky because my college coach was a great player at Boston University, and he recommended me. So I got lucky with the job. I didn't know it was all trial and error, not until I became the assistant coach of the New York Knicks. Learned all about the zone Jim behind. He was great technician, but I really learned basketball from scouting motivational stamp when as Sistan coaching, Nick's with UB Brown, the two years I was with UB Brown is assistant with the Knicks really was like going into a basketball library for two years now, why the scouting motivational side of things? Well, the pros is all about scouting. It's all about preparation. It's all about motivating the pros because they play an eighty to a lot of ten ninety something games depending on the playoffs. And if Atilla the constantly fatigued and you've got motivate Devon, I what I call find him motive and turn it into action because they're all different. You know, Patrick Ewing much different than mach. Jackson mock Jackson's, much different than Charles Oakley chose. Oakley was the physical presence on the team, and I remember calling Doug Collins and asking them about him because we traded him and he said, coach hill..

"All his cards on the table for Mani. What's your immediate reaction to hearing about Rick Pitino tables? I got announcement make everybody in this studio works on his show. We all read this book club. I'm reading your reading this book cop copied up. Everybody's copy because I got him to go. We'll be laughing. I can't imagine anything funnier than the Rick Pitino spin on all these things, including the one thing that we care about. We don't care about what happened with distributors in no, no, I don't care about the nineteen ninety six championship game. I wanna talk about that time. They, he went to a restaurant with a woman, or it had is homeboy into booth next to him down even watch while he was over there doing something he wants to post to. And then when all was said. Did you realize he had a problem? He got the strength coach to married her. Tell me your spin on this Rick. Pitino fifteen seconds. I want to know the aftermath of the fifteen seconds from Vinnie Tatum laying down to Tim cypher the equipment manager. You gave him a promotion, but binney Tatum and Tim's life or these guys who live in his orbit and are so close to him that, yes, they jumped on the grenade that was. Once. That is family. Baptism just jumped on the grenade, hit my bed with where did they meet? Well, I was actually driving her to get some sort of medical care and we struck up a report across state line. I went to the interview, Karen cipher for this story and Karen cypher, is it unreliable narrator? Let's be clear. Our laughter is not because Mandera cypher was right, just because she was so not right also vacillated. This is laughter because the whole story is so amazing, and I feel like people have almost forgotten about, but it's time for the thing that makes Patino so funny and all of this. He can't stop from the moralizing. He can't stop being so self-aggrandizing like it's like after this happened and Louisville was talking about leaving. The big in thing was you don't leave your wife or something like that, right? You don't walk out all your family. We're like, bro. We talk about you. He had a priest on the bench and by the way, this is book number. Seven, six, Rick Pitino tomes to pull right. There's zero books between this table. Next name is Bryce Harper. Spy reports that Bryce Harper was on the train blog. NASA GMI Rizzo told Chelsea Janes or the Washington Post quote Rice's not going anywhere. I believe in this team, if you were Bryce Harper, how would you be feeling right now? I would be feeling like the nationals made the right decision for the sake of everyone else on this team. They're fifty two games left in the season. Baseball is so long and they have, I believe, nine games against the Phillies seven against the Braves. This team is deeply talented outside of Bryce Harper. But if you were to trade rice Harper, what you're saying, those other talented people is recent, but it not now maybe never do every day. What happens the day after you dre? Bryce Harper. Don't nobody come to work on time though? What? What? What? What are we worried about here? Right. Oh, we're supposed to be here for. Isn't that counterproductive though? Are here because we're actually good at baseball and no, but. And so I think there are a couple of levels to this for me is if I'm Harper, it doesn't matter man, right? Like the money's coming next year. Maybe he wanted to be independent Jason this year, but he's kind of in one right now. Like, I'm not sure the place that he was going to go to. That was so much better than circumstance that he's in what I would like to know though in what you got to be filled a little bit if you're Bryce Harper. But if they offer for me. Right. Like what? What routines willing to give up. Because if he was legit on the block, this would be so fascinating because we all think that Bryce Harper is really good. None of us think that he is really good right now. What kind of package do you give up for rental a one of the best players in baseball who was one of the worst players this season, right?.
