"Thanks for having me, Tony. It's exciting to be here. I've been appreciating all you've done. For the industry and for the for the community. So great to be here. For sure. And I'm excited to speak with you because I've been following foundry for a while. I've been talking about Bitcoin mining growth in the U.S. and you guys are really leading to charge. So I got a lot of questions for you and you know it's exciting times. So before we get to that though, tell us about yourself where you're from, where'd you grow up? Yeah, so originally from New York went to school there was born in Queens and lived in Brooklyn and Long Island and Manhattan for schools. So kind of that area was where I grew up. And but spent most of my adult life either abroad or were in D.C.. Usually because I have the federal government background. Wow, you know Kyle, we didn't talk about specifics as to where you were born and all that. I grew up in Queens. I lived in Brooklyn. I went to high school in Manhattan. It's funny. We have very similar paths. I was born in bayside and went to high school Long Island and yeah, so we were right in the same area. Oh, yeah. I was in Richmond hill. I lived in forest hills. I got into bayside high school, but I ended up going to Laguardia, the art school in Manhattan. So so funny. Yeah. Yeah, one of our biggest biggest champions for the crypto space in New York is actually an assemblyman from queens named Clyde pennell. Oh, wow. So tell us about what you did before working at foundry. So I actually started my federal government career as a White House fellow, and I worked between the White House office of management and budget, and National Security Council, that type of stuff. And so I really got a great snapshot from a bird's eye view. I should say, of how money can move through government from the top down. And it was certainly an interesting experience that we can talk about if you like, but it's certainly very interesting, negotiating with agencies on how much money they should get and seeing why it's so difficult for government bloat to ever ever shrink down. It's hard to make any cuts in government. So that was, that was a great experience. I then moved on and I was a diplomat under the Obama administration, focusing on Guantanamo Bay. And so we were, I was part of the special envoys office that would travel and do negotiations and trying to get people out of Guantanamo Bay and relocate them and all of the negotiations that happened there. And then yeah, I had a career in national security after that. And eventually during COVID, I wanted to help operationally with maybe stuff that I've learned over the years and so I came back to my home state of New York and worked in operations setting up New York's from the governor's office setting up New York's max clinics and trying to help organize people to get the vaccine that we're choosing to do so. Wow man, you have a very strong pedigree in government, pretty amazing you were at The White House and you mentioned budgeting with regards to these agencies and what funds they get. That's pretty incredible.

"Were there particular challenges that, I mean, I know this is your first time running for office so you don't have a lot to compare it to. But were there particular challenges to running in this district the way it's drawn? Do you have any sort of reflections on how the actual ground game of this district went in terms of trying to reach all the different pockets of the district, how did that go and what do you attribute your success here to in terms of your field strategy or get out the vote efforts, you know, really being on the ground in this new district that also stretches three boroughs. So you summarize this a little in the beginning. We had an exceptional cycle because of redistricting. We started by launching it in February when the brand new state Senate seat district 17 was created. And that district included Long Island city, greenpoint, and then went down through ridgeway into parts, southeast beans, and Richmond hill, ozone park, woodhaven, Glendale mass Beth. And Long Island city and greenpoint were two of the densest neighborhoods. So when those lines were overturned, the district was redrawn into Senate district 59, which was a new seat that included Long Island city greenpoint, but extended up to a story down to Williamsburg and then in Manhattan. So about two months before primary, we were lucky that we weren't starting from scratch because as someone who lives in Long Island city and also as someone who had been organizing there and having run in district 17, we still had knocked over 8000 doors in the current district at 59, right? But we all of a sudden had to account for losing the doors in the other parts of the Senate district 17. And then now starting to draw knock in the new neighborhoods that were added in 59. Especially in Manhattan because for the first time ever, we had a triborough district. And some of the biggest challenges for us. Was of course, you know, shifting quickly, making sure that we are redesigning our field strategy and sending volunteers to new church. But for as a lifelong strap hanger, it's transportation. I think for personally one of the biggest challenges was actually commuting across three boroughs and splitting my time. So I saw firsthand how hard transit system definitely needs to be more interconnected and improved. But even with all of those challenges, we were really lucky to have the, you know, we had over 900 volunteers on this campaign. We were running a truly grassroots campaign where we were funded by over 3000 individual donors with an average donation of $46. And the volunteers from assembly races. Who ran in Lower Manhattan as a democratic socialist candidate as well. So we had the volunteers. We had the grassroots support. And that led us to knocking over 68,000 doors in 59 by the end of the race. And when you, when you look at this district and you look at the success as I was getting at in the intro of so many democratic socialists in some of these areas of queens and Brooklyn that you've now run in and have been successful in this primary and all but certain to head to the state legislature here in January.

"School vacations. Marianne carruth reports for the record in north Jersey dot com, she says while parents need to grant permission before their children can work the extended hours, advocates worry the law can lead to employers exploiting teens. When I spoke to the bill's sponsor, assemblyman freiman, he insisted and he assured me that the intention was not to leave parents out of the loop. That is not what the labor experts and the parent experts seem to feel. They feel that the language in the Bill needs to be clearer about protecting youth. And they also say those advocates worry about. She says the new law comes amid an ongoing labor shortage in the garden state. In other news right now, a man whose robbery of a queen's cell phone store led to police shooting and killing one of their own officers has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison, 28 year old Jagger Freeman was convicted last month on charges, including second degree murder in connection with the 2019 robbery, prosecutors say he planned to hold up of the Richmond hill store during the police response detected Brian simonson was shot in the crossfire from fellow officers a second police officer was also wounded and attorney for Freeman says he will appeal that conviction. We'll be hearing from voters across the country this morning. Nara amount on sorry. We just heard from emigrated to canada from pakistan. It's kind of a mixed bag. 'cause they're just have enough space there to speak up as well and then push the everybody checks on each other. Which is i think. Actually a good thing. You don't with how polarized the word is right now. It it feels like that's okay. It kind of makes gives us some fierce at the system. The pandemic is really the largest Crisis the country has faced in in in in one generation maybe more than that And there was an opportunity for canadians. Have a on how they wanted to move forward as a country. I think that's exceptionally important. Cova nineteen didn't exist as an issue when we go back to twenty nineteen of his something that wasn't on any of our minds so i think it was exceptionally important to connect with folks and make sure that That this is where they wanna go that they want to come forward. Your party was looking for a majority. You are returned with a minority What some people have said. Some ways is a lukewarm endorsement. For the party itself and the message. We heard this from outgoing. Mp catherine mckenna seems to be one of humility. How will your government move forward in that frame of mind and govern with with a sense of humility given what the country has said back to you. Yeah absolutely i you know the it is absolutely essential that the reach across the aisle that we continue working with other parties That we find ways to compromise. And i hope that everybody comes in that spirit You know. I think the message from canadians. It was clear that You know towards the end. The the the The brinksmanship these things that were happening in parliament to try to push a political advantage is not what canadians want..

"Half of twenty twenty one so we are now in the month of july. So it's an important time to actually look back and see exactly what's been going on And how all the sold stories in your area actually affect you directly. So whether you're in oakville or richmond hill whether ajax or markham whether your in oshawa orangeville doesn't matter where you are. What's what what matters the most is that you are in a position where you have some knowledge of what's going on in your area and you're always sort of again up to date on this stuff. It doesn't make sense to me for anybody with any degree of homo pride of homeownership. So if you worked months and years saving and saving and doing everything you could to get to the point where you own a home and you don't have again a regular update a regular source that gets you up to date on your property value. What's going on in the area. And most importantly what i do here. Which is the sold stories behind all the areas of toronto. Gte which again totals. There's a total of four hundred plus coastal codes. And i say postal codes because it is the way to think of it not in terms of just the areas. Of course i can. I'm going to give you some general stats What i call sort of the you know the the the top six give you those right now but every single area within those areas makes up a very unique real estate markets so within each postal code. You have a very different situation and market happening. In some cases you've got a thirty percent plus In terms of average prices and in some cases you've got to go in the other direction over the years. So i really wanna make sure that you guys are in the position where you know exactly what's going on so i'm gonna go through the top six so far for this year And the exact numbers are coming out in a couple of days. I don't want to wait. And i don't think you should either. Approximate numbers are fine for the purposes. Of what this is so what we're looking at is approximately sixty thousand. Plus sold stories of happen So far so as in may as of may there was fifty nine thousand. So it's gonna probably be well over that So basically just to give you an idea. about sixty thousand plus sold stories throughout the entire area of the areas. That i'm going to be telling you about today. So the largest amount of sales and the and the and the and this is the toronto regional real estate board. Totals the average price throughout all of these Ends up being one point. Zero seven million As the average price but as far as the number specifically here's what they break down to so for the city of toronto It worked out to just over twenty thousand. So it's going to probably be more than that for the july for the The july market Market watch. That comes out soon So you're looking at at again at the know as of as of the as of the the may Numbers twenty thousand transactions told stories and the average price being one point zero five million. The next on the list was peel region with eleven. Thousand nine hundred. So you're probably looking at twelve thousand. Thirteen fourteen thousand sold stories there with an average price at this time About one point zero three million. So that's number. Two number three on the list is york region with ten thousand plus sold stories again. This is year to date so far for twenty twenty one with the average price. They're being get this one point two million so the toronto city of toronto number one point zero five york region. All of you guys is there and again within york region. you've got aurora. East william berry. Georgina king markham newmarket richmond hill. Vaughn whitchurch deauville bill. And hello to all of you there because again. I've got a really great sold stories. I've i've i've helped people in all of those areas actually got family and some of them too so the numbers again in your region are are much better than a lot of other areas. And that's one thing that you guys need to realize that those of you who live there next in terms of number of sold stories was durham region with little over. Seventy five hundred so probably closer to eight thousand. I'm sure by mid year with an average soul price there of about nine hundred thousand The next on the less is halton. So all my burlington. Halton hills milton and oakville people You guys did again really great over six thousand sold story. So far this year Some amazing ones that. I've i've i've really enjoyed again. Helping people make the move to and from this area and it's something that can because it is close to toronto very likely and and this is the same for york region saint for durham. A lot of your buyers are going to be toronto. Owners who are selling properties here and buying properties there. So it's it's really important that you have the right person helping you do that. And that of course is me so halton. Region numbers are against over six thousand sold stories and average price there Average soul price about one point two in the last one of the top six is the simcoe county numbers and simcoe county. You don't hear a lot Talked about in the In in the usual updates. But again i like to break this down because they and this is all part of again. The toronto gt market. So this is. The bradford west goal of very area Esa in this and new comes new to come so this is really one of those areas where again it sort of Very very north of the city. But that's also been one of the reasons people love going up that way So against probably you know two thousand in the in the main number so you're probably looking at the You know let's say if it's That's of course you know for for year to date saw probably looking in that. Maybe you know of twenty five hundred. Maybe three thousand. We'll we'll we'll get you the right numbers if you're looking for them. I promise you you'll get them from me An average soul price being about nine hundred and ten thousand so those are the top six of the top six. Wrap up which. I try to do as often as i can. And of course individually within those areas. There's a lot of stuff to be unpacked and this is why when we meet and when you of course listened to the this podcast and you You know you click on the the come list me button or you want to get more information about your property and how it is pow. It's faring in the market. Then of course Again make sure. And let me know. And i'll be glad to make sure you get that accurate report in all the things that you need to know. Thanks again for tuning has always had yourselves a wonderful wonderful..

I mean, funny from Red Baroque has put on a great series every year, Um, with wide race television artists I performed there, Madam Gandhi's performed there. And DJ Rekha did the same. A couple years back, Uh, with summer Stage II myself have been a fan of throwing these kinds of shows Where what I'm interested in Is, you know, not just the kind of jazz or in Iraq or rap scenes that South Asians, maybe a part of, but what's going on, Also, and with Punjabi music, you know, there's some great younger artists coming out of Richmond Hill. A lot of them moved here when they were 10 or 14. And you know, English isn't their first language. But they are doing great things mixing language, and so I just want to connect these dots and continue to whether they're on a local level or a global one..

"Jim dolan was at that game and they lost that game to the flyers and you know and a flyers basically probably feel the same way about their team. Is the rangers feel about their team right now too because neither one of them are going to make the playoffs. I and i'm telling you the next two games against the hours in between that where i believe the savers but the next two games against the islanders where they did not score a goal and they were not in front of the net and guys like banaras. Don't even have a shot on net. I'm sorry things more like the firing of the coach isn't it you would think so but it's also you know you have to take a look at the way the team is built and i know there will be people out there. That will say they would not build the team the way that they're trying to build it right now. It's a lot of skill. I there's really very little grit whatsoever. And you know when you lose guys like lindgren. Who i do believe has grit. And i do believe that drew. Thanks allie and. I do believe that trueba has written. There's a number guys on there that can stand up for themselves. But they don't they don't have that bottom line that identity line that physical line group is as you saw again last night the fourth line and the capitals all over the rangers you know and having them in their offense their defensive zone so i looked man. I i don't like any more than the other ranger fan does i. I don't like the way this season. Finishing and i certainly don't like the way that the the capital's the islanders are basically just run rough shot right over them. True seeing richmond hill. Good morning tracy. How good morning now. The reason First of all boom has everything on the head. Everything we wanted to say daniel and we've gone to every game since nineteen sixty six and we were there when they were no helmets and can't understand how they did it but Right now i feel that rages. Instead of skating up and down the ice for practice. They should go to boxing last. You're probably right truce. Yeah thanks for the call here and there was a joke that went around. I went to a hockey game and a fight broke down. Yeah that's what happened last night. And i think the rangers are trying to make a point and trying to embarrass the nhl because the nhl does what this gary bettman supposedly is. Want this crap. Yeah i was. I went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke up. Thought around whatever. But because everybody's easy go to ocoee game. And if i mean that happens on the house gary bettman know not not embarrassed by what happened last. Because he's been so embarrassed as entire ten years the nhl commissioners probably done being these barrett..
