"Clark cohen so that i would be calling from clarkin cohen and there was really never any question in anyone's mind that i would end up coming into the business in what we do here is kind of fix other people's problems and it's kind of who i am i i you know i. I like to get involved and help other people out so it was. There was never a question in my mind that i was going to become a public adjuster and come to work in the family business. I had an amazing relationship with my grandfather. He was a really difficult guy he would fight with pretty much everybody and yelled everyone that ever worked for him but when it came to me he he was very calm and taught me a ton and then i had a wonderful relationship with my dad. We worked together for twenty five years and he kind of. Let me do things the way i wanted to do them and was very happy to allow me to pretty much. Run the company from the time. I got here so in that way. There was no question. What what he did in make sure that i had before i could come to work here was ahead to have a college degree because i was the first person in my family to graduate from college my father had my grandfather had no one else in my family had either so at that point i was the first one and they wanted. They wanted me too. Although i did everything possible to try to get around that it didn't work and they did make to make me get a degree before it. Can i hope. I hope for the best at the end of the day. No question question that when you look back no question at the time. I wasn't happy back. Then i wondered. Did you have that same conversation with your son as sort of a prerequisite to get into the business. I handed much different perspective of than my my father and my grandfather. It's very difficult business. It's twenty four. Seven fires and property damaged happen when they happen..

It started in philadelphia in one thousand nine hundred twenty one. The original public adjusting licensing law came into place in pennsylvania and that was the year that carton komu started started by psych lark who basically was an orthodox jewish gentlemen and he was also irish. He started the company with a gentleman by the name of leeann cohen. Which really is not related in any way. Just a coincidence and that company thrived very well. My grandfather went to work there in the early forties after the war and then in nineteen sixty three. He bought the company after mr. Mr clark passed away. My father and sixty three went to work there and his name was on the on the wall on the side..

"Not attached to the order. I think south carolina and stanford of the top to the other three You could argue. I can argue myself into any order for them. But i do feel like this. To me is a clear gratified. There's a little bit of separation between this five. And then the next year i throw honorable. Mentions they are texas am simpson passed in the sec. Moved into the top ten in the poll team to keep an eye on for sure. I think if anyone was going to beat south carolina sec game. Texas am the biggest chance. But like i said as he sees really strong. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw accountable to somebody else and then maryland top of the big time. They've gotten two losses to allow state in one from earlier in the season to missouri state but very strong major program mayor kind of coming onto radar. There's a team that despite the test hasn't really wants themselves into that top group for me yet but that Team to keep an eye on an awesome putting not honorable mentions is. Ucla ranked fifth in the country right now but the the eight players for is a struggle. I think we see it in. A lot of these games are bigger and then they kind of gets to be a close game at the end and they've got a way to finish becomes hard when you've got eight players in there playing tons of minutes night in a night out. They've benefited a little bit from the sales would say but the way the pac twelve kobe. Cancellations have fallen. They've been playing one game a week in their pac. Twelve play which probably helps given their short roster but eight players especially come march just feels like short bench. is short bench to work with so as good as mikhail anuary charisma. Osborne are for them. I'm not quite sure that they can make the jump into that top tier two are so good but they just. They don't have a lot on the bench. Like i said still plenty of basketball. Play my thoughts on this of several chain as all our listeners. Unser will change as season on for the next month and a half or so before the tournament starts but thank does exciting to see this level of thirty two half the league be discussing. Those not have a clear number. One team i think is very is very interesting. In is making the season found the all the cancellations and everything that kind of disrupts the flow in the excitement. That can like so. I'm finishing this up. Sunday nights so fingers crossed the as comes out. We're having a louisville. North carolina. State air monday night. Monday game tune into that. Lots of the games a week in all be back with you on friday with a new episode as always make sure you late rate leg..

"Hey her fans welcome to another episode of her hoops. That's unplugged as always you're here with meghan. Gower little bit different this week. Were here on monday instead of a friday there with us figuring out scheduling everything but super excited to be talking about basketball with you today. There's so much going on right now between wnba free agency and then of course college women's college basketball lots of the last week. Lots to talk about their as well. We're gonna kick it off with free agency though this coming out monday morning for you. So it is a February i which means that teams could start putting pen to paper on free agency deals february first coming half and stop the new though because there has been tons of news over the past week in terms of free agency. Some really really big moves have a lot of surprises Some more expected but Latte talk up there and to do that. I have richard cohen from our hoops at team. Super bowl all of our free agency. Work here with me today to get into what we've seen so far found. Wnba free agency here return. How's it going on here. I feel like we have to start with candace parker. There's been a lot of big moves over the last couple of days. I by far the biggest one. She leaves sparks where he spent her whole career to sign up with her hometown. Chicago sky obviously huge. Move for the sky is blow sparks. Big change for parker. What are your thoughts on that to kick it off well once. She showed signs that she was interested. I think chicago had to jump. Because i think we've seen signs law certainly onto james way. They've become a good team. The unless the shields was gonna come in. Make a leap into being a true star. They didn't really like a team. That was going to win the title. So if you've got the chance to add someone like candace parker who with even though she's thirty five still has all the talent in the world. Then you'd have to make that move especially as the coal is getting old to a certain extent. The backup with bene- slayton quickly thirty two and thirty five. I think heading into the season so if you gotta make a move and trauma unit title what. He's still got you had to do it. And pocket gives them a chance to take another step up. Hopefully with the shields coming back healthy to town in as well yeah. I grew at that it feels like kind of a if chicago looking to win a title we saw. I mean just shelter healthy last season. What we saw. They weren't quite there in the bubble last season adding player. Marcus caliber just gives that extra edge. They've got the best cards in the league. You add harker to the core now. They really looked like title. Contender specially if shelters healthy so. It's a huge mouth chicago. And then i mean i think we're gonna talk about a couple of blows to ally but a big blow talaih. They signed knocked up at lewis. Parker Chelsea grace only time one of to earth of three stars yet big losses for the spa with they expected this. We're gonna happen coming into the off season all whether this is a shock to them. Obviously they could only coal one and chose to go with neka. And i mean they didn't have the option according pocket because she was already limit but yet huge losses and they've talked about moving on with a fresh coat a fresh stop The the basic lost your two best players arguably and while we've just seen bringing erica wayland citron replace what gray head. They're going to have to hope the maybe tonight you go mckay returning maybe meriva She shut his from. Russia can help replaced parker inside. But basically this team doesn't look as good anymore and you have to think they're that now less likely to be a threat to win a championship and it's more about how good they can whether they can still be a playoff team yet agree with that. I think this team. We haven't really seen them quite be like one of the top league teams in the league. So far i feel like i'm finished. Third last season but now with the star that they had on that roster and always felt like. They're threatening to win a championship. Just because you've got chelsea gray candace parker guba on on your roster. That's a championship caliber team. But really seen them get there and now you lose to those big pieces so it feels almost like a bit of a rebuilding year for them. They're gonna figure out a lot of changes a lot of different pieces from what they're used to on the Probably win the league. In fact they're probably still playoff team by eighteenth. Big play her. Eighteenth make the playoffs the playoffs. But i think it's going to be an interesting phenomena. I don't know that we're going to see the top of the league. Of course money were moving can happen between now and the summer but right now at least. I don't think they're gonna be yelled a championship. Caliber team have been for the past few seasons young. There's still a lot of talent. Your reportedly resigned sykes hopefully christie tolerant place. This year. you could have tonight back. You could have live about this talent on the roster still so i would still expect them to be good but yeah you have to think less of a threat to be one of the top teams in the league. The may have been in the past agreed while we talk about top teams in the league of two other big most talk about start with chelsea gray because we've already hit on the spark a little bit but she joins the las vegas aces. Obviously a big pickup. What was a team that made the wnba finals last year. Expecting to bring. Liz can beijing and then at chelsea gray to that mix as well..

"Yeah. I disagree. Cheese. For macy's an absolute definite style just this year not a starter. Yup. Okay I think we could I would probably put her in over Maybe Call Your Hinds Alan, but I certainly could agree that this year ABC can come off the bench. Certainly, anchor your Second Defensive Unit. So that would be three front court backups, Thomas Bonner Greiner. Get. and. How many more do we have to go here? There are five. Five from coal. Reserves and for anything reserves. Among particular list that means we nine frontcourt. I'm with you on that one. So so we're just GONNA pick from this point on we're just going to pick the best players feel who need to be considered. To to start off the other two that I had after Thomas Boehner and grind on the front court was os copper. Obviously talked about it already and unleash o'clock who I think deserves it for everything. She's done in Seattle so far this season. I I like Clark. And I think that yeah, there's some stuff she has tremendous but I like Eric. Yep She's on the next list that I had for players that made it as the. The free picks. which she would which way round, you would have it. Yeah. You could certainly argue about. I mean, because Hamby's Hamby is is. Does a little she placed twenty seven and a half minutes a game. So it's like Jesus, starter. I think I agree. Bench and that sort of detracts from it, but it's not like Sammy Whigham in terms of the bench player. She's essentially a starter and a very good defender and I'm on the Leash Clark Bandwagon but she's getting older now I think she's thirty three and I was watching her and she's not quite she's losing quickness. She's not quite the defender she was a couple years ago she still really good but. You know she was a post player. College so she had to learn to play out on the perimeter. And I think. You know she doesn't have a lot of margin on Matt However, I do have to say you've only got fourteen turnovers all year long. That's pretty damn impressive for Leesa, Clark I mean she's really. SMART. Player. Certainly. Can't argue with. But I would say that for me handy is going to be. Probably next. On this list. Yeah. I can totally see that Yeah. I have a an unending fun this for players like clock, who do all the little stuff all the the grunt work the. Don't have sheik's she surrounded by players like Lloyd and still in in Seattle and she's the one who Defends the primary perimeter option who? Get.

"The back court is because I think she deserves some kind of Incheon. As the same it's you're saying about my issue hines Allen I. Mean this is sorta come out of nowhere and she's a fifty forty shooter she can't shoot free throws, but she's a forty percent from three fifty percent from overall not a great ball handler but athletic a good defender. So the question is, is she better pick here for the fourth spot and say Allemande or? Skyler diggins her. Three more people in my. Possible Options for God's so I might as well bring him up here before we may learn today. The. Place. I have. Recorded Williams who is Produced some impressive numbers by starting initially and then coming off the bench and ally. I Have Alicia Gray, who is Dallas second-best player when you go past a Gumbo Walleye. and has been impressive at times as well be on a pretty pool team. And I have Sammy whitcomb. Who is coming off the bench in limited minutes in Seattle or as a spot starter at times No actually nice she has. Anyway but shortland lights out for the storm, and once you start looking into the numbers. Even though she's playing twenty minutes a night. Her. Advance stats are ridiculous and would make. In for an old WNBA, never mind and all star team. So I felt she had to be in this discussion supplement. I. Originally, just sort of passed her by seventeen minutes a night and You know because. Because so much of the game is. Matchups at this levels. So much of the game as matchups and I think Gary Cloth in burqas done a really good job because you don't see Wisconsin in there when her weaknesses will be exposed cheese coming in and and just spotting minutes here and there where she has an advantage and they run a lot of stuff. When she's in the game may run. Plays for her which is really unusual. They never run plays for Leash Clark. For. Example. So yeah, the numbers are are pretty spectacular. I mean, there's there's no no question about that and She does a lot of good things. I mean, I'm not saying she definitely gets in, but I do think she is played at least well enough. and. Occasionally are play point guard as well, which which isn't her position and she's done it without embarrassing yourself. Yeah I just felt like she needed to be at least mentioned on the way for these final couple of God's sports the which fill. Yeah I think she definitely. Deserves to be in in the discussion. Unleash a gray was the name I looked at for a little bit and then I just didn't dig it dig into her. So let me look at her a little more closely now. She's a good player. You know the the raw numbers aren't that impressive a eleven point seven points four point, two rebounds. Shoots it well. She does everything just sort of impressively quietly shifty reminds me of another Lisa clock in saddle in the way that. She just. She. Gets things don without knitting to be a big part of the offense without needing to. Take much attention away from everyone else. But Again she's one I. Think you mentioned in the discussion, but I'm don't think anyone would be too upset if she didn't get any no, I don't think she'd be the feature naming a snubs article if she was just off the. Exactly and now you know and I just compare her to. To copper a little bit and Yeah it's Yeah, we're. We're digging deep in this, but I mean I look at great. Again, one of my big number she's got seventeen assists and sixteen turnovers and. You know it's just like, wow. That you would expect a player who's The, be able to do a little more than that. Of course, copper is twenty nine assists in thirty four overs. So sort of cutting my own throat. Yeah. Well. Ariel. I loved that Kim's last couple years, I I. My my opinion there was colored by hoping more this season hoping that she would step into a bigger role with with so many fewer stars on her team and that she kind of hasn't been good. Is the thing on whether someone. You Hoping Simone from who is still good is more impressive than. Someone. You weren't expecting to produce who's then stepped up into A. into a more productive role like whitcomb has in Seattle is. It's to people coming from two different directions. I mean. I I like to win. So I would have aerial Atkins on my team in a heartbeat over Sammy Whigham even though I whigham is really good at what she does. I think we're talking about the best defender the we've brought up in this entire group as well. Right and she can do everything. You know so so for me, I, think Atkins deserves A. Backup role. On our team. That's one I would go for. Probably. The other one we haven't brought up is Julia Almond. Roca your favorites. I should Julie. Not. Julia. Sorry. You're right. I have been. Pushing her case and hurts her skills for a long time since especially since being very impressed by with Belgium at the World Champs in eighth. Yeah. She's she shot lights out. She's done Indiana of also had. To offense and stand on the way get out of the way when Kelsey Mitchell wants to score instead. The evolves number on wildly friendly to because. Shooting? Really. Well, she's turning over too much and not doing an awful lot else. But yeah. She suddenly out a really impressive season for someone who count as a rookie even though she's obviously not. A rookie in the. More traditional sense or someone coming straight out of college. Yes you know the other thing about her she's playing for.

"And then you talk about Jordan Canada. If you watch Canada she and that's a the the the defensive statistic weakness is she has steals cushy plays poor positional defense in order to get more steals and social, give up a layup and she'll get a steal well. They'll gambling issue. Yeah. Yeah. So so I, mean and there's so much that goes into defense but in any event I I think we can you know, I test wise and team wise Joel Lloyd's a better defender than Kelsey Mitchell. So I think she in our she's GonNa she's GonNa win that battle. On. The other player I can alley is fourth best guard and the WNBA. Year. But sometimes, someone has to be number fool because you can't with anyone else to be above the. Let. You think they should be number four or not. She would probably be the one I would go she and Lloyd would be the two that I would say all right one. A YOUTUBE IS GONNA wind up as that force starting guard and you sort of look at them and you can say, well, quickly the better shooter. and. Our test would say Lloyd is the better defender. Quickly doesn't have the opportunity to pass the ball as much because she's playing with Anderson and when Burton doesn't play Lloyd is GonNa. Do a little more initiation to the offense so Hey you got me Loyd has one point five steals per game. Yeah I. I don't know I guess. Okay. This what I'm going to say, Jewell Loyd is number four because Seattle's the best team and we don't have Seattle player. I think there's going to be at least one in the front coop. are sure but but hey, here we go. We got Joel Lloyd, I think. SEATTLE. The teams does come into play at some point. One more name that I think a lot of people probably would have expected to hear in this conversation that we haven't talked about it all as Tulsi gray those guys think about her in that spot at all, she's in bracket. Well she shooting twenty point seven percent from three. Yeah the numbers don't favor her once you start to look into the stats and then the advance stats don't. Help her either yeah not by the advance stats. The player Efficiency Rating, which completely ignored defense but I do like it by that number gray is an average WNBA player and she's not an elite defender. So she she is big for God, which is a useful element in any defendant but yeah, she's not great. Yeah. She she's fine but I'm not going to say Oh you know Chelsea I want you to you know go stop a riquet here. Yeah. Though. That's a good matchup for her still I I I didn't even really have gray did not make my reserve list I thought Great Hartley is a far superior to player. And Chelsea gray off of what's happened the first half of this season. Yeah, we could get to the bench later on. Should we do the rest of the stars in the frontcourt I I? Agree I think that's a good idea. Okay. So in the front call whereas I had two guys that definitely made it, I had full-frontal players definitely. made it. I my second powers here and I'm betting I can predict to they are. They. Go Fool. I'm let's see I. Hear that Stuart Kid. Seattle is pretty good. Asia Wilson Yup Elissa Thomas Nope Okay then Dewana Bonner and my husband's Allen. No No. Maybe we. And you got. The. Other two had is definite were candace Parker and Sakala. Case I think we might have some conversation going on here I I by the way. I like both those players they're both really good can't argue you couldn't argued that. Oh. You know is worse or Bonner's worser whoever? Parker I liked. Parker I. Think she did a really you know she's done a really nice job. She's good player and. She's not as good. A defender I don't think has some of these others. A little little older but. Yeah I mean. I've been writing about candy. Spark is terrible defense for the best part of the decades. You that. But she is an awful lot better than she used to be I just. I think I do think she's been better this season with the sort of the lack of travel and things like that has has helped us. She's been foam will consistent than we've seen in the previous couple of years when she She tended to play well when she had a couple of days rest between games and badly when they were on one or less. and. She, does she does a lot for ally in terms of rebounding, bringing the ball up the floor starting the offense doing everything else and she's good at pretty much all of it. Yeah. I just felt like she deserved to get in this this year I think. Both with the numbers and with what you see on the court. She's been. Too impressive in too big of a of what L. A. Due. To to ignore for me. And I think that's that's really true. I'M GONNA make a little case here for Dewana Bonner. Because she's playing on really a bad team that has not much else. You know you talk about carrying the load and stuff like this. So candidates has got Neka right next door. You know she's got even though Chelsea gray is not playing great. She's got Chelsea Gray in the back court that's a really strong team to one about nine. I'm a slick around and go you know if we don't score outscore the other team ourselves were probably going to lose. And and so you know Bonner's averaging eighteen to game. Six rebounds. Two. Point two assists has the nicest turnover ratio. She's not shooting three as well. which is fair but she's defending and she has to defend all over the court. So. Well, let's put it this way I think Boehner's starter. We've got sick starters and I, think she's one of them is that. Which? I had her on the bench I have to admit. Okay. Well then. My status. So. We've got Stuart Wilson, and you got a Parker and now you like the Fisher Collier. We're your other two. Ahead I agree with you on Hines Allen. And I had Angel Trie. mccaw three to. She's she's just playing out of her mind they're spotting minutes for is a tremendous. Tremendous tactic from lamb beer who is really a wonderful coach he's. Not My favorite person but. He gets the most out of people and He's really. Really, handled mccaw tree. Well, she's really.

"I agree kind of a quiet weekend of like matchups you might see in the playoffs but. Adjusting ones on there, I like the other one that catches my eyes that Saturday one mistake. expects the ACS too can win that one but. It's a chance to see if the CAN Kinda pull together a little bit. That five game losing streak, which very well could end up to sign the sex with that one, but it will be interesting. decades and decades of watching Mike Tibo teams be at least five hundred issue whoever happens to have on the roster. You, you don't WanNa. Just assume a Tibo teams going to get beat again. Pretty much anybody. So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to pull themselves together and at least keep it close. Yeah I agree can't count him out. So that might be one of the more interesting ones. The weekend The F.. I think and then we get Monday off. The catch everything you couldn't. You sound like you're looking forward to the day off. Guys not because I don't love the game. Day. Job and writing and everything it's like impossible up with everything. A bit of an onslaught. Definitely. That's. been one of the good things and bad things about about the season is that there's always something to watch but. People are definitely feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of stuff. There is to watch I think this. Is Live together and also. It goes so fast to and I don't want to and I know it's on the play offs and stuff. But now I'm like with other decisions about college football near us this week and stuff there's a lot of uncertainty over. When a college basketball we'll start. So it's kind of like. When this ends there, we're getting basketball against four. Slowdown. Not, not. So easy to plan National College basketball schedule in. The. Exact place, which is obviously a big. Part of why there's so many questions around what's going to happen they're. Given everything. But hopefully. We'll see I guess. I don't have the brain space I feel like to be like, what's GonNa Happen to? The future, we'll worry about that. In a few weeks when we were in the playoffs for this season. Yeah. "Curious if you have any thoughts on like I mean, obviously it's likely both kind of alluded right now that we think those Seattle's really in their class at the moment. But do you see any teams that down the stretch you expect king add up compete with them like five game playoff series. I think she can't have looked like they can get learn eventually I'm not sure whether it's this year. especially with. What the Hell's going with the shields. Continues to play, but basically look like a complete shadow of herself. They look like a good team they're well coached now when maybe they weren't a couple of years ago with a lot of the same players. But it doesn't feel like they could really threaten Seattle in a five game series. It feels like they could maybe get. But I'm sure. They genuinely compete with them. Off, to that. I think you're looking at. L. I. O. Maybe Vegas. Both because. This ceilings, a high, an team like Minnesota. Who have really pressed everyone by managing to win a Lotta Games early on then I was expecting them to to be a playoff team, but I'm not sure that. That genuinely a threat to win the championship. Agree with everything you said at the beginning of the season I would have had the sky up there but I think that kinda hinge on what a lot of people were talking about as kind of like a breakout season bird shields like she was an all-star last year, you're going to be kind of MVP type caliber of player and obviously is not. Healthy right now. So that's not happening and I think that Kinda lowers the ceiling for the sky a little bit. If she's having kind of you know a great season I think there are a lot better team So hopefully, they find a way to enter healthy know what the answer to that is we don't even know what's really going on injury-wise there. Are you know she can get healthy it's going to be a huge advantage for them. Maybe they could challenge kind of Seattle a little bit some down the stretch. season. But. Right, great without her like full form I don't think that they're you know really giving Seattle a run for their money in a five game series. But also agree with what you said about the aces on the sparks Minnesota has obviously been extremely impressive, I? Don't think anyone expected them to have come out the way they have in the season. Tied for second in the League right now, I'm pretty sure. kind of I mean even with Sylvia Fowles being out for a couple games injury. A lot of different pieces kind of contributed i. don't really feel like they have like one player scoring all their points every night or anything it's A. Team. That's been impressive but agree that the lake. Of. Stars, on either Vegas or La gives them a little bit of a higher ceiling. A was one of the people who didn't believe in the ice is coming in because. There is so little shooting on that roster. And it was hard to believe the having lost Cam Beige and then losing plumbers well. That they was going to be enough to spread the flow and allow them to do they like to do wouldn't actually get to the Rahaman. And scoring, but they've. They've managed to score enough and their strong defensive. The trees looks healthy Aj Wilson will be in an MVP discussion shipping she stays healthy as well. They. They're starting to make a believer of in terms of being a genuine contender even though they still don't have the shooting. The problem is that that sort of stuff gets even moved magnified in a playoff series when you gang plan for one team and you basically stand everyone with a foot in the paint and say, okay, shoot. Let's see what happens. Exactly. There's definitely some question marks there, but I think by far stole the second or boxing up by large, but they are still secondly offensive rating. So they even though they haven't shoot shot welder offense hasn't suffered to horribly so far A large part of that is, of course, Asia, Wilson. So who agrees in them be conversation thank Looking at front runners for MVP right now it's probably between her and St Louis. Probably like I mean I know it's early but those are of teams. So jumped off the page for me. I would tend to agree, yes the other names. Certainly seem discussed, would be fouls and vander slow. Yet I mean thousands of missed a couple of games which so case. And Van. sloot. Brings in all sorts of conversations about whether you can win an award like that from point God and whether you can win it scoring a ten eleven points a game. She's obviously incredibly important to what she gallagher do Those awards tend to go to people who score a little points. Free exactly and. I, think can win it. I'm always a proponent of you know. It's not just scores the most prized efficiency matter what else you do on the floor matters but agreed that they tend to go to people that score a lot of points in it's. been part of it I think is I no. One's going to argue with you say that. We. are kind of front runners for that like they score a lot of points, but they do a lot on the rest of the floor to. Advantage to win it would probably need to be one of those years where most of the other contenders. So to get a have whenever that probably needs to be A. Little bit of an an opening caused by the lack of even though. She is as good as she is, and she's the obvious leader and candidate coming out of Chicago. I think is kind of. Interesting in a way because I think a lot of people if. Maybe wouldn't have picked her is like the leader other Chicago would have been like, okay. Is Shields going to happen if he? But, of course, we've already counted on at. Like you said it kind of another flavor you're looking at scores a little bit more. Win..

"Season crazy how fast it's flying by by next recall already be halfway through the regular season. Obviously, as always, there's lots of talk about especially with three games a night. So without further do I'm here with Richard Cohen from our who says Diem Hey Richard How's it going? Thanks for joining me. No, it's late. Your time that you said you're staying up to watch the Games live. So it's not that late. For your schedule. I might live in the UK but my body looks born us. Eastern. That's good especially for the WNBA obviously especially late tips have a lot of like at nine pm tips which I started on eastern time so I can only imagine. Doing that unlike UK time. But excited to have you on today another bunch of stuff. Obviously the w talk about feel like I'm missing having the off day this we had no often Monday. So it's unlike or whirlwind week of basketball. We often bath next week. So that's good. The players would agree with you I. Would quite like have Monday offers well. As I here complaining like spending too much time on my couch watching they actually up to play every other night so. Bigger commitment from. A The I it's definitely been exciting. But I think you've seen it in the injuries stop that stuff only been tough on the players in terms of their schedules and how many games they're playing. Yeah. Plan every other day I. Think we Swiss in? The little minor injuries they haven't been too many that have taken coming result crazy Christmas Kelly obviously. With a series injury but mostly, it's been lots a little muscle. Kohl's in ankle turns in everything else because no one's gonNA anytime to recall the properly. So. It feels like even those little ones are becoming major like factors for the teams 'cause even like Kennedy Carter for the last week going down stiff like a two week turnaround which in normal time when probably not feel like that big of a deal. But two weeks in this format is so many games. It's like probably. Over a third of their regular season time still kind of crazy. You you've. In, what would normally cost you a game or two at most you'll missing five six and in a twenty two game season as well that ends up being an awful if it. Probably will cost concert the rookie of the year. You'd think aloud the minute I'm not sure who she's GonNa lose it too. But the keep dropping like flies mets making that. Award. Sauce for the minute. It's been kind of an interesting race. I. Have some hot takes on that. But that's probably for another episode because I could probably talk with thirty minutes just about kind of what's going on there. What I'm thinking my but Yeah. I wanted to start with was tweet earlier today and I agree with it. But what it was worth talking about kind of talked about how you basically top tier. Now, it's just one team in that top tier obviously Seattle storm only for shock anyone by saying that look talk a little bit about your them there, and if do you think there's anyone that can kind of content with them as we start heading its way to part of the regular season here. They just Don't think all that complicated. You Watch the Games and they've just like the course of the League and. It's the numbers don't totally back it up here in the not running away of the top. But. The combination of everything that the best defensive team in the League. They. Score more than enough. And no one else looks like they're in their class yet the. Just, what we talked about the the biggest issue could end up being health, but they're also the deepest team in the League. So basically as long as it isn't Brianna. Stewart. That gets hurt. They can pretty much count with losing virtually anyone else. We just saw them Lucy five games and they want him will anyway. Yup, exactly totally agree with that like you said there, I think top the league for both offensive and defensive rating and yeah, they're benches just so deep because when you lose sue bird even Jordan Canada who isn't quite sue bird but still a really really good backup point guard on obviously was really them last season in part of them having kind of a better season than people expected with student superbeing out last year but they've got suber back now like you said as long as Stewart doesn't go down, the can have someone on the bench that they can pull in a lot of different places. See I think if looked, really good I think was at last night a broken the record league-record, I think for three pointers in a game or something. Crazy. Like seven point. One. Bucket night and they won by thirty seven or something. Yeah. Something Insane and I mean to be fair then playing one of the weakest teams in the League but still it was dominant and Atlanta never touch them all night. Exactly, I think we're starting to see that kind of dominance from them. All of it more frequently I think Miley take on them when the season I started, they started against the liberty and that like opening day, for Skim, the season. They obviously one I was kind of expected them to wipe the floor with New York wild like what they did with Atlanta yesterday in that first game, and they didn't quite do that i. feel like that. Just been some. You know Ross players that haven't been on the court together a little bit but they're certainly weekly coming into their own, what we would expect from the Seattle team. Continuity which always helps in the WNBA because you're coming in with a very short season and obviously the preseason this year was. Very, unusual and a kind of a mess. But when you plan to play together in previous seasons, essentially playing onto the same system even though it's a different head coach. That helps the star of the season. Because everyone knows what they do in weather supposed to be. And all basically donny's kept the coal from previous years and then. Compared to year they've added Suba Brianna Stewart and you go which. Is a nice little additions to make and just just. What you were already doing quite well, all season. Little. Funny say that about doing bird. They look, they have that continuity. They have you know most of the team that won the twenty eighteen championship on the floor, which is obviously a huge asset and will continue. As they head into the playoffs and all that which is translated enough like a few weeks away. Somehow. Not, really sure how that happened but he added a few weeks. We'll be talking off. That experience obviously in the playoffs is going to be huge heading down the stretch and win that everyone is day I, think that's feel like the number one thing that's GonNa Affect Teams making sir, their key players stay healthy for the Games but..

"Beating the best team. Whoever you think Panther eleventh best team in the country is you know Oregon. Winning by more or data point happens to be excited about that. So come back to you condo. We kind of on the top but then go back to that so yeah to me. There's like there's three teams that are the top three. I don't see a large separation between four and ten. I don't know if you guys feel similarly but I think there's just it's like a two tier situation going on right now and I think people are down on Conchas. Yeah they've lost three games by fifteen eighteen points but they were to those teams the idea that you kinda bad like. I can't stop from laughing like they lost three games the three best teams in the country. They're still probably number two seed. Maybe a number one depending out the rest of the season false but it does lead to. It does lead to some interesting and interviews with Jean. When the sky's falling you called couple of games to good teams now I enjoy renting. Yes I did too. I always ranch but I find it pretty funny what it was like. We're at large lucid. Goddamn game every once in a while it that he said I don. It's hard to say number. Two seed is a bad season right. Yeah I agree right. I mean they really could be a number one seed at this point right. I'm trying to remember. Yeah right I think right since like. Nc State has lost up. This Day. I think would be the favourite for that fourth number one at this point that they still get to play Louisville. They've still got the rest of their. Atc slate looks like my head two state. Yeah and A. You're so yeah. I definitely think you could totally realistically end up with that number. One I'VE GOT TO LOUISVILLE game. They don't have to play Florida state though so yeah they could play both Florida state. Andy's and so yeah. No I'm sorry. My memory is not served me correctly so yes. Nc states probably the driver for the number one fourth number one. See but I agree. I think there's like five or six teams that could end up with adding Yukon. Absolutely I think I think they're at the point where they're relying on everyone else There should darning some kind of crazy. Circumstances would to win out go undefeated in the not. The whatever the history of the American amazing incredible at the same time I mean. It's quite clear they're not equipped to beat the top. Three teams seems again right now least I will say that. I don't know I still wouldn't even get sent somewhere. Or they have to play one of those three teams for the final four. I wouldn't want to have to have your bracket I think. Oh as you did. I don't know I think yes. They've shown that they couldn't finish any of those games but if they can put all the pieces together for the tournament in the game. They've got a good shot to anyone. I think we've seen every time. The offense doesn't flow. You know someone doesn't show up if you get three those failures to show up boulevard Nelson. Madonna gets a little bit better. They can threaten all. I guess the challenges there right so you can't and looking at art tool now Yukon. Best win is against the pulp right. So that's the question right is like they're not one of the top three teams. They pinter blowout. Which as I said is pretty important. You know like twenty-five Forty teams or whatever especially on. We don't really have a great data point and like how they knew against the tenth best team in the country and Mississippi data these days. I think it could totally go either way to me. What is that look at the final scores of those Games Oregon? I think only one big never really felt it with Baylor. I mean it would four point game until five minutes left. So yeah but you never also felt like they. I mean there was that one moment at the end of the first half I think where like Ooh name. We do it on their own quarter but by and large it kind of felt like it wasn't put away by any stretch but yeah but they also shot thirty percents that game they all of a sudden don't thirty percent and I was GONNA say in South Carolina the first quarter amendment. They played tightly for.

"Let's go have played to a growing packed hall scuttle I've seen tons of rank teams. And then you've got south. Carolina does play UCONN and they'll probably sippy state in the conference tournament and then they'll forgot Kentucky and probably a couple of other teams in there that are ranked from the SEC. So not so much. That means that Baylor will get upset. But it's something to keep an eye on when they just haven't had to face that kind of competition in that long of a stress. Do they get a little rusty? Are they a little bit more prone to being upset than someone like a missing teeth like that day in day out so the sweet sixteen is no different than their regular schedule? I'M GONNA get down on Oregon because they lose one or two games but they still have to play completely ridiculous number of tough games between now especially with the tournament. I go or Baylor's one whatever it will turn out and work and lost the game. Maybe you could reasonably lose the semi finals wells. And there's no shame at all. Yeah I would agree. I think even if they lose one or even maybe two depending who they lose them to left impact hall. There's no reason they should be a number one seed. Quite frankly. I think of Oregon somehow manages to win out. They should be the number one overall seed definitely. Don't I'm sure South Carolina and Baylor argue? But they're at that at that point the resumes. We'll just have so many wins and it'd be good. Opportunity to plug are Compare team resumes. Pates that's why we do it that way. So you can argue about what everybody's individual ranker's but as I always say like there's really not that many games and so instead of having these summary numbers like average margin of victory you can say like these are the five game the played the game or you played or you know it's right and just kind of look like typically beating the best team. Whoever you think Panther eleventh best team in the country is you know Oregon. Winning by more or data point.

"Lots of upsets losses of the top teams. Going on there so a definitely interesting week in women's basketball I'm here today with our who says deliver earned Barzilai and our depth team member Richard Cohen. Who's new to live? Hello podcast so welcome aboard Richard. And how are you guys doing today? Good doing well hanging in. It's been an exciting weekend women's basketball yes it has so WNBA free agency is officially underway or alcohol it. If I don't check my twitter feed for two hours at work I'm in trouble is underway. But yeah lots of crazy. Movements going on feels like the whole scope of teams has changed dramatically and the last forty eight hours or so so anyone have anything. They want to kind of jump into their with release into free trump curious. What your thoughts are. I mean I was definitely a little caught off guard. You've probably followed I'm guessing the WNBA. Certainly longer than me. And I think probably million too so I'm curious like what were you surprised with. Maybe the first move which was Christie. Oliver move was was definitely the biggest. I think the biggest shock of anything that's happened so because I mean they want it all. They finally wanted if she wanted to go that in the first place so hugging back to La having walked away from narrow when off the winning a title in Los Angeles was was definitely a shock. Where some of the moves with with big you'd kind of seeing them coming from A month to at least away. Yeah I wonder what the motivation was right because she signed for the Max that she could in La right but that's the same that Washington could have given her correct. Washington could give them all but I think part of the problem was that they didn't offer her everything that she felt. She deserved so as soon as that happens she stops thinking. These guys don't value me as much as I should be valued in stops wondering where else she could go play instead right. Let me put it this way because ben deliver great right up. I don't know if you had a chance to read it. A did not write that for us though is on ball index. But he pointed out that he that the mystics had have to sign or hat design. Delle Donne Min and Tala Ver- they did not have enough space to give them all the to fifteen to fifteen right. They were qualified for like someone I think had to take. Maybe it wasn't specifically her.

But you've been hearing another version from other people we spoken to a lot of former employees who have seen Morris Dees opt in ways that they felt were not in keeping with the SPS's values, and Richard Cohen is also disputed that account. Richard Cohen has told us that Morris was well aware that his conduct was under investigation and that he had been disciplined in the past for workplace misconduct. Richard Cohen told us, quote, I fired Morris for the good of the center because of his misconduct. I should note that a lot of people were very afraid to talk to us. They were afraid of retaliation. Whether it was by Morris Dees or by the southern poverty Law Center. All right. But dibella tells us that she warned other women in the office at the time that Morris might approach them. And that's also we've heard for more recent female employees that they exchanged warnings about. How Morris might treat them in the office or in events outside of the office talk a little bit about the incident if only because the about what whatever happened to Atlanta at the end of twenty seventeen southern probably Law Center has not given us any detail on the misconduct that they say led to Morris Dees firing but Moore's has a couple of thoughts on this both of which seem to relate to potential allegations of sexual misconduct, or at least acting inappropriately with women Morris told us that after an event in November of two thousand seventeen in the organizations Atlanta office a woman there reported that he had made her feel uncomfortable..
