"Basketball podcast. We're back. It's Wednesday, may 17th. We are in it. Eastern Conference Finals tonight, Boston. Miami, game one. Last night. Lakers, nuggets. Game one. Nuggets take it NBA draft lottery, the spurs. Win the lottery TJ has a new team. Pro baby. His former coach has an opening. They're going to bring back James Harden for some reason. There's so much happening. The guys are here, Adam, TJ, what up? What a fun Tuesday we had here in the NBA. It's been awesome. It's been a good week so far in the association. A lot of drama in the week didn't start off good for all of us. That's true. TJ, let's just start with you. Therapy couch. Talk to us. How are you feeling right now? Talk it out. I go back, game 6, Celtic sixers, four minutes, 50 seconds. Because it was that that moment. That your fandom lifted. I knew. Four minutes and 50 seconds. Jason Tatum hit a corner three after playing worse than me and I was laying on the couch. And I knew the second that ball went through the hoop, actually before it went through the hoop because I'm pretty good at reading shots when they leave people's hands. The ball hit its crest. And I went, okay. This is not good. So with four 50 left, I knew that the season was over. As we said on the big show, our hoops podcast doesn't know this. I stopped watching game 7 in the middle of the third quarter to turn on one of my favorite wrestling matches because I was like, I'm not gonna sit here and have a heart attack over this game. So I watched wrestling, watch wrestle kingdom, or what Shinsuke nakamura and A.J. Styles 'cause this is a tremendous wrestling match, and it was better than anything that was gonna see in that game. And you know, Doc is gone. We kind of knew that was going to happen, even though, you know, he had improved his win total every year, but we still couldn't get out of the semifinals. I personally, look, I know basketball a little bit. I don't know as much as I guess the guys who watch our pod on YouTube and tell us we don't know ball. Maybe they could really break down X's and those better than I can. But one thing I do know is when you have a man who's 7 feet tall, we have a man who's 280 pounds. And when you have a basket of remnants, ten feet above the ground, you would think the best thing to do was to place this human condominium within a reasonable proximity of that rim in order for him to take that orange ball and put it inside. And yet there were multiple times during that game, were Joel embiid, who I loved. Don't get it twisted, but you can still be angry at stuff that you love. You know, you know the thing I love you, but I don't like you. Type thing, that's not even our thing. I love embiid. But I don't understand how there are times when that man didn't even cross the foul line. Like, it was completely legal for him to step in that little green area. And that frustrates me. And the whole situation frustrated me. And it's guys that you year after year after year for me. I like the clippers. I take a lot of crap. It is therapy. I take a lot of crap, but I've lived here 23 years, and I was a season ticket holder. I love the clippers, but every year it's something with them. Somebody's finger breaks or somebody's knee blows up or a tendon snaps. You know what the sixers it's the same thing. So it was rough, man. It was rough. And I really felt it. And that was the other thing guys, I realized that I shouldn't be taking this so seriously. I gave myself migraines as you guys know. I don't know, it's just not worth it. I can't do anything about what goes on the court, and it's just, it's frustrating. It's truly frustrating because but I knew this, Chris, I knew we had the best player in that series, but I knew you had the better players. And that's what it boiled down to. Adam did welcome to the show Adam, how good to see you. Did doctors refer to lose his job for this? Yeah, unfortunately, there's no other choice. I respect Doc. I remember watching Doc back in the day against the bulls when he was on the Knicks. I've known about him forever. But the amount of game 7 losses he's had, the fact that he was up three to two in this series. And obviously like we've said before, he's not on the court. He can't control what Joel embiid and James Harden are doing. But at the end of the day, when you're up three to two in a series, you have a chance to clinch on your home court. You can't get that done and then you lose in a game 7 where your team just looks bad. There's really no other choice. The guy that I was really frustrated with in that game 7 for you guys TJ was James Harden. There were so many times and I didn't understand this where James Harden would have an open shot when he was driving into the lane either a floater or a layup and he would pass to the corner every time and now passing to the corner, it's okay to do a couple times, you know, you get your three point shooters involved, but he was doing it every time with these open looks, he was just so passive and in a game 7 you just can't do that is one of the top two players

Fresh update on "rich eisen" discussed on The MMQB NFL Podcast

"Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones. Hello, everybody. Welcome to the MMQB Podcast. It is Wednesday, September 27, 2023. We are through the first three weeks of the season, headed into week four with the Lions and the Packers up in Lambeau Field starting it off on Thursday Night Football. I should be at that game covering it for SI, and it should be a good one. We'll get into that game a little bit later when we get to our top five games of the week. But Gilberto Manzano joining myself here, Matt Verdon. We have a lot to get into. This was a week that saw a team score 70 points. This was a week that saw the Bears continue to stink worse and worse by the hour. And this was a week that brought up a lot of consternation about the Jets and Zach Wilson and where this whole thing is headed. So we'll get into all that and more. But first, Gil, how are you doing? I'm doing well, Matt. But I got to say, you forgot to bring up also a week that we saw Taylor Swift in the suite of Arrowhead Stadium with Donna Kelsey. Come on, man. Yeah, I'm terrible at that kind of stuff because I'm so focused on football. But you're right. You're right. And the shame of that is I grew up a Chiefs fan, so I really should be on top of that. Let's start there. Do we think the relationship, is this something now that we think is real? Do we think this is like, you know, some people think it's a PR move. I'm more in the camp, but I actually think somehow this is real. I think Kelsey maybe drove the inside straight here with that friendship bracelet. He tried to get to her at Arrowhead. Do you agree or do you think it's PR? Yeah, well, first of all, sorry for making you talk about Taylor Swift. I know everybody's talking about everywhere, but I feel like I guess we have to, too. We have to. It's kind of a deal at this point, yeah. And you know what? I'm kind of with you. I think it is, you know, authentic, I guess. I won't say love, but dating here. But my conspiracy theory, Matt, here is I think they were dating before Travis Kelsey announced to the world he shot his shot after the concert. I think it was more like, hey, let's get some attention here. We are celebrities here. We need a bigger profile because, you know, Taylor Swift has, you know, worldwide attention. She needs more. So maybe that's where I'm losing myself in my conspiracy theory here. But, you know, if you're going to do a PR stunt for revealing, I guess, a new love life with another celebrity. That's the way to do it. Because the podcast for the Kelsey brothers, I'm sure it's blown up. I think it's number one on Apple podcast. So maybe number two is the middle week show here. I mean, could be. But there's a lot of tension over there. And it's interesting to see how it plays out and how people are very fascinated by this. And especially seeing all the TikToks of like, you know, all the wives upsetting the husbands saying, did you know about this Kelsey guy? You know, Travis and Taylor Swift really put him on the map and they all get upset. So it's been funny to see. It's funny because the Chiefs now have jumped from being this great football team that's won two Super Bowls in the last few years here to now they've become almost like Americana. Where when you turn on the television, you got Mahomes repping Subway. Mahomes is on State Farm. Andy Reid's on State Farm. On those Subway commercials is Chad Hennie, who Mahomes somehow cut into this deal. He's a retired quarterback who's now getting some play. Kelsey has DirecTV that he shares with Chris Jones. He's got Pfizer, which I'm sure in some corners of the world, heads exploded everywhere with that. OK, you've got Kelsey doing Bud Light commercials. He's on Lowe's commercials. And now he's got Taylor Swift up in one of the suites at Arrowhead Stadium, chest bumping, doing high fives, screaming some obscenities. And his mother's sitting there and they're renting out a restaurant after the game. Look, it's I don't know where this is all going. I don't know. Like if this thing's actually going to blossom into a full blown relationship and turn this could be friends like whatever, whatever it is, it's incredible. And on Sunday Night Football, spoiler alert, this is not going to be one of our top five games. The Chiefs play the Jets at MetLife. OK, where if you're into this type of thing, they're favored by nine and a half on the road over at SI Sportsbook. Taylor Swift lives in New York. I'm from that area of the country. That's not a hard commute to get to MetLife. OK, and I'm going to go ahead and guess she's not driving her Mazda Miata over to the game. She's probably going to be able to bypass some of that traffic. There's a damn good chance my opinion should be at that game. And if this becomes a twenty seven to three in the third quarter, we're going to be getting a whole lot of Taylor Swift's Travis Kelce. OK, so settle in. If you think it's bad before we're going to be at Collinsworth breaking it down. Torrico is going to be talking about it. It's it's unbelievable. You either love the Chiefs or you hate them with a visceral passion. I mean, I don't think there's anything in between at this point. Yeah, man, I think the NBC people, the TV executive are saying, you know what, this game might be very awful to watch. So can you send the car to get Taylor Swift so we can have a bunch of shots about her? Because Fox did it brilliantly there because it was forty one to zero against the Bears. And hey, just keep going to Taylor Swift and what, thirty four million people watch that game. So, yeah, you might be honest, I'm in there for her to attend that game. And and you talking about how how popular his team is. And, you know, it's just funny that it's in Kansas City. You know, nobody cares about those New York teams or the teams in L.A. It's in Kansas City. So a big win for the Midwest there. It's it's crazy. You mentioned that because I actually said something to my dad about this over the week. You know, this isn't New York or L.A. or Miami. We're like, listen, Taylor Swift to draw attention anywhere she was. But like there are celebrities walk down the street all the time in New York City. People don't even blink. It's like, oh, yeah, there's so and so. Right. And you just keep moving. Same thing in L.A., same thing in cities like the Miami, Chicago. Can you imagine being in Kansas City and you're walking around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce drive by in a convertible? It's just like, what happened? And, you know, Mahomes drives by. I mean, it's it's just you know, I've been to Kansas City many times. I love going there. The people are great. The city is an underrated spot. But it's funny because it's not a city that historically you would have A-list celebrities just jet setting around to get into. You know, I'm going to take my daughter to a game because she's a Chiefs fan. We're going to go out there in a couple of weeks, going to see him play Denver Thursday Night Football. And that's going to be like a happening at this point beyond just, oh, it's a football game. Which, by the way, I think I'm going to end up being hit in the wallet for the fact now it's a happening and more than just a game. But nobody's going there to watch Russell Wilson in Denver. Right. Like it's all about, hey, look at Kelce, look at Mahomes. Is Taylor Swift in a box tonight? Where is she? What's going on? I mean, it's my daughter loves Taylor Swift. And so worlds have collided. And she's like, if Taylor's there, we have to find her. I'm like, yeah, OK, good luck with that. You know, I'll do the best I can, sweetie. But it's it's incredible. I mean, that was in a four o'clock window where not much else was expected to go on. The Cardinals ended up upsetting Dallas. That was the dominant headline throughout the entirety of the four o'clock window. So that's where we are now in the NFL. Yeah. And it's funny because I had no clue that there was hints that she'll be at the game. And I saw videos where like there was like parties like, hey, let's see what Taylor Swift arrives. And they were just like, there she is. And they kind of go, wow. Like they just saw the winning goal in the World Cup. And it's worldwide hysteria there. So I had no clue. I was kind of like, I guess, you know, went for me with the pop culture. Maybe I'm a little ahead of you with that, Matt. But even now, even I was kind of like, hey, there she is. But apparently everybody knew besides me. It's funny. I swear to God, I actually had a buddy of mine text me at like eleven in the morning. And he was like, tell us what's going to be at the game today. And I had this brief moment of like, should I tweet this out as a report? And then I looked at Twitter and Rich Eisen was like announcing it to the world. And I was like, you know what, I'm not going to, because if he's wrong, then like everybody's getting crushed today. And if I'm right, I didn't break it anyway because Rich got to it. But my buddy texted me a couple of days ago and he's like, I gave it to you. You should have had it. I was like, it was already out there and I wasn't going to risk my reputation on whether or not she showed up to a Chiefs game. But he was right. Kudos to him. And yeah, we got plenty of camera time for T. Swift. All right. Speaking of the game, the T. Swift may be at this upcoming week, the Chiefs and the Jets. We're going to move away from the Chiefs. The Chiefs did their job. They crushed Chicago 41-10. They look great. So on and so forth. No shock there. The Jets, on the other hand, they lose 15-10. OK, they lose to the Pats. They were at home. They're 1-2 now. They play the Chiefs this week before getting a trip to Denver, which who knows what will happen there. And then they play Philly. So not a great three weeks upcoming. The Jets have been resolute, or Robert Sol, I should say, has been resolute. They're sticking with Zach Wilson. He gives them the best chance to win. Now, should be noted, they signed Trevor Simien to the practice squad, obviously could be elevated at any point to the active roster. As we know, Wednesday, early afternoon, it is that Simien is not the starter at Zach Wilson. A, do you think that changes by Sunday? B, do you think it should? I don't think it will change by Sunday. That's a very quick turnaround to get incorporated with the offense and just learn things about being on a new team. But I could see it eventually happening kind of like Mike White a year ago. And the thing that's tough here for all the Jets players, a year ago, they had to do some kind of behind the scenes. Like, hey, we've got to pull this guy. He's not doing well, that being Zach Wilson. And they brought in Mike White. And it's tough for everybody. You don't want to turn in a guy and be like, hey, you know what? We're not feeling well. We're not clicking here, but we've got to go a different way. Hopefully you understand. So it's awkward. They're going to go through it again. So it's up to Robert Sol to make a decision. Enough is enough. You saw, yeah, they won that first game and it brought you some wiggle room to make an actual legit decision there. But he was bad in that first game. And then the last two, you've lost and he's gotten worse. And he spends the entire week, I'm sure, hearing from teammates, hey, just don't turn the ball over. Just kind of just play safe and give us a chance to extend drives and make plays. And now he's out there playing scared. Now he's overthinking. So when you lose your confidence, when you're playing slow out there, it's just a bad recipe. So I do expect you to eventually take over as a starter. But Matt, just saying that Trevor Sigmund taking over as a starter is not a good thing for the Jets there. So I get there's not a lot of options out there, but like you've got to try harder if you're the GM Douglas there. And at some point, it's like, are you just refusing to take the L on Zach Wilson? You want to get more opportunities because, you know, that was your number two pick. That was your baby. Or maybe it's on Robert Sala being this guy who really believes in his players. And I'm not going to go away from you after one one or two bad games like you did it last year. Do it again. I don't understand what's going on with here. Yeah, I mean, listen, I fully am on board with what you're saying. And so Trevor Sigmund has been in the league. He broke in in 2015. He was a legitimate starter, started 14 games through Denver in 2016, then 2017 started 10 games. Like over that stretch in those two years that I just referenced, he completed just over 59 percent of his throws with 30 touchdowns and 24 picks. Not feeling great about it. Like since then, he started a grand total of six games. So since 2018, the last five full seasons and now the beginning of this one, he started six games. And would you like to take a stab at his record in those six games? Is it one and five? No, it is not. It is 0-6. So he has not been the answer, everybody. He has not been. He started on the 20-21 Saints who actually had some talent and he went 0-4. He had 11 touchdowns and three picks, but he completed 57 percent of his throws last year with the Bears. Started one game, played in two, which was awful. Like here's what I think is going to happen. This is just based off of knowing that area and knowing the way that team operates. I think Zach Wilson is going to start on Sunday. And I think Steve Spagnuolo is going to actually physically put him through hell. I think that game is going to be Spagnuolo throwing about 900 different looks at him. Blitzes, dropping eight, all kinds of things. And you don't have to blitz to get home against the Jets because their offensive line is one of the worst in the league. The Chiefs this year have given up 33 points on defense against Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff, and then, of course, the Bears leading the Titties. I do not think the Jets are going to move the ball a ton in this game. I think that's a fair statement. I think what's going to happen is after about three or four drives of Zach Wilson getting booed off the field, we might see a change of quarterback. Whether or not that is Simeon or that's Tim Boyle who's been the backup to this point, I don't know. I just think at some juncture you get to where Robert Salah is going to be forced to make a move. Whether or not he wants to is irrelevant. He's going to be forced to. And people who say, well, the fans don't dictate that. You're right, but when you have players who are visibly frustrated during the game as they were last week. When you go through a week where Joe Namath, who is the most famous Jet to ever put on pads, is saying he's got to go and, by the way, we might have to fire the coach and the GM. That starts putting an enormous amount of pressure not only on you but on your owner who at some point is going to be like, hey, Robert, it's time, man. We can't do this anymore. We're getting killed on the back page. We're getting killed in talk radio. Coaches may not care about that stuff. Owners do. And I think you're getting to a juncture where if they're down 14-0 midway through the second quarter and Wilson is, whatever, 3 of 7 for 14 yards, I think you have to yank him. Even if it means nothing in terms of winning the game. Even if Simeon comes in or Boyle comes in and everybody's bad, you have to show you're trying. You have to show you're making some kind of an effort to win the football game. Because, let's be real, barring an act of God, the Jets are not beating the Chiefs with Zach Wilson. It is not going to happen. That might be the biggest discrepancy in talent in NFL history at the quarterback position in one game. Patrick Mahomes is not losing to Zach Wilson. And he's in all likelihood not losing to Tim Boyle or Trevor Simeon, whoever else the Jets will want to throw out there. But at least you're showing that you're trying by putting somebody else out there. By trying Zach Wilson out there to go 10 of 23 for 100 yards and 2 picks, that's like taking a white flag and just jamming it into the field at the 50-yard line. And I think at some point here, Salah's going to be forced, like it or not, to make a move. Yeah, I'm with you. At some point when maybe you're down 14-0 after 2 or 3 minutes and you've got to treat it like a preseason game. You know what? Okay, it's going to be a loss here. You're not going to have a chance here. You're at home. Who cares? You're not going to beat Patrick Mahomes in the Chiefs with Zach Wilson. So try something new. Bring in Tim Boyle. I can't even say that seriously. Tim Boyle. Bring him in. Bring him in and just see what he has there. It's a preseason game at that point. Or then Trevor Simeon, I know it sucks for him to come in on short notice and figure it out. But again, preseason, just kind of do your thing, get people in line chemistry-wise. So I think that's fine. And it's just awkward all around, Matt, when the greatest player in franchise history, Joe Naaman, is saying, I've seen enough. Get him out of here. This guy's terrible. I'm sure Zach Wilson is aware of that. People hear about that. People get asked about that, especially in New York. I don't know if you saw that video, Matt, but Garrett Wilson was in the middle of an interview and somebody broke the news saying, Hey, you just got Trevor Simeon. Can I get your thoughts? And at that point, probably in his head, thinking, okay, finally, it's something different. But at the same time, it's kind of like, it is Trevor Simeon. I can't get too excited. And to his credit, he played it safe and said, you know what, I'm cool with whatever player they bring in for the organization. I support all my guys. But he knows he's frustrated inside. It's at some point, and I put it on a rundown here for the show, like, is it Carson Wentz? Is it Matt Ryan? And my answer to that is, look, there's a reason Carson Wentz is still out there, right? And there's a reason. Let's be real. The Colts and the Eagles both, in consecutive seasons, were like, you know what? Get out. We'll eat so much dead money, it's unfathomable. Just get out. Get out of our building. Right? Washington gave up a real pick for him. Saw him for, what, half a season? You know what? Taylor Heinecke. We're good. Bring in Taylor Heinecke. And then didn't resign him and let him go to be a backup at the Falcons. So you have three teams now in three consecutive years who are like, get out. We're done. We're done. Get out of the building. Matt Ryan, great career. He's done. It's over. He's not. Bringing in Matt Ryan to play behind that offensive line should be a federal crime. There is no world that that's going to succeed. Sometimes, you know, in life, you need to just accept reality for whatever it is. The reality for the Jets is their season's over. No matter who's playing quarterback for them, they're cooked. Now, I do think you have to move off of Zach Wilson here at some juncture because you're just going to lose the room otherwise. But bringing in Trevor Simien, putting in Tim Boyle, bringing in Carson Wentz, you're not going to the playoffs. I don't care. I don't care. Carson Wentz, yeah, sure, he'll throw 20 touchdowns. He'll also throw 15 picks. And he'll infuriate everybody in the room by like week 12. You're not going to win enough games. Your season was built around the idea that Aaron Rodgers was going to come in and elevate what was a strong group. And yes, defensively, it is a very good team. Offensively speaking, it's Garrett Wilson in what exactly? I mean, Breece Hall is a very good player at times. First of all, in week one, he was unbelievable. The last two weeks, he's done nothing. And by the way, I don't put that on Breece Hall. I put that on the fact you can't block. You can't run block. You can't pass block. Now Dwayne Brown's on IR. It's a sieve. You know what Chris Jones is going to do in this game? I mean, Chris Jones is going to basically be taking handoffs in this game. It's untenable. And that's on Joe Douglas for not fixing that offensive line or doing much to try to address it. So, it is what it is. I just think no matter who they put back there, whether it's Wilson, it's Simeon, it's Boyle. Name your random quarterback. I think they're done. And I guess my last question to you on this is, do you think this season could cost Salah his job? Or do you say, well, you know what? He's going to get a pass here because Rodgers blew his Achilles out four plays into the season. Yeah, you know, I think it might be a pair, you know, with Douglas as well, the GM. I mean, you know, he's done some good things with the draft. I get that. But like, the more you're making your points, man, the more I think about like, okay, they had Aaron Rodgers help you. Like, yeah, they're probably a playoff team, but it doesn't feel like they would have been a contender. Just kind of seeing everything now. And then without him, the glaring need of offensive line is like, you didn't do anything to fix that in the off season. Instead, you're throwing money at Dalvin Cook who could barely break tackles anymore. There's a reason why the Dolphins drew a line in the sand. Hey, you're not the same dude anymore. That's why the Vikings release them. But you went all in because you were desperate to make some noise. And let's face it, Aaron Rodgers hasn't been the best GM, you know, over his years with the Packers. Like, he kind of tends for star players and a little over the hill. And Douglas has done a good job getting young guys, but they really overlooked the offensive line. And Matt, they really got, you know, I'm going to say killed because that swap for the trade from the Packers and the Jets, they missed out on a left tackle. I haven't even been paying attention what the left tackle for the Steelers has done. But little things like that, like you go for a defensive end instead of an offensive lineman. You know, you don't, there was no, like, how do you go into Dwayne Brown and Makai Becton as your tackles? Like, if Aaron Rodgers was healthy, he was going to have been probably taking a lot of hits, asking a 39-year-old to move around the pocket to do what he used to do for many years. So that was already kind of a bad issue. So I think for as much as we want to, you know, say, hey, Robert Salah, do something, step up. You've got to help out your team and maybe your job's in the line. I think the same thing with the GM, Douglas. I get it. He's had some very memorable draft classes, but a lot of big misses. And I think sometimes, you know, it's just awkward to have, you know, the GM fires a coach and you kind of bring in a new person. Like the Chiefs, they like to kind of parry everything. Good teams parry their GM and their coaches. So I think for me, you kind of have to clean house. But then again, you're kind of essentially saying, all right, if Rodgers is ready next year, we're kind of going to try to get with somebody else. And if you're the new GM, the new coach, you're probably thinking like, do you want to go and risk all our entire season on a 40-year-old now? So it's a very tricky thing all around. So I think they might be safe, but you're probably thinking about it if you're the Jets owner.

"And when he hit that corner three, you know what I heard. I heard that very heavy woman start to warm up. That was the fat lady starting to sing because I knew I knew what was gonna come. This dude's too good, right? 25 years old. And I'm all about effort on the hoop court, right? I don't care. I think it was Kobe made. It may have said this. I know the own water said it once about how he'd rather go zero for 30 than O for 9 because over 9 shows that you stopped. You can quit. Eventually, Jason Tim's gonna start making shots, but that didn't, he didn't allow that to affect other aspects of the game. We still play D still had 9 boards 6 times. Two steals. He still was out in the floor. Yeah, his shooting was horrific. But he didn't allow that to affect the other parts of his game, man. And it was just like the writing was on the wall. The second he hit that three, I went, oh, no, because I knew what was going to happen. The defensive effort was high for Boston, kind of the whole year. Desean Grande, who does play by play for Boston on the radio. He had this last night. The Celtics have played 94 games this year, regular season and playoffs. Game 6 offense was .99 points per possession was 90th out of those 94 games, yet they still won by 9. The defense allowing only point 8 9 6 points per possession was second. It was their second best defensive game. The whole year. So while the shots weren't falling for Tatum, he was really good on defense. Al Horford really got a defense. They started rob Williams last night. Really good on defense. You know, the perimeter guys were really good, smart and Derek white were really good on defense. Malcolm Brogdon's starting to annoy me too, by the way. That's 6 men of the year. He's getting all my nerves. And remember when they made that move in the off season, it was like, oh, they signed Gallinari. Huh, that's a guy who can hit some corner threes. They're going to need that in the playoffs. Unfortunately, he got hurt. Playing Euro, then they make the trade for brogden you're like, oh. Brockton. This could put and then I think it was after that trade, Boston became the title favorite in the off season in Vegas. And it was kind of that way the whole year they went back and forth Milwaukee. So, you know, it's game 7. It's funny. The Philly and Boston fan bases, you know, we both, we have the mindset of what's going to go wrong. How are we going to blow it? And I think that's where we're both at right now going into game 7. We still have another two days. It's not till Sunday. I'm going to be a nervous wreck. The whole weekend. Of course. Now, like, I don't feel good. My heart was beating regularly yesterday. There's no reason for that to be happening, sitting watching the game. It's like I'm too into this, man. It's great to be a bulls fan because when you're not in it, you can't lose. How about that point in the game where jaylen Brown kind of has a fast break and he slips and falls and it looks like his knee went in 14 different places. And then they didn't even stop the game. These points. And the rappers were like, okay. Okay, cool, whatever. Like, what was going on yesterday? I don't know, man. It's just like I said, I don't know. I think this, I think this series just goes the way James Harden plays. If James Harden plays well, the sixers win. They've won three games in all three of those games, Hardin's been awesome, including two games where he scored 40 points or more. Yesterday, in the other two losses, he was terrible. So I just believe in game 7, if James Harden wins, excuse me, if James Harden plays well then the sixers have a great chance of winning the game. If he doesn't play well, if he has one of these four for 17 type shooting nights, they don't win the game. That's what it seemed like Hardin can get into the paint and take that little 12 footer he wants. Anytime he wants, but last night he wasn't. He wasn't shooting it. He would pump fake and then he sometimes got fouled, but other times he'd kind of turn around and look to kick it back out to the perimeter. I mean, not that it embiid was really doing that, but embiid seems like he can get any shot he wants and it seems like he's going to make it 80% of the time it feels like, but he was kind of missing in the last 5 minutes close to the basket, Boston really ranked up the D, Horford Tatum had a block there, but I don't know. This series does seem like it's kind of can Tatum get it going in the first half. Did you really hasn't done in any game? And which James Harden was going to show up. That seems to be the deciding factor in these games right now and here we are three three Boston, but I think before this series would we have been like, yeah, this is going 7 games, right? Yeah, I thought so. Yeah. Here we are. So here we are where we knew this. So why are we both so angry? I don't know, because we knew we'd probably be here, but man, it's just, like, that's the tough part about fandom, man. You wear this on your sleeve and you know what, you're so frustrated, TJ, because the sixers had such a golden opportunity to win the series. After winning game one. Yeah, and then they're at home and scheme 6. The best player on the Celtics is playing horribly horribly. You have to make your shots when you see the three point shooting for the sixers. It's a make or miss league. You have embiid over to PJ Tucker two for 7 hardened over 6. Max E three for 9. It just goes on and on. They can not hit open threes. So if you don't hit those shots, you don't win the games, and I understand why you're frustrated, TJ. 8 to 34 from three. Oh my God. 8 of 34, I mean, Boston, I think, what would we 30 15 for 35 or I think these shot 43%. And that's kind of been Boston's MO all year. They won't stop shooting threes. It doesn't matter if they've gone over their last 15. They're going to keep jacking them up. You saw that in game 5. They couldn't make anything just kept shooting them. And kind of last night really hot start. First quarter couldn't miss second quarter first half of the beginning of the second quarter couldn't miss, got up by 16. And then Philly was able to cut it to 7 at the half, but still Boston won't stop shooting threes and, you know, there's no reason to think that's going to change in game 7. So it's who's going to make it which harden shows up, contain them make a few shots in the first quarter to get himself going. Will the crowd be behind him? Jalen Brown was like, hey guys, let's go. Here we are. Game 7. I wanted as loud as I've ever heard it. I briefly toyed with the idea of flying back for game 7. If it wasn't Mother's Day weekend, a 100% I'd be at that game. But it's going to be nuts. I don't even want to watch. I don't even want to watch. Who's going to Adam, just break the tie? Who's going to win? The sixers had the best player overall in embiid, but James Harden to me is too much of a wild card. He just don't know what you're going to get, which is unfortunate because he's so good when

"Hey, what's up, everybody? We're back. It's rich eisen show basketball podcast. We're on a Friday, a couple of Fridays in a row. I kind of like that heading into the weekend. 'cause we got big basketball. And we just have to start right away. TJ I'm sorry. We're getting game 7 on Sunday. I mean, who's so surprised by that? I'm not surprised by that. This is destined to go. 43 minutes, I think you'd be surprised if there's a game 7. Considering, I felt like Jon Snow, I felt like I got stabbed 48 times and then came back from the dead. That's how I feel for the last 5 minutes of the game. What a game. I don't even know where to begin. Just someone else talk. Adam, what did you see? Well, brockman, I was thinking about both of you guys, brockman U and TJ. Because last night must have been so stressful for both of you because the whole game I actually thought I Philadelphia was going to win. We see Jason's hatum playing horrible through three quarters. He can't buy a bucket. He is playing good defense, so at the same time, you have to taunt him the good credit for playing defense. You know, passing the ball. He just couldn't hit his shot. And I just thought Philly had the game and then Brock when you were probably stressed out beyond belief, thinking the season was over. Wanting to trade everybody. Get rid of the coach. And all of a sudden, in the fourth quarter, unfortunately. Unfortunately, with Doc Rivers led teams, these past few years, they've had epic collapses. And the Philadelphia 76ers scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, correct? Yeah. Correct. 13 points in the fourth quarter. You are not going to win a game when you score 13 points in the fourth quarter. So that was sad to see for Philadelphia considering it was their most important game since 2000 early 2002 1001. TJ thought for you, TJ, I want to know how you're feeling right now. Mentally. During the game. Honestly, it's like you shouldn't, you shouldn't care so much about something that you have no control no control. I can't go out there and hit a corner three. I mean, I could, but I can't. I can't go out there and put any effort on defense. I mean, I could, but I can't. And it's just, to me, the frustrating part came in like the last 5 minutes of that game. When it seemed like the sixers did not run a play. It was just, let's just, you know, one on one to the whole. I love embiid. I sometimes don't understand his game. Because if I'm 7 foot tall, if I'm 280 pounds, even though I do have the ability to shoot jumpers, you know what I want to do. I want to go, I'm going to go down there and pound somebody down low, okay? I want to get the ball down low near the basket. I want to put my shoulder in someone's sternum. I want to make somebody feel my presence. And I just want to cap on them, right? And I don't understand why we just don't do that. And then you got a guy who I said was a key to us winning Tobias Harris. I said, we need 18 a game. He gave us two points and 42 minutes. The Anthony Melton 24 minutes zero points. I mean, it's really frustrating. James Harden went four for 16 from the field. Four for 16 from the field. I mean, it's just, man, I don't know. And by the way, we're going to lose game 7. We're going to lose game 7. Because the sixers are one in 9 in the playoffs against the Celtics. We're going to be one in ten and after this series. And nothing's going to change. And then I'm still going to revert back to the process being a failure to all the like Mikel bridges should be on this sixers team right now. But no, we traded them. You know, it's just like it's frustrating. Being a fan is so frustrating. And it's doubly doubly frustrating for me because as you guys know, I have two teams that I wrote for just the 5 million, no matter what mouth breathers on YouTube have to say, justifiably. And yet, I picked, like I said, last week, God was like, here, your favorite sport is basketball, and lets you root for two teams. And I'm going to give you two teams who just will inexplicably lose games in series in the weirdest strangest ways. It's frustrating, man. I am fresh traded as a fan. This game should have been over the series should have been over. Now we're going to go to Boston, the leprechaun is going to come out red auburn is going to come out. Somehow, Larry Joe bird's going to suit up and hit a couple corner threes, and we're going to lose. So there you have it. There's your headlines. Boston and 7 TJ angry. I'm done. TJ, the thing that you have working for you. We don't have anything, Chris. Come on, relax, relax. I can't relax. You were me a couple days ago. I totally understand. I'm trying to stay rational because I've watched this team play all year. I've watched them, honestly, should have won 68 games this year because they just gave away games against they lost to the rockets, okay? That's all you need to know. They lose dumb home games in their last 16 home playoff games. They're 7 and 9. So going back to Boston for a home playoff game, it hasn't been a sure thing. Like it has in years past or with other teams. Maxie played out of his mind yesterday. That dude is such a great player. I love watching him play. The energy, his baseline dunk late in the, in the fourth, I thought was gonna clench it for you guys. Boston only played 7 dudes. Even when a minute and a half to go, Doc concedes and empties the bench, Joe masso is still left to start us out because just in case. Tatum, man, I just don't know what's going on with this dude in the last three first quarters. He's over 19? Zero for ten in the first half yesterday. He was doing an one end. He had 7 rebounds, had 6 assists at halftime. He was, you know, kind of making up for it. He wasn't going to stop shooting. You could tell. There was a moment in the fourth quarter. I was like, take him out. Bench him. He can't do anything. He's not driving to the hoop. He's not driving strong to the hoop. Every time he gets in the lane, he kind of does a little fade away. Just looked off. It was just one of those days. It was off. And despite that, they're still up 7 and a half because Marcus smart. I mean, this guy is going to kill me. He always going to be the death of me. Obi-Wan, an Anakin, and then the first star. It's like, you're going to be the death of me, dude. He put out of his mind in the first half. He was hitting everything. Malcolm Brogdon was awesome yesterday. Four of 6 from three. The smart was three of 8, but I think he hit all three of those in the first quarter, if I'm not mistaken. I don't know what clicked for Tatum. That three in the corner with four 50 left over embiid. I mean, I think I hurt my hand. I punched the floor so hard. And then he hit the next one, and I was just like, where does this coming from? 'cause he's been MIA for three games. Chris humbly, he's one of the best basketball players in the world. And guess what? Back to back years. Only takes that one shot to get you going. And when he hit that corner three, you know what I heard. I heard that very heavy woman start to warm up. That was the fat lady starting to sing because I knew I knew what was

"You listen. As much as I was watching the NFL Draft last night, I actually had multiple feeds up of the draft. I was trying to escape Twitter to your point, brockman because Twitter does give away and you jinxed us yesterday, you jinx me personally. Yes, you did. You jinxed me. Because you brought up one of our guys who we love talking to. By the way, was he tipping pix last night? He was tipping last night. He told me he warned me to do it. I should have muted my guy Albert brewer last time. 5 minutes of time on Twitter last night. I have to mute Albert last night because here I am, Albert brewers tipping pics. I'm like, oh, okay, the pick is in. On Twitter, I'm looking at Albert's feed. I'm like, cool. Team taking such and such. I look, it's still 7 minutes on the clock. I'm like, I gotta wait 7 minutes to this pick is announced. And here's already and gave me the pick. So out there. Pick 7, that early. He was tipping pixels. He was 7. I gotta be honest with you. It's wild to me, you know, our joke around here is like me not being on Twitter, but you know I still check the show Twitter. I had no problem. I think I looked at the only time I looked at Twitter was to check our feed. In case you wanted me to jump in the post videos and you handle them all. Other than that, I just watched the network. I watched what those guys were saying. It was very easy for me to stay. Because I was doing a lot of Instagram work too. Yeah, you did a great job on Instagram. I completely stayed off of Twitter. There was no problem. I had the NFL network on and I was about ten minutes behind. I had the double TV watching themselves. Same with me. So it was like, I had no problem staying off. It was easy. I was just every time I picked that came on that I guess that we had. I throw that video out on the show page so you can watch the our full conversation with bijan Robinson, will Anderson, Broderick Jones, all these guys that got started. In studio, and then tried to tell you, Albert was typically compromised. I'm watching the basketball game too, so it was getting good, especially right at the end of the third quarter, game was really tight. And I was like, okay, this can go either way. And then you had the Atlanta fans really starting to get into it. And I'm like, oh, how is this going to end? And so I would focus on the basketball game and try to get caught up on what our baby have had missed in the draft, but I'm like, you know, 6, 5 or 6 minutes still left on the clock. So I go check Twitter because I just want to get information, I like to follow a couple of research accounts just to get some of the stories. One of the things is the first time selection by the same school in the top three and that goes to Bryce young will Anderson. Pick number one pick number three. Last time we had that 2020, chase young Jeff akuta picked two and picked three right here. Right. And then he before that Sam Bradford Gerald McCoy and the 2010 NFL Draft and if for all my old heads out there like myself, remember Courtney Brown. Number one, overall, with pitch from Penn State state. Levar arrington went number two. So that's like the research I'm like always looking for and yet all of a sudden I see Albert breer tip of the pick and I'm like, I'm trying to scroll past it, but now I've seen it so I couldn't do that, but I did sink in a little NBA last night, broccoli. Because obviously I was invested only because of you because a couple days before, I'm like, I'm not watching NBA. Why am I watching? But I do want to watch Lil Trae Young. I wanted to see Kenneth Celtics wrap this thing up. There was no doubt I thought they would win. But they toyed around for a little bit, but at the end of the day, they pull off the victory one 28 to one 20 and again, we got the Trae Young chance. Why does everybody hate Trae Young so much? Is there a reason why it's just because he's good? I think TJ maybe backed me up in this. Does he have one of those faces? I know those faces you're talking about. Some people are very punchable. I wasn't gonna say it, but he's got one of those faces. I don't agree. I feel it's like this. Anytime guys, and Steph Curry gets this a little bit. Anytime a dude can just pull up from like 30 and make it look like a layup. Right. I don't know, people tend to not like that. I think that's a little unlikeable. The fact that he can do something that you can't do. So it's like a little show off. Maybe a little show off. Like the little jealousy of people because they make these shots look easy. But yeah, when I know exactly. And I can give you a few of those faces. But I don't think Trae Young's one. He's like a babyface kind of really. But it is remarkable that people, especially the New York crowd and had such an issue with. I think for me, too, it's just a big sigh relief. Okay. Like, didn't want to have to take it to the what if scenario of a game 7, even though it would be at home, which, you know, the Celtics didn't even protect it in game 5. So the fact that that was such a close game, they had a 7 point lead. We had a 7 point lead, close game at the half. The defense did a great job shutting down Trey young. He had 25 in the first, only 5 in the second half. Did a great job setting him down. Marcus smart. At one point, I was screaming at the TV. Why is he in the game take him out? And then he hits a big dagger three at the end. Jason Tatum probably had the most quiet 30, 14 and 7 game in NBA playoff history. And so now get a chance to rest up for a day or two, and then it's Philadelphia. Here we go. It's going to be, it's one of the oldest rivalries in playoff history, TJ, these teams have gone at each other. Time and time again, seemingly every year they meet in the playoffs. And buckle up, here we go again, this is going to be a 6 or 7 game series, and depending on if Joel embiid is healthy or not, you know, Philly's Philly's dangerous, man.

"The draft. That's Twitter dot com slash rich eisen show and YouTube dot com slash rich eisen show from the combine of the draft sponsored by noble. Wrapping up the first round of the NFL Draft from Thursday, but a guy who can help us out. A guy who was kind enough to lend us his time as he's getting ready to prepare for rounds two and three tonight. He's actually the host of the rich eisen show and I'm so thankful to sit in the seat, keep it warm for him, but he joins the show right now. He is none other than mister rich eisen rich. Thanks for the time. How are you doing, my man? I'm fine. Kurt, thanks for doing today's show. I appreciate it. Appreciate it. Give us the lay of the land. How has Kansas City been to you so far? Oh, it's pretty cool, man. As expected, the layout was unbelievable with the train station. Serving as a green room and then the draft hall built in front of it with the World War I memorial and museum serving as the red carpet in between. There's that huge grass area that 125,000 fans all filled up last night. I'm a sick anniversary of Patrick Mahomes being drafted. Philadelphia draft, which changed the lives of pretty much everybody there and also led to two Super Bowl parades. That landed in that very spot that's where right in front of the train station is where the chiefs players would stand at a podium and Kelsey would scream, you got to fight for your right to party. So who knew that the two Super Bowl parades would lead to a dry run for last night's logistics? It was it was pretty amazing and the draft drama delivered as we all expected. You know, rich, I feel like with the 31 picks yesterday in the first round. A lot of times us as viewers, we look at you for the raw emotion just as surprised as we may be. So when you get I guess an indication from someone, hey, a trade is about to happen or a trade just went down. We're looking at the emotion. We're just as shocked as you are, are you sure that emotion? How was that last night seeing when a team is you think on the clock and the next thing you know, here comes the Houston Texans instead of picking at 12, they come right back and picking at number three. Yeah, I mean, that was a total surprise. And it was great for the drama. For that for that moment, great for the draft to have drama in that moment. It's a rarity to see a trade like that occur and the only drawback to it is Daniel Jeremiah predicted that the Texans would move up to three to take will Anderson and his mock draft, which made his mock draft that much more impressive than mine. I was ready to roll. Come on and crow about how good my mock draft was going to be because it was very confident in it despite saying I only wanted 30% of it correct. I got a little bit more than that. But really, it's not about me even though I'm calling into my own show. It was just one of those wow type moments. And I'll be honest with you, the Texans killed it. They crushed it that's exactly what a team that's in the doldrums that is in the dumps that's on their third different head coach and as many years, that's what they need to do. They got to be fold and they've got to be big and that's and the best part about it is it's not like that they had 5 draft choices or 6 draft choices coming into a 7 choice draft, they had 12 and they have 11 next year and they have two first rounders next year. So in trading in trading a couple of picks in this year's draft along with a one and a three in next year's draft, they still have a one next year and they still have 9 picks left to go in this year's draft and they got two of the best three players in the draft. That's what you call an absolute crushing of the moment. They're not hamstrung tonight. They're not hamstrung next year and they got the two best players maybe on their draft board and everyone's draft board after Bryce young. That was a home run to mix sports metaphors. The host of the rich eisen show rich eisen joining the show Kirk Morrison filling in for rich, but we have to give you your flowers rich. I walked in the first day. I mean, I've worked in this morning. The first thing I said, give me the come at me, mock draft of rich eisen 2023. Thank you. You got 9 of ten correct. And if this is what I say, it's not about the actual names of the teams, you got the players correct, rich. That's all that matters to me. I mean, obviously, look, Peter scary. All he did was go to 11. He went to the end up going to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but when you think about everything else, you've got it all correct, right? You got it all right in terms of I got the first four in order correct. Obviously I put Bill Anderson to the Cardinals because I didn't, I didn't do any trades. Anthony Richardson for the colts. Right. Bijan Robinson two Atlanta, I'm glad brockman for Sarah and the rest of the falcons fans that they got that one done and then having jailing Carter wind up in Philadelphia when I was putting the mock draft together unlike what would be the most Philadelphia result. Of the draft. And it would be jailing Carter dropping to them and that's what happened and they even just moved up one spot they flipped a fourth rounder to the bears to go take them and then for Philadelphia just just sit tight and have Nolan Smith dropped to him. Yeah. That is insane. That's why I even said last night coming off of the heels of Jordan Davis and nicobi dean from the previous Georgia national championship team going into Philadelphia. And now Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith from the latest Georgia national champs have been going to Philadelphia. This is just put hedges in Lincoln financial. Just put the frigging hedges there. They should send a hold off there. And just tap him roost in a doghouse. Unbelievable. That all worked out. Yeah, Peter Scorsese goes number 11 to the Tennessee Titans, not the Steelers. Hey brockman, did you like? Patriots? What do you think? I did actually. I didn't love trading down in the moment when some of those wide receivers were there. But then when it dawned on me, the Christian Gonzales hadn't gone yet when he is a top ten player. I'm like, oh, could we get this dude? Yes, because we're going to have to defend all of these amazing receivers in the AFC east, so love the pick, Bill is back. And not just Bill is back. This guy just said Bill has been. Bill's got a terrible draft the last few years. Well, here's what they also did is they allowed the Steelers to jump the jets.

"And it's time you better at least make one. So we win the game. That's really important. They weren't even close. Did you see the shots? They weren't even close. I mean, front rim the first one. Pressure builds diamonds and also pressure bus pipes. It was awful. Cut on the spot. So would you have cut let's say Shaq back in the day if he missed two? Different type of player. Not the same. And it's great Williams is still an important part of your squad. But you're a bench guy. If you're a role player and you say something stupid like that, you better come through. Listen, it's the regular season, Chris, if he does this in a playoffs, it's a different story. Yes, but it's a regular season here with like 20 games to go where we're kind of spiraling a little bit. And we need to stop the bleeding and you do it in a tough road environment. Like Cleveland. Like Cleveland's been a really good team this year. They've played us really tough. We haven't really figured out their number. And they seem to have ours. That's a chance to steal a game, especially when Tatum was out. Tatum didn't play because it was the second game of back to back. Jalen Brown had a nice night, no Al Horford. Blake Griffin had to start. And so you got to go out there, you got to win that. Dude, I'm gonna make both. You're cut. I respect the confidence. I don't think I got this in me. Of course. You know what you do? You get up there, you make both then you look at them and you wink and you go home. You know what I mean? He just like, Donovan Mitchell completely like Jedi mind trick, the mailman, don't deliver on Sunday. Hey, man. No Karl Malone. It happens. Chris, I feel like you're losing faith in the Celtics right now. I kind of am. Why the really rough stretch, man. They just do dumb things. They play so dumb. After last year, they basically gave away the NBA Finals because they couldn't hold onto the basketball. And you'd think they'd clean that up, knowing that was an issue. Clean it up this year. Play a little bit smarter. Nope. 22 turnovers against the Knicks in a game that you can not lose. They're without jail Brunson, you're at home, and you just give that game away. Still doing dumb crap. And it's so frustrating and Tatum for his greatest he is first female NBA last year. He might be that again this year. Finish around the rim and stop settling for step back threes. Like I don't want to curse so bad. It's so frustrating because this guy is so close to being on the precipice of making the MVP leap and being the best player on a team that wins a championship and it's like you want it so bad for this guy and it's right there just take it. You are right about the sloppy play in the turnovers that will come to bite them. In the playoffs, I don't happen again. Against the Philadelphia against any formidable team, you can't do that. And you're giving away these games where you've had the last three games, they've lost three in a row. They've had 15 plus point leads in all three games. You can't pull that obviously. 6 of the next 7, thank you, Mike, 6 to the next 7 on the road. What are you gonna do in that stretch? So suddenly maybe you drop three or four of those and suddenly now you're three and 7 in your last ten and you've given away already gave away the one seat. You've been the one seed. Most of the season gave that away to Milwaukee. Now you're gonna give the way the two seed now, like what we talked about with four with Brian windhorst on the big show, Milwaukee, Boston, Philly, okay? One of those teams is not making the Conference Finals. Just think about that. How good those teams are. Now it's looking like it's going to be you because they're going to have to go on the road to Philadelphia, even though Boston is kind of own Philadelphia in the last few years in the playoffs. But still, not this year, not the way James Harden's playing, not the way tyrese maxi is really stepped up to bias Harris 20 a night. I know we didn't play last night, but he's like 16 and 8. Man, come on. It doesn't really important games. Can't be given these away. It definitely feels like the sixers are on their way up in the Celtics. And could go down and really quickly. After such a great regular season, compared to last year where it was like the first three months for what is his team doing. And then they just took off at the rocket. Just rocketed to the finals. Well, we test here it's going in the other direction. We talk about how they just lost a Cleveland. Do you guys think that the Cavs are a legit contender to win the east? Could they do it this year? Because I'm watching that team and they're very good. They're very young. That's the problem. They're very, very young. But you have Donovan Mitchell, who is a superstar. He is a superstar, and then you have the number two guy in Garland, who's a legit all star player, number two. So would you guys be shocked if the Cleveland Cavaliers won the east? Yes. Yes. 1000%. I would be. It's a good squat, but I would be shocked if the squad really tough. Evan mobley is obviously awesome. I would actually just watching them play the last few games. I am

"In the harmonies. Flesh and bone wish bone busy bone lazy bones. And then we have for my top bone, the guy who's going to become and new UFC heavyweight champion of the world probably the greatest spider of all time. John bones Jones, and that is just my top 5 bones in honor of my guy, Bobby bones here, my new BFF and that was published. My favorite TJ is TJ, you. Yeah. TJ, hoosh manzano, who's got two mentions today, and that's the only TJs I know. But your number one am I list of TJ is TJ hooker. Man, that's old school, though. Wasn't that William Shatner? Yes. Yeah. And that's like. Kojak days that I would watch on locker room. USA Network reruns. Okay, look, this has been a fantastic time for me. I have just a few minutes left. I'd like to curse the Texas a and M Aggie basketball team officially. I hope you never want another game. And I love College Station on the people there, but I hope you never win another game, because you know why? Your coach, mister buzz, rejected it come on the show. He passed. He didn't say, no, I don't have time. I use that pass. We had a moment together, him and I, and then he passed and did not want to be interviewed by me. So I officially curse the Texas a and M, basketball team. Right here, it's over. The end, I hope he lives every game. He was GB on them, huh? Well, unless he calls my cell phone and says, I apologize, please lift a curse. He's got like three minutes. Well, it could be after the show. You know who else I cursed? Clemson football this last year. Oh. And you know what? Didn't turn out so good for him. South Carolina got a hold of him, did it. That is true. That's true. He did that. I like to do that. I take all the credit. For that right there. You should do that. Thanks to you guys. Thanks to rich. Thanks. That was so fun. That's a good time. Great, two days for me. You know, I'm gonna go watch the Arkansas game tomorrow. I got my alert, set on my phone. Who do you have quickly? Who do you have set as an alert if they play or they're playing or like a golfer? I have Jordan Spieth who I know a little bit. I have the razorbacks. What alerts do you have on your phone for sports teams? Do you have any? I'm not an alert guy. I just have the Red Sox schedule in my calendar. That's okay, that's good. I have the razorbacks on my note in which Saturday I can go for football. What about you? Andy and Yankees. TJ? I just have the MLB update for the Met. So I get whenever they turn the lineup card in every day, I get that alert and it's been going crazy. Spring train, there's a lot going on. And so I have to learn as far as teams go. Despite the fact that there are 15 other teams that I do wrote for. Maybe I should be. It's a lot of alert. My battery will die. I can't have that, you know? A PGA golfer name chess and Hadley. And him and I become friends. We just bumped into each other. I didn't know who he was. He didn't know who I was and we kind of figured out that we knew of each other. And I have him alerted on my phone and so when he makes the top 15 or something top 20, the Honda classic pumped and I see it, but I accidentally screenshotted a picture of his draft board. I thought it was obviously to my friend, but actually sent it to him. And I was like, my new BFF, he's in top ten. And you sent it to me. I said it to him like idiot. I don't even know if he's my friend anymore, but we were friends until he realized I was actually a fanboy, which hurt a little bit. We've heard those stories before. He accidentally said in the wrong. But that's how I'm gonna try to play a lot of golf this weekend. I've never been fitted for golf clubs until like a year ago, changes. And I don't have a deal with cobra golf, but I have cobra clubs and they fit me and I'm still not a good golfer, but man, it makes all the difference in the world. By the way, you say that and you're probably like a 6. No, I'm not I'm a 12. Okay. And I'm new ish to go off. And I'm not gonna lie about my handicap. And I can really hit a good one, I'll tell you this because we got to go. But when I played at the pebble beach, I hit a girl in the face with a ball. Oh. Well, she was like 8 foot off the green. And she wasn't paying attention. So I hit a ball, and I'm like, oh, that's a pretty good shot. And it hits a rock or a hill, and then it goes onto the green like four feet from the hole. And I'm running celebrating. Giving people 5s. And I get back and they're like, hey, you had to go on the face. That's why the ball rolled to the hole. Wow. And so I went over and she had an ice pack on. It was a whole thing, but that was it. Hey, thank you guys for being here for me on this. Hope you guys have a great weekend and be sure to watch rich on NFL network. And that's it. Appreciate you, Bobby bones. My podcast is 25 whistles. My sports show, and that's all everybody. Have a

"Plus, rich checks in from the NFL combine. Sitting in for rich, it's Bobby bones. You gotta check out the podcast from today's show. Fantastic. I guess. I mean, pioli, stackhouse, I mean, it's great stuff there. So go check out search for rich eisen show. Listen to it. So about checking with the rich, he's at the combine right now. You think rich and joys, or is there a day that he starts to get tired at the combine? Because it's so much. It's a long day for him. You know, him and Daniel just kind of sit in that booth in there. They're whispering. It's like Vegas. You got like two days before you're exhausted and then what's the perfect Vegas time for you? It seems like 36 is kind of the perfect and 36 hours. I like to be a big poker player. But I don't drink, and my friends all get way hammered, so I gotta cut a babysit them. So I'm gonna say two days. That's it for me. And I just learned a lesson today and rich is on with us right now. My hero, rich eisen and rich, I learned a lesson not to make fun of TJ for the 32 teams that he likes or his favorite teams because he got pretty upset at me during the break. He would let me have it. Bobby, that's called the third rail with him. Or I'll just put three being a factor of the number of teams he actually stores. So I think. One quarter would that be TJ? I don't know. Well, I've learned a lesson about the culture of the rich eisen show and that is TJ loves a lot of teams, but don't bring it up because he will still be angry at you when you go to commercial. The ice cream that will all feel pretty rich. You know me. Very sensitive, very sad. How are you doing Bobby? I'm good. I'm still angry at Bobby, clearly. Yeah, clearly. Hey, what's the vibe there? We know the vibe here. TJ's mad at me, but what's the vibe there today? Because yesterday a different feeling, but what's happening now? I'm actually walking through the convention center to Lucas oil. For day two, it's the corner back. And it's the second deepest group of prospects, apparently. Or Daniel Jeremiah, my colleague, who sits to my right and the boost, the deepest were the edge rushers, man last night. I got to tell you, they get bigger, stronger, faster, although no one Smith, the kid from Georgia, it wasn't the biggest. He's 238 pounds, which is like 50 to 70 pounds lighter than a lot of the other defensive line that we're running. But he ran a four three 9 last night and jumped 41 and a half inches on the vertical, which is the way of saying somebody jumped out of the gym. He crushed it last night. And stat that came across that since 2003 since we've been kind of doing this combine on NFL network in terms of anybody over 200 and 15 pounds, there's only been two other guys who have jumped over 40 inches on the vertical and ran faster than four four at the combine and the two other guys are brief hall, the jets running back they chose last year and DK Metcalf. And this guy's this guy's coming for quarterback. I mean, that's a running back and a receiver. This guy's coming for quarterbacks and that's what showed last night. If these guys get bigger, stronger, faster, chasing down quarterbacks. And tonight, the back end of the defense. And they're apparently just a talented. So with Nolan Smith, running so fast, but also dealing with an injury all of the most elastic season as well. So if a team was like, he's been hurt. We'll knock him down a little bit. Does this kind of lift him back up to even? Or does it even propel him farther than that? The fact that he's such an athlete. I think it's going to propel him pretty damn farming. It was funny, I don't know if you guys caught the coverage yesterday. When you did it, but the initial, the initial was four four. That was the initial number that we clocked in. And that pissed him off. He took his phone, who somebody apparently told him that he clocked at his four four. He threw it down in his bag. He got really angry. And then he shot the official comes in at four three 9 and he was now suddenly like in a much better mood. Stacey Dale's our colleague field went up to him and interviewed him on live TV and he starts talking about how, you know, this is the way he wanted to run and we showed video of his Georgia teammates watching him and at a watch party going crazy. And at one point he then said, Georgia, great spot. I don't know if you know, but we've built a new restaurant in our locker room. And they serve stake in lobster. And I'm like, you know, that's kind of on brand, right? I mean, Georgia, they went and championships, the serving surf and turf to their 5 star recruits. I mean, my gosh. I'm glad that he used the platform because I think Georgia needs the publicity. So it all worked out for him and the bulldogs. We're talking about the bulldogs. Obviously there's a lot to talk about Georgia taking over Alabama as the powerhouse and even it was set to Nick Saban's face during the national championship game.

"Scissor. You seem like a person with a pretty high level of anxiety, but you also seem fearless, artistically. I feel like ideas have more power than identity. Like the excitement overrides insecurity. That is the only way that I'm ever able to accomplish anything. Rolling Stone music now, wherever you listen. All right, coming out a few minutes, rich eisen from the combine, and then a little later in studio, Craig Kilborn, super excited about both of those. Also, let me say, we had Coleman crawley on kid, traveling to all these schools, to find the next Cinderella. His Twitter is sharp shot select. If you guys want to follow him. Now I do want to go over. Because Chris who brought this up is world Chamberlain's anniversary, right? A hundred points in a game. It's like a dude, pass me the ball. Or is it? Do you have the final score of that game? Yeah, so this was obviously march 2nd, 19 62, the 61st anniversary Mike do the math for you. Philadelphia warriors, obviously they go on to become the Golden State Warriors. One 69 to one 47 over the New York Knicks. So there was another 69 point score. So maybe people felt pretty fulfilled. Oh, I got a few shots in. I guess if it was a 103, that's a big surprise. His teammates, 11, 16, 17, 16, and York laurice poured in 9. Yeah, I don't know your Clarice. I didn't follow his 30 for 30. Familiar. But that's the Pennsylvania laurice. Obviously no three point line will play all 48 minutes. 36 of 63 from the field, 28 of 32 from the foul line, 25 rebounds, hey, and don't say he never passed guys to assist. But did you hear the 28 for 32 from the free throw line? For a big guy, that's almost absurd. This day and age. I mean, almost 90%, and what was a career 51% free throw shooter. So he had a good night at the line. Yeah, that seems fishy though. He's 51 all of a sudden he's like 90. On the night. I don't know when you talk to a statistician that was there. Here we go, top 5 records of never be broken. I have my list, and then I'm going to go to you guys. Number 5, Scott skiles is 30 assists. Oh. On December 30th, 1990. You think after assist 20, the guys in the other team go, hey, shooting. It's obvious. He's not going to shoot the ball. We figured this out. Yeah. But 30 assists. Yeah, that's crazy. I think like LeBron had like 19 in the last couple years was like

"And obviously all of the things that have come out in the past few months where, listen, they're trying to get Dan Snyder out of there. I would be trying to get Dan Snyder out of there. He's a black eye for the league. But he got an F minus. If you get any F minus, this is what they should do. We send you down like they do in soccer. We're going to do the report card any F minus, you're what do they call it? Relegated. Relegated. I don't watch soccer that much. But that's what they should do. But the report card was hilarious to me. I was at the house. Last week, and I'm working out, all those Apple watches, one of the new ones. I'm blind pretty much. So my right eye has 8% vision, period. My left eye is all messed up too, so I wear glasses. And they're very thick rimmed glasses, my inspirations as a kid were Rivers Cuomo from weezer. Buddy Holly. And I thought, well, if they can be nerdy and cool, maybe I can be nerdy and cool. Do you have a Buddy Holly vibe? Thank you. Well, I think thank you. Yes. Okay, cool. And so Corey soman from stand by me a little bit. Yeah, yeah. You've moved down to number four on the ballot list of cowboys fans. Number three, there's no one. That's a great movie. Yeah, I agree. It's just a court comment thing, you know? I hate man. He did this thing. Goes off. It's a phone call. And it says, you don't have to have their number on your phone. Some people, their name just pops up because I don't know. I don't know how it worked out. Caller ID, we used to know it would go, here's a number. Here's the name associated with it. Cell phones that didn't happen all the time. No. But sometimes it'll go and it says his number and it says rich eisen. And I'm like, guys, rich eisen's calling me right now. I just, it was the tail end of my workout. And I don't want to answer like this. Because I felt like that wouldn't be a good first. He would know what was that? What are you doing? So I didn't answer a text and back after I gained my composure, and I was like, hey man, sorry, mister call. But I started to get nervous to even talk to him on the phone. Because rich eyes and to me is, hero status. When it comes to people that have influenced my life in many ways, as a personality, because he was able to be a personality in sports, which there wasn't a lot of that told that era happened. True. And so I was like, I can't call him. I don't have an enemy right now. It was like, he was a 7th grade girl, a 7th grade boy, and she was calling me. And I couldn't answer the folks. I was too nervous because I didn't know what I was going to say. And so I finished a lot of my work for that evening, and I texted him. I said, hey man, I'm able to talk. I gained my head, warmed up some milk, and did the whole thing when you calm yourself down, took some deep breaths. So I can talk now. And he said, I'm at dinner, I'll call you tomorrow. I said, okay, so then all night, I just kept thinking, Jackson's gonna call me tomorrow. Sleep at night. It's a tough one for me. So then finally, he calls. And he's like, hey man, and I'm I'll be honest here. I was playing Madden. I played mad. We playing the league me and my fourth with three friends. We playing a mad league where we gamble. But we each have a team. We build them, shout out to the Steve loves Doritos, Madden league, and we're in and I'm playing but you talk to your friends at the same time. And so rich calls, and I just put it on speaker. So my friend can hear that I'm talking to rich eisen. Enriched in something bad, obviously, but he was so cool, and he goes, hey, man, you're coming in, you gotta love the guys. Make the show your own. Book who you want a book? And I'm like, I'm talking to rich eisen right now. Like, it was one of those moments where I really appreciated kind of how hard I had worked. And the decisions I make is I was getting to talk to rich eyes, and that to me was cool. Do you guys ever have anybody that comes in here where you see them and you go, you know, I get to see a lot of people a lot of time, but this is cool. Like this is special because to me that was special. The fact that he took time out of his day, he could have had any of you guys call me. He could have had it an assistant of an assistant, but he called me and sat on the phone for 15, 20 minutes. And that to me, I was like, ridge must be awesome. Like as a human, and so that was special to me, so I want to ask you guys, you guys get to be around a lot of cool people. Chris, I'll start with you. Who have you met? And you're like, oh man, I'm jaded, but right now this is awesome. That's come through these doors. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Listen, life? I got yours. Go ahead. Al Michaels, man. That's the guy. He came in the studio. And I was like, wow, this is out, Michaels. I watched him on TV as a kid. He does a miracle on ice. I remember watching that when they replayed it, and I was like, this is so

"Rich eisen is calling me, that's cool. I'll let Steve hear me talk to rich Isaac on speaker phone and he was like, what was he even writing about? Oh my God. Today's gas. College basketball analyst, Coleman Crowley. Rich eisen checks in from Indianapolis. Host of the life gorgeous podcast, Craig Kilborn and now sitting in for rich. It's Bobby bones. The question in a few minutes is a creepy to tweet a recruit. Like as an adult man, I had to hypothetically also have a technical. Yeah. So we'll talk about that coming up in a few minutes. The NFLPA put out the player team report cards and it just fascinating to see all of this together. And the fact that somebody got an F minus that doesn't exist. An F minus doesn't exist and get a real break. You got a team got one. It's amazing. So if you go over to the NFLPA website, I'll read you part of this article. One of our core jobs as a union is to improve the overall working conditions for our players, which includes the daily experience, so they list all the report cards. Up first, treatment of families. So it's you, your family, your kids, your wife, your grandma, whomever comes, how do they treat you? Baby mama. Number one, a plus, Dallas Cowboys. And I'm just gonna give you the a's and basically the D's in the apps. The panther is at an a and the Vikings at an a and the Buffalo Bills and a minus. And that mine is probably just because it's snowing hard to get there. You know, it's hard to get the whole family there when you gotta get a snowplow. Cold. Now, if you can go down to the F's and the D's. I laughed out loud at these Broncos D plus. I thought it would be better. That's not a team that I will. Yeah. And now the Walmart owners bought, you should have access to everything. You walk into the facility with a Walmart in there. What do you need? Yes. They gave Sean Payton the store from what we understand. That ain't true, is it? No. That would be awesome. Also, the rams, what you guys live here, are they known as an organization that doesn't take care of them? I didn't see that. I don't really know much about them. Wow. The box, the Chargers, the Steelers, all with D's or D minuses. Now let's get to the F's. Uh oh. The Arizona Cardinals with an F natural. I look at as being F and anything. The owner flies you. Down there flies you, he picks you up on his own plane. Okay, Cincinnati Bengals F, I get it. Cincinnati has always been known for not spending a whole bunch of money on their facilities. Their practice facility outside. You know, to get that. That I get that. Okay. The Jaguars and the Washington commanders. Well, that's not surprising. They can be F's across the board and be like, yeah, I thought that. Yeah, yeah, I got that. Yep. Another one. Let's go over to weight room, which you think would be a priority for everything. For every team, it should be a plus. Here are your 8 pluses. The cowboys the bills. I'm in come on. The Raiders and the dolphins. Big strong boy. There are a lot of a's and a minuses, but let's go down to the one F minus. Can we guess this? What team has the weak or so line? That's fun. Yeah. Good question. Defensive line. I don't know. That was just a guess. I have no idea, Barbie. It's the Cardinals again. An F minus, do they not have two 45s? They only have one. The one bar, there's always a line for bench. It's like the plate. Give me a 45 and then a 25 and a two. You have to do not have two 45. You're doing the map to make the bars equal on each side. I got 45 on the right and I got 25 on the left but we'll put two on so you're still about 5 pounds of an F minus. What do they do to give you a membership to 24 hour fitness? That's it? They don't have it. There's no weight room. It's like, here's your key card to get in over it. Well, they give you a 24 hour fitness membership, Bobby, but it's only open for 19 hours. That's how they get you. That's where that effort comes. Locker room dolphins a plus, Vikings a plus, raiders, a plus cowboys a plus. How does everybody not want to go play with the cowboys? 32 time Super Bowl champions, exactly. We have two F's. One of them is the Cardinals again. Do they even have a facility? Do they just meet at the why before the game? What's happening here? How do they have so many apps on things? This seems awful biased. Yeah, it's like the basic stuff. Which room being nice to your players families. It's like when you're a kid. You learn that in kindergarten. Be kind, be nice. It's very simple. That should be easy. You don't have like a food rating or any of that. You should have to have, if you're trying to open up like a Jimmy John's, they go, they go, okay. Do you have enough money to open this? And we need to see that you have the network to make sure you can keep funding it over a while. I do not only Jimmy Johnson. I've been to one in a while. I just said what came to my head. So if Jimmy John's, they want to make sure to the cardinals not have the money. They buy the team, but they can't actually afford to fix the car. They bought that was way too expensive anyway. That's crazy. The commanders, F minus. F minus. Oh, they can't even decide on that team. In locker room. They pay a quarter to get in the locker every time. And by the way, the Dallas cowboy tutors locker room is nicer than most of the that's right next to the regular players locker room. It's nicer than half the teams in America, like their locker rooms. It's beautiful. So Dallas is getting aids for a reason. Yeah, Dallas is crushing the report card. The travel and I'll end on this one. A plus is for three teams, the Raiders, the saints, and the Texans on travel, and then if we scroll to the bottom of this, the Cardinals. There are four F's and one F minus. But we know one of them. And you're not going to believe this. The Cardinals, not enough. Yeah. The Cardinals actually got a B plus. It's the one thing they spend money on apparently. It's like a train ticket. It's like, all right, get on, guys. We're covering it. You can sit in the front. Well, they do have their own plane. Yeah, that makes. Here we go. The only F minus was the commanders. Is that place just miserable to be? It has to be. I have no connection. I don't know anybody there. I just know people that are commanders fans and they hate Dan Snyder because he won't spend the money well apparently to have a locker for the player or spend money on the players.

"League addressing this quarterback pushes the push plays to use the jail and so forth. Do you have any reaction to that? Any thoughts on or maybe buy that? Talking to the conversations. Yeah, I think it's a better question for coach cherry. All I know is everything we're doing is legal. And it works and just because people do something that's really good, doesn't mean it should be outlawed. Have a hard time understanding personally why this is such a big issue. Yes, the eagles ran it perfectly many times. Haven't we seen this our whole lives watching football Chris, why are you laughing so much? Because you love him. I think because I think as time goes on and on here, I love Howie roseman more and more. It stinks that he's not running my favorite team, just how awesome the job this guy's done. In recent years, I think this whole thing with the push is hilarious. Nobody can stop it. So everyone's like, we can't stop it. Let's get it banned. But also, it's been around forever. So yeah, but nobody's really done it to the extent that the eagles have done it here. They've really figured out kind of a loophole TJ of like, we're gonna bring the rugby scrum and we also have this awesome quarterback who can't really be stopped. So let's just kind of shove everybody forward. This is kind of what goes back to like, can we blame Matt leinart and Reggie Bush for this? This is kind of where it started. Also, I can understand why you're a fan of this because your team is quite notorious for taking those rules. A lot of rules that people don't even know exists and kind of, you know, pushing it to the edge. It's still legal, but because no one knows about it, people are like, oh, this is wrong. It's like, nah, we're able to wait a second. We're able to just do this real quick, bang, we'll do that. So I can understand how you would be a fan of Howie, because your team is really good at doing stuff. TJ, don't be bitter because we win. There's a reason to be honest with you. Also, if something is legal and we do have a lawyer coming in studio for much of the second hour in Amy Trask and we can ask about the legality of this if you like TJ from your bitter perspective. I'm impressed. I'm impressed. You're able to progress that we're smarter than you are. And look, how we check the rule book, everything's legal. It's a push not a pull, right? To push not a pull. Pulling it legal, pushing totally fine. You know, the Tom Brady was maybe the greatest quarterback sneaker of all time. I think Jay one hurts is gonna give him a run for his money as long as they don't ban this because they don't like it. And the truth is, is that that was the best of his mobility, Tom Brady. I mean, there were times that he really fell forward beautifully. And I'm not gonna lie that it was legal. It is legal, and I have a problem with changing it. And I know that the rules committee is waiting to hear my thoughts on this. So let me just talk to you directly because rich can't get a state at your committee. Hey, listen, guys. I think it's fine. I think it's okay. I think you should leave it be. And you're welcome. See what I did there? Is that tech rule was back then with no one knew it existed. It was. You mean the forward pass. Hey, listen, TJ so fish, you should pour for the rest of us. 'cause she comes out here. CBS sports football aficionado and we're excited to have you here for much of the second hour. The princes of narcs will join us here on Roku channel and on a radio and podcast networks across the country. And we'll talk much more about the combine because that's why I'm here, people, right? I'm not here just to fill the seat, although many people think that I do poison my husband to come in to get some air time. And they think that because you actually said it, you said that. Was that me? Lots of rich guys and show when we finished up this first hour much more in the two hours coming back. We'll be right back with. Yeah, and I like how he because he puts himself out there. That's what I like. I like about him. I mean, he's very much a 21st century GM. And by the way, like so what if he's like flirting with legality? It's legal. It's either legal or it's not legal, correct, Chris. I want you to remember that when one of your kids comes home a little bit late from curfew or does something. And I want you to remember what you just said now. No, no. Our whole rule in our House, you know, we keep all of the electronics in a lock box. We found this out yesterday. And that's how rich is beating your son and fantasy 'cause he's not allowing him. Oh, you guys. It was still the one last night. So there's Cooper watching the Timberwolves game with me. And Timberwolves. Sorry, sorry, TJ. Twisted. And rich, I FaceTime rich so we could say goodnight to the kids. What does he do? He shows Cooper, his fantasy. 7 to four, 7 to four back and forth. Cooper's like, duh. I don't get any time. Which is wrong. Which is showing him like, shoving it down his throat. Kids 12. I think it's possible that rich cares more about fantasy basketball than his own family. Oh, wow. That's a statement cut. Clip it. Clip it and use that. While you were at the game. Yeah. How often was he checking the scores on his phone? Every 5 seconds. When he wasn't, you know, putting down some snacks. We did have the dessert card. I'm just saying. Amy Trask, much of the second hour when we come back, Tom palace calling in. "Watching a very fresh faced rich on with Ed Reed as we were watching here on the Roku channel and I have to say, we talked about this before the show Taylor's always wanting him to shave Chris. A fresh face. I prefer the bearded rich. I'm not gonna lie. Is that okay? Yeah, it's totally fine. I mean, you know. Number two counts more than most. I do, but I mean, so do you guys, we should probably talk about this when rich isn't on hold waiting to join us here on the rich eisen show, but that's just how we roll here. We like to discuss rich and third person and also like he's not even in the room or on the rich eisen show hotline. So we can welcome rich back into his very own show hi rich. Hey, suze, guys, what's going on? How's Indy? I am standing inside the convention center hall in the media center. And the fact that there is a media center for a combine just blows me away is, as you know, I've been coming here quite a while. As soon as it was 18 years ago, that I first left our homes were combined to say goodbye for a week. This is 18 years now and when I first came here it was in the old RCA dome, which has now been destroyed to make the parking lot for Lucas oil and there may be a handful of members of the media and they were all kept outside of the one entrance into the combine and they would just try to pick people off to interview them. And then they started having people at podiums and there would be throughout the convention center. Now there's just one haul and I'm like looking and there's 8 podiums and prospects we're supposed to be at them. But they pulled all the prospects this morning on the news of jailing Carter. So all the podiums that would have been filled with defensive line prospects get to set to work out tomorrow are all empty. Until the top of the hour when coaches and general managers return to them. So what do you expect in what's going to happen now today, rich, that how does this alter everything you mentioned, obviously, the players no longer on the podiums today, but will this take over the entire narrative of the combine today? You know, I think tomorrow for sure, Sue is tomorrow is when the on field drills start when Daniel Jeremiah and I started talking for an insane amount of time together. And so tomorrow when the defensive linemen are working out, we'll still focus obviously it'll all drill down on the kids who are out there working out and on screen, but look, I mean, Daniel Jeremiah's number one player on his draft board is jailing Carter. There are a ton of other evaluators, not just on the media, but inside draft rooms. And inside draft meetings who have jail and Carter number one on their draft board. And that young man is no longer number one on their draft board. And he has left here, and I was told, as a matter of fact, that he was getting set to take the podium. He was ten minutes away from his media availability when word came down out of Georgia that he was about to be charged with reckless driving and the charges with which he was served. And that's when the league and everybody running the combat in the league doesn't run the combine, the scouting community does pull Jalen Carter and I don't know why they would pull the rest of the defensive prospects. I guess they didn't want the kids being asked the question about Joe and the one I'm going to say, but they just decided to just yank them all and so that's the conversation today is the guy whose number one on so many people's draft boards was ten minutes from being at a podium before he got told and he's no longer obviously at the combine. He's got serious charges facing him back in Georgia and should he clear those, then obviously there will be a conversation about where he's drafted in the NFL Draft should he clear those charges between now and I guess what is a 56 days from now the NFL trap? We were talking just Charles Davis and I were just talking a few minutes ago. He was talking about Lyle Collins who, you know, TJ knows very well. He's a former cowboy now with the Bengals. He was falsely accused of a crime at the combine years ago. While he was here, it didn't work out, and then it didn't get drafted, then wound up signing with Dallas having a terrific career. To this date. So I don't know is the operative three words for Jalen Carter that will be a serious conversation tomorrow, one with a defensive lineman or out there and then obviously when the defensive lineman are done, we'll all turn our attention to it, but for the moment, the guy who's number one on so many people's draft boards is facing jail time and isn't here anymore. Let's move on to some other news from the draft and for sorry from the combine and from football all around rich and that is Aaron Rodgers breaking his silence after his days of darkness. He says that he is back into the light. We've got a sound bite to run for you and love to hear your thoughts on the other side of it. All right.

"But yeah, I think we're all kind of reside to the fact that if brawny, if anyone gets drafted, his dad is going to try to join them. And how would you feel about that? You finally get your you probably get your freedom, right? You lived under someone else's rule for 18 years and you feel good. And you get to go out and do your own thing. And now you got your pops watching over you kind of telling you what to do again. This brawny what that? I think it would be super cool. Obviously, it would be dope. It would be so good. Definitely. Yeah. Yeah, it back to back home runs once. So we're good on that. Are they going to win as Dallas coulda would have play F series? The Mavericks are a team to me that I could see getting swept in the first round or taking it to 7 games in the Western Conference Finals. I just don't know what to think about this. But we all expect Sacramento to fall off, right? Yeah, they're not. I don't know. And so the clippers and sons we expect to move up. And then Dallas, maybe so Sacramento goes down at number 6. Something like that? Well, Sacramento might not fall in the regular season, but to me there are one in there they won't win a series in the playoffs. So let's say let's say the west just holds how it is, right? So let's look at that. Pelicans are 7. 8 warriors 9 thunder ten. Let's just say all of this holds. Okay? So pelicans take out thunder. So it's just one through 8. So Denver beats Minnesota. Grizzlies beat pelicans, and if you get Sacramento versus Dallas, you like Dallas and 7. Dallas and 7 there? You have to go Dallas. They have the two best players. And then clippers Phoenix, what an awesome first round series. Man, I don't want that to last something's got to give there, man. You got to move on. I'm saying the west is going to be awesome. Where's the east? It's kind of a three team race. Yeah. It's way less. Way less drama. It's just like, let's get to the finals and it's either going to be one of three teams. That's going to be one of three teams who advances. And by the way, you can make a really strong case for all three teams. To win the title, I mean, whoever comes out of the east you can make a case is going to win the championship. Yeah, there's a three strongest teams in my opinion outside of Phoenix, which we don't know what is exactly going to look like. The Phoenix right now is all hype and speculation just because like I Kevin Durant, we know what he is. Let's just throw them in there. But let's be honest with ourselves though, based upon what they've done the previous three, four seasons. They've blown it. They've blown it, but they never had Kevin Durant. But guess what? You're up to in the finals. They're not going to open the ramp. They're not losing. This is bad boy. He was a bad boy. It will be interesting to see how Devin Booker plays because he's been out for a long time. But yeah and when he's back, he's always been the guy, the scorer on the team. He's the number one option. So now he's going to have to defer to Kevin Durant's and be the number two guy, so it might take him a little bit to adjust to not being the guy. Well, if I could give Devin Booker just one piece of advice would be this. Your ego in this case is not your amigo. Bro check your ego, you're still going to get yours. You're still going to get yours, but you got Kevin Durant. I mean, you know who he is? Who he is? Oh, come on. You know? It's going to be fun. I would hate for the clippers to face them in round one. I don't want that. I don't want any point. That happens. We got to go to one of those games. Oh, that's mandatory. That's mandatory. All right, so you like Milwaukee, you're like the field. I'm taking the field. But are you going to pick a specific team in the field? Well, that wasn't part of the equation. But I'm changing the window. One team out of the field? I'm still going to take Boston, obviously. I'm going to give me the sixers. You gonna do it? I am with you on MB for MVP though. And I also think, look, if Philly somehow overtakes Milwaukee in Boston, it's number one in the east. I think we'll win MVP. I think they're going to reward him. I would observe that. He's been awesome. He's been awesome in the last few years. He has been, you know? You know, he's done the thing that we've been talking about too is he's taken to his it's kind of like Tatum. He has improved when you didn't think he could improve. He's not shooting as many bad three pointers. He talked about. And in games where you want him to take over, he has taken over. The game you just mentioned a couple of weeks ago against Denver, this is my statement game, and he throws a 40 piece. On Joker, and it's like, that's the thing as a fan, even though I'm not a sixers fan, but as a basketball fan, you want to see these guys make that improvement and take those leaps and reach their full potential and embiid is getting there. And it's really awesome to see. And Hardin's having a great year also. Super quiet. We're not even talking about him. And I mean, if you want to make the point that harden is maybe the third best player on the team after Maxie, then I tell you what, if you're a tell me, James Harden is my third best player, then I really like my team's chances. I'm just saying, specifically, this is my team, but anyone's team we're going to tell me James Harden is your third best player. Man, you got to lead in the league and assist us here. He is. 11 the game. 10.8. Wow. Sneaky good season. Sneaky good season. You're just not really here. Yeah, because you mentioned some of the about him the other day. And I was like, well, man, you're not really paying attention. Attention. Is I haven't been watching 21 and 11 on the season right now. So that's really nice. He's kind of sacrificed ego and his dad, you know, for the good of the team. And it's kind of what the trade was happening last year that we had talked about. Like, is it enough time to gel? We had the rest of last season. Off season. And remember we saw him in the off season how he was before it was like he wasn't working out this off season. He was putting in work, man. You look great. And the birthday party video that went viral when he threw the cake out of the boat. That was unnecessary, because there are other people there to kind of enjoy that case.

"Also, I'm saying Memphis and they have a good team. But then you also have another Hall of Famer who's desperate for a championship who will do whatever it takes and Chris Paul. This is a make or break. It feels like for Phoenix. Maybe they have one more year after this with Durant's in terms of Chris Paul getting older. This really, they have to seize their opportunity right now and like you said, TJ, there's not a lot of time for them to gel, but they need to figure it out quick because this is, this could be it for them. Can the clippers make a run TJ big move of the week, they get Russell Westbrook. Who was traded in Utah on the three teamer, but obviously bought out. He stays in LA, but switches locker rooms to the clippers, is that enough? You feel good as a four seed right now? Yeah, right now the clippers are probably 11 players deep. Real deep. Now obviously it's awesome the last month. Yeah. Now come postseason obviously that rotation is going to get. Titans. Tighten down to probably like 8 guys. So, but when you look at it, they got a good backup big man and plumlee. Who's been playing really nice. We've been playing really well. I liked the bones island edition, but now you got rust, right? Look at Russ. And this is kind of causing a lot of people to kind of question what's going on. But you pointed this out about two months ago, Chris, Russ is a 6th man coming off the bench, was playing pretty well for the latest. I was kind of shocked the way there was just gave up on him. So yeah, so when you talk about these average and what 1516, 6 assists, 7. It was like 16, 16, 16. Playing really well with the second unit. So here's having some arguments with ham though. That could have been it. So I don't know. It's going to come in and start. Is he going to be on the second team? I don't know any of these answers yet, but I'm going to be very interested to see what happens. But you know one thing the clippers don't have amidst all of that talent is they don't really have like a fiery figure in that locker room like Kawhi of course you know he's a leader, but he's not going to be a vocal leader. I'm not sure where Paul is when it comes to being a vocal leader, but you know Russ is going to come in there and since we're on our podcast and not real quick, I can finally swear. You know, Russ is going to get in someone's ass. You know? And so pause. So I kind of feel like, you know, this could be a good thing. Paul George statistically had his best season playing with Russell Westbrook. So we're going to see, we're going to see if Russ, if this reignites for us, if he placed the his strength, because the rest is going to sell and try to shoot a bunch of three pointers. Guys, this isn't going to work. If Russ is going to just break cats down and get to the rim. And then go to the file line. If he's going to get to the hole and then dish out to some shooters, this could work. Clipper fans right now, I think, are about 60, 40 in favor. There's a lot who are down on this move. I'm willing to give it a chance. I want to see, I think the benefits are going to outweigh the what you thought John wall was going to do with the second unit. True, true. And it just didn't work out for one reason or another. And then for John wall to end up back in Houston, how weird was that? Oh, a lot of teams had the homecomings. The angel Russell's backwards. It was back. Eric Gordon. And there's another guy we miss. You know, you got a seasoned vet, a guy who was an original clipper. Unfortunately, we had to get rid of when we brought Chris paulin and now he came back home so he got a veterinarian Gordon, who's a sniper who loses and Luke canard. I wasn't happy with, but then we got Gordon. It was like, okay, now we got this guy. Ty lue has a very important job, man. He's going to have to, you know, I always love to say chemistry wise and he's going to have an interesting time kind of molding this team together and finding that right chemistry, but I think he can do it. And I think the players are there too. I like the clippers versatility. They have a bunch of guys that are between like 6 5 and 6 ten that can play who can shoot. And can defend really well. The key to this team is that there's not really a pure point guard with the team. Russell Westbrook obviously is a Hall of Fame. He's not really a pure pointer. But when it comes down to a Kawhi is going to have the ball in his hand and I'm perfectly impulse. It's not like Chris Paul. The prototypical point. You're right. I had him and we don't have that PG, but I'm fully confident if Kawhi Leonard has the ball in his hands. All right, so sorry to interrupt, but I was thinking, I really like the signing of plumley though. In terms of a backup for zoo box, these Dubai can get tired. I really like zoo box play, but plumlee can provide really good defense and just a solid backup center for him deep into the playoffs. Yeah, and that way we keep him on Morse from having to play center because he can still play the four. Morris doesn't get a lot of credit man because he's a big man who can shoot and can stretch the floor. And we haven't even talked about Dallas guys. Kyrie Irving. He's out. He goes to Dallas, it's been crazy. What is going on with the Mavericks? Do you believe in them? Do you believe this is going to work? I just Kyrie and Luca. I believe it can work to a degree. I don't believe that this is a championship squad. But can I give you guys a, just a thought? Yep. Okay. I mean, we're literally on a podcast. LeBron James. How much time does he have left with the Lakers? Contractually. I think next year is his final year, right? Okay. LeBron loves Kyrie. He does. And LeBron loves Luca. Wants to play with his son. There's no chance of those two coming to LA. What if LeBron decides to go join that with Mark Cuban in a year? And go join Dallas so he can play with those two guys. Because he's not locked in LA as we know, he can seemingly go where he wants for the next two years until brawny gets to the league. I was thinking more of the opposite where they had figured out how to get Kyrie to the Lakers next year because he's a free agent. That's too easy, Adam. That's the easy thing to say. Let's get LeBron over the Dallas. Luca and Kyrie all in Dallas? I'm just saying. There's something I was thinking about during the picking of the all star rosters and knowing how LeBron LeBron tried to sign Luca to his shoes. As much as LeBron wants to win another championship, if his son brawny is about to be drafted, he is going to go wherever brawny goes. Yeah, but I'm saying he's not going to sign a long-term deal. You're going to get LeBron and maybe a one or two year deal right now. He's just going to by the time Brian gets drafted with brunt will be 40. So it's just going to be one year spots. I mean, ESPN had brought number ten today to Orlando. Yeah, in the 2020 course. But then you think about what Orlando could look like then you're like, oh, LeBron? Paulo? Wendell Carter? Rodney? Wagner, prince monger. Nice. Yeah, but if those guys turn out, then they're not going to get to tenth.

"It's like you can't be a starter. Maybe something that effect. I mean, no, I don't know if it's going to hurt eyeballs, but you just got done saying viewership was down anyway. And viewership is constantly inconsistently down on every and anything. So why not, man? Maybe you do find a way to kind of reward some of these guys who just need a chance to see the shot to go out there and show what they can do because a month, two months ago, we never heard of Kim Thomas. We didn't know anything about this now. Absolutely not. And now we know that this is a guy who's capable of probably being obviously he's not capable of scoring 40 every night, even though he did for a stretch. The guy was capable of probably putting up 20 a game, you know, 18, 19, 20 if he were just given a chance if he was given some minutes. I don't know if that's the answer or not. All right, the last thing too on this. I heard amino Hassan say this on le batard yesterday. He said, do you think the reason maybe some of the guys weren't going all out is they were kind of silently protesting for having to go to Utah. No. If you look at some of the All-Star Game venues, the last couple of years. Cleveland, Utah, they're going to Indiana next year, Charlotte. And then you look, we just come off a Super Bowl run of Miami, Phoenix, going to Vegas next year, New Orleans. That's an interesting NFL does it right. They go to these big, warm party cities. NBA all star weekend, the celebration of the NBA that year. Utah, Cleveland, Indiana. I mean, look, these are NBA cities, and you have to I would think that that couldn't or shouldn't have been a silent protest because look, there's only so many LA's Miami New York Chicago. So just those four cities. I'm just saying, just have the rotation in, you know, the fun cities for the if it's a celebration of your sport for that season, right? Because they don't do a big event location like the Super Bowl. Obviously go the final cities back and forth, right? Yeah. And it's not like a blowout week, like Super Bowl is because it rolls one game. Obviously the NBA Finals could be 7 games. The NBA owners will never allow that to happen though, because they make so much money. You gotta think about the money, Adam's right, the money that the city gets, that brings it. And what do you think there's anything you can do about that? Because Utah probably needed that, I don't know how I'm just saying. It didn't hurt that influx of money that came in. I would just say that you talk, there's a bunch of weekend is called the black Super Bowl. It is. Look, I didn't want to say this. Sometimes I allow you to save faces. Because people will be like, of course, he said that. So you say some say this. There's probably a bunch of brothers who had never been to Sundance, right? So didn't know what was waiting for them in Utah. The code, the fact that you get to the club is to dry state, and if they do have liquor, what they do is now I haven't been to Sundance in probably ten years. So what I was hearing. They put bottles in cages, bro yes. Literally, they make sure your ID. Every single drink you get. Well, we didn't have to do that. They could double what you do with Salt Lake City hats. It has hot white women. I know. This is true plastic place. But the fact is, you're in the club, you've got a bottle, it's in a cage and you've got to get to server to come over unlock the you can't. You can't pour yourself. So you just spent like three G's on a bottle of Remy or something, probably Remy's probably more than three G and you can't access it yourself because it's in a cage. Like literally there's a cage. Do it for you. Let's call it. 1 o'clock. 1 o'clock, what NBA player you know goes to bed at 1 o'clock? So none of them probably. Zero. So look, I mean, Utah. Silent protest. I'm having to be in Utah for four days. Well, I mean, look, I don't know. I don't know. That's interesting. It really is. I'm just starting out there. I love you. Go the way the NFL, just fun cities. Just 5 city tour. That's it. Miami Atlanta, New York. LA, Chicago. It all is southern fun studies. That's it. Houston, Houston would be great. Use the Houston. Houston was the place. I caught a case. Houston, Miami, Vegas, or whatever it's called. Anyway, that's the run I'm telling you. All right. I mean, I don't think that's going to change anything. I don't think John morant would have went well, had the All-Star Game been in hot land. I would have dunked, but now it's in Utah, I won't. If it's in Atlanta, you put the wings on the top of the backboard and the dude jumps up, grabs a wing, eats it while he dunks. Oh, here's a dunk I just came up with. You put a check for $500,000 in an envelope. And if someone can grant you. Have you ever, you raise the revenue 11 feet and you put the check right next here and whoever can go up and dunk and grab the check. It's the 500 grit. Think about that. Now guess what? Now I might jump. Now everyone's touched by them. They're turning people away now. Because now it gives you something like and I know I said before a million wasn't enough incentive. But this is something a little different. All right, let me just go out here and show improve one time real quick. Go here and snatch this envelope. All the way above the rim. That was pretty impressive. Even though it's dunks were really stupid. As someone who's never touched the ribbon in his life. But you know, but then they also had the skills contest, and I watched that. And that was interesting. But Giannis brothers also, you know what I noticed in the skill competition? I remember in the past, they would have to do the chess pass, right? And the circle would be. It was so big. It was like, those kids throwing the bath, the footballs through with the Dr Pepper thing at the national championship. That was my one thing I was going to say. Make it smaller, bro like Ray Charles could have thrown the ball through. That place. Come on. They could definitely make it a little more challenging. There is something there. You're dribbling through just a stanchion. Like what if you put a player there? And now he's trying to run it. Now you got to like, now you've got to do there. He's trying to rip the ball from you. Get by, like, Jordan Clarkson literally went in slow motion. He just wasn't. He wasn't trying to pull. You could have like a celebrity or somebody like that, that's trying to have Kevin Hart there. Now you have it hard trying to steal the ball. Try to steal the ball from you. But you're right. The hole was huge. Make it a little bit tougher precision pass to get through. But they used to have to do that. You'd have to do a bounce pass at a trespass. And it was like, you know, maybe two feet wide. So yeah, so there's ways that they're on something there. The three point shootout that was dame, you know, and that was great to see. It was nice. Him come out. I mean, what are you going to do, man? These guys. And that concludes the coverage. Here on the rich eyes and show basketball podcast. I wish we had more for you. All right, we're entering the home stretch. Like I said, Denver and Boston are your one seeds right now. Just a game apart, Boston 42 and 17. There are half came up in Milwaukee, 41 and 17 Denver 41 and 18 year three teams with 40 plus wins. How about this? If I give you one of those three teams or the field to win the title, who do you take? So you said Denver? I'll give you the three best teams in the league right now. Boss. Our Boston Milwaukee and Denver. If I give you those three or the field, who do you take to win the title right now on February 21st? I'm taking one of those teams. I'm not going with the field. Right now, Milwaukee has won 12 straight games. They are on fire. Fire. They're on fire they're looking great. They're

"What's up, everybody? We're back. It's rich eisen show basketball podcast. The squad, we're back from Super Bowl, we're back from NBA all star break. We didn't go, but we're just back in general. I watch. And what did we watch? So let's just talk about that right at the top. There is a lot to get to because there's so much going on in the association, games and the quote unquote second half of the year. I think there's about what LeBron said there's 23 games left for the Lakers. So it seems like teams are in that 2022 24 game left in the regular season gets back underway Thursday and Friday, teams are back in action. So a full slate over the weekend. Let's just talk about NBA All-Star Game and all star weekend. It was in Salt Lake City. And it really wasn't that great. Magma clung came out from the G league. We all remember him from YouTube back in the day. Bounced around Texas tech, Georgetown. Former Hoya. He's been in the G league and won the slam dunk contest and it was awesome. I think we all kind of expected him to win, right? And he kind of put on a show and that was kind of the story of the weekend. Tatum had 55 in the game itself, but there was very little defense played. Guys were just kind of going through the motions. And team Yanis kind of ran away with it. What did you guys think of all star weekend, just general first impressions, Adam? First of all, that's Adam, that's Chris and I'm TJ, because we skip we skip that today. Oh, I just went right into it. You know what I did what rich debt? Sometimes I just jump in. TJ Adam brockman were here. We're back. You know us. It's the rich eisen show basketball podcast. All star weekend. Go, was it as bad as I'm making it out to be TJ? No. Because here's the deal, right? It's an exhibition. We all know that. And people constantly pine for the days of old. But guess what, man? Nothing. Everything changes. And nothing is going to be as it once used to be. You know, I keep seeing people like, oh, they play defense and Michael Jordan would have done this and that, but we're not at those times anymore. So we can sit and constantly complain about how you don't like things the way they are. That you don't like that we're in the Instagram age, or you could just kind of accept the fact that this is where we're at right now. I can remember being a kid and my grandpa yelling at me about the length of my pants or the music that I listened to. And I was just like, come on, man. That's where we're at now. And I think now we just have to accept, this is where we're at. The stars don't want to play doing the play. They also game. They want to get into dunk contest for a variety of reasons. None of which I understand. I don't get it. But guys that want to play they don't want to be shown up. They don't want to be embarrassed. They don't feel it's worth their time. I don't understand it. But that's just where we are now. As far as the game went, look, man, it was a bunch of guys pulling up from 35, which was kind of exciting to see the fact that so many people can shoot from so deep. Nobody was playing defense, obviously, until I guessed the fourth quarter when you can kind of win the game. It is what it is. And if you're upset and you don't like it, then I guess find something else to tune in and watch. And I'll start. Because when you look at it, though, stars still show up, the party still happened. Everyone there seems to be enjoying themselves and having a good time. And that's pretty much it. Yeah, Adam, the ratings were what like a third or atrocious. Down 30% from the year before and it seems like people weren't really tuning in, but was all star Saturday, kind of the high mark of the weekend. I guess. Yeah, I guess. I mean, to be real, this is my suggestion to the NBA. The dunk contest has gotten to the point where back in the day we watched the dunk contest for the stars. You know, you had Dominique Wilkins, you had Kobe. Michael Jordan. And that doesn't happen anymore. These guys are role players are barely in the league. Mac mcclung just got signed to a two way contract and all of a sudden he made more money from winning the dollar. I saw that. Then he's made in his entire program. I saw that he made a hundred K for winning the dunk on. That's awesome. It's great. I'm happy for him. I've been following students high school. I've seen all the highlights. But to me, this is what you do. If I'm Adam silver, this is what I do. You have the done contest, but it doesn't necessarily have to have all NBA players. There are dunkers that you can see on Instagram on an everyday basis that are better dunkers than these guys in the NBA now. And you could say, well, it's an NBA donkey, as well. There's a celeb game also. It's not all NBA people that are involved in the all star weekend. So I see some of these guys on Instagram and they're going to be hungry to get that spotlight. They're going to be hungry to get that money. So I think you can mix it up. Maybe do half NBA players have amateur guys that are just pro dunkers. And I think that could really elevate the interest in the dunk contest because some of these guys, like I've said, are absolutely incredible. As far as the NBA All-Star Game itself, the suggestion

Cowboys Defensive End DeMarcus Lawrence Will Miss 6-8 Weeks With Broken Foot

"Going on with the cowboys. Upfront what can you tell me about. Tank lawrence randy gregory. Big game for the cowboys here in los angeles against the chargers. What do you know about that. Yeah so i. I think like the you know demarcus lawrence obviously. That's a really unfortunate break for them. And he's had injuries in the past. And i i don't know if i'd relates that because there's a foot thing and it's sort of a free thing but he's going to be gone for two months and that like to me. I just sort of looking at how patchwork they've been and they'll get gregory back but like like you know with randy gregory and then over the years taking swings on different guys like alden smith and and and and You know and and if you want to go further back hardy And how they've just sort of continuous roll the dice try and get those positions right And lawrence was the one that they really hit on and now he's out for two months and you know. I think the cowboys defensively did a lot of things well in the opener but the fact is such a big part of the way that defense worked and i worked and i think dan coins a fantastic defensive coordinator but a big part of how the defense works seattle type of defense works is. Can you get heat on the pass or can you come from multiple angles quarterback and lawrence is one of those guys when he's at his best. He changes the math for everybody else. He's gonna change the matchups. He's going to get more guys singled up or guys are going to be favourable spa favorable spot because of him. So now you take them out of the equation and i think it's a big big loss for the cowboys.

Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid Denies 'Rift' Exists With Ben Simmons

"On 'em bead fact here. He got upset because there was a story out in the twitter verse today from i guess at the nba central that the reason why simmons is leaving is because there is such a terrible rift between him and embiid that the sixers reportedly pick between the two. We all know mb got the big fat contract. And now simmons is being shown the door and usa. Today is reporting that that's part of the reason and he was very upset about that re tweeted out about how he loves playing with ben stats. Don't lie he's an amazing player. We all didn't get the job done. It's on me personally. I hope everyone is back because we know we're good enough to win. And then i guess. Embiid kept stewing on a little bit and then Tweet out i haven't forgotten but two years ago. I got booed people in philly wanted me to be traded. I even shush them. Only the real ones didn't. But i just put the work in that season to be better because i knew i wasn't playing up to my potential which is okay then comes the last line philly fans y'all got to be better to.

"You see this thread. That ralph fach. Yano had about giants practice today. Greg what is going on over there and like joe. J- judge it's makes these guys run sprints like he's her brooks like. I've never seen anything like it. I am amazed by that. He made them run sprints after an all out on the field and not just a fight. 'cause you know those. Those happened almost all training camps. Some some coaches have it pretty locked down where you really are aren't allowed to do it But that happens but this one supposedly had like twenty people in it and daniel jones. Your quarterback is is at the bottom and then yeah you're punishing them by by running around the field like it's a fine line where whether you're gonna keep your players Engaged with that kind of attitude this joke judge and it looks like a team you know when when that does happen that he doesn't have a so go to the amount of control and that's what he's looking for.

"Okay. So saw this quote really interesting. Corey davis being the titans. Free agent wide receiver of course goes to the jets. He said yesterday that he signed with the jets with the understanding. That sam darnold is gonna their team starting quarterback and twenty twenty one. Obviously i'm coming in with the understanding. That sam's the guy he said that doesn't scare me away at all. I've seen sam do great things. And i have all the belief in him thoughts that surprise. You doesn't really surprise me at all. I would think that i would think new coach. You come in. You got number two pick. Let's just roll the dice with one of these new but of course they're going to say. Hey the plan is for sam to be the guy right. Things could change. Yeah we could end up drafting somebody but we're not going to trade him. That's probably what he was told. Like sam's gonna be the guy down the road that could change. But i would anticipate that and if you're you know you're corey davis and if you're the vast majority of these free agents there's very few guys listen you have a limited shelf life in the nfl. You're going to the team. That's going to pay you the most money and you think that if corey davis was told that sam darnold not going to be the guy he he wouldn't have gone to the jets if they're offering the money. How Rich Eisen 'Met the Moment' in His First SportsCenter Broadcast

"My first sportscenter was in the middle of march of nineteen ninety-six. It was a saturday. Seven o'clock eastern sportscenter which they don't have that time slot anymore but at any rate it was right there early evening on a saturday during march madness. I think it was the first weekend. I had to have been the round of thirty. Two of the nineteen ninety-six march madness tournament. Larry beal was the other anchor. And i remember be nervous very nervous and i try to stay loose just like matthew dry. St louis need to stay loose. And i tried to prepare for it but the problem was is the games that i would be doing. The highlights of on this show were all happening. They're all happening all going down. I mean it's march madness. You know that you know games are nonstop the tipping off fifteen minutes field like and it feels like whenever you're watching it. That's what makes it so great. And i remember thinking to myself. How am i going to prepare for this. How can i stay loose. What am i going to do. And it was time to go down to the studio for my first ever sportscenter. And i had about twelve games of highlights in the show and add only the paperwork they give you a shot sheet to read off of in notes form knowing what shots are going to appear on the screen so you knew the information of who had the ball and what the score was and how much time is left on the clock and what have and so on and so forth so i had the paperwork and it only seen the highlight of one of the twelve that i had in the show. In other words. I would have to ad-lib eleven of the twelve highlights. I had in the show sight unseen like. Normally you would get this highlight. You'd look at it. you'd watch it. You'd go over it so you know what you might say when you say it on the aaron live tv and i remember thinking to myself walking down to the said i had two choices. That's i boil it down to two choices. Try to make it very easy for me to remain calm. And i remember thinking to myself to choices one was to suck it up and know that this was my dream moment and i had been betting on myself my entire life that i was waiting for this moment and it finally arrived albeit. Not what the attention to detail. That would have calmed my nerves or the preparation. That i wanted or ever envisioned. I would not have going down to the studio. That was choice. A choice b was to be down my leg. And i thought to myself. You know. that's choice it's Definitely not choice. Let's choose. And i don't know how the show went. I went well. I mean you know. I wasn't fired on the spot I was bouncing off the walls. But i just remember thinking to myself. I got two choices. One is to go with the flow. Go at the moment. Believe in yourself know that this moment that you've been waiting for your entire life has arrived and meet it. Meet the moment and the other choices to panic which might feel good at the time but never would work out in a million years.

"Man. I've calibrated recalibrated thousands of times. I've had grand plans. That i thought would lead pipe cinch. There ain't no way this go wrong. And either imploded or the world exploded and for me and i sat there going. Oh jeez i've also had written many headlines. I before i had any idea housing to get there and lived the story to and had successes that way. I've also had many times where. I just hardest part about me going into what i was going to do. Is just to tie and shoes. Get out the damn door. Jump off the cliff. Figure out a fly on the way down. Seems like that's sort of the art of life making plans and then knowing that change is gonna come anyway. The unknown in doubts of just knowing the answer. That's something that i think that we all have. We want to know the answer. Can you make tangible. Can you tell me what. I'm going to take this risk. Can you tell me. I wanna see my reward can okay. Now i see it clearly now know well reward. Don't really like that. Even if we have an idea of what they are. We're going into something. They aren't what we thought they were when we get there anyway so i think the doubt is in what is it. What is an accomplishment. Gonna be there's even unknowns when we're very secure about where we're going and that's not all the time so you can have more doubts if you're only seeking a result or less dashiell lean into the comfort of doubting going. Hey i'm not about the result. I'm going to enjoy the process of doing what i need to do. And how. I look up one day.
