Trump Attacks GOP Candidate

"So okay, South Carolina, Democrats have moved their primary up. To February 3rd, that means as of today, we are looking at the New Hampshire primary being the Tuesday, January the 23rd, all right? It's going to be called a New Hampshire. I'll be up there in the north country. I'm going to miss it. Got studio north established last year. So I can cover this year completely every day, driving down New Hampshire if I have to. Try to pass the liquor store outlets. Doctor governor said you knew about that last week because somebody's got to tell you about these rules. Somebody's got to tell you about these candidates. And somebody's got to follow what they do over the weekend, the former president was on the war room with his former aide Steve Bannon cut number one, taken out after governor desantis again. Donald Trump was Steve Bannon. Total assault. Because we're winning in the polls. If I wasn't the most there was 62 16. Well, the sanctus is failing Bentley. Rhonda saint ammonias. I mean, you know, it's always bad. You endorse somebody who's dead. He's the over his political career. He's going to be looking for a job. He'll be lucky to get a job. Comes to me begs me for an endorsement to give it to him. He ends up winning the election. Winning the nomination winning the election, by numbers that you wouldn't believe. I mean, he was so far down. He was gone. And then they shouted to him a couple of years later. Where do you run against the president? I have no comment. No comment means the answer is yes, right? But today I'm very interesting thing happened. He said he's going to form a committee. He's going to form moratorium. Exploratory committee to determine, well, that's the except because he was never looking at committees. Now he's looking at committees. It's amazing what being 40 down does. But this is the consultants and donors and back out. This is a guy who's going to make 30 donors are largely leaving him now, you know? I think in fact, I will tell you off the record. Off the record except for the millions of people that watch your show because you show us you show great. I mean, show us the war room it is. This guy's a warrior. It's whether they like him or not. It doesn't make any difference. But he is a warrior. There aren't too many. But what's happening is the donors are calling me right now because the donors follow the pulse and when they see a guy getting clobbered. Think of it. He was a lousy politician because before he met me before I gave him the endorsement. So he was at three.

Donald Trump Soars Past All Others in a Brand New WSJ Poll

"Story today, Donald Trump, way ahead in this poll. Just take him by The Wall Street Journal. It's showing that he's got a pretty solid lead over Ron DeSantis 51% to 38% among most likely Republican primary voters. This is a hypothetical head to head matchup. Don't forget Nikki Haley in there. You've got Mike Pence. He's not doing so well. And Ron DeSantis, of course, has an even announced that he's running. Things are looking a little tougher though. And it may be because Sonny Florida isn't so sunny right now in part because of this whole Mickey saga. Mickey's a little bit stronger than you might have thought. I mean, you know the whole drill. Disney, Rhonda santurce, they're in this kind of boxing match here because Ron DeSantis and Disney don't see eye to eye on the quote unquote don't say gay policy, which basically means that you shouldn't be talking about sexuality really at all to little kids, right?

We Have to Give Props to Vivek Ramaswamy

"The Vic, Rama Swami. I have to give him some props. I made a video earlier today on my YouTube channel. Where I showed an interview between him and Don lemon and I have to say this, he is incredibly impressive to me and I said this on my video and I know I'm gonna get a lot of pushback for it, but I said, hey, if Donald Trump wasn't such a celebrity in rockstar and he had already had a little evidence of him doing well for the country, I would say a little evidence, maybe a lot of evidence of him doing well for the country. I think Vivek, Rama Swami would be a great candidate for president. And I even put Vivek over Rhonda Sanchez. After all of the interviews that I listened to, Vivek, Vivek. After I listened to the things that he said after I've seen him in interviews after I see how articulate he is and I see his accomplishments as a businessman and I'm already biased towards businessmen lead in a business which I think America is a business. You have to be able to have strong communication skills, you have to be bold, you have to be courageous, you have to take chances, you have to be able to balance a budget. You have to have all of these resources in your knowledge bank in order to do well for this country and I honestly believe somebody like him can do well. I wish I had the clip, but I'll have to send a clip over to the team. I forgot to send it where he literally schools Don lemon as Don lemon tries to race bait and tell him that the civil rights are Civil War had nothing to do with black folks. And also that black people don't experience the same rights as white people in this country.

Caller: Choosing Ron DeSantis Over Donald Trump

"I decided to stand with Ron DeSantis because Trump may not have done anything legally wrong, but he did something morally wrong when he involved himself with a porn star, stormy Daniels. Well, now Michelle, Trump says he didn't do anything with her, stormy Daniels says nothing happened. Michael Cohen said nothing happened. So I don't know who I mean, who would you believe at that point? I mean, all three people are saying nothing happened, and now stormy Daniels is changing her tune, and Michael Cohen has, but I mean, they're on record as saying nothing happened. Well, correct me if I'm wrong, is this a he said she said deal? Well, I think it's, I think it's a she said, he said, but now she said is refuting what she said. So again, you've got stormy Daniels, she got what a $130,000, and this was it was hush money. Go away. You're a nuisance and, you know, a lot of wealthy people. They do stuff like that. But Michelle, I mean, the bottom line here is Trump says he did nothing wrong. And maybe the trial will prove that. All right, Michelle. Yeah, you've got ten seconds. "Did to the scientists who still hasn't declared that he's running with calling him Ron to sink pneumonias and Rhonda sanctimony. Tiny D I'm sorry. They called him tiny D two. I can't even tell you. What I think. And I voted for Trump twice. And after he put out Trump put out that pedophile thing and Ron DeSantis, I lost all faith in Trump. I'll never vote for him again. And so in that vein, I don't think Trump deserves this, but it's the net vein. How can anybody blame Donald Trump or blame Ron DeSantis for not supporting Donald Trump after what Trump has done to the status? Trump is not messing around with people like Jeb Bush and Carly fiorina this time. He's got serious people. Potentially going to run against them. And I don't know if I understood you correct. Did you say something about you didn't notice why Ted Cruz wasn't supporting Donald Trump or did he come out and support Donald Trump? No, no, no. Back when this was back in 2016, I was giving an illustration here. That if I had been Ted Cruz, and if you remember, that was very ugly. And Trump went after his father, went after Cruz's father and the guy's wife, and at that point, and honestly, I think it would have made Trump or rather cruise a much stronger candidate down the road and I think he would have earned respect from Donald Trump for at least defending his wife's honor. I don't know, you know, I don't know about all that. You talk about the same stuff, and it will take a punch. At some point, you don't mess with a guy who's a pig. And this is coming from a person who voted for Trump twice, okay? I fly Betsy Ross flag. In my backyard, this after January 6th. It's not that I'm I'll vote Republican up and down the ticket. I'll never vote for Trump again because of the stuff that he's pulled with Cruz with the santas. I almost hate them. I agree

Donald Trump Attacks Ron DeSantis AGAIN

"Donald Trump is attacking desantis again. I just, it's nauseating to think that Donald Trump is attacking desantis. And guess what he's attacking him over? A pitcher allegedly of Ron DeSantis at a party when he was in his 20s teaching at a high school in these girls in their 18s. In the 18th year, so according to the article that I'm reading right here from the article is just the New York. Is it The New York Times daily mail? The daily mail, according to the article, supposedly Ron DeSantis had just, let me read this because I don't want to mess it up. It says Rhonda Sanchez, which he's 44 now. Talk history and government at the Darlington school in Rome, Georgia during the 2001, 2002 year. He was fresh out of Yale at the time in students described him as smart, smug, charismatic, and a joke. And go on to talk about how, you know, there's a picture of him and it looked like there's some girls in the picture. And he just hanging out. Donald Trump, grabbing him about a nucky. And you mad at just, let me just say this. I want to go back real quick. Why is Donald Trump even worried about Ron DeSantis right now? Well, I know why he's worried. But if he wasn't worried, according to probably his logic, then he shouldn't be saying things like this about the sentence. Let's say hypothetically that Ron DeSantis was at a party with underage girls. And I say underage, meaning that he's in his 20s and air under 20. 18. But where does it say that he did anything to any of these women? Where is a person coming out of saying that they were raped by Ron DeSantis? Or that he grabbed him in the place they didn't want to be grabbed in. And you got to go all the way back to some picture, I don't know how many years ago. And Donald Trump, like, bro you got divorces? You cheating on women? You on the camera, hot mic to my grabbing people by the nookie. Donald, just stop, bro

Mike Lindell or Harmeet Dhillon for RNC Chairperson?

"A concern that one of our listeners has emailed us that I think is important to navigate. Is there worried that you and harm meat are going to split the America first vote? Now I don't know how big of a deal that is because a vote not for Rana actually just lowers the threshold for Rana. Walk us through that, Mike. Actually, it's the opposite of what they're saying. It's very important that we both are in this race because when you get to when you get to California and when they vote on the 27th, you have to have 85 of the one 68. So, and I believe that there are people, as I've been talking to members and they're saying, I'm voting for you, Mike. They believe in me. Everything I've done and in harmony and it's getting the same thing and she's talking to them all and so let's just, between the two of us, we need to keep, if you keep ronna under 85 on the first vote, remember, this doesn't now you're just going to the next vote. The bottom person does not get taken off, Charlie. So the vote you just keep going votes imposed by believe back with reince priebus, it took 7 votes. Now, if harm I mean, if Iran is under 85, which I believe she's sitting now around 70 75, that's when I'm, you know, by my best estimations. And also I want to tell you one. There's no machines in this vote, everybody. And it is a, it is a secret vote. So people can say all they want, they're out there, you know, they might say just like they do with their president. You might have some going, I'm not going to vote for Mike lindell or you might have some say, I'm voting for Rhonda, but they're really not voting for Ron. "Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and Kevin McCarthy thing is still off the chain. Funny thing is Elon Musk tweeted support for Kevin McCarthy as speaker vote heads into the third day. I thought that was pretty interesting. That Elon Musk shows support for Kevin McCarthy. You know something that's interesting is that how many people, I mean, I think it's interesting that Elon Musk has been so vocal and his support for Republicans lately. I honestly believe that Elon Musk could actually cause Republicans to have a standing in which they normally don't have on social issues and on social platforms. And I think that that was pretty interesting that Elon Musk said that Elon Musk said he was support Rhonda santurce for president not Donald Trump. Not saying that his words are in all be all. But I think that's very interesting. Think about this for a minute. The richest man in the world are one of the richest men in America. They're not the richest man in the world. "If you plan on pursuing getting the votes of Americans, you are going to have to present a messaging which can be digestible for your party side, independence, and some Democrats. But if you come out the gate, fake news, fake news, fake news, you come out the gate, little sleepy, creepy, Rhonda santas with low energy, he accomplished nothing. I'm better than him, that that's not a winning strategy. You come out the game, Mitch McConnell, rhinos, that's not, it's not a winning strategy. You know, I really, I don't know what beef they have, Trump and Mitch McConnell. And I'm not saying it's somebody's fault or not. What I'm saying is that the mission is to come together, the mission is to unite, we don't have to agree with each other. But we need Mitch McConnell and Mitch McConnell needs the magga Republicans. We got to find a way to reach a common ground. If we can not reach a common ground, we will lose again and again and again and again. They probably hate each other. But they're going to push a deadbeat Democrat all the way to the finish line. Some will be pushing some of the dragon, some will be spectating. But they're going to get their candidate to the finish line 'cause they hate Republicans more than they love their own side.

Trump vs DeSantis: The Future of the GOP

"Are on the almost eve of this big chomp announcement. And I think it will happen. I think he wants to run. I think he can't even sort of imagine not running. I think that what we saw this past week doesn't necessarily bode well, but as I've said all along, look, candidates need to have some responsibilities for themselves. I don't know is that he's the guy that can just flip a switch and make anybody a star. I think that he had a certain kind of star quality on to himself that resonated with a whole lot of people, but whether or not that transfers to anyone that he handpicks remains questionable. And I think very much in doubt, after what we saw on Tuesday, Americans want candidates with experience and whether that comes from being in the world of business, whether that comes from being in the world of politics, whatever it is, what you saw happen in Florida suggests they want people that can offer some deliverables. And that's what Ron DeSantis did, right? He gave them all the deliverables in the world because that economy did so much better than any of those blue state economies that were not able to stay open during COVID that didn't get their kids back to school as soon as they should have. So as people close to the Trump inner circle are trying to debate, well, does he does he not run? I mean, I think he will, period. It becomes a question of who should be on the ticket with him. And maybe in this case, you bring Ron DeSantis into the fold. That's the thinking anyway, and so many are saying, look, there would have never been a Ron DeSantis without Donald Trump. And so can you pair the two of them together? I have doubts about that. I have doubts because one, I'm not sure Ron DeSantis is ready to play second fiddle. And by the way, the guy's young, right? He doesn't need to. It's not like he's running out of turns. He could sit this one out, and if Trump doesn't get the spot and Biden does or who knows who they're actually going to wind up going with, because I don't think they can pick Biden. But if somebody else on the Democrat ticket gets the spa, the Rhonda santurce is certainly in an advantageous position to say, look, you should have gone with me in four years from now. Ron DeSantis Suspends Prosecutor for Refusing to Enforce Florida Law

"Ron DeSantis, who is a potential 2024 presidential nominee on the Republican side of the aisle, all the polls show him within striking distance of Donald Trump at the moment and we still have a couple of years to go before the actual primaries begin. Ron DeSantis in Florida is demonstrating full scale. This particular idea, which is that if there are people who work for your branch and they refuse to actually abide by the laws that you are supposed to enforce, these people should be fired. So controversy has now broken out over the fact that governor desantis has suspended a state prosecutor Thursday for pledges he made to decline prosecuting cases involving violations related to abortion and gender transition treatment. Rhonda Santos said that he had suspended Andrew Warren, a Democrat who served as the top prosecutor for the state's 13th judicial circuit in hillsborough county, which includes Tampa for neglect of duty. The Republican governor then tapped state judge Susan Lopez to serve as state attorney during the suspension, the state has 20 state attorneys. Here's Ron DeSantis announcing his firing of Andrew Warren. The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not an individual state attorneys. And so when you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty. You have neglected your duty and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to reform those duties. And so today we are suspending state attorney Andrew Warren effective in media. So state attorney Andrew Warren put out a statement saying it's an illegal overreach that continues a dangerous pattern by Ron DeSantis of using his office to further his own political ambition. It spits in the face of the voters of hillsborough county, but twice elected me to serve them, not Ron DeSantis. The problem with that, of course, is that if you have a state attorney who simply refuses to prosecute crime, he is not doing his job.

Premise Data's New Poll Shows Trump Is Still Tops

"Maury blackman, CEO, premise data, host of the great minds think data podcast. Good morning, Maury. Good morning, Stephanie. Thank you for having me. Well, thank you for coming on because I have to say it is one of those things and I know probably you will tell us this is early as they say it's lifetimes away 2024, but it's still sort of astounding to a lot of us. So in this poll, when you say dead, he trumps at 53 Biden's at 47. Correct? In your poll? Well, statistically it's insignificant. So it's really 50 50. Right. Now, were you shocked or what did you think? To be honest, Stephanie, I was stunned. I mean, there was a couple things that really surprised me, but the fact that they were still in a dead heat, despite all of Trump's issues, and really despite all of Biden's issues, you would think that one would weigh heavier on the other. I think the key here that I found that I was so stunned by as it relates to the Republicans is the fact that in spite of all Trump's issues, he still crushing Mike Pence and Rhonda Santos in a theoretical matchup. It's like, what are these people thinking? It's just pretty stunning to me when I look at this result. I think the other part that's really quite interesting from a Republican point of view is that Biden and Trump are running even in my poll. The premise poll, but what we found is that in spite of the fact that Trump is beating Pence and descent is so badly, on the other hand, he's actually performing up those two candidates in a theoretical matchup or actually performing pretty well against Biden. They're slightly ahead of him. Statistically, it doesn't matter, but it just shows that, hey, if the Republicans would get their act together, put the right candidate up, they might be able to win in 24.

"Taught available, these were things that I had to find on my own. So for me, racism then showed up in those much more subtle ways of what was available. What I was able to learn, what I was able to study in what I wasn't. And by whom, you know, with him, what kinds of teachers. And what kinds of experience experiences did they bring? But with all of that said, you know, I can think of. And I want to say this explicitly. I nevertheless, the teachers, the white body teachers who were there, most of whom in my experience were at least making an effort, you know, to do what they came to do, which is to help identify and move through or support students with some potential in the conventional sense. And so I can certainly think of and have in my Pantheon of teachers that I really appreciate a lot of white teachers. Who were, I can think of a couple in particular who were very, very instrumental in terms of their manifestation of, let's say, some sort of a racial equity commitment, such that whatever they may have been raised with, because again, these were people who were disproportionately raised in the south and with racist ideology and teachings having formed them. Many of them, you know, nevertheless were some of my mentors and help identify opportunities for me and so on and so forth. So I think it's not and then when we go into university, it was, I would say I saw more explicit examples of racism impacting me. For example, just in my first year at the University of Virginia, lovely school. But having examples of things like instructors, not having a negative reaction to me wanting to write about, for example, I had a paper topic that I proposed comparing an analysis of segregation in the Southern United States with apartheid in South Africa. Today, I don't think people would think of that as like a shocking proposed experiment or intellectual inquiry. But the particular teacher that I had of teaching assistant that I had was just aghast, how could they even be considered even remotely similar? Again, a white bodied male teacher who was just coming from a perspective where something that was normalized in the U.S. as part of our culture could not possibly be, you know, this was in the 80s when we were in that anti apartheid struggle. It was quite seeing seeing apartheid as a certain kind of evil that we needed to all, many of us who were at all progressive were thinking. We must, that's an evil, but on the other hand, southern segregation. Well, there's so many justifications. Yeah. So that's an example. Being sort of having my own education in my intellectual interest sort of filters through that lens of a kind of orientation toward whiteness that I think is a legacy of our racism and our white supremacy. So those are the more subtle ways. It wasn't until I came to California actually and heard the N word hurl that me for the first time. Well, no, that's maybe once before that when I was in Richmond, Virginia, but San Francisco Richmond, Virginia. So when it comes to those experiences whereby personal racism in the form of the epithets and the kinds of physical threat, this can happen in Richmond, Virginia, or Hampton, Virginia, as well as half moon base, California, or San Francisco. This is American culture. Yeah, thank you for all those differentiations and for telling that story. I actually do see value in differentiating between personal racism and systemic racism and acknowledging that both exist in lots of complex ways. So I really appreciate you telling that story. Hey everyone, I'm excited to announce that the 8 week online transcend course is back..

"You know what we should be said okay. It's probably healthy for them. Right let them have the space that they need. Yeah yup is emily some things that we can learn women but i was thinking that you know as podcasters are listening here. They're growing teams. They're they're they're entrepreneurs already. And what are some tips for leaders that our new leaders to really start off on the right foot so that they're not taking on all this stress in making themselves go grind like i love this new. There's a new trend out there. That is also dropping the grinded hustle and being in the flow. So tell us a little bit more about that in how that's possible for new leaders starting out absolutely you know. I'm actually working on the book and this was inspired by show. Coffee with rhonda. The book is called leadership above the grind Right and i'm working on a whole leadership methodology for that because there is this thing where we've been in the grant hear people say oh on my grind like that's a positive thing and i'm like oh yeah not so much for me but But what i recommend to leaders who are really engaging in bits level of building and growing in your own organization or with others is To i have a strategy that i call five cease to stress-free right five cease to stress free and for a new leader. If you can implement this execute this then you have a really great opportunity to create your life as you are creating your business so that they are Harmonious right work. Life integration or work life harmony is an important thing so the i see I i will share is cold clarity and is probably the most important one. What do you want your personal time. Your personal life and your business time elected look like you gotta make that decision. It doesn't just happen accidentally. So if you're not defining it someone else will define it for you right so you have to get clear on where you're going and what you want things to look like as you are heading there. So that's the first thing and then once you define that the next see is building up your self confidence in order to execute that to make that happen right in. And there's a lot of strategies that i give leaders about ways you can grow your confidence. I think confidence is an internal renewable resource right. You always have plenty of it. You just gotta bring it to the surface and the nazi is choices so now if you know what you want your life to look like you build up your confidence to execute this. How do you make choices day in and day out to make sure the business happening. 'cause it's really all about choice if you decide to work on.

"As well as run as damaging testimony from the preliminary hearing autumn. Turns to winter. Subpoenas went out ordering the investigators choices family rhonda and the other potential witnesses to all appear the february trial with just a week and a half to go. Judge taylor issued an order rejecting the motion to suppress rhonda's testimony and the wire recordings he said we're fair game john. Cain immediately asked that the trial be delayed. While he appealed that decision he would ask the utah supreme court to block the use of rhonda's testimony and the wire tapes. Judge taylor agreed to delay. The trial was placed on hold. John told doug if they won this appeal he stood a very good chance of also winning the entire case if the appeal failed however john warned his client they would get quote hammered everything hinged on rhonda john also started talking to the county attorney. His old friend reed richards. They were frank with one. Another read said the only leverage doug had was that joyce's children kim salazar and greg roberts wanted her body returned we definitely were willing to compromise if he really gives her body and so reid said he was willing to take the death penalty off the table if doug would return joyce's remains. It wasn't a formal offer more of a testing of the water. John didn't want to commit before discussing it with doug so he went to the prison for face to face. He posed the question. Would doug be willing to plead guilty in exchange for a sentence of life with the possibility of parole. Doug said yes..

"Kind of person. Is that joyce's son-in-law randy salazar sat stunned at what he was hearing you think yourself. How do you think this didn't happen. How is this lady telling this story you know. How are you still with this man. Why are you sticking up for him. We're kind of where you at one point. Doug bolted upright. That's ally rhonda. He shouted you know that's a lie. The judge parley baldwin told doug to take his seat your honor she's lying. Doug said baldwin again instructed doug to be quiet or else the bailiffs would remove him from the courtroom. Doug flung a curse word or two at rhonda asked the bailiffs approached. Sit down dog said to them. He could let you believe that he was telling you the truth unemotional about it and the next second. He was angry and man no remorse whatsoever. Rhonda had told terry. She feared dug. His courtroom outburst only emphasized. That joyce's son greg. Roberts told me over time he has come to feel sympathy for rhonda somewhere along the way. I've forgiven her Kim rather see her penalty. For what's happened but i think that she was under the huge influence of this psychopath than she was some sort of fog that she goes. Those options weren't for her. My whole thing with her is that she is in my mind. The one person that could have stopped at night. She held all the cards. And i get fear. I understand fear but my mom literally lived across the street from the police station. She could a dropped him off. She could have gone straight to the police station and before he had a chance to do anything they could have been there and he'd been locked up for a long time. She didn't have anything to be scared of. Rhonda's testimony was more than enough to allow the judge to determine probable cause existed to proceed. He concluded the hearing by sending the case to the district court. Where a month later. Doug pleaded not guilty to the charges. The district court judge stanton taylor scheduled a jury trial to begin on february. Second nineteen ninety-three several weeks before the preliminary hearing. I just described doug's friend ron barney met with a las vegas metrically detective in nevada. Ron had something to turn over to the police to something's actually a browning model. Twenty two bolt action rifle and a beretta m three one twelve gauge shotgun. The serial numbers for both guns were listed in. Nccic the fbi's national crime information database as having been stolen out of weber county utah on may fifth nineteen eighty five. They were two of the guns taken from the home of cody montgomery senior by doug level and billy jack. Guns went to cali. Oh where they were buried. Terry carpenter had at long last linked the stolen guns to doug level also tracked down billy jack in colorado interviewed him and in the process discovered evidence corroborating. Rhonda's account of the mother's day weekend outing when they had buried the guns coming back home. They pull off to the side of the road and a half to take a leak to be blunt. Hannah trooper stops and catches them decided throat and were able to verify that happens and who they are but how then have begun ended up in the hands of doug's old hunting. Buddy ron barney. I called him to ask that question. This run iran. My name is dave calling. I'm with ksl Radio up here in salt lake city. Utah you gotta check at the time of this phone. Call in may of two thousand twenty. I knew quite a bit about the history of these guns I'm trying to figure out how they ended up down there with you. Can you help. Illuminate that for me. No i really can't. I can't remember exactly that one. By i knew they had surfaced in october of eighty five when somebody hitting quired about putting them at a place in ogden called the gift house. I described that back in episode. Four ron barney at that time resided in. Utah's salt lake valley. He didn't move to logan nevada until sometime after nineteen eighty eight. I knew terry carpenter had paid a visit in loganville in may of ninety one. I described that in episode six carpenter was that tech king down las vegas. Yep that's the guy. Yeah terry had asked ron what he knew about the stolen guns. Ron had declined to disclose at that time. He possessed two of them. He hadn't conceded. That fact until terry had made a second trip to nevada to apply pressure and he denied up and down. And we finally says well. We'll give you so long and then if we have to charge will charge the He cooperated and so. That's why ron had surrendered the guns to las vegas metro police in nineteen ninety two no charges wherever filed against him and the gun surfaced anyway. My conversation with ron didn't last long. He told me he didn't want to discuss his friendship with doug saying he had only known him through having gone hunting together. He considered that relationship part of his past he passed. He did not want to relive. Okay i like with your With your research. Thank you appreciate your time. Terry's recovery of these two guns provided further evidence of rhonda's honesty and they would be a compelling piece of evidence to show a jury hinting at.

"However off. Like i the whole by alvin have i have. Doug concluded this call by telling rhonda no matter what he would do the right thing in the future. The next morning he came out of his cell for breakfast just in time to witness a brawl. He told his brother about it on the phone. One these sections down air brexit fistfight. You know like. I gotta get from through the. It's crazy man it's crazy there's been heavy half despots just just since. I've been here since thursday. It's doug vented to his brother about how much worse life was in the winter facility compared to ssd he figured it wouldn't be long before he could force the prison to send him back back. Technically have done nothing wrong to be moved. I've done nothing in the institution to be technically right now. They have to keep my job for me and they have to keep my spot. Sst i'm not. I'm not too worried about all that. Because as long as i moved for court reasons or health reasons or something something. That has nothing to do something. I've done since i've been in here. You know. they can now. They can't do anything so that's still good. You know how long that'll be good. I don't know. I mean. I hope this ain't gonna go to a preliminary hearing. Of course the real motive for doug's call was to make sure his brother would be at the arraignment hearing the next day to support rhonda honestly. I'm not worried about it. Because i know i wasn't involved in anything like that and i know ronda worth it. You know if they're gonna try to tack rhonda you know i don't want my children lives disrupted. That's what it boils down to you know and rhonda doesn't deserve to go through this. You know what i mean. Well you know. that's what doug suggested. Rhonda were arrested at the arraignment russ and their dad. Monon should put up a property bond to cover her bail. Nothing like the twenty five thousand for me. He didn't lose thing. I mean there's no way. Skip out on your dad. And i know she wouldn't. You got nowhere to go. Can't even relative state. Iran wouldn't do that anyway russ said. He wasn't sure why they should be on the hook for rhonda's bail instead of her own family and he said he didn't understand why police would arrest her anyhow. considering she wasn't involved in any crime doug told russ. It was all a ruse. The police couldn't have anything on him because of course he hadn't done anything neither had rhonda and he said it'd been seven years. I can't believe after all time research. Poll i get out at work. We'd always he killed his wife time. They charge him with it. And all the names that guy that was back in man for you a this year. John john t wetzel. Let me pause here and tell you a bit about the john wetzel case like doug. John wetzel hailed from the ogden area of utah. His estranged wife cheryl wetzel had served him with divorce papers on november. Thirteen nineteen eighty five. A week later cheryl turned up dead having been shot once in the head and left in her car parked near the ogden river a month later around the same time doug was standing trial for the rape of joyce. Joost john wessels girlfriend. Kitty eeks was pleading guilty to murder. She admitted to the crime but said she had acted alone. She refused to implicate her lover in his estranged. wife's execution kitty headed to prison in january of eighty six just like doug and like doug. She entered therapy once there. It took a few years but kitty ended up telling the full story of cheryl's murder to an attorney. She met through alcoholics anonymous with that. Let's go back to doug phone call with his brother. Russ this one lady. That is why the car somewhere this one lady. John new took the rap for it now since she's being crying the blues i dunno papers she last year the bieber county prosecutors the same ones who were charging doug with capital homicide had also filed a capital homicide charge against john wetzel just a few months prior. Kitty would eventually testify against john saying he had hounded her for weeks to kill sharon to prevent her from taking his assets in the divorce. John told kitty when and how to do it he had given her drugs as well as the money she had needed to buy a gun. Kitty had gone along and even taken the fall for it. She said because she was in love with john. The parallels to doug's situation were striking the timelines of the two cases were almost identical. Both involved a sort of murder-for-hire plot and abandoned car and a female victim who had held a position of power over a man know gonna win my appeal to it would've took probably eighteen months to two years but i know i was gonna win that soon. That hit the feds. They were going to throw that thing up in the air and say you know this because there was so many points man. We was gonna get him on that i would want on. I know it. And i don't know if this is triggered summer whoever it seems like every time i case gets court date south. Doug finished the conversation by once again imploring rust to protect rhonda to post her bail. If necessary later that afternoon doug made one final call to his ex wife ahead of the arraignment. He struck a different tone this time as if nothing were wrong. How kids are fine. Fine complain that.

"Okay out here to say that she didn't do anything you didn't i know is that i feel that. Of course i know it. But ron if they don't have anything you gotta have something really take us to court because they have nothing better to do. How about last january. When they said they had a witness could lead to a body. Doug rattled off a list of past news stories about joyce's disappearance noting how none of the supposed breaks in the case had ever amounted to anything he said he intended to go to arraignment and have his court appointed lawyer file a discovery motion that way he could learn exactly what evidence the police had doug told rhonda he had it under control them like i did on that poaching thing ron i knew the hell i was doing knew exactly what i was doing actually have done that with john but you know because of my injury in my back on all those perkin in and valium and stuff you know i just i laid down robert that's exactly what i did is laid down doug said even if police arrested rhonda they would have to give her bail if needed his dad or brother could arrange a property bond for her just as they had done for him after his arrest for rape in april of eighty-five if if in fact that they're gonna have a hard time proving she's dead first off they have to prove that there's there's a death before they say that there's a murder understand that doug it seemed understood well the concept of corpus delic tie. He begged her trust in him. And to trust in the system underlying this though was doug's actual fear he towed up to the brink of it like a person easing over ever thinning ice on a frozen late. This is all kind of come about since you and i split up you know kinda makes me wonder not about you I just don't know it makes me wonder about a few things. I hope you find this with their own. I just ask you. Please trust my judge. I won't let anything happen to you. Doug she didn't want to hear it. He wasn't in control..

"Doug's brother russ received a collect call from the prison on the evening of friday may fifteenth about twenty four hours after doug move out of. Ssd if you ask west. Communications collect hall from doug following christian known pay call. Yes but it wasn't actually doug on the line I'm apartment ducks. Apparently gonna be lockdown situation right now. He's over here in to maximum security and I don't know if you've heard those are not supposed to see. No return on thirty on poor. Pay should come on chardon. Six o'clock demand told russ doug had an urgent request. He needed his brother to call rhonda her and the kids too and she's on piece called we we kinda jones. She's been book it could not. They told me he was going to charge her already. Yeah they talk about yesterday's project control mongo and a rescue wife now now asked russ if he knew whether or not rhonda had been arrested pitch calling and called back in thirty minutes. Okay okay all right then thank you. Okay doug's friend called again a short time later. How're you doing. I taught garon. She's having didn't pick her up or anything. She has to court and same as i get wednesday morning did they go. Talk to and They're charging her too well. The heavy uh they're gonna charge your wednesday probably well. She said she had to be the court win. He just wanted me find that. Yes there probably i guess. Probably the same time he will okay. His brother wasn't integrate. State of mind. breaks yet either Sort of a complete shock to. There's too much. I can't feel the phone so yeah okay okay. I'll let you go. Thank you for taking Doug moved to the prisons you into facility had triggered t. r. o. or temporary restrictive order solitary in other words. He had spent hours stewing alone in a cell wondering what pressure police were then applying to rhonda the very first call. Doug made when he came out of. Trs on. saturday morning was to rhonda's phone. She didn't answer so he called his brother. Russ with rhonda. How she doing. She's okay. she got court thing. Doug told us he didn't understand what the police were doing. Since neither he nor rhonda had anything to do with joyce joost's disappearance they still have to my knowledge. Any proof of this woman even deceased. Everybody down here is telling me that they're bluffing. They're they're probably going to be any charges. Doug seemed most concerned about how his ex wife was responding. Was rhonda ever charged. She'll be see that's kinda weird too. Don't you think yeah. I mean usually when they have a warrant for somebody especially what are they going to charge her with. I don't know conspiracy to commit a serious charge. That's five alive you know. They would have arrested her and took her right. Downtown booked questioner interrogated. Her whole bit doesn't seem on doug begged to call rhonda and give her one simple direction. Got nothing to hide. And i got nothing. Hi but you know you need to get a hold of her recipe can and tell her not to say anything to anybody at anytime russ told his baby brother not to worry so much was nothing doug could do about any of this until his arraignment hearing the following wednesday still. Doug couldn't help but be moon his situation. I lost my job. You know now enough. I win gotta reinstate my job and everything but in the meantime took me from my job. It took me from my facility. Lost everything. I'm sitting here in maurice jumps. It looks like a wonderful deer hunt right on his jumps with movies loppers. I got nothing over here. Only smoke over here crazy. Suggested maybe dog should sue the police for harassing him. This made doug hesitate and again brought up rhonda listen. I can't leave a message on rhonda's telephone machine. Would you please call leave a message on her telephone machine and have recall you immediately. When she does call tell her everyone down here is telling me that this they probably even going to charge us. And you know it it. It's a big bluff thing to see if anybody does no anything you feel cracked or not. Tell her not to say nothing to the police to nobody. Doug had to get in touch with his ex wife in the back of his mind. Was the angry letter. He had sent her at the start of that week. How would she respond to it. Now when rhonda at last answered one of doug's calls the letter was the first thing he wanted to discuss or last letter disregard for now. Hell coming in and telling me i was going to rely. Changes over kids roundup. Great now we need each other. Can we at least have that told doug she might soon be joining him at the prison. You didn't do anything. Do anything. And i didn't do anything. We got nothing to worry about anything he got. Some reliable people told me down here. They're shooting for the stars. Didn't even arrest you. Did they seen right. It doesn't seem a little odd that they'd interested you. Rhonda knew full. Well why she hadn't been arrested but she conjured a different story for doug. She said maybe detectives hadn't wanted to haul her away in front of her two kids. Doug reminded rhonda this was an eventuality. They had always known might come. I mean as soon as we. I seen it on. Tv this is oh my god. They're going. They're going to believe that i did it from from day one. That had something do disappearance so we always kind of new. There might be right. No we level.

I wanna give him a kid to talk to me. I hope he will talk. I'll be surprised. "It plays a critical role in ensuring that technology has done right. You know secure in private but also in ensuring that its leveraged and optimized right across the enterprise so we broker we integrate we consult in ways to drive value and enable innovation So we had this northstar architecture. And i told you. Data platform is at the center. But it's surrounded by four interconnected platforms. And i'll talk. If you're in does does me. I'd love to tell you all about the northstar. So the data platform is position at the core. Because i think we all know data analytics insights in. Ai are really important for the future in. And we believe that also so here. We're focused on enterprise data management which is Easier said than done which. I'm sure many of the folks in the technology world that are listening to me would would would agree And then we're also building out a technology platform which is the Single source of truth or company. It's based on a persona year persona in your security profile. You get get access So we built on. Aws and we've brought in what we have is innovative analysis tools. Such is autistic. nca we've got all the reporting suite that many organizations have but these are some that have been able to allow us to give our businesses Insights in real time to they can generate so that's innovation number one now there's these interconnected platforms There's this enterprise core and that's our important systems of record no. it organization can get away from the. It's your your earpiece and While maybe not the sexiest stuff. Um we are continuing to rationalize a pretty fragmented or p base and we're moving in our company to s or hana so there's innovation going on there as well as maturing our supply chain processes and were also putting in workday for hr so those are some innovations in that Traditional enterprise for area. We also have a connected things platform as well which is where things like. Machines and robots in factories Live in those plot horns but also putting sensors in our products and so that's another area that has to be connected to the whole with data center..

"Right so you asked me about my role with that as a backdrop <hes>. I lead the technology strategy delivery technology operations for all of the business technology in the company. So the the the systems that run the fourteen billion dollar enterprise. I also lead digital risk management for all areas of technology. We felt that risk was such an important in cyber security risk in particular was such an important element that we would consolidate that under one leader across all areas of technology in. I and my team do our jobs will. Then we'd like to say we're quipping our businesses with all things digital all things data in all things collaboration the kinds of capabilities that they need to to win in growth in the marketplace. All good and i really appreciate the context setting each of those which it which offers a lot lot more backdrop as to why and how you're doing these things as well <hes>. You've been in your role for more than eight years now at an unusually long tenure as a cio. Which is a shirley sign of the great work that you and your team are doing. An during the course of that time i know from our past conversations rhonda that you focused on real cultural transformation of see the department. You found eight years ago naturally. Eight years passing would mean that de la changes but even the emphasis and indeed. The culture of the organization has changed quite a bit <hes>. Based on some very deliberate changes that you've incorporated into the into the it organization. Talk a bit about that if you would sure. That is a great question. And i also think you're pointing out. That eight years is a long time right. He said in the chair and young. I think what you meant is. I've likely seen a lot absolutely correct when i joined. The company denies more as a holding company with very thomas business units and they had very independent decision making on how best to run the pnl and really how best to run their technology stacks and while it was a hugely successful model drove a lot of shareholder value but were also not only autonomous culture. We were also highly acquisitive in fact a hundred acquisitions in tenure timeframe while not all of those were in emanate size of a black and decker in beckham two thousand ten before i joined the company on that doubled the size of the company that one acquisition <hes> but the size of an acquisition of the revenue size of the business is not the only indicator of complexity as. I'm sure you know there are many factors but suffice it to say that with autonomous decision-making coupled with a lot of him. In a that. When i arrive there was a lot of complexity. A lot of duplication in really a lot of costs and inefficiency working in the it landscape <hes>. By it organization was equally <hes>. I found the haves and the have nots <hes>. There were businesses that were having a good year. They were investing in one thousand nine hundred and then there were businesses that could be struggling given the diverse portfolio of businesses. That we we have they might be not invest are not even in technical debt reduction her life cycle maintenance so i found duplication of technology. I've found multiple contracts that were with no cross business. Unit leveraged ongoing on sharing skill sets across divisions <hes>. To get better scale of resources. So as you might be reading into this is the first cultural. Change i made was to form this enterprise. it organization. I'm really consolidating across the company and there was huge buying in for it as you can imagine once again to highlight some of the inefficiencies that were taking place and really some of the limiters durability to scale and take that next next wave of growth um so my goals were to preserve the culture of business unit closeness because in that former model. It was tightly integrated with the business. And i didn't wanna lose at tight. Integration but also wanted to deliver a lot of scale of the technology people assets and leverage on kind of across the whole so this is a major undertaking stepped into the mini little holes along the way. But i'm happy to say that we're we're fully in this model now after course after. Eight years <hes>. I'd say some of the most important things that we focused on. What's really the opportunity for the team members on because no longer were they being whipsawed by this. Michael ups and downs is there was a pretty steady overall rate of investment in it but they had opportunities as team members to work in different businesses and experience <hes>. A lot of different dynamics as you move from say the security business to the oil and gas business to work on a project or provide some support.
