"If you want to stand out in one of these events make sure you put on a piece of clothing. So the first thing that she had was this. I don't know what is that a dragon mascot is no. It's just a smiley face. Winky kind of a winky smiley face our Like it's chuckling. And then she had a king's dies. I don't want to call it a purse. It was a bag. Just seems tote bag a tote bag but it was completely rhinestone covered. And i can't tell you how many people would say oh. Let me take your fijian's seek sequence right. And then she was wearing hass. She brought all these hats with her that she would wear and it literally worked people would come up and introduce

"Now here's joyce with today series joy and enjoyment and i talk often about the early days of the ministry and how hard we worked and the little tiny meetings that we had and dreaming of this day hoping to see the day i remember when i was just believing that just got if just one hundred people show up today that took years and it was hard sometimes to hang onto that dream and there were jillion times when i wanted to quit. But that's exactly what the devil wants you to do. Can i tell you. It does not take any courage to quit. Anybody can do that but only strong people can hang on to your dreams. When there's nothing no reason to making ever think that it would come to pass. Accept what god is put in your heart in man now another thing that we have floating around the inside of us that i personally think is one of the most important things motives. God is not nearly as concerned with what we do as why we do it. And i want to add that no matter what you're doing if you're doing it for the wrong reason you cannot enjoy your life. Only works with ripe mode is will be rewarded rb satisfying matthew. Six one three seven. Yes i said seven verses. Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. It doesn't mean that people can't see you doing good works but it means if you do them on purpose in front of them to be seen by them. Guess what you have no reward you get no reward. So when you give to the needy do not announce it with trumpets as the hypocrites do the synagogues and on the streets to be honored by others. Truly i tell you. They have received their reward in full already. But when you give to the needy don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. What does that mean. I believe that even after we do something really good for somebody. We're not even supposed to sit around and think about how good we were man. I read one book a long time ago. That says love stays in the shadows until it's needed and it steps out does its work and goes back into the shadows waiting for the next opportunity when you give to the needy. Don't let your left hand and right hand is doing so that you're giving may be in secret and your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you openly. Do you know how hard it is to do. Something really good for somebody and nobody know it. But you in god you know why because the flesh craves credit it just wants a little pat a little nod. Not i've told this story before but it's been a while since i've told it so if you've heard it again i don't apologize. You just probably need to hear it now. Probably this has been over thirty years ago. And i'm glad to be able to say that but it wasn't yesterday but anybody here remember those days when he's big jesus rhinestone. Jesus pins were popular. How many have you ever had a rhinestone. Jesus pin come on. There's only three of us in here. That old lord help me anyway. They were a big thing. And so i was in nail shop. One day getting my nails done there was somebody else in there. Getting there is done and they were talking about being a nurse in a hospital and how hard it was to see people in such bad shape and not even able to talk to them about god because it was against hospital policy and so i had this thought that was from god. Giver that bright shiny pin. You're and tell her that if she aware that on a uniform even when she lanes over patience and they say the name. Jesus it'll bless them and help them. But i felt like i was supposed to do it in secret and i didn't know how in the world is going to do that. Since there was a girl that are working on me and lo and behold the girl working on me said oh you know what joyce. I just ran out of a product. Here that i need. I'm going to have to run next door to the supply house and get it so. God opened up the door for me to get no attention. He made a way for him to get all the glory. As i sat there while i grow was gone wrestling with myself about ready to do it. Now are to wait until the girl came back. And i'd like to tell you. I did the right thing but i didn't. I sit there and wait at night and told myself i eat. Might really bless her to see my generosity might be a good example to her and so she came back and when i got finished i took the pin. I took it over to the girl. And i said i want you to have this. I felt like god told me that. If you would just wear it on your uniform on and everybody. I got just exactly what i want. All that is so nice. You are so kind that is so sweet and as i walked out the door to go to my car i heard the lord whisper my heart. I hope you enjoyed that. Joyce because that's all the reward. You're getting anybody else ever done anything like that. Of course well thank god. That was thirty five years ago. Motives are so important. And when you pray don't be like the hypocrites they loved a price danny in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others truly i tell you. They have received their reward in full. You know i'll be honest. Even when i'm praying corporate prayers in these meetings and praying for you guys. I had to learn not to be concerned about what you thought about the eloquence of my prayer but to keep my is really on jesus and listening for what he wants me to say and not be up here trying to impress you. I don't want to lose my reward. Come on how many of you don't wanna lose your reward but when you pray go into your room close the door pradier father who is unseen and your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you and when you pray. Don't keep on babbling like pagans. I love this. But i think it'll be heard. Because of their many words i could tell some stories. But i don't have time. Nee people do right things but they do them with the wrong motive and if you do a right thing with the wrong motive you're not going to have joy.

"Know hundreds of dollars not thousands or millions So you have to do the cost analysis of well. I wanna make sure. I'm not getting screwed over by this. But how much does it cost me have a lawyer look at it and and if if that happens in my really making money so that that's why we say it's allowed west. It's really just crazy right now. You would hope those more local levels ike schools at unc. Even see you a little bit when they're signing with the the local level because it's been media outlets that have been signed them. You would hope that they've actually got those true intentions. But you said you never know With that being said though kevin even these hundred hundreds of dollars of deals that'll buy lottery of little caesars pizzas and a lot of natty lights. Maybe yeah exactly. And it's you know. Think back to when you're in college Especially you know if you're a college athlete you don't have time for a job for the most part. Just imagine what a couple hundred dollars with dunkirk. It is a big deal like we are kind of joking about it but realistically for most nineteen year old kid. That's really big for some of these kids. They're probably sending it back home. You know to help their family so so yeah it. It is a big deal and it's been cool to see some of the athletes who were really ready for this You an example. rhinestone house. He if you don't think upon her of someone that would be a huge deal for this but he's been really eager. He's been very vocal in the past about one college. Athletics is a business and athletes are the main part of it which of course he's right and he had a logo ready he's wanted to run camps for a long time saying he just wants to run kick camps and they'll make a little money it's not like he's gonna be getting rich off running kit funner camps but it's kinda cool. He has a cool logo right iraq and he's going to be doing some camps here so it's been the guys like him who were kind of forward thinking and prepared for this when it did. Come in to top of that kevin. I mean it's good business lessons. I mean that that's a great thing to have ready. It's gates marketing..

"But yeah i i <Speech_Female> think the best thing to do is <Speech_Female> to step back and <Speech_Female> even like leaving <Speech_Female> it on for like ten <Speech_Female> minutes to kind <Speech_Female> of be like. Oh yeah <Speech_Female> and then <Speech_Female> coming <SpeakerChange> back to it. <Speech_Female> Afterwards and <Speech_Female> you mentioned lashes <Speech_Female> anything else <Speech_Female> in terms of finishing <Speech_Female> touches or embellishments <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> that a with <Speech_Female> adding <Speech_Female> for showa. I've <Speech_Female> been going on about cream products. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> I <Speech_Female> just love <Speech_Female> cream products. I highly <Speech_Female> recommend <Speech_Female> popping on <Speech_Female> a cream highlighter <Speech_Female> or cream. <Speech_Female> Blush on top of <Speech_Female> all of your hardware <Speech_Female> because a just <Speech_Female> makes the skin look sar <Speech_Female> luscious <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> juicy <Speech_Female> and i'm all <Speech_Female> about that. <Speech_Female> The other thing is <Speech_Female> sitting your <Speech_Female> makeup sorry <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> simply <Speech_Female> instead of <Speech_Female> just spraying <Speech_Female> on my sitting <Speech_Female> spray. I actually <Speech_Female> spray <Speech_Female> it directly <SpeakerChange> onto <Speech_Female> my beauty blend. All <Speech_Female> and i <Speech_Female> kind of pat it into <Speech_Female> the back of my <Speech_Female> palm <Speech_Female> and then i slowly <Speech_Female> roll <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> eight. Rv <Speech_Female> my face <Laughter> it doesn't smudge <Speech_Female> it <Speech_Female> nar. <Speech_Female> Toss <SpeakerChange> hint einar. <Speech_Female> I was really <Laughter> scared to <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> our good. <Speech_Female> So i <SpeakerChange> wouldn't recommend <Speech_Female> putting it on top of the <Speech_Female> i lied. Okay <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> but definitely <Speech_Female> like under the <Speech_Female> i <Speech_Female> you know everywhere else. <Speech_Female> A <Speech_Female> makes <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> such a difference. <Speech_Female> How important is <Speech_Female> that rest of your makeup. <Speech_Female> Look actually just <Speech_Female> when you've got the dramatic. <Silence> I <Speech_Female> yeah <Speech_Female> i think <Speech_Female> yeah. It's everything <Speech_Female> because <Speech_Female> not <Silence> all of us <SpeakerChange> have <Speech_Female> perfect. Paulus <Speech_Female> skin <Speech_Female> i. <Speech_Female> i'm praying to a breakout. <Speech_Female> And so for <Speech_Female> instance. If <Silence> i would away like <Speech_Female> let's <Speech_Female> go like the lips for a second. <Speech_Female> If we would do <Speech_Female> a red lip <Speech_Female> look <Speech_Female> and then. I left <Speech_Female> my skin <Speech_Female> bay. <Speech_Female> I would feel like it would kind <Speech_Female> of bring out <Speech_Female> the readiness. <Speech_Female> Like ina breakout. <Speech_Female> Just as an <Speech_Female> example. I think <Speech_Female> it goes the is as <Speech_Female> well like if you at a door <Speech_Female> really dramatic. I <Speech_Female> leave the rest of <Speech_Female> the skin <Speech_Female> from me. I think <Speech_Female> it would bring out <Speech_Female> like the purple <Speech_Female> and blue in my <Speech_Female> under is <Speech_Female> 'cause i have <Speech_Female> really naturally doc <Speech_Female> under is <SpeakerChange> sir. <Speech_Female> I think <Speech_Female> that would be my <Speech_Female> issue <Speech_Female> with it but at the same <Speech_Female> time on my <Speech_Female> radical <Speech_Female> self acceptance as <Speech_Female> well you know do you wanna <Speech_Female> do <Speech_Female> That's just my personal <Speech_Female> like <SpeakerChange> for my <Speech_Female> face. Yeah <Speech_Female> you kind of have to be <Speech_Female> aware i guess. If <Speech_Female> you've got those undertones <Speech_Female> president having <Speech_Female> those really bright <Speech_Female> colors might bring <Speech_Female> it out see. You might <Speech_Female> need to do a <SpeakerChange> little bit more <Speech_Female> correcting <Speech_Female> you do. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Whatever makes year <Speech_Female> so beautiful i <Speech_Female> think is the most <Speech_Female> important in <Speech_Female> makes you feel comfy. <Speech_Female> Go <Speech_Female> ahead but yeah <Speech_Female> when it comes to <Speech_Female> the rest of the faces <Speech_Female> while i love to use <Speech_Female> as saying <Speech_Female> blush. <Speech_Female> I might run <Speech_Female> the same <Speech_Female> pink. That i <Speech_Female> put my eye <Speech_Female> on minorities <Speech_Female> for example <Speech_Female> so it just kinda <Speech_Female> makes everything look a hasty <Speech_Female> in like <Speech_Female> a whole look <Silence> brings <SpeakerChange> it altogether. <Speech_Female> I'd <Speech_Female> be scared of it. Being <Speech_Female> matchy matchy. But you've just <Speech_Female> given me permission. <SpeakerChange> So <Speech_Female> i'm feeling confident. <Speech_Female> I <Speech_Female> love matching matchy. <Speech_Female> Yeah <Speech_Female> i'm like tartly against <Speech_Female> like traditional <Speech_Female> roles of makeup. <Speech_Female> Sorry <Speech_Female> the loss <Speech_Female> fishing talk just weld <Speech_Female> would disobey <Speech_Female> to chuck rhinestone <Speech_Female> on it. Honestly <Speech_Female> you <Speech_Female> can go to the craft store <Speech_Female> and get a share <Speech_Female> of them this <Speech_Female> superfan.

"Turns heads in boob baring Rhinestone look. Wait. Okay, Boob baring Rhinestone low, But wouldn't it just be note? Top that just Yeah, that sounds like that's not even a top. You want me to tell? You know, we just want to keep talking about it sing or, like, you know this thing I don't know anything about. Let me keep talking about that. Let me just tell you what we're talking about First and then please, By all means go off. Cool. So I clicked on this thing because I was like boob baring Rhinestones. I'm in two of my favorite things, right? Um, So then I was treated to this heinous Heaviness. Look, uh, expressed by one and yes, I'm judging. Oh, my gosh. Uh, as a person who I was just saying in the break has been wearing the same outfit for a year. I am in a great place to judge others on what they're wearing. I agree, but The outfit that you cannot see Dear listener involves the following. It's as if she walked Out of I don't know. A runway show needed something to cover up with. And by the way, the runway show is only from the waist up, because because everything else is terrible else's terrible except for like. Her Rhinestone boobies, which is just like, uh, It's actually a movie on movie. Yeah. Oh, well, look, there's Glen Campbell. Uh um so It's just like chained like Rhinestone chain Maley kind of thing. Right top. That is not even really. It looks like a prop more than a piece of fashion. But I think you're you hit the nail on the head when you said it looks like she just walked in on a fashion runway. You would see that on a fashion run right runway. You would not see that in the produce section No at Cub Foods, but oddly So there are melons. Hey! Uh, thank you, but oddly, she's just walking. Yeah, like in a parking lot, and also she's walking like she's on a runway. I'm like. She's just so this is like, clearly there's so much going on here. I don't even know where to begin, but I just want to finish. The outfit, so she's got the chain mail. She would have finished right. The V neck chain mail boobies, which you can see clearly, the only thing hiding the rest of her boobies and nipples, nipples. R is a blazer? Um, and then she's wearing sort of like, uh, What would you even call that I would call them jogger, jeans, jogger, jeans, high waisted, Yeah. High waisted jogger jeans, high cuffed jogger jeans, baggy jeans with Heels. Her hair is impeccably done, as is her makeup. There's no context given. All it says, is She flaunted her ample cleavage in flat tummy while out and about Friday and I'm like she was walking out and about in this outfit because she left a photo shoot. She had to have because the look Oh yeah, includes a $1995 blazer. Those genes those jogger jeans stagger gene called high waisted gray jeans, Mhm. From Natalie Read A B C. For $700. But like that outfit, I don't understand what Like what's paint the scene for me paint the picture of When you wear that outfit. I don't care. Don't look at me. Do I look like somebody beat that picture for you? But even if you could, like, you'd say, Well, it's a fancy night out on the town. No, The rest of her doesn't look like a night on the town. It looks like she literally was four different places. She was like, I'm in the midst of a global pandemic, and I have decided that every day I'm going to pick random items of clothing out of my wardrobe and just Assemble them on my body. It's a mishmash. She's a business lady going to the Renaissance Festival while hanging out on the couch and going to the club at the same time, the same time it's everything. It's a little bit of everything while doing Tik TAKS. I'm sure guess what? We're talking about Her. Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, but I mean, as a D bag, so I don't know if she doesn't the attention she would they don't care. Remember? This is the woman who licked her boyfriend's tongue. While grabbing his crotch on the red carpet. I will say she has filed her fingernails down somewhat. They are very, very pointed, though. She is. She's one of those people where you're like, Do you ever have A day where you Are like I am not a 10 today. I am definitely she's you know, like, you know when you like, roll out of bed on Saturday, and you just don't care. Um She doesn't ever look like that. No, she doesn't. "Does thing where a film that is. Desperate to make you feel something. Anything will go right to dying mother at christmas and i lost my own mother cancer and so i will say if you do dying mother at christmas rights. You got me the bag. I'm a super soft touch with that but boy when you do it wrong. It just looks shameless. And this movie is so desperately trying to make you feel something so cancer. Mom isn't doing it for you. How 'bout i lost my father and my fiance in the same truck accident. I was sitting in the backseat. Like they just load on the personal tragedy but nothing in this movie means anything so it just is this weird recitation of like. Ooh this is also bad. I guess Yeah i didn't. I didn't feel anything and certainly no christmas feels you know i mean i get it. Not every movie is going to be drowned and fake snow and that's fine and there's ways you can do a christmas movie and a sunny climb and make up for it. But they barely bother. I think you know on wheel of fortune. They have a really thin sliver. That's the million dollar thing you know. I think in the hallmark or netflix office. There wheel includes a little sliver. That says he does. And it's it's the lead everyone she knows and loves dies and they spun the wheel for christmas california and he hit everybody dies. What are we going to do. Everybody's got josh. We just we gotta dad guys fiance dies. Mom's gonna die. It's just we gotta do it. We'll we'll make it work. I'm sure let's make the movie longer that'll make it. Can you please respect the art. It's a california christmas dan to christmas in california. I'm sorry excuse. People are not tuning into any more. Just turn off because this is not what the don't donate and drive a right. Not all here today. Who the best yes. I don't have a ton of feels. Lord knows no christmas field like why even tease us with the word in the title. I just don't do it but i. I liked manny. And i thought manny was funny. Obviously i felt like you could have done more with the character for what he was. He was the best part of the movie. Like i got quite a few chuckles out of manny. And so i guess. I'm just a sucker for that. But yeah manny. Manny feels dan No obviously not. No there's no mood be had i. I don't see the the plot does not serve it. These these actors very well and neither does this and it's a movie that really. We've seen a bunch of times where i'm acting like i'm this thing but i'm actually this thing. I'm the secret prints a secret rich person. Secret things andrew walker and alicia witt. Did it you know. In the first movie we watched last year laden. It is a common thing and it just never felt like it governor. Andrew didn't know he didn't know it was the bad guy. Yeah i just is not. It's not very good at it. Just lends itself more to questions in anything i had. No no feels. Zero feels to be had in this movie. Wow okay. I'll take a quick break. We'll come back and we will talk the wait. What's the what the flicks iran like the homework. We're back. We're talking about a california christmas fattest the title a california christmas. Got up by the middle of the The epicenter for the way west far. Shall we talk about one in this movie minutes. Go wait wide alonzo de was there one for you. Oh i really had to stretch. I have a few First starters okay so Rich jerk arrives at the farm. Calf is being born. That is the cleanest can come out of a cow ever like that calf would be. We have a nicest jelly donut smearing of like viscera and whatever that looks so pissed off at someone dumped water all over her. That's what she looked like. She was like what happened. Here it is. It is squeaky clean all right. This movie would have you believe that these awful rich people who really want this land are gonna go and like try and make deals with them when they're about to be visited and the mother's about the die of cancer. Those voters are all weight. And it's all gonna come there. D- doesn't making any effort at all strains i told braille. You're watching. I hate to be the villain here but like the bank is not dealing with these people. I mean the rich people are not. They're dealing with the bank. "TV. Yeah, and, um I hadn't. I hadn't thought about that. Until that exact moment I was going there was to satisfy it occurred to you. I'm here to watch TV. I'm here to watch TV and I'm here to talk to people about watching T V Even in America. Terrifying, right? The other thing I was there for it was to watch was was. This was amazing. People make dark shadows videos. They make their own dark shadows videos when you mean like using footage from the original No, no, they create New dark shadows videos like structured episodes. They make new episodes sell. They make new episodes themselves like they get costumes and build sets. Oh, my God, There's this one. There was this one thing. It was amazing. It was a parody of the show. But a parody like if you watched it right now, you would go. You know, it could be funny, but you know, it's all inside jokes. If you watch like dark shadows, it's the only way you think this is funny, but it was so elaborate like they had built like completely rebuilt. The set of like Barnabas is drawing room completely. They had and then, like another set was in a graveyard and they had completely done the graveyard. This one man played three different characters, and it was edited like it was completely professional. I mean, they must have spent like a ton of money. They had gotten one of the original cast members to come and be in the video. It was so incredibly elaborate. It was, like 45 minutes long, and it was good, and that was like the thing. I'm sitting there going. This is really good. Mm. Your outfit at this point. Well, I had I had put on my red burgundy crushed velvet Pierre Cardin jacket that I'd gotten at the Salvation Army for five bucks. It had like a little water spot on the back of it. I had put on my, uh, Rhinestone broach that looks sort of like a flaring son with this big, huge Rhinestone right in the middle of your right in the middle, which I pin to my silks, silk shirt and black pants and My shoes, which were Quentin Collins shoes from the 1960 show. I mean, I I found the John was the only one there who dressed up At least the first day everyone else was in shorts, summer clothes, casual clothes, which makes a person wonder. Am I the weirdo? And ever. John McCain on the elevator, wearing his convention name tag with non convention hotel guests, and they would look at me. And they would look at my badge. And then they would look at me again..

"Trouble i when i pushed the clutch in to change gears. It goes away. The wind goes away when i led to watch out. It comes back all right. Look you can hang up right now and the truth is if you did hang up right now you probably would be all right for a really long time the car on the other hand you'll be all right you'll get over. It's better not to know. Sometimes yeah so you you don't wanna hang up no well. The fact is that because the noise goes away when you step on the clutch. The noises coming from the transmission. Okay and it's coming from what's called the pilot shaft bearing now. It could be making noise because it's just worn out and has a lot of miles on it. Fifty fifty thousand miles. Oh that's not a lotta okay so you can hang up now if you'd lied out of any time during this we won't be offended. My mother-in-law's probably already heard this go far. For his his his the worst case scenario that the oil in the transmission leaked out either through an actual seal. Or god knows what you know. And if that's the case and the thing ran for a long time with insufficient lubrication then you could have damaged not just this bearing by the way. Which is the one that happened to be here. I hesitate to ask the question but when you're in motion is the noise more severe than it is. When you part. I think the answer to that is no when that's what i'm doing. Forty or fifty. I can't hear it because knowing that i you know i'm going to fast that. And how about twenty miles an hour on a quiet street when you. When you're doing that speed can hear it but my wife can't hear it. Can you mother-in-law well. If that's the case then you may be all right and i. I would do the following. I would take it to the repair shop and ask them to check the transmission oil level. Okay if it's full. I think i would just continue to drive it until the noise. Got to be horrendous. That's what i meant was by. If you hung up in the beginning of the call you'd probably be okay for a long time all right but but when the noise unless you're auto oil if you're out of oil then you're probably going to have to have the transmission rebuilt sooner than later in. The noise may get horrendous real soon. But i have had caused. That have had this noise for ten years and was parked by dr. Come through i say. Can i leave my car overnight for the next nine years and of course. They don't make noise when they're driven. Well that's only because my sister would let me leave it anymore. Get god so you might be able to go a long time but but more than anything have the transmission oil level checked if it's low fill it up or change it and obviously fixed whatever league is responsible for being low in hope for the best. Okay and now you can hang up. Thanks for calling. Bye-bye one eight likes. My sleek black beauty had that noise in it for fifty thousand miles. Oh yeah they can go a long time. It depends how fixated you get on if he starts yup obsessing about the noise. The radio's not loud enough. You'll hear that's the only thing you'll hear. That's why he can hear it at twenty miles an hour and his wife can't because it isn't really that he's making it up right and he's he's flipped out now. I think maybe we've just calmed him enough. I hope so that he can forget about it. New joy the car. Yeah because he thought it was an ominous sound and it was going to be a thousand dollars which is why he's gone. Mother-in-law break that newstalk funny man transmission. Funny man's talk that's eight. Do seventeen to. Yeah tell everyone kickbacks. Hello you're on hi. This is denise. And i'm from east point michigan hi. Denise high point michigan east point michigan we got it all right I have eight dodge. Monaco it is my parents. They are giving it to me. I flew from michigan to texas and drove them. Home and I'm sure the cars never been driven over fifty miles an hour and so when i'm driving them home. I'm going much faster because you're anxious to get rid of them. Hello who got the news. They are darlings but it was a long. Oh yes you didn't know eight thousand mile in slow motion. Let me get this straight. You went to texas to get the car and you drove it back to michigan with my parents in it and they're gonna fly back to texas. Well this is all up in the air right now. They're moving in with you. We are going into out life changes here and we're quite where this is all gonna head. Oh so they're staying with you at the moment to know. They have a home Near flint michigan. So i drove them there but on the first day and the last day of the trip and i am going much faster than fifty the car starts making a moose call from below. It seemed below the driver's seat but outside. It is a howl and louder. Oh my so of course. My sweet mother said well. We better not go over sixty miles an hour. I just talked louder and it and it happened again on the last day which was the fourth day but i came from both sides of the car. There was a fourth day but it felt like the twelfth day. You know so much know been ordeal and your kids alive down. Well it seems that undisbursed day in the fourth day the wind was blowing a lot. Yeah what is going on with this car. Well i i have no idea at this point what it is but maybe this will give you some insight. I remember years ago. I had a customer that came to the shop with a similar noise. In fact speeds above forty miles an hour. The howling from the from the underside of this car was so annoying. That it just couldn't you couldn't stand it right. And we assumed was a wheel bearing or transmission bearing some some such thing or a bad differential gear and finally after like my ninth. Test-drive i remember. I had the window one of the driver's side window open. And i had my hands sticking out the window touching the roof rack and all of a sudden. I realized the noise was coming from the roof rack. This is what i'm thinking is. There's something's catching this air. Well the fact that you said it happened on very windy. Days is very encouraging. Okay obviously don't have a roof rack on it. No and you said it sounded like it was coming from underneath or the outside is a car it kind of seemed like it was from underneath me outside but it could easily be coming from a windshield leak for example whether strip you know. That's not seated properly a can that can make a terrible howling noise. I remember a few years ago.

"Of buzz going around like usually you hear something like how his recovery is going to be good. You know you've got like damian williams. I think it almost it completely crushes collins value because he does exactly what cohen would actually be doing. And i thought monty was already better than cohen. At that point pass catching as well so to me it. It cohen is off raider completely. So i think if you were co owner. You're mad if you're monte owner. You're not happy so out. Probably have to say it's a mad was the last one who's tevin coleman know. I kinda liked that. Coleman at the jets. I don't like it per se but if out of those three he's got the chance of starting gig right. I mean yep whatever. That's what for whatever that's worth. He can't stay healthy. he couldn't beat out. Most or wilson Most are probably better than anybody. The jets though you know. But he's familiar with the system a game on all these have ties to the offense in the coaching staff. So you know these these guys are that might have been why they brought specific beds in these teams but now coleman easily could be the best running back on the jets next year. I don't know if that's worth a lot. But we've seen with the offense at. They're implementing this year the running back. There usually always good. You know we were holding out hope. For a p ron we at i kind of like the johnson johnson guy still young. He's had some stars you know with the lions starts with you as you know actually had some pretty good gains in there. You know So i i liked him. I thought he was interesting. Prospect this probably kind of buries him. You know it kind of varies all these guys you know none of these guys like really jumped out at me you know. I might give a fourth up for for p. rhinestone but i'm not buying them for third anymore. I still think the jets bright bring somebody else. And so i'm gonna take different on this one. And so i'm gonna say that damian williams for me is the math. Because i and i think when it all comes down to this all of these guys are closer to mass just because none of them or superstars but for the sake of this challenge which i think is interesting I'm going to have to say that. Damian williams is the mad because we don't know what to expect out of him and they stop david montgomery there. So whatever this for Damian williams is probably not going to be a big factor. Either way for the offense and don't think the signings gonna have much value to it. I'm gonna have to say. I actually think this is interesting because i think the map rita would be out of these findings might love signing because i see the opportunity. Is there for map rita. I just don't know what the dolphins i don't know what was up last year. They had all these different running. Mega gaskins howard weeda and breda wasn't utilize all basically. We never got to see anything out of him so it was disappointing but now the bills. I think he's actually going to get some carries. Does zack moss in devon singled hair. Which i don't love. But i think map we'd actually has a shot to get some carries the season at least more than he did last season. So i think this is gonna boost his value in the most. Besides maybe tevin coleman and this is going to be interesting..

"Only made six career starts but one of them resulted in a victory in the kentucky derby and burst onto the racing. Cd twenty five years ago this month with a win in the louisiana derby. His name was grindstone. A foal from the first crop of nineteen ninety kentucky derby winner dreidel rhinestones was owned and bred by lexington kentucky. Native william tian in the name of his overbrook farm center d wayne lukas grindstone raced twice as juvenile before undergoing surgery for a bone chip in a knee. But after a seven month layoff. He returned to the races with a runner-up relation allowance company at santa anita in february of nineteen ninety-six to start his three-year-old campaign. Despite having made just three career starts grindstone went to new orleans on march seventeen for the great three louisiana derby at a mile and a sixteen despite having nothing more than a maiden special weight victory to his name. Rhinestone was dispatched the two to one second choice behind local favorites arbs magic and it was arbs. Maverick stood and rhinestones way in the final furlong. Tony bentley had. The call takes me puts up. Magic hangs on the inside but it will be grindstone with the lead and sar magic. Grindstone when bill. Louisiana derby by war with terry daily with these victory that day grindstone was now part of discussions for the upcoming kentucky derby but he was lightly raced and no winner of the louisiana derby had won the kentucky. He would have to deal with the magic in the stretch. Terry wallace brings them home. Describe magic magic comes back. Takes at the magic of turn upset. Rhinestone was only eaten the neck that day but he would be heading to the kentucky derby with a lot of questions surrounding for one thing. Rhinestone had only made five career starts. No horse had won the kentucky. Derby on five starts or less since brokers tip in nineteen thirty-three for another. He wasn't even necessarily the best in these trainers d wayne. Lukas would be sending record. Five horses to the derby and lucas himself was reluctant to rank one above another. There were skip away. Who had just set a stakes record in the bluegrass at keeneland. On the first saturday in may nineteen ninety-six. Rhinestone would have to overcome history. He would have to overcome highly talented and more experienced bows and he would have to make a furious. Run in the final furlong. But jockey jerry. Bailey had him in high gear. Dave johnson of abc sports with the goal of cracked late cabinet on the side of town. And here's optima to guide wasn't cabin on the inside was it baby. Lucas announced that grindstone had been retired from racing. Following the discovery of another bone chip in the colts need may grindstone the first horse and seventy years to be retired immediately following win in the kentucky derby but he also has become the first horse in seventy two years to win both the louisiana derby and the kentucky derby he had won the first million dollar kentucky derby in history he had given lucas consecutive win and a triple crown race and he had made. Wt young kentucky derby winning owner and brief. I was never proud to stand next to mr young said lucas. Adding this is absolutely the happiest. I've ever been in my life. As a stallion grindstone would become the sire of belmont winter bird stone and the grand sire of classic winners mine that bird and summer bird following his stallion career in kentucky he would relocate to oregon and twenty ten where he would sire more stakes winners in the pacific northwest but the legacy of brian stone began twenty five years ago. She received a lot of backlash for wearing a mesh face mask. It's kind of like a lace face mask during a book signing event with fans. It's sparkly. It's pretty, but I think we can all see that you, Khun breathe through this thing very like a fishing net. And it's like, Come on, girl. What do you do in that is it's a see through mass ISS. It's like, does nothing at all. So she was at the grocery shopping complex in Los Angeles, she was out to promote her new poetry book. Violet bent backwards over the grass is the name of it, And that's when she had this Rhinestone encrusted mesh face mask on Yeah. No, no, no, no. Come on. It's not proper celebrities. Don't they have people wrangling them and telling them You know, you think that's gonna work and you're going to get some bad press for that? So because the saying isn't always true. Ari Welcome to the show. Are welcomed address. It's such a pleasure to have you here with us today. To be here. Thank you so much. So I believe you were actually in your late twenties. When you start at advance style I, think you started in two thousand eight. So you were not in still are not exactly a member of the you know the stylist set over sixty. that. You've taken as your muses. Can you tell us a little bit about the origin story of advance style and how you came to create this wonderful what started as a blog I always had an interesting clothing in that came from spending so much time with my grandmother bloom. Who is my best friend and like the most magical thing that I can imagine doing was going through her wardrobe and seeing her caftans, addresses and old hats and gloves in going through the bureau drawers. Seeing, the vintage rhinestone jewelry and I think because I was so connected to her she was my best friend that each one of these items kind of held a special power to me and. I learned early on that you can transform your mood with clothing. We we played a lot. You know in her closet at night where my grandfathers had closed schools. And you know dressing up was really a joy for me and a way to kind of a certain might individuality and my creativity because I always felt a bit different when I was younger than everyone else and so it was a way for me to like own the difference in owned Strangeness Weirdness Eccentricity and I used to flip through my grandmother scrapbooks in see images. Of Her and her family members dressed up in the nineteen thirties forties in Iowa in although they didn't have a lot of money everybody had szeged elegance or she's great has gloves and I was really struck by these images and we watch movies together in when I was really young I started to draw pictures of my grandmother and her friends and some times even imaginary older. Women with really wonderful style. So this was kind of the roots of the project and then I went away to college my grandma with wasn't feeling very well, and so I went back and forth from San Diego my hometown to Seattle where I'm going to college studying art history I would help my grandmother and when she passed away in two thousand and eight I really had. So much grieving to do I mean it's the biggest loss I'd ever experienced. But I also knew that I needed to do something that celebrated you know our relationship kind of continued this connection that had that was so deep and profound, and when I was really young, my grandmother told me that I should move to New York if I wanted to do something creative she had. Studied at College in late thirties, early forties and became a librarian, and she always talk to me about the style on the streets in the creativity. So when I moved to New York in two, thousand eight after my grandmother passed away I started to see all these incredible women on the streets of New York. City in wanted a way to connect with that kind of energy. Again in also deal with the loss of my grandmother. So I was about healing and then I realized that these images that I was taking have the power to shift other people's perspectives on getting older.

How Does Your Mind Affect Your Joy?

"David I talk often about the early days of the ministry and how hard we worked and. The little tiny meetings that we had. And Dreaming Of This Day? Hoping to see the day I. Remember when I was just believing that just God if just one hundred people show up today. That took years. And You know it was hard sometimes to hang onto that dream. And there were jillion times when I wanted to quit. But that's exactly what the devil wants you to do. Can I tell you? It does not take any courage to quit. Anybody can do that but only strong people. Can Hang on to your dreams when there's nothing. No reason to making ever think that it would come to pass accept what God has put in your heart. Man. Now, another thing that we have floating around the inside of us that I personally think is one of the most important things. Motives. God is not nearly as concerned with what we do as why we do it. And I want to add that no matter what you're doing if you're doing it for the wrong reason, you cannot enjoy your life. Only works done with ripe. Motors will be awarded a RB satisfying. Matthew six, one, three, seven. Yes. I said seven verses. Be careful not to practice your righteousness front of others to be seen by them. It doesn't mean that. People can't see you doing good works, but it means if you do them on purpose in front of them to be seen by them. Guess what? You have no reward. You get reward. So. When you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets. As the hypocrites do synagogues and on the streets to be honored by others. Truly. I tell you they have received their reward in full already. But when you give to the needy, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. What does that mean? I believe that even after we do something really good for somebody, we're not even supposed to sit around and think about how good we were. An. I read one book a long time ago. That says love stays in the shadows until it's needed and steps out and does its work. And goes back into the shadows? Waiting for the next two opportunity. When you give to the needy don't let your left-hander right hand is doing so that you're giving may be in secret. And Your father who sees what is done sacred will reward you openly. Do you know how hard it is to do something really good for somebody and nobody know but you God? You know why? Because the flesh craves credit It just wants a little pat. A little odd. I've told this story before, but it's been a while since I've told it so. If you've heard it again. Don't apologize you just probably need to hear it now. Probably. This has been over thirty years ago and I'm glad to be able to say that but it wasn't yesterday but. Anybody here remember those days when he's big Jesus rhinestone Jesus pins were popular. How many have you ever had a rhinestone Jesus Pin. Come on there's only three of us in here that old. Lord help me. Anyway they were a big thing and so. I was nail shop one day getting my nails done. There was somebody else in there getting there's done and they were talking about being a nurse in hospital and how hard it was to see people in such bad shape and not even able to talk to them about God because it was against hospital policy and. So I had this thought. That, was from God. Giver that. Bright. Shiny pin you were and tell her that if she aware that are uniform even when she lanes over patients a nice say the name, Jesus? It'll bless them and help them. But I felt like supposed to do it in secret and I didn't know how in the world I was going to do that sense. There was a girl they're working on me and Lo and behold the girl working on me said, you know what joys just ran out of a product here that I need. I'm going to have to run next door to the supply house and get it. So, God opened up the door. For me to get no attention. He made a way. For him to get all the Laurie. As, though I sat there while that girl was gone wrestling with myself. About ready to do it now are white until the girl came back. I'd like to tell you I did the right thing but I didn't. I sit there and wait at night even told myself. I might really bless her to see my generosity. Might. Be a good example to her and so she came back and. When I got finished I took the Pan and I took it over to the girl and I said I want you to have this I felt like God told me that if he would just wear it on your uniform and you know And everybody I got just exactly what I want all. That is so nice. You are so kind. That is so sweet. And as I walked out the door to go to my car, I heard the Lord Whisper my heart. I hope you enjoyed that Joyce because that's all the reward you're getting.

Emily Nussbaum: What I Wore When I Interviewed at New York Magazine

"For the most part all the women on this podcast were handpicked by me. On behalf of Glamour Women we find fascinating or nostalgic or brilliant or just women. We Wanna get to know a little bit better emily. Nussbaum was at the top of the list. Emily is the television critic for the New Yorker where she's worked since two thousand eleven and in two thousand sixteen. She won the Pulitzer Prize for criticism. Her voice is authentic and accessible and she's been described as a singular writer in two thousand nineteen. She released her first book. I like to watch arguing my way through the TV revolution. The book examines the changing landscape of television while effectively defending it as a medium with taking seriously it includes essays on everything from buffy. The Vampire slayer a show. That's been pivotal emily's life as well as the Sopranos Vanna Pump. Rules scandal true detective and sex in the city. Emily also tackles the question of whether a viewer can separate art from the actions of problematic creators in a timely me to ask a when I asked if she'd be willing to be a guest on the podcast. She seemed genuinely surprised saying she doesn't really consider herself a stylish person. I explained that the goal isn't to only feature quote fashion. He says that would be so boring. I'm so glad she agreed because our conversation was good so good in fact that we ran out of time and had to wrap it up just as we were digging into one of my favorite topics. Carrie Bradshaw not to worry. Though she still had plenty to say. I also asked emily to give her professional opinion on whether my mother and father were absolutely terrible parents for letting me watch twin peaks at nine years old which he happily did. Here's our conversation so I want to start by asking you. Which is what everybody that comes on this podcast. Which is what are you wearing right now? Oh I hadn't thought about this I I'm wearing black pants That fit well. Which is the difficult thing for me with pants. and I'm wearing some sort of gray tank top in a black sweater and a necklace that I really like that. I bought it a museum shop. That is where I generally buy jewelry And I don't remember where I got these things but they're kind of distinctive simple silver earnings during your earrings a lot. Yeah I like the erase striking. So I'm wearing good jewelry but I'm wearing completely neutral. What you wear to New York office kind of thing which is a black sweater and black pants. Oem Wearing kind of Nice sneakers wearing these these sort of Weird Green Corduroy Sneakers Love Them. And because the name of the PODCAST is what? You're going to talk about what you were when you interviewed for Your Job at New York magazine so I think this was around Two Thousand and three or two thousand four and at the time I was working as a freelance writer and I was writing for places like The New York Times magazine and doing both short pieces and long pieces. But I mainly thought of myself as a writer and Adam Moss who had worked at the Times was the new head of New York magazine and he was hiring new staffers and he called me to see whether come in and I thought they were gonNA call me to be a writer there which frankly and tells a different kind of clothing. 'cause writers are often shrubs But he actually wanted me to come in to interview to be the editor of the culture section. It wasn't something that I was sure I wanted to do. I was very ambivalent about it so I sort of winged it when I went in for my interview in a way that I don't normally for things and I'm convinced I got the job because of the clothes I wore which is true of almost nothing else in my life but I somehow put together an outfit. That was stylish showed my genuine uncaring about whether I got the job which is often the right combination for a situation like this and it was more stylish than I actually am so what I wore is dark blue jeans that fit right in for the period were sort of the right style gene because at the time they were kind of they had that sort of low weight but for for whatever reason I was actually pulling it off. Because I don't really have a body that works that great and that kind of jeans but I had good ones but the main thing is I wore. I had a a blue crushed velvet sort of waistcoat jacket that I had bought vintage that had silver buttons and my mom had given me these actually quite nice low ankle boots that were kind of a brownish yellow alligator skin or something that had stacked heels wouldn't stacked heels those two items actually looked good like they were distinctive. Strange Somewhat Bohemian. Downtown things and wearing pants always gives me a stronger sense of authority in a situation like this. I think I normally would have gone to a job interview honestly wearing an alien skirt a simple top jacket to try to look professional. But I think partially because I genuinely kind of didn't want to get the job or at least was doing it. I know that sounds almost disrespectful. 'cause it was such a good job but I was ambivalent embitterment about becoming an editor instead of a writer. So there's this part of me that was just like whatever like I didn't really rally right so I so I sort of magically managed to hit on this outfit. That kind of looked made me look way more downtown selective idiosyncratic and actively stylish and a young woman way and it went in and I have to say and like The other thing is Adam. My old boss and Hugo Lindgren. Who was also interviewing me They are guys who actually care about fashion in different ways and I walked in and I actually saw that they liked my clothes like this sounds stupid but the dumb way in which I was like. I've hacked this because so many things are stupid first impressions and there was this way in which because I looked kind of free wheeling and like I'm matched the part or something that helped anyway. I did get the job and initially said that I would take it for three months because we were just putting together the prospectus of the magazine and then ended up staying there for many years and Adam is an incredible boss. It all worked out. I never dressed like that again. I was GONNA say if he was hiring me in any way as you know perhaps delusional suspected that I was just sort of acting a role that worked for the job interview after that. I did not wear good clothes to the office. I did try to dress up a little bit. I went on a shopping trip with my I think he was. We were dating. I married my husband who's very stylish and has great taste and we were living in the West village and we went for this walk down. I think Greenwich Avenue had a couple of different shops and so I went out and I sort of went on a shopping trip to try to buy a few items. That seems like an editor at New York magazine would wear these items. When did you buy do any of the things were because I don't know brands but I bought some things that were kind of medium pricey and seemed like statement things I was never able to use them or put them together? But I do remember the first day I went in the office. I mean my entire impression of an office like that was like thirteen going on thirty hundred percent. I so I was trying to. I was trying to raise my game to ROM COM level which remind notion of medium also. Yes exactly the truth is I mean. People dressed in black in New York and a lot of people who are in fashion dress very neutral and the one time I ever wrote about fashion. I was really struck by the fact that I was like wait. This is not made up of butterflies like this is a lot of thirty to fifty year old women wearing black and like simple expensive chunky statement hearings or something. It's not a situation in which people are trying to stand out. Visually so are wearing off the runway necessarily says gallons and no. I think that's what people think of fashion back. I'm trying to remember what else I bought. And then at one point when I early in having that job I also attempted to have power lunch as a sort of a joke with a friend at Michael's and midtown because he's like a fun thing to do and on the way to that. I bought some bought some clip on earrings. That had on the way to the line. Yeah on the way to the lunch. I literally was like I'm GonNa like it but again it was sort of as a joke because my friend and I were like. We're now like media. People are power lunch area. They they were like strange. Chunky rhinestone earrings with red and blue stones in them that were round clip bonds rather than dangling or they were sort of you know punch in the face upper east side ish food jewelry of some kind so I remember. I stopped at the store. So those were my power. Close is basically what I'm saying for New York magazine. Are you somebody? Now that considers yourself AH shopper. No I actually don't like to shop. My husband likes to shop though so I often will go shopping with him and he will pick out things that are good and he's responsible actually for some of the best things that they own because I mean we'll go to a vintage store and he'll pick out something that I personally wouldn't have picked out because I'm just a highly pragmatic shopper. I just I find it boring. I don't like going through the racks. I don't like spending money and I also don't like searching for bargains so I'm like the worst combination of ten no India and I and I don't really enjoy changing and changing rooms and trying various things on and all of that kind of thing but I do like having some nice clothes so I go either with hammer or with my son. It's actually fun. I used to shop with my son when he was a little younger and then he would read things one to ten so that was fun. That's does he do that now? Yeah I mean he's he's we haven't gone shopping in a while I mean and also he's he's about twelve now so I don't think when he was eight he actually he's. He's much more interested individuals than I am so he he had a lot of opinions but he's also very enthusiastic so pretty much. No matter what I tried on. It was from eight to ten. So that's a good person to shop

Erika Jayne Gives Fans an Underwhelming 30-Minute Concert

"I was at Eric Jane's on concert in New Jersey and Melissa Gorgon was in vip introduce we talked and then the the show was actually thirty minute as long it was very short show no judgment everyone works through their art was it though like how much was each minute it I mean it was she did she has three songs that we love and that she has deep cuts what would and so don't you kinda call them deep cuts as though like when you know billy Joel this is classical music yeah it was so Melissa feel me getting tired in this thirty minutes set and so she saw me on losing steam and she started to hunt me to get me excited for the concert and honestly her hauntingly got me back into the show and I was able to finish out seizing sent out in the audience as sort of a fluffer she was in we were in VIP it was like there was like a separate set of people and it was like pressing she she knew I was like part of press and so she got me excited and I I think that that's the sign of a good friend and who sees some people not maybe not during the show I enjoyed the show she's reading energy energy for someone to lose steam and I'm sorry call your thirty minute shower it wasn't a great show it was tough expensive with a great number as it is I did number power to the songs because when I see feels very lacklustre through the screaming I could totally wrong she is great she had spent a lot of money on production yes so you always see the talent lies you really see the production the dancers are bringing it Oh it was a beautiful her videos are where she comes up cuts you know what I mean like for her to stand up for answer for thirty minutes it's like that's a lot of time for some artists well it's not like J. Lo where she's going to have amazing answer this that and the other but still the main event remains Jaylo yes it's almost she's overshadowing herself which is both smart but also there's a comparison you can't help but make yeah yeah yeah he songs I would not do a single hover no she did her deepest saw her old saw did she try to break it down at any point like where it's just like her in a Mike and just really yes so she has honestly a gorgeous outfit sorry it was honestly a gorgeous outfit she was wearing like rhinestone cowboy boots that were like Christiane something released and like a gorgeous robe I'm and she likes RAV and it's like black and there's like lights in there are no dancers it's deconstructed but it's doesn't sh- it's not the same like are they doing halo is the horse and that's that's the that's the Halo Lopez brings down I'm still I'm still jenny from complexities gorgeous just say though I think it would behoove Erica if any of her hangers-on are listening Mikey's rolling love I love mikey dolls I we work video that she bring it down put on the robe and do now we know how much do that way with her teaching because this is where the fans are coming from and she taught to read to do that and why not do it. did you not do it and also make it kind of like shade for on poorly APP reform exactly I think that would be a good performance I was really deeply invested in Erica she was a house that I latched onto the most and so this arc I am not on the train where do you find eric now I yeah well she just doesn't want to give up her soul to reality TV which is beautiful like that's a good person but it's not a good Riady the listeners across America or across about five states are longing in their cars right now because for the what we've needed all this time which is she doesn't want to give up Saudi television and for that I cannot forgive that is a noble worthy cause get off my teeth exactly makes her brave makes her smart but it does not make Kerr a lovable star and you know why I'm angry at her for doing that is because Asia has a soul to give up would you don't be she gave us that promise that she was willing to we're down her whole life and her life seems to be doing okay and I don't like
