"You'll learn about them later in the show and today our guest is a reynard also. He is the managing partner at agency rocket fuel and today he is going to teach us all about how we can leverage automation to grow our businesses and unlike previous episodes of automation reynards actually going to walk us through a framework the framework that his company takes new clients through to see how they're spending their time what they should be spending their time on and how they can optimize that so you as the business owner can remove yourself more from your business stop spending sixty to eighty hours a week on your business and do the thing that you started your business for which is have more free time but before we get into that i do have a quick ask for you. the build. Something club is going strong. It's doing well. We post multiple times a week In our community. And there's a nice back catalogue of extended content. If you want to get these episodes extended and ad free you can head over to build something dot club and sign up for just five bucks a month or fifty dollars a year. That's two months free and you will get access to all of the previous episodes bonus quarterly episodes in today's build. Something more rain. And i talk all about the tools that we like to use and the detriment will say of that tool porn right which is like switching between a bunch of different tools just to try new tools. So we'll talk about that and build something more again. If you are interested you can head over to build something club. Sign up for five bucks a month. No long term commitment required. If you try the first month and don't like it. No harm no foul for you can get two months or free by signing up. For the year you'll get ad freaks and episodes access to the community. deals on software and other stuff and much much more so again. That's over at build. Something dot club but for now let's get into the episode with reynard. All right i am here with reynard call so he is the managing partner of agency rocket. Fuel we're gonna be talking about automation today. Which is one of my favorite things to talk about. Reynard how are you. i'm good. I'm good thanks for having me my pleasure. Thanks for coming on the show. So i was checking out agency. Rocket fuel Dot com is your website. And you mentioned that you help agencies automate so that they can scale. So i'm i'm really excited to to hear a little bit about that. I'm a one man band. I rely a lot on automation Through zappia and stuff like that but before we get into that. Why don't you tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do sure sounds good so see. My name is hurt as you as you mentioned and You know the the business that we've kind of wanted to talk about here is some agency rocket fuel but before that came to be. We have agency as well. It's name is augment digital and really Agency rocket fuel came from our experience building augment digital as the agency. And just like you know figuring out how to do it. In the most streamlined way. So my background is in industrial engineering on. Which is the branch of engineering. That deals with Process and like more on the manufacturing site. At least when i took it But you know. I was able to translate kind of what we've learned there into the into the online space. As you know i got exposed online market thing in all these things then. Acid built out the agency or as a freelancer. At least start on. We do facebook ads on started to build agency. I was able to a lot of the concepts relearned Within the what you call this within that the program in university and then you they get into building agency. Making sure is very systematized with automation. All that on my business partner Swell was Book industrial engineering do back. Then so We both have those that background and we just wanted to see how we could help. A lot of other people were struggling. Do kind of like Build systems for their agency. built the agency rocket fuel. And that's kind of where we're at now helping kind of like other marketing agencies Streamline their their business through process automation ultimate goal of helping them achieve freedom. Right which is why. I guess everyone wants out of their business right So yeah it's a quick background on on what we do. Yeah that's fantastic. I love that because so there's a couple of things already here right. The first is that i love that. Your background is in industrial engineering. Which is not necessarily directly relatable to marketing. But i read a great book. Recently called range About how maybe being a specialist and only knowing about your field is not the best. But being having general knowledge about other things gives you different perspectives. And i think this is really great proof of that because you are able to take things you learned. Industrial engineering apply them to marketing. Marketing agency growth And the the other reason. I think this is important is because at least in in my space in my circles. I kind of made my bones in the wordpress industry In the wordpress base And i suspect a lot of freelancers have a similar story to mind. We think oh man. I can make money making websites. This is great so you just kinda go and start making websites and don't really think about the process. Oh well they'll just pay me be a pay pal and paid how money will be fun money And then i'll just. I'll just do whatever i need to do. Or whatever and and that's not an efficient way to run a business right so I think I think this is going to be a really great so So you mentioned that you were able to apply some of these concepts in built systems for the agency. You have your own agency and so it kind of sounds like your your dog. Fooding your own product here. Is that about right. You heard that term before. Yeah yeah for sure yeah. I think that's what's pretty cool because they complement each other and like You know I think it's that's the pay. Like that's why i'm the dynamic like us being so process or the gums out because even if they you know they're are sister in a sense We still act if agency rocket fuel is a client for augment digital of course we are in the ads for that company and digitize a client of agency rocket fuel in which the helps out with our systems right so even in that regard Still think a separately But yeah definitely allow defense of course any new things we both in the the agency side be shared through the agency rocket fuel deem any new things they find here we also share it so there's a lot of cross learning that happens because of how it's all set up That's how we keep up to date because a lot of things change quickly.

"Today is Juneteenth and marks a day and 9 18 65 when enslaved people in Texas learned of their freedom, and this year, President Joe Biden proclaimed at a national holiday. Reynard Smith of All knee is the descendant of slaves who learned the news in Limestone County, Texas in 18 65. And he says, according to his family's oral history each year, following that day, people would come to Comanche crosses. In their Sunday finds whatever they had that was considered their finest dress clothes. It would wear these clothes and they would come and they would pray, saying hymns. They would bring all types of food to eat, and they would pay homage to their relatives who had suffered and who had lived as slaves for so long. And during the initial Juneteenth celebration, many of them were former slave. So today it has all kind of political ramifications. Black lives matters in a way resurrected it. It's now a national holiday. But to those people, both still, though, second or third generation people who may be in their eighties and nineties now in limestone County, Texas, many of them are sitting down and say What's the big deal? These people don't really these people be in the United States and general. These people really don't understand Juneteenth. They don't know how it is personal to Juneteenth has now become politicized. They don't know the real story. They don't know the real tradition. You can hear Morris Smith's interview. A w t o p dot com by the way he'll be taking part in the Sandy Springs Slave museums..

"You try. To. Come back. It's Farren Talons. Indeed Clark Ashton, Smith the maker of Gargoyles. I really like that story and it has a history with me. But I I've got to tell you that snuck in an I've switched off the washing machine and the tumble dryer so much in having a washing machine tumble dryer in your recording studio. But the truth is the listener I don't have a recording studio. This is my front room. Switched them off for a little bit. Okay. So Clark Ashton Smith was born in eighteen ninety three Long Valley California and he died in California nineteen sixty one is insane too much gone outside California. But then who would if you lived in California? He began as a poet and road decadent overblown romantic poetry and he was on the West Coast Romantics like Swinburne and he was well supported and recognized unease youth as a poet and he was loved by lovecraft. And with Robert e Howard and of craft himself was one of the big three writers ultimately of the Weird Tales magazine Ray Bradbury was also fun and we've done a couple of Ray Bradbury Stories Am I. was recently reading Ray Bradbury's something wicked. This way comes, which is a very appropriate for this time of yet coming up to Halloween. And the language, there is very often blown and poetic Y-. I think either like the kind of language or you don't I was reading some reviews if action Smith stuff and some people struggle with his language and he is. Absolutely, answer lovecraft not anti lovecraft of the same school as lovecraft air to pope perhaps interestingly, this a little bit of A. Chain because Poe wrote, he's post of and he was loved by Shah's Baudelaire the French decadent poet who translated Poe into French, and then an clock Ashton Smith was a big fan of child Baudelaire in his turn. So this this chain of overblown decadence of them is it sense you'll essential. In any case this vein of sensationalist decadence comes right through. He was quite explicit that he used his language house. A calls it a kind of verbal black magic and it was to enchant with kind of incantation the using the rhythms of the words. So I like that kind of thing. So I appreciate that many people don't many people go with. The Hemingway and George Orwell's School of the bright plan. Right plan ladder I don't think either democracy spoke lined up in them can imagine if they did. They would. Yeah. That doesn't make sense rated and he he's got some great words vans for wings I thought they were Kinda sneakers, vans and ferron which have commented on my spellcheck I. Didn't know that either. It means feral its version of Farrell really savage an untamed and he's towards like trouble Asli and instead of sentencing TNC and also loo lubricants. I actually read it I as Luke Bricusse. But it's actually lubricates which is having come across before but there we are. So he began to write poetry from the edge with eleven and his first novel fourteen. He began to sell stories h seventeen to black count magazine. Amazing as influences were the Arabian. Nights. NECAS say the fairytale stuff. Talked about Baudelaire, we liked loved brothers Grimm at Gresham Poe and the Gothic classic such as Vasic. He was unwell for a period and we have this idea of these decadent sickly people. He was only sixty sixty one when he? No, we got married only sixty, but it didn't live. Up. Sixty eight. So that's not to answer. Depends on how old you are but do you think that's too bad or not? If he twenty Nassau too but If you fifty nine, you think but anyway, he got married at sixty one and set up his house in. Pacific, Grove with the Carolyn Jones. Doorman who was publicist and in Hollywood you know he he helped with her three kids. So it wasn't any nurse these parents when they were ill. So He's actually one of these guys who seems alright. Really he seems probably skeletons in the cupboard could have really gotten. He corresponded with Lovecraft, Jack London Ambrosius Times. Am One of the things that lovecraft does. Is With. The zillow mythos is allows of the writers and actually encourages a circle of weird tale writers to use these worlds and actually am they grow organically and they do not always consistent because obviously they're not going to be different right is using the inspiration and that kind of bothers people who like to codify things. So some people want the Casula mythos like the Tolkien mythos be very precise. The token mythos is only precise because tolkien wrote it nobody else but the Catholic mythos is like spreading tehnical based. UVA Roy, N- where this is set. Smith has various settings at one of them is severe on I loved this as a kid. I of all of them Robert e Howard I thought was a bit preposterous. I was recently listening to the HP literary podcast and you should check out because it's really really funny with Chad Five, Chris Markey and they did the coin of the coast by Howard and. But they had been stitches. And lovecraft I. Like. But Prefer Ashton Smith particularly operation they signed do with some medieval French kingdom surrounded by where will wanted forest. And I think the thing he did really well in the story is this religious panic and we've seen them in our own time I'm they and they go through history people get this idea that something is being caused by you know in this case, black magic or whatever the satanic panics the you know the blood libel that the Jewish people recused of these crazy ideas that people stopped believe and then panic and then take extreme action and get very because they're anxious. They are I'm not making any references to our own times about plagues of black magic or just plagues moving among us and making people very frightened and doing and making people kind of fall out with each other really. Anyway I again. Retreat from any social commentary. So the other thing about Ashton Smith is he is not afraid of sensual famous I. Mean there is a sexiest light sexual element with the what's the name Nicolette in this with her tight? Apple Green dress showing follow curves NARCAN. Imagine lovecraft Woulda gone into apparently. Ashton Smith he said. was formed of Female Company sensuality. So there you go. The other thing I wanted to say is there is a little bit of a character in this isn't the Almond Reynard. Visit this it is actually quite interesting. Man Reynard goes from being obliged to actually trying to make up for when he realizes what he's done by creating these Goguadze tries to make up for it and falls to his death. nicolette lives. So that's actually positive. So there's a too positive things. Reynard becomes a better man even though he dies and Nicolette lives. So some of the Horace wouldn't have those two tilt does two things.

"They came out Reynard drug at 20 Yards, get all way down the football field and take a 56 yard field goal. If those simple things the game within the game that they failed at all, son. How difficult is it, Dante for this? Not just the nine years, but for a team who I wasn't very good. Didn't have a lot of expectations outside the building yesterday or not yesterday, but last year Now. This year, they got the target on their back there kind of a measuring stick for teams. How difficult is that for teams to get used to every single week? Team's going to give you their utmost Physical effort and most mental effort. No, it's gonna be tough, but they're going to test you each and every week. You're going to get each and every opponent best effort. They're going to study you at the individual. They're going to know that you go cornerback and you have trouble with this router. You have trouble with this release. We're going to run out on you in the game as a linebacker. If you have trouble filling certain gaps or making certain reads, you're going to get those things. You're gonna get everybody's best shot. So that's why I said that they should a hill back on a little bit of a re Vance tour. We want to go back to the Super Bowl. Take it one game at a time handled like professionals each and every day throughout the week. Make sure that you put in the time. And let the plane do the talking, and you might have a chance to be back in a Super Bowl. You don't want to be the hunted and be talking like these guys have an incentive to come and beat you. Eric Davis. We talked to him yesterday and he said the exact same thing. It was the first thing you say we talk to us that that talk of running back the revenge tour specifically, is what he said. That needs to be done. It needs to be over with. You cannot win last year. You can't replay last year. It's about winning this year. I'm gonna ask you today. Dante a question Answer Davis yesterday and I think I know what the answer is, Since you two guys are former players. Did the lack of preseason have anything to do with the loss on Sunday on both sides of the football with individuals on both sides of the football? No. One in Arizona? Nobody else had a pre season. But do you think they had any effect on the Niners playing the eventual outcome Sunday? Absolutely, really. Game speed. You can't replicate that in practice. You can't replicate spacing. You can't replicate timing You can't replicate. Communication on the back, and there's a reason why you have training camp. There was a reason while hardball would put us in practice the ones against three of the left field on offense and defense, and they do the same on the right field. Just make us run as many plays against our number one our bread and butter coverages and blitzes and just go in and watching for 23 hours, because when you step on the football field, you have to have different variations and different knowledge and understand how to cover different routes versus all your bass thing. You have to do it older and over and over. So perfected and again to you. That's why the Niners secondary didn't perform as well as they left off last season performances. They didn't have that time to be able to communicate the things on the run on the run, and I've speak You know, as broad just said Eric. We had active are Dante Weed Eric Davis on and Eric Davis said he was surprised that Dante Pettus was still on this roster. What do you see? In with Pettus? He ran 30. He ran 30 routes. They threw him one ball. He got shut out on the day again. And also the late breaking story is Mohamed Sanu has been signed. What kind of impact do you think? Seenu? Khun! Make Do you think maybe you can make an instant impact, mainly because he played in this system before with cow Shanahan in Atlanta. Ready the X Y receiver. He's a big body. He understands the terminology. He can step on the football field and make an impact right now. As far as Dante Pettitte. He didn't have much separation. And when I talk about timing, I was actually referring to a route that he ran. It was a deep over out where Jimmy almost had him, and some people say he didn't give a lot of effort or whatever. I think it was just a timing issue. The backside corner was uncovered for the front side guy supposed to give good effort supposed to attract the outside corner and inside. Safety and that quarter's coverage. Dante Paris is not supposed to come inside the safety when he's climbing up the field. Stay outside of safety gives them depth, and you have a touchdown in the back corner of the end zone. So that's why they needed some preseason. That was his chance to get the ball. They threw it soon, but because of spacing issues, he have opportunity to go thinking to football. So I think that if they continue to give repetition continue to practice, and he continued to show it. He'll make those plays at the front side. Guys have to help him as well. I think that he can make some place for this football team. It's so, Dante. I'm going to finish with this looking ahead to next week. And they got the Jets noted. Jets get paid. They're you know, they got varsity jackets, too. But it's the Jets. How did the players look at it? Because you know the night you let one get away, But you know you're better than this team coming up. But you know, you have to be better. Not that you think we're just gonna walk in there and it's going to be easy. But it's a point human nature is to take over and you look and you go, man. We got the Jets this week. All we have to do is not do what we did last week is the Jets of the inferior opponent, and we should know about this thing one and one and let's get ready for another one another winnable game against the Giants the week after that, Or is that just me talking? I am a historical or you don't think I have anything to worry about, especially anything The Niners defense really had to worry about is mobile quarterbacks. They don't have a mobile quarterback right in New York, and I know that those guys will be hungry to get up this guy. Assed bars on the defense side of all, you have to look back at the history of couch and a hand and Greg Williams and Shanahan destroys his defense. Every time he speaks of family guy comes at you with all types of bliss is.

"Was something God like about Socrates that was beyond him, and it drove him stark raving mad. Oh, I want to interject a distinction. I think you know, like, for example, I was not way made to be a catcher in the big leagues or a lineman in the NFL, and I regretted that for decades, right? But the point is if I had become one of those things What would be up to me whether I became a morally good one or not? And so out of the bodies out sobriety was was very much made to be a leader. Johnson. our top with black friend of mine all across the country from every walk of life in there for maybe strive you gonna mad this your listening black folks are the most conservative people in the country we don't need to be persuaded we're already conservative we don't need to be convinced we are ready to combat that liberalism has destroyed the black family we need only being invited to become part of the Republican Party and the conservative little bit and so do you really think CNN or MSNBC are gonna put black like me on their course not so they create the image and the narrative that all blacks are majority of blacks are Liberal Democrats and is not true we on the conservative side have not done a good enough job and taken our message to the black community and extend the handset come join our team that's the issue right there that is very very intelligent man really because no question that family affairs behaviors the loft for their for their families flaw for their communities he's on the black community the problem I really think is the indoctrination the the community has in the assumption that they supposed to vote Democrat because the Democrats are protector all of the of the black community what is really an insult the black community doesn't need any protector what they need to do is to get better schools and no indoctrination and better salaries to be able to be free and think free and this is happening in this administration and he's on the label to see how fast the black community is waking up and in any ship pleasure to see how how intelligent they are how enormously committed they are how respond. well they are you you hire a black individual now he in the Middle East for oil ease effective he's intelligent and act in certain way that you go and you said this guy he's worth it and this is what they need well yeah yeah you couldn't have said it better dot and again all we need to do on our side is sick I mean the president because the talk to all the great economic news and what he's done for the historically black colleges and all the thing but the the deficiency is we have to have black hair gets all over the country to do your show radio TV newspaper to reinforce what the president's sample the bully pulpit of the White House it needs to be drilled it every day because you will don't sleep they said a prayer brand out his race is our homophobic bigot it every day every Milwaukee eleven moment we get laryngitis yeah but you know is becoming an over use hi purpose statement and the people start to wake up and they start to realize that this is nothing more that pure politics and they are not they be more accepting these terms they are accepting terms that far migliori into education better salaries and commitment to be able to be better is get them back in the in the black neighborhoods and then started going great with you I agree with you but here's the problem there's not enough for you the Republicans and conservative to say leave the Democratic Party we got to leave the Democrats I go where the party had to make it perfectly clear leave the Democratic Party and come join us we welcome you we want you we receive your bass the missing part of the message I thought this is there yeah I got a horrible job of communicating that record and make it be of a. thank you it's almost like your sales person you don't go into a company to sell your product or service what I'll leave it without asking for the sales staff I think. I think you need to you need to do this when I help on this you need to invite the their representatives to call to the black community the forums and sleep there and express what you are saying because you're right nobody goes there and the Democrats go there so we always have been one sided information in all these indoctrination and that's it so I think your your idea is fantastic but they need to be white Democrats in whoever easy part to representative all they the Republicans going to dollars to those meetings and sit there and listen and then they send them better and make them in this town also what we need them for right right so did I tell you what I'm going to have some the major news to announce by in next seven days or so all on a lot of the issues but I tell you if anybody can change the the the dynamics in the black community is Donald Trump by the sheer force of his personality and him bear so unconventional and him not listening to the establishment because I have been a meeting with people like Frank Luntz and they will set.
