"But with people stormed the capital and engaged in homeroom terrorism over and over. And our complicity law enforcement that the perhaps military defense complicity in this, There must be accountability. That's the democratic way. So I really am not so much in favor of a cool bike. You can't week or so days are over there many ways that we can bring this country together and heal. But it is not going to be in my humble in session by failing to prosecute and hold accountable those people responsible for one of the greatest breeches and modern times In the United States, which had made a mockery in the world that made a mockery of democracy. We are the laughing stock of the world. The ramifications are far reaching, so we can't just look at this. And a myopic sense of where we are the United States in the psyche of the Now we have to look at this from a world perspective and we have to Begin the healing to prosecution in my impression. Well, you know, in the first you rember doctor hearing. Then where were you back on Attorney Robert Portillo. And then of course, Reverend Jackson. Do every doctor here. E. Well, Good morning, Nancy to Reverend Jackson to all of your guests there. Number of Layers to the discussion I would offer A continuum of perspective of terms that we've heard over the last four years on. I think they're the continuum of what we would call whiteness when we say white. We usually apply it universally, but that's not how it's practice. You've got patriot. You've got rebel. You've got citizen and so as we having this discussion, I'm going back to the profound law journal article that Cheryl Harris wrote 20 plus years ago called Whiteness is property. Kind of the analysis of how the Plessy decision created. This notion of white skin is a property, right, but it wasn't a universal property right. It had Nevels to it. S so when we think about whose interest get advanced by an insurrection. You have those who participate in it. Then you have those who benefit from it. They are both linked and complicity in not only the mechanism by which it is carried out, but the harm that has done as a result. And so I think we can't just look at those who are on camera..

"So will you. What about that? What do you expect to happen? In this election. Reverend Jackson. Are you surprised to that? That. Do you think we might have a high voter turnout then? Reverend Jackson home hold, not one, but I don't think I know you don't mean that. Reverend. Let me uh, let me suggest that someone Well stop progress. Mrs Martin Mall, something vicious. Hell, just everybody. That's that's that's not leper, a small center protected right to vote. And then it's all right. Mr Biden issue turned drunk becomes a very big deal for us. Does. The one in charge of enforcing summarized is that area were also a certain considered reviving some rescue mission because the rescue mission As the building the whole hearings and subpoena power. You could go toe killing those concerning your brother. Tell Brandon Tell Isha Minnesota deal with George saw this shit. Even both Depression exchange. The property's front trying to do that. We must really fight for surprised. Emission, reverent father history here, is it Does Mary Berry bareheaded It has made me today It is hot in the shadow of itself, so we won't want to rescue mission restored and we will have some impact on This turns general will be here the whole agenda. Attention shoppers found on the lawsuits talk about today. Barbara Barbara in one school or real on the ground make it happen about tomorrow's the last day of both registration. Please, please. It's not Ricky's Richard about tomorrow and then boom side next Wednesday. Next Monday Thing is Run one has demonstration. All the crosses heads aren't there, So okay and Barbara have been well, you know what? Come on after Attorney C k Hoffler, Um, you Barbara on one, and you attorney Robert Taylor, Because you will all on the ground in Georgia. Attorney C. K. Hoffler gives an assessment of what's going on down there. Well, um you know my section let me first. Thank you, Santa and Reverend Jackson for this for this. Um, discussion about these issues. Georgia is on everyone's mind. And everybody is watching Georgia last for two weeks ago, um, transformative Justice Coalition. Rainbow Push Coalition and also Black Voters Matter Fund filed a lawsuit on behalf of the 197,000 voters that have been illegally purged from the rolls in Georgia. And then the Southwest Voting and Education project joined the litigation recently. And so that litigation from my standpoint is one the most significant. Piece of litigation pending and would really be a game changer, because if those voters that have been illegally and improperly robbed from their right to vote If those voters are reinstated, which is what we're asking the secretary of state to do. They would be able to vote on the run off election. That would really be a game changer because our analysis reveals that the vast majority of them are black and brown voters and young voters. And so there's that medication is significant. We are hopeful and we're prayerful right now, um, over. What will be decided There's not been a decision, and we don't really like to talk about the litigation too much While depending But just in general, we believe that that litigation is a game changer. There's also some litigation surrounding, um the closure. The perspective closure off a lot of the drop box locations, which is completely ridiculous to reduce. The number of dropbox locations. When we have this important runoff election, we believe as a number of form of voter suppression. We haven't intervened in that litigation we're on guy just might add that the National Bar Association lawyers are leading the litigation on behalf of Rainbow push coalition that sort of justice Coalition. Southwest Voting and Education Fund and black voters matter funds. So, um, we're excited about that, and we're considering intervening and other litigation because we just feel that we have got to put a stop to voter suppression in Georgia. It's just ridiculous and the only way to do that will lead to litigation. Nettle. A Tasha Brown called me this week over the moon, she said. You had to see Attorney C K Hoffler and action. She was absolutely brilliant. As she brought this case fourth Congratulations to you. Attorney Barbara Arnwine, Bob Meara. Chan's testimony about She thinks she can't closing argument Shit. Talk about the barber, Please. I'll take a what's magnificent. You know, First of all, we had the dream King, right? We had Gerald. Quick way had though, Jim Meier, we also had, you know, on our team of John. Mr Savitri had all these amazing lawyers. But At the beginning of the trial is getting of the hearing. The judge Woz compelled to recognize one member of that dream team will be, uh, who seeking Hoffler? And her magnificent have included be part of the legal team. And that was Fred. Great, Bernie. Fred. Great. The original Lawyer for Dr Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, They lawyer who helped to make sure that people could march finally over that Edmund Pettus Bridge. That of the lawyer. Speedy syphilis trial on amazing lawyer and Fred Gray was all that legal team he would there. It's part of the hearing. And we want to say that him because tomorrow is 1/90 birthday. Whoa! Yes, yeah. Happy birthday, Fred. Great. That's his perfect tomorrow. December 14th. So we were really just honored but that but that tradition that he started with picked up by C. K Hoffler In her closing, she gave up close. That people are still talking about all over social media because seeing laid down the law and pointed out that of these 200,000 people The state took off voting rolls. Will they hear me? They took him off the voting rolls. See, these people went through all the hassle all the headache of getting on the voter registration rolls. They have the state take him on because they said that these people have moved and they never moved. They all are at this same addresses and all. She paid an argument. And she said, if even one of these people It's the night right? The vote that a tragedy would have happened and I could see it in the face of everyone, including the suspected that they were taken by her argue with it was brilliant. Reverend Jackson. I want to get one thing clear. Voter registration is over. Enjoy. It ended last a week. Monday s so that's over. If you're registered in Georgia, you can vote. It doesn't matter if you did not vote for the primary. It did not vote in the general election. You are still as a registered voter entitled to vote. Or the Senate runoff. What that's happened tomorrow. That's significant is tomorrow December, 14th is the first day of early voting, right, Right, Right, right, right. It's a birthday of in person early voting and you will be able to vote in person from the similar 14 through December 31st. But remember that we're talking about George and we're talking about the Howard days and we're telling people vote. This week. Get your vote on this week. Both early. Don't be talking about I'm gonna vote because the reality is that Ghana sometimes turns into never Because you have the holidays coming up and people are going to get all into. You know, Christmas season and to all of the holiday spirit and people are gonna be consumed by their New year's resolutions by travel by, uh, you know, trying to stay connected the family on film and all the other headaches because of the Copan era. People are gonna forget about some January. Phil, You want to make sure the Jew vote early start voting in your state is vicious. Because it does not have mandatory Saturday. Voting on on Lee, a feel of the county are allowing our schedule E. Any kind of weekend voting. It's tragic. It doesn't make sense. I don't I can't even believe this is the state of affairs. But we have to make sure that December 14th just gonna shop and sell out early voting because that's the only way we do it. And that's why we will talk about it. Some more Sanpete about Todd Lewis. Good trouble March, we're gonna have all over your face. Getting tomorrow way are so ready. We are so ready for Georgia voters to show up. We are gonna be right there for years. We're gonna march We're gonna voter Kate. Okay, Period. We got a car care of in the booth. Absolutely. Absolutely. But you know what? Can Sanders beat Trump? A growing number of Democratic voters say yes
"Joining me now from Columbia. South Carolina is the legendary civil rights activist former presidential candidate. The Reverend Jesse Jackson he won the South Carolina Democratic primary in both one thousand nine hundred eighty four and nineteen eighty eight Reverend Jackson. Thank you so much for being with us on intercepted before we talk about the specifics of Democratic Socialism. What's your response to these? Red baiting attacks against Senator Bernie Sanders seems to me if Bloomberg wonder feet trump run against trump and republican primary. This race began a year ago. He said the first ten rounds of the fight. The U on the fighting you live with around. He's I people tied and broke it. Kind of runs. Rochon them GRANDPA's rule. Do not make sense to me and have a white primary voters. And then you have New Hampshire. You Have Nevada and soft. Lana you the bother South Carolina Michigan Illinois on the Front side as a New Hampshire number. One number two. I think that you also have a situation. Where different parts of Super Tuesday? We knew it to be from California one beverage in America's California warrant that Rhode Island in one day. Is that against people who have no have much money. If you had. South Carolina Nevada Michigan Illinois come Harrison Buca was seven chance in Castro. They got wiped out in white bread. Moore's exhausting this time in the Monday Super Tuesday. We run from California to Rhode Island in the same day. Rational person has adopted from coast to coast. Was that kind of money. Burned sentences shown where he can compete. He does well. What is going to be difficult? Tuition competing vote in fifteen states on the same day while and he's going to be facing this onslaught of negative attack ads from Mike Bloomberg. Who's worth sixty billion dollars tech and burn about ten some Nice about Castro mentioned Batista? Things have people in context. I mean Batista. Cuban scene rollins for the rich and the gangsters because we merges in that situation and the people he was authoritarian but extremely began extremes. So I'm concerned that even the capsule thing is seen as Democrat in the same season from Nineteen Fifty. Five thousand blast been lynched. Almost new president the thing about the the thing about it. You Know Reverend Jackson at the same time that we have these attack ads running against Bernie Sanders and this relation of Bernie Sanders comments during the period of the US dirty wars in central and Latin America you have this demonization of Sanders going on. Because he calls himself a democratic socialist. If I know my history correctly the late Dr Martin Luther King and of course you were with Dr Martin Luther King at the Lorraine Motel. You were there in the trenches everyday organizing in civil rights movement. Dr King also was red baited. Dr King also spoke of a democratic socialism and against savage capitalism. The operative word is democracy of one by the people we had democracy. And listen you. Cou exists democracy in women's right the boot coexist in democracy has denied the right to vote. So there's the socialize. The process helps here and job wages. I think they could choose. Those doesn't say Venezuela Cuba China in Bertha Cattle Roosevelt socialis rodent to polls the social security will almost the country subscriptions distance from rugged individualism Pool and substitute for the wealthy even today the socialism the rich true the have the tax cut deliveries and pay. No taxes does socialism in State Highway Socialism the military a social institution universities. The bridges supports ferruginous. Ruth Resistance Does always say now. Reverend Jackson it seems that on the one hand you have Bernie Sanders running against Donald trump you have Bernie sanders running against his competitors in the Democratic primary but I would also assert that in a clear sense Bernie Sanders is also running against the DNC. The elite of the Democratic Party's leadership and really arcane rules that you also faced when you ran for president particularly in nineteen eighty-eight that seem to want to give the power brokers the shadow brokers of the Democratic Party. The final word on who the nominee is going to be. What is your assessment of the way that the Democratic Party governs itself during these primaries and specifically regarding the Sanders campaign that will emission do rent puzzlement to the action? Mold stops all campaign. Burning represents a vast by people and destroy him to some unjust situation. Deportable will not be reconciled. They burn the inland war on on the same history in terms of sense of humanity and a sense of the projection legal protection protection there. Those who've been lockout talk a little bit about the campaign that was waged against you by powerful people in the Democrat Party when you ran your incredibly inspiring run for president in the nineteen eighties. "Back to the phone Jenny. Let's go to mama Mamadee in Chicago, mama d. Good Alleluia, grieving Reverend Al and greedy Jones of the Austin. I I was in. I was with Reverend Jackson Christmas, and we were at the Cook County jail. And they have they have a law. But but Reverend Jackson said fifteen billion is being spent on suspects waiting for trial. Willie Wilson no bail act sponsored by congressman. David. Deals with that. However, the Democrats shut down the government protect reparations doing that executive order. Non-citizens who cannot vote yet. It's eleven. Native Americas marching picketing protesting boycotts being bullied beaten and murdered. Fighting for the right to be a citizen in the land. And we can hardly survive. Yet, people can break the laws of entry in this country and invaded when you can't be anybody else's country. Without a passport we had to go through all NewSouth much. I was in Ghana with the boot we have to go through all kinds of changes to get a visa to visit possibly landed. Snatch slow so it will law. Knows how to apply to everybody. But if you want to get a real perspective on what's happening, Jordan. Jordan was served as a. S other reparations reform immigration whoever headed relation. The the immigration reform committee. She was the head of it. And I think she said, and she was there for I think nineteen Ninety-six until she died nineteen ninety three or tissue doubt. I believe the nineteen ninety six but she said that it would. Attention should be understood as a privilege and not as right? And she said if the the only the immigration laws unless there's a compelling national interest to do otherwise it shouldn't chosen on the basis of the skills that they could contribute to the economy. She said Luna partake uniform reunification of adult siblings of adult citizens solely because the family relationship is not a compelling. She went on to talk about that itchy would. She testified. She said that relatively low educated in heels may compete for jobs in public services with the most bonobo of a black native black Americans number last in all of the sixteen indicated, but yet they're calling this other group the most bottom about in in also they're calling this other group migrant migrant issue in the country illegally when there is a late them to enter and so baba, Jordan. She went on to say that employment. If you'd continue to be a principal magnet, Braxton illegal aliens to this country, simply put she said, if we cannot demagnetize our economy for usually aliens. Seeking jobs. We can happen. So illegal in immigration. We cannot control the elite. We could not sustain our natural national interest for legal immigration, and she said that if you come over here, and you getting services other than basic immunizations and treatment of common. Gee said he should be. But if you're legal Elliot's require other aid, it should be rightly provided by their own country. Everybody is it the woman who knew what she was talking about. And we have to realize. Native black American account. According to the Cook County board communities are in danger. So while we're doing all of this in but other people and put them in plot where we have been waiting all this time for our reputation, and we didn't have a reputation governmentally up development are released e education from preschool to graduate school, if you alien in that's worthy of the oh, congressman rush introduced a Bill that says, you can't say aliens alien were written in the dream that you gotta say undocumented. But anyway development are released e-education a alien Myers under the age of thirty one. I don't know who sells the and they thirty one years old, and they get amnesty from any crab is not a federal crime in the exam student loan when black people. Two hundred forty years. Couldn't even go to school could even learned to be the right? And if you do the numbers, I'm going to close it out now because I support American citizen, and I need people anybody else and already they didn't got this reparations that government league up with being told to pull out sales up, and so if just fundamentally unfair to make other people's privilege more than than our, right? We have had saga and strive who stole meaty century. I reparation I wanna see reparations. And and and if the wall, it's what keeps them out every country has a method to keep other people from invading, and we believe that love thy neighbor as I said, not love thy neighbor instead of. I self and just because you were saying that we have to do something to put the interests of ourselves because in Chicago, if you don't speak English, you have priority on jobs, if you speak English and Spanish, they pay you more money the corporations like McDonald's, I have been job hearing or people that don't speak English. They'd them ready to finish their college to finish their hearts. All kinds of things going on it is just fundamentally unfair. And we do have to push back in. We can spend fifteen billion holding people because they stole a login, and they had a woman that that willy Wilson candidate from mayor. He paid her bond and two other people's to get them out of jail. She stole a bottle of gin prisoners are waiting in these sales and having long time waiting. They said, this would've would've given you. So it's just not fair charity begins at home and not at the border. Thank you for. Let me go on and on. All right. Thank you for your call. Let me try to get one boy in let me get in Justice in Philadelphia Justice. Thank you, Reverend Al for taking my call. You are one of my favorite people in the world. Thank you. And I love everything you do man and greetings to you too. Mrs jones. Austin? Great to speak with you. Now, if Trump isn't removed. By the investigation and everything. Which I think is a good possible. He will be. But I think there's only two people I see wherever now who can defeat Trump, and they're very qualified candidates. If they decide to run one of them is you, sir. Reverend Al you already have ranted, you have great potential, and you have thick skin, and you wouldn't be swayed by Trump and his antics, and you would probably have some great tactics to fight him to defeat him. And my other candidate will be Cory Booker. I think he's got great thick skin as well. And I don't like to put the cart before the horse by saying, you know, like president and vice president, but I put the candidates out first. And then you decide that later, but I think you, sir. We'll be. Thank you Justice for your kind words, but you had to go with car if you only got us to. Days and do what I'm gonna do. And make sure that we help do we need to do in terms of Trump. And then keep the person that we do put in accountable or where they write in counsel them where I don't agree like I did with Obama. But I think I thank you for your call. Thanks, for example, the workers rights organized fighting everybody in many ways, the more they come this way. Gerrymandering the hit somebody whites. In the coalition. It to happen. But I mean Frank Watkins didn't use, but you know, LaTasha because this is where we all came in except you Trevor I mean all jokes aside, I 'cause LaTasha and I came in to first our first votes that we cast for Reverend Jackson when he ran for president. And it was such an exciting time about Frank Watkins is one of the architects of those campaigns of those candidacies. This was something that you foresaw Frank. But did you foresee the the shenanigans that mean these power grabs are you shocked by what you're seeing Frank? Frank watkins. Ooh. Well, that's okay. Look Reverend Jackson. Wow. Everything has gone. Well, we're gonna keep on quote Trevor are you shocked and Betty marriage. I mean, I I still think that the North Carolina case is just wild. And very interesting to me largely because we're looking at something that in other states was somewhat normal. I mean, I know there are a lot of questions that came out of people ask. Which is which is this morning. Wow. Keep on. Yeah. I mean, I in Arizona, one of the things that we did is we would actually as a campaign strategy would collect people's ballots at the door that was normal part of Democratic Party. There was doing in the next year. Republicans made illegal to do that. Because they saw Democrats were using it as a technique and a tactic to get out the vote the idea in North Carolina. I don't know how I don't know a word other than evil to describe what you would have to do to go door to door primarily to elderly voters and say give me your valid. I'll be sure to turn it in. And then taking it back to the candidates house. Surely checking it saying that they didn't vote for you and throwing it away, or as we've also it seems that they've been doing marking it for another person. And are candidate the biggest thing that happened? And they weren't all young people. I mean weren't all elderly people. There are a lot of young people, and they actually picked up the votes until wasn't necessary for them to sign them. But how they found out. What happened was when they checked the roles their votes. Their ballots were never turned in. There was a record that they got an absentee ballot. There was no record that it was ever turned in to anyone. And the lady said, well, he told me to go collect them from everybody. And I did it every day. And then I would take them to his house. That is illegal bet is a felony. And they also is going to jail. We want hopes. What does that mean? What does it mean? No, no. You could get away with a lot of this. And then people who you should get a rap on the knuckles. You have to go to jail for a long time. Like, this young woman who's got to go to jail for eight years and leave her kids for eight years, so ridiculous LaTasha Brown. We want to continue with you. I'm I'm here. All right. Let tasha what do you? What be? How is it that something in that North Carolina, and this ninth district that something like this can happen? John nichols. In the previous hour reminded us at our whole lot is happening. Did he reminded us that there's a whole lot? That's been happening. A Senator Lena Taylor from Wisconsin, Reverend Jackson in North Carolina, restricting cutting out really undercutting voting rights and trying to restrict the power of the democratic governor. I mean and on and on and on. But I mean what they're doing the night. What they've done in. The ninth district is. Well, it blatantly electric, this is electric. So here you have a democratic candidates. That's running Mark Harris. I mean, Danny Dan McCreevy, and then you've got Republican Mark Harris hires people know of Douglas, they know him. I've known to to happy. Hot. They hire him in. And he they hired him to go out and harvest boats, which is technically that's actually illegal and what Carolina essentially what that means. Is he active high's team? They go out door to door and ask for and collect absentee ballots, and when they get the balance of the ballot or not and then intentionally have been hardly lacking native American voters. So they get those balancing the ballots never get delivered. Or they get destroyed a somewhere they get bit in that process was really interesting is even though Harrison's campaign is saying is trying to not taking responsibility for when you look at their campaign disclosure there is it says in their campaign disclosure, that's thirty four thousand dollars thirty four thousand three hundred. That is actually o- this county for absentee ballot box. So here it is there so blatant then they're actually even on their disclosure, their bold enough to actually put that they've got money that it's old for that. Campaign disclosure folks to go and do harvesting absentee ballots. Under this circumstance. This election is a fraud. This election should be a do over. We shouldn't accept anything different. And while I think I think part of the process. I think it's really important to think about what I said is an accumulation. We're thinking about Winfrey traffic trouble. And there's been an accumulation on attack like little by little. That's why some of us have been fighting about voter. I people a big deal because what you think is both start unraveling democracy and start attacking just people having access to the ballot. It's noble. I go a little further, and they go further, and so what you've seen in. And.

WNBA Playoffs: Players to watch
"The WNBA playoffs have kicked off y'all, and this was a truly a historic season for women's basketball. I mean, I certainly believed the postseason will be no less exciting as we've seen in the first round of games. So guys, let's just skip to the finish line and tell me t- who you got winning at all and why? Yeah, I think that this is probably the toughest WNBA postseason that we've seen in a minute because every case, every team that's in it actually has a case for why they could win it. I've been on the sparks his bandwagon for a while because my city no longer has a team. The Detroit shock is no longer a team. So I've just been jumping back and forth. I know right, like and I was cool when they went to salsa as the Tulsa shock, because at least they kept the. Name, even though they were in a different city, but now they're the Dallas wings and I just don't feel comfortable sharing for another city like Dallas doing anything. So I just keep jumping around. Yeah, that was definitely a shy just. So I just keep jumping around and I've been on a sparks. His bandwagon for the last couple of years is I really just felt like they have been a complete team. They did win it, but now I'm really hoping to see a Connecticut Seattle. I just think that it would be the alternate number one, the autumn ease versus whether she can't get more easily. Connecticut can't get more west Seattle. So there's that then for me, there's the Yukon factor to see brianna Stewart and then super to see how that dynamic is. People here love their Connecticut sun, but they also love their Yukon huskies. So now you're actually giving the fans a little bit of a side to choose between the two. And then lastly, because our grow today, obviously she plays for the sun and she'd been missing for like family. So my dude, if you don't be missing for like fabulous rail, bring a championship. This. Nobody got time for that. I was telling someone other day that you're correct me if I'm wrong. But like this particular w NBA season just feels different than ones like years past like the regular season has been so incredibly height. It's being in a lot, a lot of well-deserved publicity. And you know now we're now we're now wanna w NBA playoffs which of course, for the past couple of years in been lit from start to finish and like in the NBA. Like what like we see in in sports just across spectrums. Like your postseason is where your, where your superstars become like
