Dan's Advice for Caller Conrad: Take Action Yourself!

"Alright, let's go to the phones. Let's take Conrad. Conrad, you're on the Dan Bongino show. What do you got for us? Yes, Dan, love your show. I called once before. I'm going to keep this short. We were talking a little bit about Republicans. I've been to the Republican committee office in Illinois in the suburb of Chicago. These guys are just, they sit around, they smoke cigarettes and eat donuts and they don't do a thing. Okay, now I realize they're blue County, blue city, but still they rolled over. They don't want to do anything. Okay, so if you have any recommendations on that, let me know. other The thing I do, everything go ahead. Yeah, Conrad, I got to take another call, but I do have recommendations and I want to address that. You know, my friend Ginny Thomas says all the time, we're the leaders we've been waiting for. Don't wait on the party to do it. You can go out and find a group that's actually doing stuff. You got Scott Pressler running around the entire country voters. registering Go look him up on social media. He's got an app you can download. You can go out and do this yourself. You sound like a very interested guy who cares about the process. You don't need permission from the Republican institutional party to do anything. So,

A highlight from The Economic Impact of Business Owner Outmigration

"It seems like our local GOP leadership, well, I'm not gonna say the conservatives, but the constitutionalists, they don't really care about the community. You never see community initiatives or outreach. And the Democrats and the socialists have that locked down. I mean, as much as there's crime and there's this and that, they're still out in the community kind of giving back. I mean, Mark Poloncarz was just at the Grider Street Community Center a week or so ago, giving out free hot dogs. And unfortunately, that's what people, the voters, the Democrat voters who do outnumber us, that's what they see. It's like instant gratification and they forget everything that's been done. And how do you defeat that? ["Oh, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa"] Hey, welcome back. Mike Lomas, Glenn Wiggle actually taking off, Ron Rheinstein in with me. We've got a special guest on the live line here. We'll talk a little bit about what happened last night. Erie County stuck on stupid again. The pain, the pain. Nationwide though, just not Erie County. Yeah, we're going to talk to an optimist in a little bit who's a workhorse here in Erie County, Nancy Ortecelli. But I got to be honest, I texted her this morning. I'm like, I feel like drinking. And it's like seven o 'clock in the morning. Can we take a personal day? Can we take a personal day? You're just so beat up. I mean, it's just, you know, it's like, you have to ask yourself, how could these people be this dumb? Well, how could you be this dumb? And it's not even rhetorical. Everything you've touched has turned to shit and you continue to vote for the same exact shit. It's just unreal. Because here's, this is just from a sleepless knife yesterday into today. People that left the cities, they're just like, I got to get away from the crime. I got to get away from the poverty, all the above. And their shitty voting has metastasized like a cancer in the suburbs. And it just keeps going and going and going. Well, they don't show up. That's what's so frustrating. Well, there's also that. I mean, you look at the numbers and it's like, how in the world do you not show up? I'm actually going through my phone yesterday. I'm saying, don't forget to vote. Don't forget to vote. Who's on the ballot? That's what I've got to think about. Like, how could you be that freaking stupid? I know. But the other, I mean, even if you look at an area where I grew up in Chictawaga and yes, the demographic has changed substantially since I left in 1998, but for the fact of the matter of the third world that has been imported, the taxes, the last county executive or not, the supervisor, she hammered two increases on the property assessments. It's back to back. Highest taxes in the country. And on top of that, the last one, because she's, again, the politicians, how they're just full of shit. Oh, that's our bad. You know, we're not even, well, maybe up for a second. Oh, we're not going to do another reassessment for two years and then literally the next year, here comes the next increase and all our bad, but we won't do it again. However, you got to pay. Yeah, sorry about that. And that's, and you look at the votes that were cast for supervisor. And I mean, again, how close it was and it'll go to recount. That's it? That's the amount of people that voted? Yeah, well, the GFP didn't do anything with absentee ballots there. So it'll go the other way. Before I forget, download our app, search Financial Guys Media in your app store and be sure to click notifications so you don't miss our weekly media drops. So don't forget about our app. Let me introduce Nancy Oreticelli. I was able to grab her. I know she's extremely busy. Nancy, what is your title today? Besides a miss of everything. I don't know, like, what is your exact title? You're everywhere, you know, constitution coalition, all this stuff. What is your, do you have a title? I mean, Antifa has called me a lot of things. So I know I work for an assemblyman, for assemblyman David DiPietro. I am on the executive board of the Erie County conservatives. I do, I'm the president of the constitutional coalition of New York state. So yeah, I do a lot of things. So that's who I am. I just, I believe in freedom and liberty and no matter what it looks like, I'm not a person who gives up and talking to a couple of people this morning, they're like, why do you sound so happy? I was like, well, I'm used to this. This is how it is here in Erie County. It's nothing new. It's not like - I know, you'd think all of us between the political environment here and then the bills and sabers, we'd be used to disappointment, right? We're like, let's roll out of that. Like, all right, I get it. Let me ask you, let's start out with the county executive race. I mean, what happened there? You know, you can't, first of all, he's literally, the cops are showing up because he's restraining a woman. We had people die in a storm because of his mismanagement. We had a record amount of businesses closed because of the way he handled COVID, right? I mean, you can't ask. And then he drops off all these illegal immigrants. They, 13 out of 50 of them get arrested and brought it up on charges. They destroy a hotel. I mean, it's like, okay, maybe you're not happy with Chrissy, but boy, you have to be some kind of a mental midget to say that's a good - And crimes on the rise. And crimes on the rise, record number. We don't want to enforce laws. Here's your appearance ticket. Yeah, number two in the entire country for Carstola. Number one is our neighbor Rochester. Number two, so what the heck happened? So people are misinformed. And it's like you just said, when you called and texted people and they said, who's on the ballot? Nobody cares anymore because it seems like our local GOP leadership are, well, I'm not gonna say the conservatives, but the constitutionalists, they don't really care about the community. You never see community initiatives or outreach. And the Democrats and the socialists have that locked down. I mean, as much as there's crime and there's this and that, they're still out in the community kind of giving back. I mean, polling cars was just at the Grider Street Community Center a week or so ago, giving out free hot dogs. And unfortunately, that's what people, the voters, the Democrat voters who do outnumber us, that's what they see. It's like instant gratification and they forget everything that's been done. And how do you defeat that? And I think the GOP needs to get out in the community more. I mean, they've had their get out the vote rallies that of consisted maybe 20 to 25 committee members. It wasn't the community. Do you know what I'm saying? And they don't - No, I get it. I was gonna say, but how - Nothing beats a good sailing hot dog. Yeah, here's your meat cylinder, go vote for four years and more tyranny. It's true, it's true. Well, that's, you're right. But the thing is, is, but then you take it a step further. You go fill up your car, holy shit, part of my life. That's even higher than it was a month ago. You go to the grocery store and our household, we do okay. But every time, between my wife, myself, and our two kids, and here's four bags, that was 300 bucks. Daughter, oldest daughter and my wife were down in Tennessee last week. My daughter was looking at the possibility of University of Tennessee. And she says to me, she said, "'Dad, do you know gas is a dollar a gallon cheaper there?' So I went through this whole thing about, you know, it's taxes. She's like, you're kidding me, just taxes. I said, yep, yep, that's the difference, difference between one state and the other. And every time somebody puts gas in their tank, it's an extra 30, 40 bucks here, as opposed to down there. So - So that's you and that's me, but that's not the urban voters. The urban voters are in poverty because of Democrat policies. But yeah, it's still vote that way. But they still vote that way because they'll come and give you free stuff a few times a year. They'll give you hot dogs. They'll give you backpacks. They'll give you this and that. A lot of them maybe don't have vehicles to fill up. Do you know what I'm saying? That's a fair point. But it's, you know what? Now that we're talking, Nancy, that also works against us too. I mean, we are top 10 in the country in poverty. Yeah, top three, I think. Per capita. Yeah, the city of Buffalo is, I think, two or three. Here's the, you know, our fair city. To your point, and I think you mentioned this, you know, the GOP will run on reducing the taxes. And Nancy, you said, these people don't pay taxes. That's true. That's not a problem for them, right? Although it is funny when you interview some of them, they actually think they do. They'll say, well, it's not fair. We're paying our fair share. Like, now you don't pay any federal taxes, and you don't pay any state taxes. If you look at it, and this isn't to be negative, but, and again, money's money. And let's just say they make $50 ,000, they're married filing joint. With your standard deduction, you're probably, you have $25 ,000 maybe in taxes total. Yeah, well, most of them. But that's what I'm just saying. And then you're probably getting a real fund. That's right. Most of them are public assistance. That's right. Talk about the women vote. I mean, you know, you look at other places, other parts of the country, and the women have really rallied together to really change things. And it just, you know, last night, I was really hoping that like town of Amherst, town of Cheektowaga, the women would step up and say, okay, we've got a guy who's clearly, you know, he's abused women. He's threatened a process server, a female process server that he's going to shoot her. And then the cops are showing up. I mean, well, I would think the moms would say, and it's amazing to me, I'm watching his speech last night, I'm thinking all these hypocrite Democrats, they're all, oh, believe the women, believe the women, unless it's a Democrat that can shove the left -wing agenda down your throat, then we don't believe them. So here's my take, two points I want to make. You know, talking about the women vote, I had a phone call the other week and somebody, it was actually Stephon, and he said, do you know a strong woman leader in Western New York who could do calls for Chrissy? And I was like, no, do you? I don't know any woman. There is no strong woman. I said, what about Lynn Dixon? They already had her. And I had thought about it. Mike, you probably remember a few years ago, I came to visit you. I wanted to start a women's group, but the coalition took off. And you know, if there's any women out there, women who would like to start a women's group, I'll help. I mean, I can't run it, but I'll help to get strong women elected. But there isn't. And then you have Moms for Liberty here in Erie County, but for some reason, the GOP will not unite with the grassroots organizations. Moms for Liberty have been phenomenal across the nation because the establishment has partnered with them. I don't know why they won't do it here. I don't get it. And if you would just unite, and it's the same issue with the conservatives and the Republicans, it's no secret we are outnumbered by Democrats. And so what happens with the conservatives and the Republicans who should be working together? The Republicans try to take over the legislature seat that was supposed to be conservative. You know, it was supposed to go to Lindsay Larrigo and they fought it with Jim Malcheski. I like Jim Malcheski and Lindsay Larrigo. They're both great people, but the GOP spent so much money on that primary that they had nothing to give to Chrissy to get her name out during this election because nobody knew who Chrissy was. And then they tried to do a party takeover in Evans where they switched a bunch of Democrats to conservatives, the GOP there did, to try to take over that party. And Ralph Larrigo did a lawsuit and the lawsuit is not finished yet, but the GOP candidate lost miserably. So they're focusing on things that should be uniting us, but they're dividing us instead of uniting. Look at West Connecticut and Lancaster. Those towns won amazingly for their town boards because the conservative committees and the Republican committees there are united and they work together. And I don't understand what the whole issue was with the Republicans trying to take out the conservatives this summer. It was baffling to me. So instead of focusing on Mark polling cars, you're gonna try to take a legacy away from a conservative candidate that it was already in the bag for them. You're gonna focus on a fight that was already a constitutionally minded candidate that was in there. It was a given, what a waste of resources and what a waste of time. That's a shame. Yeah, that's a shame. Absolutely. Well, the financial guys are here to help. I'd like to get you on the radio as well. We'll find that, hopefully we can find a strong female. That's what we need. You need the female vote. I mean, last night, the female vote shows up because Mark had been called, accused of holding a woman, I don't know, hostage or whatever. I mean, holding against her will, but they didn't show up. And they're like, God, that's so frustrating. The last thing before I let you go, the frustrating part to me and folks like Ron is we're in the business community, right? And so we're constantly getting involved. We're constantly trying to do our part. And sometimes I feel guilty because I look at somebody like you and I'm like, oh, I feel like a slug. But yeah, like, oh man, I really do. But the business community, I am just at awe this morning that they didn't show up at all. I mean, at all. How many restaurants did Mark destroy during COVID? How many gyms did he destroy? Now, some of these folks were strong enough to make it through, but I'm gonna be honest with you. If I owned a restaurant, I am never forgetting that. Now, I might be a little bit different of an animal because his picture and Gal Bernstein's picture would be on the front door and there would be a message that says, hey, if you're these people and you're walking in, do not bother, right? I mean, that's where I would be. But I get it. Some of these folks say, well, you know, I don't wanna be that aggressive. Okay, could you send Christie a hundred bucks? Could you put a sign out front of the restaurant to say, hey, just saying, I mean, like, not one. Well, that was the fault of the GOP, that they don't know how to fundraise. They really don't. And like I said before, their fundraisers consisted of just their own committee members. The public doesn't want anything to do with the GOP because the GOP has alienated them. Now, Michael Crocker is a good guy. I've met him. I've worked with him. He's really good, but he's got a lot to fix from the previous leadership. And yeah, I wouldn't want that job. I know. I know. You know what? It's funny you said that because I was talking to Glenn about it and Glenn's like, oh, they needed this. The hardest part about that is so many people have left. When you look at, and I'll say for America, I think it's a great thing, right? I mean, Florida is gaining delegates. New York is losing delegates. Florida had a $21 billion surplus. New York is going to go bankrupt at some point. I don't know when, but the math doesn't work, right? You cannot have the, and the 25 % of people that have left, they're all the top taxpayers, right? They're the ones paying the bills. Mike, this all sounds racist. Stop. That's right. Math is racist. But I mean, that's, even if the people that leave and, you know, from clients and friends and family that are in these Southern states, they still care, but they got up and left. Oh yeah. I mean, it's just - Well, they're not voting, right? They're not participating. Even if voting, but like, even if they've sent a check, like you said to Chrissy, but that's just the whole thing. They're gone. They're gone. I know, but you have, for the people, and I guess maybe this is where my deficiency comes with this, is that I'm like occupying common sense, I guess, way too much. But how the hell do people, again, you look at this, this sobering statistics or drive around the area, what the hell is coming here? Nothing. What is leaving here? A lot. A lot. What is beneficial that is derived from low -T polling cars? Let's just go over the last five years, the scandemic. How many people were affected by that? And how many businesses were lost? How many people, again, how many people have been Vax injured? Because, well, I can't go to the Bills game or the Sabres game, but seriously, I'm gonna roll up my sleeve. You were able to see the playoffs wave, but now you got my old car died. Or, again, my employer's forcing me, because this shit bag in City Hall is following crime wave Kathy, or Andrew, I killed your grandmother, Cuomo. Then you take it further. How many people died in nursing homes alone? One of my best friend's sister died in a hospital alone. Why is that, you may ask? Oh, because she tested positive for the Wuhan sniffles. Yes, I know. And these stories are out there. Yeah, I know. And yet there is zero messaging. And this is from Chrissy. This is from the GOP. This is from any Republican candidate that you can absolutely, and again, voting aside, fundraising aside, but if you got that message out there, debt would resonate. You need money to do that. You do, which is fair. And you need lots of it. I said from day one, I said for Chrissy to win, she probably needs a million bucks. And I think that's a fair number. And I think she got a total of about 150 ,000 from the business community. She was well, well, well underfunded. And I don't know, I was down there last night, I don't know if you got a chance to see her speech last night, but you could tell she cared. There was a few conservatives are sending messages, oh, she can't cry. I'm like, bullshit, she can't cry. She can do whatever she wants to do. You have the stones to step up. Then I was able to see her in the hallway before I said, Chrissy, that she's like, oh man, I feel like a failure. I said, Chrissy, I said, there's a million people in this freaking town, a million people. Do you know who was the only one that stepped up against this piece of shit, Mark Poloncarz? You. So don't let anybody ever tell you that you shouldn't do what you wanna do. There are so many armchair quarterbacks that oh, I should have done this, should have done that. I'm like, Chrissy, you're the only one. Guess what? Mike Lomas could have ran. I could have ran. I could have signed up. I didn't. Now - I feel like I told you to.

A highlight from Why Post Malone Is Against CBDCs

"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, N .L .W. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys, it is Friday, August 11th, and today we are talking about everything from an SEC appeal to post Malone discussing CBDCs. Before we get into that, however, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link in the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. All right, friends. Well, at the end of this week, I got called away for some urgent, very quick travel, and so I've had to scramble my schedule a little bit. Given that, you can kind of think of today's episode as a little bit of what the weekly recap normally does, doing a sort of grab bag show of a bunch of things we haven't had a chance to talk about yet, and tomorrow I'm doing sort of a hybrid of Long Read Sunday and a weekly recap where I read a couple essays that I think were about the most important things that happened this week. Then Sunday you get a throwback Long Read Sunday that is really fun. And anyways, all of this is my way of not having to deny you shows as I traveled. So with that, let's get into this grab bag and where we're going to kick off is with the SEC and Ripple. The SEC has indicated to the court that they will seek to appeal last month's Ripple decision. If they are allowed to proceed, the regulator will ask the court's permission to appeal the parts of the decision which went against them. In a letter to the court, the SEC indicated that it would appeal, quote, the courts holding that defendants programmatic offers and sales to XRP buyers over crypto asset trading platforms and Ripple's other distributions in exchange for labor and services did not involve the offer or sale of securities under the Howey test. Now of course, you'll remember that last month's decision found that direct sales of XRP tokens to institutional investors violated securities law, while sales to retail investors through exchanges did not. This is obviously a major significant moment when it comes to the question of whether tokens are securities or not. It's so significant, in fact, that some congressmen have suggested that the notion at the core of the decision, which is that tokens can be offered in a sale that constitutes a securities offering, but that that doesn't necessarily make the tokens themselves securities, should be named after the judge who made that doctrine, i .e. the Torres doctrine. Anyways, the point is this was a big deal. The SEC are requesting what's known as an interlocutory appeal. That's an appeal that occurs over a decision partway through a legal case before it is fully decided. The regulator claimed that dealing with the appeal at this stage could save the court from dealing with two separate trials in the future. The SEC proposed that they could file a brief outlining the appeal in more detail by next Friday. Ripple has the right to respond to this letter and will similarly be able to respond to a full brief. Now separately, the judge has laid out directions for Ripple and the SEC to schedule a trial date in Q2 of next year. The trial will deal with the outstanding matters from last month's order, specifically the allegation that Ripple executives aided and abetted the company in breaching securities law. This trial will not reopen any of the issues that were already decided last month. The SEC is expected to ask for the trial to be postponed until the appeal is dealt with if they are successful in their application. Now Bloomberg senior litigation analyst Elliot Z. Stein gave a little bit of context about what happens next. Stein wrote, That of course brings up the question, will it actually happen? Paradigm policy director Justin Slaughter says he thinks yes. He tweeted, It's odd they waited until the trial schedule to appear, which is why I thought no interlocutory appeal was coming, but that likely won't prevent Judge Torres from granting the appeal request. Former lawyer Scott Chamberlain thinks the opposite. He writes, Judge Torres denies the request. She studiously avoided new law. She found the token is not the security, accepted the SEC's characterization of the transaction buckets to be analyzed, and simply applied Howie and its progeny to the SEC's chosen buckets. SEC failed because the undisputed facts didn't support all the Howie prongs for two of its three chosen transaction buckets, not because Judge Torres shifted the legal goalposts on the definition of those prongs. So next up, we're waiting to see if Judge Torres grants this request. Next up, Representative Maxine Blow a Kiss to SBF Waters is apparently concerned about PiUSD. On Wednesday, Representative Waters released a statement regarding the PayPal stablecoin announcement. She wrote that she was, PayPal instead, of course, chose to launch the stablecoin under the regulatory framework and supervision of New York State. Waters implied that the state regulation is inadequate compared to as yet hypothetical federal regulations. She wrote that, quote, Now, Waters is, of course, the ranking Democrat member of the House Financial Services Committee and has been in charge of negotiating stablecoin legislation over the past 15 months. The Republican sponsored stablecoin bill was finally passed by the committee during a tense hearing last month. In that meeting, Waters voted against the bill, but several younger Democrats defected from their party line to vote with the Republican majority. The stablecoin legislation is now eligible to be introduced for a vote on the House floor. Waters key issue with state regulation is that it removes the Fed as the final arbiter on stablecoins. During debates around the stablecoin legislation, she had said, The Republican bill undermines the Fed's role as our central bank, making it harder to protect the economy against inflation or support maximum employment if stablecoins are broadly adopted. Now, of course, Republican committee chairman Patrick McHenry does not share Waters concern that putting dollars on a blockchain will threaten to collapse the power of the strongest central bank in the world. On Monday, he remarked on the PayPal announcement by saying, This announcement is a clear signal that stablecoins, if issued under a clear regulatory framework, hold promise as a pillar of our 21st century payment system. In her statement, Waters also suggested the Republican bill had slim chances in the Democrat -controlled Senate urged Republicans to, quote, come back to the negotiating table to craft a bill that actually works. Now, Twitter response on this was about what you would expect. Castle Island Ventures partner Matt Walsh said, Maxine Waters is, quote, deeply concerned that PayPal chose the NYDFS path versus the federal path. Federal path for issuing a stablecoin literally doesn't exist. What planet are we on? Austin Campbell tweeted, Politician blocking federal legislation concern company did not file for federal license that doesn't exist because of said politician blocking legislation. You don't get to burn someone's house down and then call it a fire hazard. Next up, crypto infrastructure firm Fireblocks have disclosed a set of vulnerabilities which they are referring to as Bitforge, impacting a number of popular crypto wallets. The vulnerable wallets use multi -party computation or MPC technology, which is typically used in advanced user -facing and custodial applications. Fireblocks are classifying Bitforge as a zero -day vulnerability, meaning that it hasn't been discovered by the developers of the affected software or hackers in the wild. Coinbase, Zengo, and Binance have all collaborated with Fireblocks to fix the vulnerability within their custody systems. What's more, Fireblocks have said they reached out to other teams that might be impacted in accordance with a 90 -day responsible disclosure process. The biggest worry is that this vulnerability was found in MPC wallets, which are intended to be some of the most safe wallet designs in the world. Fireblocks said in a statement that, If left unremediated, the exposures would allow attackers and malicious insiders to drain funds from the wallets of millions of retail and institutional customers in seconds, with no knowledge to the user or vendor. Fireblocks characterized an attack exploiting the vulnerabilities would have been practical. They highlighted that the complexity of the vulnerability meant it was highly unlikely that a bad actor would have discovered the issue in advance of Wednesday's disclosure. Now MPC wallets add an extra layer of security by re -encrypting a private key and splitting it into multiple parts to be stored across multiple devices. The intention is that no single trusted device can access the crypto wallet without assistance from additional trusted parties. The Bitforge vulnerabilities would have, allowed a hacker to extract the full private key if they were able to compromise only one device, which of course would have undermined the entire multi -party security design. Overall, the whole process seems to have been a win, at least in the sense that this was discovered before it was exploited. Still, it's just a reminder that even when it comes to self -custody, things are scary out there. Now let's close with a little bit of a whistle -stop tour in the world of CBDCs. In the UK, the Bank of England has set up an advisory group for its central bank digital currency as it enters the design phase of the project. The British CBDC, which is still not officially referred to as Brickcoin, will be designed with help from a panel of experts across finance, economics, business, and more. The BOE said of the academic advisory group, In February, a consultation was conducted on the digital pound, which concluded in June. The BOE plans to run its own experimentation and design phase over the next two years, according to people familiar with the matter. The BOE will also be recruiting members for its CBDC engagement forum, which was set up to help it, quote, No word yet on whether the Orwell estate will be consulted on the CBDC design. Moving over to Russia, that country will enter a new stage of its CBDC program next week with real -world testing across 13 banks. A law authorizing the issuance of the digital ruble was signed into law last month, while the Russian central bank's testing and design process has been ongoing for over a year. In Wednesday's announcement, the central bank said, quote, The deputy governor of the central bank said that citizens should be able to access the During this pilot phase, 13 banks will test the digital ruble with a select group of their clients. The testing will focus on digital wallets, peer -to -peer transactions, purchases of goods and services using QR codes, and simple automated payments. The central bank announcement said, Now, lastly today, both on CBDCs and in general for our show, pop star Post Malone spoke extensively about what he saw as the dangers of a US CBDC in an appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast this week. Now, rather than me summing it up, let's just listen to a clip from that exchange. Apologies in advance and listener beware for the colorful language. I decided it made more sense to leave it and warn you than to censor Joe and Posty. So how do you feel about the government's digital currency that they're working on? No fucking way. No way. That's what I think. I think that's checkmate. That's game over. That is fucking checkmate. Because if they apply that to a social credit score, if they decide somehow or another that you need some social credit score system and it's for the benefit of society, and they outline that they can track your behavior and your tweets and all your things, you get a score. Already doing that. They just haven't released the fucking report cards. Well, they don't have the kind of freedom that they'd like. They didn't send the report cards home to the parents yet. Everything already is imprinted. Everything is already tracked. Everything is already there. But they just can't control you to the same extent that they would like. What they would like to do is to be able to strip you of your money and to be able to lock you down and then make sure that you comply so that all the other people also comply because they don't want to be stripped of their money. They don't want everything they work for just be taken away instantly overnight and be powerless. No one to call. No one's going to answer your phone. They just decided you fucked up and the rules are the rules and so then where does that money go? Who takes your money? When people start profiting off of confiscating people's digital currency, it's going to be a real fucking problem. It's not all fucking currency is digital. Yeah, but the idea of them controlling all of the money. And it's all unilateral. It's all the same fucking thing. That's a problem. And here's the problem I think is that people are going to do it due to convenience of it. Now one strain of commentary that I saw around this was Bitcoiners being flustered that neither of these guys mentioned Bitcoin. And while I understand where they're coming from, boy is that the wrong takeaway from this. Post Malone has 31 million followers across Twitter and Instagram. He's one of the biggest musicians in the world full stop. Rogan gets 11 million listeners per episode on average, even when it's not a huge celebrity. I think in a lot of ways this conversation about the concerns that come with the central bank digital currency is going to resonate a hell of a lot more for a lot of people given that there wasn't some specific coin solution being shilled. Now of course for us Bitcoiners, we know we have a preferred alternative, but you have to think if we're playing the long game, having people be bought into the fact that there might be a problem here is much more important than forcing them to adopt a preferred solution right away. So to the extent one cares about this set of issues, I think this was a pretty seminal pop culture moment, even if orange coin wasn't on set. Anyways guys, that is going to do it for today's episode. I appreciate you listening as always and until tomorrow, be safe and take care of each other. Peace.

Now 16 after the hour, I'm John Trout, America in the morning continues. Special counsel John Durham was grilled Wednesday on Capitol Hill. Correspondent Clayton Neville reports Republicans and Democrats clashed during the committee hearing. The House Judiciary Committee heard testimony from special counsel John Durham regarding his 306 page report on the Russia probe. It was released in May the and FBI said that should have launched a preliminary investigation into ties between former President Donald Trump and Russia before going straight to a full investigation. He also alleged there was a double standard in the investigation of foreign interference on Trump's campaign and then Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's. He told the committee this week that his investigation didn't have a political agenda. The extent that somebody suggests otherwise, that's simply untrue and offensive. Republican committee chairman Jim Jordan said Democrats won't be impacted much by the findings. Once again, the Democrats will say we don't care. It doesn't matter. We're never gonna stop going after President Trump. And ranking member Democrat Jared Nadler accused have a political agenda. I understand that, like the former president, many MAGA Republicans had a lot riding on the Durham investigation. But that is no excuse for making up. things The hearing at times turned into a display of partisanship with some members trying to redirect attention to the details of the report. Congress Grills Gensler on Anti-Crypto Stance

"Yesterday was for so many of us, akin to the Super Bowl of crypto regulatory action. It was the long awaited verbal comeuppance for the industry's number one antagonist. Yes, yesterday SEC chair Gary gensler sat in front of the House financial services committee for a grueling four and a half hour oversight hearing. Now, gender last appeared before the House in 2021, although he did appear in the Senate for an oversight hearing in September of last year. Ahead of the hearing notable Republican committee members, including GOP whip Tom emmer, and representative Warren Davidson, expressed deep misgivings about how gensler has been running the regulatory agency and foreshadowed a tough interrogation. The hearing covered a broad range of regulatory changes that have been introduced during gensler's tenure. This includes climate change disclosure requirements, proxy share ownership and major market structure reforms, all of which were seen as regulatory overreach by House Republicans. Since gensler came into office, he has used the agency's rulemaking power at an unprecedented level, introducing 53 new rules in the two years he's been in office. That's more than twice the amount introduced under each of the two previous SEC chairs. Of course, it seems odd, given that one of the key issues the crypto industry has with the SEC is ignoring proper process by avoiding the rulemaking procedure when making changes. But in broader financial markets, gensler is viewed as being far too prolific in changing the rules. He's seen as often speeding through the public comment process and increasing compliance costs for public companies with these plethora of new rules. Now, despite all of those issues being raised, the focus was undeniably on the SEC's recent rampage through the crypto industry. Republican committee chairman Patrick mchenry got right to the point in his opening comments. Which criticized the SEC's approach to regulating digital assets. But Henry said, under your leadership, the SEC has brought nearly 50 separate enforcement actions against digital asset firms. At the same time, you have refused to provide clarity on whether digital assets as part of an investment contract are subject to securities laws, and more importantly how these firms should comply with those laws.

"Also the same talk show host, Jeff kuhner was talking about there's a woman who's now come out and said that Biden raped her while he was a congressman. Tara Reid remember the woman's name. Her name is Tara Reade. And that came out before the election, but she was hushed. Nobody paid any attention to it. The media just silenced her and the Democrats would not, she wanted to speak in front of Congress, Democrats wouldn't let her do it. And so she never got to tell her story, but she apparently now is speaking with one of the Republican committees.

"Of the Erie county Republican committee in October of 2022. He has spent his career in service to the Republican Party, a former executive director of the Erie county GOP. And senior congressional aide Michael has served in the Republican leadership positions at local state and federal level. I think you're still with rob ort, right? That's correct. Yeah, I work for the senator as senior adviser. Senior adviser, that sounds really important. So anytime we throw senior, and that's what happens in the financial world. It's funny. I won the title promotion, but what that amounts to at home. Glen and I, we started out the business at a company called paine Weber. And the deal was as you were either a regular adviser or that you were a vice president. And so a lot of my buddies, one of our buddies got that title of vice president. I'm like, so let me get this straight. If the president dies, you go up there, do you go to New York City and run this place? No, there was like so many. I don't think that's I don't think that's our chain. Unfortunately. So let me start with a question. I know Glen's got a bunch free as well. The Republican Party, at least for me, has been something that has been fading in the distance. I'm still a registered Republican. I talk about actually de registering and moving to being an independent or a conservative. To me, I see the Mitch Morris out there. I see the Mitt Romney's out there. And I just get sick and tired of, well, hey, we're going to have smaller government and lower taxes until we get into office. And then our big plan is better than their big plant. Where is the Erie county Republican Party? And I know this shit show is new to you. And I'll just say you don't have to say that, but I think you've been handed a pile of shit and God bless you for stepping up because I either you're highly medicated or you're extremely extremely brave to take that position. But where is the Republican? Where is your economy Republican Party? Because we glad I been talking about this for years. They all tell us their conservative.

Governor Kathy hochul says the decision isn't just reckless, is reprehensible. Heaven help us. If that's what they're going to continue doing with laws and having us go back to that time in history, unrelated to the current circumstances where we have a gun violence crisis on our hands. New York mayor Eric Adams echoed governor hochul's remarks. We can not allow New York to become the wild wild west that is unacceptable. Many are Adams says the decision ignores the shocking crisis of gun violence every day engulfing not only New York, but our entire country. Former New York mayor Bill de Blasio. Our law enforcement officials for decades have believed this kind of approach these strong gun safety laws are particularly important in a place like New York and the Supreme Court just really spit in the face of law enforcement. is Bloomberg Nathan Thank you Michael It is 5 19 on Wall Street live from the Bloomberg interactive broker studios This is Bloomberg daybreak and for more on last night's first prime time public hearing for the house January 6th committee we are joined from our Bloomberg 99 one studios in Washington D.C. by Bloomberg Washington correspondent Joe Matthew the host of sound on Here on Bloomberg radio Joe good morning The committee is starting to lay out the timeline the case for why they say the threat to democracy from January 6th is still with this country What stood out to you from last night Well it was just the opening salvo I'm deeply curious to hear and see what we're going to learn over the course of what will be about a half dozen hearings Congresswoman Liz Cheney was going out of her way not only to reveal information last night and start that timeline Nathan but also to preview that there will be much more coming up The final hearing is also at this time scheduled to air in prime time That'll be a couple of weeks off And some of what we heard last evening from Cheney as well as Benny Thompson the chair of the committee had already leaked It was already out there including reports from within the west wing about the president's tacit approval of the attack his suggestion that vice president Mike Pence deserved to be targeted by the mob But we saw new footage from the attack courtesy of a documentarian who was actually one of the witnesses last evening and Nathan had just brought back visceral memories of January 6th and reminding us how much abuse that law enforcement took that day Some of the some of the body cam footage the first hand the personal view from the police was remarkable Also important to hear from the highest ranking officials in the Trump White House from their testimony the committee shared clips of former attorney general Bill Barr describing telling Donald Trump that claims of fraud were BS he used the actual word Trump's daughter Ivanka saying that she respected and believed the AG we saw Jared Kushner as well referring to The White House counsel's threats to resign as simply whining Now look Republicans call this effort illegitimate and unconstitutional They are not buying this but members of the panel including two Republicans Liz Cheney and Adam kinzinger say they will prove coordination if not conspiracy to overturn the election and they say it all began with a White House meeting December 18th Donald Trump Rudy Giuliani Sidney Powell and Michael Flynn all in one room Before White House officials even heard that was going on they came in to try to get things under control It was about an hour after that meeting in which they discussed the military seizing voting boxes and so forth that the president sent the tweet inviting people to Washington January 6th in which he said it's going to be wild Yeah and I got to say one thing that stood out to me from last night's video footage that aired from that documentarian Joe is protester reading out a tweet from president Trump against Mike Pence through the bullhorn in real time sort of like in the impression that the former president's comments in real time were egging the mob on That's exactly what they want to present here and that came from a pre produced video We knew that this would be part of the presentation They actually hired a former president from ABC News to help put this together so you're actually seeing the tweet from Donald Trump on the screen while hearing as you're saying this guy in a megaphone reading it out out loud to the mob at the capitol that day and of course then we saw the images of the gallows that had been erected Nathan it's almost like something from a bad dream A very beginning of these hearings series As you mentioned Joe but the question I guess is whether recounting January 6th is going to break through with voters who right now are really focused on inflation And we're going to get the data again this morning that shows that inflation is still with us Well that's right And that's exactly what Republicans will tell you so that while this panel is conducting its work that they say is in an illegitimate fashion they're not acknowledging the issues that actually impact Americans right now The White House of course is acknowledging that And the president has been speaking to the inflation issue on a daily basis In fact he's going to be at the port of Los Angeles later on today Nathan for that very issue as he's spending time in California for the summit of the Americas So you're right about that It's very difficult to tell right now for one hearing how much of an impact this might have on people but it also could act as simply galvanize existing beliefs that people already have You saw in our last 30 seconds here Joe what are you going to be looking for What's the one thing you want to see from the hearings that are coming up later on Well I think it's one thing to go to go through what happened and the connecting of the dots is going to be very important here that they say they can prove with information we haven't heard or seen yet But we want to hear more about the existing threat to democracy not just what happened on January 6th that day But what could happen in this coming election or in 24 And whether this committee can get its hands around that Thanks as always Bloomberg's Joe Matthew with us from Washington D.C. the host of sound on Imagine we're going to have a much more coverage of the hearings to come on Bloomberg sound on weekdays at 5 Tank called the Center for American Restoration will talk about that too, Russ. Good morning. Great to have you back with us. It's good to be back on. Thanks for having me sir. This decision to announce that they're going to make race a centerpiece of all of the administration's decisions yesterday. What did you think of that? And? And how does it How does it compare to the Trump policies on questions around race? Sure, I mean, think, is deeply troubling that this is the direction that the administration is moving in, instead of trying to unify the country instead of kind of have a policy of equality under the law. Which we have been making great strides in this country over many decades, this administration is putting back into place. Much of it was built up under the Obama administration. Is really feed off of Ah view that this country is fundamentally flawed that white people are racist and as a result Look at every public policy from the standpoint of that thread, and you saw in there's ever bring back diverse and Chinese and again. I have no issue with diversity training so long is that diversity training? Is not, uh, teaching that, um America is fundamentally flawed that our institutions are fundamentally flawed and that as a result, they need to be turned down. Because what happens is that leads to the implications that we saw the summer and quite frankly, recently in Portland, where, uh, if you think the institutions are flawed, bring him down. Turn it put the put the streets on fire. It was playing with fire. And this is administration is saying there for unity there not for unity there there for setting it and then doing something else, and it's greatly troubling. We have many crisis right now. We're trying to deal with coded. We're trying to get the economy back growing. We've got a middle America That's in many respects hollowed out and we way want to make sure the advances of the last four years are continues. And what is this administration doing that? They're They're dividing Americans once again based on race, and we've tried a person moved beyond that for so long. We were one of the executive orders that the calls for the re establishing federal respect for travel sovereignty. And it's interesting because we were just speaking with Mark Moran oh, about drilling on federal land. And that is one of the problems that the tribes are having now with this administration because a lot of them make money off of Jerling on their land, and they make money by drilling for oil and shallow and they do all these things, and they sell it and they and that's how they make their income. So on one hand, we're saying that we're going. We're going to re establish federal respect for tribal sovereignty. And on the other hand, they're telling these tribes that were going to cut up your source of income. It's been a postcard to their mouth clearly, you know, I was not aware that we were not treating tribal nations in with Sabatino page deserve. I think the fact we were You know, Look, this is president Eyes has re declared the war on energy. He was the vice president for a president that ran for office, he said energy prices need to necessarily skyrocket. It was the whole point of the policy that energy prices. With skyrocket so that people would move on to other things. Well, it just so happens that common Americans across the country don't have the luxury of just paying additional high prices. They need to move to something else. So we're seeing that with weird this presents going on fracking on energy. Um, and the policies is putting place that impact tribes and speak government. You're asking for hundreds of billions of dollars for bailouts for state, local governments, and yet there Cutting up the revenue stream that state and local governments are benefiting from. It makes no sense. Let me ask you about your ongoing project that you you've just launched its this decision to create this new think tank, the Center for American Restoration. What's the goal of the think tank? What will you be working on? The goal is to restore a consensus in America that were of people under God with eggs with unique interest worthy of the spending that flow from our people, our institutions and our history. And that our individual freedoms are enjoyed and predicated within just laws it and healthy communities. If I could boil it down for God, country for community and our belief is this in tabulates the America first agenda. That the President Trump put on the agenda for the American people, and we want to continue those those fights. We want to make sure there's a voice for those common men and women around the country to be able to ensure that Washington D. C. Writes for the things that is important to them, and not one that the establishment or or big multinational companies put on the agenda of politicians in the Beltway. And so, um, our hope is that this continues on those issues and really Build on them and take them to their furthest fullest implications. So I guess the question comes down to the Oh, can you change the establishment Republican party and I don't know if you can on There is a lot of support for President Trump type of Republicanism that the president has made pretty clear that he is no no plans at this point to establish any kind of third party breaking away from the Republican Party. So how do you get the Republicans to fight and to be more like a trump Republican? I think that's one of the reasons why we wanna be able Tonto established institutions based on ideas that impact parties. When you have institutions it provides for, uh, a opportunity to ensure that those ideas get points into the political bloodstream, and that's what I hope is. A zip between the political parties and I think the challenge is if you go to a third party, it's the moment has moment has to be right in our organization will not do party politics, but It's preventable with third party you may be sacrificed in order to election side building in is in the direction to be able to get to when you're now able to win with majorities..

"Good morning to you seven or seven W where Washington comes to talk coming up this morning, 7 35. We'll talk about the climate with Martha Murano all the way that Joe Biden's meddling in that issue. That again at 7 35 85. We talked to rust vote former Trump Administration official with his take on the first few days of Biden administration in a 35 Steve Nazis here. He's the chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee. Convince colonies with Mary Walter. Good morning. Joining us now is Rory Cooper. Where is the parent of three Fairfax County Elementary School students? Who my hunch is? They're not in school. Rory Thank you for joining us. No. Good morning, Mary. How are you? I'm doing just fine. So you want your kids back in school? So you should be happy that the parents are the excuse me that the teachers and the administration on the people who work in the schools are all being vaccinated right now. So you think that's a great thing, right? All right. Well, listen, I want all kids to be back in the school, and they haven't been in school since early March. 2020 and the teachers was a good thing that they've been moved to the front of the line to be able to get vaccinated so that we can have a school opening plan. Unfortunately, the Fairfax Education Association has decided that despite the vaccinations, they still will not commit to a full time school opening, so the teachers will get their vaccinations despite Ralph Northam, slow down. Of the distribution in this car in the Commonwealth, But then we still don't know if the schools they're gonna open up and teachers are parents are naturally livid. Yeah, it would be one thing if they were asking for some sort of like subtle change in order to be enough for them to come back, But what they're asking for is pretty dramatic. The Fairfax Education Association Rory Was suggesting that they don't want to come back to five day awake in person teaching until the students are vaccinated. That is that at this moment is an impossible goal. There's no vaccine for Children, and we don't expect to get Children vaccine until well into next year. That's correct. And despite the CDC showing that schools have been relatively the safest places that you can be during this pandemic, the Children do not have a vaccine coming in the near term. They want 14 days of no community spread, which is something that we might not be able to achieve for 12 18 months, even with vaccinations. And yesterday, they added another demand that teachers who feel uncomfortable about going back into the schools continue to keep their jobs at in indefinitely and not have to go back in. So even with the availability of vaccines You can still decide to opt out. But keep your position, which makes the school system strains to school system because they don't have enough teachers to be able to provide. Listen, there's there's a social contract involved with being a front line employees like a teacher teacher's air. Great are My Children's teachers are amazing. They're doing the best that they can. When you jump in in front of people Co morbidity, ease or people who need this vaccination that ensured that they can leave the house safely that people who deliver your packages to deliver your food who are out there in the grocery stores every day. When you're jumping in front of them. The social contract is that you are then going to go out and do your job. And if you are not, then we need to make way for people who are willing to do so. Yeah, absolutely, You know, and we speak to a lot of parents. We hear from a lot of parents who want their kids back in school and are very upset with Fairfax County Temper in particular. So is the voices seem to me to be getting louder and louder and louder. And then you have the teachers pushing in the opposite direction. Stuck in the middle are the school superintendent and those who met in the school board to make these decisions. So are you getting any kind of indication as to where this is going to go? Are they going to do anything? Is this just gonna play? Out indefinitely. What's happening? Well, the school superintendent, the school board Confident for the entire 12 months that actually problems on top of of the school closures. We've had a massive break into their cyber Capabilities to where personal data was let out. They've had returned to school dates set and they've changed those you know, usually 24 hours before the return to school day, it's open my kindergartner. Cried himself to sleep one night because he thought he was going to school to me. This teacher for the first time the next day Governor north, Um, just McKay, the county chairman and Fairfax of Heaven, even said the words school. Rob this year. They're hiding from the problem completely. So unfortunately, the citizens of Fairfax and the Commonwealth of Virginia just don't have any leadership. Anybody who is willing to stand up for the students and the and the invisible Children. That are being ignored. Brought this entire crisis, So I'm hopefully they get some semblance of the of the anger that parents are feeling right now. And this in a lot of parents moved into this county for the school's Fairfax County used to be one of the more desirable public school systems in America and the current leadership on the school board, or absolute, absolutely ruining it. Which is why there's so many recall. Parent groups trying to recall the school board so we can get leadership in there that actually cares about doing their job They're handling. They were handed something wonderful, and they destroyed it. So we're seeing you mentioned before that. The CDC has just issued a report that they once again are urging students to go back to school because the conditions were safe that very minimal safety standards need to be in place. In order for students to be back for in person instruction, including wearing masks and social distancing, But not much beyond that, and everything is going to be safe. It is no is maybe even more dangerous to be stuck at home rather than in school. But we see the Biden administration pushing back right now. Rory there there, Chief of staff. Rahm claim the White House chief of staff was on CNN last night, and he was arguing that we can't get the kids back to school yet. Because we need to pass the covert relief package. We need money to be sent out the door to these schools, and it's beginning to feel like to may and not just beginning it's been like this for a while. They're using our Children as leverage in order to achieve all sorts of political goals, and in the end, it's really costing our Children a great deal. Yeah, That's right, Ben. I mean, you know that teachers unions are very powerful political special interest and the Democratic Party has long been aligned with them. It's very difficult for the party to separate themselves from them. By the science here is really clear. And we in the Democratic Party often tells us to follow the science Well, the science over the course of last 12 months has shown that schools are relatively safe when you look at contract tracing The people who are getting are catching Covitz are doing it outside of the school settings s O, You know, we're all for a mitigation efforts were all for making sure that you know, reasonable measures are taken in order for us to open schools full time. But here effects County is one of the five or six best funded public school systems in America. Money is not a problem here. Money is not holding us back from making the right decision. We have more money per pupil than the private schools in the area that have been open five days a week. For the past year, those students are going risk free to school down the road. And that's the that's the economic on a gap in the inequality that we're creating in our system. Listen Ah lot of parents I know are looking at not re enrolling their Children. Next year because there's not a guarantee that there will be school when those parents and those students leave. That reduces the funding for that, Connie if they want more money, all they need to do is start providing the services the taxpayers are paying for. And those students in those people's will stay in the system..

What That means for the rest of Virginia because you know they're not allowed to cross the county lines. You know, they just stay in the county. So if you're not in Fairfax, you're fine. I'm Mary Walter with Vince colonies. Yeah. Opens up all sorts of questions. How did they get here? Them This is ah. Ah, Crazy time you met, you know, for the last year, we've We've known pretty well already that students do not transmit the coronavirus that a meaningful rate and that schools are relatively safe places to be in the midst of this particular pandemic, which we thought when we found out that news that that's great news. That means we can at least get the students back to school. But then very few places control. By the government actually did that. Instead, it was the private institutions that read the science and said, OK, we'll do that. So the private schools opened up, particularly in our area. Someone have been Oh. Been open for the entire school year. Yes, You heard me correctly. If you haven't been a part of it the entire school year they've been open and without incident, or very few, for that matter, which is great. News and news that the public schools should be following in Fairfax County. You've seen some 9000 students actually leave the public schools entirely 9000 of them. This year, either moving out of the county or switching to private school and those who hold I would venture to say many thousands more are on the waiting list to get into private schools right now, while they suffer in the arrangements that Fairfax County continues to force on the students of this school district You know, I was thinking about this a conversation I had with someone last weekend who lives in Potomac, Maryland, is in Maryland and they're pulling their They've pulled their their child out of public schools. They want their kids to go school kids not doing well. And you know, with this remote learning in this situation, this hybrid mix that they have And I thought, Wow, we were talking about what a boon. This may be the thing that saves Catholic schools. It's true, right? Because Catholic schools were suffering. A lot of them were suffering. Especially some of those in the cities were suffering because they didn't have enough students, right? Yeah, they can't keep up with the demand now, but who's in school? Now? The Catholic school kids are in school. And that is exactly what they were saying that they're like we're waiting list. How did that happen for a Catholic school? You know so well has this may be what saves the Catholic schools? Did you see the video? I don't think you do because you know we're having a little conversation about it earlier. But there's this video of these teachers in Chicago. Interpretive dancing. I had all I want. I have to find this. And the Chicago Teachers Union is refusing to reopen, of course and and one, and they're saying that they want to keep the school safe. So they have a video where all of the dancing teachers in the Chicago area schools are all dancing in their own living rooms. And you know in form and making all these various moves around and doing interpretive dancing to explain that the schools should remain closed until they're clean and until and we don't want to open until they're safe, and we want to keep the students safe. We want to keep the teachers say and so they're like dancing around. It made me think boy. Has there ever been a better argument for home schooling? Has there ever been a better argument for like, You know, I don't want my kid to go back to those teachers. But maybe you maybe those schools could stay closed. When did we normalize this crazy? Wacky behavior? When did this become okay? Like. When did parents look at that and go or teachers grown adults say instead of engaging and talking about the science and why, you know and and making a cogent argument as to why we don't feel we should be back in school. I'm just going to ignore you and break into dance. Here's my answer. When did that become normal? Honey? Get the drum. It's time for a drum circle. Now watch me interpret events. Uh, By the way, they deleted that tweet Did they got it? I was just looking for we'll find it. I'll find it for you. But in the meantime um, look, the data's really clear And if if you need to go even further if you're a vowed Biden support somebody who voted for Joe Biden, you're like I love that guy. I want to keep the school's closed. We gotta keep him close. Here's what Joe Biden. CDC is now saying headline CDC finds scant spread of Corona Virus in schools with precautions in place. In a report just this week, released yesterday in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Researchers from the CDC have found this. The preponderance of available evidence from the false school semester has been reassuring, wrote three CDC researchers quote there has been little evidence that schools have contributed meaningful E T O increased community transmission. The conclusion here, says Margaret, Home nine. The lead author in this report is that with proper prevention efforts, we can keep transmission in schools and educational settings quite low. We didn't know that at the beginning of the year. That's not true. They did know that at the beginning that they knew that well earlier in the last year, but I'll take what I can get right now out of the Biden CDC and they say, but the data has really accumulated. They say that even in places with high infection rates, there is no evidence that schools will transmit the virus at rates that are any higher than those seen in the general community, she said. They can operate safely as long as precautions are employed. Those precautions, masks and social distance thing. Mm. This is I mean, how much more evidence do we need now? The Biden, CDC says it's not Robert Redfield anymore. It's not Trump's CDC demanding. This is Biden, CDC demanding it What is the White House saying about this now that they've got an agency telling him get the school's open? Where's the White House saying? Well, we'll tell you in just a moment. 5 43 Ow! Male Does anybody.

Well, we'll see if we can talk about that. I don't think he'll come on the air with us because he probably wants to keep his job. But this is this is typical about what's going on. There's a story on that turtle boy sports dot com and in Massachusetts, I Ana Presley. She's the Ringo Starr the squad. She's the fourth and least member of the squad. Congresswoman from Dorchester Hyde Park, and she she's big defund the police person. But since the capital riot, she, I guess apparently she's called in and has now has a police car or two police cars, sometimes guarding her house, even when she's not there. That's it. Yeah, you know. So she wants to defund the police until she feels that she's in danger. On. Then she calls the cops. How? How ironic to Bury your next with Howie Carr. Go ahead, Barry. Hi, Ali. Hi. Your funeral spared you asked about who was the second shortest Presidential administration? Yes. It was James Garfield was assassinated in 18 81, and he always served for a few months, 199 days, somebody said by him, he was shot by a disgruntled job seeker. I still that's the that's the line in every history book. Thanks for the car. Thanks for the call Barry. So I think I think Biden will make it longer than six months. So he may be only the third shortest serving person, but I don't I don't see him last don't seem lasted two years. I really don't e just can't see it. Steve, You're next with Howie Carr. Go ahead, Steve. Hey, how we How are you doing? I made an old I made untold years ago that if Hillary one I was gonna become a full time Republican activist and I'm making good on my pledge, you reminded me of something has put second ago. This is their minimum amount of time that Joe Biden has to serve before the vice president becomes the president if he steps down What I mean, if he steps down what? Whenever he steps down, she becomes the president. And if she's and if she's not there say something happened to her. She resigned for whatever reason, like spirit. The Agnew resigned when he was indicted or was about to be indicted. Then the next person in line is the speaker of the house. And you know who that is. Okay, so that's how that succession go. But But anyway, um, I got a text from the National Republican Committee wanting a donation and I told them they should have stood up and fought against election fraud. And and I basically told him that they could run in hell, because they're not getting a dime from me ever. I've I've heard from so many people saying exactly the same thing. Steve, that you You just said. I mean, people are just fat up. And maybe we should talk about that tomorrow, you know, would you become? Would you join the Patriot Party if they if Donald Trump found that it I don't know. It still seems like it would be destructive to have two conservatives on the on the ballot. It would be like when when Clinton ran against George Bush, and there were two there and Ross Perot got into the into the fight. I think Clinton would still want even if Ross Perot hadn't been there, but a lot of people think differently. I think we'll just make it easy, even easier for the Democrats to win. I mean, look what the libertarians have done how they've screwed up. Various congressional races over the years, including one in Massachusetts a few years back with whatever Republican Congressman Richard to say, instead of Who? Who's the O instead of Seth Moulton, probably if if there hadn't been a libertarian in that fight when he was running against John Tierney, who was dusted up because his wife was in prison..

Judge dismisses Georgia lawsuit alleging mishandling of absentee ballots

"Dismissed a Republican lawsuit seeking to ban the use of absentee drop boxes for two Senate run offs next month in Georgia. Stephen Fowler from Georgia Public Broadcasting reports the 12th Congressional District Republican Committee suit to halt drop boxes and prevent counties from processing ballots before Election Day, among other changes to absentee voting. They said there was potential for fraud that could impact the runoff election that will decide control of the U. S. Senate. But Judge J. Randall Hall of George W. Bush appointee said the claims about fraud were quote highly speculative and that he wouldn't change rules in the middle of an election. So far more than 914,000. Georgians have voted in the runoff for both U. S Senate seats and a spot on the statewide Public Service Commission for NPR News. I'm Stephen Fowler.

The election is over, but Ron Johnson keeps promoting false claims of fraud

"Homeland Security Committee is holding a hearing today on what its chairman says Our reports of election fraud. No widespread fraud has been substantiated despite President Trump's false claims of it. Republican Committee chairman Ron Johnson of Wisconsin says people still don't trust the election results. But even the courts have handed down decisions and electoral coral colleges awarded Joe Biden 306 electoral votes. A large percentage of American public does not believe the November luxuries. Also legitimate. Democrats on the committee are calling the former head of cyber security efforts for the federal government to testify. Christopher Krebs said there was no election fraud and that this election was the most secure in American history. After he contradicted the president Trump fired him.

Former RNC chairman Michael Steele joins The Lincoln Project

"Meantime, the Lincoln Project has a new but very familiar face joining its ranks. It's Michael Steele, as you know. The political commentator is Maryland's former lieutenant governor and a past Republican committee chairman. Steel and the Lincoln Project are actively working to keep President Trump from being reelected To that point, Steele told MSNBC today that the Republican Party has decided it would rather be sycophantic than principled. And he says, in today's moment you want a certain kind of leader. And for Mr Steele. It's not Mr Trump. So far no response from the

Kavanaugh tells senators he will not withdraw nomination

"Whatever she has to say, let him say what he has to say. And at the end, the the senators will make a choice, President Trump laying out the basics for Thursday. Senate Judiciary committee hearing judge Brad Kavanagh on his accuser, Christine, Blasi Ford will testify senators. Let's get the latest now from ABC's. Karen Travers from the White House. Good morning. Karen, good morning. So. This all got pretty much finalized yesterday. Didn't it with her attorneys weighing in? Yeah. You know, the details are that'll be ten AM eastern time on Thursday, she'll testify first Cavanaugh would go after that. She is requested in her lawyers have requested that the committee. Call other witnesses, including Mark judge the man who she says was present for this who he has no recollection of it. It doesn't look like that's going to happen. The Republican committee members have certainly made clear the moving forward with these two witnesses the other issue that is unresolved from the Christine Blasi Ford end of things is whether or not it will be the Republican senators asking the questions of her all of them are male. Her lawyers have said that they believed that the senators have been dismissive of her story, and they want them to ask the questions, but there certainly been rumblings of outside counsel coming in to do it instead of them. Yeah. That's interesting chess match because I would have thought she would have wanted. Maybe what they offered a female attorney on the Senate side to question. But she says, no, she wants those senators to ask Kansas more complicated. Now in light of this. Accusation from Denver Ramirez who has Colorado ties. Yeah, it is in some ways because you have Diane Feinstein the ranking democrat on the Senate Judiciary committee calling for an immediate postponement of any further proceedings as she puts it related to the nomination of Brett Cavanaugh that could of course, include Thursdays, very intimidated testimony from Christine Blasi Ford and Cavanaugh himself. She is asking that this new allegation. Brought by Deborah Ramirez. Published yesterday in the New Yorker be referred to the FBI for investigation. They also the Democrats have been pushing for that for Christine Blasi Ford's allegation and the Republicans. I have not made those same calls. We know. Of course, the president has said he's not asking the FBI to do that. He thinks that it's just not what they're going to be moving forward on. Do you get a sense of if this accuser, the first accuser testified today, which way this the Senate panel would go I can't say at this point? I think a lot of very key votes are holding things close to the vest till they see exactly what she said. Says even the president last week was saying, you know, if she makes a credible case he would have to make a decision that was certainly caught a lot of people's years here in Washington. But right now, there's no rumblings that he's considering moving down his list that he had when he first was considering judge Cavanaugh earlier this summer this confirmation went from using the sports parlance to a slam dunk to a layup. Maybe a free throw. Now, it's getting like to the realm of a three point line. And I understand there's kind of seven senators that are somewhat hedging their bets at this point. Yeah. And you know, they're the senators that everybody has been focusing on even before all of this came out. What is Susan Collins going to do what is Lisa Murkowski going to do what are those senators the Democrats who are from red states who are up for reelection? Joe Manchin, Joe Donnelly, Heidi Heitkamp, those are the ones everybody's been keeping an eye on. And you know, I think everybody's just waiting to see how this plays out over the next three days. It's going to be very busy in Washington. This sure is thanks for laying. It all out for us. We
