"Browns team is loaded as Jenny said earlier. They have a coach of the year. They have Bill Callahan, who a lot of people is probably next to your head coach. You're offensive line coach might be one of the most important people on your staff and so they have a lot of really good things going for them and it's just they're together with the GM and there's no infighting. It's just like, I mean, this team could win the Super Bowl. I think that they have as good a chance as anybody going to the Super Bowl and winning it this year. Keyword that I want you to focus on in there. It was when I said could win the Super Bowl. And so in my and so inferring that they're going to be in the game would be right along with that that theoretically when you're in the game you could win the game. But I am going to change the team that is going to beat the browns in the Super Bowl originally. I had the packers over the browns for my official SI pick. I have changed that to the rams over the browns. But I would just like everybody to know that unlike Gary I have never once wavered on my relative belief of the Cleveland Browns ability to make the Super Bowl. Okay. All right, fair statement. I still consider myself as the person with the most integrity when it comes to making ticks on the show. And I'm gonna feel really comfortable in that spot. Yeah, I mean, I think that out of the three of us, you know, Jenny's probably the one that can look herself in the mirror, you know? And not feel a certain kind of way. But Gary and I are working on it, you know? This is a process of self discovery. I think we should just embrace it. I might add a fourth prediction at this point. Panthers no, just kidding. "Of the season. <Speech_Music_Male> Texans <Music> dolphins. <Speech_Music_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> But to be <Speech_Male> honest, this, well, <Speech_Male> this probably <Speech_Male> was the worst game of the <Speech_Male> season. This <Speech_Male> was <Speech_Male> just really bad <Speech_Male> football <Speech_Male> between the dolphins <Speech_Male> and the Texans. <Speech_Male> The dolphins end up <Speech_Male> hanging on here. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> As a game that featured <Speech_Male> what we had, <Speech_Male> let's <SpeakerChange> see one <Speech_Male> two three four 5 <Speech_Male> 7 <Speech_Male> 9 turnovers. <Speech_Male> Is that right? <Speech_Male> 9 turnovers <Speech_Male> from <Speech_Male> a couple. <Speech_Male> I mean, Tyra Taylor's <Speech_Male> old thing is he doesn't turn <Speech_Male> the ball over. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> He had three interceptions <Speech_Male> in this game. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Jacoby <Speech_Male> Brissette, <Speech_Male> it continues to <Speech_Male> be a victim of this <Speech_Male> dolphin's offense, <Speech_Male> where they just insist <Speech_Male> on. They just <Speech_Male> insist on <Speech_Male> running. It <Speech_Male> makes no sense. <Speech_Male> They insist on running <Speech_Male> the two a tongue of Iowa <Speech_Male> offense <Speech_Male> with Jacoby <Speech_Male> reset on his center <Speech_Male> and stylistically <Speech_Male> you could not get <Speech_Male> two quarterbacks <Speech_Male> less like <Speech_Male> each other than those two guys. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> it's not his fault <Speech_Male> when things go <Speech_Male> wrong. But <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> man, I <Speech_Male> don't know. I don't know what to <Speech_Male> say about this game other <Speech_Male> than we had three <Speech_Male> points in the second half. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> And the <Speech_Male> dolphins won 17 <Speech_Male> to 9. They snapped <Speech_Male> their losing streak. The <Speech_Female> Texans losing <SpeakerChange> street <Speech_Female> continues. <Speech_Female> There were a <Speech_Female> lot of bad <Speech_Female> football play this <Speech_Female> weekend. A lot of <Speech_Female> matchups were both <Speech_Female> teens looked bad. <Speech_Female> We've mentioned a <Speech_Male> few of them earlier. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Male> The fact that this was <Speech_Male> by far the worst <Speech_Female> says all you need to <Speech_Female> know about the game. <Speech_Female> And also <Speech_Female> that you <Speech_Female> initially left <Speech_Female> this game off the <Speech_Female> timeline for the <Speech_Female> show. And we're trying to figure out the game <Speech_Male> that you missed, <SpeakerChange> <Silence> and it was dolphin's <Speech_Male> Texans. <Speech_Male> It would have been the <Speech_Male> easiest way to build the <Speech_Male> timeline, <Speech_Male> build the <Speech_Male> outline by <Speech_Male> just putting this in the <Speech_Male> last spot and <Speech_Male> then working <Speech_Male> backwards. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> The MM QB <Speech_Male> NFL podcast <Speech_Male> is Jenny rentis <Speech_Male> and me, Gary Grammy. <Speech_Male> We are produced by Shelby <Speech_Music_Male> Royce as <Speech_Music_Male> executive producer <Speech_Music_Male> of podcasts as <Speech_Male> Scott brodie, <Speech_Male> thanks as always <Speech_Male> to senior podcast <Speech_Male> producer Dan <Speech_Male> bloom, who guides us <Speech_Male> in a way that <Speech_Music_Male> no one else can. <Speech_Music_Male> Mark Meredith <Speech_Music_Male> is emeritus editor of <Speech_Music_Male> the M and TB Andy <Speech_Music_Male> Benoit is the founder <Speech_Male> of the MMW NFL <Speech_Male> podcast. <Speech_Male> Be sure to subscribe <Speech_Male> to this feed on <Speech_Male> Apple podcasts and <Speech_Male> once you do, <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> leave a rating <Speech_Music_Male> and review, please <Speech_Music_Male> because it really does <Speech_Music_Male> help other people find the <Speech_Male> show, which is also <Speech_Male> available on Spotify, <Speech_Male> stitcher, <Speech_Music_Male> SI dot <Speech_Music_Male> com and <SpeakerChange> wherever <Speech_Music_Male> else you listen to <Music> podcasts.

Like you live in a place where the steelers are going to be good this year and it's just it's hard for me to digest them but isn't that the magic of what gary gramling brings to the staff. The Return of Evictions in the U.S.

"The first time since march twenty twenty most american renters can be evicted with the federal eviction ban. now over in the last few state protections set to end this month. It's really hard to know how many people this could affect. But the census bureau estimates four point seven million adults live in households where eviction is at least somewhat likely in the next two months meanwhile goldman sachs estimates seven hundred and fifty thousand households could face eviction by the end of the year actresses chief financial correspondent felix. Salmon is with me for more hi felix. i hope so. We talked on the show a few months ago about how maybe fewer americans than many had thought would actually lose their this year. Has that assessment changed. Yes the supreme court case. I think came as a bit of a surprise. They basically said the. Cdc is not allowed to continue this eviction moratorium that they had and so now. That is no eviction. Mars horror this still illegal process. Any landlord has to go through in order to evict you and states have slow processes. The courts overwhelmed. It'll still take a while before people start getting evicted but it is now legally possible in the way that it wasn't just a week ago what government protections do still exist for people in more precarious housing situations right now. So it's changing rapidly. You know the new york state legislature is coming back to try and pas new rules extending protections now the federal protections on there anymore. I think other states are going to do similar things. I think it is just going to be much more case by case than it used to be. It used to be like this big federal blanket ban. And now it's just gonna be. You're going to have to talk to your lawyers. Who can have to also really work hard to try and work out whether you can access some of the federal funds which have been impact for helping out rentis declare. Easy thing is. That's probably more money earmarked for helping out renters than they is rent areas. But it's just very difficult to match. Those

"rentis" Discussed on Highly Questionable

"Welcome eilly questionable. That is dominic foxworth. That has unicom's it's friday. Let's get going has the. Nfl already messed up there. Shawn watson investigation. So it's an open question now because to recap for you. Twenty two twenty. Two women have filed civil suits against the shawn watson alleging sexual misconduct sexual assaults so many of them stemming from encounters in massage therapy situations so shawn watson in. The meantime has been at camp with the houston. Texans leading many people to wonder how is it that he's playing football or participating in football activities right now and not on the commissioner's exempt list. Which seems to be the purgatory designed for situations. Just like this and in the meantime other people who have been asking those questions and have been frustrated by the way we talk about to shawn watson so often in the football context now because the nfl has not acted in. this way. Has been two of the accusers. Involved who have spoken to sports illustrated for meticulous piece reported by jenny francis in which they say not only have we been speaking to. Nfl investigators because one of the theories has been while maybe the nfl can put him on the exempt list or maybe nfl isn't taking action because they haven't spoken to the accusers. Well it turns out for the reporting sports illustrated. Ten of those women have spoken to nfl. Investigators and two of those women have spoken jimmy wrenches directly and said the questions we were asked made us feel both incredibly uncomfortable and seemed to be asked with the intention of shaming us. They asked what were you wearing at the time of these encounters. Which if you look at any sort of manual about how to ask questions of alleged sexual assault victims you know to avoid and so the nfl and their investigative wing should be subjected to further. Follow up questions here. I understand why people have lots of worries and concerns about how this is being conducted yet. Those women that the two women you referenced. Who spoke to jenny. Rentis has been all over the story. They said not only that the nfl's investigators made them feel uncomfortable. They contrasted it with the police department. They set handled it right. Let them speak interrupted. Didn't ask them these damning questions and that is a reminder not only that the nfl seems to be handling this in a very different probably dubious way frankly but also that they went to the police. I keep saying this story reported as Ignoring the fact that there is an ongoing criminal investigation. The police have also been speaking to these women and the question is why john is not on. The commissioner's exempt. Which i think is the real sort of issue at hand right now. It's been posited that perhaps it's because the criminal investigation is still ongoing. But it's worth to know that in the past the league has put players on the exempt list like josh brown. The kicker kareem hunt before charges have been filed. There is precedent for this and in this case they have spoken to ten women. Others has submitted sworn statements that they refuse to take into account citing their own rules for whatever reason frankly. This is a disaster. Like i don't understand why he is not on the list. I can't nobody has given me a clear explanation for this. And i think this reporting from johnny not only is revealing that the. Nfl deserves a hell of a lot more criticism than they've gotten for how they've handled this but also the media how we have covered this how we have discussed how he couched it in terms at williams speaking. I'm being general of a trade a hypothetical trade setting aside this criminal investigation these twenty two allegations of sexual harassment and assault as though they're amir obstacle to the trade so everybody involved in this. Frankly deserves a lot more. Scrutiny ranging from the nfl to watson to the media brought up. The commissioner's exempt list. I'm not an advocate for unilateral commissioner power in any cases. But he has it. Now and like baffles me. Why he wouldn't use it in this case because no one wants to shawn watson at camp this shawn watson doesn't even want to be at camp team. I can't imagine wants him. Walking around with the specter of this investigation hanging on. I don't understand why the league would want him there. Their accusers clearly. Do not want him there. I it just doesn't make sense to me why you wouldn't act in this case and i understand. I'm not surprised. I think oftentimes in meena. Maybe you're not surprised either. But it doesn't mean you can't be upset but i think some people are surprised that the nfl investigation is not handled above board. Like i know they say it's independent but like biases exist and nfl has priorities and this is true of everyone. Frankly not just moneymaking enterprises like the nfl. Your priorities are ordered in. The top of their priority is not solving domestic violence. It's not getting the truth about shawn watson. the top of their priorities and it always will be is what's best for the business protecting the shield. They like to say it so like. I'm disappointed in the things that i read but i'm not surprised like i feel the same way about that but i do like companies in general we talk about all the bad things that these companies are doing and i. I'm not shot. Like it is our responsibility to hold them to account well especially dominique. If the number and again i hate to keep harping on the most basic aspect of this thing but twenty two right like at a certain point like part of the frustration that those women expressed jenny renta's which is so obvious when you see them. Articulated is when they watched the media when they watch people talked about it. It's incredibly frustrating and depressing. Because it's not. I mean look one or two should be enough. Let's be clear about that but when it's twenty two. There is a question of precedent this president being set in terms of how we discussed this thing and how the nfl processes this thing. This has the ability to set a standard that is ordering on dystopia and pablo. I just wanna add one more thing. Which is if you don't feel qualified to weigh in or do legal analysis. That's fine just say the number. Those are the facts of the story has been accused by twenty two women and debt that fair minimum that bar that tiny bit of information continues to be left out. And that is what is so disappointing is pablos beloved ryan fitzpatrick being lame for still complaining about the dolphins okay. He's not complaining all right he is merely being asked questions and answering them from a place that we all want him to become an from. Which is honesty emotional integrity and honesty. What he says of course is what he's always maintained and he just give more detail to it here. Which is that yes. This was his team people around him including chaim gaily by the way. A coach on the team all agree that this was his team. This was shocking to come in and take the job. And he's allowed to say. I felt terrible about it while also being a supportive great team mater in so doing. That's what he's saying to find on apollo you're buying matico strong him down ugly. I'm sorry it's fine all or too strong line. However like brian. Fitzpatrick was not brought into that situation as the quarterback of the future. It's like ryan. Patrick knew what the deal was when he signed up so like i understand he was playing well and you could argue the merits of the decision to pull them out or leave him in but citing chan gailey like come out daily. That's that's what you're talking. Chen galea's is the guy who who's decision making process. We're like oh don't worry about that. One of the best young coaches we have in the league. No his decision One of the best young. Gm's lee jang. His teammates annoy his teammates. Were all stuck in soling..

"And it's also a contract year for tj watt. Which will be another interesting factor He declined to talk about it at steelers minicamp but obviously as a player that the steelers would like to keep around jenny of did that awesome. Cover story on. T. j. watt last year in the turnover based on what you know Reading the tea leaves which i was banned from saying i will bring it back because i want to read some tea leaves. Do you think that we're like one contract. You're away from a watt brothers reunion somewhere like we need well. It's not a reunion. Because i don't think they've ever played together. But like a real a real. What tackler finale. Or some spend time together. Yeah yeah they know. They have the subway in their backyard that they all eat at. That's right that's right. Yeah i mean that was the potential possibility this offseason right and it didn't work out that way. But i can imagine that would be a career goal. If you're we all have siblings here like if if your sibling was playing for the steelers and you're free agent would you wanna play for the steelers or would you want you know like i feel like i feel like i. I don't i don't know. And i i mean i love. I love my sister. I just don't know if like. I'd wanna like the defensive line with her. That's all i don't know yeah i mean i. The younger sibling sister is brilliant. And i had the same major as she did in college. And i still remember going into my biochemistry class freshman year pretty big lecture hall. At least one hundred students sitting like in the middle of the room and the professor points to mean is like. Are you related to kathy. Rentis and i was like yes. I'm her sister and he said well. You have big shoes to fill. And i was like. I'm aware i've been. I've been told this my whole life. And he said well sounds like it's an issue for you. But i just want you to know that she's the only person to receive a one hundred percent on all four exams in my class. It was one of those classes where your grade was based entirely on for exams and this teacher was one of those who had the tricky multiple choice questions so it was like abc and then d. was like a and b like. Amc had to know every last thing. So i think. I took the first exam. I think i got one question wrong or something and i go to check my task or pick it up because you know this was a while ago. I'm older you'd always get your grades via email and it's like well you know nice trier something along those lines. So can i could relate to tj a little bit here so you would. You would prefer like let's say happy. Is a franchise quarterback. You're the pass rushing defensive. End may be being able to get after in practice. A little bit would be cathartic. Oh no i was saying you know. Maybe maybe i should have gone with the different inter university.

"And he would do that. Routinely I'm in Kansas City that you know he would go into the huddle and he would say like, Hey, get a. Load of this person in the stands or you know you see what this person's wearing whatever and he would carry that with him and the player said that they had never experienced something like that in their lives where you know someone just instantly made everybody feel so calm and he would say things like you know what I'm going to win this game. So just give me two or three seconds in the pocket and we'll figure this out. This is what I do and so you know. I think that in that way he was that Joe. Cool guy that they always expected. But then after the Games he's he's taking you out to dinner. You know he would take a different position group out every night of the week after wins and so he would divvied up Monday Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday Friday, and he was always out with these guys. You know he was always present and I think that that went a long way you know and then it fostered mutual care. You know he took. The blame for every missed snap and his center told me that never in his entire life at a quarterback taken blame for a snap and here's Joe Montana's saying, this is my fault I. Didn't put my hands in the right place and all this stuff goes a long way and so it was interesting to talk to but this teammates and then Tom. Brady's former teammates to say like how close is this guy to what Joe is and where is his level of emotional intelligence in? Can He? Can he responded in a way that Joe Montana responded. Yeah and one difference in Montana. Starting over versus Brady starting over was that it was clear that his era was ending rights. He was injured Steve. Young was there different situation with Brady where you know while there was probably. An understanding internally that this might be or would be Brady's last year. There wasn't a clear succession plan in place. It wasn't obvious until he announced that he was going elsewhere. So how do you think that difference will play into it? Yes. Oh all Hackett, who is the offensive coordinator that team? So that's that's the biggest factor is that Tom had a choice and joe did not have a choice as much as Joe wanted to think that he could still be. The quarterback of the forty niners there was a humbling there where you had to recognize that it was time to move on and that you actually physically Ben replaced and I think that that creates a different way to handle things. Emotionally, you are humbled in a way that Tom Brady I don't think has ever had to be humble before, and so it's fascinating to see you know how he's going to take that in spin it forward I talked to. Matt Cassel for the story and he said that, yeah, I mean Tom Brady was at the beginning of his career. Before he reached that superstar status, he was at the outlaw drinking with all the guys which was kind of their biker bar hang out place He can't do that anymore I think as as famous we think Joe Montana was in the nineties Tom. Brady is probably one hundred times that in terms of not being able to go out and. Enjoy yourself privately in a semi public setting. But at the same time, he's like you know if there is a private party if there were you know a kid's birthday you know anything where the guys were getting together Tom was there you know and Yuck ended up with everybody and was totally normal part of that process for him in a very important part of that process for him. So if you're Bruce Arians I mean I think that that. Lends well to the future like you hope that he once we're able to. Gather safely you know that he takes that seriously because I think that you just can't have. You can't just. Bring a quarterback in and have him sitting around and basically this untouchable entity. You know what? I mean. Yeah. I mean looking. It's pretty remarkable that it was so seamless for Joe Montana to assimilate into the Kansas, city team and the community and everything else after his story career in San. Francisco. Do you think that it will go as seamlessly for Tom Brady? I think one of the interesting things that I had heard during the story was that Tom, in New England would. Treat everybody differently but in a good way. So if Randy Moss and made a mistake practice in, he would take him to a very quiet place where nobody else could see them and say, Hey, you know you mess this up and you know this is what we're GonNa do to fix it. If it was wes Welker, you'd scream at him in front of everybody because he knew that that's how West liked to digest information and I think that those little glimpses of the way that Tom can stand people read people. You would hope that that bodes well for the future in Tampa right. Their stories going back to early in his days in Foxborough. You know after he won his first Super Bowl where you know some scrub Mitzi Tom Brady in the he'd know their name already knows something a little about them and that was something that he took very seriously but it does he continue to do that now when you really doesn't have to anymore right, it's not the Patriot way he can be free of that. He can act however he wants to act but will he or is part of the Patriot way that we know it because of wet Tom Brady did through those years so I think it's going to be interesting sort of a chicken or The egg thing that we're all looking out for yeah. No, it was really interesting insight into both Brady and Montana and a lot of good stories that made it a really fun read Connor. So I really enjoyed it. Yeah. I really enjoyed it. It's a weak side issue of sports illustrated. How exciting is that? Yeah. Yeah. So yours ran online Monday mine was supposed to run online Tuesday by the time. The episode comes out. We will see maybe a college football day understandably. So so you know we'll see how it goes with the online but definitely, both will be in the magazine this week and it's a weird time to talk about season preview but. "Okay guys, the weakside podcast these back I'm connor, or and alongside me digitally virtually is Jenny Rentis and we're gonNA, talk about some football today, because at this point in time early in the week here. This is. July twenty seconds that we're recording this. Here's what we know. Training camp is still on pace technically to begin on time. and we've heard a lot coming from the NFL the NFL PA about the protocols, so we'll get into. We'll get right into that, and then we'll get to some topics and smother news, but here's what we know as of right now. Players are going to get tested every day for two straight weeks at reportedly a cost of seventy five million dollars to the NFL. If you're if positive tests fall under five percent will move to every other day after the two weeks. as it stands right now. There are no preseason games. The first five to six days of camp will be testing and physicals. Six to twelve will be strength, conditioning and walk-throughs, fourteen eighteen increase non-contact activity with helmets and day, twenty plus pads and normal onfield practice protocol, so sort of a truncated version of everything that a team would try to go through. In its OTA's and training camp mandatory minicamp. All that stuff in this preseason time What do you make of all this Jenny's? This sound feasible to you. Well I think it's. A lot of progress forward from where things were a few days ago. You know that NFL PA had a conference call with reporters last Friday, and Jesse threader, WHO's the president. was saying that. He was worried about the ramp up period right? They've they've been pushing to extend this ramp up period. They looked back at twenty eleven when players were coming back from the lockout. In injuries of something like twenty percent Kelly's went up two times hamstrings forty percent. Those were the numbers they were citing so. They wanted it extended time of strength and conditioning, and then the non padded and padded, which is is what this is, I don't know if it's a little bit more truncated I think than the players have been pushing for, but obviously in a negotiation you end up at a certain spot, but it was clear from that conversation that there would be no space for preseason games, and I think that league you realize that and they worked out a solution here which I think is positive because. GonNa players were saying we don't have testing protocols, and we also don't have easing in period, and they did get those done with training camp. Aw, on the horizon here, so it was a late push to kind of get to a better place. Obviously, there's a lot of other things to work out. Some of the economics some of the continued ABC protocols, and what happens in season, if are outbreaks and Ruth Rosters, but this is at least a good set for and give a lot of credit to the players for holding firm. They know that first season to be played. The NFL needs them and they fought for their safety collectively. The biggest stars around the league use their voices and. That's how the power of the players should be right I. Mean You you? They are the stars. They're the ones who make the game. They should be fighting for the things that they need to play safely, and it was great to see that they did. And they got some of the results they were pushing for in the wake of George. Floyd's murder the players you know coalition that came together and use their voice and got actionable change right away was impressive this wall. You know a a less serious matter. Still shows that you know the NFL is realizing I. Think How united of Affront. The players have been putting up and it's impressive I. Mean you know in the past we've seen the players get steamrolled. For some really important things, and when it comes to whatever it is health and safety I mean anything that's important to players. But now it seems like you know like you said they're finally realizing their collective strength, or you know they're finally all getting on the same page. I mean so many times before. The messages there wasn't there just wasn't a united front. It seems like there's a there's an energy there. That hasn't been there in the past with the players. Yeah, and I think when we saw the back and forth over the CVA, and whether to vote, yes, or no, and obviously there is a divide over the players, and it narrowly passed as yes and people. Were looking back on that and saying well, thank goodness. They pass the CBA because the pandemic kit and it was better to have a labor deal locked in, and that is absolutely true, but what I will say at that time was you know sometimes when you're presented and bargaining has been done in your voting, yes, or no, you don't have a lot of room. Necessarily and I think an engagement throughout the process to get to that point or pushing back when the NFL came to the table, and said our starting point as a seventeen game season, which is something that the players have long opposed I. Think earlier were when those conversations needed to happen, but. I still think and as I thought then that. Engagement from the players and powerful players using. Their platforms and the influence that they have can be helpful in labor disputes, and while it was good that they pass the CBA. It didn't have all the things that I think for important some players, which is why the vote was so close, and so I think we have seen this kind of natural outgrowth as you said Connor, you know I. Think sometimes when you're pushed to the point of being completely and totally fed up which the players were seeing the NFL's initial response to George Floyd and feeling like there was a continued lack of. Of Support for the black community, there was lack of anti-racists actions that really galvanized it and I'm really interested to see I. Mean obviously. There is a CB locked in..

"Hey, we're football team, so they turn around now and are basically like Oh yeah, we want to incorporate native American culture. We want to honor it like it's just so. This whole thing just is smacks me so frustrating. Connor because he had the chance to do the right thing, right, he's had multiple opportunities the writing, even in two thousand fourteen just meet with native American change the name activists. I'm just so. Reluctant to give them any credit while I'm happy that we're here and I'm happy about this. Awful name is changing and I'm happy that there. It seems inevitable at this point I'm one I. I'm sort of in, believe it when I see it mode like I'm not so sure that there won't be some kind of I. Don't know last minute curve ball because I'm a skeptic, but to you know when it happens. It's like all right. He's basically forced into it for business reasons, and just it just doesn't feel good. You now doesn't feel good, Connor. No, I'm waiting You know it's been a while and you need something You know to leave us with a good taste in our mouth. It's been It's been a little bit of time you know. Maybe. And this was never going to be the thing you know I think that that's the difficulty of the saw is when push comes to shove, and there's so much great advocacy being done for you know Putting history in its correct perspective, and it's correct light, but it's still so frustrating to see the motivation the ultimate motivation behind all the decisions. And it, so it just doesn't leave you feeling good in the moment that said. For better or worse, there's I would say at this point and ninety nine percent chance that the Washington football team will not have a racial slurs nickname in two thousand twenty, so hey that the. It that's the way it's positive. The end result will be positive and you know I think there's future generations of kids who are going to grow up and not have to feel uncomfortable by this nickname. Deter you know their native Americans across the country who don't want their kids to have to face this uncomfortable nickname. They faced growing up. They don't want their kids to be called the our word and this is a positive step in that direction, so yes, you're right, connor, it's it's a good outcome despite the fact that it's just a reminder of CA-, the power of our capital is Dick Society and that that can oftentimes just leave you feeling kind of. About things I agree What's something Holiday, weekend had just passed while it was a little bit more sombre in nature. Certainly give what was going on anything. a good highlight from the holiday weekend. That didn't give you the Feeling something that can I feel like we need that. Kick at the end of the. You. Know I don't have anything top of mind, Connor, how about you? We were driving home on the fourth We went to go visit. And I was like look at you. Know fireworks and she's kind of looking at them. Never seen them before didn't really know what to make of it. And after two or three, she said I. Want to go home so I say okay. We're we're going to go home, but so that was that we tried. We tried July fireworks, but you know. It is what it is, you know. "When she's twenty nine, she's from Columbia he met her in a bar like kind of I guess by Camp Right but here's the thing is he jotted dealer Rentis do you notice that he speaks perfect English until he andy something? Spanish, Columbia right because like Giada will be like Oh sorry I'm going to make some big today. We got ta out of the Fridge and. That's what he's doing made. Lease Dot Columbia. Yup. That he likes her but that's what he likes about her and her long legs. In Iowa and they met and. Now, we see that he's GonNa Shirt training his cat to walk in this harness. So he crawls on the grass to show him how to walk. Very amusing thought that was so amusing. All right well. She had moved. She had moved back to Boston shortly started dating, and then she went back to Colombia. So she refers to another face timing right and she says something about like. While the last time we were together like this. It was awful right like like some kind of incident occurred. Right, and then everyone's crying and she can't move here because of a secret right. So now he's meeting with friends and they love his girlfriend they don't like him. They loved that so nice. How support his friends are because that's really rushing. Yup. So now the axe throwing date comes in they all needed an axe throwing party and he tells them that he's moving to Columbia, and then he also reveals that he cheated on her with a coworker. So she doesn't trust him enough to move here and his friends are so mad at him for cheating and he's hysterical crying I mean listen you get what you deserve. This is your punishment and their right though like he painted something, it's really really hard to bounce back from that. Yup. Let's talk about my favorite couple Kenneth Armando. "I have run and welcome back to another episode of the Qb Week in review on the QB. Nfl podcast feed. This is our Friday show. We took a couple of weeks off but we did this earlier. In the off season Before our schedule was moved around by the draft and some other things but the idea is to bring in the whole gang on Fridays and talk about some of the things that have been keeping US busy. So I'm Mitch Goldrich. I'm here with our breer Jenny. Rentis and connor or hey ever on Mitt Mitchum a little bit bummed that we changed formats and now. I can't see how your beard is coming along. Update Ya sorry about that. Yeah we have a new format here. And I actually. I suggested we do a google hangout at the same time and then our producer shelby said he was worried. That might cause an echo with the new program that we're using so all have to maybe just a text your photo on our group text but the beard is coming in. I'm feeling pretty good about it. I've crossed the two months threshold so thanks for asking. Connor probably more worried that it would just distract us. You know what? I mean That's a good point all right so we're gonNA talk about some of the things we've been doing but I like to start this as we have in the past with whatever we've been doing I think this started as something we watched on TV. And we've talked about things that we've read and then I think that morphed into just things we've done to keep busy but why don't we go around the Horn and just Everyone can share one thing. You've done to keep busy since we last talks. 'cause you know this is obviously crazy times for a lot of people and we've had the NFL to distract us and the draft and the schedule released did that but a lot of people are looking for recommendations on books and movies and TV and other activities around the house. So let's go around Albert. Do you WANNA go first. What have you been keeping busy with? Going to be the boring one and just say that I've watched where everybody else has watched. Which is the dance and for me. Like that's Daljeet because it's right when I was in high school and So Ninety six ninety seven ninety eight. That's sophomore junior senior year for me and And Yeah it's been kind of cool reliving all that and you know. It's confirmed that the nineties where the coolest time to grow up You hear the music. The sports everything about it was just perfect. And I know you guys. I know you guys have probably been watching. I felt like going into this whole thing like that. I felt like the like the way. Jordan would be digested and like kind of like the way that we all process. Jordan might be a little different. I don't know about you guys. Like I almost like more than I did before Just watching the way he kind of operated in the way he left to people up and you know sort of the zero sum game. He played how competitive he was. I don't know. I like them more than I did before and I liked him. Plenty before all of this. Yeah it's been good. I've read all the some of the criticism about the fact that his production team was involved in. So is it really you know. The Ken Burns had criticism about it. But it's pretty easy to put that aside and when it's on TV just to watch it and enjoy it for what it is and get entertainment out of it. And I'm with you. I'm younger than you. Obviously but I am old enough to remember watching him. When I was a kid. And it's definitely been fund. There's been a lot for me. That I've remembered that I saw at the time but didn't know as much of a and then some stuff that has been new to me so it's definitely been fun doing guys. I'm sure this question has been asked before but is there an NFL? Figure that any of you would like to see a similar ten part doc about I mean Adam Venit Terry. I'm just trying to think like what would it be? A team or a single player could be either so the nineties cowboys would probably be like. It's just as far as like what you'd want to get behind the curtain on. It have to be the nineties cowboys. I think right well. If you actually had full access to see the final Chapter Patriots Dynasty. Yeah if you had access so you could do at the same way where you key in on the final season but then use the rest of the doctor go back and talk about what led up to it. Yeah that'd be a good one. I'd like at ten part documentary on. Why the Falcons decided to wear those godawful awful uniform this year from the beginning to the end you know we will. We will get to the uniform Qatar. We're GONNA be talking about your uniform. Rankings but I whatever else has been to Jenny. Did you have a fun week here? What's going on with you? I think I know what you're about to tell us about. Oh well I'm actually going to save that for the end of the show as one. Good thing I. But I will say that I did was. I built a Lego sets. My mom gets me a LEGO EVERY YEAR FOR CHRISTMAS. So I had a couple that I just hadn't belt so this was good time to do so and I built the New York skyline and there was the Freedom Tower Empire State Building Chrysler Building and Flatiron building was a quick built on the Statue of Liberty. So this you know. Little five buildings. Lego took me back to childhood a little bit so that was one couple of hours of my weekend. I enjoyed a little Little Lego belt. Which doesn't like that. What I've got me back into Legos with my kids now and like Jenny. I don't know if this is. Your experience is as good stress reliever as there is. It's so true so you can really focus on it and the benefit to a Lego over a puzzle which is sort of similar right. You focus on putting something together. But then the Lego you can kind of keep around like I have my New York Skyline on my window sill and I think I'm just gonNA leave it there whereas puzzle you end up having to take the pieces apart and it's kind of like a fleeting thing whereas the Lego you you know if it's something you want to keep her out. I know a lot of lego. Said I built US kids. Were just kind of like you play. You take it apart. You build something new but this is the architecture series you know. It's it's for like adults like me. Who are still like seven-year-old Lego fiends. So we need a picture that still. You're talking about my beard. This is what you want us on. All right I'll tell you that we may have to tweet that out from the Cuba with this podcast when the links up big accomplishment complaining I'm over here put together like Legos like Spiderman. Johnny's doing the New York skyline. Well it's this. One is not as complicated as others but it was fun. And I will say they got pretty creative with some of the shapes and how they came together so nice looking forward to this all right Send that over and and Connor. How about you? Something you've watched a red or done to keep busy I've kept abreast of a lot of these updates But have gotten in heavy into adult coloring Not Adult is in like explicit but just coloring books that are too difficult for children and involve like in any sharp pencils. And you know you're going to do a lot of shading in. There's like more complicated designs. So I've been I got my scenes of the woods. Coloring book last Yesterday after a week long delivery debacle with Amazon and Last night very peacefully just a have been coloring in a A scene with Badger and it's been It's been good. The Badger Badger was the first one So I was GonNa go in order here. But there's so many leaves grass so it's just like the hours are just flying by while while I'm coloring it in was the delay because it's on back order is all that stuff like yes. Oh apparently like everything that I have used as a stress reliever throughout this and I've tried to like stay. Relatively natural like camomile. Tea was completely gutted it every supermarket and I had to go through like some loopholes to get that and then I was like okay. Well maybe I'll try collaring. Everything's on back order. Everything sold out My pencils showed up colored pencil. Shut up like smashed in the ten and I was like you know what I'll just I'll deal with it. You know And we'll get through but everybody's ravenously You know combing through all the you know coping mechanisms. I guess you know I got. I got the wrong idea to when you said adult coloring book. I'm glad you clarified. If you had just coloring and offered no further commentary that would have been a little bit crazy. Pick that up at a weird guy see doing over there really open about its private but yeah. I would recommend it yeah totally. I have not done any coloring I. I have no legos either. I have a puzzle that I have not yet put together. I've got a thousand piece puzzle. Lincoln financial field. Actually which. I'm sure you'll see a picture of when it's done at some weekend. Break that out I'll give a TV recommendation. I quickly binged through season. Two of dead to me on net flicks. I don't know if you guys are familiar with this show Christina applegate and Linda Cartolini. It's kind of Mr. I don't WanNA spoil anything but there are two best friends and there's mystery and there's There's a lot of wine drinking during the day and It's very exciting. Show my wife and I both loved season one last year and we were both skeptical. That would make a good season two but then it was like okay. It's back we gotta do it and we just knocked it out very quickly and a couple of sittings very good show. I don't want to say any more about it but highly recommended. I watched season one of that. I didn't realize there was a season to come out. It just came out this week. Oh okay great all right this is a rare TV show. That I'm sort of up to date on. I mean I'm not super behind. No you're not behind it all so you can check in the next time we do this. Podcast you can let us know what you think. All right sounds good all right. Should we get into some football kind of stuff we always? We'd like to talk about what we were working on this week. That's usually the point of this podcast Sometimes it takes US little longer. Actually get into it Albert. Should I start with you? You've written a bunch? This off season about how different teams are figuring out their way through this kind of unprecedented off season and you had a story Thursday and your game plan you talk to George kiddle about his home setup. Do you WanNa tell us about George Kettle. Yeah it was interesting so I was talking with him on Wednesday night and he was sort of going through it and like he started talking about how he was like the idea. When did the idea come to you? And he's so came to him late February and he started working on it then and I was like wait a second. That's before like I personally like and I mean everything runs together now but sort of hit me like that's way before most people are taking this thing seriously at all and It was actually the way he sort of figured that he should get going on. This was he and his wife. They got married last year made a small family wedding and they were going to have a party this year in Italy in June. And so you know as soon as the season ended after the Super Bowl. They're sort of starting to pay attention. Okay what's going on over there? When the corona virus outbreak you know really exploded there and as they sort of go through it it hits him like is GonNa come here and it's going to be bad and so you start ordering gym equipment and You know as it turns out. He told me like you know he ordered. I think Latte pull down machine squat rack an assault by his wife a a stairmaster and all the stuff that he ordered he went back on the site like two or three days later and all of it was sold out and so he was able to sort of create this home gym and I think like everything else all of us. We've sort of like you get into certain things in this situation over the last couple of months and maybe get like a little obsessive compulsive over certain things and that's what this was for him where he sort of went from having this like this area in in his garage. Where you know. He expanded his driveway and So so so. He wouldn't need to park cars in the garage anymore. "Exercise son, vitamin d or proper medical care for six years of illegal embassy detention then against all medical advice. Threw him into a prison cell. She tagged the UN in her post talk about your visit with him talk about the time he was in the Ecuadoran embassy in London. He was there for almost seven years was not able to go outside because the British government said they would arrest. And if he did. Well, I think it's very important to say that I went to the prison with two very experienced and specialist medical experts so experts that are specialized in examining. And again defying and documenting symptoms of torture, physical, torture, or psychological torture. And we re run medical protocols cold, the Istanbul, protocol, which are recognised protocol exam and torture victims to have an objective medical assessment. So Mr Assange, showed all the symptoms that are typical for persons that have been exposed to prolong psychological torture. My assessment is that Mr Assange has been exposed to various forms of cruel. Inhuman degrading treatment that cumulatively half the same effect. The psychological torture. Now because Mr Assange has been confined to a very controlled environment for about seven years with very little outside influence. It is it is possible to, to the causal relationship between the medical symptoms of the actual Coles of the symptoms with a high degree of certainty. Now conclusions. Are that first of all, it is the concerted effort of various states to hand him over to the United States, which is a bit of the, the elephant in the room? That's the one fear he has had since two thousand and ten when he first published lords large amounts of, of compromising information about the United States and soon after he was exposed to the relentless. Rentis compay of to this little persecution. I'd say because it is an abuse of the judicial system in order to try to extradite into the US and get him to be prosecuted for a for a roll of fences as we have now seen under. Yes. I believe that Mr Assange has a credible case and credible fear. He would not get a fair trial in the United States at that he would not be safe and protected from the types of detention and treatment that would violate the convention against torture. So he has in the same time at the same time from two thousand and ten increasingly been exposed to public campaign of competitive public mobbing, I would say, mobbing vilification, and intimidation ranging from deliberate ridicule to insults and up to actually open calls for his assassination and murder without the government's concerned, governments ever interfering trying to protect him from this type of, of unacceptable of threats all of these elements have contributed filthy, sleep to a level of stress and anxiety that, that, that would be unbearable for anyone but on top of this, when the new government was elected in Ecuador in two thousand seventeen the last government could have actually provided him the drift huge and protection turned against him and started to deliberately harass him in order to get him to leave the embassy and, and, or to trigger a health crisis that would justify his expulsion to. To to a hospital and therefore, British jurisdiction. So all these elements have resulted in a medical picture at and symptoms that are tend to mount to what psychological, torture would produce over a prolonged period. The British Foreign minister Jeremy hunt has responded to your report by saying, this is wrong Assange, chose to hide in the embassy and was always free to leave and face Justice. The UN special rapporteur should allow British courts to make their judgments without his interference or inflammatory accusations. Nelson your response. Well, actually, I have responded to him and said that with all due respect sir, but Mr Assange was about to free to leave someone who is sitting on a rubber boat in a shark pool. I believe it is important to see that the Swedish prosecution the Ecuadorian authorities and also the UK to dislo thority so far have not shown the impartiality end up that is required unto rule of law. He just been expelled from the Ecuadorian embassy without any due process of law. And we're talking about two former lifting often asylum status and the suspension of his nationality citizenship, which normally would not be done by president on the lateral decision..

"Following Monday's unprecedented. Leak of footage from the highly anticipated avengers endgame, the movie directors have taken to social media to employ fans, not to spoil the movie for each other. As the LA times reports the spoiler heavy footage from the long way to film made its way online on Monday, leaving some fans cleaned from social media until people twenty-six release. Here's the thing. I'm not sure if I would have known about it if the director Ted and come out with a hashtag don't spoil the endgame. Don't you think? Now, that's going to result in more people searching for it. Now, people are gonna spoil it is that what they're saying. They put it out because of leaks. I thought they put it out because they're starting to show like advanced screenings, and they don't want. Anyone spoil it that sees it. This has something to do with the video that was spreading all over the internet and to attached don't spoil the end game. They wrote a letter because. So many of you have invested your time heart and your souls into these stories where once again ask for your help. When you see endgame into coming weeks. Don't spoil it for others. The writer doesn't think that the footage has ruined the movie for her. But maybe risk if you're concerned about even like the trailers and commercials at they're showing on TV and on the internet. They're even said that some of that's not even real like it. They just put it out there. Just because they don't want to spoil anything serious stuff. Somebody paid. How many thousands of dollars to to be able to nine thousand dollars for a ticket to be one of the first to see it? Spoiler video out there. It's going to ruin it for everybody.
