"Eventually well ran dry. And i needed to figure something out so My dad was in the navy and have had lots of other family members who were in the military so i went like everyone else the recruiting office and try to figure it out to go in the marine corps. I that didn't work out. I had too many tattoos. By that time so i ended up going into the army and eventually enlisted and win as a combat medic. So going into the army wars from the first thing that you started figuring out about yourself because at the military's very revealing process and sometimes you don't figure out what it revealed till decades in years later. But i'm interested in your case because you've been in the depths of the psyche of what you go through so i'm wondering what do you think the army helps you reveal by yourself. I think that's really true. It took me a lot of years after. Just sometimes figure out some of those life lessons right but the army helped me become more disciplined. That's for sure. I was living this crazy. Wildlife as a teenager and even as an adult. I was twenty before i finally got into the army so for me i needed to learn some humility and some discipline and also what it was like to care about other people. You know when you're a teenager and getting higher very selfish only worrying about yourself so we have to look after from. Yeah exactly so Learning how to care about the next person was Invaluable to me now as an adult as you look through your the past. Have you been able to try to pinpoint appoint where you started. Losing the ability to empathize with people before like in high school. Was there like a turning point moment in time. where like you just started focusing on yourself versus other people. I can't really pinpoint at time now. But i think That area of my life those couple years fifteen to nineteen or sort of a blur you know in some regard definitely recognize the need for change when i was like twenty. And my life was really unraveling. And i couldn't pay my rent at couldn't pay my car payment. I was about to get a victory An unfortunately there's a negative side to that too. It you know friends were overdosing and in a lot of bad things happening in drago friends were also romo seems kind of influence so if birds of a feather flock together right i was no different so kind of moving forward from that looking back at it now at thirty five. Unlike what was i doing at fifteen sixteen seventeen years old. How long did you serve in the army for years. So what was the decision to get out..

"Someone like drew brees. WHO's over here? Like? Oh, well. I don't stand for disrespecting. The flag and kneel lead innocent. That's not wooded out. You're a grown ass man. You have black people in your life because they're on your team and you don't understand. Were happening was coming from you. Know what I mean like. Don't like if you said that. She had a long time ago, and it was like a teenager. I might feel differently about it, but like no, you knew exactly what you're saying. And that's the thing to like with the media, and then also the white man. They want to change the narrative things, so it sounds better for them and worse for us so again cabinet was dishonoring the troops. How dare you, but he was taking a knee because of police brutality, but nobody wanted to talk about that and he got fired and blacklisted, and now everyone's like all damn like yeah, that's the. For something back then, and it's like really and then. You had your breezy like wobble then issuing an apology a day later, ruling never meant to hurt anybody I understand that there is injustice thin. Why did you say that yesterday like it's not like years apart when you had time to grow when all this stuff like you're just trying to save your ass at this point, but I was like man. I hope they do I. Don't know if you saw that movie. The movie with Adam Sandler called along yard. He goes to jail and he's. He's a football player. And then they play the guards, but he ended like messing up the game on purpose, because the word in threatened him, and then his team finds out so then they stop blocking for him, and he's just gains smashed and smashed, and he's a right right like you do. Try to win this game, but it's like I kind of hope that they like the Lineman. Just kind of be like oop and tip over, and then he could just get smashed one time to. Get. You deserve that. And I think you bring up important points, and that could translate to humans now the so the whole canceled thing because I think we also. Winning to own up to what we say, and also does it matter right like I've been corrected many times for things that I've said that I had to unlearn because I didn't know what. I didn't know what I say them again..

"And they are more open and more accepting, and that's all we can ask for you know so I'm hoping that it took all this craziness in literally for the world to be on fire. Because again it's not just America. There are protests all around the world, and hopefully now will start doing better because there's like. I might be elaborate, but like there's always there's been one thing that happens, and then we get mad and then another thing that happens, and then we get mad, but I think with a Motte Aubrey happening and again that video going viral in taking two months for prosecutors to do anything and then this happening right after. And he just yet Brianna Taylor. There's a couple other. There's multiple people that was a kid that was twenty twenty one year old kid who was getting arrested in front of his grandmother's house, and she fell in the mix of everything is poor old woman, and so there's just so much it's gone on, and the sad thing is. There are so many names you know what I mean like that's it. There's no fly about this and you forgot about that and you think about like three. Martin and Eric Garner, and then you know Kapernick. When he was taking a knee a couple years ago, and now he doesn't play the game, you know. He was blacklisted solutions so. So much going on, but again I just hope that especially with Colbert I was hoping that people would understand that we're all human beings, and we are all at risk through the now police brutality like the sane is black lives matter because of black people are being attacked unanimity book police brutality is bigger than that why people deal with police brutality Brown people will deal. Who's charity, but the fact right now is black. Lives matter movement were doing so like a really infuriates me when people are like Oh is matter and I'm like Bro Nobody said you didn't show I get so mad, but I try not to fight with people because they're kind of just fat. Totally I did see a video at the posted specifically for Brown people in your leg. We need to do better right. And I think especially for older generations that still have the colonize mentality of lake. They can't help but be racist because that's what they learned, and so that gets passed on, and we've seen the Latinos matter to, and so you were pretty vocal. Because my thing is this I grew up in like Machiavelli Sally I grew up around black, a grip around Asian a group Ron, white, Indian like I was in a melting pot in so I saw racism, but that was never me, and I actually got in my first fight, because a kid was making fun of my black friend like that. I remember that specifically like. Like wearing my Laker Jersey was brand new eight Kobe when it was blue, and like taking off, giving it to my friend Andrea and going up to the due to punching them in the face in front of balconies in Montebello. Lot of details are 'cause, I remember that specifically, but my thing is. It's really frustrating because again especially if you think about the hood. Hood Right, it's always been segregate black versus Brown right, and then the jails are very much like that so I have that experience for my cousin who's been in jail for years, and he would tell me Shit because of my friends and I'm like Yo. Do Lecture being alone. You know mean like any, but again I told them leave me alone, but then I didn't. Didn't tell him you're wrong. You know what I mean I was young, and so as I got older, I was able to be like no, that's not right like the that over there. This is my life and you're not gonNA..

"Black lives matter stands for? And of course we talked about and upcoming projects for her monies. I really hope you enjoyed this candid conversation with Chelsea here it is. Chelsea Lynn done welcome to govern Bam. I love the Hebron. Having me and six should have been drinking cafe. Right I should have no. I have a lot of a lot of people that don't drink coffee. Okay, perfect, so it's not a requirement to be here. Actually funny. Is that as a kid? I used to put Coca Cola in Coffee Mug, so that I looked like I was drinking coffee with my mom so. By, Majoring coca-cola's Cola's not have coffee Mug, but I couldn't imagine like Cold Bernabeu. Exactly, how it works, it works so Chelsea. How are you were talking? In the middle of a pandemic in the middle of black lives matter? Let's keep it to what it is. The week after George Floyd was murdered. It's been heavy in. It's. It's really hard because like for me. I have so many mixed feelings because all this is going on, and then also the end of the dodgers happened. I know why we're worried about. About the pandemic in covet in our families, and all that, and then with him getting murdered, and then again there's multiple black people that were murdered recently, but then the protests in you know the fact that it went viral, and all that going on, and then as I'm like literally like crying, watching the news and then I'm also like getting messages that Omega episode is Great. I'm so happy on this and I'm like oh my. My God thank you, but then I'm like crap. Like should I be celebrating this? But then it's also a celebration, but it's also not because now it's over so with that morning. Period of like this is officially the end. Yeah I had a breakdown I think it was on Friday. Night would last week two days before the finale was officially out, it was so many emotions going on and I I was definitely Volk on. On social media and I was like Yo. You have every right to fill whatever you're feeling. Don't let anybody police how you feel. We all don't know we all are lost, and we're all in this to get lost together, so don't feel alone. And I sent a Marco Polo crying so the cast of Yom like I just wanted you to know that love you so much and like at the end of the day I know. It was funny like there are UK. I am now so yeah. It's definitely been a crazy weekend a half two weeks since all this craziness has happened I know I think it's an intense year twenty twenty. So I know everyone's like. Can we restart this? Can we this or can we that well you know I? Think it's one of those things where there's a comedian that made a joke. Someone was taking. It was Chris Rock I. Think he said Bush Galas Obama. Then trump is going to bring us Jesus. You know what I mean like. They were going to be taking care of you know and it's like the darkest before dawn and brutality has been happening all the time for years and years and years, and it's been talked about before, but. The way it played out as Saturdays at George Floyd had to give his life to hopefully help the next generation, and you know the black community now and I really just hope that people grow from this,.

I mean people might be think twice about committing fraud when they turn around and see you know when when major you know Nacer Ashur made examples of it happens. I you know I like Clinton a lot you know. He is one of those players. Tommy you know over the years you know after their career here. Because he's been in the media a lot of us that may have had conversations with him or interviewed him when he was a player and didn't really know and knew him from afar. Is You know oh southeast Jerome and Sheriff GonNa get Ya and all of the other things. he is I mean I can only speak from my personal experience because I've done a lot of stuff with Clinton we've done that showtime show on NBC Four for Several years now. I've had obviously on the radio show and on the podcast so many times And I just considered him to be Very kind hearted and To have a great sense of humor So I hope these these charges aren't true When it comes to him but It certainly seems pretty serious. Yes that's for sure That's it for the day I was going to mention in just the Antonio Brown stuff. Did you see him. Go off on twitter yesterday. I mean he's clearly got issues. Somebody's gotta get him help. It's going to end very tragically that's twain in Haskins new wide receiver. Okay yeah that's true. ABC DC TO DC Beckham's instagram yesterday. "You never have to go to the post office again Coli Hawaii Leonard. Last night was welcome back with open arms by Toronto in such a crazy unique way like I think about Kevin Durant remember the first time he went back to okay see. Yeah and the treatment treatment got of course he wasn't a champion either going back to okay see and he wasn't the MVP. But I just thought it was really cool. Toronto's clearly a great sports town. I'm and they want a championship last year in the NBA Finals they won the NBA finals and Kawhi Leonard was the MVP any left and they they cared but they weren't about to turn turn their back on him and and he went back in their MVP chance in the game his championship ring and then he went out with the clippers and destroyed them. I felt less fans knew the the minute Kawhi Leonard got there that he wasn't long I know there I know I mean I think I think they realize that we had a moment where we accidentally got a got the best player in the League for season. And and you know it's. It's a moment that they've never enjoyed in the history of their franchise and I think a smart fan would say we were lucky to have that. I mean because most most most players are not going to decide to go. UH-HUH POINT TORONTO. Nothing to do with Toronto. It's one of my favorite cities. But you know I mean the whole Canadian tax thing it. There's a lot of issues that so you think Anthony Ren Donald be received in the same way Do the angels to the nets. They don't they play the angels in in California this year. Only out there okay. So he's not going be back this year maybe maybe in twenty twenty one and maybe in a world series maybe in a World Series Mike Trout Anthony reknown leading the angels against a against the the nats I think he would be welcome back his sort of the same thing. I mean he was such a special player and I don't think people will harbor ill will towards Anthony Right. I mean I think people weren't particularly passionate about Anthony Random one way or the other. Well they were after October after October. They were yeah I wanted to mention in one of the thing and I know it's NBA related. But it's really not although it is I guess but you're just GonNa Roll Your Eyes. Dwight Howard played in place for the Lakers. Is this year. Did you know that that and they went back to Orlando last night and you know there was a skirmish in hoping but did you know how. Well he's playing for the Lakers and let me just point out one thing we're having what it's December I understand that I'm saying let's say for career was completely over. You know here here where he never basically played he's gone to La and he's on the Lakers and he's playing. You Know Basically fifteen to twenty minutes a night. And averaging seven seven point seven rebounds in you know block in each game each night like he's actually playing in at a really good level as a bench player on a really good team. Obviously but I just I. It's crazy like he was here. Couldn't even stay healthy. Now he's in L. A.. And he's playing great again. Give him time. We got `Davis Protons could get a first round pick for him got he's spectacular to watch I guess we've got to.

"That's what I would do if I was a fan I. I wouldn't root for the Ravens if I was a Redskins Fan. I wouldn't do that that would like I mean like when I you know I compare it to when I was a mets fan and they traded Tom seaver and and I said that's it. I'm out until they sell the team to new owners. Turn around and Roofer Rookie Yankees you would have had to stuck. Needles does in my eyes for me to root for the Yankees. Oh my God and really the Ravens are not the equivalent of. I mean. The Ravens are not a rival of the redskins and so it's just financially right financially their arrival football rival Keno. Now I want to get to this comment about Dwayne Haskins so my man Bill Callahan. Practice yesterday wasn't headed a practice city really the bottom. NOPE and Callahan said. Afterwards he looked great. I think everything everything did an individual was seamless. I thought it was really clean. I thought it was flawless. I thought there were no setbacks. I saw fluidity. We moved him in and out of the pocket quite a bit. Today's well so if there was any apprehension possibly not testing it or looking at a deeply. We wouldn't have done what we did. There were a lot of movement actions a lot of different things we did on him on the perimeter so no there was nothing holding him back. He was fully clear it was just a very mild ankle sprain that he went through Sunday closed quote. It didn't look like Echeverri. Mild Ankle Sprain. A love the way like he's he's essentially laying out we. We basically did everything on the field today to tell him mm that we knew there wasn't anything wrong with his ankle and that he was overly dramatic on Sunday which he was. Don't we know that. Now how about an apology to your. Oh boy all of you demanding that I apologize because I accused him of faking injury. I never did that. I accused him. I suggested didn't accused him. I suggested based on you know personal life experiences. Occasionally there are people. When they're sick or injured they play it up big like I played a lot of basketball? The ball over my life. dudes have missed like a breakaway layup. And then all of a sudden they're limping going down on the other end of the court like they were hurt like that's why they missed it. dwayne wasn't wasn't playing. Well he did get an ankle injury. We saw the Preston Smith landing on the ankle. He played it up a little bit during the game he came over he was cleared. Why was he cleared? Because is it wasn't like there was a lot of issues with the with the flexibility with the movement in the ankle after they tested it but he was playing it up planet up big time and because of it Mandy he gets people riled up you know people in the media comparing him to the. Rg three situation. How could you do it? Callahan's is doing here is he's mocking you. Who thought he was seriously hurt and to a certain degree making sure that Dwayne knows you're fine? We had gone through all this stuff just to prove to you that we know that you're fine. He was fine. But when you when you talk about an ankle sprain mild. You don't say very mild ankle sprain trying to make the point usually usually I think I think I may have had that one right. I think you did and and look at more context on that faking K.. Not Faking just playing it up a little bit a little bit dramatic more context on that. Let's not forget the the press conference after the Detroit game where he was asked about missing the open wide receivers and instead of standing standing up there and saying you know I gotTa do a better job or there was some miscommunication on my part or something like that. He all of a sudden said. I had a wrist injury injury. Yeah you know and I think that was the first time that Bill Callahan ever heard that that Dwight that Blaine Haskins had a wrist injury in that game. Now I'm I'm GonNa take a portion of the show to be more positive about Dwayne Haskins because I am More encouraged more positive about him than you are. I think in a lot of other other people because I'm going to read to you. What Callahan said when he was asked about what Haskins has progressed in Housi- improved? It'd be specific. It was a long answer. It was like a three minute answer on this one so I'm GonNa read you just a portion of it because I thought this was interesting. Callahan said quote everybody. He is throwing everything at him when I like about him is nothing fazes him. He's got an unbelievable poise about him. He's got a calm that he recognizes recognizes the fact that he's getting heated up or seeing these different pressures and looks he's just absorbing it taking it all in learning going back to the bench sitting down with Kevin Kevin O'CONNELL and Timur going through it recognizing what he needs to do better and then trying to improve the next time around. I like that aspect of him. He's not a repetitive added of guy a repetitive mistake player where you continually see the small mistakes over and over again. He makes a mistake. He recognizes it. He moves on and and you don't see a repetitive error. Come back into his game. There's been a lot of growth in that. Respect closed quote. You know so this was who's part of like a three minute answer where he was being very positive about Dwayne Haskins and I it makes me immediately think back to in a September October. Where you know Callahan himself said Dwayne knows? He's not ready remember. He said that in all of the leaks coming out about his unreadiness about his lack of preparation about him not knowing the playbook etc etc.. which by the way just as a quick aside is why I think in these press conferences as some in the media believe he comes off is a bit smug or arrogant again I think he's just distrusting? That's what I'm seeing. I'm seeing a guy that is distrusting of the people in front of him because of everything that happened in September and October before he started to play which by the way a lot of it came from national pundits more than local people. So he's a victim already. No I'm not paying. That's that's the best him you trust somebody you think they did something to you. Okay if that's if that's your yes. Based on that I think he believes that he was a victim of some bad and inaccurate media. Attention that position for the REDSKINS game. But you know no. It isn't familiar. What isn't familiar is that He's not making continually the same mistakes over and over and over again because one of the things that Robert Robert Griffin the third did we were told this by multiple people including Mike Shanahan and others after the fact that he continued to make the same mistakes over and over over again and the reason he did that is he wasn't coach. -able remember what we were told was a griffin's favorite answer to any kind of direction or coaching yet. Yeah I got it I got it. I got it except for the fact that he never had it and then the next game he continued to back up instead of stepping into the pocket and it was the same mistakes. Repetitive petted. Mistakes over and over again. Busy didn't get it and he thought he had all the answers but he didn't. I love what Callahan said. First of all all about nothing fazes him because that was the my first hunch about Duane in watching him in a redskins uniform is that this guy is not the Kinda guy you rattle. This is not the Kinda guy that's going to become less confident because of poor results. He's competitive and he's going to feel always like he can do it and I love I love that about him and I do see a poise and calm about him. There've been a couple of big time throws he's made including on Sunday that throat a Sims on third and sixth the throat to WHO Kelvin Harmon on third and six or eight or whatever it was which turned into a really good throw where held on poised and threw it at the last second. And you know in in Harmon made the catch a great run afterwards. Set up the first score which came after the ankle injury As an aside but I am rooting being for Dwayne Haskins. I know people have tweeted me like it. Sounds like you're sort of rooting for him. I am because I think that he was. I think he took the brunt of some of this media media in some of these leaks and some of it was probably unfair and inaccurate and I think that even a guy like bill. Callahan is starting learning to recognize watching. Play that there's more to him than they thought in September and October and that he's not the the massive long-term project I'm not suggesting or or I'm not predicting and I'm certainly not convinced that he's the long-term answer quarterback. I don't feel that way yet. I don't but I do think that week in week out. We see more from him and I watched his press conference yesterday. I've been watching them all on Wednesdays and you know no. I think there's a little bit of an underdog element to him right now and so I don't I don't I'm not. I'm not predicting he's GonNa turn out to be great. I'm not There are some flags I don't know how red they are. You know Haskins and Haskins the wrist in the overly dramatic way in which he carried his ankle. Ankle around with them on Sunday But there's a lot to him. Also that I think you know is for me just gut tells tells me that he's got a chance and also tells me that Unless they could draft Joe Borough which they're not gonna be able to draft him that he's going to be the guy in twenty twenty twenty and I hope that you know. I don't think they're going to be a competitive team next year. More likely than not it's the NFL who knows but next year sixteen games will tell the tale on him and that you you can make the decision on him after twenty twenty but anyway go ahead. Well that's providing that Alex Smith isn't your quarterback he's here to quarterback. Okay I mean could be. I mean I think he's GonNa give me the GM for the Assistant G. He's got to have a voice. Yeah I got Redskins Front Office. Absolutely but he still thinks he can play so so I mean he's Co he's going to push that through. I just can't fathom how you are dismissing the not off the yes you are not yes you are because I'm not sure they are but those flyby read those flags given the team he works for are far worse. I understand I mean every all the issues that that I have with Haskins are off the field I mean I think he's had moments where he's played well. I think it's very difficult to judge him. Given the lack of talent and the poor coaching that he has to deal with so I. I haven't haven't seen anything on the field that tells me that he's a bust or that he's not going to eventually be success and he has had some terrific moments and everything you Said said about him on the field is true the off the field stuff though in an organization where that will only grow instead of being stifled stifled is a huge problem. THAT THAT DETROIT POST GAME press conference. I would run away from having a guy like that on on my team that that's so I mean. This is not any other franchises. The redskins where that kind of behavior gets rewarded fighting owner Doug Williams get through some of these people. I mean Doug Williams has to know when you re tweets his own pro football focus numbers that that's not. That's that's not a Doug Williams thing to do now I mean but I wonder what kind of any if he has any influence over anything in that organization. He's not got the key decision maker these things. If people out there did was maybe he would have more. Maybe maybe he would have more credibility ability if everybody in the locker room looked at him and said that's our GM. Maybe that would happen. So I I just think that you're you're you're you're in your wishful thinking on the on the Off the field stuff and victimizing him as as as as as you can you. I can say that based on pure definition that because I said he's distrusting of people that the he he views himself as a victim. That's fine but it's really not the way I feel. I don't think he's he's he's playing the victim role. I just think that he got burned a little bit here. You know in his rookie season because of the organization that he's in because there was shit that was leaked in people were making. He's not saying he was a victim was drafted when he said the league done messed up he already. I know SP- played the victims art right from the first night and charging fifty bucks ahead for people coming in shared draft night with him when he claimed that he just wanted to be with his family. which is why wasn't in New York or I'M NOT NEW YORK? Where was the draft this year? Nashville Nashville I I get all of that. I'm not I'm not naive to the to to to a those things potentially being things that will look back on and say of course. Of course it didn't work out And you know and a lot of those things could we could look at back at them at some point say he was immature. Look at how mature he is now in. Look Kinda players develop. That's possibly to people don't mature in this. Why do I do you think B.'s? I've heard this that. He is a good kid that he's not totally self absorbed like rg three was and that..

"You know taking care of Josh Norman. You know in doing right by Josh. Norman Norman is somehow like meaningful not so you meaningful. This is come on. This is coming from the owner. And you think I don't know I'm not coming from Bruce. Could be coming from Bruce. That doesn't sound like Rousseau. Could be coming from Bruce Bruce's a bottom line guy when it comes to money except that Josh was his Guy Yeah J.. That was one of those. It Josh in Sean Jackson. And then the Alex Smith Trade right you know where the big three you know different moves for him and then Landon Collins this year her and maybe he got pressured into that one. But remember Bruce Allen has made a career here in Washington of underspending for subpar players. I getting great contract value on very average to less than average players. That's going to be what I'm going to remember sound for a lot of things winning off the field you know damn good culture all of that stuff but good God you know this guy would fit in perfectly with the learners. What do you perfectly I see what what do you mean? Remember Broussin you speak of him in the past tense. I WANNA point out. It's Thursday December twelve right in the week that Bruce Allin was going to be jettisoned and he's still there in fact I think I read somewhere. He went with Dan to the owner. Apparently he's there so this doesn't sound like a guy. Oh God you're hoping for so much there's nothing right now Tommy's number one priority. In terms of local sports is for Bruce Allin to remain came in the same position if not given more power like wouldn't you love a press release. It says Bruce Alan he just he's the team president he's also been. I'm giving now additional responsibilities in the football operations the new head coach. Oh my God that would be a new head coach. I don't think he's coming back back. Well areas and I sat on the podcast and on the radio show last week. I said keep an eye on this week. Meaning right now right we could believe meetings for some news and and Lockenfora and I think a couple of others reported the same thing. We're not done with the week yet. Now we're not we're not but you know maybe come and close to beat the packers. I warned everybody. If you get a close loss or God forbid a win over the packers it could change every valley absolutely I look. I still think winning out against three division opponents while they got three games left right. Yeah all against the giants cowboys against three division opponents that totally changes the conversation on my God and they can you they call it they. They can beat the eagles they they can beat the giants. Imagine Imagine Bruce Allin Back Bill Callahan. Back you know. And somehow they're trying to sell that to you for twenty twenty. I mean people are locked into season tickets. You would have season tickets are ah you would have nobody there next year. Nobody there I know but you know they out rated Buffalo Baltimore. Yeah I know I know but still but I think there's more about the packers. Ah The opponent but still I mean I mean. We're that we have that. We're having this discussion now every week. That whose ratings are higher. It's something you never thought. Would how about the conversation that started yesterday. With the Scott Allens story in the post about you know how some die hard. Lifelong redskin fans are now rooting for the Ravens. I'm GonNa get to the Haskins thing in a moment. Remind me not to forget what Callahan said about Haskins. But how about that whole thing yesterday heavy. Did you write a column Monitor. Monitor radio talking about it. I was on radio talking about with Chad yesterday. I do think that there have been a handful of die. Hard redskins ends fans. who have who have changed allegiance? I think what you've seen. More is a generation of sports fans. Here that have grown up the younger fan. Yeah I know but that's not what we're talking. That's not what Scott Allen was right. I know that and I'm saying I was writing about somebody like me. Who decided because of their disgust? I'm going to root for the wave and I'm saying that that's not the biggest problem. The biggest problem I are the young fans and and the new fans moving to the area that decide. Yeah well you know my team was the Chicago bears. But I mean I'm I live in Washington I live in. PG county now. I live in Montgomery County and I wanNA root for the local local team. They're going to pick the ravens because the ravens there are a lot more fun and just as easy to get to from from any of these places much better lying stadium invest. Yeah so that. That's the big concern. The big concern are the new fans. I mean you should be concerned about the parents who have kids who you know. The kids often look to the parents to say. WHO's your team? That's going to be my team so there is some of that but I agree with you. Of course I mean my boys are not massive passive. They have no emotional connection to the redskins. The only connection they have the Redskins is me. You know in the time that they would spend with me watching watching redskin games you know. When they were younger they still care? I got two of my three boys will watch the Games and start to watch the games but like this year your I know there. They immediately turned the rest of the NFL. You know the red zone channel to watch the other Games. They're not they're not sticking with a loser like the redskins weakened in week out for three hours look at the presence and influence of the Ravens Ari. Problem it's a problem. I mean we can argue. How big of a problem promise but but it is a problem and the second biggest fan base behind the redskins in this town? NFL Wise Ravens cowboys cowboys. I think I do too. But that's been that's it's been that way it might be it might be that in every single. NFL City and in Washington. The cowboys have had a strong presence since since the early since the George Preston Marshall Days when a lot of African American fans root for the cowboys because the redskins didn't have black players and and the cowboys had a lot of them. And so that that that's rooted in some deep deep Generations the cowboys fans ends presence. Here so yeah I still think the cowboys would be the second biggest particularly in the city I think once you get out to Montgomery and PG county then it changes us more Montgomery County PG county but even there that that's the bat. That's that's where the ravens the Ravens would love. I I mean look everyone knows. I don't know if everyone those stories. But Steve Shoddy and Dan Snyder or not France there There was a confrontation according to the story at Steve Shoddy House that that was an embarrassing confrontation. I don't know the details of what we've all heard that SH- BUSHATI BISCHOFF was throwing a big party. That's neither showed up with you. Know some of his henchman. Whoever they were and at the front door said please tell Steve that that Mr Snider yes right. Yeah and Steve Shoddy basically said Mr Schneider really tell him to go fuck himself and he's not invited into the party. That's the story. I have no idea right through but but it it's a story that has a lot right right. I'm more or less. I think it was over a reference to the Mr Snider Reference Yeah. I don't know Dan said Steve for Shoddy Shaadi that you know my you know you call me Mr Snider or something like that. which he's done a lot of people over the years so so the Ravens would love nothing better than than to be able to tweak and bury the redskins as as much as they could run and there are certain limits that they can? They can't and they can't they. There's certain marketing marketing restrictions against them coming into the redskins market. But every other way they can they'll push the envelope. Well you know what's ironic. Is that like like. There are a lot of Oriole fans in Washington because we didn't have baseball for all those years. There are many less cates not comparable to the orioles fans in DC. But there are I hear from all the time. A lot of them listened to us have listened to us for years. You know when the when the colts left in in eighty four on that snowy morning in whatever march of eighty four whenever it was You know A lot of people because the Redskins were at their height you know they were winning super bowls goals and they were. It was the gibbs you know it was the gibbs era A lot of Baltimore Colt fans you know. They were so disgusted with what say done they. They rooted for the Redskins. I think you're overstating I I said it's not comparable to the Orioles fancier but there are i. I know a lot of them started to route from but it's it's a fraction of the sports fans that adopted the Orioles site. Okay I that making that point but there are some of them but anyway I just think I personally on the whole issue of you know jumping ship. It's okay in. This is my opinion. It's okay to to watch Seles to not spend money on the team anymore to not go to games anymore to not care to demand. Change to become apathetic I have a hard time. I'm believing that if somebody at you know call it thirty five years of age or older so they really had an attachment or had. The opportunity need to be attached to the redskins that they jumped ship for the Ravens or another team. I have a hard time believing that that person was a real loyal emotionally. Attached touched passionate fan to begin with. There's there's zero chance in the way I'm built that I could root for the Ravens is my a favorite team a root for the cowboys or the Eagles or adopt another team. I agree with Jude. I just couldn't do it. I agree with that. I'm disgusted with the REDSKINS. Yeah I make them right now. Having a position that that where you essentially do a personal boycott of the Redskins is not the same thing as changing allegiance leases and rooting for you know in this way a financial rival more than any other kind of rival. I mean if you WANNA make a statement and I know you scoff scoff at this but if you WanNa make a statement and root for a team go see the XFL. I'm really excited about cartel joan go CITGO CD. XFL Defense they fill that stadium every for every home game. What do you mean? They fill it if they haven't played a game if they feel for for all their home games and they represent any kind of competitive who owns. Football Vince McMahon. He owns all old team. He owns the leak. Yeah so I mean I mean that if you WANNA make a statement on another team show up at XFL Games..

"E. V. I N. D. C. Promo Code Kevin. DC At my bookie DOT AG. Kevin you know I I was just talking about about the VIP room at a Strip club which I'm unfamiliar. We heard about. I've told you stories about it because I heard stories you know and at at the time I was talking about it I get a call on my cell phone from Russia now. I've heard I've heard that there's Oughta Oughta Eastern European club would know about it. I I don't know that either. I'm kind of surprised about that But it's a unique a coincidence that I got a call from Russia. Yeah well when when I'm just having been in Russia no I've never told me before you've been the rush I haven't I'd actually like like to go heard it's fantastic. I have no idea why because I don't care you don't care about traveling you like to travel. Yeah Yeah I mean I don't why would I want to go to rush. Not Because I've heard it's spectacular and beautiful in the whole thing I I haven't been to any of the eastern bloc. I've been to Berlin but but I have not been actually I'd like to go to Prague because I hear Prog is supposed to be the the frogs great too. Yeah so that's that's pretty much it other than that. I've not take your interest. Is there a place that you'd like to go other than Prague. What's on your travel? Slow on an island. I've never been I haven't either. I WANNA go okay so I want to go to island and I like to go to Alaska. I've never been to Alaska not another country. I realize thanks left eaters. I just want to point that out not another country but you can see Russia from Alaska. Yes you can yes you can other than that you know. I'm curious about about Africa Because I really do think that over the next twenty to thirty years that there's going to be tremendous opportunities for -tunities in Africa in terms of growth and change but as far as traveling. I've been Australia. I've been to Italy. I like to go back to Cuba. I've been the south. I I mean my job took me to a Lotta places. Yeah I was very lucky Islands is now on the top of my list. There you go That's a that's at the top OPPA. MYLA's too I I'm going to do with my three sons at some point in the very near future we're going to do you know sort of race in Ireland and maybe Scotland Combined Gulf trip. You know where we that sounds great. I think that's what we're GONNA do. It's an I I haven't been to Ireland so when he's going to do and I'd also like to go to Newport beach which is not out of this country but after talking about Orange County and thinking about Newport beach and how beautiful it is it'd be great to get out there for a few days when it gets cold. When are you going to do this? Trip you know you gotTa stop talking about it. You're right about that and we've talked about it and talked about it as a family and we're GONNA do it. Maybe this coming summer if not the following summer for sure the problem it's a it's always a problem is now my oldest. You know he's not in school he's out working. He's got a job. We can half off a healthy for me to take a week Anapa but not in the summer we can do that. All right So yesterday Bill Callahan. My Guy Bill my man Bill Callahan. Had Oh my God Tommy. This press conference yesterday was fourteen minutes long. I've told people this before and it somebody asked him. How do you know what? Because all of these press conferences. This is are available to all of you in some of you said how do you listen. You're not out there right. And I know they're all online gonNA REDSKINS DOT COM com. Go to you know. EAGLES DOT COM. They put all of their press conferences. Up there for you to watch and you go through a bunch of NFL sites and look at the Wednesday press conferences from the coach. His you'll see most of them average six seven minutes eight minutes tops. He's got him at thirteen. Fourteen fifteen sixteen seventeen minutes being a member of the media media you would you. Would you should welcome that. Well he gives you more content. They're true you go he. He's just trying to explain. Thanks he's he does take some time explaining things so there were two things Yesterday that he talked about that were interesting to me. Number one was In his comments about Dwayne Haskins which will get to in a moment and then number two. And you missed the conversation yesterday that I had with Aaron and all AH everybody that That listened to the podcast yesterday About Josh Norman and how he continues to be active even though on Sunday he he didn't a second straight week he didn't was out there for one snap special teams or defense and was only one of two players who wasn't on the field for a snap in the game I'll start there and I'll come back to Haskins in a moment because the Haskins conversation may require many of. You demanded an apology for me on Monday I may. They actually demanded an apology from you. On what on what Callahan said about Haskins. Yeah some of you may have to cover your ears for this one. You may have to so Josh Josh Norman. Tommy has not played a snap. The last two games on Sunday. He was one of only two players that didn't play snap. The other one was case keenum. Although many of the people out there think the case keenum should have been in the game He has in his contract. A five hundred thousand dollar annual bonus which gets it's divvied up into sixteen weeks thirty one thousand two hundred and fifty dollars a week for being on the active forty six man roster last week against Carolina. This Guy Chris Odem remember him number played really well after being signed off the scrap heap earlier in the week. Yes and he was down fully healthy. He was a he was a healthy scratch. And yet Josh Norman was up for the game and you know Goldie was actually she talking about it yesterday morning as I was on my way in and I thought wow when it's it had me thinking about a lot of things which I'll get to with you in a moment. I don't want to be repetitive from yesterday's show but I do want to have that conversation briefly with Tommy but it is insane if you have no intention of playing Josh Norman to have him him up and active. When you've got a guy in Chris Oldham that played really well that you may WanNa see more of? I mean all these young players should be getting these minutes. You've already decided sided. That Josh Norman is not going to play for you. You an injured players on Saturday at the corner position. Moreau went out came back in Dunbar was hurt and any still did not go into the game. Didn't play one snap in the game. I think if they had lost another corner case keenum may have gone again to the play corner before Josh Norman in so yesterday once again Callahan was asked about Norman being inactive in the game and these were among his shorter answers on why Josh Norman remains active quote. He's in some different packages and he's still up and in a role all where we could potentially play so that's his role as it stands right now shortest answer of the entire press conference by miles. Then he's asked a little but later on. I think it was by Ben Standing as a follow up on Josh Norman Basically but you know he wasn't you you had injured players and he still didn't play a snap and he said and then and then Ben followed up again and said what does he need to do to get back onto the field just to cont- in Callahan said quote. Just continue to work and be himself improve on all aspects of his game as we are. We are looking for a few more players. Danny Johnson's it's come up. They just brought him up. He came out of the PUP and we put him up this week Sudan. He will be up and we're looking at him and CO WTN's getting a little bit more of a look so we're looking at all these DVD's because of where we're at late in the year and we're just trying to get a little bit. More evaluation of the younger players close quote really. Didn't answer the question because he doesn't have an answer for the question because in my particular opinion it's not his decision not his call. Even though remember he demanded roster control. Somebody is putting Josh Norman and demanding that Josh Norman be active. I think in this I it could be completely off but it makes sense to me that somebody's got him up there because they want him to continue to collect these bonuses and my question is why why. Why would they cave and Kowtow in genuflect to Josh Norman while simultaneously? Are you trying to bleed figuratively Trent Williams. Exactly exactly if the idea is to show to players that that that you're not you're not gonNA hurt them that you're you're going to support them. That ship has sailed with Trent Williams. It's so ridiculous I don't and so when I heard the I just gave you the quotes from the answers yesterday Callahan. I guarantee you if he's active again on Sunday. Maybe the pressure in the questioning. actioning of this is going to make the redskins reconsider on Sunday. But if he's up again and dozen play a snap and you've got younger players healthy that are down will then. I mean we've already seen it two weeks in a row so you have to question already right why they've done that And maybe you know. Maybe he'll be down this week. Maybe they'll feel the pressure of some of these questions and say it's becomes too obvious they were trying to get josh some of this extra money. It just it's stupid it's so them it's so and I and I said yesterday and I'll and I'll shorten it because many of you have already heard it and you listened to it yesterday and you agreed with me most of you. It just made me think about what they are as an organization about how you know they tend to focus on things that don't help winning you know and I went through. Aw All of their community involvement all of their charitable you know causes you know we know because we worked for the station that was owned by Dan Snyder. How important a lot of these charity events vents? In how important how often we got asked to go to an event with Ryan Kerrigan was somebody else and this is what they really lived for these things things community things and there's nothing wrong with that and I made that very clear yesterday. It's all the be applauded and admired. But it's always been the most important thing for the owner you know Ryan Kerrigan should have been traded but Ryan Kerrigan is. Hey True Redskin. Dans is this is a guy. That's been a true redskin. Even even though his record as a redskin a is fifty six eighty six in one. That's the team's record since Ryan Kerrigan has been here with zero playoff wins and but that's important to them and they they're already beginning to make plans for his ring of fame induction and I mentioned yesterday. Let's hope they don't do a London Fletcher with Kerrigan. They spell his name correctly. But it's always been so important to them and many people said. Did you take too far there. I think maybe part of my perspective comes from knowing in in in in dealing with with them. These are the things that matter. It's what doc always said you know. Basically comes comes from docks theory about the Redskins that nobody does Monday through Saturday better than skits. It's game days. That have always been the challenge in part of it. Is that the owner. He doesn't know anything about football. He doesn't know how to win in this sport. "It and we can justify it because look at. We're we're projecting in revenue because of increased attendance and increased is television stuff. And I know there's a whole mess mess still going on. And then they're gonNA get their money itself so in the value of the franchise even though we'd never intend to sell it. It's going to be in the family for four decades and generations to come. The value of the franchise is going to go up Maybe we we change for this specific person because you know what we do know who this person is. He's our own. He's a great player. He's a star player. He's clutch player. He's a low maintenance player. He's a great teammate. He's a beloved loved player. That just went through a month along with Strasbourg that is we talked about the other day matches. Maybe only Reagan's in January of eighty eighty three forms of postseason all time performances. And maybe you know this is the one. We've we've veer off our normal track for but I don't think think that clearly there's also in there a little bit of a defiance you know like we proved it to you that we could do it by not by structuring. The deals feels that we want them structured. The players don't like it. We'll win without him. We won without Harper. We can win without random. I do. I would like to understand more about the structure. These deals because It was made I was told yesterday maybe or maybe this morning that there is interest interest payments involved in this in this deferred money. I'd love to know what that interest rate is because you can do the math on this and I'm not suggesting that Boris and don't don't do the math on this clearly. The deferred contract structure is not as appealing as a structure that doesn't have deferred money. That's obvious to anybody. Basically you're not getting the value value of that money today in the value of that money working for you for the next many years. It's working for them because they're holding onto it and they're not paying you for another ten in fifteen years or whatever it is and in parks case you know. It was reported that the last payment of the deferred money was in twenty fifty two. Yeah which I can understand that that would be a bit of an off-putting way to present a deal at some. If if you want to feel truly wanted it. That's not the kind of deal that's going to convince somebody Eddie that that that they should stay right now the Strasbourg you know. He didn't have a problem with it but remember. He didn't have a problem in two thousand seventeen or twenty sixteen signing a deal that was much under market value writing to most. He wants to be here yes you know so they were going to have to come up with something different. We're GONNA find out By the way I would think at some point and buried in have that information if they ever came back in up there offer from the September offer of two hundred and fifteen million over seven years. I would assume that after what he did in October. That that offer Went up some. If they had a new offer that it went went up at some level call. I wouldn't assume that you would now. Okay well because if you just said that they came back and they offer to twenty five for seven. You're talking about in real dollars before you get to the deferred. It was a true seven year to twenty five the difference difference of three million a year between that in the angels offer. I know and that's where you get your like really. Yeah but again. It's not you know that's not the way to compare it because the nets that's author would have had significant deferred money right He's GonNa be He's GonNa be missed. You know I think heart. I know that people think they won. The World Series is because Harper wasn't here. I don't really understand that. That mindset. Maybe it's true. Maybe the law the clubhouse was different may be it lent itself to more you. You know Winning Environment Without Harper. There I don't. I don't get that. I think Harper was a great player by the way turned out to have a pretty damn good year in his first year in Philadelphia. L. Fia but They had they had robe. Licensed in Soto. They're you know they have sort of an answer. They don't really have an answer here unless of course worse. They're GONNA do what everybody thinks they're going to do in that is go out and pay a thirty four year. Old One hundred million over four years right and Donaldson and you don't know how he's GonNa fit right well. He's apparently a different different character. Yeah Yeah so you don't know how he's GONNA fit in to a remarkable. I mean the best chemistry that national team has ever had at this point. Why that's why? How Kendrick WanNA reasons? Howie Kendrick wanted to come back right? Because he recognized that this was something unique and something special. Oh that you can't necessarily replicate anyplace else Again you know the time to sign learn. The time Simon Dawn was before four. He went to free agency at any point. They could have done that. They knew what kind of player he was You know he he capitalized on. MVP caliber season. But even before that he he was a terrific player and again they knew their money wouldn't be wasted they might overspend. They might pay. They might have paid him more than they thought he was worth but their money would not have been wasted at that point so oh so now now we move on and then we. We're not moving on yet because because we got to see how the national because we with you just have to remember what this dude did over the month of October I know he hits three twenty eight he had three home runs and fifteen. Rbi He is. He hit a home run in the eighth that cut it to three two two. Before Sodas home run in game five against the dodgers. He had the home run against cranky. That basically led. Aj hinch to believing that was just a mess which may have been the key. Winning that Game God did he deliver. It could argue. They don't win. The World Series Without Rendell Dahlie delivered in such a way that I don't know it's appealing to me in the same way. Collide Leonard's appealing to me. It's like there's no there's no look at me there's no self-absorption there's there's no craziness on social media. You knew what you had in him. You had a first class clutch performing a player who right is entering his prime. At that point he's twenty nine years old he's entering his prime and there's certain level that would to think that that you can just go out and replicate this by getting another player. You try to tell them. They're being arrogant right. After they won the world series and they can point to all of these massive real estate properties and developments in communities that they own it which is why they're real estate business. They are the richest owners reports in all of baseball. And how many how. How many billions are they worth? What what what level? I don't know I don't know why I I don't know either skits billions. I know it's probably five at least I'm going to look that up. I I remember reading this recently You know maybe Rendong also just like some more laid-back lifestyle like I was thinking about the whole in a you mentioned you know southern California in the the Christian thing in Orange County but man when you live in southern California in Orange County you're playing in Anaheim and you can go you know and and hang out at Newport Beach Laguna beach and some of those places that are like twenty minutes away thirty minutes away. What's wrong what's wrong with doing nothing talk with Dewi Beach? Nothing's wrong with Bethany beach at all. But maybe you know maybe the lifestyle you know something you know that fits his instead. Certain certainly what we see outwardly. This personality of Total laid-back. Calm you know easy going. You know yell it's maybe in like like the rat race in the real difficult media market that is Washington DC crazy. I'm not crazy about that. But what's interesting is Last spring when he met with reporters Ran Don't basically went out of his way to say. Boris works for me. Okay remember that yes. Yeah and and again I think that the not know deferred money was strictly a random thing because Boris's use so working with the learns done on it I read did I mean did Harper basically tell Boris and the thing about the corporate deferred but but again the Harford deferred. Money was not as an was. Not The figure that everybody repossess which you've said well it's true. Okay I mean it wasn't one hundred dollars in the Strasbourg. Sure Zor rendition tone deferred. Yes it was it was it was so much deferred money and so out in the future that it was almost an offer that he couldn't accept. Well all all I know is the present. According to the Players Union form formula the present day value of that deal was two hundred sixty seven million dollars which is which is which is around three million short of the phillies offer right but also right about his story three hours more than what Boris's media minions reported okay. They reported it was one hundred. Eighty million dollars present-day value. We're parsing millions of dollars year million dollars sixty seven seven three thirty three thirty to sixty seven and one eighty oh I I was comparing it to the phillies and I'm comparing it to what I actually reported by by Bore Senate and his media army was they found was who was it that reported the hundred eighty eighty. It was VERTUCCI. Yeah that it was basically came out to one hundred eighty four million and that's not true two hundred sixty seven million. Okay Goodbye. Anthony still not a move to convince a guy to stay no matter what you say and again you know I mean this. There's there's a level of arrogance at play here instead of having the vision to say You know it's it's like being in the Strip club and you finally get in the VIP. I P room. Oh God don't do that. And and now you gotta stay in the VIP room. No no no no no not. The rooms are trapped. He got that away you can try to get in you finally got the VIP room. Now what are you going to do to stay right. Stay Away from the VIP Aka the Champagne Lounge. Stay away from it. It's a trap all right it when we when we come back like like. I'm breaking radio after this three. We're GONNA talk a little Bill Callahan. And and what he said yesterday about Twain Haskins and Josh Norman but first a quick word about mybookie DOT AG. It's an exciting time for sports. You got Thursday night football Aaron and I gave you out to free winners yesterday. Didn't we Aaron Illinois Rutgers We did give those out on the podcast right. y'All we definitely measure them they were. They were odd-looking king point spreads like the Maryland Penn state line was the night before rutgers won outright beating Wisconsin last night is a favourite and Illinois won outright beating Michigan again as a one and a half point favorite. I don't have anything for you. Tonight have already looked at the College Basketball Board. There really aren't any games. I was state plays Iowa And I don't like the foul tell you right now on the smell test no pick tonight. Although that line for the jet a Raven game keeps going up at sixteen and a half. Now Jackson's GonNa play. What is almost is? It's almost the line that the Baltimore Colts had over the New York jets and Super Bowl. Seventeen I think it was seventeen. Seventeen point in nineteen now wasn't neither nineteen. I might have been eighteen. It was it was seventeen. And then the chiefs. I think were thirteen. And a half or fourteen are the vikings were the next next year for the chiefs and then there's also one so that that's a Baltimore lot line that's close to the super bowl line there. You Go So it is an exciting time of the year. The holiday time all the football all sports going on great time.

"You want it you need it. It's what everyone's talking about the Kevin Sheehan show. Now here's Kevin. You're listening to the sports. Fix Today on a Thursday Tommy's here errands here and I am here and we had news last last night and the news was Anthony. RENDON is gone. You predicted it. You're the first to say think that Strasbourg will be back in. Probably not on Anthony Ren d-o-n so why isn't Anthony Rendon back Tommy well. According to the reports that came out of the winter meetings and San Diego that whatever offers that were made by the nationals including the typical learners deferred money offers and and supposedly random didn't want any part of that the offer that he he agreed to in in With the angels has no deferred money. It's the full mount whatsoever ever now the deferred money was fine for Sherzer. He was okay with it. Strasburg was okay with it. And then they tried to pitch this angle that Strasberg's deferred money any would give them a chance to sign anti Riendeau and I knew that was that was just a board fairy tale You know about you know that Strasbourg. Being the great great teammate was was gonNA get Anthony and the sign there but he's gone and really what the nationals did is. They chose a thirty one. One year old pitcher with Tommy. John Surgery History over a twenty nine year old probably the second best third baseman in baseball baseball about to enter his prime. That's what they did. Ya Buries her Luga mentioned to me this morning. You know he had the the report. In September number of of what the Nats had offered right Jones he wondered if teen million between two thousand fifteen for seven years with the deferred money not matching the level of different money Johny for harper more like the deferred money for sure and what we presumed to be the deferred money for Strasbourg but he said that he always felt like Anthony Rendova had one foot out the door while Strasbourg always had one foot in the door. And I don't know that anybody in buried wasn't necessarily able to explain Blaine specifically why other than maybe the the contract structure which you know according to come in was a problem for rent on But I to wonder why you know Anthony Reknown may have been you know sort of predisposed in his own mind to leaving Washington. You had mentioned to me and I I referred to this yesterday. I think on the radio show maybe on the podcast you said to me. I don't know as a year ago was before the baseball season. You said Anthony Rangoon's a person that doesn't like change. She doesn't like to be the center of attention. And by the way signing with the angels with another major superstar on the team and his Aaron pointed out the second most important baseball team even in the way that he is going to be very much sort of in the background even though he gets the big money he's not going to the expectations and the lime in the spotlight aren't going to be super a bright and and Super high so but you said to me. He's a guy that doesn't love change that he's sort of a creature of comfort and that you know that that may work in the nats favor that he won't WanNa leave this situation that he's become very comfortable in but ultimately why did he leave before we get to this the structure of the contract because maybe if they had offered him an aeronautical style deal money-wise with not you know significant or with no deferred money. Maybe he would have substate. But do you think it was more than just the money or the contract structure you know I mean. It's just so speculative at this point his best friend on the team that since he's been here was Daniel Murphy and he saw Murphy go from New York to Washington to Colorado so he seen his best friend move around. He realized that that that's the way that's the business of baseball. It's not the end of the world and went when you move from one team to another I'm sure He probably took some advice from Daniel Murphy in that sense but You know ran. Condone is is such a strange cat the nationals did all they could to try to connect him to the community by making him the designated aided player to be on the board of directors for the Youth Academy and figured that you know maybe you know like making him part of that community the effort would give him more ties but he just he just. He's always been a distant kind of player. I mean you know. He's come out and said he he doesn't WanNa play more than five or six years even though he just signed a seven year deal So he's he's a different kind of cat who You know when when when you talk to him. He's great to talk to but he doesn't like to talk to you. You know in in that sense now. Here's the other thing thing. Is this a deciding factor. No I'm sure absolutely not but if I were to angels and I were selling Anthony Ramdan. Anti Randolph is a devout Christian. He did an interview with with a minister earlier this year. That said he wants to be known as more more of a Christian than a ball player. So it's very important him. This was his connection with Murphy both devout Christians. Well he's going. He's going to wonder under the Christian capitals of the World Orange County and L.. It is I mean. This is where the mega churches were built. That's where the crystal the Robert Shore our power came from also a very conservative county. Yes but it's very I mean this is. This is where the mega churches were born in Orange County. And I'm sure you know it didn't hurt. If you're the angels to sell him on that but ultimately it was probably the money I mean it was probably the money but I mean. Are you surprised that it was the angels and not the Rangers like some work at home. Yeah I am because I thought I thought the Rangers had I mean it turns out that you know Arne Merano went to the At at the end at the winter meetings he owner of the angels really wanting Anthony Rendong really wanting to make the move form. I didn't expect at that I'd say if it wasn't for him. The Rangers probably would have been the front runner. Now I might want to point out that the nationals had two thousand nine hundred ninety ninety nine days to sign Anthony Ren d-o-n without anybody else competing with right. So do you give how much he do you you can. Do you give the learners for getting this done a lot. I mean you know the minute. Bryce Harper signed with Philadelphia. The next stay they should signed Anthony Rendell. They weren't aggressive enough. No they when they when there was no angel to talk to know Rangers to talk to him. They they they just they just treated it like a typical learners negotiation and people will say well you know I mean look even Rizzo had some and questions about investing a lot of money and rendall and I know in spring training I had heard that renaissance wanted Jose altuve money and the nationals and and and the front office balked at that. But I mean at that once Harper left there was more to signing ringtone than just whether or not he was worth the money. You knew he wasn't going to be a bust. He had played long enough and had performed well enough particularly in the year. Before where you a new year money wouldn't be wasted. I mean you might be paying more than you think you should for at the time maybe twenty five home runs and one hundred. RBI is and and maybe it to ninety average but he wasn't going to be a bust. Okay the nationals overpaid a ridiculous amount of money to bring Jason Jason Worth The Washington for reasons other than baseball. I mean that's the whole point of the word signing was a signal to the rest of the of were surly industry that we're serious about one so they've done it before they've overspent money before on a player for reasons other than baseball. They needed to do that again with Rando now the you know the nationals Two of their three number one picks from two thousand nine two two thousand eleven have walked away Bryce Harper and Anthony Ren Don I I think the learners you know made a mistake their their payrolls high they spend money but you know they had an opportunity to bring back the team that was arguably the best team in baseball From the end of May on last year was yeah and then and like my point out a chance to build something here that would make the Washington nationals the premier franchise in all baseball not the Yankees. Not The dodgers not the red sox. I mean you know what's better than one world series two world series. Why not three world series? You know why not why not think bigger why not think about. We've got an opportunity here. We have right now a great baseball team. That's together and we have a chance to bring them back next year and and without a one thousand nine hundred thirty one start. Maybe this time so I just think it's a lack of vision. It's always a lack of vision when it comes to these people. It's a bottom line mentality and a lack of being an a lack of boldness envision as you were talking I was thinking Ed. Hey I agree with you That you know that they should have been more bold. They should have had more vision and they could have gotten a deal. That was probably probably favorable for them. That would look great today. Yes you know a similar fashion. I'm not making an apples to apples. Comparison parison with Kirk cousins. All right I'm not doing that. Ren Dones a superstar and champion. I understand that but it's the same lack of vision. The redskins had with cousins. They could have gotten him on the cheap essentially you know and it would have looked really good down the road but as you were talking about the learners you know it occurred to me that these are people who first of all are very financially disciplined. And they've got a philosophy financially and when it comes to operating this team they've had a philosophy financially and the worst time to tell someone like that to think differently is right after they won. Yes it is. So they're not going to all of a sudden change the way they do business after winning the world series in fact there's probably something in them that says we'll show again no harper last year. No random this year this is the way we do business and we'll figure it out more when it again next next year. I'm I'm sure they're probably agree with me. That that's the moment where you need to step on the gas even even more definitely when you're leading the race but people who are conservative. You know financially in very disciplined. It's hard to shake Jacomb from their spot especially when they're having success and they've had success in business they've had success in baseball and now there are champion in baseball. Also you're not going to get them off their game. The only thing that I would say is first of all. They should have had the vision and should've seen earlier. Yeah and done something about it but when you have that kind of financial philosophy and discipline you know you can coming off a unique circumstance. A unique unique win which is the world series which with it brings increased revenue unexpected increased revenue unexpected increased valuation nation in your franchise value. That maybe then you can just come off your market a little bit and say you know what let's go forward again. And this guy's crucial crucial to it and so maybe we do veer off the path here that we've always stuck to because we just did something that was utterly unique for totally a unique for us which is win the whole thing and baseball and.

"Dozo with Sunday it baseball's Jessica and does and Jess Wow that game last night was insane that's the kind of name I got to tell you do the post-game work and you go back to the hotel and you're staring at the walls in the hotel room wide awake because you have so much his rental in and I was what about you because eventually I did go back to sleep but you had to get up like three hours later to get up this morning yeah it was up at five and then you write everything and I know now I have such an appreciation for writers because I like to give all of because I know that everyone that I'm working with this morning didn't watch the game and so I basically the right everything that I feel like we're the highlights of things I want to get into all the stuff I need them to look up graphics Oh that's put me up until one two in the morning and the I'm upset if I walk into work and getting ready to go so I'm a morning person it's been the nights that like that's why I'm so excited about this game six because I'll tell you what there's been a couple of games this world series where I'm like fighting sleep in the sixth seventh innings. I've only got a few hours this one I mean buster there were times I was jumping on my bed in my hotel room liking the TV Blake I'm sure my neighbors the hotel do not appreciate I'm like come on the world series game six you should be watching it was it was a nutty gate for the most part we'll put it this way in the first five games the world series there was one lead change last night we had two plus all the craziness for that game distinguish itself from the rest of the world series and I've got a laundry list of stuff to get tune we'll get into all of what happened last night but let's start with this I thought you know Dave Martinez what an emotional night like he goes absolutely nuts during the course of the game we're in the seventh inning stretch and he looked down the field and all of a sudden I see Dave Martinez being restrained by one of his coaches and he's going after the umpires he winds up getting a in our life by the Japan and their life go ahead the one who's restoring him he's gotTa winds up being rejected first manager in twenty three years to be objected from a world he's game and then after the game you get knuckleheads like me going in there and ask you know the right questions about how he felt in that moment and what did you think about the call I Dave Martinez handled it perfectly because he's like you know what I don't WanNa get any that I don't want to talk about that and he said it respectfully he said I I understand but you know what it's all about game seven in so many words and that's exactly what I thought he should have done in that moment considering what the outcome was there was no reason for him to relive all the details game unless they lose like I feel like and not that you want to relive it anyway and you WanNa take the high road but there was a moment there and this is for the people who weren't watching the game live but when you're watching it live during the entire time empires had the headsets on that that the showing trae Turner in the out just the emotions completely I mean honestly watching the broadcast they were bleeping out every other word was coming out of that dugout because it was so much emotion it felt like that something we're gonNA WE'RE GONNA be talking about this moment for years because in that moment it felt like the nationals are gonNA lose this game and this is why it's GonNa be because of this so I think Dave Martinez would have been a completely different person had anthony rendon day income and hit that home run I think then he would have been a lot more but when you win the game and it's like why go back in blow up that entire call a hundred percent and that's what I thought was really smart by him to not go back and relive that because they won the game and they force game seven and game seven will be started by Max Scherzer who chess on Sunday comes walking stiffly into the interview room in front of reporters he When he was answering questions he wasn't turning his neck he was sitting in his wheelchair and turning the whole swivel chair to talk to reporters and he was so down he gets a cortisone shot which pitchers talk about is being such essentially a miracle drug and then yesterday when we walk into the Ballpark here in Houston he's in catching the outfield and goes to Intel's Day Martinez I'm ready to go and you get the feeling that this could be something that could fire or at the players I asked David about that before the game yesterday about you know whether or not the players might rally around this any mentioned that time when Max fouled the ball off he was on face broke his nose and the next day Texan picture instead I'm good to go and he started that day with the black is Dave said that got the players fired up I gotta believe tonight there'll be so much adrenaline Max on the mound especially because I mean from that press conference buster and and for those of us that know him he was devastated Leanne devastated on Sunday that he could not help his team and I felt like it worked in the reverse like he could not hide the emotion of how much he felt like he was leading his team down and because of that and not because that's the sole reason they lost by any means at all but I felt like the team reacted to his devastation and not just him not pitching the overall vibe that he was giving like I feel awful that I can't pitch in game that I'm supposed to I think it works in the reverse for game seven because he is battled on everything he can the cortisone shot I think my only concern was shirt tonight is we've seen in his starts in this postseason him go one hundred ten and plus pitches how much length can't he give this team now the good thing is you know Daniel Hudson Sean deal those two pitchers you can use anybody pretty much out of the bullpen and there is more options for Dave Martinez out of the bullpen but what we've seen is they need length from these starters how much length can shares her bring your stuff was just flat from the get-go the guys more pitches than anybody in baseball this year over four thousand he just he just didn't have it and I think it was because he he's tired at the end of a long year and right that's the question about Max tonight on the other side we're GonNa see Zach ranking who's also looked tiredness postseason and I would assume that he's he followed by Garrett Cole I talked to Garyk before game six and asked him about how his ability with game seven was something he was handling because of the flight on the day last turn it had a similar situation where normally I would pen on day two but since we were flying I decided to it settled in DC and throw my pen on day three which for this week sets up pretty much the same exact way and I felt really good last week on day three so I'm just taking the same routine did last week to prepare for the bullpen as I'm doing this week to prepare for possibly having to pitch game seven yes I think he's GonNa wind up pitching like innings four through six tonight what do you think yeah I think so I think this is something that you definitely see and I think just for the royalva nats I mean to be able to get to that grinky you know the point that they want to be able to do they're going to have to do it early and once they do that knowing what is looming in the bullpen and that's one thing opposite of the nationals is the astros have so many guys that they can go to and Garrett Cole who has been the ultimate throw down the hammer are you know for the scene the one point I have to make with Garrett Cole and I know we've seen it so much but the last time he has pitched in relief you go back to his freshman year at us Cla I went and looked at this against the ant eaters gave up a winning run I mean this is like I know it's liked onion cheek like it's been how long since he was a little frothy with the Bruins this is something that I do think fans that now we've seen it time and time again from Randy Johnson no Madison Bumgarner these star pitchers come out of the bullpen it's not as easy is it looks folks he's talking about it being similar to bullpen game he's never done it really he's never done it as a professional he's never done it with the Astros this is something that I think you definitely look for especially early on if he's coming in mid inning what what is he doing where's his heart rate because it's definitely different than than coming in just as the starter all right let's dig into game six last night we'll start with this golf clap or were runners on base pitching backwards coming back and counts by throwing off speed pitches he was just absolutely composed and in the end despite the fact that Max Sherzer got up at one point in the sixth inning there Stephen Strasburg still out on the mound in the ninth inning what a performance the fifth five no yeah this amazing to me again Jose Altuva and I remember in the moment I sent this
