"You're clearly trying to stop this. You're truly clearly trying to create a deterrent. Why would you then why would you allow 20 more people to enter afraid, Jeff? Why would you do that? Just say you guys, let the 22 on 22 is fine, right? Whoever or how many people are on a major league bench at any given time 30 on a bench? Yeah. But 30, 35. I mean, I'm including interpreters here now as clearly the baseballs disciplinary committee did. That's what I'm saying. Human beings, all human beings with fists and the gumption to want to throw them. Why are we adding 20 more people to the front? It's a simple fix. When you have that number of people who are on the benches already is keeping the relievers out of it really going to make it back. I suppose there could be a hothead in there who is going to throw gum. And so peanuts throw peanut bins. You know what I mean? That was the other thing too. That was the circus like aspect of it. It's all over, and here comes a guy who's pissed about getting ejected, throwing gum route. Now players are picking up gum off the infield. Like, what are we doing? I mean, I don't know. Can I be honest with you? Yes, sir. My favorite part of what's that thing was Rendon going left handed, like you did on the swing against Brett Phillips. Did he connect? Did he connected like he did around Phillips too? This is a pretty good shot to the face. But my second close second favorite part was the slo-mo shot of price hello glaciers seeding the field. That was awesome. Is it the first instance of an interpreter ever being suspended by baseball? For an on for an on field incident to my knowledge, yes. And I mean, the ancients be able to replace him as an interpreter, or will they just have a communication problem for those two games? I think that one day it may be problematic. It just makes sure it's not on the day. Well, if we look at the rotation, I don't know that there's a Spanish speaking starter. This trout trying to get hooked on phonics real quick over the next two days to try and contribute in that respect. I'm trying to lighten it up a little bit here, I guess. Oh man. I appreciate it. Jeff passon, thank you for the time, sir. Really appreciate it. Always enjoy our chats. Enjoy the time. The quiet time at home. Take care brother. I'm going to go do some chores. Okay, and throw out that headset that's garbage. I don't know where you got that from those terrible. Boy, rich. They could take care of Jeff passon everybody at Jeff passing. God, you tell me if I'm on the lawn here on this on this brawl stuff. Telling the kids to get off it. Go ahead. You can tell me. It's kind of like fighting in hockey. It's like oddly necessary. I think. Well, I mean, I don't know, I've never been. A dude broke his elbow. But that's his own fault. Because he fell coming out, coming off the bench. Yeah, stay in the dugout. If you're interested. Look. It wasn't injured. You already have a broken arm, you're out for the year. But what are you doing? It's the ID is kicking in in that moment. We're going to go throw hands, okay? You're not going to make you think that he wouldn't be one of the first students. I can still just understand the benches. I still don't understand. These people are there any pen. It's called a pen. Your pen in. You are literally pendant. You must open a gate. And run a long way. The length of a football field. It's a 100 yard dash. You are undertaking a 300 plus foot run. To join this thing, not just like, oh God, that's in front of me. Oh my God, my guy's getting hit, I gotta go. And I'm right there. It's right in front of me. I gotta go. Like that instinct, that fight or flight moment I understand you. You fight. Yeah. I get that. But you're in the pen. You're all the way out there. You have to literally open a gate. Pass through a fence. And go join. And run. Well lightly job. Try it. It's a light jog if you just think it's just, that's the worst offensive. If it's just one of those pushing and shoving things and everybody comes out and it's just like, okay, let's go back to our corners. We get it. You've made your point. You made your point. And everybody's runs in. But how do you do it? How do you ban it? You don't ban the brawl, you ban joining the brawl. And you can't put a full on if you leave the bench, it's all over. As he said, one on 9. But I get what you're saying. You are just don't come in for instance. You may not join the sorry bullpen guys. We know your team players. We know you want to support your guys. We know you want to be there. You may not. Because a fight amongst 60 people is much easier to break up and it's less dangerous than a fight amongst a hundred. Does that simple math? It does make sense. Could you imagine? But it's simple math. They got in the car. They used to drive the pitchers in. Oh my God..

"Not really throwing punches. He was holding people back. He was on the periphery. He seemed to be perhaps even smiling a little bit. Just a classic show, hey, but supporting his teammates, I suppose. But you had the whole thing. You had the bullpen's running in, right? In parallel, and then. Actual punches being thrown. It does not always happen. You had Anthony Rendon poking Jesse winker in the face. Yes, Anthony randone with a cast. With a cat. Right hand using the left hand to do that. Yes. And you then had JP Crawford coming over over top, trying to land some flows. You had many just a multitude of people falling down, falling all over themselves. You had the fight, break up and come back together several times. You had Scott service and complete disarray, like he looked like he was and everything. On tucked, no ball cap, he looked like he was right there. In the middle of it, his he has been thought to be on a quite wobbly stool in recent weeks because of the Mariners underperformance, but I think we have talked in the past about how that that Clubhouse seems to like him quite a bit actually and I think that moments like this are probably part of why he has managed to endear himself to those players because he gets right in there as I noted on Twitter like I tend to think that brawling is pretty just goofy like you can just have your feelings without punching people. And it can be quite dangerous and the Mariners catcher Torrance dinged his shoulder as a result of this brawl. So like there were in addition to the suspensions which are hefty for some of their players like there are also some injuries that resulted from this. So I think it's goofy to do, but I have enjoyed learning that Jesse winker is not a hold me back bro kind of guy. Jesse winker, he seems to, I will do another swear now, seems keen to both start and finish it. And I feel like a lot of guys in baseball. They're one or the other kind of guy, and mostly the first kind, not the second. I think that it's not true of Jesse winker. Jesse winker, I want to get to the other things to transpire in the course of the fight. This feels like as good a time to share Jesse winker's quote after the game as he left the field following his ejection, he just like double burdened the entire ballpark. Yeah. Just aggressive aggressively. He was, you know, he there was no ambiguity about what he wanted the assembled crowd to do. And after the game and here I am quoting from Cory brocka, the athletics story about this dust up. The only thing I'm going to apologize for is slipping the fans off winker said that's it. As fans are spending their hard earned money to come watch us play a game and they didn't deserve that story apologize to the fans, especially the women and children. As if this bro were the Titanic and we were prioritizing sounds like it's from a past blast from the 19th century. It's like ladies day at the ballpark or something. I am sorry that the delicate sensibilities of the ladies and children in the crowd will open. Yes. Of course, there was a little girl there who had been present for previous sprawl. Yes. Hopefully it's not scarred by just seeing browse every time she goes to the ballpark. Fortunately, she gets nice makeups after the brows because the players and teams will give her things to make up for these dramatic sights she's seeing at the park, but that was an aspect to this story. And that was the least of what was happening with winker after the game, which I guess we can get to that too. But then after everyone is pried apart after birds are flipped and many, many people heard eject. Many people are ejected from this game, including three of the Mariners starters on the day. So that seems optimal. Yeah, I believe right into para the angels reliever was ejected twice. I believe. I think that might be true. The home plate and third base umpires. Yeah, they got him twice. And in addition to his poking of Jesse winker in the face Rendon was on the field while he's on the injured list, which you're not allowed to do, so that I think probably factored into his suspension as well. And then racial Iglesias was not done. He was still worked up and he threw an entire trip seeds. Yep. Just like at an empty field, everyone had retreated to their dugouts to try to regroup from it was like a 20 minute long delay. Such a big brawl that it took 15 or 20 minutes to resolve. And then he also threw gum on the field. Because he was quite fired up. One of the greatest gifts in some time, I think, just the slow motion and the majestic seed bags, just going every which way, like just a beautiful shot, it sounds like it should have been narrated by David Attenborough or something. It's just a great nature documentary here of sunflower seeds just scattering to the winds. It's just beautiful. Warner Herzog considering baseball here. The sunflowers, they fly. That's my Warner Herzog. I think it's really good. Yeah. Set that as good as your southern person saying, whence. This is so much happened here. I'll just list off the suspensions, I guess. So angels manager Phil Nevin, ten games, so we should talk a little bit about that because that is by suspension standards fairly severe, although considering what he did here, perhaps not severe enough. I don't know. Jesse winker, 7 games, and yeah, not only did he want to finish and start, he also wanted to restart maybe multiple times. He kept coming back and just kicking up the festivities again. You had Rendon, I guess a literal insult to injury situation or suspension to injury situation where he's out for 5 games after he comes back next year, presumably. Right. And he doesn't get to sit on the bench for the next 7 games. Also, basically, the angel's entire coaching staff got to spend it. Yeah. Assistant pitching coach, 5 games, and then went was three games to pair with three games. JP Crawford was also 5 games, Iglesias, two games, Julia Rodriguez, two games, and then angels bench coach Rae Montgomery, two games, angels catching coach, Bill hasselman won game, and then angels major league interpreter, many del Campo, two games. I don't know exactly what he did. I don't know whether he got suspended for interpreting some choice words that were directed from the angels or whether he was participating in the fisticuffs, but how about that? Even the interpreter was getting in on the action here..

"Don't ask me at the raise. I'm wrong about them every year. They're amazing. I give them credit. The Red Sox, they can hit as we've seen. And I think they're going to hit enough that they will not be a seller. We've talked about that a lot to hang in there and try to go forward in the American League. I think you don't have to have a great record. I think they're going to be teams with 80 wins in the American League playoffs at least. And maybe the national league too, 80 something wins. So I think they're going to hang in there, but to me, the Blue Jays are really good. And you know, I'm not counting them out just because the Yankees are off to a great start. I think the Blue Jays still have enough in them that they can make a run. Yeah, and by the way, I love what you said about the raise right there that you picked them not to be as good as they are and they mess with you every year. That's the thing I do with the raise. It's not that I am the smartest guy in the room. I am, but that's not the point. I pick more raid. Yeah, I picked the raise all the time. Yeah. And so I'm always in a room by myself. It's the best. But no, the reason why I always pick them is because I always just assume they know more than me because every single move they make seems like on paper, it's gonna hurt them in the immediate future and it's a move for four years from now, but it's never the case because they made a move four years ago that if it's keeping the team already in first place, they're just how they've done it is incredible. The raised model is called the raised model for a reason, and it's just, it's incredible. It's amazing. No explanation. I don't know anything about it. I never picked them. They're always in the playoffs. They always do great. I mean, the trades, the guys they pick up. I mean, you know, sometimes they trade someone who's ends up being pretty good. Like, will you? But hey, look, this fire rising guy. I mean, no one's hitting him at all. He's become their best reliever one of their best two or three relievers and they got about 20 of them. So, you know, they got a lot figured out. They were the first team to really, really shift. And they've been ahead of the curve on a lot of stuff and got to give them credit. They are the smartest. You're the smartest in your room, but they're the smartest in America. Yeah, they're really, really, really incredible, how they are able to always pull this off. On the flip side, they just finished out a series over an Anaheim, the angels have lost 5 in a row. There are three games back in the Astros. Listen, I've been describing the as I've been telling people because I do a lot of gambling shows. I do a lot of shows for bed MGM, a lot of stuff for Odyssey. I've been telling people this about the angels. I've been telling people, yeah, jump on the angels for now, because at the end of the day, the angels will likely get hurt, like they always do in their pitching but most likely we'll come back to earth. I've been describing them as I tell people to pick them as of late as I am a I am a real estate broker in Florida in 2005. I know the bubbles going to burst, but until then I'm going to sell as many houses as I possibly can. And that's what the angels are. The bubble's going to burst at some point. It just hasn't yet. Has the bubble finally burst on the angels? Yeah, I'm not giving up on the angels. I am sad about their rough week. I think we're all in a sense rooting for the angels. We want to see my trap in the playoffs. Incredible, not just unique, one of the best all time at this point. Arguably, the two best players in the game, plus they have Thor, they're a fun team. I watch them every night. They were doing better earlier, but I'm not losing hope. I'm not losing faith. I do like Sandoval, you know, rough start recently, but, you know, there's some signs that pitching will get better. Obviously Rendon injury does not help at the moment, but you know, you got trapped, you got old tiny, you'd like to think this team will be a playoff team. And like I said, the American League, I think you can get in probably 85 wins will probably get you there. You'd like to open and you can get there. Yeah, there's all the teams in that division playing really well, the Astros, just not wanting to go away. Listen, the Mariners have been at disappointment thus far, but I have to assume with the moves they made and the team that won 90 games last year and proved themselves. They got to turn it around at some point, but it's almost June, man. They better start stepping on that gas soon. The Mariners. I had them as a playoff team, and I'm always known as the greatest Mariners detractor. I never have any faith in them and last year they proved me wrong by almost making the playoffs with a 90 wins and almost breaking their 20 year streak of not making the playoffs and they did do a lot. I mean, obviously they got weaker. They got Robbie ray. They made big moves in the off season to add to that 91 team, but I think that I went, that was a mirage. Let's face it at this point. Right now as we do this, there are 20 and 28. Teams have come back from 20 and 28, but I've lost faith. I'm sorry. I normally stick with my picks. I'm giving up on that one. I'm not, listen, I'm stubborn. I refuse to give up on this pick. I need them to come back. I just want to see the Mariners in the playoffs again just wants to get rid of this. The longest drought and all of major sports pretty tough if you're American. Yeah, they are fun when they get to the playoffs. I mean, you know, obviously 95, that was something else with great hit there. It brought home griffey. Edgar Martinez probably saved baseball for Seattle. Beating that upstart the agent team that would end up being a dynasty and starting the next year, but that was fun. You know, I mean, you got to be proud to got to be over 40 to remember the Mariners playoffs though at this point, you know, then again of course, 2001, they had the best team in baseball 116 and they were eliminated. So, you know, it would be nice in a way to see them in, but I'm just not seeing it at this point. You know, the twins have a 5 game lead on.

"And he got traded and I remember talking to him and how disappointed he was to be getting out of San Diego and having to go to a team at the time that was at the bottom of the standings. And now all of a sudden, fast forward, two years later, he's one of the leaders. He's one of the main guys pulling the pull on that rope and you know his team is a team to be reckoned with. So shout out to Thai Friends. Yeah, absolutely. Can't get enough of them. And speaking of which, those Mariners are 13 and 16, I did pick them to win the AL central. This is a really good team and a really good division. And the reason why I'm bringing that up on this ridiculous walk off weekend we just had and Major League Baseball. Anthony Rendon. He's a huge contract, goes over to the angels, has a disappointing first year. I think even he would be free, freely admitted it was a disappointing time to play for the angels. Team played poorly. He got hurt miss most of the year. Now he's back, he's held he's playing well, hits a walk off yesterday on this team. By the way, 19 and 11 are the Los Angeles angels of Anaheim. They're one half game ahead of the asteroids or 1811. The angels seem like they're real. I don't know. It might be too early to say that. I do think they're pitching is going to come to haunt them, but the angels really good and they do not look like they feel like slowing down. What do you think about their arms? I don't know, and I've said that's when we get I don't know if the arms can continue to hold up throughout the season. I think it's a wait and see situation. But we've always thought that the offense was had the potential to be one of the more elite offenses in the game. And now all of a sudden you got Rendon back right now and I've always been a huge fan of Anthony, man. He can flat out hit when he's healthy. And he's starting to pick it up. He started off slow. He started to swing the bat here better as of late, but I think this angel team could be it. Now, listen, the Astros have run off like 7 straight. And I kind of, we kind of expect these runs from the Astros. Like they'll run off 8, 9, ten straight, the lose 5 in a row. And that's, I think, who the Astros are right now is still a very good team. Not as consistent as we've seen them in the past. And I think that does open the door for an angels in a Mariners to take that division. I think we got to hold up and see in terms of the pitching, but certainly you do know you got two guys that are pitching well, really three guys that are pitching, well, if you count lorenzen, you got Otani, who I think obviously will be their ace. But I mean, cinder guard is look great so far. And if you can piece it together, they got a chance to be in the thick of things for this division. You ain't lying. You ain't lying at all. And last walk off of the weekend, the one we're saving for last because it's the juiciest and funniest. Thomas is a walk off for the Yankees. Everything seems perfectly flying a normal until you put the microphone and Chris Woodward's hand, manager of the Texas Rangers. And this is not the first time Woodward has made a comment about something like this. In case you don't know this, there has been a lot of talk about the Yankee Stadium right field wall being a little short over the years ever since the new Yankee Stadium opened up. Well, we haven't heard many comments about it for like the last 5 years because it's kind of an old complaint. Well, he hits a home run walk off of tag off of the right field wall and Chris Woodward comes out and says that's not a home run at 99% of the ballparks in Major League Baseball, just frustrated. Well, next thing you know, Aaron Boone comes out. They ask him, what he has to say about that comment and just a straight up mic drop moment, bad math there. There's only 30 ballparks in the Major League Baseball. I'm not sure you can. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. People are calling for Aaron Boone's head in The Bronx for two years. I say, give him an extension for that comment alone. That comment definitely gonna buy him more time for sure amongst the Yankee base. Listen, can somebody remind me when the new Yankee Stadium was put up? Was it like what happened? In 2008? 9 7? We're about ten, 12 years removed from when it came up. At that time, I think it's time to move on. It's no different than the little short porch in Boston down the line. Oh, by the way, old Yankee Stadium wasn't much, much longer. Wasn't much bigger down the right field. So let's get to frustration, right? It was a ball that probably it doesn't go out in many parts. But you're not playing in many parts. Yeah. You're playing a Yankee Stadium. And on top of that, they actually did the math. It was a 106 off the bat. It was a line drive laser over the right center field wall. And by the way, they did the math. The actual math, it would have gotten out of 27 of the 30 ballparks, so you have it. There you have it. Chris Woodward, this is not the first time you've made a comment about an oppo tank being hit off your team. I do believe you had something to say about the great Fernando Tatís Jr. a couple years ago. Now I'm just looking at him and if you have, if you hit an oppo tank off the Texas Rangers, apparently Chris Woodward's.

"I want to hear because many military dead hide from those things in a closet and even if you expose the closet today someone at the. Va and therapy. They still feel like they need to be a bigger version of themselves to their kids but the danger within that is whether you die. Five years ten years thirty years over many years you've got left on this earth. The worst case scenario is that you leave this earth and your kids never really know who you are. Because they're thirty and they're talking at your eulogy. Maybe them finding out that you had all of these things going on your life that you never told them and they never really they then. This version of their dad got shattered in in that case. It's almost anger. They're probably going to bring to it versus love like that would be the worst case scenario of what happened when you hold in your life from your kids and helping your kids know who you are allows them to walk in the steps of your advice your wisdom well beyond your time so they can always like what would do because they know who their dad was. They know how he fell. They know how he got back up. They know the values that he did when life tested them. They can be dad and those moments when dad's not there but when you hide that version of yourself like this is the best gift and military debt has we have depth. We have wisdom we have. We've seen hell. We know how to move through hell and come back from it. We know how to have. Just see the world from the worst parts of it to the best parts of it and if we share those little lessons that we've taken away to our kids like we have an opportunity to create a generation of kids who go into adult said. America's never really seen before because of the amount of depth the last fifteen years of wars have really been given to the veterans that we have a community today like to me..

"Had you know stuff in the in the dark closet. That didn't want anybody to know about me. I didn't want people to know us to use drugs. I felt like. Oh that's it. You know people are never going to see me as a as a doctor people in ever gonna see me as a professional now. People always think. I'm a bad mom. Probably fraud would be the word that you labeled yourself. Yeah right yeah. And so the reality is that i just have lived experience with with other people in can relate and probably a little bit more empathetic since. I've actually lived my life right. So what you described. There is really the epitome of therapy when you can go and talk to a counselor or therapist or whoever whatever title they have and you can bring those things that are in the closet out into the light and you can talk about the stuff that you feel negatively about and have somebody help you reframe it into a positive light you authentically share yourself with someone else and you learn habits to authentically share yourself with other people and people in your community family and your support system. So you're right all those things that you know you kind of hide and conceal from other people you practice talking about them. You get them out in the open. You feel more confident about how they made you who you are today. And you'll realize probably more people can relate to you the not and that authenticity always shines. Yes i want to go into maybe a second earlier. What we're talking about. How has opening up your life and shining lights and all the clauses that were previously with the lights off. How has it helped you become a better parent. That's so interesting that you brought that up. I my daughter is eleven and she knows it all right. She doesn't really and who really keep anything from her. But when i was an up and coming. Mom's like how i think about it. You know. We're all kind of learning that process as we go. I was always wondering you know. Like should i tell her that i used to use drugs. Should i not tell her again. A deter her from using drugs but the reality is that i'm around people who use drugs or have used drugs all the time my profession right. I'm i'm opening an outpatient treatment center. It's not like she's unfamiliar with drugs. And alcohol are right so when i was considering whether or not i would tell her does she have the capacity to understand what that means. I realized that it was far easier to just be straight with her. and taylor. what things are things aren't rather than trying to create some spider web of lies to conceal some stuff you know. How old was she when she kind of got the full story. I'm not really sure. I think it's been tidbits over time. You know you can do notice like any decision making or any part of a personality evolve because of having this knowledge. My kid is so understanding you know. She's just like okay mom. You're going to go help so and so today or you're gonna go do this Work with the recovery house today or something. And i think she gets excited like cool. You're going to help people that say. They want help for their problem. I think that's awesome. So would it seems like to me is her decision. Making is no matter what the problem is. Somebody's out there to help. And that's a good thing and no matter what the problem is. If you say you need help that's a good thing and it's okay to say you.

"To agree with that. I mean we focus i. I think i'm even guilty of this too. I wanna find what the common thread is with people in order to feel more comfortable to reach out to them and say oh i wear glasses too. You know let's talk about our day at lenscrafters right but the reality is is that we all say you know our experiences really how we got here and and i'm just a person and and Imperfectly perfect Too so let's find common ground instead of seeing each other's glasses you know and i have a friend who runs a podcast called. I believe it's called no tag and essentially. It's these tags that we assign ourselves like the tag novak. You're sure is the label and has different things that describes a shirt. And anytime we assign these tags for our own life that you are a person classes so therefore you identify with some probably the stereotypes of people that wear glasses even though those probably have nothing to do with you. they're just part of these tags. You of probably subconsciously signed ourselves and it's those filters that we're always trying to find connection in but really it's her podcast guesses by tearing out those tags and how take tearing them out allows you to have more freedom to be more if you are versus worrying about your common thread and more common thread is based on some preconceived notion that you think they have of you which is most likely not even correct because they have nothing to really think about you because you're just the person in front of them right now but it's it's that thought that we need to have a tag. We need to use these tags to define ourselves and this is our identity and people mess with those tags even than we get upset. And that's when like then you can go downhill and spiral out of like man. I keep going to these conversations getting rejected. Let's because you go on these conversations with preconceived idea that you are a person and people don't see that in you and it ends always negatively in that mode. I'm excited that in brought that up. I had this conversation with clients with other counselors anytime. I do any kind of public speaking. We have to talk about the labels that we assign ourselves. And in my field of work. Now i often hear people refer to those who have addiction disorders or mental health disorders as annex or junkies and there are pretty serious label. And we have this. That happens to veterans to like as soon as you share any insight that you have. Ptsd or that you suffered in any way people get labeled very quickly He's off the handle or he super angry veteran tag..

"Historically been like As come rod you know have as much rotary as men when it comes to veteran ship and having this history being in the military and so you're aware of the separation but if you actually talk to male veterans especially male veterans who are in the same as a serving as you you realize there's a ton of similarities now that you're you're thirty five and then you got out in two so that there has been almost ten years since you got right. That math is correct. This year In september eleven years heart of a huge component that men and women go through on the other side of the transition is figuring out why triazole so important military issues your tribe and you must instantly figure out how to start using it and start working together but you never realize on the other side what that magic was doing that. For millennia men and women survived and tribes and communities and we always had people ahead of us in behind us. I'm wondering in your life today in those since those ten years. How have you had to rebuild that tribe because without that tribe or connection to other people you get to lose more for you are and that disconnection from your identity is something that can be dangerous. That leads down to all the things that you work on every day absolutely so i actually just had this conversation yesterday was done one about of it takes a village to raise kids. It doesn't matter how anna care if you have twenty four children or one right or how old they are. It takes extra and outside influence to help more than shape them and bought leadership ship them. Yeah right there's a lot that goes on into into reason kids but what we forget is that there's a lot that goes into raising us to so many of us joined the military when we're young seventeen eighteen nineteen twenty years old this like zero brain formation. plus all the craziness for that game distinguish itself from the rest of the world series and I've got a laundry list of stuff to get tune we'll get into all of what happened last night but let's start with this I thought you know Dave Martinez what an emotional night like he goes absolutely nuts during the course of the game we're in the seventh inning stretch and he looked down the field and all of a sudden I see Dave Martinez being restrained by one of his coaches and he's going after the umpires he winds up getting a in our life by the Japan and their life go ahead the one who's restoring him he's gotTa winds up being rejected first manager in twenty three years to be objected from a world he's game and then after the game you get knuckleheads like me going in there and ask you know the right questions about how he felt in that moment and what did you think about the call I Dave Martinez handled it perfectly because he's like you know what I don't WanNa get any that I don't want to talk about that and he said it respectfully he said I I understand but you know what it's all about game seven in so many words and that's exactly what I thought he should have done in that moment considering what the outcome was there was no reason for him to relive all the details game unless they lose like I feel like and not that you want to relive it anyway and you WanNa take the high road but there was a moment there and this is for the people who weren't watching the game live but when you're watching it live during the entire time empires had the headsets on that that the showing trae Turner in the out just the emotions completely I mean honestly watching the broadcast they were bleeping out every other word was coming out of that dugout because it was so much emotion it felt like that something we're gonNA WE'RE GONNA be talking about this moment for years because in that moment it felt like the nationals are gonNA lose this game and this is why it's GonNa be because of this so I think Dave Martinez would have been a completely different person had anthony rendon day income and hit that home run I think then he would have been a lot more but when you win the game and it's like why go back in blow up that entire call a hundred percent and that's what I thought was really smart by him to not go back and relive that because they won the game and they force game seven and game seven will be started by Max Scherzer who chess on Sunday comes walking stiffly into the interview room in front of reporters he When he was answering questions he wasn't turning his neck he was sitting in his wheelchair and turning the whole swivel chair to talk to reporters and he was so down he gets a cortisone shot which pitchers talk about is being such essentially a miracle drug and then yesterday when we walk into the Ballpark here in Houston he's in catching the outfield and goes to Intel's Day Martinez I'm ready to go and you get the feeling that this could be something that could fire or at the players I asked David about that before the game yesterday about you know whether or not the players might rally around this any mentioned that time when Max fouled the ball off he was on face broke his nose and the next day Texan picture instead I'm good to go and he started that day with the black is Dave said that got the players fired up I gotta believe tonight there'll be so much adrenaline Max on the mound especially because I mean from that press conference buster and and for those of us that know him he was devastated Leanne devastated on Sunday that he could not help his team and I felt like it worked in the reverse like he could not hide the emotion of how much he felt like he was leading his team down and because of that and not because that's the sole reason they lost by any means at all but I felt like the team reacted to his devastation and not just him not pitching the overall vibe that he was giving like I feel awful that I can't pitch in game that I'm supposed to I think it works in the reverse for game seven because he is battled on everything he can the cortisone shot I think my only concern was shirt tonight is we've seen in his starts in this postseason him go one hundred ten and plus pitches how much length can't he give this team now the good thing is you know Daniel Hudson Sean deal those two pitchers you can use anybody pretty much out of the bullpen and there is more options for Dave Martinez out of the bullpen but what we've seen is they need length from these starters how much length can shares her bring your stuff was just flat from the get-go the guys more pitches than anybody in baseball this year over four thousand he just he just didn't have it and I think it was because he he's tired at the end of a long year and right that's the question about Max tonight on the other side we're GonNa see Zach ranking who's also looked tiredness postseason and I would assume that he's he followed by Garrett Cole I talked to Garyk before game six and asked him about how his ability with game seven was something he was handling because of the flight on the day last turn it had a similar situation where normally I would pen on day two but since we were flying I decided to it settled in DC and throw my pen on day three which for this week sets up pretty much the same exact way and I felt really good last week on day three so I'm just taking the same routine did last week to prepare for the bullpen as I'm doing this week to prepare for possibly having to pitch game seven yes I think he's GonNa wind up pitching like innings four through six tonight what do you think yeah I think so I think this is something that you definitely see and I think just for the royalva nats I mean to be able to get to that grinky you know the point that they want to be able to do they're going to have to do it early and once they do that knowing what is looming in the bullpen and that's one thing opposite of the nationals is the astros have so many guys that they can go to and Garrett Cole who has been the ultimate throw down the hammer are you know for the scene the one point I have to make with Garrett Cole and I know we've seen it so much but the last time he has pitched in relief you go back to his freshman year at us Cla I went and looked at this against the ant eaters gave up a winning run I mean this is like I know it's liked onion cheek like it's been how long since he was a little frothy with the Bruins this is something that I do think fans that now we've seen it time and time again from Randy Johnson no Madison Bumgarner these star pitchers come out of the bullpen it's not as easy is it looks folks he's talking about it being similar to bullpen game he's never done it really he's never done it as a professional he's never done it with the Astros this is something that I think you definitely look for especially early on if he's coming in mid inning what what is he doing where's his heart rate because it's definitely different than than coming in just as the starter all right let's dig into game six last night we'll start with this golf clap or Stephen Strasburg watching that last night just reminded me of how I felt during the two thousand fourteen postseason watching Madison bumgarner where he seemed so in control where even when there were runners on base pitching backwards coming back and counts by throwing off speed pitches he was just absolutely composed and in the end despite the fact that Max Sherzer got up at one point in the sixth inning there Stephen Strasburg still out on the mound in the ninth inning what a performance the fifth five no yeah this amazing to me again Jose Altuva and I remember in the moment I sent this note to our producer in the moment I was like I don't know what's GonNa Happen in this game but to me this is the stories this isn't even the game like that fifth inning at bat it to Jose Altuve to me was the series why I mean you have a pitcher or a hitter up to bat similar to the Anthony Rendon in the first inning where all you really gotta do is put the bomb play take one of those breaking balls fine whole get to the grass score some runs and respond and felt like to all the guys in that order that's what he does I mean that guy can hit anything and Stephen Strasburg you'll get three pitches he started on what the
