"Flash of mischief on the rail coming out of the breeder's cup didn't run particularly well in that race was much better at Remington park and at Canterbury over the summer, some of those races going long, not short, fits in here. And kavo, who you mentioned, is another one who really wants to be somewhere close to the action to me it's who can settle just behind the pace and vote is the one to me that's the most likely to be sort of adaptable if he gets out great. He can win on the lead, but I think he can sit behind one for Richie and have the most kick coming home. I like kavo, but again, I think it's a pretty open affair. So I went with one for Richie in the fact that he's got enough speed, I think, to make the lead, but if for some reason he doesn't make the lead, he doesn't usually give up. He can sit just off of it and run just fine. I think he's just loves the strip at Oak Lawn park. If the track is wet tomorrow like it was for a lot of today, that's not going to bother him. I'm going to put him on top simply because he's four to one and I think he's as good as anyone else in the field. So you went with kavadh. I went with one for Richie in tomorrow's ring the bell raised 7 at Oakland, the other featured race at Oklahoma tomorrow is the $150,000 mistletoe. These are Phillies and mayors going a mile on the track at Oklahoma park. It goes as race number 9, 7 of them signed up for this race as well. And thus far, Dave, number 6 la Vida has looked very good in her starts here in the U.S.. Yeah, I can't see beyond the Vita and coach and here. The others just simply don't look good enough to me. And there does not seem to be an abundance of speed. Maybe lovely ride is going to be on the front coaches, certainly going to be close. The question to me is how close is the Vita going to be? I think it's very possible that there's just going to be too much to be done in a race that doesn't have a lot of pace. I think they DeVita kind of got the advantage of the pace last time out, went by and one easily $100,000 optional claimer at kingland. I think coach is going to sit the better trip. I think coach has been running against better competition. I like coach for Brad Cox in this spot, but I'll be using both. Okay, I've never been a fan of coach and I don't know why. She's done very little wrong in her career. She's won 5 of 13 starts and made $435,000. And I'm not a fan of her once again tomorrow. I actually think that this stake tomorrow at Oak Lawn is no stronger a field than what le da Vida beat last time out in that allowance optional claiming event over at keenland and she beat that field very, very easily. I understand the pace scenario in here and Vincent shell is probably going to have to work out a trip with later Vita, but to me, either one of the races that she has run in this country are clearly better than anyone else in this field can run. So either she's going to have to go backwards or somebody is going to have to run a career best race to beat her later Vita for me, I'll take the short price in the mistletoe. All right, we're going to take our first break. One week come back, they've got a great card of state bred stakes action tomorrow at fairgrounds and we're going to look at four of those stakes. You're listening to the weekend stakes preview presented by naira bets on the horse racing radio network. Beth

"Opportunity to earn a $20 bonus on the race win or lose. If you met $50 bet to win on any course, be sure to opt in to qualify for those promotions. All right, Dave, we've got three more Sunday stakes to look at, including one at aqueduct. It's the grade two gallant bloom race 9 on the Sunday car. These are Phillies and mayors going 6 and a half furlongs on the main track field of 5 going to post and probably going to have a heavy favorite in the Wesley ward trainee kamari who came from well out of it last time to win the honorable miss in as far as what I can see the best speed figure of her life. Yeah, and if she repeats that she wins, I don't think there's any question about that. And off that layoff, you get a terrific performance. This will now be second off the layoff. You keep Joel Rosario. And if you want a single kamari, if you think Kamara is a stone cold rock, if you're willing to take three to 5 or whatever she's going to be. I've got no beef with that. This is a horse that probably goes over a $1 million in earnings on this weekend. That being said, if you take away the last race or you just kind of scale back a little bit, if there's a bounce of some sort, there are several other horses that fit in here. Lady rocket number one, the 2021 form is terrific. The 2022 form really only one out of four races is good enough here. That being said, it is possible lady rocket is going to be loose on the lead if she can shake number four chitara and it is also possible that lady rocket second off the layoff and cutting back is really getting right back into her Wheelhouse. Number two remain anonymous is interesting last two races are really, really good. This is a step up, but I don't think she's out of the realm of possibilities. I don't like the price on Kumari. I went with lady rocket to go wire to wire. Yeah, I took lady rocket and I actually took her because I think she could sit just in behind chitara, who might actually be a little bit faster, but maybe you should get out in front of Tata as long as she's not going head and head with jatara. I agree with one thing. If kamari runs anywhere close to the way she ran last time out, they're all running for a second. There isn't any money in this race who's ever run even close to as fast speed figure 5 as kamari did last time out. I just don't trust her to run that again. So the question is, will she regress a little or will she regress a lot? Regressing a little probably still wins, regressing a lot brings lady rocket and the others into it. I like you. I'm going to try to beat the favorite with number one lady rocket who is two to one on the morning line. Let's jump over to Remington park. They've got some great stakes action as well on Sunday 5 stakes on their card Sunday. Two of them are graded, including the grade three Remington park oaks for the three year old Phillies going a mile and a 16th on the main track $200,000 the purse here. We've got a field of 8 Dave and probably the shortest price that we're going to talk about this weekend in number 6 or rather number 5 juju's map. Yeah, I think the morning line maker nailed it here. Let's not pretend that juju's map is going to be 6 to 5. One to two is probably about right. At one to two, I am not betting on juju's map. I probably am also not betting against juju juice map. I'm extremely interested to see how juju juice map runs though. This is a horse that was absolutely terrific at the age of two, went off at three to one in the breeders cup juvenile Phillies and finished second to echo Zulu and was well clear of everybody else. This year has not gone great. We saw a win against Leicester at Churchill downs in May and then back to back third place performances in graded stakes races at Belmont and at Monmouth. I think this is the right spot. I think this is a field that juju's map should beat. If you gave me even money, I would bet on juju's map at one to two. I'm not particularly interested. Number three free like a girl is a difficult one for me to gauge. 8 wins got in love that. Most of them are against Louisiana bread, competition, last two were good, but those are sprint races moving back to a longer race here, a little bit hard to tell. Number 6, be Anika, get a huge price for Steve as mucin could go wired a wire, but let's be honest, the horse is going to have to run a lot faster than we've ever seen before. Same story for hits pricey legacy. Number four, you get 6 to one coming off a win. That was the best race of the horse's career. She needs to run faster to win. I think juju's map will win and I'll be watching. I'll be interested. I'm probably not going to be betting. Yeah, I agree with everything you said in the blinkers come off to just map. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to get her to settle down maybe just off the pace of number four hits pricey legacy and make that run. She showed early in her career that she's pretty good with a target. She's been going to the lead and stopping against better as of late. We'll see if she goes more to the tracking kind of a style instead of the front running style in the Remington park oaks juju's map should be a tough customer on Sunday. 11th race on the Sunday card at Remington's the grade three, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby, three year olds going a mile and an 8th on the main track field of 8 here, Dave. Three of them really in good form. Number one steel sunshine number four best actor and number 5 rattle and roll. Yeah, I thought maybe this was an opportunity to find a price.

"Joel Rosario, who was aboard for his maiden win. For you, taba for me. I don't think a lot of people remember this, but for about three quarters of a mile in the Haskell, it looked like table wasn't doing anything. And then Mike Smith took him out from the inside and put him to the outside and it's like there was renewed energy and all of a sudden he was into the bit, and he made this big move. And I think what I'm not a 100% sure, but it kind of looks like table is not very comfortable being in and behind horses. So the good news and bad news of it is this. I think everyone knows this now and I think Mike Smith knows this and he's going to keep this horse outside. The bad news is that means he's going to lose a little bit of ground. And if you're somebody who uses like rags and sheets or something like that, he's always going to get a better number than some of the others because he's going to be losing ground, but I think that's the way that taba is going to be ridden and needs to be ridden and I think if he stays out in the clear and he's focused for the entire race and not just the final three furlongs of the race, he's going to be tough to beat. I like the fact that he's only run four times I think he has a lot more room for improvement than some of the others. I'm going to try taba to see if he can get back to his winning ways in the grade one Pennsylvania Derby. All right, let's move north of the border to woodbine the start our Sunday action. We're going to look at four Sunday stakes. One right now before our final break and it's the grade three vigil for three year olds and up going 6 furlongs on the main track up at wood mine. It's race number 8 on the Sunday card approximate post time four 50 Eastern Time. 9 of them going to post individual day and the morning line favorite is number 5 candy overload for Mark Cassie and Patrick husbands. Yeah, this is first time with Mark Cassie for candy overload. Who last time out ran against a bunch of horses in this race. Candy overload on August 13th ran against number 6 lucky score and number 7 AV splatter and number 8 secret reserve and it was kind of a difficult race to sort out secret reserve one at over ten to one and got far and away the best trip and candy overload went way, way wide and obvious splatter went way, way, wide, and I watched this a couple of times. I'm just not sure how to sort the whole thing out. And then I looked at this race more carefully and I'm like, there is no speed in cure. So I started looking at number two Clayton very carefully, who I think has speed, but I think it's tactical speed. I think Clayton is going to be close. I don't know if Clayton is going to be in front. And then I shifted my view to rock crest. Number 9, who I completely understand has not beaten or run against anything remotely close to this good. I just think rock crest is going to clear. And I don't know if rock crest is good enough to go wire to wire, but at 12 to one, maybe I'm getting a little bit cute and maybe 6 furlongs isn't as good as 5 for a long, but I'm going to play rock crest to go wire to wire. All right, so number 9, rock crust for Dave. I went to the 7 80s flatter. I just think that he was unprepared at the start last time out. He's never coming from ten links out of it in any of his races. In fact, his good races, he's kind of just right in behind the pace within a length and a half, two, two and a half lengths of the lead and comes running. He was able to close from ten lengths back while going 7 wide last time out and got beat a half a length when it was completely against him in the bold venture. I think with a better start, he's a lot closer and has a lot less than he has to do under regular rider Luis Contreras. AV's flatter for me to take the grade three vigil race 8 on woodbine's Sunday card. I'm going to take our final time out when we come back. We're going to look at a Sunday stake at aqueduct and two big stakes at Remington park. This is the weekend stakes preview presented by naira bets on the horse racing radio

"Yes, everything Gulfstream park is entire career until mid August, they go to LS park and win the LS park Derby going to mile. I thought that was an hosting coming from just off the pace there. Gets the inside here. Also something you get, he gets back on latex. He didn't race on basics for the last two races. He's going to be on Lasix on Sunday. So we'll see if that helps him out at all. But he's won three races in a row one on Lasix two without, so I don't know if that's even a situation we have to worry about with him. But he's going to be a player and I have a feeling it's going to come rolling in that last quarter mile. It's not a huge field. So traffic wise, I wouldn't think he would get stuck down inside, but you never know. You've seen it for years. The shorter fields always seem to have the more traffic problems. You get a 12 horse field and they go around there and don't touch each other and everything's fine. So we'll see how it plays out. Speaking with Dale day, he's the track announcer at Remington park. I believe they have 8 stakes in all on the Sunday card highlighted by both the grade three Oklahoma Derby and the grade three Remington park oaks. Let's look a little bit at the oaks now. It goes as race 9 on the card $200,000 on the line for the three year old Phillies. This is at a mile and a 16th on the main track field of 8, but it looks like it's one of them and then all the others. Yeah, juju's math, grade one winner was the alcibiades last year at Keenan that goes into the breeders cup juvenile cross country at del mar run second. Beaten 5 and a quarter links. Now, that's not bad at all because she ran second to echo Zulu who was absolutely at the top of her game and by far the best last year two year old Philly in the country. So no slouch and running second to her at all. Then obviously something went awry and she was off until Kentucky oaks day running on the undercard at Churchill downs on May 6th, winning the allowance of that hasn't captured that sense third and the grade two mother goose and third in the grade three, mom and park oaks. So obviously Brad Cox hoping that juju's map gets it rolling again here in the room to bar cokes and she's going to be tough. One to two on the morning line super heavy favorite and yes, I did pick her on top, I think that backlash from her two year old year is going to show back up and it should be able to come in here a couple of interesting runners in here. One that I've watched the last two years and I keep waiting for the source to spring a big race. Nothing really screams is going to happen, but Roland chrome is primarily a sprinter has the inside 20 to one morning line. I went back and I watched her last race. She had a nightmarish trip. So if you're a trip handicap and you like to pick horses that didn't get their best chance to run. Watch out for rolling chrome. I just know one these days I'm not going to use it at all and she's going to spring the upset. So I put her in there third even though she's primarily a spinner. She was just walled up coming off the turn in her last start. It allows a company here at ramyun park top of the stretch, had 6 blocking her in front of her. She finally had to wait and wait, wait, once she got clear, the race was over and she managed to get on for third, but long shot possibility there. His pricing legacy and other local CR trout usually doesn't put him into the big races once he thinks they have a shot. So another one that might be able to come in behind juju's map. But I think it's juju's map, like you said in that everybody else for the minor awards. I mentioned there are a lot of other stakes don't want to keep you very long. Is there something else that sticks out to you on the card is maybe a horse who really looking forward to seeing or maybe a horse that you'd be looking forward to playing if so inclined? Well, as far as an individual horse, I don't know, but the next race that I really like on the cards, the David M Vance sprint really came up nice. 6 furlongs and I think there's ten in there. Yes, ten horses. And it's a little bit of everything. And there's an outlier in there that I'm interested to see how it runs flash of mischief who ran second in last year's Oklahoma Derby behind Warren had the lead. Did it have a huge lead, but had the lead basically throughout the race and gave it up in the final furlong, but still held on for second being on length and three quarters. He has not really recaptured his strength that he showed last year for having to park and other places for trainer Carl broberg, but he has skills. He led the governor's cup, basically all the way around was caught by a rated R superstar owned by Danny Caldwell in the final strides on opening night here. And flasher mischief has good speed and usually is one going to mile or more. I just want to shorten back to 6 furlongs. I'm interested to see how that goes with him. And how he factors into this mix for the bands of 6 prolonged sprint, which really came up tough. A lot of horses coming in from around the country, some locals, and it's a really good race, sandwich right in between the oaks and the Derby. And just let everybody know longer card 12 races, we added a late pick 5 on Sunday, which will start in race date. We normally don't run more than one pick 5, but we added one because it's all stakes at the last 8 races on the card all stakes events. Blake pick 5 starts a race number 8, I believe that's the Rand Rick's memorial over the turf at a mile in the 16th Phillies and mayors three and up. And then one more pick four in the card in the middle. So extra multi race wagering opportunities for people to try to cash big on as well. I really appreciate it Dale. We will be watching. We will be playing. It's going to be a fun day on Sunday at Remington park. Thanks for taking the time Dale. It will be. And the weather is going to be great, so everybody enjoy it. All right, Dale Dale, Dale day, rather he is the voice of Remington park has been for many, many years, and he's going to call their big card on Sunday highlighted by both the Remington park oaks and the Oklahoma Derby.

"The leader right from the start leads as they come for the top of the stretch. And then it is searched for truth. On the outside is a fighter in the wind into the lane now with sea falls still in front, search for truth, looking for a way through is constitution lawyer. And now orchestration is coming on on the outside along with shawty shawty shawty. Here comes fighter in the win. She falls is there orchestration and shawty shawty shawty. Shawty shawty shawty and orchestration, shawty, shoddy, shoddy, narrowly over orchestration. Good driving finish in the 7th race at aqueduct ended up running 8 7 6 the Ortiz brothers fighting down the lane aboard shoddy shoddy shoddy with Jose, orchestration, the favorite with irad, shawty, shawty, shawty, able to run down the favorite orchestration in the final strides and get up for the win 8, 7, 6, the unofficial top three in that 7th race at aqueduct final time for the myelin three 8 solid enough, two 15 and one. So they pretty much they flew home that final that final furlong there going from two O three and two to two 15 and one so 11 just under 12 seconds. These final two closing in and really saving their best for last shoddy, shoddy, shoddy, getting just his second win from 16 career starts. All right, we will get you those prices once they go official. We're going to take a break now. When we come back, we're going to be joined by Dale day. He's the track announcer Remington park. "Saratoga as well and they just went official for race number 6. So they're running just a tad behind our first race will be the 7th race on the card. We are going to get to cover the featured race at Saratoga today, which is race number 8. It's the summer colony for Phillies and mayors that have not won a great at stake in the year 2022. Mylan and 8th on the main track and the interesting thing about these kind of racing conditions is you always seem to get a few horses that you say, hey, I wonder where that horse has been, or I wonder what he or she has been up to. Horses like one art collector one earlier in the meeting. You say, yeah, where has art collector been? And kind of a confidence builder back in these restricted stakes like this. And that's exactly what we get in the summer colony today. We've got some really steak, grated steaks caliber Phillies and mayors who theoretically are finding an easier spontaneous if they're all in against each other. Army wife for one thing is in the race. She's already a multiple graded stakes winner. She won the black eyed Susan last year. She won the Iowa oaks last year. She's looking to get back to her winning ways on Bhutan is in the race. She won the great two false cities at the end of 2021. Also won the false city's the year before won the Remington park oaks. And then you've got Bonnie south who's the morning line favorite. She hasn't won and it seems like forever. Her last victory was April of last year in the grade three double dog dare over at Caitlin, but she never runs a bad race. She's just running against some of the best Phillies engineers in the country. So they're all dropping into what you would think, or at least when they probably entered their entered for the race, what they thought was going to be an easier spot. I'm not really sure it's that easy of a spot. Yeah, you don't get the mala fats and the latkes and the clares and the search results, those type, you know, the hardened grade one caliber winners in this race, but you got to get a lot of the same grade two grade three quality looking to get back to that charmed circle so it should be a fun featured race later today at Saratoga. Still unofficial at Gulfstream park two 7 5 four 6 the unofficial order of finish in race three. We've got about 19 minutes to post for the 7th at Saratoga. So we're going to take a break now. When we come back, we'll get you paid at Gulfstream. We'll be joined by Jim sharvit from the press box at the delmar thoroughbred club. This is betting with Bobby presented by Caesar's race book.

"Like we had for a few years of baffert shipping in somebody. Now we've got John Sandler's bringing in some horses, not just for the Sexton mile, but for some other races. And Richard baltis coming in last year, Peter Miller had horses here and it's expanded and grown quite a bit and then with bigger purses and Texas with the legislation that passed a few years ago that boosted the purses, it's allowed us to do races like the Chamberlain bridge and the ouija board and these other supporting races and the Texas Derby, which has been put together and should be another interesting race this year. And so they the shippers are coming for these really big name trainers and for not only a Sexton mile, but the other ones as well. For people that may not be all that familiar with lone star park. You get the bird's eye view in the announcers booth looking out over that racetrack every single night. Tell me about paint the picture for me, if you will. What's it like when you look out there and you gaze upon lone star park? Well, it's a good view. Way off in the distance, not too many miles away, but I can see the control towers for DFW airport, we're sitting just south of DFW airport off to the east. I can see downtown Dallas, it's really a tremendous view of the track itself, conventional oval 7 a smile turf course, mile, main track, nothing much different about that, but a place that's 25 years old, hosted the O four breeders cup. Conventional look with an infield shoot on the turf course and the infield lakes. The surfaces themselves have been playing really, I think, really very fair so far this meets where a month into the season now and we've had the benefit of dry weather for the most part, but we did get a little bit of rain this past week, which I think did make the turf course look even better, but the turf gets a lot of use at lone star and it's been fortunate in a bit for us, not for some that we haven't had much rain this spring because the turf course has been able to be used every single day that we've raised so far knock on wood. So, you know, in the view itself, it's a track that the vantage point is excellent because unlike some tracks that are a bit older and have more mature trees, there's no view blockages of any sort so the camera angle is nice and clean and it's just a really nice place to be in a nice place to work and reminds me a little bit of a newer Remington park where I was the first announcer back in 1988. Some of the design features in the building itself were carried over here to lone star park. Visiting with lone star announcer Jim byers here on the horse racing radio network, the equine form all presented by our friends at twin spires. All right, Jim, let's talk about some of the horses we're going to see. We'll start with that Steve Sexton miles since it is the lone greatest takes on the program 6 stakes set to run on.

"Park southwest stakes as well as Gulfstream's Pegasus World Cup. You get a $40 bonus just like that. Now I'm interested to see what they do with this day because you were supposed to have to bet a $100 each on the southwest, the Pegasus and the toboggan and now since the toboggan is not taking place tomorrow, don't know exactly what's going on, but I think you still get the $40 bonus. So a great stuff going on from our fence at 9 or bets. Well, as you mentioned, Dave, we've got great racing around the country, both tomorrow and Sunday. So we're going to start it off in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They've got three big stakes on the Saturday card starting with race four on their card tomorrow. Goes about two 32 Eastern Time. It's the $200,000 Martha Washington for the three year old Phillies going a mile in a 16th, just a short field of 6 here, Dave, but there are three of them that are going to get a lot of action at the windows. Como square optionality in secret oath. Yeah, this is a great race for me from a betting perspective because two of those three are tosses. That doesn't mean that secret oath can't win, but dewayne Lucas is three for a 115 in stakes races over the last 5 years hasn't won once since 2018 and I'm tossing secret oath who very much from a fig standpoint and running lines looks possible maybe even likely in here. I just can't bet into those stats that are really hard against the Hall of Famer, the 86 year old trainer. Optionality for Steve asked me to three consecutive wins at Indiana grand Zia and Remington park. I think in against better today at Oakland park need to prove it to me not taking a short price there. Como square makes plenty of sense for Brad Cox, but this is a stretch out. We just don't know the figs are not huge. I will certainly be playing como park, but my selection is on the rail, hyper sport 8 to one in the morning line looks like the only horse with speed to me, I expect to go out quickly. Sort of like last time, but not quite as quick and I don't think is going to get pressed like he did or like she did last time out and I think hyper sport can survive on the rail wire to wire. Much better price on HyperSport tomorrow than once you got last time out and the allowance race and her win two starts back with certainly put her right there. I'm going with number three como square being by into mischief out of a congrats smear. I don't think the scratch out to a mile in the 16th is a gigantic ask. I like what I've seen from her thus far. And I also like the fact that John Velasquez is getting a board for the first time. So we're both picking against the two favorites on the morning line, optionality and secret oath. I'm going with como square Dave goes with hyper sport. In the Martha Washington, a points qualifying race on the road to the Kentucky yolks, ten valuable points to the winner of the race. Moving ahead to race 9 on tomorrow's card at Oakland park in the 9th race is a good one. It's the three quarter $1 million grade three Southwest stakes. These are three year olds going to go a mile in a 16th and a full field of 12 set to go to post Dave and you've got a Californian Vader in the Bob Baffert train new grains going to try to win it from a tough post. Yeah, I think this is a very competitive race, but other than new Grange, I couldn't find anyone that really stood out. Dash attack number two and barber road number 8 ran against each other in the slop at oak on the 1st of January and both of them ran pretty good races dash attack was a two length winner at 8 to one barber square finished second Barbara square had some kind of difficulty within that trip. I think both of them are completely viable and here. But let's be honest, this is what Bob Baffert does. He takes the horses from California. He brings him the Oakland he's had 17 Derby horses prep and win since 2010 at Oakland park and newgrange looks the part. One as a 5 to two second choice at del mar first time out, came back in the grade three sham and again wasn't bet aggressively about 7 to two or three to one actually. And one rather easily, I thought the field was solid, if not spectacular that day, newgrange, a $125,000 son of violence, and I think he's the most likely winner in here. Well, I don't disagree that he's one of the ones that can win. I disagree with the fact that I don't think the field that he beat in the sham was very good at all. It was a short field. I didn't think the favorite Rockefeller was that much going in. And new greens just got out in front of the field set a slow pace and kept going. Now maybe he's just better than that field and maybe he's significantly better than what I thought was a mediocre field. He's very logical. I'm going to try a price with number 5 Costa terrace for Steve asthma. And Thiago Pereira, coming out, his last time we saw him was in the grade one breeders futurity at keeneland, and I thought he ran a better than looked 5th in the race. He was just nowhere in the early going. Don't know why he was so far back in that race, but he passed more than half of the field and kind of finished a non menacing 5th, but still a pretty good effort. I think in defeat. And to be honest, I think the field he faced in that breeders futurity is easily as good if not better than the one he's going to see tomorrow in the southwest. Biggest question for me is will he fire his best shot, first start off the layoff. It's not something that Steve asks that Steve asks and really fires at. His overall percentages are somewhere in the 1820 22%, but these extended layoff types are closer to 15%. So you don't always get their best effort first off the break for this. I'm hoping that happens tomorrow though with coast to Terra because I think that if he sits a closer trip, which he did in his first two starts, he's going to be a major player at a nice price. Coast to Terra for me in the southwest, a points race ten points to the winner as far as on the road to The Kentucky Derby this year. Race ten tomorrow at Oakland park is the $150,000 king cotton. It's a sprint 6 furlongs there on the Hot Springs. Oval good field of 9 going to post, and another try for Nashville. Boy, when he was good, he was great, Dave, but he's been disappointing in his last two starts..

"Me looks great. All of a sudden now, I thought about that after I said it. Oh God, what is she doing with her white socks pulled up to her knees? Walking around the barn. I forgot who I was talking to I apologize. Exactly. Exactly. I'm not talking to Reese. I'm talking to you. This is not this massage bar. Okay, this is the get it done barn. And so we're getting done with Courtney Edwards, awesome little ear warmers and Courtney, please send me the link. I'll try to mess with you. I think she has an Etsy page and she sells them, and she makes him out of like all material. So it's repurposed. It doesn't look old. It's just she makes it out of clothing. So made out of somebody's old jeans. Pretty much. I think some of these skirt. Nabs it from them when they're sitting down at the movie theater, you know, this cuts off the bottom. So it's really cool and they're really great and I'll try to get the link to them because anything to help at this time of year. Great, terrific. Well, tonight, you have a zoom. Actually, that joy put together for retired racehorse radio, apparently you and some friends are going to have a little holiday party tonight. And that's going to be broadcast on the retired racehorse radio Facebook page. So that's what 6 o'clock eastern, right? Yes. 6 o'clock eastern joy in order to sit down. We might have some wine and for no. And then we're gonna have some of the cast of characters that are frequent guests, including leandra. She's a real popular segment on retired racehorse radio. Leander Cooper, it runs new locations, so we always get a training tip and we highlight an adoptable horse and it's just gonna be a lot of fun all of us sitting around chit chatting and talking about the year and it'll be fun and we'd love for you guys to join us. And you'll be able to see them because it's video, so. Oh God. That was my subtle reminder that you have to get you have to actually maybe change clothes before tonight. Put the my life on. Okay, so tell me you went to the races Friday night where'd you go one of the big tracks in Oklahoma? I'm assuming. Yeah, Remington park is a track. Why do I laugh every time I hear Remington park? Is it actually started by the gun people? Probably. It's Oklahoma Remington. I didn't even think about that. So Remington had closing night on Friday night and horse and hound will go and the big stakes nights and have a table set up and do some fundraising. So I'd love to go and hang out with those guys and hang out with all the volunteers and everything and I'd love to gamble. So there's that. So I take a specific amount of cash, but I had to add $4 to my pile Glenn. So I'll let you take down my cut, okay?.

"And on Sunday, from two 30 to 6 p.m. Eastern Time, once again, FS two, both tomorrow and Sunday. Well, Dave, as I mentioned, tonight, a big night out at Remington park, they're closing up their 2021 racing season and the featured race on their closing night card goes at about ten 28 central time. So almost 1130 pretty late here on the east coast, but gives us plenty of time to get cracking on this $200,000 guaranteed pick four. They've got going on later tonight and the featured race tonight is the $400,000 springboard mile two year olds going to two turn mile on the main track at Remington park field of 9 and a lot of questions to be answered. Well, it's a field of 9 originally, but there are a couple of scratches number four shamayim and number 7 rich strike aren't running. And this is a race Bobby that has Derby points available. The winner gets ten second place four third place two and fourth place one if you're not running on Lasix, but there are about half the field that is running on Lasix. So I find that to be very, very interesting. And you made mention of make it big the safi Joseph trained red oak stable owned Jose Ortiz run two year old who has run twice at Gulfstream park and one impressively at four to 5 in both of those races, those both against state bred competition now into open company and make it big makes a whole lot of sense, but I don't think the state bred competition at Gulfstream park is necessarily as good as the open competition we see in this event and the one I like best is coming out of an open race. It's classic moment for Steve asked me to send Lasix for the first time so not in there for Derby points, but we've talked a lot at Remington park how good Steve asked me since is particularly when he teams with Stuart Elliott and this horse looked really, really good in a Churchill downs maiden special weight last time out after running in what was kind of a key keenland maiden special weight in his debut back in October. He's facing winners for the first time, but a $350,000 son of classic empire. I think he'll like to turns just fine. And this is a race where you can go on a lot of different ways, but classic moment for me. Classic moments certainly looks like he's one of the ones I'm worried about him getting the two turns, and that's the only reason I didn't put him on top. I'm certainly using him in my exotic plays and in my horizontal plays, but I'm worried that he may be bred to be more of a sprinter than a router. So we'll see how he does, going around two turns the speed figures say yes, the breeding says maybe. Breeding wise, I think number 9 Osbourne may be a little bit more apt to handling the two turns being by tapper and especially on the damn side out of a rock hard ten mayor. I think with those two scratches that you mentioned, it will help Osborne more than anyone else in the field. I honestly didn't think either of those horses that were scratched were two of the main contenders in this race, but now that Osbourne is only breaking from the 7 hole and not from the 9 hole, that's certainly going to help him with the short run to the first turn. And I liked what I saw from him going 7 furlongs at Churchill last time out. I think he'll have a good time of it going around two turns. We'll see if Julian la Peru can work out a trip from what is still not the best post position breaking from the outside in the two turn mile. But Osborne for me, classic moment for Dave in tonight's springboard. By the way, neither of us mentioned number three bye bye Bobby. Is this a horse that you're just taking a stand against or do you just think he's good enough? Really hard call for me $870,000 son equality road. I have no idea what to do with the race from xia park, a win was not bet down to the favored in a 7 horse field, the stakes race, not a maiden race, that race. I just have no idea and he needs to prove it to me. He, he might be much the best in here. Didn't get a great speed figure, but to me it's a way to watch one more and see what it looks like. Yeah, I'm wondering how much the pace in that race really helped his chances. He came from 7 or 8 links back, but for some reason, maidens are not maidens, but two year olds at Zia went 21 and two 43 and two and then bye bye Bobby was able to run by them all. Who knows? Maybe he's just a monster in the making, and that was just the stepping stone to bigger and better things. But it sounds like both of us are going to try to take at least a little bit of a shot against bye bye bye bye bye Bobby, who could be one of the favorites in tonight's springboard mile reminder there's a $200,000 guaranteed late pick for pool tonight at Remington, still plenty of time to handicap the first of those races. I think goes at about 9 25 or so Eastern Time looking at the fact 9 25 central time. I apologize. Race ten, 9, 25 central time begins their late pick for what that couple $100,000 guarantee. So still plenty of time to get your handicapping in. Okay, let's jump to tomorrow's action and we'll go up to aqueduct where they've got a couple of nice New York stallion series events and race number 6 is the great white way division of the New York stallion series. These are New York bred two year olds running for a $500,000 per 7 furlongs on the main track at aqueduct. Big field of 11 to go to post here. And I thought this was a wide open event Dave. The morning line favorite is number three masta for Linda rice and era can sell coming off a decent third place finish in the Central Park on the turf last time out. I think it's as wide open as it gets and I have no conviction whatsoever. This is not a race that I'm going to be betting individually. Maybe in a pick four pick 5 not one horse that I particularly like in here maceta and genome number three and number 6 are two of the favorites in the morning line. They've both run three times. They've both run all three of their races on turf. So now trying dirt for the first time and both of them are cutting back from a mile and a 16th on the sod for a one turn 7 furlong race is trained by Linda rice like you mentioned and Linda really, really good going turf to dirt about 29% whereas David dong, the trainer of Geno not good with two year olds, about 5% and not good turf to dirt about 6%. So I like mazzetta among those two. Masthead is my top choice, but boy, you can go a million different ways here. Linda has another in here safa laws mission number four Jose Ortiz will ride 8 to one has not won a race a maiden over two, but it's run okay in two maiden races. I think certainly as possible, Danny garcon off a claim has Hoboken Jack number 7 on the morning line 15 to one guard and his tremendous off the claim wins about one out of three. I think that's a possibility. Kenner for Jamie Ness, a horse that's been running mostly in the mid Atlantic, but did win a race at Belmont park 6 to one on the morning line. I think it's possible. I have no big opinion, I think you can go a lot of ways. Okay, so you're Masada is your top selection in this race? Yep. Okay, I'm going to go with the other Linda rice training number four sappho's mission. I think that Jose Ortiz is going to be riding the better of the two Linda rice runners. Even though Eric can't sell has ridden more lately, for Linda rice, that's back when that's when all the Chad browns and the Todd pledgers and the bill mods and everyone are there and.

"That's just a tremendous rule. It's amazing that it's taken this long and I know the reason behind the original rule is to thwart attempts at quote unquote fixing races if it looks bad if you have two people who are related to each other, riding in the same race and, you know, where if one of them does poorly, and the other one does well, especially if it's opposite of what the public thinks is supposed to happen, the state forced these horses to be coupled in the wagering. So in fact, you know, that eliminates the look of something untoward happening. But unfortunately, it really hurts the entries of the race. It hurts the amount of money that's wagered in the race because let's face it, a racing office who is gotten two horses to enter in the race if they have to be coupled, it only counts as one. It makes the work a lot harder for the racetracks. It makes the work a lot harder for the betters. And I'm glad that they're trying to figure out a way to end this. Yeah, no question. I mean, the bottom line is as a handicapper in a better, there's more money to be made when there are larger fields and fewer entries. But you have to make sure you go about it in the right way. And it seems like they're working towards that. Trevor McCarthy relocated out to Southern California. Wonder if the change in this rule will bring Trevor and Katie back to New York for good or maybe from time to time. It's certainly will help the chances of them getting back to New York, but interesting what's happening in once again, you can read it all on blood horse dot com. Okay, let's get back to the analysis and once again a huge card of racing out at Remington park tonight. Once again, the Oklahoma classics card is tonight, the first race is about one hour after the weekend stakes preview and so 8 O 7 Eastern Time. And right now we're going to take a look at race number 6. This is the Oklahoma classics cup stakes. $175,000 on the line, oaky bread three year olds and up going a mile and a 16th on the main track, a short but sweet field of 6 Dave and a couple of ways you can go, the morning line maker out there has singled out two of them that should get most of the play. Number one, absaroka is 8 to 5 on the line. Number 6, number one dude is three to two. Well, you're going to be hard pressed to pick someone other than absaroka among post positions one through 5. All 5 of those horses ran against each other last time out, absaroka absolutely ran them off the track, a four and three quarter length win was the even money favorite in that race and was much the best. I'm not sure how you're going to come up with don't tell nobody, tonal Italian, united patriot or great faces. Maybe you think you're getting a value. Maybe you think there's a pace situation, but absaroka crushed those four last time out. So to me, it comes down to absaroka and number one dude. Number one dude has won 5 of 6 races all time against state breads. So two of three losses were against open company in here against state breads and to me this comes down to does absaroka have controlling speed and does that mean absaroka goes out on the lead easy peasy and goes ahead and wins. I think that's completely possible. I think number one dude has been running against better horses and that's my pick. Okay, so you're going with number 6 number one dude, I'm going to take number one absaroka for everything that you mentioned. I think he's better than the other four that he's been running against. He has to deal with number one dude. I don't know if he's better than number one dude. I think he'll be in front of number one dude, and when absaroka gets in front, he's usually very difficult to beat. I think the only ones who can press absaroka early on are maybe number four united patriot, who tried to run with him for a little while last time out, but gave it up by the time they got to the far turn or number one dude whose a horse that's very capable of laying close to the pace will see if these two are one two with the quarter pole be fun race to watch who's going to be stronger that last 24 25 seconds or so absaroka for me, number one dude for Dave in the 6th race tonight at Remington park, the Oklahoma classics cup $175,000 on the line. Jump ahead to the 8th race tonight Dave. It's the Oklahoma classics distaff stakes. Phillies and mayors here going 6 furlongs on the main track and a big field of ten going to post. Yeah, and this is one of those races. Sometimes you handicap a race and you come to a conclusion and you feel really, really confident and you jump up and down about it and you bet with both hands. This is kind of the opposite. I went through this whole race, the horse I like I don't actually really like. I'm not that excited about it. Now, I'll tell you who maybe is the most logical horse Sunday flashback number three just an absolutely huge figure last time out off a layoff running 6 and a half for a long Remington. I think there's a lot of speed in this race. I'm dying to find something that comes off the pace. I ended up with our musical moment number 8 who's 8 to one on the morning line very well maybe double figures. I'm totally enamored with the fact that this horse has not been running against Oklahoma breads..

"Fast breaking cash is facing a little bit softer than what he's been facing. I know most of his recent starts have been an allowance races, but as you mentioned, he's been running in wide open allowance races very few restricted state bred races. In fact, only one of his last ten starts was against Oklahoma breads, and it was in the Oklahoma classics cup at a mile in a 16th last year. He actually almost won that race. I think he's better sprinting than routing. I love the rider change. He goes from Luis quinones to Ramon Vasquez. Sounds like goes from one very capable rider to another, but the flame facts are that Ramon Vasquez wins twice as often as Louisiana's does. Luis canones is about a 9 or 10% rider whereas Ramon Vasquez is almost a 20% rider, not only at this meet, but throughout the year. So I like number one fast breaking cash as well. And if you can get hit 5 to one morning line, I would take it on him. We're both trying to upset the well, the certainly one of the greatest horses that's ever called Remington park home, if not the greatest in welder who is 6 to 5 on the line and bidding for his 28th career win fast break in cash for both Dave and myself in the classic sprint stakes race three tonight at Remington park. Fourth race on tonight's Remington card is the classic distaff turf stakes. Oklahoma bred Phillies and mares going a mile and a 16th on the turf. We've got a nice field of 9 here, Dave, where'd you end up? Well, alternative slough on the outside looks the best to me, but I am flat out not willing to play that post position in a Remington park myelin is 16th race. At races 7 and a half furlongs or more, this meat on the turf at Remington, the inside 5 posts have won 41 races and the outside post 6 and above have won 8. The 9 post and bigger one out of 64 at the meat. So alternative slew to me looks like the best horse, his jockey, however, ends up on the 7 run sloopy run who's twofer two at Remington and three for three with quinones up. I am looking for something on the inside. I ended up with country daisy, the one horse who lost to run swoopy run and fairly convincingly last time out. But I'm playing the numbers and the numbers say you want to be as close to the inside as possible. I'm also going to go with the rail mayor and number one country daisy, different reasons. I do like the inside post. I also like the fact that she was actually favored against run sloopy run last time out when she was beaten by three lengths by that foe. Now you're gonna get a better price on country daisy instead of taking two to one last time out. She's 9 to two on the morning line today for very capable trainer Jackie team of ray ash where junior and Leandro congos stretching out to a mile and a 16th. I don't know if that's going to hurt her chances she gave it up a little bit down the lane last time. She's kind of hit and miss that. Sometimes she finishes strongly sometimes she looks like she makes too early of a move and kind of hangs a little bit in the stretch, but that's why gun call this gets paid the big money. He's going to have to time the move on this 5 year old daughter of country day just right to get her to go the mile in a 16th. Last time she ran a mile in a 16th, was on the main track, or the only track at Will Rogers downs, and she ran very, very well that day. So I don't think the distance will hurt her, but she may be a mayor that has a very short spurt and can call this is going to have to time it right with country days. He either way, Dave and I go with going with number one country daisy 9 to two on the morning line in race number four tonight at Remington park, the Oklahoma classics distaff turf stakes. We're going to take our first break when we come back. We'll look more at tonight's Remington park card. You're listening to the weekend stakes preview presented by nyra betts on the horse racing, radio.

"On until firewall they were until 5 o'clock today. Tomorrow, they're actually going to be on early day starting 8 a.m. Eastern Time to 1130 a.m. covering British champions day and then the regularly scheduled America's day at the races from 1230 to three 30, then back on Sunday from 1230 to 5 30 p.m.. Those times are Eastern Time and they do a great job covering all the races from New York, whether it's aqueduct Belmont or Saratoga. All right, Dave, let's jump right in with the first of 6 Remington park races that we're going to cover on The Today Show. They actually have more stakes than that. We don't have time for all of their stakes. So we're going to cover the 6 biggest ones. They've got on the card tonight. By the way, if you are going to be playing Remington park tonight, their first race is 8 O 7 Eastern Time. So you're going to have a little over an hour after the weekend stakes preview is over before the card starts at Remington park. And the first race we're going to look at is the second race on the card. It's the Oklahoma classics distaff stakes easy for me to say $145,000 the purse. These are Oklahoma bread Phillies and mayors going a mile and 70 yards on their main track field of 8 Dave and it marks the return of last year's classic distaff champion. She's all wolf. Yeah, I think this is a really tough race. And in fact, I think the majority of the card at Remington is competitive, not necessarily straightforward and maybe we can find a price or two. She's all wolf makes a ton of sense four or 5 at Remington going turf to dirt and probably is a better dirt horse than a turf horse really like the wind in May at Churchill downs. But if you like she's all wolf, I think it kind of have to also like lady orchid. They've been running kind of very similarly against each other and in last year's race only ahead was the difference between she's all wolf who beat lady orchid. I'm gonna try to go a little bit of a different direction here. I don't think there is a ton of speed in here. And I think gotta see red is either gonna be on the lead or just off the lead, second off the layoff, high percentage barn, good jockey, got to see red as one three straight, needs to do better, stepping up has never run a fig, good enough, but I think I'm gonna get a decent price and that's where I landed. Well, I agree that got to see red has a big chance if she makes the lead in here. I disagree, though. I think the pace will be honest in here. There are enough Phillies and mirrors in this race who are stretching back out from sprints to a route that I think the pace could be honest in this spot. I'm gonna try lady orchid. She's been first or second all 5 times that she's run on the main track at Remington park. For some reason, they keep trying to make her into a turf mayor, and she's just not as good on the turf as she is on the dirt back onto what I think is her preferred surface. Second start off the layoff for trainer Francisco, bravo, who's not off to a great start at Remington park, but overall in 2021, is clicking at almost 20%. I think lady orchid getting back to what I think is her preferred surface will get the job done in race number two, the Oklahoma classics distaste stakes second race tonight at Remington park. The third race tonight may be one of the more anticipated races it is the Oklahoma classics sprint stakes, a $130,000 to purse. These are oaky bread three year olds and up sprinting 6 furlongs on the main track at Remington park. We heard in the intro, the last year's classic sprint stretch run, one by welder, welder is, well, he's probably the best sprinter that's ever run on a consistent basis at Remington park. It's the place he does his best running day 15 career wins on the main track at Remington park, but he is an 8 year old now. And let's face it, he's not as good now as he was a few years ago. Yeah, I mean, welder crushes state bred horses. And that's what he faces in this race. The figs make a ton of sense, and he's coming out a better races. He's coming out of open races. But his form isn't great. And as you mentioned, he's 8 years old. He went off as an enormous favored in this race last year and one easily. The horse that was second in that race was mesa moon who again will try to beat welder today. I'm wondering if there's anything that can come off the pace in here while there will be forwardly placed mason moon will be forwardly placed. I want to take fast breaking cash number one first off a layoff. But boy, you just stare has lost 12 races in a row. The morning line is 5 to one. If you give me 6 8 to one, I'm probably gonna make a small investment in fast breaking cash. Is there someone you like that you think can sit a trip in here or not really? I think you've picked the horse that's gonna sit the trip and I agree with number one fast break in cash and I'm happy with the 5 to one on the morning line. I also think fast breaking cash is facing a little bit softer than what he's been facing. I know most of his recent starts have been an allowance races, but as you mentioned, he's.

"Listen she was good enough to be within two lengths of gha mean. That's good enough to win. Just about any filly and mare sprint. There is in the country. And you know what camin isn't in this race lake and lake avenue for both me and dave in the grey to gallant bloom. Quarter million dollar race goes as the ninth on the card sunday at belmont park. Well mentioned earlier. That sunday is a huge day at remington park. It's really their marquee. They've got steaks all up and down there. Sunday program dave and we're going to take a look at a couple of them starting with race number eight. It's the two hundred thousand dollar grade. Three remington park oaks for the three year. Old fillies going a mile and a sixteenth on the main track. We've got a field of seven here a lot of very very talented runners. The morning line favorite is number. One pollings pearl coming off a couple of in the money finishes charlestown and prairie meadows. Or last two. She actually ran a decent race in the grade. One kentucky oaks prior to that drawn well toward the inside. She makes sense as the favorite. But i she certainly doesn't lay over this field. I just don't think she's beaten anybody. That makes me abundantly confident. She fits for sure and may win. And you have to respect asked me sending santana and stonecrest. I'm just not like blown away very very viable for sure. The number seven lady mystify coming in from southern california for peterman and fluffy and prod going to show speed in this race. The figs earl glow. But i'm interested. Throw out the last blade in that race prior to against not a whole lot were really really good but the one i like best is amendment. Nineteen for brad cox. You don't know first. Time trying to turns but i think the last race a pretty good second at saratoga. It's says it's an hour race but one hundred thousand dollars. Non winners of one other maiden lifetime that race came back reasonably well. And that's where. I'm going. Brad cox first time training twenty six percent horse coming out of a race. Saratoga i feel best about amendment nineteen okay. We're on the same philly once again amendment. Nineteen for me for everything that you said. listen. I don't think she leaves over the field but i think she has more upside than just about everyone because she only has three races lifetime she. She goes from one very good barn to another from linda. Rice to brad cox But being by constitution. I don't think the mile and a sixteenth distance will hurt her. She's she's kind of got greenware. She's bread more for a route on the on the top side and more for a sprint out of carson city on the dan side well. She's run pretty well at six furlongs. Seven furlongs in a one turn mile us far trying to turn for the first time. Yes there are question marks. But i believe in her. I believe in trainer. Brad cox and i certainly believe in jockey joel. Rosario seventy-two on the morning line. I think that's a fair price for amendment. Nineteen we both like her in the grade. Three remington park oaks race eight on the remington card. This sunday the marquee event on sunday at remington park is the grade three oklahoma derby race number eleven. Four hundred thousand dollars on the line..

"In that race points. Fourteen right like the post. It was a jockey who at the time. I was not familiar with their like fifth. String for a kumar right and not you know not coming in with the best resume and i said there's just no chance that this horse wins but i'm not going to sit here and us ten of the fourteen horses. I might as well just hit all in this race. And lo and behold the source comes rolling home and thankfully monoploy girl and authentic also got their jobs done in the pick for ended up paying really well despite me all ling both of those the turf and the mile. Yeah i mean rarely and and Yeah that's you're right about that strategy as well. Even if you'd like a favorite i mean you get some really bombed. It can run in there. I've seen those results as well like underneath and the in the breeders cup ma or you've have favorites in fifty to one shots underneath and Yeah there's it's going to be What what are your thoughts on park opening up The first week in december well my honest thoughts are that they're opening because they have a hotel there and the easiest way to get that hotel filled is to have live racing. And if you live racing during the winter holidays than that place will be jam packed so that. That's that's what i think. The real reason is behind it. You know i'd like to think. Well we just wanna run longer and the weather is going to be nicer in december. Which i'm told the weather is actually better there in december than it can be january or february. We'll see i have not. I have not been to hot springs that time of year. My guess is it has a lot to do with that hotel and with the with the casino in the race and sports book and getting people to that area for a longer period of time. I think if i was a horseman i might have little stronger views. I i know. I don't want to mention the guy's name guy who wins. A lot of races at oaklawn in wins a lot of races at remington park. And now they're going to overlap a little bit and he is one hundred percent not happy about this. He likes taking all of them from one place in going to the other place and relocating and all that and it makes things tougher. But i'm sure there are pluses and minuses to everything. Whatever it is what they're doing at oaklawn park for the most part is nothing but good and you can see it in their racing product. You can see it in their purse. I mean they're racing. I know they don't have a turf course but they're racing has been absolutely phenomenal. The last couple of years last three or four years. And i'm not just talking about the horses. They're getting in the rebel in the arkansas derby in the southwest and things like i mean just on a daily basis. They get nice big fields horses from everywhere very contentious races. See a lotta horses ship in southern california for races there and more and more stables for big trainers that would never thought about sending a division to the midwest in the winter months. You're right about that weather. I did see that as well because it has been just terrible. I get seemingly in february as well there so maybe maybe that will benefit them. You know that getting. I didn't really thought about that hotel angle. Because last time. I was there two years ago and casino. They just bus people in but yeah getting people to stay overnight and the holiday experience would probably be part of it and i'll say this about remington they. I wonder if that will affect because you're right about that december that's like all their big races are right there. In mid december the remington springboard mylan trapeze. And all those races. I remember one year. They ran them on a sunday night at nine thirty eastern. It was unbelievable. Had to run a recap of that all right. We're gonna take a break when we come back we'll have more here on the net dot com call and also get to our blood horse news. Update this is the night dot com call in show here on h. r. n. Phone lines are open. Eight eight.

Are you guys get a like hash hash whatever you is had gone on last weekend or are you guys that water under the bridge. Now well once. He admits that watching racing from remington park. Is pointless then. Sure i'll bury the hatchet once you met the you're boring. Then we'll be right or i i i don't i mean there's so much going on and we're watching. What is that ten thousand clamours from remington park. I just have interests that's fifteen. Second race is fifteen thousand claimer. So we're gonna let ricky you need to you know in mixed. Oh gotta bring the energy on this show okay. i'm ready. i'm sure next goal was quivering his barn seeing. Who's going to win these races tonight. It might be no. I need the energy. Because it's been since i got back. I've basically been sick. So this is the first day that i felt somewhat okay. The boys the boys back the next day and we all have been sick had colds which might sound like that. The sense and it's been you know. Maybe you to your young buck ricky. There's been sleeping in relaxing now. I'm not. I've got a good night's sleep since well not it wasn't a saratoga so it's been a minute. It's not obviously of so. I needed to bring you know high-energy ricky on the show. So i need it. I'm ready to go. hopefully we get some football scores. Hopefully remington park caches for This site thursday night. There's no pro football but we got some college. We had some horse racing big weekend across the country in terms of horse racing. So i'm sure we'll dive into that as well. There's a lot to light on labor day weekend. A little preview. You know. I love it the magic my guys are commenting on their show and this being fantastic exciting show when i've watched their show once or twice. It's usually what i put the kids to bed with. Actually so that's usually high handle that mark. Says poor comment is great show. Is that a madison quote. A love it mark. Hey we got big show. We're obviously going to dive into the travers and obviously is a quality. Wins that over miniver and we were all three of us were. So we're gonna talk about that. We're going talk over the guide including all the recap recap of all the undercard. Stakes rates of. The day was amazing native jockey who cares you know it was just amazing day of racing. The stars were there and they showed up but before we get into any of that. Let's start with ricky. Because i'm seeing if he's got a best thing he saw the day. Was he prepared. The best thing. I thought today is that might suit for the wedding. This weekend fits i. I tried it on for the first time in probably since i graduated college and fit i was really happy because it would have been pretty bad. So that was the best thing i saw had nothing to do with me There wasn't a lot going on to be honest. I could've went with floods in new jersey. Aaron aaron jared. You're the only one to ask me. If i was okay so i appreciate literally the only person to ask me a wall i've been. I've been sleep deprived of probably know who was texting honestly so well acquainted as a complement of the fact that the suit fit is the best thing i saw. That would have been in trump. And that's not i. I don't know what i would have done win. I need it win. Does the girl get in tomorrow afternoon. Right around twelve forty five so that suit better fit otherwise. I was enough to open that wallet just like i did. It's berries and i would have had to again for two weeks in a row big day. Big day tomorrow. This is a day a big day. I think for the whole brand for the whole race in dudes brand like how what happens. Do i mess it up. Is it a bad look. pr wise. There'll be plenty of texts and exchanged phone calls exchange. So you guys will be kept up hour by hour on how go health Close.

"He was doing like broadcasts on like yahoo. You know to fifty people or something and you know really just kinda created his own little thing and i told him in a opposite. Do that with announcing boat with the podcast counted the same thing i mentioned your name and david gonna was someone who else who did that. To some degree pat cummings to think path maybe gets forgot about. You know they'll do by race night days but you know he was a one man do by crew and the next thing you knew he was kind of the wager guy for dubai and he really built it into a thing like i think. There's a lot of examples in racing of people who kind of you know like you said credit created these little nieces or basically created careers. Oh absolutely and it's the biggest thing. I say you know every now and then somebody who's young well even now still message me on facebook on twitter saying you. I love racing. I wanna work in the field. What do i do. And i always say that i say find something that nobody else does. And maybe that sounds more daunting than it is but there. There's so many things out there that you don't see done on the big national networks just because you know the limited resources only so much you can do with the time you have on there and the people you have so it's not any discredit to them. That's just realities so i. I always tell people finals avenues that nobody else is covering and tried to cover it. But but you're right. There have been a number of people that have done it and variety of past. I mean i know for me. When i first got into racing i was out occasionally walk and work with julie allowed in south florida. So you do a little bit of everything. My ultimately wound up getting a job With worst player. Now jeremy plock and they did fan education and so that was my first real experience the on air we would do full card. You know live radio. You know internet radio shows and i always say now looking back. That was the best decision i ever made in. My career was to take that job because it would be oftentimes me and one other person. Sometimes it was jeremy punk sometimes with keeton radar. That was my first experience working her before. Tv gee isn't that does brian natto. There were a number of us but it was only two of us and you got a whole card and you only had one track. That's hard. I don't remember when i went to tv. They would say before. I started doing australia. David say like well you comfortable doing a show for two hours. And they said yeah. We have four track. I i used to do one track for what's logger. I remember telling one of our guys in our final meeting the day before i started. My first day of on their australia is my very first. On air day of my life was with horse player now and it was with remington park. And just going to make a joke about that like you must have been on the seventh quarter horse race at remington me like well. Let's talk about the three hundred thirty accurate pillows. It was remington park and it was knee and it was jerry sean kirk people you know if you follow remington you know him and Jeremy had said to me. Don't worry about it like jerry. Does the morning line select. He knows everything. You're the host is gonna be so easy. And i'm like okay cool because i've never done quarterhorse racing so i to go handicap. The races and i realized that it was Remington park futurity trial as in. It was all two year olds never raised. None of them would race raised. And so i'm like well. This is fantastic. And i remember i actually went through every single race and looked up the trainer and the owners and the pedigree of every horse. I don't know how many hundreds of forces were. it took me seven hours to handicap the card. But that's how you learn and that's how you grow and so it really was one of the best experiences that i have ever had in my career. It pushed me to the level. I needed to be at longest racetrack day. Ever had my life was louisiana downs. Two year old quarter horse trials for their big race. It was like sixteen raises ten horses. And everyone all unraced to your. Yep there you go. That's how it is. This day was twelve twelve races but yeah all unraced two year old. You know things are gonna happen. Delays you you come to expect us. The i love hearing your opinions when we have zoom chats on wagering and stuff and if i remember you had a bath background in school right. Was that part of what made the wagering side of things interesting to you or was it. Just the waging side of things is fun. Both i mean i just think like my dad and my uncles. They gamble so. I probably have a little bit of that. My blood from them. I suppose i would say But i do think my math background plays a role you know. It's funny when. I first when i was pretty new to tv. Do you still there for about six months. And they had a big four of all of these Very high ranking officials with patty power and sports bed and now all of their differently during entities before all of them merged together and they invited a number of talent there. But i was one of them and somebody asked me they. I see that you have a math background you know. Can you explain how that affects you on air. Everybody expects me to say like well. I'm great with number. And so i'm great with during statistics and all this stuff and i said i actually don't use numbers a lot in my own personal handicapping But what it did. Help me with on air was. I always felt like my arguments for sound know in the math. Matic background so much of that is logical reasoning and critical thinking. Felt like the argument. That i'm giving to you is sound the horse might run and i. It's happened all. But but i always knew i wasn't contradicting myself. Which is kind of a pet teeth. The with analysis so often everywhere. It's just you know it is what it is and i get it but i've always loved the wagering aspect of the game. It's always what drew me to the game. And i think if anything. I just appreciate that. I have a mathematics background so that i can have a better understanding of why there are ways of wagering that are maybe correct too harsh of a term. Are you know off to mom versus other ways. That are probably putting yourself in a poor position when it comes to wanting to make a long term prophet and and that's where i always try to stick myself with a pretty aggressive Better myself so. I've always said on air countless times that my strategy might not be your strategy and i totally get that. We all have different levels of being aggressive that. We're comfortable with me. But i always tried to explain why was doing something and i think that's important is to tell people not not just doing this. This is why i'm doing it. And this applies important to to know that because they might be able to take those lives and apply it to a system that works for them. I would think the kind of given the circumstances of your show where you maybe had a little more time and you're by yourself and obviously there wasn't a ton of tracks going on late at night like that i would think it may be allowed for you to have those discussions a little more. Because you know..

"Native of Winnipeg since two thousand nine he has trained one hundred fourteen winners, but how about this through the first forty four days of two thousand nineteen he has sent out ten starters resulting in six wins and two second place finishes think about that eighty percent first or second this year, the moral of the story do not leave his horses out of your exact is if you're betting the races in New York this winter he is rob actress and he is with us now on trainer talk presented by phasing. Tipton? Rob welcome to the show. Hey, guys. How you doing? Thanks for having me. Yeah. Doing great eighty percent. I or secret first or second. Let's get this out right now. What's the secret? My friend. I don't think there's any secret. I I think I think I fell into a fortunate situation picked up some decent horses. We put them all in, you know, very logical spot, and I got I had Manny Franko in junior Alvarado or riding lights out. They they wrote all the winners, and they wrote them great. And I think that's that's pretty much, you know, putting them in the right spot and getting fortunate trips in great rides. We have something to do with the semblance your team. I mean, you're of course at the center, but you know, you've got the right jockeys riding. I'm sure you're your staff is great. I know your wife helps you out. It's it's nice when everything falls together like that. But it's not really accidental you had to have a big say in that outcome. Yeah. No for sure, you know, when I first started the January first is when I took over the remaining horses that were left here. I had I had two guys that I've been working with for two years Braulio Fernandez and Rafael to go work with me for all. There was a writer and Rafael with my form end with Robert Keno for three years, they stayed with me, you know. So is nothing new to them. And nothing new to me, you know, working with them. And we kinda you know, we had the same kind of system. We we knew what to do. And and then, you know, obviously, my my wife Britney works with me. And she says she does pretty much everything she she rides the she thinks care the helps. Groom just you know, we all kind of worked together as a team. And so far it's been working. Yeah. Rubber Tino Diadora. You mentioned rubber Tino. He was on this program a couple years back and he much like you a native of Canada and somebody's head a lot. Of success training in his career. And now you talked about taking over the horses that he left when I guess he went to Oakland this winter. Right. So you took over for him and your your training at aquit full-time. Yeah. Yeah. That's right. Actually, I I remember that show. I was Remington parking time. I remember listening to the show when he was on with you guys. He was a pretty good hockey player. If I recall from that interview is that right? Yeah. I didn't you know, we're from different parking Canada. But far as I know he was he had to make a choice between playing hockey and then bringing horses, you know, he apparently was a real good goaltender. I guess you weren't a hockey player. Actually, I I was and we're okay. I think I made it up to. Yeah.
