"Just on a really bad foot and it's really nice to turn it around. But yeah, it's pretty simple man. It's just buying in and putting that effort that hard work every single day and as the years gone on is showing off and it's gotten better for sure. Thanks for the question. So Tyler, I want to ask you about the hot topic of the week, which is non playoff drivers racing playoff drivers, so I want to know from you, is there an etiquette? I mean, I know obviously got into William Byron at the roble. You side drafted him pretty tough at Texas as well, but is there a certain etiquette? You're trying to follow because after all you're trying to win a race as DJ mentioned a moment ago, you have sponsors. You have a team to play. So kind of walking me through that etiquette. It's gotten so much more difficult, I think, with the 5 50 package and the racetracks, the mile and a half in general. But as you saw right there, you know, this is low down force high, high horsepower. And trying to go for the win. Yeah, it really stinks, right? You don't want to be the guy that changes someone's postseason. And, you know, I've set that tone whenever and hopefully when we get ourselves in that position years to come, I've opened that door for myself to potentially have that taken away from me the same way. So something I got to live with, but at the same time, these 5 50 tracks, it's just the racing and how hard you have to push for every single spot is just really made it a very tough battle. There's times that the guys or playoff I should say, I guess you should say the playoff contenders are going to be two or three times faster than you and it's going to be situational because a lap traffic or this or that. And if you let them go, you might find yourself chasing them around for the next 70 laps because there's not a good opportunity to get back around them. And I can change your whole day, especially if you're pitted right in front of them, and then you have to be coming around them. So it's a really tough line to walk, especially with the way this package is on the mile and a house because you just you never know when one opportunity and how it just kind of snowballs throughout the day. Like one position here can turn into two or three. Next thing you know, you're running 6 or 7th and guys you were faster than or winning the race because you decided to be nice or kind of a break or this or that. So it's just a tough thing and I don't know what the right answer for it is. You just got to race really hard and when someone's someone's got position on you, you know, just once you've lost it, you gotta give it up. Don't make it too challenging. Well, as Ryan Blaney said post race, you got to drive like a jerk. I'm cleaning that up. These days, but you have to drive like a jerk in this 5 50 package, no doubt about it, but you guys Randall Burnett, the entire 18 we've been doing a fantastic job. Everyone at RCR as well. So congrats on the success. And hopefully we'll see in victory lane soon. Yeah, thank you. And I mean, it's the truth. You got to drive like that. If you take the airway, they're never going to pass you. So, you know, it really does look like you're driving like a jerk, but it makes entertaining. So we'll keep digging but thank you guys. Cool man. Appreciate your time. Kyle Reddick joining us here today. When we come back, our buddy Nate rile, join us. We'll talk a little likes fatty series racing. Also, chat a little bit about chase Elliott as well. That's.

"Look forward to seeing you Sunday in Kansas. Sounds good. Thanks, guys. Thanks for having me. My man. What Daniels joining us and certainly that team on a roll, and I know it's got to be relaxing for them to enjoy this week. When we come back, Tyler reticle will join us here on motor mouse. What happened this weekend at Kansas Kyle? We're gonna be busy. Pre race show on Saturday, the next 50 series racing. Those are on NBC. We see us in for the Cup Series race. Big hour long pre ratio. See all that wind back there Kyle, that's gonna be, is that Kansas? You and me and DJ on the front of the grid. Hoping at the blog. It's gonna be windy. Weather looks like it's gonna be good this weekend. Can I wait to get to Kansas? I know another guy who can't wait to get to Kansas. Tyler Reddick because he has been mister playoff disrupter lately, running up front. Nearly won the race at Texas, we welcome in Tyler Reddick. And I tell you what, I wonder how you feel like the 18 has really established themselves in these playoff Tyler because week after week you guys were up there with a chance to win the race. Yeah, certainly, Marty, the last three weeks have been a lot of fun. Pretty much ever since we unfortunately missed the cut by about two points. It seems about that point on when it was very easy to give up. We haven't done that at all. We've dug down deep and we've continued to put out really, really fast Chevrolet's. And, you know, we just keep fighting. Unfortunately, not for a championship, but for own personal goals. And I mean, it doesn't get talked about that often, but still, there's huge points battle from 16th to 5th. As soon as these playoffs got rolling in his more teams, get eliminated. There's a lot of points in a lot of positions up for grabs. So I mean, if we can win a race, that'd be great. But we're also still trying to get as many points as we can. And best case, we can finish 5th. I think we're 12th right now. So we still got work to do. Tyler, I'm glad this is your background because I remember doing one of these things with you and you walked all around the house trying to find signal one time when we were doing it. We finally ended up out on the porch. That was a fantastic way. To expand on that, you have been the hot topic of conversation for the last two or three weeks. And you had some moments during the year where we said, okay, this is going to be the race. This is going to be the race. But when you start doing it every week, like you're doing it right now. Then that wins right around the corner. How close do you think you guys really are at this point in time when it gets tougher at the end of the season? And what has been the change that has brought you guys this fast this forward? Well, we just continue to work on the details as some of us that have that have the Cup Series experience knows you've got to be good everywhere. Pit road restart. You can't afford to make mistakes in any area. And while we recognize that and while something we continue to make better, still, throughout the entire year, we haven't had a race yet that was completely mistake free and in each of those words that really close like the role Texas and in some races earlier in the year. We were able to point to one or two mistakes that ultimately are the deciding factor. So we can just have one race between now and the championship forward that's being decided at Phoenix. We'll mistake free race. I think we we've now rounded our team enough and gotten better. On all fronts enough to be able to get a win. It's just can't do stuff like that. I can't be running to William Byron trying to get the perfect side draft and get loose and try and crash in front of the field. It's a little mistakes, man, but we're spending more time up front. We're getting closer. And while the mistake free race hasn't happened yet on my behalf, the team sure rallied. We've been working really hard. So Tyler, I'm going to take you out of your driver mode now you've answered those questions. I want to put you in the mode of an analyst and get the talk like we are about the Xfinity series, which are two time champion of that. When you look at this lineup and the battle that's going on right now and a number of playoffs, non playoff drivers are winning these races. What are these drivers the pressure that they're under? And what's it like going to Kansas in that situation? But it's a tough one. And in my situation, well, I think when I was with junior motor sports, it was kind of a calmer day, more straightforward, went pretty well. We got out of there without getting ourselves in trouble. I believe that race a couple of years ago, a lot of cars got collected in a lap one crash that wiped out a lot of playoff. Contenders. The time after that was the one that me and Cole Custer gotten a little pushing match like you see some kids getting it in the sandbox and the playground. We got a little shovel map, so you guys still hear me? Yeah, we got you. Go ahead. Yeah. Okay, sorry. Yeah, it's an easy place to make mistakes. Cancel the type of track where there is some tire fall off the expand cars. You have the gas. You got to really search across the racetrack. So it's an edgy place, but the cars that are going to be fast are going to be front all day long, and the guys that don't have the cars is going to be very easy to make that mistake, get in the wall and end your day, or, you know, I guess the Xfinity car just you can hit the wall it'd be fine. I've done it, but you don't want to crash. That's pretty easy to do at Kansas. I've done it a few times myself. It's edgy in that wind doesn't help, does it? I mean, it's just pushing you into the wall. That's huge. Absolutely. The wind is a big deal, especially for the rich many cars. We have someone on the line for you here. NASCAR is on the line to chat with you, Tyler. NASCAR, go ahead, you're on the line with Tyler Reddick. Hey, Tyler, thanks for taking the time. You know, you are right now driving on rails. But I feel RCR.

"Are guys that aren't racing for the championship. These are guys that have already been eliminated. This is, you know, we're talking William Byron and we're talking Tyler Reddick. They're the guys that have been more competitive with Kyle Larson lately. So DJ with Larson winning, there you see chase LA below the cut line. Be really think that the 5 team is like one. All right, we're all in. We're gonna get chase Elliott into the next round. This week at the shop. Everybody else at Hendrick motor sports might be thinking that, but this 5 team isn't. They know the man went there in one the championship and won the race and won the championship last year. Why would they really want to race him? I realized in their mind right now, they don't really care who they're going to race, but to say that they're going to do anything extra to try to help chase Elliott. I don't know how you do that at this point, if there was something to be gained there. They obviously have the information right in front of them there. But I think the bigger thing to me is that chase Elliott hasn't won on and over. You know, his two wins are from the road course. And there's nothing that I've really seen that shows me that he can contend with the 5 car and a couple of others, even William Byron right now. And Tyler Reddick. So I think that they've got their work cut out more than just saying, oh, we're going to get help from the 5 teams since they're already in. DJ I want to hear from you and Kyle on this. You brought up those two guys. William Byron Tyler Reddick. So we have this conversation every year, non playoff drivers versus playoff drivers. How do you treat them? How do you race around them? But I'll tell you what, the 24 in the 8 are legit. They are they can win races right now. It's a little bit of a different conversation this year because they're in the mix. They're running up front. I mean, Tyler Reddick started on the second row on the final restart at Texas. So what do you think about how these non playoff drivers should race playoff drivers, especially when you look at what Suarez and the 19 and what happened with those two guys on Sunday? Yeah, it's another race is another week. You always say all the time that the sport of NASCAR racing and the playoffs are totally different than any other sport. And that's one of the great things that separates our sport. Is that everybody else is still involved. Well, everybody else has something to do. They're racing. A lot of these drivers are racing for their future for their livelihood. You know, it means a lot. They have sponsors they're trying to impress. Car owners they're trying to impress. You know, Tyler Reddick wants to get that first win. If he can do that, he doesn't really care who these who might be an expensive that happening. He's not going out there looking to wreck anyone, but he's an aggressive race driver. And you can't take that away just because these other guys are in the playoffs and trying to move forward and be a part of the championship for. So and Daniel Suarez. I mean, for track house racing and Daniel Suarez, he was racing at Texas to get a top ten finish. That's huge for that race team. So you can't fault him for what he did there. Not.

"Yeah, I actually agree with that because I think that I know, I mean, listen, think about your Friends and stuff that had parents that were divorced. And like, you know, it was like, oh, that's my dad. No, that's my dad. No, that's my dad. And then, you know, they're like, I don't know. I never really had a dad, but I had 7 also of them. Right. And imagine, like, again, so I will say in this storyline and which this was the entire episode, right? Was I agree with her? The girlfriend shouldn't be around the kid yet. Like if you're gonna come get the child and take it to Philadelphia, then that's your time with your child. Yes. Doesn't need to be around. Okay, but here's my problem. This is the biggest problem with this. So this is I think his second girlfriend or at least the second one we know about. He lied for no reason. He lied because Kayla's in love with him. And he knows that. Yeah, that's what boys do, girls. Yeah, I hate it. I hate it. But then you guys call us crazy. Yes. And now I'm mad for a different reason. But the problem is it's not about him bringing. I don't think that she's mad about him bringing her around a girl. I think she's mad that he has a girlfriend. I don't know, though he gave her I'm telling you. She's in love with him. Well, I want to know. So I don't know if they were married. I want to know if he has legal rights to this kid. I want to know what the arrangement is. Because remember, danae was supposedly going to be bracing father, which is why bracing as half of Dana's name. Yes. But these two, this is a different scenario. These two went in as a couple, got into, I'm sure he signed the birth certificate. I guarantee you he's on the birth certificate..

That's a really good Rachel's mom right there. Yeah. That's really, really good. Listen, they're my people. Yeah. I have people. Well, then, of course, I realized you're driving this bus, but then all of a sudden she's just at an air-b-n-b, you know? Well, she's used to her money from babysitting. Babysitting. Okay, again, Jared, you have kids, right? Yes. Yeah. Rachel's gonna babysit. Are you in? No. And also, it doesn't count as babysitting if it's your own kid. No, but that extra one. There's an extra one. I know. There's an extra one. Yeah. Someone that thinks it's a good idea. To a child. Was like, you know what? I can not take care of the show right now. Rachel is the next best thing Rachel's gonna be over here. I trust Rachel. It's gonna be fine. That's gonna be fun. Yeah, it's a good idea. Yeah. She's in the air-b-n-b, where her baby is sitting money. And Cody, Cody, I love, I just love how angry she is, even when she's just talking nicely. She's combative. She's like, Cody's mad at me because I was texting four guys and, you know, it's not the point. You know, they're my Friends, and I only have four other guys that I text with this problem. Yeah. Anyway, I'm on my way over there. I love you. Okay, I love you too. Okay, but that's what I'm saying. She's making it like this is Gary's fault. Yes. She makes it like Gary and Christina put the shit on the Internet about her. Not what happened. She was talking mad shit about them and they raise your child. You're a terrible person. Well, she was hoping, quote, they would see the raw emotion of a human being. It was a fake emotion of a human being. It was wrong. It was very wrong. Brutal to do that to a kid too, you know? Well, she's blaming a 100%. Blaming all the way about that is though, is her mom and her brother, both are just kind of started shutting her shit down going, you know, her brother, her mother enables herself. Well, but this episode she did say, Leah is a child. Olive mouth. Amber. She is a drunk. Some people are like, it's not right to make fun of people's accents. That is not an accent. She has something rolling in her mouth constantly. She has a marble. It's perfectly fine to make fun of that. So now Christina and Gary, Christina's like, listen, I forgive amber for everything. When do we canonize her? I don't understand Christina. We love her so much he really lucked out with it. He did. And Gary's like, yeah, you know, I really want to see James. It's like, I'm sorry, are you the nicest person ever? So nice. Yeah. I'll tell you this. He actually is. Like, that's him off camera. I believe there has to be. It has to be. When you go onto this race you can kind of pick and choose between where you can make your car stronger. But it's tough because you really want to be fast if you have the track position through through the ashes at the very important part of the lap and if female nail that right it's gonna be a great lap. You miss it. You're gonna have a terrible lap. You a car. That can get through this as good. But it's really hard to pass going through that section of the race. Track the easier places to pass with the heavy braking zones obviously and some of the slower areas On the other side of the back side of the track by the carousel and that stadium section. So i think drivers will be debating with the crew chiefs in themselves. Like what. What do we do here. Do we be pretty good everywhere. We're going to give up some in the areas where it's hard to pass and and try and push to have a better car that can attack pass in those areas where i think you'll see more of that action so many unknowns for the cup series this weekend at circuit of the americas in austin texas check out all the action sunday four pm eastern on f s one

Everybody had a difficult time. But I asked a tremendous amount of every employee of the Internal Revenue Service. We got the best of the best. They stepped in. They were creative. They were innovative. They came up with plans in a hurry to allow us to do as well as we did. My Rudy's come in and done a phenomenal job, and he knows how to how to push the right buttons with me and you know, I know exactly what he means when he says that, so I just had to go to work, and luckily we had enough car there. At the end behind Byron and Reddick were Martin Truex Jr. Kyle Larson and Kevin Harvick completed the top five. Six through 10 went to Michael McDowell, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, Alex Bowman and Kyle Busch. Buy more stock because of their short decision. Um or wait. For a long time and end up losing more money, Then that's just being smart. That's how the stock market is structured. I would not do any of this, you know, buying and selling based upon what I think's gonna happen in the future. Way I invest. Invest in value, invest in companies that make money or have a great potential. Diversify. But I gotta gotta chuckle. I got it. I got to give it to these Reddick kids, you know, activists That are basically teaching a lesson to the much fun guys. You know, you just aren't gonna be able to just simply print money. Because you got so much of it that no one can stand up to you. Maybe every once in a while, we're all gonna get together and say fine, You're gonna lose billions, and these big, politically connected hedge funds have lost billions of dollars this week, billions and billions of dollars this week because of their Foolish bet. Think about it. They bought. This stock, probably at 15 bucks. It's now $330 right now. So if they bought a million shares At 15 Bucks. Let's say, let's say they bought 100 million shares at $15. That's $150 million.15 dollars. Times 100 million. Sorry. A million shares. Say they did a million shares. That's $15 million. But suddenly that million share March It's what they paid a million dollars. Now or they didn't pay anything. They just said I will. I will. I will get it back to you at $15 or less. You'll get a share back whatever it's valued at, But suddenly it's at $390 to say they have to. You know the delta between $15 just 3 50. Times 3 50. They've.

"Recently One Night in Miami premiered at Venice and Toronto to absolutely rave reviews. It was the directorial debut of Regina King, which she's so phenomenal as an actress. I'm really curious to know how that translates to being a director and what it's like working with someone on their directing debut, which one of those races like didn't do it similar Littlewoods. I Didn't Do It for the role I did it for the project but also because you know what it would Regina there's something about actors that direct Club. It just know how to talk actors because a lot of directors. They don't really understand acting they don't understand how to talk in terms of motivation. If you're giving an actor, you know, I mean a what's something you just too fast too soft throughout, you know, I mean unless is purely technical you need to be able expect that like yeah, and she's great at that in the span of your career. Can you think back to one of your favorite directions ever received? Wow, nobody's ever asked me that the problem is that usually it's a bad direction that sticks out that you remember it's going to say that I mean, I'll give you a call back once part of what makes me angry is that I took this is a director who let him say his name in French and it's a director that they love on fridge and disrespect me like from the first month should you didn't even start to respect until people start talking about the wire and they put two together cuz I don't think he'd even seen the show but there's a see where it's alternate universe and my character he's dead. Blackmailed by like the arch billing which is played by Jared Harris and my son had this rare disease that he had a short form, but he'd only give it to me if I would betray my universe know what I mean. So I did something that caused the death of one the people so after the funeral I come home and when we put my wife, she asked me turn off camera. Jackson asked me if I'm okay and how I played it when I came in was I came in she looks at me. Let's just says are you okay and I say I'm fine and I go and start looking a mail and it says to me last when he doing it's not about the mail. We need to see arise arise. Look at her you want her? I'm like dude he fucking idiot. I'm responsible with the murder of one my people. The last thing I want is for the person who knows me better than anyone in the world to look at my eyes right now. I'm sorry. I'm not playing the Mets are playing a boy or eyes dead. I said he's looking for melodrama rather than what makes sense psychologically for the character in the moment, which is just stupid. Sorry. Sorry. Yeah, and also, yeah, he would give you the what he's more intensity you need what you really meant. I need to see you doing something because I can't see what you're doing. You know, I mean, yeah, there's like just because you're fucken idiot. It'll show up on the screen that reminds me of a great fan of recall. It was talking to Chad stahelski. We were in the lobby of Continental it was in between takes up to 1 cup that had with a machine and somehow we got on this subject. You know, he said that when they first started working together can of said when you watch the day of them's make sure you give a have to watch little big screen. You can't watch it on small screen cuz if you watch it on a small screen. It's going to look like I'm not doing anything but I'm actually doing a lot at 11 that guy's so great isn't magical. I mean and it's not just the skills and Artistry is also like his job Humanity you like a different beat yeah is extraordinary. I want to quickly ask cuz I'm just personally really curious cuz I'm a podcaster you're in a series podcast called just Chrysalis. Yes. I'd love to hear about the process of acting in a podcast. I know you've done voice acting for video games and all of that but is it different doing something for a podcast? So for me something different it tends to be different from acting on camera because you don't have to chase, you know, you can't use your face in your body to communicate with each other. And the other thing is they don't tend to memorize the lines often you don't act with the other people. So you have to rely a lot on the directory, you know, when when film and television usually my thoughts of some is unless you see some degree just just stay out of my way cuz I know what I'm doing directors, but with voice acting it's like what do you got want me to, you know to me I really am. Because I've done so much for civil work computer game Destiny. I definitely found out the best because often I have lines. wouldn't have any context but even with dramatic things, you know always when something is communicating. Well if something is communicating and it's not I can't wait to listen. I'm very excited to hear that show. Did you enjoy working on a domestic? Cuz it was a lot of fun for me. It was so much fun to watch a complete the kind of character. They'll get to play great time doing this once was one argument. I was directed at a loss as I shouldn't have Mike Mike. So sweet and docile that shows definitely not a word I would miss from like but by the same token, I love working like yeah, like I said, there was only one thing where we just disagree and I lost that argument and she moved when Jenny asked you about the question of you know, what's a direction that you have gotten that you loved and it's definitely been from Mike which was just go further and like literally fuck him up. It was a glass work on domestics. I like they say he was a character you didn't get to play much. You mean the sweet kind generous family man. Who was a cannibal? Yeah. I'd assume you know, this is last and like this is why I've been makes goofy jokes with the sun and also who says, you know, what if you say anything right now, I will fucking got you and feed you to my wife and children which is pretty close to the line. I said, yeah. Yeah, I don't get to play catch do that either. I want to wrap up with my favorite closing question. What does it mean to you to have a life in stores? Howling. Wow, what a question to ask me what I have a lot of time that's deep when I feel like I get it right both in my performance and off with the material that I'm working on. I feel that I'm doing something important. I feel it's important to feel that way for two reasons. Number one. I just feel like it's kind of a fundamental human need to feel that. You know, what you do matters off. The other thing is that one of the things that makes human beings unique as beings is language and so everything about how we relate to our reality is the story. So the kinds of stories matter. I mean, I'll give you an example. There's a woman very close to my wife who told the story of when her son was about six years old. She was able to voice and they were in a McDonald's and she never really met any black people before it was a black guy to McDonald's and she said he was more fun because he walked up to the guy said Hey, are you a bad guy? Because it's only going to teaching the black peoples voices on television God, so, you know to me there's no such thing as just entertainment page Stories We Tell matter cuz they shoot their values machine our standards of beauty the ship how we relate to each other Lance Reddick. Thank you. My dear. It is always always a pleasure and I will come back anytime you invite them. So I'm always happy to be here today is guest has done so much. It would probably take us the whole episode just to list his credits, but he's best known for his acting walk on the wire Amazon's Bosch and comedy Central's corporate. So we're going to dig into all of that and so much more I am thrilled to welcome Lance Reddick Lance. Thank you for joining us. We are so happy to be here today. Thank you. I absolutely love talking about the Creative Connections in the world. So I really want to start with this because Dana and Lance you both have actually shared projects together, even though you've never met So Dana was in American Horror Story coven and she was in the domestics as where you Lance and I would love to start with those projects. Well, my experience was so vivid on American Horror choice because it would see I don't want to say the only time but it's one of the few times in my career where I feel like almost went back to school because my first day was through Page same disk lying and it was interesting because whatever you work with star like that. Well at least for myself. I always wonder what I'm going to get so I'm a little concerned about protecting my work and just things first of all, she quickly that she's just all about the work setting have to worry about that. But the other thing was that it was the last scene of the bay and that particular season was her season more than any other season so she was priced so we start the scene and I remember these kind of doing this ritual and she's kind of mumbling to herself my character populate his sister and he appears I have wage. Very good. And so he's in the middle of this incantation and you here in the Next Room. Somebody drop something. She starts over again, I swear to God about Thursday is in here, right. Something else, you know, the room is quiet and you here Jessica almost in a whispering Jesus Christ wanted me to learn how to block them talking. I was like, oh my goodness, but then it was great. I mean it was great and the other thing that was interesting because I'm such a stickler about being prepared and normalize when you've got that much to do and you're working hours that long you got a three-page seen. Sometimes you're going to go up in your life. And as soon that I don't remember ever seeing before or was that what she went up on her lines. She would just keep going what was amazing to me about it. Was that her going up with our lives. He never took her out of it, but she still stayed in it as the character and the other thing was, you know, being a dog Director even though you always looking for something spontaneous going to be take once you find still pretty much trying to do the same thing. And I notice that she was finding a little thing because in some ways more quintessentially a film actor than anything else and I noticed how nuanced and different every single take was it really fascinating too much was really educational and then of course testing makes one of my items so that they was just cranking in Los Angeles. I also had a similar Jessica Lange experience. She was so wonderful and kind and humble to me and she was so sweet, but I saw her rip someone a new one that was just not often point and they needed to be and they were after that and I just remember my boss lady as well like watching a queen on her throne, you know. Yeah, and then there's also a fantastic Grace and attitude that she had which was just about the work. She was just about executing which young to be done. That's literally one of the highlights my career. That's far as getting to work with her and and Angela obviously off. Gabby Sidibe that's how that's where she and I met and that's where we fought our friendship when we're still dear friends to this day. She compels what intellectual Gabby's like people don't realize it or they suck when they meet her within a few minutes, but she's I told her just the other night. I said, don't think you have been tested girl. You might be a little genius and she was like, I don't know it was like easily. Yeah you thought about that, you know, like I'm just me girl and I'm like you're also a genius so that's fine. You know, but that time was wonderful in American Horror Story and I do remember your role quite prominently because weird stuff started happening and your character mustard in a sort of spirit realm that was just really freaky and you know, I'm from New Orleans so we don't play with any of that stuff off while also the local folks that they had hired to come in and do the ritual practices with us. They made us pray with them prior to at least in the scenes that I was in and some of the episodes wage And I really appreciated that they asked us to humbly bow our heads and respect what was being done cuz it's not a game. It's not just for Hollywood film and television. It's like a real thing to them. So we need to kind of pay homage and reference which I really appreciated cuz you don't want to make nobody mad. Oh man. That is so cool. Yeah, it was interesting. Yeah. It was with Sarah Paulson. There was a goat that had to be revised all over her and it was very messy and very grotesque and everything but she was like a champ and years. She's amazing and that's my girl. She's so amazing. I love Sarah I didn't work with her name is using but we had me come back from Cameo what conversations later and I did work. I want to go back really quick to working across Jessica Lange you guys both strike me as your about the work and so being across from someone off that level of her career who also is all about the work. Does it affect the way you approach your own work or is it kind of matching the energy you already have? I'm going to jump in really quick glance because I'm not on lamp off. Problem at all like and that's not to impute My Level. I consider myself a blue collar actor. So when I'm considered a local hire or or at least I was cuz now I'm based in Los Angeles before when I was working in New Orleans and bought a local hire people who did treat you a different way and you knew were supporting character. And so you kind of understood the hierarchy of set life. If you will even still I always watch with the greats were doing always take cues from them and I let them sort of dictate the temperature and the culture of the set and if they're Takata Vande, they're open great. If not, I just kind of follow their lead. So Lance does that then affect you the way approach your own workers your method kind of set and some people fit better than others into your method of acting a little I'll change my preparation based on who I'm working. This is weird to say, but I mean in terms of how I see myself as an actor, I mean pretty much from the time. I got out of drama school. I just always thought of myself as a game. So in terms of the work that never bothered me, so when I work with people I may be nervous to meet that person but once the camera starts rolling, it's just it's about life in and do the work. You.

We chatted again about the upcoming season and is exciting new projects that he's producing including drone. Let's hear now from Lance Rick. As far as boils this year you had a chance to play like an older version of bras. Yes I did. What was that like for you interesting mending makeup because it took about three hours to get in and out of get Outta. Yeah I bet I bet. Did you. Mentally approach him any differently. Well only in that he say that. But it's kind of like Vichy France so still trying to do his job and take care of basic humanity that can occupied the. Yeah basically being occupied. Yeah definitely definitely. It's not just as age what he's gone and when he had a lot to endure especially with the observers in their in their new role in the future. I'm sure war war. Speaking of the future that seems to be the theme. At least start. The season is to kind of go back in and Kinda start. The story line that was started at towards the end of last year. I tried. I know I haven't read online that I haven't read it yet but for the no that's what we're GONNA be headed. Have they given you any clues at all until the final episode at all? No not at all. That should be interesting to see what they do Ending the show. I I know John. Noble has said that they're going to start in the future and It looks like everybody is coming back and You know so. That's good to gets a chance to finish the story sort. Speak Yes when. Do you start shooting? I'm not sure I actually am. I'm going to be a handful of episodes receiver. Okay so I don't know I appreciate right after car. Okay I think they start the weaker pods like seventy or whatever that is. Yeah what are your I mean? The show is coming to an end. How do you look back on the experience in working on it and the people who you worked with wow it was I never dentist science fiction show before even though even though the kind of Ood a lot of fun you know. That was always really kind of kicked. I love my work with John Noble. Yes yeah he's he's he's great. He's great it's a dynamite. Kaslo and really right from the beginning it just really was a different show and you know the word X. files never came up after the initial. Maybe I episode reviewers were eight missile. Yeah it's it's it's it's own thing and the alternate universe to me I thought was was a great Was a great way to co two really cool stuff and to see. The old breuls was need to. I know that was interesting for you to play too. I mean after you know because it's changed so much episode for season. Yeah Apple Awkward was wounded absolutely and you know one of the things that I really wanNA mention about him. As the think the the whole thing with his family in the season two. That was nice. I enjoyed that. And we get to see more of the family Royals in that universe that we don't see an hour so I like that was some good stuff there on the play. Yeah one of the things that you're doing in your in your in your own life is that you've formed your own production company this March and you actually have some things that are that are that are kind of on the fast track. WanNa talk about Saint Sebastian. You have a good director there. Mr Danny devito directing and your producer on that kind of tell us a little bit about that. The horror thriller that That I I'd something Danny when he and I worked at episode it's always Sunny Philadelphia Out May of last year. Yeah that's right and then We ended up because Because of the spotting England who actually able to shoot it with me Co starring in December. Oh Nice Nice Craig. I know there was Can Krisha work for the film back in. May and then he's GonNa play in London right now but once they've finished rehearsal and they after previews over he was He was finishing up the go. Good good and some of the other producers are he who is Refinanced your executive producers and tear sweetly. Who's the righter? is a co-producer along with myself and Danny and so we really in this direction. We're really junior partner so kind of what happens. In terms of the distribution Is going to be more kind of along? Kind of Danny Steve's say so but What started out as as one thing in in May in May actually get a large distribution. Nice we're able to get a really great cats to Leads THERE I know we in Fitch. He believe in the movie and concert. Yeah yeah good people. That's great that's excellent. And then there's something else that you're doing called the one seventeen and I think you know by doing his change so it's called grown now drone yes. Okay yes cool to do it on Youtube. I think is a great way to go to that. You're going to get a lot of us on that definitely. Yeah I think you should really gonNA push itself Bobby glittered. Who is the writer director? He's he's actually appreciate of just in landscape again. Justin Lin's Yummy Kennel. Now you and I am. Bobby means actually at one point he was he was. I think he started just in the system then using executive just as company. We're GONNA see how it goes this kind of initial storyline of of episodes. You keep doing it on Youtube or either. Do it hopefully evolve into a feature film or a Cable News via. That'd be awesome has a great place to kind of test. The waters on something like that too. That's actually something that by Bobby Baker. The the other director juicer Brought to me how cool so And then And then my partner Steven Steven that I agreed to do it because I really liked the script. We came on its corporate. That's crate and speaking of your partner. He has a very solid visual effects. Background to. Oh Yeah you're that visual effects for two. Yeah exactly I think he's worked on iron man to and if you other things to him and he probably getting away then when he was working on thought he couldn't tell me what he was working on. You know he can tell me until after came out of course course so you started casting for that or anything like that when you already shot. You're shot at. Oh Cool we. We shop that Off and on of course past two months in a couple of months I shut my stuff. I couldn't shooting my about two weeks ago. Yes here too. You're trying to work around your schedule a little bit too. That's a Bob. Even crossing the editing that Nah oh good good so yeah definitely that that sounds really cool and definitely will keep an eye out for that and Yeah I suppose to Premiere on Youtube in August okay. Great that's awesome so it sounds like you're moving into You know still doing the acting and being more of a producer now. Yeah I just found that what kind of career that I want a stage. I just need to in in terms of being the casting rooms and need to be on the other side of the table. I hear you. I tell you the only thing. They can't talk too much about but it's a presentational pilot for a half hour comedy Bush. The Guy who wrote information key he wrote and directed it And we shot that in April and so hopefully by the end of this month will have something ready to To shop to network and it's definitely it's definitely cable suits good. Good it's cool. You know it's funny because I was just I just happened to catch Jona HEX new the fourth of July. And there you were reacting to the fireworks and everything onto four kind of neat to see that. That was fun to go. Yeah Yeah especially. There's nothing there I mean. They were building the Washington Monument and that scene. So it's really really funny. That's great and you know it's it's also met was also want to mention that can be in won't back down coming out this fall to with some really good people in that also. We can't and actually I saw screening and actually I the version that I saw re weeks ago when this Finnish version He's a really really great film and it's really important so yeah yeah and performances curb. Maybe how great In particular via Davis. And you're in growth place. I can't remember the name. The girl plays making daughter. Really kind of I I mean I know it's about the school system and how parents literally kind of taken on themselves to get things done and cut through red tape and of couple of parents. One of whom is also a teacher in school and that's sector how they tried to start a charter. School really considered their their their children and I play a violent husbands as far as as fringe. Have you gotten any idea at all? What's going to happen to you this season? I will know ideal..

"So how far do you take things with the Astros in terms of the protections they deserve you obviously you want to make sure that you take threats against them from the outside seriously fans that are emotional and delusion or demented those types and their French fans they're fanatics in every sport in every walk of life really so I think baseball in this highly controversial issue like their security people have to win and weed out the real threat to the parts from the pretend threats and Josh Reddick is saying he's a social media mostly which we know social media is you know like any medium there's a lot of good there's the sharing of information ideas and then there's also room for hateful rhetoric and things of that nature in the Astros are easy target because a lot of people are offended and upset by what they did and rightfully so it gets taken to the extreme what should be the protocol or the approach when it comes to the games itself what goes on between the lines they want Josh Reddick please for fans to calm down and not threaten his family because they don't deserve it should the same sure the shape same protections be provided for his teammates on the field and I think you can you can find good reasons for both yeah like it is kind of a barbaric blood lost Roman Coliseum you might even say kinda Neanderthal belief or thought to have if your brain is telling you you want to see brawls you want to see Astros players beamed in bean balls and thrown at him fights if you can't take the trophy or that piece of metal away form from a beat the crap out of him I don't think it's fair to warn players on opposing teams before a spring training game even starts that big penalties are looming if you do it because I do think there's a hidden advantage in there for the Astros how are they gonna be able to judge intent some people say you know when you see it not always Astros player gets hit Peter says he didn't mean it this man front step in and suspend the guy anyways does that take away the inside of the plate it's your spacing the Astros it's not a black and white issue there are complications there are unintended consequences so.
