"And there's a research study that came out about all these different classes of medications that actually can negatively impact our buddy. So we wanna be sinking about that. And this is what I tell people we wanna get outside. We wanna get some sun. We wanna breathe deeply we want. A laugh laughter. So important having fun. We want to eat foods at mother nature grew. We wanna drink clean water and we wanna rest while at night. And when we do that or really taking care of us. Well, and we're taking care. Of our buddies. Well, I love that. And I would love to go deeper on a couple of those points because I feel like those are definite pain points for a lot of moms. And I think shifting conversation with kids also really helps moms so for instance, on the point of more variety in our food. I know that I've read quite a bit on this topic. And we know that for instance, just a couple of generations ago, we were eating hundreds of different species of plants in any given year. And now most people are lucky if that's an dozens because we're eating the same things over and over. And we'd know from the studies that variety is really really important to feeding like you said the prebiotics in the gut, but on the contrast to that we see kids meals that are the exact same usually like five types of food everywhere, you go, and there's this kind of society, white expectation that only the kids like those types of foods. So I know I get this question. A lot of how do you get the kids to eat foods that are not just kids meal foods, and how do you get them to like them? So I would love to hear your suggestion. Both as a mom and on the research side of some practical advice, we can give to moms to help kids incorporate more variety, and they're such a good question at a topic. You know, like if mamas are listening, and they're like, oh my gosh. This is me with my kids right now. It's like you are so not alone. Right. And I think the biggest thing is that again like, you you said, and I I love even in your bio on your website about, you know, here like a expert in answering the question why? Because kids are kids ask why, you know, like, well, why why do I have to eat that? Why can't I just have chicken nuggets and French fries all the time? And you know, I again, their brains are so smart and they catch onto these concepts. So the first thing is let's teach him about their buddies. Right. Like, that's a really good way where we take that pressure off of us as moms again feel like maybe almost were pushing nagging, and it's like, oh, this is so exhausting, and you know, we're tired as mom. Right. It's a lot of work in a special and a night. Maybe didn't get a lot of sleep. It's easy to dislike us, maybe. I'll try tomorrow. And instead of it being on you. Let's put it on the kiddos. Right. And I get so excited to think about when kids are learning about like, I have a brain. And I have a heart, and I have a liver, you know, at school. It's like they're learning. I have buddies and oh, wow. They're actually the most important things for my health as a human being, right? Like, I like to say our buddies are best friends for life. So when we teach our kids, it's like, whoa. I have these little you know, any buddies at live in my belly. And I've got a feed them, it becomes a responsibility. That's on them. And you know, the food chart is really fun because you know, it again, I think kids like to they want to be in control, right? Like so much of parenting is that balance of you know, you have to sometimes exert your well, and they want to exert there's, but you can say like, hey, you know, let's talk about. Red foods the buddies need red food. So we have apples we have kidney beans, we've got beats. We have bell peppers, cherries, grapes. You know, red potatoes, pomegranates, raspberries watermelon. Yo there's all these examples, which one do you wanna eat today to feed your buddies? Okay. Let's think about our yellow foods. Okay. So we've got you know, pear and pineapple and bananas and peppers. And you know, there's all these examples on the food Chartres..

So you may imagine with what hungry is the watched the pairs ripening and prayed for a storm of wind or a flock of flying foxes or anything which would cause the fruit to fall. But nothing game and the old wife who was grumbling scolding declared. They would infallibly become beggars. So she took to giving her husband nothing, but dry bread to eat and insisted that he should walk harder than ever. Plot. Over sore got quite thin and all because the payers would not fall down. At last the man declared he would not work anymore on listeners wife gave him kitschy for Dino. So we are very bad Greece. There is secured totally and we walked through the perimeter. And when we came home at midnight or two o'clock or whenever they shut the gates down. We walk back through that area. Security policeman. He will live are our strengths were twenty feet from the perimeter. There was a road there went through. And then the fence and our barracks were like ten foot back from the edge of the fence. And you went jogging out there in the evening when things cooled down or something or sat on the steps out front where it was cooler in the evening and have a beer way. You're sitting right there in it. Literally. There wasn't any grass around there. It was dirt. So. The different level. All you need to do in. If you take a dropper or read FDA and see number two, red food color and take a dropper of that drop into your bath of with half full of water. I swear to God use formula. You'll never be able to see that bathwater is a little bit redder than it was before you put that in there. You put them I drop or loads of it in there before you start to see a color change. So imagine taking twelve or twenty dump trucks will NC number two red dumping them right into the Riverina estuary of all in rivers, all the way up and down South Vietnam. And and making it all roll out into the sea. And you tell me if that South China Sea, which is got more water as they God. Then I can even conceive of it's part of the civic bringing ocean. Now, you dump all that stuff into every little river that comes out to the edges South Vietnam. I don't think you're gonna see the whole South China Sea turn red with this ship. Not even thirty five miles out. I don't see it. It just it's almost impossible. To think of I mean, conceivably how that can be. Which are not actually being so nuts. There candy coated peanuts. Such a weird name. It is have you ever had Boston cottage cheese. It is not that. But this pink lemonade a bit with look a little hot cinnamon a bit. That's a pretty delicious thing to drink. It could be sure like today when you make pink lemonade, it's usually like red food coloring or something like that. But back in the day after pink lemonade was created what's doctor Kellogg stained the guy from battle creek. I can't remember where same. Well. He he came up with a recipe that uses like, either Grenadine or cranberry juice or something like that to make it pink and just kinda slightly alter the flavor, right? The other origin story though, that is gross that I mentioned was for eighteen fifty seven this is when a circus concession worker was in a big hurry to make a batch eliminate grab the first water they could find which apparently was a wash tub full of pink water from a performers dirty pink tights. And they use that in people enjoyed it. Well, I don't think they knew what the source was of the pink water. Yeah. This pretty gross that is. But either way so we're going to go with the other one. Helmet makes my top ten list because my top ten list is all about what chemicals are exposed to every day. You know, like I said Agent Orange disrupts yesterday. But we're not exposed every day. I hope and you know, if you were I'd make my top ten list. But and I was a good example of of how long this takes right? Because we we thought Agent Orange just fine in the scientific world until we started seeing these problems come out twenty years ago. There's even a drug called die. Still best y'all DAS abbreviated. Dial full so best role was prescribed by doctors for pregnant women to prevent morning sickness, but it acts like estrogen and sure enough all those babies that were being born that were not all of them. But you know, a lot of them had major problems that came out twenty years later thirty years later, they're infertile, for example, a lot of people I do consulting for they've had this. What are some foods that have that red dye? Yeah. So we're going back to the red, right? Like, that's one that makes my list because we are exposed everyday. Sorry. I get off topic so easily, but. In europe. It's legal, but you have to put a big warning label that says it may cause adverse health problems. So nobody uses it. They use beet juice. These are they use natural beaches. And that's fine. But over here, we use artificial red dye. So you see pro athletes drinking, you know, Gatorade read forty or whatever. And what really to Mark's question. What really shocked me? And there's a million things. Right. But one thing that was really enlightening for me was most scientific researchers today, we're actually putting red dye in with ourselves. So we're growing so you take out some fat tissue like I'm doing. At. The mayo clinic I'm growing stem cells right now. For example. I'm studying sim self at genetics and stem cells trying to reprogram them in special in positive ways. Re-inject them prove your joints. Whatever so say, I took some marks fat. We we were one of those long dining table. Yes. With all candles between no food. No other table. It's a candle Butler has to go from one end to the other. We share one microphone. Yeah. The scale infects these cacti, but here's the crazy part about the scale. It is the color when you touch it. It's a huge like, it's blood, whatever it releases this massively, bright red color that is the source of food dye. Yeah. It's like the commonly used red food dye. That's like in makeup in food whatever and they're all over my cactus. And I can't get them to go away. And I'm like, hey, should I just save all these dudes and make like a tunnel lipstick? Like, what do I do the vegan way right now? I'm gonna have to get rid of them. Would you make lipstick from like, that's literally? No. But I'm saying like. Is there not enough processing stuff that has to be done? This is another tangent. But like when you become vegan, and you start really having look at ingredients and understand what comes from where there's some great shit that we put in food, for example, confectioner's glaze as a couple of different names. It is the thing that makes like jelly beans, shiny or Mike. And I like anything that's like super glossy. It's confectioners Claes. Guess what it is a cactus? Come. Oh, great. Com is tasty. And you should definitely try on the Paulus taco. If you've never had. I'm coming over. What is it is? You really have to ask how someone figure this out? There's a specific type of beetle I believe, and when you heat it up as a defense mechanism because it's like, I'm about to die shit eight excretes this liquid and someone was like, yo what if we took that liquid and candy. That's and it's the commonly used modern practice for candy Jesus. It's what makes a lot of otherwise vegan candy, not vegan. How in the fuck? Did. They figure that out. I mean, think of any food like who was the first person to drink milk. A little bit makes sense. Even though it's disgusting. I'm like idea. And you were like I have those. I know. Yeah. But why not other animals? I don't understand. Why in the fuck you're not like, hey, you know, what looks a lot more like a human Titi a monkey teddy. I'm drink milk. Well, can monkeys be milked? Hell you don't say. Hell, yeah. For monkey man. Cereal. Yes. Our monkey male. I would love to see little not like a mascot version of you. Just literally a picture of you doing the whole like I'm strong arm thing on the box of something called monkey milk. Hell, yeah. I'm gonna call me elk Phil monkey meal. Sounds like you're gagging on the monkey milk halfway through the sentence. Hell, yeah. I mean, it wouldn't be good. But frankly, I don't think Kalmyks good either. It's not I think that anyone that drinks milk and enjoys cheese just has to pretend they're not eating. They're eating O N enjoys cheese because that's milk. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Do you think about food or no, no? I just eat. These candy. I will say an answer to the question..

"So what they did was they forced an organism to exist with only or not nor is a they forced a calcium carbonate crystal to form with only carbon thirteen and then submerged it in a carbonic acid acidic solution and from that they were able to measure the isotopic ratio over time to then understand how quickly is this purely carbon thirteen thing breaking down into our carbon twelve water does that make sense yet and so that help them understand some of the timing and the thing that they learned pizza so in other words you're putting a fingerprint on these carbon atoms which on the surface you can't tell one carbon from another but this gives us a way to tell when garden right it's like if you put a ice cube that you'd made with red food dye into a solution of boiling water with blue food die and you'd measured the time it took to become purple asked i make sense a great and so from that they're able to learn that the rate limiting step is not the dissolution itself it's the rate at which the dissolved carbon dioxide breaks down into carbonic acid because we've known for a long time that the carbon dioxide gas dissolves into water better at cold temperatures which is why for a while we talked about on the show we've been more worried about what's happening at the polls than at the equator in terms of the ocean acidification whereas things like coral bleaching or worried about at the equator because that's where coral reefs tend to be and that's where they the warming is happening added a great that's higher than the rate of the acidification yet carbon dioxide in waters met a stable it prefers to not be there so if you heat up that water than it's in a jiggle it out much more rapidly that's way if you have something like.
